Chapter Fifteen: Recognizing Ancestors and Returning to One's Lineage

At this moment, the night sky was high and vast, filled with countless stars. The surrounding dense forest was pitch black, and gusts of night wind swept through, causing withered branches and wild grass to sway and rustle, adding to the desolation and terror of the night.

Although Jiang Tiantao was fearless with his sword in hand, being in such a sinister atmosphere made him feel a chill run down his spine and his heart pound with unease. As he moved forward, he discovered the pile of white objects in the stone chamber, seemingly placed in the very center of a stone bed. On the right side of the bed sat a small ancient steel cauldron. Upon seeing the small cauldron, Jiang Tiantao immediately realized that the pile of white objects was likely human bones.

But what was that thing that faintly glowed red? In a moment of thought, he reached the half-collapsed stone wall, looked up at the stone bed, and his expression changed slightly, a sense of dread rising within him. The white objects in the center of the stone bed were indeed a pile of bones. The bones had eroded away, leaving only two cheekbones from the skull; the rest of the bones were mostly broken, but it was still clear that the person had been sitting cross-legged.

Jiang Tiantao, filled with sorrow, stepped over the scattered stones, his gaze fixed on the pile of bones, and slowly walked to the bedside. The object that faintly glowed red was buried among the bones; upon closer inspection, it turned out to be a tiny silk pouch, as thin as a cicada's wing. Based on the scene before him, Jiang Tiantao judged that this pile of bones must belong to a hermit who had secluded himself and cultivated in this strange forest formation, and that tiny silk pouch was certainly no ordinary object.

Thinking that the bones had once belonged to a hermit from many years ago, he felt a deep sense of sorrow and respect. He first sheathed his sword, then bowed deeply, knelt on the ground, and silently prayed, "Disciple Jiang Tiantao unintentionally trespassed into the sacred ground of your immortal cultivation, senior. Please forgive any offense I have committed. If there is any dying wish, I am willing to fulfill it on your behalf!"

After finishing his prayer, he rose and walked to the bedside, reached out and pinched one corner of the silk pouch, and deftly lifted it. A flash of red light, and the silk pouch rose from the pile of white bones. Upon closer inspection, the pouch was only five inches square, but inside it contained more than ten small, crystal-clear, sparkling beads, like gemstones. Although Jiang Tiantao didn't know what these were, he was certain they were the precious possessions of the Bone Hero, perhaps some kind of treasure to ward off evil spirits, protect against fire and poison.

In a flash, he untied the pouch, pinched one out, and examined it. It was crystal clear, crimson like fire, and shimmered with light. Upon closer inspection, it didn't seem like a gemstone. The bullets were about the size of longans, tapering to a point at the bottom and multi-faceted at the top like a plate. Upon closer inspection, three small gold characters were clearly engraved on the plate: "Heavenly Thunder Bullet."

Jiang Tiantao was utterly puzzled. He didn't know if "Heavenly Thunder Bullet" represented the White Bone Strangeman or was the name of these crimson bullets. He peered into the small steel cauldron, which was filled with mud and empty. He looked down at the Heavenly Thunder Bullet in his hand; its center was hollow, seemingly filled with a mercury-like liquid. A thought struck him, wondering if it might be some kind of elixir.

But the name "Heavenly Thunder Bullet" didn't seem like something edible. So, he touched the pointed tip with his finger to avoid its sharpness, and then a thought struck him: these dozen or so peculiar bullets, round at the top and pointed at the bottom, might be the hidden weapons that the White Bone Strangeman used to make him famous. Thinking of hidden weapons, he immediately stepped out, determined to find something to test them on.

Looking up, he saw a section of collapsed stone wall about seven or eight meters ahead. Focusing his mind and gathering his strength, he let out a loud shout and struck out with his wrist. A crimson light, accompanied by a terrifying, piercing whistle, shot straight towards the stone wall. A flash of red light, a cloud of white smoke, and a deafening roar followed. Stones flew everywhere, dust swirled, and the rumbling sound lingered. The section of stone wall instantly became a shallow crater. Countless stones, accompanied by whistling sounds, flew in all directions.

Jiang Tiantao, seeing this, paled greatly. With a flick of his sleeve, he retreated three zhang (approximately 10 meters) and turned to run towards Xiaoqing. Xiaoqing was even more terrified, galloping out of the grove and letting out a startled neigh. Fearing Xiaoqing would be too frightened, Jiang Tiantao shouted, leaping into the air, soaring over the grove, and landing on Xiaoqing's saddle. Xiaoqing neighed again, unleashing its full power, and charged into the dense forest like lightning. The sound of stones hitting the ground echoed behind him, one after another, incessantly.

Jiang Tiantao hadn't expected the Heavenly Thunder Spear to possess such terrifying power, and recalling the horrifying situation just now, he still felt lingering fear. He had no time to think about who those bones belonged to; in any case, someone who used such a domineering and unparalleled hidden weapon was definitely not a kind-hearted or magnanimous person. In that instant, he unconsciously glanced at the Heavenly Thunder Spear in the silk pouch in his hand, and couldn't help but shake his head with lingering fear. For a moment, he truly didn't know what to do with these little things. Then he thought, keeping them might have greater uses for him; if he carelessly discarded them, what if they fell into the hands of villains?

Before he could finish this thought, a joyful and sweet cry suddenly rang out: "Miss Leng, there she is!"

Jiang Tiantao was genuinely startled; it was none other than the voice of Huangfu Xiang, the Silver Hairpin. Following the sound, Jiang Tiantao saw Huangfu Xiang and Leng Ping, their faces flushed with anxiety and joy, galloping towards him from under the large tree blocking his path. Jiang Tiantao hadn't expected them to have caught up with him into the formation. Startled, he turned his horse and spurred it towards the row of trees stretching outwards.

Leng Ping and Yinchai, who had caught up, immediately cried out in their sweet voices, "Hey, stop! Stop! We only have a few questions for you!" Hearing this

, Jiang Tiantao dared not stop. He secretly spurred his horse, and Xiao Qing reared up and neighed angrily, increasing its speed even further. Since he had entered the center of the formation through the row of trees stretching inwards, Jiang Tiantao thought that the row of trees extending outwards might be the exit, though he wasn't sure. He darted left and right, galloping for a while, when suddenly a bright light appeared before his eyes. The sky was filled with countless stars, and the plains ahead were pitch black. He had indeed ridden out of the strange forest formation. Startled, he reined in his horse and hurriedly tried to determine his direction. Just as he stopped, Yinchai and Lengping, who were closely following behind, also galloped out in pursuit. Jiang Tiantao was startled and quickly jerked the reins, turning his head without looking back and galloping straight to the left.

