[Fantasy] The Legend of the Eye of Desire (Complete) - Chapter 27

Chapter 92: Storming the Werewolf Military Base
Soon, the crisscrossing infrared devices went out, and all the electronic monitoring devices seemed to stop working.
"Let's go."
Mai Shiranui led the way, with Yang Yan and the others following behind.
"All the infrared monitoring devices have been shut down, and we've also cut the circuits to all the electronic monitoring devices. Their monitors are only showing a loop of footage every five minutes,"
Shiranui Yue said proudly.
"Sometimes these high-tech devices are easier to fool than people,"
Mai Shiranui said with a hint of smugness. If the Shiranui clan were to set up this kind of monitoring equipment, they would rather trust human power; after all, compared to electronic monitoring devices, the eyes and ears of ninjas are far more powerful.
"The electronic map of the entire base has been obtained,"
said an electronics expert from the Shiranui clan.
"This base has three levels. What we see now is the first level above ground. According to the electronic map, all the barracks and weapons are on the first level. There are two more levels underground. The electronic map on the first underground level indicates the special forces' garrison area. There's no map on the second level; it's marked as an SSS-level classified base,"
Shiranui Yue summarized the information and concluded.
"Half of the ninjas and half of the vampires will enter the base and immediately eliminate the troops on the first level. I don't need any survivors,"
Yang Yan said coldly, arms crossed.
"Yes,"
Yuri and Shiranui Mai replied simultaneously, immediately giving orders to their attendants.
The ninjas' teamwork was immediately apparent. Large numbers of ninjas moved in unison and with gentle movements, like a black tide surging into various parts of the base. The vampires' approach was clearly different from the ninjas'. These vampires didn't have the strict division of labor of the ninjas; instead, they transformed into black bats and dispersed to various locations. Soft wails rose and fell in an instant.
Compared to the vampires and ninjas, these ordinary soldiers were far too weak. Where they couldn't see, a gleaming longsword suddenly appeared, slicing open their tracheas. These poor soldiers didn't even see their attackers. Or, suddenly, from nowhere, a pair of strong arms would extend, instantly rendering them speechless and unable to move. Then, a pair of sharp fangs would pierce their carotid arteries like lightning. Within seconds, these soldiers would succumb to massive blood loss and die from utter weakness.
In just a few minutes, the ninjas and vampires had turned the first level of the base into a tomb.
"There's only one entrance to the underground base. You can only enter the first level by descending about thirty meters underground from the center of the surface base via an elevator,"
Shiranui Yue said, leading Yang Yan to the only elevator.
"We don't need the elevator anymore. Let's go down directly."
Yang Yan casually destroyed the elevator floor, revealing a deep, dark hole. Yang Yan jumped down first.
"You all stay outside,"
Shiranui Mai ordered the other ninjas.
"Yes, Master,"
the surrounding ninjas replied simultaneously, then quickly disappeared from the base.
“You stay too,”
Yuri said to the remaining vampires.
These powerful women of Yang Yan jumped down into the elevator shaft, chasing after him.
Unexpectedly, compared to the clean, bright, and modern surface base, the first level of the underground base seemed to be a relic from ancient times.
The entire first level was constructed of rock, with countless passages turning it into a vast, labyrinthine structure.
“It’s filled with the stench of werewolves,”
Yuri said, frowning with obvious discomfort.
Looking at this seemingly stuffy underground labyrinth, the oil lamps burning on the stone walls along the passages cast such dim light that they couldn’t even illuminate the passages, which were barely two meters wide. A black band more than a meter wide flowed through the middle of the passages. The quiet passages were devoid of even the sound of air movement; only Yang Yan’s own deep breathing seemed to be the sole sound in this underground world.
"Let's go."
Yang Yan wasn't worried about the maze at all. These mazes couldn't possibly stop their powerful members. Even if they got lost, they could rely on their strength to break through the layers and escape.
"According to the electronic map, the entrance to the next level should be south of the entrance."
Shiranui Yue's voice echoed somewhat excitedly in the passage.
"Heh heh, you can't go anywhere, you intruders."
Suddenly, a booming voice rang out from afar. Then, around the corner of the passage, a two-meter-tall Russian giant strode in. This giant wore a Russian major's uniform, and his bull-like eyes revealed a greedy gaze.
"A vampire?"
The giant's gaze swept over everyone, finally stopping on Yuri's face. That familiar aura made the giant immediately recognize Yuri's identity.
"You stinking werewolf."
Yuri covered her nose and said coldly.
"You despicable vampire, I can smell the temperature, such a strong stench of blood. Have you already killed everyone upstairs?"
the werewolf roared.
"How ridiculous! Don't you werewolves always see humans as food? When have you ever cared about human life or death?"
Yuri said coldly.
"Heh heh, that's right, they're all just food. Kill them if you want. Actually, it's not just humans, you despicable vampires are all food too, only fit to be torn to pieces and excreted from our anuses."
The werewolf seemed to be trying to provoke Yuri.
"Hey, you mongrel, who told you you can bite people? Be careful, I'll kill you and make you into dog meat hot pot. Anyway, Russian winters are so cold, it's perfect for a nourishing dog meat hot pot."
Yang Yan slowly looked at the werewolf in the officer's uniform in front of him. These werewolves had never given Yang Yan a good impression. In Yang Yan's subconscious, he had completely listed werewolves as enemies, opponents he could never forgive.
"You Eastern pig, I'm going to eat you raw and turn you into shit."
The werewolf colonel, who had always treated humans as food, had never seen a human who completely despised strong werewolves like this, and immediately flew into a rage.
"You can't expect anything good from a dog's mouth. Mai, pull out all of this guy's teeth."
Yang Yan frowned. These guys had treated him like prey back in Japan; he needed to get back at them properly to justify his current power.
"Yes, sir."
Mai Shiranui replied, slowly drawing her long sword, the gleaming blade pointing at the werewolf colonel.
"Bastard."
The werewolf colonel punched Mai Shiranui hard. He'd take care of this girl first, then capture the vampire, and leave the rest for a late-night snack. The werewolf colonel clearly didn't take these enemies seriously.
"Foolish."
Faced with this brute force attack, Mai Shiranui sneered and suddenly disappeared from the werewolf's sight. The werewolf felt something cold hit his face, and a tremendous force sent the werewolf colonel flying.
"I don't know how to pull teeth, so I knocked them out, okay?"
Mai Shiranui returned to Yang Yan's side and said to him somewhat embarrassedly.
"Damn it, this human actually... I won't let you get away with this."
The werewolf colonel, whose teeth had all been knocked out and whose speech was slurred, quickly got up. His entire face was completely deformed from the blow from the back of Mai Shiranui's blade, his gums were a bloody mess, and streams of blood flowed from the corners of his mouth, which had become a mass of rotten flesh.
"Haha, this looks better on you, the more I look at it, the cooler it gets."
Looking at the werewolf colonel's face, Yang Yan laughed loudly.
