[Fantasy] The Legend of the Eye of Desire (Complete) - 4

Chapter 010 Great Joy Zen Technique
"As expected of the place where Living Buddhas of past generations practiced, the spiritual energy fluctuations are so powerful."
As she walked up the corridor, Mai Shiranui's brows furrowed more and more. She had originally thought that Hidden Highland was the most conducive place for cultivation in the world, with the magical power of the monks of past generations making the spiritual energy of Hidden Highland active. However, she did not expect that the spiritual energy of the Potala Palace was so incredibly dense. The spiritual energy seemed to be condensed in the entire Potala Palace as if it were a real object. Even if one did not cultivate here, just taking a walk around here could strengthen one's body. She had only been here for a few minutes, but she could clearly feel that her aura had improved significantly.
"Really? I can't sense it."
Yang Yan looked around. Prayer wheels and swirls were everywhere, and countless believers were worshipping Buddha. Some elderly Tibetans, dressed in tattered clothes, took out expensive gold leaf from their robes with calloused hands and devoutly affixed it to the Buddha statues. The lower parts of many Buddha statues were already covered with thick, pure gold cylinders from the gold leaf.
As the crowd surged, an old man in his fifties or sixties knelt every three steps, then prostrated himself every nine, performing a full prostration, step by step towards the Buddha statue. Two bright red trails of blood stretched behind him, his knees were so worn that they were unrecognizable, and milky white fluid dripped continuously from his leather boots onto the ground.
"What is he doing?"
Yang Yan asked Shiranui Mai, puzzled, watching the old man's joy as he touched the Buddha statue.
"This is my first time here too. The rules here are different from those in Hidden Highland. How would I know?"
Shiranui Mai shook her head.
“His name is Dashiwa, from the Tibetan border. This is the third time in the past ten years that he has traveled from his hometown, prostrating himself every three steps and bowing every nine steps, to the Potala Palace.”
A deep male voice sounded behind the two. The two turned around and saw a middle-aged lama with dark skin, holding prayer beads, smiling at them.
“Master,” Mai Shiranui
said in broken Chinese, pressing her palms together in a gesture of respect.
“Welcome, guests from Japan,”
the middle-aged lama returned the greeting.
“How did you know we were from Japan?” Yang Yan found it very strange. “Buddha knows the past, present, and future three thousand lifetimes. Bodhisattvas can see the three thousand great chiliocosms with their wisdom eyes, knowing everything and nothing. Therefore, the decree of the Half-Tan Living Buddha cannot be wrong. I have been waiting for you here for three days since receiving the decree from the Half-Tan Living Buddha.” The middle-aged lama said with a smile. “The Half-Tan Living Buddha knew we were coming?” Yang Yan found it incredible. "Please, Master, introduce us to the Living Buddha Bancan." Although Mai Shiranui wasn't a Buddhist, the name of the Living Buddha Bancan commanded her immense respect. This Living Buddha, whose lineage spanned hundreds of years, possessed supernatural powers that had long been legendary throughout the world. The middle-aged lama smiled and nodded, leading the two past the crowds of tourists and straight to the top floor of the Potala Palace. Along the way, every lama who saw the middle-aged lama knelt down in worship. "Master, you must also be one of the contemporary Living Buddhas of the Tantric tradition, right?" Sensing the middle-aged lama's authority in the Potala Palace, Mai Shiranui tentatively inquired. "Hehe, Tibetans call me the Great Lama Sangye. Because I have followed the Living Buddha Bancan for seven lifetimes, they are quite polite to me," Sangye said very modestly. "Hehe, Master, you are too kind. Everyone knows that in Tibetan Tantric Buddhism, those who can reincarnate in the physical body and whose true spirit is immortal are Living Buddhas. I didn't expect that besides the Living Buddha Bancan, we would also meet the Living Buddha Sangye this time," Mai Shiranui said to the Living Buddha Sangye. "Living Buddha is the Tibetan title for a great practitioner of Tantric Buddhism. In the eyes of us great practitioners, the difference in cultivation among great practitioners is immeasurable. For five hundred years, I have cultivated diligently for seven lifetimes, yet I still cannot ascend to the Pure Land and sit on the lotus throne. The title of Living Buddha is truly unworthy," Sangjie Living Buddha sighed. "Sangjie, humans have seven emotions and six desires, three calamities and eight tribulations, which is why we are mired in this defiled world. Practitioners are plagued by thirteen great inner demons. You are single-mindedly focused on ascending to the Pure Land and sitting on the lotus throne, so you can never pass the final hurdle. When you let go of your desire to become a Buddha, you can truly transcend the suffering of this mortal world." A boy's voice, still somewhat childish, came from the room ahead. "Thank you for your guidance, Master." Sangjie Living Buddha pushed open the door, led the two into the room, and bowed to the short figure with his back to the door. "Sangjie, you may leave." The short figure slowly turned around. "You are the Half-Tripitaka Living Buddha?" Yang Yan looked at the person in front of him in disbelief. A boy who looked no more than eleven or twelve years old, dressed in a lama robe inlaid with gold thread, rhythmically moved a string of prayer beads between his slender fingers. Although the clothes appeared to be high-end clothing that ordinary people couldn't afford, it was hard to connect him at such a young age with the revered Bancan Living Buddha, who was practically half a Tibetan king. "That's right, I am the reincarnation of Bancan in this life." The boy revealed a childlike smile. "This Bancan has only been reincarnated for about ten years; he should be the real Bancan Living Buddha." Mai Shiranui clearly knew more than Yang Yan. "Please sit down, both of you." Bancan Living Buddha switched to Japanese. "A monk can understand Japanese?" Yang Yan found it even more strange. "Going back four times, the Japanese Tantric sect sent high-ranking monks to the Potala Palace to seek Tantric scriptures. That's when I learned Japanese." Bancan explained. "Could it be that a Living Buddha reincarnated can really be reincarnated with memories?" Mai Shiranui was clearly very curious about this. No matter the country in the world, memories of past lives are erased after reincarnation. To be able to reincarnate with this wisdom is simply incredible. "The Dharma is boundless. We lamas practice through the Dharma, receive the blessings of the Buddha, and are reincarnated to cultivate anew, carrying the wisdom and supernatural powers of our past lives. Only then can we better understand the mysteries of the Dharma in this life. What I can remember is nothing more than the bits and pieces of my ten lifetimes. Compared to the Buddha, who has reincarnated millions of times in a moment, and whose divine attention has covered all the events, big and small, in the past, future, and three thousand lifetimes, it is as if the light of a firefly cannot compete with the brilliance of the moon." The Living Buddha Bancan said with a smile. "Hehe, a Living Buddha is indeed a Living Buddha. Since you know our purpose, you must have already prepared the Great Wheel King Subduing Demon Mantra for us." Yang Yan felt that the Living Buddha in front of him was extremely envious. "Unfortunately, no." The Living Buddha Bancan shook his head. "Master, the Yaksha Demon Blade is currently threatening all of Japan. The Hidden Koya of the Japanese Esoteric Buddhism sect has already been destroyed by the Yaksha Demon Blade. If a high-ranking monk doesn't use the Great Wheel King Subduing Demon Mantra to subdue the demon blade, after Japan's destruction, the Yaksha Demon Blade will inevitably threaten the entire world. Tibet is only separated from Japan by the Central Plains of China, and the Yaksha Demon Blade will likely come to Tibet very soon." Mai Shiranui, being concerned about the survival of Japan, quickly said to the Living Buddha Bancan. "Gentlemen, it's not that I'm unwilling to give you the Great Wheel King Subduing Demon Mantra, but rather that I simply don't know it. Moreover, not only do I not know it, but no one in the entire world knows our Esoteric Buddhism's most powerful subduing demon mantra."

