Chapter 9 Leaving the Forest

It was early summer, and the morning sun was warm and inviting.

On a quiet path, three figures were leisurely walking slowly from a distance. They seemed to be moving very slowly, but upon closer inspection, one would notice that with each step they took, they covered more than ten meters. In the blink of an eye, they were right in front of them: one man and two women. The man was handsome and refined, dressed in a long black robe. His eyebrows were like swords, his clear and bright eyes sparkled, his high and straight nose was strong, and his lips were thin, carrying a faint, almost imperceptible, wicked smile. One of the women was dressed in white, with long black hair cascading down her shoulders. She had cherry lips, a delicate nose, and skin as white as snow. Her breasts were slightly full, and her pair of bright black eyes were fixed on the man beside her the entire time, as if everything around her was irrelevant. The other woman wore a long emerald green dress, her large eyes darting left and right, constantly making "waa ... These three were Long Tianyu, Bai Suzhen, and Qingqing. They had been away from the forest for a month, but hadn't encountered a single person, so they still didn't know where they were.

"Husband, sister, look! There's a carriage over there!"

Actually, with Long Tianyu's cultivation level, he had already noticed the movement, but he didn't know what it was.

Following Qingqing's pointing, they saw an elderly man, about fifty years old, driving a slightly dilapidated carriage towards them.

"Husband, let's go ask."

"Yes."

Long Tianyu stopped the carriage and went forward to ask, "Master, may I ask where we are?" "This is Runan. Why did you bring these two young ladies with you? They're so beautiful, and there's a Yellow Turban rebellion in this area. If they find out, they'll be in trouble."

The old man kindly said.

"What? Yellow Turban rebellion? What dynasty is this now?"

Long Tianyu almost jumped up, grabbing the old man's collar and asking anxiously. He remembered that when he was undergoing his tribulation, it was already 2012. "The Yellow Turban Rebellion?" What a joke! That was the Eastern Han Dynasty. It was impossible to fail his tribulation and instantly travel to the Eastern Han.

"Cough cough... Let go, let go, you... you're holding me, I... how... how do we say it?"

"Oh, sorry, old man, I got a little excited. Tell me, tell me."

"Cough cough, this is the Eastern Han Dynasty, Emperor Ling is in power. You don't even know that?"

The old coachman touched his neck, looking at him as if he'd seen a ghost. (As for why this old man knew about the 'Eastern Han Dynasty' and the title 'Emperor Ling of Han,' please don't delve into that; well, this is fiction.) "Ahem."

Long Tianyu's handsome face flushed slightly. "My ancestors have lived in seclusion deep in the mountains and forests for generations. This is my first time out here. Sigh, old man, can you take us to Luoyang?"

"Luoyang? Sure, but I'm afraid we might encounter bandits on the way. These two young ladies' appearances might bring trouble."

"You don't need to worry about that. If we encounter such a thing, we'll handle it ourselves. Don't worry, we won't cause you any trouble. Here, consider this as travel expenses."

Saying this, he took out a hundred-year-old ginseng and tossed it to the old coachman. He had no gold or silver, so he could only give him the worst ginseng. Although this ginseng wasn't important to him, it was extremely precious to this old coachman. The silver he could get from it would be enough for him to live on for the rest of his life. "Alright, alright, haha, everyone, get in the carriage."

The old coachman couldn't stop smiling.

Afterwards, the four of them boarded a carriage and headed towards Luoyang.

At this moment, Long Tianyu fell into deep thought.

The Yellow Turban Rebellion began in the seventh year of the Guanghe era of Emperor Ling of Han (184 AD). At that time, the court was corrupt, eunuchs and relatives of the empress were constantly fighting, and there were continuous wars on the borders. The country was becoming weaker and weaker. In addition, due to a severe drought, the harvest failed but taxes were not reduced. At that time, Zhang Jiao learned the Taoist magic after receiving the "Taiping Yaoshu" from an immortal. Under the guise of distributing talismanic water, he recruited followers. Poor peasants with nowhere else to turn rose up under the command of Zhang Jiao from Julu. They tied yellow turbans on their heads and shouted the slogan: "The Azure Heaven is dead, the Yellow Heaven shall rise. In the year of Jiazi, the world will be blessed." "Azure Heaven" refers to the Eastern Han Dynasty, and "Yellow Heaven" refers to the Way of Peace. Moreover, according to the theory of the Five Elements, the Han Dynasty was associated with the element of fire. Fire generates earth, and earth is yellow. Therefore, the believers tied yellow turbans on their heads as a symbol to replace the corrupt Eastern Han Dynasty. On one hand, Zhang Jiao had people write the characters "甲子" (Jiazi) on the gates of government offices as a marker. On the other hand, he sent Ma Yuanyi to Jingzhou and Yangzhou to gather tens of thousands of people to prepare in Ye. He also went to Luoyang several times to collude with the eunuchs Feng Xu and Xu Feng, hoping to coordinate an attack from within and without. However, a month before the uprising, one of Zhang Jiao's disciples, Tang Zhou, betrayed him, revealing Ma Yuanyi as an inside agent in the capital. Ma Yuanyi was executed by dismemberment, and government troops massacred believers of the Way of Peace, implicating over a thousand people. An order was also issued to pursue Zhang Jiao in Jizhou. Due to the suddenness of the events, Zhang Jiao was forced to launch his uprising a month earlier, in February. This event is historically known as the Yellow Turban Rebellion or the Yellow Turban Rebellion. Because the rebels wore yellow turbans on their heads, they were called "Yellow Turbans" or "Moth Thieves." Zhang Jiao proclaimed himself "General of Heaven," while Zhang Bao and Zhang Liang were respectively "General of Earth" and "General of Man," and they started their uprising in the northern Jizhou area. They burned down government offices, killed officials and soldiers, and looted everywhere. Within a month, war broke out in seven provinces and twenty-eight counties across the country. The Yellow Turban Army advanced like a whirlwind, with provinces and counties falling, officials and soldiers fleeing, and the capital being shaken.

Emperor Ling of Han, seeing how powerful the Way of Peace was, hurriedly appointed He Jin as Grand General on the day of Wushen in the third month, leading the five battalions of the Imperial Guards to garrison at Duting, to prepare weapons and guard the capital. He also set up commandants to garrison various passes of the capital, including Hangu Pass, Dagu Pass, Guangcheng Pass, Yique Pass, Huanyuan Pass, Xuanmen Pass, Mengjin Pass, and Xiaopingjin Pass. He issued an edict to all regions to be on high alert, ordering all provinces and counties to prepare for war, train soldiers, prepare weapons, and gather righteous armies. For example, Liu Bei, with the help of merchants Zhang Shiping and Su Shuang, organized a rebel army and joined forces with Colonel Zou Jing to fight the rebels and make meritorious contributions. Huangfu Song submitted a memorial requesting the lifting of the ban on partisan parties, offering imperial funds and fine horses from the Western Garden to the soldiers to boost morale. Meanwhile, Lü Qiang advised Emperor Ling, "The partisan ban has been in place for a long time; if they conspire with the Yellow Turbans, it will be too late to save them."