"I'm going to kill you..."
the werewolf colonel roared, his entire body instantly inflating as if filled with air. His striking Soviet military uniform burst from his powerful muscles, and his body seemed to double in size in an instant. His face, which had been completely distorted by Mai Shiranui's attack, transformed into a ferocious wolf's head, and his missing teeth grew back completely.
"Am I destined to run into kobolds lately? All the guys I've encountered recently look like dogs."
Yang Yan looked annoyed as he watched the werewolf transform.
Chapter 092 The Lower Vampire Prince Slaughters Werewolves
"Werewolf, open your eyes wide and watch carefully. I'm not someone like you can match."
Seeing the werewolf complete his transformation, Yuri's lips curled into a cruel smile as she strode up to him.
"Kill...kill...kill..."
Transformed into a werewolf, he seemed to have completely lost all rationality. The werewolf's eyes were only for his enemy. His gaping maw revealed sharp teeth, and terrifying roars echoed continuously. His terrifying iron claws tore horribly into the hard stone wall.
"A beast is a beast."
Although the werewolf looked imposing, it was utterly worthless in front of Yuri. Aside from the legendary werewolf king, no werewolf could rival a vampire prince.
Yuri didn't even bother to change her form; her snow-white hands reached directly for the werewolf's head. The werewolf immediately grabbed Yuri's arm. The moment Yuri and the werewolf made contact, it was as if the werewolf had offered its arm to Yuri. With a casual flick of her wrist, the werewolf's massive body slammed against the wall, sending rubble and blood flying.
After several slams of the werewolf's body against the wall, it was a bloody mess. Yuri seemed to exert no effort at all, then tossed the werewolf's body far away.
"In Yuri's name, flames, summon!"
Yuri snapped her fingers, and a ball of pure white flame instantly engulfed the werewolf's body. Then, a wisp of smoke drifted by, leaving only a pile of black ash on the ground; all traces of the werewolf's existence had been completely obliterated.
"Let's go."
Yang Yan smiled slightly. The werewolves seemed to be no threat to him at all. He already had two deities with him: Lilith, practically a god of vampires, whose strength far surpassed that of the gods he had fought before; and Ba… although he hadn't seen her fight, judging from his first impression of her aura…
her power was likely far beyond his imagination. With that kind of strength, dealing with werewolves who had only been entangled with vampires for thousands of years was a piece of cake.
Following the passage where the werewolf colonel had appeared, a huge underground hall soon came into view. This hall seemed to be a massive slaughterhouse, littered with severed limbs, and hundreds of enormous werewolves were displaying their terrifying forms, devouring the human remains.
"Werewolves, truly filthy creatures."
Looking at this scene, Yang Yan frowned. Werewolves were indeed all beasts. While vampires do kill, it's only when there's hostility that they kill by drinking blood. Normally, vampires have a large supply of fresh human blood and eat very rationally, savoring the pleasure derived from the blood in their cups. The werewolves' habit of eating humans raw has already aroused Yang Yan's strong disgust. Recalling their first meeting, where these werewolves tore humans apart before his eyes, Yang Yan had already sentenced them to death in his heart.
On this human-dominated planet, werewolves have no need to exist.
"Humans, didn't Colonel Peter Keeef go to capture you? Where is he?"
Hundreds of werewolves stopped eating, their blood-red eyes glaring at Yang Yan and his group.
"Master, let me handle this alone."
The hatred between werewolves and vampires has accumulated for millennia. These disgusting creatures even tried to ambush Prince Dracula in his final moments. Yuri completely loathed these werewolves and slowly walked towards them.
"Alright, clean this place up
while you're at it." The stench of blood permeated the air, making Yang Yan feel extremely uncomfortable.
"Hehe, Daddy."
Ba smiled and snuggled into Yang Yan's arms. The fresh air surrounding Ba immediately invigorated Yang Yan. This was the benefit of a goddess—warm in winter and cool in summer, and able to create fresh air; she was practically an essential piece of equipment for home and travel.
"Vampire, damned vampire, this is not a place for you! Get out of here!"
The vampire aura emanating from Yu Li was impossible to miss from these werewolves, and all of them roared at her.
"I won't let you get out, because I'm going to kill you all."
Yu Li's cold gaze swept over the werewolves, and her vampire aura gradually intensified.
"Damn vampire, I'm going to eat you!"
An enraged werewolf pounced on Yu Li with lightning speed.
"Eat me? Haha, you foolish beasts, you actually want to eat a vampire prince? Haha, how ridiculous!"
Yu Li blocked the werewolf's attack with just one finger, revealing her sharp fangs, and said with a smile.
"Haha, this woman's gone mad! Everyone knows Dracula, that bastard who killed a thousand men, is dead. A vampire prince? Haha, once we succeed, we'll wipe out all the vampires!"
The werewolves laughed mockingly.
"Oh, so you have some secrets? No problem, one prisoner is enough. The rest of you, die!"
Yuri's lips curled into a cruel smile. Then, a pair of enormous bat wings unfurled behind her, and countless golden runes began to flash across her body.
"A vampire prince? Forget it, real or fake, everyone attack!"
After watching Yuri's transformation in astonishment, all the werewolves roared simultaneously and pounced on her. Werewolves are the world's finest warriors; even if they all die, they will not retreat.
"A bunch of idiots."
Fighting a vampire prince, will numbers really make a difference? The vampire prince was a king who could manipulate blood. The instant all the werewolves pounced on Yuri, they simultaneously discovered that the blood within their bodies seemed to surge violently. Then, their incredibly tough skin burst open at the same time, spraying countless drops of blood from their powerful bodies. The werewolves then collapsed to the ground, completely desiccated. All the blood gathered before Yuri, coalescing into a crimson bead.
"You damned vampire! The great king of the werewolves will not forgive you!"
All the werewolves were wiped out, leaving only the strongest one lying motionless on the ground. His blood had completely frozen his body, rendering him utterly unable to move, not even a finger. He could only whimper and howl.
"Fire!"
White flames, like the most loyal cleaners, incinerated the severed limbs and werewolf corpses on the ground. Killing so many werewolves at once seemed like a trivial task for Yuri.
"Don't worry, I'll personally twist off the werewolf king's head, so I won't spare it,"
Yuri said coldly, looking at the werewolf. A joke? Spare the vampire prince? The only one in this world who could rule over vampire princes was the great vampire goddess, Queen Lilith. As for the werewolf king? He was merely an enemy, to be eliminated.
"Now honestly confess everything you know, otherwise, hehe, I'm very angry, and the consequences will be severe,"
Yang Yan asked with a grin, stepping on the werewolf's head.
"You lowly human, how dare you step on me, a noble werewolf! I'll devour you alive!"
Werewolves have always treated humans as food, and now a human has dared to step on a werewolf's head—this is an absolute insult.
"Noble?"
Yang Yan turned his gaze to Yu Li. The word "noble" seemed to be mostly used by vampires. How come he'd just learned to use it too? Does so-called nobility mean eating raw meat? The heads of werewolves and vampires are truly incomprehensible to humans.
