My Policewoman Lover [Full Text] - 1

Chapter 1 Super Cop

After a quick bite of breakfast, Liu Jing grabbed his small bag and headed to work, not forgetting to change into his most flattering suit. The weather outside was lovely; on auspicious days, the weather is always fine.

The bus was packed, filled with shouts and curses, but Liu Jing was used to it. He'd been living alone in this city for nine months, maintaining his sense of superiority. He owned a two-bedroom apartment in a nice neighborhood, though his mother had spent all her savings to buy it; his job was respectable, providing sufficient financial security, and he could easily upgrade to a higher-paying job if he wanted.

Two arguing women started pushing and shoving each other. Liu Jing scooted aside, but a plump woman gave him a haughty and disgusted look, so he had to take a small step back. He could have used a more comfortable mode of transportation, like a taxi, which he could easily afford, but the company only reimbursed monthly bus fares, and he couldn't find a reason to justify it.

Finally, he arrived at the company, and Liu Jing rushed up to the third floor, entering the sales department office. As expected, the old man was sweating profusely, working hard.

"Brother Li, you're here."

"Hmm." Li Desheng looked nervous, not even glancing at him.

Liu Jing moved his chair over and sat down reverently beside him. Li Desheng was his so-called mentor, the kind the company designated—thirty-three years old, with the air of an elder, except for his occasional boasting. A couple of days ago, Liu Jing was bored and played some "Red Alert 2" online. He saw it and wanted to install it too. Li Desheng was computer illiterate, at least game illiterate. Liu Jing got him a hard drive version and got him hooked. He became addicted, and his wife was strict. This old guy was out early and back late every day, playing in the office.

Liu Jing quietly watched from the sidelines. Li Desheng was a newbie; he'd die in minutes. He wasn't worried. Sure enough, the newly built giant cannon was crippled by a few rocket soldiers, and a major attack was coming. Li Desheng panicked, scrambling around.

"A cigarette!"

Liu Jing didn't smoke, but he took one from the table, respectfully placed it in his mentor's mouth, and lit it.

"Water!"

Liu Jing scurried off to refill the water bottle, placing it in the most convenient spot, then continued watching the game. This time, Liu Jing miscalculated. After several days of torture, the old guy's skill had clearly improved, lasting nearly twenty minutes before being defeated.

Li Desheng changed his cigarette and casually pushed the mouse aside: "Say it, what's up?"

"Lend me your car tonight," Liu Jing stated his intention. This guy had a Santana, a bit old, but better than nothing. As the saying goes, even if there are no fish, shrimp will do.

"To pick up girls?" Li Desheng asked coldly.

"Master is master after all, you guessed it right away," Liu Jing flattered him without missing an opportunity.

"Nonsense! These days, who borrows a car if they're not married or picking up girls!"

Liu Jing chuckled. Picking up girls, he might be willing to lend him his car, but marriage was out of the question.

Li Desheng rolled his eyes and helplessly reached for his car keys. In the past six months, he had introduced several potential partners to this so-called apprentice, but each time they would just glance at them and leave, making him lose face.

"Remember to come back and teach me." Li Desheng tossed the car keys to him irritably.

"Thanks!" Having achieved his goal, Liu Jing got up to leave.

"Wait, another glass of water!"

"Pour it yourself." Liu Jing pocketed the car keys, grabbed a chair, and left.

"Damn it!" Li Desheng was annoyed, pointing back, "Little Liu, if I ever..."

"You'll still lend it to me next time, don't say that."

Liu Jing ignored his mentor's anger, calmly sat down, and turned on his computer. May Day was approaching, and there were still a few orders to close, directly related to this month's bonus, so he didn't have time to waste with him.

After sitting in the office for half a day and then running around outside, he finally made it to the end of the workday. Liu Jing combed his hair in front of the mirror, feeling quite satisfied, before confidently heading out. It wasn't that he wasn't in a hurry, it was just that there was still plenty of time.

"It feels so good to set off." Liu Jing drove off, the wind blowing against him.

This was just a casual appointment, but Liu Jing took it very seriously; he always took every meeting with a girl very seriously. His greatest wish was to find a girlfriend he truly loved, to experience his first time together, and to have a love without regrets. It wasn't just a simple virginity complex; this wish had been established in him since junior high school. Back then, he read Alexandre Dumas fils' *La Dame aux Camélias*, deeply moved by the poignant love story, and vowed to find his own Marguerite, a perfect Marguerite.

Liu Jing was always cautious in choosing girlfriends, immediately rejecting anyone he didn't feel a connection with at first sight. Adhering to the principle of "general cultivation, focused selection," he didn't accept a girlfriend introduced by a roommate until his senior year of university—a girl from Guangdong. But less than two weeks later, she inexplicably broke up with him, leaving him nearly furious.

"Deep and sweet, I hope your sweetness won't disappoint me." Liu Jing stepped on the gas, the car accelerating away, carrying his beautiful hopes for the future and his long-lasting yearning for perfect love.

A gentle breeze blew, peach blossoms carpeted the ground, passersby hurried by, and swallows darted across the sky. Liu Jing thought of a poem: "Fluttering swallows chase the sunny day, rogue passersby tread on fallen flowers." How vivid, how brilliant! He felt a surge of emotion, his chest heaving with the evening breeze. The scenery was largely the same every day; what changed was people's moods, especially since this poem was his own work.

At the Causeway Bay restaurant, a waiter came to fetch his car. Liu Jing waved him off and pulled over. He figured it was smarter to observe from inside.

Causeway Bay was a seafood restaurant, quite expensive, frequented by stylishly dressed men and women. Liu Jing stared intently, but didn't see a single woman. It was only ten minutes until their appointment.

"Could they be playing a trick on me?" Liu Jing grew anxious, constantly checking his watch.

A girl approached. Liu Jing coldly observed her, silently praying, "It's not her! It's not her! It's not her!" The girl hurried past. He looked away, secretly relieved. The girl was not only unremarkable, but also incredibly ordinary-looking. (Old Sheng's P.S.: Unprecedented and unparalleled, referring to having no breasts in the front and no butt in the back.)

Persistence pays off; finally, a pretty girl appeared. Liu Jing quickly got out of the car and sheepishly approached her. The girl slowed her pace, looking him up and down.

"Deep Sweetness?" Liu Jing smiled and nodded.

The girl jumped, her eyes immediately becoming wary, staring intently at him, clutching her bag tightly to her chest, and slowly circling him.

What's going on? What does this mean? I'm not a thief. Liu Jing tried to maintain a friendly smile and nodded again: "Excuse me, I'm looking for Deep Sweetness. Are you Deep Sweetness?"

A flicker of surprise crossed the girl's eyes. She circled him for a short distance, then suddenly sped up and started running, glancing back in alarm as she ran.

Hey, what's going on? Why is she running? Could it be...? Liu Jing waved and called out, "Hey, are you looking for 'Anything'? I am 'Anything'!"

"You pervert! You're not something!" the girl cursed, then ran off and disappeared.

Oh no! It wasn't her! This is so embarrassing!

Back in the car, Liu Jing finally realized a serious problem: they didn't know each other, hadn't exchanged phone numbers, and the online friend had only given a time and place before logging off—no connection signal at all! What to do? He couldn't just go up to every woman he met and act all lovey-dovey, could he? Thinking about the stupid thing he'd already done, Liu Jing's face burned.

"What a blunder! So reckless!" Liu Jing had never met anyone online before and had absolutely no experience; now he was starting to get a headache.

"Knock, knock, knock!" Someone knocked on the car window.

Liu Jing was feeling annoyed when he suddenly turned his head and was met with a pair of enormous breasts! But he wasn't in the mood to admire them right now, because he also saw something else: a white leather belt diagonally across their cleavage.

Holy crap! A policewoman! A super-sized female policewoman! Why are the police looking for me? I didn't really confess anything! For any driver, traffic police are always a scourge, and Liu Jing was no exception.

"What a bummer!" Liu Jing cursed, quickly opening the car door to get out. The policewoman was standing by the door, and before he could react, "plop!" her enormous breasts made intimate contact with the car door.

"Hey you!" The super-sized policewoman jumped back, her face flushed, almost knocking over her motorcycle.

Damn it! He didn't even know what he'd done wrong, and he'd been molested again! Liu Jing scrambled off the bus, hurriedly apologizing, "I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to, officer, are you alright?"

The beautiful traffic policewoman's eyes were cold, her expression shifting rapidly, her large hands heaving. She slowly raised her hand, giving a standard military salute: "Sir, your driver's license?"

Liu Jing didn't move, pausing for a moment before saying, "Auntie, I really didn't mean to!"

"Driver's license!" A flash of anger crossed the policewoman's eyes, her raised voice unusually crisp in the evening breeze. Liu Jing rolled his eyes, reluctantly handing over his driver's license; he resigned himself to his bad luck.

The policewoman looked at his face, carefully checking it, her expression softening slightly: "Parking is not allowed here, didn't you know?"

Liu Jing quickly turned around, looking around. Ugh, there really were people not parked here. "Auntie, I really didn't know! Please have mercy, I promise, I'll be careful next time."

"Sorry, I'm on duty." The super-smart policewoman showed no mercy, magically pulling a small notebook from behind her back. "A fine of 200 yuan, and you must stop at the nearest police station within seven days..."

"200 yuan just for parking? Money doesn't grow on trees, that's outrageous!" Liu Jing was annoyed.

The policewoman raised her head slightly and patiently said, "Sir, I'm just following the rules. If you're not satisfied, you can apply for a review or file a lawsuit directly in court." The beautiful woman spoke fluently, her expression unchanged.

After finishing, the super policewoman gave him a disdainful look and lowered her head to write the ticket.

"Hey, no, no, please don't! I give in, I give in, okay?!" Liu Jing panicked and grabbed the policewoman's hands. For 200 yuan, he decided to use gentle persuasion, relying on his salesman's smooth talk to seduce her.

The policewoman frowned slightly, stared at his hands, then slowly raised her head, looking into his eyes.

"Calm down, calm down! Don't get agitated, listen to me patiently!" Having bumped into her large chest and then touched her small hand, Liu Jing was afraid the policewoman would lose her temper, so he tried to calm her down while slowly withdrawing his arms. The female traffic policewoman lowered her gaze slightly, and Liu Jing continued, "Officer, before you issue the ticket, I think I have the right to make a statement and explain myself. That shouldn't violate your regulations, right?"

