[Fantasy] The Slave's Chronicle of Eden (Complete) - 8

    page views:1  Publication date:2023-08-07
Chapter 9:

Meticulous Planning, Orderly Action. If I run into trouble again after sneaking out of the city, it can only be attributed to fate. I upgraded the Return Stone in my own space, took one with me, and enhanced it with a bee, transforming into the form of Steel. I arrived at the square to meet up with Hulun.

At the city gate, several high-level players checked everyone leaving the city. However, they were somewhat hesitant, not daring to offend the large number of mid-to-low-level players too much. They only asked me to remove my mask and helmet so they could recognize me.

At this point, I dared not wear my obviously newbie outfit anymore, so I had Hulun buy me a cloak from the item shop and put it on. Anyway, there are many players who want to conceal their identities, so it won't arouse suspicion. When they checked me, I took off the cloak and showed my face.

Steel had been in the Demon Realm for a while and knew quite a few people. They recognized "me" at a glance. Without making things difficult, they let me pass.

Leaving the main city, we sped along, accepting quests from several NPCs in the wilderness along the way. After navigating several more maps and confirming no one was following, I quickly ran towards the rendezvous point.

Entering a forest, my stamina was waning, so I deactivated my buffs and followed the other three. Hulun, Fang, and Bingpo led the way, while I followed, sharing their monster-hunting experiences and collecting all the medicinal herbs I saw.

The herbs in the Three Realms were indeed more abundant than in the starting village; in no time, I had already brewed a new potion:

a basic Qi-restoring pill, restoring 10 points of special ability value. While the restoration effect was somewhat weak, the abundance of herbs and the large quantity I could brew made made up for it. The three of us kept four or five, and gave the rest to Bingpo. A smile appeared on my face as I happily acquired this icy mage.

"You're here?"

A metallic voice immediately came from ahead as we entered a clearing in the forest.

"Yes. Everything went smoothly."

Hulun nodded.

"Where to now?"

After everyone reunited, Fang turned to Hulun and asked.

"Baiyu, what's your plan?"

Although Hulun was chosen as the temporary team leader, it still didn't forget to ask for my opinion, the protagonist.

"I have two quests. I need the blood essence of the Spider Queen Rose, the essence of the Lava Demon, and the corpse of the Demon Messenger. Are there any maps nearby without these monsters?"

My two contracted pets were determined to get the blood, so they asked without hesitation.

Actually, I hadn't originally planned to collect the blood myself. I wanted to get some potions first, and then use the potions to offer a bounty for the blood essence. Who knew that 10 potions would cause such a huge sensation? This dramatic turn of events actually gave me my own team. So, now I might as well just go and kill them myself.

"The Spider Queen is in the Dark Elf dungeon. There is a level 50 Dark Elf dungeon nearby. The other two monsters are a bit far away,"

Steel said after thinking for a moment.

"No, the level 50 dungeon is too dangerous. I've been to that dungeon before. In the middle of the quest, it triggers a Dark Elf frenzy. We might not be able to protect them all then,"

Hulun said, shaking its head.

"The level 30 dungeon is fine, but it's a bit far from here,"

Steel frowned.

"I know a dungeon nearby where a Demon Messenger spawns,"

Ice Soul suddenly spoke up. Everyone immediately looked at him.

"But that dungeon is only level 50,"

Ice Soul said slowly, seeing everyone looking at him.

"Level 50? That's different,"

Fang said, looking at Ice Soul with a "what nonsense are you talking about" expression.

"The Demon Messenger there isn't a boss. It's a level 30 elite monster, and there aren't many mobs. We can give it a try,"

Ice Soul explained.

"Explain in more detail,"

Hulun pondered.

"Well, the third quest in that dungeon is to explore a lost outpost. The outpost is occupied by a Demon Messenger, and there aren't many monsters inside,"

Ice Soul explained simply.

"In that case, it's still possible. As long as we kill the Demon Messenger, we can get out, it should be fine,"

Hulun nodded, then looked at us again. Everyone nodded in agreement. As for me, as long as I could get the quest items, I was fine with it.

"Let's go!"

Seeing everyone agree, I immediately announced.

The dungeon that Bingpo mentioned was a map themed around a demon invasion. Countless demons broke through the spatial barrier and entered the human world. Humanity suffered repeated defeats and eventually retreated to a royal city, relying on a barrier set up by the gods in ancient times to resist the demon invasion.

Players only have one faction option after entering the dungeon: humans. Some dungeons have two or more faction options. For example, in the "Lord of the Rings" map, players can choose between humans or orcs to attack the opposing faction.

In the "Frozen Throne" dungeon, players can choose between the Alliance and the Horde to complete the quest to kill the Lich King. Some large dungeons even have as many as five or six factions.

The quests received will be completely different depending on the faction chosen. For example, in the "Hero and the Demon King" dungeon,

the hero's questline is to defeat the Demon King and rescue the princess; while the Demon King's questline is to kill the hero and rule the world. Regardless of which faction is chosen, the strength of the enemy is basically the same. What's even funnier is that the highest reward is exactly the same.

If you choose the human faction to defeat the Demon King, the story goes like this: The princess, dissatisfied with the king's tyranny, summons an ancient demon, only to become the Demon King herself. If you're lucky enough to capture the Demon King, you'll find that the humanoid Demon King is actually the princess.

But if you choose the Demon King faction, after defeating the hero and removing her helmet, you'll discover

, "Holy crap, she's the princess!" Apparently, the princess realized she'd caused trouble and bravely took up her sword, embarking on the path to conquer the Demon King. In short, everyone is completely fooled by a stupid princess. I think the dungeon should be called "The Deceptive Princess" instead. Enough

of that, let's talk about my current dungeon. After entering the dungeon, I first ran to the recruitment office to enlist. The recruitment office required us to kill 20 skeleton soldiers to prove our strength.

Level 20 skeleton soldiers are a piece of cake for them; they were dealt with in no time. Then came the really annoying part: we enlisted but were assigned to patrol. Patrolling itself wasn't a problem, but completing this task required finding a squad of skeleton knights during the patrol, killing them, and then reporting back to the city that the enemy situation outside the city had changed and they might be about to attack.

The length of this process depended entirely on luck; some lucky players would encounter a squad of skeleton knights as soon as they left the city. Others might wait ten days or even half a month without finding any. Some high-level players, unable to wait any longer, would directly storm the monster camp, kill a squad of skeleton knights, and return with the news.

In reality, that would be considered false reporting, but the authorities didn't care; they only cared whether you had killed any skeleton knights.

Hulun and the others had initially planned to do the same, but they immediately abandoned the idea. This was because I had discovered two medicinal herbs outside the castle. These two herbs could be used to concoct a "Basic Power Potion," increasing attack damage by 10%, attack speed by 10%, and critical hit rate by 2% for 10 seconds.

This was undoubtedly a major gain, and all four of them were so happy that they wanted to stay there forever. This potion is an absolute godsend for damage-dealing players; even tanks like Steel and Fang are willing to maximize their attack power. They were overjoyed to have found such a treasure.

For two whole days, they didn't start looking for quest monsters until I had dug up all the medicinal herbs outside the castle. I grabbed over 100 bottles of attack potions, took most of them, and a few recovery pills, and delivered them to the other teams after

leaving the dungeon. By the time he returned, a team of skeleton knights had also completed their quest. My level had reached 16 by then; leveling in a team was indeed very efficient. I kept all the allocated points, since I didn't need to do anything here except make potions.

