Restricted Lovers [Complete] - 8

In Chapter 4 of the third episode

, after confirming that everyone was heading in the same direction, Fei Yue immediately asked Feng Hua and Yin You to lead the elderly and weak to the third floor or above for refuge. The remaining 130 people were divided into 13 equal teams. Five teams guarded the second-floor windows, while the eight teams on the first floor guarded the hall and the north and south gates.

The caltrops they had picked up were evenly scattered on the steps leading into the hall, using their own methods against them.

"It's best to deploy more troops at the north gate than at the south gate," the pretty landlady said. "The demons will attack from the hall and the north gate, and..."

"Bang! "

Before the pretty landlady could finish speaking and before Fei Yue could react, the sound of breaking glass suddenly came from the second floor.

"Everyone! Stay at your posts and do not leave!"

"...Tear gas!" A painful sound came from the second floor.

Before Fei Yue could even take the time to dispatch mobile personnel upstairs for rescue, several smoke bombs were thrown in from outside.

"What happened? That was fast!" Before the defensive formation could be completed, the enemy had already stormed in. Hiyue hurriedly pushed the pretty landlady, Sama, and Yotsuba behind a pillar, then immediately peered out into the foggy surroundings and ordered, "Don't move around! Those closer to the north gate, go provide support immediately! The rest of you, focus on the entrance to the hall. Shoot at any moving shadows!"

"Hiyue, Ryua is missing!" the pretty landlady cried anxiously.

"What?" Hiyue immediately searched around, and I helped by peering out, but visibility was only about three feet. Although we could see many shadows hiding behind pillars nearby, we couldn't tell if they were male or female.

“She’s probably gotten separated! She should be nearby. I’ll go look for her. You all stay here and don’t move.”

“I’ll go with you!” The pretty landlady stepped forward. “I can roughly guess where the demons will attack next.”

“Thank you, Xiaocheng, but please help me command the other teams. I can handle danger if I encounter it alone, but your predictive ability is indispensable to the others. We must hold off the photography club’s attack! If you have any spare capacity, please also keep an eye out for Ryua in the crowd. If you see her, please ask her to come back to Yotsuba and Sama immediately.”

“But my intuition isn’t 100% accurate…”

“It’s okay if you can’t predict all the attack points. Just stop most of the club members! We have abundant resources. If we run out of bullets, we can use environmental weapons freely. That’s why this fortress must not be breached by the demons. We must hold on!” As soon

as she finished speaking, fierce gunfire erupted from the north gate and the main gate.

"See, you were right! You have to believe in your abilities! Go!"

Hishiyue gave an encouraging smile, gripped her gun, and covered the beautiful landlady's safe movement towards the north gate. She then turned to instruct Sama and Hishiyue not to leave their current location easily. Seeing that they both nodded, she quickly went upstairs to pursue them.

Taking advantage of the hazy smoke and poor visibility, I quietly climbed out of Yotsuba's bag and followed Hishiyue's trail to the second floor.

The situation upstairs wasn't good, but it wasn't too serious either. A window was broken, and five or six contestants lay dead on the ground. Clearly, someone had broken in, but not many; otherwise, there would have been more dead.

A metal hook with a thick rope tied to its end was hooked onto the windowsill. The beautiful landlady hadn't expected the demon to infiltrate from the second floor. Perhaps, as she said, predictions are rarely 100% accurate.

After observing the surroundings, Hiiyue immediately retreated. The people who were supposed to be guarding the window were now almost all gone, perhaps hiding in the classroom. But the intruder didn't seem inclined to confront her directly.

The wind blowing in through the window diluted the tear gas, and the white smoke from the smoke grenades thrown in later was slowly dissipating. Simply following Hiiyue wouldn't offer any real help, so I circled around from the inside of the classroom to her front, fearlessly becoming the vanguard and scouting for the enemy.

Anyway, even if I was unlucky, at worst I'd be dragged back to the club; my life wouldn't be in danger.

However, this didn't mean the job would be much easier, because I had to calculate Hiiyue's speed and cautiously dodge the neurotic contestant. The problem was that I wasn't familiar with the layout; several times I mistook the stairwell for the restroom and almost fell down. Fortunately, I was unharmed along the way, but after circling almost the entire way, I hadn't found anything.

As I was thinking that the other person might have climbed to the third floor or returned to the first, I caught a glimpse of a dark figure wearing a top hat in Hyacinth Class 2, plunging a dagger into the back of a man's neck. The blade retracted into the metal handle, red paint flowing out and staining the man's skin. The man's body went limp and he slumped into a chair.

A knife... No wonder there was no sound! So, the purpose of throwing smoke bombs on the first floor was to confuse the situation?

I immediately sensed something was wrong and rushed back to the next classroom to check. Sure enough, what I thought was my superior stealth skills was actually because almost all the contestants on the second floor were dead.

I quickly picked up the white chalk that had fallen to the ground and drew a simple location map near the door, marking the location of B, so that Fei Yue wouldn't suffer the same fate as the victim. Just as I finished, a slender figure vaguely appeared. I quickly hid behind the door, and when we were close enough, I threw the remaining small piece of chalk in front of her, just in time for her to see the message left on the ground.

Upon receiving the alert, Fei Yue didn't immediately rush into the next classroom to kill the damned devil. Instead, she first assessed the accuracy of the intelligence. Glancing into the classroom, she saw a girl lying on the podium. Whether she thought it was the girl's tip-off or not, she clearly decided to believe this hindsight warning.

She erased the image, stuck it to the wall, and cautiously peeked into Hyacinth Class Two. After determining the devil's location, she fired a shot without hesitation.

Even with the deafening noise downstairs, the sound of the bullet hitting the ground was clearly audible.

Instantly.

Excellent, one eliminated! I cheered inwardly.

Even though I couldn't watch the battle, listening to the proceedings was truly exhilarating.

Although betraying a club member is immoral, I was only a mascot and never swore allegiance to this devil's party. Even though I had been misled by the fortune teller's prophecy, as a man, I should have unwavering beliefs, especially since they had taken nude photos for their own selfish gain—something I could never forgive!

As for Ryua, who was implicated... besides deep remorse, I can only make it up to her when the time is right!

Having tasted the humiliation of my sisters being raped, no matter what the price must be paid this time, I will stake my honor on this revenge battle and never let them taste the same humiliation again!

After killing B, Feiyue looted about fifty usable bullets from his body, and then took the remaining ten bullets from the fallen. Having dealt with the major threat on the second floor, but with Ryua nowhere to be seen, Feiyue was about to go to the third floor to check if Fenghua and the others were alright when I, following her out of the classroom, was startled to discover a figure outside four classrooms.

At this point, besides Feiyue and me, there should be no one alive on the second floor. I was almost certain that the person dressed in orange and purple was Su Fei! The

lingering white smoke provided good cover as he silently followed behind Feiyue, drew his gun, and aimed at the red figure ahead.

"Bang!" The sudden loud crash of the table overturning startled Fei Yue, who immediately ducked and rolled behind the wall. Distracted and losing his attack opportunity, Su Fei also darted into the nearest classroom.

In the instant both had left the corridor, I quickly drew a simple map on the floor.

I didn't know where Su Fei was hiding, but at least I could mark which classroom he was in, lest he cunningly hide and ambush Fei Yue from behind.

After about thirty seconds, Su Fei remained silent. Fei Yue fired a few bullets into the empty corridor and began to actively approach the enemy's position.

She moved very cautiously from inside the classroom, only using heavy firepower to suppress the enemy when her body was exposed in the corridor between the back door of the classroom and the front door of the adjacent classroom. Otherwise, she conserved her firepower as much as possible. However, the cover fire was also a warning to the enemy, so when she saw my map, she began to restrain herself.

That's it!

I prayed for her in my heart, hoping that she could send Su Fei back to his hometown of Suzhou to sell duck eggs, just like she did with B! I held my breath and watched her approach step by step until she was only a wall away.

