The Corpse Clothes of the Green Bag [Complete] - 23

Chapter 294

A large bonfire was lit on the rocky beach of the Nujiang River Valley, crackling with the occasional popping of wood.

"Onizuka, get some good food tonight," Kurosawa said meaningfully.

Onizuka gave a strange smile, then spoke a few words in broken Japanese to the old ghost.

The old ghost also smiled, licked his lips with his long tongue, and happily carried Kozuka's corpse to the water's edge. He pulled off his pants and carefully washed the naked Kozuka's body, especially removing the feces and mucus from his abdomen. Then, he inserted a sharp wooden stick through Kozuka's anus and out of his mouth, and placed the body over the bonfire to roast slowly. Kozuka's body was quite fatty, and the melting fat sizzled, filling the air with the aroma of freshly roasted meat.

Kurosawa watched silently with a smile.

"Mr. Kurosawa, what do we do? I didn't expect Hansheng to have accomplices," Huang Jianguo said anxiously, his eyes lowered.

"Do you know where these people came from? What are they doing in the Burmese rainforest with guns?" Kurosawa asked, his face grim and his brow furrowed.

Onizuka walked over and said, "They're lieutenant colonels from the Chinese Expeditionary Force, working in the Hukawng Valley."

"The Hukawng Valley? Du Yuming's army was defeated there, losing tens of thousands of men. The Imperial Army also lost over 20,000 men in the Hukawng Valley. That was over thirty years ago." Kurosawa asked , puzzled.

"Lieutenant Colonel Wu said he's looking for the spirits of the dead from his hometown," Onizuka explained.

"Oh, so they just happened to meet Han Sheng. Hmm, I think this trip to Burma was a last-minute decision. Why would Han Sheng have arranged for help beforehand? Huang Jianguo, what do you think Han Sheng's plan will be?" Kurosawa asked.

Huang Jianguo quickly put on a smile and said, "Han Sheng and the old ancestor are determined not to leave Lieutenant Colonel Wu and the others. It's safer with more people. I guess they'll be heading to the Savage Mountain and won't be separated for now."

Kurosawa nodded and instructed, "Onizuka, we can follow them from a distance. In this primeval rainforest, they'll eventually let their guard down, and we'll still have a chance to strike."

"Yes, it's a rainforest; we can't travel at night. We'll set off tomorrow morning," Onizuka agreed.

The old ghost by the campfire grinned, revealing pink gums, and plucked off Kozuka's golden-brown roasted penis, stuffing it into his mouth. After chewing it a few times, he swallowed it and shouted, "The roasted meat is done!"

Huang Jianguo was stunned... The impeccably dressed Mr. Kurosawa stepped forward, twisted his hands, and ripped Kozuka's head off completely. Then, holding the charred head in his left hand, he gouged out a large, dark red eyeball with his right index finger and stuffed it into his mouth... "Perfectly cooked," Kurosawa praised, then gouged out the other eye and handed it to Huang Jianguo. "Jianguo-kun, this is truly a delicious treat."

Huang Jianguo stared at the large, lifeless eye lying in Kurosawa's palm, his stomach churning with nausea, and he vomited.

Onizuka and the old ghost both laughed, each breaking off an arm from the roasted corpse and devouring it.

“Jian Guo, you’ll never know how delicious human flesh is until you try it. The idea of ‘not eating one’s own kind’ is wrong. Think about it, if this concept of humanity were to change, then the world’s protein supply would be basically solved, and famine in Africa would be a thing of the past.” As Kurosawa spoke, he opened his mouth and bit Kozuka’s lips.

Huang Jianguo trembled all over, his eyes fixed on the head in Kurosawa’s hand, speechless with astonishment.

"And speaking of your China, why did the Imperial Army launch the 'September 18 Incident' and the 'Marco Polo Bridge Incident' back then? It was because the lives of your Chinese people were too impoverished. People were extremely deficient in protein and fat, and generally suffered from malnutrition, which is why they were called 'the Sick Man of East Asia.' The Japanese came to save them, to force them to change the outdated concept of 'not eating one's own kind' under the Imperial Army's coercion, and to fully consume human protein and fat. That would greatly improve the physical fitness of the Han people, remove the label of 'the Sick Man of East Asia,' and allow them to stand tall among the nations of the world." Kurosawa spoke eloquently, and with a "snap," he spat out a molar from Kozuka.

Huang Jianguo seemed numb, listening blankly to Mr. Kurosawa's long-winded discourse.

"Try this, it's very tender." Kurosawa forcefully tore off a piece of Kozuka's crimson upper gum and stuffed it directly into Huang Jianguo's mouth, with several front teeth still attached to the gum.

Huang Jianguo chewed mechanically, and after being hungry for more than a day, he slowly began to taste the strange aroma of meat between his teeth. A conditioned reflex triggered a frenzied instinct in his stomach… Kurosawa watched with satisfaction as Huang Jianguo's expression changed, then snapped off Kozuka's tongue and handed it to Huang Jianguo.

Huang Jianguo spat out his front teeth, took the tongue covered in yellow coating, and took a bite. "Wow, it's really delicious!" he exclaimed in surprise.

After finishing his tongue, Huang Jianguo ran to the campfire, forcefully pried off half of Kozuka's buttocks, and bit down hard on the plump, tender part... Kurosawa walked over, patted Huang Jianguo's shoulder, and said with a satisfied smile, "Jianguo-kun, you are now a member of our sect."

Huang Jianguo swallowed a mouthful of fatty buttock meat and asked blankly, "A member of the sect?"

"That's right, the Corpse-Cutting Sect." Kurosawa tore off a charred ear, carefully picked up a piece of burnt earwax with his fingernail, and threw it into his mouth. With a few crisp "crunches," he smacked his lips in satisfaction and then said.

"You, Mr. Kurosawa, are a member of the Corpse-Cutting Sect?" Huang Jianguo asked in surprise.

"Mr. Kurosawa, the real leader behind the Corpse-Cutting Sect is..." Onizuka said mysteriously in a low voice while nibbling on Kozuka's fingers.

Kurosawa's expression became solemn, and he said seriously, "Jianguo-kun, from today's ceremony onwards, you have officially joined our Corpse-Cutting Sect."

"What ceremony?" Huang Jianguo asked, puzzled.

“Eating meat, of course. The initiation ceremony of the Corpse-Cutting Cult is to eat the flesh of our own members. Stewing or grilling is fine. Considering you're Chinese, you might not be used to meat slices and sushi. Otherwise, Kozuka's fair and tender flesh would be perfect for eating raw,” Kurosawa explained.

Huang Jianguo was dumbfounded upon hearing this, his hand holding half of Kozuka's buttocks trembling uncontrollably.

Kurosawa said sternly, “Jianguo-kun, once you join my cult, you must never betray it for life. Otherwise, you will be eaten, understand? Alright, I now appoint you as the first head of the Chinese Hall of the Japanese Corpse-Cutting Cult, Onizuka. Starting tonight, you will teach him your skills.”

“Yes,” Onizuka replied.

“What skills?” Huang Jianguo asked tremblingly.

“Mine. First, I'll teach you how to absorb corpse energy. Once you're proficient, practice on graves,” Onizuka said with a sinister smile.

Huang Jianguo was shocked, his face turning deathly pale.

“Head of Hall Huang, you are incredibly clever, something our cult doesn't have. One day, your skills will surpass mine,” Onizuka said sincerely.

"Lord Jianguo, we will use all the power of our sect to help you ascend to the Dragon Court. In the future, the entire Central Plains will belong to our Corpse-Slaying Sect, hahaha..." Heize laughed maniacally.

Huang Jianguo slowly regained his composure and said quietly, "Is the Chief also a member of the Corpse-Slaying Sect?"

"No," Heize replied.

"I want to eliminate... no, devour him, to avenge the insult he inflicted upon me," Huang Jianguo said through gritted teeth.

"No problem, you practice diligently, and you will personally take action when the time comes," Heize said.

Huang Jianguo sighed and asked, "Forget it, is there any quick way to practice? I want to take revenge on them one by one in the future!"

"Quick way? There is, it depends on fate," Guizuka said thoughtfully.

Kurosawa nodded, proudly cradling Kozuka's head, and went to continue enjoying his meal.

Huang Jianguo stood by the Nu River, gazing at the deep night sky, muttering, "Revenge."

Chapter 295

The campfire crackled and popped, fueled by the mixture of oil and moisture in the wood. Han Sheng stared at the burning flames, lost in thought.

"Brother Han Sheng, only the kappa's sense of smell can find the bald old woman, and then retrieve the spirits of the Wu family members. Think of a way to cure the kappa's corpse poison," Lu Taiguan pleaded.

Han Sheng raised his head, pondering, "The Kappa is a thousand-year-old evil creature of the water. The Corpse Cloth will kill it. I'm considering that if I want to save it, I need Mingyue's incantation magic to lend me a hand to ensure success."

Lu Taiguan was overjoyed and hurriedly pleaded with Mingyue, "Miss Mingyue, please help me."

"Wife, quickly save my life!" the Kappa pleaded from within its stiff body.

"Who's your wife? Don't think such nonsense," Mingyue's mind replied with disgust.

"Master agreed, and he even promised to officiate the wedding!" the Kappa said, extremely aggrieved.

"I didn't agree!" Mingyue retorted angrily.

Waaah… the Kappa seemed to have its pride wounded and began to sob sadly.

Mingyue ignored it and went straight to Hansheng, saying, "Hansheng, tell me, how can I help you?"

Hansheng replied, "We need a mammal now. I'll use the corpse shroud to expel the poison from the kappa. You use the 'Substituting a Plum for a Peach' technique from the Zhuyou Divine Skill to transfer the corpse energy from the kappa's body to an animal, and the poison will be cured."

Upon hearing this, Lu Taiguan ordered, "You few, quickly go into the forest and catch a mammal."

"I'll go with them. Be careful not to fire," Hansheng said.

"Yes," the four bodyguards responded, each taking out a flashlight from their backpacks and following Hansheng into the depths

of the dense forest. In the primeval tropical rainforests of Southeast Asia, besides tall trees, vines and epiphytes also grow exceptionally densely. The animal species are rich and diverse. Large mammals such as Asian elephants, elk, lions, and clouded leopards roam the ground. Cold-blooded animals are mostly pythons, while the mammals living in the upper canopy are mostly apes.

"Wait!" one of the bodyguards in front whispered a warning.

Two green eyes peeked out from the dark jungle. The group shone their flashlights in the light and saw a huge Bengal tiger staring intently at them… The bodyguard in front stopped, trembling, his pistol quivering slightly.

"Mr. Hansheng, what do we do?" a bodyguard behind him whispered in his ear.

Hansheng looked at the striped tiger and shook his head. "No, tigers are too ferocious. We can't control it."

The group retreated cautiously. Fortunately, the tiger didn't seem to intend to attack. After retreating a short distance, they changed direction and continued their search.

It was a narrow jungle path trodden by wild animals. The bodyguards, flashlights in one hand and guns in the other, moved forward with extreme tension.

The bodyguard at the front of the group was extremely alert, his eyes scanning the area closely following the beam of the flashlight.

With a muffled thud, a round, dark shape struck the bodyguard on the head. He fell to the ground with a thud, his flashlight tossed aside. Everyone was shocked and shone their flashlights on him. Blood streamed from his forehead, his scalp a milky yellow mess, and a pungent stench of cheese, onions, and turpentine filled the air—it smelled like cat feces.

"Thud!" Another blow followed, and the head bodyguard behind him groaned and collapsed.

"Danger! Enemies above!" The third bodyguard managed to warn them before he too was struck hard on the head and fell unconscious.

Startled, Han Sheng activated his "Fly Eye" ability, watching as an oval-shaped sphere slowly flew towards his head... The flashlight beam shone on it, revealing a golden object with sharp, pointed edges. Han Sheng easily dodged it. Looking up, he saw a gibbon perched high in a tree branch, its yellow fur, long, snow-white eyebrows, and angry glare. It held a durian high in its hand, about to smash it down again. In

a flash, Han Sheng mentally relaxed his entire body, his feet leaving the ground as he rose upwards, unleashing his Hysteria Divine Skill. When he was more than two meters away from the gibbon, he suddenly let out a soft shout, his body instantly expanding, grabbing the gibbon by the scruff of its neck. Han Sheng had always succeeded in subduing his big yellow dog, Benben, by grabbing its scruff when he was a child.

Although Han Sheng's Hysteria Divine Skill wasn't perfect, subduing this gibbon was effortless. Once on the ground, the gibbon was completely docile.

The only conscious bodyguard stamped his feet anxiously, repeatedly saying, "What should we do?"

Han Sheng said to the bodyguard, "You grab this gibbon, let me check their injuries."

The three bodyguards had only been knocked unconscious by the durian fruit, and the bloodstains on their foreheads were only superficial wounds. Han Sheng felt in his pocket; he didn't have his silver needles with him. What to do? He thought of durian.

Durian belongs to the Ebenaceae family and is known as the "King of Tropical Fruits." The durian tree is also the tallest fruit tree in the tropics, with its trunk reaching 25 to 40 meters in height. The Compendium of Materia Medica states that it is "sweet and warm in nature, non-toxic, and mainly treats acute dysentery and coldness in the heart and abdomen. However, those who are afraid of its smell will feel nauseous and awaken when they smell it. Eating too much of it is very hot, so mangosteen can be used to counteract it." Han

Sheng smiled and grabbed a handful of yellowish, gooey durian flesh from the ground, stuffing it into one of the bodyguards' mouths. He also smeared a little on his nostrils. The bodyguard sneezed several times and woke up.

The second bodyguard was also awakened by the unique stench of durian. Only the head bodyguard remained unconscious, even with his mouth full. Han Sheng found this rather strange.

"The boss loves durian the most. He can eat four or five at a time." "The bodyguard behind him said with a smile.

Han Sheng turned around and saw that the gibbon had already been handcuffed.

Han Sheng and the others carried the head bodyguard and escorted the gibbon back to the camp.

The kappa looked at the gibbon with extremely terrified eyes... The "Record of the Netherworld" in the "Book of Sui" by Liu Yiqing of the Southern Song Dynasty records that there were many "kappa" in the rivers of the Central Plains at that time. They were called "water insects", also known as "insect children" or "water spirits". They were naked humanoids of varying sizes, with eyes, ears, nose, tongue and lips. They wore a basin on their heads, which could hold three to five feet of water. They were only brave when they were in water, and had no strength when they were out of water. Moreover, it was specifically mentioned that the kappa's greatest nemesis was the mountain ape.

The mountain ape is an ancient ape, and it and the kappa are both strange creatures that have been inherited from ancient times. According to archaeologists, the mountain ape and the kappa are now extinct.

"I'm afraid..." the kappa sent a trembling thought to Mingyue.

"Afraid of what?" “Mingyue was puzzled.

“Mountain ape,” the kappa told her.

“Mr. Lu, the kappa said it’s afraid of mountain apes,” Mingyue said to Lu Taiguan.

“This isn’t a mountain ape, it’s just an ordinary gibbon. These white-browed gibbons only exist in the tropical rainforests of the Nujiang Grand Canyon in Gaoligong Mountain. This one has golden fur, pure white eyebrows, a broad and light face, and its two eyebrows don’t connect. It’s a young female gibbon, and it might resemble the mountain apes of the past,” Lu Taiguan explained, glancing at the kappa and thinking that the kappa might have inherited a fear of apes.

Han Life Bodyguard placed the gibbon’s back against the kappa’s armored spine, then nodded to Mingyue and said, “We can begin.”

Mingyue gently bit her tongue, spitting out a mouthful of blood mist onto the faces of the kappa and the gibbon. Then, she chanted the fifth move of the Eighteen Forms of the Zhu You Divine Skill, "Transplanting Flowers and Grafting Trees."

Han Sheng, holding the Corpse Cloth, swept it through the air towards the kappa. The kappa trembled as the corpse poison within it was forced by the Corpse Cloth to instantly transfer to the gibbon. The kappa's body softened, while the gibbon instantly stiffened. The

handcuffed gibbon stared at Han Sheng with terrified eyes… Han Sheng smiled slightly at it and said, "Monkeys aren't evil creatures; the Corpse Cloth won't harm you." With that, he draped the Corpse Cloth over the gibbon. A series of static crackling sounds accompanied by flashes of white light filled the air, and a burnt smell permeated the atmosphere. The white-browed gibbon's body immediately went limp.

