Chapter 184 Doing Good Brings Peace of Mind.

Situ Nan's impression of Wukong changed drastically. During dinner, he even specially asked Wukong to sit next to him. Human emotions are so subtle. When they first met, Situ Nan was furious at Wukong's meddling. But after the incident with Maiji, Wukong's image in Situ Nan's eyes became much more admirable. Not only was he handsome, but he also had a chivalrous heart. No matter which side he looked at him from, he was so likable.

Situ's wife, needless to say, looked at Wukong with loving eyes, sitting on his other side and frequently urging him to eat more. This caused Situ Yu to yell, "Mom, this is so unfair! It's like I'm your daughter! Have you forgotten?" Back home, Situ Yu was a completely different person, spoiled and willful, not at all like the calm and experienced strong woman she used to be.

"Hehe, how could I forget my precious daughter? Don't worry, this bok choy is for you." He placed a bok choy in her bowl. "Girls should eat more vegetables; it's important to stay slim. Being too fat makes

walking uncomfortable." He then placed a piece of chicken in Liu Yueyue's bowl, saying, "Yueyue is different; she's still developing. Eat more meat to replenish your energy."

"Thank you, godmother!" Yueyue thanked him.

"You still say you're not being biased? Mom, isn't this a way of saying I'm starting to gain weight? I feel like I have less and less status in this family," Situ Yu said coquettishly.

"Hehe, Mr. Sun, don't mind. Xiaoyu and her mother have always been like this," Situ Nan said.

"It's strange, Xiaoyu seems like a different person since she came home," Wukong said, looking at the beaming Situ Yu. Changing the subject, Wukong asked, "Mr. Situ, I heard from the old lady that you used to suffer from severe insomnia and often had nightmares. Is that true?"

Situ Nan, who had already drunk a few glasses of wine and had a ruddy complexion, was in high spirits. Hearing Wukong's question, he said, "Yes, I used to have severe insomnia for a period of time. When I got to bed, I would stare at the ceiling, my mind filled with all sorts of random thoughts. Even if I occasionally fell asleep, I would be quickly awakened by nightmares, and after waking up, it would be even harder to fall asleep again. I took a lot of medicine for this insomnia and

visited many famous doctors, but with little effect, until I met McKee. He seemed to have cured my insomnia, but recently, after the earthquake, my insomnia came back, and I had constant nightmares."

"What kind of nightmares did you have?" Wukong asked him.

"Sigh. The people in my dreams are all former brothers who followed me, some of whom have been dead for years, yet they still condemn me for causing their deaths. I'm not afraid to tell you, before I rose to power, I, Situ Nan, did some dishonorable things, and many good brothers sacrificed their lives for me. Actually, this isn't surprising; many wealthy people have a shady past, and I'm no exception. Those brothers who lost their lives for me are still haunting me, and it was McKee's spiritual therapy that helped me get rid of my troubles. I never imagined McKee had ulterior motives; those Americans are all untrustworthy," Situ Nan said with emotion.

"Mr. Situ, to be honest, McKee's treatment for you is only a temporary fix. The so-called relief from your troubles is only temporary. To completely cure your insomnia, there is only one way," Wukong said.

"Oh, what's the method? I, Situ Nan, am all ears."

"As the saying goes, demons arise from the heart. The nightmares that

haunt are caused by your prolonged guilt and fear, allowing inner demons to enter and cause endless trouble. A heart ailment requires a heart remedy. Once you find the remedy, your insomnia will be cured," Wukong said.

"Could you explain it more clearly?" Situ Nan asked, intrigued.

"Sure. First, you must relieve the worries of those brothers who lost their lives for you, providing generous compensation to their parents, siblings, wives, and children to dispel their resentment. Then, invite a highly skilled sorcerer to perform a ritual to help their souls be reborn as humans. After that, will they still be so persistent in haunting you?" Wukong said.

Situ Nan nodded repeatedly, saying, "Mr. Sun is right, I will do as he says."

"Good, besides that, Mr. Situ, you should also do more good deeds and accumulate merit to eliminate your sins. As you said, you did many wrong things in your early years. The saying goes, 'If you do no wrong, you won't be afraid of ghosts knocking at your door in the middle of the night.' But the more wrong things you do, the more mental illness you develop. Now that a great disaster has occurred here, it is the time for you to do good deeds. You should seize the opportunity." As Wukong spoke, he secretly thought to himself, "When did I

learn my master's ways? He speaks so eloquently. Hehe, when we return to the Western Paradise, I can have a debate with my master.

" Situ Nan suddenly realized, "Yes, I should do more good deeds. My sins are heavy. Starting tomorrow, I will spend a huge sum of money to buy grain from other provinces and distribute it to the people in the disaster area. I will also donate 500 million yuan to support the reconstruction of the disaster area!"

"Good, good, that's a very good idea. You should implement it as soon as possible," Wukong praised.

Listening from the side, Situ Yu was overjoyed and exclaimed, "Dad, I'm so proud of you!" She walked over and planted a glistening kiss on Situ Nan's cheek. Situ Nan wiped his face vigorously, saying, "Ouch, Yu, you're so naughty! Your mouth is all oily, and you've smeared it on my face! Do you think my face is a tissue?"

Situ Yu giggled and said, "Dad, since you have such a kind heart, I won't be left behind."

"Yu, what grand plan do you have up your sleeve?" her mother asked lovingly.

"My Journey to the West movie is about to be released, and I plan to donate all the profits to support disaster relief efforts," Situ Yu announced loudly.

"Great, I agree!" Situ Nan was the first to agree.

"Yu, well done!" Wukong also gave her a thumbs up.

Chapter 185 All-Round Genius

Everyone was chatting animatedly at the dinner table, but Bajie seemed not to hear anything. He kept his head down, concentrating on the delicious food on the table. The food was devoured like a whirlwind, drawing the attention of Mr. and Mrs. Situ. Situ Yu and Yueyue had witnessed this scene many times before, so they weren't surprised at all, watching Pigsy wolf down his food as if it were nothing new.

"Little Yu, does Mr. Pig usually eat like this?" Mrs. Situ whispered in Little Yu's ear.

"More or less, this is considered quite civilized, at least he used chopsticks to pick up the food," Situ Yu said with a grin.

"Oh dear, so pitiful! It doesn't look like he hasn't eaten for ten days, it looks like he hasn't had anything to eat for a year! So pitiful!" Mrs. Situ said sympathetically.

The one suffering the most was the young maid of the Situ family. She ran back and forth, serving Bajie rice, panting heavily. Taking a moment to

speak to Situ Yu, she said, "Miss, thank goodness you told me beforehand to cook extra rice. Judging by his condition, if he wasn't full, he probably would have eaten me too."

Hearing the maid's words, Bajie stopped eating and said, "Don't talk nonsense! I haven't eaten a human in a long time!" These words terrified the maid, turning her face pale. Good heavens, what do you mean, hasn't eaten a human in a long time? Did he eat humans before?

Wukong laughed and scolded Bajie, "This idiot not only goes crazy when he's hungry, but he does it even when he's full! You fool, look how scared you've made that girl almost cry!"

Bajie realized he'd let something slip and quickly chuckled, "Ah ha, I was just joking, don't take it seriously. You can tell from my refined appearance that I have a compassionate heart, how could I possibly eat people?" He then went over to comfort the maid, who screamed and ran away.

"Sigh, do I really look that scary?" Bajie asked, looking hurt.

"Not scary, but extremely scary!" Wukong laughed and teased, "If I were a girl, I'd also back off!"

"Avoid him. Your appearance clearly indicates violent tendencies, abnormal behavior, and an extreme suicide terrorist." Wukong associated all the terrorists he'd seen on TV with him.

"Heh heh, if I were a suicide terrorist, you'd be my first target," Bajie said gruffly.

"Oh dear, I'm so scared!" Wukong scoffed.

Unbeknownst to him, Situ Nan listened with concern, saying, "Mr. Sun, you said that McKee and Ye Fang escaped. Won't they come back to cause me trouble at any time?"

Wukong reassured him, "Don't worry, I shattered McKee's magic mirror. It'll take a whole year to repair. They shouldn't pose any threat to you during this year."

"What about after a year? What should I do after a year?" Situ Nan was still worried. "

A year is a long time. Don't think that far ahead." "Remember to do good deeds. As the saying goes, evil begets evil, and good begets good. The more good deeds you do, the more you will naturally receive the Buddha's protection, turning misfortune into good fortune and disaster into auspiciousness," Wukong reminded him.

Situ Nan then calmed his anxious heart and said, "That's true.

Life and death are determined by fate, and wealth and honor are determined by heaven. I'd rather live each day happily and not think about things too far in the future; it's useless to think about them."

"Yes, everything is preordained in the unseen world; there's no need to force it," Wukong said.

Situ Nan greatly admired Wukong's insight and asked, "Mr. Sun, you are so young, yet your cultivation is indeed very profound. You must enjoy studying Buddhism, right?" "So young?" Wukong found it particularly amusing. Good heavens, I've lived for so many years! You calling me great-grandfather would be embarrassing; you're making me sound too young. Yet, in the eyes of the world, I'm still a young man! He wanted to tell him his real age, but fearing it would frighten everyone present, he swallowed his words and said, "I haven't really practiced much; I just know a few scriptures." "

Since you like studying Buddhism, why did you enter the film industry to make movies? And I remember when Xiaoyu was casting for the role of Sun Wukong, she chose martial arts star Hu Gang. Why the last-minute change? Xiaoyu, there must be a fascinating story behind this, right?" Situ Nan turned to Xiaoyu, asking

curiously .

"Hehe, speaking of which, Sun Wukong came to my film crew because of a misunderstanding!" "Situ Yu vividly recounted the exciting story of Wukong's rampage on set, making everyone burst into laughter.

"Hahaha, brother, weren't you always making fun of my recklessness? It seems you're even better than me!" Bajie, having heard the story, chuckled. So that's how the monkey became a star; there was such a story behind it.

"Thankfully, this misunderstanding gave our crew Wukong, this acting genius. He played the role of Sun Wukong so well, practically flawlessly, and in one take. His scenes were basically filmed in one take, no reshoots needed. So we finished filming two months ahead of schedule, and the results were beyond our expectations. I believe the film will be a huge box office success after its official release." Situ Yu was full of confidence.

Of course he could act well! Who can't play themselves? Ask me, Old Pig, to play Pigsy, I might even do a better job! Pigsy was unconvinced.

"Really? Mr. Sun, did you study

acting ?" "Is this your first time making a movie?" Situ Nan asked in surprise.

"University? I didn't even graduate from kindergarten," Wukong answered honestly.

"Oh, so Mr. Sun is self-taught. How rare! A genius!" Situ Nan praised.

"I'm a genius too! You should all try to discover it! Xiaoyu, take a good look at me, don't I have the makings of a star?" Bajie chimed in, not wanting to be left out.

"May I ask what kind of genius you are?" Situ Yu asked, trying hard to suppress her laughter.

"Aha, there are so many talents of mine, it would take two or three days to count them all. To put it simply, singing, dancing, playing musical instruments, calligraphy, and painting are all my strengths. As for those skills like wielding swords and playing lovers, they are unparalleled. You won't find another one like me in this world." Bajie spat all over the floor.

Everyone present was laughing so hard they almost fell to the ground.

"You don't believe me?" Okay, to prove I'm not bragging, I'll sing you a Tibetan folk song, "The Loess Plateau: My Home is on the Loess Plateau, Ah Oh,

the wind blows across the slope,

whether it's a northwest wind or a southeast wind, Ah Oh,

it's all my song, my song, Ah Oh, Ah Oh!"

His raspy voice and off-key singing completely overwhelmed the audience, making them laugh until they were almost breathless.

Chapter 186: Entertainment

Reporter's New Darling. Situ Nan, true to his word, not only paid the migrant workers' wages owed by the contractor, but also generously donated 500 million yuan to support disaster relief. Immediately afterward, he held a press conference to announce that half of the ticket revenue from his upcoming film, *Journey to the West*, would be donated to disaster relief. This act won him the people's love, and for a time, the name "Situ Nan" resounded throughout the land. North and South alike eagerly awaited the release of Journey to the West.

Naturally, Situ Nan's home became the target of a massive media frenzy. Every morning, as soon as the door opened, numerous reporters were already waiting outside, making everyone entering or leaving the house a subject of intense scrutiny. Even the Situ family's maids, when out grocery shopping, were surrounded by reporters bombarding them with questions. The trash cans outside the Situ family's house also became a primary target for entertainment reporters, being rummaged through dozens of times a day. A scrap of paper, a half-empty can of beverage, even leftover food that the maids had just poured in would be meticulously examined, hoping to find a surprising clue.

Sun Wukong and Zhu Bajie, who were guests at the Situ family's home, naturally became the focus of attention.

"The relationship between the male lead of Journey to the West and the rich girl is shrouded in mystery!" "This headline appeared on the front page of a newspaper, accompanied by a close-up photo of Wukong. Of course, nine-tenths of the content was written by the reporter's skillful pen, but it was written in a vivid and engaging way, making it quite readable and greatly boosting the newspaper's sales.

'Handsome Male Lead Spends the Night at the Situ Family Residence!'" "This newspaper devoted four full pages to the story. The evidence included eyewitness accounts, descriptions from the Situ family's neighbors, and the reporter's bold and vivid imagination, making it highly sensational.

Other media outlets, of course, were not to be outdone. Reporters from all walks of life pulled out all the stops, digging for material from every angle, striving to write something new, something others dared not write about, or what they considered the most explosive subject matter. Even before Journey to the West was released, the image of Sun Wukong was already a household name. In the blink of an eye, Wukong became the darling of entertainment reporters, far overshadowing the big star Cheng Guanxi. Although he had previously gained some fame for unintentionally exposing his private photos in bed, it was ultimately

fleeting . When Sun Wukong became the new favorite of entertainment reporters, then..." Cheng Guanxi became a thing of the past, and his photos of doing push-ups in bed gradually faded from public view.

Wukong, on the other hand, was relentlessly persistent; he was practically driven to the point of wanting to run away at the mere sight of someone pointing a camera at him. When he and Bajie went out, a light would suddenly flash, followed by one or more microphones thrust in their faces, asking baffling questions. Whenever this happened, Wukong was both amused and exasperated, wanting to get angry, but faced with those smiling faces, he could only suppress his anger, unable to vent it, and could only keep a cold face and pretend to be mute.

This only fueled the interest of entertainment reporters, who praised Wukong for being cool and possessing great masculine charm.

However, one person was particularly excited about this:

Zhu Bajie.

These days are even more lively than a festival! He's always pestering Wukong to go out, not for any other reason than to enjoy the feeling of being surrounded by thousands.

What could excite Pigsy more than being admired by thousands? Aside from a table laden with delicious food, there's probably nothing else. When cameras are pointed at Wukong

, he volunteers to shield him with his massive body. If anyone asks Wukong questions, it's almost always Pigsy who does the talking. So, if going out is unavoidable, Wukong prefers to be with Pigsy, at least it saves him a lot of trouble. He

originally wanted to leave the Situ family home, but Situ Yu and her mother strongly urged him to stay, so Wukong had no choice but to stay there for the time being. Anyway, the Situ family has an extraordinary number of houses; even if another reinforced platoon were to live there, it would still be more than enough. Pigsy, of course, wished he could stay there forever, never having to lift a finger. He'd longed for this kind of life for so long, and today it finally came true—it was truly exhilarating! He was so happy he was grinning foolishly even in his sleep.

Early the next morning, Pigsy pestered Monkey to take him out for a stroll. Monkey shook his head vigorously, saying, "No, no! What's there to see outside? We'll just get surrounded by people, it's so annoying!"

"Don't worry, I'll get you out of there. Hehe, with me, Old Pig, protecting you, what are you afraid of?" Pigsy puffed out his chest and said proudly. Heh heh, he even saw himself as Monkey's savior.

"I'm not going.

It's so sunny and hot outside. You know, I hate sweating the most. I feel uncomfortable all over when I sweat. Hehe, it's more comfortable to stay at home and watch TV. There's a friendly match between the Chinese national football team and the Brazilian team at noon. I'll enjoy it." Recently, because he's been attracting too much attention, Wukong didn't want to go out. Who knew he would become obsessed with TV and even develop an interest in football?

"Pshaw, what's so great about watching football? A bunch of grown men fighting over a ball. There's no game more boring than that. Come on, come out with me. The outside world is really exciting. Hehe, not to mention anything else, just the beautiful women with bare legs and arms on the street are attractive enough!" Bajie said, drooling.

"No, no! If you bother me again, I'll use my golden cudgel!" Wukong was annoyed by Bajie's persistent pestering, so he had to use his trump card.

Bajie, as expected, was afraid. He stuck out his tongue and said, "Fine, don't go then! Why bring that broken iron rod? You know I, Old Pig, am terrified of that thing. If you hit me with it, my wonderful life will be over. Fine, you won't go, I'll go. I, Old Pig, will enjoy a day of carefree bliss."

Chapter 187: Being Neglected

. As Bajie left the Situ family's gate, as he expected, several groups of entertainment reporters were already quietly waiting at the entrance. They all looked tired and yawned repeatedly, probably having been there since early morning, some perhaps even all night. Bajie was deeply moved. With such dedicated entertainment reporters, how could China's cultural dissemination not flourish?

Seeing someone come out, the reporters perked up, like a group of athletes who had just taken a large dose of stimulants, their eyes shining, eager to try. Unfortunately, instead of Situ Nan and his daughter, or the handsome superstar Sun Wukong, emerged, it was just a rough and clumsy man. Strangers might mistake him for a cook out buying meat and vegetables; such an early morning appearance likely yielded no noteworthy news leads. Reporters who had visited a few times recognized him as the same uncouth man who always followed Sun Wukong around like a shadow, constantly vying for screen time and speaking, and whose rambling, incoherent statements were unlikely to be read.

Thus,

reporters , disappointedly halted their eager pursuit.

Bajie, however, beamed and raised his hand to greet everyone: "Haha, good morning, fellow reporters! You've all worked hard!"

The reporters remained silent, no one responding, their eyes fixed on the doorway like wary hunters watching for their prey.

Bajie was deeply annoyed. What was going on today? Usually, when he appeared, these entertainment reporters would swarm around him like flies to dung; today, they seemed completely indifferent, as if they hadn't even seen him. Strange things happen every year, but today there seem to be more than usual.

"Hey, no need to look, I'm here, Old Pig!" Pigsy shouted, thinking no one recognized him. He even recognized a reporter who had taken his picture before, walked over, grabbed the reporter's arm, and said, "Aha, so you're here too? Come on, I've got plenty of time today, take as many pictures as you like, no problem!" He even struck what he thought was a very cool pose, ready to pose for the reporter.

"Sorry, I'm busy, I don't have time to play with you," the reporter said irritably, not even glancing

at "Isn't Sun Wukong always with you? Why do I only see you, and not him?"

Pigsy then realized why no one paid him any attention; Wukong wasn't around today. Sigh, the world is so cold-hearted. "Hmph, what's so great about him? You want to take my picture? I'll have to think about it!" Pigsy consoled himself.

"Just wait and see. Sun Wukong won't show up today. You bunch of snobbish entertainment reporters will have plenty to wait for." Pigsy chuckled inwardly, snorted heavily, and strode away.

Without the flashing lights and the screams of young girls, Pigsy felt a bit bored. It seemed going out alone was a mistake; next time he'd have to coax his elder brother out no matter what.

He arrived at a park where people were jogging and practicing Tai Chi. Everyone seemed busy, and Pigsy's aimless stroll felt out of place.

Pigsy stopped, watching an elderly man with gray hair brandishing a wooden sword. The old man's movements were precise and earnest.

"Heh heh, a wooden sword? He's wielding it

like a pro? Who's he trying to fool? It can't even kill a chicken, what's the use of wielding it?" Pigsy chuckled coldly. The old man seemed to have heard Bajie's sneer, glaring at him and giving him a big eye roll.

Bajie, feeling utterly bored, casually strolled away.

A young woman carrying a child approached, her face filled with anxiety. She stopped abruptly beside Bajie.

"Sir," the woman called softly from behind.

"Were you calling me?" Bajie stopped and turned to ask. He carefully examined the woman; she was pretty, with delicate features, and fine beads of sweat on her face from nervousness.

"Yes, I need your help, sir," the woman said softly.

"Oh, what can I do for you?" Bajie asked.

"It's like this," the young woman said earnestly, "I came from out of town to visit relatives, but their whole family went on vacation. I don't know anyone in this city, and I don't have the money to go home. My baby is sick, and we don't even have money for hospital treatment. Sir, could you lend me some money? Please leave your address

, and I'll pay you back as soon as I get home." Bajie

felt great sympathy. "Ah," he thought, "a young woman, with a child, in a strange place, unfamiliar with everyone. As the saying goes, 'Home is best, but going out is difficult.' She was truly pitiful. "

Looking at the child in her arms, only about a year old, the child stared at Bajie with wide, bright eyes. Perhaps finding Bajie's appearance amusing, the child grinned and chuckled.

"Haha, your child is laughing at me. Don't worry too much, the child isn't seriously ill," Bajie comforted her. Feeling his pocket, Bajie knew he had two thousand yuan, which he had begged from his elder brother yesterday. Had he given it all to her? How pitiful.