Bancan Rinpoche shook his head and explained.
"How could this be? Don't you possess memories of your previous ten lives? With your magical power, how could you not know the Great Wheel King Subduing Demon Mantra?"
Mai Shiranui was extremely surprised.
"There are countless kinds of Dharma, each with its own basis. In our Tantric practice, there are four most common methods of practice: there is the Great Sun Tathagata Mantra, which I practice and was passed down from my Buddha; there is the ascetic practice of training oneself and stimulating one's body with various cruel methods; there is the Joyful Meditation method passed down from the Tantric master, the Great Joyful Buddha; and the last one is what you are seeking, the Vidyaraja Mantra."
Bancan continued to explain.
"The Vidyaraja Mantra is one of the most powerful practices in Esoteric Buddhism. In Buddhism, Vidyarajas are those who have achieved enlightenment through violence, using the principle of eliminating demons as a form of good. They can be considered the most unique Buddhas and Bodhisattvas in Buddhism. Asuras are the fighting gods of the heavens; with a single wrath from an Asura, the three realms are emptied. Even the angrier Asura can only turn away when encountering a Vidyaraja. In particular, the Great Wheel Vidyaraja, the head of the 300,000 Vidyarajas, is also known as the Peacock Vidyaraja. In Esoteric Buddhism, she is called the Peacock Great Wheel Vidyaraja Buddha Mother Bodhisattva, and she is the third-ranked Mahayana Buddha among the thirty-six Mahayana Buddhas in Buddhism, even above Vairocana Buddha. The Great Wheel Vidyaraja Subduing Demon Mantra is the most powerful secret mantra in Esoteric Buddhism. Legend has it that once the mantra is uttered, the power of the Great Wheel Vidyaraja manifests in the human world. Not only are demons subdued, but even all the gods within a three-thousand-mile radius of the void will vanish under the power of the mantra."
"The Buddha is merciful. Because the Great Wheel King Mantra for Subduing Demons is so powerful, it is contrary to the laws of nature. Therefore, high-ranking Tantric monks who practice this mantra often suffer the torment of inner demons during their Nirvana, turning all their cultivation to dust and falling back into the mortal world. Eight hundred years ago, the patriarch of Tantric Buddhism in China, Zoga Myo-wang, traveled east to Japan. To destroy the demonic sword, he activated the Great Wheel King Mantra for Subduing Demons. After returning to China, he meditated facing a wall on Mount Emei for a hundred years before attaining enlightenment. Before his enlightenment, Zoga Myo-wang transmitted a message to the great Tantric monks, saying that the Great Wheel King Mantra for Subduing Demons was contrary to the laws of nature and should not appear in the human world. Therefore, he sealed away the three most powerful Tantric mantras. Zoga Myo-wang, in his Buddhahood, made a vow, and at that time, the high-ranking Tantric monks who practiced these three mantras forgot them under this vow. Therefore, no matter where you go or how you search, you will not be able to find the Great Wheel King Mantra for Subduing Demons,"
said the Living Buddha Bancan with a smile.
"Without the Great Wheel King's Subduing Demon Mantra, I wonder if Half-Buddha has any other way to subdue the Yaksha Demon Blade?"
Mai Shiranui asked solemnly.
"The Yaksha Demon Blade is an extreme form of evil magic. The blade itself is an ominous weapon, drawing blood and inciting slaughter. Even within our Buddhist sect, which subdues demons and upholds the righteous path, it incurs much sin. The Yaksha Demon Blade's evil magic has four essential elements: First, it must be a demonic blade capable of slaughtering tens of thousands, absorbing the resentment of millions, thus becoming the most evil object in the world. Second, it must have the soul of a bloodthirsty warrior as a catalyst to awaken the demonic heart of the blade. Third, it must find a place where countless vengeful spirits gather to open a passage between the demon realm and the mortal world. Fourth, it must have the blood of a supreme spiritual being as a sacrifice to summon demonic spirits from the demon realm to possess the evil blade, completely corrupting it. The last demonic blade summoned by the Yaksha was the Yaksha's own beloved blade, the warrior's soul was the Yaksha's own soul, the place of vengeful spirits was the battlefield where the Yaksha slaughtered three thousand Japanese warriors, and the blood of the supreme spiritual being was the blood of the traitor Hidden Takano. This time..." The demonic sword is many times more powerful than the one from eight hundred years ago. The Japanese are inherently a bloodthirsty people, and their ingrained bestiality is perfect for creating evil artifacts. The demonic sword used this time is a famous one in Japanese history. As a descendant of the Yaksha, Yaksha-hime's martial arts skills should be no less than those of the Yaksha from eight hundred years ago. What she lacks is simply some bloodlust, but the difference in the demonic sword is enough to make up for that. The summoning ritual was performed at an ancient castle with a barrier set up by the Bloodline. Over the past eight hundred years, the barrier in the castle has absorbed countless vengeful spirits, and the castle itself is already half-demonic. Furthermore, Yaksha-hime used the blood of a supreme spiritual being, and even more so, the blood of the King's Eye. I think that apart from the Great Wheel King's Subduing Demon Mantra, the Tantric sect really has no way to fight against the demonic sword summoned in this way.”
Half-Buddha shook his head.
“…”
Mai Shiranui frowned and remained silent.
"You don't need to be too disappointed. Although my Tantric sect can't deal with the Yaksha Demon Blade, it doesn't mean that no one can counter it. The Yaksha Demon Blade is, after all, just a demonic weapon. Moreover, the incantations of Japanese Tantric Buddhism are not perfect. Just in terms of weapon-to-weapon combat, there are many magical artifacts in the world that can counter the Yaksha Demon Blade. My Buddhist sect has the Seven Treasures Golden Banner, the Eight-Tone Heavenly Dragon Sword, and the Nine-Rank Lotus Platform. The Taoist sects of the Central Plains have the Heaven-Turning Seal, the Universe Umbrella, and the Haotian Mirror, etc. However, these are rare treasures, and those with affinity will obtain them. If you want to find these magical treasures, you will need a certain affinity."
The Living Buddha Bancan explained to the two.
