[Rural Areas] The Countryside is So Beautiful (Complete) - 6

Chapter Thirty-Six: Bitterness

"Who told you to be so tempting, sister-in-law? You're so busy, let me help you cook. I wonder what brings you here tonight? You're not planning to introduce Ye Jing to me, are you?" I whispered, continuing to place my hand on her waist, showing no intention of removing it.

"Yes, that's why I called you here, Sister Juxiang. We agreed that Sister Juxiang and I would be the matchmakers. Ye Jing is still here; you can take her home later and talk on the way. She's tutoring Xiaomei right now." Ye Mei pushed the wontons in the pot with a spoon. "I was originally thinking of letting you two meet later, but I thought I'd call you over while Ye Jing is here, to avoid trouble later."

"Sister-in-law is so kind." Seeing that Ye Mei didn't reject my touch, I boldly moved my hand upwards, reaching her chest.

"If you don't take your hand away, I'll get angry!" Her breathing quickened, and even her ears turned red. I could see a hint of excitement in her.

Just as my hand was about to grab Ye Mei's chest, Ye Jing's voice rang out from the doorway of the west wing: "Sister...you..."

Hearing Ye Jing's voice, Ye Mei and I quickly turned around, Ye Mei's face turning deathly pale. The door had been pushed open at some point, and Ye Jing was staring at Ye Mei and me in astonishment.

It was a truly bizarre scene; Ye Jing stood at the doorway, staring blankly at Ye Mei and me, while my hand seemed to freeze. For a moment, the room was completely silent. The three of us looked at each other, unsure of what to say.

My first thought was: "It's over, this is completely over. Wang Hao, you're bound to get your feet wet eventually. You've been fooling around at all times and places, and now look, karma's coming back to bite you. We're just short of catching you in the act!" I imagine my face must have looked terrible, worse than if I were crying.

"I...I was making wontons..." Ye Mei quickly pushed my hand away, her usually eloquent words becoming incoherent. Even a fool would know she was making wontons; wasn't this just a blatant attempt to cover something up? Large beads of sweat appeared on her forehead, which she wiped away.

Ye Jing's next words sent a chill down my spine. "Sister...sister...I saw everything..." Her voice trembled, a testament to her inner turmoil. Her face flushed and paled in turns; there was no doubt she had seen everything I had done. Any explanation would be futile.

"Thank goodness, it wasn't Zhang Ke who saw it. If it had been Zhang Ke, things would have been truly beyond repair." For some reason, I felt a surge of relief.

The dim light shone on Ye Jing, casting a long shadow that stretched from the west wing door into the courtyard, making her look so lonely and helpless. It was eerily quiet; you could hear a pin drop. She stared blankly at Ye Mei and me, her pearly white teeth biting her lip so tightly it sank deep. Her kind eyes were filled with confusion and grievance, and I saw them slowly well up with tears.

I don't know how much time passed, it felt like an eternity, and none of the three spoke.

"Sister... why did this happen..." Ye Jing finally couldn't help but speak. As soon as she finished speaking, two lines of clear tears silently slid down her delicate face.

"Xiao Qing..." Seeing the tears of grievance in Ye Jing's eyes, Ye Mei was overwhelmed with sorrow and couldn't help but choke up, "Sister... I'm so sorry..." Her eyes were also red, and bright tears were swirling in her eyes, almost overflowing.

Watching the two beauties weeping together, I felt terrible too, because all of this was because of me, and I could only watch them from here, unable to do anything. "What should I do? This can't go on like this. Zhang Ke and Sister Juxiang are coming soon, how can we cover this up?" My mind was in turmoil.

"Sister... why did you hide it from me... Mom and Dad passed away early, I treated you like my mother... but sister..." Ye Jing's voice wasn't loud, but every word struck my heart, so bitter it was heartbreaking.

Even I felt the same way, let alone Ye Mei. Her face flushed crimson, looking both ashamed and embarrassed, yet speechless.

Like a dead pig unafraid of boiling water, I decided to go all in. With that thought, I steeled myself, walked up to Ye Jing, and said, "Blame me, it's all my fault. I don't ask for your forgiveness, just don't blame your sister; she wholeheartedly wants what's best for you."

"Who told you to talk nonsense here? Get out of here." I felt a sudden tightness behind my shirt as Ye Mei pulled me aside. She stepped in front of me. "Xiao Qing, I know you're good to me. This time it was my fault, I shouldn't have done this. But I hope to be with Xiao Qing forever, never to be separated." Ye Mei gently pushed me away, walked to Ye Jing, and embraced her.

"Sister… does this mean we're together now…" Ye Jing buried her face in Ye Mei's chest, sobbing softly.

"Do you remember when you were little, that time you had a high fever? You kept calling for your mother, and when you woke up, your mother was gone. You and your sister said you'd be together forever." Ye Mei gently stroked Ye Jing's hair, her heartfelt words deeply moving.

"..." Ye Jing didn't speak, only her shoulders trembled slightly.

"Why are you listening so intently to our conversation? Go outside." Ye Mei gave me a sharp look, the flush on her face fading, her tearful expression captivating.

"I'll go, I'll go," I said hastily, closing the door and going outside. At that moment, all I could think about was hoping Zhang Ke and Sister-in-law Juxiang would come later; if they came now, it would be too late.

Standing in the courtyard, all was quiet. Unidentified insects chirped in the corner, and the mountain wind rustled the leaves. Dim yellow light shone from the window of the west wing. "I wonder what they were saying? They won't let me hear, but I can at least take a look, right?" After pacing back and forth in the courtyard for a while, my curiosity got the better of me, and I couldn't resist peeking through the window.

"What?!" I was shocked by what I saw.

Ye Mei was kneeling before Ye Jing, two lines of tears streaming down her pale face. She was muttering something, her expectant expression filling me with pity. Ye Jing stood there, stunned, her delicate face flushing and paling by turns, looking utterly embarrassed. Was Ye Mei kneeling to beg for Ye Jing's forgiveness?

Seeing this, I couldn't help but recall the first time I met Ye Mei in the west wing, except that time I was the one kneeling before her, shamelessly begging for her company. A surge of tenderness welled up in my heart. "Sister-in-law, you've been so good to me, kneeling before your own sister for my sake. But how could I bear to let you suffer such injustice?" I thought to myself.

I walked to the door of the west wing and gently pushed it open.

“Xiao Qing, you won’t agree? I won’t get up if you don’t agree,” Ye Mei pleaded softly.

“What is she asking Ye Jing for?” I wondered.

“Sister… how can I agree to something like this…” Ye Jing’s face flushed, and she gently shook her head.