Upon hearing Bajie's words, the young woman secretly reached out and pinched the child's bottom hard, causing the child to cry loudly in pain.

"Sir, look, my child is quite ill, he's crying! Please help me, sir," the young woman said to Bajie with a distressed expression.

Bajie laboriously pulled his hand out of his pocket, clutching two thousand yuan, and handed it to the woman, saying, "This is all the money I have. Take it and get your child treated." The woman

was overjoyed , taking the money with a thud, tears welling in her eyes, repeatedly saying, "Thank you so much!"

"What are you thanking me for? Take your child to see a doctor!" Bajie said generously.

Chapter 188 Witness

With no money left in his pocket, there was no point in continuing to wander around. He couldn't afford the things he liked, and the delicious food was just something to savor, only adding to his worries. So Bajie simply stayed in the park watching a few old men play chess. The old men squatted by the chessboard, silent and serious. When Bajie coughed occasionally, not only did the two old men playing chess glare at him, but even the other old men watching didn't give him a friendly look. Luckily, Pigsy was thick-skinned enough to pretend he didn't see the disdainful looks and remained silently watching from the sidelines, feigning deep thought.

An elderly man with a ruddy complexion, having defeated all the other elderly spectators, felt a profound loneliness of invincibility. Looking up, he saw Pigsy still bent over, intently watching. Thinking he had encountered a hidden master, the old man called out loudly, "Young man, I've seen you standing there for so long, you must be a kindred spirit. How about we play a couple of rounds?"

"Hehe, I don't know how," Pigsy said with a simple, honest smile.

"Don't know how? Then what have you been doing standing there for so long?" the old man asked curiously.

"I was wondering if you old folks were practicing some kind of kung fu. You're all so quiet,

seemingly quite serious," Bajie said earnestly. "Can you tell me what kind of kung fu you're practicing?"

The old man realized he'd encountered a clueless fool and said, "Tch, I thought you were experts, but you're not even a novice. Young man, you're too big, you're blocking the wind. Please move aside, don't block the breeze!" He then called over one of the old men to continue the fight.

The old man had given him the boot, and Bajie, now an unwelcome guest, felt embarrassed to stay any longer. Seeing that it was almost noon and he was getting hungry, he decided to head home.

Back at Situ's house, he found the reporters had all vanished. Bajie was a little disappointed, thinking, "Sigh, you reporters are so impatient! You only waited all morning and then gave up. It's really disappointing. Although the temperature is a bit high today, that's no excuse for backing down!"

The scorching sun was relentlessly baking the earth. Under such intense heat, even a dog, let alone someone who couldn't tolerate the heat, would seek refuge in the shade, panting with its tongue lolling out.

Bajie rang the doorbell, and the

young maid opened the door for him.

"Is dinner ready? I'm starving!" Bajie asked.

"Master and Madam are out. We'll have to wait for them to return," the maid said.

"Why? Does that mean I won't eat for a year if they don't come back? Would you take responsibility if I starved to death?" Bajie glared, annoyed. The maid, used to Bajie's shameless behavior, ignored him.

"Where are Sun Wukong and Xiaoyu?" Bajie asked again.

"They're watching TV in the living room!"

Upon entering the living room, he found only Wukong, Situ Yu, and Yueyue engrossed in watching television. Wukong sat on the sofa, legs crossed, with Situ Yu and Yueyue on either side of him, their eyes glued to the TV screen. Bajie entered, seemingly unnoticed.

"I'm back!" Bajie walked over and plopped down on the sofa beside him. The air conditioning in the living room was strong; compared to the sweltering heat outside, it was a cool world. Bajie's sweat vanished instantly.

"Hehe, it's so comfortable at home! It's so hot outside!" Bajie exclaimed. "Who invented air conditioning? That guy is truly amazing!" Bajie sprawled comfortably on the sofa, took off his shoes, and said, "Mmm, so comfortable. My feet were sweating so much from walking around all day."

Immediately, the entire living room was filled with Bajie's pungent foot odor.

"Hey, I'm back, old Pig! Can't you guys give me some kind of reaction?" Bajie was very dissatisfied with everyone's indifference.

"Ugh, it stinks! Where did you buy that salted fish, Brother Pig? Take it to the kitchen, it's not good to leave it in the living room," Yueyue said, covering her nose.

"Salted fish? Where? There isn't any," Bajie said.

"Oh, you're back so soon? Didn't you say you were going to have a carefree day alone? I thought you'd already eaten before you came back!" Wukong looked up from the TV and glanced at Bajie.

"I also wanted to have a pleasant and romantic day alone, but I'm penniless now, and I'll go hungry if I don't come back soon," Bajie said helplessly.

"Penniless? You fool, you just tricked me out of two thousand yuan yesterday, and it's all gone already?

"

"Tricked? Don't put it so harshly, okay? You gave it to me willingly," Bajie muttered.

"Okay, okay, even if I gave it to you willingly, it shouldn't have been spent in just one morning. Did you donate it to those women in the brothel again? Looking at your dejected face, you've probably been tricked by women again," Wukong teased.

Bajie cried out, "Brother, why do you always look at me with prejudice? Am I such a promiscuous person?"

"I want to say no, but your empty pockets have clearly told us the truth," Wukong said, showing him no mercy. "

I admit, I gave the two thousand yuan to a woman with a child, but she wasn't the kind of filthy woman you imagine," Bajie argued.

"With a child? Congratulations, you idiot, buy one get one free! What a bargain!"

Bajie was so angry he wanted to pounce on Wukong and grab him by the neck. He huffed, "She's a woman from out of town visiting relatives. Her relatives happened to be traveling, and their child is sick. I felt sorry for her, so I took all the money out of my pocket and gave it to her." Wukong listened, half-believing, half-doubting, and said, "

Wow, when did you become so generous, you idiot? That's commendable."

"Of course! I, Old Pig, have always been happy to help others," Bajie proudly puffed out his chest.

Situ Yu, who had been listening to Wukong and Bajie's conversation, interjected, "Brother Pig, did you go to a park not far from here this morning?"

"Yes, Little Yu, you saw me?" Bajie asked.

"Was that woman holding a child about a year old?" Situ Yu didn't answer Bajie's question but asked again.

"Yes, she was indeed holding a child about a year old, and the child even smiled at me! Little Yu, how do you know so clearly? Did you go to the park this morning too? Why didn't you say hello? You saw my righteous act clearly, right? This is good, with solid evidence, brother won't suspect I'm lying!" Bajie said happily.

Chapter 189 A Triumph (Part 1)

After listening to Zhu Bajie's account, Situ Yu smiled and said, "I didn't meet you in the park this morning, but I encountered the same situation you did today three years ago, and I even gave you my love and five hundred yuan. Same location, same protagonist, and the same props in the protagonist's hands, only this time she gained more."

Bajie was completely bewildered and asked, "Xiaoyu, can you not speak so mysteriously? I don't understand."

"To put it simply, you might have been fooled," Situ Yu said frankly. "That woman has been swindling people in that park for three years. The child she's holding has probably changed several times; it's probably not her biological child. Sometimes when I'm strolling in the park, she even comes up to me and strikes up a conversation. Maybe she's fooled so many people that she's too lazy to remember who she's fooled."

"Really? How could that be?" Bajie was greatly surprised and said, "I saw that she looked anxious at the time. If she were faking it, that expression wouldn't be so realistic."

"Idiot, there's such a thing as acting in this world. Maybe you just encountered a particularly skilled actress," Wukong said.

"You're right!

No wonder your level of deception has gotten better and better every day since you became an actress," Bajie teased. Thinking about that two thousand yuan, which she had painstakingly obtained from Wukong through a combination of coaxing and trickery, and then suddenly handing it over, she felt a pang of heartache and wanted to scream. She cried out repeatedly, "Oh dear, my two thousand yuan! My two thousand yuan!"

"Idiot, stop yelling! You're disturbing our football match," Wukong scolded. "The game's about to start, sit down and watch with us."

"Yes, let's watch together!" Situ Yu said. "This is a friendly match between the Chinese national football team and the Brazilian national football team, held in Xi'an, China. The Chinese team has the advantage of home ground and favorable conditions, and they should be able to put up a good fight against the world-class Brazilian team. I've been looking forward to this match for a long time, and I really hope our Chinese team can win."

"Xiao Yu, you're a girl, and you like watching football? What's so interesting about watching a bunch of grown men fighting over a football? You might as well sleep! Haven't you heard that for girls, getting more sleep is the best beauty treatment?" Bajie scoffed at Situ Yu's hobby.

"Haha, no wonder you love sleeping so much, you

're doing it for beauty purposes!" Situ Yu said with a laugh. "My support for the Chinese men's football team started in college and has remained consistent over the years. Although they haven't won a single match that can be called a resounding victory yet, I still like them just the same. I'm looking forward to seeing them play with style in this high-level competition, and I'll be cheering them on." "

Now that you mention it, I really want to watch it," Bajie said, his interest piqued, forgetting all the trauma he had just suffered.

On the screen, an official-looking man was excitedly giving a pre-match pep talk: "The outcome of this match is of paramount importance. 1.3 billion eyes are watching us! We must fight with all our might, play with style and prestige, and make the world's strongest teams fear us! Some say the Chinese men's football team is hopeless, others say they're utterly hopeless. This is your golden opportunity to prove yourselves. Playing at home, play freely! Remember, play freely! Sheng Buzhi, you are the captain of the Chinese team and a veteran. Do you have confidence in this match?"

The captain straightened his back... With a brimming chest, he declared, "Rest assured, leader

! This time, we're going all in. We'll fight to the death, victory is our only goal. We won't lose face on home soil! Although Brazil is a world-class team, with Diego and Ronaldinho on the field, we're not afraid. We have the support of 1.3 billion people, and we'll definitely be a killer of strong teams! I solemnly promise that we will win by at least three goals, striving to score double digits."

The leader was very satisfied, nodding and saying, "Good, good. With your confidence, I'm very reassured! Come on, guys! Score as many goals as you can, don't hold back!"

"Rest assured, leader! We will definitely win!" all the players shouted in unison.

Bajie, watching with fervor, exclaimed, "Hehe, these young men are quite something! They have a heroic spirit, ready to go through fire and water! I admire this kind of person; they've already won in terms of sheer presence!"

Situ Yu, also moved to tears, said emotionally, "That's so well said, I'm so touched I want to cry!"

A referee dressed in black appeared, and Bajie noticed that even the whistle in his mouth was black.

"A man in black? Dressed so mysteriously, what does he do?" Bajie asked,

puzzled .

"That's the head referee, the highest enforcer of the rules on the field," Situ Yu patiently explained to him.

Chapter 190 Fervor-Boiling (Part Two)

(This story is purely fictional; please do not take it personally.)

Given Brazil's powerful attack, a defensive counter-attacking strategy was the right approach. Therefore, at the start of the game, China's coach, Yin Tusheng, deployed a rare 118 formation, heavily guarding his own backline and locking the main battle line outside the penalty area. Brazil's impenetrable backline initially caught them off guard, often resulting in them being swarmed and dispossessed as soon as the ball reached the penalty area. However, Brazil, with their rich experience, quickly adapted to this style of play, stretching the attacking line to the flanks. Their players, with their delicate and unpredictable footwork, effortlessly weaved through the defense, making them impossible to stop. Despite the Chinese team's best efforts, they couldn't halt Brazil's relentless attack. Within the first fifteen minutes, the net was breached three times.

Especially that guy named Ronaldinho, with his sly smile and seemingly gentlemanly demeanor, was anything but gentlemanly on the field, gifting away all three goals and showing no respect for the host nation. Wukong and his friends watching on TV were incredibly frustrated.

His excessive boasting ignited the indignation of the Chinese team, especially the passionate young player Tan Yitui, who was furious. Speaking of Tan Yitui, we should first explain his background. It turned out he was a member of the provincial martial arts team. He had been practicing Tan Tui (a style of Chinese martial arts) for several years without much progress, and it seemed his future in the martial arts world was bleak. Fortunately, he enjoyed playing soccer. Once, during a street soccer match, he unleashed his Tan Tui skills, kicking the opposing defender to the ground, while he calmly faced the opponent and scored with a single kick. Yin Tusheng, then the assistant coach of the Chinese national football team, witnessed this scene and was greatly impressed and excited. He believed Tan Tui was the future hope of Chinese football and tried every means to recruit him from the martial arts team.

After joining the Chinese national football team, Tan Tui's income increased several times over, and his market value rose significantly. When he went out, many young girls would approach him for autographs. Compared to his obscurity in the provincial martial arts team, it was like heaven and earth. It could be said that Yin Tusheng was Tan Tui's mentor, and Tan Tui always wanted to find an opportunity to repay his coach for recognizing his talent.

The team is in a precarious situation; it's time for me to contribute. If not now, when? Brazil

pressed forward again, launching a long pass to Ronaldinho. Ronaldinho went to receive the ball, but Tan leaped forward, not even looking at the ball, his eyes fixed on Ronaldinho's stomach, and kicked him. Ronaldinho groaned and fell to the ground, clutching his stomach and rolling on the floor. His wicked smile vanished, replaced by a grimace of pain.

The stands were silent for a few seconds, then erupted in a deafening roar: "Go China! Go China!" The shouts echoed through the air, lasting for a long time. The

host country's referee, dressed in black, stared into the distance, seemingly oblivious to what was happening. The

Brazilian coach ran from the bench to the sidelines, yelling and shouting. The referee gave him a warning gesture, and the coach muttered something as he returned to the bench.

The Brazilian players, who had pressed forward in unison, were stunned. They rushed over and surrounded Ronaldinho, waving to the referee to indicate that he was injured.

The referee, his eyes fixed on the ball at the feet of the Chinese defender, signaled for play to continue.

The Chinese defender passed the ball

to their captain, Sheng Buzhi, who was waiting for a pass in midfield. Sheng Buzhi received the ball and quickly advanced, but a Brazilian defender tried to intercept him. Unexpectedly, Sheng Buzhi elbowed the defender, who crouched on the ground in pain.

Sheng Buzhi ignored the referee's whistle; the black whistle remained silent. He continued dribbling forward. With no one left in the opponent's backfield, Sheng Buzhi brought the ball to the edge of the penalty area. The goalkeeper, in a panic, lunged to steal the ball, but in his haste, he stumbled and fell. Sheng Buzhi was overjoyed and took a powerful shot towards the empty goal, but unfortunately, the ball flew over the crossbar.

The audience collectively let out a sigh of disappointment. The cheers were deafening.

Ronaldinho was carried off the field, and Brazil substituted him with Kaka. This young man, once on the field, was like a tiger descending from the mountain, aggressive and unstoppable. Three minutes after leaving the field, he seized an opportunity and fired a long-range shot that pierced the Chinese team's goal, making the score 4-0.

The cheers from the stadium subsided considerably, becoming sparse and lacking their previous intensity.

Tan Yitui, however, was

full of fighting spirit. He kept a close eye on Kaka, and seeing Kaka dribble forward again, Tan Yitui crouched down and delivered a standard sweeping kick with his right foot. Kaka jumped to avoid it, and Tan Yitui stood up, delivering a side kick with his right foot towards Kaka's left shoulder. Kaka staggered back several steps, barely dodging the kick, and angrily stepped forward to argue with Tan Yitui. Without saying a word, Tan Yitui leaped up and launched a whirlwind attack with a series of kicks. Although Kaka was agile, he knew very little about Chinese martial arts, and inevitably took a heavy blow from Tan Yitui, falling to the ground unconscious.

These exchanges were too obvious for the referee to ignore, because the Brazilian player in control of the ball stopped his advance, clutched the ball to his chest, and went forward to yell at the referee.

The referee had no choice but to blow his whistle and pull a yellow card from his pocket, giving it to Tan Yitui. He then pulled out another yellow card and gave it to the Brazilian player who was

yelling and fussing while holding the ball. The Brazilian coach stormed off the bench and onto the field, pointing at the referee in protest. The referee politely smiled and explained, "Football is a highly physical

sport, and physical contact is normal. Besides, I've already given the offending player a yellow card. Please return to your seat and maintain the decorum of a coach."

The Brazilian coach's protest was fruitless, and he grumbled as he walked back to the bench.

Kaka was carried off the field on a stretcher, and a younger player came on in his place.

"Great! Tan Yitui was really good; his kick was so beautiful!" Bajie clapped and cheered in front of the television.

Chapter 191 Blood Boiling (Part 3)

Bajie watched everything unfolding on the field with great excitement, chuckling as he said to Wukong, "Brother, if you went down to play, the Brazilian players would definitely run away the moment they saw you. Even if it were 100-0, you could turn the score around, let alone 4-0."

Situ Yu was also watching intently. Hearing Bajie's words, she calmly said, "The Chinese team played a bit too roughly this game. Before, they only used their hands against other teams, but now they've resorted to kicks. However, it's understandable. Against a strong team like Brazil, if they don't play tough, they'll lose even more badly."

"Sister Yu, do you think the Chinese team will lose this game?" Liu Yueyue asked, tilting her head up.

"Losing is inevitable, but hopefully it won't be too humiliating. Look at the Brazilian players' footwork; it's simply divine. It's hard not to score." Situ Yu's expression was very calm.

"But two of their star players have been carried off the field, which should greatly weaken their strength. Shouldn't we seize this opportunity to win?" Yueyue asked.

"Hehe, you know, Brazil's bench players are all excellent, technically on par with the starters. Each one of them would be a shining star," Situ Yu praised.

"Then China has no chance at all?" Yueyue asked again. Situ Yu

nodded.

"No, I think China has a better chance of winning this game!" Bajie said surprisingly, "Look, things are starting to change on the field."

Situ Yu looked at the TV and saw subtle changes on the field. The Brazilian players had far fewer opportunities to control the ball. Sometimes, when they were advancing with the ball, they would panic and hastily pass it to someone else when a Chinese player came to intercept. If they couldn't pass it, they would simply abandon the ball and run away, avoiding it from a distance.

Tan Yitui, in particular, became a nightmare for the Brazilian players; they would all avoid him at the mere sight of him. In a flash, Tan Yitui received the ball again. He dribbled it towards the Brazilian attacking third, and the Brazilian players dared not approach. Tan Yitui moved with unimpeded ease, pushing the ball directly into the penalty area. The goalkeeper leaped to block him,

but Tan Yitui's leg flew past the ball. Seeing Tan Yitui's foot coming, the Brazilian goalkeeper hastily halted his advance, stopping abruptly to the side.

Tan Yitui's move was merely a feint. Seeing the goalkeeper dodge, Tan Yitui smiled inwardly, then gently swept the ball with his right foot, sending it swishing into the net.

A roar erupted! The entire stadium erupted in cheers and screams. It was a miracle! A goal! And against a world-class team! How difficult!

The fans unleashed their ecstasy, some dancing in their seats, others embracing each other and sobbing softly. The excitement was palpable. Chinese fans had waited so long for this day; Tan Yitui's goal was like a shot of adrenaline, injecting new life into their increasingly weakened spirits.

Tan Yitui raised the victory sign, accepting the fans' adoration and cheers.

In the following matches, the Chinese players' confidence soared. For the few Brazilian players still trying to put up a fight, Li Weifeng used a "chokehold" to force them to give up. Li Tong went even further,

slamming a Brazilian player who was dribbling the ball to the ground.

Soon after, two more Brazilian players were stretchered off the field. The Brazilian players' confidence completely collapsed, as devastating as the recent stock market crash. They would often bring the ball to midfield, and if anyone tried to dispossess them, they would unleash a long-range shot, completely disregarding where the goal was.

Meanwhile, the Chinese attack was like a tiger, rendering the Brazilian defense virtually useless. Once they got the ball, a Chinese player could practically single-handedly dribble into the Brazilian attacking third, attacking the helpless goalkeeper with unrestrained abandon. For a moment, the Brazilian goal was in a state of panic. Although more than 60% of the shots went high or wide, 40% of the shots went in without any doubt. Soon, the score was reversed, and the score was 8-4. The Chinese team ended the first half with a clear advantage.

The TV announcer's voice trembled with excitement: "Ladies and gentlemen, this is a great moment! We have witnessed the birth of a world miracle! Eight to four! Facing the world's top team, Brazil, we have scored eight goals! Eight! Aha! We have shown the world with an unimaginable

score miracles can happen anytime, anywhere! There is nothing that cannot be done, only things that have not been thought of! We look forward to the warriors of the Chinese team continuing their winning streak in the second half, widening the score even further, infinitely!"

Situ Yu was moved to tears, repeatedly saying, "Unbelievable! Unbelievable! After supporting the Chinese football team for so long, today we have finally received our reward!" Wukong, however, was unimpressed, saying, "I, Old Sun, can also play in a match like this, and I believe I can play better than them. As long as I bring my golden cudgel onto the field, let's see who dares to stop me!"

In the second half, the fans craned their necks, hoping for another miracle. But half an hour passed, and the team and referee still hadn't appeared. Everyone was basking in the glow of happiness, excitedly imagining the exciting performance to come. The wait was getting impatient, and boos filled the air. A moment later, the stadium's loudspeaker announced: "Ladies and gentlemen, we have some regretful news. The Brazilian team has forfeited the second half. This friendly match ends with China winning 8-1."