"But the Yaksha Demon Blade's final appearance date is only ten days away..."
Mai Shiranui said worriedly.
"Don't worry, the gentleman beside you has a full forehead and a square jaw, a dragon among men, a rare gem, handsome and dashing, with an extraordinary bearing and extraordinary spirit. He's practically a unicorn among men, an idol of the world. As long as you're by his side, nothing is impossible. Maybe the stone you kick when you go out will be the Heaven-Turning Seal."
When the Living Buddha Bancan said these words, Yang Yan felt that this little Living Buddha looked more like a delinquent teenager who had watched too many Stephen Chow movies.
"Him?"
Mai Shiranui's heart stirred, and her gaze couldn't help but fall on Yang Yan. Abbot Yin Gaoye also seemed to care a lot about this kid, and according to the family's confidential information, Japan's number one master, Teng Yuanzhai, was pushing his three precious granddaughters to him like a counterfeit product. Could this man really have something worth paying attention to?
"You make me feel so embarrassed, you describe me as so outstanding, but why haven't you given me any decent gift?"
Yang Yan was a little suspicious of whether this twelve or thirteen-year-old child was really the number one monk of Tantric Buddhism, the Living Buddha Bancan, so he started to extort money.
"You know, we monks are all very poor, relying entirely on alms from believers. How dare you ask us for anything?"
Bancan Living Buddha immediately said.
"You're kidding me! Just look at those Buddha statues outside, they're almost entirely made of gold. Look at your room, it's full of antiques from various dynasties. You're poor? You're kidding me!"
Yang Yan wasn't so easily fooled.
"Hehe, the Buddha statues are offerings from believers, we can't very well give them away. The antiques in my room are all everyday items, you wouldn't get a good price for them. Well then, since you've come to our little temple, I can't just leave you without giving you something. I'll give you two books."
Bancan Living Buddha got up and walked to his bookshelf. Facing a large pile of parchment scrolls and pamphlets, he rummaged through them for a while before finally finding two thin pamphlets.
"These two books should be very useful to you."
Bancan Living Buddha handed the books to Yang Yan.
"What kind of books are these? There's not a single Chinese character, how am I supposed to read them?"
Yang Yan frowned as he looked at the strange characters in the books.
"What the heart focuses on, the god remembers. You can't understand it now because you haven't grasped the true power of the King's Eye. Once you begin to comprehend the true power of the King's Eye, you will be able to understand it,"
said the Half-Buddha, sounding like an enlightened monk.
"...Stop pretending. Fine, even if you're just trying to appease me, take the scriptures you're holding and sell them outside the Daoist world. Your Tibetan followers will definitely pay a high price for them,"
Yang Yan casually flipped through the two books.
"My books are of little use to a ninja, but as a ninja, you will inevitably encounter some very dangerous situations when serving your master in the future. So I'll give you two strings of prayer beads. These two strings of prayer beads are blessed with my magic power; I hope they can protect you."
The revered Living Buddha Bancan solemnly handed two strings of white jade prayer beads to Mai Shiranui.
"I am very grateful..."
Mai Shiranui accepted the beads with slight excitement. She knew that prayer beads blessed by high-ranking Tantric monks possessed incredible protective power, and the Living Buddha Bancan was a pinnacle representative of Tantric monks; a protective amulet blessed by him could sometimes be used as a second life.
"My evening prayers are over. Tonight, I will ask you two to rest in the Potala Palace. I hope you will not refuse."
The Living Buddha Bancan closed his eyes, and the prayer beads began to rhythmically slide across his fingers. Suddenly, Mai Shiranui felt as if the Living Buddha Bancan's aura had completely vanished from the room. Although her eyes clearly told her that the Living Buddha Bancan was in the room, a ninja's sense of presence clearly indicated that only she and Yang Yan were in the room.
"Gentlemen, Master has entered meditation. Please follow me,"
the Living Buddha Sangjie's voice sounded from behind.
“The Potala Palace is very peaceful at night; everyone is engaged in their own practice.”
Leading the two through the tranquil halls of the Potala Palace, and noticing their odd reaction to the quiet surroundings, Sangjie Rinpoche explained.
“This is the room we use to entertain distinguished guests. Your meal is ready. If you need anything, please tell the young lamas outside, and we will try our best to accommodate your requests. My evening prayers are over;
please make yourselves at home.” Sangjie Rinpoche led the two to a very quiet, brightly lit, private courtyard, and after settling them in, he took his leave.
In such an ancient religious palace, neither of them felt particularly inclined to eat. After finishing the exquisite dishes prepared by the young lamas, they were each led to their respective resting places.
“How boring! The life of a monk is incredibly boring.”
Unaccustomed to going to bed early, Yangyan lay on a thick woolen blanket, listlessly daydreaming.
“What kind of book is this?”
Bored, Yangyan began to flip through the book given to him by Bancan Rinpoche that day.
“The Great Joyful Meditation?”
Yangyan suddenly realized that the characters weren't actually difficult to recognize. With careful observation, these characters are easily recognizable. However, although Yang Yan recognized them, he was very clear that these characters were not actually Chinese characters. Strangely, it seemed that he really knew these characters.
This book, "Great Joyful Zen Kung Fu," was not thick, and Yang Yan finished reading it in less than half an hour. This book should be a kind of Tantric Buddhist practice. According to the book, this set of practices was passed down from the Tantric Buddhist leader, the Great Joyful Buddha. The Great Joyful Buddha is a very unique figure in Buddhism.
Chapter 011 Guanyin vs. Great Joyful
Heaven The Great Joyful Buddha, originally named Great Joyful Heaven, was the fourth son of the Demon Sect leader, Great Free Heaven. He ranked sixth among the thirteen Great Demons of the Demon Sect, in charge of lust and pleasure. Seventeen hundred years ago, to cooperate with the eastward spread of Buddhism, the Four Great Bodhisattvas came to the East. The leader of the Four Great Bodhisattvas, Venerable Guanyin, fought a great battle with Great Joyful Heaven at Liuyun Lower Temple. The battle lasted for forty-nine days, and the outcome was inconclusive. On the forty-ninth day, Guanyin made a bet with the Great Joyful Heaven. Within eighty-one days, if the Great Joyful Heaven could disturb Guanyin's meditative mind, Guanyin would betray Buddhism and join the demonic sect, becoming the Great Joyful Heaven's demoness. If the Great Joyful Heaven could not shake Guanyin's meditative mind, then the Great Joyful Heaven, in the form of the sixth heavenly demon, would convert to Buddhism.
For eighty-one consecutive days, in the Great Joyful Heaven's blissful realm, Guanyin experienced the most intense entanglements of human desire. Even in the most passionate climax, when her body was completely submerged in the abyss of lust, Guanyin maintained her unwavering meditative mind. After eighty-one
days, the Great Joyful Heaven, in the form of a demon god, converted to Buddhism, becoming one of the most unique Buddhas in Buddhism, a Mahayana Buddha who used sexual intercourse as a method of practice.
