Chapter Twenty-Five – Women and Children Fight to Protect Their Homeland, Twelve Women Risk Their Lives to Resist the Government Army.

Last time, Wang Ke and Shi Yunqing, after more than ten days of relentless attacks from the barbarian women, finally crossed the narrow path. Ahead lay the main road leading to Huanglong Cave, when suddenly a barbarian army blocked their way.
Wang Ke descended the mountain, mounted his warhorse, and rode alongside Shi Yunqing to investigate. They saw that the barbarian soldiers numbered only four or five hundred, all young barbarian women. Although their clothing was uniform in style and color, the newness and embroidery varied, indicating they wore everyday clothes. All the barbarian women carried bamboo crossbows in one hand and curved swords in the other, with rattan shields on their backs, ready for battle.
At the forefront of the barbarian ranks was a female general, no more than twenty-seven or twenty-eight years old, also dressed as a young woman, with a face as beautiful as a peach blossom in March. She rode a short-steed from the Southern Ridge, wielding a single-dragon shovel, and her banner bore the character "阚" (Kan).
Upon seeing each other, Wang Ke and Shi Yunqing rode forward. Wang Ke inquired, "Who is the female general over there? State your name."
The female general also bowed and replied, "I am Kan Caiyun from Nanling. Are you General Wang Ke and General Shi Yunqing?"
"Indeed."
"May I ask why you have invaded Nanling?" "
I have been ordered by the imperial court to annihilate Nanling. It is because Nanling disobeyed the imperial decree, resisted the heavenly army, and killed important officials of the court. Therefore, His Majesty has ordered us to annihilate the mountain. You must surrender quickly to avoid mutual destruction."
“General Wang, you are mistaken. As the saying goes, ‘I will not attack unless attacked.’ Our Nanling people number only eighty thousand; how can we defy the court without cause? This is all due to the emperor’s tyrannical rule, wanting to kill all my children and cut off our lineage. Though Nanling is weak, how can we endure such bullying? General Wang, if you have any conscience, you should petition your emperor, saying that Nanling is only seeking self-preservation and has no intention of rebellion, and ask him to retract his order so that both sides can live in peace. If you insist on your way, even if only one woman remains in Nanling, we will never allow ourselves to be bullied!”
Wang Ke thought to himself, “Since the emperor is coming …” "What use is my petition if you exterminate your clan?" He could only harden his face and say, "Kan Caiyun, stop uttering such disrespectful words. As the saying goes, 'When the ruler commands the subject to die, the subject must die.' How dare you, Nanling, defy the court for the sake of a few children? Listen to my good advice, lay down your weapons and surrender now, otherwise, when the army passes by, nothing will remain. Look behind me; that is your example." Wang Ke turned and pointed. Behind him, the flag-bearing team of several hundred men had half of them holding tall bamboo poles, each pole pierced with a naked female corpse through its vulva.
Kan Caiyun blushed upon seeing this and cursed, "You vile bastards, don't try to scare me with this! Sisters, today is the day we serve Nanling! Fire your arrows!"
At the command, hundreds of crossbows fired their arrows simultaneously.
Wang Ke and Shi Yunqing hurriedly used their weapons to deflect the bamboo arrows, sustaining wounds in the process. Dozens of government soldiers behind them were killed; the arrows were poisoned, and those struck would die instantly from the first stab.
Wang Ke quickly ordered his soldiers to retaliate with arrows. Although the government troops' bows were strong, the barbarian women were arrayed on the main road, occupying a wide front, while the government troops, confined to the side paths, could not effectively deploy their bows. After a brief exchange of fire, only about thirty barbarian women fell, while nearly a hundred government soldiers died from arrow wounds.
After a while, over two hundred government soldiers had been killed or wounded, but unfortunately, the barbarian women had run out of bamboo arrows. Seeing their opportunity, Wang Ke ordered, "Kill!" and charged into the barbarian formation on horseback, with Shi Yunqing close behind.
The barbarian women showed no fear, brandishing their curved swords and engaging the government troops in combat.
Wang Ke charged straight at Kan Caiyun. Shi Yunqing, seeing that they were both renowned generals, felt embarrassed to fight a female warrior alone, so he stood aside and watched Wang Ke and Kan Caiyun exchange blows.
Kan Caiyun was indeed no match for Wang Ke. After a few rounds, she turned her horse and entered a nearby grove of trees. Wang Ke saw that the grove was sparsely wooded, with only forty or fifty trees at most, all tall fir trees, and the trees stretched as far as the eye could see. Not fearing an ambush, he spurred his horse and chased after her into the grove.
Once inside, he realized the superior quality of the Nanling dwarf horses.
Kan Caiyun, relying on her small but agile mount, played hide-and-seek with Wang Ke. Although Wang Ke was skilled in martial arts, his horse was not adept at navigating the forest. After a while, Wang Ke found his horse cumbersome and dismounted to pursue on foot. While this made him much more agile, the lack of a mount diminished his martial arts skills. Kan Caiyun turned back and engaged Wang Ke in battle again. This time, the two were evenly matched, fighting for over thirty rounds without a clear winner.
Meanwhile, the barbarian women suffered greatly. Although they had all practiced martial arts since childhood, they were now married and their training had slowed, leaving them physically weak. Wang Ke and Shi Yunqing's troops, composed of their own trained elite soldiers, naturally had the upper hand. However,
the barbarian women resisted stubbornly, refusing to surrender, and finally fell one by one under the swords and spears of the government troops, their blood flowing like a river.
The two sides fought for over two hours. After suffering over two hundred casualties, the government troops finally wiped out the four or five hundred troops composed of barbarian widows, leaving their corpses scattered everywhere. Seeing her men wiped out, Kan Caiyun, with her remaining courage, fought with reckless abandon, abandoning defense and launching a frenzied attack, determined to kill Wang Ke in a life-for-life exchange. This forced Wang Ke into numerous openings.
Seeing this, Shi Yunqing, swallowing his pride, had no choice but to wield his shovel and join the battle from the forest.
Kan Caiyun and Wang Ke had already fought for dozens of rounds, and Kan Caiyun was exhausted. She was no match for Shi Yunqing. Moreover, Shi Yunqing also wielded a shovel and was very experienced. Kan Caiyun felt her martial arts skills were inadequate. In a moment of distraction, Shi Yunqing smashed her shovel handle, causing her to lose her grip on the shovel. She was left on her horse, empty-handed, trying to escape, but Shi Yunqing caught up with her and kicked her in the side, knocking her off her horse. Wang Ke stepped forward and caught her with both hands, preventing her from being seriously injured. However, Wang Ke swept her up in his arms and, despite her wild punches, refused to let go, capturing her alive.
The government troops rushed forward and seized and bound Kan Caiyun.
Wang Ke asked, "Kan Caiyun, what do you have to say now?"
"Wang Ke, don't think that capturing Kan Caiyun will make Nanling easy to conquer. Although Nanling is now only populated by women and children, they swear to never be slaughtered. Don't miscalculate."
It turned out that after Kan Caiyun and the other four female generals sacrificed their chastity to poison Cao Yunlong and Pang Qi, the people of Nanling knew that the imperial court would send troops again sooner or later, and the calamity of destroying their families and clans was imminent. Led by He Li, all the women of Nanling who could wield swords and arrows were armed. The older women were personally commanded by He Li and remained in the Bajiaoling Grand Garden, where the Barbarian King's residence was located. The younger women were led by twelve young female generals and assigned to guard various strategic locations. Everyone swore an oath to fight to the last man, never retreating a single step.
Kan Caiyun was ordered to guard the small path east of Huanglong Cave, along with her niece Kan Meitong.
Kan Caiyun had led several hundred men to guard the path for over ten days, but ultimately, outnumbered, she was captured.
Wang Ke, seeing her beauty, reminiscent of the Feng sisters, felt a surge of desire. Since she refused to surrender, he ordered his soldiers, "Strip this slut barefoot, and we'll all have our fun."
The soldiers were overjoyed and stripped Kan Caiyun of her clothes and boots, tying her to a tree with a rope.
Wang Ke, seeing her fair skin, her firm breasts, and the alluring tuft of black hair between her legs, couldn't resist unbuttoning his clothes and revealing his manhood.
Kan Caiyun blushed, her face filled with shame, but she neither struggled nor cursed, only coldly staring at Wang Ke without saying a word.
Wang Ke approached, grabbed one of her legs, and lifted her up, exposing her vulva. Just as he was about to rape her, Xiong Yunqing suddenly said from behind, "General Wang, wait!"
"What advice does General Shi have?"
"General Wang, this woman must not be touched."
"Why?"
"General Wang, do you remember the story of Cao Yunlong and Pang Qi?"
Upon hearing this, Wang Ke's manhood immediately shrank. Recalling how Cao Yunlong and Pang Qi castrated themselves after being poisoned, yet still could not escape death, no matter how beautiful the female general before him was, Wang Ke had long lost interest.
Upon seeing this, Kan Caiyun burst into laughter. When Wang Ke asked her questions, she only laughed and didn't answer, which made Wang Ke even more uneasy. He then said, "Whether you're poisonous or not, this general won't touch you. Come on, skewer this slut and those barbarian women with bamboo tips and take them to the front of Huanglong Cave for all to see."
Hearing Shi Yunqing's words, the soldiers dared not have any more thoughts of rape. They came over and untied Kan Caiyun from the tree. Four soldiers grabbed her hands and feet and laid her face down on the ground, as if she were a pig or sheep to be slaughtered.