Softening her breathing, she switched the Glock 17 to her left hand, gently removed her anklet from her right hand, and after calculating the timing, threw it into the corridor, then rushed into the classroom.

"Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang!"

After four gunshots, everything fell silent. I had just peeked out when I saw Su Fei rush out of the classroom and run in the opposite direction.

Don't chase a cornered enemy, so Fei Yue didn't pursue him relentlessly. She simply stood in the corridor, her right hand outstretched, like a confident hunter, and hooked her index finger at Su Fei's elusive back.

"Bang!"

Blood exploded behind him, and Su Fei immediately collapsed to the ground, his limbs twitching, then he stopped reacting.

Even a capable general isn't invincible!

"The second one," Fei Yue said coldly, blowing on the smokeless barrel of her gun. She turned and headed towards the third floor.

This time, I didn't follow, but rushed back to the first floor to assess the situation.

Since Su Fei and B were on an assassination mission, there shouldn't be too many demons sneaking up to the second floor. Besides their agility, it seemed impossible for others to climb that floor in such a short time. Moreover, the second floor had just been cleaned; Feng Hua on the third floor was certainly safe.

Fortunately, the pincer attack strategy failed, otherwise the situation would have been even worse.

...So, is it because the trouble on the second floor will always be resolved by Hiyori, which is why the pretty landlady is indifferent? But all three teams, a total of thirty lives, have been sacrificed!

Or is it that the pretty landlady's predictive ability becomes drastically different if it's not used for exam questions?

Sigh, never mind! I'm not her, I can't understand the ins and outs of this, it's better to leave quickly.

Back on the first floor, the two sides are still in a stalemate. I think if it weren't for the pretty landlady commanding the situation, the teaching building would have already fallen!

Thank goodness the smoke hasn't cleared yet. Back at Yotsuba's side, the two of them are huddled behind a pillar, still alive.

"Waaah...it's so scary! Yotsuba, I don't want to stay here! Waaah..." Sama is crying with snot and tears streaming down her face.

"It's okay, don't be afraid, it's safe here! Hiyori will bring Ryua back soon, be strong!" Yotsuba hugs her and keeps comforting her.

"But...but..." Sama held back her tears, struggling to keep them from falling. "Yotsuba, aren't you scared?"

"No, because I believe in Hiizuki and Sumi." Where Sama couldn't see, her delicate brows furrowed, her gentle face unable to conceal her tension and worry.

"Sama, think about it. Sumi is in a place far more dangerous than us. She must be even more anxious than you are, but to protect everyone's safety, she didn't come back. So you have to muster the courage to be just as brave as her!" "I know

...but...but..." Sama desperately tried to hold back her tears, but a burst of gunfire erupted in the distance, the sounds of gunfire incessant. Her shoulders trembled, and she cried even louder!

"Don't cry, don't cry! You'll become ugly..." Comforting words continued. Yotsuba was really going through a lot!

Although I also wanted to help the pretty landlady, my transformation time hadn't arrived yet, and the fighting area was teeming with people. I really didn't want to risk being discovered or trampled to death, so I finally chose to hide back in Yotsuba's bag and sit there waiting.

Waiting for what? Of course, it's a retreat.

Even though they seem to be able to contend with the Extreme Sports Club at the moment, if they insist on attacking, sacrificing a few demons is still possible! However, the Extreme Sports Club has adopted a safer approach. They are waiting, waiting for the hidden dangers to surface, for the malignant tumor to grow, waiting for the contestants to run out of ammunition. At that time, even if the beautiful landlord has the best luck, she won't be able to stop the demons' invasion.

Once the demons break in, the hostages upstairs will definitely be lost. As long as the remaining contestants are forced to the top floor or basement, they will be trapped with no way to escape. They have always planned this out.

Therefore, Scarlet Moon will definitely make a retreat plan before running out of ammunition and supplies, using brave warriors as shields to allow some of the remaining soldiers to survive.

"Hey, we're almost out of bullets here!"

"What about the ones left on the third floor?"

"Not many left! Bastards, how much firepower do these demons have?"

Just as I thought, within a few minutes, the crisis of insufficient supplies became apparent. If we don't leave now, what will we use to fight the demons? Tables? Chairs?

Meanwhile, Feiyue had Fenghua and Yinyou bring the people downstairs.

"Yosuga, is Ryua back?"

"No, isn't she upstairs?"

"They must have been separated!" Feiyue looked at the situation, her face only described as "ugly."

"The east and north gates are in chaos, so we had to retreat to the student activity center from the south gate," Feiyue said.

"Why the sudden retreat?" As soon as they came downstairs, Yinyou coughed incessantly in the white mist, and Fenghua quickly took out a handkerchief for her to cover her mouth and nose.

Feiyue explained briefly that although moving to the activity center wouldn't improve the situation, at least there were fewer entrances and exits there, making defense easier.

"Let's go to the library!" Sama shouted, "The library only has one door, isn't that much better than the other buildings? And there are many books inside, the demons definitely won't dare to fire indiscriminately!"

"Of course I know that... but the battle at the north gate is fierce, going out there would definitely be suicide. There are many elderly people and children in the group, they can't move fast or hide, aren't you just making things difficult for them?" Feiyue said.

“But…”

“Sama, Hiizuki is right.” Feng Hua stepped forward and said, “We all agree with your idea, but we must consider other factors. Even if we can guarantee 100% safety after entering the library, it’s meaningless if only 30% of the survivors remain, you know?”

Despite her insistence being refuted, Sama’s expression still revealed a slight reluctance, but judging from the expressions of the others, they seemed to know that further persistence was hopeless.

“What if we could guarantee 80% survival?”

Suddenly, a female voice rang out. Everyone turned to look, only to see a cat-like shadow looming over Sama. Before they could think further, the newcomer was already standing before them—it was none other than the elusive Ryua.

“What’s that?” Sama pointed to Ryua’s hands. Her slender fingers held six transparent test tubes sealed with corks. Two liquids deemed prohibited from entering the library were pushed up and down with coverslips, separated by a layer of air.

“Liquid explosives.” Liuya said casually, “The photography club said that environmental weapons could be used freely, so when I came here, the first thing I thought of was the chemistry classroom. It just so happened that collecting these materials was not very difficult, but it took quite a while to grind the coverslips into round shapes. Fortunately, I still made it in time.”

"Great, finally some powerful weapons!" Feiyue happily took the test tube from Liuya's hand. "After we find Xiaocheng, I'll use explosives to clear a path. Fenghua, you immediately lead the team towards the library. Don't delay. I'll try my best to hold off the photography club and buy you time to retreat safely."

"Understood."

"Bang!" Suddenly, a loud explosion rang out, followed by a cloud of smoke and flying shards of glass. Fortunately, Feiyue quickly turned her back and protected the test tube in her arms. Otherwise, if the cover glass had shattered, everyone present would have been blown to pieces.

"N-no, the south gate has been breached!"

In the blast, a person covered in dust and running frantically came running, followed by two or three dark figures. Some of the contestants who were originally guarding the main gate immediately surrounded them in the shortest possible time, firing at each other through the pillars.

"Damn it! We didn't expect the demons to disperse their forces, so we sent a few more people to support the main gate. Who knew some demons would suddenly move to the south gate, lose something, and blow it up! We...we failed to hold the stronghold, we're really sorry!" the man reported, sweating profusely.

"...Never mind, it's too late now, it's lost, there's no point in regretting it. Go and tell everyone to move the defensive line towards the north gate. In three minutes, we will retreat to the library," Fei Yue ordered.

"Yes!"

Watching the man leave safely and return to the front line, Fei Yue didn't dare to delay and began her operation: "Find Xiao Cheng at the north gate first, you all stay close to me, don't get separated!"

Feng Hua and the others followed Fei Yue closely, passing through the hall.