"Uncuff its handcuffs," Han Sheng said, putting on the Corpse Cloth.

The white-browed gibbon was released from its restraints and looked at Han Sheng with grateful eyes.

Han Sheng took half a can of luncheon meat from the bodyguard and handed it to the gibbon, saying, "This is a treat."

The gibbon took the can, sniffed it, and then happily stuck its fingers in to scoop out the minced meat and began to eat. The gibbon, which usually ate tender leaves and fruits from trees and sometimes supplemented its diet with termite protein, was now eating cooked meat with seasoning, which was a godsend and made it overjoyed.

Han Sheng borrowed a hairpin from Mingyue, heated it over the campfire, and then inserted it into the philtrum of the bodyguard leader, stimulating his Du meridian. After a while, the bodyguard leader slowly woke up.

"Han Sheng, where are you and the ancestor going now? Why don't you come with us? It'll be good to look after each other," suggested Lu Taiguan.

Han Sheng pondered for a moment. Yes, those Japanese and Huang Jianguo were watching him closely. They couldn't catch him if he ran, but his ancestor was in danger. It would be safer to stay with Lu Taiguan and the others.

"Alright, we'll travel together," Han Sheng replied.

The night passed uneventfully. At dawn, Lu Taiguan and the others extinguished the campfire, packed up, and set off for the Savage Mountain. They then discovered that the white-browed gibbon hadn't left the campsite but was guarding a bodyguard whose backpack contained canned luncheon meat and other food.

Chapter 296:

Under the hazy moonlight, beneath the stone walls of the Nu River Valley, Guizhong was teaching Huang Jianguo the superior corpse-absorbing technique of the Corpse-Slaying Sect.

"Remember, plug all the orifices of the corpse. Most importantly, don't plug the eyes. For male corpses, plug the ears, nostrils, mouth, urethra, and anus—seven orifices in total. For female corpses, plug one more orifice—eight in total. Only leave the mouth open for sucking; close the rest," Onizuka emphasized.

"The smell of corpse odor must be absolutely disgusting," Huang Jianguo chuckled, his stomach rumbling.

Onizuka chuckled, "You get used to it. There's no strange smell, and you'll even feel a lingering aftertaste. Because the corpse stores all the sweet, sour, bitter, and spicy information from its entire life. You have to suck it out to increase your power. Wow, it has all five flavors! Of course, there's a lot of resentment too."

"Then what about a rotting corpse? Full of holes, how can you plug them?" Huang Jianguo asked.

"Your head, go into the corpse's abdominal cavity and suck directly. Do you understand? Hmm, the advanced stage of corpse-sucking technique...you can't master it yet," Onizuka said.

"What's the highest stage of corpse-sucking technique like?" Huang Jianguo asked.

"No one in our sect has ever been able to glimpse its secrets," Onizuka replied.

"Not even you, the sect leader?" Huang Jianguo asked doubtfully.

"Onizuka can't," Kurosawa said, stepping forward. "The supreme divine skill of 'Intermediate State Corpse Absorption Technique' has long been lost. It is said that one can absorb corpse energy from mid-air without needing to touch the corpse. Moreover, at its peak, one can even suck out the soul of a living person mouth-to-mouth, and even expel the corpse energy back into the living person's body, controlling their thoughts and actions."

Huang Jianguo exclaimed in astonishment, "Then wouldn't that mean one could control anyone in the world?"

"Well, that's just a legend after all. No one has ever seen it. It was probably lost after the Jin and Southern and Northern Dynasties in China. Since the Southern Song Dynasty, when Yin people fled east to Japan and founded the Corpse-Cutting Sect, the sect has repeatedly sent masters west to infiltrate the Central Plains over the past few hundred years, but they still couldn't find the secret manual of the great technique. It's estimated that it was destroyed in the wars of various dynasties long ago," Kurosawa said regretfully.

"So that's how it is." Huang Jianguo said thoughtfully. He sighed, "If I were fortunate enough to glimpse this method, what would it take for me to rule the Central Plains? I'd eliminate the likes of the Chief and Han Sheng as quickly as possible. As for Mingyue, I'd just give her some corpse energy; she'd just be a walking corpse under my bed, wouldn't she?

" "Jianguo, what are you thinking about?" Heize asked, looking at Huang Jianguo.

"I'm thinking about where I can get a corpse tonight," Huang Jianguo said eagerly.

Two rows of shriveled corpses sat against the stone walls on either side of the passageway. Each wore a Type 18 helmet and military uniform, covered in dust. Their skin was blackened and wrinkled from dehydration. Some still had their eyes open, their eyebrows covered in cobwebs. Type 38 rifles and two Type 11 light machine guns lay scattered around them, all covered in a thick layer of dust.

They were a group of former Japanese soldiers who had died in this cave for unknown reasons. Due to the extreme dryness inside, their bodies had dehydrated and become mummies… Onizuka reached out and brushed the dust off the corpses, revealing field-green uniforms. He looked at the red insignia on the chests of the deceased, the character for "mountain.

" “Imperial infantry, Southeast Asia Expeditionary Army,” he said, flipping through the shoulder insignia of a mummified corpse holding a sword. “This one is a major’s.”

“They were Japanese soldiers during World War II? More than thirty years ago!” Huang Jianguo exclaimed in surprise. Onizuka

didn’t answer. He picked up a dusty notebook from the major’s lap, blew the dust off, and opened it to the first page. Huang Jianguo quickly shone his flashlight onto the notebook.

The notebook was filled with Japanese text, including some kanji, but Huang Jianguo knew that the meanings of those kanji were not the same as Chinese characters; they could be quite different.

“Major Spider Hand!” Onizuka exclaimed softly.

“What is it?” Huang Jianguo was startled.

“Major Spiderhand, his surname is strange, that’s why I know him,” Onizuka said.

“Spiderhand, that’s a rather strange surname,” Huang Jianguo nodded.

“You don’t know? In Japan, there are ten major surnames, one hundred representative surnames, and three thousand six hundred common surnames. There are also more than twelve thousand six hundred rare, unusual, and difficult surnames. They’re strange,” Onizuka explained.

“Have you heard of this Major Spiderhand before?” Huang Jianguo asked.

“Yes, Major Spiderhand of the Imperial Army Special Forces, a famous biologist,” Onizuka said.

“A biologist?” Huang Jianguo was a little confused.

Onizuka began to flip through his notebook, his expression becoming more and more serious. After a long time, he finally finished reading, closed the notebook, and let out a long sigh.

“What’s going on?” Huang Jianguo asked anxiously.

“Mountain apes, they’re here to capture mountain apes,” Onizuka said slowly.

“What mountain apes? Are they monkeys?” Huang Jianguo asked, puzzled.

"The mountain ape, an ancient ape from over 10 million years ago, an ancestor of humans, once lived on the plains, later returned to the forests to live in trees again, but failed and became extinct," Onizuka explained.

"Oh, since Major Spider-Hand is searching for it, perhaps the mountain ape isn't extinct," Huang Jianguo said.

"No, it's not extinct. It's in the jungles of China and Myanmar, a mountain ape, that killed Major Spider-Hand and his squad," Onizuka said excitedly, shaking his notebook.

Chapter 297

Onizuka recounted the bizarre events recorded in Major Spider's notebook in broken Chinese.

In the spring of 1942, the Imperial Army Headquarters dispatched Major Spider, leading a small detachment of 54 men from the 5th Division, to the Nujiang Gorge in western Yunnan, China. Apart from Spider, no one knew the mission's purpose. Major Spider, a former biology professor at Tokyo Imperial University, was a key figure in this expedition.

Millions of years ago, the Indochina Plate collided with the Eurasian Plate, causing Yunnan to become land by the early Cretaceous period. Western Yunnan is home to a diverse array of natural landscapes, including snow-capped mountains, glaciers, canyons, alpine meadows, and alpine lakes. The Nujiang, Lancang, and Jinsha Rivers are squeezed together by the Gaoligong Mountains, Nushan Mountains, and Yunling Mountains, forming the Hengduan Mountains, a region with unique geological and climatic conditions. While most Eurasian mountain ranges run east-west, the Hengduan Mountains run north-south, with towering peaks and deep valleys that severed the transition between east and west vegetation, preserving biodiversity and a pristine state from millions of years ago.

Millions of years ago, an ancient ape, possibly belonging to the "Homo sapiens" family, lived here. Let's tentatively name it "Ramapithecus." They are close relatives of humans. While it's generally accepted that all ancient apes on Earth are extinct, the Army Headquarters discovered traces of them in the tropical rainforest bordering China and Myanmar. Therefore, they dispatched a special task force led by Major Spider-Hand to capture a live ape and secretly transport it back to Japan.

The task force stealthily infiltrated the Nu River Valley, and several months later, in Myitkyina on the Myanmar side, they finally discovered a mother and daughter pair of golden-haired Ramapithecus. Spider-Hand was overjoyed. This was a small ape, evolving to only a little over a meter tall, but incredibly agile, moving freely through the dense forest. They were also incredibly strong, easily breaking the necks of several soldiers. Because orders forbade firing, capturing them alive was extremely difficult. One evening at dusk, the pair of "Rama apes" finally fell into the trap and were caught in the fishing net. Major Spider-Hand and his soldiers were overjoyed, but then a strange thing happened... The soldiers suddenly lost their minds, their nerves flailing wildly as they opened fire on each other, resulting in about twenty casualties! In the dim light of the dense forest, Spider-Hand saw a short, thin, bald old woman quietly untangle the fishing net and calmly leave with the pair of apes.

Soon after, the soldiers regained their senses, all utterly astonished and bewildered. Major Spider-Hand guessed that months of constant tension in the dense forest, coupled with the sudden relaxation after capturing the apes, had caused their mental instability. Therefore, he ordered his squad to abandon the dead soldiers and continue tracking the apes.

Unexpectedly, the Chinese expeditionary force in Burma suffered a defeat in the Hukawng Valley, with tens of thousands lost in the primeval forest. The ancient apes, likely stunned by the gunfire, somehow managed to escape across the Nu River and into the deep forests on the east side.

Spider-Hand's exhausted squad, reduced to less than thirty men, also hastily crossed the Nu River and pursued them into the mountains, eventually discovering the apes' tracks in a hidden cave by a stream.

The notebook ends here… The cave was quiet. After a long while, Huang Jianguo speculated, “So, Major Spider-Hand and his men tracked them in from the other side of the cave, but were ultimately killed by the pair of ancient apes.”

Onizuka didn't answer, beginning to brush away the dust and carefully examine the mummified corpses.

“Hmm, this one was shot, and that one too.” Onizuka continued his examination deeper into the cave.

Huang Jianguo squatted down and untied Major Spider Hand's uniform. His chest was shriveled, his skin brown, and his head slumped to one side. He appeared to have died from a broken neck, most likely twisted by an ancient ape. Thinking this, Huang Jianguo suddenly smiled. He loosened Major Spider Hand's belt, pulled down half of his trousers and underwear, revealing a dehydrated and withered penis. He then untied the major's shoelaces, tightly tying the limp glans, and tore off a brittle shirt, stuffing it into the corpse's anus, ears, and nostrils. Looking at Spider Hand's dry, wrinkled face, he made a great decision, closed his eyes, parted the corpse's lips with his fingers, and pressed his own mouth against them… Onizuka checked all the soldiers one by one; they had all died from mutual gunfire, indicating they had lost their minds and become mentally deranged in their final moments. "Sigh, over thirty years have passed, and yet this small army detachment of the Empire still dies silently in an unnamed cave in China.

" "What are you doing!" Onizuka turned back and found Huang Jianguo clinging to the desiccated corpse of Major Spider-Hand, sucking on it with gusto… Huang Jianguo was completely immersed in the thrill and pleasure of sucking the corpse. At first, he felt some repulsion, but fortunately, it was a desiccated corpse, and the internal organs were already dehydrated, so the remaining scent was odorless. As he sucked, he gradually felt a faint meaty aroma… With a muffled "plop," Huang Jianguo, using too much force, sucked Major Spider-Hand's tongue into his mouth, where it got stuck in his throat.

"Ugh…" Huang Jianguo wanted to vomit but couldn't, his face turning red.

Onizuka, enraged, gave Huang Jianguo a heavy blow to the back. With a "choo," Huang Jianguo actually swallowed the dried-out tongue.

"Thank you, Master…" Huang Jianguo said awkwardly, catching his breath.

Onizuka ignored him and picked up a soldier's head, sucking on it with loud smacking sounds.

Over the next few minutes, Huang Jianguo and Onizuka sucked on every single Japanese soldier's corpse in the cave.

Inadvertently, Huang Jianguo swallowed several teeth and half a piece of gum.

He seemed to feel some kind of change happening inside his body.

"My stomach is terribly bloated," Huang Jianguo said, panting heavily, his belly noticeably swollen.

"Yours, sucking too much at once is bad, harmful," Onizuka said.

"Then what should I do?" Huang Jianguo asked, looking distressed.

"Don't move yours, and I'll suck out some of the excess from your mouth, understand?" Onizuka said urgently, suddenly grabbing Huang Jianguo and pressing his thick lips to his.

Huang Jianguo was about to refuse when Onizuka's lips sealed his mouth. A powerful hissing sound filled Huang Jianguo's mouth and esophagus. He smelled a strong stench of bad breath and felt utterly nauseous. Finally, unable to bear it any longer, he let out a "uh..." as stomach acid, along with undigested bits of Kozuka's flesh, gushed into Onizuka's mouth, along with Major Spider-Hand's tongue and a few teeth.

"The taste is... excellent," Onizuka said, biting off a piece of sticky residue from his lips.

Strangely, Huang Jianguo immediately felt much better; his stomach was no longer bloated.

"From now on, proceed gradually, you understand," Onizuka instructed.

"Yes, Master," Huang Jianguo replied.

"It's getting late, we should go back," Onizuka said, pocketing Major Spider-Hand's notebook.

Huang Jianguo picked up a heavy Type 91 light machine gun from the ground and said, "I'm taking this machine gun to take out that Wu guy and his four henchmen."

Guizuka grabbed the machine gun, tested it, and found the bolt was already rusted shut. He shook his head and said, "This is too old, it's unusable." He tossed it to the ground and then took two cylindrical grenades from a soldier's belt, saying, "Type 97 melon grenades, very powerful. Pull out the safety pin, hit the body hard against a hard object, and then throw it. The fuse delays for four or five seconds. Remember that."

Huang Jianguo took the grenades, put them in his pocket, and thought, "Hmph, this time I'll blow everyone except Hansheng and Mingyue to death."

When they returned to the other side of the Nu River, it was almost dawn. The campfire on the bank was still burning, and the red embers dispelled the chill of the early morning.

Onizuka took out his notebook and handed it to Kurosawa, who then rattled off a report in Japanese about the discovery of Major Spider-Hand's squad.

Kurosawa's expression was extremely grave. He quickly flipped through his notebook, then looked at the two of them and slowly said, "Major Spiderhand and his squad disappeared in the primeval forests of Myitkyina, Burma in 1942. This matter was classified as top secret by the Army Headquarters at the time. Everyone thought they had all perished in the summer of 1942 when they encountered the Chinese Expeditionary Force in the Hukawng Valley. It turns out they died in a cave in the Nu River Valley. Hmm, it seems there are still many unsolved mysteries surrounding the 'Rama ape.' Major Spiderhand and his soldiers went insane, shooting each other to death. This is definitely not something that could be caused by ordinary mental stress. This matter is quite strange." "

It's almost dawn. Lieutenant Colonel Wu and his men will set off after daybreak. Shall we continue tracking them?" Onizuka asked.

"Of course, Onizuka. Use your sense of smell to follow them from a distance. They will always have moments of carelessness," Kurosawa instructed.

"Yes," Onizuka replied, then ordered Old Ghost to cut off the remaining flesh from Kozuka's corpse and carry it with him for sustenance. As for Kozuka's skeleton, he threw it into the Nu River, having long forgotten his promise to send the ashes back to Japan.

After extinguishing the campfire, Onizuka led the way, Kurosawa and Huang Jianguo followed in the middle, with Old Ghost bringing up the rear, and the four of them once again plunged into the rainforest.