One soldier made a hook shape with his middle finger and inserted it into Kan Caiyun's anus. Kan Caiyun was in pain and slightly raised her snow-white buttocks. Another soldier took a bamboo stick and inserted the tip of the bamboo stick into Kan Caiyun's anus.
Kan Caiyun screamed in terror, twisting and struggling, but unable to escape. The soldiers pierced her body with the bamboo pole, penetrating her neck and head. She died shortly afterward.
They erected the bamboo pole, hoisting Kan Caiyun into the air, and then stripped the bodies of the four or five hundred female barbarian soldiers barefoot, also hoisting them onto the bamboo pole and parading them away, heading straight for Huanglong Cave.
As Wang Ke had done, the government troops, fearing poisoning, dared not rape the captured barbarian women. However, their lust was uncontrollable, and they still used sticks and spearheads to thoroughly humiliate the female captives' private parts before they were satisfied.
What will happen in the battle before Huanglong Cave? We'll find out in the next chapter.

Chapter 26 of Imperial Decree 026 – Barbarian Women Vow to Defend the Pass, Wang Ke Attacks the Stronghold by Lowering Rope.

It is said that Wang Ke and Shi Yunqing, having slaughtered all the barbarian female soldiers on the side path, then headed towards Huanglong Cave.
Along the way, they encountered over a hundred barbarian women, divided into several small groups. They first shot at them with arrows, and when their arrows ran out, they fought desperately to block the government troops. Unfortunately, it was like ants trying to shake a tree; Wang Ke and Shi Yunqing led their troops forward, killing them all by the roadside. Those captured refused to surrender and were all
impaled and killed, just as Kan Caiyun had done. They marched and stopped for two days before finally reaching the pass of Huanglong Cave. The barbarian women, having anticipated an attack from the rear, had built a high wall there, from which arrows rained down, killing and wounding many soldiers.
Wang Ke saw the high wall, which, though imposing, was inaccessible due to the terrain. He ordered Shi Yunqing to attack the back gate of the stronghold, while he led his troops up the mountain from the side, intending to gain a commanding position and lower them down the mountain by rope.
With this in mind, Wang Ke led five hundred men up the slope from the back. Near the summit, they were suddenly met with a volley of arrows, felling more than ten men. It turned out that forty or fifty barbarian women were hiding behind rocks at the summit, firing arrows from there. Wang Ke hurriedly ordered his archers to return fire, but shooting upwards from a low vantage point, even with strong bows, they couldn't match the range of crossbows fired from above.
Seeing no other option, Wang Ke had to launch a direct assault. Arrows and stones rained down from above, killing many of his soldiers. After several unsuccessful attempts, Wang Ke finally took a rattan shield and a single-edged sword, dismounted, and charged forward into the mountains, braving the poisoned crossbow bolts.
Encouraged, the soldiers shouted and charged up the mountain. After another round of shooting from the mountain, the arrows ran out, forcing them to push the rocks down the mountainside. The hillside was littered with rubble and the corpses of the government troops . Wang Ke, however, was a highly skilled warrior. Armed with a rattan shield and a single-edged sword, he finally reached the summit.
Upon seeing him, the barbarian women dropped their bows and crossbows and charged at Wang Ke with their swords.
Now free from the threat of poisoned arrows, Wang Ke was no longer afraid. He wielded his steel sword, slicing one barbarian woman in half at the waist with a left stroke, then turning and stabbing another through the waist. As he withdrew his sword, he swiftly slashed backward, disemboweling a barbarian woman from behind, her internal organs flying out. His left foot then passed through a flurry of flashing swords, striking the woman in front of him in the abdomen, who collapsed to the ground, dying in agony. The remaining barbarian women, undeterred, charged at Wang Ke with frenzied screams.
Meanwhile, government soldiers seized the opportunity to rush up the mountain and surround the barbarian women.
The barbarian women showed no fear, continuing to fight with their swords, but they were outnumbered and, in the time it takes to
drink a cup of tea, all of them transformed into vengeful ghosts. Wang Ke, occupying the mountaintop, looked down and saw himself atop a cliff several dozen feet high. From his vantage point, he could see about seven or eight hundred barbarian women and men from the village, divided into two groups. One group, led by a woman in her mid-twenties, was using the high wall behind them to fight Shi Yunqing; the other group, led by several minor leaders, was resisting Feng Xiaoyu in front.
Feng Xiaoyu was attacking from below, making her defense easier, so this side had fewer people, while the other side had more.
The village was also prepared for this cliff, hence the dozens of barbarian women guarding it. Those below, probably aware of the battle on the mountaintop, were seeing dozens of barbarian women standing at the foot of the cliff, guarding the two rope ladders, waiting in line to climb up, and a dozen more barbarian women guarding a dozen crossbows, aiming at the top.
Wang Ke assessed the situation and ordered his soldiers to guard the rope ladders. The barbarian women who came up were captured one by one; more than a dozen were captured in quick succession. Those below, seeing this, hurriedly shot arrows up the cliff, but they posed no threat.
Wang Ke then ordered stones to be thrown down from the mountaintop, scattering the female soldiers below.
He then ordered archers to shoot down the dozen or so crossbows, clearing a space below. Wang Ke personally descended the rope ladder and engaged the barbarian women climbing up below. Although the women wielded sharp blades, they were no match for Wang Ke's superior martial arts. He slipped one foot into the shadow of her sword and kicked her in the heart, sending her crashing down the ladder to the ground, motionless.
Arrows rained down from the camp, but Wang Ke, wielding his single-edged sword, shielded himself and slid down the rope ladder, charging straight into the camp. The barbarian women fell dead upon contact, twenty or thirty in quick succession.
Seeing this, the soldiers behind him bravely scrambled down the cliff.
Wang Ke single-handedly fought dozens of barbarian women, clearing a path for his men. Before long, thirty or forty government troops had gathered at the foot of the cliff, firmly holding the area within an arrow's reach. Several more ropes were lowered down from the cliff, allowing even more government troops to descend.
Seeing that he had secured his position, Wang Ke ordered his remaining soldiers to continue guarding the bottom of the cliff to cover his comrades' descent. He then led twenty-odd soldiers to launch a strong attack on the city gate. Suddenly, he saw the barbarian female general, who had been directing operations from the rear wall, leading seventy or eighty women towards them.
Without a word, the general waved her hand, and her barbarian women charged towards Wang Ke's group, while she herself caught him.
Wang Ke observed that the general was about twenty-two or twenty-three years old, tall and slender, a beautiful woman, and her soldiers were all young women in their twenties and thirties.
Seeing the fierce attack from the female general, Wang Ke parried her single-edged shovel with his single-edged sword, saying, "Are you Kan Meitong, female general?"
"Indeed, it is your female general."
"Kan Meitong, your stronghold is about to fall, why don't you surrender now?"
"Wang Ke, we people of Nanling don't know what surrender means. Quickly take this general's precious shovel!" With that, she
brandished her large iron shovel to fight Wang Ke. While Wang Ke was fighting Kan Meitong, his lieutenants and officers who had come down from the cliff bypassed Wang Ke and Kan Meitong, attacking the front and rear gates separately.
Kan Meitong ignored them, hacking wildly at Wang Ke's head like a madwoman, completely disregarding her own life.
Although Wang Ke was skilled in martial arts, he was also thoroughly overwhelmed by Meitong's reckless fighting style.
After another twenty or so rounds, a female barbarian soldier reported, "General Kan, the government troops have opened the back gate, and Shi Yunqing has stormed in."
"Pass down the order! We've done our best; let each of us accept our fate." With that, he fought even harder, launching a frenzied attack.
Soon, the battle cries drew near. Wang Ke, seeing it was Shi Yunqing, shouted, "General Shi, quickly open the front gate! I can handle this alone!"
Hearing this, Shi Yunqing led his men south.
After another dozen or so rounds, the southern gate erupted in battle cries and cannon fire, indicating that Feng Xiaoyu had been brought in by Shi Yunqing. Only then did Wang Ke feel relieved.
The Huanglong Cave only had a few hundred barbarian women. They had barely held on thanks to their advantageous terrain, but now that the front and back gates were breached, tens of thousands of government troops pounced like tigers and wolves, beginning another brutal massacre. Although the barbarian women knew they were doomed, they fought like cornered beasts, each time trying to take someone down with them before dying.
Upon hearing of the village's fall, Kan Meitong remained expressionless, only fighting even more fiercely. After another twenty-odd rounds, Wang Ke found an opening and kicked her in the groin from behind a shovel. Kan Meitong screamed in agony and collapsed to the ground. Wang Ke rushed forward, seized her knife, and kicked her down again. Soldiers seized the opportunity to rush forward, tie her up, and escorted her to the center of the village behind Wang Ke.
By this time, most of the barbarian women had been killed, and twenty or thirty had been captured. Only about seventy remained, retreating to the wall outside the village's council hall, where they were surrounded by government troops. Feng Xiaoyu, Tao Xiuying, and Shi Yunqing were already there. Wang Ke brought Kan Meitong with him.
Feng Xiaoyu said, "Your leaders have already been captured, why don't you lay down your weapons and surrender?"
One of the junior leaders said, "You lackeys of the imperial court, kill us if you want, we will never surrender."
