69. The second article, about the Department of Foreign Languages

When I think of the beautiful girls in the foreign language department, I always think of their eyes, seemingly able to see right through you, clear and transparent. By
the end of the first year, we were quite familiar, though it was mostly just eating together and chatting. Sometimes I wasn't sure what the relationship was between my friend and her, and I didn't want to delve any deeper. Relatively speaking, I preferred to look at her back, her buttocks. Sometimes I'd see her studying in the large classroom, so I'd sit next to her. She'd always smile, tidy up her books to make room, looking like she wanted to say something but hesitated.
I'd say, "Hey, where's so-and-so?"
She'd frown, "Mind your own business!"
Sometimes, she'd mischievously turn her head, lean over to look at the book I was reading, and say she didn't understand it.
Sometimes I liked sitting next to her because of this; her soft breasts, almost imperceptibly pressed against my arm, made me incredibly nervous.
Then I'd say, "This is i++, it's self-pleasure.
" "Really?"
She'd suddenly exhale softly, her voice gentle and sweet, her eyes meeting mine, a mixture of allure and shyness.
I believe that many men enjoy that tense, ambiguous atmosphere.
Due to some moral constraint, I always find it hard to avoid that gaze.
She later told me that she couldn't stand those ambiguous moments with me in the classroom; after the initial thrill, she would sometimes feel frustrated, thinking I disliked her. She said, "What's wrong with me!"
People are really strange; it seems that because of one missed opportunity, they continue walking parallel paths of attraction that can never intersect, only able to hope for a spark ignited by a short circuit.