After reporting the quest to the city, they were immediately shocked and said they had lost contact with an outpost ahead and needed us to check it out.

The real show was about to begin. After accepting the quest, we immediately rushed to the outpost.

The outpost was built on a small hill, a six- or seven-story building surrounded by barricades. To ensure my safety, I had Fang guard me, clearing all the monsters outside the outpost before cautiously entering.

This dungeon quest has ten stages. The third stage was quite simple, and with our cautious approach, we encountered no danger.

Upon reaching the top of the outpost, we immediately found the mini-boss, an elite-level Demon Messenger. It was an armored monster with six arms and four legs. A

level 30 elite monster, its strength was at most that of a level 40 monster, just with more skills. However, no matter how powerful it was, it couldn't defeat a team of level 50 players.

Steel and his pet lured the monster away first. Fang, along with Hulun and Ice Soul, cleared out the Demon Messenger's minions.

Then, they turned back to cooperate with Steel to take down the Demon Messenger. The battle was easy and without any suspense.

After the monster died, it dropped a metal box. Opening it, we found, to our surprise, another Demon Messenger lying inside!

Upon closer inspection, it turned out to be the item I needed for my quest. It was truly remarkable that it managed to fit such a large body into the box.

Having obtained the Demon Messenger's corpse, we didn't want to linger in this dungeon. After completing the quest and receiving some experience and gold, I left the instance.

The reward distribution for the instance quests in Eden was quite reasonable. In the early stages, you could only get some experience and gold; to obtain equipment and pets, you had to reach the final stage, at least the second or third round. Otherwise, everyone would be grinding the early quests, and the instance would be meaningless.

After leaving the instance, we discussed it and decided to head to the "Doomsday Judgment" map next.

This map was quite far from our current location, but distance had its advantages—far from us and even further from the main city. The high-level players didn't know I had left the main city and were still searching there. The farther away I was, the safer I was. Besides, the guys had already tasted the benefits of having me with them; it was like having a potion vault. Herbs were everywhere, allowing me to gather them and brew potions wherever I went. So, distance didn't matter to them.

"Doomsday Judgment" was a multi-faction map, somewhat similar to the background of the old "Heroes of Might and Magic" game. The various factions—Sanctuary, Undead, Hell, Orcs, Swamp, Elves, Mages, and the Underworld—fought their own battles for territory. However, in a major war, the lords of the Sanctuary, Demons, Mages, and Underworld factions simultaneously unleashed level-eight forbidden spells. The resulting clash tore the earth apart, unleashed celestial fire, and plunged the world into a sea of flames. A great prophecy descended from the heavens, telling all beings that the gods were disillusioned with the world and had unleashed a cataclysmic disaster to destroy it. Thus, the "Doomsday Judgment" dungeon came into being.

Players can choose any faction and, through various questlines, try to prevent the world's destruction.

The highest reward is the dungeon's biggest boss—the Doomsday Calamity. Its equipment form is a divine sword called "Doomsday Judgment." The dungeon is a level 120 dungeon, and so far only a handful of players have cleared it, all of them topping the legendary leaderboards. The First Knight, Hussein, once obtained this divine sword.

For us few, clearing it is simply a pipe dream. However, like previous dungeons, this one has many quest lines and a long duration. Completing a few early quests isn't difficult, and the dungeon won't truly enter its destruction countdown unless you trigger the final few stages. Moreover, we're not aiming for the main quest, but rather a side quest—the Fire Elf Rebellion.

While called a rebellion, it's actually against the big boss, Doomsday Catastrophe. The Fire Elf, Yefrit, was originally a general under Doomsday Catastrophe. After following his boss to the continent, he became infatuated with the Elf Queen. Knowing his boss planned to destroy the world and lose his "flower," he immediately rebelled and started his own business. He established his own power base—Hellfire Volcano—between the elven and mage territories, intending to kidnap the Elf Queen to be his wife. This side quest involves helping the elves resolve their current crisis and drive out the Fire Elf.

Yefrit, as a general under Doomsday Catastrophe and a level 100 mid-tier boss, is, of course, impossible to kill. The main focus is on completing the first few quests to reach the Hellfire Volcano in Yeflit, where Lava Demons roam. At level 40, it's not too dangerous.

Once inside the dungeon, we naturally chose the Elven faction, but unlocking this side quest is rather troublesome. First, you need to rescue a group of Elven messengers being chased by Ash Demons near the Elven area and Hellfire Volcano, obtaining a letter from them. The rescue requires skill; you need to wait until the messenger is nearly killed by the monsters before rescuing them, allowing them to leave a few last words before handing you the letter. Too early, and they'll continue delivering; too late, and they'll be dead with nothing to collect – how can you expect to get any satisfaction? Forum reputation guaranteed! After two days of wandering the map and losing three teams of messengers, we finally received the letter from a dying messenger. Then we rushed to the elven capital. We didn't waste any time, killing monsters, leveling up, and gathering herbs to brew potions. My level reached 20, and I had dozens more health potions and fire resistance potions. This greatly improved our chances of success on our journey to Hellfire.

We arrived in the elven territory, a massive tree city. We quickly found the intelligence officer, handed over the letter, and successfully started the next phase of the "Stirring Fire Demons" quest. We officially headed to Hellfire.

However, this trip didn't allow us to find the Lava Demons; we only searched the outer perimeter of Hellfire. After exploring several Fire Demon spawn points, we returned to the elven territory with the intelligence. They then asked us to go to the mage territory to

deliver another letter. After returning, the intelligence officer finally revealed their plan. The elves and mages had formed a temporary alliance and developed a secret potion capable of destroying the Yeflit Crystal. However, this secret potion was missing one crucial ingredient: a drop of lava essence, which needed to be obtained from the lava pool deep within the Hellfire Volcano. After running around for four or five days, we finally received the quest we needed, and the map of Hellfire Volcano was officially opened to us.

Along with the quest, we were given a half-finished potion. They said that after obtaining the essence, we should give it to the archmage in the mage city, and then send the successfully concocted potion back to the elven city.

Seriously, they're doing both the errand and the treasure hunt! Aren't they afraid we'll die and the potion will fall into the hands of monsters, revealing their plans?

Forget it, I can't understand the thought process of dungeon monsters. With the items in hand, we set off. We

'd already been to Hellfire Volcano once and were familiar with all the entrances. Avoiding the spawn point of the Ash Demons, we chose an entrance with higher-level monsters and fewer of them to enter the volcano.

The volcano's terrain was naturally extremely hot; ordinary players would slowly lose stamina here. However, with me here as a mobile medicine storehouse, there's no need to worry. Just drink the fire resistance potion like a beverage, and the negative effect called "heat" won't have any effect on us.

Following our previous plan, we slowly advanced into the volcano, heading towards a spawn point for lava demons.

As for the quest, who cares?

The most troublesome thing in Hellfire Volcano isn't the endless ash demons, nor the lava elementals dripping with fire. It's an elemental firebird, half-human-sized firebirds that randomly fly out of the lava, rush towards the players, and self-destruct. The damage they inflict is terrifying; encountering three firebirds at once can easily wipe out the entire party.

Steel, shielded by his giant shield and accompanied by his iron-clad giant pet, cautiously advanced ahead. Ice Soul occasionally threw ice bullets into the lava to alert the firebirds hiding inside.