Lengping, dressed in lake-green robes and with a face as beautiful as a spring flower, seized the opportunity and spurred her horse forward, rushing to Jiang Tiantao's back. At the same time, she complained angrily, "How can you be so unreasonable?" As she spoke, her hand moved with lightning speed, her slender fingers grabbing and ripping the back of Jiang Tiantao's blue robe.

Jiang Tiantao was startled and quickly pulled on the reins, ducking and turning his horse around. Lengping's hand immediately missed, and his horse grazed past Xiaoqing, galloping away. Just then, another sharp cry rang out, and a flash of light appeared as Huangfu Xiang galloped forward on her horse. With a slender hand, she swiftly struck Xiao Qing's horse's back. Upon seeing Huangfu Xiang, Jiang Tiantao's anger flared instantly. He shouted, reined in his horse, and Xiao Qing let out an angry neigh. Her front hooves suddenly reared up, and with a fierce spin, she leaped out of the encirclement and galloped forward like the wind.

Huangfu Xiang's hand grasped at empty air, her delicate body swaying several times, nearly falling from her horse. Leng Ping, who had just returned, greatly admired Jiang Tiantao's superb riding skills, but she was disheartened by his coldness. Therefore, she sadly watched Jiang Tiantao's galloping figure, muttering resentfully to herself, "He's truly a heartless man."

Huangfu Xiang, who had almost fallen from her horse, was pale with anger, her body trembling. She said bitterly, "We must teach this heartless man a lesson! He has truly hurt our pride!"

Leng Ping still stared blankly at Jiang Tiantao's horse, which had disappeared into the darkness, and said resentfully, "I really don't understand this young hero Wei. Why is he so afraid of us?"

Huangfu Xiang snorted and immediately said indignantly, "What young hero Wei? I say he is Jiang Tiantao, the young master of Jiugong Fortress!"

Leng Ping's phoenix eyes lit up, and she exclaimed softly! "Really?"

Huangfu Xiang asked with surprise. Seeing Leng Ping's delighted expression, Huangfu Xiang suddenly felt a pang of shame and a sudden surge of jealousy. She quickly changed her tune, saying, "But the messenger from Jiugong Fort said he is the new son-in-law of Miss Wang Yanling, the man who injured Li Bashan with a single palm strike!"

Upon hearing Wang Yanling's name, Leng Ping's delight vanished, replaced by a somber and resentful expression. Huangfu Xiang felt a pang of pity and immediately said, "Miss Leng, let's go to Jiugong Fort together. We're not afraid we won't find out his identity!"

Leng Ping shook her head resentfully, gave a bitter smile, and said sadly, "It's better not to go. Even if he really is Jiang Tiantao, we'll only be making a fool of ourselves. Everyone knows that before Wang Yanling was even born, the Shadowless Heroine had already betrothed her to Jiang Tiantao." With that, she sadly turned her horse around and rode north through the dense forest.

Upon hearing this, Huangfu Xiang's heart ached. Thinking of the letter the fortress guard Jing Delu had given Jiang Tiantao, addressed as "cousin," her eyes filled with tears. She remembered her father, the Jade Fan Scholar Huangfu Yang, describing Jiang Tiantao to her when he returned from Xiangyang—so handsome, so composed and polite. Now, this mysterious Representative Wei, shrouded in secrecy and unpredictable, if he really was Jiang Tiantao, then her father, who considered himself an old hand in the world, had truly misjudged him.

Huangfu Xiang sat on her horse, her phoenix eyes filled with tears, staring blankly at the dark night sky. She hoped that Representative Wei was just Representative Wei, and not Jiang Tiantao. But assuming Representative Wei was indeed Jiang Tiantao, the young master of Jiugongbao, she vowed to be his enemy at every turn, making sure he never got what he wanted. Not only had he disregarded the three sisters, but he had practically made a fool of everyone in the "Three Hairpins Gang," especially shattering her pride! Thinking of Representative Wei's attitude towards her, she was suddenly startled, her delicate body trembled, and she could no longer hold back her tears, sobbing against the saddle. She knew that Representative Wei, whether Jiang Tiantao or not, must hate her arrogance and contempt.

Indeed, Jiang Tiantao, urging his horse forward, was secretly furious at Yinchai's willfulness and somewhat unreasonable behavior. He still clearly remembered the Qi-Lu Twin Heroes saying that Huangfu Xiang was the gentler one; perhaps that was just her reserve in front of her elders, because he had never seen any gentleness in Huangfu Xiang. He passed through several villages and towns, and only after discovering that Huangfu Xiang and Leng Ping had indeed stopped chasing them did he gradually slow his horse down. As his emotions gradually calmed, he suddenly thought of Jing Delu, the fortress guard. Of course, he didn't need to worry about Jing Delu's safety, because the Three Beauties Gang would never make things difficult for a messenger. It was just that he hadn't asked what had happened in the fortress, which kept him uneasy.

He assumed that since Wang Yanling had sent Jing Delu to deliver the message, she must have given him some instructions in person. Lost in thought, he kept turning back, hoping for a miracle, but all he saw was darkness. Then he thought of Leng Ping, the chivalrous woman hiding in the brothel, who must have a mysterious connection to the Three Beauties Gang. He didn't intend to avoid Leng Ping, but her presence with Yinchai made it impossible for him to stop and explain to her. Moreover, her true identity had been revealed, making him suspect that the mysterious woman who led him into the Three Beauties Gang that night was Leng Ping. Now, Leng Ping hadn't pursued him, and he couldn't contact her. This mystery would have to wait for the future to reveal itself. Perhaps he would never meet Leng Ping again, and this matter would remain a mystery forever. Thinking of the repeated setbacks suffered by Yinchai, he was certain she would not give up so easily. To prepare for her to send messages to her branch headquarters, he obstructed her at every turn. Therefore, he decided to continue along the country roads.

For several days, he traveled without stopping, rarely resting due to his concern for his elderly father and cousin's safety. At noon that day, the blue sky stretched endlessly, and the majestic mountains and streams, including the Mufu Mountains stretching for hundreds of miles, were already in sight. For days, Jiang Tiantao's heart had never been at peace. Now, his anxiety intensified; he wished he could fly back to Jiugongbao.

As the sun moved westward, and Xiaoqing raced along, the Mufu Mountains loomed before him. The rugged and towering Xizhou Peak, piercing the clouds, was now clearly visible, with only a few wispy clouds floating between its peaks. Gazing at the verdant summit of Xizhou Peak, Jiang Tiantao's heart had already flown to the Begonia Cave. He longed to meet his mentor, the Fairy Begonia, and he also yearned to see the pure, serene, and beautiful Sister Xue, whose ethereal grace was like that of a fairy. He imagined his mentor meditating in a cave, refining elixirs, while Sister Xue monitored the fire or practiced her swordsmanship outside.