Emperor Ling accepted the proposal, granting amnesty to the partisans on the day of Renzi, returning those who had been exiled, and ordering all officials to donate horses and crossbows, and to recommend the sons and grandsons of generals and those with strategic acumen from the common people to the Imperial Carriage Office for interviews. On the other hand, elite troops were dispatched to suppress rebellions in various regions: Lu Zhi, with his deputy Zong Yuan, led the Five Schools of the Northern Army to the northern front, engaging Zhang Jiao's main force; Huangfu Song and Zhu Jun each led an army, controlling the Five Schools, the Three Rivers Cavalry, and the Gang More than 40,000 elite soldiers and warriors were recruited to suppress the Yellow Turban Rebellion in the Yingchuan area. Zhu Jun again submitted a memorial to recruit Sun Jian from Xiapi as his assistant military commander. Sun Jian, along with local youths, merchants, and elite soldiers from the Huai and Si rivers, totaling more than 1,000 men, set out to join forces with Zhu Jun's army. On the day of Gengzi, Zhang Mancheng attacked and killed Chu Gong, the governor of Nanyang, in response to Zhang Jiao. The Han army did not gain any advantage in the first battle. In April, Zhu Jun's army was defeated by the Yellow Turban leader Bo Cai and retreated. Huangfu Song could only join him in defending Changshe, but the city was besieged by Bo Cai's large army. The Han army was outnumbered and its morale was low. In addition, the Yellow Turban army in Runan defeated the governor Zhao Qian in Shaoling, and the Yellow Turban army in Guangyang killed Guo Xun, the governor of Youzhou, and Liu Wei, the governor. The Yellow Turban army showed no signs of retreating despite the actions of the Han court.

In May, seeing Huangfu Song besieged, the capital dispatched Cao Cao with an army to his aid. However, before the reinforcements arrived, Huangfu Song devised a plan. At dusk, a strong wind blew, and Huangfu Song ordered his soldiers to secretly leave the city with torches. Using the weeds surrounding the Yellow Turban camp, they launched a fire attack, inflicting a major defeat on the enemy. Shouting an attack, the city walls responded with torches. Huangfu Song then rallied the troops with drums, charging into the enemy ranks. The Yellow Turban army was thrown into chaos and scattered. They then encountered Cao Cao's reinforcements and were attacked from three sides by Huangfu Song, Zhu Jun, and Cao Cao, resulting in the deaths of tens of thousands and a great victory for the Han army. In June, Qin Jie, the governor of Nanyang, fought and killed Zhang Mancheng. The Yellow Turban army then appointed Zhao Hong as their leader, and with over 100,000 men, occupied Wancheng. Meanwhile, Huangfu Song and Zhu Jun's army continued their advance against the Yellow Turbans in Runan and Chen, pursuing Bo Cai to Yangdi. Finally, they decisively defeated Peng Tuo at Xihua. The remaining troops attempted to flee to Wancheng, but Sun Jian scaled the city walls first, and the rest of the army swarmed in, routing the enemy and successfully pacifying the Yellow Turban forces in the Yuzhou region. On the other hand, Lu Zhi decisively defeated Zhang Jiao in several battles, killing over ten thousand. Zhang Jiao was forced to retreat to Guangzong, where Lu Zhi constructed fortifications, dug trenches, and built siege ladders, making it possible to capture the city. Just then, Emperor Ling sent Zuo Feng to inspect the military situation. Some advised Lu Zhi to bribe Zuo Feng, but Lu Zhi refused. Zuo Feng then falsely accused Lu Zhi of poor performance in battle to Emperor Ling. Emperor Ling was furious and summoned Lu Zhi back to the capital in a prison cart. The capital had no choice but to issue an edict for readjustment: Huangfu Song was to go north to Dongjun; Zhu Jun was to attack Zhao Hong in Nanyang; and Dong Zhuo was to replace Lu Zhi. Meanwhile, the Five Pecks of Rice sect, a similar religious movement, rebelled in Ba Commandery. Its leader, Zhang Xiu, known as the "Master of the Five Pecks of Rice," attacked the commandery, but his efforts were largely ignored by the Han court.

Zhu Jun, along with Xu Qiu, the governor of Jingzhou, and Qin Jie, led 18,000 troops to besiege Zhao Hong, but failed to capture the city between June and August. A memorial from the capital suggested recalling Zhu Jun, but Emperor Ling was persuaded to relent after Zhang Wen submitted a memorial on his behalf. Zhu Jun continued his relentless attack on Zhao Hong, who was killed and replaced by Han Zhong. Outnumbered, Zhu Jun expanded his defenses, built fortifications, and constructed earthen mounds to observe the city. Zhu Jun's army attacked the southwest with drums beating, drawing the Yellow Turban rebels away. Zhu Jun then personally led 5,000 elite troops to ambush the northeast, launching a surprise attack on the enemy's rear and breaching the city walls. Han Zhong was forced to retreat to the inner city. The Yellow Turban rebels, demoralized and demoralized, surrendered to the Han army. Zhang Chao, Xu Qiu, and Qin Jie all thought it acceptable, but Zhu Jun believed that accepting it would give the people the wrong impression that they would become bandits if there were benefits, and surrender if there were none. Therefore, he refused and launched a fierce attack on the enemy army. However, after several battles, he could not conquer them. Zhu Jun climbed a hill to observe the Yellow Turban army and realized that they had no way to retreat and were fighting with all their might, which is why he failed to conquer them. Zhu Jun then lifted the siege, and Han Zhong indeed came out to fight, but was defeated by Zhu Jun. Zhu Jun pursued Han Zhong northward for dozens of miles, killing more than 10,000 people. Han Zhong surrendered, and Qin Jie, who had always been at odds with Han Zhong, had him killed. This action made the Yellow Turban army uneasy, and they elected Sun Xia as their leader to garrison Wanzhong City. Zhu Jun launched another fierce attack, and on the day of Gui Si in November, Sun Xia was defeated and fled. The Han army pursued him to Xi'e Jing Mountain, where they were also defeated, killing Sun Xia and more than 10,000 people. The Yellow Turban army disbanded, and the Wanzhong area was pacified. In the spring of 185, he returned to the capital. On the other hand, Huangfu Song arrived at Cangting in Dongjun in August, decisively defeated and captured Bu Ji, and killed more than 7,000 people. Dong Zhuo's attack on Zhang Jiao failed, and he returned empty-handed. On the day of Yisi, he ordered Huangfu Song to continue north. However, Zhang Jiao had already died of illness. In October, he fought Zhang Liang at Guangzong. Zhang Liang's army was stubborn, and they could not conquer him in the first battle. The next day, Huangfu Song closed his camp and rested his soldiers. Meanwhile, he sent men to observe the enemy's movements. The Yellow Turban army's morale relaxed slightly, so Huangfu Song led his troops under cover of night, launching a surprise attack on the enemy's formation at dawn. By afternoon, he had successfully defeated the enemy, killing Zhang Liang and more than 30,000 people. More than 50,000 drowned while fleeing to the riverbank. More than 30,000 carts and supplies were burned, and many people were captured. Zhang Jiao's coffin was broken open, his corpse mutilated, and his head transported back to the capital. In November, Huangfu Song and Guo Dian, the governor of Julu, attacked and captured Quyang, successfully killing Zhang Bao and capturing more than 100,000 people. The Yellow Turban Rebellion was quelled.