The north gate was just four planks, and even in the chaos, Fei Yue easily spotted the beautiful landlady's busy figure.

The plan was explained again: forty suicide squad members were willing to stay. Subtracting the six squads lost on the first and second floors, only one hundred could proceed to the next stronghold.

"After throwing the test tubes, run forward immediately, don't look back. We'll provide cover from behind," Fei Yue instructed.

"Commander, you should come too. We can stay here. It would be too embarrassing for you to perish here!" a squad leader said.

"No, in that case, you should all go with the team," Fei Yue objected.

"No need for that. Just leave us a few tubes of explosives. Don't underestimate ordinary schools. We've played a few survival games before. Although there's no distinction between men and women on the battlefield, if you're always the one protecting us, how are we supposed to make a living?"

"Exactly! Everyone has different responsibilities. Leaders should stay away from the battlefield."

"By the way, have you dealt with the problems on the second floor?"

"Yeah, we took down two."

"Two? Hmm, a 10,000 yuan consolation payment is enough. Remember to share the prize money with us after you win!"

These comments resonated with many, and Fei Yue could only comply with their wishes, leaving behind four tubes of liquid explosives.

"No need to use detonators. Just throw them out, and the two solutions will mix and explode naturally. The explosion radius is approximately 1.5 meters. Please use with caution," Liu Ya explained.

"Just throw them out... It's really convenient!" The squad leader looked at the test tubes.

The contestants at the main gate and south gate had slowly retreated, and the demons were gradually stepping over the abandoned human territory. Suddenly, a backpack flew over the defensive line, landing right in front of the pretty landlady.

The ticking of the timer sounded crisply in the deathly silence of the terrified crowd.

"Take cover!" Fei Yue shouted, but the landlady struggled to lift the backpack, seemingly trying to throw it back.

"Too late!" In desperation, Fei Yue, in front of everyone, forcibly tore off a door panel with her bare hands, covered the bomb with it, and urgently ordered, "Jump!"

The moment they jumped, a large amount of red paint splattered out from the gaps, and those who couldn't jump in time or stood to the side were immediately stained red and wet.

Before they could even complain, a second backpack came!

Deadly, this time it landed right among the elderly, weak, women, and children, and because it was thrown a long distance and stayed in the air for a long time, the bomb exploded almost immediately upon landing, scattering red paint everywhere, causing heavy casualties.

"Yin You!"

The beautiful landlady suddenly let out a shrill scream. The women looked in the direction of the sound and were horrified to find that Yin You's forehead and chest were stained with a large amount of blood. She was leaning against a pillar and slowly sliding down. The beautiful landlady knelt beside her and held her hands tightly.

"I'm sorry, it's all my fault for being so useless..." Yin You said weakly, her voice barely audible.

"Don't say that, you did it to protect me... you did it..." The beautiful landlady almost sobbed.

"I'm sorry, Xiao Cheng, I can't go on. Don't worry about me, go quickly."

"No, Yin You! Cheer up! I will definitely take you away! Cheer up!"

"Go quickly!"

Fei Yue immediately rushed forward and dragged the beautiful landlady away from the place, leading the survivors on a retreat route. Meanwhile, the demons, keeping a close watch, sent two more backpacks over, each time taking a considerable number of lives.

"No! Yin You, Yin You!" The tightly clasped hands were mercilessly separated. The beautiful landlady looked back repeatedly, but was powerless to resist, walking further and further away.

Faced with the heart-wrenching cries, Yin You, sitting on the marble floor, only smiled and slowly closed her eyes…

Feng Hua stretched out her hand and waved it in the air. The sensor flashed, and the automatic door opened in response.

"It was unlocked after all!" Fei Yue lifted the cover of the switch box next to the automatic door, glanced at it, and then closed it slightly. "Was it deliberately left open because they were afraid we were too weak and would be easily defeated?"

"Then let them see!" Feng Hua said.

"Hmm, but we still need to restore it to its original state first. Does anyone have a set of light tools?" Fei Yue asked.

"Would a manicure kit work?" The beautiful landlady had wiped away her tears and regained her usual resolute expression. She took a manicure kit from her sling bag, and Fei Yue took it and saw that it indeed contained everything she needed.

Using nail clippers, she removed the cover, switch, and power socket from the switch box, then used nail clippers and nail scissors to reconnect the tampered wiring.

After finishing, Fei Yue rubbed her right shoulder and asked Feng Hua, "Could you take off this dress? Wearing something like this, which restricts your movements, only reduces your fighting ability. A pair of shoes would be even better!"

"There will be a chance," Feng Hua replied, seemingly having forgotten to bring Fei Yue's clothes.

Entering the library, they were filled with the smell of books and the lingering scent of air conditioning.

The losses were more severe than expected; only twenty-one people had safely reached the library.

"It's you!"

"Sister Feng Hua!"

Two girls of similar height, wearing long-sleeved dresses, stood side-by-side in front of her.

"Linxi, Lina?!" Feng Hua exclaimed, "You... how..."

"I was hoping someone could explain all this!" Linxi angrily pulled at her stained green dress, "Lina and I were walking down the street when we were suddenly splashed with paint. What happened?"

Feng Hua and Fei Yue exchanged a glance, then simultaneously rushed forward, tearing off their clothes in perfect unison.

"What are you doing... you woman of ambiguous sexuality, you're not allowed to insult my dignity!" Linxi shrieked.

"No... If I have to take it off, I want it to be Sister Feng Hua!" Lina cried.

The zipper was pulled down, the dress flew up, and in the blink of an eye, the two were stripped down to only their underwear and shirts.

"Cold... so cold! You perverts! Achoo!" Linxi sneezed, hugging herself tightly, glaring at the two culprits caught red-handed.

"Deotin will never forgive you!... By the way, I was saying that those guys dressed like they were going to a carnival, were they targeting you? If so, you have to pay for this outfit! This is a beautiful dress that Lina and I bought together on our birthdays!" she said angrily.

"We can deal with that later. We need to build up defenses before the demons arrive at the library. Feng Hua, you take everyone upstairs first. I'll go to the administration building to seek support." Fei Yue rubbed her ears, her pain evident.

“Let me go with you,” Ryua stepped forward. “There’s a chemistry lab in the administration building where I can offer some helpful assistance.”

“Me too,” the pretty landlady chimed in. “I want revenge for Yin You!”

“Can I come too?” Yotsuba asked.

“If you’re all going, how can I stay here?” With the three of them saying they were leaving, the usually bold and unrestrained Feng Hua naturally refused to stay cooped up in the library.

“No, Feng Hua, you absolutely have to stay!” Fei Yue surprisingly insisted. “Only you have the ability to manage them, and besides, Lin Xi and Lina are quite familiar with you. If you don’t help keep an eye on them, they’ll definitely cause more trouble!”

“What kind of trouble?” Feeling belittled, Lin Xi put her hands on her hips and shouted indignantly, “Don’t underestimate me! I’m a well-mannered deotin… ugh!”

“I think you’re right.” Feng Hua covered Lin Xi’s incessantly chattering mouth and dragged her upstairs. "Then I'll stay here as you say. Be careful on your way."

"Lina will stay here obediently." Seeing that everyone was holding a gun, Lina seemed to have a vague feeling that something was wrong, and followed them up the stairs. "There are six floors in total, Sister Fenghua, shall we go to the top floor?"

"Let's go to the thesis section! We can build a big fortress with books!" Sama said, skipping and jumping, her interest piqued.

"Sama," Feiyue stared at her sensitively, "when we were at the welfare center, you insisted on coming to the library, but now you're saying without hesitation that you want to stay in the thesis section. Did you receive some news?"

Feiyue's question made Sama lower her head immediately, her eyes revealing wavering.

My heart clenched, and I felt a chill run down my spine. When did this rough and violent woman become so meticulous? Could Sama explain this?