The Great Joyful Zen Practice uses the union of men and women as a method of cultivation, borrowing the power of Yin and Yang to refine the power of creation. While it may not actually lead to Buddhahood, it can definitely enhance the pleasure of sexual intercourse and greatly improve male virility. It is truly an essential item for newlyweds, a key to marital harmony, and the best gift for relatives and friends.
After reading the Great Joyful Zen Practice, Yang Yan felt as if a current of energy was flowing through his body according to the book's description. Wherever this energy passed, Yang Yan felt a deep drowsiness, and he drifted off to sleep without realizing it.
Pink smoke lightly filled the sky and earth, making the entire world seem pink.
Yang Yan looked at this pink environment strangely. He remembered doing something else just now; when did he end up in this strange place?
A grand gate, a towering golden gate reaching into the clouds. Upon it, a majestic Buddha sat, glaring angrily. Most strikingly, unlike other Buddhas who hold ritual implements or perform hand gestures, this Buddha cradles a stunningly beautiful woman. The woman straddles the Buddha, her legs tightly wrapped around his waist, her face radiating unbridled pleasure. At the point where the woman and Buddha meet, the Buddha's enormous member majestically merges into her body.
A strange gate, a strange Buddha—this strange appearance was thus revealed before Yang Yan.
Slowly, Yang Yan pushed open the door, and an incredibly intense beam of light shot out from it. In a flash, Yang Yan found himself in a magnificent palace. The entire palace was pink, and the floor was made of polished, mirror-smooth, snow-white jade. Thirteen massive golden pillars supported the palace, each entwined with a five-clawed golden dragon. The occasional movement of the dragons' eyes or the breath they exhaled indicated that they were all alive. At the top of the hall, countless pearls projecting white light illuminated the entire space. In the center of the hall, a young man slept surrounded by a group of beautiful young women.
"Amitabha, this humble monk, Guanyin of Buddhism, requests the Great Joyful Heavenly Venerable to come out and answer my questions."
Just as Yang Yan was about to get a clearer view of the young women's naked and alluring bodies, a peaceful and melodious female voice came from outside the hall.
"Guanyin? One of the four newly appointed Bodhisattvas of Buddhism?"
The young man opened his eyes, sat up, and shook his head, seemingly trying to confirm the identity of the visitor.
“That annoying monk, disturbing my sweet dreams…”
“Yeah, I felt so good yesterday, and now I’m too tired…”
“Hehe, Master is so amazing, I love Master so much…”
As the young man sat up, the beautiful girls all scrambled to their feet, their soft voices filling the air.
“You little vixens, let’s take care of business first. I’ll deal with that monk later.”
The young man patted the pink buttocks of the girl who had immediately taken his manhood into her mouth upon waking, laughing as he spoke.
“Haha, yesterday Master loved you so much, you cried and begged Master to forgive you, and now you’re clinging to Master as soon as you wake up…”
The girls started playfully wrestling.
The young man looked at the naked women on the bed with affection, smiled, stood up, and slowly walked out of the main hall. As he walked, several layers of snow-white gauze covered his strong body.
Yang Yan watched as the young man arrived outside the main hall. A hundred meters above the hall, a girl of about twelve or thirteen years old stood behind a beautiful woman in white sitting on a lotus platform, holding a staff more than twice her height. A white parrot with a red beak perched on the woman's shoulder.
Yang Yan scrutinized the beautiful woman. She wore a snow-white gauze dress, her exceptionally long legs completely encased within it. Her two slender, jade-like hands, one held in a lotus mudra at her chest, the other cradling a white jade bottle on her lap. The skin on her hands was even smoother and more delicate than jade itself. Her jet-black hair was styled in a pure gold bun atop her head, cascading down her back like a waterfall. Her exquisite features were flawless, a single blood-red pearl between her brows, and a verdant nine-tiered lotus platform beneath her revealed her identity as a highly accomplished Buddhist practitioner.
"Not bad, quite beautiful,"
the young man smiled at the beautiful Buddhist practitioner before him, snapping his fingers. A red cloud appeared beneath his feet, rising into the air and lifting him to face the woman.
"A Bodhisattva of Mahayana Buddhism, Avalokiteshvara greets the Great Joyful Heavenly Venerable,"
the woman said, smiling and nodding in respect.
"Don't be so polite. Your Buddhism and my religion have always been enemies. I, the Great Joyful Heaven whom you call the one who leads people astray, am someone you'd like to get rid of as soon as possible. I'm sure you, the Venerable Guanyin, have no good reason to come to me,"
the Great Joyful Heaven said directly.
"Nine days ago, this humble monk made a vow before the Buddha Tathagata to open the gates of expediency, to widely guide all sentient beings in the mortal world to Buddhahood, to save those suffering and seek their cries. All sentient beings in the world who call upon my name, I will surely save them from the sea of suffering. A thousand calls will be answered, ten thousand calls will be granted. If even one sentient being in the world has not attained Buddhahood, I will never attain Buddhahood. Your demonic religion bewitches people, causing them to commit sins such as lust and murder. Of all evils, lust is the worst, and you, the Great Joyful Heavenly Venerable, preside over lustful affairs. Therefore, this humble monk hopes that the Heavenly Venerable will leave this mortal world and restore a pure sky for all sentient beings,"
the beautiful woman said calmly.
"If even one being in this world fails to attain Buddhahood, then you will never attain Buddhahood... Brilliant, indeed brilliant! I never imagined that Buddhism would devise such a despicable method to enhance its power. Guanyin, I think your power already surpasses that of most Mahayana Buddhas. No wonder you dare to come looking for trouble with me in the guise of a Bodhisattva."
Da Huanxi Tian revealed a disdainful expression. The essence of Buddhist practice is cause and effect, the cycle of karma. Those who transcend all cause and effect can attain Buddhahood. Bodhisattvas, as practitioners in the world of Buddhism, cultivate through vows. The greater the vow, the greater the power. The so-called vow power is the power of a wish. The higher the difficulty of the wish, the greater the power of that wish. Guanyin made several impossible wishes in succession. These impossible wishes naturally generated immense vow power. While this opportunistic method allows these Bodhisattva practitioners to acquire powerful magic, it also cuts off their path to Buddhahood. It is fundamentally a heretical and unorthodox method of cultivation, and Da Huanxi Tian naturally despises such opportunistic practices.
"To save all sentient beings in the mortal world, even if Guanyin falls into the Avici Hell and sinks into eternal damnation, she will have no regrets."
Guanyin revealed a compassionate expression.
"Although your method can cleverly obtain boundless magical power, you seem to have forgotten something else."
Da Huanxi Tian revealed a confident smile.