The policewoman seemed somewhat surprised, then revealed a hint of disdain, tucking her notebook under her arm: "Okay, go ahead, I'm listening."

Liu Jing breathed a sigh of relief and began to fabricate a story: "Let me tell you, this car isn't mine, I borrowed it from a friend. Look at me, I don't look like someone who can afford a car. Today… I'm meeting my girlfriend, our first meeting, and I have to treat her to dinner later. If you fine me 200, I won't be able to pay the bill. I'm a grown man, over five feet tall, wouldn't that be embarrassing? Please, have mercy, this time… don't fine me! Next time, next time if you catch me again, I'll double it, okay?"

"Oh, treating your girlfriend to dinner, and it's your first meeting?" The beautiful woman looked him over with amusement, then suddenly laughed, "That's a plausible excuse, but the fine isn't paid now, how could it interfere with your girlfriend's dinner?"

"Um, this..." Liu Jing was stunned; his lie had a huge flaw.

The policewoman looked at him and said irritably, "Forget it, this isn't a valid reason at all, but we police officers also have feelings. Seeing that you're young and your attitude is good, this time we'll..."

"Then thank you so much, ma'am!" Liu Jing immediately interrupted, trying to hasten the fait accompli.

A barely perceptible smile flashed in the policewoman's eyes: "Don't be too happy yet. I meant this time we'll be lenient; a fine of one hundred will do."

Damn it! Why is she fining him?! "Wait! Please wait a little longer!" Liu Jing cried anxiously, trying to grab her hand again, but the policewoman's bright eyes shot over, and he quickly withdrew.

The policewoman grew impatient: "Hey, you! Even if you didn't have to pay now, would you take your girlfriend out for dinner without spending an extra hundred yuan? And you still have the nerve to say you're over five feet tall!"

Liu Jing was embarrassed for a moment, then said bluntly, "Sister, it's not about the money, it's about the feeling. For example, you wouldn't care if you lost a hundred yuan, but if you were fined five yuan for spitting, wouldn't you be upset all day? Think about it, I'm seeing my girlfriend, it's a happy occasion, we're all Chinese, who doesn't want good luck! You don't need my hundred or so, I'll go all the way, and you're even asking me to thank you, what's wrong with that?"

Liu Jing's words were quite sharp, which amused the policewoman. She glanced at him with her beautiful eyes and said, "Okay, you have a point. I'll let you off this time, just be careful next time, and drive away quickly." With that, she tossed him his driver's license.

"Thanks." Finally safe, Liu Jing took the license and thanked her repeatedly.

"You're welcome!" The policewoman picked up her helmet and smiled back.

The streetlights suddenly came on, and the beautiful woman, her every smile and glance gleaming in the light, was captivatingly alluring. Liu Jing, preoccupied with money, hadn't paid attention to her appearance until now. He noticed that the super policewoman was not only incredibly large and had a fantastic figure, but she was also remarkably beautiful. She was about twenty-seven or twenty-eight, with a square-round face, a high, sexy nose, and sweetly curved lips. Especially striking were her large, dark eyes, which exuded a mature and alluring charm. She was elegant and refined, bold and carefree.

This woman was truly a stunner!

The super policewoman put on her helmet, straightened her posture, and swiftly mounted her motorcycle. Her movements, her uniform, her slender waist, her thighs, her buttocks—Liu Jing was momentarily stunned. No wonder so many people liked uniform styles; they certainly had their unique appeal.

"Let's go! Good luck meeting your girlfriend!" the policewoman waved and started the motorcycle with a roar.

"Thank you for your concern, ma'am. I appreciate your kind words!" Liu Jing waved back and smiled confidently.

"Haha! You can wait here then." The policewoman tossed her head, her long hair peeking out from under her helmet, whipping around behind her as the motorcycle sped away.

"Goodbye! Thanks!"

The super policewoman's athletic figure disappeared into the bustling city. Liu Jing reluctantly withdrew his hand, a pang of regret in his heart. Sigh, what a wonderful older sister, how could she be so old?

Chapter Two: First Encounter with Fang Xi

"Having made an appointment, she didn't come past midnight; idly tapping chess pieces, the lamplight flickers."

Liu Jing didn't wait until midnight, but by 6:30, the sky was already deep, and the sweet fragrance was still nowhere to be found. He was extremely frustrated, cursing all the way home. Clearly, he didn't have the good mood of the ancients.

Liu Jing generally didn't chat; QQ was more of a communication tool than a chat tool. Last Christmas Eve, a girl wanted to add him, he ignored her, but she persisted, and he impatiently accepted. He asked her why she was bothering him, and the girl said it was to sign the poem on his autograph: "Do not say that life is always like a dream, what can a husband worry about?" She said the poem was carefree and she liked it, but she couldn't find it online and wanted to ask who wrote it. Liu Jing was immediately impressed; it was his own work.

The two chatted on and off for five months, sometimes for longer, sometimes shorter, just a few words whenever they bumped into each other. The content wasn't anything special, just all sorts of things, from all walks of life, even dirty jokes. Apart from their natural inclinations, they seemed to have agreed not to bring it up. Last night, Liu Jing casually suggested meeting up. The girl hesitated for a moment, gave a time and place, and then logged off like a rabbit.

Liu Jing chuckled. So shy, she must be a quiet and timid girl. Although he didn't like that type, meeting her wouldn't be bad. Meeting a beautiful woman would be appealing to any man.

"I was so stupid!" Liu Jing thought, driving, seething with anger.

The city was bustling in the evening, with many couples strolling hand in hand. The streetlights cast a soft glow, watching over the happy people. Liu Jing felt he had been too naive, too trusting, assuming others were like him, like the streetlights that would light up at a certain time. He was certain that meeting his online friend was a foolish thing to do.

"Could it be that policewoman?" Liu Jing wasn't an idiot; it was a natural thought, but he quickly dismissed it. The age didn't match. The girl's profile said she was only twenty-three, while the policewoman looked to be twenty-seven or twenty-eight. Despite his anger, after five months of chatting, he had completely trusted her.

After arriving home, Liu Jing ate something quickly and plopped down in front of the computer. He wanted to see if that deep, sweet feeling would fade away completely, or if she would just make up some silly excuse and continue pretending to be sweet with him.

He logged onto QQ, and a message notification appeared in the lower right corner. He double-clicked to open it. It was from her: "Sorry, something came up today. Same time tomorrow night, same place, if you still believe me. My phone number: 138xxxxxxxx." The message was concise, but Liu Jing's anger subsided because of the phone number; he felt it showed sincerity.

"Are you there?" Liu Jing typed a word on the keyboard.

Liu Jing waited a while, but there was no response. He wasn't surprised; they had never chatted at this time before. He saved the number in his phone, hesitated for a moment, and then pressed the dial button. The call connected, and Liu Jing's heart pounded, but he quickly ended it.

"Let's keep it a little longer," he comforted himself.

Liu Jing tossed his phone onto the bed and went to Hardware Home to read articles. Not long after, his phone rang; it was a text message. He glanced back at the bed, and his intuition told him that the message was from a girl.

"Anything, are you still angry?" It was indeed her.

Looking at the text message, Liu Jing couldn't help but smile. He thought for a moment and sent back the classic line that had once moved her: "Don't say life is always like a dream, what can a man worry about?"

"It's good that you're not angry, but what if you're disappointed in me when we meet tomorrow?" the girl replied again. Liu Jing chuckled. This girl, instead of chatting on QQ, she switched to her phone. Does texting cost nothing?

"If you disappoint me, you'll pay tomorrow night. See you tomorrow," Liu Jing replied, ending this damned form of communication. He hated texting the most; having to press each letter and search each word was too troublesome.

The girl didn't continue, and she didn't come online on QQ.

"Maybe she really has something to do. Don't be suspicious!" Liu Jing thought.

The next day, the weather was the same as usual. Liu Jing went to work as usual, and Li Desheng was still battling it out as always. Life is magical; it seems to change every day, yet it always seems the same.

"Did you enjoy it last night?" Li Desheng tilted his head. The morning sun was bright, illuminating his slightly dark circles.

"Yeah, she had something to do yesterday and couldn't go, so she's rescheduled for tonight. I need to borrow her car for another day." Not seeing her wasn't shameful, but Liu Jing still felt a little guilty, at least he didn't want others to ask.

"Didn't see her?" Li Desheng frowned, pausing the game. "What does she do? How did you meet her?"

"We met online, just a friend." Liu Jing hesitated.

"So she's just a friend!" Li Desheng's eyes immediately turned disdainful, but thankfully there was concern. "Little Liu, are you stupid? Where are the good people online? Meeting someone online is just about sleeping together, who knows how many times they've already slept with each other? You still take it seriously? Are you confused or what?"

"Don't disgust me, okay? We haven't even met yet! Not everyone is as filthy as you say!" Liu Jing frowned deeply; he really felt disgusted, even though what Li Desheng said was basically true.

"Fine! I won't say anything. Go ahead, we'll verify it again tomorrow morning and see if you can keep your so-called virginity!" Li Desheng was somewhat discouraged and even more indignant. He had introduced Liu Jing to several girls, all good girls, but none of them were as good as this online friend.

Liu Jing felt a little awkward, like there was a big fly he couldn't get rid of. If it was really as Li Desheng said, he would be disgusted to death. For so many years, he had even abstained from masturbation for that exciting moment.

Colleagues returned to work one after another, the office returned to its normal atmosphere, and Liu Jing's mood also improved. He firmly believed that the girl wasn't that kind of person. Five months had passed, and he trusted his feelings. No one would waste five months just to sleep with him.

Liu Jing forgot that perhaps no one would waste five months just to sleep with him, but after five months, it was entirely possible to sleep with him.

"Bang!" Someone burst into the room, slamming his bag onto the desk. It was his colleague, Wen Xiang. Liu Jing greeted him. This guy was good in every way, except that his appearance was a bit too sleazy, although it wasn't his fault.

"What's wrong, Lao Wen? What's got you so angry?" Li Desheng asked.

"Don't even mention it." Wen Xiang looked indignant, grabbed Li Desheng's water glass, and gulped it down. Li Desheng looked at him with concern: "What happened?"

There wasn't much water left in the glass, and Wen Xiang finished it in a few gulps, then slammed the glass down: "What else could it be! It's that order from the Municipal Youth League Committee. They said it was General Manager Zhao who was in charge, and that signing it there would be like picking up free money. I spent all day yesterday running around, bowing and scraping, saying all the nice things, and even waiting for him at the gate after work. Damn it, that brat is going to drive you crazy!"