Kan Meitong knew the pain and humiliation she would suffer if captured, so she shouted, "Sisters, you have done your best, don't let the officials capture you and humiliate you, end it all yourselves."
The barbarian women looked at each other, and one of the junior leaders shouted, "We obey your orders, sisters, listen to my command, end it all! One, two, three!"
Feng Xiaoyu and the soldiers understood their meaning, but they could not stop them. They saw the barbarian women lean against the wall, put their waist knives across their necks, tighten their grip, and then slide down the wall, sitting shoulder to shoulder at the base of the wall, dying.
Feng Xiaoyu couldn't help but sigh.
Tao Xiuying and the other generals accompanied Feng Xiaoyu on a tour of the village. Hundreds of barbarian women lay sprawled in pools of blood, each in a different posture, a truly gruesome sight.
Feng Xiaoyu ordered the women's heads to be cut off and reported to the court as a victory.
Wang Ke, standing nearby, said, "Marshal, the original number of barbarian people in Nanling was less than 80,000, but now there are 40,000 to 50,000. If we cut off their heads to report as a victory, it will likely consume a lot of vehicles and manpower, which I think is not worthwhile."
"What do you think, Vanguard?"
"The army already has established methods. In my opinion, we can temporarily detain the captured enemy in the Nanling military town, and the killed enemy chieftains can be preserved in salt jars. As for the killed female soldiers, we only need to take one distinctive item."
"Since the army has established methods, let's follow your advice, Vanguard, and you can handle it."
"Your subordinate obeys."
Feng Xiaoyu then arranged for the camp to be set up, and then returned to the village's council hall with Tao Xiuying to rest. Little did he know that his subordinates, taking advantage of Wang Ke's words, were once again humiliating the female corpses.
In fact, the "established military method" Wang Ke mentioned referred to cutting off small, unique parts of enemy corpses, such as a hand, an ear, or a nose. However, after receiving the order, Wang Ke didn't do it himself but assigned it to his deputy, Ma Yuanbiao.
Ma Yuanbiao was one of Wang Ke's notorious womanizers; in reality, how many male generals at that time considered women as human beings?
We'll find out how Ma Yuanbiao treated those female prisoners and corpses in the next chapter.

Chapter 27 of Imperial Chapter 027 – Ma Yuanbiao devises a plan to skin women alive, the He family generals raid the camp at the crossroads. Last

time, we mentioned that Ma Yuanbiao received Wang Ke's order to deal with those female prisoners and corpses.
Ma Yuanbiao, a skilled womanizer, was immediately ordered to bring several flails made of large wood. Each flails consisted of two thick wooden planks, each over two zhang long, with holes cut into them. Ten female barbarian soldiers, including Kan Meitong and the dozens captured from the cliff and the village, were to be tied together. The two flails were joined together, and the women's necks were wedged into the round holes between the planks and secured with pins. Then, the women's hands were pulled upwards through two smaller round holes in front of their heads and handcuffed, causing them to tug at each other and unable to escape. The flails were then chained together.
Then they dragged Kan Caiyun's body over, laid it face up on the ground, cut the bamboo in half, leaving only half a foot protruding from her vulva, and used a sharp knife to cut open her abdomen from the front, taking out her heart, liver,
and internal organs, leaving only an empty shell. They washed the blood and grime from the cavity with water, smeared it with salt and nitrate, then bound her hands and feet together with ropes, and had two soldiers carry it. They sent a hundred soldiers and a general to carry Kan Caiyun's body, along with the flails, out of Huanglong Cave and back to Nanling Military Town. There, they put the prisoners into the old military camp for guarding, and took a large vat to put Kan Caiyun in, soaking her like salted meat.
The order was given to drag the corpses of the slain barbarian women to a ravine outside the village. A dozen or so soldiers, former butchers, were selected and ordered to peel the skin from the groin area of the women's bodies, from the base of the thighs to the top of the pubic hair, down to the tailbone, including the anus. The bodies were then pushed into the ravine to decompose.
Soldiers who had worked as leatherworkers were also ordered to tan the genital skin. One hundred genital skins were strung together with a thin hemp rope, and only a dozen or so were made from the skin of the more than one thousand slain barbarian women. These were hung on the grain carts to dry as they moved. After
a few days of rest, Feng Xiaoyu ordered the army to resume its march, having long forgotten about the women's corpses. Several days later, he happened to see a dozen or so strings of dried meat, covered in black hair, hanging like small banners on the grain carts. He initially mistook them for food, but when he sent someone to inquire, he was furious and nearly exploded. Tao Xiuying, however, stopped him with a quick wink.
Back in their tent, where no one was around, Tao Xiuying said, "Those male soldiers and generals rarely see a woman in the camp. With nowhere to vent their frustrations, who wouldn't take the opportunity to do something lewd? If the Marshal gets angry because of this, wouldn't it hurt the morale of his own soldiers?"
"But you and I are women, how can we allow them to humiliate women like this?"
"Since ancient times, women have only been playthings for men. If it weren't for our noble status, they would probably have had their own fantasies about you and me long ago. Why bother arguing with them? If the Marshal is unhappy, just stay far away and don't look."
Hearing Tao Xiuying's advice, Feng Xiaoyu gave up and never went to the supply depot again. Fortunately, Tao Xiuying had seen many such incidents and had become much thicker-skinned. When searching for supplies, she would volunteer to go to the supply depot in Feng Xiaoyu's place, allowing Feng Xiaoyu to relax.
That day, at another fork in the road, Feng Xiaoyu ordered Shi Yunqing to lead 20,000 troops to guard the mountain pass of the shortcut, while she led the main force eastward to attack Jiudaogou.
Three days after Feng Xiaoyu's army marched, in the middle of the night, a sudden burst of drums erupted, and a thousand barbarian female cavalry charged out of the mountain pass.
Leading them were two female generals, each wielding a double-pronged steel fork. Both were in their late teens or early twenties, beautiful as angels, and as fierce as mad tigers. They deflected the government troops' arrows, breached the palisades, and charged straight into the camp, hacking and slashing.
The government troops had never expected the barbarian women to launch such a public attack; caught off guard, they were thrown into chaos. The women stormed two large camps, burning countless tents.
By the time Shi Yunqing donned his armor, mounted his horse, and charged ahead, the enemy had already retreated into the valley.
Unsure if there were any ambushes in the valley, Shi Yunqing dared not venture in and had to retreat to camp.
Upon assessing the losses at camp, he found over three hundred dead or wounded, while only five or six barbarian riders had been killed by arrows during the attack.
Examining the bodies of the barbarian women, they were all around seventeen or eighteen years old, wielding double-pronged forks. They were covered in dirt, their tube skirts disheveled, their beautiful buttocks and genitals fully exposed—a truly erotic sight.
The government troops, carrying torches, stripped the women's clothes on the spot, spreading their legs to peel off their genital skin. Finding their vulvas intact, they were all unmarried virgins.
The genital skin was tanned as usual, strung with hemp rope, and hung in the grain depot. The women's bodies, now without genital skin, were strung on bamboo poles and stood outside the camp gate.
Shi Yunqing knew that this raid on the camp would surely result in punishment, so the next day he led two thousand soldiers to array outside the valley entrance and sent men into the valley to challenge them to battle.
Half an hour later, a loud drumbeat resounded in the valley. Two hundred barbarian female cavalrymen formed ranks, and the two female generals immediately rode to the front, shouting, "Which one of you is General Shi?"
Shi Yunqing rode out and said, "I am the vanguard. State your name, general."
The older female general, who appeared to be a young woman in her twenties, looked at Shi Yunqing and said, "I am He Axiu, the leader of the King of Nanling. This is my younger sister, He Azhen. My sister and I are here to guard the valley. May I ask what brings you here, Vanguard Shi?"
"Are all you Southern Ling people good for is petty theft?"
"All warfare is based on deception. Now that we are enemies, what's this talk of petty theft? If we're talking about petty theft, is Commander Shi a chicken or a dog?" The barbarian women laughed in unison.
Shi Yunqing roared, "You audacious barbarian, daring to be so glib in front of me! I'll capture you both and skin you alive!" He brandished his shovel, ready to charge.
Behind him, his adjutant Huang Yong spurred his horse forward, saying, "Commander Shi, why use a sledgehammer to crack a nut? This is no match for you; my spear is enough!"
"General Huang, be careful." Seeing someone challenging him, Shi Yunqing turned his horse around and returned to his own lines.
Huang Yong, wielding a large iron spear, circled twice in front of the battle lines, shouting triumphantly, "Which of you two barbarians will come to die first?"
He Azhen rode forward and said, "Who are you, daring to challenge the female general of Nanling?"
"I am Lieutenant General Huang Yong, female barbarian. This general has always had a heart of tenderness towards women. I see you are quite beautiful. If you are willing to surrender before the battle lines and let this general enjoy you for one night, I will reward you with a single cut, sparing you the agony of being slowly sliced to death. How about it?"
"Bah! You are extremely rude. However, this young lady is magnanimous and will not hold it against you. I will spare you a quick death with four holes in your body."
The two started fighting, each brandishing their weapons.
Huang Yong's martial arts were also quite good. His spear and He Azhen's fork were evenly matched, with Huang Yong having a slight advantage.
