[Fantasy] The Legend of the Eye of Desire (Complete) - Chapter 17

Chapter 56 The Final S Plan
"High Alert, High Alert, the situation in New York is out of control... Repeat, High Alert, High Alert, the situation in New York is out of control..."
The voice of the supercomputer, Statue of Liberty, echoed coldly in the underground base.
"Statue of Liberty, is there still no solution?"
A haggard Superman sat weakly on a stretcher. Although most of the superhumans had retreated to the basement, a considerable number had died in the riot, and the black-clad ninjas wielding melee weapons who appeared at the end had dealt fatal blows to many superhumans. Superman had no choice but to rely on the precise calculation abilities of Statue of Liberty.
"The enemy is too powerful. Requesting the use of S Plan."
Statue of Liberty's voice remained as cold as ever.
"S Plan..."
The seven powerful superhumans who knew the details of S Plan all changed their expressions. Was that final, insane plan really going to have to be used now?
"S Plan is currently the only way to deal with the situation in New York."
Statue of Liberty's voice was devoid of any emotional fluctuation.
"...I agree to use Plan S."
Thinking of that despicable Eastern man, Superman's eyes flashed with malice.
"I object,"
Storm shouted. Plan S was simply too terrifying; one wrong move, and the entire United States could become its casualties.
"I agree..."
Flash, whose arm was still tightly wrapped in biochemical treatment, voiced his opinion.
"Then let's vote by raising hands,"
Superman said, looking at the strongest among the world-renowned superhumans around him.
"I agree,"
Flash was the first to raise his hand.
"I have no objection..."
Batman, who had a close relationship with Superman and Flash, considered for a moment before raising his hand.
"I object,"
Storm clearly had a strong resistance to Plan S.
"I also object..."
Catwoman hesitated. Although the enemy they faced was also powerful, compared to Plan S, Catwoman was still somewhat worried about it.
"I also object..."
Spider-Man had witnessed the man's terror firsthand. Back then, it took the combined strength of five superhumans to barely capture that man from hell. Releasing him would have unimaginable consequences.
"I..."
Daredevil was the newest of the seven superhumans. Unlike the others, Daredevil's abilities were purely the result of training, making him even more eager to meet that legendary, terrifying man.
"I agree."
With Daredevil raising his hand, the majority of the seven superhumans supported Project S, four to three.
"Have you considered whether you have the capacity to handle the aftermath if Project S goes wrong?"
Storm attempted a final attempt to persuade the superhumans. She had been fortunate enough to participate in that battle when she first became a powerful superhuman; that man's unpredictable abilities were a permanent nightmare.
"We could catch him back then, and we can catch him again if anything happens,"
Superman said proudly. Even though that man was known as America's nightmare, he was captured by the superhumans, and they used his terrifying abilities to devise the final plan to protect America—Plan S.
"Alright..."
Unable to persuade her, Storm remained silent.
"Statue of Liberty, we've decided to activate Plan S,"
Superman said with a hint of excitement to the Statue of Liberty, the world's largest supercomputer and the superhumans' intelligence repository.
"Plan S activated. Please enter your fingerprint password to unlock,"
the Statue of Liberty's voice rang out again, and a fingerprint scanner rose from the ground beneath the large screen.
"Everyone, come on,"
Superman was the first to place his hand on the scanner.
"Superman, one of the seven superhumans, verified."
The Statue of Liberty began the identity verification process. Superman, Flash, Spider-Man, Batman, Daredevil, and Catwoman all underwent fingerprint verification and had their identities confirmed. Only Storm remained.
"Are you really sure about this?"
Storm's voice was filled with doubt.
“Things have come to this point. The enemy is about to destroy New York. Who knows where their next target will be after New York? Washington? Seattle? Or San Francisco? It took us two hundred years to build a city, but they can destroy one in just a few days, or even less. They possess terrifying fighting power, which even we superhumans cannot withstand. If we don't activate Project S, America is finished. Without America protecting world peace, those rogue nations will seize the opportunity to launch wars, and the end of the world will come.”
Superman’s eyes shone with fanaticism, a fanatical faith in the world’s only superpower, America.
“Alright.”
Storm’s hand finally pressed the fingerprint scanner.
“Storm, one of the seven top superhumans, all seven identity verifications are correct. With special permission, Project S can be activated.”
The voice of the Statue of Liberty, the world’s only supercomputer with independent thought, remained calm. The high-ranking superhumans surrounding it all showed some excitement. Although most of them had heard of the legendary Project S, almost none of them had a detailed understanding of it. Even among the high-ranking superhumans, Project S remained shrouded in mystery.
"Project S activated."
With the Statue of Liberty's voice, the floor of the central control room began to move, revealing a long underground passage.
"Let's go."
Superman led the way; he was one of the core members who had participated in formulating Project S. The seven superhumans passed through the long metal passage and arrived at a dark, damp underground tunnel lit by light bulbs. As the metal passage closed, the passage to the superhumans' underground base was completely hidden.
"This is a prehistoric ruin. After more than a hundred years of exploration, we've determined that this ruin possesses a strange power,"
Superman explained to the other superhumans who were visiting for the first time.
"The energy here seems to interfere with thought processes..."