"Teach it to me. I'll know the answer soon enough, and the process will be incredibly delicious."
Yu Li's eyes blazed with intense anger, clearly furious that the werewolf had stolen a term exclusive to vampires. Huge wings lifted the werewolf off the ground, and Yu Li's teeth suddenly extended dozens of times. Sharp fangs pierced the werewolf's heart like longswords, and gushing blood flowed through the fangs into Yu Li's mouth. All of the werewolf's memories flowed into Yu Li's body along with the blood.
"This is a werewolf research base. These bastards not only use themselves as guinea pigs, but they've also captured a large number of humans, and even a few noble vampires. They're researching monsters."
Yuri, having clearly retrieved a considerable amount of information from her newly acquired memories, said with a look of astonishment.
Chapter 093: The Birth of a Monster
"Monster?"
Yang Yan didn't immediately understand what Yuri meant.
"They're creating bio-weapons, forcibly fusing the genes of three types of creatures—humans with superpowers, werewolves, and vampires—in an attempt to create terrifying monsters that surpass the limits of biological life."
Yuri explained, organizing the information in her mind.
"Isn't it unnecessary to go through all that trouble? Your methods for developing offspring seem to be quite similar, vampires and werewolves. As long as you take turns biting a human with superpowers, it can gain your power."
Yang Yan said, frowning.
“…Vampire blood and werewolf blood cannot be mixed. If someone is bitten by a werewolf and then turned into a vampire, that person will inevitably die from the conflict between the two forces within their body. If these guys really succeed, I wonder what kind of monsters they will create.”
Yuri’s expression was grim. These damned werewolves actually defiled the noble blood of the vampires; this was absolutely unforgivable.
“The research institute is underground?”
Yang Yan asked.
“That’s right. It seems we’re quite lucky. This is the werewolf’s most secret base in Russia, and we’ve managed to find it all at once.”
Yuri led the way. It seemed that after absorbing all the werewolf’s memories, Yuri was very familiar with the environment of this place.
After passing through the entire underground maze, Yuri led Yang Yan to a stone staircase that stretched downwards. After descending the staircase for about ten meters, two huge metal doors were tightly closed, with a sign on the doors marked in Russian.
“Russian Seventh Research Institute.”
Yang Yan, whose Eye of Desire could recognize all writing, frowned as he looked at the conspicuous Russian text.
"Shall we go in and take a look?"
Mai Shiranui asked Yang Yan for permission.
"Of course, since we're here, let's visit this Russian research institute and see what kind of aircraft they're working on."
Yang Yan kicked open the tightly closed door with a startling sound. The contrast between the inside and outside was stark. Outside, the stone steps made it seem like ancient times, while inside, the polished marble floors, bright lights, and glass-encrusted walls were unmistakably modern.
"Whoa..."
A loud alarm blared, and the entire research institute seemed to erupt in chaos.
"So noisy."
Yang Yan flicked his wrist, and the previously loud alarm immediately went silent.
"Subdue these people first."
Yang Yan left only Ba and Lilith by his side, while the other women darted out to stop the institute's personnel. This was a military research institute, and all the researchers were professional soldiers. If they were allowed to destroy their research data, it would be disastrous.
Faced with these formidable experts, the entire staff of the Seventh Research Institute was subdued and gathered in a large room.
"We've found their research site. Should we go see what they're researching?"
Mai Shiranui asked Yang Yan.
"Let's go, it'll be good to see,"
Yang Yan gestured for Mai to lead the way.
Pushing open a huge glass door, they entered a massive space that seemed to be three stories high. In the center stood a strange machine and dozens of containers, each filled with deformed monsters. There were werewolves with two heads, vampires covered in hands, and several creatures that looked like clumps of rotten flesh. These monsters were clearly alive; their eyes moved in sync with the people outside.
"What exactly is the research topic here?"
Is this just a garbage dump? These monsters are only disgusting; in terms of actual combat power, they're probably not even as good as ordinary vampires.
"I'm not really sure either. It seems we need to capture the person in charge of this research institute and explain it to them,"
Yuri frowned. The werewolves clearly didn't understand the research being conducted at this institute. Their only memory was that the research seemed to be about fusing the genes of American superhumans, European vampires, and Russian werewolves to create super monsters.
With Yang Yan's approval, Yuri hurriedly left, returning shortly with a thin, sparsely shaved middle-aged man in a major general's uniform, carrying a pair of thick-skinned shoes twice the size of a beer bottle.
"What exactly is your research institute researching?"
Yang Yan asked coldly.
"Well… we're researching how to fuse vampire and werewolf cells into the bodies of superhumans. Only by perfectly inheriting the advantages of all three cell types can we create a new type of powerful biological weapon. With the fighting talent of werewolves, the powerful regenerative abilities of vampires, and the various superhuman abilities of superhumans, this biological weapon could practically take on dozens of werewolves single-handedly."
The middle-aged man hesitated for a moment, glancing at the long sword Mai Shiranui casually wielding, before immediately confessing honestly.
"Is this your result? These disgusting things don't seem to have any fighting power."
Yang Yan frowned, looking at the strange objects before him. These disgusting things were enough to make Yang Yan lose all interest.
"These are all failed works, but our research is close to success. Look at this."
The middle-aged man ingratiatingly turned on a huge display screen. The entire screen clearly showed a tall, thin pregnant woman who seemed to be in a deep sleep.
"Who is she?"
Yang Yan looked at the pregnant woman with suspicion. She looked ordinary, so why was she being monitored on such a large screen? Were all Russians sexual perverts who had a particular fondness for pregnant women? But it seemed that Russian AV production was gradually approaching Japanese standards. Was this some kind of huge AV production factory?
"She is Colonel Karina, a volunteer we recruited from the vast Russian army. She is currently pregnant with our latest research result, and the due date is tonight."
The middle-aged man looked at the pregnant woman as if a newlywed husband were scrutinizing his beloved wife.
"You impregnated someone with a monster?"
Yang Yan frowned.
"Of course, think about it, once these adorable lives are born, with their immense power, they will be virtually invincible in this world. Even the vampires, the werewolves' mortal enemies, will be completely annihilated by these cute little creatures."
The middle-aged man seemed very excited.
"Then you can go die first."
Yang Yan said coldly.
"What..."
The middle-aged man could only utter one last sentence before his head was chopped off by the long sword in Shiranui Mai's hand.
"Kill everyone in this base, destroy all the data, these things must not be leaked."
Yang Yan said coldly.
"Yes."
Shiranui Mai replied and prepared to act.
"Wait a minute, it seems that the child is about to be born."
Ba's voice drew everyone's attention back to the television screen.
"Ah..."
The pregnant woman, who had been sound asleep, seemed to have awakened, letting out a painful scream. She rolled onto the ground, clutching her enormous belly, which twitched strangely even through her clothes. Suddenly, a large amount of blood gushed from her abdomen. Amidst her terrified screams, a furry little hand emerged from her belly, followed by the head of a monster full of fangs. As the little monster pushed outwards, blood gushed from the pregnant woman's abdomen like a hemorrhage.