Hearing that it was a woman, Liu Jing couldn't help but laugh. Wen Xiang had really ruined his business because of his face. Li Desheng chuckled, "So it was a woman again after all. Did you do something?"

Wen Xiang was already used to this kind of teasing. Still seething, his already lewd face became even more contorted. "I've seen through it all! Government agencies are all the same, like I owe them money. I'm going to find the manager in a bit. I quit! I'm not taking this anymore!"

Soon after, Manager Deng Jihong arrived. Wen Xiang, clutching the contract, stormed off to the manager's office. Li Desheng stared at Wen Xiang's retreating figure, then turned back with a sinister smile. "Little Liu, you're getting a good deal again."

Liu Jing awkwardly smiled ingratiatingly. Several times, the manager had assigned Wen Xiang the deals he'd ruined because of his looks—because he was the youngest and most handsome, of course, within the department. Wen Xiang understood what was going on but didn't say anything. He felt quite embarrassed, like he was being taken advantage of.

"Little Liu, the manager wants to see you!" Wen Xiang called out as he came out, then dejectedly returned to his seat.

"Understood." Liu Jing glanced at him silently and walked towards the manager's office. His colleagues' complex gazes fell upon him, and he clearly sensed the jealousy in their eyes. He wanted to comfort Lao Wen, even just pat him on the shoulder, but he knew it wasn't appropriate—neither for him nor for the time.

"Manager, you wanted to see me?" The manager's office door was open; Liu Jing knocked and entered.

"Take this and go to the Municipal Youth League Committee." Deng Jihong handed him a contract. "The Municipal Youth League Committee just built a new office building and moved in. They need to install a switchboard. It's through General Manager Zhao's connections; you'll have to go."

"Understood." Liu Jing took the contract and casually glanced at it. "Who do I contact there?" "

Officer Zheng, her name is Zheng Fangxi."

Zheng Fangxi—fragrant and alluring—Liu Jing murmured to himself. The name was beautiful, reminiscent of Song Dynasty poetry, like a refined scholar from ancient times.

Deng Jihong picked up her teacup and blew on the tea leaves. "I heard she's also a recent college graduate; you two should get along well."

"I'll go now." Liu Jing turned to leave.

"Xiao Liu!"

Liu Jing turned around and looked at his boss's face, which resembled that of his university professor of revolutionary history. It was Deng Jihong who had recruited him into the company back then, when he had just graduated and felt a sense of familiarity with that face.

Deng Jihong sighed, picked up her cup, and walked over to him. "Xiao Liu, you've been with the company for over nine months, which isn't short. I know you; you're not demanding. With your skills, finding another job wouldn't be difficult. But everyone wants a peaceful life. Dongxing is a state-owned enterprise, the workload isn't heavy, and the profits are quite good. You're still young. Since you've taken this job, put in the effort and try to make something of yourself."

"Thank you, Manager, I will."

"Alright, go ahead."

Liu Jing nodded, turned, and left, feeling somewhat ashamed. He knew the manager was disappointed in him. He was naturally easygoing and always just went through the motions at work, his performance mostly languishing at the bottom. It was only because Deng Jihong took care of him, seeing that he didn't smoke or drink, that she assigned him many easy tasks, like this one.

Liu Jing's specialty was lathe operation; finding a job with a monthly income of five or six thousand would be easy, but all of them had a probationary period. When he was looking for a job, he wanted one without a probationary period. A classmate introduced him to Dongxing Electronics, and he got the job—he couldn't believe it. It wasn't that Dongxing was particularly good, but there was only one position, and many applicants. His major wasn't relevant; several had master's degrees; and he was fresh out of school—yet he was the one who got the job! Many colleagues even thought he had special connections.

Liu Jing stayed, not for the prestige of Dongxing, a large state-owned enterprise, but for Manager Deng. A true friend is hard to find in life, and gratitude for such kindness is always appreciated.

Outside, the sun was shining brightly, the weather was clear, and Liu Jing looked up at the sky—vast and boundless, like an endless autumn. He silently told himself that he would work harder in the future, at least to save face for the manager.

"Bang!" Liu Jing slammed the car door shut and drove Li Desheng's Santana to the Municipal Youth League Committee.

The new building of the Municipal Youth League Committee had five floors, painted entirely dark brown, gloomy and menacing, making it very uncomfortable to look at. If they hung up a Japanese flag and had two Japanese soldiers with dogs at the entrance, it would look exactly like a military police unit in a movie. He couldn't understand why government offices, which were supposed to serve the people, were all set up like this, making ordinary people afraid to go there.

Liu Jing filled out a form at the entrance, asked for the location of Zheng Fangxi's office, and went straight in.

The building was very quiet, with hardly anyone in sight. The large clock in the central hall ticked dully. Liu Jing looked around nervously as he walked. On the second floor, many office doors were open, and it seemed that only one person was inside. From time to time, indifferent glances drifted out.

"Building a new building doesn't have to be so extravagant. One person, one office. It's so damn corrupt!" Liu Jing cursed inwardly.

"Achoo! Achoo! Ahhh... Achoo!" A series of crisp sneezes rang out.

The Municipal Youth League Committee had just moved in and hadn't put up any nameplates yet. Liu Jing counted, and it was the fourth office on the west side, the one he was looking for. The door was open, and a girl with a ponytail stood in front of the water dispenser, holding a water cup and playfully rubbing her nose until it was red.

Liu Jing approached: "Excuse me..."

The girl, who had just been drinking water, looked up abruptly. Their eyes met, and Liu Jing fell silent, his hand, which was about to knock, frozen in mid-air.

This girl... how to put it? If she were Zheng Fangxi, the person she was and her name were completely different. She wasn't exactly a refined lady, not even a pretty girl from a modest family. Not that she wasn't pretty, she was very pretty. Her bright eyes were sparkling, her nose small and playful, her lips plump, her forehead round, and her cheeks full and shapely. She exuded a genuine and energetic spirit, like a young cypress standing alone on a cliff, bowing down to the cold wind and snow.

This girl really didn't seem like a girl; she was a bit of a tiger, with a timid and energetic look. Liu Jing's heart trembled at the girl's genuineness and vitality.

The little tiger's bright eyes met his, and both chose not to look away, their gazes stubbornly locked. Liu Jing remained calm, his eyes gleaming with a deep joy, as if looking at something he hadn't found in a long time; the little tiger frowned slightly, her eyes defiantly meeting his. This boy was rude, yet seemingly impeccable.

The surrounding air seemed to still, the sunlight streaming through the window bathing them in a gentle glow. The encounter was so simple; before they could even process it, love had quietly arrived.

Liu Jing's chest pounded, and he reluctantly withdrew his gaze. It was time to say hello.

Before he could speak, the girl's gaze was still returning to him when suddenly her tiger-like eyes bulged like dead fish, her face flushed red, her small mouth tightened, her neck thickened, and her chest began to swell.

"Ugh...ugh..." The girl glared at him, seemingly unable to bear it any longer.

Liu Jing suddenly realized something, abruptly pulling the door shut with all his might.

"Ugh... Achoo..." The girl couldn't hold back her sneeze, spraying a mouthful of tea all over the door.

"That was close!" Hearing the sound of water droplets splashing onto the inside of the door and feeling the force of the water hitting the door, Liu Jing breathed a sigh of relief and secretly rejoiced.

He liked Little Tiger and was determined to win her over, but that didn't mean he was willing to use his body, or more precisely, his head and face, to endure her gushing spray carrying countless cold viruses.

Chapter 3: A Girlfriend

"Cough cough!... Cough!... Achoo!... Cough cough cough!" Little Tiger not only sprayed but also choked, coughing violently, occasionally interspersed with a sneeze. In the empty corridor, Zheng Fang's lung-bursting sounds echoed endlessly.

Liu Jing listened outside the door for a while until there was no movement inside before cautiously pushing the door open.

Little Tiger had her head half-lowered, holding a cup in her hand, panting heavily, her mouth, nose, and chin dripping wet, and a large patch of her heaving chest was also soaked.

Liu Jing gave a smile and nodded cautiously. The little tiger slowly raised its face, its tiger eyes slowly widening. Liu Jing suppressed a laugh and pointed. Zheng Fangxi's eyes showed a hint of panic, but she didn't lose her composure. She simply wiped her mouth a couple of times with her hand, then suddenly shook her head, her round nose and chubby cheeks contorting playfully and vividly.

So cute, shaking her head like she had just eaten or woken up.

Liu Jing smiled and leaned in: "Little tiger, I know you're very angry right now, wishing you could blame everything on me, but I must say, I'm innocent. I have no responsibility to take the tea you sprayed on my face, even though I'm very thirsty. But if you can calmly listen to me for a bit, I promise I'll give you a good reason to prove that my actions were not only out of my innocence but also for your sake."

Liu Jing rambled on, sincerely calling her by the adorable nickname "little tiger." Zheng Fangxi's expression showed no signs of softening, and water droplets continued to drip from her chin, but thankfully she didn't take any drastic action.

Liu Jing, shameless, squeezed through the door and continued, "Excuse me, my name is Liu Jing, from the Dongxing Electronics Sales Department. I'm here to discuss a switchboard contract with you. If you just sprayed me with water, you'll inevitably feel guilty towards me. In our upcoming negotiations, you might make a choice that's detrimental to your side, which would undoubtedly contradict both your company's interests and my company's consistent principle of integrity. Considering both of our perspectives, closing the door is the only option I can take. Fortunately, I'm quick-witted."

Zheng Fangxi's expression changed again, as if she was about to pounce, ready to pin him down.

Liu Jing wanted to take a step back, but behind him was the door panel that had been sprayed with water, so he had no choice but to straighten his chest: "Little tiger, if you really want to vent your anger, then eat me now!" He didn't want to offend his future wife, at least not now.

Whether moved by the nickname "little tiger," touched by Liu Jing's fearless spirit, or persuaded by his previous twisted logic, Zheng Fangxi's expression finally thawed. Although it was somewhat unnatural, she still pointed to the sofa next to her. "Sit down."

"Thank you." Liu Jing straightened his chest, adjusted his clothes, and sat down to the side. "Ugh~ Uh ah~!"