Daredevil suddenly remarked. Daredevil is the most unique among superhumans. While all superhumans acquire their abilities either naturally or through training, Daredevil's powers are entirely self-taught. A blind man, he trained in a supposedly ancient Eastern cultivation method, gaining the ability to perceive the universe. This ability, combined with mysterious Chinese martial arts, makes Daredevil one of the seven most formidable superhumans. It is precisely this ability that allows him to clearly understand the power of this mysterious ruin.
“Indeed, this ruin can indeed interfere with the power of thought. As everyone knows, among all superpowers, thought is the most mysterious. Our current information on this ability comes only from the research of a limited number of people with thought-related superpowers. Compared to other areas, our research on thought is still in its infancy. And so far, the most powerful thought energy among us is Daredevil, but Daredevil's thought ability isn't actually that strong,”
Superman explained as they walked.
“That's right, in terms of superpowers, I am indeed the weakest here,”
Daredevil said, having been blind since childhood, so he seemed quite concerned about what others said about him.
“I don't mean to belittle Daredevil's abilities, but having witnessed truly powerful thought abilities, you know that Daredevil's kind of thought ability, used only for sensing the outside world and as eyes, is extremely fragile,”
Superman said regretfully, glancing at Daredevil.
"I can attest that Superman is telling the truth. Only those who have witnessed that man's power know how terrifying mind control can be,"
Storm interjected. She had personally experienced that battle; even with the combined power of five superhumans, they were completely unable to subdue that man. If it weren't for the terrifying suppressive effect of these ruins on that man's mind control abilities, America might have already become hell.
"That man is indeed the most terrifying person I've ever met. Even now, I'm not confident I can defeat him one-on-one."
Even Superman couldn't help but feel a chill when he mentioned that man's terrifying strength.
Chapter 56: The Killer King Frye
"Frye, that man's name is Frye."
Seeing that they were nearing their destination, Superman finally uttered that terrifying name. Just like the vampire prince Dracula, the name of the killer King Frye was deeply engraved in the hearts of every American. His terrifying legend had been passed down for centuries. His pair of steel claws and his horrific face, deformed by flames, had been embellished by countless artists, becoming the standard image of the most terrifying killer king.
Decades ago, this serial killer suddenly vanished, leading those born after him to believe that Fiora's story was merely a legend. Some even adapted his story into a wildly popular movie. Those who truly knew Fiora found the movie plot laughable; if Fiora only possessed that limited ability, he wouldn't have become America's most fearsome serial killer.
"We're here."
With Superman's voice, all the superhumans saw a dark, steel gate. Superman slowly pressed over a hundred keys on the gate. With the final click of the keys and the grating sound of bearings turning, the 80-centimeter-thick steel gate slowly opened.
"Everyone, be careful. This is where the serial killer Fiora is imprisoned,"
Superman warned, familiar with Fiora's power.
"Is there really any life that can survive in this place?"
Catwoman looked at the place imprisoning the so-called most terrifying superhuman in America. It was damp, cold, and filled with the stench of death. It certainly didn't meet the basic requirements for ordinary life; even the most basic food couldn't be guaranteed.
“Flag is the most terrifying superhuman. His abilities far surpass any other known superhuman. If Flag hadn't fallen and become a serial killer, America would have long been the world's leading superpower.”
Superman sighed as he walked forward.
“Stop.”
Daredevil suddenly stopped, tilting his head as if sensing something.
“What’s wrong?”
Although blind, Daredevil possessed sensory abilities even better than Superman's. Countless times during special missions, his keen senses had saved lives. Upon receiving Daredevil's warning, everyone was on high alert.
Their opponent was the legendary, invincible serial killer, Flag. Even someone as powerful as Superman dared not relax.
“An enemy… one? Or two?”
Daredevil’s head darted around, the strange sensation leaving him bewildered.
“We don’t see anyone…”
Superman’s eyesight was the best among all superhumans; even the flapping of a fly’s wings was clearly visible in the pitch black. But now, in the entire cold, damp cave, Superman couldn't see anything unusual.
"Here!"
Daredevil suddenly roared, his fist slamming into the rock with lightning speed. Mud and water mixed with stone fragments flew everywhere, and Daredevil's fist had punched a hole more than ten centimeters deep into the hard wall.
"Escaped?"
Daredevil's senses told him he had hit the wall, but his keen intuition told him that an enemy, trying to conceal its presence, was indeed lurking there, watching him.
"There are no living beings there,"
Superman shook his head and answered affirmatively.
"Could it be that the strange force field here is interfering with Daredevil's judgment?"
Catwoman offered a plausible explanation.
"That's possible. Let's lock onto the target with our eyes. This force field can even interfere with Fred's mental energy,"
Superman said, glancing at Daredevil.
"My imagination? It seems I can't be of much help under this force field..."
Daredevil's voice held a hint of regret.
“It’s alright, you’ve helped us enough at other times, leave this to us this time.”
Catwoman comforted Daredevil, seeing his bewildered expression.
“Let’s go, there seems to be only one passage here, let’s hurry and find Fred’s whereabouts.”
Batman reminded them.
“Plan S has been activated, finding Fred is our top priority right now, let’s go.”
Superman led the Inhumans forward.