In his mind's eye, Xiao Qing let out a joyful neigh. Jiang Tiantao looked around and realized they were not far from the foot of the mountain. Although Xiao Qing was drenched in sweat, Ma Yuan showed no signs of slowing down, galloping up the wide mountain path specially built by Jiugongbao, crossing the foothills strewn with strange rocks, heading straight for the mountain pass. The hooves pounded, rapid as a sudden downpour, echoing across the valleys and peaks, sounding like ten thousand horses galloping at once.

Sitting on his horse, Jiang Tiantao looked around. On both sides of the mountain path, ancient pines blocked out the sun, islands seemed to leap into the air, and a cool mountain breeze blew gently against his face, clearing his mind, which had been clouded by anxiety. Crossing two deep valleys and ridges, woodcutters wielded axes, hunters chased rabbits, and the sound of chanting emanated from a temple nestled among pines and bamboos. The scenery of Mufu Mountain was as beautiful as ever, the atmosphere as tranquil as ever, but Jiang Tiantao was more anxious and agitated than ever before.

He still clearly remembered the day his cousin, Wang Yanling, held her marriage contest; the mountains were just as peaceful then, but suddenly a thunderous roar erupted, nearly making him faint. Now, the mountains were just like that day, which intensified his anxiety and agitation. He felt a lump in his throat, his breath suffocating, but the pent-up frustration in his chest desperately needed to be released. Especially thinking of the vicious Poisonous Lady, his anger flared instantly. Sitting on his galloping horse, his brows furrowed, he raised his head and let out a long, mournful howl. The howl soared to the heavens, filled with fury and tragic grandeur. The long, drawn-out whistle echoed throughout the mountain, like thunder, resounding from the peaks. On Bee Ridge, birds took flight in fright, circling and cacophonizing their cries. In despair, beasts trembled, fleeing in panic, letting out terrified roars.

Jiang Tiantao, having finished his whistle, was now pale-faced, his sword-like eyebrows sharply arched, his starry eyes flashing with cold light. The pent-up frustration, anger, and anxiety in his chest were all released into the sky with the whistle. He was no longer far from the narrow valley entrance outside Jiugong Fortress, but the echoing sound still lingered in the air. Reaching the valley entrance, Jiang Tiantao's excitement intensified. He spurred his horse, Xiao Qing, and with a furious neigh, charged forward at breakneck speed.

As Jiang Tiantao entered the valley, the first thing that caught his eye was the Zhaixing Tower, towering above the dense forest and seemingly suspended in mid-air. Seeing the tower was like a prodigal son, long away from home, suddenly hearing of a family tragedy and rushing back, his heart filled with fear and unease, yet also with grief and sorrow. Little Qing, covered in sweat and breathing heavily, seemed to know it had reached its destination. With a joyful neigh, it charged into the dense forest, its hooves thundering like a torrential downpour, creating a gust of wind, and galloping like lightning towards the drawbridge beneath the fortress gate. The two rows of strong fortress guards standing beneath the towering gate rushed to the drawbridge to investigate. They saw Jiang Tiantao, his face filled with panic and sweat beading on his forehead, his right hand gripping the saddle, leaping off his horse and landing on the bridge.

The fortress guards, seeing this, were all stunned, unable to comprehend what had happened outside. Jiang Tiantao seemed oblivious to the group of fortified soldiers who rushed onto the bridge, all standing frozen in place. He hurried towards the fortress gate. At the same time, he pointed at Xiao Qing, who was spinning in front of the bridge, and urgently ordered the soldiers, "Take Xiao Qing into the stable!"

The first two soldiers hesitated for a moment, then loudly replied, "Yes, sir!" and ran towards Xiao Qing. The remaining dozen or so soldiers stood at attention, bowing slightly. One of the burly soldiers, seemingly the leader, said respectfully, slightly confused, "Chief Wei has returned."

Upon hearing this, Jiang Tiantao trembled violently, his face changing instantly as if struck by lightning. His mind cleared immediately. Only then did he realize that he was Wei's representative sent to Dongliang Mountain, not the young fortress master Jiang Tiantao. He let out a soft "Ah!" and froze.

Upon seeing him, the burly guard immediately asked with concern, "Chief Wei, what happened?"

Jiang Tiantao quickly composed himself, suppressing his grief and the tears that were almost rolling down his face, and hurriedly shook his head, saying, "Ah, nothing, nothing!" He then continued walking forward. Just as he

took a step, his bright eyes suddenly lit up. He immediately remembered his cousin Wang Yanling's letter, and thus, he quickly stopped, turned to the guards, and asked with concern, "Has Jing Delu returned?"

The guards, upon hearing this, suddenly realized that Jiang Tiantao's panic was because of Jing Delu, and thus said in unison, "General Jing has returned and just went in!"

Jiang Tiantao nodded deliberately and hurried into the fortress. Looking around, he saw that the high steps of the grand hall below the Star-Picking Tower were already filled with people. Because he was still far away, he couldn't see their faces clearly, but based on their clothing, he determined that they were his father Jiang Haohai, the Qi-Lu Twin Heroes, Ma Yunshan, and Little Li Guang, among others. Judging from the composure of the guards under his command, Jiang Tiantao concluded that nothing major had happened in the fortress. Then, seeing his father and the others standing unharmed in front of the hall, he couldn't understand why his cousin, Wang Yanling, had sent someone to deliver the message.

In a flash, he saw his father, Jiang Haohai, standing on the highest stone step, stroking his silver beard, a broad smile on his face, looking very happy. Beside him stood his cousin, Wang Yanling, her hair piled high, adorned with jade pendants, dressed in a yellow velvet robe, her beauty resembling that of the Moon Goddess Chang'e. He noticed that Wang Yanling was supporting her father, her cherry lips blooming in a smile, her phoenix eyes sparkling, her delicate face radiating excitement. Ma Yunshan, Ning Daotong, Huang, Xie, and Chen, along with the Qi-Lu Twin Heroes, Little Li Guang, and others, all stood excitedly smiling below the steps.

Jiang Tiantao was utterly puzzled. It seemed everyone was welcoming him, but he didn't know how they knew he would return so close to Jing Delu. His steps quickened unconsciously. Just as he reached the edge of the courtyard before the grand hall, Ma Yunshan, with his frosty eyebrows, silver beard, and purple robes, was the first to laugh heartily. At the same time, leading the Qi-Lu Twin Heroes, Ning Daotong, and others, they hurried over to greet him.