Liu Jing sat bolt upright as if on cue, his face filled with shock. Ugh! What kind of sofa is this? It actually makes the sound of a woman moaning! Although he lacked experience in that area, he was familiar with this sound. Damn it, the Municipal Youth League Committee can even change its office building, but can't they at least get some decent furniture?

Zheng Fangxi, used to it, remained unmoved, wiping the water from her face and chest with a towel.

"Damn sofa!" Liu Jing could only awkwardly maintain his posture, half-sitting, half-sitting, afraid of making any more inappropriate noises.

With nothing else to do, Liu Jing began to observe his future wife's office.

Desks and chairs, brand-name computers, metal drawers, a small bed, and the sofa beneath him—like many government offices, Zheng Fangxi's office had nothing special. The only difference was the sheer number of potted plants—at least thirty. Many government offices don't have much work, so civil servants often keep plants to pass the time, but usually only three or five pots. It was the height of spring, the season of blooming flowers. The entire office, from the windowsills to the desks, the floor, the tops of cabinets, and the corners, was ablaze with color and fragrance. In this respect, it did indeed suit the name Fangxi.

Zheng Fangxi finished wiping herself, picked up her water glass again, took a pill from the table, and prepared to take it. Liu Jing glanced at it; the pill looked like the white of a black medicine.

The room was filled with a strong floral scent, and Liu Jing wrinkled her nose. Suddenly, a thought struck her, and she quickly shouted, "Stop!"

Zheng Fangxi, holding her water glass with her mouth open, was about to throw the pill in when she heard this. Startled, she stopped, but the water in the glass and the pill in her hand flew out due to inertia. Liu Jing watched as the small white pill hit her eyelid, splashing tea all over her face and head.

"Ouch!" The tea was very hot; Zheng Fangxi instinctively flinched, but still cried out in pain from the burn.

Liu Jing grinned mischievously as his future wife suffered a terrible ordeal. Zheng Fangxi, enraged, smeared some medicine on her face: "Are you sick?!"

"I'm not sick, and neither are you," Liu Jing said politely, walking up to her. "Medicine has side effects; why would you take medicine when you're perfectly fine?"

"What did you say?" Zheng Fangxi, her wet bangs obscuring her eyes, didn't bother to speak. She put down her cup, rubbed her face with both hands to spread the water, and pushed her wet bangs back.

Liu Jing watched quietly, feeling the warmth flowing gently in his heart. The little tiger's actions were amusing, unpretentious; he liked it from the bottom of his heart.

Zheng Fangxi sighed and looked at him again, her gaze neither friendly nor malicious.

Liu Jing met her gaze and silently picked up a towel from the side and handed it to her. Zheng Fangxi glanced at him sideways, grabbed the flower, and rubbed it against his face: "Tell me, what other reasons do you have for both of us?"

The little tiger was quick to learn, Liu Jing laughed: "This time it has nothing to do with 'both of us,' it's mainly about you. It's not easy to catch a cold this season, it's probably because you have too many flowers here, and you're allergic to pollen."

"How do you know?" The little tiger was skeptical, but reasonable enough.

"I guessed, because my mom has this problem too." Liu Jing nodded slightly, smiling amiably, "If you don't believe me, you can move the flowers outside first. If you don't sneeze anymore, then it proves I guessed right."

"Hmm, maybe it really is, I sneezed in the office." Zheng Fangxi nodded seriously, then said, "Hey, you're here right now, help me move them."

"Okay." Liu Jing was slightly taken aback. Are girls born with the ability to give orders? It came so naturally, but he was willing to serve his future wife.

Zheng Fangxi put the towel aside, casually picked up two potted plants from the ground, and Liu Jing joined her. Little Tiger pointed, "Hey, don't move these! You're tall, move the ones on top of the cabinet first."

Since they had to be moved anyway, it didn't matter which one first. Liu Jing shook his head, turned around, grabbed a pot from the top of the cabinet, and followed Zheng Fangxi to place the flowers on the windowsill in the corridor.

"Hey, don't put them here, put them on that windowsill, two pots per windowsill."

Liu Jing obediently placed them there. After moving the pots from the top of the cabinet, Liu Jing joined her again, and Little Tiger came again, "Hey, put that one down! You pick the bigger one, leave the smaller one for me!"

"Oh, okay." Liu Jing didn't say a word. He understood that loving someone came at a price.

Zheng Fangxi carried the two pots out again, and Liu Jing quickly followed, the two walking side by side. Zheng Fangxi glanced at him, frowned, and said, "You're a grown man, why do you only carry one pot every time?"

"Well, because I want to carry it a little longer." Liu Jing was very honest, and shamelessly nudged her with his elbow, "Why don't you carry one too, so you can carry it a little longer."

Zheng Fangxi pouted, "If you like carrying so much, I won't carry any next time, you can carry it all by yourself."

"No way!" Liu Jing quickly said, "If it weren't for you, who would like to carry flowers? It's so tiring!"

"You're the one who's tired, not me." Zheng Fangxi wrinkled her nose and leaned closer. Liu Jing was a little confused. This girl, always so thoughtful, was so lovable.

On the way back, Zheng Fangxi hesitated for a moment, but still took two pots, while Liu Jing insisted on taking one. Zheng Fangxi frowned, handed over a pot, and said, "Anyway, it's three pots per trip, why don't you take two and I'll take one?"

"Okay." This girl, so calculating, Liu Jing reluctantly took it. Zheng Fangxi smiled, like a peach blossom blooming in the spring breeze. "

I'm not taking two pots!" Liu Jing quickly put down one pot and chased after the little tiger. Zheng Fangxi glanced at it and gave a light snort. Liu Jing was secretly pleased. "Ha, so it was to give me an opportunity!

" "Officer Zheng, where did you get so many flowers?" Time was limited, so Liu Jing started a conversation. Zheng Fangxi waved her hand and sighed, "They were all thrown away when I moved. I thought it was a waste, so I picked them up. I didn't expect to be so unlucky."

"You can't say that. At least you know me now, and you've had a chance to communicate." Liu Jing flashed a bright smile; he couldn't believe how thick-skinned he was.

"You? Pshaw!" Zheng Fangxi was extremely disdainful. Liu Jing didn't care and tried to get closer with a grin: "By the way, Officer Zheng, I heard you graduated last year, and so did I. Where did you graduate from?"

"You know quite a lot?" Zheng Fangxi seemed a little surprised.

“That’s right, understanding my clients is one of my responsibilities.” Liu Jing placed the flowers on the windowsill and politely extended his right hand to the girl.

Zheng Fangxi handed him the flowers, sizing him up and said, “Then let me ask you, how did you know my name is Little Tiger?”

“I…” Liu Jing almost dropped the flowers in his hand. “You’re really called Little Tiger? I was just saying, I just felt you were! Looks like we… hey, we really are destined.”

Zheng Fangxi stared at him for a while: “Listen, I don’t know where you found out, but don’t try to act in front of me, it won’t work.” After saying that, she quickly walked towards her office.

“I…” What was I acting? Liu Jing, feeling completely innocent, hurriedly caught up with her, "Officer Zheng, what I just said was the truth."

"Tch, I don't believe you!" Zheng Fangxi spat, "Even if you're a competent salesperson, there's no need to use such an old-fashioned method? Creating a coincidence! How vulgar are you?"

Liu Jing felt truly wronged and simply stepped in front of her: "Fangxi, listen to me, no matter what you think, whether you admit it or not, it's completely true, our meeting was just a coincidence!"

"I'm speechless, are you even capable?!" Zheng Fangxi was both amused and exasperated, "Please, we've only just met, only a few minutes ago, and you're already calling me by my name? A coincidence, you say? Aren't you disgusting?" After saying that, she took a step around him, trying to walk away.

"I'm the one who's dizzy!" Liu Jing blocked his way again, gesturing wildly. "Look at you, look at your forehead, your nose, your eyes, your face, and your big ears! You're all so tiger-like! Is it wrong to call you Little Tiger? Besides, if you hadn't chased my colleague away yesterday, the contract would have been signed long ago. How could I have gotten here? Isn't this just a coincidence?"

Zheng Fangxi looked at him, seemingly somewhat convinced, and lowered her head to walk into the office, this time carrying a basin.

Liu Jing grabbed a basin and turned back to chase after her. Zheng Fangxi stopped and said patiently, "Whether what you're saying is true or not, after I move everything, I'll sign the contract for you. You better leave now and don't disgust me again!"

"Why are you doing this!" Liu Jing was disappointed and couldn't help but ask, "Do you have a boyfriend?"

"Of course I do!" Zheng Fangxi glared at him and walked away angrily.

Liu Jing felt as if he had been doused with a bucket of cold water from head to toe, feeling chilled to the bone. Although it happened so suddenly and he hadn't prepared for it, it was the first time he had publicly pursued a girl.

Zheng Fangxi ignored him, put the flowers down, and walked back to her office. Liu Jing sighed, put the flowers down, and followed her back. This time, he took two pots. Zheng Fangxi glanced at them, letting out a cold laugh, seemingly disdainful and indifferent.

The two didn't speak again, going in and out of the corridor again and again, with people peeking and staring along the way. On the last trip, Liu Jing, carrying a large pot of flowers, walked dejectedly beside Zheng Fangxi. Time flies so fast; he wished he could stay like this forever.

A middle-aged man came up the stairs and suddenly said, "Hey, Xiao Zheng, when did you get a boyfriend? And you're even using the company as a labor force!"

The two were taken aback, but their feelings were completely different. Liu Jing was overjoyed, feeling incredibly happy! Little Tiger didn't have a boyfriend; this was simply a match made in heaven!

Zheng Fangxi was embarrassed and hurriedly said, "No, Director Hao, he..."

"Oh, it's Director Hao!" Liu Jing suddenly stepped forward, beaming with enthusiasm. "Director Hao, hello! My name is Liu Jing, and I'm Fangxi's boyfriend. Oh, I'm sorry, my hands are too dirty, so I won't shake your hand!"

Zheng Fangxi was dumbfounded; she had never seen such a shameless person!

"It's alright, it's alright, no need to be so polite." Director Hao looked him up and down and chuckled, "Comrade Liu, you're quite lucky! Fangxi is young, beautiful, and capable; she's the best girl in our Municipal Youth League Committee!"

"Please don't say that. Fangxi just started working and doesn't have much experience yet. There are bound to be many things she can't do. Please don't hold back; criticize her if necessary!" Liu Jing was completely in character, so generous.