As the Inhumans’ figures completely disappeared, wisps of black smoke slowly seeped from the wall that Daredevil had just blasted. The black smoke did not dissipate in the air, quickly condensing into a black humanoid shape. Finally, the black smoke suddenly disappeared, and a short man wearing a tattered trench coat and a hat that completely covered his face mysteriously appeared.
“It seems that another Inhuman with the ability to think has emerged among us, he was able to detect my presence.”
The short man muttered to himself, his voice like a broken record, sharp and chaotic.
"But no matter what, getting out of here is the key. American bastards, cry out, Fontaine is about to return to the world!"
The dwarf raised his head, revealing a face completely distorted by burns. His left hand, with an iron claw sharper than a regular knife, trembled excitedly. Then the dwarf transformed into black smoke again, and began to slide outwards along the top of the passage.
"My God, this place is huge."
Reaching the end of the prison where the murderous king Fontaine was held, there was a vast cave several hundred meters long. The cave seemed man-made, with smooth, flat walls. Its height of several tens of meters made it seem as if it could conceal countless secrets.
"What is this?"
Catwoman, who inherited the cat's powers, suddenly noticed countless terrifying claw marks at the bottom of the cave, each over ten centimeters deep.
"Those are the marks left by Fredo's iron claws,"
Superman explained.
"It seems this is where Fredo hides. Everyone, split up and search, but be careful."
Spider-Man had just finished speaking when he threw out a web that stuck to the cave ceiling, lifting himself off the ground and climbing to the top to search for clues.
All the superhumans quickly dispersed, cautiously searching for the legendary, most terrifying killer, Fredo.
"Everyone, come here!"
Batman was the first to find a clue, drawing everyone's attention. A cave hidden among piles of rocks, the entrance only twenty or thirty centimeters wide and unusually irregular.
"I'm sure there shouldn't be a cave here."
Superman leaned down, peering into the cave, but a corner in the distance blocked his view of what lay beyond.
"I'll go in and take a look."
Catwoman, having inherited the cat's powers, was the best choice among the seven superhumans to enter such a narrow cave to search for clues.
“Alright, but you have to be very careful. You can't fight Fred alone. If you find any clues, come back immediately.”
The superhumans exchanged glances, and then Superman hesitantly agreed to Catwoman's request.
“Tie this spiderweb around your waist. If there's any problem, just pull the web, and I can pull you out.”
To be safe, Spider-Man tossed a spiderweb to Catwoman; even the slightest movement on the web wouldn't escape his notice.
“Be careful.”
Catwoman tied the spiderweb around her waist and then, with the grace of a cat, crawled into the cave, a place difficult for ordinary people to navigate. She quickly disappeared from everyone's sight, and in less than a minute, she emerged.
“How was it?”
Everyone was quite concerned about whether Catwoman had found anything.
“Fred should be dead,”
Catwoman said with certainty.
“What…”
All the superhumans were extremely surprised. Superhuman life was based on genes that surpassed humans, and all superhumans possessed correspondingly strong vitality. Although the environment here was harsh, with Fred's legendary power, he should be able to survive for decades without problems.
"Turn up here, around this spot. The wall isn't thick; once you break through, you'll see inside the cave,"
Catwoman gestured with her finger along the stone wall, finally pointing to a spot six or seven meters above the ground.
"You guys step aside, I'll break through the wall,"
Superman said as he slowly ascended into the air.
Chapter 57: Fred's Superpower -
A powerful punch slammed into the wall. Superman, worthy of being known as the strongest superhuman in terms of physical strength, smashed the wall, which was so hard even bombs couldn't easily breach, into pieces. An irregularly shaped oval cave appeared before them, and Superman was the first to enter. The other superhumans followed suit. The
cave was different from the outside; it was extremely dry, and a strange smell permeated the air. In the center of the cave, the desiccated corpse of a short man, only half the height of an average person, lay flat on the cold ground. The man wore a tattered trench coat, his hands clasped across his chest, a cold, gleaming iron claw on his left hand. His skin was cracked and parched, like parched earth.
"That's Fiora,"
Superman recognized him instantly—the seemingly invincible, terrifying killer, the superhuman who had single-handedly fought five powerful individuals before being lured into this strange ruin specifically designed to target his abilities, and imprisoned there.
"This body has been dead for over ten years,"
Batman said, crouching beside Fiora's corpse after a careful examination.
"It seems even someone as powerful as Fiora couldn't endure this environment for long,"
Flash remarked, surveying the surroundings.
"Loneliness is humanity's greatest enemy,"
Daredevil sighed. Being confined in such a dark, sunless place for decades, without food, light, or anything worth doing, even an invincible person would likely succumb to suicide.
"Since Fiora is dead, Plan S is completely useless,"
Storm sighed. The so-called "Plan S" was actually a final plan to protect New York after the superhuman organization imprisoned Fiora. Superhumans have lifespans several times longer than ordinary humans, and their powers allow them to maintain peak physical condition for extended periods. Based on the superhuman organization's assessment of Fiora's abilities, they estimated he had at least three hundred years left to live. During those three hundred years, if New York suffered a devastating attack from the enemy, Fiora could be released from prison. Given Fiora's indiscriminate and ruthless nature, he could easily engage in a fierce battle with the enemy. Regardless of who won, the superhumans could clean up the mess. The only uncertainty in the plan was whether anyone could subdue America's number one serial killer once Fiora was freed.