“Ye Jing, I’m sorry, please forgive your sister.” I didn’t care what Ye Mei was asking; my only thought was not wanting my woman to suffer any more grievances. Saying this, I quickly walked to Ye Mei’s side and knelt down beside her.

“You…” Ye Jing’s face turned even redder, her face flushed with shame.

“I told you not to come in, why did you come in? Who told you to kneel down too?” Ye Mei said, her face a mixture of shame and anxiety, with a hint of reproach. But I could read overflowing tenderness in her eyes.

“I wonder if Ahao has arrived yet?” It was Ju Xiang’s voice; I recognized her voice immediately.

“He should be here; Xiao Mei went to call him,” Zhang Ke replied.

Just as the three of us were in a chaotic mess in the west wing, Zhang Ke and Sister Juxiang's voices came from outside the courtyard gate. Oh no, my worst fear was about to come true.

"Please don't let Zhang Ke know! If God could let me choose again, I would never have taken liberties with Ye Mei just now!" My eyes were fixed on Ye Jing, filled with pleading.

As if by miracle, Ye Jing gave me a deep look, quickly wiped away her tears, and whispered, "Sister, I promise you." She then helped Ye Mei up.

Seeing this, I quickly stood up as well, letting out a long sigh of relief.

"Sister, go check the pot! You've overcooked the wontons. Brother-in-law is back, and I'm hungry. I want to eat the wontons and go home," Ye Jing said, pointing to the pot.

"Okay, I'll check it for you right away," Ye Mei said hastily. She turned around, opened the pot lid, and pushed the wontons floating on the surface.

"Why are you going back so early? Oh, Ah Hao's here too." Just as Ye Mei turned around, Aunt Juxiang walked in with a smile.

With the arrival of Aunt Juxiang and Zhang Ke, the kitchen suddenly became much livelier.

"Yes, Aunt Juxiang, I just got here too." I nodded, my heart still pounding.

A little while later, the wontons were ready, and everyone sat around the eight-immortal table to eat. Aunt Juxiang and I sat on the same bench, Zhang Ke and Ye Mei sat together, and Ye Jing and Xiao Mei sat together. Three beautiful women in one room gave the room a sense of grandeur, but I had no heart to appreciate it.

"Ah Hao, do you know why I called you here?" Aunt Juxiang turned to look at me.

"Yes." I nodded again, as if nothing had happened. Actually, my heart was filled with bitterness. I felt that my relationship with Ye Jing was over before it even began.

Chapter Thirty-Seven of Tales of Deer Town: Watermelon

"Ah Hao, opportunities don't come every time, so you'd better seize them." Zhang Ke said with a smile from across the table.

Ye Mei sat beside him, silently eating wontons.

"You agree, right, wife? Why aren't you saying anything? It's like I'm the matchmaker." Zhang Ke said to Ye Mei.

"How can you say that? All you ever talk about is opportunities, opportunities." Ye Mei rolled her eyes at Zhang Ke.

"Hehe, if I hadn't seized the opportunity back then, how would I have married such a beautiful wife?" Zhang Ke's smugness was palpable. I wonder what he would think if he knew about my affair with Ye Jing.

"Alright, we matchmakers are just responsible for leading the way. The rest is up to you. Ye Jing, Ah Hao is a pretty good young man, quite honest." Sister Juxiang chatted casually with Ye Jing beside me.

She was wearing a white nightgown today, the pant legs rolled up high, revealing her full thighs, which looked white and tender, making one want to pinch them. It had been a while since I'd been intimate with Sister Juxiang. If I hadn't been still recovering from the shock of what happened earlier, I might have secretly indulged my lustful desires.

"The people Sister Juxiang and my sister introduced can't be too bad, I know that," Ye Jing said, glancing at me. I knew she wasn't being honest, but her face showed no displeasure.

"I'm done eating, sister, I'm going back." A moment later, Ye Jing stood up at the eight-immortal table.

"Ah Hao, why don't you see Ye Jing off? My parents' house isn't far anyway," Ye Mei also stood up. From her eyes, I could see she was very grateful to Ye Jing for covering for her at that crucial moment. I

left Zhang Ke's house with Ye Jing. She pushed her bicycle ahead, and I followed behind. Perhaps it was guilt, or perhaps my mind was in turmoil, but I never had the courage to speak to her, and of course, she was even less likely to acknowledge me.

Leaving Luzhen, walking on the cinder path, the cool mountain breeze on my face instantly cleared my feverish mind.

"I wonder what she's thinking right now. It's fine if she doesn't want to be friends with me, just don't let me ruin her sisterly bond with Ye Mei. I should thank her first." Following behind Ye Jing, my heart was filled with mixed emotions.

Thinking this, I quickened my pace to her side. "Ye Jing, thank you for saving me and your sister earlier."

I finally mustered the courage to utter the words that had been bottled up inside for so long. Saying those words immediately eased my previously depressed mood.

"You…" Ye Jing stopped pushing her bicycle, turned to look at me, and to my surprise, two glistening tear tracks clung to her delicate face. It seemed she had cried again after leaving Ye Mei's house, but I hadn't noticed as I followed her.

"What a sentimental woman! What am I supposed to do? How can I explain this to her? She reacted like this even after she found out about me and Ye Mei, so she definitely can't know about me and Sister Juxiang!" I thought to myself, but I really didn't know what to do.

To my surprise, Ye Jing stopped when we reached a small hill. "Sit down for a while," Ye Jing said, parking her bicycle by the roadside and sitting down on the hill. The hill was covered with tender green grass, and sitting there, I could see the starry night sky.

"Hmm," I replied, somewhat puzzled, but I obediently sat down beside her.

Ye Jing sat on the grass, her legs bent, her arms wrapped around her thighs, the beautiful curves of her fair legs captivating.

"Tell me about you and my sister," Ye Jing said softly, wiping away her tears and gazing at the starry sky, like a girl next door.

"I...it's a long story. I hadn't been in Lu Town for long then." I swallowed hard, wondering how I could possibly bring myself to say such a thing.

"Hmm..." She nodded gently, listening intently.

Ye Jing and I chatted slowly. Strangely enough, this was the first time Ye Jing and I had a proper conversation, yet it felt like we were old friends, with no barriers between us. Before long, I told her everything about Ye Mei and me, embellishing my story and making myself sound great while omitting many things that might damage my image.

"So that's how it is. No wonder my sister was so devoted to you. But I didn't think you were that great." Ye Jing turned her head to scrutinize me, as if trying to read something from my face.

"Of course, that's because you haven't known me for long. You'll know how good I am once you've known me. It's such a pity..." I sighed.

"What's a pity?" she asked.

"We only met once, and it ended. I don't think you'll forgive me and your sister." I said. I was helpless about this. Ye Jing had already given Ye Mei and me face by not exposing us at Zhang Ke's house.