Finally, when the little monster crawled out of the pregnant woman's body, she was already dead.
"This monster has wings."
As an archer, Shiratori's observational skills clearly surpassed the others. She noticed two small fleshy lumps, no bigger than fists, behind the little monster. Just as everyone noticed these two lumps, they suddenly extended outwards, and a pair of bat wings spread out behind the little monster.
“It really has vampire blood. Those damn werewolves, I’ll kill them all!”
Yuri almost groaned as she watched the little monster spread its wings.
Chapter 093 The Growth of the Lower Monster
“That thing is disgusting.”
The little monster, with its wings spread, seemed to be hungry and immediately climbed onto the pregnant woman’s corpse, beginning to devour the flesh. Yang Yan frowned at the little monster’s disgusting actions.
“Can it hear what we’re saying?”
Just as Yang Yan was discussing the little tree monster, the little monster raised its head, opened its mouth wide towards the monitor camera, and its sharp teeth seemed to proclaim its brutality.
“Woo…”
The little monster let out a strange howl and lunged at the monitor camera. The screen immediately filled with static, clearly indicating that the monitor had been destroyed.
“They succeeded.”
Mai Shiranui looked at the monster and shook her head.
"Success? Hmm, maybe they really did succeed. Anyway, they just wanted to create a killing machine. This monster will obviously attack any living thing, even more brutal than a werewolf. Let's go. This is something the werewolves created; let them deal with it. We're leaving."
Yang Yan thought for a moment, then decided to leave with his men.
Soon, as Yang Yan and his group left the base, the ninjas and vampires also quickly retreated. The last ninja to leave planted explosives in the elevator shaft connecting the surface base to the underground base. With a violent explosion, the entire elevator shaft collapsed, and huge boulders completely blocked the entrance.
With the last ninja gone, the entire base was deserted. Half an hour later, amidst a piercing alarm, countless police officers surrounded the base. These police officers set up a cordon to prevent unauthorized personnel from entering or leaving. Ten minutes after the police arrived, hundreds of military vehicles, leading thousands of troops, entered the base.
"Sir, all 2,792 people at the surface base have perished. 1,327 of them were killed by having their tracheas severed with a sharp weapon. The rest were drained of blood; judging from the method, it was likely the work of vampires,"
the army commander reported into a communication device.
"Vampires? Could those hypocrites have gotten wind of this and sabotaged it? What's the situation at the underground base?"
a gruff male voice asked through the communicator.
"The underground passage has been completely destroyed. According to tests, a conventional bomb was used. Currently, all communication between the underground base and the surface is cut off,"
the commander reported.
"Begin digging immediately. Open the passage at all costs,"
the male voice commanded through the communicator.
"Yes, sir,"
the commander saluted solemnly, and the communication was lost.
"Begin digging immediately. Open the downward passage before dawn,"
the commander relayed the order to his soldiers. The surface base began operating rapidly.
Underground base. With a ninja's explosion, the people imprisoned in the Seventh Research Institute immediately panicked. Although the base was mostly staffed by soldiers, these soldiers, focused solely on scientific research, had never experienced anything so insane. Hearing the explosion, those whose movements were restricted panicked within the underground base. In
a hidden room deep within the base, security was clearly excellent; even the women under Yang Yan's command hadn't detected it. This room was obviously the one Yang Yan and his group had seen through the surveillance cameras. The pregnant woman had been completely devoured by the little monster, leaving only a bright red skeleton and pale golden hair. The little monster had grown to the size of an adult, its enormous wings spread, and its blood-red eyes radiating a savage aura.
"Woo..."
The monster let out a terrifying howl, and the alloy-sealed door shattered instantly. The monster left the room, and once in free territory, its nose twitched violently a few times, immediately changing direction. Obstacles encountered along the way were completely destroyed by its powerful body. The monster had clearly arrived at the research center where Yang Yan had been.
Looking at the headless corpse of the middle-aged man, the monster let out a howl, lunging forward and devouring the flesh from the corpse, ignoring the clothes on it. In no time, the corpse was completely swallowed. The monster's size had swelled considerably, now reaching the size of two adults.
Clearly, the monster's size increased according to the volume of life it consumed. After finishing the corpse, its blood-red eyes immediately fixed on the mutated creatures trapped in glass containers, unable to move. The monster's body seemed indestructible. The tempered glass, which even a tank would struggle to shatter, was smashed to pieces by the monster, the mutated creatures inside instantly becoming its prey.
After devouring the other monsters in the research center, the monster's body grew to the size of a tank. Passing through the narrow doorway, its massive form squeezed through like a mollusk, then began moving towards the direction from which the smell of food wafted.
The panic among those whose movements were restricted continued. Suddenly, the entire door to the room was smashed open, and a pair of blood-red eyes, occupying half the doorway, appeared in the pitch-black space behind it. Then, a gigantic monster's head , seemingly boneless, squeezed through the door.
Screams, cries for help, and wails erupted—humanity's most vile behaviors were on full display.
"It...it's a success..."
Several men, clearly core members of the research institute, stared at the monster with expressions of disbelief. It was simply too bizarre. This creature was exactly as they had planned; if deployed on the battlefield, it would be invincible.
"Ugh..."
Looking at the room full of food, the monster let out an excited howl and immediately pounced on the food. The human bodies were stuffed into its mouth, and then its sharp teeth, larger than an adult's body, crushed the bodies, swallowing them whole. Now, the monster, so enormous, wasted nothing; not even bones or clothing were spit out.
"Success..."
Watching those around them being devoured by the monster one by one, the core members remained excited until they too were swallowed whole in their excitement.
"Sir, we've breached the entrance to the underground base,"
several soldiers reported to their impatient commander.
"Excellent! Special forces, move out immediately and search the entire underground base,"
the commander ordered, his face grim.
"Yes, sir!"
The soldiers' reaction was swift. Immediately after the commander's order, a team of special forces soldiers armed with state-of-the-art weaponry entered the newly opened underground world. Dozens of screens on their helmets displayed the mysteries of the underground realm.
The second level of the underground base was completely devoid of life. When all the soldiers gathered at the third level, the commander's expression was unusually grave.
The second level was where the werewolves guarding the third-level research facility lived. These werewolves seemed to have vanished completely from the second level; not even their corpses remained. Logically, even if these werewolves had died in battle, at least their bodies should have remained, since vampires eat corpses.
"The entire third level is severely damaged, the power supply is critically low, and no one has been found yet,"
all the special forces soldiers reported the same message.
"The research center's main gate has been forcibly destroyed, all culture tanks are completely damaged, and all cultured organisms are missing."
Special forces arrived at the center of the research institute, a place that seemed to have been ransacked more thoroughly than a bandit raid. Everything that could be carried was smashed to pieces, even the ground was unevenly dug up, as if someone had to remove even the smallest stones.