Chapter 298

In Blue Moon Valley, Lan'er sat on the bed until dawn, but did not hear Han Sheng return from next door. Where had he gone?

In the early morning, a damp and cool mist enveloped the red pine forest. Lan'er left the thatched hut and first walked along the forest path to the ancestor's small wooden house. The ancestor was not in the house, nor was he at the graves of Liu Jinmo and Xiao Cuihua. The two babies were still fast asleep.

"Father, Han Sheng did not return all night. I don't know where he went." Lan'er was truly worried and anxiously asked Wu Chushan.

“Child, don’t worry, Father will go check on Grandpa and the old man from Xiangxi,” Wu Chushanren comforted his daughter.

Around noon, people gathered at the man’s thatched hut.

The old man from Xiangxi and Granny Xiaoying sat upright on stools. Since leaving the mountains, the old man had acquired several fashionable outfits; today he wore a dark blue Zhongshan suit. His long, white hair flowed down his shoulders, and he wore no undergarments. A few white chest hairs peeked out from the gaps in the buttons of his suit, looking rather incongruous.

Grandpa squatted silently on the ground, with Old Cuihua clinging to his back. Since Little Cuihua’s suicide, her face had aged considerably.

Lan’er held two infants in her arms, her eyes slightly red and swollen.

Wu Chushan looked around at everyone, his face full of worry, and said, “We have searched the entire valley, but we still cannot find any trace of Hansheng and the Ancestor. I just cast a divination, and it is the Water-Heaven Need hexagram, with the sixth yin line in a yin position moving. The Need hexagram is Kan above Qian below, representing water in the sky about to fall to the ground, a symbol of waiting and anticipation. The hexagram text says: 'The sixth yin line enters the cave, three uninvited guests come, treat them with respect and good fortune will follow.'"

“What does that mean?” Ye Lao muttered impatiently.

“The poem says: ‘Birds wait in the forest at night, eagles in the forest do not let go. Even without intention or purpose, anger will ensue, a fierce battle is not without truth.’ This hexagram means that Hansheng and the Ancestor have left Blue Moon Valley. ‘Need, there is sincerity, bright success, perseverance brings good fortune, it is advantageous to cross the great river.’ They have gone far away. Although we do not know what Hansheng has gone to do, they will eventually escape danger. We can only wait, just as the hexagram text says, ‘entering the cave.’” Wu Chushan explained.

“Three uninvited guests have arrived. Who are they?” the old man from Xiangxi muttered to himself.

“These are the ones Hansheng might encounter. Alas, best to respect them.” Wu Chushanren gazed at the distant mountains outside the house and said softly.

Light footsteps sounded outside the thatched hut, and Master Jin hurried in, saying, “Hansheng has left the valley. Old Lama Danzeng told me.”

“What did he do?” Lan’er asked impatiently.

“The Japanese have come to the valley,” Master Jin said solemnly.

Master Jin briefly recounted the meeting between Old Lama Danzeng and Hansheng the previous night, concluding, “The two divine crows that can repeat human speech haven’t returned since they left the valley again.”

“What are the Japanese doing outside Blue Moon Valley?” Wu Chushanren asked疑惑地.

Master Jin pondered for a moment and said, "The Japanese are looking for me. Murakami Takeo and Inubushi Shi have both fallen, and they must be unwilling to accept it, so they've been tracking me all this way."

The old man from Xiangxi stood up abruptly, angrily saying, "Let me go and see."

"Wait," Master Jin quickly stopped the old man, saying, "The one who tied the knot must untie it. They won't give up until they find me. I'll go out of the valley and investigate, and find Hansheng along the way."

"Then what about the Ancestor? Didn't Lama Tenzin see her?" Wu Chushan asked doubtfully.

"No, he said he hadn't seen the Ancestor," Master Jin replied.

"The Ancestor is usually inseparable from her baby, and she even has to breastfeed. Now that she has suddenly disappeared, there must be some reason why she can't return. I think she must be with Hansheng, possibly related to the Japanese outside the valley last night," Wu Chushan speculated.

“Lama Tenzin said that the entrance to Blue Moon Valley only appears at midnight of the full moon. Han Sheng and the Ancestor may not be able to find the entrance, so they will probably have to wait until midnight on the fifteenth of next month. I will leave the valley now. If I don’t return immediately, you can rest assured and wait for the next full moon. I will bring Han Sheng and the Ancestor back.” Master Jin said.

Wu Chushan knew that Master Jin was the abbot of Baiyun Temple, a top master of the Quanzhen Sect, and had extensive experience in the martial arts world. He was the most appropriate person to leave the valley.

“Alright, Master Jin, we will wait for good news in the valley. Tell the Ancestor that Lan’er and I will take care of the two babies. Please tell her not to worry.” Wu Chushan said with a cupped hand.

“I will take my leave.” Master Jin turned and left.

“Lan’er, you will take care of Shen Caihua and the Ancestor’s daughter. See if the little one is hungry and cook some porridge for her.” Wu Chushan instructed.

“Mama.” The wrinkled baby girl whispered with tears in her eyes.

Shen Caihua, holding the wrinkled baby girl's hand, stepped outside. The two, their little bottoms bare, strolled leisurely through the pine forest. Ahead lay Old Ye's small wooden house.

They quietly approached Old Ye's henhouse. The speckled hen was incubating her eggs. Seeing the two babies, she warily spread her wings to protect the eggs beneath her belly. Shen Caihua shook his head, looked around to make sure no one was watching, then smiled slightly at the wrinkled baby girl and licked his lips. The

wrinkled baby girl, as if sensing his intention, nodded. The two babies pounced on them with a "whoosh," startling the hen, who clucked loudly and pecked at them desperately, but was no match. The two babies quickly grabbed a few eggs each and fled.

Deep in the pine forest, Shen Caihua and the wrinkled baby girl sat happily under a red pine tree, each cracking open an egg and sucking on it. Soon, only one egg remained on the ground, which Shen Caihua generously offered to the wrinkled baby girl.

"Eh..." The wrinkled baby girl exclaimed softly. It turned out that this egg was the one that Elder Ye had sealed with wax, the one he had specially processed.

"Damn it, who stole my Golden Lilac Egg...?" Elder Ye's angry shouts echoed from the distant wooden house.

Shen Caihua and the wrinkled baby girl exchanged a smile, got up, and ran towards the depths of the pine forest. After running a few steps, the wrinkled baby girl turned back, grabbed the egg from the ground, and then, pulling Shen Caihua's hand, the two skipped and hopped into the depths of the red pine forest.

The pine forest in Blue Moon Valley was teeming with all sorts of fungi: brown matsutake mushrooms, glossy porcini mushrooms, and golden-yellow cap mushrooms, among others. A little squirrel perched on a pine branch, staring with amazed eyes at the two naked children. The ground was covered in soft pine needles, and a pangolin emerged from a patch of dazzling golden donkey hoof grass, peering out and searching for an anthill.

The two babies walked further and further away, until they reached the edge of the pine forest.

A mountain stream appeared before them, its valley floor a winding brook of crystal-clear, pale blue water teeming with tiny, silvery-white fish.

Shen Caihua and the wrinkled baby girl sat side-by-side on the green grass blooming with wildflowers. The winter sun was warm and gentle, and a Himalayan eagle soared in the azure sky; everything was so natural and tranquil. The

wrinkled baby girl gently peeled away the wax seal from the eggshell with her fingernail, squinting as she peered through the small hole. She noticed that unlike the other eggs, it contained a viscous, pale yellow liquid with a faint, fishy odor. She opened her two rows of tiny, sharp teeth and bit open the shell, finding no yolk she liked. She licked it with her little tongue, but the taste was unpleasant, so she prepared to throw it away.

Suddenly, Shen Caihua sprang up, knocking over the broken eggshell in the wrinkled baby girl's hand. The sticky substance splattered all over the baby's face, which she hurriedly wiped away, making a mess everywhere.

At that moment, Shen Caihua had already plunged into the depths of the grass, dragging out a huge gray hare. The wrinkled baby girl was overjoyed, immediately scrambling to her feet and running over to help Shen Caihua set the hare's plump body over. She licked her lips, aiming for its carotid artery, ready to bite.

Shen Caihua stepped aside, letting the baby girl suck the blood first, while he humbly watched from the side.

Just then, the Himalayan eagle circling in the sky also locked onto its target and swooped down silently.

Shen Caihua felt a sudden gust of wind, the light dimmed, and the eagle's two steel-like talons had already dug into the hare's spine before it flapped its wings and took flight.

Enraged, Shen Caihua grabbed the rabbit by its hind legs and yanked it down with all his might. The wrinkled baby girl, regaining her senses, lunged forward and grabbed the rabbit's front legs as well. How could she let the eagle snatch away their delicious meal? At the same time, the baby girl bared her white teeth at the thieving eagle and hissed menacingly… The Himalayan eagle completely ignored the two infants, flapping its massive wings and soaring upwards. Shen Caihua and the wrinkled baby girl, however, remained steadfast, clinging tightly to the rabbit's legs. The

enormous Himalayan eagle, carrying the rabbit and the two infants, soared together into the azure sky…

Chapter 299:

At the end of a quiet alley near the capital, there stood a courtyard house nestled among green trees. With its blue bricks and tiles, carved beams and painted rafters, the dark red lacquered gate was adorned with two mottled bronze tiger heads, each holding a door knocker in its mouth. On either side of the stone steps crouched a northern-style stone lion. The alleyway was paved with cobblestones, worn smooth by time, faintly retaining traces of its former bustling past. This was once a Qing Dynasty prince's mansion.

The courtyard was paved with fine pebbles inlaid with a pattern of five bats holding a longevity symbol, green moss growing in the cracks. Beside it stood an ancient well from the Qianlong era, next to which grew a pomegranate tree.

In the main hall of the main house, a portrait of Chairman Mao in military uniform hung on the wall, and two pots of short-leaved clivia with pink blossoms sat on the table.

"So, Huang Jianguo and his son, Xiao Yanfang, Liu Jinmo, Han Sheng, and the others are all dead?" the leader said, his face grim as he sat in his armchair.

“Yes, Huang Qianhui died of poisoning, Xiao Yanfang committed suicide by shooting herself, and Liu Jinmo, after being poisoned, was carried off a cliff by a dwarf. Huang Jianguo’s scrotum was crushed by Mingyue, so he was definitely dead. Han Sheng went to stop the dwarf, but he also accidentally fell off. We saw it; it’s a bottomless cliff. Han Sheng is definitely smashed to pieces.” A subordinate said respectfully.

The leader pondered for a long time without speaking, and finally frowned and said, “Why didn’t you throw the bodies of Huang’s father and son and Xiao Yanfang off the cliff to destroy the evidence?”

“Sir, they didn’t leave anything on their bodies, including guns, identification documents, etc., that could prove their identities. The bodies have probably already been eaten by wolves or vultures.” The subordinate blushed and lowered his head to explain in a low voice.

“Sigh, with Han Sheng dead, the clues have gone cold.” The leader sighed.

There were hurried footsteps outside the door, and the door was suddenly pushed open. Dongdong rushed in with a flushed face.

"Dad, I heard Jianguo had an accident?" she asked breathlessly.

"Yes, Jianguo gloriously sacrificed his life in the line of duty," the commander said casually.

"He's really dead..." Dongdong froze, tears welling up in her eyes.

The commander waved his hand impatiently and ordered his subordinates, "Take Dongdong back to her room, I'm in a bit of a mood."

As Dongdong was being led out the door, she suddenly turned around and cried, "How did Jianguo die?"

"That little wench named Mingyue crushed his testicles," the commander said gleefully.

"I want to tear that slut to pieces!" Dongdong cursed as her subordinates dragged her out of the room.

The commander's face was ashen. He stood up and paced back and forth in the living room, sighing repeatedly.

"Ring..." The telephone suddenly rang.

The commander picked up the receiver and listened expressionlessly.

"What did you say! Han Sheng isn't dead! And he even found Blue Moon Valley? Where is he now?" The commander almost jumped up.

After a moment, he slowly put down the receiver and muttered to himself, "The Japanese..."

The commander picked up the receiver and connected to the Japanese Consulate General in Beijing.

"Please let Deputy Consul General Kurosawa take the call," he said.

"I'm sorry, Mr. Kurosawa is traveling in southern China," the other party replied politely.

The commander silently put down the receiver. This cunning Consul Kurosawa had actually found Han Sheng first. It turned out the Japanese were also after the prophecy of the Living Buddha Geda. Hmph, it seems I'll have to handle this personally, he thought.

The commander walked out of the living room and went to the west wing near the door. Several subordinates immediately stood up nervously when they saw him.

"What's the name of that agent from the Criminal Investigation Bureau of the Ministry of Public Security?" the commander asked.

"Feng Sheng," the subordinate replied.

"What role did he play in this whole affair?" the commander asked again.

"He's not entirely on the same page as Han Sheng and the others, but he definitely knows something about their situation. Perhaps Han Sheng once saved his father, and he's traveling with them out of gratitude? After arriving in Zhongdian, he left with the truck," the subordinate explained.

"Immediately take the letter of introduction to East Chang'an Street, to the Political Department of the Ministry of Public Security, and retrieve all of his files. I need to see them," the leader ordered, then added after a moment's thought, "If they ask, say we need to investigate him."

"Yes, sir," the subordinate replied and immediately left.

A little over an hour later, Feng Sheng's file was placed on the leader's desk.

Feng Sheng, a member of the Communist Party, unmarried, had worked in the Criminal Investigation Department of the Tangshan Public Security Bureau before being transferred to the Criminal Investigation Bureau of the Ministry of Public Security. His strengths lay in his calm and clear-headed approach to cases, his strong logical thinking, and his ability to solve numerous major cases single-handedly, earning him the title of Advanced Worker in the Public Security System annually. His weaknesses were his taciturn nature and somewhat strained relationships with superiors and colleagues. In addition, the Criminal Investigation Bureau explained that he was currently privately investigating a heinous murder case that occurred in Wanjinta Commune, Nong'an County, Jilin Province. They had lost contact with him some time ago, but received a long-distance call yesterday saying he was hospitalized in Zhongdian County Hospital in Diqing Prefecture, Yunnan Province, with a neck injury. The Criminal Investigation Bureau was preparing to send someone there to investigate further.

"Very good. Immediately issue a document to the Political Department of the Ministry of Public Security: I want this person. The Criminal Investigation Bureau doesn't need to send anyone to Yunnan anymore; we'll handle everything," the superior ordered.

The subordinate obeyed and immediately went to complete the necessary procedures.

The commander closed the file, thought for a moment, picked up the phone, and dialed a secret international long-distance number.

"Monglachao, I have something for you to do," he said.

In the winter of the Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau, the mornings and evenings were cool, but the sunshine brought a warm and pleasant feeling. In his ward at the Zhongdian County People's Hospital, Feng Sheng opened the window and gazed at the distant, majestic snow-capped mountains. The dazzling peaks shone with a golden hue, and he couldn't help but squint.

In the blink of an eye, he and Xiao Zhao had been hospitalized for over ten days. The young man was eager to return home and had already set off for Hebei yesterday. His neck injury had basically healed. Two days ago, he received a call from his ministry, informing him that he could rest and recuperate, and that his job had been transferred. He was no longer under the Ministry of Public Security, but to a secret department of the Central Government. Someone would be coming to Zhongdian to contact him in two days.

Feng Sheng's gaze fell on the hospital entrance. A small black sedan pulled up and stopped. In this remote part of the Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau, sedans were a rare sight.

Three men stepped out of the car. The one in the middle, about fifty years old, had a square face and an imposing presence, exuding authority with every gesture. The two young men behind him were burly and robust, seemingly his attendants or guards.

A moment later, the ward door opened gently. "It's him," the hospital director's familiar Yunnan accent reached Feng Sheng's ears. He turned around to look… and there was the square-faced man who had stepped out of the black sedan. He waved his hand slightly, and the attendants and the hospital director quietly withdrew.

The square-faced man stared sharply at Feng Sheng for a moment before slowly saying, "Are you Comrade Feng Sheng from the Criminal Investigation Bureau of the Ministry of Public Security?" in a standard Beijing accent.

"Yes," Feng Sheng replied, standing up straight.

"This is your transfer order; it has my signature on it." The square-faced man handed over a manila envelope.