"I am the Great Joyful Heaven, an immortal demon god. Even if this universe is destroyed, I will still exist forever. No power in this world can kill me. Not even your Great Sun Tathagata, or my father, the Great Free Heavenly Venerable, can harm me. As for you, no matter how high your magical power is, you are still just a Bodhisattva. You haven't become a Buddha, so you can't possess the Buddha's indestructible body. Without an indestructible golden body, you will die if you receive a blow from a force you cannot withstand. Haha, I will not die, but you will. I have already secured an invincible position. You have no chance of winning against me. Little girl, give up and leave my Liuyun Lower Temple. I don't like killing women."
"As long as the Great Joyful Heavenly Venerable agrees to leave this mortal world, this humble monk will naturally not fight with the Great Joyful Heavenly Venerable,"
Guanyin said calmly.
"I teach according to my own will, free and unrestrained in my practice. I really like this Liuyun Lower Temple and have been here for a hundred years. I don't intend to leave immediately. If you want to send me away, let the Great Sun Tathagata come himself."
Da Huanxi Tian turned and descended from the red clouds, not intending to get entangled with Guanyin.
"Since Da Huanxi Tianzun is unwilling to leave this mortal world, this humble monk has no choice but to offend you."
Guanyin said earnestly .
"I don't have time to deal with you."
Da Huanxi Tian frowned, reached out and flicked out a point of pink light. The point of pink light spread out immediately after leaving Da Huanxi Tian's finger, enveloping the entire palace.
"Amitabha, forgive me."
Guanyin chanted a Buddhist prayer. Her jade hand, which had been holding the lotus mudra, changed its hand seal and finally slammed down on the palace covered in pink light. Instantly, a huge golden palm surrounded by lightning appeared out of thin air. With Guanyin's gesture, it directly struck the pink light, and the pink light immediately rippled as if a stone had been thrown into the water.
"Demon-Slaying Hand, Guanyin, you're courting death!"
Seeing Guanyin strike first, Da Huanxi Tian's anger surged. A murderous glint flashed in his eyes, and he soared into the air, crashing into the enormous golden palm. Da Huanxi Tian's body, smaller than a fingernail of the golden palm, collided with it, and the golden palm instantly shattered into countless golden fragments that vanished into the air.
"Since you can't understand human language, then I'll beat you until you do,"
Da Huanxi Tian said coldly.
"As soon as the Heavenly Venerable leaves the mortal world, this humble monk will immediately apologize to the Heavenly Venerable,"
Guanyin said with a smile.
"No need for apologies. I, Da Huanxi Tian, have demonesses from all races. Thinking about it, the only thing missing is a Buddhist Bodhisattva. Once I capture you, I'll train you into a female dog, making this newly born Buddhist Mahayana Bodhisattva my pet. It will be very interesting."
Da Huanxi Tian was clearly genuinely enraged by Guanyin's provocation.
"Since the Heavenly Venerable insists on not leaving the mortal world, this humble monk has no choice but to take action to subdue demons and protect the righteous path."
Guanyin uttered a Buddhist chant, and a thousand layers of Buddhist light surged from the lotus platform beneath her seat. The staff held by the little girl behind her was now in her hand. As Guanyin waved the staff, a nine-headed divine dragon, several miles in diameter, emerged from the top of the staff, spewing wind, fire, thunder, and lightning. For a moment, the sky darkened, and it seemed that only Guanyin's lotus throne and the astonishingly powerful staff existed between heaven and earth.
"The old Buddha's Heavenly Dragon Staff, humph, no matter how powerful this broken stick is, it may not be able to defeat me."
Da Huanxi Tian sneered, his left hand making a claw gesture in the air, and a snow-white whip appeared out of thin air. When the whip appeared, it was only three or four meters long, but in the blink of an eye, it transformed into a snow-white whip cloud that surged in the sky, layer upon layer, covering half the sky. As Da Huanxi Tian shook the whip, the five or six-meter-thick whip lashed fiercely at the nine-headed dragon. In an instant, the dragon's wail, the sound of the whip lashing, and the chaotic sounds of wind and thunder reverberated between heaven and earth.
"As it is, so it is; as it is, so it is. The Heaven-Splitting Whip is the supreme treasure cultivated by the Great Joyful Heavenly Venerable for three thousand years. This humble monk is indeed no match for the Heavenly Venerable with only the Heavenly Dragon Staff. But what if I were to add my Jade Purification Bottle?"
Guanyin chanted a Buddhist prayer, releasing the Heavenly Dragon Staff and drawing a willow branch from the Jade Purification Bottle. The willow branch grew in the wind, transforming into countless tendrils that coiled around the nine-headed dragon's body, layer upon layer, as if adding a well-fitting green armor to the dragon.
Clad in green armor, the nine-headed dragon had clearly recovered much of its strength. No longer being torn to pieces by the Great Joyful Heavenly Venerable's Heaven-Splitting Whip, it instead continuously spewed wind, fire, and lightning from the gaps in the whip, targeting the Great Joyful Heavenly Venerable who was surrounded by it.
"A beast is always a beast, even in green clothes."
With a cold laugh, Da Huanxi Tian released his long whip, letting it fight the nine-headed dragon on its own. He transformed into a streak of red light and charged directly at the dragon. With a thunderous roar, Da Huanxi Tian's fist slammed heavily into one of the dragon's heads. The immense force sent the dragon's head, dozens of meters long, flying sideways. The nine heads immediately became chaotic, easily crushed by Da Huanxi Tian's fist, like a harmless caterpillar.
"Amitabha..."
Guanzizai chanted a Buddhist prayer, rising from his lotus platform and placing his jade bottle at the center. He plucked a leaf from a willow branch, which instantly grew larger, transforming into a three-foot-long willow-leaf sword.
"This humble monk will use a willow leaf as a sword to test the Great Celestial Venerable's fist,"
Guanzizai said, his white robes fluttering as he deflected Da Huanxi Tian's fist aimed at the dragon's head.
"Not bad, quite clever, trying to avoid physical confrontation with me. Looking closely, your figure is actually quite nice; I must make you my slave."
Da Huanxi Tian sneered, his eyes sweeping fiercely over Guan Zizai's high breasts and slender waist. Lust surged within him, a powerful desire flowing through his body, instantly transforming into Da Huanxi Tian's boundless demonic power. The heavens and earth changed color, a pink aura seemingly covering the entire universe, the true power of the Great Heavenly Demon fully revealed to the world.
"The Heavenly Venerable's killing intent is too overwhelming, defying the heavens and earth. It would be better to lay down your butcher's knife and become a Buddha on the spot."
Guan Zizai smiled slightly, her longsword, empowered by the power of Prajna, transforming into the Vajra Subduing Demon Sword, confronting Da Huanxi Tian's fist.
"Nonsense!"
Da Huanxi Tian roared, his Heaven-Splitting Whip behind him immediately clashing with the Nine-Headed Divine Dragon once more. In the duel between the two behemoths, every contact between Da Huanxi Tian's fist and Guan Zizai's longsword caused the heavens and earth to tremble, uncontrollable shockwaves covering the sky and earth.