Chapter 10: Encountering Guo Jia

"Sigh, I accidentally traveled to the Three Kingdoms period. Since I'm here, I might as well have some fun with those historical figures. I wonder if my arrival will bring any major changes to the Three Kingdoms."

Long Tianyu sighed.

Just then, the carriage suddenly stopped.

"Young master, someone is blocking the road ahead. He also wants a ride to Luoyang."

The coachman's voice rang out.

Long Tianyu pulled back the curtain and peeked out. A young man was blocking the carriage. He was dressed in a blue robe, handsome and dashing, with a handsome face, clear and bright eyes, and a high, straight nose. He gave off a pleasant and refreshing aura.

"Let him get in."

Long Tianyu had made up his mind.

The young man lifted the curtain and looked at the three people sitting in the carriage. He was stunned. He hadn't expected there to be anyone inside. When he saw the two women's faces, a hint of amazement flashed across his eyes, but his eyes remained very clear. Seeing Long Tianyu sitting between the two women, exuding an imposing aura, he was startled. Although his expression remained unchanged, his heart was in turmoil. He couldn't see into Long Tianyu's heart, couldn't guess his thoughts, and knew this man was no ordinary person. He cupped his hands in greeting to Long Tianyu, "My name is Guo Fengxiao. Thank you for allowing me to board the carriage, brother. May I ask your name?"

"Guo Fengxiao, a famous figure, one of the renowned strategists of the Three Kingdoms. I never expected to meet him here. It would be a disservice to myself not to recruit him."

Long Tianyu thought to himself. So he returned the greeting with an ancient bow, "Hehe, my name is Long Tianyu, courtesy name... Xiaoyao, you can just call me Xiaoyao. May I ask why Fengxiao is going to Luoyang?"

"I wander the world, so naturally I'm going to Luoyang to appreciate its prosperity. Xiaoyao, what about you? You're not here for sightseeing like me, are you? Hehe."

Guo Fengxiao said with a half-smile.

"Luoyang was the capital of the Han Dynasty, of course I had to see it. Oh, I forgot to introduce you, these two are my wives, this is Bai Suzhen, and this is Qingqing."

Long Tianyu pointed to the two women beside him.

The two women nodded in return; they would never lower themselves to a mortal.

Guo Jia was also very attentive, knowing that the two women were extraordinary.

"Xiaoyao is so lucky to have married these two goddess-like ladies."

"Hehe, having them is the greatest happiness of my life."

He looked at the two women tenderly as he spoke. Bai Suzhen and Qingqing were deeply moved by Long Tianyu's words.

"Hey, stop the car, stop the car quickly."

"Giddy up, giddy up... Oh... Young master, something bad has happened! We've really encountered bandits! Alas, in this chaotic world, how can anyone live like this?"

The coachman's anxious voice rang out from outside.

"Oh, bandits."

Long Tianyu lifted the carriage curtain and stepped out. Three burly men wielding gleaming long knives blocked his path. These men were dressed somewhat shabbily, their faces pale and malnourished. ) Seeing a young man dressed in a luxurious black robe emerge from the carriage, the three men thought they had struck gold and were overjoyed. They rushed forward, ready to rob him.

"Freeze," Long Tianyu uttered a single word. Without any visible movement, the three men stood there, still in their running posture, motionless, though their eyes darted around, revealing expressions of horror. They knew they had met their match. Suddenly, the three men felt a release, and with three soft "thuds," they collapsed to the ground, immediately kneeling before Long Tianyu, kowtowing loudly, and weeping as they pleaded, "Young Master, please forgive our folly! We have elderly parents and young children to support. You are a god-like figure; please just let us go like a fart."

Long Tianyu was somewhat amused and exasperated. "What happened to you? How did you become bandits?"

"Alas, we had no choice. The emperor is incompetent, and the taxes are countless. Farmers can't survive by farming. Besides, there's chaos and war everywhere. If we could have enough to eat and wear, why would we have to resort to banditry? However, we've never killed anyone, and we only steal a little. We just want enough to eat." Hearing

this, Long Tianyu couldn't help but sigh. The Yellow Turban Rebellion had caused the Eastern Han Dynasty to be shrouded in war, but they couldn't be entirely blamed. The court was incompetent, and the people couldn't survive.

"By the way, do your families know you've become bandits?"

"We don't have any families anymore. They're either dead or scattered."

Seeing Long Tianyu's tone, the three knew he wouldn't kill them, so they told the truth.

"Then, why don't you follow me from now on? Are you willing?"

Long Tianyu thought that he was in the Three Kingdoms, unfamiliar with the place, and would definitely need a few familiar people to help him make arrangements.

"Yes, yes, thank you, young master, thank you."

The three nodded hurriedly. In the current chaos, being able to rely on someone with great power was very important, so they agreed without hesitation.

Among the three, the eldest was called Shi Kai, the second was called Shi Da, and the youngest was called Shi Qiang; they were three brothers.

As for Guo Jia, after seeing Long Tianyu's god-like performance, he was already dumbfounded, somewhat frightened and excited. He couldn't help but clasp his hands and say, "Master, please accept my bow."

Before Long Tianyu could react, he knelt down and kowtowed three times.

Long Tianyu was somewhat amused and exasperated. "You want to become my disciple? Why?"

"Master, you're like a god, someone I've long admired. In this life, I have no attachments, wandering the world alone. I thought I had no more desires in this life, but I never expected to meet a god. I don't want to miss this opportunity. Master, please take me in! I will serve you faithfully without complaint."

Looking at Guo Fengxiao kneeling before him, Long Tianyu was somewhat moved. Guo Jia was of good character, had good aptitude, a gentle nature, and was intelligent—truly suitable for cultivation. Thinking of this, Long Tianyu helped him up and glanced at him.

"You can become my disciple if you wish, but you must abide by the rules of cultivation. I wonder if you can do that?"

"Yes, I certainly can! Master, please tell me."

Guo Jia's tone was somewhat excited.

"Actually, there aren't many rules. First, you can't use immortal techniques to do anything immoral; second, you can't betray your sect; third... as for the third, I haven't thought of it yet, that's all."

"It's that simple? Okay, Master, I can definitely do it."

Guo Jia was a little incredulous.

"Well, then I'll teach you the 'Mysterious Purity Technique' first. This technique should suit you. Close your eyes and don't resist. By the way, don't call me Master anymore, just call me Young Master."

With that, Long Tianyu used his spiritual power to transmit the technique to Guo Jia. The 'Mysterious Purity Technique,' like the 'Cloud and Water Technique,' can only be cultivated up to the Tribulation Transcending stage, but the former is more suitable for people with a pure and tranquil personality. At the same time, Long Tianyu didn't neglect either, and also gave the three Shi brothers three techniques, but they weren't as good as the 'Mysterious Purity Technique' and the 'Cloud and Water Technique,' and could only be cultivated up to the Integration stage. However, for the three brothers, it was like finding a treasure. This was an immortal technique that could grant immortality if cultivated, something they had never dreamed of.