However, while fighting, Huang Yong's eyes kept wandering around. It turned out that He Azhen, though a general, was barefoot, riding a pony. In the midst of the fighting, her short skirt would occasionally lift, revealing a dazzling expanse of white from her toes to her thighs. Huang Yong, a man of stature, couldn't remain unmoved by such a sight. So, while fighting, he kept glancing at the female general's thighs, hoping to catch a glimpse of He Azhen's beautiful, snowy buttocks beneath her skirt.
Shi Yunqing, seeing this, inwardly cried out in alarm. Just as he was about to warn her, He Azhen, whether by accident or design, swung her fork, and the ferrule at the end of the fork brushed past him, inadvertently pulling up his skirt.
Huang Yong was just turning his horse back to fight when he happened to see the woman's skirt lift up, revealing what appeared to be a tuft of black hair. His eyes were immediately drawn to it, and he completely forgot he was in a life-or-death struggle. He Azhen seized the opportunity, thrusting a spear into his throat and lifting him off his horse like a banner, returning him to his own lines. The corpse was left on the ground, and female barbarian soldiers quickly came and beheaded him.
Shi Yunqing, seeing Huang Yong dead, was furious and turned back, saying, "Which general will avenge General Huang?"
Behind him, his lieutenant Zhang Youqing, wielding a halberd, rode out and said, "
This humble general requests the order." Zhang Youqing, having received the order, galloped into the formation, saying, "That barbarian woman, don't run! Grandpa Zhang will take your life!"
He Axiu hurriedly spurred her horse forward, saying, "Who are you? How dare you boast like this?"
"I am Zhang Youqing, the lieutenant under Vanguard Shi, here to capture you."
"In that case, take this spear!" He Axiu swung her spear and struck.
It remains to be seen who will win between the two; let's find out in the next chapter.

Chapter 28 of Imperial Chapter 028 – The Southern Ridge Women's Two-Pronged Attack, Feng

Xiaoyu Challenges the Enemy at the Ditch. It is said that Vice General Zhang Youqing received orders to fight and engaged He Axiu in battle
. The two fought back and forth, a truly spectacular sight. Zhang Youqing was tall and strong, while He Axiu was petite and rode a small horse, making her half his height.
Yet, despite this disadvantage, she managed to find opportunities. She dodged left and right, avoiding Zhang Youqing's halberd, but each dodge resulted in an attack. They fought for over twenty rounds. Suddenly, He Axiu let out a sharp cry and thrust her fork towards Zhang Youqing's heart. Zhang Youqing quickly dodged, narrowly avoiding his heart, but the fork pierced through his arm.
As Zhang Youqing struggled to break free, the barbs on the fork tore off a piece of flesh, causing him to cry out in pain and retreat to his own lines.
Upon seeing He Azhen's formidable martial arts skills, Shi Yunqing, fearing another loss to one of his officers, spurred his horse forward and declared, "General He, you are a man of great martial spirit! Let me, your vanguard, spar with you a few times."
He Axiu readily agreed, charging forward to meet Shi Yunqing in battle.
The fight immediately revealed Shi Yunqing's superior skill; He Axiu felt constantly outmaneuvered. In a moment of distraction, Shi Yunqing stabbed her in the thigh with his dagger, drawing blood. He Azhen, who had witnessed the entire exchange, rode forward to join He Axiu in a duel with Shi Yunqing. After
seven or eight more rounds, He Axiu suddenly whistled and, along with He Azhen, fled into the valley, followed by a group of female cavalry.
Shi Yunqing pursued them to the valley entrance, but fearing an ambush, dared not enter and had to withdraw.
The next day, when he challenged them to battle again, no one in the valley paid him any attention.
Frustrated, Shi Yunqing sent men to attack, but the barbarian women on both sides of the mountain hurled stones, killing many of the government troops. They attacked several times, but to no avail.
Soon after, Feng Xiaoyu brought a general's order, reprimanding Shi Yunqing but pardoning him, ordering him to guard the pass and wait for unrest in the valley before attacking. Shi Yunqing, receiving the order, was indignant, saying, "These barbarians are united now, how could they possibly rebel? They're truly women!"
Meanwhile, Feng Xiaoyu led her army to the outside of Toudaogou and set up camp.
After a day's rest, Feng Xiaoyu led five hundred men and all her generals to challenge them.
Why so few men? Because the area was mountainous, and there wouldn't be enough space for more people.
One hundred female cavalry and one hundred female infantry emerged from the pass. The cavalry were mostly girls in their teens and twenties, and the infantry were mostly young women.
There were also six female generals, all teenagers, each with a beautiful face.
The leader, surnamed Feng and named Juan, was Fengyi's cousin, only sixteen years old, wielding a phoenix-headed shovel. He Li had appointed her as the vanguard of the Nanling army. The second, surnamed He and named Lizhen, though only eighteen, was of a higher generation, being the younger sister of the current Nanling King, He Li. She also wielded a two-pronged fork. The third, surnamed Kan and named Caijiao, was a cousin of the previously killed Kan Caiyun, seventeen years old, and also wielded a phoenix-headed shovel. The fourth, fifth, and sixth were all surnamed Huang, women around seventeen, eighteen, and twenty years old: Huang Mingzhu, Huang Mingyu, and Huang Mingfeng. Although they also used forks, they employed a different style, using double forks.
The two sides faced each other, exchanging names and engaging in verbal attacks to provoke a fight.
Before long, a general named Fan Wuli, who was in a bad mood, rode a big black horse and wielded a Xuanhua broad axe. He rushed out to the front of the formation and shouted, "Nanling barbarian women, shut up! Which one of you will come out and let grandpa have his way?"
A barbarian woman, about twenty-six or twenty-seven years old, emerged from the infantry formation. Judging from her attire, she was a young woman.
She held a short knife in her left hand and a long curved sword in her right, barefoot, yet she moved with lightning speed to Fan Wuli's horse, saying, "You dog, what are you yelling about? If you want to enjoy yourself, this sword of mine is for you."
Fan Wuli truly hadn't expected that his opponent wasn't even a general, but merely an infantryman. Feeling slighted, he rolled his eyes and said, "You're no match for me. Go back and get someone on horseback."
The young woman smiled slightly and said, "Your martial arts are too poor. It would be bullying for us to fight you on horseback. You'd better get past me first."
"Who are you? This general's axe doesn't kill nameless ghosts."
"You little brat, you don't even recognize your own grandmother?"
"How dare you, you shameless woman! You're infuriating!" Fan Wuli was so enraged that he didn't even bother to ask her name, and swung his axe, aiming to strike the young woman on the head, thinking that this axe would definitely cut right down to her crotch.
But when the axe struck, the opponent had vanished without a trace, while the axe itself was caught off guard.
Fan Wuli knew something was wrong; his opponent must have crawled under the horse's belly. He quickly yanked the horse up, and it leaped, narrowly avoiding the blade aimed at its hooves.
However, the instant the horse landed, the opponent thrust upwards with her left hand from under the horse's belly, plunging the short knife into its abdomen. The horse, in pain, leaped four or five feet away, only to be slashed open in the belly by the opponent's momentum. It bounced a few times before collapsing to the ground.
Fan Wuli, unaware that his horse was injured, was thrown off its rear when it leaped, landing flat on his back, his axe flying several feet away.
The young woman, being experienced, wasn't ashamed. Taking advantage of the horse's forward leap, she bent down and crawled out from under its hind hooves, swiftly slashing with her curved blade. Before Fan Wuli even landed, the blade had cleaved him between the legs, cutting his manhood and lower abdomen in two.
Fan Wuli cried out in pain, curling into a ball. The young woman then swiftly slashed his head in two, leaving him with no chance to survive.
The attack was so fast that no one could react before Fan Wuli was dead.
The young woman then severed one of Fan Wuli's ears and ran towards her own ranks, holding it up.
Behind her, someone shouted, "You wretched woman, don't run! I'm coming!"
Hearing the sound of hooves behind her, the young woman tucked the ear she was holding into her apron's belt. Turning around, she saw a general, tall and strong, wielding a broad axe, galloping towards her.
The young woman pointed and said, "Wait, who are you?"
"My name is Fan Wuhuan. The man you just killed was my brother."
"What do you want? To die on the same day, month, and year as your brother? I'll grant your wish."
"You vile woman, you'll pay with your life!" Fan Wuhuan, only thinking of revenge, didn't want to waste any more words. He swung his axe, and the young woman tried to crawl under the horse's belly, but Fan Wuhuan quickly swerved the horse to the side, preventing her from crawling under. The axe came again.
It turned out that Fan Wuhuan had noticed the young woman's movements while watching his brother fight on the battlefield, knowing she was skilled at crawling under horses. Therefore, prioritizing safety over merit, he resolutely prevented her from crawling under the horse.
The young woman's martial arts skills were actually quite ordinary, far inferior to Fan Wuli's. It was only because she had mastered the starting stances of her family's martial arts techniques, and Fan Wuli had underestimated her, that she fell into the trap. It was Fan Wuli's bad luck that he died at her hands.
However, martial arts skills are inferior to other techniques, and the young woman's other moves were insufficient. After being dodged several times, she could no longer sneak into the horse's belly, and she became impatient. This impatience cost her her life.
Seeing her anxiety, Fan Wuhuan deliberately created an opening for her. The young woman saw an opportunity and tried to sneak into the horse's belly again, but she fell into Fan Wuhuan's trap. Taking advantage of the moment when her vision was obstructed as she bent over, Fan Wuhuan swung the ferrule of his axe downwards, striking the young woman on the back of the neck. With a "thud," she fell to the ground, motionless. Her neck had been broken by the force of the blow.