Following the lava river, we found a huge cave entrance at the end. Inside was our final destination for this quest—the Northern Spring. The Fire Elves drew lava from the earth's core, splitting the lava flow into three streams flowing in four directions, creating their Hellfire Volcano; this was one of the branching points.

Upon entering the cave, a waterfall of lava cascaded down from the sky, forming a pool of fiery lava on the ground. Sparks flew and lava danced in the air, creating a magnificent spectacle. Yet, this beautiful scene represented death and destruction.

We were on a small island surrounded by lava. Apart from the narrow path that allowed only one person to pass through, we were surrounded by a sea of deathly flames. The island was only about 300 square meters, with very little room to maneuver. It would be difficult to spread out our forces in the upcoming battle, so Hulun had to be extremely cautious and carefully plan our tactics.

"Ice Soul! Lure it out!"

Everyone took their positions, and Hulun immediately set up a trap-like snare in front of the steel structure, shouting loudly.

An ice ball shot from the calm mage's hand and smashed into the lava pool. The football-sized ice bullet splashed water in the pool before being instantly vaporized by the scorching lava. But that was enough.

"Roar!"

With a furious roar, a giant hand made of black rock emerged from the pool and slammed onto the shore. This slam immediately triggered a hastily laid trap, which exploded with a deafening boom, blasting the giant hand back into the pool. Simultaneously, a massive head emerged from the hand.

The monster was revealed, and lava churned, submerging the path we had taken.

This was a magma demon, an unformed magma troll, entirely composed of obsidian. Being a half-formed magma troll, it only possessed one hand, one head, and a small portion of its body, and could only move within the lava. But don't underestimate this crippled monster; it's a powerful level 40 elite monster, while a fully formed magma troll is an level 80 mini-boss. This nascent monster inherited two of the magma troll's most powerful attacks: magma spew and suffocating flames, and could also drive elemental firebirds from the lava pool. The former would spew forth a deluge of magma, attacking the players.

The latter burns the surrounding air, creating a 10-second oxygen-free environment where players lose 100 health points per second and take 50 fire damage.

The demon's attack failed miserably, and it immediately unleashed one of its ultimate attacks—magma spew. A mouthful of flame exploded in mid-air, spraying lava all around us.

The steel pet bravely stood up, shielding its master from the damage. Hulun also summoned a squirrel-like white pet, its red gem on its forehead glowing, forming a protective shield around the master and pet. Ice Soul was enveloped in a frost aura, its wand raised high, creating an ice shield above its head to block the falling lava.

Fang swiftly summoned a gargoyle pet, which spread its massive black wings to protect me, enduring the scorching heat of two magma attacks. Fang was quite pathetic, actually. Despite its thick skin and high health, coupled with its life-sucking ability making it more durable than steel, it was helpless on this elemental map. Fire and lava were lifeless elemental monsters, offering no creatures for it to suck blood from, forcing it to become my babysitter, responsible for my safety.

After the lava eruption, Steel immediately swung its giant shield, delivering a shield bash to the monster's arm, sending it flying from the shore. Ice Soul waved its wand, scattering icicles around it, shooting towards the monster's head. Meanwhile, Hulun quickly rushed to Steel's side, setting up traps on the ground.

"Awooo!"

The monster, knocked back by Steel's shield bash, swam back with a strange cry, recklessly slamming its large hand against the shore.

"Clang!"

The trap was triggered again, a massive surge of electricity erupting, greenish-blue electric snakes crackling across the monster's body, causing it to tremble violently.

The steel greatsword clanged as it slashed at the monster, while its pet arched its back, gathering its strength. The steel giant slammed its foot down, ramming into the monster and sending it flying.

At that moment, the sly Hulun ran up again and laid another trap on the ground. Ice Soul stopped its ice spike attack, gripping its wand and beginning to chant. A spot of light formed above the monster's head, spinning rapidly, slowly growing from an ice crystal into a gigantic ice spike.

The monster, swimming back, stretched its massive hand onto the shore again. *Poof!* This time, the trap was no longer destructive; seven or eight vines instantly burst forth, binding its body tightly. By then, Ice Soul's magic was complete. With a chilling aura, the gigantic ice spike descended from the sky, slamming into the monster's head. The ice spike exploded, instantly covering the monster, whose body was covered in lava, with a layer of frost.

"Roar!"

The enraged monster roared, and seven or eight firebirds flew out of the lava pool, swooping down on us.

Hulun, who was prepared, waved his hand and unleashed a giant net, sending three firebirds back into the pool. Ice Soul immediately fired three ice bullets, detonating two firebirds in mid-air. Of the remaining three firebirds, two crashed into Iron and his pet, while the third flew towards me.

"Boom!"

Fang charged forward again, blocking the firebird, its body instantly charred black by the explosion. Iron and Fang immediately and without hesitation downed two healing potions to restore their health.

Normally, they would never use healing potions in this situation, at least not until their health was below half. But now, they had no such concerns; I had plenty of potions, and my safety was the priority. It was somewhat like when I used to play World of Warcraft.

Taking advantage of the few seconds the monster was entangled by vines and frozen by frost, the three of them launched another fierce attack on the monster. The trap was set again.

Restrict, attack, restrict, attack. After a series of attacks, the monster finally began to weaken. The most troublesome "Flame Asphyxiation" had never been released. The stone on the monster's body began to fall off, and the blood-like lava flow withered and dimmed.

Suddenly, a red light flickered in the monster's head, pulsating and beating like a heart.

"Oh no! It's going to self-destruct!"

Hulun cried out in alarm.

"Self-destruction" is the most despicable skill of these fire-type monsters, randomly triggered upon death. We had encountered a few before, but their power was not great. However, the self-destruction of this near-elite-level monster was powerful enough to alert us.

Sure enough, the monster's body suddenly contracted, and then exploded with a bang. The huge explosion brought up a sky full of lava and a strong shockwave, spraying towards us.

The steel at the front was the first to be hit, blown away by the powerful blast. The fangs blocking my way were also struck by a ball of lava and fell to the side. Caught off guard, I wasn't hit by the lava, but the immense force of the shockwave sent me flying.

"Thud!"

My body slammed against the rock wall, the impact sending excruciating pain through me. I was pressed against the wall like a pancake.

But an even greater crisis lay ahead. After the impact, my body slid down the rock wall. Below me was a churning torrent of lava. If I fell in, I'd probably be gone without a trace.

With lightning speed, I drew my castration knife and plunged it into the rock wall, finally stopping my fall and hanging on the wall. This long-forgotten castration knife was finally usable again at level 15.

Looking around, I was immediately terrified. The entire cave was collapsing due to the blast.

Large chunks of rock broke off from the ceiling and fell into the lava, while the lava below gushed upwards like a spring. The small island had vanished. The spring that had been gushing lava from the ceiling had been blasted open, its flow increasing dramatically. Cracks were constantly appearing on the rock wall, and thin columns of lava were shooting out from the fissures, like a dam about to burst.

The lava level rose steadily, threatening to engulf me again. I couldn't care less about searching for Hulun; I drew my sword and swiftly shoved it into the rock wall, climbing upwards.

The lava relentlessly pursued me, the scorching heat emanating from below. Rocks fell into the lava, sending sparks flying and splashing onto me; the collapse was accelerating. I could only grit my teeth and climb as fast as I could. I

was almost at the top, but there was no exit. Using the Return Stone had a 2-second waiting time, interrupted by any damage, and there wasn't enough time to use it now.