"Let's go,"
Superman said regretfully.
"Wait a minute, let's deal with this body first before we leave."
The Flash removed a piece of skin from Fred's body and unleashed his lightning power. The corpse, already devoid of moisture, burst into flames in the lightning, and in the blink of an eye, the body of the once-powerful superhuman who had ravaged America turned to ashes.
When the seven superhumans returned to the superhuman headquarters, the voice of the supercomputer Statue of Liberty rang out.
"How is Project S progressing?" "
Project S has failed. Fred is dead."
Superman said with a disappointed tone.
"...Then there's nothing we can do but wait for an opportunity."
After a series of calculations, Statue of Liberty fell silent again.
After two days of riots, New York was now completely controlled by the followers of the Dark God. After the chaos, New York seemed to have returned to normal. People went to work as usual, and went to school as usual. However, the relationships between people were much more harmonious. Whenever something happened, everyone would pray to the Dark God. Many devout followers of the Dark God found themselves suddenly possessing divine power, and all sorts of servants of the Dark God appeared on the streets of New York.
On this seemingly peaceful night, a cloud of black smoke drifted through the streets, eventually reaching the school.
Atop the school's clock tower, the smoke materialized into the likeness of Fiora, his beady green eyes gleaming as he surveyed the entire school.
"It's been a long time since I've killed any middle schoolers. Heh, at this age when they love to dream, what could be more interesting than turning their dreams into hell?"
Fiora's voice was filled with excitement; his terrifying powers, which had vanished from America for decades, had resurfaced. Fiora's body disappeared into the hazy night.
In the dead of night, some boarding students were still laughing and doing their own things on campus when suddenly the space seemed to dim for a moment, then returned to normal.
"Let's go to sleep, it's getting late,"
a girl in the crowd suggested, glancing at her watch.
"Okay..."
Other students, feeling a bit bored, were also ready to end this nightly gathering.
"Where am I?"
Opening the classroom door, the corridor and playground that should have been outside were completely gone. The entire area outside seemed to have transformed into a dense forest. The cold moon in the sky added to the desolate atmosphere, and a sense of dread permeated the entire forest.
"The classroom's gone too!"
Amidst the exclamations of students behind them, everyone realized that they had been transported to a terrifying forest without their knowledge. The classroom, the lights, the noisy voices—all seemed to have vanished in an instant.
"Let's go,"
a few of the braver boys suggested. Staying in this terrifying forest wasn't a solution; walking in one direction would surely lead them out of this dreadful place.
"Alright..."
Despite their fear, all the students moved forward, following a few of the bolder ones.
Some even pulled out pistols from their clothes, intending to use them for self-defense.
"Fear, this energy of fear...it's so comforting, haha."
Not far from the students, Fred leaned against an ancient tree, basking in the moonlight while absorbing the wisps of energy emanating from the students' terror.
"Dark God, please protect me."
Before they had gone halfway, several boys, unwilling to continue, began to pray, following the teachings they had learned that day.
Hearing his classmates begin praying to the Dark God, whose name had been the subject of much speculation these past few days, all the students stopped in their tracks. Humans seek solace in moments of emptiness and loneliness, and often turn to deities for help when their lives are threatened. Listening to the prayers, other students gradually joined in. Finally, when all the students were praying, their unified chanting seemed to release a powerful energy that made them forget their fear. Driven by their will, thunderclouds gradually filled the sky, and a tall figure shrouded in darkness stood like a god within the clouds, receiving the students' worship.
"A god?"
Fred looked at everything in the distance, his heart filled with astonishment. Although many people had prayed to gods when he killed, including to the legendary omniscient and omnipotent God, he had never witnessed such a powerful god appearing out of nowhere in these people's dreams. Could it be that a new god truly existed in this world, protecting his followers with divine power?
"No need to pray anymore, you're all going to die, hahaha."
A sharp, carefree laugh rang out. Giving up on waiting, Flex strode towards the students who were still praying. This world was created by Flex, and he believed he possessed absolute power over everything in it. Even gods would only face certain death if they encountered this super-killer.
"The God of Darkness, omnipotent, will lead us to create a world of light."
After their prayers, the students seemed like changed people, their voices filled with confidence.
"Let me introduce myself. My name is Flex. I believe many of you have heard of me. Yes, I am the legendary killer. You will all die here today."
Flex lightly swung his iron claws, slicing through the hard woods of the forest as easily as tofu.
Chapter 57: The Terrifying Power of the God of Zombies
. "Even if you are Flex, you absolutely cannot defeat the great God of Darkness."
All the students looked at the god standing on the clouds with reverence.
"Really? Your god will really save you?"
Flex laughed loudly. Although this god's power seemed far greater than other gods, don't forget, this world belongs to Flex; this is the nightmare world created by Flex.
Flex's sharp iron claws grabbed directly at the praying students. In that instant, the entire world seemed to freeze. The god who had always stood on the clouds, absorbing the power of faith, finally opened his eyes. In that instant, the world created by Flex collapsed, and all the students were instantly returned to their original world.
"What happened? I think I just had a dream?"