"I... I received a note." Sama said nervously, and I also became uneasy. “It says the photography club won’t touch papers or professors’ personal belongings…”

“Who wrote that?” Hishizuki pressed.

“It was… a friend. He just happened to overhear the photography club’s conversation!” Sama told a seemingly truthful lie, her tone trembling with suspicion.

“But how can you be sure what’s written there is true?” Fuuka pondered.

“He won’t lie, because he’s a very good friend!” Sama’s unwavering support warmed my heart.

“But why papers?” the pretty landlady asked.

“Because they won’t be available again after they’re damaged,” Fuuka guessed. “In a place full of scruples, and with paintballs in the gun, it’ll be a delicate battle!”

Nobody wants to damage precious books; it’s the same for both sides.

“But for us, there’s a huge advantage, isn’t there?” Yotsuba raised a finger.

“Ah, right!” the pretty landlady clapped her hands. “Humans don’t necessarily have to fight demons, but demons have to eliminate all humans before time runs out!”

In other words, all we need to do is lure demons into damaging public property!

"I'll prepare immediately!"

With this understanding, the available conspiracy became clear.

Surveillance cameras were installed in every corner of the library. To prevent the wiring from being damaged by demons and rendering them inoperable, Fei Yue removed two of them and buried them in blind spots to maximize the wide-angle recording, preparing to capture the photography club's misdeeds.

"The rest is up to you!"

"Leave it to me!" Feng Hua smiled broadly. "I think you don't need to bring anyone back. We should be able to hold out until the deadline. Don't forget our goal is to give the photography club a good beating, so go all out!"

Although the thesis section contained a lot of data, it wasn't cluttered.

Long bookshelves were neatly arranged, and every pillar and wall was also a bookshelf; the temperature and humidity were always controlled within a suitable range for book preservation, and the lighting was soft and not glaring; the ceiling and floor had been carefully soundproofed, and the ergonomic sofas were comfortable but not overly soft—in terms of reading environment, it was a high-quality space.

The twenty-three people didn't mind being crowded here; they were busy rearranging the bookshelves to make them more suitable for shielding during battle.

"Then we'll be going now." With Feng Hua's "pardon," Fei Yue's spirits immediately lifted. She walked to the stairs, opened the iron box embedded in the white pillar, and pointed to the purple button inside, saying, "After we leave, press it down, and the infrared alarm on the first floor will activate."

As a librarian herself, Liu Ya also took out a set of keys from the counter drawer, opened the switch box cover inside the automatic door, and said, "There's a red button in here. After pressing it, the automatic door will lose its sensor function."

Then, she picked up a long key, "This is the key to the automatic door lock. Although it's only good for honest people, it can still buy us some time."

"This preparation is thorough enough." Feng Hua took the key and gave them an unceremonious order to leave: "Alright, stop dawdling. Do you think time is unlimited? If you don't leave now, you won't be able to leave later!"

Urged on, Fei Yue was kicked out of the door. Before leaving, she didn't forget to pull down the iron door of the library, creating another obstacle.

Scarlet Moon carefully moved among the trees, pausing occasionally to scout for traps and ensure the presence of any nearby demons.

Natural greenery filled the spaces between the buildings, softening the lines of the campus and allowing students to experience more than just the grandeur and coldness of Gothic architecture; yet even along the dense, verdant paths, danger lurked. Countless human-shaped figurines hanging from the branches proved that the feigned kindness was not a lie. The

pretty landlady and her companions followed closely behind Scarlet Moon. Fortunately, I had Four-Leaf's strap to hide behind, so I didn't have to hold onto a clump of leaves in each hand. I followed cautiously at a safe distance, well aware of my own tracking skills, and I had witnessed Scarlet Moon's sharp hearing. Before I could put my aid to good use, I couldn't afford to be discovered!

After walking for a while, Scarlet Moon suddenly stopped, gesturing with her hands towards the trees, as if measuring something.

A moment later, having measured the results, she took a few steps forward, squatted down, and began digging at a patch of barren ground.

The pretty landlady stepped forward to help, but was stopped by a gesture of apprehension. The object wasn't buried very deep; in the blink of an eye, a small package wrapped in white cloth was revealed beneath the brown soil.

Feiyue picked up the package, carefully unwrapping the cloth to reveal its contents: a compass, a note with a numerical code written on it, and a folding shovel.

Having obtained these three items, Feiyue followed the compass's directions and the numbers on the note to find the next location. After walking and circling for about five minutes, she finally found the treasure's hiding place.

She smiled contentedly, locked the shovel, and began digging deeper.

Without tools, the pretty landlady, Yotsuba, and Ryua were helpless, only able to hold their guns and help guard the surroundings. Hiiyue dug with surprising speed, the shovel tip hitting the metal box a foot below the ground in no time.

Pushing aside the soil on the metal lid, Hiiyue carefully dug it up, knocked off the lock, and lifted the lid. A truckload of weapons and equipment dazzled her.

"Buried just in case. Being prepared was definitely the right thing to do," she said smugly.

That only explains why your paranoia is even worse than the pretty landlady's.

"No wonder we couldn't let Fenghua come along," Ryua concluded.

"Fenghua has always been very stingy with money… I just didn't want her to worry about it all the time," Hiiyue retorted stubbornly.

Of course, it was impossible to pack everything up. Feiyue put on a bulletproof vest, stuffed a first-aid kit into the large right pocket, strapped a pistol and magazine pouch to her waist, and hung four pineapple-shaped grenades. Then she took out a backpack from the box and stuffed in landmines, smoke grenades, a gas mask, and two pestle-shaped wooden-handled grenades, about 36 centimeters long and taller than me.

"Grenades and landmines are too..." Seeing Feiyue fully armed, the pretty landlady was so startled she almost dropped her gun.

"Don't worry, the power has been moderately weakened. You can each take some."

The pretty landlady politely declined, Liuya refused because she had the ability to make explosives, and Yotsuba was inexplicably assigned two grenades.

I really shouldn't have taken them!

That's what I truly thought when they all hit me on the head.

After putting the metal box back in its place and filling in the deep hole, the four of them continued on their way. Soon, the administrative building came into view.

The Gothic architecture appears so serene and majestic, but the square in front of it is a different story.

It has become a purgatory.

Everywhere you look, there are mountains of corpses and seas of blood. Though no severed limbs or exposed bones are visible, the sheer number of intact bodies is horrifying enough!

An abandoned school bus has become a hearse, men and women lying scattered on the ground, their still-warm bones unclaimed. Bloodstains, bloodstains, and bloody footprints intertwine on a vast canvas pieced together from various materials, forming a fiery painting—a bloody abstraction that would send every art critic fleeing in terror and be the object of a murderer's snarl.

Perhaps there was once a united front, but it has been utterly routed.

The rugby club lay fallen amidst shattered protective gear; the kendo club's armor was similarly shattered, its bamboo swords blooming and lying on the ground, accompanied only by the listless dead; the vocal club's mouth gaped open, unable to utter a sound; the astronomy club members all died with their eyes wide open in disbelief; the pharmaceutical research club's white robes served as the best mourning attire; the aikido club's name on the left breast of their uniforms was a solitary epitaph.

The devil rejected prisoners of war and treated the dead cruelly; corpses, subjected to torture in life, lay sprawled in bizarre poses in pools of blood resembling tomato sauce, the blood-soaked campus now resembling a giant, bubbling hot pot.

I thought such a scene could only be seen in the chaotic Warring States period, but unexpectedly, it has reappeared in today's peaceful and prosperous society.

Seeing it with one's own eyes is far more shocking than trying to imagine it from words; after all, reality is more nuanced than imagination, yet the cruelty that one instinctively tries to ignore cannot be ignored.

The dark gap between eras is nothing more than this.

