Gu Wangyan [Complete] - 7

Chapter Six: Ying Yang's lustful nature led to his downfall, but he eventually reformed.

The old man, Dull-witted, said: "Alas, male homosexuality, though its origins are ancient, has never been as prevalent as it is today. These people occupy half
the world, not only shameless but also proud of it. If everyone possessed the sin of Nie Bianbao, and if these people heard of it, they would fear and avoid it, thus washing away this decadent trend." The chapter recounts Ying Yang's family history and his experiences as a performer in the opera world, filled with many amusing anecdotes that will make the reader laugh. Suddenly, the Min family appears, which not only pleases Ying Yang but also the reader. Why? Without the Min family, Ying Yang would not exist; without Ying Yang, there would be no Yin family or Jiao Jiao. Without Yin family and Jiao Jiao, where would these two lively chapters come from? As he grew older, his relentless beard, disregarding human life, sprouted day by day. [Laughing] Although he constantly plucked it, his face gained wrinkles, making him less handsome than in his youth. Those skilled in grooming would grind pine nuts, ginkgo seeds, and powder into a paste, often applying it to their faces. This not only concealed many imperfections but also made them fragrant and shiny, somewhat masking their flaws. Unfortunately, much hair grew around the anus, like a thorny ridge added to the sparse persimmon pit in Journey to the West. It couldn't be swept away, shaved, or burned, blocking the vital source of sustenance like a fence. It was truly a situation where one couldn't cry or laugh, but was helpless. It was truly: a tangled mess of weeds, and from then on, her lover was like a stranger. This was because her kidney energy had reached its limit [the term "kidney energy" is likely a renamed version of the Peach Blossom Star]. Heaven had limited her from doing this. At this point, she beckoned to lovers with both hands, but they ignored her. Even if she bent over at the crossroads, her buttocks sticking up higher than her head, people would still hold their noses and pass by. She couldn't even get a glance from him, let alone a single meeting. [If Lord Longyang saw this, he would surely weep.] When it came to performing in operas, they would stretch their necks and strain their muscles as if struggling for their lives, sometimes working all night or all day, only to earn a pittance, barely enough to make ends meet. By the time they regretted their wasted youth, it was too late. They realized that this way of making money was not like farming, where if one year's harvest was poor, they could hope for next year. It was like a doctor's saying, " Take advantage of my youth, for I have an early spring." This ugly boy had a face full of black pockmarks and a cunning look, seemingly born ugly, hence he learned to be ugly. In his youth, he saw that all his classmates were well-liked and made money, but he alone was ignored. He stared at them with wide eyes, feeling utterly unsatisfied. Everyone else was dressed neatly, but he only wore an old piece of cloth. Someone asked, "Everyone else is presentable, why are you like this?" He had no other answer, but sadly pointed to his face and said, "Look at my face." Everyone burst into laughter. He would occasionally try to flirt with people, [this was out of sheer boredom.] but everyone ignored him and spat at him, [disappointing]. He often sighed and lamented in front of the mirror. When he was extremely bored, he would touch his anus and sigh, "I may not earn as much as they do, but they fart all the time, [the word 'fart' is quite new.] I could never be as good as my unopened anus." Now, seeing his son so handsome, he thought it was due to the good deeds of his ancestors that he had such a son, and he often stroked Yang's vulva, praising, "I never expected such a beautiful pearl to be produced in this empty clam." This Yingyang was also very clever, born to be like this. He learned the plays he was taught, his singing and delivery were excellent, and his figure was graceful. When dressed up, he was like a charming woman. After three years of learning, he could perform on stage, and everyone cheered. Everyone envied him. Because he was too young, he still had time to develop. When he was twelve or thirteen, a high-ranking official fell in love with him and told Ying Chouzi he wanted to admire his son's tender buttocks. Ying Chouzi readily agreed. The official gave him a large sum of silver and made two sets of fashionable silk clothes for Ying Yang, thus opening up his "clever hole." Afterwards, his skills indeed became increasingly exquisite, captivating all who saw him. Within two or three years, he had earned a considerable sum of money. Because he was young and didn't know how to waste, he gave all his earnings to his parents. Ying Chouzi and his wife were overjoyed, regarding their son's anus as a treasure trove. [This is quite a strange idea, not really; Deng Tong's anus contained a mountain of money.] One day, Ying Chouzi suddenly let out a loud, clear fart, which touched him deeply, and he couldn't help but sigh bitterly. Yang laughed, "Why make such a fuss over a fart? Are you reluctant to let it make a sound?" Ying Chouzi replied, "This fart reminded me of my son. Although he has earned some money, he will never be able to fart as loudly as I do. It saddens me." [Recently, many farts have been silent; I wonder if his father is still saddened?] Later, Ying Yang gradually changed. As the saying goes, "One who stays near vermilion gets stained red, and one who stays near ink gets stained black." He was seduced by his friends in the troupe. He indulged in prostitution, gambling, and drinking, spending money indiscriminately. Although he had money, it was constantly going from one hand to another, and not a single coin reached his home. Ying Chouzi already had a weak constitution, which recently flared up, preventing him from performing. His family relied entirely on his son for food and clothing, but they dared not interfere, daring to be angry but not daring to speak out. Suppressed in his heart, his illness worsened. Then he died. Although Ying Yang was an actor, many of his acquaintances in the troupes came to offer condolences. He sought to maintain appearances, indulging in lavish spending. [These days, even families of scholars and officials observe frugality during mourning periods, surpassing even Ying Yang in this regard.] By the time the funeral was over, most of his accumulated wealth was gone. At that time, there was a wealthy man in the city named Nie Bianbao, a wicked and lewd man. His sister was married to a member of the imperial family in the capital as a favored concubine. He abused his power, manipulating the government and committing countless atrocities. He took a concubine, a student of the Imperial Academy, who rivaled the county magistrate, acting arrogantly and disdainfully. Everyone looked down on him. Although a judge wanted to arrest him, the imperial envoy from Suzhou, a textile manufacturer, and the eunuch stationed in the capital, had received the imperial relative's earnest request to protect him. At that time, the eunuchs were so powerful that even the governors and censors dared not offend them, let alone lower-ranking officials. Because of this backing, he became even more unrestrained. He killed people like grass, and took other men's wives and daughters as easily as placing them in a sack. The villagers all hated him, so they changed his name to something that sounded the same, calling him "Nie Bian Bao" (meaning "Evil Retribution"). His house was vast, and he had many concubines. He was lustful for both women and men. Although he had raped countless women, he never tried a new man. Why was this? Such a wicked man possessed a tool for evil. His penis, though only six or seven inches long, was as thick as a bell, which was quite unusual. The glans was like a donkey's kidney. When he penetrated a woman's vagina, once aroused, it opened like a trumpet. A woman's vagina is small but wide inside, making penetration easy, but withdrawal is like a small saucer, which is too much for a woman to bear. Younger women who had been with him for a while were often left severely injured, as his vagina could not accommodate such a thing. At home, he treated his concubines and maids with some restraint, but when he went to prostitutes, he would arbitrarily assault them, regardless of life or death. Many prostitutes suffered from his lustful abuse, and therefore, behind his back, they all called him "Nie the Donkey." With such a great reputation, these men of the Longyang clan, though greedy for money, would never do what Jia Hu did—hiding a pearl in his belly—risking their lives for cash. As the old saying goes, " As long as the bright moon shines over the Five Lakes, there's no shortage of places to cast one's golden hook." If one truly had a handsome face and a tender thigh, where wouldn't one go for money? Why would they lightly test this wicked thing? Besides, this matter, like the last two lines of a land sale contract, was based on mutual consent, without any coercion. The minor official was unwilling to handle this strange object. He had no choice. He had repeatedly set his sights on Ying Yang, asking people to act as intermediaries and offering him huge sums of money, but Ying Yang dared not agree again. Nie Bianbao hated him to the core, thinking: "I will devise a plan to trap him in my cage, leaving him penniless, torturing him mercilessly. Only by putting him to death can I vent my anger." One day, he came up with an idea and discussed the matter with one of his beloved concubines, Min. Madam Min advised him, "My lord, please consider this. Even we women, who have been with you for so long, find it hard to resist this thing. How much more so a young boy? A person's life is not a game. His refusal is probably because he knows your great reputation and dares not agree. He must be guilty, but why should he die? In my opinion, the experience is probably the same. Why not abandon the latter and take this one?" Nie Bianbao was furious and said, "With such a household servant, such power, and such a wonderful thing, if I don't taste this handsome man's wonderful buttocks, I would be betraying Heaven's will. Since you are so protective of him, let me try your rear end, and I will not want him anymore." Madam Min was unwilling to rescue him from the well and was so frightened that she shut her mouth. After a long pause, he said, "Master, please calm down. We will do as you say." Nie Bianbao then called over one of his beloved, beautiful maids named Chuisi and instructed her, "Tomorrow, you and your aunt will do this and that for me. If it gets out, I won't punish you, I'll just give each of you a light tap on the bottom. As for whether you live or die, that's up to your fate." Min and Chuisi looked at each other, their faces pale, and obediently accepted the order.

The next day, Nie Bianbao summoned Ying Yang and his troupe to his home to perform. Halfway through the play, around the second watch, the troupe went to eat and went to wash their hands. Ying Yang came out last, finished urinating, and just as he turned around, someone grabbed his collar from behind. He quickly turned around and saw, in the moonlight, a beautiful woman dressed as a maid. Suspicious, Ying Yang asked, "What are you doing?" The woman approached and whispered, "What's your surname?" He replied, "My surname is Ying." The woman happily took his hand and said, "Let's go to that shadowy place; I have something to tell you. We're afraid someone will see us here." Ying Yang was completely out of his mind at that moment and followed her to a dark place. The woman pulled him close, kissed him, and whispered in his ear, "My aunt was watching a play in her room just now. She saw you and really liked you. She wants to meet you. She has many good things to offer you, so she asked me to ask you if you have a play tomorrow?" Yingyang replied, "No, I don't." The woman said, "Your play ends tonight, and you'll be traveling with the troupe. You probably won't be able to get away. Tomorrow, around sunset, wait for me outside the back gate of my garden. I'll come out to meet you. It's a secluded place, so don't worry." She added, "In case you're suspicious, this is a token my aunt gave you. Please accept it." She handed it to him and then hugged Yingyang tightly. He said, "My dear, how can you love me so much? My aunt is as beautiful as a jade beauty. Now that I've become you, don't forget me." Yingyang was still a fifteen-year-old boy, unaware of the dangers. His youthful spirit led him to believe it was a miraculous encounter, and he was so overjoyed he couldn't speak, only nodding and saying, "I will definitely come, I will definitely come. You must come to meet me, don't be late." The woman said, "No need to say more." Seeing someone approaching, she withdrew. [At first, we saw that this maid's name was Chuisi, and we thought it was just a random name. Only now do we realize it has a double meaning. Chuisi refers to the crabapple tree, hence its use as a maid's name. The second meaning is that this maid is used as bait, dangling on a fishing line to lure Yingyang. There are many such instances in the book, which cannot all be pointed out here; only the reader should pay attention.] Yingyang couldn't open it, so he put the package into his money bag, went back to the opera, and returned home after the performance, it was already past dawn.

Upon arriving home, he took out his purse and opened it under the lamp. Inside were a pair of bright red satin slippers, adorned with white plum blossoms on the uppers, pea-green in color, and white silk soles with pearls the size of soybeans studded at the tips. They were only three inches long. Inside was a red paper package containing a fragrant sachet embroidered with intertwined mandarin ducks, a gold lotus flower in pairs, a gold double-headed ruyi hairpin, four linked rings, and ten round white pearls. Yingyang was overjoyed, kissing the slippers several times and calling them "darling," before wrapping them up again and placing them back in his purse. He then undressed, went to bed, and slept with the purse close to his chest. In his hazy state, he arrived at the Nie family's place where he had met the woman. Upon seeing him, the woman smiled and said, "What an honest man! I've been waiting for quite a while." She stepped forward, took his hand, and said, "Let's go in." Yingyang suddenly realized something and stopped, saying, "What if we run into your master?" [This pause is reasonable.] Although Yingyang was an ignorant child, he was a clever boy. How could he dare to be so reckless and unscrupulous? With this thought, he realized that she was not entirely unaware of his surroundings, but was simply bewitched. The woman said, "My family has many concubines, and they take turns keeping the master company every night. Each has their own room, so it's fine. Are you afraid? We are not!" This change of heart reassured him further. Even she would surely fall into her trap, let alone Yingyang. She then laughed, "Little rascal, you're so timid and suspicious." Yingyang, now completely out of his mind, disregarded the knife and saw before him and boldly followed her into a neat room. Under the lamplight, a beautiful woman smiled and grabbed him, saying, "Little rascal, do you want to kill me?" She nestled her face against him. Seeing this, Yingyang was overcome with lust. Without saying a word, he took her hand and led her to the bed, undressing her. Seeing the woman's soft, yielding body, he indulged in pleasure for a while. He still wanted to express his affection. The woman lifted the curtain and said, "It's bright now, hurry up and go." Yingyang saw the sunlight was indeed intense, so he quickly dressed and ran outside. He tripped over the threshold and almost fell, waking with a start. It was all a dream. He still clutched the money bag in his arms. His semen had already spilled onto the bedding. Looking out the window, the sun was already high in the sky. He calmed himself and thought to himself, the dream vividly clear. He secretly rejoiced, thinking, "Tonight will surely bring us together. This dream is an auspicious omen!" [This is truly a fool's dream; it shouldn't have been told before the woman, but after himself. Those who love to talk about dreams are said to reverse their dreams, such as dreaming of crying and then laughing, or dreaming of laughing and then crying—this is the same idea.] He dared not tell his mother about the money bag, keeping it with him. He slowly got up, washed, ate, and walked to the back gate of the Nie family's garden. He saw it was indeed a dead-end alley, an empty space with no one around, and felt more at ease. [Detailed.] He walked around again, sat for a while, and then went back again. It was still early, so he had to return, anxiously waiting for night to fall. He paced back and forth impatiently.

Seeing the sun setting behind the mountains, he was overjoyed. By the time he reached the garden gate, the moon had already risen in the east. Just as he hesitated, he suddenly heard the garden gate creak open. Yingyang was startled, [the scene vividly depicting the young man's fear and timidity]. Looking closely, he saw it was indeed the woman, and his heart relaxed. The woman said, "Go in quickly while no one's around." Yingyang followed her in. The maid closed the gate, and the two entered the garden hand in hand, embracing, kissing, and teasing each other for a while. [This was all part of Nie Bianbao's plan; this intimacy must have been a self-inflicted wound.] Then they continued walking together. They wandered around for a while, [the phrase "the houses ahead are deep and secluded" describes the scene]. They arrived at a room, which was not yet lit, but the moonlight made it appear magnificent. He thought it was a dream and was secretly delighted. The woman whispered, "Wait a moment, I'll go check. If the master is asleep, I'll bring my concubine along." She then strolled away.

Yingyang waited for a long time, but she didn't return. He felt a pang of regret and doubt, fearing someone might see him. He wanted to leave, but he didn't know the way and was afraid of running into people. Then he thought, "Last night's dream was auspicious, so it shouldn't be a problem. [He kept insisting on the word 'good dream,' and later it came true—just a foolish young man's self-deception.] She probably couldn't escape somewhere. Besides, this woman has such affection for me; there must be no other reason." Just as he was intently waiting, he suddenly saw two large, bright lanterns, and a group of people approached. Yingyang looked up and saw it was Nie Bianbao. His soul seemed to vanish without a trace. He was so frightened that he fell to the ground.

Nie Bianbao entered and, seeing him, shouted, "Thief! Seize him! Don't let him go!" Two or three servants rushed forward, grabbed him, and made him kneel down. [Grabbed him—brilliant! He looked utterly terrified.] Nie Bianbao glanced at him and asked his servant, "Isn't this Ying Dan?" The servant replied, "It is indeed him." Nie Bianbao sat down and roared, "What a bold servant! You sneaked into my inner chamber in the dead of night! You must have committed adultery or theft! Servants, strip this fellow naked, tie him up tightly, and send him to the county to be executed tomorrow morning!" The servant stepped forward and began to strip him naked and pull down his trousers. Nie Bianbao asked, "What's on his belt?" The servant replied, "It's a money pouch." Nie Bianbao said, "Let me see it." The servant handed it over, and upon opening it, he feigned surprise, saying, "I thought he had just come in, but it turns out he stole the shoes and jewelry! Clearly a thief, yet he's using these shoes to extort money! What a wicked man! Tomorrow, take him to the yamen and have him beaten, and hunt down his accomplices!"

Ying Yang, bound like a dumpling, lay naked on the floor, writhing in pain, and tearfully pleaded, "My lord, how could I dare to come in without permission? A woman from your household invited me here last night, and she found these things for me; I didn't dare steal them." [These are the ignorant words of a young boy. Is this a valid excuse?] Nie Bianbao asked, "What is this woman's surname? Where is she now?" Ying Yang replied, "I don't know her surname. He brought me here, and then she left." Nie Bianbao was even angrier, saying, "This servant is talking nonsense! You don't even know a person's surname, yet you dared to bring her here. [Though the scheme is vicious, it is reasonable.] Since you've come to steal, you've also framed my family and slandered my household. You are even more hateful. Even if it's true, it's better to be clear, but the crime is even more serious. Servants, go out and call all the maids to him to identify her. If he doesn't recognize her, he can die without resentment." Everyone agreed and left. After a short while, several maids each brought in a lamp, lighting them brightly. The room was brightly lit. Nie Bianbao said, "He said he was brought in by one of you. Go to him and let him identify her." The maids stepped forward and said in unison, "You're serious. You have to bear the consequences of your own actions. Don't try to frame an innocent person." Ying

Yang looked at each of them and couldn't find the right one. He still had some conscience and didn't want to wrong anyone. He cried and said, "None of them are right. It was a... " She had an oval face, a fair complexion, and wore a blue shirt and white skirt, with a red handkerchief tightly wrapped around her waist. Nie Bianbao said, "This servant is talking nonsense; there is no such person in my household." Just then, a beautiful woman walked in and sat down on a chair nearby. Nie Bianbao said to her, "This is Ying Dan. I came back and went to your room, where I saw him thieving. I had the servants arrest and tie him up, but he pretended not to have stolen anything. Who knew he had stolen jewelry and a pair of shoes and hidden them with him, then falsely accused me." "There was a woman in my house who lured him here. Can you believe how wicked she is? Tomorrow morning, I'll send her to the authorities and have her beaten to death. Only then will my hatred be avenged." The beautiful concubine said, "Master, please don't be angry. Maids, fetch some wine to calm you down." The maids agreed and soon returned with wine and dishes. They set the table, poured the wine, and the beautiful concubine drank with him. Yingyang was both in pain and afraid. He groaned and cried for a while, saying, "You lured me in, and now you're hiding somewhere, making me suffer." He then cried out that he was wronged.