"Hehe, not at all! Fangxi's work has always been excellent!" Director Hao was thorough and friendly. "Alright, I'll go upstairs now, I won't keep you any

longer." "Then please take care." Liu Jing, carrying a flowerpot, nodded repeatedly.

"Hehe, no need to be so polite. Fangxi, bring your boyfriend home sometime!" Director Hao turned back as he walked, even more generous than Liu Jing.

"Mmm-hmm." Zheng Fangxi's face flushed red, her eyes wide with disbelief, she actually gave a wooden reply.

"Director Hao, take care, goodbye!" Liu Jing was so happy he couldn't stop smiling.

Director Hao truly lived up to his reputation as a good director; Liu Jing had managed to snag a girlfriend, and he turned back with endless感慨 (feelings of deep emotion). Zheng Fangxi's hair and beard stood on end, her chest heaving, her tiger-like eyes practically spitting fire.

Liu Jing was terrified, and forced a smile, "Little tiger, calm down, listen to me first, I..."

"Shameless!" Zheng Fangxi spat out the two words through gritted teeth, and with a whoosh, smashed the flowerpot in her hand. The little tiger had finally unleashed its fury!

Chapter Four: If I Were Wu Song

Liu Jing was shocked. The flowerpot was ceramic, and with the soil inside, it must have weighed four or five pounds. If it hit him, he'd be half-dead! He instinctively reached out to catch it, and actually caught it! "Haha... Ah!"

Liu Jing's joy turned to sorrow; a sudden, sharp pain shot through his right foot, followed by a scream! It turned out Liu Jing was too hasty. Although he caught the small flowerpot thrown by the little tiger, he forgot about the large flowerpot in his hand. It was a huge Monstera deliciosa, weighing no less than twenty pounds including the plant, pot, and soil, not even counting the acceleration of free fall.

Liu Jing's piercing screams echoed through the empty corridor. He grimaced in pain, threw down the small flowerpot, and started jumping wildly while clutching his right foot.

Zheng Fangxi hadn't expected this outcome and panicked immediately. She gasped and covered her mouth, only regaining her composure after a long while before rushing forward to support him. "Hey, are you alright? Are you okay?"

"Okay? Try smashing that big flowerpot!" Liu Jing said angrily.

"How can you blame me? Why don't you say you..."

Liu Jing kept screaming and jumping, throwing the flowerpot again. Many people from the offices came out, peeking and looking around. "Let's sit over there for a bit," Zheng Fangxi quickly stopped her half-finished sentence and helped him walk towards the steps.

Liu Jing, who was all bark and no bite, was supported and helped by Zheng Fangxi. His anger vanished, and his whole body went limp. Fortunately, he was still relatively clear-headed. Instead of grabbing her hand, he took her forearm and limped to sit down on the stairs.

"Take a look at your feet?" Zheng Fangxi sat down beside him awkwardly, not without apology.

Liu Jing tenderly took off his leather shoes—his new Gilda shoes that cost over six hundred yuan. Pulling down his socks, his feet were red and swollen, with faint bruises. Zheng Fangxi peeked at them and grinned sheepishly.

Liu Jing sighed, annoyed, "Hey little tiger, even if you really are a tiger, you can't be this reckless! If that flowerpot had hit me on the head, you'd be criminally liable!"

Zheng Fangxi covered her mouth and chuckled, "Don't you know yourself? Clumsy as ever, holding that big flowerpot without even realizing it, reaching out to catch it—couldn't you have dodged it?"

Liu Jing's face flushed slightly, "But you shouldn't have thrown the flowerpot! That was too reckless!"

"How dare you say that!" Zheng Fangxi's face hardened, glaring at him, "Who told you to be so shameless, talking to our director like that? How am I supposed to face anyone now?"

"What's there to be ashamed of? You don't have a boyfriend." Liu Jing argued.

"Who told you I don't have a boyfriend!" Zheng Fangxi stretched her neck, unyielding.

Liu Jing patiently said, "What your director just said clearly meant you don't have a boyfriend. I'm not stupid; do you think I can't understand something like that?"

"So what? Can't I just break up with him?"

"If you break up, then you're gone!"

"What does it matter to you whether I have a boyfriend or not!" Zheng Fangxi said indignantly, then ignored him.

Liu Jing sighed and leaned closer to her head: "Fangxi, I admit it was a bit hasty, but didn't we just end up talking like this? Really, the moment I saw you at the door, I liked you. It's genuine. Let's just go with the flow; it's fate."

Liu Jing spoke sincerely, especially his slightly melancholic eyes, which had a poetic air about them. This made the little tiger a little flustered; his eyes darted around, and his upper body shifted restlessly.

"Don't give me that!" Zheng Fangxi dodged him, spitting at him. "We've only known each other for a little over ten minutes, how could that be?"

"Does the length of time really matter?" Liu Jing leaned closer, continuing to press. "Some people stay together forever, some feel like old friends at first sight. Look at us now, we get along so well! That's why I keep saying we're destined for each other."

"That's still not enough!" Zheng Fangxi tilted her head, raising it high. "Let me tell you the truth, lots of people want to date me, and you're the dumbest one. Why should I choose you?"

Liu Jing retorted, "What's your basis? Did you test my IQ or something? I'm the most sincere one, why don't you say that?"

"Tch! You're more like the thickest-skinned and shameless one." Liu Jing leaned forward, their bodies almost touching. Zheng Fangxi had to turn around, leaving only half her bottom on the stairs, no longer able to find an angle.

Liu Jing turned back, fiddling with his foot. "Little Tiger, I know you girls are shy. Agreeing on the first meeting seems a bit undignified. It's okay, we can date for a while, and once you're used to it, we can define our relationship."

"You want to date for a while? Dream on!" Zheng Fangxi blushed, stubbornly retorting, "Don't even think about it. Once your foot's better, I'll sign the contract for you, and you'd better leave. Don't let me see you again."

"That's not up to you." Liu Jing glanced at her, saying calmly, "You're my girlfriend now, and I won't let you go. You should adjust your mindset and wait to be my wife."

"You…you can forget about it!" Zheng Fangxi's brows furrowed, her face shifting rapidly, trembling with anger. She wasn't truly angry, but rather indignant. She'd rejected countless suitors, but she'd never met such an infuriating guy, utterly shameless, especially his manner of speaking—as if he controlled everything, and she was just a fish on a chopping board. They'd only met once, so why should he?

Liu Jing, nonchalant, nudged her with his elbow: "It's no use being angry. It's bound to happen sooner or later."

"Tch," Zheng Fangxi huffed, unsure what to say.

The large clock in the central hall continued its listless swinging. The two sat on the stairs, one grinning, the other seething with anger, like a pair of lovers feigning rage.

Director Hao came down from upstairs again, seeing a large flowerpot overturned and a small one broken in the hall, and exclaimed, "Oh, what happened? They've been fighting for so long?"

The two turned around, quickly standing up. Liu Jing's feet hurt, and he was unsteady, instinctively reaching for the person next to him. Zheng Fangxi, deflated, reluctantly helped him up.

"Oh, you're here!" Director Hao turned around and saw the two of them, pointing to the ground. "What's wrong, Xiao Zheng? Did you get into a fight with your boyfriend?"

"No, no!" The two waved their hands repeatedly. Zheng Fangxi glanced at Liu Jing and grinned awkwardly. "He... he accidentally got hit by a flowerpot. I'm helping him sit up for a bit!"

"Really? Is it serious?" Director Hao stepped forward to examine him. "Oh dear, it's swollen so much! Let's go to the hospital quickly. I'll use my car!"

"No need, no need!" The two refused in unison.

"Hey! Don't be so polite." Director Hao waved his hand generously. "Xiao Zheng, Liu is your boyfriend, he's the son-in-law of our Municipal Youth League Committee, aren't we family?"

Zheng Fangxi was both embarrassed and ashamed, her face red and swollen, not knowing what to do. Liu Jing was secretly delighted, but he didn't want the little tiger to be too embarrassed, so he said, "Thank you, Director Hao, I'm really fine, I'll be fine after some exercise."

"Alright then." Director Hao was afraid the two would feel awkward, so he didn't insist any further. "Xiao Zheng, quickly help Xiao Liu to the office, apply a hot towel to his feet, and then go to the infirmary to get some medicine to apply. Don't let him sit on the stairs like that."

"I understand, thank you, Director." Zheng Fangxi nodded, pouting as she glanced at Liu Jing.

After Director Hao left, Liu Jing exclaimed, "Fangxi, your Director Hao... he's such a good person!" Zheng Fangxi was feeling wronged and wanted to lash out, but after looking at his feet, she held back.

Liu Jing whispered in her ear, "Little tiger, just accept your fate. I'm the Wu Song sent by heaven to subdue you!"

Zheng Fangxi held back her anger and took a deep breath. "Say whatever you want. It's your business if you like to dream. I'm not going to argue with you because you're injured. But listen carefully, whatever you do is in vain."

Liu Jing teased, "Then why didn't you tell Director Hao that I'm not your boyfriend? You were already happy about it, but you just couldn't bring yourself to do it."

"You think everyone is like you, acting without considering other people's feelings! If it weren't for you helping me move things for so long, I wouldn't have let you get away with it!" Zheng Fangxi pointed at his nose and launched into a tirade, her anger blazing.

Liu Jing was speechless, feeling a pang of guilt. He knew he had gone too far, shameless beyond words, but he still believed that true love only needed to happen once in a lifetime. The moment their eyes met, that feeling had already begun. Otherwise, why wouldn't she sign the contract and rudely chase him away when Wen Xiang hadn't offended her?

"Let's go," Zheng Fangxi nudged him, grabbing his arm.

"Thank you!" Liu Jing said sincerely.

In the empty, desolate corridor, the two supported each other, the air following their footsteps, the lingering fragrance of flowers ahead.

Zheng Fangxi lowered her head, looking aggrieved and resentful. Liu Jing couldn't bear it and said softly, "Little Tiger, don't be angry. I didn't mean to upset you; I just like you so much. If… you'd let me be Wu Song, I'd let you bully me for the rest of my life."

Zheng Fangxi didn't speak, her gaze and brows furrowing slightly, as if something had touched her.

Back in the office, Zheng Fangxi helped him to the sofa, poured a basin of hot water and placed it at his feet, then put a towel aside. "Soak your feet for a while first, I'll tidy up the central hall and then get your medicine."