Fan Wuhuan avenged his brother. He hid in the stirrups, grabbed the young woman's skirt, flipped her onto the horse, and rode back to the camp. Soldiers had already come to help strip her naked, lay her limbs out on the ground, and in front of the barbarian women of Nanling, peeled off her genitals, then pierced her corpse with a spear and held it in the air.
Fan Wuhuan, having easily won this round, felt somewhat smug and rode out again, asking, "Who else dares to fight me?"
Huang Mingzhu rode out from the opposite formation, her double forks pointing left and right, saying, "You scoundrel, you've become extremely arrogant and ignorant of your place. This young lady will teach you a lesson."
Fan Wuhuan saw that Huang Mingzhu was eighteen or nineteen years old, with bright eyes and white teeth, and a captivating beauty. He couldn't help but laugh, "You're younger and prettier than that barbarian from before. If you don't want your fur skinned alive, dismount and surrender, or I might spare your life."
Huang Mingzhu hated his vulgar words, but remained calm and composed, coldly sneering, "I'm afraid your manhood won't last until today."
"You little slut, watch me catch you and pierce you alive!" With that, he swung his axe.
This single move revealed that Huang Mingzhu was not someone to be trifled with.
Huang Mingzhu rode a dwarf horse, more than a foot shorter than Fan Wuhuan, but was extremely agile.
When fighting Fan Wuhuan, Huang Mingzhu's tactics were unlike those of ordinary cavalry combat. Instead of relying on the force of a charge,
Huang Mingzhu used her small horse's agility to weave in and out of the enemy's horses, specifically targeting Fan Wuhuan's steed. In typical warfare, when men fight men, horses fight horses; in such a scenario, the larger horse would undoubtedly win. However, Huang Mingzhu was present. Her small horse would bite the larger horse's neck, while Huang Mingzhu used two small forks to strike its head. The horse, knowing the need for survival, could only desperately dodge, unable to utilize its full running potential.
Fan Wuhuan, wielding an axe, relied on its strength and the momentum of his horse's charge, but his opponent gave him no opportunity, constantly circling in front of his horse. Whenever he tried to retaliate, his horse's head always hindered his movements, infuriating him to the point of roaring.
Seeing this, Feng Xiaoyu knew things were going badly and was about to send someone to help when Huang Mingzhu seized the opportunity and succeeded.
How Huang Mingzhu achieved victory remains to be seen; we'll find out in the next chapter.

Chapter 29 of Imperial Finale 029 – Feng Xiaoyu, Cavalry General, Transforms

into Infantry General; The Woman of Nanling Creates a Heroic Demon. Last time, we recounted Fan Wuhuan's great battle against Huang Mingzhu.
Huang Mingzhu, relying on her horse's agility, weaved in front of Fan Wuhuan's horse, focusing her attacks on the horse itself. Fan Wuhuan was caught off guard, unable to escape. Feng Xiaoyu, seeing this, was about to send someone to help when Huang Mingzhu seized the opportunity, her short fork piercing Fan Wuhuan's horse's eye.
The horse, in pain, reared up abruptly. Fan Wuhuan reacted quickly, grabbing the horse's neck with both hands. Unexpectedly, Huang Mingzhu had moved to the left of the horse's front and thrust her fork in.
Fan Wuhuan tried to retaliate, but it was too late. He could only release his grip on the horse's neck, drop his axe, and tumble off the horse, clutching his head. Before he even hit the ground, Huang Mingzhu's other hand was already at the scene, her steel fork aimed at his genitals. The fork, driven by her hatred for his frivolous words, pierced his genitals, pulling back and tearing the two testicles off his penis.
Fan Wuhuan screamed in agony, clutching his wounds, when Huang Mingzhu struck again, piercing his buttocks through his eyes and then through the back of his head, killing him instantly.
A cheer erupted from the Nanling formation.
Feng Xiaoyu was furious and ordered Wang Ke to lead five deputy generals into battle. Six female generals also rode out, and the six pairs of officers clashed.
As Feng Xiaoyu observed the formation closely, she realized that warhorses were indeed useless here.
Of the six generals dispatched, only Wang Ke had made prior preparations, having taken Kan Caiyun's dwarf warhorse for his own use. The other five generals rode their own warhorses, which were large but not adept at mountain roads. The Nanling female generals employed Huang Mingfeng's tactics, avoiding flat ground and focusing their attacks on the hillsides. They also relied on the agility of their dwarf horses to entangle the larger horses, effectively hindering the government troops.
Seeing that the fighting would lead to a repeat of Fan Wuhuan's tragedy if it continued, Feng Xiaoyu ordered a retreat.
Wang Ke and Feng Juan were deeply engrossed in their battle when they heard the retreat gong and had no choice but to return. The other five generals were eager to hear the gong and turned to retreat. However, Hou Xi, who was half a step slower, was stabbed in the buttocks by Huang Mingyu, who tore off a piece of flesh the size of a teacup.
Back in the ranks, Wang Ke complained, "Marshal, I almost captured Feng Juan! How can we withdraw?"
"Vanguard Wang," Tao Xiuying said, "didn't you see the Southern Ridge female general has the advantage of riding ponies? If we continue fighting like this, I'm afraid my generals will all be killed by them."
"Then what do you think, Marshal?"
"Why don't you all abandon your horses and fight on foot?" Tao Xiuying suggested.
"We are not good at foot combat."
"On foot, we can still make our moves; at least it's better than being ridden and beaten."
Wang Ke thought about it and agreed. He didn't say anything more, but he greatly admired the female marshal's foresight.
Having witnessed the situation ahead, the generals knew the marshal's words were true. The next morning, Feng Xiaoyu challenged them to battle again, and Feng Juan led her troops out of the camp to meet the enemy.
This time, the government army again sent six generals, but only Wang Ke rode a small pony to meet them.
This time, the strength of both sides was much more evenly matched. Although the generals were all cavalry and not skilled in foot combat, without their horses hindering their movements, they could defend while attacking. After all, they were seasoned warriors with profound martial arts foundations, and the Nanling female general couldn't easily defeat them.
Only Wang Ke's side had a slight advantage in the government army, because Wang Ke was a renowned general with many years of experience and high martial arts skills, while Feng Juan was young and her martial arts were still immature. Furthermore, Wang Ke was also riding a small pony, which greatly reduced the difference in their mounts.
However, the horse wasn't Wang Ke's, so the coordination between rider and horse wasn't ideal, preventing Wang Ke from fully displaying his martial arts skills.
Wang Ke was secretly surprised. He had seen Feng Ling before, and Feng Juan's martial arts were actually quite good. Given time, reaching Feng Ling's level wouldn't be difficult.
They fought for dozens of rounds, neither gaining the upper hand. However, Wang Ke grew increasingly fierce, his coordination with his horse improving. Feng Juan could no longer withstand him. In a moment of carelessness, Wang Ke swept off her silver ornaments, startling her, and she turned and fled.
Wang Ke shouted, "Chase!" and gave chase.
Seeing Feng Juan defeated, the other five female generals also retreated, leading two hundred female barbarian soldiers up the mountain.
Wang Ke pursued relentlessly, hoping to seize the pass while chasing Feng Juan. Just as he reached the gate, the five female generals caught up from behind and attacked him from behind.
Although Wang Ke's martial arts were superior to any of them, he couldn't fight six against one. He was surrounded and defeated, forced to retreat down the mountain. The barbarian women took the opportunity to return to the village and close the gate.
While Wang Ke was chasing after the defeated Feng Juan, the other generals wanted to follow, but they had already abandoned their horses and couldn't catch up. They could only watch helplessly as Wang Ke was driven back alone, unable to help.
Back in camp, everyone saw that the Nanling female general was brave, but after all, she was young and her martial arts were still lacking. Taking Nanling should not be a problem.
The next day, Feng Xiaoyu again lined up to challenge them, but the other side refused to fight.
For several days, no one responded. Feng Xiaoyu gave the order for Wang Ke to lead a strong attack. In an instant, cannons roared and drums beat. Wang Ke immediately rode to the front and commanded his soldiers to launch a strong attack.
The two sides began a bloody battle on the walls of the pass. The government troops rushed up the hillside like a tide, only to be knocked down by arrows and stones from above. They rushed up again, only to be knocked down again. The
attack lasted for half a month. Several times, the government troops had already climbed the walls, only to be driven back down by the barbarian female general and her men. In the past half month, the government troops suffered over two thousand casualties. It was also common to see barbarian women falling from the stockade, struck by arrows or cannonballs; an estimated four or five hundred had died as well.
Seeing that the siege was proving unsuccessful, Wang Ke grew impatient. He took a rattan shield and a single horse, and charged ahead, leading the charge up the hillside.
He broke through the first gully, charging several times until he finally reached the wall. Encouraged, the government troops behind him charged forward, providing cover for Wang Ke. Armed
with a shield in one hand and a sword in the other, Wang Ke ordered his soldiers to erect a ladder, and he himself climbed it first.
Ash cannons and cannonballs rained down from above, but Wang Ke used the rattan shield for protection, scaling the wall. With a single stroke, he beheaded a barbarian woman who was about to fire a crossbow bolt. Seeing several barbarian women using forked bamboo poles to pry open the ladder, he chopped the poles in half, shouted, and leaped onto the wall.