With a neighing cry, the horse galloped off, the wheels turning, and Long Tianyu and his group continued their journey towards Luoyang.

On the morning of the third day, they arrived in Luoyang. Long Tianyu had used four Rebirth Pills to help Guo Jia and the three Shi brothers establish their foundations, but due to the short cultivation time, their cultivation levels were still too low.

At the city gate, rows of fierce-looking soldiers, steel swords at their waists and clad in armor, stood guard. These were veterans of battle, exuding a menacing aura that genuinely frightened ordinary people. These soldiers set up a checkpoint at the gate, requiring everyone entering the city to pay a fee and undergo thorough questioning and inspection. Knowing that Long Tianyu had no money, the coachman offered to pay the entrance fee for them.

"Stop! Stop! Everyone in the carriage, get out! We need to check you!"

shouted one of the soldiers.

"Sir, could you please do us a favor and not check the people in the carriage?"

The coachman took out some loose silver and handed it to the soldier leader.

The soldier took the silver. "That's right. Alright, the carriage is fine, no need to check, let it through."

He shouted to his men.

The carriage slowly drove into Luoyang City. Long Tianyu looked at the tall city gate and couldn't help but feel a deep sense of emotion. Now Dong Zhuo occupied Luoyang, and the guards were all Xiliang soldiers. Ordinary people had to pay to enter the city. The exploitation of the people was evident. As soon as they entered

the city gate, Long Tianyu and the two women got off the carriage. They felt a heavy weight of history, carrying an aura of vicissitudes, as if telling of past hardships.

"Husband, where are we going now?"

Bai Suzhen interrupted Long Tianyu's sentimentality and asked softly.

Long Tianyu put aside his desolate feelings, looked into the distance, and said to Shi Kai, "Shi Kai, go and sell these ginseng roots for some money, then book a few rooms at an inn." "Yes, young master."

Shi Kai took the things and left.

"Oh, by the way, old man, here's the ginseng for you, consider it payment!"

"Thank you, young master."

He wasn't being pretentious; unlike the three Shi brothers, he had a family to support.

"Husband, let's go shopping."

Qingqing shook Long Tianyu's arm, looking at him expectantly. The two women had put on face masks after getting out of the car, covering their faces, otherwise they would feel embarrassed if everyone stared at them. However, their curvaceous figures and the noble aura they exuded still attracted a lot of attention.

"Alright, since we're in Luoyang, of course we should have a good look around."

"Yay, husband, sister, let's go!"

Qingqing was a little excited.

In the market, vendors hawked their wares along the streets, and crowds thronged the area. The two women pulled Long Tianyu along, looking here and there. Whenever they saw something they liked, they bought it without hesitation and stuffed it into Long Tianyu's hands. Shi Kai paid the bill. Finally, Long Tianyu couldn't carry any more and said to the two women with a wry smile, "Suzhen, Qingqing, aren't you tired? Why don't we go to the inn to rest for a while?"

The two women blushed slightly at the large pile of things Long Tianyu was carrying and said shyly, "Okay, husband, let's go to the inn."

Chapter 11: Enchanted Night

At night, the stars twinkled, and the moonlight was alluring. The once bustling market had fallen silent, leaving only the chirping of crickets hidden somewhere and the incessant clatter of the night watchman's gong.

Suddenly, a dark figure darted into a guest room.

"Who's there?"

A clear, melodious voice rang out.

"Wife, it's me,"

Long Tianyu said in a low voice.

"Husband, what are you doing here so late?"

Bai Suzhen asked, somewhat puzzled.

"Well, I've been missing you, my wife,"

Long Tianyu replied awkwardly.

"Ah, husband, I'm so embarrassed! This is an inn, and Xiaoqing is next door!"

Bai Suzhen blushed crimson, her head almost buried in her breasts.

"Hehe, that's alright."

Without waiting for Bai Suzhen's refusal, he quickly stripped off his clothes and climbed into her bed amidst her screams. Luckily, he had set up a soundproof barrier, otherwise, her scream would have been heard by everyone in the inn.

Long Tianyu held Bai Suzhen's soft, delicate body in his arms. She was only wearing a pure white bodice and white panties. Her snow-white skin captivated Long Tianyu. He reached out his right hand and caressed her breasts through the bodice, while his left hand held her buttocks. Waves of soft touch traveled through the skin-to-skin contact, sending shivers of desire through him. He grabbed one breast in each hand and kneaded it vigorously. Long Tianyu buried his head between Bai Suzhen's breasts and licked her cleavage through the bodice. The alluring scent of her breasts filled his nose. He took one nipple into his mouth and nibbled on it. "Ah!"

Bai Suzhen couldn't bear the stimulation and cried out.

Hearing Bai Suzhen's cry, Long Tianyu became even more excited. He felt the red bean in his mouth slowly hardening, and he could no longer control himself. He quickly pulled off Bai Suzhen's panties and pure white bodice, then grabbed her smooth thighs, spread them apart, and guided his dragon spear to the pink valley in the grass. He thrust hard. "Ah! It's swollen, a little swollen!" Bai Suzhen felt her valley swell. Although it wasn't the first time, Long Tianyu's dragon spear was just too big, making her feel a little overwhelmed.

"It'll be fine in a bit, just hold on."

Long Tianyu inhaled sharply. His dragon spear was enveloped by something soft and warm, feeling incredibly comfortable. Then he began to thrust again.

"Ah...ah...husband, it feels so good."

With Long Tianyu's up and down thrusting, Bai Suzhen had gotten used to it.

"Ah...I can't take it anymore...ah...I'm coming..."

Bai Suzhen trembled all over, gripping Long Tianyu tightly.

As Bai Suzhen reached her climax, Long Tianyu's phallus was gripped tightly within her flower bud by a powerful suction force. Waves of pleasurable sensations, like electric currents, quickly spread throughout his body. Unable to withstand the stimulation, his burning desire, like a water cannon, shot entirely into her peach-like flower bud.

"Ah...so hot...so beautiful..."

Bai Suzhen trembled, letting out a moan.

Long Tianyu held Bai Suzhen's slender waist with both hands, his cheek pressed against her soft breasts, his dragon spear remaining in her valley, and he fell asleep on top of her.

In the morning, bright sunlight streamed through the window, illuminating Long Tianyu, feeling warm and cozy. It was early winter, and the weather was getting colder, but Long Tianyu, with his profound cultivation, was impervious to heat and cold and felt no chill.

Long Tianyu blinked, feeling the softness in his arms. He opened his eyes and saw the fair skin and two red nipples before him. Overwhelmed with desire, he kissed one of the nipples, then thrust his still-erect member inside Bai Suzhen. Bai Suzhen opened her eyes, letting out a soft moan, and another intense battle began. It ended in Bai Suzhen's defeat, leaving her unable to lift a finger. Lying in Long Tianyu's arms, she looked at him with a seductive expression, her entire being exuding intoxicating charm.

