I worked in Xi'an for a period of time more than ten years ago. I liked oil-splashed noodles and roujiamo (Chinese hamburger), and I longed to visit Xi'an International Studies University. However, I was all alone at the time, and being in a foreign land, I had no interest in seeking pleasure. I could only reminisce about the lonely nights by the cold window, feeling melancholy.