The carnage, a microcosm of a massacre with corpses strewn across the fields, received no condemnation. Those isolated outside the war zone, like those outside the prison, were blind to the undisguised truths within the high walls. Those who knew were mostly silenced; only a small number were hiding, a few were fleeing, and a tiny minority were preparing a counterattack. In

Chapter 5 of Volume 3, the Joint

Administration Building appeared remarkably safe, as the Demon Lord had already declared its abandonment of the stronghold and the adoption of guerrilla warfare. It wasn't the property of the demons, but regardless of possession, it remained shrouded in evil.

Before entering, Fei Yue meticulously scouted the surroundings, anticipating any hidden traps.

Upon entering the hall, she saw corpses strewn everywhere, the polished marble floor tiles serving as shared deathbeds.

As expected, everyone was dead.

The building was deathly silent, like a cold, chilling morgue. Hundreds of syringes lay scattered on the ground, their contents emptied, injected directly into living people. The demons' cruelty was appalling; after their rampage, they left behind only unspeakable evidence.

Not a single gun was on the ground; it was unclear whether the photography club had taken them, or if these people were simply unarmed civilians, inexplicably shot without their knowledge.

Hiizuki, seemingly used to such sights, didn't seem bothered, as did Ryua, who appeared equally nonchalant. The beautiful landlady and Yotsuba, however, could only suppress their fear and anxiety, heads down, hurrying on. Perhaps they were now filled with regret.

After circling the area without finding any supplies or the chemistry lab, Hiizuki led everyone to continue climbing.

The second floor was the professors' lounge, each room clean and tidy. The victims had all been dragged out and shot outside; it seemed even if there were weaknesses, the demons had ways of dealing with them.

The third floor—upon reaching the third floor, we were surrounded!

Gun barrels were pointed at us, and Feiyue immediately raised her gun to retaliate.

"It's alright, not demons." The people in the front row breathed a sigh of relief when they saw Feiyue's face clearly, and then put down their Glock 17s. "Sorry, your clothes were too distinctive, which is why we mistook you for someone else!"

"There are quite a few survivors here."

Feiyue wiped away her cold sweat, and I breathed a sigh of relief for her. If a shot had gone off accidentally and she had been mistakenly killed by her own people, she would have died a truly bitter death!

"Actually, not really." The other person said, "We were originally stationed at the stadium, but the number of people there had exceeded the capacity, and due to disagreements, we were deported. As you can see, eighty people is really an insignificant group."

"That's because they can't understand our ideals." It was Rose Girl!

"She" walked out from behind the crowd, carrying several homemade bombs.

“The minds of ordinary people are structured differently from ours. No matter how much we force them to evolve, it's hopeless. They just want to cower and wait until time runs out, while we—students of Sefer Academy—don't care about money. We just want to settle old scores and new grudges.”

“That’s right.” Scarlet Moon seemed to agree.

“It looks like you’re well-prepared.” The Rose Girl examined Scarlet Moon’s equipment. “But… only four people?”

Scarlet Moon briefly recounted what happened. Hearing about the demon throwing backpack bombs, the Rose Girl couldn’t help but feel indignant. “They’re still the same, so despicable! You can join us without worry. This time, the photography club won’t be as rampant as before!”

With shared interests and the same goal, the Rose Girl naturally accepted Scarlet Moon and her group.

After joining them, Ryua borrowed their chemistry lab, and the pretty landlady asked to assist with the team’s command. After considering for a while, Scarlet Moon decided to act alone, while Yotsuba became Ryua’s assistant, as the others were worried she would get lost.

"They're here!"

Having determined their positions, the demons arrived just in time to be vanquished. The sentries spotted the enemy through their binoculars and immediately reported loudly.

"Excellent! Everyone, get to your positions quickly!" the Rose Girl commanded. "Start guarding from the second floor! Those four staircases, even if the sky falls, you must defend them!"

"Yes, sir!"

It seemed the battle plan had been prepared in advance, and everyone knew exactly which direction to go. The pretty landlady followed a portion of the group down the right-rear staircase.

Yotsuba followed Ryua into the chemistry lab, and I immediately realized something was wrong.

If the door closed, wouldn't I, as a scout, be completely useless? No way! A man can't stand being constantly controlled; I had to find a way to break through! But… the people around hadn't all run away yet; if I showed myself, wouldn't I be condemning myself to death?

"Everyone, hold your breath!"

I knew that no amount of gods or Buddhas could compare to destiny. It seems I wasn't destined for a life of leisure. Look! The turning point has arrived!

Smoke bombs are indeed a great aid in siege warfare. Before the battle, the demons filled the second, third, and fourth floors with white smoke, attempting to suffocate everyone. However, Sefer's students were very determined; despite coughing and choking, they stubbornly held their posts.

"They're in!" a student observing from the window reported in real time, immediately receiving a shot and falling dead.

Feiyue immediately threw an olive-colored grenade out the window, the explosion sending dirt flying high up to the third floor.

This was hardly weakened! Anyone who survived the blast would have to be something other than human!

But being constantly controlled by Fenghua, my habitual concealment was understandable!

I quickly jumped out of the car, but the stairwell was packed, making it difficult to get down. I decided to find somewhere to hide for now. After the demons entered the building, gunfire erupted, their formation gradually disrupted, and as they dispersed, gaps appeared, revealing a private passageway. I dodged the long, tall legs through the smoke, leaping down the steps one by one.

It felt a bit like practicing soccer among dinosaurs, but instead of blocking or intercepting, they'd just stomp you to death.

Reaching the second floor, I surveyed the situation and chose to hide in the nearest professor's lounge. There were still many people outside, and the demons hadn't attacked yet; I'd wait a while longer.

Just then, a loud "bang!" echoed through the stairwell, followed by screams and a girl's piercing cry.

The beautiful landlady!

The thought of her possibly lying in a pool of blood made me disregard everything else and dash towards the right rear staircase at lightning speed.

Blood splattered everywhere. In the densely populated area, demons blasted a gaping hole with backpack bombs, but those not knocked down surged to the wound like white blood cells.

Those splattered with red paint disregarded the rules, getting up and continuing their attack. Noticing this, the demons didn't reprimand them, immediately switching to tranquilizer darts, taking down both the living and the dead with a single shot.

The beautiful landlady stood at the back of the group, watching in horror as Soren and Pluto slaughtered their companions without any resistance. The remaining three staircases were also under heavy attack from other demons. The severe shortage of manpower meant reinforcements were delayed.

Soon, only two of the twenty-one were left.

The pretty landlady covered her mouth, her right hand stiffly gripping the Glock 17, the barrel trembling so badly she couldn't aim. The other male student, still conscious, was in worse shape; a tranquilizer dart grazed his waist, half his body rapidly going numb. He could only lean against the wall, struggling to stay upright.

"Hehe, perhaps the young lady should lie down first!" Soren calmly

raised his gun and pulled the trigger. "Watch out!" In a split second, the male student dove to the side, the tranquilizer dart striking his back. He instantly lost consciousness and fell with the pretty landlady, the gun slipping from his hand and sliding to a potted purple orchid by the wall, stopping right in front of me.

"Big brother, watch out!" Pluto suddenly shoved Soren to his side.

It turned out that as the pretty landlady fell, the trigger of the Glock 17 had involuntarily been pulled, miraculously aiming at Soren's forehead. Pluto's shove caused the bullet to pass perfectly through the gap between them.

"Go to hell, why are you pushing me!" Caught off guard, Soren's temper flared. Ignoring the fact that the collision had narrowly saved his life, he shoved Pluto in return. Unexpectedly,

Pluto's brother reacted this way. He lost his balance, his back foot slipped, and he fell backward.

Behind him were more than twenty steps.

Soren's eyes widened. He desperately tried to grab Pluto's waving hand, but he was half a second too late. Fate played a cruel joke on him; he touched Pluto's fingernail, then slipped away.

"No—" With a desperate, regretful cry, Pluto collapsed onto the platform, instantly losing consciousness.