The students, waking up, felt very strange. Everyone had actually fallen asleep. This could probably be listed among the top ten strangest tales of this school.
On the school's tallest clock tower, Flex's figure reappeared.
"That damned power of faith. Although that guy's abilities aren't particularly strong, the fact that he can attract so much faith means he'll likely become a true enemy sooner or later."
Flex looked at the students below, now all awake, filled with frustration. If it weren't for the final moment when the dream god absorbed enough faith to awaken and break through his seal, perhaps his long imprisonment underground had weakened him considerably. He was defeated by the combined faith of all the students in the school. It seemed he needed to kill as many people as possible to restore his strength.
"That guy who tried to make me a god—he'll definitely be a problem if I don't get rid of him completely."
Since he had utterly failed in this school tonight, there was no need to linger. He should find another target. This time, Flex set his sights on the God of Darkness.
"Found it! The final convergence of faith! Haha, fear! I, Flex, have arrived!"
Standing atop the clock tower, Flex found his next target, then leaped into the void, pursuing the direction he had found.
In the only building in all of New York City that had never experienced a riot, hundreds of ninjas guarded every floor. The core of their protection was the top-floor room, currently occupied by the head of the Shiranui clan, the very same Kagerou who had turned New York upside down.
Inside the luxurious room, three naked women slept contentedly. Kagerou, smiling, sipped the fine wine provided by the vampires while gazing at the beautiful New York nightscape.
Just as Fleg locked onto the center of the power of faith, the slumbering Ba suddenly opened her eyes.
Peeking around, seemingly oblivious to Kagerou's presence, Ba shifted slightly, burrowing under the covers. The large bulge within the blankets suggested she was asleep, but if Kagerou lifted the covers, he would find the room empty. Wearing a makeshift nightgown, Ba moved rapidly through the night.
"Ugly ghost, where do you think you're going?"
Almost unnoticed, Flegrou was stopped by Ba in the night sky. Facing the short, ugly figure of Fleg, Ba's face showed extreme disgust.
"Little girl, you actually managed to find me. It seems you're an even more powerful superhuman than Superman."
Fleg looked at the cute Ba with an evil smile. Killing little girls like this was the most satisfying, and if the opponent was a superhuman, he could get revenge for being framed by those superhumans back then.
"Superhumans? How do I resemble those inferior beings?"
Mentioning superhumans, Ba's face showed absolute disdain. If she didn't want her father to discover her strength, even a whole bunch of those guys wouldn't be a match for her.
"So, little girl, what exactly do you want?"
Hearing that the other person wasn't a superhuman, Flex immediately felt curious. This girl didn't have the scent of the Church or vampires; if she wasn't a superhuman, how could she fly? It seemed this girl wasn't to be underestimated.
"Are you trying to cause trouble for my father? You ugly thing, get out of here right now!"
Ba raised her small fist, threatening Flex.
"Haha, little girl, it seems you don't know who I am? Let me tell you, I am the Killer King Flex. I don't know how many little girls like you I've killed."
Flex felt that this little girl was threatening him like this; she really had a death wish. Even Superman wouldn't dare speak to him like that.
"Looks like you ugly ghost won't learn your lesson until you're dead. Fine, I don't have much time, so I'll have to use my real strength to finish you off."
Ba glanced back in Yang Yan's direction. If her father discovered she'd sneaked out, it would be a major incident; she had to hurry.
"You're asking for death."
Flex's iron claws reached for Ba.
"Let's fight somewhere else."
Flex's iron claws seemed to never reach Ba. The moment Ba finished speaking, the two disappeared into the night sky.
The full moon forest, Flex's favorite killing spot, appeared again.
"Your hobbies are truly disgusting."
Looking at the strange forest, crawling with repulsive creatures, Ba showed a look of disgust. Because she didn't want Flex's unpleasant voice to pollute her world, Ba chose to restore Flex's world. She hadn't expected Flex's world to be so disgusting.
"Haha, although I don't know how you did it, this is indeed my world, a world where I can unleash my full fighting power."
Although he could tell that Ba was not someone to be trifled with, returning to his most familiar world, Flex believed that even ten Supermen wouldn't be a match for him.
"Is that so? This place is completely isolated from the real world. It seems that even if I exert a little force, it won't have any effect."
Ba revealed a sweet smile, and suddenly, this world belonging to Flex was filled with a terrifyingly powerful force. The forest turned into a desert, and all the ugly and strange creatures that Flex created turned to ashes.
"My name is Ba. In the ancient Xuanyuan language, Ba means the God of Crimson Flames. People also call me Hanba. I am the daughter of the Holy Emperor Xuanyuan, the princess of the Xuanyuan Divine Kingdom, the immortal zombie god, Hanba."
As terrifying power spread, the earth seemed to be covered in flames, and even the air was almost devoid of moisture. The small body that originally belonged to Ba seemed to grow overnight. The small nightgown covered the mature and alluring body. That terrifying power, which could almost cover the entire universe, came from this zombie god, Hanba, who had been awakened by the Zombie King.
"You..."
The terrifying power covered the entire world. For the first time, Fred felt his own insignificance. The power that he used to think was invincible was almost the difference between a drop of water and the entire ocean in front of Hanba. Moreover, Hanba's power was not just as simple as the ocean. It was simply a hellfire sea flowing with magma.