"Sister, do you know where our husband is? There's no one in his room,"

Qingqing knocked on the door.

"Husband, get up quickly! Xiaoqing is here! Where's my undergarment? Help me find it!"

Bai Suzhen jumped around anxiously, afraid of being caught red-handed by Qingqing.

"Hehe, it's alright."

Long Tianyu said nonchalantly. "Qingqing, I'm here. Your sister and I will be there soon."

"Oh, hurry up! It seems quite lively at the Cai residence. I saw a lot of people heading that way."

Qingqing didn't care why Long Tianyu was in her sister's room. She just urged Long Tianyu to hurry.

When Long Tianyu and Bai Suzhen were dressed and opened the door, they saw Qingqing standing prettily at the door. When she saw Long Tianyu come out, she hugged him tightly, rubbing her soft breasts against his arm.

"Hurry, husband, it'll be too late if we don't go now."

She said, pulling Long Tianyu outside.

Long Tianyu also noticed the strangeness on the street. He grabbed someone and asked what was going on. It turned out that it was a poetry and song gathering held by Cai Yong's daughter, Cai Wenji. Of course, an ordinary poetry and song gathering wouldn't be this popular. The key was that Cai Wenji might choose her ideal husband at this gathering, so everyone was rushing to attend.

Speaking of Cai Wenji, Long Tianyu was very interested. Cai Wenji was from Chenliu (present-day Qi County, Kaifeng, Henan Province) in the late Eastern Han Dynasty. Her father was Cai Yong, a famous figure in the Eastern Han Dynasty. Cai Yong was a great writer and calligrapher. Born into such a family, Cai Wenji was naturally influenced by her family from a young age. She was learned and eloquent, skilled in poetry and prose, and also had a talent for debate and music. It can be said that Cai Wenji had a happy childhood. Unfortunately, the changing times interrupted this happiness. The corruption of the Eastern Han government eventually led to the Yellow Turban Rebellion, which allowed the local power represented by powerful landlords to expand. After General He Jin was killed by the Ten Attendants, Yuan Shao, Cao Cao, and other generals of He Jin executed the Ten Attendants in Luoyang. After Dong Zhuo entered the capital, in order to consolidate his rule, he deliberately won over Cai Yong, who was famous throughout the capital. He promoted Cai Yong three times in one day, visited the three highest offices in three days, appointed him as a General of the Palace Attendants, and later even enfeoffed him as the Marquis of Gaoyang. Dong Zhuo's tyrannical actions in the court provoked a united opposition from various local forces. Dong Zhuo burned Luoyang, moved the capital to Chang'an, and was eventually killed by Lü Bu. Cai Yong was also arrested and punished by the Court of Justice.

Cai Wenji married Wei Zhongdao at the age of 16. The Wei family was a prominent clan in Hedong at the time, and Wei Zhongdao was an outstanding scholar. The couple were deeply in love, but their happiness was short-lived. Less than a year later, Wei Zhongdao died of hemoptysis. Cai Wenji had never borne any children, and the Wei family blamed her for her husband's death. The proud and talented Cai Wenji disregarded her father's objections and resolutely returned to her parents' home. Later, her father died in prison, and Wenji was captured by the Xiongnu. She was only 23 years old at the time and was taken as a queen by the Left Wise King. She lived among the Southern Xiongnu for 12 years and had two sons. During this time, she also learned to play the "Hu Jia" (a type of reed pipe instrument) and some foreign languages.

In 208 AD, Cao Cao, mindful of his friendship with Cai Yong, learned that Cai Wenji had been taken captive by the Southern Xiongnu. He immediately dispatched Zhou Jin as an envoy with a thousand taels of gold and a pair of white jade discs to ransom her. That year, at the age of thirty-five, she married Dong Si, a military officer, under Cao Cao's arrangement. The famous Battle of Red Cliffs broke out that same year.

Initially, Cai Wenji's marriage to Dong Si was not harmonious. Having endured much hardship and sorrow, Cai Wenji was often absent-minded; while Dong Si, in his prime, was handsome, well-versed in history and music, and held himself in high esteem. He naturally felt somewhat inadequate towards Cai Wenji, but under pressure from the Prime Minister, he had no choice but to accept her. The following year, Dong Si committed a capital crime. Disregarding past grievances, she rushed to Cao Cao's Prime Minister's residence, disheveled and frantic, to plead for his life. Cao Cao, remembering his past friendship with Cai Yong and considering Cai Wenji's tragic life, knew that if Dong Si were executed, Wenji would be unable to survive. Therefore, he pardoned Dong Si.

From then on, Dong Si, grateful for his wife's kindness, re-evaluated Cai Wenji. The couple, having seen through the ways of the world, moved upstream along the Luo River to live in a scenic, wooded mountain area. Years later, Cao Cao, while hunting, passed through the area and visited them. Cai Wenji and Dong Si had a son and a daughter; their daughter married Sima Shi, the son of Sima Yi.

Cai Wenji's life was full of hardship. Ding Yi, in his "Ode to Cai Bojie's Daughter," described her marriage: "She was the daughter of a prominent family, endowed with natural divine wisdom; at the tender age of sixteen, she shone brightly like a radiant flower in the forest.

She understood the principles of the Six Categories of Literature, and was versed in the language of female historians; having received the clear teachings of the court, her talent was bright and insightful."

In the auspicious month of spring, when the time is almost over; I wear a light crimson robe, adorned with gold and jade ornaments.

I envy the flourishing of life, and grieve for the heavy frost; how can we expect to grow old together? Let us enjoy our remaining years to the fullest.

"Cai Wenji should only be thirteen or fourteen years old now, which means she's not married yet, hehe! Doesn't that mean I might be able to take her into my harem? Haha, I'm so clever!"

Long Tianyu thought mischievously.

"Husband, you don't have designs on Cai Wenji, do you? Your smile is so creepy."

Qingqing shivered beside him, but then continued, "Yes, husband, I support you. You must win her over. Like my sister and I."

"What are you saying?"

Long Tianyu tapped her head. "Well, that's a good idea. Come on, let's call the four of them, and we'll go together."

Qingqing stuck out her tongue and muttered, "Sigh! Another sister is coming."

In the open space in front of the Cai residence, a large arena had been set up, adorned with red embroidered balls and surrounded by people ranging in age from eight to eighty. When Long Tianyu and his group reached the outer edge of the crowd, they found that the arena was packed with people, giving them no chance to even get close.

He shook his head and couldn't help but smile wryly, "So people in ancient times were this crazy too."

"Clang...clang..."