"Be careful, continue searching. The culture tanks contain dangerous creatures. If these creatures escape, then..."
The commander solemnly notified the special forces.
"Rest assured, sir, we guarantee to complete the mission."
The special forces' reply was resolute.
Chapter 094: Monsters Emerge from the Earth's Layers.
The commander looked seriously at the videos transmitted from the special forces helmets on dozens of screens. These elite special forces soldiers had completed a thorough search of the underground base, finding absolutely nothing.
"Prepare to retreat."
The commander gave the order.
"Yes, sir."
The special forces soldiers replied firmly.
"I think there's a sound?"
A strange sound suddenly came through one of the special forces soldiers' microphones, seemingly the sound of a huge object dragging across the ground.
"Go check it out."
The commander gave the order to the soldiers underground via microphone.
"Yes, sir."
The special forces soldier immediately moved towards the source of the sound.
"God, what is that..."
The special forces soldier stood before a long corridor, staring at the end. It seemed as if a writhing mass of rotten flesh was slowly moving towards him. The mass of rotten flesh made a screeching sound as it slid across the ground and walls. The special forces soldier exclaimed in terror.
"Be careful."
The commander knew that the research being conducted at this base was absolutely forbidden and could not be leaked. The results of the research were all incredibly powerful killing weapons. The commander immediately warned.
"Ah... a monster... God... it's a monster..."
Suddenly, the mass of rotten flesh revealed an enormous eye. The blood-red eye alone filled the entire corridor. Faced with such a terrifying monster, the special forces soldier could not bear the psychological fear. He screamed and fired wildly.
"Situation at number 13, emergency support."
The commander issued the order to the remaining special forces soldiers through the command system.
"Action!"
The special forces soldiers, who had been so cautious just moments before, suddenly burst into astonishing speed, rushing towards the location where the monster had been spotted.
"No..."
Bullets seemed to have no effect on the monster. The eye, upon reaching the special forces soldiers, suddenly transformed into a gaping maw. After a soldier's scream, the commander could only see static on the screen.
"Number Thirteen is dead. Everyone retreat immediately and prepare to seal the entrance."
The commander gave the order.
"Damn it, retreat! Everyone retreat!"
Hearing of their fallen comrade, the special forces soldiers, who were like brothers, cursed as they retreated at lightning speed.
"Damn it, what is that?"
Several special forces soldiers at the back simultaneously saw a huge mass of mangled flesh chasing after them. They frantically fired bullets to defend themselves while retreating at lightning speed.
"Bullets are useless against it. Use incendiary grenades immediately."
The commander had personally witnessed his soldiers being swallowed by the monster's gaping maw after running out of ammunition. Seeing several more soldiers being targeted by the monster, the commander immediately ordered,
"Incendiary grenades ready."
All the special forces soldiers converged at the entrance of the research institute, facing the hordes of mangled flesh emerging from several passages behind the main soldier. Most of the special forces soldiers unleashed their firepower, dozens of tongues of fire spraying out simultaneously. While these bullets couldn't inflict real damage on the monster, they temporarily halted its advance. Several soldiers pulled incendiary grenades from their harnesses, lit them, and hurled the bright flames directly at the monster.
"Move!"
Under the captain's command, the special forces soldiers retreated from the terrifying research institute in order. The captain, at the very back, immediately threw a grenade back inside as soon as he left the institute.
The monster, blocked by the flames, seemed somewhat afraid of the incendiary bomb's fire, only able to watch its prey escape. With a mournful howl, the monster's massive body slammed into the flames. The specially crafted incendiary bomb could burn even in water; although the monster's body was pressed against the flames, the fire didn't extinguish but instead rapidly expanded, completely igniting the monster's body. Engulfed in flames, the monster swallowed the grenade the captain had thrown in.
A blinding flash of light erupted from within the monster's body, and the massive shockwave blasted it to pieces.
"Quick, quick, get out of this underground base immediately!"
the captain shouted repeatedly. The special forces soldiers quickly traversed the underground maze and returned to the surface.
"What exactly was that thing?"
The captain was seething with anger at the sight of such a monster.
"You don't need to know. As a soldier, you only need to obey orders," the
commander said coldly, expressionless.
"...Yes, sir."
Despite his many questions, the captain saluted the commander.
"This underground base only has one passage via an elevator. I now order you to return to the entrance immediately. I don't care what the cost, you must guard the entrance and prevent that monster from leaving,"
the commander said coldly.
"Yes, sir. Mission accomplished."
The captain saluted again and turned to leave.
"Your Majesty, it seems our plan has been discovered by the vampires. I suspect they sabotaged our research and released the monster."
The commander calmly opened his communicator, connected to a special channel, and immediately reported.
"Vampires... It's alright. I'll send people over right now. Even if the monster does come out, they'll have enough to eliminate it. As for the vampires, they can't go far. I'll send people to find their hideout immediately."
A hoarse voice came from the communicator.
"Yes, Your Majesty the Great Tsar."
The commander spoke to the communicator with the same respect he would show to the Russian Tsar.
In the underground base, as the monster's limbs were smashed, the world seemed to fall silent instantly. But this silence was fleeting; moments later, the entire base seemed to churn again. Suddenly, the ground at the entrance was ripped open, and countless horrible, rotten flesh resembling octopus tentacles emerged from the ground. The shattered pieces of flesh were immediately carried back by these tentacles to the gaping maw that had emerged from the ground. After devouring the flesh that had once belonged to its own body, the giant octopus monster squeezed out through the narrow passage. In the blink of an eye, a long, thin piece of rotten flesh arrived at the underground labyrinth. Without hesitation, the long piece of rotten flesh slid forward along the passage the special forces had just used, quickly traversing the underground labyrinth.
"It's here,"
the captain warned as the monster's tentacles appeared before the elevator shaft. Then, guns roared, and incendiary grenades were unleashed once more. Faced with this powerful force, the monster's tentacles retracted again.
"This thing is afraid of fire, drop more incendiary bombs!"
At the captain's command, the newly developed incendiary bombs were immediately thrown down as if they were free, completely sealing off the passage with flames.
The monster's tentacles retreated continuously in the face of the flames until they were out of the flames' reach. The monster moved forward several times, the intense flames turning the tips of its tentacles to ash. Finally, under the threat of the flames, the monster changed its defensive line, its tentacles beginning to break through the rocks, and the enormous monster quickly disappeared into the rocks.
"Everyone be careful, this monster might force its way out."
Seeing the flames from the incendiary bombs seem to be getting smaller, the captain frowned and said, "...Ah..."
A special forces soldier suddenly let out a shrill scream, the ground beneath his feet suddenly cracking open, and then something seemed to emerge from underground. The special forces soldier seemed to be enduring immense pain, but in just an instant, his entire body shattered completely. A huge mass of mangled flesh emerged from where the special forces soldier had been standing, his limbs encased in the mangled flesh, and then he disappeared underground.
"Everyone be careful, this monster has burrowed underground!"
The captain and his team immediately scattered, monitoring the underground with all their might.
