Chapter Ten: A Gift of Coming of Age

When we emerged from the cave, we were almost startled.

It was to make them happy.

Hengwu Yukifumi left only a dozen or so trusted men to secretly transport the large black bear

down the mountain, intending to keep it as a prized possession of the Hattori family.

Qianying asked him why, knowing there was such great danger, he made such a fuss, insisting that each generation of the family

capture it barehanded. Wouldn't it have been better to kill the bear with a pistol or heavy weapon?

Hengwu Yukifumi replied that subduing everyone with their own strength had always been a Hattori family tradition.