Feng Sheng took the envelope, pulled out a red-headed document, glanced at it, and when his eyes fell on the strong, powerful signature, he couldn't help but respectfully greet it softly, "Commander."

"Hmm, from now on, you'll be working with us," the commander said warmly, extending his hand.

Feng Sheng quickly grasped it with both hands and said, "Yes, Commander, please sit down."

The commander sat down in the chair, looking at Feng Sheng with kind eyes, and said, "Comrade Feng Sheng, how is your recovery?"

"Commander, I'm completely recovered and can work again," Feng Sheng said loudly.

The commander nodded. "Hmm, very good. Comrade Feng, according to the Ministry of Public Security, your trip to Yunnan this time wasn't arranged by the ministry. Could you tell me the reason?"

"Yes, sir. I was investigating a murder case recently. My father was originally the tunneling team leader at the Kaiping Coal Mine. He disappeared in a roof collapse accident ten years ago. We all thought he was dead, but unexpectedly, he was still alive, surviving on rats in the underground mine for ten years..." Feng Sheng's eyes reddened, tears welling up. He continued, "A young doctor passing through Kaiping risked his life to save my father. Our whole family is extremely grateful. My father asked me to personally escort our savior back home. I happened to have some time, so I accompanied him to Yunnan."

"Of course, 'Saving a life is better than building a seven-story pagoda,' right? Is this doctor from Yunnan?" the commander asked with interest.

"No, he's from Jiangxi," Feng Sheng replied.

"From Jiangxi? Why did you come to Yunnan?" the commander asked.

"This..." Feng Sheng said vaguely, "He's visiting relatives and friends."

The leader smiled, thinking to himself, "Don't push him too far," and nodded in praise, saying, "This doctor is selfless in saving lives; he truly embodies the communist spirit of Dr. Norman Bethune. If I have the chance, I'd like to meet him. What's his name?"

Feng Sheng hesitated slightly, but still answered, "Han Sheng."

Chapter 300

The Himalayan vulture, also known as the plateau vulture, is about 1.4 meters long and weighs over ten kilograms as an adult. Its wingspan can reach two to three meters. It often soars at an altitude of 6,000 meters, making it one of the highest-flying birds in the world, reaching altitudes of over 9,000 meters. It can easily fly over Mount Everest. The vulture spends long periods of time looking down from the air to search for animal carcasses or diseased remains on the ground. Once it finds one, it lands and tears it up. It is a sacred bird for Tibetan sky burials and is also known as the "plateau cleaner."

This male Himalayan vulture inhabits the Gaoligong Mountains, with a foraging range extending hundreds of kilometers. It primarily feeds on carrion and corpses, and while it generally doesn't attack live animals, it sometimes will eat anything it can find. The large hare on the cliff in Blue Moon Valley was actually first spotted by this vulture. When it saw two live infants about to snatch its prey, it became enraged and swooped down to grab them. However, the two infants refused to let go, so it took flight, intending to carry the prey back to its nest as food for the mother vulture and her newborn chicks.

The vulture rapidly ascended with the hare and two infants, but due to their weight, it couldn't fly very high and could only continue southwest along the mountain valleys. Shen Caihua and the wrinkled baby girl were caught off guard and suddenly lifted into the air by the eagle. Below them, forests, canyons, and tundra meadows rushed past. Both were terrified and closed their eyes, clinging tightly to the rabbit's legs. The wind howled in their ears, and they shivered from the cold.

They didn't know how long they flew before Shen Caihua cautiously opened his eyes. He saw a river below, and beyond that, an endless expanse of primeval rainforest. The wrinkled baby girl still dared not open her eyes; her wrinkled skin trembled incessantly. Her little hands seemed unable to hold onto the rabbit's front legs and were slowly sliding down… Shen Caihua held tightly to the rabbit's hind legs and whispered, "Hold me."

The wrinkled baby girl opened her terrified eyes, understood Shen Caihua's meaning, and struggled to swing her legs over to wrap around his waist, easing the force of the fall. Then she released her numb hands and hugged Shen Caihua tightly.

The sudden increase in weight made Shen Caihua's hands even more strained. Just as he gritted his teeth and tried to hold on, the vulture began to descend.

"Hiss, hiss..." The vulture let out a series of long cries as it glided towards the top of a tall Hopea tree in the rainforest.

Vultures usually prefer to nest in the hollows of cliff faces on high plateaus, but this pair of vultures had built their nest in a tree hollow nearly a hundred meters high. Just when Shen Caihua could no longer hold on, the male vulture had already landed steadily in the large tree hollow.

Two infants fell into the hard, hollowed-out tree trunk, their bodies covered with long, thin, sword-like antelope horns and a pangolin's hide. A rapid "humming" sound reached their ears. Shen Caihua and the wrinkled baby girl looked closely and were both startled… A baby vulture, about the size of an old hen with white spots, was staring at them with wide, sky-blue eyes… “Hiss… hiss…” From the nearby jungle beneath the tall tree, several desperate cries of a female vulture suddenly echoed.

The male vulture, startled, flapped its wings and swooped down, hissing in response.

In the jungle, the female vulture was locked in a fierce battle with a giant python. Scattered feathers littered the ground, and the female vulture's chest and back were covered in blood from the python's fangs. Fortunately, the python was non-venomous, or it would have died long ago.

This was a male golden python, about the thickness of a bowl and five or six meters long, with brown scales speckled with yellow. One of its eyes had been gouged out by the female vulture, and several gashes on its body were oozing blood—scratches inflicted by the female vulture's hard, sharp claws.

Seeing the male vulture arrive as reinforcements, the female vulture's morale soared, and it hissed even louder. The male vulture swooped down, pinning the python's nape with its claws, and with a sharp beak, gouged out its other eye.

The giant python opened its massive jaws and hissed in pain, its body coiling back up. With a flick of its tail, it swept towards the male vulture. The vulture flapped its wings, leaping more than three feet into the air, dodging the fatal blow, and then waited for its next attack.

However, they were unaware that the golden python was also a pair. While the male python fought the female vulture, the female had already secretly climbed the Hopea tree, preparing to raid the vulture's nest and snatch some baby vultures to eat.

Inside the tree hollow, the wrinkled baby girl also curiously watched the baby vulture, reaching out her tiny hand to touch the downy feathers under its neck. But then her eyes darted around, her gaze falling on Shen Caihua. A sinister smile spread across her face, and she licked her lips with her little tongue. Shen Caihua immediately understood the wrinkled baby girl's meaning, and immediately opened his lips, revealing two rows of sharp teeth.

The two infants lunged forward simultaneously, their four tiny hands reaching for the baby eagle. The baby eagle, oblivious, tilted its head, staring at the two hairless little monsters, making soft "humming" noises.

Just then, a huge golden python's head emerged from the cave entrance, its jaws wide open… Pythons swallow their prey whole, and the female python's mouth seemed to possess a suction force. The two infants were completely unprepared. By the time Shen Caihua sensed something amiss and turned to look, it was too late. The wrinkled baby girl had been instantly swallowed by the python, only one leg remaining outside… Shen Caihua was horrified. He frantically grabbed the baby girl's leg and tried to pull it out, but the python's swallowing power was too great; not only could he not pull it out, but it was also slowly sliding inwards.

The baby eagle, sensing danger, instinctively hissed loudly.

Shen Caihua braced his feet against the tree hollow entrance, desperately pulling back with both hands. For the sake of the wrinkled baby girl, he had long since disregarded his own life. Finally, he, along with his hands, head, and body, were swallowed bit by bit by the python… The vulture couple, who were fighting the python under the Hopea tree, suddenly heard the baby vulture's terrified cries for help. Knowing something was terribly wrong, they immediately flapped their wings and hurriedly flew towards the treetop to rescue her.

After swallowing the wrinkled baby girl and Shen Caihua, the female python immediately turned its attention to the baby vulture, opening its blood-red jaws once more… “Hiss! Hiss!” Just at this critical moment, the vulture couple rushed to the entrance. With two sharp “swoosh” sounds, their talons tore two gashes on the female python's back. The female python was terrified, quickly retreating to the other side of the tree, then fleeing hastily towards the ground.

The female golden python swiftly slid down the vine-entwined trunk of a towering tree to the side of the severely wounded male python. The male was blind, his eye sockets bleeding, and his massive body trembled slightly.

The female coiled herself around the male, and then the two silently slithered away through the undergrowth.

Pythons are robust and long, among the largest and most primitive snakes in the world. They possess a pair of well-developed lungs, prefer warmth and are sensitive to cold, with an optimal temperature range of 25-35°C. Below 15°C, their bodies begin to numb, and they die at 5-6°C. In the winter, the temperature difference between day and night in the Burmese rainforest is significant. During the day, pythons forage and are active, but at night their bodies become stiff and numb, forcing them to return to their gregarious dens for warmth. Their diet typically consists of small muntjacs, wild boars, and rabbits. They have enormous appetites, capable of swallowing animals equal to or exceeding their own weight in a single meal, and can go without food for months after a satiated meal.

The female golden python led the male python towards their nest deep in the rainforest.

Inside the python's belly, Shen Caihua tightly gripped the wrinkled baby girl's ankle, using one hand to hook onto a lung. Air was plentiful, but the smell was fishy and sour, utterly unpleasant. A small amount of sticky liquid secreted from the python's abdominal wall seeped into the baby girl's wrinkled skin; this was the python's gastric juice, and it had begun digesting its food. The

wrinkled baby girl began to feel itchy all over, then stinging, and finally numb. At this point, the golden clove medicine previously applied to her body began to take effect.

The Golden Clove of Ye Lao, also known as "Golden Armor," is the nasal mucus of a thousand-year-old mummy, sealed inside a fertilized egg and incubated by an old hen for several days. Although the incubation period is less than 21 days, it already possesses considerable medicinal properties. Especially when the python's digestive fluids corrode the baby girl's wrinkled skin, the medicinal power of the Golden Clove quickly penetrates into the dermis of her entire body, slowly peeling away the wrinkles until they are completely shed. This is how the medicine is named "Golden Armor."

Deep in the rarely visited rainforest, a cave appears, covered with climbing vines, the air filled with a fishy and damp smell. This is the lair of the pythons.

Above the cave entrance is a protruding boulder, on which sits a turbaned, barefoot old man, his face dark, his eyes gleaming, his hands with bulging veins, and a blood-red vertical flute in his mouth, playing a strange tune... He is Mong La Cha Wong, the most evil sorcerer in Southeast Asia.

Chapter 301

Mong La Chawong was originally a descendant of the Thai royal family. He ran away from the palace as a child and disappeared without a trace. Thirty years later, he returned to Bangkok, now the most powerful sorcerer in Southeast Asia. Several months ago, his only apprentice, Khun Weichai, died a violent death in Beijing, China,

his body dumped in the moat near the Forbidden City. "The one who broke the Yin-Yang Grass curse and killed Khun Weichai was a Chinese folk healer named Han Sheng," a familiar voice on the phone in Beijing told him.

"Where is he? I need to find him," Mong La Chawong said bitterly.

"I will find him, and I'll need your help then," the person said.

"Okay, tell me," Mong La Chawong knew he had to agree.

"I'll let you know when the time comes," a soft laugh came from the phone.

Two days ago, the phone call he had been waiting for finally arrived. The Chinese healer named Han Sheng and several Japanese men appeared on the Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau and were heading towards the tropical rainforest of Myanmar along the Nu River Valley, their destination possibly being Myitkyina.

"What do you need me to do?" Mong La Chawong asked.

"Kill everyone except Han Sheng, including the Japanese," the man said coldly.

"What about Han Sheng?" Mong La Chaon asked, puzzled.

"I'll hand him over to you after I've interrogated him," the voice on the phone paused, then continued, "I'll come to meet you as soon as possible."

Mong La Chaon first went to the primeval forests of Myitkyina, Myanmar. He was very familiar with the rainforest and waited for his prey to come to him on a well-trodden path deep in the forest.

At this moment, he played his blood flute while watching the pair of golden pythons returning to their nest. His brows furrowed slightly, and his suspicious gaze was fixed on the female python.

Hmm, strange, these golden pythons didn't react to his hypnotic blood flute… Snake charmers in Indochina were skilled at controlling pythons with flute music, making them their tools. This blood flute of his was passed down to him by his master many years ago. The bamboo flute contained the blood and energy of generations of sorcerers, thus gradually turning bright red and possessing immense power.

This morning, Mongrachaion found the python's lair deep in the dense forest. Using his blood flute, he controlled dozens of large pythons inside the cave. They would strike first, binding and ensnaring Han Sheng and the Japanese. Dealing with them wouldn't require his personal intervention.

The golden-flowered pythons approached, warily eyeing Mongrachaion sitting atop the boulder.

These were ordinary golden-flowered pythons from the rainforest, yet they could resist the blood flute's enchanting sound, completely surprising Mongrachaion. Bing frowned, surprised; pythons unaffected by music were useless.

The blood flute suddenly changed its tune, the previously hypnotic melody transforming into a resounding clang of weapons. Hearing the music, dozens of large pythons with various patterns slowly crawled out of the cave, each raising its massive head, viciously surrounding the two injured golden-flowered pythons.

The golden python couple were already injured, especially the male, who was blind and had several gashes on his body from vultures, leaving him almost completely defenseless. If the female hadn't coiled herself around him and carried him back, he would surely be dead, likely already a carrion for the vultures or eaten by other animals in the jungle.

The female python watched the approaching troop of pythons with fear, her body trembling slightly. Although the male python was blind, he sensed the danger. He broke free from the female's embrace, nudging her with his head, urging her to leave him and escape. The female python looked

at the male with loving eyes; she couldn't bear to abandon him. So she raised her head, opened her mouth, and stared at her own kind with gaping jaws, preparing for a desperate fight.

At this moment, the wrinkled baby girl inside the female golden python's belly had begun to shed her skin. The wrinkled skin, resembling that of a Shar-Pei, began to burst open one by one. Shen Caihua, holding the baby girl's ankle, suddenly lost his grip, slipping away. He quickly grabbed again, but only managed to grasp half of the sole. Even so, the Laogong acupoint on his palm pressed tightly against the Yongquan acupoint of the Foot Shaoyin Kidney Meridian on the wrinkled baby girl's foot… The *Huangdi Neijing* records: "The kidney originates from Yongquan, and Yongquan is the center of the foot." This means that the Qi of the Kidney Meridian is like spring water, originating from the foot and flowing out to irrigate the meridians of the entire body. The Laogong acupoint is also known as the "Ghost Road Acupoint." "Ghost" is the opposite of "heaven," referring to the earth; "road" means path, implying that the Qi and blood within the acupoint originate from the earth, hence the name "Ghost Road."

The entire Zhuyou Divine Skill of Guo Pu was concentrated within the Guo Gong Burial Ruler. By a twist of fate, it was absorbed separately by the two infants, resulting in two problems: first, the two could not merge; second, neither child knew how to circulate Qi, so it had little effect. Nevertheless, the internal magnetic field of the Zhuyou Divine Skill was enough to prevent the female python's nerves from being affected or controlled by the Blood Flute. Now, within the female python's body, the Ghost Path and Yongquan acupoints were connected, suddenly generating a huge suction force. The portion of Zhuyou Qi from the wrinkled baby girl flowed backward through Yongquan into the Ghost Path in Shen Caihua's palm. The energy field of the Zhuyou Divine Skill suddenly opened up, and Shen Caihua's body instantly felt unbearably hot. He then pulled the wrinkled baby girl back, slowly retreating back to the female python's neck. Shen Caihua curled up and turned over, his eyes now able to see through the female golden-flowered python's open mouth. The first thing he saw was Menglachaweng sitting cross-legged on the boulder. *Bing…*

The melody of the Blood Flute emitted a rapid monotone, and the swarm of pythons lunged at the Golden Flower Python couple, their long, blood-red tongues hissing violently.

Although Shen Caihua possessed the incantation power of Guo Gong's Burial Ruler, he didn't know the method of guiding qi, nor did he understand a single incantation, rendering it useless in combat.

The pythons, upon approaching, sensed an invisible incantation magnetic field.

Pythons have a pair of concave organs on their heads, highly sensitive to infrared rays and biomagnetic fields, hence also called infrared magnetic field receptors.