The entire cave was bound to be swallowed by the lava; if I couldn't find an exit, I would be doomed. Quickly scanning the cave, I finally found a small, ventilation-like opening in the opposite cave ceiling.

"Bee! Bless!"

I downed a fire resistance potion, quickly buffed myself with Bee, and my limbs transformed into suction cups, clinging to the wall as I crawled towards the opening.

The narrow opening was only the size of a head; it would be impossible for an ordinary person to squeeze through. But this was no challenge for me, empowered by the bee. My body transformed into a long snake, and I swiftly darted into the opening, swimming forward.

The passage was pitch black, and deadly lava was chasing me from behind, but I couldn't care less. I swam forward, meandering through the passage

. After what seemed like an eternity, I finally saw a red light ahead. I emerged from the opening, quickly drew my weapon, and cautiously scanned my surroundings to make sure there were no monsters. Then, I leaped forward.

As soon as I jumped, lava erupted from the opening, but perhaps due to my higher elevation, the lava stopped after a short distance and gradually solidified.

Finally free, I carefully assessed my situation. I was in a very spacious secret chamber, nearly a thousand square meters in size, paved with black marble on all sides. It was completely empty, and I had no idea what it was for. However, there were several flame-patterned doors on all four sides, leading to different directions.

Being alone in this hellish volcano was far too dangerous. I immediately thought of contacting Hulun and the others, partly out of concern for their safety. But neither whispers nor letters received a response, which terrified me. Had all four perished?

Impossible! I tried contacting the other teams, but the same thing happened. This outcome was incredibly frustrating. It seemed I was the one who had lost contact with the others.

I tried the Return Stone; what was once as fragile as an egg had become as hard as iron, unbreakable. It seemed even the Return Stone was forbidden.

Looking at my current predicament, a strong sense of déjà vu arose within me. It was like something out of a third-rate novel, where the protagonist is inevitably separated from their teammates for a period, undergoes numerous trials, receives help from a goddess of the lake, celestial maidens, and widows, survives various crises without serious harm, and then gains immense power, along with a harem. From then on, they live a happy life that their comrades envy and resent.

What a fucking rip-off! I overturned a series of coffee tables.

Since things have come to this, I don't have much to think about anymore. I might not encounter goddesses, fairies, or married women; this wretched place is nothing but fire and lava, and any women I do meet are fire succubi. However, at least I brought the necessary elements for a serendipitous adventure.

"Sunny, Lin, come out! Bee, transform into human form!"

I summoned my two battle pets and one mascot in one go, ready to embark on this magical adventure.

"Ah! Finally remembered us? Are your buddies no longer enough for you?"

"Probably just temporary gay fatigue."

"It's alright, dear master, whatever strange requests you have, your servant will fulfill them."

"..."

I knew summoning you wouldn't bring anything good. A series of merciless complaints right after you appeared? All the integrity my husband and I have built up over these past few days, you've ruined it all! Bastards!

"Silence means admission!"

"Admit it! You perverted demon king!"

"Your servant will never look down on your master!"

*Slap slap slap!*

Finally, unable to bear it any longer, I rewarded each of the three women with a Heavenly Punishment, and they finally quieted down.

"Hmm~! Master, where is this place?"

Bee looked around and asked, slumped in my arms. Unlike Qingtian and Lin, who moaned softly, Bee treated my Heavenly Punishment as some kind of heavy-handed "caress." After one strike, her eyes were glazed, her whole body went limp, her beautiful legs trembled slightly as they were tightly clamped together, and glistening fluid flowed from her private parts. She was already incredibly weak, and her lewdness was beyond words.

Damn it, you should stop this masochistic tendencies! I couldn't help but roar in my heart.

"A map in the dungeon, the Hell Volcano where the level 100 fire elf Yeflit is located. I got separated from Hulun and the others. Looks like I'll have to find my own way out."

I said, holding the limp Bee.

"What! Even with someone with you, you still got separated! Has Master become so hopelessly bad at directions?"

Qingtian said in shock.

"Damn it! Your shock is misplaced!"

I quickly added insult to injury.

"I knew it! We needed to find a guide dog for this directionally challenged demon king. Or at least train the Demon Wolf King first,"

Lin said, looking at me with a sigh.

"You better apologize to the Demon Wolf King properly later, you idiot who can't tell the difference between a wolf and a dog."

I've been using Heavenly Punishment a bit unusually today.

These two girls are completely unreliable; even Bee is starting to be corrupted by them. With this resentment, I didn't bother arguing with them and simply had Lin and Bee transform into their battle forms to start searching for a way out.

"Let's look this way first."

Reaching one of the doors, I prepared to press the activation mechanism.

"Danger!"

Qingtian suddenly flew over, blocking the mechanism and shouting, "Given Master's terrible sense of direction and tragic nature, the first path Master chose is definitely the most dangerous. So, absolutely do not open this door." "

..."

I felt like if I listened to Qingtian's advice, my integrity would be completely ruined. But if I didn't, I felt like I'd really encounter some crisis. Damn it! Neither choice makes me happy! Being directionally challenged isn't my fault! It's not my fault I'm a tragic figure!

After much deliberation, I finally realized the importance of my life, so I abandoned all my integrity and headed towards the other door.

A massive door slowly rose with a deafening roar, instantly unleashing a wave of heat. Countless sparks danced before my eyes, and below lay a deep abyss, its depths churning with dark red lava, bubbling like boiling water.

Before me stood a volcanic crater, its surrounding walls blackened by the fire, radiating an intense heat. Climbing out of the crater was one option, but the countless firebirds circling overhead made me abandon the idea. Damn it, I'd probably face a barrage of attacks as soon as I got out.

Closing the first door, I found another passage. With a thunderous roar, I immediately saw hordes of ash demons and fire spirits gathering. Upon seeing the door open, the monsters initially gave me questioning looks, which quickly turned into excited anticipation, ready to embrace me.

"..."

I mechanically closed the stone door and turned back to open the last one. Outside, instead of hordes of monsters, lay a pool of lava with a passageway running through the middle. Four magma trolls, like gods of death, slowly turned their heads and looked back at me.

"Damn it! Tell me, which one is the safest?!"

I roared at Qingtian, slamming the door shut.

"It must be because Master was too tragic. That's why this happened,"

Qingtian retorted, still unconvinced.

"Fine! Now let me tell you, life can't always be a dark road; miracles always happen. And this miracle is behind this door," I said,

pointing to the stone door I had initially chosen.

Without waiting for Qingtian's dissuasion, I opened the stone door. The door rose with a roar, revealing a stone chamber exactly like where I was now, except for one more thing. A black and red magma ball floated in mid-air, like a crimson sun, its surface leaping with tongues of fire like a corona.

Although the fireball looked very strange, there were no other monsters in the room, proving that it was at least safe here.

"Did you see that? Did you see that? Heaven has opened its eyes!"

Like a wronged soul finally vindicated, I cried out, tears streaming down my face.

"Impossible! How could this happen? This can't be real!"

Qingtian knelt on the ground like a defeated dog, shaking her head in disbelief.

"Hey, be at least happy that we're still alive!"

Qingtian's appearance really annoyed me. This brat must have been caught by the system because they were planning to give me a long-term dose of吐槽 (tu cao, a form of online criticism).