A moment of silence fell over the stands, followed by

a breathtaking roar of cheers.

Chapter 192 The Joy of Doing Good

. The most excited person about China's football team's victory was Situ Yu, chattering incessantly, expressing her joy like a happy little sparrow. Pigsy wasn't happy at all, grumbling, "What's there to be happy about? It's not like I won the lottery. I was cheated out of two thousand yuan, how can you all just stand by and do nothing? Find a way to get my money back!"

"Idiot, after lunch I'll go to the park with you and help you get your money back," Monkey said. He was extremely depressed after watching a football match and wanted to go out for a walk to clear his head, and also to see how clever that woman's scam was—she'd even emptied Pigsy's pockets!

"Let's go too, Sister Yu, what do you say?" Liu Yueyue suggested.

"No, no! If you two come along, Pigsy and I won't be able to move an inch," Monkey refused outright.

"Why? Does Brother Sun think we're a burden?" Yueyue pouted, and Situ Yu also gave Monkey a coquettish look.

Wukong chuckled and said, "There are probably a lot of reporters lying in wait outside. If you two come with us, they'll have no idea what to write. I don't care, but it's not good for Xiaoyu. Look at what they've written! They can write long articles based on mere rumors. If Xiaoyu and I both appear, they can write a masterpiece!"

"Let them write whatever they want, I don't care. Are we supposed to avoid seeing each other just to avoid reporters? People can say whatever they want," Situ Yu said calmly. Bajie

was naturally very happy and said repeatedly, "Great, let's go together. Now my two thousand yuan is safe. Xiaoyu, get your five hundred yuan back too."

"Of course, why not? It's my money, I can't let that female swindler get it. Actually, I've been looking for an opportunity to get my money back, but I've never had the courage. I was afraid I wouldn't be as fierce as her if we argued, and I'd end up in an embarrassing situation. With you two grown men helping out, we should have a good chance of winning," Situ Yu said eagerly.

"Don't worry, I'm not afraid of arguing. Although I'm clumsy with words, I have a loud voice, haha. When I roar, even tigers will be wary."

Bajie chuckled. "Hurry up and serve dinner. After dinner, we'll go for a walk." Just as he was about to raise his voice to tell the maid to serve dinner, he heard the doorbell ring

. Situ Yu said happily, "Mom and Dad are back! I'll go open the door." Situ Yu got up and ran to open the door. She saw her parents standing at the door with smiles on their faces. Situ Nan was holding a large pink cardboard box.

"Mom and Dad, you're back? What good thing is Dad holding?" Situ Yu asked curiously.

"Good thing, good thing!" Situ Nan chuckled.

"What is it? So mysterious. Is it a gift from Dad? Today isn't my birthday."

"Guess!" Situ Nan said with a smile.

"Clothes for me?"

"No." Situ Nan shook his head.

"Something delicious?"

"No." Situ Nan shook his head again.

"I know, it's a book I like to read."

"Nothing!" Situ Nan shook his head again.

"I can't guess what it is!" Situ Yu was a little curious. Usually, her father would bring home clothes or food with a smile, making it easy to guess. This time, it was neither.

What kind of mysterious gift could it be?

Situ Nan didn't tell her the answer. He strode into the living room and saw Wukong and the others there. Situ Nan laughed and said, "Hehe, come and see, it's something good!"

Hearing it was something good, Bajie was the fastest to run. In the blink of an eye, he was in front of Situ Nan, saying, "Such a big box! It must be full of delicious things! Tsk tsk, this old pig is in for a treat!" He swallowed hard as he spoke.

Situ Nan opened the box. Inside was a large box full of exquisitely folded stars.

"Lucky stars? They're so pretty! Dad, I'm twenty-five years old, and you still bought so many lucky stars for me to play with?" Situ Yu asked, puzzled.

"I didn't buy them, someone gave them to me!" Situ Nan couldn't contain his joy and said happily.

"Sigh, they're not edible. What a disappointment." Bajie looked disappointed.

Situ Nan, seemingly oblivious to the disappointment on Bajie's face, enthusiastically recounted the origins of these lucky stars. It turned out that a portion of the 500 million yuan Situ Nan donated to the disaster area was used to rebuild schools and support underprivileged students. His deeds

were widely publicized on television, radio, and newspapers, and the children in the disaster area spontaneously folded these exquisite lucky stars and gave them to their teachers as a token of gratitude and blessing for Situ Nan's generosity.

"This morning, leaders from the Municipal Education Bureau personally delivered this box of lucky stars to my company. I was so happy, I can't even describe it. Honestly, receiving this gift from the children makes me happier than closing a big deal," Situ Nan said sincerely. "It's really amazing. I've been busy supporting disaster relief efforts lately, but I don't feel tired at all. I have plenty of energy, sleep soundly at night, and haven't had any nightmares for no reason."

"Congratulations! Mr. Situ, your charitable deeds have finally paid off. You might face another major calamity a year from now; Maiji and Ye Fang might make a comeback. However, as long as you continue doing good deeds, Buddha will protect you and help you turn misfortune into good fortune," Wukong said seriously. Wukong was pleased to see Situ Nan's transformation, but doing good for a day is easy; doing good for a long time is much more difficult. He wondered if Situ Nan could persevere.

Chapter 193 Bait

After lunch, Bajie couldn't wait to go out. Madam Situ asked curiously, "What are you going out for in this heat? You could have just asked a servant to buy whatever you wanted."

"Godmother, he's not going out to buy anything, he's going to collect a debt!" Yueyue said with a smile.

"Really? Who borrowed money from Mr. Pig and hasn't paid it back?" Madam Situ asked.

"It wasn't a loan, it was a gift, but he regretted it and wants to get it back." Yueyue told Madam Situ what had happened, and Madam Situ smiled and said, "Mr. Pig is quite kind-hearted. But if that woman really is taking advantage of people's sympathy to scam them, that's really despicable! Besides, it seems that woman might also be abducting babies, so it's good for Mr. Pig to verify the truth." "

It wasn't just him, Sister Yueyue, Brother Sun, and I went together. We exposed her tricks together so she won't dare to deceive people again," Yueyue said proudly.

"Hehe, Yueyue is quite bold, she deserves praise. But Xiaoyu, aren't you afraid the reporters will write something out of nothing if you go out with Wukong? The newspapers have been full of

news , this appearance will only make things more interesting." Madam Situ glanced at Xiaoyu. After spending a few days together, Madam Situ had already naturally started calling Wukong by his first name.

"What's there to be afraid of? I'm not a minor." Situ Yu said dismissively.

"Yes, I agree you should go too. Haha, to avoid reporters making wild guesses. They work hard writing, and the readers work hard reading. Going out and giving them a clear message—that Wukong and Xiaoyu are not only colleagues but also good friends—how will they write then?" Situ Nan laughed heartily in agreement.

"Hehe, since everyone agrees, what are we waiting for? Let's go!" Bajie was the first to stand up and head out.

Outside the gate, although it was midday, a thin layer of clouds blocked the sun, so it didn't feel particularly hot.

"The weather's nice, looks like it might rain." Bajie looked up at the sky and said, "Yueyue, you're so smart, you brought an umbrella."

Yueyue opened her umbrella and smiled, "It's always a good idea to bring an umbrella, it can block the sun and keep you dry." She put her arm around Situ Yu's slender waist and said affectionately, "Sister Yu, let's share an umbrella."

Bajie also wanted to join in, but shamelessly said, "Little Yu isn't afraid of the sun, let's share an umbrella." Yueyue pushed him away and said, "Your skin is thick and sun-resistant, you don't need an umbrella."

Wukong also laughed at him, "Fool, you were born with such a dark skin, it doesn't matter whether you get sun or not, what do you need an umbrella for?"

After walking a few steps, they couldn't see a single reporter. Situ Yu said happily, "Today is a perfect day for going out. It's so peaceful without any reporters." Bajie said, "This morning when I came out, there were more than ten reporters waiting here. As soon as I appeared, they surrounded me, taking pictures and asking questions. It annoyed me so much! I used my 'Lion's Roar' skill and scared them away. Now that they see me, they're probably hiding!" Bajie was just making things up. Actually, he knew in his heart that those reporters had waited all morning without getting anything and had probably already scattered like birds.

Soon, the four of them arrived at the park. It was noon, and many people had gone home for lunch, so the park was sparsely populated

and quiet.

Bajie's eyes scanned the area, but he didn't see the woman holding the child.

"Huh, where did that woman go?" Bajie said disappointedly.

“Or maybe she’s lurking in some corner. There are too many of us; even if she’s nearby, she’ll be too scared to come near. You two should walk a bit further away. Yu-jie and I will walk alone and see if anyone comes,” Yueyue suggested.

“Right, too many people will make things difficult. Dumb, let’s find a place to sit,” Wukong agreed. There was a newsstand in the park that sold both newspapers and refreshing drinks. Wukong and Bajie strolled over, found a bench, and each ordered a bottle of ice-cold beer, slowly sipping it. Yueyue

and Situ Yu, under their umbrellas, leisurely strolled along the circular pebble path in the park.

After walking for more than ten minutes, they still hadn’t seen the woman. Bajie was getting impatient and said, “It seems that woman won’t show up today. She got my two thousand yuan this morning; she can rest for a few days.”

“Don’t worry, human greed is limitless. Precisely because she got it so easily this morning, she won’t leave easily. I think she

’ll show up soon,” Wukong said.

As soon as the words were spoken, a woman appeared beside Situ Yu and Yueyue, holding a child in her arms.

"Here she comes! The fish has finally taken the bait!" Bajie perked up, wanting to rush over and grab the woman.

"Wait, listen to what she's saying," Wukong pulled Bajie back.

"How can we hear what they're saying from this distance?" Bajie said. "Let's just go over and see. If it's the same woman from this morning, we'll just grab her."

"Fool, what's the rush? If it really is that woman, she can't fly away now," Wukong said calmly.

Chapter 194 Exceptional Acting Skills

The woman, carrying a child, approached Situ Yu anxiously. "Miss, is there a hospital nearby? My child is very sick, and I don't know the area. I'm so worried!"

Situ Yu recognized the woman as the one who had deceived her three years ago. Knowing what was going on, she calmly asked, "There's a hospital not far from here, don't you know? You're from out of town, right?"

"Yes, yes, I'm visiting relatives. They've all gone on vacation, and I don't have much money on me. My child has fallen ill, and I don't know what to do. I don't mind going hungry, but my child's illness can't be delayed. Miss, please, lend me some money to see a doctor. I'll pay you back as soon as I get home." The woman said sincerely, her anxious expression incredibly convincing. If Situ Yu hadn't already

known her true colors, she would most likely have been deceived again. Situ Yu couldn't help but secretly admire the woman's acting skills; she had memorized her lines perfectly, showing a high level of professionalism. She said, "Sister, you look familiar. I remember seeing you here three years ago, also

looking for relatives. Has your relative gone on a three-year trip and still not returned?"

Wukong, who could hear their conversation clearly from afar, couldn't help but smile. Heh, Xiaoyu is quite tactful; instead of directly exposing the woman's deception, she gave her a chance to back down. He wondered how the woman would handle this.

A hint of embarrassment flashed across the woman's face as she awkwardly said, "Miss, you've mistaken me for someone else. I've always stayed in my hometown and never traveled far. This is my first time here. How could you possibly have seen me before?"

"No mistake, I recognize the mole on the corner of your mouth," Situ Yu pointed to her face. The woman unconsciously covered the mole on the corner of her mouth with her right hand, saying, "Many people have moles on their lips."

"I have a photographic memory. Even if I've only met someone once, I can still recognize them ten or eight years later. Besides, I lent you five hundred yuan back then, so the impression is even more vivid. But I find it a bit strange. Three years ago, the child in your arms was already a year old, and now this child looks only a year old. Why hasn't he grown up? Or did you have

another one ?" Situ Yu asked.

"I...I don't know what you're talking about! How could this child be three years old?" the woman stammered.

"That child doesn't look like you at all. He's not your child, is he?" Yueyue interjected from the side.

"Not my child? Then is he yours?" the woman glared at Yueyue.

"Ah, he's my child, Xiaobao! How did he end up in your hands? Xiaobao, your mother has been looking for you so long!" Suddenly, another woman appeared, thin and frail-looking. She moved with surprising agility, reaching out and taking the child from the woman's arms.

"Who are you? Why are you snatching my child?" The woman was terrified and rushed over to try and take the child back.

"I'm Xiaobao's mother! Look, her little face looks just like mine!" The thin woman hugged the child tightly, saying with delight. The woman tried to grab her, but the thin woman turned around, lightly extended her foot, and the woman fell to the ground with a thud.

"Child snatching! Someone's snatching a child!" The woman cried out loudly, lying on the ground.

Hearing the shouts, people who had been sitting scattered around gathered around, and several strong young men ran over and asked, "What happened? Who dares to snatch a child in broad daylight?"

"It's her! She snatched my child!" The woman pointed at the thin woman holding the child beside her. The thin woman was not to be outdone and shouted, "Nonsense! You stole someone's child and you're trying to play the victim! I'm the child's biological mother; you're a child trafficker."

The woman winked at several burly men, who understood and grabbed the thin woman's arm, saying, "How dare you! Snatching a child in broad daylight! Are you tired of living?"

The thin woman retorted, "What are you two exchanging glances for? Don't think I can't see! My eyes aren't blind; you're all in cahoots." The burly men grinned maliciously and said arrogantly, "The more you know, the faster you die! And you two, you even hesitated when we asked you for a little money..." "They're not cooperating at all! Quickly take off all your valuables—wallets, rings, necklaces—don't leave a single thing behind!"

Yueyue and Situ Yu were terrified, their eyes darting around,

but they couldn't see Wukong and Bajie anywhere. Yueyue was extremely anxious and whispered to Situ Yu, "Sister Yu, where did Brother Sun and the other two go? We can't even see them!"

Situ Yu also couldn't find Wukong anywhere. She thought to herself, "Those two must have gone somewhere to cool off, leaving us here. What should we do?" She forced herself to remain calm and said, "What do you want? A robbery? There are police around here all the time. If we shout, you won't be able to escape."

The burly men laughed wildly and said, "Don't be naive. At this time of day, the police are all taking a nap. Who's going to come to your rescue? Hand over your money obediently, or I'll mark your pretty face with this knife." As they spoke, they actually pulled a switchblade from their pockets and brandished it in front of Situ Yu.

At this moment, the thin woman beside her spoke up: "Let those two women go, I don't want this child, you can have him!" One of the burly men laughed disdainfully, saying, "It's not your turn to speak yet, you'd better shut your mouth. Let me tell you, of course we want the money, this child won't escape

our grasp, and the three of you... hehe..."

"You... you shouldn't be so presumptuous, when my brother Sun arrives, he certainly won't let you off!" Yueyue said sharply.

Chapter 195 Broken Kite

As soon as Yueyue finished speaking, the burly men burst into another round of unrestrained laughter, saying, "What brother Sun? Is he your lover?" Yueyue blushed and cursed, "Crazy!" One of the burly men grinned and stuck his head in front of Yueyue, saying, "Hey, little girl, you're blushing, so cute. Come on, let your brother give you a kiss." As he spoke, a stinky mouth, like a pig's snout, was thrust in front of Yueyue.

"You pervert!" Yueyue shouted angrily and slapped him hard across the face. With a crisp, loud "smack," five clear finger marks appeared on the burly man's fat face.

"Hahaha, what a useless fellow! He got slapped by a little girl!" the other burly men laughed gleefully. The slapped man, enraged and humiliated, lunged forward, baring his teeth and claws, trying to grab Yueyue. But, in a flash, the thin woman moved, and without any visible movement, the burly man was sent flying two zhang (approximately 6.6 meters) into the air, then plummeted like a kite with a broken string, crashing heavily to the ground with a "thud." He struggled a couple of times, then lay motionless.

The other burly men stared in disbelief, their mouths agape in astonishment

. They had clearly seen their companion reach for the little girl; how could he have been kicked into the air so suddenly? They thought they were seeing things, but after rubbing their eyes frantically, it was definitely their companion lying motionless on the ground. What had happened?

“Little sister, could you help me hold this child?” The thin woman handed the child to Yueyue. Yueyue took the child, looked at the child's bright, dark eyes, and happily said, “Okay, I'll hold her.”

The thin woman turned to the several dumbfounded burly men and said, “You bunch of good-for-nothings, you should just end it yourselves, or you'll end up like your brother!”

“You?” The burly men couldn't believe that this dark-skinned, thin woman had such a big mouth.

“Isn't that enough? Look at what happened to your brother, you don't want to end up like him, do you?” The thin woman asked with a grin.

“Haha, you ugly woman, you underestimate us too much. Fine, since you're not afraid of death, we'll do you a good deed and grant your wish.” The burly men said as they pressed forward. The thin woman remained unmoved, standing there straight like an old pine tree.

Attack her together! Fight!” The burly men shouted in unison, throwing punches at the thin woman.

The thin woman's hands danced, drawing a dazzling circle of light in the air. In an instant, figures soared into the sky, each higher than the last.

"Help!" Several people only managed to utter these three words before their bodies crashed heavily to the ground one after another. "Thud thud thud thud thud..." Seven more burly men lay unconscious on the ground.

"Great! Excellent!" Yueyue and Situ Yu cheered in unison, "Wonderful! Powerful!"

The silver-tongued woman, seeing the situation was dire, turned pale with fright, cried out, and tried to run away.

"Trying to escape? Not so easy!" The thin woman pointed in the air, and the woman lunged forward, landing sprawled on the ground like a starving dog trying to eat excrement.

"Haha, now you've become a dog eating excrement!" The thin woman stepped forward and stomped on her back, asking, "Tell me honestly, how did you steal this child?"

"I...I won't tell you!" the woman stubbornly refused.

"Hehe, seems quite resilient. Won't talk? Then some torture awaits." With that, the thin woman pressed down on her foot, and the woman screamed shrilly, beads of sweat covering her face. She cried out repeatedly, "I'll talk, I'll talk, heroine, please stop! Several of my vertebrae are broken!"

The thin woman withdrew her right foot from her back, chuckling, "You should have spoken earlier! You're so shameless, you won't talk unless you suffer a little. But don't lie to me, or I'll get angry, and with this kick, your spine might be ruined!"

"I'll tell the truth, I'll tell the truth!" The woman trembled violently.

"Alright, then tell me, is this child your own?" the thin woman asked.

"No, he's not my own. They stole him. Having a child around makes it easier to deceive people. I never imagined they stole your child, heroine! I deserve to die, I deserve to die!" the woman answered truthfully.

"What about the child from three years ago? He wasn't your own child either, was he?" Situ Yu asked from the side.

“That’s not my own child either. To be honest, I’ve never had children. Usually, when a child is one year old and can walk, we have them go out to beg on the streets alone, with someone

supervising them,” the woman said.

Situ Yu was deeply shocked and angrily said, “You scum, you’re worse than animals! Torturing a child like that, don’t you have any conscience?” The woman didn’t dare to answer.

Just then, Bajie trotted over, saw a large group of people lying on the ground, and shouted loudly, “Sorry, I was drinking beer and fell asleep, and then I was woken up by your noise. Wow, the fight was intense, there are people lying all over the ground!”

“Where’s Brother Sun? Weren’t you together?” Yueyue asked.

“I don’t know where he went to play. I woke up and he was gone. How did it go? Did you catch him?” Bajie asked.

"We caught her! All thanks to this lady. She's been a huge help. Sigh, if it weren't for her, Sister Yu and I might have already been violated by these thugs! And you were sleeping so soundly!" Yueyue rolled her eyes at Bajie.

"Hehe, don't do it again. Let me see if this woman is the one who cheated me out of money this morning?" Bajie stepped forward and shouted, "Hey, lift your head and let me see you."

The woman raised her head and saw the towering figure before her.