"No matter what, she's still my sister. I don't think she would harm me. She must know your character to want me to be your friend." Ye Jing said, smoothing her long hair that was blowing in the mountain wind. She didn't answer my question directly.

"My sister is a good person. She's always taken care of me. My parents died when I was eight. My sister was eighteen that year, in her final year of high school. To pay off debts, she dropped out of school and married my brother-in-law. With her grades back then, getting into university wouldn't have been a problem." Ye Jing gazed intently at the stars, lost in memories of the past.

I sat silently beside her, watching her, afraid of disturbing her reverie.

"After my sister married into the Jiang family, I lived with my uncle. From then on, my sister supported my education, schooling, and life. I still remember the scene of my sister sending me to school while heavily pregnant. From that time on, I decided that I must repay my sister, and I would agree to do whatever she asked me to do. But I never expected to encounter something like this today." As she spoke, a blush rose on her face, making her appear exceptionally charming under the bright moonlight.

"Could it be... could it be... just now Ye Mei asked her..." My heart suddenly skipped a beat, and a strange feeling rose within me.

"I know what Ye Mei wanted you to agree to." I said, acting as if I knew everything.

"What did you say?" Ye Jing's face turned even redder, and she looked at me nervously.

"Is it that she wants you to be my girlfriend?" I said. But what I was thinking was, if that's what it is, why are you so nervous?

"You're so smart..." Hearing my answer, Ye Jing breathed a sigh of relief. But I always felt that there was a hint of mockery in her words.

"Let's go, let's go. It's almost nine o'clock." Ye Jing stood up.

"We?" Hearing her say "we," I was overjoyed. It seemed she was willing to date me.

The bright moonlight illuminated Ye Jing's slender figure, her sky-blue dress fluttering in the mountain breeze. "So beautiful." I couldn't help but stare at Ye Jing, who looked like a fairy, and sighed sincerely. When you're in a good mood, everything looks beautiful.

"Hey, what are you daydreaming about? I'm leaving." Ye Jing's silvery voice was like heavenly music to me.

"I'm leaving, I'm leaving." I said hurriedly, "Are you tired? How about I ride you?"

"Ride who? What are you talking about?" Ye Jing's face suddenly turned red.

"Huh?" Seeing Ye Jing blush, I suddenly realized that I had said the wrong thing.

"Slip of the tongue, slip of the tongue! I meant I came to ride a bicycle, not you." I scratched my head, hurriedly explaining, "I just can't say things properly, haha..."

"Who cares about you?" True to form, even her scolding tone is similar to Ye Mei's.

***

It was another Saturday evening. Mao Tou, San Shao, Hu Tou, and I were playing a soccer game. Several slices of watermelon were laid out on the coffee table. The sound of mahjong tiles clattering came from downstairs; Zhang Ke and Aunt Meiqin were playing. We were squeezed in. Mao Tou originally wanted to watch Aunt Meiqin play, but after our repeated entreaties, he had to join us.

Liu Qingqing wasn't home; she and Ye Mei were working overtime in the office, doing some accounting.

"Mao Tou, is this watermelon very sweet? Where did you buy it?" Hu Tou asked Mao Tou. He had just been defeated by me, so now it was Mao Tou and my turn to kick him.

"You idiot, wait until I finish playing before you ask me, okay? Look, you messed things up, and Ah Hao almost tied the score. Watch out, or I'll smash you with the controller." Mao Tou was finally leading, having lost almost ten games to me today, and he was itching to beat me.

"Fine, I won't tell you then. Who cares?" Hu Tou ate another slice of watermelon, making me chuckle to myself.

"I know, it's that woman in her mid-twenties who runs the watermelon stall, right? It's not far west of Ju Xiang's house, and it's only been open for two or three days. That woman is quite pretty, and her figure is amazing." San Shao was also eating nearby.

In no time, the watermelon on the plate was completely devoured.

"I know too. No wonder I haven't seen you at Ju Xiang's place these past few days. Turns out you've been going to that woman all the time." Hu Tou wiped the watermelon juice from his mouth.

"Don't talk nonsense. What I'm interested in is..." San Shao glanced at Mao Tou, who was completely focused on playing with me. Third Young Master added, "But this woman is indeed beautiful. She seems to have only been married for a year or two, and doesn't have any children yet. She's a genuine young married woman."

"Hehe, Ah Hao, you finally lost to me this time, didn't you?" Mao Tou said smugly. I had just lost the game to Mao Tou 0-2. "Now let me treat myself to a slice of watermelon." Mao Tou said, turning around.

"What? Are you kidding me? You two ate all the watermelon. This was the last watermelon in my house. If I had known this would happen, I wouldn't have given it to you." Mao Tou was both angry and amused to see the empty plate.

"What are you guys arguing about? It's just a watermelon. I'll buy it. I wonder if the watermelon stand is still open." I handed the handle to Tiger Head, and it was his and Mao Tou's turn to play.

"Of course it's open, it's not even seven o'clock yet. But I should familiarize myself with how to buy watermelons, so I don't go to my future mother-in-law's empty-handed next time. And Ah Hao, you better hurry back, we're waiting for your watermelons." Mao Tou joked, a mischievous grin on his face. More

than half a month has passed since my blind date with Ye Jing. We see each other often, and our relationship is steadily improving; at least she doesn't dislike me as much as I thought. Mao Tou probably found out about Ye Jing and me from Liu Qingqing.

"That wretched guy, no wonder he's a businessman's son. No businessman is without guile, and no businessman is without guile, he's a guy who never lets himself be taken advantage of." I couldn't help but grit my teeth at Mao Tou.

With about ten yuan in my pocket, I went to the old street. Although it was six o'clock in the evening, the street was still quite lively.

"I wonder how Ye Mei and Liu Qingqing's accounts are going. Anyway, I have nothing to do, so I might as well go to the office later and check." Walking on the street, I thought of Ye Mei.

"Want some watermelon? Big, sweet watermelons—closing down soon—" Just as I was lost in thought, a sweet voice called out beside me.

I looked up and found myself at a watermelon stall. A young woman, about twenty-three or twenty-four years old, sat behind the stall, greeting passersby. Just as Mao Tou and the others had said, this woman was indeed beautiful. She wore a white, tight-fitting t-shirt and loose black boxer shorts. Although they were loose boxer shorts, her fair thighs were exposed, and the contrast with the dark shorts was quite alluring. There were about ten watermelons of

varying

sizes displayed in front of the watermelon stall. Looking at the bright green watermelons and the red flesh inside, I subconsciously swallowed. The young woman was busy attending to customers.