"Watch out!"
The captain had just shouted when the ground suddenly ripped open, and countless octopus tentacles emerged from the ground. More than a dozen of his team members were grabbed by those terrifying tentacles and sank into the ground.
"Damn it!"
The remaining special forces soldiers opened fire simultaneously, sending the monster's tentacles and limbs flying everywhere.
Chapter 094 The Monster is Wounded
A series of mournful cries rang out as the special forces soldiers were swallowed one by one by the monster's seemingly oblivious maw.
"God, help me destroy this monster!"
Watching his subordinates being slaughtered by this monster, the captain seemed to have gone mad. Grenades, flares, incendiary grenades, tear gas—he unleashed them all on the monster. The monster seemed oblivious, swallowing the modern weapons whole. With muffled explosions from within its body, the monster seemed completely unaffected.
"My brothers, the ship is coming!"
Seeing that the monster's tentacles were about to coil around him, the captain closed his eyes, preparing to die.
"Kid, not bad, pretty brave."
Suddenly, a gruff male voice rang in the captain's ear. The captain felt a pair of strong hands grab him and pull him a considerable distance away.
"A...weren's man."
The first thing the captain saw was a furry wolf face, its sharp teeth gleaming terrifyingly.
Even though the captain had just seen such a monster, he still couldn't help but gasp in shock at the sight of the werewolf.
"Not bad, kid, you deserve to be one of us great werewolves."
The werewolf, speaking human language, bit the captain's neck, instantly tearing off half of his neck, then tossing the captain's corpse behind him.
"Peter, you're really meddling. Hurry up and deal with this monster."
In that short time, more than thirty enormous werewolves had surrounded the monster. One of the werewolves shouted at the werewolf who had killed the captain.
"Understood. Send thirty high-ranking werewolves. Even a vampire prince should be dead by now."
The werewolf named Peter leaped and immediately blocked the last gap in the encirclement of the monster.
Surrounded by over thirty werewolves, the monster seemed to realize its danger. Its body rapidly contracted, coalescing into a massive ball of flesh, from which dozens of enormous tentacles extended, waving at the werewolves.
"Is this disgusting monster really made from our noble werewolf genes? It seems the majority of its genes are from those despicable vampires. Look at its disgusting appearance; it looks exactly like those androgynous vampires."
All the werewolves appeared remarkably relaxed.
"Woo..."
The monster suddenly let out a horrible howl, then all its tentacles abruptly turned in the same direction, a deluge of tentacles simultaneously reaching out to a single werewolf. Although powerful, the werewolf was startled by the sheer number of tentacles, retreating several steps to defend itself. Meanwhile, the other werewolves pounced on the monster, attempting to stop it.
"Not good..."
The werewolves had barely pounced when they realized something was wrong. The monster's tentacles, already fully extended, changed direction. Countless tentacles, along with the monster's body, moved in the opposite direction simultaneously. All the werewolves' attacks missed immediately. The werewolves moving towards the monster, mid-air, couldn't change direction in time and ended up seemingly throwing themselves into the monster's body. Suddenly, a gigantic maw appeared on the monster's body, and all the tentacles instantly wrapped around the werewolves, throwing their bodies into the gaping maw. With a howl, countless sharp teeth tore the werewolves' strong bodies to shreds, and the werewolves were completely swallowed by the monster.
"Damn it, everyone be careful! This monster's intelligence is definitely higher than that of an ordinary person."
The werewolves were frustrated. Intelligence wasn't something werewolves excelled at, and facing such a cunning enemy, one that clearly possessed terrifying strength that a single werewolf couldn't withstand, the werewolves immediately huddled together.
"Ugh..."
The monster, having swallowed a werewolf, immediately turned its tentacles towards the werewolves again. At this moment, in the monster's mind, werewolves had become the best food.
"You are no match for it, step back."
A very deep male voice suddenly rang out, and a tall man in a general's uniform, his face completely covered by a huge military cap, slowly walked towards the monster.
"Your Majesty."
All the werewolves saluted the man in the general's uniform.
"Rise."
The man waved his hand casually, then slowly walked towards the terrifying monster.
"This monster is formed by the fusion of 170 kinds of creatures, the powerful genes of werewolves, vampires, and superhumans. It gains energy for each creature it devours. Now that this monster is so huge, it has obviously absorbed countless people. In terms of strength, it is far superior to you, so you are no match for it."
The man's face was still covered by the military cap, but he seemed to know everything.
"Ugh..."
The monster knew at first glance that this man was definitely not as delicious as the food from before, but in the end, the desire for food overwhelmed its reason, and the monster attacked the man. Countless tentacles suddenly lashed out at the man, who neither dodged nor flinched, seemingly allowing the monster to seize him. The tentacles carried him towards the monster's gaping maw, and just as those terrifying teeth were about to bite him off, the man moved. His body suddenly expanded several times its original size, his clothes shattering. The man, now in his werewolf form, let out a terrifying howl, his massive claws flashing, tearing the monster to shreds in an instant.
"Ugh..."
The wounded monster howled again, its body splitting in two. The front half continued to confront the werewolf, while the other half disappeared into the mud.
"Immediately dispatch a large number of people to search. Once the monster is found, notify me immediately. Do not engage it rashly," the werewolf, having
quickly destroyed half of the monster's body, ordered.
"Yes, sir."
All the werewolves saluted him again.
The werewolves quickly dispersed, the werewolf named Peter taking the special forces captain's body with him. As soon as the werewolves left, police officers armed with flamethrowers appeared. Some officers quickly poured specially formulated gasoline onto the still-moving limbs and severed bodies. The flamethrowers then ignited all the gasoline, and the monster's remains quickly turned to ash.
"This kind of monster shouldn't even exist. These werewolves are in for a world of hurt,"
Yang Yan watched the exciting live broadcast from the hotel via satellite.
"This monster is troublesome. Its body structure is closer to that of a lower-level creature. Even if it's cut into pieces, it won't die. If the police don't completely burn the monster's fragments to ashes with flames, these fragments could potentially grow into new monsters after a period of time,"
Shiranui Mai assessed the monster's strength.
"These people are insane! This kind of monster shouldn't exist on the ground at all. Even we demons would shudder at the sight of it. According to humans, this monster is a demon from hell, far more terrifying than the ancient ferocious gods we've encountered,"
Lilith shook her head. As a demon herself, she couldn't understand why humans would do something so insane.
"This monster knows how to use tactics, knows when to escape and when to continue fighting, and its fighting methods are extremely bizarre. It seems this monster's intelligence is astonishing."
Yang Yan coldly observed the monster.
"Order the vampires and ninjas to be on high alert. This monster feeds entirely on other creatures, but anyway, this monster has little to do with us, and this land has nothing to do with us. As long as this monster doesn't attack our area, let it cause trouble."
Yang Yan gave the order.
"Yes."
Shiranui Mai and Yuri simultaneously accepted Yang Yan's instructions.