When these receptors entered the chaotic incantation magnetic field of Shen Caihua, their minds suddenly cleared, breaking free from the control of the Blood Flute melody. They stared strangely at the enraged Golden Flower Python, wondering what they had done. After retracting their heads, they received the demonic sound of the Blood Flute again, becoming ferocious and charging back into the circle… This repeated endlessly, their movements like a dance.

*Meng Lachaweng*. Bing blinked. "Huh? This is really strange. These pythons aren't attacking according to the flute's melody; instead, they're dancing around the golden python..." Bing suddenly increased his power, the blood flute's tone rising an octave. The pythons, their eyes bloodshot, surged towards the golden python couple in a frenzy.

But as soon as they got within inches of the golden python, they couldn't get any closer.

Bing was furious. The blood flute emitted a piercing shriek, and blood slowly seeped from the corner of his mouth as he unleashed a blood-suppressing technique he hadn't used in years.

The pythons went berserk, rushing forward in a frenzy.

The Zhu You magnetic field circulated continuously within Shen Caihua's eight extraordinary meridians. Feeling unbearably hot, he hooked one hand around the female golden python's lower jaw fangs and the other hand, pulling on the wrinkled baby girl's feet, climbing back into the python's mouth.

The female golden python felt something wriggling in her mouth. She tried to swallow it twice but couldn't manage it. Feeling both choked and itchy, she vomited, expelling Shen Caihua along with the wrinkled baby girl… The two infants fell to the ground, and the frenzied pythons opened their blood-red mouths and simultaneously lunged at them… Meng Lachaweng. Bing was shocked to see this; the golden pythons had eaten two children! The flute music suddenly stopped, and the pythons, bewildered, also stopped, exchanging bewildered glances. Then, the blood flute emitted a soft, soothing melody, and all the pythons' eyelids drooped, becoming drowsy, including the golden python couple.

The children were still alive. The chubby little boy slowly got up and stood on the ground, followed by the little girl with smooth, delicate skin like jade… Shen Caihua stared in astonishment at the wrinkled baby girl, completely unable to believe his eyes… The baby girl before him had pinkish-white skin, spotless, like a jade sculpture. Her features were delicate, and her bright, clear eyes were exceptionally clear. She smiled at little Caihua, revealing two pretty dimples. Her two rows of sharp teeth were still white and sharp, and her little tongue darted out, licking her lips as usual. She was still that familiar wrinkled baby girl. Shen Caihua was almost stunned.

Meng Lachaweng. Bing was overjoyed. These two little ones were a gift from heaven. He had been engrossed in practicing blood-curdling techniques, and although he had become a grandmaster of sorcery, he had never had any children. Even though he had taken in a useless disciple, Kun Weichai, he was killed. It was a pity that all his witchcraft had no successors.

“Haha, children, hello!” Meng Lachaweng said. Bing, chuckling, leaped down from the boulder and landed in front of the babies.

The royal family of Monrachawon was descended from Chinese, and most people of this ethnicity understood some Mandarin. Seeing the two children's build and appearance, Bing guessed they were Chinese and asked them in Mandarin.

Shen Caihua and the wrinkled baby girl looked at each other and whispered in unison, "Mama."

Monrachawon. Bing chuckled, "So well-behaved! But I'm your Bing Papa, not your Mama."

The two babies didn't understand what "Bing Papa" meant, looked at each other again, and repeated, "Bing Papa..."

Monrachawon. Bing was overjoyed and couldn't help but open his arms, wanting to hug and kiss the two children: "Come, come, let Bing Papa hug you."

Shen Caihua and the wrinkled baby girl smiled at each other, grinning and licking their lips with their little tongues.

"Oh, you two must have been hungry inside the python's belly, but what would you like to eat?" Monrachawon asked. Bing frowned, deep in thought.

Suddenly, Shen Caihua and the wrinkled baby girl leaped up and pounced on a drowsy, black-striped python. With two sharp bites to its neck, their fangs pierced the thick, tough skin, and blood gushed out. The two babies immediately began sucking on the snake's skin.

Meng Lachawong. Bing was shocked: "Ah...blood-sucking infants!"

In Southeast Asian sorcery, there is an extremely evil blood-sucking curse. It involves finding a pregnant woman who has died from postpartum hemorrhage, cutting open her abdomen to remove the baby, then heating the mother's chin and feeding the baby with the dripping corpse oil daily. After forty-nine days, the infant can live on blood and no longer consumes milk or grains. Such blood-sucking infants are filled with resentment. Although they grow like old men and never grow any bigger, they are extremely powerful and exceptionally ferocious. Could these two beautiful children be blood-sucking curses raised by some powerful being?

Meng Lachawong. Bing looked at the two infants with suspicion, then silently took out a small black glass bottle from his pocket. He opened the cap, revealing a thick, yellowish-brown paste inside—his treasured aged corpse oil.

Chapter 302

"Corpse oil" is the oily substance that seeps out from a highly decomposed corpse (usually the deceased are obese). Especially in the hot summer, corpses left untreated for several days can appear shiny, as if soaked in oil. In traditional markets in some small towns in Thailand, you can easily find jars of orange-yellow bottles resembling peanut oil on stalls, which vendors claim are corpse oil, priced differently.

Of course, these are all scams. Real corpse oil must be made by a sorcerer (or a practitioner of black magic). The process isn't particularly complex, but the more skilled the sorcerer, the better the quality of the oil. The common practice is to place the corpse on an altar, then burn incense and wood beneath it to fumigate the body; the liquid dripping from the corpse is the corpse oil. Alternatively, white candles can be used to burn the jawline of the deceased, collecting the dripping oil in small bottles. A simpler method is to scrape the oil from the bottom of the coffin, but the quality is less reliable.

Corpse oil is used to activate the "ghost spell" in sorcery. The sorcerer extracts the corpse oil and chants incantations, and the soul of the stillborn infant (the little ghost) will be controlled by the sorcerer for life, fighting unwillingly for the sorcerer until it encounters a master who subdues it and destroys its soul. Therefore, the little ghost usually hates its master. The newly created little ghost has no aggression and must be fed with human blood by the sorcerer. After being refined, the little ghost is mostly bright red and extremely ferocious. At this time, the sorcerer is also in great danger. If the "ghost spell" goes wrong, the little ghost will have the opportunity to escape control and then take a frenzied revenge on the sorcerer, causing its death.

Monglachawong. Bing is the most evil sorcerer in Southeast Asia and is naturally a master in this field. His bottle of corpse oil was hard-won, taken from the corpse of a transvestite who died from hemorrhage.

In early Thailand, due to war, all adult men were forced to fight. During this time, a wild herb, locally called "daughter's grass," was discovered. Regular consumption was believed to cause the loss of male characteristics, such as fuller breasts, a higher-pitched voice, and the disappearance of the Adam's apple. Many men ate this herb to avoid military service, pretending to be women, and then reverting to their male forms after the war.

Later, with the introduction of Western modern medicine, transgender people (who underwent castration, similar to eunuchs in China) appeared in northern Thailand, taking estrogen. Although still considered "men," they had enlarged breasts, slender waists, and completely lost their fertility. Most Thai ladyboys are very beautiful; the only physical difference from women is usually larger hands and feet and a slightly deeper voice.

Legally, ladyboys in Thailand are classified as male.

However, the body of Mong La Chawong Prem was not a ladyboy in the traditional sense, but rather intersex, possessing both male and female sexual organs internally and externally—a hermaphrodite in zoological terms. While intersex individuals do exist, the fact that this transvestite could spontaneously conceive, become pregnant, and give birth is extremely rare.

Menglachaweng Bing, a master of sorcery, was also such a person.

The corpse oil dripping from the transvestite's jaw was pure and highly effective. If the two infants were already blood infants, they would react to the corpse oil and the sorcery; otherwise, it could temporarily render them senseless, allowing him to slowly train them. Shen

Caihua and the wrinkled baby girl were sucking the blood of the black-spotted python, while behind them, Menglachaweng Bing secretly scooped out a small amount of corpse oil with his fingers, smeared it on the backs of the two infants, then capped the bottle and carefully tucked it back into his pocket.

Menglachaweng Bing chanted a sorcery incantation while observing the infants' reactions. He finished reciting the "Little Ghost Spell" once, but to his surprise, the two little ones showed no reaction, continuing to suck the python

's blood until their little mouths were red. Menglachawong. Bing was secretly astonished. These two little fellows didn't seem to be blood infants raised by some powerful figure, so why were they so unaffected? It seemed he had to use his supreme blood-spell technique. So he took out the small glass bottle from his pocket, uncapped it, bit his tongue, and dripped his blood into the bottle, mixing it with the corpse oil. The originally paste-like, yellowish-brown corpse oil slowly turned into a vibrant rose-red liquid.

Menglachawong. Bing shook the glass bottle, then gently squatted down, grabbed Shen Caihua's ear with one hand, and poured a little into his ear canal. He then did the same to the baby girl.

Both infants were completely absorbed in sucking, having not had such a hearty meal in a long time, so they completely ignored Menglachawong. Bing's little actions.

The blood flute began to play again, a strange melody, but inaudible to the human ear because it was infrasound, below 20 Hz, while the human ear could only hear sound waves from 20 Hz to 20,000 Hz. The

wrinkled baby girl reacted first. The incantation magnetic field within her body had been largely transferred from the Yongquan acupoint through the Guilu Laogong acupoint into Shen Caihua's body, and thus could not withstand the repeated stimulation of the corpse oil in her eardrums by the evil infrasound of the blood flute. Suddenly, she became delirious, and hallucinated the ancestor before her eyes. So she slowly released her mouth, got up, and walked towards Menglachaweng. Bing, gently hugging his leg, softly calling out, "Mother..."

Although Shen Caihua's body had stored all the incantation magnetic field from Guo Gong's Burial Ruler, he did not know how to guide it, as if he were asleep, unable to activate it. But after all, he was protected by the incantation magnetic field, so his consciousness was intermittent. He also slowly stood up, looking blankly at Menglachaweng. Bing's vision shifted between images of a turbaned, barefoot, dark-skinned old man, then Liu Jinmo and Zhu Biao, finally settling on Shen Caihua.

"Mother..." he cried, rushing forward to embrace Menglachawong. Tears streamed down Bing's other thigh.

Menglachawong. Bing smiled contentedly.

Menglachawong. Holding the two infants, Bing leaped onto a boulder, sat cross-legged, untied his bulging white turban, and shook his head, his long black hair cascading down... "Mother..." Shen Caihua and the wrinkled baby girl sensed Menglachawong's presence. The womanly aura emanating from Bing caused them to cry out in unison.

"Hahaha..." Menglachawong. Bing laughed wildly.

His branch of the royal family had migrated from the Central Plains to Chiang Mai Province in northern Siam long ago, supposedly to escape persecution from enemies, and had thus remained hidden in the jungle. A secret passed down through generations within the tribe is that after several generations, a hermaphrodite will appear, a phenomenon known in modern medicine as skipped-generation inheritance. The tribe's long-standing rule is that once a hermaphrodite is born, they must be killed and buried deeply after reaching the age of nine, to prevent the birth of the same deformed individual in the next generation. Monglachawong. Bing is such a hermaphrodite. His family was once related to the Thai royal family through marriage, hence the prefix "Monglachawong" to their surname, while their original surname has been gradually forgotten.

Bing spent his childhood happily and carefree in a royal palace in the north of the country, until the day before he turned nine. He remembers it was a stormy night, and under the oil lamp, his mother told him everything.

"Do I have to leave?" Bing asked his mother, tears welling in his eyes.

"Go, child, only this way can you survive. Remember, never come back," his mother said painfully.

"Where can I go?" young Bing felt lonely and helpless.

“Go anywhere, the farther the better,” his mother said, tears streaming down her face, as she hugged him tightly.

“Where in the Central Plains were our ancestors originally from?” Bing asked.

“They say it was in Shanxi, the Guo family of Wenxi in Hedong,” his mother told him.

Bing left, and on that stormy night, he resolutely stepped into the tropical jungles of Southeast Asia. More than thirty years later, when he returned, he learned that the day after he left home, the clan chief had brought men to kill him, but unable to find him, he forced his mother to commit suicide.

In a fit of rage, Bing cast the most evil blood curse on the chieftain and his men. Despite seeking out several renowned local sorcerers, none could break the curse. Even the sorcerer himself perished, and the chieftain and others died one after another in agony. Bing finally avenged himself.

Blood curses are the most malevolent form of witchcraft in Southeast Asia, causing lifelong infertility for those who practice it. Even though Bing is intersex, he can no longer conceive naturally, and thus remains childless. Today, he unexpectedly encountered these two adorable infants, simultaneously awakening his paternal and maternal instincts. At this moment, Menglachawong felt a surge of happiness. He resolved to raise these two children, teach them the art of curses, and ensure they would one day dominate Southeast Asia.

Chapter 303:

Under the towering tree, the campfire had long since died out. Several empty cans and bottles lay scattered on the ground, crawling with fiery red ants. Behind the tree, four or five piles of dung were encircled, and more than ten dung beetles were busily carrying them away.

Onizuka crouched down, sniffed the dung heap, and turned to Kurosawa, saying, "It's dung, male, digested, normal. They've been gone for about an hour."

Huang Jianguo chuckled, saying sarcastically, "Master, you're really something, you can even tell the difference between male and female excrement."

Onizuka said seriously, "Male excrement has alcohol and enzyme fermentation, it's sour, dung beetles like it. Female excrement isn't sour, it's very smelly, dung beetles don't like it."

Huang Jianguo was stunned; he had to admire Onizuka's keen observation.

Kurosawa nodded and said, "Very good, we'll follow behind, keep our distance, and not let them spot us."

Onizuka walked ahead, continuing to track with his sensitive nose, Kurosawa and Huang Jianguo in the middle, and Old Ghost bringing up the rear, all heading deeper into the rainforest.

"I also smell a faint fishy stench," Huang Jianguo said, frowning.

"Kappa's, the smell is peculiar, strange, like a monkey's pungent odor," Onizuka said doubtfully.

Monkey? Could it be that Rama ape...? Huang Jianguo, feeling uneasy, reached into his pocket and gripped the two grenades tightly.

The tropical rainforest was hot and humid; soon, everyone was drenched in sweat. The smell of sweat attracted swarms of mosquitoes, and Huang Jianguo's exposed skin was covered in welts.

Ugh, this is awful. Thinking back to the comfortable days in the secluded mansion of Wuyuan, those days are gone forever. Right, and Mingyue... when he first saw her, he was utterly astonished. Such a pure girl! Remembering that night, their tryst in the flowers... Huang Jianguo felt a slight erection... Wait a minute! Aren't his testicles gone? How can he still get hard?

At that moment, Huang Jianguo felt something sticky in his crotch and quickly reached in to touch it—wow! His hands were covered in bright red blood… He yelled out, then unbuckled his belt and pulled down his pants and underwear… Kurosawa and the others stopped at the sound and leaned closer to see. Four or five dark red leeches clung to the shriveled scrotum, and three more were clinging to the glans, desperately sucking blood from the corpora cavernosa… “These are tropical rainforest leeches. Their suckers can numb the nerves, making them completely undetectable. They detach naturally after they’ve had their fill, but the platelets in the subcutaneous capillaries need a while to coagulate,” Kurosawa explained.

Huang Jianguo sighed and reached out to pull them off, but the leeches’ suckers were firmly attached to the skin and flesh, impossible to tear off.

Onizuka chuckled, pulled a lighter from his pocket, lit it, and used the flame to singe the leeches. The dark red creatures couldn’t withstand the high temperature and released their suckers, falling to the ground.

Huang Jianguo bent down and picked them up one by one, throwing them into his mouth in a fit of rage, crunching them to pieces as blood trickled down his chin.

He licked the blood from his lower lip, feeling a sudden hunger pang. "Let's eat some more meat," he said.

Kurosawa glanced at the sky and nodded, so they sat down for a bite.

Old Gui took out the meat from Kozuka's thigh from his backpack; there wasn't much left, so they shared it.

"Next, we'll have to hunt some wild animals, so the taste might be a bit off," Kurosawa sighed.

"It's a pity we're missing some chili sauce," Huang Jianguo said regretfully, swallowing Kozuka's last toe and spitting out the toenail.

After resting for a while, Huang Jianguo and his group continued their journey. The jungle grew increasingly dark. They followed a stream, its banks covered in wet, slippery, dark green moss.