The burly man panicked even more, his face drained of all color. ( Chapter 196,

April 25th) Without even looking closely, just a quick glance was enough for Bajie to recognize the woman lying on the ground as the one who had swindled him out of two thousand yuan that morning. "Heh heh, there's hope!" Bajie thought with delight, lowering his head to ask her, "Look closely, do you still recognize me?" "No, I don't recognize you. I've never seen you before." The woman panicked at the sight of this towering man. Of course, she remembered that he had given her two thousand yuan that day, so she stubbornly denied it, intending to play dumb and get away with it. "Don't recognize me? Really? Only a few hours have passed, and you've already forgotten me? I gave you real money! Besides, with my imposing appearance, I should be unforgettable at first sight." Bajie was deeply disappointed by her forgetfulness. The thin woman stepped forward again, placed her right foot on the woman's waist, and chuckled, saying, "Her amnesia is severe. You need to massage her body with your foot to cure it." The woman turned pale with fright and hurriedly said, "No! I remember now, he gave me two thousand yuan this morning. But the money isn't on me; I've already handed it in." "Hehe, that's quite a clever method ," the thin woman said. Bajie was overjoyed and asked, "If it's not on you, where is the money? Get up quickly and take me to get it." The woman got up, lowered her head, and walked to the seven burly men lying haphazardly on the ground. Pointing to one of them, she said, "It's on him; he's our leader." Bajie went over, grabbed his collar, and lifted him up, saying, "Get up, get up, give me back the money!" The burly man slumped his head, closed his eyes, and remained silent. "Heh, playing dead with me! Stop pretending, open your eyes now. I'm after money, dead or alive. Keep pretending, I'll wake you up!" With that, he swung his big hands and slapped the man's face repeatedly. After a round of loud slaps, the big man finally opened his eyes. "Awake? You're such a jerk, you wouldn't open your eyes until I hit you!" Bajie yelled. "Where's my two thousand yuan? Hand it over obediently, or I won't beat you!" The burly man turned and glared at the woman, saying, "You...you betrayed me?" The woman trembled and said, "I had no choice, I was terrified of being beaten!" The burly man sighed, rummaged in his pocket for a while, pulled out a wad of money, and handed it to Bajie, saying, "It's all here. I was planning to treat the brothers to a good meal at a restaurant, thankfully we didn't. Brother, I didn't take a single penny from you, please let us go." Bajie took the money, counted it, and sure enough, not a single penny was missing. He nodded in satisfaction and said, "The money isn't missing, but I can't let you off so easily. Who told you to insult my intelligence? I, a wise old man, actually fell for your trick. If word gets out, I'll have no face to show my face in the martial arts world. Hey, go kick him a few times, help me vent this anger!" Bajie said to the woman. "I...I dare not!" The woman recoiled violently. "Dare not? Then you can kick him a few times first," the thin woman said coldly behind her. The woman stopped, struggled with her thoughts for a moment, then gritted her teeth and said, "Fine, I'll kick him a few times!" With that, she took a few steps forward to the big man, raised her foot, closed her eyes, and stomped hard on him. She was wearing high heels, and with that stomp, the high heel struck the big man, causing him to scream like a pig being slaughtered: "Ouch, you bitch, you really stomped so hard? Do you want to die?" The woman gritted her teeth and said, "I was forced into this, I can't get through this without stomping on you a few times!" "Can't you be gentler? Can't you just pretend to fool them? I think you're doing this on purpose, or I'll skin you alive!" The big man gritted his teeth in anger. Hearing his words, the woman, emboldened by some unknown source, raised her foot and stomped on him even harder, cursing as she did so: "I'll stomp! I'll stomp! I'll stomp, stomp, stomp! You beast deserve to die! Not only did you trick me into your scheme, but I've never had the chance to enjoy the money you've earned. These past few years, you've taken advantage of me for nothing! I regret it so much! I hate you so much! Die! Die!" Her face was contorted with rage. The burly man beneath her feet was bleeding profusely from her high heels. Situ Yu and Yueyue couldn't bear to watch any longer and turned away, only to find the thin, dark-skinned woman gone. "Huh, where did that lady go? The child is still with me. Why did she leave without a word?" Yueyue was still holding the little boy in her arms. The boy blinked his round, bright eyes and grinned at her. "Perhaps she went to buy something. Don't worry, her child is still here; he'll be back soon," Situ Yu said. "Oh my, so cute! He actually smiled at me! Sister Yu, look, look, he's smiling at me!" Yueyue exclaimed in surprise. "Really? Let me see." Situ Yu leaned closer and teased the little boy's nose with her finger, making him giggle. "Hehe, that's so funny!" Situ Yu said happily. Not far away, Sun Wukong walked over slowly. "Haha, two cute girls, so happy to have found money?" Wukong asked with a smile from afar. "Even happier than finding money! Look how cute this child is!" Situ Yu said happily. "Brother Sun, where did you go? I didn't see you for ages, I was so worried! If this child's mother hadn't come in time, Sister Yu and I would have almost been cheated!" Yueyue pouted and said unhappily. "Hehe, sorry, I was watching a line of ants dragging a bone, I was so engrossed in it." Wukong replied with a smile. "You were watching for ages?" Yueyue asked in confusion. "Yes, they dragged it out for ages, and I watched for ages too!" Wukong said with a laugh. He thought to himself, "Yueyue, you little rascal, you're so silly. What mother is there? Wasn't I, Old Sun, just temporarily playing the role of a woman?" However, her appearance might not be very attractive; she was rather thin and dark-skinned—that was because she temporarily transformed to resemble the newsstand owner's wife. Chapter 197 Never to Return Yueyue, holding the little boy, waited and waited, but the thin, dark-skinned woman still hadn't returned. She grew a little anxious and murmured, "Why hasn't she come back yet? Could something have happened to her? But she's so skilled; she should be alright." Meanwhile , on Bajie's side, the woman was still tirelessly kicking and assaulting the other burly men. Screams of agony followed one after another. Pigsy cheered her on from the sidelines: "Good, good, one more time! Yes, stomp down hard! Don't hold back!" The woman, her legs exhausted, gasped for breath, "Brother, don't just cheer from the sidelines, come and help stomp a couple of times!" Pigsy waved his hand and shook his head, refusing: "No, no, I'm a civilized person. I could never do something so brutal!" The woman nearly fainted. Good heavens, what kind of world is this? Even such a crude and stupid guy considers himself civilized? It's infuriating! Fueled by anger, she stomped even harder, leaving the burly men covered in blood, a gruesome sight. Even when two policemen approached, she remained completely oblivious. "What are you doing? What are you doing? Stop right now!" the policemen shouted. The woman was taken aback and abruptly pulled her raised right foot back. She stared blankly at the police and said, "Officers, when did you arrive? I didn't see you coming. Well, you've come just in time. These seven guys are yours to deal with. They tried to bully a weak woman like me, but I took them all down!"

The words stunned the two policemen. Could it be? Seven burly men, easily subdued by such a petite woman? The policeman turned to Bajie and asked, "Comrade, you're an eyewitness. Did you see everything that just happened?"

"Yes, I saw it clearly! She beat those seven men to a pulp! Look, they're covered in bloody holes from high heels! She didn't hold back at all. I couldn't help but cheer her on!" Bajie exclaimed excitedly.

The policeman frowned. "We all have eyes, of course we saw what happened. I'm asking you, what happened before? In other words, why did this woman beat them all down?"

The woman quickly winked at Bajie, and

he could —she was probably saying, "Please don't tell the truth." *Hmph, I won't lie for a liar like you*, Bajie thought to himself.

"They probably fought over the loot. This woman and the other seven are in cahoots, scamming people in this park. They cheated me out of two thousand yuan today. They argued about how to split the money, and then it escalated into a fight. This woman is really tough; she took down all seven big men in no time," Bajie said.

"Also, this child was stolen by them too," Yueyue said to the police as she walked over carrying the little boy.

Seeing that she had been caught, the woman tried to flee. The police rushed up, grabbed her shoulder, and said, "Trying to run away?" The woman's legs went weak, and she knelt on the ground with a thud, crying, "Officer, I was forced into it! I'm a victim too!"

"Whether you're a victim or not, you have to come with us to the police station for questioning. However, we saw your brutal behavior clearly, so we have reason to suspect you wanted to kill someone to cover it up," the policeman said sternly. He walked over to one of the burly men, checked his nostrils, and said, "His breathing is very weak; he's probably seriously injured. It's hard to say whether he'll die. I'll call an ambulance to come and check. Hopefully, no one will die, otherwise you'll be in big trouble." After saying that, he took out his phone, dialed a number, and explained the situation.

The woman turned pale with fright, her voice trembling as she said, "This is it! If they die, I'll die too; if they don't die, I'll die even more. Alas, why is my life so miserable?"

"This is your own doing. Putting aside the people you deceived, the number of children you harmed is probably quite large," Situ Yu said angrily from the side.

The ambulances arrived quickly, two at once. Several officers in white coats jumped out, checked the men's breaths, and then hurriedly lifted them into the ambulances. After a brief flurry of activity, they sped away.

"Alright, the injured are at the hospital. We also need to take you back to the police station for questioning," the police officer said to the woman. "We've had numerous reports of a group of people committing fraud and violent robbery in this park. We've increased patrols, but you guys are too cunning, so we haven't been able to catch you.

It's great that you've walked right into our trap!"

The woman hung her head, looking dejected.

"And you, one is a victim, and the others are witnesses. Please come with us to assist in the investigation and provide strong evidence to bring these guys to justice," the police officer said, turning to Yueyue and the others.

"But the child's mother has left. Let's wait for her to come back. It's so pitiful that such a young child has been abducted," Yueyue said sympathetically.

“No need to wait. That thin woman isn’t the child’s mother at all. She just intervened because she couldn’t stand by and watch. Actually, she’s selling things at that newsstand over there.” Wukong pointed to the newsstand not far away.

“Really? You weren’t even there, how do you know so much?” Yueyue asked, puzzled.

“I was just watching ants carrying bones next to the newsstand when that woman came running back, panting and muttering something. I guess she was the one who saved you.” Wukong said.

Yueyue was skeptical, but she quickly walked over with the little boy in her arms.

Not long after, Yueyue returned, looking surprised. “

It is indeed the same person, but her memory is terrible. It’s only been less than half an hour, and she has no recollection of it at all. It’s really strange. I asked her several times if the child was yours, and she just stared at me and said I was confused.”

“Haha, never mind, she did a good deed and didn’t want to be remembered.” Wukong laughed.

Chapter 198 Confused

After hearing Yueyue’s words, the police also felt that the situation was a bit tricky. Such a young boy, if no one claims him, the police station will have to shoulder the heavy responsibility of temporary care. One of the policemen said, "She's probably trying to shirk her responsibility of raising him, or maybe she has some unspeakable reason. Let's go see her and find out what's going on."

The group went to the newsstand, where a thin, dark-skinned woman was indeed sitting. Seeing Wukong and his group approach, she quickly stood up and greeted them warmly, "What would you like to buy? Drinks or books?"

"That's her! Yes, the heroine who helped us just now is her!" Situ Yu exclaimed with great joy, "We've finally found this little boy's mother!"

"Are you sure you haven't mistaken him for someone else?" the policeman asked.

"No, I trust my eyes," Situ Yu said.

"I can testify too, I definitely saw her just now," Bajie chimed in from the side.

"Weren't you here to buy something?" The thin, dark-skinned woman's enthusiasm waned as she saw that the group didn't seem to be interested in buying anything.

"We're not buying anything, we're just returning your child!" a policeman said.

"Come and see if this is your child."

The thin woman glanced at the child in Yueyue's arms and said irritably, "I already told that young lady the answer. This child isn't mine. I've never given birth."

Her answer greatly surprised Situ Yu. Wasn't she just anxiously saying the child was hers? How could she suddenly seem like a different person?

"Sister, perhaps you have some unspeakable difficulties, but since it's your flesh and blood, you should take the child back. It's pitiful for a child without a mother. If you have any difficulties, tell me and I'll see if I can help you. After all, you just saved us," Situ Yu said sincerely.

"I've already said, this child isn't mine, and I've never helped you in any way. I've been sitting here the whole time, I haven't gone anywhere." The thin woman was also completely bewildered.

Only Wukong knew the truth; he had impersonated her to help, and of course, she was completely unaware. So, laughing, they said, "Forget it. Since this lady says the child isn't hers, then it probably isn't.

What mother wouldn't acknowledge her own child? I think you've mistaken her for someone else. Don't force her!"

Mistaken her for someone else? All six eyes have mistaken her for someone else? Situ Yu and the others found it hard to believe. But what Wukong said made sense. What parents wouldn't acknowledge their own child? There must be some misunderstanding. The whole thing seemed a bit strange.

The argument attracted several young couples who gathered around to watch.

"Hey, that tall man looks so familiar. I feel like I've seen him somewhere before," a young woman thought hard. "

Where have I seen him? His picture is all over the newspapers lately. He's Sun Wukong!" The young man next to her had a good memory and recognized Wukong immediately.

The words were like a wake-up call. The young woman was so excited she almost fainted. Her voice trembled as she said, "Then...then isn't that beautiful woman next to him the rich girl Situ Yu?"

"Probably."

The young woman shrieked, "Ah, I'm so lucky today! Sun Wukong looks ten times, no, a hundred times more handsome in person than in the newspaper photos!"

The young man suddenly felt ashamed and said

sourly , "Situ Yu next to Sun Wukong is the truly charming one! Hehe, so the newspaper reports seem to be true after all. Sun Wukong and Situ Yu's relationship is not simple. Such a good opportunity, I must call the newspaper right now to break the news and earn a few hundred yuan in bonus." The young man took out his phone and quickly dialed a number.

"Hello, newspaper? I have an exclusive scoop for you. Sun Wukong and Situ Yu appeared together in the park, with a maid-like woman holding a one-year-old child. You'd better hurry, it looks like they're about to leave." The young man whispered, covering the phone with his hand.

Although her voice was soft, everyone nearby could hear her clearly because of the close proximity. Yueyue chuckled and said, "Hehe, when did I become a little maid?" The policeman asked, "You're Sun Wukong? A big star, huh?" Wukong nodded and said, "A true man doesn't change his name or surname, I am the beloved Sun Wukong!"

Situ Yu chuckled and said, "Shameless! What do you mean, 'beloved'? Hurry up and get out of here, you won't be able to leave once the reporters come!" She grabbed Wukong and started to leave. The policeman shouted from behind, "Please wait, we need

you to go back to the police station to give a statement!"

"Yueyue and Mr. Pig can go with you, we'll go first," Situ Yu turned around and said loudly. She was already a little annoyed by the reporters' relentless pursuit. Now that her identity had been exposed, she wanted to slip away as quickly as possible.

As the two figures gradually disappeared from sight, the young woman angrily snatched the young man's phone, stomping her foot and scolding, "It's all your fault! What kind of scoop was this? You chased Sun Wukong away! I wanted his autograph!" She threw the phone on the ground and stomped on it twice.

Chapter 199 An Unexpected Joy

The young man picked up his phone, blew off the dust, and said with heartache, "Oh dear, I bought this phone with a whole month's salary. Did you break it like this?"

"Serves you right!" the young woman retorted angrily. "Who told you to prevent me from getting Sun Wukong's autograph?"

Just as Bajie and Yueyue left with the police, a reporter from the newspaper arrived. He contacted the young man by phone and came to him, only to see a man and a woman; he couldn't find Sun Wukong or Situ Yu.

"Where are they? Didn't you say Sun Wukong and Situ Yu were both here?" the reporter asked.

“Yes, they did appear. When I called your newspaper, they were still there, but they both heard me on the phone and left in a hurry, less than ten minutes ago,” the young man said dejectedly.

“Sigh, we’re too late,” the reporter said, equally disappointed. “Otherwise, it would have been a great story. Tell me, what happened with that child?”

“Sun Wukong and Situ Yu are gone. Is there a reward for giving you more information?” the young man asked bluntly.

“As long as your story has news value, our newspaper will give you a certain reward,” the reporter said.

“Okay, let me tell you what happened. The child was about a year old, a very cute little boy, being held by a girl of about seventeen or eighteen, I don’t know if she was a maid from the Situ family. There was also a burly man next to them, who looked like a bodyguard from the Situ family. There were also two policemen nearby, seemingly asking questions,” the young man explained.

“What did the child look like?” the reporter asked excitedly, his eyes shining.

"I couldn't see very clearly, but from a distance, she probably looks similar to Situ Yu." The young man casually remarked, chuckling; his imagination was quite vivid.

"Really? This news is explosive! A secret history of a wealthy family! Haha, I can't help but become famous this time!" The reporter grinned, revealing his teeth.

Back home, seeing only Situ Yu and Sun Wukong return, Mrs. Situ asked curiously, "Huh, there were four of you when you went out, why are only the two of you back?"

"They went to the police station and will be back later," Situ Yu said.

"Oh, that swindler was caught? She was taken to the police station?" Mrs. Situ

asked with delight.

“They caught them. It turns out there was more than just that woman; there were eight of them. They not only commit fraud but also rob people when they get the chance. Yueyue and I almost got seriously hurt. Luckily, a thin woman came to our aid and beat them to a pulp, leaving them all lying on the ground. Later, the police took them to the hospital. But it's strange, when we found that thin woman later, she absolutely denied ever saving Yueyue and me,” Situ Yu said.

Mrs. Situ smiled faintly and said, “What’s so strange about that? Some people do good deeds but don’t want to publicize it. She’s probably one of those reserved people.”

“But… she even abandoned her own child. I still can’t understand it; it’s really a bit bizarre.” Situ Yu recounted the strange events to her mother.

“Is that so? That’s hard to imagine. Maybe the child really wasn’t hers. She claimed it was her child to find a plausible excuse for helping us,” Mrs. Situ speculated.

“Perhaps,” Situ Yu nodded in agreement.

“That little boy is so pitiful. He was only one year old when he was abducted. We don’t

know if he’ll ever find his biological parents. Has he been taken to the police station yet?” Mrs. Situ said with pity.

“Yueyue took him to the police station.”

“The police might not be able to find the child’s biological parents anytime soon. Why don’t we adopt him temporarily? I’m quite lonely at home anyway. It would be much more interesting to have a child with me. We can return him to his biological parents when they find them.” Mrs. Situ suggested.

“Really? Mom, that’s wonderful! I had the same idea, but I was afraid you wouldn’t agree! I didn’t expect you to think the same way as me.” Situ Yu was overjoyed.

Mrs. Situ smiled kindly.

Situ Yu called Yueyue’s cell phone and asked, “Yueyue, are you still at the police station?”

“Yes, I’m just starting to give a statement! What’s up?” Yueyue asked.

“Okay, ask the police if we can take care of the child while they’re not finding his biological parents, until they do.” Situ Yu instructed.

"Sister Yu, did you mean you want to temporarily adopt this little boy?" Yueyue couldn't contain her joy.

"Yes

, it's also Mom's idea," Situ Yu said with a smile.

"That's great!" Yueyue's cheer came through the phone, making Situ Yu's eardrums buzz. "I really don't want to leave this child at the police station. I'll talk to the police right away and get back to you later."

Two minutes later, Situ Yu's phone rang. Yueyue said happily on the phone, "Sister Yu, the police agreed and even praised us for being kind! They said we just need to go to the Civil Affairs Bureau to register when we have time."

Situ Yu was also very happy to hear this and said, "Then bring the little boy back after you finish giving your statement! Mom and I will be waiting for you at home." Turning to Mrs. Situ, she said, "Mom, you'll be able to see the little boy soon. He's so cute, with big eyes, and he smiles at everyone. I guarantee you'll love him."

Madam Situ smiled broadly and said cheerfully, "Hehe, now even if you and your daughter aren't by my side, I'll have someone to play with. When will Yueyue be back? I really can't wait!"

"Yueyue will be back soon. While you're waiting, why don't you think about what name to give him?" Situ Yu said with a smile.

Chapter 200 Unrequited Love

Madam Situ looked on anxiously, fidgeting in the living room. She would stand up and look at the door through the French windows, then mutter to herself, "Why isn't Yueyue back yet? Could she have encountered thieves on the way?" Seeing her anxious expression, Situ Nan couldn't help but smile and said, "Sit down, you're making my eyes blurry. Yueyue is a grown woman now, and she has Bajie with her, she'll be fine."

"But she's holding a small child in her arms. If she really encountered robbers, she won't be able to walk fast. Xiao Yu, I'm still worried, why don't you drive and pick them up?" Madam Situ said worriedly.

"Okay, I'll go right now. Wukong, are you coming with me?" Situ Yu asked.

"Sure, I don't have anything else to do anyway," Wukong said.

They drove to the police station and found Yueyue and Bajie. A male and female police officer were taking their statements; the male officer was asking questions, and the female officer was taking notes. Just as they finished taking their statements, the female officer grasped Bajie's large hand and said, "Thank you for your cooperation, Mr. Pigsy. Although your name is a bit strange, you are a very kind person. Our police force really needs the cooperation of good citizens like you."

Bajie, flattered, repeatedly said, "It's nothing, nothing to brag about. If I hadn't fallen asleep, I would have captured all seven of those big men and handed them over to you. I do this kind of good deed a thousand or eight hundred times a year; I'm used to it. Hehe, I'm not a bad person; my biggest flaw is that I love to stand up for the weak." He held the female officer's hand for a long time, unwilling to let go. He's bragging again. This pighead has an unusually thick skin. Wukong chuckled to himself.

"What a good citizen! I should learn from you." The policewoman finally managed to free her hand from Bajie's clutches.

"No, I should learn from you police officers! If you don't mind, I'll come to the police station often to learn from you," Bajie said modestly.

The policewoman looked embarrassed and quickly said, "No need, no need."

"Yes, yes. You can rest assured, I won't disturb your work. I'll only come three times a day to ask you questions, once in the morning, once at noon, and once in the evening. How does that sound?" Bajie asked humbly.

The policewoman was about to faint

when, thankfully, Situ Yu and Wukong appeared just in time.

"Yueyue, can you two leave now?" Situ Yu asked from the doorway. Yueyue looked at the policewoman with a questioning gaze. The policewoman said, "I've finished asking the questions, you can leave now." She let out a barely perceptible sigh of relief and gave Wukong and Situ Yu a grateful look.

"Can we take this child with us now?" Yueyue asked timidly.

“Yes, you can take him now. We’ll call you when we find the child’s parents,” the policewoman said.

“When will we be able to find the child’s parents?” Situ Yu asked.