"You bastard, you actually tried to harm your father! You should know that anyone who offends your father is unforgivable."
Hanba plucked a hair from his head, then split it into more than ten pieces, casually tossing them to the ground. The hair, seemingly capable of drifting away in the wind, transformed into more than a dozen golden-armored zombies with fangs several feet long.
"Give this guy a good beating."
Hanba, who had recently become increasingly lazy following Yang Yan's example, simply found a place to sit down and watched as the dozen or so golden-armored zombies used their massive fists to beat up Fred.
Fred, the self-proclaimed number one superhuman and serial killer in America, was being beaten so badly in battle that he howled in agony for the first time. These zombies were simply fighting machines; their terrifying power was unbearable even for Fred, a spirit separated from his body. Each punch struck his spirit directly, inflicting pain a thousand times greater than physical pain, almost driving Fred to the brink of collapse.
With a casual silencing spell, Ba watched with a smile as the zombies she had conjured beat up Flag, no longer able to hear his wails. Although Flag had become a spirit and was completely immune to physical attacks, Ba was a zombie goddess from the ancient East. Thousands of methods for tormenting souls existed in the Eastern divine realm, allowing even ordinary Taoists to inflict direct physical damage on a spirit, let alone a beautiful and alluring zombie goddess like herself.
Chapter 58: Flag Surrenders.
Flag's wails echoed through the heavens. This was the first time Flag had ever been beaten so brutally in his life, especially within his own world.
When the golden-armored zombies threw the now completely inhuman Flag back before the zombie goddess, Flag seemed only able to utter one sentence: "Stop hitting me... I'll do whatever you ask..."
"Hmm, if you had done this earlier, there wouldn't have been so much trouble."
Seeing the self-proclaimed most evil serial killer in America behaving more docilely than a kitten before her, the zombie goddess nodded in satisfaction.
"I'll lend you a hair."
The Zombie God smiled and plucked a sparse, brown hair from Freyg's head, then wrapped it around his fingertip.
"By the God of Drought Zombies, this man shall henceforth serve Yangyan as his master. Any act of disobedience to his master will be condemned by the gods and demons of heaven and earth, who will send his soul to the deepest hell to suffer the eternal torment of karmic fire."
The Zombie God's voice was so calm. The hair wrapped around his fingertip suddenly turned into a wisp of smoke and floated in the air.
"Tell me. I willingly serve Yangyan as my master."
The Zombie God glared at Freyg, who immediately repeated in a trembling voice, terrified. As soon as Freyg's voice fell, a shrill and terrifying sound suddenly echoed from the unreachable world. Just as the sound grew louder, a huge red skull suddenly appeared in mid-air. The smoke from Freyg's hair was completely absorbed by the red skull. Then the red skull glared at Freyg and finally disappeared into the air.
"Work done."
With a soft glow, the Zombie God transformed back into the little girl, Ba.
"...Why don't you become my master yourself?"
The golden-armored zombie behind him vanished along with the Zombie God's transformation, and the now calm Fleg asked curiously.
"What's mine is Daddy's, and what's Daddy's is Daddy's,"
Ba replied without hesitation.
"...Since you have such power, why do you submit to a false god? Judging by your power just now, you should already be a true god, right?"
Fleg was utterly speechless in the face of Ba; her terrifying strength had completely robbed him of the courage to resist.
"That's a strange question. He's Daddy, he's my everything,"
Ba glared at Fleg, clearly annoyed that he looked down on her.
"What if he wanted to kill you?"
As America's number one serial killer, Flex naturally raised this question.
"Why would Daddy kill me? If Daddy really wants to kill me… then I'd rather die."
The demon hesitated for a moment, then said very decisively.
"...You are truly great. I, Flex, am very willing to serve you."
Submitting to the demon's terrifying divine power, Flex, although acknowledging Yang Yan as his master, actually regarded the demon as his own.
"I'm going back. Go find Daddy and surrender yourself. Don't try anything funny. As long as you're still in this world, I can destroy you at any time."
The demon's figure faded further and further, finally disappearing completely before Flex's eyes.
"With this powerful master, perhaps I will never be alone again. Haha, those superhumans are in deep trouble this time."
Flex felt the exhilarating feeling of regaining control of his world. The scenery destroyed by the battle rapidly recovered, and in no time, the world was restored to almost the same state it had been when he first arrived. The mutated creatures that had died were resurrected and began busily traversing this world that would never see sunlight.
Just as Freyg was busy restoring his world, Ba returned to Yang Yan's side. Everything was unchanged; Ba's body emerged from under the covers.
"Are you awake?"
Yang Yan asked without turning his head, sensing Ba's movement.
"Daddy, hug me."
Looking at Yang Yan's back bathed in the lamplight, Ba seemed to revert to being that innocent little girl again, wanting only to snuggle into her father's arms.
"Come on..."
Yang Yan walked over and reached out to embrace Ba's petite body. Mai Shiranui and Yuri also woke up at the same time, watching this seemingly heartwarming scene.
A kind father holding his adorable daughter—if it weren't for the father's large hands brazenly roaming over the sensitive parts of his daughter's alluring body, it would truly be a touching sight.