"Young man, want to buy a watermelon?" the woman asked as she saw me looking at the watermelons. For some reason, her voice sounded familiar.

"She's only a few years older than me, yet she calls me 'little brother,' as if she's some old man. Not only does her voice sound familiar, but I feel like I've seen her somewhere before." The woman had delicate features, and looking at her pretty face, I muttered to myself, something felt off.

"Hmm, I'll buy a big one. Help me find one." I pointed to the watermelons on the stall. "Okay."

The woman stood up and walked to the watermelons. "How about this one?" She bent down, pointing to a relatively large watermelon, her slender hands as smooth as scallions.

Seeing her bent over, a fleeting thought crossed my mind. By now, I was used to such fantasies, not only without shame but also somewhat enjoying them.

"Okay. How much?" I nodded. "Two yuan." The woman weighed the watermelon and put it in her plastic bag. "Here you go." I took the watermelon and handed her a ten-yuan note. "Thank you, here's your change." The woman reached out and took the money. I could clearly see a black mole on the back of her snow-white elbow.

"It's her, it must be her. No wonder her voice sounded so familiar. What a small world..." Seeing the mole on the woman's elbow, my heart skipped a beat, and I almost took off running. "Hopefully she won't recognize me. I'll have to run." With that thought, I grabbed the watermelon, turned, and walked away without another word.

"Hey... young man, I haven't given you your change yet." The woman's pleasant voice rang out behind me.

"Don't worry about the change, I'm in a hurry. Farmers have it tough too." I waved my hand and quickened my pace without looking back.

"Stop! Why are you walking so fast?" The woman caught up from behind.

Hearing her running after me, my heart pounded even harder, terrified she would recognize me.

"No, even though I'm a farmer, I know I shouldn't accept something for nothing. You have to take the change."

In the blink of an eye, the woman had circled around to the front of me, blocking my way. Now I had no chance to escape. She held out eight yuan in change, her full breasts rising and falling with her rapid breathing.

"Thank you..." Seeing her earnest expression, I had no choice but to take the change. A strange feeling of guilt washed over me, and I desperately hoped the woman would leave.

Unexpectedly, she didn't leave; instead, she stared intently at me.

"Damn it, I have something on my face, and you're staring so intently?" I muttered to myself.

"Don't take the change. I feel something's off..." The woman scrutinized me, as if trying to read my mind. "I feel like I've seen you somewhere before. Were you the one that night?" Her eyes held a hint of doubt.

"No, no... I wasn't peeping that night... I didn't mean to..." Hearing this, I panicked and blurted out the truth. I realized I was incredibly naive; before anyone could even question me, I had already confessed everything. Luckily, no one was around, otherwise I'd be utterly humiliated if word got out that I was peeping. People would think, "How could the assistant to the mayor of Deer Town do something so despicable?

" "You...so you really were peeping that day..." The woman's face flushed crimson, her voice trembling. "You...what did you see..."

"I...I didn't peep, I didn't see anything...I was just passing by..." Anyone who saw my expression knew I wasn't telling the truth.

"Hey...where's the watermelon seller? How much for a watermelon?" Coincidentally, a voice came from the direction of the watermelon stall. A passerby stood in front of the stall, seemingly wanting to buy a watermelon.

"Coming, coming!" the woman quickly replied loudly. "It's best you didn't see anything. Believe me or not, I'll gouge your eyes out." The woman's pretty face hardened, and she said in a low voice. Actually, she looked quite beautiful when she was angry.

"I...I believe you. Thank you for your forgiveness, I'm very grateful." I hurriedly begged for forgiveness, thinking to myself that this woman was pretty, but a bit fierce—a real tigress.

Thinking back on that night, I find it funny. I can't believe that woman let me go so easily today. But then again, she only saw my back that night. If I hadn't confessed today, she wouldn't have been sure I was the one spying. Besides, it's better to avoid trouble. She didn't catch me red-handed then, so there's no way to prove it now. I don't even know the woman's name, and I don't dare ask, afraid she'll hold me accountable.

Lost in thought, I arrived at the town gate and saw the lights still on in the office on the second floor. I knew Ye Mei and Liu Qingqing were still inside. I decided to go up and check on them, wondering how their accounting was going.

I'll take the watermelon back later; I know Tiger Head and his gang won't be disbanding anytime soon.

Passing the gatehouse, Old Sun was still there, reading a book intently. "Ah Hao? Anything else tonight?" Old Sun asked when he saw me. "Yeah, I wanted to see how Ye Mei and the others were doing," I replied.

"Oh." Old Sun nodded and went back to his book.

"Sister-in-law, I want to ask you a question." Just as I entered the office, I overheard Liu Qingqing asking Ye Mei.

"What question requires the word 'ask for a question'? Why so mysterious?" Ye Mei smiled, continuing to look down at her ledger.

"Sister-in-law, do you think a woman will… oh… Ah Hao, what brings you here?" Liu Qingqing suddenly noticed me standing in front of her desk, her face flushing slightly.

"I came to see you. What question did you ask me? Why did you stop halfway through?" I said.

"No… no problem." Liu Qingqing kept her head down, working on her ledger, clearly not telling the truth. I wondered what question she was hiding from me.

"Fine, don't tell me then. When will you be finished?" I asked.

"Soon, why don't you come with us?" Ye Mei smiled sweetly at me, almost stealing my heart.

A little while later, I followed them out of town. "That brat, how dare she keep it from me!" Although I was still chatting and laughing with them, I was still very curious about the question Liu Qingqing had deliberately avoided asking me.

Unexpectedly, my curiosity only lasted a day. By Monday, I knew the question Liu Qingqing wanted to ask, and in a rather unusual way.

It was Monday again, the weather unbearably hot and humid. During lunch break, only Ye Mei and I were in the office, Ye Mei sitting opposite me. Liu Qingqing had just gone out on some business and didn't know when she would return. Zhang Ke was in the downstairs reception room receiving visiting villagers. Two households were arguing over a land dispute and had come to the town head for mediation; it seemed a resolution wouldn't be reached anytime soon. The office was incredibly stuffy, with only the ceiling fan humming overhead.

Ye Mei wore a beige shirt and a black knee-length skirt, a professional woman's outfit that perfectly showcased her mature and beautiful charm. I sat in the chair, reading the newspaper, occasionally stealing glances at her. A patch of snow-white skin peeked out from the round neckline of her shirt, teasing my visual nerves. I don't know why, but I just couldn't control my eyes when I was with Ye Mei. Of course, I wouldn't do this when Zhang Ke was around; even if I were bold, I wouldn't look at her like that in front of her husband.