“There are no paths in the jungle, let’s follow the stream. Wu Zhongxiao, we have experienced ones,” Onizuka explained.

They walked until sunset, when white mist rose from the dense forest, shrouding everything in a hazy glow.

They found several empty cans and cigarette butts by the stream, and Onizuka’s nose twitched.

“These are theirs. We’ll rest here. The longest we can go is an hour,” Onizuka said.

“Onizuka, find a place to camp. Make sure the campfire is well hidden,” Kurosawa instructed. The rainforest was rife with miasma; a campfire was absolutely essential.

“We have some female excrement,” Onizuka said, pushing aside the bushes.

Huang Jianguo stood silently before a small pile of golden feces. He knew it must be Mingyue’s excrement, and this reminded him of her smooth, delicate, and faintly fragrant body. A series of cold laughs escaped his lips. One day, he would definitely roast her flesh and eat it; the taste would far surpass Onizuka’s.

"Over there, there's a cave." Onizuka pointed to the cliff face to his side, where a cave entrance was vaguely visible, surrounded by blood vines.

Kurosawa nodded; a cave for shelter from the wind and rain was ideal.

The cave was pitch black. Onizuka switched on his flashlight and shone it inside. The cave was deep, with no end in sight. Some yellowish-brown bones were scattered on the ground. He picked one up, sniffed it, and said, "This is a human bone."

"A human bone?" Huang Jianguo asked hurriedly.

"A collarbone, it's been there for a long time." Onizuka casually tossed it to the ground with a "thud.

" "Squeak..." As if some animal had been startled, a sound came from inside the cave. Huang Jianguo reached into his pocket and gripped the grenade tightly.

Further into the cave, there were more and more human bones scattered on the ground, and even a few skulls.

"What's that!" Huang Jianguo suddenly pointed ahead and said nervously.

Under the flashlight beam, several black and white animals, about the size of house cats, stood in a row, staring at them in surprise while simultaneously pawing at them. Then their tails rose, and their forelegs stood upright… Huang Jianguo looked closer and realized they were just small jungle animals. He smiled and walked forward reassuredly, saying to Kurosawa, “I’ll catch a couple to roast.”

“Dangerous…” Onizuka warned from the side.

In a flash, each of the small animals spewed out a stream of incredibly foul-smelling yellow liquid from their anuses, enveloping Huang Jianguo.

Huang Jianguo felt a sudden tightness in his chest, then his body went limp, and he slowly collapsed. He vaguely heard Onizuka’s voice: “Skunks, those are…” Huang Jianguo

fell straight to the ground.

Kurosawa frowned and said, "Onizuka, wake him up."

Onizuka stepped forward to help, but at that moment, Huang Jianguo slowly sat up on his own, his nose twitching rapidly, his mouth open as he inhaled large gulps of the yellow, foul-smelling smoke... "I understand, it's not the ordinary skunk, it's the corpse weasel," Onizuka suddenly realized.

Huang Jianguo took a deep drag, the yellow smoke dissipated, and he immediately stood up, turning to Onizuka and saying, "This smell is truly invigorating."

Onizuka smiled slightly and said, "Jianguo-kun, these are... corpse weasels."

"Corpse weasels?" Huang Jianguo asked, puzzled.

"There are many corpses in this cave, rotting flesh, which skunks love. Over time, they mutate into corpse weasels, releasing a corpse odor," Onizuka explained.

"Where did these corpses come from?" Huang Jianguo asked suspiciously.

Kurosawa paused, his expression serious, and said, "It seems we've arrived at the Savage Mountain. Tens of thousands of Chinese Expeditionary Force soldiers died here, and our Imperial Army also lost more than 20,000 soldiers."

The old ghost drew the broken half of his "Kanze Masamune" katana with one hand, grinned, and slashed at the corpse weasels.

"Squeak..." The corpse weasels turned sharply and fled into the depths of the cave, the old ghost brandishing his sword in pursuit.

Deep inside the cave, there were indeed many yellowish-brown skeletons. Due to the dampness inside, the cotton fabrics had long since decayed, making it impossible to identify the deceased. Only some rusty guns were scattered on the ground, including American carbines and Japanese Type 38 rifles.

"The remains here are from both sides, it seems there was a brutal battle," Kurosawa said casually, glancing at Huang Jianguo.

Huang Jianguo took a look and then said, "These Chinese were all stubborn Kuomintang reactionaries. It's good that they died, but many of our Japanese soldiers also sacrificed their lives, buried in a foreign land. I feel a little sad..."

"Hmm, Jianguo-kun, it's good that you think that way. I'm very pleased. After returning to Tokyo, you can secretly acquire Japanese citizenship while undergoing your transplant surgery," Kurosawa said approvingly.

"That's exactly what I'd like to hear," Huang Jianguo said, feigning excitement. Hmph, once the yin energy kicks in, who cares?

A campfire was lit, dispelling the dampness. Old Ghost carried the two skunk carcasses to the stream, skinned and gutted them, carefully cutting off their scent glands and popping them directly into his mouth, chewing with satisfaction.

After cleaning them, he skewered them with a stick and returned to the cave entrance, placing them on the campfire to roast. As the fat sizzled, a fragrant aroma filled the air.

In the wild banana grove opposite the cave, a gaunt figure silently watched them.

Chapter 304:

Upstream from the stream, beyond the valley, on the back of the mountain peak lay a dense forest of camphor trees, where a huge redwood tree grew. Its upper half had been destroyed by lightning, but the lower half, having withstood a century of wind and rain, still stood there immortally, emitting a faint fragrance of resinous wood every night.

On the hillside beneath the tree, mounds of graves, silently hidden by the bushes, have remained unnoticed for decades, the final resting place of countless soldiers of the Chinese Expeditionary Force.

Lu Taiguan, Han Sheng, and others camped under this giant tree, lighting a bonfire. They sat around the fire, listening to Lu Taiguan recount the tragic and heroic history of the Chinese Expeditionary Force… In the summer of 1942, after the defeat of 100,000 Chinese Expeditionary Force soldiers, except for General Sun Liren leading a part of the 38th Division into India, the main force, under the command of Commander Du Yuming, retreated north into the wild and untamed Hukawng Valley, embarking on a perilous march.

The troops, lightly equipped, ventured into the primeval forest and retreated towards the Hukawng Valley. The Savage Mountain was desolate and uninhabited, overgrown with thorns and teeming with venomous snakes and wild beasts. The forests were particularly plagued by leeches and venomous mosquitoes, and the resulting miasma was rampant. When their provisions ran out, they first slaughtered horses for food. After that, they had to hunt wild monkeys or catch live snakes, rats, frogs, and other small animals to fill their stomachs. When no animals could be caught, they ate the roots of wild banana trees, wild fruits, or leaves. Before eating anything unfamiliar, they would chew it; if it numbed, it was poisonous, and they would immediately spit it out. Many soldiers died from severe diarrhea and vomiting after consuming poisonous or unclean food.

It was the rainy season, making the roads slippery and muddy, making progress extremely difficult. Many contracted malaria, relapsing fever, tetanus, and other diseases. Every day, countless soldiers died of starvation, disease, or from eating poisonous fruit; the stench of corpses lingered for miles along the way, and piles of bones littered the landscape. After being lost and tormented for more than two months in that dark and gloomy primeval forest, the soldiers became unrecognizable, disheveled and indistinguishable from ghosts. Half of the elite Chinese Expeditionary Force perished in the Savage Mountain, and General Dai Anlan, the commander of the 200th Division and a renowned anti-Japanese general, also died for his country and is buried here.

"Six thousand wounded soldiers couldn't walk anymore. They asked their commander for the last few barrels of gasoline, and they piled on top of each other, poured the gasoline on themselves, and set themselves on fire..." At this point, Lu Taiguan began to sob softly, and while choking back tears, he began to sing the Chinese Expeditionary Force's military song: "Have you not seen, Zhong Jun of Han, at the age of twenty, bound the enemy and volunteered for a long spear? Have you not seen, Ban Dingyuan, light cavalry urging on the battle clouds in the distant lands?

A man should be prepared for perilous journeys, how can a scholar's cap ruin his life?

Especially when the nation is in grave danger, with urgent dispatches flying without pause!

Abandoning my former pen, donning my wartime uniform, with one call, over a hundred thousand comrades, singing war songs, all joining the army..." Lu Taiguan broke down in sobs, and the military song abruptly stopped... "Joining the army, clearing away the barbarian dust, vowing to sweep away the Japanese invaders without regard for our lives! Suppressing our longing for home,

we..."

With generous hearts, they offered their patriotic sacrifices.

Smiles brightly as they marched to the battlefield, their banners fluttering, obscuring the sun's light. Their breath lifted the sun to the heavens, their

arrows striking the heavens. In a year, they recaptured Nanjing, pacifying Hebei, Shandong, Jilin, and Heilongjiang in succession. Their warships broke through the waves of the Liaodong Peninsula, their iron birds swooping down on Tokyo!

In one night, they shattered the Japanese invaders' lair, turning the Pacific Ocean crimson. The Han flag flew atop Mount Fuji, and

beneath the cherry blossoms, the barbarian concubines reveled. Upon their return, thousands lined the streets to watch, showering their horses with flowers. Their doors gleamed with pride, their white hair beaming, their villages filled with joy and radiant smiles.

Their first achievement is etched in the annals of Chinese history, forever proclaiming China's might. Their lingering power will punish injustice, ensuring that all humanity on Earth basks in the glory of the Han Dynasty! "

Lu Taiguan silently rose solemnly, and everyone's gaze turned to the dark forest… "Whoosh…" A mountain wind rose, rustling the leaves.

"Isn't this the immortal soul of the Chinese Expeditionary Force?" Han Sheng's heart was filled with reverence.

The moonlight was as clear as water, and the sound of rustling footsteps came from the depths of the woods. Several disheveled, unkempt savages with hair and beards reaching their shoulders appeared in the bushes. They wore animal skins around their waists, were shirtless, and carried American carbines.

The bodyguards hurriedly drew their pistols, but Lu Taiguan stopped them with a gesture. Then, facing the few savages, he said softly, "Wu Taiguan,

Lieutenant Colonel and Regimental Commander of the 38th Division of the Chinese Expeditionary Force." A silent silence followed… Lu Taiguan couldn't see the savages' faces, but he seemed to have a premonition of something. He then softly began to sing Major General Dai Anlan's "Battlefield March": "Brothers, march forward!

Brothers, march forward!

The responsibility of five thousand years of history has fallen on our shoulders, has fallen on our shoulders.

The Japanese invaders want to destroy our country and enslave our nation.

We do not want to be slaves of a conquered nation, we do not want to be slaves of a conquered nation.

Only by fighting to the death, only by fighting to the death, only by fighting to the death!

" The savages wept, threw down their weapons, and slowly approached… "Who are you…" Lu Taiguan asked softly.

"Sir, we are from the 200th Division of the 5th Army of the Expeditionary Force. I am Lieutenant Dai Bingguo, the company commander. Sir, you have finally come..." The leader of the savages straightened up, tears streaming down his face, and respectfully saluted Lu Taiguan.

Lu Taiguan was stunned, stammering, "You...you are still alive..."

"Yes, sir. In May of the 31st year of the Republic of China, General Dai, on his deathbed, ordered my company to stay behind to collect and guard the remains of the fallen soldiers of the Expeditionary Force. He said that after the victory of the War of Resistance, the Chinese government would send people to take their remains back home," said Lieutenant Dai Bingguo.

"You have been waiting here all these years!" Lu Taiguan was stunned.

"Sir, what year of the Republic of China is it now?" Dai Bingguo asked, speaking with an Anhui accent.

"1976," Lu Taiguan paused, then continued, "The sixty-fifth year of the Republic of China."

"Ah... thirty-four years already!" Dai Bingguo sighed blankly, tears welling up in his eyes.

"Why don't you go back to China?" Lu Taiguan asked.

"Sir, we've been waiting, longing for the higher-ups to send someone to take us and these remains back home, but year after year has passed, and the order has never come..." Dai Bingguo said sadly.

Lu Taiguan said softly, "Alas... the Nationalist army has already been defeated and fled to Taiwan. Now it's the Republic of China's world, don't you know?"

Dai Bingguo was stunned, stammering, "You mean China is no longer Chiang Kai-shek's? You weren't sent by the higher-ups to take us back home?"

Lu Taiguan was silent for a long time, then had to tell him this cruel reality: "You have long been forgotten."

The campfire crackled and popped, and everyone fell silent, except for the mournful howling of the wind.

"How many men are left in your company?" After a long silence, Lu Taiguan asked softly.

"Reporting, sir, five," Dai Bingguo replied.

"Only five?" Lu Taiguan asked in surprise.

"Yes, sir. In 1942, when my company was ordered to stay here, it was a full-strength unit with 234 men. Now only the five of us are left. The rest are dead." Dai Bingguo's pain was palpable.

"You have suffered," Lu Taiguan sighed, looking at them, barely clothed, and then said, "You can go home now."

"Is that an order, sir?" Dai Bingguo asked, standing at attention.

"Yes, I, Lieutenant Colonel Wu Taiguan, am acting on the orders of General Sun Liren, commander of the 38th Division of the Chinese Expeditionary Force, ordering Lieutenant Dai Bingguo of the 200th Division to lead his troops back to China immediately," Lu Taiguan said solemnly.

"Yes, sir!" Dai Bingguo and the other four soldiers immediately burst into tears... Han Sheng couldn't help but shed tears as well. By the campfire, Mingyue was already a weeping mess.

Lu Taiguan instructed his bodyguards to take out all the canned food, cigarettes, and alcohol from their backpacks and give them to eat.

"It's been over thirty years, and this is the first time I've tasted wine from my hometown," Dai Bingguo said with emotion, shaking the bottle of Gujinggong liquor in his hand.

"Are you from Anhui?" Lu Taiguan asked.

"Lianxi Township, Wuwei," Dai Bingguo said proudly, taking a deep drag on his Daqianmen cigarette.

"So you're from the same hometown as General Dai Anlan. And the others?" Lu Taiguan inquired.

The soldiers replied one after another: "Tongcheng, Anhui."

"I'm also from Tongcheng, Anhui, Luoling.

" "Shaoyang, Hunan

." "Wuyuan, Jiangxi."

Han Sheng's heart skipped a beat, and he quickly looked at the elderly man with a full white beard, respectfully saying, "Hello, are you from Wuyuan?"

"Huangcun, Wengong Mountain, Wuyuan," the old man said.

Han Sheng was overjoyed and quickly said, "My surname is Zhu, and I'm also from Wuyuan, from Nanshan Town. Cousin, we're from the same hometown!"

"Ah, little cousin, tell me about our hometown in Jiangxi!" the old man said impatiently, even choking on his drink.

"Uncle, what's your surname?" Han Sheng asked.

"My

surname is Huang," the old man said. "Huang? Then you and Huang Qiansui are from the same clan?" Han Sheng asked in surprise.

"Huang Qiansui? I have a cousin named Huang Qiansui, whose nickname is 'Qiansui'. Do you know him? How is he now?" the old man asked with a smile, a cigarette between his fingers.

"Huang Qiansui, he's dead," Han Sheng said calmly, the scene of the Huang family father and son on the cliff that night still vivid in his mind.

"Is his father, my cousin, Old Master Huang, still alive?" the old man continued, his eyes filled with deep homesickness.

"He's dead too," Han Sheng replied, sighing inwardly. Alas, he'd been buried alive in the Yin energy field by his son and grandson.

"There's an unnamed nunnery at the foot of Wengong Mountain, and a nun in it. I wonder if she's still alive?" The old man was lost in memories.

"The unnamed nun is dead too," Han Sheng said.

"Oh, how vicissitudes of life! By the way, young man, you seem to know quite a bit about our Huang family?" the old man asked, somewhat puzzled.

"Huang Qianhui is the magistrate of Wuyuan County, so naturally the people talk a lot about his family," Han Sheng replied, finding some things best left unsaid.

"What else do you know about Huang Village?" the old man continued, his interest piqued.

"Huang Qianhui has a son named Huang Jianguo. I saw him in the Nujiang River Valley a few days ago, but he's now working with the Japanese," Han Sheng said.

"Ah, such a rebellious act?" the old man frowned.