"This world is beyond saving, it's about to be destroyed. We're going to die. We're going to die!"

Qingtian grabbed my collar, screaming hysterically as if facing the apocalypse.

"...Damn it, before that, I really want to destroy you first!"

Qingtian still looked desperate, which suddenly gave me the urge to kill her.

"No, as my master's pet, I must always steadfastly follow him. Therefore, even though this world has collapsed, even at the very last moment, Qingtian will still be with her master. Master, come! Let us enjoy this last brief moment of good fortune you created with all your life's luck!"

Completely "desperate," Qingtian suddenly grabbed my hand, speaking with a mixture of expectation and sorrow.

"Would you die if you didn't criticize me?"

I finally snapped!

"That's right."

The little girl nodded firmly without hesitation. ...

"Hey! You two little devils. What are you doing causing trouble in someone else's house?"

Suddenly, a deep, heavy voice echoed in the hall.

Without time to see who made the sound, I quickly pressed the mechanism on the stone door, trying to close it again.

But no matter how I pressed it, the stone door remained unmoved, still wide open.

Seeing the unknown danger lurking in the hall, Lin and Feng immediately and faithfully stood in front of me.

Flames leaped violently from the magma sphere in the center of the room. A pair of long, curved horns emerged from the fireball, followed by a lion's head, then a massive body, strong hind legs, and a pair of muscular arms. A huge beast with dark brown skin slowly crawled out of the magma sphere.

This was Yevlit, the sacred fire beast of Arabian legend, a spirit that controlled fire. This lousy game dragged me into the world of Heroes of Might and Magic (let's call this instance Heroes of Might and Magic for now). I became a henchman of the Doomsday Catastrophe. A beast who fell in love with the beautiful elf queen.

Accompanied by the sound of war drums, a black beast appeared above the fireball, its body covered in steel-like muscles, a lion's face exuding a majestic yet wild aura, long scimitar-like horns extending to its back, and a mane like flames covering its chest and back.

Damn! I won the lottery. I won the grand prize. I actually skipped all the obstacles of the Hellfire Volcano and ran straight to the big boss's room. No wonder there were so many monsters in the other rooms, they were all Yeflit's guards!

"I knew it. How could the first path chosen by the idiot master be safe?"

Sunny said smugly.

Idiot, now is not the time to be smug!

"Although I don't know how you avoided my children and broke in here. But since you're here, stay."

The lion-headed monster looked at us and said lazily. But its palm had already gently lifted a fireball, as if to throw it at us.

"Wait!"

I cried out in fright at the sight of the deep green fireball, which was streaked with blue light.

"Any last words?"

Hearing my shout, Yefrit didn't rush to attack, but looked at me with the same teasing gaze he had for his prey.

"Your Majesty! I've come to pledge my allegiance to you! I have a conspiracy involving an elf to report!"

In this critical moment, I didn't hesitate to betray the elf.

"How shameful, Master!"

Sunny whispered in my ear, covering her face.

"Damn it, which is more important, face or your life? How was Ma Su executed? How was Yue Fei killed? How was Emperor Yingzong of Ming captured? It was all because of his pride!"

I said in a low voice, like I was disciplining a wayward child.

"Oh? A conspiracy?"

Since it concerned his lover, Yefrit was naturally intrigued. The monster put away the fireball, put his hands in front of his chest, and asked curiously.

"Here's the thing. The elves and those shameless mages have conspired to create a potion that supposedly can destroy your magic crystal. They want me to come here to collect the essence of magma from the Earth's core to complete this potion,"

I said with a look of deep revulsion. "But I've long admired you, my lord, and how could I let their evil scheme succeed? Therefore, I risked being wanted by the elves and mages to come and deliver this message to you. On the way, to avoid misunderstandings with your subordinates, I had to evade them. After overcoming countless hardships, I've finally found you, my king!"

I said, my face beaming with excitement, almost as if I wanted to shout, "I want to be your sugar daddy, I can have sex with you!"

"However, I think once they find out my mission failed, they'll definitely send someone else. Please be careful, Your Majesty, and make sure the essence of magma from the Earth's core isn't stolen by them,"

I concluded with a loyal and devoted lament.

"Ding! The 'Flame Toxin' quest has failed. The Elf and Mage races have listed you as their mortal enemy. You will be unable to join either race's faction in any dungeons."

The system's cold notification rang in my ears.

Damn, the punishment is really cruel. I'm hated by all the elves and mages. But who cares? My life is more important now. Offending two factions doesn't mean I can't do dungeons, does it? I'll wipe out those two bastards later.

"The poison that destroys my magic crystal?"

Yefrit stroked his chin, still looking at me with suspicion.

"That's right, this is the half-finished product they gave me. Just add some magma essence and it will be complete."

To prove it, I didn't hesitate to take out the potion the elves had given me.

A fire serpent flew out from under Yefrit's feet, coiled up the potion, and flew into its hand. The monster lifted the bottle cap, sniffed it, and a look of seriousness appeared on its face. Then it sneered, "Hmph, this kind of trash thinks it can destroy my magic crystal? My sweetheart, you underestimate me too much."

As it spoke, Yeflit stretched out its claw, and a drop of glassy liquid flowed from its fingertip and dripped into the bottle. "Pong!"

A cloud of gray smoke in the shape of a skull billowed from the bottle's mouth. (Damn, this is too cartoonish! It doesn't fit the current atmosphere at all!) Instantly, the emerald green liquid in the bottle turned into crystal-clear water.

Needless to say, the liquid Yefrit dripped was definitely the essence of magma; the poison was truly complete.

Speaking of which, if it only required dripping, why make someone go all the way to the mage city to complete it?

Is the system just deliberately making things difficult for the player?

Picking up the bottle, Yefrit suddenly drank it all in one gulp. The monster frowned slightly, then suddenly exhaled a burst of flame from its mouth, followed by a long, pleasant sigh, its expression as if it had just smoked a cigarette, blissfully content.

"Hahaha! My sweetheart, is this what you prepared for me? I'm so disappointed."

The monster burst into deafening laughter, its eyes gradually darkening. "It seems your promise to me was just a perfunctory gesture. Then let me personally lead my children to bring you back as my bride."

Although I had interfered, the overall plot continued as before. Following the normal route, after obtaining the pure fire essence and making poison, the elf would instruct the player to use it to destroy Yefrit's magic crystal. However, this so-called secret potion clearly failed. Whether the player poured it directly on Yefrit or smeared it on a weapon and inserted it into the monster's body, it could only temporarily force the monster back. As the monster retreated, it summoned two lava trolls to block the player's pursuit. Upon killing the monster and returning to the elven city, the player would receive a message that Yefrit was preparing to attack the elven city. The news of the attack arrives.

Players then have to rush to the Mage City to seek the mages' help. The mages, taking advantage of the situation, extort money from the player, demanding they find the Titan's Lightning. After three or four more quests, once the Titan's Lightning is found, the player can join the Titan legion dispatched by the Mage City to rescue the Elf City. However, by this time, the Elf City has almost fallen to the forces of Hellfire Volcano. The elves have retreated to the Crystal Tree, putting up a final stand against the volcano's forces. Ultimately, the Mage City's intervention

forces the Hellfire Volcano to retreat. While the elves are saved, their strength is greatly diminished, forcing them to submit to the Mage City and become their vassals. The mages become the biggest winners of this side quest, not only repelling the Hellfire Volcano forces and greatly increasing their prestige, but also recovering the long-lost artifact—the Titan's Lightning—and even gaining a large harem of a thousand beautiful elves. It's quite... Suspecting that the seemingly useless elixir was part of their conspiracy,

the highest reward for completing this side quest is a high elf—the Queen's Guard—who sacrificed herself to revive the elven race. This is accompanied by an elemental potion from the mage race, granting 10% resistance to all spells. As for the main boss, Yefrit, he's relegated to a minor role, seemingly irrelevant. Even if you kill him in the final battle, he won't drop anything—not even a wooden chest, let alone feign death.