The male police officer next to her interjected, “That’s hard to say. It could take a year and a half, or it could take eight or ten years. The most likely outcome is that this child will never see his biological parents again. The outcome depends mainly on whether the child’s parents will come to the police station to inquire, and if they happen to come to our station. According to our preliminary investigation, we haven’t received any reports of missing children from the surrounding area.”

“Why? Won’t the police proactively contact his biological parents?” Situ Yu asked.

“Of course we will. According to

established procedures, the police will publish the child’s photo online, and then we’ll wait for his parents to come and claim him,” the male police officer said helplessly. “We can’t go door-to-door asking. You can take him home first, but I must remind you to be prepared for long-term care. Because based on past experience, it’s very difficult to find the biological parents of such missing children.”

“That’s even better, we’ll raise him,” Yueyue said happily. Looking at the little boy in her arms, who seemed to understand Yueyue's words, she grinned innocently.

"Sister Yu, come quick! He smiled at me again. Maybe he understands me!" Yueyue said with delight.

"Really? Let me hold him." Situ Yu stepped forward and took the little boy. The boy looked up at her delicate, fair face, giggling. Situ Yu was overjoyed and leaned down to give him a big kiss, saying, "Hehe, we might really be destined for each other!" After

leaving the police station, Yueyue and Situ Yu were both in high spirits, but Zhu Bajie was the only one with his head down, looking sullen. Even after getting into Situ Yu's "BMW," Zhu Bajie remained silent

.

"Idiot, why haven't you said a word since we left the police station? Did you go too far with your boasting inside and are you reflecting on it now?" Wukong, sitting in the back, teased Bajie beside him.

"It's alright, couldn't you have come ten or twenty minutes later? You had to arrive just when I was having the best conversation with the beautiful policewoman. It's so frustrating. Sigh, a dramatic love story was about to unfold, and you two cruelly nipped it in the bud!" Bajie said irritably.

Wukong then realized the reason for Bajie's sullen mood; the fool's old habit of being delusional had struck again.

"Haha, the fool's been swooning again. But I have to tell you, when we arrived, that beautiful policewoman breathed a sigh of relief; she couldn't wait for you to disappear!" Wukong said.

"Nonsense! When she held my hand, her eyes were filled with deep love. With my discerning eye for love, of course I could see it at a glance!" Bajie said, head held high, clearly unconvinced.

Chapter 201 Strange Names

Bajie kept grumbling the whole way, complaining incessantly about Wukong and Situ Yu's ill-timed arrival, ruining his good time. Wukong grew impatient and threatened him, "You idiot, aren't you annoying? You keep repeating the same few lines, there's nothing new about them! If you keep bothering me, I'll twist your pig ears off and stir-fry them with my wine!"

Bajie finally stopped talking; he was genuinely afraid Wukong would get angry and twist his pig ears off. He didn't dare say it aloud, but in his heart he was cursing Wukong mercilessly.

"Idiot, are you cursing me in your mind?" Wukong glanced at Bajie's moving lips and asked calmly.

"No, no," Bajie quickly denied.

"No? I can hear a voice cursing me in your stomach."

"You're not a tapeworm in my stomach, how would you know what my stomach is saying?" Bajie glared at Wukong.

"I can understand ventriloquism, so I know exactly what you're thinking," Wukong said with a grin.

Yueyue chuckled in the front seat and said, "Brother Sun, can you really hear what people are thinking? Then listen and see what I'm thinking right now."

"You're thinking, 'I wish I could have a child this cute!' Right? Yueyue, you're so shameless! You're still a little girl, and you already want a child?" Wukong blurted out.

Yueyue blushed at his words and said coquettishly, "No, no, not at all! Brother Sun, you're just guessing."

They chatted and laughed as they returned to Situ Yu's house. Situ Nan and his wife were already waiting impatiently in the living room. Hearing the doorbell ring, they didn't wait for the maid to open the door and quickly went to open it.

"Godmother, look, the little boy is back!" Yueyue held the little boy up to show Madam Situ.

The Situ couple leaned closer to look, and saw that the little boy was truly adorable, with fair skin and bright, dark eyes. Seeing Madam Situ's kind face, he wasn't afraid at all, and even grinned.

"Oh my, what a well-behaved child!" Madam Situ exclaimed happily, "Let me hold him. Yueyue, come here, let me hold him."

"Okay, Godmother, please take him."

Yueyue gently handed the little boy to Madam Situ.

Madam Situ took

the boy, holding him happily, gently rocking him while smiling at his face. She said, "Look at his full forehead and bright eyes; he'll definitely be extraordinary when he grows up."

Situ Nan nodded in agreement, saying, "When I was young, I studied physiognomy with a sorcerer. Judging from this child's face, he'll surely be a person of great wealth and honor."

Several maids who had come to see the spectacle giggled, saying, "Once he's in Mr. Situ's house, of course he'll be a person of great wealth and honor!"

"Wrong," Situ Nan said earnestly, "you don't understand. A person with a noble destiny, even if born into a beggar's family, will always rise above others one day. Fate is predetermined; a person's destiny is already decided from the day they are born. Whether they are a dragon or a phoenix is already ordained by heaven." The maids

nodded earnestly, a touch of sadness in their hearts. They thought to themselves, "Is being someone's servant today also ordained by heaven? This fate is too unfair!"

Mrs. Situ carried the child back to the living room, her heart pounding with affection as she held

him tightly, unwilling to let go. "Mommy, don't just be happy, have you thought of a name for him?" Situ Yu asked.

"Yes, I've already thought of a

name," Mrs. Situ said happily.

"What is it?" Situ Yu asked eagerly. The others quieted down, all wanting to know what kind of good name Mrs. Situ had chosen for the child.

"Little Yu, you should remember me telling you that it was drizzling the day you were born, so your father and I named you Situ Yu. Now that this child has come to our Situ family, of course he'll also have the surname Situ. And since the day is sunny, how about Situ Yangguang (Situ Sunshine)? It has a good meaning, symbolizing a bright and sunny future for him. What do you all think of this name?"

"Hmm, not bad," Situ Nan was the first to agree.

"Situ Yangguang? That sounds beautiful!" Situ Yu was also very happy.

"Then you'll be called Situ Yangguang from now on! Okay, Little Sunshine?" Mrs. Situ said, looking down at the little boy in her arms. The little boy, his face flushed and kicking, looked very unhappy. Suddenly, he uttered three clear words: "Li Shimin..."

The boy's sudden speech startled everyone. This little boy had never spoken before; his sudden ability to talk was truly

astonishing .

"Oh, oh, little darling, what did you just say? I didn't quite understand," Madam Situ asked curiously, still surprised.

"Li Shimin." This time, the voice from his little mouth was even clearer, and everyone present heard it clearly.

"Li Shimin? Mom, he might have told us his name is Li Shimin," Situ Yu was the first to react.

"Li Shimin? That's amazing! That's the name of Emperor Taizong of Tang!" Situ Nan exclaimed in astonishment.

Situ Yu pondered for a moment and said, "There's nothing strange about that. A name is just a written symbol. Like those two, one's called Sun Wukong and the other Zhu Bajie—those names are weird, and they startled me quite a bit back then. I think this child's name is Li Shimin, maybe his biological parents gave him that name?"

Just as Situ Yu finished speaking, the little boy spoke again, startling everyone once more.

Chapter 202 Favoritism

Situ Yu was guessing that the name "Li Shimin" might have been given to the little boy by his parents when he heard the boy utter another sentence from his childish mouth that shocked everyone: "I am Li Shimin, Emperor Taizong of Tang!"

The most surprised was Situ Nan. He couldn't believe that this little brat actually recognized himself as Emperor Taizong of Tang, Li Shimin. Although he had previously praised the boy's extraordinary physique and noble appearance, the child's words still astonished him. Li Shimin was an emperor of the Tang Dynasty; how could this child be him? Could he really be the reincarnation of Li Shimin?

"Since you say you are Li Shimin, do you remember who your parents are?" Situ Nan asked him.

"My father is Emperor Gaozu of Tang, Li Yuan, and my mother is Empress Dou," the child answered fluently.

"A miracle! A true miracle! This is an incredibly strange thing!" Situ Nan exclaimed excitedly. "Children speak without thinking, and it's unlikely a child would lie. This is indeed very bizarre! My Situ family has encountered a series of strange events. First, we met the magical McKee, and now this child claims to be Emperor Taizong of Tang, Li Shimin. It seems the Situ family is plagued by strange occurrences. I wonder if this is a blessing or a curse?"

"Since

he has entered our Situ family, whoever he is, it's fate. We should treat him well," Madam Situ said kindly.

Wukong already knew about the Six Paths of Reincarnation, so he wasn't particularly surprised by the child's strange behavior. His only question was: those who reincarnate must drink the Meng Po soup to forget their past lives, so why could the child still remember that his past life was Emperor Taizong of Tang, Li Shimin?

"Do you know my master, Tang Sanzang?" Wukong asked tentatively.

"Where is my younger brother now?" the child asked eagerly.

"Oh, he's still a monk. I'll bring him to see you sometime," Wukong said with a grin. Situ Yu and Yueyue stared wide-eyed in astonishment. What they were seeing was utterly unbelievable; they would never have believed it if they hadn't seen it with their own eyes. A child less than a year old was answering questions so fluently, it seemed both real and unreal.

"Li Shimin? Then aren't you a little emperor?" Situ Yu found it both surprising and amusing, pinching the little boy's nose with her right hand and teasing him. The little boy smiled innocently again, giggling and dancing with joy. Bajie chuckled and said, "This is going to be interesting! The Situ family has a little emperor! Doesn't that make the Situ family an imperial family?"

"Everyone, please don't spread this around. If the media finds out, they'll embellish it and it won't be good for the child's development. To avoid causing a sensation, don't name him Li Shimin. How about Situ Yangguang?" Situ Nan asked.

The child remained silent, looking at everyone with his big, round eyes.

"Great! Then you can call me 'sister' from now on. They are my parents, so you can call them 'Dad' and 'Mom' too," Situ Yu said, pointing to Situ Yu and his wife.

"Dad, Mom," the little boy called out obediently. Mrs. Situ beamed, unable to stop smiling, and said repeatedly, "Hehe, we have another good son! Including Yueyue, the Situ family has three children now!" Situ Nan and his wife had a child late in life, and although he wasn't their biological son, it still made them incredibly happy.

Wukong, however, was secretly plotting. He remembered that his master, Tang Sanzang, constantly talked about Emperor Taizong of Tang, Li Shimin, on the Western Paradise.

What would Wukong's reaction be if he knew that Li Shimin had been reincarnated?

Just as he was about to discuss this with Bajie, Bajie seemed to know what Wukong was thinking and pulled him aside to whisper, "Brother, do you think this child is really the reincarnation of Li Shimin? When we descended to the mortal realm, Master kept telling us to inquire about Li Shimin's whereabouts. Now that we have the results, should we tell Master?"

“Hehe, you seem to know what I’m thinking, you know. I was just about to discuss this with you. If he really is the reincarnation of Li Shimin, I think it’s better to tell Master this news, so he won’t keep nagging us about it. But there’s one thing I don’t quite understand. Logically speaking, before reincarnation, one has to drink Meng Po’s soup, and after drinking it, all past lives are forgotten. But he still remembers his past life, which is a bit strange,” Wukong said.

“That’s easy to handle. I’ll go ask him and see how he answers,” Bajie said. Then he actually went over and said to the little boy with a gentle smile, “Little Yangguang, since you remember your past life so clearly, do you remember how you were reincarnated? Didn’t Meng Po offer you soup?

“The judge in charge of cases in Fengdu, Cui Jue, was my father’s Vice Minister of Rites in the mortal world. He led me across the Naihe Bridge, politely declined Meng Po’s soup, and came directly to the Six Paths of Reincarnation, returning me to the mortal world,” Situ Yangguang said without hesitation.

"Hehe, no wonder you remember your past life so clearly. It turns out Judge Cui is sentimental, and Meng Po is biased. The underworld is just like the mortal world; having connections in the imperial court makes things easier! This principle applies everywhere. However, I don't like your sour tone. What 'I' and 'I'? It's a new era now, there are no emperors anymore! Yueyue, spend more time teaching him to speak properly." Pigsy chuckled.

Chapter 203 Double Happiness

He said to Madam Situ, "Mom, the movie Journey to the West will have its premiere in a few days. Why not celebrate both things together? Double happiness will add to the festive atmosphere!"

"Okay! That would be even better. When can the premiere start?" Madam Situ asked anxiously.

"In five days. The director said that post-production is basically complete, and they are now preparing for the premiere." Situ Yu said.

"That's wonderful! Double happiness! The Situ family hasn't been this lively in a long time. And there's more good news! Look at Xiao Yangguang, is he different from yesterday? Have you noticed he's grown a little taller?" Mrs. Situ asked mysteriously. Situ Yu and Yueyue both crowded around to look. Yueyue even reached out and gently pinched his little nose, making him dance with joy. Yueyue said, "Godmother, now that you mention it, I also think he's grown taller overnight. But apart from that, it seems like there's no difference. Little darling, call me 'sister'."

"Sister," Situ Yangguang called out clearly.

"And me?" Situ Yu teased him too.

"Sister," Situ Yangguang's voice was just as clear.

Yueyue

and Situ Yu burst into laughter.

"You can't believe it, can you? Let me tell you, this morning, Xiao Yangguang could actually walk, and he walked quite steadily!" Mrs. Situ said happily.

"Really? Let's put him down and see!" Situ Yu was overjoyed. She quickly took the child from her mother, put him on the ground, and helped him walk.

“You can let go, don’t be afraid, he walks very steadily,” said Madam Situ.

Situ Yu tried letting go, and the little boy indeed started walking around the room on his own, taking measured steps, swaying with every step, quite imposing.

“Haha, he walks with quite an air of authority. Is this the legendary imperial majesty?” Situ Yu laughed heartily.

“It’s so much fun! I’ll try walking like him too.” Yueyue also started walking around the room with measured steps, but her swaying gait looked more like a duck.

Chapter 204

The premiere of the movie Journey to the West was held in Lingwang City after the disaster. Because it had been announced that half of the box office revenue of Journey to the West would be donated to the disaster area to support reconstruction, the premiere of this movie triggered a new wave of charity. Domestic media rushed to see it, and many overseas media also came, making the premiere a highly anticipated movie event.

The lineup was also top-notch. Director Zhang Yi's fame in China was at its peak, naturally attracting other renowned directors and actors to support him. Two of the country's biggest martial arts stars, Cheng Kong and Li Ji, were present, and the female stars certainly wouldn't miss this opportunity to showcase themselves. Dressed to the nines, they posed and flaunted their allure in front of the reporters' cameras. Backless dresses and miniskirts were their go-to choices; they revealed everything they could, and even created opportunities to show what they couldn't. If the organizers hadn't asked everyone to wear plain clothes when invited, the scene would likely have been even more dazzling.

All the main cast members were present: Wu Yufu as Tang Sanzang, Li Guangliang as Zhu Bajie,

Huang Zhong as Sha Wujing, and of course, the exceptionally handsome Sun Wukong. These four became the focus of the entire event, especially Sun Wukong. Although he rose to fame through Journey to the West, he became a media darling, immediately surrounded by reporters upon his arrival.

In contrast, the actresses weren't as eye-catching. Although they had all put a lot of thought into their appearances, especially Qian Yanxiang, who played the "White Bone Demon," whose dress was extremely revealing, with her high, firm breasts seemingly about to burst out of her low-cut neckline, it only caused a brief commotion. After a flurry of flashes from the reporters' cameras, they shifted their focus back to Sun Wukong.

"Sun Wukong, was your name Sun Wukong from birth? Or is this just your stage name?" a reporter asked. This question had been bothering everyone else, so as soon as the reporter asked, everyone fell silent, waiting for Wukong's answer.

"No, I didn't have a name when I was born. My name was given to me by Patriarch Subhuti," Wukong replied expressionlessly. He felt a little agitated; being

surrounded by so many people was unpleasant. The barrage of questions felt like an interrogation, which was incredibly annoying. He actually didn't want to attend this premiere, but Situ Yu had insisted on dragging him along, and he couldn't refuse. As soon as the words left his mouth, Wukong regretted it. Subhuti had repeatedly warned him never to say he was his disciple. Now, even though he hadn't directly stated that he was Subhuti's disciple, revealing the patriarch's name was still a great disrespect.

Wukong's answer was so interesting that the reporters' curiosity was immediately piqued. They asked one after another, "Subhuti? That's a figure from mythology! Would he really name you?"

"Please describe the situation in detail, okay? For example, when did Subhuti name you? Were there any eyewitnesses?"

"What did Subhuti look like? Was his hair and beard black or white?"

Wukong's head was spinning. He glared and shouted, "You guys are annoying! There are many other famous people here. Why are you bothering me? Go interview them! Can't I have some peace and quiet?"

The reporters weren't

annoyed by Wukong's rudeness and continued to patiently ask questions.

"What's your relationship with producer Ms. Situ? Are you just friends, or something more?" A female reporter was clearly very interested in this question, her eyes sparkling as she asked.

"I heard you live at Ms. Situ's house, and there's a little boy of unknown origin in the Situ family. Can you explain that?" Before Wukong could answer, the reporter threw out this explosive question.

Wukong sighed deeply and said painfully, "Oh God, I really can't help but want to hit someone!" Situ Yu, seeing Wukong's impatient expression, quickly came over to his rescue, saying, "Reporters, your questions will be answered satisfactorily later. I can guarantee that the finale of the premiere will bring you a surprise. Please be patient and don't keep pressing me. Thank you for your cooperation."

Meanwhile, director Zhang Yi became the center of attention, surrounded by numerous female stars. Dressed like peacocks, these actresses found various excuses to approach Zhang Yi, trying to get close to him. Zhang Yi, radiant and full of energy, moved among the flowers, chatting and laughing, thoroughly enjoying himself.

"Oh, Director Zhang, it's been a year! You're still as charming as ever, captivating countless young girls!" A glamorous woman approached, taking Zhang Yi's arm and pressing her voluptuous body close to him, saying suggestively, "Congratulations, Director! Every film you direct is a masterpiece; it's impossible for it not to be a box office hit. I wonder when I, Lin Xixi, will have the honor of being chosen by Director Zhang and getting a chance to shine in one of your films?"

Zhang Yi wasn't very familiar with this Lin Xixi; he had only met her a few times at friends' dinners. Rumors circulated that she had ambiguous relationships with several directors, that her acting was terrible, and that she only relied on her alluring body to make a living in the film industry, remaining only a semi-famous, not very well-known figure. Unexpectedly, she acted like they were old friends right away; her skin was truly thick.

Chapter 205: Priceless Love.

Lin Xixi clung to Director Zhang Yi, cooing and trying to get close, ignoring the many envious or feignedly disdainful glances around them. This kind of sensual scene was nothing new to Zhang Yi; he was practically used to it. Next, she would subtly ask if there were any suitable roles for her, using flirtatious glances as a must, and sometimes even making ambiguous hints.

"Director Zhang, as you know, in the film industry, I, Lin Xixi, am considered a top-tier actress, so many roles are suitable for me. When you start a new film, Director Zhang, you should definitely consider me first." Lin Xixi pressed her warm body even closer to Zhang Yi's arm.

"Hehe, who in the film industry doesn't know that Miss Lin is not only stunningly beautiful but also a first-rate actress? Don't worry, when I start a new film, you'll be my first choice." Zhang Yi chuckled, offering her an empty promise. He makes countless empty promises like this throughout the year, never necessarily honoring them, writing them whenever he feels like it.

Lin Xixi gave him a killer wink, her smile brighter than spring peach blossoms, and said with a coquettish laugh,

" Director Zhang is so understanding; no wonder so many young women are infatuated with you. If you don't mind, I'd like to invite you to dinner after the premiere. Would you do me the honor?"

"I'm afraid not. Our crew is having a celebration banquet after the premiere, and as the director, I can't be absent," Zhang Yi said awkwardly.

"No problem, how about tomorrow night then?" Lin Xixi asked patiently, secretly giving Zhang Yi's arm a meaningful pinch.

"Alright, if I'm not busy tomorrow night, dinner wouldn't be out of the question," Zhang Yi said, feigning modesty. Lin Xixi's intentions were obvious, and Zhang Yi, being a man of the world, understood perfectly well.

"It's a deal, see you tomorrow night." Lin Xixi gave Zhang Yi a seductive smile, then turned and swayed into the theater. Zhang Yi watched her retreating figure, deeply moved. In this game, who is the hunter and who is the prey? Who can truly tell? But what's the point of being so clear? Who is the hunter and who is the prey doesn't matter; it's just a game, a highly arbitrary game of life, where there are never any winners or losers, only

mutual exploitation, taking or giving.

Zhang Yi followed her into the theater, leaving behind a group of envious actresses.

Finally, Wukong and Situ Yu also escaped the reporters' pursuit and entered the theater. Sitting down in the most prominent seat in the front row, Director Zhang Yi leaned over and asked, "Ms. Situ, the premiere is almost here. Please prepare to say a few words."

The premiere was hosted by the articulate and pure-looking Jin Ruolan. After a brilliant opening speech, as per the established procedure, everyone stood in silence for five minutes to mourn the victims of the disaster.