“Hansheng is right, we all saw it. That little devil is from the Mikuru Division,” Lu Taiguan interjected.

“Beast! How can a member of the Huang family mingle with a Japanese devil? If I see him, I’ll cripple his leg!” The old man said, his face flushed with hatred.

Hansheng glanced at Mingyue and saw her sigh as she stood up and walked silently towards the stream. She must be feeling terrible too.

Lu Taiguan looked at Dai Bingguo and asked thoughtfully, “Lieutenant, do you have any soldiers from Xiushan, Hunan in your company?”

Dai Bingguo thought for a moment and shook his head, saying, “No, sir.”

“Alas, in this vast forest, where have the souls of my Wu family sons from Taohuajiang gone?” Lu Taiguan sighed to himself.

"Peach Blossom River?" Dai Bingguo's face was flushed from drinking, and he hummed a tune familiar to Lu Taiguan: "Peach Blossom River is a haven of beauties, thousands of peach blossoms, but none can compare to the number of beauties..."

"Eh? Lieutenant, how come you can sing our hometown song?" Lu Taiguan asked in surprise.

"Sir, several of us can sing it," Lieutenant Dai Bingguo said with a smile.

"This is a song from our hometown, Peach Blossom River. Who taught you?" Lu Taiguan said.

"The Bald Old Woman," several soldiers answered in unison.

Chapter 305

Lu Taiguan was stunned upon hearing this and hurriedly asked, "Where is the Bald Old Woman?"

Dai Bingguo shook his head and said, "I haven't heard her sing for many years."

"Lieutenant, what exactly happened?" Lu Taiguan pressed.

"Sir, one autumn night, I remember the moon was round and large. At such times, it always stirred up homesickness in the soldiers. Everyone missed their fathers, wives, and children, and tears streamed down their faces. Then, we heard a woman's song faintly drifting from the tree fern forest on the opposite mountain. We were all astonished. There could be no woman in this desolate, primeval forest; it must be the voice of a ghost. I led the soldiers to tiptoe across the ravine and saw a bald woman standing on the opposite hillside in the moonlight, with a golden-furred mother ape beside her, cradling a nursing baby ape in her arms.

We were all stunned. We lowered our guns and stood there silently, listening to the bald old woman sing 'Peach Blossom River is a Beauty's Nest.' The melody was beautiful, the voice sweet and clear. We were all captivated, and no one wanted to disturb them..." Lieutenant Dai Bingguo recalled.

"And then what happened?" Lu Taiguan asked eagerly.

"The bald old woman sang sadly several times, then disappeared into the jungle with the mountain apes. The next night, we went there again to wait, hoping to hear the bald old woman's enchanting song again, but we never saw her or the mountain ape mother and child again. Later, everyone sang the whole song, line by line. We concluded that she was probably the ghost of a wronged woman, perhaps she had traveled a long way from her hometown to find her husband or son, perhaps she was a relative of one of our Chinese Expeditionary Force soldiers, like Meng Jiangnu searching for her husband in ancient times." Dai Bingguo seemed moved by the scene, his eyes reddening.

Lu Taiguan sighed and said, "That's right, she came to find the 64 members of the Wu family from Xiushan in Peach Blossom River."

"Isn't she a ghost? But how could a woman cross this wild, primeval forest..." Dai Bingguo said doubtfully.

“She’s my aunt, and I’ve come to see her,” Lu Taiguan said silently, gazing at the campfire. He added two more twigs and hummed a folk song from his hometown: “I heard people say that Peach Blossom River is a haven of beauties, and even thousands of peach blossoms can’t compare to the number of beauties…”

Lieutenant Dai Bingguo and the other soldiers joined in the soft chorus, the poignant melody filled with deep homesickness… After a while, Dai Bingguo asked in a low voice, puzzled, “Sir, what’s that human-bodied, monkey-faced creature with the white-browed gibbon?”

Lu Taiguan turned and looked, saying, “Oh, it’s a kappa. Hmm… where did the kappa go?”

A bodyguard replied, “Boss, first Mingyue went to the stream, and then the kappa followed.”

Lu Taiguan nodded and ordered, “Send someone to check on it, make sure nothing’s wrong.”

“Yes, sir.” The bodyguard stood up and hurried away.

After days of trekking through the sweltering primeval forest, Mingyue was covered in sticky sweat and felt somewhat unsightly. So, she avoided the crowds, walked to the upper reaches of the stream, found a secluded spot, stripped off all her clothes, and jumped into the cool water.

The bright moonlight, the tranquil forest, the light mist, the soft chirping of insects… Mingyue gently splashed the cool water, her full, slender body blending into the pale moonlight. Her fair skin was sprinkled with glistening water droplets, like countless moons twinkling. At that moment, she seemed like a beautiful forest sprite, fully enjoying the tranquility of nature.

“So beautiful…” A surprised exclamation drifted into Mingyue's mind.

“Who?” Mingyue turned around alertly.

Beneath the moonlight in the woods by the stream, an ugly, lewd figure stood awkwardly, his eyes fixed on her naked body. A foul stench filled the air, and his erect penis stood stiffly erect… “Kappa! You… how dare you peep at someone bathing?” Mingyue suddenly squatted down in the water, angrily demanding.

“I…” Kappa blushed, stammering out a mental plea, “I’m going to marry you anyway…”

“Get away!” Mingyue shouted.

The kappa turned and took two steps, then turned back reluctantly, saying, "You are the most beautiful woman I have seen in hundreds of years."

Mingyue raised her face, gazing at the vast night sky, and couldn't help but sigh deeply. Alas, that heartless Huang Jianguo, though a human, was not even as good as a kappa, an animal... The kappa received Mingyue's thoughts and was overjoyed. It hurriedly sent a message: "Miss Mingyue, let the kappa stay on the shore with you and protect you, okay?"

Mingyue shook her head and said sadly, "Go."

The kappa retreated slowly into the jungle, feeling wronged... "Are you... a woman?" At this moment, a timid voice came from the shadows at the foot of the cliff, its pronunciation extremely strange... "Who is it!" Mingyue was startled and hurriedly shouted.

A golden-furred mountain ape emerged from the shadows of the cliff. Slightly taller than the kappa, it possessed well-developed pectoral muscles and a robust physique. A large glans was faintly visible among its golden fur; it was a young male mountain ape.

Mingyue was astonished and exclaimed, "You…you're a talking monkey!"

A "plop…" sound came from the edge of the jungle, followed by a "splashing…" sound of water. Mingyue turned around and saw that the kappa had first farted, then urinated, trembling all over.

Mountain apes were the kappa's nemesis, a trait inherited from ancient times. Although this kappa had never seen a mountain ape before, its innate fear was palpable. So, the moment the mountain ape appeared, the kappa deflated, its legs trembling, and it defecated and urinated.

"You're a mountain ape!" Mingyue immediately realized this was no ordinary monkey.

The mountain ape approached, grabbed Mingyue's clothes that she had left on the shore, and sniffed them carefully before cautiously saying, "These clothes smell very nice."

It was unbelievable that the mountain ape could speak human language.

"How could you possibly understand human language?" Mingyue asked, utterly astonished.

"I understand, but I can't speak it well," the mountain ape replied, its pronunciation indeed very stiff.

Mingyue scrutinized the wondrous mountain ape and carefully asked, "How did you learn human language?"

"My mother and I were taught by the bald old woman," the mountain ape said.

"Mingyue, get out of the way!" someone shouted from the jungle, followed by the sound of a bullet being chambered. The bodyguard had arrived just in time.

In the moonlight, the bodyguard stood with his legs spread, gun in both hands, aimed at the mountain ape, and swiftly pulled the trigger.

A deafening gunshot rang out, echoing through the mountains and valleys, filling the air with the pungent smell of gunpowder.

The bullet struck the mountain ape in the shoulder. The ape cried out in pain, then suddenly leaped across the stream with lightning speed, its claws tearing open the bodyguard's stomach with a sharp, tearing sound, pulling out a bloody heart.

The bodyguard stared in disbelief at the still-twitching heart in the ape's hand, then slowly collapsed.

The ape threw the heart away, glanced at the trembling kappa, then jumped into the stream, washed the blood off its hands, and grinned at Mingyue, revealing two rows of neat, yellow buck teeth.

"Are you a woman?" it asked timidly, eyeing Mingyue's ample breasts.

Mingyue nodded, her hands raised in a tense, defensive stance.

"The bald old woman said I need a woman," the ape said shyly.

Mingyue looked at the mountain ape and noticed a small hole in its right shoulder, from which blood gushed, staining its golden fur red.

"You can't just kill people," Mingyue said warily.

"I'm taking you away," the mountain ape said, reaching out its left arm to pull Mingyue up.

Mingyue chanted a spell, moving her palms horizontally, using the first move of the Zhu You Divine Skill, "Ghost Wall. "

Unexpectedly, the mountain ape was unmoved; its hairy, powerful arm easily gripped Mingyue's bare waist and lifted her out of the water.

Mingyue was horrified; the Zhu You Divine Skill had no effect on the mountain ape! Her head buzzed, and she was momentarily at a loss, her legs kicking wildly.

"Don't take my woman away!" A dark shadow flashed, and the kappa fearlessly plunged into the stream.

The kappa leaped into the water, but instead of immediately launching a rescue, it crouched in the stream and began splashing water into the depression above its head with its paws.

The mountain monkey stared in astonishment; it was the first time in its life it had seen such a peculiar creature as a kappa, but deep down it still harbored an innate contempt for it.

"What are you doing, you monster?" the mountain ape asked curiously.

"I'm filling the basin with water, mountain ape, please release my woman!" The kappa's thoughts reached the mountain ape's brain.

"Is that you speaking to me in human language?" The mountain ape received the kappa's mental energy and became increasingly puzzled.

"It's me, I'm a kappa, and this woman is my wife." The kappa continued filling the depression with water.

"What's a wife?" the mountain ape asked, puzzled.

"To put it simply, only a woman can be a wife. You sleep with her, and only then can you have offspring." the kappa explained.

"Who gives birth?" the mountain ape asked. "

Ah, you don't understand anything? Of course, it's the woman who gives birth." The kappa's thoughts grew impatient.

"Like when my mother gave birth to me?" The mountain ape seemed to understand a little, then asked with a strong thirst for knowledge, "Where was it born? From its mouth?"

"Good heavens, it's an idiot. Of course, it was born from under its butt. Look, right here, come closer and see clearly..." The kappa stuck out its butt, revealing three anus holes between its brown curly hair.

The mountain ape curiously leaned closer to observe, feeling puzzled.

Just then, the brown curly hair between the kappa's legs suddenly parted to the sides with a muffled "plop," and the fleshy hole in the middle flipped open, spewing out a plume of yellow smoke that hit the mountain ape's face. Then, a yellowish-green viscous liquid spurted out of the hole above, directly hitting the mountain ape's face, which was inches away... The mountain ape almost suffocated. It was a stench he had never smelled before. His head spun, and his hand loosened, causing Mingyue to fall into the water. The mountain ape immediately turned to retrieve it, and it was this turn of the head that saved him from the kappa's highly corrosive venom.

The venom splattered on the back of the mountain ape's head, hissing and burning its golden fur, emitting a burnt smell.

The kappa's deadly weapons were poisonous smoke and venom; Kozuka had died from it, even her eyes burned raw by the venom.

The mountain ape, realizing it had fallen into the kappa's trap, flew into a rage, lashing out with its claws at the kappa's rear. With a "swoosh," even though the kappa dodged quickly, a large chunk of skin and fur was torn away, revealing the bloody flesh beneath.

The kappa gritted its teeth, enduring the pain. In front of its woman, it had to appear strong and provide sufficient protection.

The kappa turned and grabbed the mountain ape's wounded shoulder, pushing it forcefully outwards… The hollow on the top of its head was filled with water, giving it immense strength, causing the mountain ape to stumble and nearly fall into the water.

The mountain ape lashed out, kicking the kappa in the stomach. The kappa was sent flying, crashing heavily onto the bank.

The mountain ape, an ancient ape that failed to evolve into humans, possessed immense strength in its limbs, capable of snapping trees as thick as bowls with a single kick. The kappa's flesh and blood could not withstand the blow; its stomach churned violently, and it vomited a mouthful of blood, stomach acid, and several undigested small fish. Taking advantage of the moment,

Mingyue quickly slipped ashore and put on her clothes.

At this moment, Lu Taiguan arrived with his bodyguards and Lieutenant Dai Bingguo.

"Prepare to fire!" Lu Taiguan ordered, and pistols and carbines were all aimed at the mountain ape in the stream.

Chapter 306

"Don't fire! The mountain ape knows where the bald old woman is!" Mingyue cried urgently.

Hearing this, Lu Taiguan quickly waved his hand, and everyone lowered their guns.

Mingyue breathed a sigh of relief and said, "The mountain ape knows where the bald old woman is, and it even learned human language from her."

Lu Taiguan's gaze slowly shifted from the brutally murdered body of the bodyguard to the mountain ape still standing in the stream, sulking. The ape couldn't understand why the kappa had deceived it; the yellow smoke reeked of a foul stench, and a large patch of fur on the back of its head was burned away.

"Mountain ape, do you understand human language?" Lu Taiguan asked slowly.

The mountain ape nodded, rubbing the wound on its right shoulder.

"You know the bald old woman?" Lu Taiguan continued.

The mountain ape replied in a strange voice, "It's the bald old woman."

Lu Taiguan nodded, guiding, "Good, the bald old woman. Where is she now?"

"In the cave," the mountain ape said.

Lu Taiguan was overjoyed and hurriedly said, "Will you take us to find her?"

The mountain ape shook its head and said, "No, I have to take a woman back with me. That's what the bald old woman said."

"What woman?" Lu Taiguan asked, puzzled.

"This is a woman. With a woman, there will be a little mountain ape." The mountain ape gazed tenderly at Mingyue standing on the shore, pointing at her.

Everyone was astonished. Lu Taiguan frowned and said, "What's your name? Do you have a name?"

"My surname is Yuan. The bald old woman said I'm stupid, like a block of wood, so my formal name is Yuanmu, and my nickname is Mutou (Wood)," the mountain ape said憨憨地.

Upon hearing this, Lu Taiguan shook his head and said, "The bald old woman is mistaken. For a mountain ape to possess such human-like intelligence is already exceptionally clever. Yuanmu, you are an ape, while Miss Mingyue is a human. The woman you are looking for is not her."

Yuanmu, pleased that Lu Taiguan praised its intelligence, dispelled its hostility and hurriedly asked, "Tell me, who is the woman I'm looking for?"

Lu Taiguan looked back and saw that when they ran over after hearing the gunshot, the white-browed gibbon had followed behind, now perched on a bush, gazing reservedly in their direction.

"It's her. This is the woman you're looking for," Lu Taiguan said, pointing to the gibbon.

Ape Wood's eyes glanced at the white-browed gibbon sitting upright in the bushes, then looked back at Mingyue, compared them, and finally shook his head decisively, pointing at Mingyue and saying, "This woman is prettier. I don't want that white-browed woman."

Lu Taiguan thought for a moment and coaxed the mountain ape, saying, "Wood, why don't you take us to see the bald old woman, and let her judge which woman is suitable for you?"

"I like this one without hair," the mountain ape said stubbornly.

Han Sheng squatted down, grabbed the kappa's webbed left hand, felt around and found its pulse on its wrist, cut three points, felt for a while, then switched to its right hand. To his surprise, the kappa's pulse was no different from a human's. A human hand has six pulses: the left hand for the heart, liver, kidneys, and bladder; the right hand for the lungs, spleen, stomach, and life gate. The kappa's "three points and nine pulses" were all hesitant pulses, difficult and unsmooth, like a light knife scraping bamboo, indicating signs of qi stagnation and blood stasis in its internal organs.

"The kappa's internal organs have been severely injured by external force," Han Sheng told Lu Taiguan.

"Is it serious? Is it treatable?" Lu Taiguan asked.

"Hmm, not too serious," Han Sheng thought for a moment and said, "Although the kappa's six meridians are the same as a human's, it is not human after all. Let me think about it. Also, I see that the mountain monkey has been shot in the shoulder. The bullet needs to be removed and treated for inflammation."

Lu Taiguan nodded and then said to the mountain monkey, "Wood, your right shoulder is injured. If the bullet is still inside, it needs to be pulled out, otherwise it will fester. Do you understand?"