"Thank you." A hint of pity flickered in Zheng Fangxi's eyes, making Liu Jing's heart ache.

Zheng Fangxi silently turned and walked towards the door.

"Fangxi," Liu Jing called out.

Zheng Fangxi turned back, and Liu Jing gazed into her eyes: "My foot is fine now, I can walk by myself, you don't need the medicine."

"Liar." A blush crossed Zheng Fangxi's pretty face, she muttered a soft curse, stomped her foot, and left.

Liu Jing smiled; the little tiger was happy again, and he was happy too.

Chapter Five: This young man has a future

. The office without flowers was much cleaner, at least more considerate. This wasn't surprising; the essence of life lies in harmony. Does soaking feet in the office count as harmony? Probably not, but that doesn't matter, just as love doesn't become reserved because of rejection.

The water was slightly hot, not a very suitable temperature. The injured area of his right foot throbbed and ached in the water, but Liu Jing liked it, just like his newly begun love, simple yet intense.

A small cell phone lay on the desk; it belonged to Little Tiger. Liu Jing pulled out his right foot, hopped over on one leg without even wiping it. It was a dark Philips. Liu Jing dialed his number, the familiar ringtone sounded, he quickly hung up, and then saved the number. After doing all this, Liu Jing hopped back onto the sofa, his heart filled with a sweet, blossoming joy.

"I'm going to have a girlfriend!" Liu Jing touched the phone in his pocket, a sweet and wistful feeling welling up inside him. A dream he'd chased for years had arrived so unexpectedly; love really was something else.

Hmm, it seemed Little Tiger hadn't agreed yet. Never mind, it'd already begun. Liu Jing was absolutely certain of this, and Zheng Fangxi had no reason to deny it.

The door opened, and the fragrance of flowers drifted into the corridor on the breeze—faint, yet lingering. Zheng Fangxi returned, tossing him a bottle of medicine and a plaster: "These are all we have in the infirmary, make do with these."

"Thank you!" Liu Jing picked up the medicine, looked at it, and said, "Isn't this gentian violet?! What kind of thing is this?" Zheng Fangxi tilted her head, indicating helplessness: "It's good enough that we have it, whether you use it or not is up to you."

"Never mind, I'll just use this." Liu Jing picked up the plaster beside him. Zheng Fangxi stared at his foot, then said, "You can use this for now, give me the contract, I'll go find the director to sign it."

"Okay." Liu Jing took the contract out of his bag, silently handed it over, feeling a little sad. Zheng Fangxi took it casually, but didn't grasp it. Liu Jing clenched the contract, looking at her wistfully: "Little Tiger, now that the contract is signed, I should go."

Zheng Fangxi turned her head away impatiently, the wind outside making her bangs messy. "Are you going to sign or not?" Liu Jing reluctantly let go of her hand. Zheng Fangxi smoothed her hair and quickly went out.

Liu Jing applied the plaster, got up and took a few steps. Although it still hurt, he felt much better. Zheng Fangxi quickly returned, took out the stamp from the metal cabinet, breathed on it, and stamped it with a few quick slaps.

Liu Jing stood silently to the side, a faint sadness in his eyes. Zheng Fangxi walked up to him and said expressionlessly, "I've signed your contract. We're even now."

Liu Jing took it, looked down at it, and his eyes showed deep reluctance. "Little Tiger, I really have to go. Can't you say something?" Zheng Fangxi was helpless and spread her hands. "I've said it a thousand times, it's impossible! What else do you want?"

"But you should at least consider it! You didn't even think it through!" Liu Jing stretched his neck, looking very indignant.

“How can I expect my own words to be considered as having been thought through?” Zheng Fangxi felt like she was going crazy. She rushed to her seat, pointed at him, and said, “You came here to sign a contract, and you want a girlfriend the moment you meet me? I’ve never seen anyone like you before, are you crazy?”

Liu Jing didn’t speak, just watched her from a distance. Zheng Fangxi sat down in her chair, turned her head to the side, and breathed heavily. The air around them swirled.

“I’m sorry, I’ve put you in a difficult position.” Liu Jing’s expression was extremely serious. He silently turned around and limped away.

Zheng Fangxi frowned until Liu Jing was far away before turning back. The door was still open, the wind was blowing, and the corridor was empty except for the flowers on the windowsill, blooming quietly. She finally breathed a sigh of relief and picked up her water glass.

Not long after, her phone rang. It was a text message. Zheng Fangxi picked it up weakly: “Little Tiger, I love you.” She was slightly startled and unconsciously looked towards the door.

The wind was still there, the flowers were still there, but the person was gone.

"That shameless bastard, when did he steal my phone number?" Zheng Fangxi gritted her teeth, wanting to delete the text message, but faced with those simple six words, she stopped, hesitating again and again, until, almost unconsciously, she scrolled down two spaces and swiped to the save bar.

Realizing this, Zheng Fangxi's heart pounded, and she frowned as she pressed her thumb down.

The phone screen switched to input mode, and her fingers froze again: "Right, what's this guy's name again?" She frantically flipped through the contract beside her.

Liu Jing slowly peeked out from outside the door: "Hey! You're looking for my name, right? My name is Liu Jing, the 'Jing' in 'longing'."

Zheng Fangxi looked up abruptly, instantly embarrassed, her face turning bright red. Liu Jing, holding the phone, walked in with a wicked grin: "Now you know, you're hopelessly in love with me."

"You...you...you..." Zheng Fangxi stared at the contract in her left hand and the phone in her right, at a loss for words.

"Speechless now, aren't you?" Liu Jing stood by the door, extremely smug. Zheng Fangxi's pretty face changed several times, finally turning into a fit of anger and embarrassment. With a sharp rebuke, she flung her phone away.

"Hey!" Liu Jing reacted quickly, tossing her bag with her left hand and catching it precisely, thankfully without throwing her own phone.

Zheng Fangxi turned her head away in infinite pain, her expression a mixture of grievance and dejection, helplessness and resignation. Liu Jing picked up the bag and placed it aside, then plopped down on her desk.

"What are you doing?" Zheng Fangxi's face hardened again, her tone fierce

but her heart weak. Liu Jing held up her phone, looking into her eyes, and said, "Fangxi, stop lying to yourself. We've already sensed it. Is it really that important whether it's the first time we met?"

"You're talking nonsense!" Zheng Fangxi felt confused, as if a tangled mess was weighing on her mind.

"I'm not talking nonsense." Liu Jing looked at her deeply, her expression firm and sincere. “Don’t think I’m easy. This is the first time I’ve pursued a girl. There are plenty of girls prettier than you. The reason I’m doing this to you is because I never hide my feelings. I like your uniqueness, your energy, your frankness, and your adorable, quirky personality. I like it all.”

“You…” Zheng Fangxi gasped, looking at his aggressive gaze, a pleading look appearing in her eyes. Liu Jing stared straight at her, firm and domineering, showing no sign of stopping.

Their gazes clashed and intertwined, their breaths mingling in a silent exchange. Zheng Fangxi finally lowered her eyes, turning her head to the side, an expression that was heartbreaking.

“Fangxi, don’t hesitate?” Liu Jing tugged at her, calling softly.

“Shut up and get out of here!” Zheng Fangxi turned away abruptly, closing her eyes and covering her ears.

The little tiger ignored him. Liu Jing grew impatient and grabbed both of her hands.

Zheng Fangxi pulled hard, but couldn't pull back. She stubbornly said, "Let go of me!"

Liu Jing looked down at the two soft hands in his hands and suddenly said, "Look at your hands."

"Why?"

"Look."

"After looking, what do you think?" Zheng Fangxi lowered her head, looking at him in confusion.

Liu Jing said slowly in a gentle tone, "If the lines on a person's palm are simple, their heart will also be simple. That's you."

Zheng Fangxi felt dizzy, pulled her hands back, and said weakly, "Liu Jing, I give up. Please stop pressuring me. What do you want from me?"

"I won't let you go, but I'll give you time to think it over." Liu Jing looked at her questioningly. "I'm serious. Think about it carefully."

Zheng Fangxi was extremely frustrated and utterly deflated. "Please, we've only just met. Don't you think this is absurd?"

"That's why I'm letting you think it over." Liu Jing also felt tired, and the little tiger's appearance made his heart ache. “Fangxi, I’m not disrespecting you, nor am I forcing you, but this is a major life event, not the time for impulsive decisions. If we miss this opportunity, not only me, but we will all regret it!”

Zheng Fangxi looked at him expectantly, her expression one of deep distress. The poor girl was completely overwhelmed.

Liu Jing stared at her and continued, “Little Tiger, I’m not comfortable with you like this either, but if you don’t give me a clear answer, I can’t leave this room in peace! I’m begging you, please consider it, okay?”

“You’ve given me a thumbs up? You’re just considering it?” Zheng Fangxi looked up at him, cautiously probing.

“Yes.” Liu Jing nodded, a wave of tension washing over him. “However, you can’t just brush me off, and the result of your consideration… can’t disappoint me.”

“You…” Zheng Fangxi was almost furious. “Aren’t you still forcing me?”

“Well, I suppose so.” Liu Jing grinned. “At worst, I’ll promise you, I’ll only force you this once in my life.”

Zheng Fangxi’s head was spinning, her mind a jumble of thoughts, and she remained silent.

"Little Tiger!" Liu Jing tugged at his sleeve. "Say something, or at least nod?"

Zheng Fangxi couldn't take it anymore. She closed her eyes tightly, gritted her teeth, and finally nodded heavily.

"You agreed?" Liu Jing was stunned for a moment, then overjoyed, grabbing the girl's shoulders. He had only one thought: to hug this little tiger and throw it into the sky.

"Hey, don't be so conceited!" Zheng Fangxi struggled to her feet, pointing at him. "Listen to me, I only agreed to consider it, I won't guarantee you any results!"

Liu Jing was taken aback, muttering, "This...this is still..."

"Still what? I'm already being generous by agreeing to consider it! If you're in such a hurry, go find someone else. I'm too lazy to consider it!" Zheng Fangxi raised her chin, looking at him defiantly, finally regaining some of her momentum.

Liu Jing regained his composure and nodded, saying, "It's okay, I don't think it makes any difference. I can always force you again later!"

"You..." Zheng Fangxi was furious and shoved him hard. "Get out of here! Don't let me see you again!"