An elderly man, appearing to be around 60 years old and resembling a butler, tapped a few times on a bronze plate with a hammer, addressing the crowd below: "Distinguished heroes, talented gentlemen, my young lady is holding a poetry and song contest here. The aim is to collect outstanding works and allow you talented gentlemen to compete. Only the winner will have the opportunity to meet my young lady and have a heart-to-heart talk with her. Now, let me explain the rules. The competition will be divided into three rounds. In the first round, you will write a poem or essay on any object around this arena. The top three will receive three points: first place, two points, and one point. In the second round, you will write a poem or essay that you yourself consider to be..." The best of your own compositions will also be selected, and the top three will be scored in the same way as above. As for the third round, only the person with the highest total score will have a chance. Hehe, all you have to do is answer one question for my young lady. Alright, everyone, let's begin now. Remember, you only have three minutes to come up with your ideas."

Chapter 12 Cai Yan's Thoughts

Below the stage, groups of scholars kept shaking their heads and swaying back and forth, sometimes frowning, sometimes nodding. Folding fans opened and closed repeatedly. It was the dead of winter, and no one knew what they were doing with those fans. As for those big, uneducated bumpkins who couldn't read a single word, they imitated those scholars, shaking their heads and swaying as if to show off that they were scholars.

Our protagonist, Long Tianyu, smiled and said, "Hehe, writing poetry is my forte! Let me pretend to be a literary thief! My dear Su Dongpo, my dear Liu Sanbian, and Li Yu and Yan Jidao, oh Mi Tofu, sorry, I wish you all the best, Amen!"

"Time's up, please come up on stage and show us your works!"

"I'll go first."

A young man in a blue robe and holding a folding fan was the first to step onto the stage without hesitation. The man's blue robe was patched in several places, suggesting he was from a poor family. He gazed at the pine tree before him, paced a few steps, and then slowly recited: "The pine stands tall on the mountain, the wind rustles in the valley.

How strong the wind's sound, how sturdy the pine branches! Even

in the face of frost and ice, it remains upright throughout the year.

Though it suffers the freezing cold, the pine and cypress have their inherent nature.

What do you think, everyone? Please appreciate it."

"Wonderful! Wonderful! This poem captures character and integrity, using the pine's resilience to symbolize human uprightness. A good poem, a good poem!"

"What good poem? I don't think so. Watch mine."

A burly man with a full beard, looking like an uncle, strode onto the platform. The platform was at least a meter high, and he jumped up in one go, clearly a trained fighter.

"Listen, one lump, two lumps, three or four lumps, five lumps, six lumps, seven or eight lumps, nine lumps, ten lumps, eleven lumps, twelve lumps, and thirteen lumps. How about that, catchy, right? It's fucking well written, haha..."

"Good, good, haha... Brother Tiger, we support you."

A roar erupted from the audience.

"Good my ass, this poem is just like you, a lump of... shit! Haha..."

Long Tianyu laughed loudly, speaking slowly. Seeing that no one dared to contradict the big man, he couldn't help but leap onto the stage and mock him.

"Kid! Who are you calling names? Looking for death, huh?"

Saying this, he ran up to Long Tianyu and slammed a huge fist at him. Seeing that he didn't dodge, everyone closed their eyes, unable to bear seeing him bleeding from the head. After waiting for a long time without hearing any sound, he opened his eyes and saw Long Tianyu holding the fist in one hand. The burly man's face turned red, but he couldn't take a step forward. With a crack, "Ah!" the burly man screamed as Long Tianyu broke his arm. Then, Long Tianyu casually tossed the man off the stage, where he clutched his arm and howled in agony.

"Young brother, why don't we just let it go? The arena needs to continue,"

the steward on the stage said, surprised by the turn of events, and hurriedly tried to persuade him.

"Alright, but I'll recite a poem next!"

"Thank you, please continue!"

Long Tianyu glanced at the red plum blossoms peeking out from behind the Cai family wall, thought for a moment, and recited: "Afraid of sorrow and drowsy, it blooms late, fearing its icy beauty is out of season. It feigns the color of small red peaches and apricots, still retaining its solitary, slender, snow-frost-covered form. Its cold heart refuses to follow the spring's ways, a wine blush inexplicably rises on its jade-like skin. The old poet doesn't know the plum's true nature, looking only at the green leaves and branches. Blooming in the snow is late, how can it compare to monopolizing the early spring? It also knows that the Creator has a deep meaning, thus bestowing upon it rouge to reveal its wondrous beauty. Fine rain soaks up a thousand tears, a light chill thins its skin by a fraction. It shouldn't be mixed with the withered peaches and apricots, a hint of tartness already clings to the branches. The recluse regrets his late arrival at spring, not seeing the sandalwood heart before it blooms. The elixir of life is a treasure, the jade beauty's cheeks are even more beautiful. The hidden buds, embracing the cluster, are just beginning to hold their seeds, the fragrance of the falling wine already permeates the skin." " I beg Xu Xi for a new painting pattern, where a slanting branch shines brightly among the bamboo."

This is a poem about red plum blossoms written by Su Shi, and now he uses it to depict that branch of red plum blossoms, which is quite fitting.

"Well done, well done, this poem is so delicate..."

The cheers from the audience continued. Long Tianyu knew that with this poem, he would definitely get first place. Sure enough, apart from a few better poems, the rest were mediocre, and Long Tianyu successfully got first place. Second place went to the young man who had come on stage first, whose poem using the pine tree as a metaphor for people was indeed good.

"Next, for the second round, please show your masterpieces!"

The crowd below the stage was enthusiastic, and people kept going up to the stage to present poems, which were indeed of better quality than the previous round.

Long Tianyu walked onto the stage and thought of Su Shi's "Prelude to Water Melody," which was his favorite poem in his previous life. As he thought, he couldn't help but think of his friends in his hometown and his deceased master. Now, there probably wasn't anyone going to pay respects to him or offer incense to him. Long Tianyu was somewhat downcast, his dark eyes slightly moist. Seeing the encouraging looks from the two women below the stage, he composed himself and began to sing softly: "When will the moon be clear and bright? With a cup of wine in hand, I ask the blue sky. I wonder what year it is tonight in the celestial palace? I long to ride the wind and return, yet I fear the jade towers and crystal palaces are too cold at such heights. I dance with my shadow, how can it compare to being in the human world! The moon turns through the red pavilion, shines low through the painted windows, illuminating my sleeplessness. There should be no resentment, yet why is the moon always full when we are apart? People have sorrow and joy, separation and reunion, just as the moon has its phases of waxing and waning. Such things are rarely perfect. I only wish that we may

live long and share the beauty of the moon, even though we are thousands of miles apart." His voice was poignant and lingering. Long Tianyu sang it three times, and the crowd fell silent; you could hear a pin drop. Many people silently shed tears. The two women were also deeply moved, wiping away their tears with their sleeves from time to time. Finding that the tears were increasing, they simply let them flow freely, soaking their clothes.

At the Cai residence, Long Tianyu was invited into the mansion by the steward. Having undoubtedly won first place with his rendition of "Shuidiao Getou," he instructed the others to return to the inn. He followed the steward into the mansion, glancing at the path he was taking in out of the corner of his eye. The surrounding area was lush with greenery, strangely shaped peaks and rocks, pavilions and towers, winding paths leading to secluded spots—a veritable paradise on earth. The two walked along a gravel path; although it was winter, the sides were still vibrant with life, the fragrance of plum blossoms delightful. Reaching the end, they turned a corner and came upon a bamboo fence, its ivy spreading and full of life. They walked along the fence for a while, and then a delicate little pavilion came into view. Beside the pavilion was a pool of emerald green water. A woman sat with her back to him, knees bent, chin resting on her hand, lost in thought.

