Men's and women's orgasms are completely different in terms of specifics!

When sexual intercourse reaches its peak, there's a sudden surge to a new heightened tension, followed by the release of all that tension, causing a series of muscle spasms that last from a
few seconds to a minute or two. Finally, the body returns to its normal state, or even falls below it – this is what we define as orgasm. The spasms caused by the release of tension
are called the aftereffects of orgasm. Many psychologists and psychoanalysts emphasize the satisfaction during sexual activity, believing that this satisfaction stems from these aftereffects of orgasm;
therefore, their use of the term "orgasm" includes these aftereffects, but we do not use it that way.

Sometimes, the subsidence of orgasm is like a receding tide, while other times it occurs intermittently or with small rebounds. However, these rebounds never return to the original
peak. This cycle of peaks and ebbs is the best indicator of orgasm, especially useful when the man and woman have not ejaculated.
Female mammals do not exhibit this sudden relaxation. Their muscle and nerve tension remains until after intercourse, gradually dissipating, and they
remain in a state of arousal after intercourse, just as before. Therefore, we conclude that no female mammal has ever achieved orgasm
; only human females can.

This conclusion is certainly too absolute. For example, female dogs exhibit sudden relaxation during intercourse; why can't that be called orgasm? A
female chimpanzee has been documented achieving orgasm through masturbation for many years, and we have observed similar phenomena. Cows also experience orgasm during same-sex sexual behavior,
as do all rodents. However, even if individual animals experience orgasm, most females in most animal species clearly do not experience orgasm in any sexual activity
. This certainly requires more extensive verification, but at least to our knowledge, the ability of human females to achieve orgasm regularly at a certain frequency is
unique among female mammals.

The gradual onset and sudden retreat of orgasm is comparable only to one human behavior: sneezing. However, sneezing is a minor matter, while orgasm involves
the entire body.

The aftereffects of sexual climax mainly include the following aspects:

Muscle twitching and spasms

Sometimes this only occurs slightly in a localized area, but usually it spreads throughout the body and can even cause generalized spasms. In some people, the spasms are transmitted very quickly and are difficult to observe,
but in most people, the spasms usually last from half a minute to a minute, or even as long as 5 minutes.

The mechanism of post-orgasmic spasms is similar to that of epilepsy and electric shock, but we don't yet understand it.

The extreme form of sexual response is this: during or after orgasm, someone may violently writhe and flex their entire body, arch their back, thrust their hips, twist their head, stretch out their arms
and legs, babble incoherently, whimper, roar, and cry out, almost as if they are being tortured. Both men and women can react this way. Some people may throw, arch
, or roll several feet or yards away; others may push, punch, violently stab, or kick their partner forcefully. Of course, some people who are more mindful of social norms can
moderate their reactions, but for those who are inherently violent, any conscious control is ultimately ineffective.

Genital twitching and spasms

This phenomenon occurs in both men and women. The contraction of a woman's perineal muscles and vaginal levator muscles can grip the penis or other objects inserted into the vagina, which is what some people call a
"vaginal orgasm," but it is actually just a post-orgasmic effect.

While vaginal contractions can bring pleasure to both women and their partners, it's hard to say whether the absence of them means the loss of some pleasure. If a woman who has experienced vaginal contractions
doesn't experience them during a particular sexual encounter, it might simply mean she didn't respond during that specific time.

Strong abdominal muscle contractions can sometimes tighten the cervix and vaginal opening, and the cervix may also make slight movements, resulting in a process that draws in semen.