"It's been almost two weeks since I last did it with her, and I haven't touched a woman in those two weeks. Maybe I can find an opportunity to get intimate with her today?" Looking at the beautiful young woman sitting opposite me, my lust couldn't help but surge, and a smile involuntarily appeared on my lips.

"Ugh, all you do is stare at me like that. Don't you even know where we are?" Just as I was enjoying staring at Ye Mei, she looked up and glared at me resentfully.

"This is Lu Town," I said, feigning ignorance. My eyes, however, remained fixed on Ye Mei's chest, thinking that it had been so long since I had touched those treasures, and I really wanted to touch them right now.

"I think your eyes are about to pop out," Ye Mei pouted, her rosy lips making one want to kiss them. Seeing me staring intently at her chest, Ye Mei blushed and subconsciously tightened the collar of her dress.

"Aren't you afraid of the heat, sister-in-law? Why are you tightening your collar?" I noticed Ye Mei's subtle movement and teased.

"It's clearly your fault, yet you're teasing me," Ye Mei glared at me again.

"It's alright, it's just the two of us now, sister-in-law, it'll be fine. Besides, it's just me looking at you a few times, sister-in-law, you don't need to look at me like that," I said deliberately exaggeratedly.

I wanted to tease her and cheer her up, because I felt Ye Mei had become more distant from me since I started dating Ye Jing. Perhaps it was a lingering effect of Ye Jing catching us flirting last time. Sometimes I even felt she was deliberately avoiding being alone with me. Actually, not only Ye Mei was like this, but I was also affected to some extent. For the past two weeks, I haven't touched a single woman. But these past few days, the desires I had been suppressing have started to stir again.

"You're all talk and no action, nobody cares about you. I didn't go to my parents' house last week, but I went yesterday, and only stayed for a short while. This is the shortest I've been back to my parents' house since I married into Luzhen." Ye Mei looked at me and said somewhat unhappily.

"Why are you back so soon?" I asked, puzzled. I knew that Ye Mei either didn't go back to her parents' house at all, or if she did, she would stay for at least a day.

"Sigh... isn't it all because of you?" Ye Mei sat opposite me and sighed. From her expression, I felt like she both loved and hated me.

Chapter Thirty-Nine of Tales of Deer Town: The Women's Director

"Why because of me?" I asked. Ye Mei's words left me completely bewildered. "Could it be that Ye Jing and my sister-in-law had a falling out? No way, Ye Jing and I were fine when we parted last time, there was nothing wrong with us." My mind raced, but I still couldn't figure out why Ye Mei would come back from her parents' home so quickly because of me.

"How could it not be because of you? Just thinking about it makes me angry." Ye Mei said indignantly, and she got up from her chair and walked to my side.

"Hey... Sister-in-law, be gentle... I'm stupid, I don't understand what you're thinking, please forgive me." Before I knew it, she had grabbed my ear, and I cried out in a pretentious manner.

"Hey, I haven't even used any force yet, and you're already begging for mercy." Ye Mei wouldn't let go of my ear.

“Sister-in-law, let’s talk this out. Don’t be so impulsive. This is town. Even though this is the last office upstairs, it wouldn’t be good if Brother Zhang and Liu Qingqing saw us when they came back.” Seeing that Ye Mei wasn’t going to let go, I simply brought up Zhang Ke and Liu Qingqing.

“You say I’m impulsive? Who was impulsive? Who was so audacious that day? If you hadn’t been so persistent… my sister wouldn’t have found out.” Ye Mei’s face suddenly flushed, making her look exceptionally alluring.

“Is it this one?” Ye Mei was standing next to me. I reached out and pulled her into my lap. Instantly, a warm sensation traveled from my fingertips to my brain.

“Mmm…” Ye Mei murmured softly, falling into my arms, my nose filled with her alluring scent.

“Let go! Can’t you be serious? Are you crazy? This is town. Zhang Ke is downstairs.” Sure enough, Ye Mei’s face turned even redder as she said, both surprised and anxious. She pushed against my chest with all her might, struggling fiercely, but she was no match for my strength. I held her tightly, unable to move.

"I'd give my life for you, sister-in-law," I said seriously, looking down at Ye Mei who was so close to me, our noses almost touching.

"Really?" Ye Mei stopped struggling abruptly, and I noticed her eyes brighten.

"Yes," I nodded solemnly. Although I sometimes acted quite irreverently in front of Ye Mei, what I just said was absolutely from the bottom of my heart.

"Since you're so sincere, I'll tell you why I came back from my parents' house so quickly—it's because of you," Ye Mei said, tapping my forehead with her slender fingers.

"Tell me. I want to hear what happened."

"I used to go back to my parents' house almost every week, and I'd stay for a day. You know that."

"Yeah, I know."

"Ever since Ye Jing caught us together, I've felt like I'm taking something away from my sister when I'm with you." Ye Mei's face was red. "I didn't go last week because I felt too ashamed to face Ye Jing at my parents' house. But this week I couldn't escape it. If I didn't go, my family would have something to say, so I had to bite the bullet and go back. Although we were still laughing and talking as usual when we were together, there was always this indescribable feeling, so I only stayed for a short while before coming back. If you hadn't been caught touching her like that last time, do you think this would have happened? Luckily, Ye Jing didn't blame me at all."

"Oh, I see. No wonder my sister-in-law said it was because of me." I pretended to understand, but I wasn't nearly as clueless as I thought.

"Ah Hao, you're so silly! You don't even understand this much. How are you going to win my sister's heart?" Ye Mei winked at me teasingly.

"I am silly. But I have my sister-in-law, the matchmaker, to help me out." Seeing Ye Mei joking with me, I laughed back.

"Then let me ask you, since I've helped you so much, will you do me a favor?"

"Just say the word, and I'll do anything."

"It's a promise, no backing down."

"A man's word is his bond." I nodded solemnly.

"Hey, such a little guy, and you call yourself a man?" Ye Mei lay in my arms, looking at me with a half-smile. Seeing her expression, my heart skipped a beat.

"Look at you, fidgeting again. Why are you so restless?" Ye Mei said, her face flushed as she looked at me from below. "Fine, I'll let you off this time. But I won't let you off next time." Actually, I was holding her tightly, so she couldn't escape even if she wanted to.

"Heh." I chuckled to myself, seeing Ye Mei's stubborn but soft-hearted demeanor.

"Then let me ask you, how about you take over as the women's director for a while, until you go back to the city? Anyway, you'll only be in the countryside for two years." Ye Mei said something unexpected in my arms.

"No way, sister-in-law, are you kidding me?" I was incredulous. In an instant, I understood what Liu Qingqing meant by the job Ye Mei was going to arrange for me, and I also knew what Ye Mei meant by embarrassing me at Mao Tou's door last time. "This...this...is it really appropriate for a man like me to be the women's director? There are many things about you women that men don't know. Besides, isn't there a single woman in Luzhen who is suitable for this position? This...isn't this a bit too frivolous?" I wiped the sweat from my forehead and said hurriedly.