Nie Bianbao roared, "This servant dares to spout nonsense and claim innocence! Girls, slap him!" The maids, seeing this handsome young man, so delicate and round, tied naked on the ground, felt both pity and affection; none could bear to beat him. Because of their master's orders, they dared not disobey. One of the maids approached, turned her back, clapped her hands twice [exquisite, conveying pity and affection], and whispered, "Don't make a sound, why suffer this beating?" Ying Yang, now resigned to his fate, stopped crying out when the maid spoke, only closing his eyes and groaning. The beautiful concubine, deeply moved, poured a cup of wine, stood up, and offered it to Nie Bianbao, saying, "I, Nie Bianbao, beg for your mercy." Nie Bianbao asked, "What is it?" The concubine replied, "This boy deserves death, but tomorrow he will be dealt with according to the law. If we spare him now, tying him up here, he won't be able to escape." Nie Bianbao still refused, but after the concubine pleaded repeatedly, he finally agreed.

The concubine told the maid to release him, and the maids rushed forward and hurriedly untied him. Ying Yang's body was numb from being bound, and being released only intensified the pain, leaving him unable to move and groaning on the ground. The concubine saw the red and purple welts on his fair skin from the bindings and felt even more sorry for him. She said, "Give him some clothes to cover himself." A maid quickly brought clothes to cover him, and then another maid came in and said to Nie Bianbao, "The mistress has summoned you, sir, to speak with great importance." Nie Bianbao hesitated and said, "What could be so important so late? Go and tell her what you have to say tomorrow." The concubine urged, "Since the mistress has come to invite you, it must be something important. Sir, you can go and come back later, what's the harm?" Nie Bianbao stood up and said, "Alright, I'll be right back." The two maids quickly lit lanterns and went off.

Now, let's talk about Nie Bianbao. Although he was extremely wicked, his wife, Shan, was very virtuous and kind. She not only didn't resent her concubines and maids, but also treated them all with kindness. Nie Bianbao respected her greatly. Whenever she learned of her husband's wicked deeds, she would earnestly advise him. Although Nie Bianbao couldn't listen to everything, he would listen to her about one or two things. Chui Si went to coax Ying Yang, obeying her master's orders without daring to disobey, which was against her own will. She coaxed Ying Yang to Min's room and reported back to Nie Bianbao. Seeing that he had left, she hurriedly went to Min and said, "Ying Yang has been coaxed to your room, and the master has gone. I don't know if he's alive or dead. Please go and persuade him. Saving his life is the most important thing, otherwise, this crime will be committed by you and me." Min said, "I'll go first, but I'm afraid I'm too insignificant to save him. You can secretly go and tell Grandma, and ask for her help. There might still be some hope." After Min came, Chui Si hurried to Shan's room and reported in detail what her master had told her to coax Ying Yang, begging Grandma to persuade him to save his life. She also said, "Grandma, just say you heard it was a rumor. Please don't say that I came to tell you, or the master will be angry." Shan sighed twice, chanted a few Buddhist prayers, and hurriedly told her maid to go and invite Nie Bianbao.

After he left, the concubine stood up, walked over to Yingyang, knelt down, and stroked his body, saying, "I see you are a clever man, how dare you come here?" Yingyang had seen her plead for his release, and now she showed him such pity, he was extremely grateful, and cried out, "A woman really invited me in, please save my life, madam!" The concubine said, "If someone invites you in, there is no witness. Even if you go to the authorities, they won't believe such an unsubstantiated statement. Besides, you have been caught red-handed, and you will inevitably be beaten. It is all your own fault, you can't blame anyone else. None of these maids and I do not pity you, [this sentence makes Nie Bianbao's evil even more apparent.] Look at the master's temperament, how can I save you?" Yingyang said, "I would be grateful for madam's kindness even if I die. I can die resentfully, but I only have a widowed mother, and no brothers or sisters. It's a pity that she raised me for nothing." Then he began to sob.

The concubine shed two tears and whispered in his ear, "There's only one thing that can save you; will you agree?" Hearing that he could be saved, Yingyang stopped crying and said, "If Madam is willing to save me, she's like my second parents. What is there to refuse?" The concubine said, "My master is infatuated with a minor official. You'll have to sleep with him to save your life." Yingyang hesitated for a moment and whispered, "Outsiders say that even women can't resist my master's charms. How can we bear it?" The concubine whispered again, "If you agree, you might suffer some hardship, but it's not necessarily..." "He'll kill you because he loves you, and you've repeatedly refused him. That's why he resorted to this vicious scheme. If you still don't comply, he'll not only force himself on you, but also lose his life for nothing. Sending him to the authorities is a pretense; he wants to harm you now. What's your life worth? Don't you know how ruthless he usually is?" Ying Yang suddenly realized, and kowtowed, saying, "Grandma, you are my savior. If I don't die, I'll repay your kindness later." She sighed and said, "So be it. I know I can't escape. I'll just give up my body and my life to him." [The Grand Historian said: The hatred and resentment in people are immense. With these few words from Ying Yang, if he doesn't die at Nie Bianbao's hands today, Nie Bianbao will surely die at his hands one day.] The concubine said, "Since that's the case, wait for him to come, and I'll save you." After saying this, she returned to her seat.

Just then, Nie Bianbao arrived, and the concubine said, "I have something to say, sir, would you listen?" Nie Bianbao asked, "What is it?" The concubine said, "Although this boy came to steal, he neither took any stolen goods nor committed any adultery. Forgive his youth and ignorance. He cried and said that he only has a widowed mother at home and no other relatives. He is also quite handsome. Let him offer himself to apologize to you, sir, and that will be enough to vent your anger. There's no need to investigate further. I asked him, and he agreed." Nie Bianbao said, "Since you plead for him, I will grant your request." Then he said to Ying Yang, "I'll spare your life for his sake. You must comply. If you resist, I won't accept it." He ordered the maids to bring over a bench, spread a mattress on it, and lay a red carpet on the floor. He told Ying Yang to help himself up and climb onto the bench and stand on the carpet.

At this point, Ying Yang was powerless and allowed them to do as they pleased. Nie Bianbao stripped naked and laughed at his concubine and the maids, saying, "None of you are allowed to go. Stay here and watch my master try out his new thing." He walked closer and touched Ying Yang's buttocks, saying, "You're not allowed to move." Ying Yang knew this was a matter of life and death, so he didn't care about Ying Yang's size and lowered his head, closed his eyes, and lay prone on the stool. Nie Bianbao spat and smeared some on his anus, then wiped some more on himself. He lowered his head, grasped his penis, and tried to push it in, but it wouldn't go in. Before he could even get in a little, Ying Yang already felt a burning sensation. Nie Bianbao, unable to get in, became aroused and used his strength to push in, inserting the head of his penis. Ying Yang cried out, "Ouch, I'm going to die!" and then fell silent. [He deserved a good dream.] Nie Bianbao didn't care about his life or death, and continued thrusting in and out at will.

After a long while, Ying Yang finally managed to breathe, his body trembling violently, and he cried out in a shaky voice, "I can't live anymore, I can't live anymore." [Although male-female love is a pleasure, it only has meaning when both parties are in harmony. What pleasure does Nie Bianbao find in raping women and engaging in such acts? I don't know what kind of heart these people have.] The concubines and maids watched with their hair standing on end, feeling sorry for him, yet they dared not approach to comfort him. Nie Bianbao chuckled and continued to tease him, saying, "You think being beaten and tortured in the yamen doesn't hurt?" He was skilled in the art of the night, and delighted that this was his first time trying it out. He finished in just half a watch, pulling his penis out halfway, then suddenly thrusting it all the way to the root, pulling out the large, trumpet-shaped head, dragging out five or six inches of his genitals, from which blood flowed freely. Ying Yang, already dazed from his earlier actions, his eyes swirling with desire, was suddenly overcome by the pain and collapsed to the ground, lifeless. Nie Bianbao laughed heartily. A maidservant quickly wiped his genitals clean with a fine handkerchief, and he sat naked in the chair, saying, "This unfortunate servant, if only he had obeyed me properly that day, how terrible it would have been! Today, he's been just as badly taken advantage of." The concubine, feeling great pity, disregarded Nie Bianbao's presence and rushed forward to embrace his head, calling out, "Quickly, bring some hot water!" The maidservants busily poured a bowl of water and poured it down his throat for a while before he groaned a few times and slightly regained consciousness. Nie Bianbao said, "Don't worry about whether he lives or dies. Have the servants drag him out and leave him somewhere empty." The concubine said, "This boy's crime doesn't warrant death. Besides, saving a life is better than building a six-story pagoda. Master, please rest. I and the maids will slowly save him. We'll have someone send him back before dawn tomorrow. That would be a small act of kindness from you." Nie Bianbao chuckled and said, "As you wish." He put on his clothes, not even trousers. [At this moment, wearing only a coat and not trousers is a sign of extreme joy. In the future, when he is investigated and arrested, the yamen runners will only allow him to wear a coat and not trousers, which is a sign of impending doom. Fortune and misfortune are intertwined, a pair from afar.] He put his arms around a maid, and two maids carrying lanterns were about to leave. The concubine said again, "Master, please wait. This boy has suffered enough. Keep only the shoes from that package, and give him the jewelry." Nie Bianbao cursed and said, "This servant got off easy." [Although this passage describes Min's kindness, it is based on the fact that she is a beloved concubine.] "Only then would I dare to do this, otherwise I would fear Nie Bianbao's suspicion." Having said this, he left. Two proverbs say it well: "

Always observe the crab with a cold eye, and see how long it can swagger."

Nie Bianbao initially intended to kill Ying Yang to avenge his grudge, but now he spared him. Firstly, this was out of consideration for Lady Min; secondly, it was truly thanks to Lady Shan's earnest persuasion when she invited him, so he only suffered a violent act of lust, fulfilling his long-cherished wish, and was thus forgiven.

Meanwhile, Ying Yang had begun to understand things. Seeing how much the beautiful concubine cared for him, he thought, "What good fortune I have to meet this benefactor, otherwise I would be dead." Seeing that Nie Bianbao had left, the concubine told a maid to help Ying Yang to a stool to lie down, and to bring him a pillow. She shone a lamp on his anus, which was torn into several pieces, with his large intestine protruding. She then ordered an old, fine handkerchief to wipe away the blood, and had the maids rub it in. She also personally massaged his wounds and ordered a cup of hot wine for him to drink. Ying Yang couldn't eat, but the concubine said, "Try to drink some hot wine to help the blood flow." Ying Yang, however, couldn't resist her kindness and forced a sip, then closed his eyes, remaining drowsy and silent. The concubine ordered a blanket to cover him. Around the third watch of the night, Ying Yang was fully conscious, but the pain in his anus was unbearable, and his body was too painful to move. He looked up and saw two or three maids sleeping haphazardly, while the beautiful concubine was still sitting beside him, wiping his body. He wept and said, "Grandma, I can never repay your life."

The beautiful woman whispered in his ear, "We share the same fate. My family name is Min, and I am from a good family. I was already betrothed, but someone said I was beautiful and sent men to my house to take me as a concubine. My parents refused. He then sent many servants to abduct me and raped me just like you did. I was a young girl and almost lost my life. Later, I heard that my husband's family had complained to my father. They fabricated a document that my father had sold me, accusing him of colluding with my husband's family to deceive the authorities. They were all severely punished. Although I am the first favored one in their household today..." But my hatred is deep, and as a woman, I cannot avenge you. He has loved you for so long, and several times he sent people to plead with you, but you refused. He is filled with rage, and thus he has devised this wicked plan. He discussed it with me before, and I repeatedly advised him against it. He was furious and said that if you did not comply, he would take my place. Do you think this is feasible? I doubted your intelligence, thinking you might not fall for his honey trap, but who knew you would fall into his snare? You have escaped with your life; you are truly fortunate.” He added, “None of his wicked servants are not helping their master commit evil. Tomorrow morning, I will have them send you home. Take this bag with you and sell it to make ends meet.” Then he pulled out a gold ear pick and stuck it in her hair. He said, “If your family sends you home without taking your things, bring this ear pick to me when you get home. If they do not send you home, or take your things, do not return it, so I can investigate.” [Truly, a wise woman is better than an incompetent man at saving lives.] Yingyang was overwhelmed with gratitude and called her benefactor.

Madam Min rose, opened the cabinet, and took out a bundle of silver containing more than ten taels from a leather box. She said, "Although I am favored, I don't concern myself with money. Even though I have jewelry, it's limited and I can't give it to you. Take this silver for your travel expenses." She then picked up the pair of shoes and said, "These are my shoes. He took them to coax you, and I'm giving them to you now." [She first told Nie Bianbao she would keep them to avoid suspicion. Now she gives them to Yingyang to hold a grudge. This woman is truly a thoughtful person.] Yingyang said, "How could I accept this?" Min said, "I'm giving it to you not out of personal affection, but for a reason you must remember. First, your current predicament stems from this shoe; seeing it reminds you of today's events. You mustn't be so reckless again. Second, once you leave, don't suspect anything and report him. I'm telling you this very carefully; if a word gets out, he'll find out, and we'll both be dead. You're an actor who works for high-ranking officials; if you see a powerful official, he'll expose our crimes and plead for my release. [My kindness and generosity are all contained in this one sentence.] I fear you'll forget it in time, so I'm giving you this shoe, hoping it will remind you of me, and that my efforts to save you won't be in vain. Such wicked people will surely face retribution, but I fear that if we all perish, even I won't escape." As she spoke, she wept bitterly. Yingyang kowtowed on his pillow, saying, "Grandmother's grace, I... if I dare to forget it, may I die under a thousand blades." Indeed: [Because Yingyang was young and ignorant of strategy, he dismantled bridges to build houses, unaware of the dangers of the flowing river, and blinded by lust, he knew no harm.]

Only gratitude and pent-up resentment

remained, untouched for millennia. Min Shi, hearing that it was past the fifth watch outside, said, "Go on, I'm afraid he'll change his ways again when he wakes up." She then woke the maid, helped him up, and dressed him. Yingyang, bent over, couldn't straighten up or stand. Min Shi had the maid point to two more experienced servants and instructed them, "Master ordered you two to help Yingyang home and bring me a receipt." Seeing people, Yingyang dared not say more, knelt down to kowtow, but before he could kneel, he stumbled and fell. Madam Min said, "No need, no need." She told her family to quickly help him up. The two men stepped forward and helped him out. Since it was the favored concubine's order, they dared not be negligent. They asked where he lived and escorted him to his door. It was already broad daylight. The two men said, "We've taken you home. Do you have any proof to give us?" Yingyang took out his ear pick and handed it to them, saying, "Thank you for coming all this way, gentlemen. I will thank my grandmother when I return." The two men took it.

Yingyang knocked on the door, and his mother opened it. Seeing her son crawling on the ground, his face ashen, she was startled. She tried her best to lift him, stumbling as she helped him inside, and laid him on the bed. Yingyang hugged his mother tightly and wept bitterly, saying, "Meeting you, Mother, is like being reborn! If it weren't for my benefactor saving me, I wouldn't have been able to come back to life." His mother, Yang, also wept and asked him what had happened. He explained the whole story in detail, then took out some silver and a small package from his side and showed them to his mother. Yang quickly pulled down his pants and saw his bright red intestines hanging out, his anus swollen and torn—a truly unsightly sight. [She didn't look at the contents, but at his buttocks first; this shows a mother's love for her son, with priorities.] She was heartbroken, crying and cursing, yet also grateful to Min. She quickly prepared soup for him to eat and asked someone to call a surgeon. He was treated with medicine and applied dressings, and it took more than a month before he could get out of bed. His intestines had only moved up an inch or so; three or four inches more remained. The doctor said that if the treatment had been done while the body was still warm, it might have been manageable, but since it had cooled down, it was untreatable. Thus, he became disabled; any strenuous activity would cause him to bleed, his back would ache so badly he was bent over, and he could no longer perform operas regularly, only occasionally. As for his patrons, not only could he not associate with the newly orphaned or the elderly, but even his old acquaintances, seeing him in

this state, would only lament his plight and avoid him, [his treasure bowl was broken, but his kidneys had also declined]. But let's not dwell on that. Now, on the street where Yingyang lived, there was a family surnamed Yin, who ran a small general store in front of their house. The couple had only one daughter, and the three of them made a living. When their daughter turned twelve, because she was tall and looked like a fifteen or sixteen-year-old, she grew her hair long, becoming quite pretty and very intelligent. Next door lived a family surnamed Guan, a minor official living in seclusion, with two sons, one fifteen and one eleven, who had hired a tutor to teach them at home. This local official, unable to support himself due to poverty, gathered the children of his neighbors who wanted to study and offered them tuition. He set up three rooms in his house as a school, using an old lattice screen (remember the word "lattice screen") to partition off one room as the teacher's bedroom. There were seven students in total: four older and three younger. The older ones were no more than fifteen or sixteen years old, and the younger ones were nine or ten. Suddenly, the old man was delighted and said to the old woman, "My daughter is very beautiful and clever. Why not send her to the school next door run by Master Guan? If she learns a few words, she'll be a complete person. What do you think?" The old woman, being sensible, said, "Sending my daughter to a group of male students might be inconvenient." The old man said, "Do you think I don't know? My daughter is only twelve. What's there to be afraid of? If she were fourteen or fifteen, I certainly wouldn't allow it. Why do you need to tell me?" The old woman then didn't object. The local gentry often strolled by the door and occasionally came to his shop for a chat. On this particular day, when they came, Old Man Yin quickly offered them a seat, poured tea, and they chatted for a while. He said, "I just had a question for you, sir." The village official said, "Please speak freely." The old man said, "I have a little daughter, quite clever, twelve years old this year. I hope that, thanks to your blessing, sir, I can send her to your household to study, to learn a few characters. The teacher's fee is just a token. Does that seem acceptable, sir?" The village official said, "That's wonderful! Why wouldn't it be possible? Adding a girl, how much trouble can the teacher have? The fee is up to you. I'll talk to them, and they won't object." He then saw the almanac hanging on the wall, took it down, and looked at it, saying, "Good, tomorrow is the school day. Will you make it in time?" The old man said, "There's no problem. Just buy a 'Daughter's Classic' (a classic text on children's education). Paper, ink, and brushes are available at the shop. It will be ready tomorrow." The village official sat for a while and then left. At noon, a servant from the Guan family came and said, "My master told the teacher to send me to say that your daughter should come." Old Yin smiled and said, "Please go and thank your master." The servant left.