The atmosphere was heavy and somber.

"I previously stated that half of the box office revenue from Journey to the West would be donated to the disaster-stricken areas to support reconstruction. Here, I want to recite a poem that has been widely circulated online, dedicated to the people of the disaster area, and also to the many kind-hearted people who care about them. Love is priceless; I hope everyone will offer their selfless love." Situ Yu read with deep emotion: "

Child, hold your mother's hand tightly

, child,

hold your mother's hand tightly.

The road to heaven

is too dark

, I'm afraid you

'll bump your head. Hold your mother's hand

tightly , let me walk with you . I 'm afraid the road to heaven is too dark, I can't see your hand since..." The collapsed wall stole the sunlight, and I can no longer see your tender eyes. Child , go on your journey. There is no more sorrow on the road ahead , no endless textbooks , and no father's fists. Remember what your father and I look like. In the next life, we will walk together again. Mother , don't worry, the road to heaven is crowded, with many classmates and friends. We said we wouldn't cry. Every mother is our mother. Mother, every child is a mother's child. In the days without me , give your love to the living children. Mother, Mother , don't cry. Tears cannot light our way. Let us walk slowly on our own. Mother, I will remember what your father and I look like, remember our promise, and walk together in the next life! After reciting the entire poem, Situ Yu was already in tears, sobbing uncontrollably. She raised her tear-streaked face, trying to suppress her inner bitterness, and said emotionally, "The filming of Journey to the West took more than half a year and traveled all the way to Aolai Kingdom. It can be said that the crew put in a lot of effort, and I am very gratified. Today, many friends from the film industry have come to support us. I hope that after the film is officially released to the market, the box office revenue will be a great success, benefiting the people in the disaster area. This is my wish, and I hope to receive everyone's strong support!" " Situ Yu's speech ended, receiving prolonged applause. At the premiere of Chapter 206, 'Arrogant at First, Respectful Later ,' the actors' superb performances captivated the audience, especially Wukong's extraordinary skills, which required virtually no stunt doubles. The scenes were also free of artistic editing, appearing realistic and lifelike. Even renowned martial arts stars Cheng Kong and Li Ji couldn't help but give a thumbs up. After the film ended, the theater resounded with prolonged applause."

"Congratulations, Ms. Situ! Your film is a great success! I believe it will be a box office hit. Journey to the West is an excellent film theme, and with the brilliant performance of the lead actor, Sun Wukong, it's hard for this film not to be a success. I can boldly predict that your film will not only be popular with audiences in China, but will also cause a viewing frenzy in overseas markets. I guarantee it. Ms. Situ, it's truly commendable that you've achieved such great success with your first film as a producer!" The internationally renowned director, Hu An, came to Situ Yu to congratulate her.

"Thank you! I'm truly flattered that Director Hu has taken time out of his busy schedule to support me! However, the film's success is mainly due to director Zhang Yi and the

hardworking actors. I am very grateful to them," Situ Yu said emotionally.

"Good, not taking credit or being arrogant. It's rare to see such good manners at such a young age, Ms. Situ! I very much hope to have the opportunity to work with you," Hu An said, extending his hand to shake Situ Yu's hand. Situ Yu was somewhat taken aback. Hu An's arrogance was a well-known fact in the film industry. Before approaching Zhang Yi for direction, she had contacted Hu An, who had declined, citing a tight schedule—a clear indication of his disdain for her, a fledgling producer. Unexpectedly, six months later, this red-hot director had proactively extended an olive branch.

"Working with a director as renowned as you would be ideal," Situ Yu said. Inwardly, however, she thought, "Hu An, your initial arrogance followed by obsequiousness is beneath you. You might as well stick to your haughtiness."

The Situ couple also received many congratulations. Among those attending the premiere were numerous government officials and wealthy individuals, all coming to congratulate Situ Yu and her parents. The Situ couple smiled and accepted the congratulations.

Everyone

noticed the little boy in Mrs. Situ's arms and cast questioning glances at her, their silent gazes likely searching for the answer. Madam Situ maintained a composed and unwavering demeanor, a smile playing on her lips.

"Madam Situ, your child is so adorable! Whose child is it?" A glamorous, bejeweled lady approached, bending down to examine the child in Madam Situ's arms.

"Take a guess," Madam Situ asked with a smile.

"Judging by your sweet expression, it couldn't be yours, could it?" The lady's lips curled into a barely perceptible smirk, thinking to herself, "You're so old, how could you possibly have a child? Absolutely impossible.

" "Hehe, no, no! You guessed wrong the first time," Madam Situ said with a laugh.

The lady frowned, pondering for a moment, then feigned difficulty, saying, "Wrong guess? Could it be your daughter's child? Your daughter doesn't seem to be married yet."

"No, no, this child isn't Xiaoyu's child either." Madam Situ glanced at Situ Yu beside her, whose expression remained calm, revealing nothing of her thoughts.

The wealthy woman, filled with suspicion,

leaned whispered in Madam Situ's ear, "I've guessed it. Is he Mr. Situ's son with some vixen? Madam Situ, I truly feel sorry for you. You treat your husband's illegitimate child like a precious treasure? Even if you desperately want a son to inherit your Situ family's vast fortune, you don't have to humiliate yourself like this."

The woman's incessant chatter made Madam Situ want to vomit. This gossipy woman's only hobby was prying into other people's privacy, and she possessed an extraordinary imagination. Madam Situ felt extremely disgusted and wanted to spit on the woman's expressive face, but it was just a thought. Madam Situ was a calm person and would never act rashly. She knew very well that although this gossipy woman was vulgar, her husband was the vice mayor of Lingwang City, with considerable power. Madam Situ didn't want to fall out with her unless absolutely necessary.

"You're all wrong. If you want to know the truth, the answer will come later. First, watch the stars' performance," Mrs. Situ said calmly, suppressing her disgust.

At this moment, colorful lights flashed on the grand stage, and the drums and music were enthusiastic and

surging. A singer with decent skills was performing a cover of Jay Chou's well-known song "Nunchucks" while skillfully wielding nunchucks.

The smell of smoke from the barbecue shop filled the air. Next door was a martial arts school.

The madam inside had a tea house with a third-degree black

belt. The owner taught martial arts and kung fu. He practiced Iron Palm and Yang Family Spear. He

had a solid foundation in kung fu and was most skilled in Golden Bell Cover and Iron Shirt.

Chapter 207 Itching Hands After the singer finished singing a song about nunchucks, he clasped his hands and said to the audience, "I just performed a nunchuck routine, and I feel a little unsatisfied. Now I'll perform a routine of one nunchuck against two knives. I hope you enjoy it."

Two wielderly young men, each carrying a gleaming broadsword, entered the stage, bowing to the audience before engaging in a sparring match with a singer wielding nunchucks. The three had clearly practiced extensively; their movements were fluid and skillful, the fight thrilling yet ultimately harmless. While it looked spectacular, to experts, it resembled children playing tag—too much artifice, making it seem childish.

After the sparring session, enthusiastic applause erupted from the audience. As the saying goes, the layman sees the spectacle, the expert sees the skill; the layman was clearly the majority.

"I've made a fool of myself, thank you for the applause!" the singer said, bowing to the audience.

Wukong, watching from below, was itching to try it himself, rubbing his hands together, standing up and sitting down repeatedly, clearly eager to join in.

"Wukong, what are you doing? You seem unsteady on your feet. Perhaps the air in the theater is too stuffy, and you want to get some fresh air?"

Situ Yu, sitting next to him, asked with concern.

"I really can't hold back anymore!" Wukong practically shouted.

"Wukong, the toilet's over there." Situ Yu, thinking Wukong needed to use the restroom, shyly pointed out its location.

"Hehe, I don't need to pee." Wukong laughed, and with a light leap, his body landed gracefully in the center of the stage like a bird.

"Wukong, don't cause trouble!" Situ Yu hurriedly stopped him. But seeing Wukong already on stage, she could only watch helplessly, secretly praying that Wukong wouldn't disrupt the premiere's program.

The audience, unaware that Wukong's action was impulsive, assumed it was part of the organizers' plan. Seeing Wukong easily leap from his seat to the center of the stage, they applauded his extraordinary lightness skill.

"Wow, what amazing lightness skill! The posture is so beautiful!" someone exclaimed.

"Hehe, he should sign up for the Olympic long jump competition; the long jump gold medal would definitely be his. I think jumping 100 meters wouldn't be a problem." Someone's imagination ran wild. Hehe, what a scene it would be like if Sun Wukong participated in the Olympic long jump competition!

Will those

"One hundred meters? Are you seeing things? From his seat to the stage, it's at least two hundred meters. And he didn't even need a running start!" another person exclaimed.

Wukong, with his sharp ears, heard everyone's exclamations clearly. He thought, "Heh, I just casually took a small step, and everyone's amazed. If I did a somersault, they'd all faint."

Sure enough, Wukong's jump startled the singer holding nunchucks. Upon closer inspection, he realized it was Sun Wukong, the important character of the day. He calmed down and asked softly, "Mr. Sun, there wasn't a scene between us in rehearsals. Why are you up here?"

Wukong chuckled and said, "I saw you wielding those nunchucks so skillfully, and I felt itchy to try it myself."

"But the director didn't arrange that. It seems Sun Lei's performance is next," the singer whispered.

"Haha, who cares about directors or anything like that? Let's have a go! As long as I'm happy, I'll be right down there," Wukong said with a grin. He

snatched a large sword from one of the swordsmen and frantically brandished it. Although it lacked any real technique, Wukong's movements were fast enough, and his strength was astonishing, so he wielded it with impressive power, the sword flashing.

"Great! That's fantastic!" The audience below had never seen Wukong create this sword technique on the spot and assumed it was his unique skill, so they cheered loudly. The large sword felt too light in Wukong's hands, so he handed it to the singer, saying, "This sword is too light. How about we exchange it for those nunchucks?"

The singer looked helplessly at Zhang Yi in the audience with pleading eyes. Zhang Yi was also completely confused, wondering what Sun Wukong was doing up there. This scene wasn't in the program. Maybe Wukong saw others having fun and wanted to try his hand at it too. Zhang Yi knew a little about Wukong's playful nature; he often acted impulsively during filming, and Zhang Yi usually let him be unless it went too far. Since Wukong was already on stage, let him have some fun, consider it a way to liven up the premiere. Seeing the singer's pleading look, Zhang Yi nodded encouragingly. "Sigh, I guess I have to do it anyway," the singer sighed helplessly. Although the previous performance was quite lively, it was something they practiced regularly, they had a tacit understanding, and the moves were well-rehearsed, so it was usually safe without any real danger. But he had never practiced with Wukong, and now that he suddenly brought it up, he was unsure of himself. Hearing Wukong say he wanted to trade his broadsword for his nunchucks, the singer handed over the nunchucks without hesitation. Heh heh, having a broadsword was definitely better than nunchucks; being hit by nunchucks wouldn't be a big problem, but being slashed by this gleaming broadsword would have unimaginable consequences.

Wukong took the nunchucks, which were even lighter than his own golden cudgel. They felt flimsy in his hands, offering no real leverage. Although both were staffs, these nunchucks were far inferior. Wukong imitated the singer's movements, wielding them with surprising skill. The audience only saw a blur of staffs enveloping Wukong, the whistling wind emanating from within. The singer

's hand went limp, his broadsword clattering to the ground, and he stood frozen in shock.

April 25th,
Chapter 208: Unexpected Turn of Events.

Wukong put away his nunchucks and asked suspiciously, "Hey, your knife fell on the ground, why don't you pick it up? Come on, stop watching me wield the nunchucks, pick up the knife, let's warm up."

The singer, unwilling to fight, said with a mournful face, "Brother, I'm just a singer. Those few nunchuck moves were just for entertainment, a fancy display. I don't actually know any kung fu, let alone fight you."

Wukong was greatly disappointed and said angrily, "I thought you were a nunchuck master, but you're just a good-for-nothing who can only fool the audience."

The audience below, seeing that the two hadn't made a move, were confused and impatiently shouted, "Why aren't you performing yet? We're all getting impatient!"

Jin Ruolan, the host for the day, was also a little confused when she saw Wukong go on stage. It wasn't on the program, and she thought it was a last-minute arrangement, so she didn't go to stop him. Hearing the commotion, he quickly went up on stage, smiling, and said, "Everyone, you're probably all very familiar with this handsome young man. He's none other than Mr. Sun Wukong, the male protagonist of Journey to the West

. He'd like to come up on stage for an impromptu performance. Let's give him a round of applause!" He then led the applause for Wukong.

The audience responded with enthusiastic applause.

"What am I supposed to perform?" Wukong asked, puzzled. "I just wanted to come up and have some fun with this singing brother. I didn't intend to perform anything."

"Brother Sun, show off your amazing staff skills and give the audience a laugh. Otherwise, they won't let you leave the stage," Jin Ruolan said.

"Playing alone is no fun. Let's play together," Sun Wukong beckoned to the singer, saying, "It'll be more fun with him practicing with me."

"Him? But he doesn't know martial arts. If he gets hurt, it'll just make us a laughingstock," Jin Ruolan said, troubled. Knowing that Wukong was talking about him, the singer hurriedly shook his head and waved his hands, refusing, "No, no, I won't fight him no matter what. Really, I'd rather not have my appearance fee. Consider tonight a good deed and a show of support. I'd better leave now!" With that, he turned to leave the stage.

Jin Ruolan quickly grabbed his arm and whispered, "You can't leave. Just give a haphazard performance; as long as it fools the audience, that's fine."

"No, I won't do it," the singer said hastily. "

Sun Wukong is very ruthless; he doesn't show any mercy. Only a fool would fight him."

“You’ve only met Sun Wukong for the first time today, how do you know he’s ruthless? That’s just hearsay, don’t believe it,” Jin Ruolan comforted him. The singer smiled bitterly and said, “Hearsay? Is it also a rumor that my good friend Hu Gang had several ribs broken by him with one palm? I want to live a few more years, I don’t want to play games with my life, excuse me.” After saying that, he left the stage without looking back.

The audience booed loudly.

“Coward!”

“Idiot!”

“Boring!”

The jeers were endless. Everyone was a little disappointed. They thought there would be a good show, but one side had to withdraw, which was really disappointing.

“Brother Sun, this…” Jin Ruolan whispered to Wukong, “The next program is Sun Lei singing, you can just do a little staff technique and then go down.” Wukong was uninterested and said, “Everyone’s gone, what interest do I have in performing alone?” So he clasped his hands and said to the audience, “I’m not in the mood to play around here alone, I’ll go first.” After saying that, he also turned around and walked off the stage.

"Stop! Don't move!

" A man rushed onto the stage.

Hearing the shout, Jin Ruolan was startled. Looking closely, she recognized him as Hu Gang, the actor who initially played Sun Wukong. Hu Gang was one of the top martial arts stars in China, on par with Cheng Kong and Li Ji. He had also contributed to the early filming of the movie, so his attendance at the premiere seemed perfectly natural. Wukong recognized him too. As Hu Gang hurried to the center of the stage, Wukong grinned and said, "Hu Gang, long time no see! How have you been?"

"Hmph, I'm not dead yet! Thanks to that punch you gave me, my ribs still ache before the wind and rain. You could say I can predict the weather with my ribs—I'm more accurate than the meteorological department at predicting sunny and rainy days. I'd like to find time to personally visit you and thank you!" Hu Gang said sarcastically.

"Hehe, no need for thanks. Perhaps it's because you've done so many good deeds that Heaven is favoring you! With a little more diligent study, you might even surpass Zhuge Liang and Liu Bowen in your achievements!" Wukong said sincerely. Hu Gang thought Wukong was mocking him and was furious. He coldly said, "Sun Wukong, even now, you're still making sarcastic remarks?"

"Am I making sarcastic remarks? No, I'm sincerely congratulating you," Wukong said with a grin.

"Hmph, I won't waste any more time on nonsense. My singer friend didn't dare to fight you earlier because he was afraid of your ruthlessness, but I, Hu Gang, am not afraid! I suffered at your hands in Aolai Kingdom because I wasn't prepared. This time, I'm prepared. I'm fighting for honor, to defeat you on my Chinese soil, in front of so many people!" Hu Gang said with a strong voice.

"Hehe, the Nine-Turn Golden Elixir I shamelessly begged for is indeed incredibly effective. Hu Gang has recovered completely in a short time. Not bad, not bad," Wukong secretly rejoiced. He chuckled softly and said to Hu Gang, "You said you came prepared, so what have you prepared?"

"I've prepared this opponent!" Hu Gang stretched out his hands and said to Wukong, "You once injured me with your hands, and I'll use these hands to avenge myself!"

Chapter 209 I Am Buddha

Jin Ruolan, seeing things were amiss, hurriedly came over to persuade him, "Hu Gang, can't we settle any personal grudges later? This is the premiere, don't ruin the atmosphere." Hu Gang huffed, "No, I want to choose this time to settle things with him. Since there are so many people, they can witness that I, Hu Gang, am not a coward, and I am a hero who always seeks revenge." After returning home, Hu Gang sought out famous teachers everywhere, believing his skills had improved considerably; his hands could now split rocks and break trees. He didn't know that the Nine-Turn Golden Elixir that Wukong had obtained for him had greatly helped him, increasing his internal strength by several levels.

Jin Ruolan cast a pleading look at Situ Yu, seeing that Situ Yu was also watching the situation on the field with concern. Sigh, how did a perfectly good premiere suddenly turn into a martial arts arena? This Hu Gang seems to have come prepared. However, Situ Yu is well aware of the difference in strength between Wukong and Hu Gang, so there doesn't seem to be anything to worry about. Let's just treat it as an impromptu performance at the premiere, and let everyone witness Wukong's true skills. Situ Yu pondered this in her heart, then smiled sweetly at Jin Ruolan and nodded slightly.

Jin Ruolan

understood, knowing that Situ Yu didn't object to the duel between the two, so she quietly stepped aside.

"Avenge is a must? Good, good! How do you want to avenge this?" Wukong asked with a smile. Although he had been given a Nine-Turn Golden Pill, which had increased his power invisibly, Hu Gang was still holding back his anger. Since that was the case, he would let him have a couple of moves, hoping to make him back down. "

It's simple, let me return the favor with one palm, and we'll be even," Hu Gang said confidently. He was still full of confidence in his rapid progress. With a single palm strike, even a small mountain of rocks would shatter, let alone a person. He had been waiting for this opportunity, and now it was right in front of him. Hu Gang's heart pounded. Haha, not only could he avenge his previous humiliation, but he could also save face in front of so many film industry giants. It would be hard not to become incredibly famous afterward!

Wukong, however, was unimpressed, laughing and saying, "One palm strike? Don't even mention one, even a hundred or a thousand, I, Old Sun, would gladly accept them without batting an eye."

Hmph, what arrogance! Hu Gang secretly chuckled. Did you think I, Hu Gang, was still the same Hu Gang from a few months ago? Wrong. The current Hu Gang was determined

to teach you a lesson. Hu Gang laughed and said, "No need, I only need one palm strike! Get ready, you can call an ambulance first."

"Come on, let me see what tricks you have up your sleeve," Wukong said calmly. Hu Gang assumed a horse stance in front of Wukong, then shouted and threw his right fist, accompanied by a faint whooshing sound, towards Wukong's chest.

Just as his fist was about to touch Wukong's chest, Wukong remained firmly rooted to the spot, showing no intention of dodging. Hu Gang was overjoyed, thinking, "You're so arrogant, just you wait and see!" Hu Gang's fist struck Wukong's chest, but it felt like hitting thin air, without any force. Hu Gang was shocked, wondering how this could be. Suddenly, a powerful surge of energy erupted from Wukong's chest, crashing towards Hu Gang with overwhelming force. Hu Gang lost his footing, his body thrown back five or six zhang (approximately 10-15 meters), before crashing heavily to the ground.

How could this be? Hu Gang's eyes widened in disbelief. His right fist had clearly worked, but it wasn't Sun Wukong who was thrown back; it was himself! It was truly unbelievable.

The audience below the stage, like Hu Gang, felt puzzled. They hadn't even seen

Sun Wukong make a move, yet Hu Gang had been thrown five or six zhang (approximately 10-13 meters

) away. Hu Gang was, after all, a top martial arts star in the film industry; how could he be so easily defeated? Hu Gang was losing face. To embarrass himself in front of so many big names in the film industry, if he didn't find a way to regain his dignity, how could

he ever work in the film industry again? With this in mind, he disregarded his previous promise, rushed forward, picked up the large knife from the ground, and swung it at Wukong's head. Wukong was talking to Jin Ruolan to the side, and it seemed he hadn't noticed Hu Gang's attack at all. Jin Ruolan, however, saw it clearly. Seeing Hu Gang's large knife coming down on Wukong's head, she was terrified and shouted, "Brother Sun, be careful!"

Before she finished speaking, the large knife had already struck Wukong's head heavily with a loud "bang."

The audience below the stage gasped in surprise.

"Wukong!" In her panic, Situ Yu disregarded her composure and stood up, about to run towards the stage.

However, the situation on stage once again left the audience utterly astonished. Wukong turned around, scratched his head, and said casually, "That wasn't enough force, about the same as when I'm tickling someone." He then grinned

at Hu Gang.

