I've been scammed before, almost exactly as you described. They saved a video and threatened me; I screamed in despair, and they actually randomly sent it to several of my superiors and elders. My first reaction was, I couldn't possibly give them any money, because it could very well be a bottomless pit. The known losses so far are my contact list and reputation; I can't afford to lose any more money. So I gritted my teeth and endured it, not sleeping a wink that night. Afterwards, I explained to my friends that my mindset was the same as yours: what's done is done, so I accepted the consequences—it's my own fault. But I absolutely refused to transfer any money; I had to cut my losses.

@BigYellowStick and his ilk are disgusting. I still believe that there's no such thing as a free lunch. If you gain something for no reason, you have to lose something. Learn from your mistakes.

@DongyiDaoke From what I understand, this is basically the same routine. The process is similar, but the results vary depending on the reactions of the victims. However, the scammers' methods are identical, and what's most unfortunate is that they consistently succeed with the same tricks.