Old Yin hurriedly bought a book on daughters, gave a tael of silver for a small gift of tea, and took out paper, ink, brushes, and inkstones. He had his servant bring a gift box to put everything in, and then sent the table and chairs over. The next morning, he dressed his daughter and personally brought her to the Guan family. She greeted the teacher and all the students. He then asked the tutor to take her to see the Guan family. Mrs. Guan liked the girl and gave her a few velvet flowers and a silk handkerchief. Then she came out to study. The students saw that the girl was charming and beautiful, with a fair face, bright red lips, and long black hair. They all smiled and nodded at each other. The teacher had to attend literary gatherings every three or six days and also had to take care of household chores, so he could only be at the school for half a month a month.

The next day, the teacher was not home, and the four college students gathered together to discuss, "Such a good piece of meat is right in front of us, wouldn't it be a waste not to try it?" One said, "She's young, I'm afraid she doesn't know the ways of the world, what if she starts making a fuss?" Another said, "We should gently entice her, not force her, we have to do this and that, maybe we can entice her." Another added, "We can't keep it from the three young ones, I'm afraid they'll tell others." One said, "Let's call them over, we'll discuss it with her." So they called the three young students over and said, "Don't you love the Yin family's daughter?" One laughed and said, "Of course we love her, I just saw her bending over picking up a pen cap from the ground, a round bottom, a crease in her clothes, so interesting!" One of the college students said, "We're planning to mess with her, to see what she's like, but you're young, you don't know how to do it yet, we'll pool some money for you three, don't you want it?" Tell people, when you are older, I will give you a taste. Guan Er said: "He just went to the backyard to urinate. I followed him quietly, wanting to see his buttocks. Unexpectedly, he covered it tightly with his skirt and couldn't see any of it." When he got up, I went to see how his urine had flushed the floor. It was so interesting. I wanted to see it even if I didn't want any money. If he did, he had to take care of me, otherwise I would tell my husband. The two younger ones also said, "Like him, I also want to take a look." The college student said: "If you say so, that's all. You must do it this way." "Everyone made a decision, and everyone went back to their seats. One person went to buy some candies to treat him, and the other one went to buy some fruits to treat him. After all, it was a girl's house, and she was too shy to eat. This one said: "We classmates are studying like brothers and sisters. What are we afraid of? "That one said: "Don't talk about brother and sister, even husband and wife are not so intimate. "He also looked at people and smiled, but didn't answer anything they said to him. After a few days, when he got used to it, he would just talk and laugh, and he would eat a little if he was asked again and again.

One day, the teacher went out again. The students played for a while and saw two chickens fighting in the yard. One pointed and laughed, "These chickens fighting, butt to butt, what's so interesting about that? Do they even feel happy?" Another said, "They don't seem happy. Look at that hen, all her feathers are loosened, and when she shakes, it looks like a couple having sex." Another said, "There's definitely something good about having sex. Look at that duck, it has something, and it makes the duck quack happily." One said, "What does it matter? Look at that big donkey, it makes that straw donkey slurp loudly." Yet another said, "I wonder if people would quack like that." One said, "Of course they would! My neighbor, Old Qiu, a big man like a Vajra, married a wife." Pointing, he said, "She's only about the size of a girl named Yin. The other day I heard her groaning next door..." "I thought someone was sick, so I peeked through the crack in the board. It turned out that Boss Qiu was pressing his wife down on the edge of the bed and doing it to her. It was his wife moaning. I saw that his cunt was thick, big, and long, and I suspected that his wife was moaning in pain. But after watching for a while, his wife cried out, 'I'm so happy, brother, be rougher and faster!' Boss Qiu then thrust into her hard like a pestle, and his wife moaned and cried out. She looked so happy. I didn't even have a pistol, so I just pulled it off." One of them laughed and said, "I don't believe that. Someone as big as Yin is only good with men as big as us. How could she withstand such a big cunt? Wouldn't she be ruined in one go?" Another said, "What does it matter? A woman is born with this cunt to be used. It doesn't matter how big it is. The bigger it is, the more happy he is." Everyone laughed heartily. The woman also listened to them with her ears turned up, her face red, and she couldn't stop laughing. One said, "Talking about this for so long has been so painful, my stomach is churning. If Miss Yin were here, we'd all fire our pistols and have a contest of who can shoot the furthest." Another said, "Miss Yin married a much older man later, so why would she care about our little ones?" One said, "That's not how it works. If she wouldn't show us hers, why should we show ours to her?" Another said, "Alright, let's go inside and look for her." So they all laughed and rushed into the house, closing the door behind them.

Although young, the girl was clever and quick-witted. Hearing these people talk about the village's lewdness, she was aroused and found it fascinating, but she didn't dare ask. Hearing them talk about going to play with hand cannons, she wondered how they did it and wanted to see what the object looked like. So she secretly went to the lattice window to look inside. [The author initially wrote that the teacher's bedroom used old lattice doors, and I suspected it was a change to describe the school rooms using wooden partitions, fearing it would be too cumbersome. But upon reading this, I realized it was left as a place for the girl to look inside, almost concealed by the author.] She saw several people facing outwards, using their hands to pull at the object. [This shows the group's deliberate seduction.] Of the four college students, one had an object over four inches long, three were only about three inches, and the three smallest were only the size of a finger. He watched without getting aroused, thinking, "It's a pity there are so many people. If it were just one or two, I'd try it out with them and see what it's like. They say it's very pleasurable, I wonder what kind of pleasure it is?" He also tucked his hands into his sleeves, reached into his crotch, touched his vulva, and probed with his fingers, wondering what the situation was like. He saw that after a while, one of them produced some fluid, and another produced some clear fluid. Suddenly, he realized, "I heard people talk about the city, I think this is it, isn't that the little dot on the egg yolk?" Lost in thought, his eyes fixed on the room. Although these boys were firing their pistols inside, intending to lure him to watch, while firing, their eyes were fixed on the window. They vaguely saw him peeking there, and suddenly they all ran out. Seeing him, they laughed and said, "Miss Yin is peeking at us." They laughed heartily, and the woman blushed with embarrassment, laughing as she ran to sit down in her seat. The crowd said, "Let's go eat lunch. Hurry up, or we'll be fined five coins." The woman went first, and the crowd discussed, "This girl seems to be interested too. What should we do?" Guan Da said, "If there are many of us, and we all go at her at once, she definitely won't agree. If I manage to seduce her, you can all go one by one. Then she won't be able to resist. You can come back late for lunch, and I'll wait for her to come and tease her. Will you all agree to this good fortune?" The crowd laughed and agreed before leaving.

Guan Da quickly ate his lunch and went to the school. The woman next door arrived quickly as well. Guan Da was confident he could seduce her. He sat down on a chair, took out his penis, and held it in his hand. He looked out the window and saw the silhouette of a woman. Knowing it was him, he called out, "My good cunt, you've made me so happy! My sweetheart, my darling, my tender hole!" The woman was about to enter when she heard him. She opened the window and saw him calling out and holding his penis. Unable to resist a chuckle, Guan Da rushed out and grabbed her, saying, "Sister, please save me while no one's around." The woman didn't resist, and he carried her to the master's bed in the room, where he began to pull down her pants. The woman said, "I'm afraid of pain." Guan Da said, "Don't be afraid. What woman wouldn't want to be hurt by someone else?" [His coaxing was reasonable.] The woman had been tempted for a while and let him undress her. He suddenly saw the slit and didn't know where to start. He lowered his head and used his fingers to pry it open, figuring out the acupoint. The woman closed her eyes and just smiled. He used a lot of saliva, then put it on and inserted it inside. The woman said, "Ouch! It hurts a lot." Guan Da said, "It's the first time, so it will hurt a little. Just bear with it. After this, next time it will only be pleasurable. I've heard people say that the first time is like being cut by a knife, the second time is like being stabbed by a spear, and the third time is like being pleasurable. You'll be fine after this pain." The woman just frowned and didn't say anything. After a while, Guan Da felt a buzzing sensation inside him, a buzzing that felt incredibly pleasurable, and he finished in an instant. The woman touched it with her hand, looked at it, and said, "You've made me bleed." Guan Da took out a handkerchief and wiped away the scarlet spots.

The woman took it and tucked it into her belt. Just as she finished dressing, all the students rushed in, saying, "You two have done a good job! You're the same kind of people, why are you favoring one over the other? Unless we all get to taste it, we won't be able to do it when the teacher reports it." The woman blushed deeply and sat on the bed with her face turned away. Guan Dadao said, "Don't be anxious, things can be discussed." The crowd replied, "What's there to discuss? We'll settle things ourselves, otherwise, we'll go tell Master Yin, what about you two?" Guan Dadao said, "You all go out, I'll talk to Miss Yin." After everyone left, Guan Dadao put his arm around her and said, "What should we do? You should settle things with them, otherwise, what will happen if things get out of hand?" The woman said, "You started this." Guan Dadao said, "What's done is done, complaining won't help. You should settle things with them, firstly to keep them quiet, and secondly to ensure a long-term solution."

The woman was afraid of disturbing her husband's parents, and since it was her first time, she didn't feel much pain. Later, when she experienced pleasure, she became reluctant to part with him, saying, "Mine still hurts." Guan Da said, "If you're willing, it doesn't have to be today. What's wrong with tomorrow?" The woman said, "There are too many people. How can it be possible?" Guan Da said, "There's no reason for everyone to come at once. Take turns, one or two at a time, it's up to you." The woman lowered her head and remained silent. Guan Da said, "Come here." The group came in and asked, "What do you mean?" Guan Da said, "Miss Yin is willing, but you're not allowed to do anything reckless. Starting tomorrow, you'll take turns, one person at a time. If there's an argument and Miss Yin refuses, I won't care." He laughed and said, "Aren't you going to thank her for her reward?" The group laughed and knelt down, kowtowing, saying, "Thank you for your reward, Miss." [They were quite a bunch of mischievous kids.] Guan Da pulled one of them around and said with a smile, "You'll have to accept their treatment." He blushed and lowered his head, laughing.

The young girl was quite ashamed and said to Guan Da, "I'm going home." She got out of bed and left. Guan Da, seeing her shyness, didn't try to stop her, but said, "I'll be waiting for you tomorrow." She didn't answer. [The description is of a girl, but one who appears both shy and happy.] When she got home, her mother asked, "Why are you back so early today?" She had no answer and said, "I feel a little unwell." Her mother saw her disheveled hair and asked, "What happened to your hair?" She looked in the mirror and saw that she had been rubbing it on the pillow earlier. [Extremely detailed; even such details are not overlooked.] He said, "I slept on the teacher's bed for a while and then we parted ways." His mother didn't suspect him. That night, he was both happy and ashamed. By next morning, he had already washed and dressed to go, but suddenly a pang of guilt struck him again. He thought, "With so many people around, how can I do this with them? [This change of heart is quite clever; it reflects the thoughts of a young girl who has just lost her virginity. A promiscuous woman would not think the same way.] Besides, I don't know if it will hurt today. If it just hurts like this, what's the fun? They all say it's pleasurable, but I don't know if it's true or not." He then used one finger to probe his vulva, finding it quite different from before. He inserted some fluid without realizing it and laughed, "It probably doesn't hurt anymore." In the end, he was too embarrassed to refuse, and his mother didn't force him.

After breakfast, the teacher went out again. The students said, "It's strange that he didn't come today. If he refuses to come again, it will only benefit Guan Laoda." Guan Da said, "It's all because of you reckless fools. Wait a couple of days until she's more experienced and has had some fun, then we can all try. You're trying to get everything on the first try. Isn't she a little girl shy? If this goes wrong, we'll all be out of luck." One of them said, "No need to complain. If she doesn't come, her father will bring the tables and chairs. She's probably just shy. I'll go tell the teacher to call her and see if she comes." The others said, "That makes sense." So he went to the Yin family to call her. The girl thought, "Since the teacher is in the school, I'm not afraid of them." So she went to the schoolhouse.

As soon as she entered, she saw everyone playing and jumping on the ground, but she didn't see the teacher. She turned to go back. The crowd stepped forward to stop him, saying, "We kowtowed yesterday and thanked you for your gifts. How can you go back on your word?" He smiled, his face flushed, and sat down in his seat. Guan Da approached him and whispered in his ear, "It was made clear yesterday that there's no room for negotiation. You try to talk to them and shut them up. Whether they agree or not is up to you." The woman was somewhat unwilling at this point, but she couldn't answer. She just lowered her head. Guan Da pinched her and said, "You'll do as I say." Then he said to the crowd, "I begged Miss Yin repeatedly, and she agreed. But how do you plan to take turns? Whose turn is it today?" One said, "It's me! It's me!" Another said, "Let me have it." They argued incessantly. Guan Da said, "You can't keep making a scene like this. Do as I say, I'll be the longest weed, and you can take turns. The longest goes first, the shortest goes second. No more arguing. If you keep making a fuss, I won't care anymore." The crowd said, "Yes, yes, yes." Guan Da They made grass and told them to pick it. The youngest picked a long one, Guan Er was the second, and the one with the big lizard was the third. The others were all picked. The crowd said, "Let's go back to the bed inside." The woman sat there, unwilling to move. Guan Da went forward and picked her up, saying, "We're all familiar faces, what's there to be ashamed of?" He carried her to the bed in the inner room. The woman said, "Oh no, yesterday when I went back, the Empress asked me why my hair was messy. I lied to her. If my hair is messy again today, how will I answer when I go back?" Guan Da said, "Isn't that your dressing mirror? Just comb it again." He added, "Let me take off your pants first, the little one doesn't know how." The woman laughed. Guan Da took them off and laid her down. He looked at her vulva and probed it with his finger, laughing, "It's completely different from yesterday. I guarantee you won't feel any pain anymore." The woman just laughed. The two kissed and teased each other for a while.

The one who came out called out, "Go." Seeing the woman lying on her back, he hurriedly climbed onto the bed, pulled down his pants, and his little penis, no bigger than a little finger, climbed onto her stomach and poked a few times between her legs, saying, "I don't know how, let them do it." He got off and went out, saying, "Give me some money back, I don't know how to do that." One of them said, "You've already done it and you still want money?" He got anxious and said, "Go ask them if I've done it or not." Guan Er took out five coins and gave them to him, saying, "Here you go, wait for me to go." He then came in and got onto the bed, climbing on top of her. He was clever and skilled, using his hand to find the orifice and then pinching his penis to insert it. [Of the three children, Guan Er is described as a sharp-tongued and clever little boy, probably a very wicked person. Judging from his first act of urinating on the woman and the way he did it, one can know his character.] He found it very amusing and kept saying, "How wonderful, how wonderful!" He finished quickly, producing some clear fluid. The woman felt no pain; instead, she was aroused by his stimulation, feeling a ticklish, pleasant discomfort. She thought, "This isn't good enough; a bigger one would be better." Guan Er got up and came out. The college student said, "You're so fast, it's my turn." He went into the room and saw the woman sitting up to put on her pants. He stepped forward and pressed her down, saying, "Don't put them on yet. They're not good enough. If you don't mind, I'll try them on with you." The woman, not yet satisfied, stopped trying to put them on. Knowing he was willing, she laid him down and took out her penis. The woman had seen him yesterday; it was the first large one she'd ever seen. He said, "Yours is bigger than theirs, don't be rash." He laughed, "Do you need to tell me that?" He smeared some saliva on his glans, lifted her legs, and gently pushed it in. Her little vulva, which had just been soaked by Guan Er, slid in halfway. He asked her, "Does it hurt?" The woman said, "A little." He said, "It's alright." He pushed it in a few more times, and the woman said, "It's swollen and painful." He pulled and tugged for a while, and seeing the woman's buttocks twisting, he knew she was getting better. He said to her, "If you feel a little itchy inside, hold my waist with your hands so I can push harder." He pulled and tugged a few more times, and seeing the woman's eyes watery, she gradually became more relaxed and reached out to hold him. Knowing that the time was right, he thrust wildly, and the woman's face turned red. She shivered, knowing he had come. He thrust hard a few more times, and she ejaculated. The woman raised her tender buttocks up twice. He leaned over her and asked with a laugh, "Is it enjoyable?" The woman smiled and nodded. He hugged her and kissed her on the lips, wanting her tongue. The woman turned her head away, laughing and refusing. He said, "If you don't stick it out, I won't let you get up." The woman had no choice but to stick it out a little, which he held tightly in his mouth and sucked on, refusing to let go. The woman twisted him, and he finally spat it out, saying, "Such a sweet tongue." He then asked with a laugh, "How was the little one?" He laughed and said, "He poked twice between my legs and ran away." The two laughed for a while before getting up to put on their trousers. The woman also got up and put them on, then went to the table to get a mirror to check her hair. After he finished drinking, everyone came in and looked at him, laughing. He lowered his head and laughed too. The college student said to the elementary school student, "Miss Yin is angry with you. She said you poked her leg until it was swollen." Everyone laughed heartily. The little boy blushed with embarrassment and ran out. Guan Da said, "It's time for dinner. Miss, go eat." The woman came out, and Guan Da saw her off. She said, "The teacher isn't here, so I won't come." [She said she wouldn't come, but she meant it.] Guan Da said, "It's boring sitting at home. Why don't you come? We can chat and have fun. We can do it tomorrow, but whether you do it today is up to you." He then asked, "Did you do it well just now?" The woman remained silent, blushing. Guan Da laughed and said, "What's there to be shy about with you?" He nodded with a smile.