Several barbarian women saw this and rushed forward without hesitation, trying to knock Wang Ke off the wall. However, Wang Ke wielded his single-edged sword, striking in all directions. With one stroke, he severed the slender waist of the first barbarian woman, then cleaved the second woman from shoulder to crotch, and with a backhand, decapitated the third. He kicked the fourth woman away, sending her flying over the wall. He then struck the fifth woman on the head with the hilt of his sword, knocking her unconscious.
Wang Ke swiftly dealt with the five barbarian women, securing the ladder. Meanwhile, government troops seized the opportunity to scale the wall.
At this moment, female generals Huang Mingfeng and Huang Mingzhu were guarding the camp. Seeing Wang Ke rush to the top of the wall, they hurriedly rushed towards him, but it was too late; he had already secured a foothold for the government troops.
Huang Mingfeng, wielding her double forks, fought desperately, engaging Wang Ke in battle.
Huang Mingzhu rushed to help, but a deputy general who had followed her over the wall quickly caught her. Another government deputy general, disregarding the fighting soldiers, leaped over the wall to open the gate, and the government troops poured in.
Seeing that the pass was no longer defensible, Huang Mingzhu cried out, "Sister, quickly tell the sisters to retreat to Erdaogou to defend!"
Huang Mingfeng said, "This fellow is powerful; I can't escape. Sister, go quickly!"
Hearing this, Huang Mingzhu didn't hesitate, feigning weakness, and turned to leave.
Wang Ke urgently ordered his generals to capture Huang Mingzhu. Huang Mingfeng fought desperately, clinging to Wang Ke, while hundreds of barbarian female infantrymen held off the government troops. They released Huang Mingzhu to mount her horse, and she led her female cavalry away through the back gate of the village.
Wang Ke had no choice but to fight fiercely. After more than ten rounds, he found an opening, kicked Huang Mingfeng in the chest, sending her sprawling on her back, and then swung his double forks.
The soldiers rushed forward. Huang Mingfeng, fearing humiliation, rolled over and grabbed a fork, intending to commit suicide.
Before she could turn the fork around, Wang Ke rushed forward, stomped her wrist to the ground, grabbed her other hand and pulled it behind her back, knelt down on one knee, pressed down on her slender waist, and then took the fork from her hand, twisting that hand behind her back as well.
Huang Mingfeng was only seventeen years old, with slender arms and a thin body. When Wang Ke held her down, she was like a chick under an eagle's claws, struggling for a long time but unable to move. A soldier came over, took Huang Mingfeng from Wang Ke, and held her face down, binding her securely with ropes. The soldiers, having bound the female general, got up and made her lie face down again. When Wang Ke kicked her down, her tube skirt had already been lifted, now revealing her two pink buttocks, white as snow, smooth as jade, round and pointed.
Wang Ke stepped forward, stepped on her buttocks, kicked her, and turned her around.
Huang Mingfeng, captured and knowing she was destined for humiliation, burst into tears, her face like a pear blossom in the rain, a pitiful sight.
Wang Ke said, "Why not surrender to avoid further humiliation?"
Huang Mingfeng remained silent, her eyes filled with tears, yet her gaze showed unyielding defiance.
Wang Ke, helpless, could only order his soldiers to temporarily detain her in the gatehouse while he went to command the sweeping of the barbarian women in the stronghold.
Because the barbarian women disregarded their own lives, blocking the back gate and retaliating with bamboo arrows, the government troops could not pursue the retreating Huang Mingfeng.
At this point, Wang Ke had no time for pity and ordered his soldiers to unleash a volley of arrows, killing the barbarian women in front.
When the arrows were fired again, the barbarian women behind them linked arms, supporting each other, remaining upright even in death, allowing the barbarian women behind to shoot arrows through the gaps, killing many more government soldiers.
Wang Ke shook his head and ordered all the remaining barbarian women to be killed.
From the high walls on both sides of the stockade, the soldiers unleashed a barrage of arrows followed by a hail of swords and spears. The barbarian women screamed in agony, and soon hundreds lay dead before the stockade gate. The soldiers dragged
away the corpses and opened the gate, only to find Huang Mingzhu and the barbarian cavalry nowhere to be seen.
Upon hearing that Toudaogou had been captured, Feng Xiaoyu moved his central army into the stockade and ordered another 10,000 troops to be moved into the gully.
A guide hired by Cao Yunlong revealed that the stone wall Cao Yunlong had built had been demolished, and even the stones had been taken by the barbarians. Fortunately, Cao Yunlong had cut down many trees, allowing Feng Xiaoyu to keep the camp connected.
Even so, the Nanling people continued their old tactics, constantly sending cavalry out at night to harass the area through the Erdaogou pass. This prevented Feng Xiaoyu from transferring more troops to Toudaogou, resulting in a manpower shortage that prevented Wang Ke from sustaining his assault from day to night.
Wang Ke was extremely anxious, but Feng Xiaoyu advised him, "Wang Xianfeng, there's no need to be impatient. I have a brilliant plan. Within two months, Nanling will fall on its own."
Although Wang Ke's disdain for Feng Xiaoyu lessened considerably due to the cavalry and infantry incident, he remained skeptical upon hearing this.
In truth, these words were spoken by Feng Xiaoyu at Tao Xiuying's behest; Feng Xiaoyu was merely a mouthpiece.
What ingenious plan Tao Xiuying had to conquer Nanling? We'll find out in the next chapter. (

Chapter 30 of Imperial Chapter 030 – Wu Halong's Secret Attack on the Barbarian King's Cave, Feng Aguo's Death in the Ancestral Hall)

Back to Nanling, as soon as Huang Mian received the imperial court's order to annihilate Nanling, he had already summoned the chieftains of the various Nanling caves to discuss important matters. Everyone knew that this alliance with the court would be unfavorable, and Nanling faced the threat of extermination. Therefore, the chieftains secretly devised a plan to preserve their lineage. This plan had already begun to be implemented before Cao Yunlong's advance, but large-scale implementation was extremely difficult and time was limited. Therefore, they utilized female soldiers and generals to delay as much as possible.
The deaths of Kan Meiyun and the other five female generals bought Nanling nearly half a year, allowing several important plans to be completed. Now, Nanling is no longer in danger of being wiped out. All that remains is to withstand the imperial court's attack and wait for a miracle.
To protect the elders remaining in Nanling, all the young women of the clan, except those who had fled with their husbands in the previous plan, went to the battlefield. The total number was about 11,000. Among them were twelve female generals who had grown up in Kan Meiyun's female cavalry battalion. Kan Caiyun and Kan Meitong led a battalion of infantry composed entirely of young women to guard Huanglong Cave. Feng Juan, He Lizhen, Kan Caijiao, Huang Mingyu, Huang Mingzhu, and Huang Mingfeng led 70% of the troops to guard Jiudaogou. He Axiu and He Azhen led a battalion of cavalry and two battalions of infantry to guard the dangerous mountain pass on the west side. Feng Aguo and Feng Axue led two battalions of infantry to guard Bajiaoling, where the royal palace was located, for a final resistance.
The young women of Nanling were now all widows. To leave Nanling with a last chance, the entire tribe made a rule: in times of danger, the widows would die first, so that unmarried girls could have a chance to continue bearing children for Nanling. This is why, after the first gully was breached, the female infantrymen risked their lives to block the rear gate, allowing the cavalry to retreat.
However, like Wang Ke, the people of Nanling did not expect that Tao Xiuying, the military advisor who led the advance, would be their greatest enemy. The Nanling people's plan to hold off the enemy layer by layer, waiting for an opportunity, was thwarted by Tao Xiuying, and everything happened so quickly, so suddenly, and without warning.
Just as Feng Juan and others were using the terrain of Jiudaogou to put up a layered resistance, and the government troops were blocked before Erdaogou, everyone was still full of hope for the future. However, suddenly, everything changed.
That night, it was the first day of the new moon, the sky was moonless, and it was pitch black. Suddenly, drums sounded loudly at Bajiaoling, where the Barbarian King's Palace was located, and shouts of battle shook the heavens.
He Li awoke with a start from his dream, hurriedly got up, dressed, grabbed his weapons, and mounted his horse. Scouts had already reported that thousands of Wu tribe warriors had descended from the mountains, killing anyone they saw. Feng Aguo and the female soldiers were no match for them, and over a hundred had already been killed. At this moment, the Wu tribe was charging towards the royal palace.
He Li suddenly slapped his forehead and said, "I've planned everything, but I never expected the Wu tribe to collude with the court. Oh well, the Southern Ridge is doomed."
He quickly issued orders, instructing Feng Axue to lead the female soldiers to protect the entire tribe and its members as they retreated into the Great Round Tower. He also sent messengers to the treacherous paths of Jiudaogou and the valley to relay the order: "All infantrymen of the tribe, fight to the last man to cover the virgins in the army and hide on the spot. All virgins, find an opportunity to sneak into the Central Plains, hide their identities, and search for the tribesmen who have escaped from the Southern Ridge, so as to preserve the roots of the Southern Ridge."
After relaying the orders, he led the royal palace guards to the main road and escorted the tribesmen, young and old, to the Great Round Tower.
The Great Round Tower is an ancestral structure of the Nanling people. It is built against a mountain, with stone walls on the lower level and a wooden frame on the upper level. It has six stories and can accommodate tens of thousands of people.