Another legend states that if you, with the Queen's Guard and as an elven, find the Elven Longbow, Unicorn Reins, Endless Quiver, Crown of Life, and Heart of the Crystal Tree in this instance, combining them to create the artifact-level pet item—the Guardian of the Moon Goddess—and give it to the Queen's Guard, she will then help the elven race... If you break free from the mage's control and defeat the apocalyptic calamity, the Elf Queen will abdicate the throne to you, making you the new Elf Queen. After that, this instance will be yours, becoming your portable harem. The NPCs within will be at your beck and call, more enjoyable than being an emperor. Of course, this instance still exists, meaning the legend remains just that—a legend.

Enough of this digression. Clearly, Yeflit has now made up his mind to set off to steal his queen. Speaking of which, the Elf Queen's fate is quite tragic. She's always been the one to be taken, either as the first wife, second wife, or mistress, often sacrificing her entire tribe in the process—the very thing that makes the protagonist the envy of others. Because, like the dragons, she possesses something that attracts covetousness. Taking down dragons is for money, for princesses. Taking down her brings the same reward!

"Very well. I appreciate your sincerity. Since you wish to serve the great Jefried, then I shall grant your wish!"

Just as the Japanese commander received the message from the puppet army, Jefried nodded its lion head in satisfaction.

Four emerald fireballs shot out from the magma sphere beneath its feet, quickly surrounding me. Before I could react, four fire serpents erupted from the fireballs, encircling my body.

Instantly, my body burst into flames, as if magma were flowing into my blood. A searing, tearing, and knife-scratching pain coursed through my entire body, causing me unbearable agony.

"Oh? I didn't expect you to still have my bloodline within you. That makes things even simpler. Burn! Offer your life to me!"

In a hazy state, I heard the monster's surprised sigh, and then I lost consciousness.

In my unconsciousness, I still felt myself being roasted by a raging fire, my very soul groaning and screaming in agony. This excruciating suffering lasted for an unknown amount of time, until gradually, I suddenly felt that the fire no longer caused me pain. Instead, it became so warm and comforting, like a family member, bringing me peace.

Could this be the final stage of training? A new realm... pain turned into pleasure? Holy crap! I

awoke fully, my body aching, but feeling as if I were soaking in a hot spring, the warm water flowing around me soothing the pain.

Opening my eyes, I saw a sea of crimson. Above me was a cave blackened by smoke, but the red light illuminated it a deep crimson. Beside me, a lava waterfall cascaded down from the sky, forming a lava pool below. Countless firebirds, fire elementals, and ash demons played and frolicked in the pool, and I was soaking in the churning lava.

"Holy crap!"

I leaped out of the pool, terrified. What happened? Where am I? What did Yevlith do to me?

Looking at the endless monsters and my surroundings, I was completely bewildered. Then, looking at my entire body, I felt like I'd been struck by lightning. My skin was a vibrant, 250-pixel red, like the protagonist in Hellboy. Besides the red, bursts of flame kept erupting from my body, as if breathing from my very core.

What happened? What happened? This question immediately filled my mind. I took a deep breath, forcing myself to calm down. I quickly opened my attribute panel and quest log, and suddenly, the clues began to connect.

Quest Notes. The Defected Flame Demon: You have been forcibly added to the Hellfire Volcano faction by Yeflit and cannot leave this instance, faction, or area without Yeflit's permission. Only by killing Yeflit can you escape its control. Quest Objective: Kill Yeflit. ...

An elite Flame Demon, unable to leave the instance, let alone Hellfire Volcano? Have I become a monster in Hellfire Volcano? This thought churned in my mind, refusing to subside.

Becoming a monster is one thing, at least I can find a way to escape. Moreover, this transformation undoubtedly allows my strength to grow rapidly.

But the main problem is that the system's main quest is still on its countdown! How can I level up if I can't kill monsters? Will I just die anyway?

I quickly jumped to the open ground beside the lava pool and checked my inventory. Luckily, Sunny and the others' pet tags were still there. Now I can only discuss countermeasures with these pets. Thinking of this, I immediately summoned them.

"Ugh, I told you so. Master, you're so unlucky, I never thought you'd be this unlucky. Ah...it's so hot!"

Qingtian sighed and tried to pat my shoulder, but the flames on my body burned her so badly she jumped around.

"Hmm, hmm! Just as I expected, Master is a perverted demon king. I guess this arrangement was tailor-made for you by the system."

Lin looked me over and nodded.

"Damn it, I'd rather believe this is because you cursed me!"

I said unhappily.

"Actually, it's not bad. Master didn't have a suitable skill system before, but now she has her own skill set. I guess it's a blessing in disguise."

Qingtian blew on her reddened hand and said.

"The problem is that the countdown is still going on. If I don't reach level 50 in 3 months, I'll be wiped out. That's the key!"

I said dejectedly.

"Even though you're a monster, you should still be able to level up in other ways, right?"

Qingtian thought for a moment and said, "Like killing players."

"Killing players can give you experience?"

I asked curiously.

"Of course, I killed two players before, which is how I suddenly evolved into my current form,"

Lin said.

"Hmm? Tell me more."

"Back then, a group of players entered the jungle and were surrounded by us. In the end, they fought us to a standstill. We were almost all dead, and they only had two people left, both seriously injured. I took advantage of their momentary lapse in attention and poisoned them to death with a poison stinger. After they died, I suddenly gained a power and evolved into the Forest Guardian I am now,"

Lin thought.

It seems this girl reaped the benefits, picking up the last one and successfully leveling up. But this isn't a solution, I still lamented, "But where am I going to find players to kill now? We can't even get out of here."

"Ah! This is so troublesome! I don't know, I don't know!"

Lin immediately gave up, as expected, tsundere lolis are unreliable.

"If we can't kill people, then we can only keep killing monsters."

Finally, thanks to Sunny, the former guide spirit, a solution came up, "Didn't Yeflit say he was going to attack the Elf City? Master, if you go with him, you can gain experience."

"Hmm, that's a good idea."

I immediately agreed; this was the only way. At worst, if I wasn't level 50 after conquering the Elf City, I could persuade Yefrit to attack the Mage City. If that didn't work, I could have him unify the eight kingdoms. I refused to believe this level 120 map wasn't enough to get me to level 50. As long as it didn't trigger the apocalypse. But even if the sky falls, there are taller people to hold it up. I'll just follow Yefrit around as his lackey, offering advice and guidance—isn't that what every YY protagonist does?

"Bee, what are you thinking about?"

Seeing Bee's pensive expression, I cautiously asked.

"Hmm!"

Bee murmured, raising her head and furrowing her brows. "I'm thinking about how to make love with my dear master in the future. Transfiguration can't create a body resistant to high temperatures. But it's okay, Master-slave will definitely be patient."

"..."