"Damn, compared to these two monsters, the Yaksha Demon Blade is nothing but a child..."
Amidst the trembling of heaven and earth, Yang Yan, already beyond human, was nearly brought to tears by the shockwaves that sent him flying through the air. The feeling of being sandwiched between two such powerful beings...
He didn't know how much time had passed before the dust settled. The Nine-Headed Divine Dragon and the Heaven-Splitting Whip had vanished. Guanyin and Da Huanxi Tian remained seemingly unaffected, locked in a silent standoff in the void. Neither of them had changed much, and apart from the two of them, it seemed that everything in the world had ceased to exist. The once beautiful landscape had been transformed into a boundless yellow desert, devoid of any sign of life. Da Huanxi Tian's golden palace and Guanyin's lotus platform floated in mid-air, swaying incessantly.
"Our power has already reached the pinnacle of the world. If we continue fighting, the space of Liuyun Lower Temple will rupture, endangering the mortal realm. Perhaps we should try a different method of combat,"
Guanyin said slowly, sheathing her sword.
"Hmph, you started this fight. My final blow wasn't a restrained attack; the Flowing Cloud Lower Academy has already suffered a spatial collapse, causing changes in the mortal realm. What are you pretending to be merciful for now?"
Da Huanxi Tian felt extremely oppressed. If it weren't for the fear of triggering a mortal catastrophe, he would have already unleashed his full power to completely annihilate this woman. He hadn't expected that restraining his power would result in a stalemate lasting dozens of days. Finally, she slightly increased her power, and with one strike, she almost completely destroyed the Flowing Cloud Lower Academy, which he had built from scratch, endangering the mortal realm and causing a cataclysmic disaster. Da Huanxi Tian was extremely uncomfortable and angry. The consequences were severe. Da Huanxi Tian was now considering whether to storm Mount Ling and cause trouble for the old Buddha. Even if Mount Ling was destroyed, it wouldn't concern him. Besides, Mount Ling was so far from the mortal realm that even if it was completely destroyed, it wouldn't have a significant impact on the mortal world.
“Great Heavenly Venerable’s power is boundless. If I hadn’t used trickery, I wouldn’t have been able to stand against you for so many days. I know I can’t defeat you, so I’ve decided to use my supreme Zen mind to convert you and have you take refuge in Buddhism. Amitabha.”
Guanyin said with a smile.
“Haha, you want me to take refuge in that old man Tathagata? What a joke! I think you’d better obediently become my demoness. That old man Tathagata will definitely not be able to cause me any trouble. You can do whatever you want then. It will definitely be much happier than your current life.”
Da Huanxi laughed.
“That’s fine too. I’ll make a bet with the Great Heavenly Venerable. If I win, the Great Heavenly Venerable will take refuge in Buddhism with me and become a Buddha in my Buddhist sect. If I lose, I will leave Buddhism and let the Heavenly Venerable decide my fate.”
Guanyin said confidently with a smile.
Chapter 012 Sisterly Affection
"A bet? Tell me, let's see what kind of tricks you're up to."
Da Huanxi Tian looked at Guanyin warily. He knew that Buddhists were very skilled in cunning; in previous battles with them, they had only gained the upper hand through trickery. Having experienced hundreds of battles with the Buddhists, Da Huanxi Tian was already wary of their treachery.
"The Heavenly Venerable controls the desires of men and women, and his Great Joy Demon Art uses the desires of men and women as a catalyst to seize the boundless divine power of the union of heaven and earth for his own use. This is the Way of Form. But our Buddhist sect emphasizes formlessness and emptiness. Even if we were to enter Avici Hell and suffer a thousand tortures, it would be difficult to move our Zen mind. This is formlessness and emptiness, selflessness and emptiness. How about this humble monk challenges the Great Heavenly Venerable's Great Joy Demon Art with the Way of Formlessness?"
Guanyin said with a slight smile.
"How do you challenge me?"
Da Huanxi Tian frowned, unable to figure out what Guanyin was up to.
"This humble monk will seal his magical powers for forty-nine days. During these forty-nine days, this humble monk will open his original spirit, at the mercy of the Heavenly Venerable. If, within forty-nine days, the Heavenly Venerable can make this humble monk submit and shake his Zen mind, this humble monk will submit to the Great Heavenly Venerable. If, after forty-nine days, the Heavenly Venerable still cannot shake this humble monk's Zen mind, then this humble monk will win, and the Great Heavenly Venerable will convert to Buddhism. How about that?"
Guanyin laughed.
"Well done, Guanyin! Among the three religions, you are the only one who dares to challenge me with lust. I agree!"
Da Huanxi Tian laughed wildly.
"May Buddha Tathagata bear witness! This disciple Guanyin now challenges Da Huanxi Tianzun. If my Zen mind wavers and I become addicted to lust, this disciple will submit to Da Huanxi Tianzun's judgment and will never go back on my word."
Guanyin bowed to the west and made a vow.
"By the name of the Great Free Heaven, I, the Great Joyful Heaven, today wager with Avalokiteshvara. If I am defeated, I will convert to Buddhism. The gods and demons of the Three Heavens will bear witness."
The Great Joyful Heaven also made a vow. ...(This part is omitted for now. If you want to read it, just say so, and I'll write it out when I have time. I'll also find a way to share it with everyone. Writing it out here would make it an H-book.) ...
"Damn it, wake up already..."
A voice like thunder suddenly rang in his ears. Yang Yan felt as if he had stepped into thin air, his body sinking as if he had fallen from a great height, and he immediately broke out in a cold sweat. When he came to his senses, he realized that he was lying in bed. As soon as he opened his eyes, a cold gaze was staring at him, making Yang Yan break out in a cold sweat again. When he looked closely, he realized that the owner of those eyes was actually Mai Shiranui.
"It's good that you're awake. Hurry up and get ready, the plane is about to take off."
Mai Shiranui said coldly.
"What plane is about to take off?"
Yang Yan was a little confused after just experiencing such a long dream.
"Of course, it's going back to Japan. You slept for thirteen days. Tomorrow is the day the Yaksha Demon Blade will be unleashed."
Mai Shiranui said coldly.
"What? I slept for thirteen days?"
Yang Yan was startled. He seemed to have read the book given to him by the Living Buddha Bancan last night, practiced some exercises according to the instructions, and then had a very long dream. In the dream, he saw two people fighting and even watched a live sex show for dozens of days. When he woke up, he had actually slept for thirteen days.
"Congratulations, congratulations! You slept for thirteen days, you must have gained something from it."
The Living Buddha Bancan entered.
"It's nothing, just a dream..."
Yang Yan was about to tell what he saw in his dream when the Living Buddha Bancan interrupted him.
"Heavenly secrets cannot be revealed. I hope you will not tell anyone what you saw and heard in your dream. You two, I have already arranged for a carriage to be prepared for you. It's time for you to set off."
The Living Buddha Bancan said with a smile.