After getting home and eating, I couldn't shake the feeling that something was weighing on my mind, and my feet kept moving. Just as I sat down, the two men who hadn't yet come closer whispered, "Although we were supposed to be there tomorrow, we're all friends. They all got ahead, leaving us two waiting. How can you bear to do that, young lady? Besides, the older one shouldn't be here today. You already agreed to his request, so why are you treating us so differently? We dare not force you; we'll leave it to you." Then she called to the other one, "Come here, let's all kneel down." "Please, let's see what the young lady says." The woman, no longer feeling ashamed, and having already tasted some sweetness, thought, "This isn't difficult at all. Those two aren't afraid of anything. They've already done the most serious ones, so why not try this one too? Let's see how it goes. Besides, it's fine with those who've done it before, but these three haven't, so it's a bit awkward. It'll be good if we all get to know each other." Seeing the three kneeling without agreeing, she stood up and went into the house. The three knew she had agreed and were overjoyed.

The next one, grinning, followed him in. Seeing him sitting on the edge of the bed, he grabbed him and pulled him onto the bed, taking off his skirt and trousers. The two of them started to do it. Although his penis wasn't small, he finished after only twenty or thirty thrusts. The woman was a little embarrassed, but seeing that he was no longer moving, she was very unhappy and pushed him away, saying, "You want to do this looking like this?" The other one, ashamed, hurriedly got off the bed. The other one came over and said, "You're not good enough. Let me serve you, Miss." So he got on the bed and started doing it. This one was very skilled and had a long time on his hands. He made the woman come twice before ejaculating, and she was still clinging to him, reluctant to pull out. The other one stood in front of the bed and said, "What a novel thing. Let everyone try something new. You're enjoying it all by yourself." The other one laughed and pulled out, saying, "Here you go." He climbed on top of her, touched her vulva, and found it wet. He laughed and said, "Oh, Miss, he made you pee." [Wonderful, this is something a child who has never seen before.] The woman smiled, wiped herself with a handkerchief, and then the semen was inserted. Her vagina was filled with the semen of the two men, feeling sticky and slippery, with no end in sight. The woman was completely unaware. He poked around a few times, then got up and said, "I thought it would be so interesting, but it's not as fun as masturbation. If I had known it would be like this, I would have just asked for a cheaper price." [Even more interesting, although this passage is obscene, the seven students each have their own methods of penetration and manipulation, none of them repeating the same thing.] The woman also got up, wiped herself clean, and combed her hair. As evening approached, everyone dispersed.

After having her fun, the woman came to the school early the next morning, only waiting for the teacher to leave. The two younger ones didn't count; even Guan Er was too young to be of much use. She would definitely take turns with the four older ones in one day.

Two years later, when she turned fourteen, her father said, "Our daughter is growing up; tell her not to go." She refused, saying, "Since I'm already studying, I might as well learn more characters. I'm grown up now; I don't care what anyone does to me." [This is extremely true, though it's a pointless situation.] She insisted on going, and her parents couldn't persuade her otherwise, so they had to let her. In those two years, the older children had all grown into large men, their penises more developed. The two younger children, since losing their virginity, had also gradually grown larger. Whenever her teacher wasn't around, she did as she pleased, having sex four or five times a day. She had a special skill, but no one taught her; she figured it out herself—a technique of locking and releasing in her vagina, incredibly powerful. If she liked a particular child, she could have sex with her for a while; if she wasn't, a few locks would be enough to dismount her. The children both loved and feared her. They fawned over her, and she, as happy as a mistress, wouldn't give up, continuing her indulgence for another year. By the time she turned fifteen and had grown into a young woman, not only did her parents object, but she herself felt it inappropriate to continue her relationship and had to stay at home.

For three years, he experienced a period of great activity, followed by periods of quiet loneliness at home, filled with unbearable distress, yet unable to express it. He was naturally intelligent, and although he had been involved with others thousands of times, he had still learned many characters in those three years. Furthermore, this group of wicked young men had conspired to rape and deceive this woman, initially for their own benefit, and thus they had agreed to keep it a secret for the long term. Therefore, for three years, the secret remained undiscovered. Seeing that she was no longer coming, he knew there was no hope left, and often spoke of the beauty and virtue of the Yin family girl in casual conversation. Eventually, word spread throughout the neighborhood, and those who heard her name thought that such a young girl was so lewd and would cover their ears and avoid her. So, by the age of nineteen, no one had proposed marriage. Old Yin had heard this and secretly told his wife. The wife cursed him for days, saying, "I refused that day, but you insisted! Now you've made such a fool of yourself; how will you ever marry?" After that, the wife was careful, fearing her daughter would cause trouble at home again. She kept a close watch on her, always by her side. At night, she told the old man to sleep in the shop, while she slept with her daughter. [The thief is gone; what good is closing the door?] The girl was not only imprisoned by her mother, but also in a cramped room. Even lovers had nowhere to be together. Helpless, she could only sigh during the day and beat the bed and pillow at night. Her mother knew she longed for her son-in-law but couldn't say anything. She couldn't bear it and said a few words, but the girl ignored them.

Meanwhile, after Ying Yang's injury, although his money-making face remained the same, his money-making genitals were useless. [Perhaps it was because his family's feng shui was bad; his father had a good genital area but a bad face, and he had a good face but a bad genital area. Was it because their ancestors hadn't accumulated enough virtue?] Because of his long, protruding intestines, he walked with a limp, and his back was somewhat hunched. How could he possibly work as a court official? He could only work as a lowly soldier in the troupe, doing odd jobs or playing the drum, occasionally earning a few coins, barely enough for his family's daily food. At seventeen, his mother died, and his savings were almost depleted. After three years of mourning, he wanted to find a wife to manage the household. [Upon reading this, I couldn't help but close the book and sigh deeply. What kind of person was Yingyang? He only thought of marrying after three years of mourning! In a family of scholars and propriety, there are those who marry while their parents are still in mourning—what kind of heart does he have?] Because of his good looks, he longed to marry a beautiful woman. He often thought, "With a face like mine, how could I face an ugly woman? I mustn't be rash; I must only consider marriage if I find one I like."

One day, he went to Old Man Yin's shop to buy some things. He saw a beautiful woman talking to Old Man Yin while lifting half of the curtain. When she saw him, she quickly lowered the curtain, but still held it open a crack with her snow-white hand, her beautiful eyes fixed on him. Although Ying Yang was talking to Old Man Yin, his eyes kept glancing inside the curtain. Old Man Yin checked the items and gave them to him. He couldn't stay any longer, so he had to come out, but he kept looking back. The woman also showed her face, staring intently. Once she saw him in the distance, she asked her father, "Who is this man? How do you recognize him, Father?" The old man replied, "A child from the street, how could I not recognize him? He lives at the west end, he's Ying Daguan, the opera singer." The woman thought, "What a handsome young man! Much better than those students from before. If I marry him, I could hold him in my arms at night, wouldn't that be quite enjoyable?" [This may not be certain; after gaining Long, one might covet Shu.] As Ying Yang walked, he thought to himself, "I've often heard that the Yin family has a nice daughter, but I thought she was just passable. Who knew she was so beautiful? I'm afraid she's not the one." Then he thought, "There aren't many people in his family. If it's not her, then who is it? She looked at me so intently just now, she must have some feelings for me. I'd be happy with a wife like that." Then he thought again, "No, I heard that she was already involved with six or seven students when she was twelve or thirteen. She's a good-for-nothing. What use is she?" Then he thought again, "There's no way that's happening. Someone must be angry with old man Yin and is trying to bury his daughter. So what if she's a good-for-nothing? Some people marry prostitutes. I'll ask someone to talk to her."

Two months later, he invited a close friend of old man Yin to a tavern and drank two jugs of wine with him, asking him to go to the Yin family to propose marriage. The man interrupted his drinking and had no choice but to go and tell old man Yin that Ying Yang was proposing marriage. The old man had raised his daughter to nineteen years old, and no one had ever come to propose marriage to her. Hearing this, he was pleased, thinking to himself, "What a pity she's an actress." He said, "Please sit down, let me discuss it with my wife." He went inside and told the old woman, adding, "In terms of character, he's a good match for my daughter, but although we're poor, marrying her to an actress might make us a laughingstock." The old woman, seeing that her children were grown up and no one had ever mentioned marriage to them, and seeing them complaining day and night, knew they wanted to get married. Besides, she was already of age and wanted to raise them until the day came. She said, "My daughter is grown up, and indeed, she's a good person. Let's give her to him. These days, even actors can become officials." The old man said, "Don't rush, things will unfold naturally." "Take your time." The woman inside heard her father tell her mother that the winner had come to propose marriage. She was overjoyed, but when her father said he refused because he was an actor, she became anxious and was about to speak up. However, her mother's words of persuasion were very agreeable, and she thought her father would surely agree. But he still refused. Unable to contain her anger, she blurted out, "Whenever no one comes to propose, he complains about taking care of his old daughter at home. When someone comes, he complains about everything. What's wrong with actors? Do actors not eat? There are half actors in Kunshan. Are they all without wives? I know you should take care of me as your old daughter." She started to sob. The old woman said, "Listen to him, since he is willing, just agree." The old man glared at her, thinking to himself, "I've lived for so many years, [the phrase 'so many years' is used everywhere, and although I've read it many times, I don't know how to interpret it. I guess 'so many years' means five fingers, or perhaps over fifty?] and I've never seen such an old woman." [Perhaps there is some truth to this.] He sighed and said, "Judging from this, the rumors from that day are probably true to some extent, [but not just a little!] Well, I suppose no one wants it anyway, so let's just go with the flow and give it to him." He then came out and said, "I just discussed it with my wife. Since you, brother, have spoken so kindly, let's agree to it. We're both just trying to make a living, and I have nothing to give in return. His family won't have to go to any trouble either. Their children are grown up, so let's just make do." The messenger said, "The two families are so considerate, that's even better." He replied to Yingyang's letter, overjoyed. He wanted to look good, so he took out all his private savings, used Min's hairpin and pearls to make a pair of hairpins and pendants, exchanged several pieces of jewelry, and made two sets of clothes. Although not very lavish, he had everything he needed. [In Jiangnan, people who borrow money to marry are said to have a loose cunt but a tight debt; Yingyang is fortunate not to have fallen into this trap.] He chose a day to send them over. When the woman saw the fine pearls and gold hairpin, she secretly rejoiced, thinking, "He thinks he's an actress? I'm afraid if he weren't an actress, he might not even be able to keep up with his family."

On the auspicious day, the old man Yin sent some dowry the day before, and the bride arrived the following night. Upon meeting, they were immediately captivated and married that night. Yingyang's manhood was still intact, and his stamina was still strong. When Yin married him, she thought that although he was handsome, his inner qualities might not be so great; she only hoped he could be as good as her student and she would be content. However, she was far more than she expected. She had long forgotten the meaning of shame, and now she had found a husband who was both beautiful and virtuous, and she was overjoyed. She and Yingyang were deeply in love and affectionate. Yingyang had originally decided to marry a "broken pot" (a term for a woman of questionable character), and his penis was magnificent. Yin, having only experienced a few light flings and not yet given birth, had gained some weight in the past four or five years. Her inner parts were also very full. Yingyang only felt her tightness and beauty, not her width and depth. He found it even more interesting when she occasionally engaged in sexual activity, and seeing her tender and gentle nature, he loved her to the fullest. [The man's name was Yang and the woman's surname was Yin; naturally, Yin and Yang complemented each other perfectly, like fish and water.] The next day, many colleagues came to congratulate them, and they received many gifts, hosting several days of banquets.

When Yin was at home, because her father was a solitary man and never had any relatives or friends, seeing her family so lively made her even happier, and they were especially affectionate that night. [An ancient saying goes: "Snobbery begins in the family," but this snobbery begins even more in the bedroom.] Ying Yang worked hard during the day and chopped at night for several days in a row, and his old illness flared up. His back ached so badly he was bent over, and blood kept flowing from his large intestine, making him unable to move. Yin was very distressed and took good care of him. When asked about the cause of his illness, Ying Yang recounted the past events in detail. He was grateful to Min Shi, which goes without saying. He cursed Nie Bianbao for four or five days straight. Yingyang recovered somewhat after more than ten days. His illness, which had previously been suppressed due to his lack of a wife, was now largely aroused. Now, with a young, beautiful, and promiscuous woman, he could no longer resist the urge to indulge in pleasure every two or three days, every ten days or so. After each encounter, he would inevitably fall asleep.

One day, Yin, deeply in love with him, reluctantly tried to persuade him against his will. [Ingenious! Though she tried to persuade him against her will, she couldn't deny his desire.] He couldn't bear it and insisted on frequent practice. Within a month or so, he had turned the handsome young official into a sallow-skinned, thin man, and he slept for almost a month before finally recovering. Only then did he realize how potent this aphrodisiac was, a fact not recorded in the herbal texts, and his condition improved somewhat. Therefore, I added a section to the herbal texts so that future generations would be aware and avoid it:

A woman's genitals are also called "pin," commonly known as "bi." Northerners call it "bazi," Fujianese call it "jiwai," and Sichuanese call it "pi." It resembles a dried vegetable, varying in size and hair. Though slightly different, their forms are the same. They are salty and slightly toxic. Small doses prevent excessive yang energy, while regular use causes frequent coughing. Excessive use leads to weakness and incurable cowardice. Domesticated varieties are superior; those from middle-class families, though better, are more toxic. Accidental ingestion of the toxic ones causes malignant sores like syphilis. Wild-grown varieties taste excellent but are highly toxic and may be fatal. Patients should not take them, especially those recovering from illness, as it will inevitably cause a relapse, known as "color recurrence." Taking it after a heavy meal or when drunk will damage the five internal organs and cause strange illnesses. After taking it, avoid all cold foods to prevent developing a yin deficiency syndrome, which can lead to cold water poisoning.

This substance, from ancient times to the present, and throughout the world, has been used as a common food. Upon hearing my words, probably no one will fail to laugh at my pedantry, but understanding the underlying principles will naturally bring benefit without harm. For example, ginseng, taken occasionally, has its benefits; but if it is consumed like food, how can it not be fatal? Is this the fault of ginseng? This is merely taking the excess of ginseng, which is still considered medicine. Just as fine white rice, fragrant pastries, and even delicacies are all delicious, eating them two or three times a day, only until you are 80% full, will naturally nourish you. But if you force yourself to eat them constantly, day and night, simply because they are delicious, you will surely become ill. Just as too much wine harms the wine, and too much tea harms the tea, this applies to food as well. How much more so to a woman's body? Everything in the world should not be excessive; the same principle applies. Now,

let's talk about Yingyang. Since marrying Yinshi, he couldn't bear to leave her at home. He was often ill and even stopped going to the opera troupe. With nothing to do at home, he was even more delighted to see that Yinshi could read. He taught her to read the scripts, and she could learn them after three or five repetitions. He also taught her the singing style, which she mastered after only a few repetitions. Yingyang played the flute perfectly, and she was so happy that he scratched his ears and cheeks. Yinshi, also with nothing to do, found singing very interesting and learned many of her husband's romantic female roles. Yingyang said to him, "Although I am a leading female role, I know all the songs for the supporting female roles, and I can even play male roles. I'll play them with you one by one." She then taught him quite a few songs for the supporting female roles, and also taught him the key phrases and dialogue. When they performed together, if there was anything he didn't do, Yingyang would point it out, and he would understand. She was, after all, a woman with a graceful figure and a charming voice, natural and unpretentious, possessing a unique kind of loveliness. Yingyang felt that there was a gem before her, and considered herself inferior. She wrote a few lines praising Yin Shi: "

Her forehead is wrapped in a headscarf, like a misty black fog. Her face is powdered, like specks of new frost. Her lips are adorned with rouge, her voice like carved feathers. When she opens her mouth, fragrance fills the air; her eyebrows are delicately arched, and she smiles sweetly. When she enters the stage, her emerald green face greets everyone, truly outshining any imposter, enough to make any fashionable rabbit jealous."

The couple enjoyed happiness for over half a year, but by the time Yingyang married her, they were penniless. He then fell ill and needed medication, which led to financial ruin. During this time, Yin's jewelry and clothes were gradually pawned, and their resources dwindled. Yin, though heartbroken for her husband, was virtuous and kind. She pawned everything without hesitation, preferring a simple life without complaint. One day, Yingyang said to her, "This life is unbearable. I might have to go back to the opera troupe to earn some money to supplement our income." Yin replied, "I know that, but you are ill. How can you go? We still have some things; let's pawn them for now." Yingyang said, "It's not a normal way. Only spending without income, what will we do when we've pawned everything? We'll have to go." Yin, seeing his reasoning, couldn't object further and returned to the troupe. Opera in the south often required night shifts, and he frequently didn't return home, leaving Yin feeling lonely and desolate.