Upon seeing him, Jiang Tiantao quickly quickened his pace, repeatedly cupping his hands in a smile. Before he could even utter a humble word, Ma Yunshan, the "Supreme Shield Shakes the Nine Provinces," loudly proclaimed, "The moment I heard that powerful, resounding roar, I knew it was you, Young Master, returning!"

The Qi-Lu Old Hero, Xie Gan'en, and the others also laughed loudly, saying, "Young Master, Zhao Dong Liangshan has truly had a hard time."

Jiang Tiantao was stunned; for a moment, he thought he was dreaming. The maids in the grand hall craned their necks to look outside, while the guards on both sides of the hall stood respectfully with their hands at their sides, their expressions filled with astonishment.

As Wang Yanling helped Old Master Jiang down the hall steps, her beautiful face blossomed with joy, tears welling in her bright phoenix eyes. Her voice trembled with emotion as she said, "Cousin, come quickly and pay your respects to Uncle..."

Jiang Tiantao regained his composure, realizing his identity had been revealed. In that instant, it was as if he had been adrift at sea and suddenly boarded a large ship. The grievances he had suppressed for so many years instantly transformed into a torrent of tears. He rushed forward a few steps, cried out in heartbreaking grief, "Father!" and immediately knelt down. Upon seeing this, Wang Yanling also couldn't help but cover her face and weep.

Ma Yunshan and the others, who had been smiling broadly, immediately fell silent, though a forced smile remained on their faces to ease the somber atmosphere.

Old Master Jiang, his face flushed and his long, silver beard bristling, shed tears, a sorrowful smile on his face, and sighed with shame, "My poor child, I'm sorry for you, and for your deceased mother!"

Jiang Tiantao turned and prostrated himself on the ground, weeping even more bitterly. Old Master Jiang shed two tears, reached out and supported Jiang Tiantao's left arm, and said sadly, "Child, don't cry, get up, I still have something to ask you!"

Jiang Tiantao, who was prostrate on the ground weeping, had no choice but to kowtow and stand up after his father's help. Upon seeing this, Ma Yunshan and the others laughed heartily and said, "Today, the young master is enjoying a joyous reunion with his family, being reborn under the old master's wing. This is a great joy for our fortress. The banquet in the hall is already prepared. We, your humble servants, will offer three cups to the old master and the young master to express our congratulations."

Upon hearing this, the old master Jiang stroked his beard and laughed heartily, then said in a grand manner, "I haven't been drunk for ten years. Today, I will enjoy myself to the fullest with you all, and we won't stop until we're drunk!"

Ma Yunshan and the "Shandong Twin Heroes" and the others responded with cheerful laughter, and escorted the old master Jiang and Jiang Tiantao up the steps into the hall. Supporting Old Master Jiang, Wang Yanling seized the opportunity to say, "Uncle, now that my cousin has returned, we should inform the entire fortress immediately, so that all the brothers know..."

Before Wang Yanling could finish, Old Master Jiang quickly interrupted, "Good, good, good! Tonight, the entire fortress will have a grand feast, and everyone will have a share."

Ma Yunshan, as the steward, immediately chimed in, "This humble servant has already made the arrangements and sent people to inform the left and right courtyards and the inner and outer fortresses."

Old Master Jiang approvingly said, "Everything is up to Brother Ma."

Entering the grand hall, the lights were dazzling, and indeed, several tables of sumptuous food and drink had been set up, still in the "eight" shape, but with only one long table in the center, the others diagonally on both sides. Amidst laughter, Old Master Jiang sat alone at the head of the table in the center, with Wang Yanling respectfully accompanying him at his side. Jiang Tiantao, Ma Yunshan, the Qi-Lu Twin Heroes, Little Li Guang, and others then took their seats in order.

A group of maids immediately filled the wine cups. Jiang Tiantao's mood calmed down, and he realized that Upturned Nose and Poisonous Woman were gone. Just as he was about to ask them respectfully, Wang Yanling's personal maid, Xiao Cuihua, and three others led a group of maids in the hall to kneel and congratulate Old Master Jiang.

Old Master Jiang was overjoyed and bursting with pride. He immediately smiled and said, "Quickly pay your respects to your young master!"

Xiao Cuihua and the others turned around and bowed, shouting in unison, "Greetings, young master!"

Jiang Tiantao saw the clever Xiao Cuihua, her eyes sparkling, her eyebrows beaming with joy, and her face barely concealing a smile. He knew they were also happy that his true identity had been revealed, so he gave a slight bow in return.

Wang Yanling was not only happy that Jiang Tiantao's true identity had been clarified, but she was also excited about her own lifelong happiness and the upcoming wedding day. Seeing Jiang Tiantao's handsome appearance, his brows radiating heroic spirit, and the tear stains still clinging to his starry eyes, she knew he couldn't say anything. A thought struck her, and she said in a clear, sweet voice to Xiao Cuihua and the others, "You will all go to the inner courtyard to receive your rewards shortly!"

The mischievous Xiao Shuixian and the clever Xiao Cuihua, as they rose from their bows, simultaneously cried out in sweet voices, "Thank you, Young Madam!"

The other maids also respectfully cried out, "Thank you, Young Madam!"

Upon hearing this, Wang Yanling blushed deeply, her face turning crimson . Although her cheeks were flushed, she was secretly delighted, but she couldn't reprimand Xiao Cuihua and the others in public.

Old Master Jiang was already laughing heartily, glancing at his son's slightly flushed face with his tiger-like eyes. He raised his cup, facing Ma Yunshan and the Qi-Lu Twin Heroes, and said excitedly, "Brothers, please drink this cup."

Ma Yunshan and the others raised their cups simultaneously. They shouted respectfully, "We, your humble servants, should first pay our respects to the old and young masters of the fortress!" With that, they downed their drinks and laughed heartily.

Just then, a cacophony of cheers and shouts arose outside the hall. Jiang Tiantao looked in the direction of the sound and saw no fewer than two hundred men, women, children, and able-bodied fortress guards, all beaming with joy and their eyes gleaming, surging towards the hall like a tidal wave.

A blue-clad guard who had been guarding outside the hall rushed into the shop, faced the old heroes Jiang, bowed with his sword in hand, and reported loudly, "Reporting to the old master, the officers, brothers, and their families from both the left and right courtyards of the outer fortress have come to congratulate you."

Old Master Jiang was very pleased, laughed heartily, and said cheerfully, "Let them all in!"

As soon as he finished speaking, a group of people surged into the hall, knelt down, and shouted in unison, "Congratulations, old master!" The old master humbly rose from his chair, clasped his hands in return, and thanked them with a smile.