"Miss, Young Master Long has arrived."

"Hmm, you may go!"

the woman said to the steward, turning back to him.

Long Tianyu finally saw her face clearly. Her lips were naturally red, her eyebrows naturally dark, without any makeup or hairpins. She had an oval face, willow-leaf eyebrows, and eyes as clear as lake water, staring at him without blinking. She wore a honey-colored cotton-padded jacket, a rose-purple two-tone gold and silver fur-trimmed vest, and a pale yellow silk cotton skirt. On her delicate feet were pink cotton shoes adorned with emerald green ribbons. She exuded an aura of tranquility. Long Tianyu sized her up, and she sized him up too. He had a handsome face, thick, sword-like eyebrows, and dark eyes that held a mysterious glint. A faint, almost imperceptible, wicked smile played on his lips, radiating a fatal attraction that made her heart race. He was tall and slender, head held high, truly a magnificent and extraordinary figure. She parted her cherry-like lips slightly: "I read your poem. It's very evocative, with delicate emotional expression and a unique style that's refreshing. By the way, I still don't know your name."

Her voice was clear and melodious, soothing to the ear. Long Tianyu didn't reply, but simply gazed at her quietly, finding the girl before him quite charming. Although only thirteen, she was already fully developed, with curves in all the right places, and a height approaching five feet. Long Tianyu only knew that people in ancient times were precocious in character, but he hadn't expected them to be precocious in body as well.

"Hey, talk to me! What are you looking at? Still looking?"

she said coquettishly.

She was, after all, only thirteen years old, still retaining the innocence and cuteness of a young girl. Looking at her pouting lips, Long Tianyu really wanted to savor their flavor. Putting aside his random thoughts, Long Tianyu cleared his throat and said to her, "Long Tianyu, courtesy name Xiaoyao, you don't need to introduce yourself. Your name is Cai Yan, courtesy name Wenji. Enough of that, what's the question? Hurry up and answer, if you answer correctly we can consummate our marriage."

(Cai Yan's courtesy name should now be Zhaoji, but I'll just use Wenji here to avoid changing it later.) "What? Consummate our marriage! When did I say I was going to marry you?"

Cai Yan was taken aback, tightening her clothes and looking at Long Tianyu strangely.

"Didn't you say that whoever answers the question correctly will be your husband? Was this a lie? Damn it! Are you kidding me?! I'm done! If you don't give me an explanation, I'll take you home by force today!"

Long Tianyu said angrily.

"How can you be like this? I only said the victor would have a chance to meet me! How was I supposed to know that my words would change once they got out?"

Cai Yan was also anxious, genuinely afraid that Long Tianyu would do something outrageous. Tears welled up in her eyes as she looked at him pitifully.

"Who spread that damned rumor, making me so happy for nothing? I'm too lazy to answer your questions. I'm leaving... I'm really leaving."

Long Tianyu seemed to be playing hard to get.

Cai Yan didn't speak, only secretly shedding tears. In fact, she already had feelings for Long Tianyu. His literary talent and his appearance deeply attracted her. However, being a shy young woman, she was too embarrassed to confess to Long Tianyu. In her heart, she kept blaming him for not being considerate of her. The more she thought about it, the more bitter she became, and she sobbed, her large eyes constantly falling.

When Long Tianyu saw Cai Yan crying, he panicked, not knowing what to do. He gritted his teeth, ran over, and hugged her tightly, patting her back repeatedly.

Cai Yan struggled a couple of times but couldn't break free, so she let him do as he pleased, burying her head in his chest, her shoulders still heaving.

"Are you feeling better? I'm sorry, I just thought you didn't like me."

"It's all your fault, it's all your fault, I liked you the moment I saw you, but you... but you..."

Cai Yan kept pounding his chest with her pink fist, whimpering, then blushed and buried herself in his chest, refusing to come out.

Chapter 13 True Martial Dual Cultivation

"Cough cough."

"Father, why are you here?"

Cai Yan quickly pushed Long Tianyu away, her face flushed red. She stood to the side with her head down, not daring to look at Cai Yong.

"What, can't I come? Did I bother you? In your eyes, do you even have me as your father? Hugging and kissing other people, how improper!"

Cai Yong said, pretending to be serious.

Cai Yan's eyes reddened with anxiety, and she sobbed incessantly, "Father, does he like me? Father, please!"

Long Tianyu remained silent. He had already guessed Cai Yong's thoughts. He must have seen the poem "Shuidiao Getou" earlier—a timeless masterpiece. Cai Yong, being a literary figure, must have loved the poem and admired Long Tianyu's talent. He genuinely hoped Long Tianyu would become his son-in-law. However, he was also worried. After all, with war raging everywhere, talent alone wouldn't guarantee longevity. Yet, his daughter loved him dearly, leaving him in a dilemma, unsure of what to do.

Seeing Cai Yong's hesitation, Cai Yan knelt down.

"Father, I truly love Xiaoyao Jun. Please agree! Otherwise, I'll kill myself!"

With that, she jumped into the nearby lake, and with a "plop," Cai Yan sank into the water.

"Wenji, no! I..."

Before Cai Yong could finish speaking, his daughter jumped into the water.

Actually, Long Tianyu had the ability to stop Cai Yan when she jumped, but he didn't. He wanted to use this opportunity to demonstrate his abilities to Cai Yong, to show him that he could protect Cai Yan and give her happiness. He stretched out his right hand and shouted at the lake, "Rise!"

A huge waterbed slowly rose from where Cai Yan had jumped, and Cai Yan was sobbing on it. The silly girl didn't know what was happening; she was only crying and didn't realize she had been lifted up. Long Tianyu flew onto the waterbed and hugged Cai Yan. Seeing it was Long Tianyu, she didn't think much of it and hugged his strong waist, crying even louder. In the dead of winter, Cai Yan was soaked to the bone, shivering from the cold, her lips turning blue. Long Tianyu channeled his inner energy into her body and used it to dry her clothes. Cai Yan felt a warm current flow through her, and her clothes dried completely. She was no longer cold; on the contrary, she felt a little warm. Knowing that this must have been done by Long Tianyu, she couldn't help but look up at him with her tear-streaked face, saying haltingly, "Xiaoyao Jun, do you know martial arts?"

"Hehe, yes, from now on you'll call me husband. How could you be so silly! Don't do that again."

Long Tianyu affectionately patted her head.

"Yes, my husband, I'll listen to you."

"Wenji, sigh! What can I say? It's not that I disagree with you marrying Xiaoyao, how can you be so careless with your life? You're my only daughter, how can I live if you die? Sigh!"

Cai Yong sighed repeatedly, then said to Long Tianyu, "Xiaoyao, are you human or demon?"

Long Tianyu was startled, his heart tightening. Had he discovered something? He gave an ugly smile: "Of course I'm human."