“We live in a small town, and the women’s director doesn’t have much to do. She usually just distributes contraceptives and such, which is a bit of a hassle, running around all the time. The women in town refuse to come and collect them themselves, but family planning still needs to be enforced, right? These things still need to be distributed, right? I originally wanted to ask Liu Qingqing to do it for me, but she absolutely refused. It’s just that it’s a thankless job. Now I have no choice but to ask you for help; you have more free time. Ah Hao, it’s rare for your sister-in-law to ask for favors, so please agree. Zhang Ke also agreed to let you be the women’s director.” Ye Mei sat up and whispered softly in my ear. I had already released her hands because I was wiping away sweat, but she didn’t rush to stand up and remained seated on my lap.

“Okay, you think of me when there’s no one else to do the work. Actually, I could help distribute contraceptives too, as long as you just say the word. But being the women’s director seems a bit too difficult.” I shook my head.

"Have you seen the movie 'The Women's Director' starring Zhao Benshan? He did a pretty good job as the women's director. I think our Ahao is definitely no worse than him. I have confidence in you." Ye Mei flattered me at the end, it seemed she knew my temperament perfectly now. I'm easily swayed by flattery.

"How can he compare to me? He looks so sleazy. What women's director? It's just distributing contraceptives door-to-door, a piece of cake. I'll do it, I'll do it." I said smugly. Ye Mei's flattery left me completely dizzy, I even forgot my own name.

"It's a promise, no backing out." Ye Mei moved away from me and stood up.

"I promised you, sister-in-law, how are you going to thank me?" My desire was stirring again.

"We'll talk about it later." Ye Mei said hastily, then turned to leave.

"Trying to escape again?" How could I let the woman so close get away?

In a flash, I reached out and grabbed her, pulling her into my lap.

"Ah...no...not now..." Ye Mei cried out, then shook her head vigorously. "Zhang Ke is downstairs, he'll be up soon, and Liu Qingqing will be back soon too. Stop fooling around." In an instant, her face turned as red as a ripe apple; she knew that when my temper flared, I couldn't control myself.

“I don’t care, I want my sister-in-law right now. Brother Zhang won’t be back for a while, I just need to hear if Liu Qingqing is here.” As I spoke, I hugged Ye Mei from behind. “Ah…” Ye Mei let out a soft cry, her nose slightly upturned, and she said somewhat angrily, “I just asked you to help me out by being the women’s director for a while, and this is how you treat me? What

do you take me for?” As she spoke, she looked at the office door as if Liu Qingqing was about to come in, but she did not resist my caresses. “What if Liu Qingqing comes back and sees us? Do you want the whole town of Lu to know about us? You can just leave, but I have to stay here.” I couldn’t see Ye Mei’s expression from behind, but from her rapid breathing and flushed ears, I knew she was also a little excited.

Seeing that Ye Mei hadn't completely rejected me, I simply put my arms around her from under her armpits, pressing my chest tightly against her back, and whispered in her ear, "Sister-in-law, how about we do it like last time, in the office?"

As I spoke, I pulled her clothes up a little, but Ye Mei stopped me.

"Wait, go check if the door is locked." Ye Mei pointed to the slightly ajar door, still not moving.

"I'll go close the door right now." I said, hurrying to close it.

Just as I was about to close the door, I subconsciously glanced at the corridor outside. What I saw startled me. Footsteps came from the stairs at the east end of the corridor, followed by Liu Qingqing appearing in the corridor, seemingly heading towards the office. Startled, I quickly retreated into the office, while Ye Mei was completely naked.

Chapter 40 of The Tales of Deer Town: Liu Qingqing's Passion

It was all thanks to my impulsive glance that Ye Mei and I were able to escape. Seeing Liu Qingqing heading towards the office, I didn't even close the door. I quickly turned around, ran to the desk, and pulled Ye Mei up.

"Why are you in such a hurry...what are you doing?" Ye Mei asked, puzzled. "You...you weren't going to close the door, why are you back in such a rush? Are you impatient again?"

Her face was still flushed, and she sat blankly at the desk, looking somewhat confused. Her short skirt was lifted to her waist; normally, I would have been staring, but I had no time to appreciate the sight before me.

"Sister-in-law, quickly sit down at your seat, Liu Qingqing is back," I said hastily, feeling extremely anxious. Liu Qingqing was walking towards the office in the corridor. If she discovered my affair with Ye Mei and it reached Zhang Ke's ears, what would happen?

"What? Liu Qingqing's back? Why didn't you say so sooner?" Ye Mei snapped out of her daze, her face turning deathly pale. She jumped off her desk and hurriedly ran back to her chair, plopping down and smoothing her skirt.

"Is the sun rising in the west today? Ah Hao, when did you become so diligent? I don't think I've ever seen you wipe the office desk since I started working here. Look at your desk, it's covered in dust." Before I could finish wiping, Liu Qingqing strode in like a gust of wind, a faint fragrance wafting from her. She was wearing a pink short-sleeved shirt and blue denim shorts, looking refreshed.

"Who said I haven't wiped it? You were just too careless to notice before." As I said this, I felt my face flush; I knew it was red without even looking in a mirror. Because, just as Liu Qingqing said, I hadn't wiped my desk since coming to Luzhen. I was so lazy.

"Hehe... I didn't expect our Comrade Ahao to blush, it's quite cute." Liu Qingqing said with a smile.

"You, Liu Qingqing, stop being so mean, always making fun of others. I haven't offended you in any way. If you provoke me again, I'll get Maotou to teach you a lesson, hmph..." I couldn't help but feel a little embarrassed and angry.

As I spoke, I quickly wiped the table clean, turned my head and looked at Ye Mei. She was sitting there reading a book, her face no longer showing any abnormality, but I thought her heart must be pounding just like mine.

"I'm just making fun of you, I like it, what can you do about it?" Liu Qingqing smiled and stuck out her tongue at me, making a face, her fair cheeks so delicate they seemed to break at a touch.

"I don't want to do anything to you either, but be careful Maotou can't stand you and ends up with another woman." Although I was arguing with Liu Qingqing without giving an inch, I secretly thought how lucky I was, I almost got caught.

"Hmph, don't always use Maotou to intimidate me. He's not as slippery as you."

"Hey... if it's not Maotou intimidating you, do you expect me to? I'm afraid if I do, Maotou will come after me." I blurted out this double entendre on a whim.