"Bang!"

A gunshot rang out, abruptly ending the scream.

"You…" Soren lowered his head, looking at the paint-stained mark on his chest, and slowly knelt on the steps, his dark eyes glaring fiercely at the beautiful landlady.

"No…" The beautiful landlady shook her head fearfully, slowly backing away.

"Damn woman... Even if you kill me, none of you will ever leave this building alive!" The dying demon's vicious curse turned into a final, mournful cry.

Suddenly, only one person remained in the stairwell. The beautiful landlady nervously holstered her gun and hurriedly ran up to the third floor.

That was close!

I lowered my gun and breathed a sigh of relief.

That last bullet was definitely worth it! If it weren't for Soren's push, if it weren't for his remaining brotherly affection, I really wouldn't know how to save the beautiful landlady!

But now, although we've won, the stairwell has been breached, and the demon will soon infiltrate. I think I'll stay on this floor; Scarlet Moon should be coming down soon!

"Ouch..."

Just as I was about to check the situation elsewhere, there was movement in the stairwell. I sneaked to the railing and saw Pluto clutching the back of his head, struggling to sit up, then shakily standing up.

Ah, right, he's not "dead"!

But even with this chance, to give this poor man another shot... I really couldn't bring myself to do it. Anyway, even if we let him wander around, he'll be eliminated by Scarlet Moon sooner or later.

I looked at Pluto; he was trying to lift his foot, seemingly checking for fractures or dislocations. Fortunately, everything seemed normal. He picked up the dropped tranquilizer gun and slowly stepped onto the stairs.

I quickly hid behind the potted plant.

"Hehe...hehehe..." As Pluto passed by Soren, his kneeling body, forehead resting on the floor, trembled with his shoulders, emitting a sharp laugh.

"I told you long ago, even if you kill me, things won't be so easy to resolve! Hehe...none of you will leave this building. Go, my dear brother! Kill them all, let the president know how powerful our Extreme Sports Club has become!"

"Enough talk." Completely unexpectedly, Pluto fired a shot directly at Soren.

"I have no interest in your nonsense. Dead men should shut up." Looking at Soren's motionless body, he burst into laughter, a stark contrast to his usual timidity, but immediately replaced by a pained expression: "Thanks to your righteous act, I'm now in pain all over!"

He swayed, gripping the handrail to steady himself, and staggered towards the third floor.

What...what happened?

I was sweating profusely, watching his suddenly transformed back, and...why did I feel a sense of unease, like letting a tiger return to the mountains?

The ensuing explosions didn't give me much time to think. A familiar fiery red figure darted past me. I stretched and smiled.

Alright, time to get to work.

The students slowly retreated to the third floor, leaving the second floor as the domain of the demons. Following the pattern of the teaching building, I grabbed a piece of chalk, seized a moment in the Scarlet Moon Research Lab, and ran ahead of her. Using the old method, I began recording the locations of the demons that were breaking through each defense line.

First, in a professor's lounge, I found Di Luo and Xi Rui, who were enjoying afternoon tea.

"This is really... so delicious!" Xi Rui was almost moved to tears.

"This tea is terrible." Di Luo's reaction was the complete opposite. "Plans green tea is best enjoyed within a week of its production, and should be consumed within fourteen days at the latest. Today is already the fifteenth day. No matter how poor these professors are, there should be a limit!"

Xi Rui didn't care about his words at all, savoring the high-end tea that he could probably never afford in his lifetime.

"I don't understand why you like this inferior tea so much." Di Luo picked up his teacup and took another sip, this time his brows furrowed even more deeply.

"It tastes really good!"

Seeing Xi Rui's completely uncooperative behavior, Di Luo couldn't help but raise an eyebrow: "You really like it that much?"

"Yeah!"

"If you like this kind of low-grade stuff..." Suddenly meeting Xi Rui's unusually bright eyes, Di Luo couldn't help but break out in a cold sweat. "In the future, you should strive to achieve something great."

"Stingy..."

"The definition of stingy is not giving away a single penny, let alone being interest-free."

"..."

Sigh, with their weakness in someone else's hands, even if they were to have a verbal battle, it would be a tragic one-sided victory!

After listening to their conversation, Xi Rui was defeated as always. I quietly left the location map outside the door and continued forward.

After walking around once and drawing seven or eight maps, the half-used chalk in my hand was almost used up. I twisted my sore right hand, thinking that Fei Yue had added equipment and changed to a powerful weapon, defeating the demon shouldn't be too difficult, so I went around a second time, wanting to catch up with her from behind.

Perhaps due to the incident in the teaching building, the demons had become more wary; the corridors were littered with spent shell casings, but there wasn't a single corpse. Passing the professor's lounge where Di Luo and Xi Rui were found, it was neat and clean, everything back in its place, showing no signs of damage or disorder after the fight.

This was absolutely impossible! Even if they pretended to be unprepared, they couldn't have escaped Fei Yue's grasp so easily!

The location map drawn on the ground had been erased, indicating Fei Yue had received the message. Even if Di Luo could escape, Xi Rui… I didn't think he had the strength.

Even if the absence of corpses was because the two hadn't met, how could the

spent shell casings on the ground be explained? Just as I was racking my brains, suddenly, a violent tremor shook the ground like an earthquake, and the windows rattled against the frames. I rushed to the noisy left-side staircase to see what was happening, only to see Fei Yue hurriedly pulling the beautiful landlady downstairs, while the demons who should have been on the second floor were chasing them down from the third floor.

From the third floor?!

I couldn't believe my eyes!

But the truth was undeniable: thanks to the liquid bomb concocted by Ryua, Hiizuki and the pretty landlady had finally driven the demons out of bullet range and escaped the administration building, heading towards the swimming pool.

I tried to catch up with them, but no matter how hard I tried, my short stature made it impossible!

Damn it! Why wasn't my transformation timer up yet?!

I looked at my ridiculous figure, cursing under my breath, until finally, I lost all strength and slumped to the ground.

Oh well, what's the point of trying so hard? I couldn't even win against nine out of eighty-four, what chance did I have against seven? If I couldn't stand it, I couldn't stand it, at most we'd never see each other again after graduation! Why fight so hard, it's just asking for trouble!

It's just a game, it's not like losing ruins my life. Taking it so seriously, like a child, it's laughable! Anyway, there are seven of them... seven of them?

I counted on my fingers. Something was wrong. There were eleven demons participating in the game. B and Su Fei were dead in the teaching building, and Soren died in the stairwell on the left front side. There should be eight demons still alive. Where was the last one?

"Don't touch me with your filthy hands!"

A sharp voice came from the third floor. I immediately rushed upstairs.

"Let me go!" In the chemistry lab, Rose Girl struggled desperately.

"You lost again." The paparazzi held her hands tightly, smiling calmly. "What a pity. I gave you such a good opportunity, but you still couldn't win. Oh well, a failure is a failure."

"I'm going to kill you!"

"No problem, but we'll discuss the method when you beat me." A gunshot rang out, and Rose Girl fell to the ground. Silence

replaced the expected smell of gunpowder.

Looking at the body on the ground, no longer resisting, the paparazzi sighed softly: "Goodbye, Flower."

He walked to the window, made a few gestures towards the demons in the distance, and then slowly left.

I sat on the floor, my mind blank, even forgetting to look at Yotsuba and Ryua.

The voyeur's words, like an endlessly playing cassette tape, kept echoing in my ears.

"Efforts futile, those who fail still fail…efforts futile…those who fail still fail…fail still fail…"

A vague image of a woman in her forties, her face indistinct, wearing a tacky black suit, holding textbooks and a pointer, spoke smugly and sarcasticly: "...Look at the lousy grades you got! You failed twice after retaking the exam, were you even studying?…Do you know we live in a global village now? English is important, you know? You know!…"

"Teacher, please, I really did study hard!"