One day, after Yingyang had been gone for two nights, Yin went to the door to look for him. She saw a young man, only about twenty years old, with an air of nobility, elegant and dashing, and very handsome. She thought to herself, "I only thought my husband was handsome enough, who knew there could be such a man among men." With this thought in mind, her eyes involuntarily drifted to the man's face. [A masterful stroke of the pen, conveying the emotion perfectly.] The young man, suddenly seeing a beautiful woman frequently glancing around, also fixed his gaze on Yin's face. Yin suddenly remembered she was at the door, fearing someone might see her inappropriately, and shrank back a little. But unable to resist the man's constant turning back, she involuntarily leaned out again. [The description of the two being bewitched is exquisite. Before her marriage, Yin gazed at Ying Yang, and Ying Yang looked back, thus becoming a real couple. Now, she gazed at the gold mine, and the gold mine looked back, thus becoming a fake couple. A woman must have a wicked heart to look at someone; if their hearts are in sync, there is no way they won't commit adultery. How true it is that a woman must sit quietly in her boudoir to be a virtuous wife.] Only after the man had gone far away did he come in. He sat for a short while, but couldn't sit still, feeling as if the man was still on the street. His feet unconsciously wandered out again. Strangely enough, just as he reached the door, the man walked up to him. Yin thought to herself, "I had a feeling it was him. I didn't bother coming out to see, but he actually came." She couldn't help but chuckle. This chuckle wasn't meant to seduce, but rather to laugh at her own infatuation. The young man, mistaking her chuckle for a romantic one, also smiled and looked back, taking two or three steps at a time, slowly walking away. Yin went back to her room and sat for a while. Yingyang returned, his brow furrowed, sighing. Yin asked, "What's wrong?" Yingyang said, "I've worked hard for two nights, earned some money, and wanted to use it to buy firewood and rice. Today a friend's family has a happy occasion, and the troupe invited me to contribute. I also accepted his gift when I married you, so I have to give him some face-saving money. I was afraid you'd be waiting, so I had to come back to tell you. I have to go tonight, and I have another performance tomorrow, so I won't be able to come back. There's no firewood or rice at home, not a single copper coin. What should I do?" Yin said, "Fool, do you think you can just get money like that? Contributing is expected, but we don't have firewood or rice, I'm hungry..." "What's the big deal about one meal?" Yingyang laughed. "As for the second meal, I won't be back until the day after tomorrow. Are you really going to go hungry for two days?" Yinshi said, "Whatever you take, just deposit a few dozen coins to buy some firewood and rice." She then picked out a silver ear fungus from her hair and handed it to him. Yingyang took it, sighed, and went away for a while. He returned with two liters of rice and two bundles of firewood, saying, "I deposited eighty copper coins. After buying the firewood and rice, this is what's left for you to buy some side dishes." Yinshi took it and put it away. Yingyang said, "I'm leaving now. Close the door. Don't look for me tomorrow." Yinshi closed the door and went to bed, thinking: My husband is sick and in pain. The money he earns day and night isn't even enough for his travel expenses. What will happen if he collapses from exhaustion? He was truly starving to death. Seeing his constant anxiety and pitiful state, he had no choice but to let his mind wander. Suddenly, he felt as if the young man was standing right in front of him again. He laughed and said, "I've got it! I think that man must be from a wealthy family." He seemed to have feelings for me. If I seduced him, I wouldn't have to worry about food and clothing, and besides, he might not even ruin me. But my husband would probably be angry. He thought again: He's extremely poor now and works very hard. If he had a bowl of rice ready to eat, he would be free! I see that he's sick and can't move around much. Seeing me young and alone, he must feel a little resentful. If I take a wicked path, he probably won't blame me. If I do it behind his back, I'll be heartless. I'll discuss it with him and see what he says. If he agrees, wouldn't that be killing two birds with one stone? He chuckled to himself, "This is my wishful thinking. I wonder what he thinks? I'll wait and see." Thinking this, he fell asleep.

At dawn, after washing and dressing, and having breakfast, she strolled to the door to check. There she saw the man again, staring at her blankly, a fan falling from his sleeve to the ground. Seeing him staring blankly, unaware he'd dropped his fan, and not wanting to say anything, Yin smiled and pointed to the ground. The man turned and hurriedly picked up the fan, glancing around to make sure no one was watching. He then approached and bowed deeply, saying, "Thank you, Your Majesty, for pointing it out to me; otherwise, it would have been a pity to drop it." Yin quickly stepped behind the door and returned the bow

. The man grinned and asked, "What is your esteemed surname?" Reader, wait a minute. Is it possible for a woman and a man to suddenly start bowing and chatting like this? There's a reason. This woman had feelings for him, hence her unconscious smile and pointing to the fan—clearly, she was inviting a thief in. The man's surname was Jin, and his given name was Kuang. His father was a scholar who had passed the imperial examinations and was now a county magistrate. His family was incredibly wealthy, and he was known for his frivolous pursuits. Seeing the woman repeatedly look at him with affection, he knew she had already made up her mind. He had seen her twice yesterday, and after inquiring, he learned she was Ying Dan's wife. He had heard her family was currently facing considerable hardship, so she had brought some silver today, intending to seize the opportunity to get close to him. Now that he had this chance, how could he resist? If the woman had a stern expression, he would have been bold enough to act so recklessly. [This pause is brilliant. Without explaining it clearly, wouldn't the plan have failed miserably?] Yin replied, "My family name is Ying." The man said, "This surname is very rare in our county. There is a high-ranking official named Ying who is a friend of ours in the opera troupe. Are you related?" Yin said, "That is my husband." The man said, "My humble surname is Jin. The county magistrate is my father. High-ranking official Ying often performs at our house. We know him. Please invite him out for a meeting." Yin said, "I have business to attend to." The man said, "Is anyone else in your household?" Yin said, "Just me." The man seemed about to say something more, but Yin asked, "It would be inappropriate for someone to see us at the door. Please go back, sir." Jin Kuang, hearing that no one was home, became bolder and said, "How could I go when I have such a rare opportunity to meet Your Highness? It's inappropriate outside. Let's talk inside." He stepped inside, and Yin turned and walked away, [to be said, leading the way]. He turned and bolted the door, then followed him in. Madam Yin feigned anger, saying, "Though we are a humble family, we have a proper inner and outer quarters. What brings you in, sir?" He stepped forward and embraced her, saying, "My mother from a past life, you've bewitched me these past two days. Have you come to fulfill your promise?" Madam Yin deliberately feigned anger, saying, "Raping a respectable woman in broad daylight! Don't you think you're some noble young master? If I get angry, I'll be something else! Let go!" Seeing that his words were sharp but his intentions not so harsh, Jin Kuang knelt down, saying, "If you don't have pity on me, I will surely die of grief. But if Your Majesty takes pity on me, I will not dare to mistreat you. I can provide for your entire family's food, clothing, and living expenses." "When Yin fell in love with him, she saw that his words struck a chord with her, and said, 'Seeing how affectionate you are, I will agree to your terms, but you must not betray me later.' Seeing that he agreed, Jin Kuang quickly swore, 'If I betray you, may I be struck down by heaven and earth.'

Yin reached out to help him up, and he embraced her waist with both hands, leading her to the bed inside the house. He first helped Yin take off her trousers, looked at them, touched them, and exclaimed, 'What a treasure!' Then he helped her take off her shirt, and Yin said, 'It's broad daylight, so wear it.' He said, 'No one will be coming to your house, it's no fun to be all dressed up like this.' Yin had no choice but to let him undress her, and then he undressed himself. Yin saw that his penis was no more than a circumference in circumference but about seven inches long, and she inserted it. He praised, 'What a fine thing!' He said to Yin, 'I've seen many women, but I've never seen such a tight and dry beauty as yours.' Yin smiled but did not reply." It turned out that Jin Kuang was extremely adept at handling challenges. His penis was long and incredibly flexible, probing and thrusting in and out of the woman's vagina with meticulous care. Any woman who encountered him experienced endless pleasure. Seeing his skillful technique, Yin Shi secretly rejoiced, thinking, "He's the best I've ever met." She and Ying Yang had been estranged for a long time, and it wasn't long before they lost their virginity. The gold miner, eager to show off his skills, continued for over a thousand minutes without stopping. Yin, a man long deprived of pleasure, saw his erect penis and vigorous movements, and, wanting more, refused to restrain him, letting him do as he pleased. After three rounds of this, Yin, intending to rest before continuing, said, "Take a break." The gold miner, with a sly smile, said, "We haven't even played half the game, and you want to rest? I'll only rest when you beg for mercy." Yin laughed, "Really?" He replied, "Of course I do." Yin laughed, "I won't beg for mercy, but you won't?" The gold miner laughed, "If you want me to beg for mercy, you'll have to add some steel to your thing." Yin laughed again, "You have to keep your word." As she spoke, she tightened her grip on his thighs with both hands. Jin Kuang felt that the glans was no longer as free as before, and it was tight again, unable to move. When he poked it on one side, it would clamp down, like someone sucking on it. When he poked it on the other side, it was just as pleasurable. Before he could finish a cup of tea, he ejaculated in a torrent. He hugged Yin Shi tightly and said, "Darling, you have such a treasure. What a blessing I have to meet you. I can't wait to have you with me." Yin Shi laughed and said, "You still dare to come?" He said, "Relax, and I can give you a good punch." Yin Shi let go and said, "Come on." Sure enough, the young man Jin Kuang was strong and vigorous. Although he had ejaculated, his penis was still hard as iron. He poked and thrust wildly as before. Yin Shi hugged him tightly and locked him in place. He couldn't help but ejaculate again. Yin laughed, "A doctor who talks a good game has no good medicine, do you still dare?" Jin Kuang kissed her on the lips and said, "Sweetheart, I know your skills now, I beg for mercy." Yin hugged her tightly and said, "I'll make you lose it three times before I stop." Jin Kuang said, "As for another time, I haven't had the chance yet. There are many days ahead, I have something to discuss with you." Hearing this, Yin let go and asked, "Is your husband coming back tonight?" Yin said, "No." He said, "That's even better, shall I stay here tonight?" Yin said, "You are a noble person, my house doesn't have a good bed for you to sleep on." He laughed and hugged her, saying, "Can you find such a good mattress in the world?" He added, "I'll go home now and have the servants bring some wine and food, we can talk tonight." Then he got up. After wiping themselves clean, they dressed. He took out a pouch from his chest and said, "This is ten taels of silver. Keep it for your travel expenses." Madam Yin took it, secretly pleased, "He's quite generous." He said, "I'll be right back." Madam Yin saw him to the gate, and after watching him leave, she left the door ajar, came in, and sat down, secretly smiling, "Heaven never seals off all paths. To have such a capable man is already a blessing, especially since he's so affectionate. If he can look after me often, it will be a stroke of good fortune." She also thought and smiled, "With his skills, if it weren't for me, other women would really have to give up."

Knowing that he would be staying overnight, she boiled some water, washed her vulva clean, dusted the bed, and took out a new pillow. [Yes, she's newly married; otherwise, how could she have such a cheap item in the house?] Just as she finished tidying up, she heard a knock at the door. Just as she was about to go and see what was going on, two young men came in, carrying a food box with a jar of Huiquan wine on top, and another young man carrying a large bundle. He came in and said with a smile, "Put everything down." He lifted the lid, revealing twelve fruit platters, six large bowls of vegetables, and a pair of all-night candles, which he placed on the table. He instructed, "Two of you take the food box back; this one stays here to serve." The two boys left, and he told this one to close the door. [The choice to have this boy close the door is brilliant. The detail is impeccable; otherwise, with the boys nearby, how could the two be joking around? Would a careless person notice?] He smiled at Madam Yin and said, "This is the wedding feast. It's busy, please don't find it inconvenient." Pointing to the candles, he said, "These are the wedding candles, no need for flowers." He opened the bundle, revealing a fine brocade quilt, a shimmering satin mattress, and four bolts of colored silk. Pointing to a red and a green piece, he said, "These two are for you to wear as undershirts and trousers." Madam Yin said, "Thank you for your kindness, but I'll keep them as bedding." He smiled and pointed to her vulva and nipples, saying, "I was afraid the fabric would wear out these two treasures, so I brought them for you to wear. If you want bedding, I can easily make you another one." Madam Yin smiled and spread out the quilts to make the bed. He immediately saw the pillow and laughed, "Alright, alright, I'll take one. It's not easy to take, it's easy to take." "It's too much trouble to pack the straw later, who knew you'd prepared it first." He hugged her and kissed her, saying, "People say husband and wife are of one mind, and that's absolutely true." He then laughed and said, "The pillow is supposed to be prepared by the bride's family." She said, "I forgot one more thing." He took off his headscarf and pulled out a gold bean-shaped hairpin and a gold ruyi, placing them on her head and laughing, "Others put on their hairpins before getting married, but I put them on after we were married." Yin Shi laughed and said, "That's too much, how can I accept that?" He cupped Yin Shi's face and said, "Darling, do I still need to say such polite things to you?" Yin Shi was also very grateful to him, and hugged him back, quickly sticking her tongue into his mouth, and they kissed each other for a while. Jin Kuang called the young man over and said [after the teasing, he called the young man, cleverly]: "Go heat up the dishes and cook rice for us to eat." Yin Shi said, "Wait for me, he wouldn't know how." Jin Kuang refused, and Yin Shi said, "He's just a child, how could he know how to do that? I'll go and look after him." Jin Kuang also went to the kitchen to help, scooping water, adding firewood, and fetching this and that. Yin Shi said, "You are a noble person, I dare not trouble you, please sit down." He said, "With you here, how can I bear to sit down?" Yin Shi was secretly pleased, thinking: He is quite a sentimental person, I hope it lasts. After tidying up, the two of them went to the room hand in hand and sat down. The young man poured wine and served dishes, which need not be described in detail.

As evening fell, two candles were lit. Seeing his deep affection, Yin wanted to win him over. She sang a couple of songs to accompany the wine, her voice melodious. Jin Kuang was so happy he couldn't speak, only exclaiming, "What a treasure! What a treasure!" She instructed him, "You must find a way to make this a lasting friendship." After drinking for a while, Jin Kuang's enthusiasm returned, and he asked to leave so he could sleep. Yin told the boy to sleep in the west kitchen room. The two undressed and went to bed. That night, their passion was boundless.

The next morning, after washing and dressing, he asked Yin, "When will I be back?" Yin replied, "I am so grateful for your kindness that I wish we could meet and talk all the time, but this matter cannot be kept from my husband." She then told him that her husband was ill and could not endure hardship, so she was sacrificing herself to support him. She added, "I never expected to meet such a kind and righteous person as you. Send this little boy to fetch me this afternoon." When Jin Kuang heard that she was sacrificing herself to support her husband, he said sadly, "You have such a kind heart, it's truly rare. Explain it to your husband, and I am willing to support you both until you grow old." Then he took the boy and left.

When it was time for dinner, Yingyang returned, and Yin greeted him, saying, "You're home early today." Yingyang sighed, then laughed, "I'm destined to starve to death." Yin asked, "What's the reason?" Yingyang replied, "Today, after I received my share of the money and silver, they deducted one portion of my wages. I've worked hard for several days, and my back is aching. I haven't been able to go home several times, but I have to go tomorrow. Isn't this a death sentence?" Yin said, "Don't worry, sit down and we can discuss it further." As soon as Yingyang entered the room and saw the bedding on the bed, he was greatly shocked. [This book is flawless. The first line, "Yin greeted me," means that Yin led him into the main room to speak with him. Otherwise, if Yingyang had entered the room immediately, he would have seen it and wouldn't have had time for conversation. Such details could only be found by the author's meticulousness, and only by my keen observation could I have noticed them.] "Is this yours?" Yin smiled and showed him the silk, silver, and hairpin. Ying Yang said, "This is strange. Where did it come from?" Yin smiled and said, "You usually sing a play all night and only earn a few coins. I only performed one play [day and night count as two plays] and got these things." Ying Yang's expression changed and he said, "Oh, right, you see that my family is struggling, so you dare to have arranged this marriage with Cui Shi, who forced you to marry?" [He couldn't help but suspect this.] Yin smiled and said, [Even if a woman commits adultery and knows it's shameless, she still feels ashamed in front of her husband. Now, Yin smiled at Ying Yang several times, saying that although she had an affair, her heart was truly to support her husband, so she had no shame in her heart, unlike other adulterers.] "You're so foolish! We're such a loving couple, how can you say such a thing? I conspired to meet you by chance in the wilderness." Seeing that his wife wasn't trying to abandon him, Ying Yang also suspected that she was going astray. He thought, "If he wanted to do something bad, why would he tell me?" So he asked seriously, "Don't talk nonsense, what's the real reason?" Yin Shi grabbed his hand and burst into tears. She told him how she saw him sick and suffering in vain, earning little money that wasn't enough to live on, and how she feared that if he collapsed, they would both starve to death. So she risked her life to save him. He then recounted how he met Young Master Jin, how he had stayed overnight, how he had given him so many things, and how he had promised to support the couple. He added, "You don't need to go to class anymore; take care of your health. Brother, I'm truly doing this for you. Don't suspect me of adultery and use these nice words to deceive you. If I were only after my own pleasure, with you often away from home, wouldn't I be keeping it a secret from you? Would I tell you?" Ying Yang, who was initially indignant, nodded thoughtfully upon hearing this, saying, "Indeed, if he were keeping it a secret from me, where would he go?" "Checking the accounts, I really can't move, I have nothing to eat or wear, there's nothing I can do." He then said, "Since you're so kind, let it be. Will he still come?" Madam Yin said, "He sent his son to ask for news at noon." Yingyang said, "Things have come to this point, there's no going back. If he wants to come, I'll go out and let him. You tell him, but when he comes, send someone to let him know first, otherwise it'll be awkward if the two meet." [When a woman commits adultery and a man becomes a cuckold, at the beginning of the affair, there is no one without shame, but after a while, they become oblivious. Just look at Yingyang's words at this moment, and later his farewell to the gold mine, and you can understand this.] Madam Yin heated up the leftover food and wine from last night for him to eat. Before leaving, Madam Yin instructed, "Brother, come back early tomorrow. Say goodbye to your friends in their class today." Yingyang agreed and left.

In the afternoon, the Jin family's son came to ask for news. Madam Yin summoned Jin Kuang and told him what her husband had said. Jin Kuang was overjoyed and stayed the night. The next day, he returned home, bringing several bolts of cloth to make clothes for her, along with several loads of white rice and a lot of firewood and charcoal, which Madam Yin accepted. She also gave him the bowls and dishes from the previous day. [Details omitted]. After this, Jin Kuang frequently visited, but further details are unnecessary. Several months later, Madam Yin became pregnant, and the two grew even closer. Over half a year, Madam Yin received over a hundred taels of gold from him, along with many clothes and jewelry. The neighbors gradually noticed, and some gossipy people began to spread rumors and sing: "

Madam Yin is so flirtatious, she married a man and then picked up a trough. The Jin family's son came to entangle her, turning a small official into a big old turtle."

Within days, the song spread throughout the streets and alleys. Those students who had previously been on good terms with the Yin family heard it and were indignant. They gathered together and discussed, "The Yin family's daughter was on good terms with us for several years. It's fine that she married into the Ying family, but since she's keeping a lover, she's abandoning us old flames and going off to be with someone else's new lover. How can we live with this? Let's all take her down and cut off her path to happiness." Guan Er, who had grown into a big man, was the most resentful of them all. He spread rumors in the houses around Yingyang and gathered a few thugs to keep stomping on them, thus separating the two sides. Yingyang, aware of the gossip circulating in the streets, said to Yin, "In this situation, we can't stay here any longer. I've been recuperating for over half a year, and I feel better than before. I'm not old, and I can still join the troupe. Nanjing is a great place; my wife and I will go there together. You're young and know many songs; if we meet a good official, we're not afraid of making a fortune from him." He laughed as he spoke, and Yin smiled too. Suddenly, she said sadly, "Master Jin's kindness has been so kind; it's hard to leave him today." Yingyang said, "Those rogues outside are keeping a close watch on him; he can't come anymore. If we keep it from him, we're heartless. Prepare a meal, and I'll go to the magistrate to invite him over to thank him properly and say goodbye." Yin had no choice but to agree. Yingyang sold the house first, and with the money he had received from the gold mine, he had enough for the expenses of the past six months, plus another hundred taels of silver. He calculated that it was enough for the travel expenses and to settle down there. He left all his belongings with his wife's family. Old Yin, having heard of his daughter's actions, didn't want to keep her. After Ying Yang finished his business, he prepared food and wine at home and personally went to invite Jin Kuang.