"You... you're such a scoundrel..." Liu Qingqing's face suddenly turned red. It seemed she understood what I meant. Seeing her blushing, I felt an indescribable joy. I felt relieved. For a long time, I had been arguing with Liu Qingqing and always felt inferior. This time, I had won again.

"Hey, I'm just teasing you. I like it. What can you do about it?" I said in a affected tone, mimicking Liu Qingqing's manner.

"You..." Liu Qingqing was speechless for a moment. "Sister-in-law, why aren't you saying anything? Look at your future brother-in-law bullying people again." Seeing that she couldn't deal with me, Liu Qingqing turned to Ye Mei.

"Hehe, alright, stop chattering away." Ye Mei chuckled, but I noticed something strange about her smile. "You two little devils are always bickering and arguing, it's unbearable. Especially Ah Hao, he's getting more and more outrageous. Why don't you give in to Liu Qingqing? She's a girl, after all." Ye Mei shifted her position, and to my surprise, she gave me a sidelong glance.

"Fine, I concede. Two votes to one, resolution passed." I had no choice but to obediently admit defeat under the combined attack of these two beauties. However, Ye Mei's strange expression caught my attention. "Is she alright?" I wondered to myself, secretly glancing at Ye Mei.

"Who cares about you, you stingy brat." Liu Qingqing said, returning to her seat. There were four desks in the office. I was opposite Ye Mei, and Liu Qingqing was opposite Zhang Ke.

"Alright, you two stop bickering. Just do what you need to do, it's so annoying." Ye Mei said, lowering her head to read again. In the instant she lowered her head, I noticed her brow furrow slightly, looking somewhat distressed.

Just as I was wildly speculating about what Ye Mei would do, she stood up, one hand on her lower abdomen and the other on her waist. "I have a bit of a stomachache, I'm not feeling well, I need to go to the toilet, it might take a while. If Zhang Ke comes up and asks where I went, just tell him," Ye Mei said hurriedly before leaving the office.

I sat in my chair, watching Ye Mei leave, and couldn't help but admire her quick thinking. She even convincingly covered her lower abdomen with her hand, her brow slightly furrowed, as if she really had a stomachache.

Seeing me staring intently at her, Ye Mei glared at me with a mixture of hatred and annoyance. It was as if she were saying, "It's all your fault! Look at you, you almost gave yourself away." For some reason, every time I saw that look in her eyes, I felt a strange flutter in my heart.

As soon as Ye Mei left, I became restless. "Should I follow her? That way we can continue what we were doing." Thinking this, I decided to follow her to the restroom; I was really letting my lust get the better of me. I glanced at Liu Qingqing; she was looking down at her newspaper, seemingly indifferent to what was happening around her.

"Ah Hao, didn't you think your sister-in-law acted a little strange just now?" Just as I was about to stand up, Liu Qingqing suddenly said.

"Could it be that Liu Qingqing has noticed something? That's unlikely, isn't it?" Hearing Liu Qingqing say this, my heart skipped a beat. "She's very clever; one wrong move and she might find out." But ignoring her would probably only arouse her even more suspicion.

"Something's off? Maybe your stomach's upset?" Reluctantly, I could only reply, remaining seated.

"What do you know? Stomach pain doesn't cause that kind of expression. My gut feeling tells me something's wrong, but I can't quite put my finger on it," Liu Qingqing said confidently.

"She's acting the same as usual. You're just prone to making wild guesses," I said dismissively. But in my mind, I was thinking, "Your gut feeling? Do you even know I need a woman to vent my frustrations right now?" But I could only think that to myself, not say it aloud.

"I've known your sister-in-law for over ten years, don't I know her? Don't you trust me at all?" Liu Qingqing turned to me, looking somewhat angry.

"Of course I trust you! We're good friends, and you call me 'brother,' so I have no reason not to trust my sister," I quickly flattered her, trying to be friendly as soon as I noticed her expression changed.

"Don't talk nonsense. I never called you 'brother.' You called me 'sister.'" Liu Qingqing was indignant when she heard me call myself "brother.

" "You called me that yourself, don't you remember? It was in the bathroom upstairs at Maotou's house. You were in a hurry to use the toilet and forced me to come out, but I didn't want to. In the end, you even called me 'Brother Ahao.'" Just thinking about how this spoiled and willful Liu Qingqing had called me "Brother Ahao" gave me a surge of energy.

"That...that was..." Liu Qingqing's face immediately turned red. It seemed she had also remembered the day I took advantage of her. She muttered, "It was because of the situation, plus you

, you bad guy, tricked me..." "Whether I'm a bad guy or a good guy, I've decided you're my sister." I chuckled.

"Who cares about you? Who wants you to be my brother?" Liu Qingqing pouted, her lips red and slightly trembling, looking exceptionally alluring.

"If I can't be your brother, do you expect me to be your lover? It's a pity you're Maotou's fiancée, otherwise..." Seeing Liu Qingqing's charming and lovely appearance, my heart couldn't help but flutter with desire. Staring straight at her, I felt as if all I could see were Liu Qingqing's luscious red lips, and I longed to rush forward, pull her into my arms, and kiss her fiercely.

"Why would I have the thought of kissing her? Are you kidding me?" I was startled by my own sudden thought.

"Silly boy, why are you so quiet? Why are you staring at me? Are you being silly?" Liu Qingqing waved her finger in front of my eyes a few times.

"I... I've just realized how beautiful you are." Looking at Liu Qingqing's jade-like slender hands, I stammered. This was absolutely what I truly felt. Before, saying she was beautiful was just joking around, without any real feeling, unlike this time when I felt a strong desire to possess her.

"..." Hearing my words, Liu Qingqing was stunned, somewhat incredulous. She silently withdrew her finger that had been waving in front of my eyes.

"Really...really beautiful." After saying that, I felt my mouth go dry. This made me realize that I also became so distracted when I was with her, feeling a ticklish sensation in my heart—a kind of intoxicating feeling, a feeling that often occurred when I was with Ye Mei.

"..." Liu Qingqing's face suddenly flushed. She was a little embarrassed by my gaze, but didn't say anything.

Chapter 41: Thoughts

in the Deer Town The office was filled with the creaking of an old ceiling fan. Neither of us spoke, we just looked at each other. I wondered what she was thinking at that moment, perhaps she was thinking the same thing I was thinking.

"It's...it's so hot, I should...I should turn the ceiling fan up a bit." Liu Qingqing spoke first, but stammered, her face turning even redder.

As she spoke, she stood up. Her pink short-sleeved shirt couldn't conceal the exquisite curves of her upper body, her slender waist was so delicate it could be encircled with one hand, and her blue denim shorts accentuated her two snow-white thighs, making them appear incredibly full. Perhaps it was because Liu Qingqing had already received Mao Tou's advances, but at this moment, I felt she was becoming more and more like a mature young woman, and exactly my type. Looking at her pert buttocks, which were stretched taut by the tight denim shorts, I suddenly felt an urge to rush forward, wanting to pull her into my arms and grope her all over.