Although the night in Moscow was long, it eventually passed. People waking up from their slumber suddenly found that the entire city seemed somewhat different. Large numbers of troops and police had blocked traffic, and everyone was told not to leave their homes. Food and water would be distributed directly to residents by the army.
"Is the world about to change again?"
The people of Moscow seemed to have not experienced such extreme martial law in a long time. What had happened? All Muscovites were filled with doubts about the future.
Chapter 095: The Monster Unleashes a Bloodbath in Moscow .
The definition of happiness is different for everyone. For those struggling below the poverty line, a hearty meal is the greatest happiness. For most people in the world who chase fame and fortune, sleeping until they naturally wake up and counting money until their hands cramp is also a kind of happiness.
Of course, for an ordinary middle-aged man in Moscow who is content with his current situation, there is nothing more pleasant than waking up at his usual time and seeing his family sitting at the table, drinking hot milk and eating bread spread with butter.
Soda was such a man. When he woke up in the morning, he received a call from the military informing him that due to some special circumstances, he could temporarily not go to work, and his two lovely children would not have to go to school for the time being. Soda enjoyed a rare day off.
When night fell, Soda, who had completely relaxed all day, quickly fell asleep. It was truly a happy day.
Soda didn't know how long he had been asleep when he vaguely heard someone moving around in his house. He was startled awake, as his family wasn't wealthy; they were barely scraping by. If a burglar broke into their house, their finances would be strained for several months.
Soda got out of bed and took his metal baseball bat from the closet. He had been a passionate baseball fan in his youth, and owned a metal bat—a luxury item for him, though he had saved up his allowance for months to buy it.
Seeing his wife still fast asleep, Soda quietly opened his bedroom door and went outside. The room opposite his was where his two children slept; they were probably fast asleep by now. Soda closed his bedroom door and slowly walked down the stairs to the living room, which remained small and cluttered.
"Come out, I've found you."
Soda abruptly switched on the light switch, instantly illuminating the living room with a bright yellow light.
"Don't hide anymore. If you come out obediently, I promise I won't hurt you."
Soda gripped the metal baseball bat in his hand, speaking in the gentlest tone as he carefully searched the living room.
"You still want to hide? I really have seen you."
Finding nothing in the living room, Soda went into the kitchen. The kitchen, piled with clutter, clearly showed no trace of a thief.
"God, I hope I'm mistaken."
Finding nothing amiss, Soda turned off the lights in the kitchen and living room, then carried the metal baseball bat upstairs.
"Strange? Why is the door open?"
Soda had just returned upstairs when he immediately noticed that his children's bedroom door was now ajar, whereas it had been closed when he left.
"Alice? Jack?"
Soda took a deep breath, trying to calm his slightly tense emotions, then pushed open the door and softly called his children's names.
The door made a slightly grating turning sound, revealing complete darkness inside.
"Alice, Jack, are you there?"
Soda slowly reached out to press the light switch. The switch clicked crisply, but the bulb seemed to be broken; no matter how many times Soda pressed, the room remained dark.
"Alice, Jack, are you awake?"
Soda felt a little scared, but he still slowly walked inside, remembering a desk lamp on Alice's desk. He hoped it wasn't broken.
Soda groped his way to the desk, tentatively feeling around for a while before finally finding the lamp, locating the switch, and pressing it. A dim light came on, and Soda grabbed the lamp, its faint glow immediately illuminating the room.
"Alice, Jack, where are you?"
Looking at the disheveled sheets on the two single beds, clearly indicating the two children had slept there, but now neither bed was occupied, Soda's voice rose noticeably.
"Darling, get up, the children are gone!"
Soda rushed to his room. The moment he turned on the bedroom light, he let out a bloodcurdling scream—a scream born of extreme terror.
His bed was now occupied by a giant octopus, slowly swallowing half its body into its gaping maw. From the familiar clothes, Soda could clearly recognize his wife.
"Monster, spit it out!"
Soda, who had never been a hero in his life, seemed to have gone mad, swinging his metal baseball bat and charging at the giant octopus monster.
A huge tentacle pushed Soda's bat away, another coiled around his body, and then Soda lost consciousness for the last time.
"Open the door!"
The police patrolling the street had clearly heard Soda's scream and rushed to his house. The officer at the front shouted several times, but Soda didn't open the door, so he broke it down.
"Come out!"
The police, pistols at the ready, began searching the room.
"Monster!"
The police officers on the second floor suddenly saw a giant octopus monster trying to squeeze through the narrow doorway. Startled, they roared and immediately opened fire.
The bullets clearly didn't harm the monster; its tentacles shot out from the doorway, instantly grabbing the foremost officer and turning him into food with its enormous teeth.
"Back off! Back off!"
The remaining officers immediately began retreating while continuing to fire.
"Whoosh..."
Provoked by the constant threat of food, the octopus monster suddenly burst through the wall, its massive tentacles instantly engulfing over a dozen officers.
"Get out! Get out!"
Faced with the seemingly insurmountable octopus monster, all the officers chose to leave the house now inhabited by it.
"Fire!"
The moment the monster's tentacles extended beyond the dwelling, the arriving military unleashed a torrent of fire from their machine guns. The machine gun, worthy of its title as the king of firearms, tore through the octopus's skin with its bullet, much larger than a regular bullet, sending spurts of blue blood spraying onto the ground.
"Ugh..."
The injured octopus monster let out a terrifying howl and lunged at the military vehicle mounted on the machine gun.
"Get out of the way!"
Seeing the monster's ferocious approach, the first reaction of all the battle-hardened soldiers was to evade the dangerous vehicle.
The monster's massive body slammed into the vehicle, its countless tentacles instantly binding it tightly. The vehicle was then twisted into a strange shape like a pretzel before being devoured.
With a harsh metallic crack, the monster had swallowed the entire vehicle, its color changing from white to a near-black.
"Attack! Attack!"
Although terrified by the monster, the soldiers remained soldiers. These professional soldiers immediately drew their weapons to fight the monster. Dozens of rocket launchers and mortars roared as grenades and other explosive devices were hurled at it.
Amidst a terrifying explosion and flash of light, the monster's body was completely engulfed in thick smoke. The soldiers continued their frenzied attack until, half an hour later, when all their heavy firepower had been exhausted, these professional soldiers finally ceased their assault.
"Damn it, under such firepower, even steel would be completely vaporized. I don't believe this monster can withstand it."
The soldiers abandoned their heavy weapons, now devoid of ammunition, and cautiously approached the area radiating astonishing heat, guns at the ready.
"What's that?"
As the smoke dissipated, everything within the attacked area was gone, except for a red-hot iron block in the center, half-buried in the mud like a red egg.
"Watch out."
The commander's warning came too late. The entire iron block suddenly shattered, and countless red-hot iron fragments shot out like bullets towards the soldiers. The intense heat immediately released the nauseating smell of charred flesh.
Chapter 095 Lower Tsar Peter
"Ugh..."