The Nanling barbarians also came from elsewhere. Upon arrival, they were ostracized by the local inhabitants and frequently robbed. Later, for defense, they built this Great Round Tower. After the tribe rose to power and drove out the original inhabitants, the Great Round Tower became their gathering place. Now, to resist the imperial army, it had to be reopened. In fact, the elderly and weak of the tribe had already gathered here.
He Li knew that Feng Juan and He Axiu's two groups had no time to return to Bajiaoling, and even if they did, it would be futile. Bajiaoling was the highest point in Nanling, and the shaman warriors were all men with extremely strong fighting power. The Nanling female soldiers were no match for them, and given the terrain, probably no one could withstand them. Therefore, he made the wise decision to send the girls to find their own way to survive, and not to go to Bajiaoling.
It turned out that Tao Xiuying had already devised a plan to unite with the Wu tribe to destroy Nanling long before she even set out to attack.
The Wu tribe were originally native to Nanling, but after being defeated in a war of vengeance, they were forced to migrate to the high mountains to the south. Although their population grew to be similar to that of the Nanling people and their settlements were relatively prosperous, they were too far from the outside world, making communication extremely difficult, and they had long coveted Nanling. Therefore, Tao Xiuying, authorized by Feng Qing, secretly sent someone with gifts to meet Wu Halong, the chieftain of the Wu tribe, promising that if the Wu tribe helped the court eliminate the Nanling barbarians, Wu Halong would become the ruler of Nanling.
Wu Halong also knew that Nanling now had no strong men left and had long harbored the desire to annex it. Hearing the messenger's words, he was overjoyed and immediately agreed, secretly making preparations that will not be discussed further.
When the imperial army arrived at Jiudaogou, Wu Halong received the news. He deliberately chose this moonless, dark night to mobilize eight thousand Wu soldiers, dividing them into three routes. He personally led the central route of two thousand men, directly attacking Bajiaoling; the eastern route of four thousand men attacked Jiudaogou from the rear; and the western route of two thousand men attacked the western valley from the rear to support Shi Yunqing's entry into the mountains.
Meanwhile, Wu Halong, under cover of darkness, quietly arrived outside Bajiaoling. Finding the area largely undefended, he hurriedly ordered, "Kill!" Two thousand Wu warriors charged down the mountain.
Upon entering the main street, they encountered a female general leading hundreds of barbarian women blocking their path. The female warrior, around twenty-four or twenty-five years old, rode a small horse and wielded a copper staff. She shouted, "Who goes there? How dare you invade Nanling!"
Wu Halong, also riding a small horse and carrying a pair of short-handled axes, stepped forward and replied, "I am Wu Halong, the cave chief of the Wu tribe. Who are you?"
"I am Feng Aguo of Nanling. Why aren't you enjoying yourselves on the mountain? What are you doing here in Nanling?"
"To exterminate the Nanling barbarians and reclaim Jiudaogou to avenge the murders and land seizures we suffered."
"Hmph! Clearly, you intend to be accomplices of the imperial court. Although only women and children remain in Nanling, we will fight to the last man and will not let you succeed so easily."
"Good! Brothers, charge!" At Wu Halong's command, the Wu tribe warriors charged towards the barbarian woman.
"Sisters, kill!" Feng Aguo shouted, leading her female soldiers in a fierce battle.
In terms of military strength, Bajiaoling was the weakest point in the Nanling forces. The female soldiers there were mostly older, over thirty, and less skilled in martial arts. Although they fought valiantly and killed twenty or thirty Wu tribesmen, the disparity in strength was too great, and they were outnumbered. In an instant, over a hundred barbarian women lay dead in pools of blood.
Feng Aguo was surrounded by a dozen or so Wu tribe warriors. She knew that the royal palace was just a few miles behind them, and that the cave master, He Li, was currently there. To protect the prince, she was willing to die here.
Look at her, wielding a copper staff with incredible speed, striking the Wu tribesmen until they staggered and died one after another. She herself was also stabbed several times, yet she continued to fight relentlessly.
After a long battle, a messenger cavalryman arrived and said, "General Feng, the Prince and all the elders and children of the clan have retreated into the Great Round Tower. You are ordered to withdraw."
"Understood," Feng Aguo replied, sweeping two sorcerers off their horses with her club, and shouted, "Sisters, retreat quickly!"
The barbarian women listened and retreated. Feng Aguo rode her horse to cover the rear, holding off the sorcerers who followed closely behind for her men.
After passing the Prince's mansion, they reached the Feng clan's ancestral hall, about two miles from the Great Round Tower. Suddenly, a group of sorcerers appeared in front of them, blocking the barbarian women's path.
At this time, Feng Aguo only had a little over a hundred men with her. Seeing that she was surrounded, she shouted, "Sisters, we women of Nanling are all heroes! Before us is the enemy who destroyed our clan! Sisters, even if we die, we will fight as many of them as possible!"
"Yes! General Feng, we will obey you!" the barbarian women shouted in unison.
Wu Halong, a barbarian from the deep mountains, was extremely savage. He hastily ordered, "Kill! Slaughter all these barbarian women!"
At this command, the shamans swarmed forward, surrounding Feng Aguo and the hundred barbarian women. Swords and spears rained down, and the slaughter began.
The barbarian women refused to die easily, fighting with a desperate ferocity, disregarding the blades and spears, hoping to take someone down with them in their final moments. The
sounds of swords clashing and screams filled the air, and women fell to the ground frequently. In the time it takes to drink a cup of tea, all the barbarian women were killed, leaving only Feng Aguo.
The shamans retreated temporarily, watching Feng Aguo, preparing for their final blow.
Feng Aguo, too, was panting heavily from the fighting. Looking around, she saw that her sisters had all fallen, and forty or fifty shamans had also perished.
Some of the barbarian women bore dozens of knife and spear wounds, their flesh mangled, yet their hands never left their weapons; others knelt on the ground, already dead, their knives still embedded in the hearts of the shamans opposite them; still others lay on the ground, their curved swords raised before death, piercing the shamans who were about to pounce on them—the scene was utterly tragic.
Feng Aguo watched, her eyes welling with tears, but she did not shed a single one. She simply straightened her large club and sneered, "Who among you is unafraid of death? Come on!"
Shaman Halong hadn't expected this woman to possess such skill. Though she was the only one left, fear still gripped her heart. She turned to the warriors beside her and said, "Brave warriors, who will kill this barbarian woman for me?"
One shaman dismounted, brandishing his sword, and charged forward. Feng Aguo simply raised her club high, staring into his eyes. As the steel blade reached her head, she didn't try to block, but instead slammed the club down.
The sorcerer refused to die with her, and could only sheathe his sword to parry. Unbeknownst to him, the staff carried a tremendous force, breaking even his sword. The staff struck his head, instantly causing countless flowers to bloom, and he fell from his horse.
"Attack!"
Another sorcerer rushed at her from behind, also wielding a staff, sweeping it horizontally. Feng Aguo, again neither dodging nor parrying, turned and struck the sorcerer squarely on the neck with her staff, which then struck her back.
The sorcerer's neck was broken; he fell from his horse dead without uttering a sound. Feng Aguo spat out a mouthful of blood, but swallowed it back down.
"Attack together!" Wu Halong commanded again.
Five sorcerer knights charged forward. Feng Aguo no longer wanted to fight them; she only wanted to kill as many as possible. Once the five men had charged close enough, she gripped one end of her large club and swung it with all her might, smashing the skull of one sorcerer and striking the ear of another before stopping. She herself was struck by three more sorcerers; one slashed her head with a knife, and two pierced her body with spears. The two spear-wielding sorcerers together lifted Feng Aguo off her horse, hoisting her high into the air before slamming her to the ground.
Feng Aguo landed face down, motionless, dead, only her eyes still glaring angrily.
Wu Halong approached, his heart pounding, speechless for a long time.
A sorcerer soldier reported that He Li and the old and young of Nanling had all hidden in the Great Round Tower. Wu Halong then remembered the important matter he hadn't addressed and led his men towards the Great Round Tower.
What will happen in the battle at the Great Round Tower? We'll find out in the next chapter.

Chapter 31 of Imperial Decree – Shi Yunqing Launches a Strong Attack on the Small Valley, While His Soldiers Rape and Murder He Axiu

. Meanwhile, Wu Halong, having killed He Aguo, led the remaining shamans towards the Great Round Tower.
Upon reaching the tower, they found its stone foundation high and its doors heavy. Arrows rained down from its slits and from the upper floors, making it impossible to approach. They could only surround the tower and await news from the other two groups.
Meanwhile, Shi Yunqing, outside the valley, cautiously defended, not daring to attack rashly.
Suddenly one day, a flag bearer from the central army camp arrived and told Shi Yunqing, “Vanguard Shi, the Marshal orders you to prepare many torches. At night, men should not remove their armor, and horses should not be saddled. But if there is any movement in the valley at night, then lead the army in.”
Shi Yunqing, unsure of Feng Xiaoyu's scheme, could only order torches prepared and wait for the troops to move out each night.
Only two or three days later, just after midnight, scouts reported that chaos had broken out in the valley.
Shi Yunqing, unaware of the situation, but knowing it couldn't be bad, beat the drums to gather his troops, opened the camp gates, and charged into the valley.
Upon entering, he saw flames soaring into the sky on both sides of the mountain, and the air was filled with shouts of battle, yet no one was shooting arrows downhill. After crossing a small ravine, he encountered a man holding a white flag, requesting an audience with Shi Yunqing.