"No problem." Liu Jing grinned and leaned closer. "Can I kiss you before I leave?"

"You want a kiss? Fine, I'll let you!" Zheng Fangxi's eyes narrowed, and she stomped on him. Caught off

guard, Liu Jing's injured right foot was struck squarely. He screamed and jumped away, clutching his leg!

Zheng Fangxi breathed a sigh of relief, hands on her hips, smug.

"You win! Wait until you're my wife, then see how I deal with you!" Liu Jing limped to the door, spouting meaningless threats.

"Think about it!" Zheng Fangxi grabbed something and threw it at him.

Liu Jing slammed the door shut. With a "bang," the official seal of the Municipal Youth League Committee slammed against the inside of the door, thankfully without breaking. Poor inside door!

"Ah!" Zheng Fangxi exclaimed, covering her mouth. She had been reckless again.

Liu Jing patted his chest outside the door, peeking in with a startled look on his face: "Little tiger, you're always acting like a tiger, I can't be bothered with you anymore. I'm leaving, I'll call you tomorrow, remember to dress nicely for your date!"

"You..." Zheng Fangxi was furious, her little head darting around, wanting to find something to throw at him. But Liu Jing didn't give her the chance, quickly closing the door. This time, he was really leaving.

Zheng Fangxi stomped her foot, picked up the seal, slammed the door shut, and locked it before angrily returning to her seat.

"That annoying guy, acting like he's going to die after just one meeting, so awful!" Zheng Fangxi gritted her teeth in hatred, thinking about how he almost sold her off, she was extremely angry and felt so wronged she wanted to cry.

Having signed the contract and even managed to snag a girlfriend, Liu Jing walked out of the Municipal Youth League Committee gate with a sense of accomplishment, got into his car, and drove away. Outside the window, the clouds were light and the spring weather was charmingly alluring. For the first time in nine months, Liu Jing found the sky in S City so captivating. Well, no, there's only one sky.

Back at the company, Liu Jing parked his car and, ignoring his aching feet, jogged to the manager's office, greeting everyone he knew and didn't know along the way with unwavering enthusiasm.

"Manager, I'm back."

"Is the contract signed?" Deng Jihong looked up from his laptop. "Yes ,

it's signed." Liu Jing handed over the contract. "

Hmm, not bad, not a single word changed." Deng Jihong glanced at it casually, then handed it back, saying, "This deal was initiated by General Manager Zhao. Take this to him and, if it's convenient, find an opportunity to give him a proper reward." General Manager Zhao's name was Zhao Tonghai, thirty-two years old, and his position was Deputy General Manager. However, the General Manager was the Vice Chairman of the Board at the D City headquarters, so he was the de facto head of the S City branch.

"I understand." Liu Jing took the contract. He knew this was the manager giving him an opportunity to curry favor.

"Go now."

"Okay, manager, I'm off then." Liu Jing turned around and limped out.

Deng Jihong pushed up his glasses and asked curiously, "Xiao Liu, what happened to your foot? Why are you limping?"

"I got bitten by a tiger!" Liu Jing threw down the words, closed the door, and left.

"That kid, what nonsense is he talking about?" Deng Jihong shook his head and continued working at his computer.

Liu Jing was excited and didn't even take the elevator, running up to the top floor in one go. As usual, he went to the secretary's office first to inquire. President Zhao had two secretaries, a female secretary named Bai Ge, who was quite pretty; and a male secretary named Sun Xi, who was a cunning fellow.

Liu Jing knocked on the door, and after hearing a response, he pushed it open. Bai Ge wasn't there, only Sun Xi was there.

"Brother Sun, is President Zhao in?" Liu Jing asked, standing at the door.

"Oh, Xiao Liu." Secretary Sun raised his pale face and said in a sarcastic tone, "What is it?"

"To deliver something to him." Liu Jing didn't want to waste words and waved the contract in his hand. For some reason, he felt extremely uncomfortable whenever he saw Sun Xi's face. It wasn't just the lifeless look, but also his features; they looked like they'd undergone countless plastic surgeries, forcibly slapped on.

"Hmm, he's not here. Just put the things on his desk." A barely perceptible glint flashed in Secretary Sun's eyes as she lowered her head to continue her work.

"Okay, you're busy." Liu Jing closed the door and left.

Secretary Sun slowly raised her head, a sinister smile playing on her lips.

President Zhao's office was diagonally opposite the secretary's office. Liu Jing didn't think twice, pushed open the door, and went in, but once inside, she froze, the contract in her hand slowly falling to the ground. The situation was completely different. President Zhao was not only there, but Secretary Bai was also there, the two engaged in the most primal human warm-up exercise.

Secretary Bai sat at her desk, her face flushed, her shirt open, her bra pushed up to her neck, revealing her large, white, and tender breasts. Her thighs were spread wide in a lewd manner, and her pink panties hung from her ankles, clad in high heels. President Zhao, wearing a shirt, thrust out his large, fat buttocks, his large, dark, and ugly member looming crookedly amidst Secretary Bai's haphazardly spread pubic hair, disgusting vaginal fluid dripping from his scrotum onto the floor.

The sudden change stunned all three. President Zhao pouted, and Bai Ge even forgot to scream. One second, two seconds, three seconds… the three stared at each other, frozen for a full five seconds.

“Damn it, there’s nobody here! Sun Xi, you little bastard, you fucking tricked me!” Liu Jing was the first to react, deliberately cursing loudly, seizing the opportunity to betray Secretary Sun, then picking up the contract from the floor and quickly leaving, not forgetting to close the door behind him.

The two people inside finally came to their senses. Looking at Secretary Bai, who was being penetrated, President Zhao suddenly pointed to the door and shouted, "See that? See that? This young man has potential, absolutely potential!"

Chapter Six: It's All Because of Porn

. Liu Jing, calm and quick-witted, cleverly resolved the awkward situation of being caught in the act, and headed straight for the secretary's office. He was naturally indifferent and kind, but like all young people of the 1980s, he would never easily suffer a loss.

"Bang!" Liu Jing kicked open the secretary's office door and sat directly on Sun Xi's desk. Sun Xi was startled, then rolled his eyes: "What's wrong, Xiao Liu? Why are you so angry? Who made you angry?"

Liu Jing stared at him and let out a cold snort: "Secretary Sun, what did I do to you?"

"What do you mean? I don't understand what you're talking about." Sun Xi glanced at him sideways, then looked away, as if to say, "What can you do to me?"

"Pretend, pretend with me." Liu Jing sneered twice, pointing at his nose. "Are you really an idiot or just pretending? How could you do something like this?" Sun Xi was stunned, standing up abruptly, his already stiff features contorted in pain. "Who are you calling names? Do you believe I'll destroy you? Explain yourself!"

"Sit down, sit down first, don't get agitated, let me explain slowly." Liu Jing's attitude was friendly, and he even rolled up the contract into a tube and tapped it on the guy's shoulder. Sun Xi was already feeling guilty, and was intimidated by Liu Jing's imposing manner, so he obediently sat down, glaring at him.

Liu Jing tapped his chest with the contract, saying each word clearly, "You like Secretary Bai, don't you?" Sun Xi's face twitched, and he made a move to stand up again.

"Don't get agitated, don't get agitated, let me analyze it for you." Liu Jing gestured with the contract tube, stopping him. "You knew perfectly well what was going on in there, yet you still tricked me in. There's only one reason: you're jealous, insanely jealous. Right now, it's just President Zhao and Secretary Bai inside. If you don't want someone to pull strings, I can only guess you like Secretary Bai, am I right?"

Sun Xi looked terrified, unconsciously glancing towards the door. The door was still half-open, letting in a draft of cold air, and he couldn't help but shiver. Liu Jing looked at him with a faint smile, not without pity.

"I don't know what you're talking about." Sun Xi calmed down a bit, shakily pulled out a cigarette, and managed to light it after three tries. Jealousy is a devil; he finally realized how stupid he had been in his moment of madness.

"Sigh." Liu Jing sighed, looking puzzled, and asked, "Secretary Sun, you've been a secretary for so long, how could you do something so idiotic? Everyone knows you have to find the secretary to see President Zhao, everyone knows you have to knock before entering President Zhao's office. Secretary Bai is inside, and you're the only secretary here, and then I just walked in. Guess what President Zhao will think?"

Secretary Sun glared at him, his eyes darting around, taking deep drags on his cigarette, his pale face as thin as a sheet in the smoke.

Liu Jing shook his head and tapped Sun Xi's head again, saying, "You must be hoping for the best, thinking I'd be scared out of my wits, panic, and then incoherently apologize to President Zhao, right? Let me tell you, I'm not as stupid as you. Not only did I use my intelligence to cover things up, but I also cleverly betrayed you. Just wait for President Zhao to fire you!"

Sun Xi's eyes turned cold, and he stood up abruptly, saying fiercely, "Liu Jing, I'll say it again, I don't understand what you're talking about. I haven't seen you today, and I don't know or care what you just saw. But let me tell you, I have nothing to be afraid of; you're the one who should be afraid!"

"You're really fucking naive." Sun Xi was at his wit's end, and Liu Jing laughed, "I know what you're thinking, but it's useless. You can't use the last 'fear' tactic in Thick Black Theory at all, because President Zhao isn't married, and Secretary Bai isn't married. It's their natural right, and you can't control them!"

Sun Xi was terrified, his face drained of color, his dead face twisted beyond recognition.

"We don't punish the diligent, we don't punish the lazy, we only punish the blind, understand?" Liu Jing chuckled, stood up and slammed the contract down. "I'm leaving. General Manager Zhao is looking for you later, remember to give him this for me."

Sun Xi blankly caught the contract, cold sweat dripping from his forehead. Having been a secretary for three years, he understood the consequences of offending a superior. Thinking of the noisy, fuming workshops, he was filled with regret.

Liu Jing strode away, not forgetting to mutter "idiot" before leaving.

Suddenly, the phone rang loudly. Sun Xi's heart skipped a beat, and he grabbed it, pressing it to his ear. General Manager Zhao's authoritative voice came through: "Sun Xi, come to my office immediately."

"We ordinary folks are so happy today!" Liu Jing hummed a song, skipping and hopping downstairs. He'd found a girlfriend, watched a live porn film, and even gotten his revenge—how could he not be happy? His foot, though it hurt, he'd long forgotten about it.

"Ouch!" Liu Jing was having a good time when he bumped into someone as he turned a corner. It was Xu Yan from the finance department. The young woman had fallen flat on her backside and was glaring at him, clutching her bottom.