"What kind of martial arts do you practice? How are you so powerful? Now that I'm entrusting Wenji to you, I'm relieved. You must treat her well, otherwise, I'll risk my old bones to get revenge."

He no longer objected to Cai Yan and Long Tianyu being together; no, he desperately hoped that he would become his son-in-law. He was both scholarly and martial, a rare find.

"Father-in-law, rest assured, I will treat Wenji well and will never let her suffer any injustice."

Long Tianyu looked at Cai Yan with tenderness, while Cai Yan nestled shyly in Long Tianyu's arms, her heart filled with happiness.

"By the way, Father-in-law, could you find me a residence nearby? I'm currently staying at an inn."

Long Tianyu thought for a moment; he didn't have a good place to go yet and could only stay in Luoyang for the time being before making any plans.

"You can just stay at the residence. This Cai residence will be yours in the future; why bother looking for a place outside?"

“No, Father-in-law, if I stay in your residence, outsiders will definitely have something to say. As your son-in-law, I can't let you lose face. Besides, I'm going to marry Wenji, and it's really difficult to do things without a decent residence.”

Cai Yong thought about it and felt it made sense, so he agreed.

In the end, Cai Yong found a large mansion for Long Tianyu not far from his own residence. The original owner was also a high-ranking official, but later offended Dong Zhuo and his entire family was executed, and the mansion was confiscated. However, with Cai Yong's connections, it wasn't too difficult to get the mansion.

Long Tianyu and his party moved into the new mansion. At Long Tianyu's request, the new mansion was named "Xiaoyao Mansion," with his father-in-law Cai Yong writing the name. The entire mansion covered more than a thousand acres, with carved beams and painted rafters, artificial hills and flowing water—it was indeed a fine place. Looking at the deserted courtyard, Long Tianyu felt it was wasteful to have only a few people living in such a large mansion. So he personally drafted a notice recruiting maids. The requirements were: healthy, young and beautiful, no regard to background, but must be virgins, and between twelve and twenty-eight years old. Although the requirements were high, the monthly salary was doubled. The notice caused an immediate sensation; the monthly salary was substantial. Every day, the entrance to the Xiaoyao Mansion was crowded with young women in their late teens and early twenties. Bai Suzhen, Qingqing, Shencha, and Cai Yan made their selections. Recently, Cai Yan had been visiting the Xiaoyao Mansion daily, having become quite familiar with Bai Suzhen and Qingqing, and they had accepted each other as sisters. The three of them knew their master's temperament; he only chose beautiful and pretty women, which they found pleasing to the eye. The recruitment process lasted three days, resulting in the selection of fifty maids, all young and beautiful. Long Tianyu was overjoyed; if he could secretly enjoy their company, he would be even happier. He assigned four of the fifty maids to Long Tianyu, the most beautiful among them. Bai Suzhen named them Chuntao, Xiahe, Qiujin, and Dongmei. Since they were all children from poor families, they didn't seem to care much about changing their names. These four were responsible for Long Tianyu's daily needs.

Long Tianyu thought Bai Suzhen and the others had good taste. Chuntao was eighteen years old, with a gentle and quiet personality, a tall figure, long legs, and a full bust that made her maid's outfit bulge, as if it were about to burst out. Xiahe was petite and somewhat timid, only twelve years old, but her breasts were even larger than Chuntao's, swaying as she walked, making Long Tianyu a little dizzy—a typical case of a child's face and large breasts. Qiu Jin, fifteen years old this year, is the most beautiful of the four, with fair skin like snow. She is quiet and reserved, not talkative, and good at taking care of others. As for Dong Mei, she has big eyes and long, fluttering eyelashes, and is sixteen years old this year. Looking at these four women, Long Tianyu felt that his future sexual happiness was secured.

In the study of the Cai residence, Cai Yong and Long Tianyu were drinking together. After several rounds of drinks, Cai Yong spoke first: "Xiaoyao, what's your opinion on the current state of the world?"

"Heh heh," Long Tianyu replied, "After Zhang Jiao's death, the remnants of the Yellow Turban Rebellion launched a counterattack. To suppress the rebellion, Emperor Ling accepted the suggestion of Liu Yan, the Grand Master of Ceremonies, to change some governors to provincial governors, appointing them to positions held by members of the imperial family or high-ranking officials, granting them local military and political power to strengthen local governments and make it easier to control the region and effectively suppress the Yellow Turban remnants. Emperor Ling was somewhat foolish. While this resolved the Yellow Turban rebellion, it made a mistake that he could not face his ancestors with. The Han Dynasty was about to change; it's just unknown how long it would last. Emperor Ling's decentralization of power led to local armies becoming increasingly powerful, with various warlords attacking each other, vying for control of the Central Plains. Even the Eastern Han emperor was practically powerless in the hands of these warlords. The era of warlordism was about to begin. Alas, in times of prosperity, the people suffer; in times of ruin, the people suffer."

"What a fine saying, 'When the dynasty prospers, the people suffer; when the dynasty falls, the people suffer.' Well said, Xiaoyao's insight is truly profound!"

Cai Yong said with some satisfaction.

"And what about you, Father-in-law? Why do you support Grand Tutor Dong? His reputation outside isn't very good,"

Long Tianyu countered.

"Hehe, I didn't want to either, but my whole family is under his control. I had no choice. One shouldn't meddle in politics when one is not in a position of authority. Since I'm in this position, I must offer my advice and make a small contribution to the common people!"

Cai Yong said with a bitter smile, his eyes filled with deep melancholy.

Hearing this, Long Tianyu felt a deep respect for his father-in-law.

"By the way, let's not talk about me anymore. I'm an old man, and I won't live for many more years. Hehe, I've entrusted Wenji to you. I have no regrets. What are your plans for the future, Xiaoyao? Are you going to try your luck in this chaotic world, or do you want to live a carefree life, retiring to the mountains?"

"Sigh, I don't know what I'll do in the future. I have no passion. This place doesn't belong to me. There's no challenge. Maybe in the future I'll travel all over the country, enjoying the local customs and culture!"

Long Tianyu was a bit pessimistic. Without goals, there's no motivation. He couldn't even find a real opponent. Perhaps it really was true that 'a master is lonely as snow.'

Just then, the Qiankun Bracelet, which hadn't reacted for a long time, suddenly shone brightly. As for Cai Yong beside him, he had already been knocked unconscious by the spell. Long Tianyu was sucked into the space by the bracelet, where a pretty little girl of only eight or nine years old stood before him. She was dressed in a pure white princess dress, with two pigtails sticking straight up in her hair. Pouting, she pointed at Long Tianyu with her fair finger: "How can you be so unambitious? All you think about is hanging out with women all day. Can't you do something productive?"

She stroked her chin like an adult and paced back and forth a couple of times. "No, we can't waste time. There are no opponents for you to fight here. If your foundation isn't strong, it might cause big trouble in the future. How about this, I'll pass on a body-refining technique to you, and then you can start cultivating another system—martial arts cultivation. You can truly achieve dual cultivation of true martial arts."