Hu Gang was so shocked his eyes nearly popped out of his head, staring blankly at Wukong as if he were a ghost. He looked at the large sword in his hand; a large chip had already been chipped off.

"Are you...a human or a ghost?" Hu Gang asked, his voice trembling.

"Haha, are you out of your mind? Such a ridiculous question! I'm Sun Wukong, of course I'm a Buddha, not some human or ghost!" Wukong laughed heartily.

Chapter 210 The Mystery

The audience below witnessed the spectacular scene that had just unfolded, applause and screams mingling together, almost lifting the entire theater to its limit. Hu Gang completely lost the courage to even pick up his knife; the broadsword clattered to the ground, his legs buckled, and he almost collapsed. Wukong stepped forward and helped him up, grinning, "Hu Gang, no need for formalities, just stand."

Hu Gang didn't intend to kneel before Wukong; he was just too terrified and almost collapsed. Hearing Wukong's words, Hu Gang didn't know what to say and awkwardly replied, "I'm inferior in skill, and I deserve to be humiliated, but I don't want to kneel before you. I'll remember the hurt you caused me for the rest of my life."

"Hu Gang," Wukong patiently explained, "some things aren't worth holding grudges about. It's true, I hurt you before, but it was a misunderstanding. I didn't mean it. Besides, I gave you a

pill , he felt he should comfort him. It's better to resolve conflicts than to let them fester.

A word from Wukong jolted Hu Gang awake. He pondered carefully; after taking Wukong's pills, his body was indeed stronger than before, and his internal energy had increased considerably. He had always thought it was due to diligent practice, but Wukong's explanation made everything clear—it was a blessing in disguise.

Hu Gang clasped his hands in a fist salute and said, "What you said seems quite right. I feel much better than before. Let's call it even; from now on, our feud is wiped clean. Honestly, your portrayal of Sun Wukong was very realistic; I don't think I have that level of skill. Congratulations!" Hu Gang sincerely congratulated him.

"You two can go down and chat some more; there are still some exciting performances to come!" Jin Ruolan gracefully walked over and said softly. Their reconciliation was the best possible outcome; otherwise, if they had continued their arguing, the premiere would have been difficult to continue.

"Yes, yes, let's give up the stage and go down and chat some more." Sun Wukong grabbed Hu Gang's arm, leaped up, and gracefully flew off the stage with him.

"Great! Great! So touching!" The audience exclaimed in surprise and high praise. These two clowns, who had been at each other's throats just moments before, were now holding hands and leaping off the stage together—the speed of their transformation was simply unbelievable.

The stage continued with more exciting performances, including popular singers showcasing their beautiful voices and a group of young, beautiful girls performing a hot dance, turning the premiere into a dynamic and joyful cultural evening. The joint performance by martial arts stars Cheng Kong and Li Ji brought the evening to a climax. It turned out that these two stars were not only exceptionally skilled in martial arts but also possessed considerable artistic talent. Cheng Kong sang remarkably well, barely off-key. Li Ji, wielding a huge calligraphy brush, spontaneously wrote the character "武" (martial arts) on a large sheet of Xuan paper, his strokes flowing and powerful.

The audience responded with enthusiastic applause.

"I'm not very well-educated, so please don't laugh at my singing," Cheng Kong said modestly. His signature smile graced his face. As a renowned martial arts superstar, his friendly smile had always been beloved by audiences, earning him unwavering support.

"Who says you sing badly? I think you

sing beautifully!" a graceful young woman shouted, then swayed onto the stage, presenting Cheng Kong with a bouquet of vibrant roses. Cheng Kong bent down to accept the flowers, and the woman seized the opportunity to plant a firm kiss on his cheek—a crisp, resounding "pop" that ignited the audience's enthusiasm. Many screamed and stomped their feet in excitement.

"Thank you, thank you for the roses!" Cheng Kong smiled, his eyes narrowing into slits.

Li Ji's calligraphy also won everyone's admiration. A large character for "martial arts" (武) was powerfully written, its momentum majestic. Who says martial artists lack artistic talent? The actions of these two superstars overturned common prejudices against martial artists.

Just when everyone thought the premiere was about to conclude in a climax, and a grand celebration banquet was about to begin, Jin Ruolan walked smiling to the center of the stage and said, "The grand finale of the premiere is about to begin! Please welcome Mr. and Mrs. Situ Nan with enthusiastic applause!"

As soon as Jin Ruolan finished speaking, applause erupted like a storm. Everyone knew that although Situ Nan was a billionaire, he was always very low-key and rarely performed in public

, let alone with his wife on stage together. Could it be that they, with their childlike hearts, were going to come up on stage for a duet?

Situ Nan, arm in arm with his wife, gracefully walked onto the stage. Behind them followed the radiant Situ Yu, whose delicate hand led a beautiful young woman, who in turn held a little boy. The little boy wasn't shy at all; his big eyes darted around, looking at everyone with great interest.

"Hehe, that mysterious little boy has finally made his public appearance! The mystery we've been waiting for is about to be solved." Many reporters present couldn't contain their excitement.

Chapter 211: A Little Rascal with a Big Mind.

"Mr. Situ, what kind of performance are you going to give? Is it a family chorus?" a familiar audience member teased him.

"No, what kind of song could I sing with this lousy voice? I'd better not scare everyone." Situ Nan said with a smile.

Situ Nan straightened up, cleared his throat, and said loudly, "I, Situ Nan, have always been a low-key person, but lately I've become the object of media frenzy. Besides my donation of 500 million to support disaster relief and half of the box office revenue from this Journey to the West, there's another unspoken reason: the origin of this little boy. You can imagine what many of you reporters are thinking right now; I can guess without much guessing."

"He's really direct. No wonder he's a shrewd businessman; he speaks efficiently, one sentence at a time, without saying anything superfluous." A reporter whispered among the audience.

Situ Nan paused, then continued, "There are all sorts of speculations circulating about this little boy, nothing more than hearsay. However, some reporters have embellished them with their eloquent pens, making them quite dramatic. I haven't bothered to count how many versions of the story there are, but there are certainly quite a few. Some say this little boy is my illegitimate son, Situ Nan, while others say he's my grandson. Haha, I have to admit, these reporters have incredibly vivid imaginations! I must tell everyone that all these speculations are wrong."

"Wrong? How could that be?" a reporter muttered.

"Actually, this little boy was abducted by a fraud ring. The police haven't found out who his biological parents are, so he's temporarily being raised by our Situ family. I hereby declare that this little boy is officially my godson from today onwards, Situ Nan. I've already chosen his name: Situ Yangguang," Situ Nan said happily.

Situ Nan's words greatly surprised everyone. Some lamented the little boy's pitiful background, while others were skeptical of Situ Nan's words.

"Is what you're saying credible? What evidence do you have to prove it's true?" someone asked skeptically.

"If anyone has doubts, they can go to the police station to investigate; the police have records," Situ Nan said with a smile. "At the same time, I'd also like to introduce another new member of my Situ family, my goddaughter Liu

Yueyue, who is also my daughter Situ Yu's good friend."

Yueyue nodded and smiled shyly at everyone.

"From today onwards, the Situ family has two new members, which is truly something to celebrate! After the premiere, I've booked two hundred tables at the Bailan Hotel, and all guests attending the premiere are invited. Please do me the honor of attending," Situ Nan said cheerfully.

"Wow, that Liu Yueyue is absolutely stunning! Standing next to Situ Yu, they look like two beautiful flowers, so enviable!" a woman exclaimed admiringly.

The Bailan Grand Hotel is the most upscale hotel in Lingwang City, a five-star establishment located in the city center. The hotel owner is Situ Nan. Business is usually booming, but now it's packed with distinguished guests—high-ranking officials, wealthy businessmen, and celebrities—people most people rarely see. Their gathering adds to the city's prestige.

Situ Yangguang is the most excited, swaying and bounding around the room. Liu Yueyue, panting behind him, keeps saying, "Little Yangguang, don't run, you'll fall!" Little Yangguang ignores her, continuing his swaying walk. His

unique gait attracts everyone's attention, and many people take pictures of him. Little Yangguang isn't afraid at all; seeing camera lenses pointed at him, he even strikes what he thinks are cool poses for the photographers.

"Hehe, this child has the makings of a star. He'll definitely be a global superstar when he grows up," someone complimented.

"Pshaw, what's so great about being a superstar? I don't care!" Situ Yangguang said dismissively. After Liu Yueyue's tutelage these past few days, his usual highbrow mannerisms had disappeared; children learn so quickly, especially one with such exceptional comprehension.

"Wow, so young but ambitious! You don't even want to be a superstar, what do you want to be?" someone joked, finding him adorable.

"Haha, I want to be an emperor!" Situ Yangguang answered seriously. "

Oh my, quite ambitious indeed! But what era are we living in? Are there still emperors?" the onlookers laughed good-naturedly. "

Hmph, how can a sparrow understand the ambitions of a swan?" Situ Yangguang said disdainfully, then walked away with his head held high, leaving a group of dumbfounded adults and

glasses .

"A genius! A prodigy!" exclaimed an old scholar with thick glasses. "Such lofty ambitions at such a young age! He'll be comparable to Xiang Yu and the King of Qin when he grows up!"

Situ Yangguang ignored the murmurs and wobbled over to Liu Yueyue, saying, "Sister, I want a hug." Situ Yu picked him up, laughing, "Hehe, little Yangguang, are you tired from running around?"

Wukong teased him from the side, "Tired? You probably have ulterior motives!" Situ Yangguang made a face at him from Yueyue's arms.

"Hehe, I want to hug you too, little Yangguang." Wukong reached out, gesturing for Yueyue to give him to him. Situ Yangguang snuggled closer to Yueyue, repeatedly saying, "No need, no need, it's fine as long as you're holding me."

"Sister's tired, let me help her." Without further ado, Wukong took Situ Yangguang from Yueyue's arms.

"No, no, you smell like a monkey!" little Yangguang struggled.

Chapter 212 Promise:

Following the premiere of the film *Journey to the West*, it was officially released globally. Because the public knew beforehand about the film's charitable aspect, coupled with the overwhelming publicity, it became a highly anticipated blockbuster, sparking a viewing frenzy in China. Every city screening was packed to capacity. The international market was equally impressive; foreign audiences were quite interested in the fantastical story of *Journey to the West*, and the spectacular martial arts of Sun Wukong also impressed viewers accustomed to computer-generated special effects.

Within a week of its release, the film's box office revenue was phenomenal, reaching a staggering five billion. The cast and crew were naturally overjoyed. Director Zhang Yi's fame soared daily, and producers flocked to him to discuss making films, making it difficult for him to refuse their offers. While inwardly delighted, he remained outwardly composed, always wearing large sunglasses and displaying an aloof expression to everyone he met. The other actors also benefited greatly; the already famous became even more famous, and those who were only

moderately famous gradually rose to prominence. Even minor roles were being approached by directors for potential roles in their next films.

The protagonist, Sun Wukong, became a star in the public eye. According to a report in an entertainment newspaper, Hollywood's top director, Pierre Pierre, publicly stated that his biggest wish for the rest of his life was to recruit Sun Wukong to Hollywood and mold him into a top international martial arts superstar.

Wukong, of course, disdained these unsubstantiated newspaper reports. Besides, he wasn't particularly fond of newspapers; picking one up gave him a headache, more effective than Tang Sanzang reciting the headband mantra. Wukong preferred to stay indoors, watching television, listening to Situ Yu and Liu Yueyue chatter, or playing with Situ Yangguang, living a carefree and leisurely life. Equally carefree was Pigsy, who had longed for this leisurely life of eating his fill and waiting to defecate. He ate until his belly was round and full every day, sleeping whenever he wanted. Haha, his big belly bulged out even more, looking like a heavily pregnant woman from any angle.

"Pigsy, when are you going to give birth?" Situ Yangguang liked to playfully touch Pigsy's big belly whenever he had a spare moment. After spending these days together, Situ Yangguang had become very comfortable with everyone and enjoyed joking around.

"Didn't you just have one? How come you've had another one so soon?" Pigsy didn't mind, chuckling.

"Just had one? Where? Where?" Situ Yangguang asked.

"Far away, yet right before my eyes. Isn't my good son pestering me with questions right now?" Pigsy grinned. Situ Yangguang realized he'd been tricked, punched Pigsy in the stomach, and said, "Serves you right, you got what you deserved!" Then he ran away laughing.

Bajie feigned anger, saying, "You little rascal, you dare hit your grandpa Pig?" and then chased after him. Situ Yangguang quickly ran to Yueyue's side, threw himself into her arms, and said, "Second Sister, save me!"

Yueyue hugged him tightly, patting his back to comfort him, "Little Yangguang, don't be afraid. With your sister here, no one will dare to bully you." Then she laughed at Bajie, who had chased after them, and said, "Aren't you ashamed? A person as big as an elephant, bullying a toddler who has just learned to walk! If word gets out, people will laugh to death!"

"I bullied him? Did you see clearly? I was the one who was bullied by him. I'm the real victim!

You should hug me! Don't be fooled by my size; my heart is actually very fragile. Just hug me and give me some comfort!" Bajie opened his arms, making a hugging gesture.

"Help!" Yueyue shouted dramatically, hugging Situ Yangguang and running to the other side.

"Haha, you idiot, you're a piece of cat poop, hated by gods and ghosts alike. Even kids don't like playing with you. You should reflect on yourself sometime, and figure out how to improve your personal charm, you know?" Wukong said to Bajie with a laugh.

"What's wrong with my personal charm? There's nothing wrong with it!" Bajie spread his hands and said, "This little guy still likes to play with me. Seriously, he likes to play with me, not with you, believe it or not?"

"Really? I'm handsome and refined, absolutely lovable. Come here, Little Sunshine." Wukong said in a very gentle tone. Situ Sunshine nestled in Yueyue's arms, unmoved.

"Haha, I told you so, didn't I? Let's see if you still dare to talk so shamelessly about personal charm? You're speechless now, aren't you?" Bajie laughed so hard his face was distorted.

Wukong was slightly taken

aback. He smiled awkwardly and said, "Little Sunshine, come here. I'll perform some amazing magic tricks for you."

Situ Sunshine looked up from Yueyue's arms and said slowly, "I don't care about magic tricks unless you agree to one condition."

"Oh, you're already negotiating with me at such a young age? You've got potential, you've got potential! Tell me, what's your condition?" Wukong said with a smile.

"You agree first, then I'll tell you later. And this condition can only be discussed between you and me; no one else can know," Situ Yangguang said mysteriously.

"Okay, I agree!" Wukong readily agreed. He thought to himself, "What kind of conditions could a little kid like you have? You just want something fun or delicious, right?

" "Is it a deal?" Situ Yangguang asked seriously.

"It's a deal!" Wukong said with a smile, "A man of his word is a man of his word. Would I go back on my promise to a little kid like you?"

"Hehe, great! Come here and let me hug you." Situ Yangguang jumped down from Yueyue's arms, wobbling over to Wukong's side, and said, "Hug me, and after that, you'll have to do things for me. Don't go back on your word!" His small

body stood at Wukong's feet, like a dwarf in a land of giants, but his tone was quite mature and composed, with an invisible air of authority.

"You're so talkative for such a young age. You'll be in a nursing home by the time you're a few years older!" Wukong lifted him high with both hands and said, "Do you like watching magic tricks?"

"So-so. Those court entertainers have performed for me so many times, nothing new, it doesn't interest me anymore," Situ Yangguang replied, seemingly uninterested. Yueyue, however, was very excited and said happily, "Brother Sun, can you perform magic tricks? I love watching!"

"Okay, Yueyue, tell me, what do you want most right now?" Wukong asked. Yueyue tilted her head and thought for a moment, then said, "When I was little, I always fantasized about being a little princess with a magnificent palace. Brother Sun, can you conjure up a palace for me?"

"That's easy," Wukong laughed, pointing in front of them, "The palace is right here." In the blink of an eye, a delicate palace appeared before everyone. It wasn't large, only about the size of a table, but it was exquisitely built, magnificent, and quite imposing

.

"It's so beautiful! Is this real?" Yueyue and Situ Yu both leaned closer, exclaiming in amazement. Yueyue gently touched it with her delicate hand, so carefully that she was afraid the palace would fly away with the slightest force. Situ Yangguang was overjoyed, his excitement beyond description.

Wukong said smugly to Bajie, "Look, is your pig head more popular, or am I?"

"What is this? A bribe?" Bajie scoffed.

After the excitement subsided, Situ Yangguang stood up from Wukong's grasp, whispered a few words in Wukong's ear, and Wukong's previously smiling face turned into a wry smile.

It turned out that Situ Yangguang had whispered in his ear, "Sun Wukong, you can't go back on your promise to me. I want to see my Imperial Brother. Can you do that?"

Wukong fell into deep thought. This child's condition was really tricky. He wanted to see Tang Sanzang? It wasn't that easy. He was determined to see him, never leaving the Western Paradise. How could it be easy? Even if he went back and told him that Li Shimin had been reincarnated, would he believe it?

"Could I ask for something else? Or I could steal some peaches from the Queen Mother of the West

for you. Those peaches are so delicious, just thinking about them makes my mouth water," Wukong tempted him, licking his lips.

"No, I don't want anything, I just want you to keep your promise. You promised me beforehand that you wouldn't refuse whatever I asked," Situ Yangguang pouted.

"Well... although I did promise you, it's really difficult. I may be willing, but he might not be," Wukong said, troubled. Heh heh, tricked by a little kid, now he's in a dilemma. A man's word is his bond, and he can't back down rashly. He just hopes he'll change his mind. Even if he has to steal peaches from Heaven for him, he wouldn't hesitate. Wukong thought to himself.

Situ Yu walked over and asked curiously, "What's making Wukong frown like that? That's truly a once-in-a-lifetime event! Tell me about it, so I can broaden my horizons!"

"Nothing, nothing! Children's thoughts are strange and unpredictable; I just don't quite understand them yet," Wukong quickly covered up. Although they were familiar with each other, there were some things he couldn't let her know. If Situ Yu knew his true background, would she be so scared that she would avoid him?

"You girls don't need to know about our manly affairs," Situ Yangguang said in a mature tone.

"Heh, you really think you're a man? It's good enough if you don't wet the bed at night, let alone be a man!" Yueyue also came over, teasing him.

"Who wet the bed? Brother, let's not care what they say. Just tell me, can you do what I just said?" Situ Yangguang affectionately placed a small hand on Wukong's shoulder and asked.

"We'll see. I'll try my best," Wukong said helplessly.

Chapter 213 The Buddha and Wukong,

riding their somersault cloud, returned to the Thunderclap Temple on Mount Ling. There they saw the ancient Thunderclap Temple: its peak reaching the heavens, its roots connected to Mount Sumeru. Cleverly arranged peaks, strangely shaped rocks. Jade-like herbs and rare flowers bloomed beneath the cliffs, and fragrant orchids and purple fungus lined the winding paths. Celestial monkeys plucked fruit into the peach grove, like fire burning gold; white cranes perched on pine branches, like smoke holding jade. Pairs of colorful phoenixes and blue luan birds roamed. Pairs of colorful phoenixes cried out to the sun, auspicious for the world; pairs of blue luan birds danced in the wind, a rare sight in the world. They also saw the golden tiles stacked like mandarin ducks, and the bright, shimmering bricks paved with agate. East and west, rows of palaces and pavilions; south and north, countless precious towers and magnificent buildings. The Heavenly King Hall shone with rosy light, and the Dharma Protector Hall spewed purple flames. The pagoda was prominent, and the lotus flowers were fragrant. It was truly a place of breathtaking beauty, seemingly different from heaven; the clouds were leisurely, and the day seemed long. The mortal world had not yet reached this place, all ties were severed, and the Great Dharma Hall remained unblemished through countless eons.

Having lived in the mortal world for so long, Wukong suddenly returned to the sacred Buddhist land. His eyes lit up, his spirits lifted, and he felt the joy of revisiting a familiar place and the anticipation of seeing old friends again. Reaching the summit of Mount Ling, he saw that the pine forest and verdant cypress trees were filled with lay Buddhists. Seeing Wukong arrive, they all clasped their hands and said, "The Victorious Fighting Buddha is back? Where have you been all day?" Wukong chuckled. He had

spent almost a year in the mortal realm, yet his return to the Western Paradise had taken less than a day. It seemed he still had more than six days left of his seven-day vacation to enjoy. He said with a grin, "Hehe, I was bored, so I wandered around."

Upon reaching the gates of Leiyin Temple, the Four Heavenly Kings greeted him, saying, "Victorious Fighting Buddha, didn't you ask the Buddha for a seven-day vacation? Why are you back after less than a day? Life in the mortal realm must be tough!"

"It's alright. I came back to chat with the Buddha. I wonder if he has any free time?" Wukong asked.

"The Buddha should still be meditating in the Great Hall after morning prayers," the Four Heavenly Kings replied. Wukong exclaimed happily, "Great! I don't need to waste time listening to his ramblings; I'll just go straight to him." As he spoke, Wukong entered the Thunderclap Temple. He

went straight to the Great Hall, where the Buddha was meditating. Not far away, Wukong's former master, now the Buddha of Sandalwood Merit, was also quietly meditating. All the other Buddhas and Bodhisattvas had already finished their morning prayers and left. Wukong was greatly impressed. His master was indeed his master; he was always so

meticulous . It seemed that he would never leave before the Buddha. Ah, the Buddha of Sandalwood Merit was truly a model in the Buddhist world!