"Xu Yan, I'm sorry, let me help you up." Liu Jing cheerfully grabbed the young woman and pulled her up. Xu Yan blushed slightly and looked him over, saying, "Liu Jing, what's got you so happy? You're not even looking where you're going!"

"What good thing could I possibly have!" This girl had a crush on him and was always flirting with him, but unfortunately, Liu Jing didn't reciprocate her feelings. "By the way, where are you going?"

Xu Yan patted her backside and picked up a report from the ground: "Manager Lu isn't home, I'm going to get General Manager Zhao's signature." Liu Jing knew that the person surnamed Lu was the finance manager and vice president, so he pulled her back: "Don't go, General Manager Zhao is busy right now."

"Oh!" Xu Yan seemed to understand and was even more willing to go downstairs with him.

After walking a few steps, Xu Yan looked around and whispered in his ear, "Liu Jing, did you see something?"

"You know too?" Liu Jing asked, surprised. Xu Yan's eyes widened, both smug and mysterious. "It's about President Zhao and Secretary Bai, isn't it? Everyone knows."

"How could I not know?" Liu Jing was genuinely puzzled. He'd been there a month longer than Xu Yan, how could he know nothing? Xu Yan glanced at him, her voice tinged with jealousy. "What do you know! Someone's been concerned about you, and you always pretend not to see."

Here she comes again. Liu Jing continued to pretend, returning to the original topic: "Xu Yan, President Zhao isn't married, and Secretary Bai doesn't have a boyfriend. It's perfectly normal for them to be together. Don't spread rumors, or you'll get yourself into trouble."

"What?! It's true that Secretary Bai likes President Zhao, but President Zhao has a girlfriend!" Xu Yan was a typical gossipy white-collar worker, easily led astray by Liu Jing's words.

"How do you know? Who is that person?" Liu Jing felt inexplicably uneasy.

Xu Yan, oblivious to his change, feigned mystery: "There's a girl from the Municipal Youth League Committee, just like us, who graduated last year and took the civil service exam for the Municipal Youth League Committee. She even got the interview arranged by Boss Zhao! Oh, by the way, that girl recently helped Boss Zhao get some business from the Municipal Youth League Committee!"

Liu Jing's mind raced, and he frowned, asking, "Did you hear that, or did you see it with your own eyes?" Xu Yan was a little embarrassed, but stubbornly replied, "I...I guessed, it can't be wrong."

Liu Jing chuckled, "Are you sure you can believe it? Let me tell you, I'm in charge of the Municipal Youth League Committee's business. I just met Officer Zheng; they're at least eight or nine years apart. Isn't your imagination a bit too wild?"

"So what? Boss Zhao has a car and a house, and his annual salary is over 200,000 yuan. What girl wouldn't like that!" Xu Yan retorted, then suddenly realized something, "I'm not that kind of person, don't get the wrong idea! I never care about those things, I only look for people I like." As she spoke, her eyes kept darting around, as if observing his reaction.

Liu Jing was a bit flustered again, so he couldn't pay attention to her.

Xu Yan stole a glance and finally noticed his change, her heart pounding. "He's angry, he must like me to be angry, right? Humph! He always pretends and ignores me, serves him right!" The little girl couldn't stop laughing, so vain.

The two walked silently, one happy and one worried. Liu Jing was worried, while Xu Yan was overjoyed.

Unconsciously, Xu Yan stopped. Liu Jing looked around and realized, oh no, he had been walking with his head down and had come to the finance department.

"Liu Jing, you're so good today, even seeing me off." Xu Yan's eyes were shy, a mixture of joy and reproach.

"It's my pleasure, you can go in, I'm leaving." Liu Jing was annoyed and turned to leave.

"Hey, don't go yet!" Xu Yan called out to him urgently, her voice hesitant, "Liu Jing, we had such a pleasant chat today, how about... how about we have a meal together sometime and have a good talk?"

"Let's talk about it another day." Who was happy? It's all your fault, Liu Jing said dismissively and turned to leave again.

"Hey, no! Listen to me!" Xu Yan stamped her feet anxiously. "Liu Jing, I really didn't..."

"Xu Yan!" Liu Jing suddenly remembered something and turned around abruptly. "Those are all rumors. Don't spread them anymore."

"Who's spreading rumors? Secretary Bai is..."

"Not Secretary Bai, it's... it's the Municipal Youth League Committee. Remember, it's all rumors!"

Liu Jing solemnly instructed, ignoring Xu Yan's shouts, and walked away without looking back. This news wasn't a big deal, but he cared too much about Little Tiger. He had been searching for him for over ten years, and although it was only their first meeting, he was completely hooked. Frustrated, so frustrated! He tried hard to tell himself that it was a rumor, it must be, but he just couldn't let go.

The more Liu Jing thought about it, the more frustrated and upset he became. With a bitter face, he sighed and sat sullenly in his office all day. He thought about calling Little Tiger to ask, but felt he couldn't bring himself to say it, so he decided against it. Anyway, there was still plenty of time.

He tried hard to find out Zheng Fangxi's every move, but all his conclusions were negative. Little Tiger was taking the civil service exam, and Boss Zhao helped him find someone—whether it was a relative, some other connection, or just Xu Yan making things up. It wasn't anything to be surprised about. But the worst thing he could have done was let him see that pornographic video of Boss Zhao and Bai Ge! Every time he thought of Little Tiger's cute face, Boss Zhao's ugly, big thing would dangle in his mind. It was unbearable! It was all the porn's fault!

The sun had set, it was time to leave work, and his colleagues were leaving one after another.

"Damn it, all the good girls are being fucked by dogs!" Liu Jing cursed profusely, slamming his fist on the table in anger. He praised Secretary Bai and cursed General Manager Zhao in one sentence. "And Sun Xi, you bastard, you son of a bitch, you like Bai Ge, what does that have to do with me? You deserve to be fired!" Liu Jing was both jealous and angry, and still couldn't understand why, so he cursed Sun Xi again. But who fired him?

Li Desheng returned from outside, ready to continue the battle. He had just entered when he saw Liu Jing looking indignant, muttering to himself, "Little Liu, what are you muttering about? It's time to go home!"

Liu Jing looked up slightly, "Nothing, you do your thing."

"Weren't you going to meet someone you met online? Why aren't you leaving?"

"Oh!...I'm leaving now." Liu Jing suddenly remembered, having been so preoccupied with his frustration that he'd forgotten about it.

Li Desheng picked up his water glass and continued his battle, ignoring him. Liu Jing, clutching his small bag, left dejectedly. He'd met Little Tiger online, a friend he had no desire or interest in, but since they'd already made plans, he had to go. The wind was the same as yesterday, the peach blossoms still carpeted the ground, but what fell was Liu Jing's damned mood. He arrived at the Causeway Bay restaurant, sullenly, and let the waiter guide him to park. He went inside and found a window seat.

It was still early, and Liu Jing gazed out the window, lost in thought. People came and went on the street, the joy of leaving work evident on everyone's faces. He'd been alone in this city for nine months, and this was the first time he felt truly lonely. He realized that liking someone could be lonely.

Liu Jing opened his purse, took out an unopened box of Little Panda cigarettes, and lit one. He didn't smoke; cigarettes were reserved for client meetings, but now he wanted one.

The smoke rose, gradually enveloping him, the tobacco burning quickly with a hissing sound, time itself burning away. The streetlights came on, the city, dimly lit, was beautiful, and men and women dressed in bright colors constantly passed by.

The meeting time arrived, but no one came. Liu Jing took out his phone and placed it aside. He decided to wait ten minutes; if no one appeared after ten minutes, he would call and leave.

Ten minutes later, Liu Jing reached for his phone. A graceful figure walked in from outside, and he withdrew his hand. He was smoking with his head down and didn't see her, but he had a feeling it was her.

A pair of long, shapely legs walked towards him, delicate feet in flat shoes—very beautiful. The feet drew closer, the flat shoes making a crisp sound, and the swaying of her legs became clearer and more rhythmic, until they stopped in front of him.

Liu Jing looked up and saw a pair of familiar breasts, and a familiar face on top of them—bright and cheerful, flamboyant yet graceful.

"It really is you." Liu Jing flicked his cigarette ash, showing no surprise or astonishment, not even a noticeable expression.

The super policewoman wasn't wearing her uniform, but she was still super. She smiled without answering, calmly sat down opposite him, and took out a cigarette from the table. Liu Jing politely extended his hand and lit it for her.

The policewoman took an elegant drag and blew the smoke into his face. "So, how did it go with seeing your girlfriend yesterday?"

Liu Jing waved the smoke in front of him uncomfortably, staring at her. "Is lying fun?"

The policewoman placed her hands on the table, lowered her head briefly, then looked up again. "Five months ago, I was feeling down. A friend advised me to talk to someone I didn't know, so she helped me register a QQ account. She even filled out the information for me, saying that if I filled in a younger age, people would be more willing to talk to me. That's how I found you, and we've been together ever since. I'm not lying to you; you just didn't ask me."

"And what about yesterday? How do you explain yesterday?" Liu Jing looked at her with disdainful anger, giving her a strange look.

The policewoman paused for a moment, then said expressionlessly, "I don't know."

"Hmph, you women are always so self-righteous." Liu Jing was annoyed and his attitude was extremely unfriendly.

The policewoman was somewhat annoyed, frowning slightly. "Why don't you talk about yourself? You hide in the car like a thief, letting the average-looking ones go and only sidling up to the pretty ones! How good are you?"

The super policewoman was indeed super, not just because of her chest; Liu Jing was speechless. But the policewoman was right; he hid in the car on a whim, and he didn't know why.

Seeing his silence, the policewoman softened her tone: "Don't you think, if I really wanted to lie to you, would I have come today?"

"I'm sorry, I'm... in a bad mood today. It has nothing to do with you, don't mind it." Liu Jing felt a little guilty; he was angry because of Boss Zhao's big thing, and the policewoman was just collateral damage.

The policewoman sighed and tossed him the menu: "Order."

"You order, it's on you." Liu Jing tossed it back. The policewoman rolled her eyes and said with amusement, "Didn't I say... if I can't satisfy you, I'll treat you? Since I'm treating, of course you should order."

"What are you thinking? I was just saying. Consider it my apology." Liu Jing felt embarrassed and pushed the menu back.