Shi Yunqing hurriedly caught up from behind and inquired. The man turned out to be a liaison for the Wu people. Only then did Shi Yunqing learn what had happened, and he immediately ordered a swift advance.
Reaching the open plain, he saw a group of men, also riding ponies, attacking barbarian female cavalry. Shi Yunqing quickly ordered his troops to join the battle; any female soldier was a Nanling native, and they were to be attacked without hesitation.
This female cavalry unit, numbering about five hundred, was comparable to the Wu knights, and under the leadership of He Azhen, was engaged in a fierce battle with the Wu people, the two sides locked in a stalemate.
Suddenly, Shi Yunqing attacked from behind. Outnumbered, the battlefield situation changed instantly. Although the barbarian women were brave, they were no match for his numbers and fell from their horses.
Seeing that the situation was hopeless, He Azhen cried out, "Sisters, we have done our best! Remember the cave chief's instructions, flee for your lives!"
Hearing their commander's words, the barbarian women left behind the corpses of over a hundred of their fallen sisters and scattered. Shi Yunqing, acting on orders from the court, had ordered the extermination of all Nanling tribesmen, men and women, and ordered a thorough hunt to ensure no one escaped.
He then spurred his horse towards He Azhen.
He Azhen, who had been fighting with the Wu tribe warrior Wu Hahu, seized the opportunity to turn her horse and flee across the plains after giving the order to escape.
Wu Hahu pursued, but could not catch up. At this moment, the advantage of Shi Yunqing's warhorse became apparent; he caught up with He Azhen in less than half a mile.
Seeing Shi Yunqing catch up, He Azhen hung her weapon on the bird-wing ring, took out her bamboo crossbow, and turned to shoot an arrow.
Shi Yunqing was no ordinary man; if Feng Ling had used this move, it might have been successful. However, He Azhen's skill was lacking, and Shi Yunqing was on guard. He twisted his body, dodging the arrow, grabbed He Azhen's belt, pulled her onto the horse, and pinned her to the saddle before turning back.
He Azhen struggled desperately on horseback, kicking and biting wildly. Enraged, Shi Yunqing struck her on the back of the neck, instantly knocking her unconscious.
Back in the middle of the valley, he handed He Azhen to the soldiers, who bound her in a four-horse-riding formation.
Wu Hahu greeted Shi Yunqing, and they exchanged greetings.
Shi Yunqing explained the imperial decree and stated that he had no involvement with the cavalry.
Wu Hahu said, "It's alright, it's alright. Just send men to guard the gullies on both sides of this valley. The task of capturing these barbarian women will be handled by my tribe's knights. Right now, the warriors of my tribe are killing the barbarian women guarding the mountains on both sides. The road ahead is clear. My chieftain has instructed me to clear these barbarian women and open a path for the vanguard, so that you can directly attack the barbarian king's cave at Bajiaoling."
Shi Yunqing inquired about the strength of both sides' forces, then left two thousand soldiers and a lieutenant general to help Wu Hahu set up a roadblock and
capture the women. He and Wu Hahu led the rest of their troops across the valley ahead, preparing to attack Bajiaoling. As soon as they crossed the valley, they saw sporadic fighting still taking place on the mountain paths on both sides. They also saw many barbarian women bound with ropes and kneeling on the ground, with shamans lifting their skirts and raping their naked buttocks from behind.
Shi Yunqing said, "Master Wu, your men are quite bold. Don't they know these barbarian women are skilled in using a poison that severs yin and yang?"
"Vanguard Shi, you are unaware of this. My Wu clan originally lived in the Southern Mountains and knows a great deal about this barbarian tribe. That poison that severs yin and yang is indeed potent; there has been no antidote since ancient times. However, this poison is only effective on virgins. If a woman has already lost her virginity, the poison is useless. Judging from the attire of these barbarian women, they are all women. Even if there is a poison, it is not poisonous, so it is not a problem."
"So that's how it is." Shi Yunqing suddenly understood. He stopped his horse to look and saw several shamans bringing down a young barbarian woman from the mountain. They forced her to kneel by the roadside, lifted her sarong, and raised her bare buttocks, holding her up with their hands while they shone torches around her.
Shi Yunqing rode over and saw that the woman couldn't struggle. The shamans held her buttocks up, exposing her vulva. Upon closer inspection, he realized she was no longer a virgin.
The shaman soldiers, having checked the female captive, were relieved. Two of them grabbed her arms, making her kneel with her mouth to the ground, while one of the shamans pulled out his penis from between his legs and began thrusting it in.
Shi Yunqing wasn't exactly a saint either, and he desperately wanted to take the opportunity to have some fun, but advancing to Bajiaoling was the priority. He had to restrain himself for now, planning to find an exceptional one among the captives after the battle.
Just then, chaos erupted on the mountain. A warhorse descended from the mountain path, carrying the female general He Axiu. She wielded a steel fork, struggling to advance through the encirclement, each step cleared by the blood of the sorcerer soldiers.
Wu Hahu exclaimed, "I didn't expect this vile woman to be so powerful! I fear my brother's life is in danger. I must capture her!" It turned out that Wu Hahu's sworn brother, Wu Yubao, had been the one who had surrounded the barbarian infantry. He Axiu's emergence indicated Wu Yubao's likely peril.
Shi Yunqing knew He Axiu's martial arts were exceptional and feared Wu Hahu was no match for her, so he spurred his horse up the mountain to aid Wu Hahu.
Upon reaching her, he found Wu Hahu also unable to defeat He Axiu. Shi Yunqing then rode forward, joining Wu Hahu in a two-on-one battle against He Axiu.
He Axiu's martial arts skills were inferior to Shi Yunqing's; she had even been wounded in the thigh by Shi Yunqing. After fighting Wu Yubao for over ten rounds and killing him, she charged down the mountain, only to be repeatedly blocked by Wu soldiers, expending considerable energy. Now, attacked from both sides, she was quickly reduced to merely parrying. After only three to five rounds, Shi Yunqing deflected her steel fork with a single stroke, rushed forward, grabbed her by the chest, and dragged her onto his horse.
Holding the captured He Axiu, Shi Yunqing spurred his horse down the mountain, leaving her to be bound by the soldiers.
With He Axiu captured, the remaining barbarian women lost their leader and became increasingly chaotic. Before long, some were killed, and others captured.
The barbarian female generals, mostly from noble families of the Southern Ridge, although diligently practicing martial arts, were not used to manual labor, resulting in more delicate skin and more beautiful appearances than the female barbarian soldiers. Wu Hahu glanced at He Axiu, who was even more beautiful than the female barbarian soldiers, and said to Shi Yunqing, "Now that the vanguard has captured this woman, why not have some fun?"
Shi Yunqing had the same idea, so he dragged the bound He Axiu over, ordered the soldiers to use torches to light her way, found a large blue stone, pressed He Axiu against the stone, lifted her buttocks, and personally pried open her vulva. She was indeed not a virgin. He Axiu did not struggle, letting him loosen her lower garments, reveal his penis, and he ejaculated inside her.
Shi Yunqing put on his clothes, and seeing Wu Hahu also going to rape He Axiu, he mounted his horse and ordered his soldiers that anyone who felt like it could find a barbarian woman to satisfy their lust, and after they were done, they should follow him to the Barbarian King's Cave. Fearing that the men's lust would lead to trouble, he said that the Barbarian King's Palace housed the Barbarian King He Li, along with the former Barbarian King Huang Mian, He Li's queen and concubines, all the most beautiful women in the Southern Mountains.
Some of the government troops, wanting to taste the princess's beauty, abandoned the barbarian women and followed Shi Yunqing south. The rest of the troops, only interested in immediate pleasure, lined up and raped each woman in turn before joining the ranks.
Of the 1,200 barbarian female infantrymen guarding the mountain gully, nearly 800 were killed and over 400 were captured. They could not withstand the humiliation inflicted by nearly 10,000 government troops and shamans. Even He Axiu was raped to death.
The government troops left behind by Shi Yunqing disemboweled He Axiu, removed her internal organs, pierced her vagina with a bamboo stick from her vulva to her skull, bound her hands and feet in front of her body, and preserved her in salt water in a large urn previously used by Shi Yunqing's supply camp. They then peeled and tanned the genitals of all the female corpses, strung them together with rope into dozens of strings, and hung them in the supply camp to dry. They searched the mountains again, finding and killing the scattered female cavalrymen one by one, capturing the rest, totaling about 170 or 180. Those killed were, as was customary, skinned and dried.
These female soldiers, along with the captured He Azhen, were imprisoned in the supply camp, all shackled. The military commander, hearing that the "Yin-Severing Powder" was ineffective against barbarian women who had lost their virginity first, ordered He Azhen and the other captives to be brought in, shackled, dragged to the ground, and lifted by one foot. He personally pried open their labia and examined their vulvas; finding them all virgins, he dared not rape them. However, he wouldn't let them go. When he had nothing else to do, he would put one in a shackle, then unbutton their short clothes, touching their breasts, and then lift their skirts, fondling their beautiful buttocks.
Meanwhile, Shi Yunqing led his men to the barbarian cave, only to find He Li had retreated into the large round tower, making it difficult to capture. He then ordered Wu Halong to continue surrounding the Great Round Tower, while he himself turned back and charged towards Jiudaogou.
The outcome of the battle at Jiudaogou remains to be seen; we shall find out in the next chapter.