"Thank you very much."
Yang Yan knew that there were some things in his dream that were indeed inconvenient to tell others, so he quickly packed his things. In fact, Yang Yan and Shiranui Mai did not scan their luggage, but only put away the two people given to them by the Living Buddha Bancan before Shiranui Mai pulled them out of the Potala Palace.
The car that Bānchā Rinpoche had prepared for the two looked far superior to the taxi they had taken to the Potala Palace. Although the exterior appeared rather old, the interior was quite comfortable. A complete ventilation system made the air inside much more pleasant than outside, and a stick of high-quality sandalwood incense further enhanced their mood.
"I didn't expect to find such a nice car in Tibet,"
Yang Yan said, leaning comfortably against the leather seat.
"Of course, this is Bānchā Rinpoche's private car,"
the driver, a young lama in his twenties, said with a smile in Mandarin as he drove.
"Bānchā Rinpoche really knows how to enjoy life,"
Yang Yan remarked, clearly surprised. He hadn't expected the seemingly traditional young lama to be so sophisticated.
"Of course, what era are we living in? Of course, the young lama should listen to pop music, drive sports cars, and watch movies,"
the driver said, clearly amused by Yang Yan's expression.
"Indeed, it's the 21st century now,"
Yang Yan chuckled dryly. Because the car was much better than before, they arrived at the airport half an hour earlier.
Kagerou and Mai Shiranui got off the car and went straight to the waiting room. After Mai Shiranui finished the formalities, the two boarded a plane to Japan.
The plane arrived in Japan after nightfall. After disembarking, they were escorted by a group of neatly dressed men and got into a car. More than ten luxury sports cars drove out of the airport, finally returning to Hidden Takano as dawn approached.
"How is the situation?"
Mai Shiranui greeted Fujiwara no Sai, who had been waiting for them.
"There's no other way. Since you can't find the Great Wheel King's Demon-Subduing Mantra, we can only rely on our own strength to protect Japan. Two thousand Japanese martial arts practitioners and three thousand priests from various shrines are all on high alert, determined to fight the Yaksha Demon Blade to the death."
Fujiwara no Sai seemed to already know the outcome of their trip, so he spoke very seriously.
"My thirty Jonin of the Shiranui School will also do their utmost to deal with the Yaksha Demon Blade."
Mai Shiranui called out to Fujiwara no Sai and walked towards a group of black-clad ninjas standing not far away. Kagerou followed Mai Shiranui and discovered a girl in a snow-white ninja outfit standing among a group of black-clad ninjas. In this group of ninjas whose faces were completely covered, the girl stood out, especially since she was incredibly beautiful.
"You pervert, what are you looking at? Look again and I'll gouge your eyes out!"
The girl clearly felt Kagerou's gaze and deliberately made a fierce face, but that expression on a young girl's face gave Kagerou a very strange and stimulating feeling.
"Butterfly, you're being ridiculous,"
Mai Shiranui said sternly to the girl.
"Sister..."
Seeing Mai Shiranui's serious expression, the girl immediately became pitiful, her seemingly innocent eyes filled with tears as she looked at Mai Shiranui. Such a look made it impossible to scold the girl.
"I usually let you be, but this time, you don't understand the seriousness of the matter. Fly to America immediately!"
Mai Shiranui was clearly completely immune to such a gaze.
“Sister, I'm just trying to help you. Although you're the number one ninja in Japan, I'm not weak either, and besides…”
The girl clung to Mai Shiranui.
“Enough! Do you know how powerful our enemy is? If I can't leave here alive this time, you're the only candidate to become the next clan leader. You bear the future hopes of the Shiranui clan.”
Mai Shiranui was unusually angry, almost shouting at the girl.
“Miyake-kun, take Miss to America immediately. If she escapes en route, punish her according to clan rules.” Mai Shiranui
said expressionlessly to a middle-aged ninja in his thirties beside her.
“Yes.”
The ninja's code of conduct only includes obedience, no explanation needed. The middle-aged ninja stood directly behind the girl, his attitude one of threatening her with force if she refused to leave.
“Sister…”
The girl wanted to say something more.
“Don't forget, you're a ninja first, and then my sister.”
Mai Shiranui looked at the girl with unwavering eyes.
"No matter what, you're still my only sister. Please don't get hurt. You must come back alive. I still need your care."
Looking at Mai Shiranui for a long time, the girl bravely wiped away her tears and bowed to her.
"You'll always be my good sister. This is a rosary given to me by the Living Buddha of Tibet. Please keep it."
Mai Shiranui placed a string of rosaries on the girl's wrist.
"Sister, you should keep it. You're more..."
The girl tried to take off the rosary.
"I have another string here. This rosary has been blessed by the Living Buddha. You should wear it. Don't make me worry."
Mai Shiranui revealed the rosary on her wrist.
"No time. Take Miss away."
Mai Shiranui looked up at the sky. Dawn was clearly not far away. Following Mai Shiranui's order, several ninjas protected the girl as she got into the sports car they had come from, and they drove away.
"You two sisters have such a good relationship."
Seeing Mai Shiranui staring intently in the direction the girl's car had disappeared, Yang Yan said with a smile.
"She's my only sister. If you look at her with those lecherous eyes again, I'll kill you,"
Mai Shiranui said coldly to Yang Yan.
"There's something I'm really curious about,"
Yang Yan hesitated before speaking to Mai Shiranui.
"What is it?"
Mai Shiranui shifted her gaze to the blood lotus and asked casually.
"Even a capable ninja like your sister has left. What am I, someone who knows nothing, still doing here? If a fight breaks out, not only will I be useless, but I'll also be a burden to you. Why are you keeping me here and not letting me leave?"
Yang Yan said, almost in tears. He had personally witnessed the terror of the Yasha Demon Blade; it was absolutely ruthless, killing without blinking an eye. So many bald monks were slaughtered like vegetables by it. Just thinking about it made Yang Yan's legs go weak.
"It's simple..."
Mai Shiranui turned her head, fixing her gaze on Yang Yan. During Yang Yan's slumber, her conversation with the Living Buddha Bancan echoed in her ears once more.
"Is Japan truly doomed this time? Living Buddha, with your power, is it really impossible to eliminate the evil spirits and avert this calamity?"
Even though Mai Shiranui knew there was no hope, she continued to press the Living Buddha Bancan.
"Everything in the world is subject to cause and effect. Every cause yields an effect. The cause is planted by man, but the effect is determined by heaven. Until the very last moment, I don't know the outcome. However, regarding this matter, I've thought about it for a long time these past few days, and I've managed to come up with a solution for you."
The Living Buddha Bancan's words immediately invigorated Mai Shiranui.