"Studying but not internalizing it is the same as not studying at all! Even if you passed, it wouldn't matter…it's still the same, you fail, you're stuck with this subject…fail…fail…fail

…fail… "

Right, I remember now.

Because I was sentenced to death that day, I was in a terrible mood. I also had a small argument with my family, and all my pent-up emotions boiled over. Desperate to anger my parents, I deliberately grabbed the keys, floored the gas pedal, and rode my bike to a nearby convenience store to buy a drink to calm my temper. Little did I know, I would never return.

At that moment, I used the wrong method, and it cost me my life.

If time could turn back, if I had knelt down and kowtowed to my teacher—even if not sincerely—I would have clung to her leg and begged her with all my might; if I had suppressed my anger, gritted my teeth, let my parents beat me, and then faked tears while confessing and swearing that I would study harder next time; if I had ridden slower, or not broken the habits I had cultivated since childhood, and consistently obeyed traffic rules…

If I had done even one of these things, wouldn't I have survived?

"...Just stay the same, failing is failing, you're failing this subject forever…failing forever…failing forever…"

I hate the person who said those words!

However, if I hadn't given up on myself so quickly and refused to control my temper, how could things have turned out the way they did?

The person to blame is actually myself.

In many aspects, I chose the worst path, leading to the worst outcome.

Every step offered an opportunity for change; it all depended on myself.

Therefore, I am the one who killed myself.

This realization is painful, but it's the real answer.

Why did I have to hear this now?

Why did it have to come to mind now?

Is it punishment for saying I wanted to give up?

What good would it do if I didn't give up? I'm already dead!

"I have nowhere to go."

"Please, just take me in for three months, I promise I won't cause you any trouble."

"...Just give me a place to stay."

"Whatever!"

I thought of my beautiful landlady.

I remembered our first conversation.

Looking back on the past month, it's been more wonderful than any other time I've ever lived, and it all started after I met her.

I want to save her!

Even if it's not for myself, even if it's not because she's my landlady, I want to save her!

Because I don't want to be taken advantage of, because she doesn't want to die.

Because I gave up, but she didn't.

I must save her!

If I had known I would die then, I definitely wouldn't have rushed to accelerate; but if I had known I would meet her after I died, maybe I would have chosen the latter.

Who knows…

The only certainty is that if that teacher were standing in front of me right now—

I would punch him without hesitation!

The swimming pool wasn't much to see; it was too stuffy, and the only places to play hide-and-seek were the men's and women's restrooms and washrooms. The real focus was the gymnasium.

Numerous dead men, wearing life jackets, floated on the crimson pool of blood. Every jacuzzi was soaked in red, and many had also perished in the washrooms. The participants in the restrooms were either slumped on the toilets or pretending to drown in the dry sinks.

Seeing this, one can't help but admire the thrift of the paparazzi; all the deceased were fully clothed because the red paint had smeared all over their skin.

I suspect that besides this crimson paint, the bullets contained trace amounts of contact sedatives, causing the participants to fall into a brief coma upon being shot.

And the reason they remained unconscious, based on irresponsible speculation, is most likely because the paparazzi, to avoid trouble, secretly injected their already deceased warriors with fast-acting sedatives.

It's hard to say whether the answer is right or wrong, but in any case, none of the people sleeping with their eyes closed here were faking it.

I found them in the last women's bathroom stall.

Fortunately, they were still alive. I hid in the next stall and eavesdropped on their conversation.

"Xiao Cheng, put this on." A rustling sound, it seemed to be Fei Yue taking off her bulletproof vest.

"No need, you can still..."

"Listen to me, I think the reason the demons haven't killed us is because there's not enough time. Now is a good opportunity to pursue them. I want you to stay here and protect yourself. Even if I can't wipe them out on my own, you have to try your best to hold out until time runs out. When we get the reward, we'll go out for a big meal with the others and treat ourselves!"

"Hmm..."

"So... could you exchange clothes with me? It's really inconvenient to wear like this..."

Hearing this, I knew there was no need to stay any longer. The next destination was definitely the gymnasium!

Although I had just said I was going to save the pretty landlady, since the demons had changed their Plan B, helping Fei Yue was also indirectly helping the pretty landlady!

As I left the indoor swimming pool for the gymnasium, I glanced casually at the field. The dark red, almost black, half-masted flag hung limply on the flagpole, mourning its lifeless shell; the once vibrant grass, improperly nourished by chemical solutions, had become listless. Besides the thought that "human adaptability is truly remarkable," I was at a loss for words to describe my numbness.

Between the two buildings, a straight, covered corridor provided both convenience and concealment. Nevertheless, I chose to crawl beneath the cigar blossoms, for the devilish silhouette reflected in the second-floor window was intently guarding this path, and the shadow under the candlestick was always particularly dark.

To say intently guarding might be an exaggeration. Before crawling, I spent several seconds observing his movements—he wasn't just focused on this corridor; the field and the entire plaza from the administration building to the central garden were also within his surveillance range. To effectively monitor, his binoculars had to continuously move horizontally back and forth at 180 degrees, like a searchlight in a prison.

Having mastered a consistent speed and rhythm, the blind spot was almost immediately exposed. I boldly and cautiously moved silently right under his nose; when he shifted his gaze, I instantly accelerated with all my might, but when my vision swept over this area, I froze like a wooden puppet, motionless.

From this vantage point, it was difficult to spot anything intentionally moving or stopping; at this height, my existence seemed even smaller. Climbing and stopping intermittently, I soon passed through the area.

During this time, I unexpectedly saw four matchstick-sized dark figures run around the deserted tennis court and into the central garden. A moment later, gunshots rang out, and blood mist filled the garden.

So, there were only four demons remaining in the gymnasium.

Whatever, no matter how many, I had to find out their distribution before Scarlet Moon arrived.

Peeking through the door, I could see Xi Rui standing by the second-floor window, monitoring, while C was busy moving the "corpses" of the basketball club and two coaches to clear a passageway. On the sidelines and in the second-floor stands, many bewildered spectators had also died. While he was busy working and didn't have time to look this way, I dashed down the steps by the door.

A was working out in the gym, relentlessly pursuing muscle perfection, while Shi Jing was inspecting various places on the second basement floor.

A very lax layout.

Back outside the stadium, I picked up a piece of dirt and started drawing a simple floor plan under the eaves where the demon wouldn't be able to see it directly.

First, I drew a large square to represent the stadium, then cut a rectangle occupying three-fifths of the area to represent the above-ground part of the stadium, and divided the rest into smaller rectangles each occupying one-fifth of the total area to represent the first and second basement floors. Finally, I used four small stones to mark the demon's location. The secret military sketch that leaked military intelligence was complete.

Having done what I could to help, Fei Yue, now dressed in ordinary civilian clothes, appeared at the other end of the corridor with a backpack. I immediately hid under the cigar blossoms. She rushed over, heading straight for the gymnasium. Seeing the clay painting on the ground, she stopped to study it.

In the time it took to exhale a few breaths, a knowing look on her face, she kicked the painting aside, gripping her Glock 17 tightly to her chest.

"Just wait and see what happens! Our anger won't be so easily appeased!" Before the words were even finished, she had already stormed into the gymnasium.

"Bang!"

"Bang!"

Two shots rang out, and two objects fell to the ground.

The danger on the ground was gone. I calmly stood up from the flowerbed and went around to the other side of the small door to witness the outcome.

Sure enough, the two demons had been killed, but A, who was on the basement floor, reacted quickly. Upon hearing the gunshots, she immediately rushed to the stairwell, and soon after, Shi Jing joined the gunfight.

The narrow, unprotected stairwell was easy to defend but difficult to attack. Paintballs probed and threatened each other, only accelerating the repainting of the walls.

At that moment, another unexpected event occurred! The pile of corpses on the sidelines suddenly trembled. Feiyue immediately grabbed a second gun with her left hand, using it to both restrain the demons' advance and move towards the angle formed by the door and the wall to avoid being ambushed by someone whose allegiance was unclear.