Jin Kuang hadn't seen Yin Shi for over a month and missed her dearly. Seeing her husband come to invite her, he arrived in a sedan chair with several servants. Ying Yang let them in. Because her husband was present, Jin Kuang didn't engage in much small talk. When wine was served, the couple poured themselves a full cup and offered it to each other. Jin Kuang accepted, and they both knelt down. Jin Kuang quickly said, "Please rise, we accept this." Ying Yang said, "My wife and I have always been grateful for your kindness and care, but recently the neighbors have been saying bad things about us, and we can no longer stay here. We must go to Nanjing. We have prepared a cup of wine to thank you and to say goodbye. Please accept this cup." Upon hearing that he was leaving, Jin Kuang was stunned, his eyes fixed on Yin Shi. He saw tears streaming down Yin Shi's face, but she remained silent. Jin Kuang couldn't help but shed tears, some of which dripped into his cup. [This pair of lovers, so different from other adulterers and lustful people, are worlds apart.] He quickly wiped his eyes, downed his drink in one gulp, and said, "Please rise, you and your wife." The two kowtowed and got up. Jin Kuang had them sit down beside him and asked, "Do you have enough for the journey?" Yin Shi replied, "Thanks to your help, we still have some. Yesterday, we sold the house for another twenty or thirty taels." He then asked, "When will you be leaving?" Ying Yang said, "We've already hired a boat and will depart early the day after tomorrow." Jin Kuang said, "I'll have someone send some money when I get home so you can buy some snacks." The couple said, "We are so grateful to you, sir, we dare not accept such kindness." He offered them wine, but they said, "Our hearts are broken; we can't drink a drop. Please leave and let's talk." Seeing that they didn't want to drink, Ying Yang led them to another room to eat with their family, making room for the two to say goodbye. Seeing her husband leave, Yin hurriedly closed the door, grabbed Jin Kuang, and cried softly, "Don't blame me for being heartless. Even if I were here, you couldn't come. Let's go for a few years, and perhaps we'll meet again. Don't be angry with me." Jin Kuang embraced her and cried too, "I only hate these servants for ruining our good time. How could I blame you? I've been separated from you for so many days, and I have so much to say, but I can't utter a single word now." [Those who are truly moved cannot understand the meaning of these words.] The two went to bed for a farewell, but the sorrow outweighed the joy, and they couldn't stop there. Reluctantly, they had to part. Jin Kuang got into his sedan chair in a distressed state, and Yin closed the door behind them. It was truly a scene of

tearful eyes meeting tearful eyes, a heartbroken person seeing off another heartbroken person.

The next morning, Jin Kuang sent his servant with ten taels of silver for travel expenses, two Jinhua hams, ten Songmen whitefish, and two bottles of pickled vegetables. He also gave Yin eight taels of silver, which the couple accepted with profuse thanks. The couple then went to the wife's mother's house to say goodbye. They parted with great sorrow, then went home to pack their bags and set sail the next morning. They remained silent throughout the journey.

Upon arriving in Nanjing, they settled in a shop, seeking a powerful local official to serve under. They learned that Ruan Dacheng was a great admirer of female impersonators, so they sent him a gift from Suzhou and became his protégé. They rented two rooms near Ruan's house, and three or four months later, Yin gave birth to a daughter. Because her skin was as white as jade, she was nicknamed Jiaojiao. [An ancient poem says: "Jiaojiao, the girl of the Milky Way." This name Jiaojiao refers to the daughter of Yingyang and Jin Kuang, though the man's identity is unknown.]

After a year of idleness, their savings dwindled, forcing Yingyang to join a Suzhou opera troupe. Nanjing had many more troupes, and business was even more limited, making it difficult to earn money. The couple discussed it, and Yin joined a troupe as a supporting actress. He didn't perform the main acts, only doing odd jobs. Because he was handsome, sang even better, was both charming and seductive, and possessed an astonishing skill: he could perform acts specifically for these young masters, wealthy men, and high-ranking officials. His skill was truly captivating, earning him the nickname "Flying Across the Bed." [A "Flying Across the Bed" dance might be comparable. "Flying"—how exactly does it work?] Ying Yang no longer performed, only leading Jiao Jiao or other members of the troupe to help with odd jobs.

Ruan Dacheng was deeply infatuated with Yin Shi, not caring much about the beauty he had dwelt on, but unwilling to give her even a penny. He felt guilty about this, and although he was of questionable character, he had some talent and many acquaintances who promoted him widely, speaking highly of him to everyone they met. So, within a few years, he had earned over two thousand taels of silver. He became a nouveau riche among the actors, possessing some dignity, and thus refused to continue his two old businesses. He bought a small house for a hundred taels of silver. It was a tiny house, with three main rooms in the front yard: a main hall, an east room set up as a guest room, a west room as a bedroom, and a kitchen in the back yard, all kept impeccably clean.

He adopted the role of a refined guest, with pipa strings, sheng, xiao, and flutes hanging all over the walls. The walls were covered with many Su Shi calligraphy scrolls, and the tables were decorated with Suzhou-style incense burners, Yixing teapots, Jian kiln vases holding flowers, and Xuan paper plates holding citron, Buddha's hand, papaya, and the like. Although these were not particularly valuable trinkets, it was still lively and half-refined and half-vulgar.

As an actor, he was used to this place's tea and food, but he didn't know how to do other business. Fearing that his fortune would collapse, he devised a clever plan: he invited the young masters and wealthy men who had always been close to him, some of whom were gamblers, to gamble at his house, while he acted as the host.

The woman surnamed Yin was skilled at preparing exquisite dishes, especially fine Suzhou cuisine, to entertain her guests. The meals were lavish, and she often joined in the fun. Those who had frequented her brothels, even behind her husband's back, would still playfully kiss and grope her. Some of her closer confidantes would offer only verbal cues, not physical intimacy, which fueled their lust and kept them constantly visiting, keeping them quite entertained. After deducting daily expenses, she had some money left over from her annual income. Since there was no one to buy necessities for her family, she asked the son of the neighbor surnamed Long, named Long Yang, to come and live with her, adopting him as her godson and often helping him with clothing and travel expenses. The servant's parents were poor and doted on their son, so they relied on his help. This boy not only hoped to earn money by buying necessities for his family but also to eat well every day. He even slept in the kitchen at night and rarely returned home.

After a few years, his daughter, Jiaojiao, had unknowingly grown to fifteen. She was dressed like a flower, with long, flowing hair, small bound feet, a fair face, and bright red lips. [The same two lines praise Yin Shi, making them seem like mother and daughter.] She was incredibly beautiful.

What was so unknown about daughters of actors? Besides, when she was young, her mother often engaged in intimate conversations, which she occasionally noticed. Now that she was older, she gradually became aware that her parents' bed was in front, and she had her own small bed, arranged in a T-shape, behind it. Her parents' bed was outside, facing the light from the south window. She was in the darkness, not far away, and both beds were covered with summer linen curtains. Although her parents couldn't see her, she could see everything clearly. Every movement, every tug and sway, was perfectly clear, and she could even hear the sounds of their joy. His parents, fearing their daughter would hear, naturally tried to restrain themselves. Little did they know that in the throes of passion, the man's panting and the woman's moans would unknowingly be revealed, while the girl heard and saw everything without them realizing it. Then came the surging, pounding sounds below, which they could no longer suppress. Jiaojiao, though unaware of the cause of these sounds, found them unbearable, and some clear fluid flowed from her untouched vulva. He then understood something. Consider this: such a clever girl, fifteen years old, with her heart fully awakened, how could anyone not be tempted? At night, or when he heard them for a moment, he felt unbearable pain, and he would even use his finger to probe and dig inside her vulva, finding nothing particularly pleasant. He secretly devised a plan, intending to act on it.

His parents, having some money and concerned about their reputation, kept a strict watchful eye. At twelve, his mother forbade him to see anyone. [Amazing, recalling that he himself was seduced by all at twelve.] But when people came to his house to gamble, they all stayed in the east room, while he kept the door closed in the west room. Although people knew he had a daughter, they couldn't see her. Because she couldn't see anyone, Jiaojiao could only peek out the window from time to time. To go further back, there was a small door at the back of his house that led to the main room, so she didn't even need to go through it. Jiaojiao had long taken a liking to this young man from the Long family and wanted to temporarily become his wife, [strange and unrealistic thoughts]. To avoid the loneliness of being a widow, she couldn't find a suitable place to do so. She often glanced at the young man, made faces, and acted in a flirtatious manner.

The young man had been tricked into being a homosexual when he was thirteen or fourteen, and now that he was seventeen or eighteen, he knew all too well. He also wanted to take advantage of this woman, but he was afraid that her parents would find out and abandon this fat customer. Not only would he not get to taste the clam meat, but he would also lose all the leftovers, chicken and duck feet, fish heads and scraps of meat. What a pity! Secondly, being young and timid, he dared not act, fearing what would happen if he changed his mind and cried out. As fate would have it, one day, no one came to gamble at his house; his father was out, and his mother, having nothing to do, was taking a nap in her room. Jiaojiao happened to stroll into the backyard, perhaps unintentionally [a thought that reveals his true intentions, this was the idea he had previously conceived, acting on the opportune moment]. Seeing the boy urinating with his face turned away, he clearly knew, but was only interested in seeing the shape of the diamond, pretending not to notice. He quickly went up to him, put his hand on his shoulder, and said with a smile, "Brother Long, what are you doing?" The boy turned around, saw it was him, and, still urinating, had no choice but to grab him, grinning as he pressed his mouth against Jiaojiao's tender face, saying, "Guess." Jiaojiao laughed, "What are you holding? Let me see, what is it?" [Extremely lewd and obscene.] This lad was quick-witted. Seeing him rowing from the shore to the boat, he figured there was still a reason for him to refuse. So he let go of his hand, pinched two fingers together, and said to him, "Look at this living treasure." Because he hadn't finished urinating, his bladder was quite hard, and he urinated again with a throbbing motion. Jiaojiao chuckled and said, "How delightful! I've wasted fifteen years, and today I finally get to examine this thing closely." "What an ugly thing! Bald head, purple and black, so ugly." The lad said, "Mine is ugly, yours must be good-looking. I've shown you yours, so let me see yours too." He grabbed him and reached out to pull down his pants. Jiaojiao pretended to resist, saying, "I'll shout! My lady will see!" She only said it, but didn't push him away or move her feet. The boy knew his father wasn't home and his mother was asleep, so he ignored him, pulled down his pants, and reached down, touching something smooth and tender, plump, with a thin slit on top. Looking down, he was instantly captivated. A poem, "The Nightingale," praised it: "

Two fleshy lotus pods, a small flower heart emerges from the slit, smooth and sparkling, shaped like a clam. Rare treasures are easy to find, famous flowers are easy to find, but this opening is truly unattainable. Plump and fluffy, wanting to taste its exotic flavor, one must enter." In

his eagerness, he embraced her and kissed her twice, saying, "Darling, if you don't mind, let's try it on my bed in the kitchen?" [Going to the kitchen, one to taste clams, the other to taste tuna, is the perfect place.] Jiaojiao said, "No, what if the Empress wakes up? Let's wait until night, I'll leave the back door ajar, and when Father and Mother are asleep, I'll open the door and let you in." The two made a promise, kissed and smacked their lips for a while, then parted ways.

As expected, Jiaojiao quietly lured him into the room at night and began to have sex with him. Firstly, his penis was quite small, and secondly, although Jiaojiao had never had sex with him before, she often touched and prodded it, so it wasn't pristine anymore. Although he felt a slight pain, he was afraid of waking his parents, so he had to endure it. Afterwards, he quietly left. Having enjoyed this pleasure, the two men would steal from him whenever they had the chance, but they were always on edge and could no longer enjoy themselves freely. They secretly discussed, "Doing this at night is like being a thief; our hearts are always on edge, and there's no fun at all. If our parents find out, it will be terrible. From now on, when someone comes home asking for money, when Father is always busy serving, and when Mother is preparing food and drink in the kitchen, you can sneak into the room and have fun without worry." They agreed that if someone came to gamble at night, they would lure the boy into the room, open the door, and then they could have sex without worry. If his mother knocked on the door, he would deliberately delay, pretending to be awake, and only open the door after a long while. The boy would have already quietly opened the front door and gone for quite some time. He stole many times, so there's no need to go into details. [This book describes the sins of women's promiscuity, with varying degrees of retribution. In these two chapters, Yin's promiscuity was initially due to the students' seduction, but later, because Yingyang was ill, she sacrificed herself to care for her husband, so her sin was forgivable, and she was never truly harmed by promiscuity. As for Jiaojiao, it was he who first seduced Longyang, plotting their secret union; all of this originated from him. Later, she also had an affair with Wu, and escaped with Liaoyuan, thus suffering severe injuries and nearly dying.]

A year later, Yingyang, seeing that his daughter had grown up, asked a matchmaker to find her a husband. Because he had some money, he forgot his background as an actor, and more than just an actor, and set a grand topic. [Although the topic was grand, the subsequent writing turned out to be a trivial piece, and he was paired with a sycophant.] He said, “Those I associate with now are all wealthy young men, [this is a self-serving remark, they are your close friends, not yours]. They are respectable people. How can a commoner become in-laws? They must be from official families or scholarly families, and their wealth must be substantial. Only then can we discuss marriage.” Do you think the sons of respectable families would be willing to be his son-in-law? When poor families come to him, he refuses because of his status. And so it went, another year or so passed, and Jiao Jiao was now eighteen. His mother was suddenly startled to see his large chest and belly. She closed the door, pulled him to the bed, untied his chest, and felt around. She pulled open his waistband, and saw two large, round breasts protruding out, [a humorous remark]. This startled Madam Yin. She stroked his belly, and milk gushed out. She touched his belly, and it was already swollen and sagging; he was about to give birth to a grandson. [Even more humorous.] In her haste, Lady Yin pinched him several times, asking him the reason. He, instead of responding, cried out, "You ask me, do I know?" [A brilliant answer. The Chu people say, "King Zhao went on a southern expedition and never returned; you should ask him by the water's edge." A very clean excuse. Now, Jiao Jiao says, "Do I know?" Meaning, you can ask Yin about the child in your belly, why ask me? It's the same idea.] Lady Yin angrily said, "Shameless little slut, you still dare to talk back! Don't you know where that 'salt packet' in your belly comes from?" Pressed relentlessly, he finally confessed. Lady Yin then learned that her daughter was carrying the child of the Long family boy. Enraged, she realized she couldn't hide it and had to tell her husband.

Ying Yang, firstly, feared the scandal and embarrassment, and secondly, worried that his daughter would have difficulty finding a husband. He swallowed his anger and, finding an excuse, properly dismissed Long Yang. He hurriedly bought two doses of abortifacient medicine for his daughter, but the bastard child was much stronger than the family child and refused to be expelled easily. Helpless, after her period was over and she had a couple of bouts of labor pains, she gave birth to a healthy, chubby son. While most wives endure a difficult childbirth, this baby's birth was remarkably smooth. Yin hurriedly placed the infant in a clean tub, covered it, and secretly buried him with her husband in the backyard. They claimed their daughter was ill and stayed in bed for a month before finally getting up.

This time, seeing his daughter's elaborate scheme, Yingyang knew he couldn't delay any longer. He sent the matchmaker again, hoping to find a slightly more refined family with enough to eat. He didn't haggle over dowry, offering a generous reward if the marriage was successful. Coincidentally, Wu He had also asked a matchmaker to find him a wife, and the matchmaker mentioned him. Yingyang often visited wealthy families and had met him before. He seemed decent-looking, young, and without even a hint of aging, so he readily agreed. The matchmaker told Wu He that he was a hanger-on, not much more noble than an actor, and didn't care about such things. Seeing that there was no dispute over dowry and that he was willing to accept the marriage proposal, he was overjoyed and readily agreed to the dowry and a wedding date was chosen.

His family lived in a quiet, dead-end alley, surrounded by only three or five other houses, mostly small business owners. They had a separate courtyard with two rooms, one divided in two: the front half for guests, the back half for the kitchen, with a small door leading to a small courtyard for servants, and the other half serving as the bedroom. Even hangers-on would perfume their clothes and hats, so the room, though not luxurious, was spotless. Ying Yang, suffering from a heart ailment, had a well-dressed daughter; the bed, curtains, and chests were all provided, and being an only daughter, she also had a considerable amount of clothing and jewelry. Wu He was overjoyed and married Ying Yang. Her father-in-law was from out of town, with few relatives, and he himself had few friends or family, so he remained indifferent.

This Ying woman was deeply in love with Long Xiaoguan when her mother discovered their affair and separated them. Like a child weaned, she was heartbroken. Helpless, she swallowed her bitterness. Now, hearing of the marriage, she was overjoyed, hoping for a passionate encounter that very night at his house. She had also heard from the matchmaker that the groom was in his thirties, naturally much more robust and skilled than the twenty-something Long family boy, and she could try something new to broaden her horizons and open her heart.

Unexpectedly, when night fell, the groom was very sincere, simply loosening her clothes and letting her lie down. When she was about to undress and take off her trousers, she was expected to feign some bridal mannerisms, but the groom didn't make a move. He undressed and went to sleep himself, seemingly hesitant, thinking he had worked hard that day and would surely recharge before launching into a full-blown battle. She worried that she might not be able to withstand the enemy and be laughed at by the groom, and she felt a bit timid. But by midnight, the groom, who had read extensively in the history of the Wei dynasty, learned the border defense methods of Yang Hu and Lu Kai, each guarding their own territory. He not only didn't engage in battle, but also didn't answer her. She was so anxious that her eyes, ears, nose, and mouth were burning with desire, almost like a burning Zoroastrian temple. Her lower body was overflowing with fluid, and fearing she would wet her new trousers, she tried desperately to clench her fists. But the tighter she clenched, the more fluid leaked out, like the Yellow River bursting its banks, impossible to stop. [From the moment he married Ying Shi into the household until now, not a single word or phrase has been anything but laughable. I can't praise him, I can only slap the table in amazement and laugh heartily.] She didn't close her eyes all night, and being a newcomer, she didn't dare ask him anything. The same thing happened the following night. No one knew what the dark gourd was up to; they couldn't figure it out. Several days later, forgetting their shame, they questioned him. He only let out a long sigh, tears streaming down his face. What was the reason? It turned out that Wu He was a castrated man, without a penis. A song, "The Nightingale," was given to him: "

This thing is too strange, though male in body, it is female; there is no lustful organ in the waist; the scrotum is too prominent, the jade stem too small; I resent my parents for not spending more money; don't be surprised, it's a castrated man, with only two navels."