"The legend of the King's Eye has been circulating on the earth for five thousand years, but its origin is unknown. According to the legend, the owner of the King's Eye possesses power surpassing the Nine Heavens and Ten Earths, above all gods and demons. Although it's just a legend, for the past five thousand years, practitioners of Buddhism, Taoism, and Demonism have believed that the King's Eye possesses power that even the leaders of the three religions cannot contend with. Before the King's Eye, nothing is impossible. Yang Yan is the owner of the King's Eye. As long as you get him involved and don't let him go until the very end, even if the Yaksha Demon Blade destroys everything, a miracle might still happen."
Half-Buddha answered with great certainty.
"Simply put..."
Seeing that Shiranui Mai hadn't spoken for a long time, Yang Yan pressed for an answer.
"This matter is most likely related to you. If you leave, the Yaksha Demon Blade will want to kill you. Where will it find you?"
Shiranui Mai rolled her eyes at Yang Yan and looked at the Blood Lotus again.
"What..."
Yang Yan was stunned.
"I just remembered, I haven't brushed my teeth this morning. I'll go find somewhere to brush them first..."
Yang Yan chuckled a few times and prepared to leave.
"If you dare leave, I'll kill you right now."
How could Mai Shiranui not know that Yang Yan wanted to run away?
"Hehe, sorry, I just remembered that I brushed my teeth... Oh right, my stomach hurts, I need to find somewhere to use the restroom." Yang Yan continued.
"It's okay, just here, I'm not afraid of seeing your caterpillar."
Mai Shiranui didn't hesitate at all.
"What do you mean caterpillar? Are there such huge caterpillars in the world?"
Yang Yan seemed a little angry. You know, Yang Yan was very confident in his weapon right now.
"Yes, I misspoke, that's not a caterpillar, it's more like a toothpick."
Mai Shiranui continued to belittle Yang Yan.
"...Fine, a good man doesn't fight with a woman, but if it's right here, aren't you afraid of the stench?"
Although Yang Yan really wanted Mai Shiranui to test whether his great weapon was really a toothpick, he still held back his anger when he thought of how terrifying Mai Shiranui was.
"It's alright, if it stinks too much, I'll just send it back where it came from."
Mai Shiranui was clearly unconcerned.
"You're ruthless..."
Yang Yan couldn't find any words to say for a moment, so he chose to remain silent.
"Be careful, the demonic energy is fluctuating fiercely. The power of the Blood Lotus can no longer suppress the demonic energy. It seems the Yaksha Demon Blade is about to break free from its seal."
An old man dressed in white robes, with a tall hat on his head, practically emblazoned with "Get Rich Upon Seeing It," shouted loudly.
Everyone scattered around the Blood Lotus became alert.
"Here, it's always better to have a weapon for self-defense."
Mai Shiranui handed her long sword to Yang Yan.
"What about you?"
Yang Yan asked, moved.
"I'll be fine with whatever."
Mai Shiranui drew the legendary divine weapon, the Fire Dance Butterfly Fan, and held it in front of her chest.
A mournful song suddenly rang out from all sides, and the huge Blood Lotus seemed to be blown by a powerful wind, swaying up and down.
Everyone gripped their weapons tightly, watching the Blood Lotus's abnormal reaction.
The mournful, melodious song grew clearer, and the blood lotus slowly stopped swaying. A rich fragrance emanated from the blood lotus, inducing drowsiness in almost everyone who smelled it. Only Yang Yan remained unaffected.
"Careful, this fragrance has a hypnotic effect!"
Fujiwara no Sai was the first to react. Although the old man was lecherous, his swordsmanship was second to none in Japan. Sensing something was wrong, he immediately shouted a warning to everyone. Those who realized what was happening covered their mouths and noses, and quite a few still collapsed to the ground.
"Not bad, so many people were still left."
After the song stopped, Yasha-hime's voice seemed to come from all directions simultaneously.
"Damn demon, let me show you the power of our Shinto!"
An old man dressed very much like the White Impermanence brandished a wooden stick with white paper strips attached, leading a group of White Impermanence toward the blood lotus. Each of these White Impermanence chanted their own incantation, but the rhythm of their stick-wielding was remarkably similar.
"You trash think you can fight me like monks? You're courting death!"
The thousand-layered lotus opened layer by layer. When the last petal opened, a black-clad girl wielding a black demonic sword stood proudly atop the lotus.
"Destroy this demon!"
Amidst the shouts of those dressed in the robes of the Impermanent, rings of runes, like ropes, materialized around Yasha-hime. These floating runes seemed to possess a spirit, tightly binding Yasha-hime, and multiplying.
"You think you can deal with my demonic sword with your petty tricks? You're a thousand years too early."
Yasha-hime sneered, slashing upwards with her demonic sword. The runes floating in the air immediately cracked and vanished into the void. The spell being broken inevitably backfired on the caster. The priests wielding exorcism clubs trembled uncontrollably as if struck by lightning the moment the runes shattered, then collapsed to the ground.
"Everyone, attack! Kill this witch!"
A group of warriors surged forward.
"Haha, this is hilarious! It seems that apart from those monks, Japan is relatively normal. You dare challenge me with your meager strength?"
Looking at the samurai rushing towards her, Yasha-hime laughed wildly, her Yasha Demon Blade unleashing powerful sword energy with each strike. In the blink of an eye, countless deep pits, several meters deep, and flying flesh and blood were displayed on the ruins of Hidden Highland.
"Secret Technique, Heavenly Thunder Roar..."
Just as the Yasha Demon Blade's sword energy surged, the old man Fujiwara-sai roared, a jet-black sword energy slashing down to meet the Yasha Demon Blade's energy. A thunderous roar followed, and the two sword energies vanished after a fierce collision.
"Hmm, someone can actually withstand my strike. Looks like today won't be boring."
Yasha-hime stopped her attacks and stared at the old man.
The old man Fujiwara no Sai, who had always been regarded as the strongest in Japan, appeared in the most unsightly scene of his life. His body was supported by a black wooden sword, his breathing was rapid, and traces of bright red blood kept gushing from his mouth and nose. The slash he had just clashed with had obviously exceeded the limit of Fujiwara no Sai's ability. The power of the demonic sword's aura was far stronger than Fujiwara no Sai's full-force attack. Although he used secret techniques to offset most of the power from the demonic sword, the remaining power still dealt Fujiwara no Sai the most severe blow.
"That last strike used about two-tenths of my power. Now I'll use five-tenths. Haha, if you can withstand that, then prepare to take a strike with ten-tenths of my power. If you can't, you'll all be reduced to ashes and disappear from this world forever,"
said Yasha-hime as she slowly rose into the sky.
"Fujiwara-senpai, what do you think?"
Those who were still standing rushed to Fujiwara-sai's side.
"I can withstand this one, but the next strike..."
Fujiwara-sai smiled bitterly.
"You should run..."
Mai Shiranui pressed her hand to the wound on her shoulder. She had been hit by a gust of sword energy, and her entire arm had almost been severed. Having never expected the power of the Yasha Demon Blade to be so great, Mai Shiranui completely lost confidence and said to Kagerou, the only one in the field who was still uninjured.