In the blink of an eye, the person appeared, still holding two guns.

"It's you!" Feiyue breathed a sigh of relief and stepped out from behind the door.

"Oh, so it's the Goddess of Revenge! I was just wondering who was so brave, taking down two people in one go!" The disheveled man took off his blood-stained floral shirt and suit trousers. "Now that two million is in the bag, big sister, why don't we fight side-by-side? More people means more help, we can definitely become a good team!"

"No." Feiyue fired another burst of bullets at the two demons. "Besides hiding and getting killed, I don't see any strength in you."

"Don't think I can't hear your mockery. I just fought eight demons single-handedly. It's normal to lose." Despite it not being something to be proud of, the disheveled man still argued.

"I think we should forget it. Even if I were willing, do you have a second life?" Fei Yue looked at him with apparent pity.

"Ah! My underwear is stained too!" The dejected man looked down and then prepared to remove his last piece of clothing.

"What are you doing! Don't take it off!...No, I should blush first...but...damn it, whatever, Feng Hua isn't here anyway, the most important thing now is..." Fei Yue was instantly caught in a mental struggle. It seemed that Feng Hua's training had a remarkable effect on influencing the decision-makers.

"What are you saying, big sister?"

"I told you not to take it off!" glock17 pointed at him fiercely.

"What does it matter? I'm not ashamed at all, why are you ashamed for me? Just treat this like a nudist camp, unless you're going to have any wild thoughts about my naked body. Of course, I don't object to you violating me..."

"Don't take it off!" Fei Yue's gaze turned icy as she pointed at the decadent man's gun, moving it from his brow down to his groin. She said coldly, "I'm not afraid to see men naked, but I can't go against normal education. If you insist on taking it off, find something to cover yourself. Otherwise, I'll castrate you first, then kill you!"

"Okay... I'll do as you say, big sister, don't be impulsive!" Before pulling the trigger halfway, the decadent man couldn't help but lose his nerve.

"A very reasonable decision." Fei Yue put away her gun, turned her back, and focused on fighting the demon.

The decadent man took off his underwear and hurriedly picked up a hat to cover his genitals.

"Damn it, this is so awkward!" he cursed.

"Just leave it like that," Fei Yue ordered.

"Yes..." The dejected man outwardly complied, but behind Fei Yue's back, he silently mouthed a string of vulgarities, the common words of which didn't seem unfamiliar to me. After

venting his anger, the dejected man casually returned to his normal tone, saying, "Hey, big sister, it's no use if we can't hit them. We can't afford to play a war of attrition. Let's lure them to the garden! I just saw four of them run in there. If we don't try to hold them off, they'll soon run past the activity center and the teaching building. Chasing them like this will exhaust us!"

"But if they find out we're behind them, then things might change." Fei Yue picked up her backpack and said, "Alright, let's be the bait."

Hearing this, I immediately took off running, "clattering" as I turned the nearest corner.

The gunfire continued. Fei Yue and the dejected man slowly retreated from the gymnasium, back to back, while the demon relentlessly climbed the stairs.

The dejected man patted his chest, then reached for his empty legs, suddenly exclaiming angrily, "Damn it, I forgot I'm out of cigarettes!"

"You should quit too." Feiyue threw down her empty gun, took another Glock 17 from her bag, and then crouched low as she ran quickly towards the garden. "The smell of cigarettes will only kill people."

"Hey, wait for me!" the dejected man yelled, firing a few shots into the gymnasium to suppress the demon behind cover, then following Feiyue's retreat.

"Tch, it's really chilly down there!"

the demon immediately chased after them.

"Those two ran towards the garden!" the demon A shouted.

"Levi, don't you find it strange? That woman seemed to know our defenses all along," Shi Jing said.

"Who knows? I only know that if I don't deal with them, I'll get yelled at to death by the vice president!"

"That's true."

The two followed behind, and after they left, the gymnasium became a veritable ghost town.

Only after everyone had run away did it finally come to my turn. I know I'm short and have short legs, so I'm not fast, and I started much later than everyone else. But if Scarlet Moon and the颓废男 (颓废男 is a derogatory term for a person with a weak constitution) can hold out until I arrive, I can use my ability to pass through walls to directly report the demon's location. The

consequence of poor stamina is that by the time I reach the garden, I'll practically be waiting for my master to chant the Rebirth Mantra for me. Luckily, I'm already out of breath.

The gunfight was intense. Scarlet Moon and the颓废男 were pinned down in the maze by the heavy firepower, only able to push each other back to a certain distance, unable to move.

"I'm out of grenades," Scarlet Moon said, her voice barely audible.

"Do you have any extra guns? Give me a few, let's split up," the颓废男 said, biting his finger.

“Well, it might not be better than the current situation, but at least it will disperse their forces.” Fei Yue pursed her lips, tossed him two guns, and said, “Don’t die too soon.”

“Don’t worry, I don’t care if I throw the demons I dragged away back to you, but I still want to live and collect my money, and the more the better.” The decadent man licked his lower lip, a greedy smile playing on his lips, and nimbly rolled to the side, breaking through the encirclement amidst a hail of paintballs.

“That’s the best guarantee.” Fei Yue smiled, watching the decadent man disappear around the corner. “I can’t fall behind either…” she said softly, putting down her backpack, taking out the remaining usable guns, and emptying the 9mm bullets from the magazines one by one.

It seemed she wanted to rely on her agility to decide the outcome, so she was trying to remove as much unnecessary weight as possible.

Nearly half of the hordes of demons had been lured away, but that didn’t mean the three-on-one situation would be any easier. To defeat multiple opponents, this was the only way.

"You'll get your comeuppance soon enough!"

I clearly saw the flames burning in her clear eyes. Gripping her dual pistols, she recklessly rushed out of her original spot, sprinting in the opposite direction from the dejected man. The demons, like hungry crows, were drawn to the slender, beautiful woman's body and swarmed towards her.

My options were clear: stick close to one of them and be a silent guardian. This choice wasn't difficult; any man would know who to choose to prove his sexual orientation was normal.

So, first…

I grabbed a branch and began climbing the tree wall.

I needed to determine the exact direction of Crimson Moon's movement before I could approach. However, before I'd even completed a third of the climb, a gust of wind blew me halfway up. The pull on the back of my neck confirmed someone had lifted me up. Having accumulated some experience in crisis response, I immediately let my hands drop, my legs buckled, and I tilted my head to one side, sticking out my tongue, feigning death.

"On a picnic here?" A polite, friendly voice.

Someone I know? No need to pretend then.

“It’s a hike.” I opened my eyes; he was still dressed in black.

“It is indeed very far. If you keep going out like this, taking you back will be a hassle. Why don’t you just stay at the community center permanently?” the boy in black said.

“I swear this can only be classified as extremely rare. Aren’t you…aren’t you supposed to be dressed as the devil too?” I quickly changed the subject.

“Unfortunately, I’m not participating in this fun competition; my other role is as an observer.”

“Can’t interfere in the game?”

“It’s not that I can’t, it’s that I don’t want to. The exact opposite of you,” he said. “The mascot is a symbol of spirit; there’s no need for me to go all out to help. Let the club members handle the conquest!”

“Even the vice president is personally leading the charge; how can I just stand by and do nothing?” I argued with him, even though at that moment I didn’t really want to help this side.

“Vice president, in other words, a senior member, also considered a member.”

He pulled me into his arms. “But right now, I don’t want to argue with you about these things. You’re part of the extreme sports club and also a member of the girls’ dormitory, so you need to be more careful in your actions. Fortunately, your position in our club is still delicate, so you won’t be too harshly criticized. During this time until the end, just stay with me, okay?”

I listened, sweating profusely. He had observed far more than I knew. I couldn’t resist; I could only heed his hints and not delve too deeply.