Jiang Tiantao, Wang Yanling, Ma Yunshan, and others also stood up. Jiang Tiantao, excited and smiling, repeatedly returned the greeting with clasped hands. Immediately afterward, a chorus of sweet voices and the sounds of women and old women drifted in from outside the hall. The maids, servants, and old nannies from the inner fortress had arrived. Laughter and congratulations filled the hall, with everyone jostling and pushing to catch a glimpse of the young fortress lord, whom the Poisonous Lady had abandoned on the moored boat.

The older women, seeing the handsome Jiang Tiantao, unanimously praised him as a young prodigy. The old women of the inner fortress, seeing the dashing Jiang Tiantao, all said he resembled the Jade Maiden Jiang, while the servants, seeing Jiang Tiantao's resemblance to Zidu, all envied Wang Yanling's good fortune. In an instant, the entire hall was filled with voices, laughter, and chatter. Maids pointed and pointed, servants gossiped, and everyone was talking about Jiang Tiantao. A great uproar ensued until Ma Yunshan loudly announced that everyone should go and claim their reward. Only then did the crowd cheer and disperse.

Once everyone had left, Old Master Jiang and Ma Yunshan and the others shared another drink. Seeing the joyful atmosphere, Wang Yanling smiled at Jiang Tiantao, who was beaming with mixed emotions of joy and sorrow, and said, "Cousin, now you can tell the elders how Senior Fairy Haitang rescued you."

Because he was in the midst of excitement, Jiang Tiantao didn't seem overly saddened. He simply stopped smiling, faced Ma Yunshan and the others, and said in a somber voice, "Two years ago, my master, Fairy Haitang, revealed the story of how she took me as her disciple..."

Eighteen years ago, on a dark and windy night when the clouds shrouded the peaks, all was silent on Xizhou Peak except for the rustling of the pines. My master, Fairy Haitang, was sitting cross-legged in front of her cave when she suddenly heard the faint cry of an infant. Following the sound, she found two figures standing in a grove of trees on the peak. My master held her breath and walked a short distance away. She saw that it was a man and a woman, and the crying infant was in the woman's arms. The man was wearing a yellow silk robe and had a pointed mouth and cheeks. The woman was dressed in a black silk outfit and had a foxy face. It was clear at a glance that neither of them were loyal or righteous..."

At this point, Ma Yunshan, the Qi Lu Twin Heroes, Sai Bianque, and the others, who had been listening intently, exchanged knowing glances and recognized the couple as Poisonous Lady and Min Wu Kui.

Jiang Tiantao continued, "Just then, from the pine forest not far away, a roar of a hungry tiger suddenly came. The two people glanced at the pine forest, dropped the infant, and fled in panic." "My master flew over, picked up the baby, and examined him. He found that the baby's appearance was completely different from that of the two men and women he had just seen, thus concluding that the baby was not their biological child. He also noticed two tiny red birthmarks, each the size of a grain of rice, between the baby's eyebrows..."

Jiang Tiantao said, unconsciously pointing to his own sword-like eyebrows. Upon hearing this, everyone's gaze turned to Jiang Tiantao's brow, where they indeed found two tiny red birthmarks, though they were not easily noticeable.

Rui Ding'an, an expert in "the method of physiognomy," immediately turned to Old Master Jiang and explained solemnly, "Reporting to Old Master Jiang, the two red birthmarks between the young master's eyebrows, according to physiognomy books..." "It's called 'Hidden Pearl in the Crouching Dragon.' A single dragon hiding a pearl signifies becoming a general or minister, while two dragons hiding a pearl signify dominating all the feudal lords. If the young master of the fortress could enter the court to assist in governance, he would surely bring glory to his ancestors and glorify his family..."

Talking about entering the court to assist in governance and bringing glory to one's ancestors in front of martial arts heroes who loved martial arts and regarded fame and fortune as dirt was no different from a three-year-old child telling a joke. Therefore, before Rui Ding'an could finish speaking, the whole hall immediately erupted in a hearty laugh, which also brightened the gradually dimming atmosphere.

Jiang Tiantao was afraid that Rui Ding'an would be embarrassed, so as soon as the laughter subsided, he immediately continued: "At that time, my master determined that there must be something fishy about this. For the baby's safety, my master took the baby to Tongcheng overnight to find a wet nurse." Afterwards, my master made several nighttime raids on this fortress. On the last raid, he discovered that the man and woman who abandoned the baby on the peak that night were none other than the Poisonous Lady of this fortress and the steward, Min Wu Kui. At that time, my master was still unaware of their intentions and purpose in abandoning the baby on the peak..."

Upon hearing this, Old Master Jiang stroked his beard and sighed deeply, interjecting sadly, "It is a misfortune for our family to produce such a cruel and wicked servant. I am filled with remorse and deeply ashamed before my ancestors."

Seeing his father's remorse and self-reproach, Jiang Tiantao felt a pang of sadness and immediately stopped speaking. Ma Yunshan and the others, in an attempt to ease the tension, deliberately raised their voices and asked, "Young Master, what happened next?"

Old Master Jiang also noticed that Jiang Tiantao had stopped speaking and immediately said peacefully, "Tao'er, continue your story." Jiang Tiantao respectfully replied, "

Yes," and continued, looking at Ma Yunshan, Sai Bianque, the Qi-Lu Twin Heroes, Jin Tou'ao, and the others, "A year later, my master brought me back from Tongcheng. He massaged my bones daily with internal energy and bathed me with medicinal water. He began teaching me martial arts when I was three years old. When I was five, my master took in another female disciple, the white-robed youth who challenged him on stage a month ago, Senior Sister Xue."

Upon hearing this, Ma Yunshan and the others suddenly understood. Although they had noticed many similarities in the sword techniques of Jiang Tiantao and his companion, they hadn't realized that the white-robed youth was a girl in disguise. Ma Yunshan and the others, who considered themselves seasoned veterans, laughed self-deprecatingly, but a blush crept onto their faces.

Old Master Jiang also blushed slightly and smiled kindly, saying, "You naughty children are becoming more and more unruly and ignorant of the rules." Hearing his father's loving and kind rebuke, Jiang Tiantao felt immense satisfaction and continued, "

Eleven years later, one noon, my master accidentally discovered Min Wu Kui, accompanied by two maids, and a finely dressed boy with features strikingly similar to the Poisonous Lady, playing outside the fortress. When the boy, with his upturned nostrils and captivating eyes, chased after a small, colorful bird, the two maids cried out in unison, 'Young Master of the Fortress!' From that moment on, my master repeatedly infiltrated the fortress at night, finally uncovering this grand conspiracy of deceiving the heavens and replacing the master. Because I was young and lacked concrete evidence, my master only revealed my background and experiences two years ago, instructing me to be extra careful.

