Such a bizarre friend in 69

    page views:1  Publication date:2013-12-24
Yesterday I encountered a really strange friend, and I'd like to share my experience with you all. Let's see if I did or said anything wrong, or if this friend is just really that weird. The day before yesterday, I logged into QQ group 69 and saw a message from a friend in my profile (I won't mention his username or nickname directly, I'll use "qb" instead). He said he wanted to contact us, but because his level was low, he might not see our contact QQ, so he left his QQ number for us to add. I thought since he was a friend in 69, we should chat. If we could become friends, we could chat more; if not, we could chat less. Since he was so proactive, I added him on QQ. Last night at 9 pm, after watching a movie with my family, I saw his message on my phone's QQ and replied. But after only a few exchanges, his message really baffled me. I really don't know if he genuinely wanted to make friends or if he was just looking for trouble. Below, I've recorded our conversation word for word. Please help me see if I said anything wrong or if this friend is just really that weird. Let's use "qp" to represent him and "w" to represent me. At 8:48 PM, qp sent a smiley face. I saw it after finishing the movie and replied with a handshake emoji. Then qp: Hello. W: Hello. A minute passed, and he didn't reply. I wondered if he didn't know what to say. I didn't know what to say either. I looked at his profile; it said he was from Changsha. So, wanting to find a topic, I sent another message. W: Are you from Changsha? qp: Near Changsha. Then I remembered I was familiar with the area around Changsha. I wanted to find a topic to start a relaxed conversation, and I also wanted to know which city he was from so I could tell him my own city and see if we could meet in the future if we hit it off. So W: Oh, where is that? qp: Still in Changsha. But then his message took a turn. qp: Do you mean I should tell you my house number? I quickly replied, W: Haha, you misunderstood. Then, I replied again, W: I just know that area well, so I asked a few more questions. I didn't mean anything else. Just as I was about to explain further, he messaged me again: qp:: Do you want to register for census? This time I got angry and replied with a message: W:: You're being too sensitive! Even if you told people which city you live in, it wouldn't be a problem, right? It's not something shameful, and I wasn't asking about your specific workplace or anything. Then I ignored him. I really don't understand. If you want to communicate with people and make friends, is it wrong to even ask which city you live in? Is this some kind of census check? And his QQ signature says: "Friends who genuinely want to make friends, please communicate with us." What does "genuine" mean? You ask for genuine friendship, but you don't even have the sincerity to tell people where they live, and they're already so averse to it. Where is your sincerity? And if you don't even have the most basic sincerity, why should people treat you with sincerity? Sigh, it seems there are all sorts of strange people in 69. I'm recording this to share with all my 69 friends.