"I... what am I thinking? I can't do that. She'll be Mao Tou's wife in the future, and I have to be worthy of my sister-in-law and Ye Jing," I thought to myself.

When I realized that something was increasingly wrong with me, I didn't sit down in the chair, but instead stood up abruptly. I decided to leave the office and go for a walk.

"You... what are you doing?" I almost bumped into Liu Qingqing as I stood up. She was startled and stumbled back, landing hard on her bottom in the chair. Luckily, the chair had a backrest, or she would have fallen flat on her backside.

"Liu Qingqing, I'm going for a walk around the old street. Could you keep an eye on things if needed?" Suppressing my impulse, I quickly turned and headed towards the door, feeling like I was pulling back from the brink. To be honest, I was terrified of letting this feeling continue, afraid I'd lose control and do something I shouldn't. It's strange

, really. When I'm with Aunt Juxiang and Aunt Meiqin, I never suppress my feelings like this; I do whatever I want. But this time, I forcefully stopped myself. "I thought you were going to…you were going to do something else. You really startled me. Go to my aunt's and buy some snacks. I'll give you the money later." Liu Qingqing sighed and smiled, making my heart skip a beat again.

"Okay. No need for money." I quickly composed myself and nodded, hurrying out.

Once I left the office and entered the corridor, the restroom was at the end. Passing by the restroom, I thought of Ye Mei again. The desire I'd felt with Ye Mei hadn't subsided, and Liu Qingqing had just added fuel to the fire. How could I possibly endure this? There's a saying, "Victory is found in danger," so I decided to check the women's restroom, wondering if there was any chance.

The men's restroom was ahead of the door, and the women's restroom was to the left against the wall. I tiptoed into the women's restroom. I don't know what's wrong with me; I was so timid with Liu Qingqing, but now I'm so bold because I'm looking for Ye Mei.

The women's restroom wasn't very big, just a sink and three small stalls, each with a toilet. It was similar to the men's restroom, except the men's had two urinals and one less stall. One of the stalls was closed. I only knew Ye Mei was inside, but I had no idea what she was doing.

It's very different from the men's restroom, which is always dirty and smelly. The women's restroom is not only clean and tidy, but also has a pleasant fragrance. I guess the cleaning lady cleans it several times a day and sprays some perfume on it.

Just in case, I went to the door and knocked lightly a few times. If it wasn't Ye Mei inside, I could run away immediately. Thinking about it, I was incredibly bold; what if someone came in and saw me?

"Who is it?" Sure enough, Ye Mei's voice came from inside, sounding quite pleasant at that moment.

"It's me, sister-in-law. Open the door." I stood at the door and whispered.

"You...what are you doing in here? This is the women's restroom! Get out of here

right now!" Ye Mei's voice trembled slightly; I could tell she was surprised. I was only halfway through my sentence when I heard the restroom door being pushed open, and then someone hurried towards the women's restroom. Judging from the light footsteps, it must be Liu Qingqing.

"Sister-in-law, open the door quickly! Someone's really here!" I said hurriedly in a low voice, pushing hard against the tightly closed door, my heart pounding.

But the door remained firmly shut, showing no sign of opening, and Ye Mei inside was silent.

"It's over. It seems my sister-in-law is really determined not to open the door. If I don't hide, Liu Qingqing will find out." I thought to myself, and the air seemed to freeze, filled with immense tension.

The footsteps were almost at the women's restroom door. I wiped the sweat from my brow, almost ready to give up and rush into the stall next door.

To my surprise, just as I was about to turn around, the door clicked open slightly, and I quickly squeezed in. As I closed the door, I heard the person enter the women's restroom and go straight into the next stall, closing the door behind them.

In the stall, I looked around. Ye Mei was sitting on the toilet, the lid closed. Just as I suspected, she wasn't there to relieve herself, but to clean herself. This was exactly the same situation I'd seen her sitting on the toilet at her house last time.

The bathroom was already small, and with two people squeezed in, it felt even more cramped. Perhaps it was a telepathic connection, but Ye Mei also looked up at that moment. Seeing me staring at her, her face flushed instantly, and she quickly lowered her head and turned her face away.

"Is that you, sister-in-law?" Liu Qingqing's voice suddenly came from next door. The person who had almost driven me to desperation was indeed Liu Qingqing.

"Eh...it's...it's Liu Qingqing..." Upon hearing Liu Qingqing's voice, Ye Mei trembled. I clearly felt her body move.

"Sister-in-law, I noticed you seemed a bit off in the office earlier. Are you feeling unwell?" Liu Qingqing asked.

"Um...yes...I am feeling a little unwell...I got my period today." Ye Mei leaned against the wall, her head bowed, and said haltingly.

"No wonder I felt something was off about you, sister-in-law. Sister-in-law, do you remember what I asked you the night before last, just before you were about to leave work?" Liu Qingqing asked.

"You asked that half-answered question?" Ye Mei was clearly suppressing her excitement, as she bit her lip tightly as soon as she finished speaking.

"Yeah, Wang Hao came that day, and I didn't want him to hear, so I stopped talking about it. I've been worried about it lately. I don't know if I should tell him or not," Liu Qingqing said, sounding genuinely troubled.

"Such a quirky girl can be troubled? What could it be?" My curiosity was piqued.

"Well... now that Wang Hao's gone, you can tell me." Ye Mei leaned against the wall, head bowed, letting me do as I pleased. Of course, everything was done silently; Liu Qingqing next door couldn't possibly notice.

"Sister-in-law is so good, even better than my aunt! That's why I've always asked her about everything since I was little."

I couldn't see Liu Qingqing's expression, but I knew from her words that she was happy.

"Does Liu Qingqing really trust Ye Mei that much? She asks her about everything? Are they really that close?" A question crossed my mind.

"Stop flattering your sister-in-law, you're so sweet-talking, like you're dripping with honey. Just tell me what you want to ask," Ye Mei urged.

"Okay. I'll say it then." Liu Qingqing paused, "Actually, what I wanted to ask that day was whether a woman, after having a man, would become interested in other men?"

"Eh..." Ye Mei let out a soft moan. It was unclear whether she was moaning from pleasure or surprised by Liu Qingqing's question.

"You...how could you have such thoughts?"

"Sister-in-law..." Silence fell next door.

"You little devil, don't you know what you're thinking? To be honest, who is that man? You only interact with a few men regularly. Ah Hao goes without saying, he's dating my sister, I don't think that man is his."