"Someone's coming."
Yang Yan suddenly stopped. A probing energy, though it fooled the ninjas guarding outside, couldn't escape Yang Yan's eyes of desire. Yang Yan released Ba, his face returning to seriousness.
"Who goes there..."
Mai Shiranui and Yuri quickly dressed and stood guard beside Kagerou.
"As expected of the God of Darkness."
Space distorted, and Flex's short figure appeared before Kagerou through the wall.
"You're not human."
Although Flex had a human appearance, how could that virtual form hide from the Eye of Desire? Under the Eye of Desire's observation, Flex's secret was completely exposed.
"I'm not human?... Indeed, I can't be called a person right now."
Flex was stunned for a moment before remembering the fact that he didn't have a physical body.
"You're Flex..."
Although Flex hadn't appeared in the United States for decades, intelligence agencies from various countries were closely monitoring this super-killer. If such a killer didn't stay in the United States but went to other countries to wreak havoc, it would be a major incident. Especially the European countries with close ties to the United States, Yuri had long been deeply wary of this so-called most terrifying superhuman in America.
"Haha, not bad, I didn't expect that I, Flex, wouldn't be forgotten after all these decades."
As a super-serial killer, Flex's greatest joy was that someone would remember him forever.
"Flex..."
Mai Shiranui had obviously heard of Flex's legend, so upon hearing that the ugly little man in front of her was the serial killer Flex, she immediately tensed up.
"Don't be nervous, I'm not actually here to fight or kill..."
Seeing how impolite Yuri and Mai Shiranui were, Flex quickly explained. If Yang Yan mistook him for an enemy and triggered that terrible curse, he didn't know what terrible consequences would follow.
"So what are you here for?"
Although Yang Yan didn't know who Flex was, seeing how nervous Yuri and Mai Shiranui were, Yang Yan pressed for an answer.
"Actually, I am a follower of the God of Darkness, and I have come specifically to submit to my god, the great God of Darkness."
Flex said to Yang Yan with a serious expression.
"Who exactly is this guy? Is he some kind of escaped mental hospital?"
Yang Yan didn't believe that nonsense and asked Mai Shiranui directly.
"Flag, born in 1880, known as the son of the devil, possesses the most terrifying superpower in America. Unfortunately, despite his terrifying abilities, this man did not join the Superpower Association to protect America. Instead, he took pleasure in killing, roaming all over the United States. Countless people have died at his hands, especially teenagers, earning him the title of serial killer and the most terrifying superpowered individual. Decades ago, he suddenly disappeared without a trace and has never appeared in this world again,"
Mai Shiranui replied.
"So where have you been all these decades?"
Yang Yan was not so easily fooled.
"I was ambushed by the guys from the Superpower Association and imprisoned in the New York underground for decades..."
Although this was not something to boast about, Flag felt there was no need to hide it.
"Since you were imprisoned, how did you escape?"
Yang Yan asked with a smile.
"They seemed to want to investigate my situation, but they didn't expect that I abandoned my physical body more than ten or twenty years ago and operated as a pure spiritual body."
Since Yang Yan had already seen through his pure spiritual body, Flag still honestly confessed.
"Although I can confirm that what you said is true, if you want me to believe you, you should at least show some sincerity."
Yang Yan smiled slightly. Although he didn't know why Flex was so eager to become his subordinate, Yang Yan, who never missed an opportunity to extort money, wouldn't let go of this precious chance.
Chapter 58 The Kingdom of Gods
"How do you want me to prove it?"
Flex asked.
"You're also a superhuman, aren't you?"
Although Flex's ability was very special, Yang Yan still saw that Flex and other superhumans were essentially from the same evolutionary pattern originating in the human world, so Flex should also be considered a superhuman.
"My ability belongs to the mental type among superhumans. They've rated me 3A. Superhumans above A are called 'Great Superhumans.' I think currently, no superhuman can rival me."
Everything about superhumans is classified as top secret by the US government and the Superhuman Association. The classification and grading of superhumans are top secrets, classified as SSS-level in the US. Even Nazi Germany and Japan couldn't obtain information about superhumans from the US. Font, the only traitor among superhumans, is now lifting the veil of mystery surrounding them.
"3A? The classification of superhumans is really strange."
Yang Yan was taken aback; this grading system was clearly different from the classification of other powers in the world.
"The Americas were discovered by the great navigator Christopher Columbus, but before Columbus arrived, the mysterious Inca Kingdom had already vanished. After the United States became a British colony, several brilliant scientists began studying a mysterious relic from the Inca Kingdom: a crystal skull mask. Just as their research was making progress, the American Revolutionary War broke out. In order to achieve victory as quickly as possible, George Washington led his soldiers to attack the research laboratory. As a result of an inexplicable accident, the crystal skull mask triggered a chain reaction, and all the American soldiers present were affected by the crystal skull mask, and some of them were born..." The first batch of superhumans emerged. After the Revolutionary War, various superhumans continued to appear on American soil. Following the Civil War, to ensure that the growing number of superhumans did not affect American politics and to unite all superhumans in maintaining American independence and peace, the US government convened superhumans to establish the Superhuman Association, the most powerful force to protect the United States. Based on the abilities of George Washington, the first superhuman and often called the father of superhumans, a complete structure was established. Those with abilities equal to Washington were classified as Level A; those with more than double Washington's abilities were Level 2A; and those with less than double Washington's abilities were Level B. "
Fleg's words revealed a secret the US government had been trying so hard to hide.