Damn, I thought this sophisticated woman with her office lady aura would possess the wisdom of a high-ranking socialite. Turns out she's a nymphomaniac, and aside from palace intrigue, she's even less reliable than Lin. Holy crap.

"What? Can't you see we're in a meeting?"

While I was considering the seriousness of Bee's words, a chubby fire elemental next to me caught my attention. I looked at it impatiently and said.

This monster looked like a balloon, with a chubby body, a pair of droopy eyebrows, and beady green eyes, giving it a goofy face. Its appearance was adorable; if it were made into a toy, it would definitely sell well.

Hearing me call it, the fire elemental was slightly startled, then immediately started gesturing wildly. Although I didn't know what it was gesturing, a message had already entered my mind: "Master said that if you wake up, he will take you to see him."

So it was a soldier sent by Yevlit to find me. I was just wondering how to start the conversation, but unexpectedly, it came to me on its own. That suited me perfectly.

With a wave of my hand, I had it lead the way, and I put away the three Sunny Girls and followed it to see my current boss.

We wandered through the maze of lava... After wandering around for a while, I returned to the room where I had first encountered Jefried. Several clearly elite monsters were gathered around him, seemingly discussing something. One was a massive magma troll, significantly larger than the other trolls; another was a vibrant green fire elemental, its body radiating a lightning-like azure light; a fire lord, its entire body composed of fire elements, a half-body armor forming its form, while its lower body was a ball of flame; a fire banshee, its alluring body entirely composed of flames; and finally, an elite firebird avatar—Fiona, Jefried's mistress, lover, and second wife without large breasts, resembling the fire banshee but with a pair of enormous wings.

The fire elemental entered the room, bowed to Jefried, and then withdrew. Jefried and its five great leaders immediately noticed me.

"You've arrived?"

Jefrit sat cross-legged on its lava sphere, clearly in a bad mood. Seeing me, it nodded and asked,

"Great King, I have come to obey your summons."

I immediately knelt on one knee, flattering it.

"Hmm, it seems your fusion is going well,"

Jefrit said, looking me over with satisfaction.

"Yes, praise be to the great King, your power has given me a new life. I think you summoned me here because you have some great decree to convey to me."

Facing my current boss, I naturally wanted to please him as much as possible.

"As expected of a life form transformed from a human, although your strength is somewhat weak now, your mind is quite sharp."

Receiving my flattery, Jefrit nodded slightly, a satisfied smile appearing on its lion head.

However, the five giants beside it looked thoroughly displeased. Damn it, this kid is here to steal our business, and his flattery is even better than ours. Fiona, in particular, felt the strongest sense of crisis; she felt she might not even be able to keep her position as a mistress. Therefore, her gaze towards me was especially sharp. It's that look a mistress gives a newly arrived concubine. It really annoys me.

I have absolutely no desire to be a lion-headed monster's gigolo! Put away your sense of crisis! You bastard.

"Yes! Under your firelight, the earth will be covered with volcanoes. Under your teachings, we will bathe in your firelight, our flames of life burning eternally. Under your guidance, we will overcome all dangers and spread your firelight to every corner of the world. Now I can't wait to go and fight the apocalyptic disaster one-on-one, you are the only true god in this world!"

I said passionately.

"Hmm, not bad. But let's put that aside for now."

Yeflit was obviously startled by my crazy expression and stopped me, "Let's continue discussing the attack on the elven city. We've encountered a small problem."

Tch, so he's just a mountain bandit king with no grand ambitions, only thinking about taking a bandit queen home to warm his bed. Serves him right for being confined to a small area as a mid-level boss. Such a short-sighted person naturally disdains my following.

However, I couldn't reveal this thought, so I immediately said with an eager expression, "Compared to your wisdom, my little bit of cleverness is like the brilliance of the moon compared to the light of a firefly; I dare not show it off. But even so, I am willing to contribute my humble wisdom to advise you. I wonder what difficulties you have encountered?"

"Youyan, explain it to him,"

Yefrit said, pointing to the fire nymph beside him.

"Yes, Great King."

Facing a transmigrator like me, a low-IQ fire elementalist, there were naturally no fancy words of praise. I bowed slightly to Yefrit. He looked at me arrogantly and said, "The Elven race has set up an Iron Tree Barrier on the front line, and has set up a water barrier and elite archers on it to block our army's advance. If we try to force our way through this barrier, we will lose a large number of elite troops. We are discussing how to take down this barrier."

"I wonder how wide this barrier is? And what is used to maintain the water barrier?"

I asked.

"The barrier covers almost half of the elven territory, making it impossible to bypass. Behind the barrier, a legion of high elves is stationed, replenishing the water barrier's magic power."

The haughty fire banshee looked disdainful, as if to say, "Do you really need to tell me how to bypass such a idiotic method as bypassing the barrier?"

"Wise and mighty king, do you have a strategic map that I could refer to?"

Too lazy to deal with this inherently dim-witted fire banshee, I asked Yeflit.

"Strategic map? What's that?"

Yeflit asked, looking puzzled.

Damn it, have you all lived for tens of thousands of years and your war concepts are still stuck in the Stone Age? I muttered to myself, then, like a protagonist in a light novel, I said in a charlatan's tone, "It's something that can show the terrain of a battle, preferably in three dimensions."

"Oh, a map. Cook, you draw one."

Yeflit looked displeased, as if blaming me for making it so complicated, then said to the lava troll beside him.

"Yes, Great King."

The magma troll's tone was somewhat stiff, but he still obeyed his boss's orders. The rocks on his body quickly collapsed, piling up on the ground in undulating patterns, gradually forming a terrain map. The monster

wasn't stupid; it could think of using this method to create a map. Although the entire map was made of black rock, it was still understandable through the undulations and a few distinctive fireballs. It circled the map several times, nodding and pondering from time to time, causing even several monsters with an IQ of 10 to show a solemn expression.

Actually, with my limited brain cells, how could I come up with any good ideas? I was just constantly showing off and acting like a charlatan.

At the same time, I was recalling how Yefrit conquered the elven city and forced the elven race to the Crystal Tree in the normal quest route.

It seemed that the player wasn't involved in the battle of the Iron Tree Stronghold, yet Yefrit still managed to breach the stronghold.

This means I'm not under much pressure; no matter what bad idea I come up with, I can break through this "Maginot Line." However, if things go well, there might be unexpected rewards waiting for me. Otherwise, at least it will make things easier for me to talk to Jefrit and the five giants later.

The Elves naturally built this fortress extremely strong to resist Jefrit's attack. As the Flame Banshee said, a direct assault would require a huge price, which is probably one of the reasons Jefrit couldn't take the Crystal Tree in the end—his forces were exhausted, and the Mage City ultimately benefited.

Speaking of which, the plot has completely changed now. Without player participation, the Mage City is unlikely to come to the Elven City's aid. Even if they do come, without Titan's Thunder, the Mage City can't summon Titan armies, significantly weakening its strength. In other words, if I do well, Jefrit might actually win the Queen's hand. Then, I should get a few Queen's Guards, right? I couldn't help but daydream again.

"Great King, I have three strategies—superior, middle, and inferior—for your choice."

Thinking this, I immediately raised my head and said confidently.

"Oh? My dear minister, speak quickly!"

Yevlith's eyes lit up with delight. Damn, he's really getting into character.

"The Iron Tree Fortress is high and thick, guarded by elite troops. A direct assault would be unwise; only an alternative route will suffice."