Like a eunuch, he had no intention of marrying, so he remained single until his thirties. For years, he had been engaged in this idle business, requiring no capital, only needing to flatter and fawn over high-ranking officials to gain their favor. Not only did he have food and clothing, but he also amassed considerable wealth. Having acquired this small fortune, he was left unattended all day, with no relatives to rely on. He was also hesitant to entrust someone with companionship, so he sought a wife, initially intending it as a companionship in his spiritual practice. Ideally, he would find a woman who was unmarried and of stone, a match made in heaven. [How could a naturally stone woman not be a perfect match for a naturally eunuch? It's just a matter of chance.] Such a coincidence was impossible. Even an older widow would do. He was a man who had tasted pleasure, and perhaps he wasn't interested in this path, [or perhaps not.] Even a woman in her forties or fifties who was willing would only seek the title of husband and wife, not children, just someone to look after the household. Or perhaps she was a daughter from a poor family, destitute and lacking food and clothing at home. Marrying her meant spending money to provide her with good clothes and food. She hadn't yet experienced such hardship, and like an old daughter at home, perhaps they could live peacefully together. Initially, these were just a few ideas, all discussed with the matchmaker. Unexpectedly, the matchmaker only cared about getting the two families married so both could demand payment, regardless of the couple's well-being. So, she ended up with this "rare find," a seasoned woman who had even raised children. ["Rare find" is a derogatory term.] He had initially only considered her the daughter of an actress, a mere compromise, but who knew she would be so beautiful and charming? Upon seeing her, he felt a pang of regret, secretly stamping his feet: "This brand-new, fashionable green headscarf is probably unavoidable," he thought, "but there's no reason to send more back, and I can't reveal my background beforehand." Now, seeing Ying ask him, could he hide it? He forced a smile and had no choice but to tell her everything, fully believing that since she was a girl, she might not be skilled in such matters. Little did he know that this Ying woman was like a gluttonous man who had been starving for a long time. He thought he had come to have a full meal, but instead, his food and drink were cut off again. [A wonderful metaphor.] Can you imagine how distressing that was? Hearing this, he couldn't speak out loud, and secretly wept for two or three days. Wu He knew he was wrong; he was a master of flattery and treated people with utmost tenderness and affection. Although Ying woman couldn't eat eel, she enjoyed fatty chicken, cured meat, fine wine, and delicacies every day. Moreover, the bucket had already fallen into the well, and there was nothing he could do. Seeing how attentively Wu He flattered her, he even emptied the chamber pot for her. As a Suzhou native, she loved cleanliness and insisted on washing her lower body every night before going to bed. As soon as it got dark, Wu He would fetch a basin of water, and as soon as she took off her trousers and squatted down, he would quickly wash her clean, gently wiping her with an old handkerchief, afraid of hurting her by rubbing too hard. Occasionally, when it was cold and Ying needed to urinate at night, he would hurriedly sit on the chamber pot, waiting until it was warm, before helping her out of bed. He would also pat her under her vest to prevent her from catching a chill, and only after she finished urinating would he help her back into bed. [A student of Xun Fengqing.] As for sweeping, making beds, cooking, and brewing tea during the day, he treated her like a living bodhisattva, unless he was away on business. Seeing his thoughtfulness and compassion, Ying reciprocated with some kindness. After a few days, her temper returned, and she became much happier, living a loving and harmonious life, much to Wu He's delight. Others saw them as a good couple, but little did they know they were actually sworn siblings.

But let's leave that aside for now. Since their daughter's marriage, Ying Yang and his wife had been on tenterhooks. He had already planned his strategy: if their son-in-law found their daughter to be a broken vessel, and any quarrels arose, he would pay him two hundred taels of silver to settle things amicably. Unexpectedly, their daughter was married off, and her son-in-law was so refined and gentle that he didn't utter a single word. The couple was overjoyed, but they couldn't figure out what was going on. Yin said, "Perhaps the son-in-law's penis is excessively large, and he doesn't realize that our daughter is already impotent." Ying said, "Everyone knows their own flaws. Perhaps our daughter is clever and good at concealing it, so she hasn't given herself away. Or perhaps, although the son-in-law is old, he is inexperienced in this area and has been deceived." They never imagined that this seemingly perfect son-in-law, though a man, was as impotent as their daughter, and had never been able to test him.

Meanwhile, the young man from the Long family, after leaving the Ying family, knew that Jiao Jiao had revealed his weakness and kicked him out, but he dared not speak out in anger. He had been delusional, thinking that since his daughter was pregnant with his child, he could find out, but fearing the shame, he might even marry her. He stayed home every day, waiting for news and preparing to become a pampered guest in her household. Unexpectedly, after some time, she married into the Wu family. How could she possibly vent her pent-up resentment? She was truly filled with shame and anger.

When this boy was thirteen or fourteen, he had studied under Master You, who came from a former official's family and ran a small private school. That unscrupulous man, liking the boy's clean appearance, didn't beat him for his poor recitation or writing skills, but secretly gave him money to buy fruit. After feeding him well, he even opened a large road for his once-complete backyard. Later, some university students found out and told his parents, leading to a fight and the son being called back. Master You's school closed down. With this reputation, which parent would send their child to him? This boy had been helping out at the Ying family for several years since finishing his studies, never once visiting this beggar teacher, [whose reputation had never been heard of before]. While at the Ying family, he had good food and money every day, and for seven or eight years he had become accustomed to this lifestyle. Now back home, every meal consisted of a bowl of coarse rice, a bland and tasteless existence. My heart burned with anguish, and I longed to revive my old ways. I thought, "Though I have a few lonely old friends, none can match the kindness you showed me back then." So I visited You Hun Gong's house. You Hun Gong had been a widower for a long time and needed my help; we were old friends, so I felt even closer to him. This young man often came to his house to exchange his share for food—a practice known as exchanging what one dislikes for what one loves.

One day, I happened to meet You Hun Gong on the road. I acted coquettishly, begging him for wine and meat. You Hun Gong, being so kind to me, couldn't refuse. We went to a shop selling liver and intestines, where I had a large bowl of thick, fatty intestines stir-fried, ordered two jugs of liquor, and drank heartily. This cost You Hun Gong a hundred bronze coins. How could this wandering rogue let him go so easily after causing such a disturbance? He took him to a secluded garden and a small room, where he thoroughly ravaged his rear. [The small room was where the act was performed.] Only then did he let him return. The young man, satisfied in every way, returned home smugly. Just as he reached the gate of the Ying family's residence, several idlers from the neighborhood stood there gossiping. Seeing him staggering in, they asked, "Young Master Long, where have you been eating so much today, looking so radiant?" He leaned on his wine, slightly drunk, and replied, "Someone invited me to drink to vent my anger, so I had a few too many drinks." One of them laughed, "You rascal, you're so hot-tempered, what anger do you have to vent?" He said, "My wife was taken by someone else, how can I not be angry?" Everyone thought he was joking. Another man jokingly asked, "Your wife is still in her mother's womb, we don't even know if she's been raised yet, how could someone else have taken her?" Everyone laughed. He replied, "My wife has even raised a child, and you still say she hasn't?" Another man asked, "Where is your child?" He said, "My child was killed by my father-in-law and mother-in-law." Another man laughed and asked, "What's your father-in-law's surname? Where does he live? Why did he kill your son? What did he do to your wife?" He pointed to the Winner's house and said, "This isn't my father-in-law's house. He thought I was poor, so he married my wife off to the Wu family." An older man among them shouted, "Young man, you've had a couple of drinks and you're talking nonsense!" He said, "Father, the wine is in my belly, but the matter is in my heart. How can I talk nonsense? Does a drink go into a dog's belly? You don't know our complicated history." He adopted me as his godson when I was little, intending for me to be his son-in-law. He personally promised his daughter to me, and his daughter knew she would eventually marry me, so she had been in a relationship with me for the past three or four years. This year, she was seven or eight months pregnant, but seeing that my family was poor, she kicked me out and married her off to someone else. If you gentlemen don't believe me, ask that bastard if he dares to speak up. I have the ability to dig up his child in his backyard. If I don't have solid evidence, I'll cut my tongue out. Or else, I'll show you what his daughter looks like, and I'll make him strip her naked in front of everyone. If I say anything wrong, he can punish me however he sees fit. This heartless daughter's cunt is almost dried out by my fucking, and now she's backing out. Gentlemen, think about it, how can I not be angry?" Seeing that he spoke with such certainty, everyone felt embarrassed and dispersed with smiles. The young man also went home.

As everyone was talking, Ying Yang was about to leave when he heard a loud, boisterous conversation. He stopped and listened, and saw that it was the young man from the Long family recounting his daughter's virtuous conduct. He was furious and wanted to beat him, but fearing the boy would ramble on, and feeling embarrassed that it would involve the authorities and implicate his daughter, he swallowed his anger and returned to his room to tell Yin Shi everything. The couple discussed, "With this shameful reputation, how can we live here? How can we face anyone? We should move back to our hometown as soon as possible. We have some belongings, enough to live comfortably. As for our good-for-nothing children, let's leave them behind. If they don't change their ways and do similar shameful things again, we'll be even more disgraced. It's better to leave as soon as possible." [The author's actions—coming from home because of his wife's shameful reputation, and returning here because of his daughter's shameful reputation—are a masterful use of literary technique.]

The agreement was reached; they sold the house and all the utensils, hired a boat, and only then did they bid farewell to Ruan Dacheng. Upon arriving at Ruan Dacheng's gate, the gatekeeper let them in and then brought them out to meet the others. Yingyang saw that the main hall was decorated with flowers, a lavish feast was laid out, and many people from the opera troupe were there, playing music. Ruan Dacheng was instructing his servants to tidy up. Yingyang stepped forward and kowtowed. He reported, "I have been away from home for a long time and now I must return. I have come to bid farewell to you, sir. I have been blessed with Your Majesty's grace and protection for over a decade. I have come to express my gratitude today, and I will repay your great kindness when I have made some progress."

Ruan Dacheng had previously boasted of enjoying the beauty of the Yin family's women many times, and had often received gifts from them during festivals. Now, hearing that he was returning home, he wanted to give him travel expenses. He couldn't afford too little, and he couldn't bear to give too much. If he didn't give him anything, he would feel guilty. After hesitating for a while, he suddenly remembered something and said, "I have nothing to give you when you return home." [This last sentence is brilliant.] [The implication is clear.] You asked me about that man surnamed Nie, and I've always kept it in mind. I haven't found a reliable person to entrust this to. Today, I've asked the new Inspector Tie. He's an incorruptible and decisive man, and he's also my classmate. You're serving here, so it'll be convenient for us to talk. I'll ask him to see if he'll avenge you. If he does, it won't be in vain that you served under me. Whether he agrees or not depends on your fate.” [If Inspector Tie agrees, he'll naturally take credit; if he doesn't, it's not that I haven't done my duty, but that you lack good fortune. This perfectly illustrates the cunning and treacherous nature of a person.] Ying Yang hurriedly knelt down and kowtowed again, saying, "I have received so much kindness from you, sir. If you were to avenge me, I would never be able to repay you even if I were to be torn to pieces." Ruan Dacheng said, "Get up. This Master Tie is busy with his duties at the yamen and cannot come. I have repeatedly asked him, but he refused. He has finally agreed and should be here soon. You wait."

It turned out that this Master Tie, also known as Zhen'e, was a descendant of Tie Xuan, a loyal minister of the Jianwen Emperor. When the Prince of Yan massacred the ministers of the Jingnan Rebellion, Master Tie had a concubine who was pregnant. His wife entrusted the concubine's parents to help him escape. Later, Master Tie's two daughters were sent to the brothel, and the investigation of his family was very thorough. He and his daughters fled to Yan'an Prefecture in Shaanxi Province. [Yan'an Prefecture, wonderful, meaning that only here could they safely obtain the heir of the loyal minister of Yan'an.] Later, they had a child, and Tie Zhen'e was his direct descendant. He was honest and upright by nature, with great influence from his ancestors. He did not shy away from powerful people and was truly an iron-faced censor. His surname was Tie, and his temperament was indeed like a piece of raw iron. He had always despised Ruan Dacheng's character, so he declined the invitation. However, due to Ruan's repeated entreaties, and noting the age difference, he had no choice but to come. Upon arriving at Ruan's house, Ruan Dacheng, dressed in his official robes, came out to greet him. From afar, Ying Yang saw him in his black gauze hat and ceremonial robes, his face exuding a menacing aura that inspired fear. After exchanging greetings in the hall and taking their seats, Ruan Dacheng said, "I am deeply grateful for your presence, Elder Ruan. I am honored by your presence." The Imperial Censor replied, "I dare not refuse, but my office is very busy. I am deeply grateful for your kind invitation, Elder Ruan, and had no choice but to take time out of my busy schedule to attend." Seeing the table set for actors, he said, "I apologize in advance, but I cannot stay long. There is no need for the actors to sit here. Let us move to the study, where we can have a heart-to-heart talk." Ruan Dacheng said, "A pot of Lu wine is hardly enough to honor Elder Ruan. It has been a long time since we last met. I humbly request that you allow me to have a brief conversation to express my humble opinion." "I am honored," said the Imperial Censor Tie. "I dare not accept such kindness from you, Your Excellency. I appreciate it deeply, but we are of similar age and family, so there is no need for such formalities. You know my nature, that I dislike extravagance and value frugality. We can have a heart-to-heart talk in the study, and I can stay a little longer. If you insist on staying here, I will take my leave after three cups of wine." Ruan Dacheng knew he was a stubborn man, so he could only say, "Since you have spoken so kindly, how could I refuse? In that case, please come to the study and have a seat." He led him to the study, asked him to remove his official robes, and then sat down.

The two drank and chatted for a while. Ruan Dacheng said, "The old Censor Tie is now in Nanzhi, and these common people have been fortunate to receive your protection." Censor Tie replied, "Although I dare not claim to be a sage like Yao and Shun, I have a heart set on eliminating evil and wanting to rid the people of harm. Even in my dreams, I am not afraid of powerful families. I would risk this official post to save the people and sacrifice my life to repay the court. I will not be ashamed before my ancestors, nor will I fail in my studies. This is my long-cherished ambition." [These words, spoken to Ruan Dacheng, were like ice and charcoal.] When I resigned from the court, I had already disregarded fame and fortune. But I fear that my connections are not wide enough, and some may slip through the net, thus betraying my original intention. Ruan Dacheng seized the opportunity to say, "This is the truth. For great villains, there are clues both above and below, and they deceive and cover for each other. How can one investigate them in a short time? Take Kunshan in Suzhou Prefecture, for example." The county's notorious villain, Nie Bianbao, treated murder as a game, seized wives and children, and confiscated land. He committed countless atrocities and indulged in rampant debauchery. The people of the entire county were nearly wiped out by his cruelty. Through the reigns of many officials, he remained unscathed. This alone speaks volumes. "How does the old magistrate know so much about this?" said Inspector Tie. "The number of victims is countless," replied Ruan Dacheng. Pointing to Ying Yang, he said, "This is one of them." Inspector Tie asked, "Is this your esteemed Ji Gang?" Ruan Dacheng replied, "No, he and his wife were nearly killed. They fled here, fearing pursuit, and sought refuge under your protection. Now, more than ten years later, longing for their homeland, they wish to return. He came to say goodbye, and I happened to think of him when the old magistrate mentioned his likes and dislikes." [The person in question is not him, but his words are cleverly crafted, leaving no trace.] The Imperial Attendant asked Ying Yang, "What harm have you suffered at his hands? What evil has he committed? You must not embellish or alter your story. If it is true, this court will deliver justice." Ying Yang hurriedly stepped forward, kowtowed, and knelt to report, "I am deeply grateful for your inquiry, Your Excellency. If I dare to utter a single falsehood, I would be deceiving Heaven. My name is Ying Yang, and my ancestral home is Kunshan. I have a cousin, Min, who is quite beautiful and was betrothed to someone since childhood. Nie Bianbao's wicked servants are solely dedicated to finding handsome men and beautiful women, and fertile land for their masters." He went to inform his master, hoping for a reward, and told him about his younger cousin. The master sent someone to take her as a concubine, but the younger cousin's maternal uncle refused. Not daring to offend him, he subtly replied that she was already promised to someone else, otherwise he wouldn't dare disobey. The master sent twenty or thirty wicked servants to openly abduct her. The younger cousin's maternal uncle, along with his in-laws, filed a complaint in the county court. The master forged a document stating that the younger cousin's maternal uncle had sold his daughter, bought a guarantor, and accused him of colluding with a rogue to falsely accuse him of fraud. He was severely punished and imprisoned. As for the younger cousin's suffering, it was a shameful matter, and he dared not report it, fearing it would tarnish the master's reputation. "Ear."