At that time, although I had not yet entered the martial world, I had already mastered my master's true teachings. Every day after practicing martial arts, I would come to the foot of the peak to spy and seize opportunities to enter the fortress." One evening seven or eight months ago, I had just sneaked into the large garden of the back fort when my cousin and Xiao Cuihua discovered me and surrounded me. The moment my cousin saw me, her expression changed drastically, and she blurted out that my name was Jiang Tiantao. After pointing out a distinctive feature between my eyebrows, she immediately went to see my master, Fairy Haitang. During their conversation, they uncovered the evil conspiracy of Steward Min Wu Kui and the Poisonous Lady.

Ma Yunshan, the Qi Lu Twin Heroes, Sai Bian Que, and others all shook their heads, lamenting the Poisonous Lady and Min Wu Kui's sinister ruthlessness and audacity. At this point, Jiang Tiantao, his chest pounding with anger, trembled and exclaimed excitedly, "If you seniors wish to know more clearly, you might bring up the Poisonous Lady, Zhang Lihua, and ask her in detail!" Upon hearing this, Old Master Jiang

sighed indignantly. A hint of regret flashed across Wang Yanling's beautiful face. Ma Yunshan and the others all looked at Old Master Jiang Haohai. Jiang Tiantao, who had assumed the Poisonous Lady was imprisoned in the back, realized something was wrong when he saw everyone's expressions. He widened his eyes and looked at Wang Yanling with a questioning gaze. Then,

seeing Old Master Jiang, he said regretfully, "That widow Qi was guilty; she had hidden horses outside the fortress long ago, but she and her son escaped a few days ago after hearing the news."

Jiang Tiantao was both shocked and angry, but seeing Wang Yanling's silence and lack of immediate explanation, he knew there was something inconvenient to say openly. He could only ask urgently, "After discovering this, did you send anyone to pursue them?" Upon hearing this question, the four elders—Jin Tou Ao Ning Daotong, Sai Bian Que Xie Gan En, Rui Anding, and Chen Zhenze—rose simultaneously and said, "

We four were ordered by the old fortress master to escort the pursuer to the outside of the mountain." After a pause, Rui Anding and Xie Gan En continued, "We two, along with Brothers Chen and Ning, split up and headed west. When we reached the western foothills, we encountered two woodcutters from this mountain area. They said that two hours ago, they saw the Poisonous Lady and the Upturned Nose of this fortress, each riding a fast horse, galloping out of the mountain pass as if heading towards Xiangyin."

Jiang Tiantao and Xie Gan En stood respectfully in response, and also hurriedly rose and bowed, saying, "Please sit down and talk, seniors..."

The old fortress master Jiang also hurriedly interjected, "From now on, when speaking with Tao'er, you brothers need not stand on ceremony. "

Ning Daotong and the other three responded in unison and sat down. Jiang Tiantao continued anxiously, "Since the Poisonous Lady has escaped, there's no need to rush to catch her. However, what if she has most of the embroidered clothes that my late mother made?" Jin

Jianying, dressed in a moon-white long robe, immediately said reassuringly, "Young Master, don't worry. As long as we are determined, we are not afraid of not being able to catch the Poisonous Lady."

Jiang Tiantao asked anxiously again, "Where should we look? Please give us your guidance, Senior."

Jin Jianying said solemnly without hesitation, "Of course, we should start by investigating among those who have been close to the Min Wu Kui couple."

Jiang Tiantao's eyes lit up with hope, "Senior Jin, do you know who has been closest to the Min Wu Kui couple?" Jin Jianying pondered for a moment and said, "

As far as I know, there's the Smiling Tiger of Jiuyi Mountain in Hunan, the One-Armed Amitabha of Jin Fuchu in Sichuan, and the Yin-Yang Sheng of Leigong Ridge in Guizhou, among others..."

The old镖头 Ning Daotong interjected, "Based on my deduction, the Poisonous Lady's escape this time will surely lead her far away to seek refuge with her sworn sister, 'Savage Flower Fragrant Concubine'..."

Jiang Tiantao was startled. Birds of a feather flock together! He hadn't expected that the Savage Flower Fragrant Concubine of Chang Le Palace in Huaping Mountain, Yunnan, was actually the Poisonous Lady's sworn sister. Just as he was about to recount his encounter with the Savage Flower Fragrant Concubine and how he had seized her Five-Step Soul-Severing Scarf, which was more precious than life itself, he suddenly heard Rui Ding'an say dismissively, "The Lord of Dragon Palace Lake, the Water Demon Zhang Donghua, is the Poisonous Lady's own sister. Logically, she should be more likely to have fled to Dragon Palace Lake."

Thinking of how the Poisonous Lady galloped out of the West Pass, Little Li Guang instinctively said, "But the Poisonous Lady fled in the direction of Xiangyin!"

Rui Anding couldn't help but laugh and said, "The Poisonous Lady is resourceful and cunning. How do you know, Brother Zhong, that she wasn't using a feint attack?"

Little Li Guang was so embarrassed that he was speechless. Suddenly, Jin Jianying frowned and said worriedly, "If Poisonous Lady really went to Dragon Palace Lake, things will become even more troublesome."

Jiang Tiantao asked in confusion, "Why, Senior?"

Jin Jianying explained seriously, "Zhang Lihua, the Water Demon, has long been recruited by the Three Beauties Gang and appointed as the Dragon Palace Lake branch leader. If our fort goes to demand her, a conflict is inevitable, and the Three Beauties Gang will definitely be her backer..."

Before Jin Jianying could finish speaking, the worldly-wise Ma Yunshan, who seemed to have understood something, laughed heartily, then said with a meaningful smile, "What's so difficult about that? It all depends on whether the young fortress master succeeds in his visit." Upon

hearing this, everyone suddenly understood and looked at Jiang Tiantao. In particular, Wang Yanling, who had been frowning and regretting, immediately perked up and paid special attention. Now that he was here, Jiang Tiantao dared not fabricate a story in front of his father. He could only recount how he had helped the hooded woman on the Songtao Road, and how he had met the Jade Fan Scholar at Xiangjiang Tower. It wasn't until the Rainbow Dragon Girl came to provoke him and knocked down his upturned nose that he deduced the hooded woman he had met that night might be Xiao Xiangzhen. Later, the chase outside the fortress, the flying arrow carrying a poem, and the unauthorized ascent of the Star-Picking Tower confirmed that the hooded woman was indeed the Rainbow Dragon Girl.