"What's the current strength of superhumans? How many are Level A or above? What's the level of Superhumans?"
Compared to the traditions of superhumans, Yang Yan was more concerned with the overall strength of superhumans now.
"Those with superpowers above level A are called 'Great Superpowers.' There are currently seven Great Superpowers. I've met Superman once; his strength should be around level 2A, close to 3A. The other Great Superpowers are all around level A."
Flaig recalled the seven Great Superpowers he'd encountered when escaping the underground ruins. If Superman had discovered him then, he probably wouldn't have escaped so easily.
"Level 2A? Looks like Superman can't beat you."
Yang Yan glanced at Flaig. This ugly little dwarf actually had 3A strength. If this guy stabbed him in the back, things wouldn't be so easy.
"Our abilities are different. My ability is mental, while Superman's abilities are physical enhancement and gravity control. There are very few people with dual superpowers among the superhumans, but Superman is one of them. With dual superpowers protecting him, it's very difficult for me to truly kill him. After all, his enhanced physique is comparable to immortality. But he'll never be able to defeat me. If necessary, I can capture him alive and then slowly deal with him."
After leaving, Fred investigated some information about the seven superhumans. According to the information, Superman was indeed a very difficult opponent to kill.
"Immortal?"
Yang Yan's gaze swept over Yuri. Vampires were also said to be immortal, and now Superman was also said to be immortal.
“Body enhancement is a very common superpower. Once you reach Level A, you can almost completely modify your body. Washington had this ability back then, and even dozens of top British agents couldn't kill him. With Superman's abilities, even if I had the sharpest knife, it would be difficult to damage his body.”
Flex was a little embarrassed. As someone skilled in psychic abilities, he couldn't compete with a muscular man like Superman in terms of physical strength. While his mental power could defeat Superman, it was difficult to truly damage his body. This kind of physical enhancement was the most annoying superpower.
“It's okay. So their so-called immortality is just that they can withstand more damage. As long as the absolute destructive force exceeds their tolerance limit, they will die just like ordinary people.”
Thinking of how Superman was seriously injured by Mai Shiranui and Yuri working together, Yang Yan felt relieved.
“…Theoretically speaking, that's correct…”
Looking at Yang Yan's nonchalant expression, Flex couldn't help but shudder. He thought of Ba's terrifying strength. Even if all the superpowered people in America attacked together, they probably wouldn't be enough to kill her. With such powerful subordinates, it was no wonder that this man didn't take superpowered people seriously at all.
"You don't believe me?"
Looking at Fontaine's seemingly thoughtful expression, a faint purple light flickered in Yang Yan's eyes.
"No..."
Suddenly, the man before him seemed to grow taller, and an unusual psychic field appeared in the room. This strange psychic field seemed to suppress his own mental abilities, leaving Fontaine stunned. In front of Yang Yan, Fontaine felt extremely threatened and tense.
"The King of Killers, Fontaine, known as America's number one superhuman, has dominated America for 120 years, destroying 37 small towns and killing nearly 100 million people, 80% of whom were teenagers. He is considered America's most terrifying serial killer."
Looking at the information that Mai Shiranui had just handed him, Yang Yan smiled.
"..."
Fontaine showed no panic at the fact that Yang Yan knew his background. Although he hadn't seen the terrifying figure of the demon, with her present, he couldn't even commit suicide, let alone escape. Since he had no power to resist, Fontaine could only silently await Yang Yan's verdict.
"Killer King Flex, why do you kill?"
Yang Yan put down the documents and smiled at Flex.
"...No particular reason..."
Flex seemed to have forgotten why he was killing.
"This world is actually very ugly. People no longer trust each other. There is hypocrisy and evil between people. When that layer of pretense is torn away, people's ugly faces will be completely exposed. Flex, when you kill those sinful humans, you can actually feel a kind of peace and tranquility. Only the blood of those sinners can calm you down."
At this moment, Yang Yan seemed to have once again merged into the role of the Dark God he was playing.
"...That's right, those guys all deserve to die..."
Unconsciously, a strong bloodlust appeared in Flex's eyes. That blood-like gaze seemed to be condensed from the blood of countless humans who died tragically at Flex's hands. Flex's emotions began to spiral out of control.
“Flag, you pitiful man. Even if you slaughter all the Americans, you still cannot wash away your sins, for you yourself are sinful, and sinful blood flows in your veins. Even if you abandon your physical body now, your soul will forever be branded with sin.”
Yang Yan spoke like a saint admonishing a lost believer.
“…My soul is sinful too…”
Flag’s body suddenly began to tremble. Yang Yan’s voice seemed to penetrate his very soul, causing it to tremble. Yang Yan’s voice was like the voice of a demon, completely controlling Flag’s emotions.
“Since you cannot cleanse yourself of your sins, then offer your soul to me completely. I will become the sole ruler of this world. I will use my power to cleanse your sins, I will lead you back to your lost path, and I will grant you a new hope—a divine kingdom without any sin.”