The Imperial Attendant shook his head and said, "Speak freely." He kowtowed again and cried, "It's like I've been reborn to be able to plead my case here today, Your Honor. When I was young, I was somewhat human-like, but I don't know how he knew. Suddenly one day, someone from his family came to me and said, 'Your sister has invited you to speak with her. I'm afraid you won't believe me. This is the hairpin in your sister's hair as proof.' At that time, I didn't know whether my cousin was alive or dead. When I heard the news, I was overjoyed and didn't think twice." Secondly, the young man was reckless and followed him. He was led into an inner room and told to wait while he went to fetch the young man's cousin. After a short while, Nie Bianbao led several men to seize the young man, searched him, found his hairpin, and accused him of being a thief. They stripped him naked and bound him in a room. The young man's cousin, hearing this, rushed to his aid, crying and whispering to him, "This wicked man is lusting after men. Yesterday, his family said you were beautiful, so he devised this scheme to lure you here. If you don't comply, you won't be able to leave this house. You must endure his lustful advances; perhaps Heaven will take pity on you and you'll escape with your lives. My brother and I..." "There may be a day when we can avenge this feud. But if you die, I will have no chance to get revenge. You died because of me, and I will never betray you." The Imperial Censor laughed and said, "This is common knowledge among southerners. Why do you speak of it so vehemently? This is just a lie told out of revenge." Ying Yang kowtowed again and said, "If I dare to utter a single falsehood, I deserve to die ten thousand times. His name is Nie the Donkey. Even prostitutes who have unfortunately encountered him still weep uncontrollably. Of the young women who have been defiled by him, four or five out of ten survive, and all of them are afflicted with diseases. What about the men?" "I was young then, unable to control myself, and desperate for my life, I had no choice but to comply. He was so cruel; he tied me to a stool and raped me, pulling out more than a foot of my intestines, which still dangle several inches to this day. The master didn't believe me and ordered someone to examine me. By then, I was already dead, but my sister revived me after half the night. When I woke up, my sister cried and said that when I died, he ordered his family to drag me out and throw me away. It was only because my sister pleaded repeatedly that I was spared. The next morning, she bribed two of his servants to take me home." The Imperial Censor asked: "What role does your cousin play in his household that allows her to save herself?" Yingyang said, "My cousin secretly told me that when she first arrived at his house, Nie Bianbao hated my maternal uncle for resisting him, so he sexually assaulted her and intended to kill her. Luckily, she survived, and fortunately, she was somewhat beautiful, so he showed her some pity and had her nursed for several months until she recovered. Later, she became his favorite concubine. He separated my father and son, and my husband and wife. Moreover, my father and father-in-law were both framed and punished by the authorities because of him. I hate him to the core. I have survived this ordeal to avenge him." "Yes, as you say, this Min woman is indeed a good woman." Ying Yang continued, "My cousin also told me: 'You escaped with your life, but you must not try to seek justice, do not go to the prefectural or county government. Even the provincial governor's office is useless. If anything goes wrong, my sister and I will both die unjustly. You can go to Nanjing, where you might encounter an impartial official who will plead your case, and perhaps you can get rid of your hatred.' I have endured for many years, and to see the face of the upright official today is the greatest fortune for my sister and me."

The magistrate thought for a moment and asked, "How old was this?" The man replied, "I was only fifteen then." The magistrate asked again, "And now?" The man replied, "I'm thirty-eight this year." The magistrate asked again, "How many years have you been here?" The man replied, "Eighteen years." The magistrate asked again, "Where were you during those years?" The man replied, "I escaped with my life and returned home, but fell ill for over a year. I have no brothers or sisters, only a widowed mother. Because of poverty, she was heartbroken for her child and burdened with the hardship of spinning and weaving. Just as I recovered, my mother fell ill again, lay ill for several months, and passed away. At that time, my family had no money and could not afford a burial. I couldn't bear to leave and struggle for so many years to bury her." The magistrate asked again, "Since you are so poor, how did you marry, and how did you come to be with your wife?" [The repeated questioning shows his meticulousness, perhaps because he feared there might be a wronged person among those he was questioning.] Seeing the sharpness of his rebuttal, Ying Yang was taken aback and replied, "When I was young, my father was betrothed to a daughter of the Yin family. Later, my father-in-law saw that I was not strong enough to marry her. At that time, I was twenty years old, and his daughter was nineteen. My father-in-law only had two people and one daughter, and his family was very poor. He had no choice but to let me marry into the family." The magistrate nodded, and he continued, "When I was young, I studied at the home of Magistrate Jin. His son and I were very close. He pitied my plight and gave me some travel expenses, which allowed me to come here and seek refuge under Master Ruan's patronage. I have been protected and cared for until today." The magistrate smiled and said, "You have also been educated. No wonder you speak so clearly." He then asked, "What do you do?" He replied, "Because I have no capital, I learned some singing and playing instruments since I was young and work as a hanger-on for adults." The magistrate laughed and said, "This is a specialty of you Suzhou people." He then said, "What other misdeeds does he have? Tell me what you know." He replied: “I was young and have been away from home for a long time, so I don’t know the details and dare not speak recklessly. It is said that everyone in the county wants to eat his flesh. Even if someone reports it, people are afraid of his accumulated power and would rather suffer injustice than seek justice. If you arrest him and release him for prosecution, and if not many people come forward to seek justice, I will accept the crime of lying and am willing to die in front of the magistrate.” The magistrate then asked, “Is there not a single good official in the area who allows him to be so presumptuous?” He replied, “Whenever I hear about matters concerning the villagers and their hometown, I hear that two officials from the Ministry of Justice investigated his crimes.” "Even if he's evil, we must arrest him, but he's related to the imperial family. However, the imperial envoy and eunuch who came were entrusted with his protection by the imperial family. He's also familiar with all the clerks in the various government offices, so someone informed him before the matter even took place. The eunuch managed to get things back from the governor. With such means, he acts with impunity." The governor angrily said, "Wait until I investigate further. If it's just about you and your brother, and the truth is found, this servant should be dead. What about him? Write down your name." Ying Yang kowtowed, got up, wrote it down, and knelt to present it.

The magistrate received the petition addressed to Yingyang, a resident of Kunshan County, whose cousin was surnamed Min. He handed it to Yingyang's family, saying, "Report this to me in Suzhou." The family member accepted it and then said to Yingyang, "The magistrate questioned you earlier. If you were lying, you wouldn't have come. You answered every question fluently, so your grievances may be true. When will you return?" Yingyang knelt and replied, "I will return in two or three days." The magistrate said, "When you get home, don't let it slip. Find out that I am in Suzhou, and then come to the yamen to file your petition." Yingyang kowtowed and said, "I will obey." The magistrate instructed, "Get up and go." Yingyang said, "Thank you for your great kindness, sir." He kowtowed four times and then took his leave. Ruan Dacheng could not persuade him to stay and saw him off in his robes before he got into his sedan chair and left. Back in the hall, Yingyang thanked the magistrate and went home.

Ruan Dacheng sent a table of food to bid farewell to Madam Yin. Yingyang told Madam Yin what had happened before, and the couple were overjoyed. They were about to leave when they came to say goodbye to their daughter and son-in-law. Wu He was not home. They told their daughter that they were going back to Suzhou. Madam Yin was shocked and cried, "I've only been married for less than a month. Why are you, Father and Mother, suddenly thinking of moving me away?" [Brilliant. Because they hadn't been home for a month, Yingyang and his wife didn't know that their son-in-law was a eunuch. If they had stayed longer, how could they not know? Although it wasn't explicitly stated, it was a form of compensation.] Her father couldn't say anything, so he just sighed and said, "You've brought honor to your parents. You're kicking us out, and you say we abandoned you?" Madam Yin didn't understand and asked her mother why she said that. Madam Yin then told her how the Long family boy had been talking so rudely and shamefully in the neighborhood. It was so disgusting that no one could bear to hear it, and his shameful reputation had spread throughout the neighborhood. How could they possibly stay there? So he said he wanted to go back. Madam Ying blushed, lowered her head, and had no answer, only weeping bitterly. Ying Yang left fifty taels of silver with the couple, then cried for a while before leaving. Madam Ying sat in the center of the room, feeling miserable, and thought of the young man from the Long family, gritting her teeth and saying, "You plucked a beautiful flower from me, and after three or four years of our affair, I became pregnant. I embarrassed myself because of you, and yet you ruined me like this, showing no regard for my reputation, and even separated my father and son. You are heartless and ungrateful! If I ever meet you again, I will bite off a piece of his flesh and eat it. [What does the flesh have to do with it? I should bite off his genitals.] Only then will I be able to vent my hatred." [Having said these words, she later died without any regrets towards the young man from the Long family.]

Meanwhile, when Wu He returned, Madam Ying showed him the silver, saying that her parents wanted to move back to their hometown. Wu He rushed to see them off, only to find that they had been gone for a long time. When he returned and asked his father-in-law why he had moved away, he couldn't bring himself to admit to his shameful adultery . He simply said that his parents missed their hometown and had gone back.

Now, since Ying came to the Wu family, although she had no house to live in, she was well-fed and clothed. Wu He doted on her, always going to great lengths to find good things for her. Whenever he went out to do odd jobs, he would always sell some meat, vegetables, and fruit from his home. Knowing that Ying could drink a good cup of wine, he would fill a large jar and leave it at home before leaving. Ying was content and happy, but after a while, once she was well-fed and clothed, she began to crave human flesh. [This phrase, though old, feels fresh with two words.] Because Wu He was often away, he had no relatives or friends visiting him, except for Old Wang, nicknamed "Drunkard Wang," who was seventy years old and lived at the end of the alley. [The following sentence has a reason.] Only Old Wang delivered a load of water to her house every morning; no one else came. He would often stand at the door for half a day without seeing a single person pass by, and this happened many times.

One day, Old Wang brought water, and Ying asked him, "Where does this alley lead? Why does no one walk through it?" The drunkard Wang replied, "This is a dead-end alley. No one walks through it. There aren't many houses in the neighborhood, and they're all doing business outside. They go out early and return late every day. How can anyone come and go?" Hearing this, Ying's anger was extinguished. She had initially hoped that she might find a chance to meet someone interesting to satisfy her cravings, but there was no one to even look at her. This old man was past his prime and unusable. She had no choice but to give up. At night, she and Wu He would be close, kissing and cuddling, sleeping intimately. Although they lacked a certain something in their lower body, they were still a loving couple. During the day, when Wu He wasn't home, she would lock the door, sit inside, take a nap when she was tired, and drink a few cups when she was bored. Just as one who has been eating a vegetarian diet for a long time no longer craves meat, Wu He visited her home nine times out of ten. Seeing Ying Shi sitting with the door closed, he was secretly pleased, thinking that such a virtuous and quiet woman was worthy of a grand memorial arch, and he no longer suspected her. [This sentence leads to many subsequent instances of suspicion.] Therefore, their love deepened. He knew that the woman was like a poor man, without money for meat, enduring only meager fare.

Time flew by, and more than two years passed in the blink of an eye. At the entrance of their alley, there was a local temple. An old monk used to tend to the incense, but because there were few people in the alley, he had no one to support him and had gone elsewhere. After a long period of vacancy, a monk named Liaoyuan suddenly appeared. He was tall and strong, with thick eyebrows and bulging eyes, and was over thirty years old. He came to the temple to cultivate and to pay respects to the people. The crowd said, “There are only four or five families living in this alley, all small-scale business owners. We can’t afford to provide for them, so each family can only contribute a bowl of rice and a lamp’s oil each day. That’s why the previous monk couldn’t stay and left. How can we keep you?” Liaoyuan said, “Amitabha, monks are supposed to practice asceticism. They can endure hunger, let alone have food to eat. This is your compassion.” The crowd said, “Since you are willing to guard the incense, that’s excellent. We have no objections, so please come and stay.” Liaoyuan heard this and came to stay, cleaning the place thoroughly.

This temple was a courtyard with a main gate, three small rooms, and a shrine to the local earth god and his wife. [Even a mud earth god needs a wife, how can a living monk not need a woman?] Behind the wall was another small gate, also a small courtyard, with two west wing rooms, one used as a bedroom and the other as a kitchen. This monk was originally a notorious bandit who had escaped from prison after being imprisoned for his crimes. He had amassed a fortune of about a thousand taels of silver, which he buried underground. When he escaped, he retrieved it, hid it beside him, shaved his head, became a monk, protected himself, and fled. Thinking that Nanjing, a prosperous city with a diverse population, would be a place where he could blend in, he traveled to the capital. However, he feared that a bustling place would be unsafe and that he would be recognized. After searching for many days, he finally found this small temple in a secluded alley. He was overjoyed, spending his days collecting meals from various households and then returning to sit high in the temple, never leaving. Everyone said he was a virtuous and high-ranking monk. He was nominally a monk, yet he abstained from meat and alcohol, possessing plenty of gold and silver, but he refused to buy them for himself. This drunkard, Wang, would often sit and chat with him when he brought him water each day. Knowing that Wang loved to drink, Wang would give him money to buy water, and the two would drink together. Wang would also often give him money for walking, which the old man found delightful.

One day, Old Wang brought water. During their conversation, he said, "I'm so grateful for your kindness, Master. I regret that I have no money. If I had money, I would buy you something to show my respect. A monk's things aren't something you can just take for granted." Liaoyuan laughed and said, "Do you want me to kill a chicken or a goose?" Old Wang also laughed, "You monks eat meat now?" Liaoyuan said, "I eat dog meat too. Haven't you heard people say that a kind heart doesn't need to be vegetarian?" Old Wang thought he was joking and replied with a smile, "When I have money, I'll buy dog meat to invite you, Master." Liaoyuan laughed and said, "As long as you're willing to buy it, I'll..." "How about we buy it together?" So he took three hundred coins from the room and handed them to him, saying, "Don't buy raw meat, or cooked chicken, goose, duck, or cooked beef, mutton, or dog meat, whatever you like, buy it." The old man grinned, his eyes wide, his white beard twitching, and looked at him, saying, "Master, are you serious?" Liaoyuan said, "If I'm not serious, then what am I lying?" The old man earned a few coins every day carrying water, barely enough to buy rice after drinking, and had never seen meat all year. Now, hearing that meat was being bought to share with him, his mouth watered. He swallowed twice, took the money, and went out. Liaoyuan called him back, and the old man became impatient, saying, "I'm not kidding you, but you're clearly carrying it. It'll be embarrassing if someone sees you." He took a basket and handed it to him, saying, "Put what you buy in here. Whatever kind of vegetables you buy, like spinach or cabbage, cover them tightly so no one can see them." The old man smiled and walked away, saying, "No need to tell me, I know." He went and returned quickly, carrying the basket with a grin, having bought a large piece of hot beef and two smoked chickens. Liaoyuan then gave him two hundred coins and a large earthenware pot, saying, "While I'm chopping the vegetables, go and fill it with the best liquor, however much you like. As long as no one sees, it's fine. If anyone sees and asks, just say you bought it." Hearing that he needed liquor, he ran even faster and returned in a flash. The two of them closed the door and ate heartily until nightfall. The old man, drunk and full, thanked them profusely and got up to leave. Liao Yuan said, "I have something else to say. You're always busy delivering water to people in the mornings, but when you're free in the afternoon, come to my place and buy me some things. I'll treat you." He gave him another hundred coins, saying, "This is to buy you a pair of shoes. Don't tell anyone after you've had a few drinks. If they find out, I won't be able to stay, and you won't have anything to eat." The old man was overjoyed and quickly replied, "My hair is all white; how could I not know kindness? Master, you're so kind to me. Even if you kill me, I won't tell anyone." He then took his leave. From then on, it became a regular occurrence, and he would come every day to buy wine and meat for the old man, and the two of them enjoyed it. This drunkard Wang had never lived such a good life before; he couldn't be happier. Now

, let's talk about Liao Yuan. He collected meals from these households every day but never came to Wu He's house. He had never seen this Ying woman, and Ying woman had never seen him either. What was the reason for this? Because Wu He was often away from home and rarely at home, and only a young woman was at home, he was worried about the inconvenience. He had told her beforehand that since no one was home, she didn't need to come to collect the rice; he would send her five liters of rice each month, which she could pick up on the appointed day. This was the established rule. She had come twice before, both times when Wu He was home, and he bought rice in the market and delivered it to her. That day, the appointed day arrived, but Wu He had forgotten about it. The night was very hot, and there were many mosquitoes. Ying Shi hadn't slept all night, and the next morning, when it was cool, she finally drifted off to sleep. Wu He wanted to go out, so he called to the woman, "I'm going out. Get up and close the door." Ying Shi was very sleepy and said, "I want to sleep. If you close the door, Old Wang will bring water and I'll have to open it again. I'm impatient. Just close the door." Wu He agreed and closed the door. It just so happened that this was the day to collect the monthly rice harvest. Knowing that Wu Hechang was not at home, he came to look for him early in the morning. When he arrived at the door, he found it closed, and Wu Hechang had not yet gotten up. After waiting for a while, the door did not open. He pushed it open and found it was only slightly ajar. He called out, "Is Master Wu at home?" He called twice, but there was no answer. He went in and peeked into the guest room. [A robber's act.] There was no one there. He looked through the bedroom window and saw a woman lying naked on the bed, with nothing covering her body. Her skin was snow-white and clean, and her small feet were wearing bright red slippers. To avoid flies, she covered her face with a banana leaf. Although there was a gauze curtain behind her, he could see clearly. She was truly lovely. It was like:

a piece of white jade lying on a bamboo mat, and
a cluster of delicate peonies shrouded in mist inside the gauze curtain.

A tingling sensation ran from the top of his head to the soles of his feet. The bald thief, seeing no one around, was now risking his life and couldn't restrain himself. He quietly pushed open the door, took off his clothes, lifted the curtain, and gently climbed onto the bed. Upon closer inspection, he saw that the woman, afraid of the heat, had her legs wide open, one of them resting on the bamboo wife. Although her manhood had given birth, it hadn't been used for over two years and was full and plump. Her body was even fatter than before, and her manhood was even more rounded, almost glowing, revealing only a thin slit, slightly parted, revealing a small, purplish flower-like bud, smooth and hairless. The bald thief's lust was aroused, and his little monk erected at his waist, over seven inches long and as thick as a bell. He dared not act rashly. He spat, smeared some on his head, then rubbed some on the entrance to his vulva. He lowered his head, aimed carefully, and thrust it into the crevice. The little monk's head was already inside the red gate. The woman awoke with a start, lifted her fan, and saw that it was a monk. She asked in surprise, "Where did you come from, so bold?" The thieving bald man held her tightly and said, "Female Bodhisattva, this humble monk has come to beg for alms." As he spoke, he thrust wildly. The woman had been celibate for a long time, and the sudden taste of something new was indescribably pleasurable. She had never experienced such a large, powerful object before, and felt completely filled, every thrust hitting every itch. She couldn't speak, letting him thrust in and out. The thieving bald man was strong and powerful, and he thrust vigorously, making the woman's face red and her bones weak and her muscles limp, unable to enjoy it any longer. But I fear that joy may turn to sorrow, and their lives may end due to adultery. To find out what happened to them afterward, you must read the next chapter. (