The monster that emerged from the red-hot iron ball let out a deafening howl. Its enormous tentacles swept all the fallen corpses towards it, and then its huge mouth frantically devoured them all. The monster's body immediately swelled up considerably after consuming the corpses.
"I don't believe this monster can't be killed! Attack!"
At the commander's furious roar, several armed helicopters arrived above the monster. Under the monster's blood-red eyes, these armed helicopters launched a missile attack.
Huge plumes of smoke and shockwaves spread wildly, and the surrounding civilian settlements were completely destroyed in this frenzied attack. Missiles, a terrifying weapon that only appeared after World War II, demonstrated immense destructive power.
"Whoosh..."
Under the attack of this terrifying weapon, the monster lost about a third of its body, and dozens of tentacles were severed. Just as the armed helicopters were preparing to launch a second wave of attacks, the monster roared, and its tentacles extended, powerfully piercing through the helicopter cabins and pulling the roaring helicopters down. The monster clearly knew the terrifying power of these propellers, so instead of pulling the helicopters away, it forcefully flipped the high-speed spinning helicopters over, slamming the spinning propellers directly into the ground. The helicopter propellers immediately twisted and deformed, stopping their rotation.
"Whoosh..."
As soon as the helicopter propellers stopped, the monster pounced on them, devouring and biting them. The helicopters, along with the people inside, all became the monster's food.
"This monster is unkillable. Retreat! Defend!"
The commander's tone was filled with fear.
After devouring the helicopter, the monster continued its rampage, attacking other troops. A massacre engulfing half of Moscow began. With each person it consumed, the monster swelled, and humanity was utterly powerless against this terrifying creature.
"I never imagined that this monster we created would become our destroyer,"
the werewolf leader, his face still hidden behind a massive military cap, said bitterly as he watched the monster, much larger than before, rampage through Moscow.
"Your Majesty, let us werewolves go. Our strength is beyond the comprehension of ordinary people,"
several werewolves surrounding the leader pleaded.
"It's useless. You are no match for it. This monster grows stronger with each person it devours. It seems only I can deal with this monster personally,"
the werewolf leader sighed. The werewolves had lived on Russian soil for centuries; they couldn't bear to watch this monster destroy their last home. The werewolf leader transformed into a bolt of lightning and headed towards the decisive battleground.
"You monster, stop destroying this beautiful city!"
The werewolf leader transformed into a werewolf and roared at the monster.
"Woo..."
Although it had already suffered a great loss at the hands of the werewolf leader, the monster was clearly no longer afraid. It brandished its countless tentacles and lunged at the werewolf leader.
"I will destroy you today, you monster. Don't even think about escaping again!"
The werewolf leader's claws hardened like steel as it slashed at the monster. Based on yesterday's experience, the monster was a soft-bodied creature. Although it was strong, its limbs were not very tough. As long as it put its strength into it, it could hurt the monster.
But today, this method of attack was completely ineffective. The monster's skin had become as elastic as rubber. The werewolf leader's iron claws had just pierced the monster's skin, trying to tear off a limb. The place where the werewolf leader grabbed it immediately became like rubber. No matter how hard the werewolf leader tried, it could only stretch that limb longer and longer.
"This monster is evolving..."
The werewolf leader roared, furious that in just one day, the monster had learned how to deal with its violent iron claws.
"Ugh..."
Seeing the werewolf leader flee, the monster was clearly displeased and immediately gave chase.
"Soul-Scattering Iron Claws!"
the werewolf leader roared, charging at the monster again. The werewolf's immense power gathered in its iron claws, making them seem to double in size, the sharp claws resembling five parallel daggers. The werewolf leader had finally begun to use its unique technique.
Unlike its previous forceful clawing, the werewolf leader's iron claws now tore through the monster's limbs like sharp blades. Blue blood splattered everywhere.
"Ugh..."
Having been injured by its prey several times, the monster had entered a berserk phase, completely ignoring the werewolf's constantly wounding iron claws. Its massive body completely enveloped the werewolf leader, then suddenly contracted.
"You bastard..."
The contraction force of molluscs is always immense, especially that of a super-mutant creature like this monster. The immense compressive force nearly shattered the werewolf leader's bones.
Faced with this extremely dangerous situation, the werewolf leader roared again, its body rapidly expanding like an inflatable doll. Its powerful muscles unleashed astonishing strength to resist the monster's immense compressive force. The two were locked in a stalemate, but the werewolf leader quickly succumbed. Compared to the mollusc's sustained power, the werewolf's explosive force, while impressive, couldn't last.
"I'll eat you!"
Finally, driven to the brink of rage, the werewolf opened its massive jaws, disregarding whether the monster was edible, and began tearing at it with its sharp teeth. Feeling the pain, the monster continued to contract, and the werewolf's teeth relentlessly tore it to pieces.
A great battle—weren't eaten, monster's eaten—had begun.
"You bastard..."
Although the werewolf bit off several of the monster's tentacles, it was of little use against a monster with dozens of tentacles. The werewolf leader finally gave up and was swallowed whole.
"Your Majesty..."
Sensing the werewolf leader's heroic sacrifice, all the werewolves who had been hiding nearby surged out, surrounding the monster and ready to fight it to the death.
"Who is that guy?"
Yang Yan asked curiously, observing the battlefield from afar through state-of-the-art monitoring equipment.
"He should be the second most important figure among the werewolves, Tsar Peter."
Having confronted the werewolves for a thousand years, the vampires clearly had a better grasp of their intelligence than anyone else. Yuri looked at the werewolf leader on the monitor and said calmly.
"Tsar Peter?"
Yang Yan was puzzled.
“Peter was originally the Tsar of Russia. After becoming a werewolf, he left the royal family and became a link between Russia and the werewolves. He is currently the second most powerful figure among the werewolves, second only to the legendary Werewolf King in prestige. As for the legendary Werewolf King… he is a figure among werewolves similar to a vampire prince in our clan. There are even rumors that if the Werewolf King is killed, all werewolves will disappear, and werewolves will cease to exist in this world.”
Yuri explained the information about the werewolves.
"The greatest injustice suffered by emperors throughout history has been the pursuit of immortality. That's why Qin Shi Huang sent Xu Fu with three thousand boys and girls to find the elixir of life, and why the Egyptian pharaohs built those magnificent pyramids to preserve their bodies, hoping for resurrection. Immortality is the dream of all humankind. It's quite normal for Peter the Great to become a werewolf in his pursuit of immortality,"
Mai Shiranui sighed softly.
"Peter the Great died at the hands of this monster; perhaps it's time for the Werewolf King to step in,"
Yuri said, a glint of excitement in her eyes. The Werewolf King was an incredibly powerful being. Even Prince Dracula, wielding the Sword of Solomon, managed to hunt him down, but the Werewolf King escaped. His strength was evident. If the Werewolf King could be killed, then the werewolves would no longer be qualified to fight against the vampires. Now that the great vampire goddess Queen Lilith has awakened from her long slumber, the Werewolf King should be no match for her. Yuri is now over 90% confident that she can kill the werewolf king.