Jiang Tiantao recounted this in one breath, and Ma Yunshan and the others all said it was ingenious and interesting. Even the old fortress master Jiang couldn't help but stroke his beard and laugh. Only Little Li Guang, who had been fighting for a long time without success, and Chen Zhenze, whose weapons had been knocked away by the "Rainbow Dragon Girl's" sword, were somewhat ashamed and embarrassed. Wang Yanling already knew about it, and then she thought that Jiang Tiantao was going to Dongliang Mountain this time, and the two of them would inevitably have a tender moment. With this thought in mind, she couldn't help but make a face at Jiang Tiantao.

Jiang Tiantao naturally saw Wang Yanling's funny face and understood her meaning, causing his handsome face to blush. When Jiang Tiantao recounted climbing the tower to diagnose a patient's pulse and, imitating Bian Que, prescribing a cooling medicine, everyone in the hall burst into cheerful laughter that lasted continuously. Although Jiang Tiantao told the whole story, he omitted the details of his nighttime exploration of the back mountain, mistakenly climbing the boudoir, suspecting the mysterious woman was Leng Ping, returning the purple jade hairpin, and reciting love poems.

Finally, upon hearing of the suspicions surrounding Huangfu Xiang and the others, as well as the matter of the flying horse pursuit, Old Master Jiang immediately reassured Jiang Tiantao, "You need not worry about that. Tomorrow, I will send someone with a document exposing the crimes of Poisonous Lady and Min Wu Kui to distribute to the major sects and the Three Hairpins Gang, as well as to Jade Fan Scholar Huangfu Yang and others. After hearing about this heinous and treacherous plot, they will naturally forgive you."

Jiang Tiantao, relieved, continued recounting his encounter with the Fragrant Concubine of the Wild Flower Palace in Chang Le Palace, Hua Ping Mountain, Yunnan Province, before the giant, dense forest. Upon hearing this, everyone gasped in surprise, their expressions changing instantly.

Ma Yunshan said anxiously, "This vile woman has returned to the Central Plains; I wonder how many young and strong men she will destroy this time."

Jiang Tiantao smiled faintly and said in a broad voice, "Senior Ma, there's no need to worry. Most of her assistants and accomplices have been killed by Huangfu Xiang. At the same time, I have also taken away the Five-Step Soul-Severing Scarf that she used to harm people." As he spoke, he reached into his robes, and a flash of red light revealed a large, lid-sized red gauze scarf.

Upon seeing this, Ma Yunshan and the others' expressions changed drastically. They shouted and rose from their seats, all pointing in shock at the red scarf in Jiang Tiantao's hand, and cried out in alarm, "Young Master, quickly throw the red scarf on the ground! Anyone who touches it will lose all their martial arts skills!"

Jiang Tiantao laughed and said, "Although the Five-Step Soul-Severing Scarf of the Fragrant Concubine is extremely poisonous, if you don't channel your true energy into it, it's just like an ordinary gauze scarf." As he spoke, he actually touched the Soul-Severing Scarf to his face.

Upon seeing this, Ma Yunshan and the others were stunned. Then, their faces flushed red, and they all sat back down, extremely embarrassed. Jiang Tiantao also casually put the red handkerchief into his robes. Old Master Jiang, who had been sitting at the end of the table, knew that the Soul-Severing Handkerchief had other uses. He mistakenly assumed that Jiang Tiantao had taken the handkerchief after being captured. Therefore, he frowned and asked with concern, "Tao'er, how did you snatch the Soul-Severing Handkerchief from the Fragrant Concubine of the Barbarian Flower?"

Jiang Tiantao immediately recounted how he leaped up and covered his head with the handkerchief. Upon hearing this, not only were Ma Yunshan and the others filled with doubt, but even the experienced Old Master Jiang didn't believe it. Jiang Tiantao immediately understood and recounted how he had mistakenly eaten three Vermilion Immortal Fruits at the Blind Nun Jin Fu's place on Mount Fanjing.

Everyone suddenly realized that Jiang Tiantao now possessed an immunity to all poisons. Old Master Jiang, still somewhat uneasy, asked, "How do you know that the Soul-Severing Scarf won't work unless you channel your true energy into it?"

Jiang Tiantao hurriedly replied respectfully, "It was Miss Huangfu Xiang who warned me of that, so I know."

Wang Yanling, who had been sitting motionless in her chair, couldn't help but interject upon hearing the name Huangfu Xiang, "Huangfu Xiang caught up with you?"

Jiang Tiantao explained, "They caught up with you, entangled the Fragrant Concubine Manhua, and that's how you managed to escape."

One spoke without thinking, but the other listened intently. Upon hearing the word "they," Wang Yanling concluded that more than one person had caught up with Jiang Tiantao, and thus immediately asked in a deep voice, "Who else was there?"

Jiang Tiantao's heart skipped a beat, but he felt that he couldn't explain Leng Ping's matter in public, so he vaguely replied, "It seems to be a female incense master brought by Huangfu Xiang!"

Upon hearing this, Old Master Jiang and Ma Yunshan mistakenly believed that Huangfu Xiang and the others had arrived in time, allowing Jiang Tiantao to escape the encirclement. Seeing the expressions on Ma Yunshan's and the others' faces, Jiang Tiantao smiled and said humorously, "When I saw Huangfu Xiang and the others chasing after us, I was indeed panicked. Fortunately, Huangfu Xiang hated the shamelessness of Manhua Xiangfei so much that she immediately drew her sword to help me. Therefore, she did not ask me about my true origins and background. In just a few exchanges, all the experts accompanying Chang Le Palace were killed. Huangfu Xiang and the others then attacked Manhua Xiangfei from both sides. Seeing that the opportunity was not to be missed, I thought, 'If I don't leave now, when will I?' So I quietly withdrew, mounted my horse, and rode away." Before he could finish speaking, Ma

Yunshan and the others burst into a hearty laugh. Just then, a figure flashed through the hall door, and a blue-clad, sword-wielding, flustered guard rushed in. Jiang Tiantao, sensing something amiss, immediately stopped speaking. The old fortress master and Ma Yunshan and the others also looked at the approaching guard.

The guard reached the table, faced the old fortress master Jiang, bowed, and stroked his sword, saying nervously, "Reporting to the old fortress master, there are people in the dense forest outside the fortress!" The

old fortress master Jiang and Ma Yunshan and the others simultaneously sighed and fell silent, seemingly analyzing the approaching people's tactics and intentions. Jiang Tiantao determined it was Yinchai Huangfuxiang and Leng Ping, and unconsciously asked urgently, "How many people did you find?"

The guard hesitated for a moment, then said hesitantly, "At least two."

The perceptive Wang Yanling smiled and said, "It's the female leader of the Three Hairpins Gang and that female incense master."