"Bullet?" The monkey thought for a moment, then poked its long-fingered finger into the bullet hole, frowned, and then pried hard, finally pulling out a small, blood-stained copper bullet. "Is this it?" it asked.

Han Sheng was shocked and quickly said, "Yes, that's it. Let me treat your wound."

Ape-wood shook his head, spat some saliva onto his hand with a "smack," then smeared it on his wound, spitting twice more when it seemed insufficient.

"Not bad, one's own saliva is a good anti-inflammatory medicine. Wild animals mostly heal themselves; this Ape-wood is quite clever," Han Sheng sincerely praised.

"Wood, you killed someone, I won't pursue it, just take us to the bald old woman's cave," Lu Taiguan urged.

Ape-wood glanced at Mingyue and asked softly, "Will you be my woman?"

Mingyue felt somewhat amused, but still firmly shook her head and said, "Ape-wood, you're just a mountain ape; you should find your own kind."

"I have no kind. Before my mother died, she told me that only Wood was left in the forest..." Ape-wood's voice was low and deep, sounding very sad.

Mingyue was startled, silent for a moment, then asked softly, "What about your father?"

Ape-wood shook his head and said, "Father... what's that? I don't know, my mother never mentioned it."

At this moment, Lu Taiguan coughed lightly, gesturing for Mingyue to come closer; he had something to say.

“Mingyue, could you pretend to agree for now, and then deal with it after we find the bald old woman?” Lu Taiguan whispered.

“This…” Mingyue hesitated, feeling it was a bit unkind to deceive this simple-minded mountain ape.

“Humans and apes are not the same kind after all. Its request is unreasonable.” Lu Taiguan explained.

“Alright, but promise me you won’t kill it. Let’s keep this last mountain ape in the forest.” Mingyue sighed softly.

The ape stood in the stream, its pitiful eyes fixed on Mingyue, looking pleading.

“No…you’re my woman…” the kappa angrily uttered a series of thoughts.

“Alright, ape, I agree. Now can you take us to find the bald old woman?” Mingyue said to the mountain ape.

Upon hearing this, Yuanmu leaped out of the water and landed beside Mingyue, grinning broadly to reveal two rows of yellow buck teeth. He glanced at the kappa sitting on the ground and proudly declared, "She's my woman."

The kappa's face contorted with extreme pain. Unable to protect his woman, she had been snatched away by his nemesis, the mountain monkey. He felt deep regret and helplessness.

Yuanmu knelt down in front of Mingyue and said, "I'll carry the woman."

Mingyue hesitated for a moment, then climbed onto the mountain monkey's broad back, clutching its golden fur.

"Let's go," Lu Taiguan commanded.

Lu Taiguan's three bodyguards, along with Lieutenant Dai Bingguo and others, gathered large pebbles from the stream and built a makeshift grave, burying their deceased colleague.

Lu Taiguan stood silently before the grave, sighing deeply. This bodyguard had served him for many years; his elderly mother still lay at home. He could only offer him more money as compensation upon returning to Hong Kong.

When the gunshot rang out, the old woman was defecating in the bushes behind a big tree. Mosquitoes kept biting her plump buttocks, making her annoyed and slapping them repeatedly. By the time she emerged from the woods, pulling up her pants and baring her breasts, everyone had already gone to the stream.

The old woman sat by the campfire, lost in thought. At that moment, she missed her daughter the most. She wondered how worried her two babies would be if they couldn't find her. These five men from the Chinese Expeditionary Force had been in the primeval forest for over thirty years and certainly hadn't been with a woman before, otherwise they wouldn't have been staring at her breasts. Considering they were also heroes of the anti-Japanese war, she simply left her clothes unbuttoned, letting them feast their eyes on her ample bosom. Especially that Lieutenant Dai; from his burning gaze, she could tell he was in love with her. Alas, but she had to stick to her principles no matter what. Just

as she was lost in thought, Lieutenant Dai Bingguo returned with his men.

“Big Sister, the commander has ordered us to set off immediately,” Lieutenant Dai Bingguo said, his gaze still lingering on the old woman’s chest.

The old woman smiled, stood up, straightened her back, rubbed her breasts, and said apologetically, “Without the baby, my milk is engorged.”

Dai Bingguo stared at her intently, swallowing unconsciously.

“Old Woman, let’s go,” Han Sheng called out from ahead.

They extinguished the campfire, picked up their backpacks, and set off.

The mountain ape carried Mingyue across the stream and walked ahead along a forest path, followed closely by Han Sheng, Lu Taiguan, and their bodyguards. Lieutenant Dai Bingguo walked with the old woman. At the rear of the group, four soldiers had made a makeshift stretcher with wooden sticks, on which lay a kappa with internal injuries.

The white-browed gibbon sat on a tree branch, seemingly unhappy, but eventually jumped down and followed.

The pale moonlight, the dense rainforest, and the dark forest filled with flickering green will-o'-the-wisps—phosphorescent flames from the decomposition of fallen soldiers, like their lonely ghosts, lingering year after year, unwilling to accept their fate… Han Sheng reached out to catch the will-o'-the-wisps, but the dim green light vanished again, silent and indistinct.

“Alas, their souls cannot return home, wandering in the rainforest for so many years…” Lu Taiguan sighed.

“I know a crippled boy who transports corpses in western Hunan; if only he could help,” Han Sheng murmured to himself.

“More than thirty years have passed; the flesh and blood of the expeditionary force have long since turned to dust. How can they return to their homeland…” Lu Taiguan shook his head, letting out a long sigh.

“Whoosh…” A wind rose, and a mournful sound, like the roar of the forest, echoed through the trees, a plaintive lament that saddened the heart.

Chapter 307

Gunshots echoed through the valley, faintly reaching the stone cave.

"Gunshots!" Onizuka's ears perked up, and he said alertly.

"Hmm, something must have happened to Hansheng's side. I told you that as long as we follow them, we'll definitely find an opportunity to strike. Okay, now extinguish the campfire, Onizuka, lead the way, let's go up and take a look." Kurosawa nodded and said.

"The skunk isn't cooked yet, do you want to eat it before we go? It looks so tempting, a full stomach is necessary for energy." Huang Jianguo said cautiously.

"No," Kurosawa refused decisively, "The opportunity is fleeting, Jianguo-kun, now is not the time for us to enjoy ourselves. After this is over, I'll take you to Ginza, Tokyo to eat bluefin tuna sashimi, but we must leave immediately!"

"Yes." Huang Jianguo had no choice but to stand up and follow behind Kurosawa.

Under the moonlight, watching their figures gradually disappear into the jungle, in the wild banana grove opposite the cave, the thin, wiry figure silently approached the cave entrance, grabbed a half-cooked skunk, tore off a leg, and sniffed it. "So fragrant!" He then pulled a small spice bottle from his pocket, sprinkled some salt on it, and took a bite, tearing off a piece of meat and chewing it incessantly. "Delicious! I've been starving." On

the bank of the jungle stream, Onizuka walked cautiously ahead, sniffing the air from time to time. He sensed that he was getting closer and closer to his target.

Rounding a bend in the mountain pass, will-o'-the-wisps flickered in the dark camphor forest. "Caw..." Several strange birds suddenly cried out from the high treetops.

At that moment, Onizuka noticed some movement on the bank of the stream, so he gestured, and Kurosawa and the others stopped. Under the pale moonlight, a black mound of earth was wriggling, occasionally emitting a "squeak" sound... Upon closer inspection, it turned out to be a large group of black rats crawling on a pile of rocks, all desperately trying to squeeze into the crevices.

"What is this?" Huang Jianguo felt a chill run down his spine and asked tremulously.

Onizuka's nose twitched incessantly. He turned back and whispered to Kurosawa, "It smells of blood, down there, fresh corpses."

Kurosawa's mind raced, and he immediately ordered, "Open it, see who died."

Onizuka stepped forward, his abdomen contracted, and he suddenly exhaled a breath of corpse air towards the black rats. The rats squeaked and scattered, revealing a grave made of cobblestones.

Huang Jianguo stepped forward to help remove the stones. Inside lay a young male corpse, face up, his facial muscles contorted, blood and saliva dripping from the corners of his mouth, his chest and abdomen a bloody mess, a gruesome sight.

"Wu Lieutenant Colonel's men, not shot, disemboweled, done by an animal," Onizuka said, observing by the moonlight.

"Then what kind of animal did it?" Kurosawa asked, puzzled.

A sinister smile slowly appeared on Huang Jianguo's lips, his eyes filled with greed. He turned and looked at Kurosawa pleadingly.

Kurosawa understood his meaning and nodded.

Huang Jianguo quietly leaned over the corpse, gently stroking the deceased's face with both hands. Then, he tenderly pressed his lips to the corpse's sticky mouth, prying open the gums with his tongue and sucking forcefully. Fresh corpse odor flowed into his lungs, along with some salty blood and slippery mucus, which he also ingested... "Jianguo-kun, how does it taste?" Kurosawa asked with a forced smile from the side.

Huang Jianguo's throat made a "whoosh" sound, and he mumbled indistinctly, "It tastes a bit like luncheon meat."

Onizuka, watching from the side, blushed and kept scratching his head.

Kurosawa, observing this, nodded and said, "Hungry? Go grab something to eat."

Without a word, Onizuka plunged into the corpse's split belly, pulled out a slippery intestine, and bit it open with a "plop." Yellowish-green, sticky feces dripped from his mouth, emitting a pungent stench. Onizuka

stuck his head in a second time, letting out a squeak as he bit off half a rat's head that was feeding inside the abdominal cavity… Kurosawa, also feeling hungry, glanced at the old man.

The old man grinned, drew half a katana, and with a "swish," deftly severed the corpse's genitals, handing it to Kurosawa.

Kurosawa sniffed it, bit through the scrotum with his teeth, pulled out a round testicle, put it in his mouth, and swallowed it without even chewing.

After absorbing the corpse's aura, Huang Jianguo stood up and casually bit off half a tongue and a piece of fleshy, decayed gum, which he then ate with relish.

"Alright, it's getting late, let's continue tracking them," Kurosawa said sternly after swallowing his other testicle.

The group washed the filth off their faces and hands in the stream, rinsed their mouths, and continued on their way.

"They're a quarter of an hour ahead," Onizuka said.

Kurosawa waved his hand and ordered, "Clear the way."

After wading across the stream, they looked back and saw the black rats had scrambled back onto the corpses, squeaking and feasting.

A mountain wind swept through, and the camphor forest roared like a stormy sea, as if the souls were screaming. A chilling wind whistled through the air, and Huang Jianguo felt a chill run down his spine. He quickly reached into his bag and grabbed a cold grenade, which gradually calmed him down.

They walked away, and no one heard the gaunt figure vomiting incessantly by the stream beside the pebble tomb: "This humble Taoist priest simply cannot bear it any longer..."

Deep in the tropical rainforest, the Hukawng Valley was filled with towering Hopea trees, their branches intertwined and strangling each other. Some of the chicken blood vines were twisted into braided shapes, their bark oozing drops of bright red blood. Strangely shaped soybean pods hung from the air, occasionally splitting open, the nuts falling into the stream at the bottom of the valley with a "plop," startling the unintentional.

At dawn, the mountain ape led Lu Taiguan and the others to this place.

A thin white mist floated quietly in the forest, layer upon layer, like a fairyland. Crossing a thick, withered tree lying across the stream, a natural stone cave entrance appeared between two Hopea trees, about seven or eight meters in diameter, with several chicken blood vines hanging from it like a curtain.

“The bald old woman is right here,” Yuanmu said to everyone, setting Mingyue down.

Lu Taiguan looked around, then turned to Lieutenant Dai Bingguo and asked, “Lieutenant, have you been here before?”

Lieutenant Dai Bingguo replied, “No, sir. We’ve lived in the rainforest for over thirty years and have never seen this place before.”

Yuanmu, holding Mingyue’s hand, led the way into the cave. Lu Taiguan waved his hand, and everyone filed in.

Inside, they found a spacious stone hall. A narrow, long crack ran through the high ceiling, allowing some light to filter through, making the hall not too dark.

Countless black ghost crickets crawled on the stone floor, each about three inches long, with round heads, broad chests, large mandibles, and dark red chewing mouthparts. They had glossy wings, carried a large sound-producing mirror on their backs, and two long antennae swayed incessantly.

“What the hell are these things!” Mingyue exclaimed in surprise.

"Don't be afraid, they are my little insects," Yuanmu gently comforted Mingyue. Then, with a whistle, the ghost crickets immediately parted to make way, and Yuanmu led Mingyue through the middle.

At the end of the stone chamber was a large stone platform with several large blue stones scattered on it. In the center of the rock wall was a recess, in which sat a person. The light was dim, and the person's features were unclear.

Lu Taiguan carefully walked through the passage made by the ghost crickets, climbed onto the stone platform, and came to the stone wall. He stared intently at the person sitting in the recess and was shocked.

The person had a completely bald head, her face was covered with layers of wrinkles, and her eyes stared blankly ahead. Her clothes were covered with a thick layer of dust. The whole person was like a stone sculpture, without any life. It was clear that she was dead.

"Auntie!" Lu Taiguan exclaimed.

"Grandma hasn't eaten or spoken, and she's been like this for a long time," Yuanmu said from behind.

"She's dead..." Lu Taiguan said sadly.

"She's not dead, Mom's the one who's dead, that's what Grandma said," Yuanmu retorted in a simple-minded manner.

Sigh, this fool, no wonder, after all, he's not human, Lu Taiguan thought dejectedly. With the bald old woman dead, the souls of the 64 members of the Wu family from Shameful Mountain in Peach Blossom River would be impossible to find, and he'd even lost a bodyguard. It seemed this operation had been a complete failure.

"Mr. Lu, your aunt, the bald old woman, is dead. What are your plans for the next step?" Mingyue asked with considerable sympathy.

"In this vast primeval rainforest, where can I find the souls of the Wu family members? The only thing I can do is take my aunt's remains and bury them in the Poyang Lake Valley to fulfill her last wish," Lu Taiguan turned to Lieutenant Dai Bingguo and the others, saying, "Lieutenant, well, let me put it this way, you've been in a foreign land for decades and have lost touch with the situation in your homeland. Now the mainland is under the control of the Kuomintang, and you are Kuomintang soldiers, called 'Chiang's bandit army.' If you go back, you'll definitely be investigated and purged, and you might even lose your lives. I think you should reconsider whether you'd like to come to Hong Kong with me."

Lieutenant Dai Bingguo was startled and said, "Sir, we are anti-Japanese soldiers! Has China made peace with the Japanese devils now?"

Lu Taiguan gave a bitter smile and slowly said, “The Japanese surrendered in 1945 after their defeat. China was the victorious nation, but the Kuomintang and the Communist Party immediately started a civil war. President Chiang Kai-shek’s Kuomintang retreated to Taiwan, while the mainland established the People’s Republic of China in 1949, creating a state of war of confrontation with the Republic of China in Taiwan. As for Japan, they established diplomatic relations with China four years ago and are now friendly neighbors separated only by a strip of water. They also waived the reparations for the war of aggression against China. It’s completely different from the era when the Chinese Expeditionary Force fought bloody battles.”

Lieutenant Dai Bingguo’s face turned pale upon hearing this, and he was speechless for a long time.

“Come with me. Hong Kong is still under British jurisdiction. You will not only be safe from persecution, but you will also be warmly welcomed. More than thirty years after the end of World War II, only five Chinese Expeditionary Force soldiers, forgotten in the rainforest, remain. This will be explosive news worldwide. Don’t worry, I can provide all the living and retirement expenses you five need for the rest of your lives,” Lu Taiguan sincerely comforted him.

“We want to go home,” said an old soldier surnamed Huang from Wuyuan, Jiangxi.

“Yes, I don’t know if my parents are still alive. I must go back to my hometown,” said an old soldier from Shaoyang, Hunan, with great anguish.

“When I left home, my son was not even a month old. Now he’s over thirty, and he should have settled down and started a family long ago. No, even if they kill me, I must see my son and wife one last time…” an old soldier from Tongcheng, Anhui, sobbed.

“Sir, we must go back to our hometown. We must go back and find our loved ones,” Lieutenant Dai Bingguo said firmly to Lu Taiguan, his eyes filled with tears.
