Not only are they attracted to lustful things, but they also crave pleasant smells; their sweat contains hormones—you've been hooked!

Instinct. Look at animals courting; they all emit scents to attract mates. Scent is a way of identifying and attracting the opposite sex that is etched into the DNA of living beings.

A new study from the University of California, Berkeley, shows that a small amount of a chemical in male sweat is enough to increase cortisol levels in heterosexual women. A research team led by neuroscientist Claire Wyart has, for the first time, confirmed that humans, like mice, moths, and butterflies, can secrete odors that affect the physiology of the opposite sex. The findings were published this week in *The Journal of Neuroscience*. This work builds on research by Claire Wyart's colleague, Noam Sobel. Sobel discovered that the steroid chemical androstadienone (4,6-androsadien-3-one) in male sweat can alter women's mood, stimulate libido, various physiological responses, and brain activity. However, at the time, there was no conclusive evidence that the human response to the smell of androstadienone was subconscious or instinctive, as in mammals and insects. Therefore, Wyart's team conducted a more in-depth study on how androstadienone affects female perception. In this study, 48 women inhaled 20 times from a bottle containing androstadienone, and researchers then measured cortisol levels in their saliva samples. Compared to a control group, researchers found that these women experienced better mood, increased libido, and stronger physiological responses such as elevated blood pressure, heart rate, and respiration. Furthermore, their cortisol levels increased after 15 minutes of inhalation and remained elevated for over an hour. This finding may offer new therapeutic avenues for increasing cortisol levels in patients with conditions such as Addison's disease. Perhaps regulating their endocrine balance could be achieved by having patients inhale synthetic or purified human pheromones. However, researchers are currently unsure whether changes in cortisol levels cause mood changes or vice versa. Their next step will be to attempt to explain the relationships between the various effects of androstadienone. Androstadienone, with a scent similar to musk, is widely used in perfumes and cologne. Perfume companies have long claimed that perfumes containing this substance have special effects, but this claim has never been definitively proven scientifically. Wyart explained, "Pheromone is a chemical molecule released by a biological species in response to the opposite sex of the same species, in order to induce certain behaviors or hormonal changes. Many people believe that humans cannot secrete pheromones because humans do not exhibit any specific behaviors. However, this male chemical pheromone, androstadienone, can indeed induce hormonal changes, as well as psychological changes, in women. We need to conduct further cognitive research to understand how androstadienone affects female cognitive function."

In most cases, women are sexually aroused by the smell of men's sweat. You might be the opposite, having a liking for women's body odor. There's nothing wrong with that. One key opens many locks; there will be many female scents that arouse you. Just enjoy them slowly.