Although Jiang Tiantao felt that Wang Yanling was too arbitrary, he thought so too. Suddenly seeing Jin Jianying dressed in a yellow scholar's robe, he frowned and hesitated, saying, "I'm afraid it's not Huangfu Xiang..." Wang

Yanling said gently, "How do you know it's not Miss Huangfu, Senior Jin?"

Jin Jianying smiled faintly and said, "Huangfu Xiang is different from Rainbow Dragon Girl Xiao Xiangzhen. She is more gentle and considerate of the overall situation. She is also two years older than Xiao Xiangzhen, so I don't think she would be so willful." Wang

Yanling had heard the Qi-Lu Twin Heroes say that Yinchai was gentle, respectful to elders, and courteous. She thought to herself: if Huangfu Xiang truly respected her uncle's high status in the martial arts world, she wouldn't have come. With that thought in mind, she went to try to determine who the two people in the woods outside the fortress were. But Jiang Tiantao, who had seen and experienced it firsthand, had no confidence whatsoever. He was certain that the two people in the woods outside the fortress were most likely Yinchai Huangfu Xiang and Leng Ping.

Suddenly, Xiao Li Guang, sitting at the end of the table, raised his eyebrows and stood up abruptly. He faced Old Master Jiang and said respectfully, "Let me go out and take a look!"

Old Master Jiang immediately waved his hand amicably and said, "Brother Zhong, please sit down. We'll leave him alone for now!" Seeing that Old Master Jiang wouldn't allow it, Xiao Li Guang had no choice but to sit down.

Old Master Jiang then instructed the guards, "You only need to be careful and vigilant; do not fire arrows or question them." Upon hearing this, the guards bowed, stroked their swords, and loudly agreed before leaving the hall.

Once the guards were gone, Old Master Jiang said peacefully to Jiang Tiantao, "Tao'er, Jiji is going to talk to you."

Jiang Tiantao bowed respectfully and, to ease the tense atmosphere, immediately looked at Ma Yunshan and the others with a questioning gaze, and said seriously, "Esteemed seniors, do you know which of the older generation of martial arts figures was skilled in using the Heavenly Thunder Spear hidden weapon?"

Upon hearing this question, only Ma Yunshan frowned slightly, as if deep in thought; the others all looked blank, as if they had no idea that the Heavenly Thunder Spear existed. Turning his head, he saw that his father, Jiang Haohai, looked extremely pale and was staring at him anxiously as if about to ask something. He quickly asked, "Father, do you know this person?"

The old fortress lord Jiang nodded heavily, not answering but asking instead, "You saw him?" As he spoke, his right hand, which was stroking his beard, trembled slightly.

Ma Yunshan and the others, seeing this, knew something was amiss and all stared at the old fortress lord Jiang in astonishment. Jiang Tiantao, being exceptionally intelligent, knew that the person who used the Heavenly Thunder Spear as a hidden weapon was not only connected to Jiugong Fortress, but inextricably linked. At the same time, based on his father's somewhat disrespectful address, he deduced that the person who used the Heavenly Thunder Spear as a hidden weapon in the past must be an enemy of Jiugong Fortress.

With this thought in mind, he immediately said respectfully, "Tao'er unintentionally stumbled into his secluded cultivation place..."

Before he could finish speaking, a bead of cold sweat suddenly appeared on Old Master Jiang's forehead, and he hurriedly asked, "Can you tell me your real name and ancestral home?"

To avoid worrying his father, Jiang Tiantao quickly explained, "Tao'er only saw a pile of bones, not him in person."

Upon hearing "a pile of bones," Old Master Jiang let out a deep breath, and a bitter smile, a mixture of shock and despair, flashed across his pale face. Ma Yunshan and the others, all seasoned veterans with extensive experience, naturally knew that Old Master Jiang had suffered a false alarm. Therefore, they all remained silent, allowing Old Master Jiang's excessive shock to subside.

Old Master Jiang paused slightly, then asked with concern, "Tao'er, could you retrieve those Heavenly Thunder Beads?"

Jiang Tiantao knew the matter was of great importance and dared not tell the truth on the spot. He could only respectfully reply, "Tao'er found a dozen or so small, fiery red marbles in the small steel cauldron next to the pile of bones. When I flicked them with my hand, they all shattered. I picked up one of the more intact ones and saw three small golden characters on it that read 'Heavenly Thunder Beads,' so I determined it was a hidden weapon."

Old Master Jiang nodded slowly and said, "That's right, it's a hidden weapon, the most powerful hidden weapon in the world. Unfortunately, more than a hundred years has passed, which is too long..."

Sitting at the end of the table, the young and curious Xiao Li Guang suddenly stood up and respectfully said, "Old Master, could you tell us about the deeds of the old master who used the Heavenly Thunder Beads hidden weapon? We can hear it and broaden our knowledge."

Upon hearing this, Old Master Jiang slowly glanced at Xiao Li Guang and then slowly nodded in agreement. Ma Yunshan, the Qi Lu Twin Heroes, Ning Daotong, and others determined that this matter concerned the grudges of the elders of Jiugongbao. Fearing that it would be inconvenient for Old Master Jiang to speak of it, they all rose and said, "Old Master Jiang is troubled; let's discuss this another day..."

Old Master Jiang stared blankly out of the hall, slowly nodding, and said, "I should have said this long ago..."

Before he finished speaking, a figure flashed at the hall entrance, and the guard with the sword who had been there earlier rushed in, looking flustered. Just as the guard entered the hall, a series of urgent shouts and cries suddenly came from the distant fortress wall. Upon hearing this, Jiang Tiantao's expression changed drastically. In a flash, his blue figure was already outside the hall, leaping onto the roof and speeding towards the fortress wall from which the shouts had come.

Hearing the urgent shouts from the fortress wall, Jiang Laobao and Ma Yunshan, among others, rose from their seats and hurried towards the hall entrance. Facing the fortress guards rushing into the hall, they urgently asked, "Has someone broken into the fortress?"

The guards, bewildered, replied in panic, "I don't know."

Jin Tou Ao Ning Daotong immediately asked in a deep voice, "Then why have you come here?"

The guard hurriedly replied in panic, "I've come to report that there are horses neighing outside the valley."

Upon hearing this, Jin Jianxia could no longer contain himself and said urgently, "Let me go and see." With that, he and his second brother, Jin Jianying, leaped out of the hall and galloped towards the fortress wall from which the shouts had come.

Fearing that Jiang Tiantao might bully Huangfu Xiang, offend Yu Shan Xiushi, and incur a grudge with the Three Hairpins Gang, Old Master Jiang hurriedly said, "Let's go quickly too!"

As he spoke, he had already reached the outside of the hall. With a wave of his sleeve, his figure, like a giant crane, flew into the air and landed on the roof. Ma Yunshan and the others followed closely behind Old Master Jiang.