I started to show off, stroking my non-existent long beard, only missing a feather fan in my hand, and shaking my head as I said, "The inferior strategy is to take an elite force, bypass the fortress, and go straight into the enemy's mage camp, cutting off the foundation of their water barrier. Combined with a frontal assault, this will leave them unable to defend both ends, disrupting their plans." "Brilliant! Absolutely brilliant! With your assistance, I am like the King of Han with Han Xin; the Imperial Uncle with Zhuge Liang; Emperor Mingzong with Liu Bei. It is truly heaven's help! With your brilliant plan, the Elven City will be within our grasp."

As soon as he finished speaking, Yevlit cheered with joy and then loudly announced, "All soldiers, listen to my command! We will prepare food at midnight and raise an army at dawn. We will march immediately and take the Elven City!"

"Um, Your Majesty, please wait a moment. I haven't finished explaining my other two strategies yet."

Wiping away a cold sweat, I quickly stopped him. What utter nonsense! Three strategies were proposed, and you only listened to the worst one, and you got all excited like you were on drugs. Even if Pigsy were alive, he'd be furious with you. You bunch of scoundrels.

In those light novels, someone like me with an IQ of 13 can only manage to outsmart you NPCs with IQs of 10. Luckily, the opponents over there are only IQs of 11. Otherwise, we'd all be done for and go home to sleep.

"Oh, then, my lord, speak quickly."

Having obtained a plan, Yefrit felt victory was assured and said impatiently.

"The middle strategy is to divert the volcanic flames elsewhere, destroying the dense forest and turning the forests upon which the elves depend for survival into scorched earth. As everyone knows, the elves depend on the forest for survival; without the forest, they are like trees without roots, utterly vulnerable."

I said slowly. "And then..."

"Brilliant! Good! As you say, my lord. All soldiers, listen to my command! We will prepare food at midnight and announce our arrival at dawn. We will immediately march and capture that elven city!"

Before I could finish, Yefrit slapped his thigh and shouted excitedly. Damn

it, let me finish! You bunch of bumpkins! Laozi was immediately ready to quit, but after thinking about it, he held back.

"There's another strategy called 'using a borrowed knife to kill.' Actually, the mage clan and the elf clan were originally at odds, but the arrival of the Great King has turned them into a bunch of snakes and rats, banding together. As long as the Great King promises the mage clan a small benefit, their alliance can be destroyed. If he rewards them handsomely, he might even be able to make the mage clan turn against him and attack from both sides. Then the elf clan will be even more unable to hold on."

I said in the end.

"Hmph, humans are indeed cunning, they love to play these kinds of tricks. Our powerful Hellfire clan will naturally fight a fair and square battle to conquer the elven city. Using such a treacherous scheme would only diminish our prestige!"

Like the barbaric chieftain of the Mongol tribe, the Flame Lord roared disdainfully.

Sigh, this weak force is really a bit stupid, no wonder they've been used without even realizing it.

"Hmm, this plan is good, but as Destruction said, it somewhat diminishes the prestige of our clan."

Yeflit said thoughtfully.

"Your Majesty! In all battles, victory is achieved through both orthodox and unorthodox tactics. Therefore, those skilled in unorthodox tactics are as boundless as the earth and as inexhaustible as rivers. A commander should not be bogged down in trivial matters, but should prioritize the lives of his soldiers. Only then can he strategize effectively, achieve decisive victories, and dominate the battlefield!"

I immediately remonstrated, displaying a resolute determination to die if he still wouldn't listen.

The hall fell into a deathly silence, the monsters staring at me with astonished eyes. They seemed stunned by my unprecedented insight. Hmm, this kind of melodramatic plot from a light novel is actually quite satisfying.

This is the superiority of having an IQ of 13!

"Well, that's true. But could you elaborate a little?"

Yevlit paused, then asked timidly.

Holy crap. Apparently, he didn't understand. Wiping away a bead of cold sweat, and relieved that he had at least intimidated them, he quickly said, "Your Majesty, although our Hellfire Volcano soldiers are brave and fearless under your leadership, they are still Your Majesty's people. Each one is Your Majesty's most precious asset. It would be a waste to sacrifice these precious assets to elves who only know how to hide behind the city walls and launch sneak attacks. Only by using them in the most crucial and necessary places can their true value be revealed. Therefore, we should try our best to preserve this asset and use it in the great battle to capture the elven capital. When the army is overwhelming and besieges the city, the elves will surely surrender. The elven queen will also be impressed by Your Majesty's bravery and wisdom and will kneel at your feet."

"Oh! Oh!"

Yeflit sighed with longing. It seems that he only took the last two sentences to heart.

"Very well. In that case, all soldiers, heed my command! Our army will prepare food at midnight and issue a proclamation at dawn. We will march immediately and capture that elven city!"

As if the elven city were right before his eyes, Yevlith waved his hand and roared.

"Yes, sir!"

The five great leaders responded with a thunderous roar.

"Your Majesty! Your Majesty!"

Damn it, these idiots! After all that talk, they're still planning a chaotic, all-out attack. I was sweating bullets and quickly shouted, "Then let's use both orthodox and unorthodox tactics to win!"

"Oh. That's troublesome."

When it came to using his brain, Yevlith faltered again. The earlier fervor suddenly deflated. Sitting atop the lava sphere, he said impatiently, "Since you came up with the idea, tell me how you plan to proceed."

"Yes, Your Majesty."

Finally managing to calm this group of idiots, I wiped away a bead of cold sweat and said, "Actually, my three plans don't conflict. We can do them simultaneously. First, we can lure the volcanic lava down below the barrier to scare them, creating terrain advantageous to us. We can also use small groups to constantly harass them, making it impossible for them to eat or sleep peacefully. Additionally, we can send an elite force to bypass the barrier and directly attack the high elf camp in the rear. Of course, the most crucial thing is to send an envoy to persuade the mage clan to send troops to attack the elven capital city simultaneously with us. Then the elven city will be caught between two fronts, unable to defend itself, and will inevitably fall into chaos."

Explaining anything too complex to these idiots would probably be incomprehensible, so I'd rather be straightforward.

"Hmm. But we're not familiar with the mage clan. How do we persuade them?"

Yeflit scratched his large head, looking troubled.

"It's alright. The mage race has always been fond of studying magic. Your Majesty only needs to present a few of our clan's fire magic spells, and you'll naturally impress them. Once they've thoroughly studied these spells, they can only use them elsewhere, and they won't harm our race. There's no need to worry. Furthermore, promise them that 'the land they occupy will belong to them.' The mage race will definitely be tempted,"

I said.

"Alright, Ophina, take 'Self-Destruction' and 'Fire Sacrifice' to the mage city and make sure you persuade them to send troops to join us in besieging the elven city,"

Yefrit finally declared.

Just hearing those two skills, I knew they weren't good. As for whether they could impress the mage race, believe it or not, I certainly did. This is a map full of idiots!

"Cook, Destruction, the task of diverting the magic spring to the elven territory is entrusted to you. Oserth, the task of raiding their rear will be handled by your Fire Demon clan."

Yeflit waved his hand, roaring like a head of state, "All soldiers, heed my command! We will prepare food at midnight and proclamate our troops at dawn. Set out immediately and capture that elven city!"

"Yes, sir!"

the monsters roared in response. ...Damn it, all they ever say is that one line.