Wukong approached the Buddha, bowed deeply, and said, "Victorious Fighting Buddha greets the Buddha."

The Buddha opened his eyes and said to Wukong, "Not bad, not bad. After all these days in the mortal realm, you've indeed become more polite." Tang Sanzang also opened his eyes upon hearing this and said in surprise, "Victorious Fighting Buddha, why have you returned?" Wukong bowed to him and said, "Master, I missed you, so I came back to see you!"

"Missed me? Is that true?" Tang Sanzang asked, half-believing.

"How could it be false? During my time in the mortal realm, I worried about you every single moment. I was afraid that without my and Bajie's care, you might freeze or starve. I didn't have a single day of peace of mind, and I couldn't bear it any longer, so I came to find you," Wukong said emotionally. This speech was something he had planned all along the way; to coax Tang Sanzang back to the mortal realm, he first needed to make Tang Sanzang happy.

Sure enough, Tang Sanzang was moved by Wukong's words. The deep bond between master and disciple was evident; Wukong was indeed sentimental. Tang Sanzang

, also filled with emotion, said, "Wukong, how could I not miss you? Although you were only gone for a short day, I lost a sleepless night." As he spoke, tears welled in his eyes. The way he addressed him had unconsciously changed; he no longer called him the Victorious Fighting Buddha, but Wukong. This greatly surprised Wukong, as he hadn't heard his master call him so affectionately since arriving at the Thunderclap Temple on Mount Ling.

"Victorious Fighting Buddha, you and the Cleansing Altar Messenger have been in the mortal realm for almost a year now. What have you gained or learned?" the Buddha asked.

"Yes, yes, of course! I have many feelings about it, enough to write a moving book. It's just a pity my writing skills aren't very good. Perhaps I could have my master, the Buddha of Sandalwood Merit, write it for me. However, Pigsy and I are both dull-witted and need to spend a considerable amount of time immersing ourselves in the mortal world before we can make a qualitative leap in our thinking," Wukong said modestly.

"Victorious Fighting Buddha, you've returned just in time. I have something I need your help with," said the Buddha.

"Please speak, Buddha," Wukong said.

"I frequently receive reports from the immortals and holy monks of the mortal realm

, and I am well aware of the current state of affairs there. In the present-day Jambudvipa, the Tang Dynasty in the East has changed dynasties for many years, and it is now the Eastern Xia Kingdom. Although it is a powerful nation with prosperous people, not much worse than the Tang Dynasty, due to the decline of Buddhism, inner demons have arisen; there is more evil than good, and integrity is lacking; gambling, prostitution, drugs, and other evils are rampant, and the sea of desire is boundless; people are enriching themselves at the expense of the public, and power and money are being traded; if this continues, the people will suffer. I have recently observed that the Eastern Xia is shrouded in miasma, and there must be someone with profound Buddhist knowledge to descend to the mortal realm, propagate my Dharma, enlighten them, and save them from their suffering." The Buddha's long discourse left Wukong bewildered.

Chapter 214 A Worthwhile

Trip Wukong, being an impatient fellow, couldn't help but interrupt the Buddha's incessant ramblings, saying, "Then who is this person with profound Buddhist knowledge? Are you referring to me? To be honest, I'm just a temporary hanger-on, unfit for this responsibility."

"Of course not. I'm not senile. You monkey, you've spent all your energy practicing your skills with your weapons, how could you possibly have the mind to study Buddhism? This person with profound Buddhist knowledge is right before you," the Buddha said with a smile. Wukong chuckled and said, "I know your Buddhist teachings are very profound, Buddha. Does that mean you're going to personally descend to the mortal realm to enlighten all beings?"

"No, no. Although I very much want to personally descend to the mortal realm to save all beings, I have to preach and teach at Leiyin Temple every day, and I simply cannot spare the time. Therefore, this important task will be entrusted to the Buddha of Sandalwood Merit," the Buddha said, looking at Tang Sanzang with expectant eyes.

Tang Sanzang sat expressionlessly, not even opening his eyes upon hearing the Buddha's words. He gently opened his mouth and said, "Buddha, I am not a suitable candidate." "

Why? Could you explain

the reason ?" Tang Sanzang's answer surprised the Buddha. In his mind, Tang Sanzang had always been completely obedient to him, never uttering a word of dissent, and thus enjoyed his deep trust. In front of all the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, the Buddha had once told him, "I trust you to handle things," instantly elevating Tang Sanzang's status in the Buddhist realm to an unparalleled height. Unexpectedly, when he was most needed, Tang Sanzang's resolve wavered, which disappointed the Buddha somewhat.

"The reason I say I am not the right candidate can be summarized into ten reasons: First, I am your most loyal disciple. I cannot tolerate missing even one lesson from you, Buddha. I would regret it for the rest of my life. The path to the mortal realm is arduous and long, and I might miss dozens or hundreds of lessons, spending my life in regret. Second, my bond with Buddha is deep and profound. In my previous life, I was Buddha's second disciple, and in this life, I am the Buddha of Merit under Buddha's tutelage. It can be said that my relationship with Buddha is thicker than blood. How could I bear to leave Buddha even for a moment? Third, Buddhism is vast and profound, and

there is no end to learning. I have been studying diligently in Leiyin Temple all day long, but what I have learned is only a drop in the ocean, a mere trifle. How could I have time to descend to the mortal realm to save all sentient beings? Fourth... tenth..." Tang Sanzang fully demonstrated his eloquence from the Buddhist debate, finishing a long speech without even taking a breath.

Tang Sanzang presented ten reasons why he couldn't descend to the mortal realm, delivered in one breath, incredibly persuasive. He truly lived up to his reputation as the champion of Buddhist debates; his thinking was clear, his arguments logical and well-founded, occasionally punctuated by classic Buddhist sayings. The Buddha listened attentively, nodding frequently, saying, "Buddha of Sandalwood Merit, your unwavering loyalty is truly as clear as the sun and moon. However, while your reasons are very valid, after careful consideration, I believe you are still the most suitable candidate. I hope you will reconsider."

"Buddha, I..." Tang Sanzang glanced at the Buddha's displeased expression and swallowed the rest of his words.

Wukong, listening nearby, broke out in a cold sweat. Tang Sanzang's eloquent arguments were indeed extremely persuasive, even making the fearless Wukong break out in a cold sweat. It was no small matter. If he were to descend to the mortal realm, how could he endure his constant nagging? Wukong simply couldn't imagine it

. Remembering the promise he made to Li Shimin, Tang Sanzang had no choice but to steel himself and say to the Buddha, "Buddha, let's put your plans aside for now and have a proper talk, okay?"

"Alright, you two go and talk. I'll sit quietly for a while," the Buddha said calmly, closing his eyes.

Wukong pulled Tang Sanzang aside, shouting, "Master, we haven't had a proper chat in a long time. Let's go have a good talk."

"Wukong, if you're trying to persuade me to descend to the mortal realm like the Buddha, then you don't need to waste your breath. I won't listen. I'm perfectly fine staying at Leiyin Temple. Why would I want to go down to the mortal realm? Am I crazy? I still vividly remember the taste of hunger and thirst. I absolutely won't go crazy with you! I have ten reasons not to descend to the mortal realm. Don't worry if you didn't hear me clearly just now; I'll tell you slowly. First, I am a loyal disciple of the Buddha..." Tang Sanzang assumed a posture ready for a eloquent argument. Wukong quickly raised his hands in surrender, saying, "Master, please stop talking! If you keep going, someone will die! My head is already throbbing. Did Guanyin secretly put the headband back on me? Please

, please stop making a sound!"

Tang Sanzang chuckled and said, "As long as you shut your mouth and stop being a mouthpiece for Buddha, I don't want to waste my breath on you."

"Alright, alright, I'm scared. I'll shut my mouth. But before I do, there's something I need to tell you, otherwise I won't feel at ease," Wukong said with a bitter face. "Actually, I was forced to tell you. I had no choice but to. This is the only reason I traveled all the way back to Leiyin Temple."

"Didn't you always yearn for a carefree life in the mortal world? What could possibly make you come all this way back?" Tang Sanzang became interested. If it weren't for something special, Wukong wouldn't have returned to Leiyin Temple so early. Tang Sanzang knew Wukong's personality best. He usually went to great lengths to skip school; now that he had a seven-day holiday, why would he come back to walk right into a trap?

Wukong stole a glance at the Buddha, who stood with lowered eyes and brows, like a serene old monk, probably meditating intently. Wukong whispered mysteriously in Tang Sanzang's ear, "Don't be surprised, I saw Emperor Taizong of Tang in the mortal realm!"

Tang Sanzang was startled

and almost fell to the ground. Fortunately, he had learned some composure during his time in the Buddhist realm and managed to keep himself from collapsing. He forced himself to remain calm and asked, "Wukong, monks aren't allowed to lie. Is what you're saying true?"

"Truth! Absolutely!" Wukong patted his chest.

"Really? Where is my brother now?" Tang Sanzang couldn't contain his excitement and grabbed Wukong's hand, asking eagerly.

"He has been reincarnated as a little boy and adopted by a wealthy family!" Wukong briefly explained the situation of the young Emperor Taizong to Tang Sanzang.

"Ah, what a close call! Luckily I met you, otherwise my brother's fate would have been much more difficult!" Tang Sanzang secretly exclaimed, "Perhaps this is fate. Heaven allowed my brother to meet you, so I have the chance to see him again. Wukong, do you remember what I told you when you first descended to the mortal realm? I've always missed my brother Tang, and now, my longing can finally be relieved."

"You mean, you're willing to come down to the mortal realm with me to see your brother?" Wukong asked excitedly. "Of course! There's no time to lose, I must immediately ask the Buddha for leave." Tang Sanzang stood up and said. Wukong secretly breathed a sigh of relief, finally the trip wasn't in vain, and he hadn't broken his promise in front of the child.

Chapter 215 Meeting the Emperor Tang

Sanzang's usually wooden expression became much more vivid, showing joy and longing, completely different from the Tang Sanzang who usually kept his eyes down and his mind at ease. He strode to the Buddha, knelt down, and said, "Buddha, I have kept your admonition firmly in mind. After a struggle with my thoughts, I have decided to descend to the mortal realm. Saving all sentient beings is my original intention in taking refuge in Buddhism, and I will strive for it."

The Buddha had clearly heard the conversation between Wukong and Tang Sanzang and knew that Tang Sanzang volunteered to descend to the mortal realm because his sworn brother, Emperor Taizong of Tang, had been reincarnated. Tang Sanzang could not sever his brotherly bond and was therefore willing to face the hardships of the mortal world. The Buddha chuckled and said, "Buddha of Sandalwood Merit, your thoughts change quite quickly. Just now you were listing ten reasons why you wouldn't descend to the mortal realm, how come you've changed your mind so quickly?"

"Well... this is how it is," Tang Sanzang replied boldly, "I am deeply moved by the Buddha's call. Although there are unseen dangers involved, it is ultimately a great deed for the benefit of humanity. As a member of the Buddhist leadership team, I cannot

shirk this responsibility of saving all sentient beings. It is my duty to represent you, Buddha, to descend to the mortal realm to benefit humanity and spread the Dharma." Tang Sanzang, true to his reputation as a champion of Buddhist debates, was quick-witted. "Good," the Buddha said, "

truly worthy of being my second disciple, how magnanimous you are! Some say a prime minister's belly can hold a boat; I think your belly, Buddha of Sandalwood Merit, can not only hold a boat, it can practically hold a train!" The Buddha did not expose Tang Sanzang's true intentions and even praised him.

"Of course, of course, all those years of reciting Buddhist scriptures haven't been for nothing." Tang Sanzang was so pleased by the Buddha's praise that he was almost at a loss for words

. After a long while, he remembered his purpose and asked, "What does the Buddha think of my request?" "Haha, the request of the Sandalwood Merit Buddha is exactly what I wanted. Of course, I couldn't be happier to grant it. Here's what we'll do: since the Victorious Fighting Buddha and the Clean Altar Messenger have been in the mortal realm for some time, this time you should go down with them to complete the important task of saving all beings and eliminating the demonic obstacles in the human world, understand?" the Buddha asked him.

"Disciple understands. When can I return to the Western Paradise and ascend to the Pure Land again?" Tang Sanzang asked eagerly.

"Hmm

, return with the Victorious Fighting Buddha and the Clean Altar Messenger," the Buddha replied after a moment's thought.

"No way? They've only been gone for less than a day, and they still have six days of vacation left. Does that mean I'll have to spend six years in the mortal realm? I'm afraid I'll neglect my studies," Tang Sanzang said worriedly.

"A journey through the mortal realm is worth more than ten years of study. Six days will pass quickly, Sandalwood Merit Buddha, go in peace," Buddha advised. Go in peace? Wukong chuckled beside him. The Buddha's advice sounded more like that of someone about to die.

"Alright then, I'll go with the Victorious Fighting Buddha. If I don't go to the mortal realm, who will?" Tang Sanzang inwardly groaned, but his words remained firm. He had originally intended to visit Emperor Taizong briefly before returning to the Western Paradise, but unexpectedly, this journey would last six years. He was a hundred times unwilling, but having just been praised by Buddha, he couldn't let him look down on him, so his words carried a hint of bravado.

"Haha, excellent! Extend your right hand to me," Buddha commanded. Upon hearing this, Tang Sanzang extended his right hand. The Buddha grasped it and exclaimed, "Buddha of Sandalwood Merit, your hand is so white

, soft, and smooth, truly like a woman's delicate hand!"

Wukong nearly fainted. Did the Buddha also have homosexual tendencies?

"Buddha, please don't tease me," Tang Sanzang said, blushing deeply, utterly humiliated. The Buddha laughed heartily and said, "I'm just speaking frankly." Then, with his middle finger, he wrote the character "Buddha" in Tang Sanzang's palm. The character shone with golden light, fading away only after a long time.

"With Buddha in your heart, there is no calamity or hardship," the Buddha recited a Buddhist verse, clasping his hands together. After

bidding farewell to the Buddha, Wukong followed Tang Sanzang to his residence. As a high-ranking leader with a promising future in the Buddhist realm, Tang Sanzang's residence was naturally magnificent and spotless. Wukong disliked his somber nature and had never visited him before. Tang Sanzang, fearing Wukong's disturbance, had also never invited him to his home. So once inside, Wukong looked around curiously, praising, "Master, your dwelling is so big! It could easily house over a thousand people. It's much bigger than my shabby place! That old Buddha is so unfair! We're all Buddhas, why is there such a big difference?"

Tang Sanzang smiled faintly, not replying, but thinking to himself

, "Although we're all Buddhas, there are still differences in status. You, a monkey, have become a Buddha thanks to me. You're already lucky to have a place to live, yet you're still being picky. You're not a grateful monkey at all!" Looking around, he saw that he was living comfortably in the large house. He was about to leave after six years, and a feeling of reluctance welled up in his heart. He couldn't help but sigh.

"Master, why are you sighing?" Wukong asked. "Didn't you long to reunite with your sworn brother, Emperor Taizong of Tang?"

"Wukong, you don't understand. I sigh because the road ahead is long, and I don't know what hardships await me. Having spent so long in quiet meditation at Leiyin Temple, I've become completely attached to this peaceful place. There are too many demons and monsters in the mortal world; I'm worried and helpless. Can you feel it?" Tang Sanzang said with a pained expression.

"Of course I can feel it, because your slightly trembling body tells me of your fear. Master, don't be afraid. With me, the Great Sage Equal to Heaven, Sun Wukong, here, what demons and monsters can harm you? Don't worry, don't worry," Wukong reassured him.

“What you say is true, but thinking back to our journey to the West, although you protected me wholeheartedly, I was captured by demons and monsters several times, almost becoming their meal. Even the most meticulous plans can have flaws. We were in the open, while the demons and monsters lurked in the shadows. Even with your extraordinary abilities, you can't withstand their sneak attacks. I'm filled with anxiety,” Tang Sanzang said, troubled.

“Master, you are now an enlightened Buddha, possessing an indestructible body. Ordinary demons and monsters cannot harm you. Your fear of demons and monsters is merely a psychological barrier. Once you overcome it, there will be nothing to fear!” Wukong comforted him. “Hurry up and pack; I'll descend to the mortal realm with you immediately.”

“Immediately? It will take me an hour or two to pack!” Tang Sanzang said slowly.

“Then hurry! A day in heaven is a year on earth. My vacation is short, so please be quick,” Wukong urged. Tang Sanzang said sternly, "You monkey, you just can't shake this impatient temper! I've told you countless times that those who do great things must never be impatient; they must act calmly to accomplish things well. Do you know that if you

don't change your impatient temper, there are ten hidden dangers? The first danger is that because of your impatience, you don't properly consider the consequences. As the saying goes, 'Think thrice before you act'..."

Wukong almost fainted, hurriedly raising his hands weakly and saying, "Master, your earnest teachings are very necessary, but I'll have plenty of time to listen after we descend to the mortal realm. You should go pack your things first."

Tang Sanzang smiled and said, "Yes, yes, we'll have plenty of time to spend together, no rush! And Bajie, I haven't had a proper heart-to-heart talk with him for a while. After we go down, the three of us will have a good talk." With that, he went inside to pack with a smile on his face.

" Alas, my good days are over," Sun Wukong sighed sadly to himself. Why did he agree to that brat's unreasonable demands? Why did he go to the Western Paradise to walk right into the trap? Wukong was filled with remorse.

"Master, Master!" Sha Wujing's hoarse voice rang out from outside Tang Sanzang's door. With the call, Sha Wujing, with a full beard, strode in.

"Master! Master, where are you?" Sha Wujing asked loudly.

"Are you calling for my soul, shouting like that?" Wukong

laughed and scolded.

"Eldest brother? Hehe, eldest brother, you're really back?" Sha Wujing rushed over and hugged Wukong.

"What do you mean, 'real' or 'fake'? Would there be any 'real' or 'fake' about my return?" Wukong said.

"I heard from the Four Heavenly Kings that you came back to see the Buddha, and I thought they were joking, so I came straight to Master's to find you. Haha, I didn't expect it to be true!" Sha Wujing said happily, "I missed you and Second Brother so much after not seeing you for a day! How are things going in the mortal world?"

"Hehe, it's been fun, very interesting!" Wukong chuckled at Sha Wujing, "There are so many interesting things to say about the mortal world, I could talk about them for three days and three nights. I've only said a few words, and Master is already clamoring to come down to the mortal world with me. He's already packing his things inside!"

"Master is going down to the mortal world too?" Sha Wujing's eyes widened, as if he had heard the most astonishing thing in the world.

"Yes, you don't believe me? He'll be out in a bit." Wukong said with a smile.

"Eldest Brother, I want to go down to the mortal world too! You and Pigsy have both gone down, and now Master has gone down too. I'm all

alone in Leiyin Temple, and I don't even have anyone to talk to. I'm so bored!" Sha Wujing exclaimed. Wukong knew that Sha Wujing, because of his outspokenness, sometimes offended people without realizing it, so he wasn't very popular at Leiyin Temple. He usually chatted with Wukong or Bajie, and now that neither of them were around, he was quite bored. So he said to him, "If you want to go, try asking Buddha for leave and see if he'll grant it."

Upon hearing this, Sha Wujing dashed off in a flash.

Wow, he ran really fast! Wukong secretly admired him.

"Wukong, I vaguely heard Sha Wujing speaking just now. Was he coming to see me? Wukong, take a closer look at my attire." Tang Sanzang slowly walked out of the room. Wukong looked closely and saw Tang Sanzang wearing a gilded cassock, holding a staff, standing before him. His appearance was dignified, exuding authority without anger: His

imposing countenance was elegant and refined; his Buddhist robes fit him perfectly. A radiant glow filled the universe, colorful patterns seemed to condense the cosmos.

Bright pearls were arranged one above the other, and layers of gold thread ran through the front and back. The robe is bordered with brocade on all four sides, adorned with countless rare and exquisite embroideries.

Eight-treasure brocade flowers are bound with silken buttons, and gold rings

fasten the collar with velvet buckles. Buddhas and

celestial beings, large and small, are arranged in order of rank, and celestial bodies are distinguished by their status. The Venerable Xuanzang is truly fortunate to receive this garment. He resembles a living Arhat of the Western Paradise,

surpassing even the enlightened Buddha of the West. His staff jingles with nine rings, and his Vairocana hat reflects abundant wealth. Truly, this is the undeniable prophecy of a Buddhist disciple, surpassing even the Bodhi tree without falsehood.

"Good, good!" Wukong exclaimed twice, making Tang Sanzang beam with joy. He asked, "Wukong, do I really look good dressed like this?"

"It is good, of course, but isn't it a little too formal?" Wukong muttered softly.

"I'm going to meet the Emperor; how can I not dress formally?" Tang Sanzang said with a smile.

Chapter 216 So Naive and Innocent

Tang Sanzang looked around, feeling quite pleased with himself, and said with a grin, "Alright, this outfit will do. When my royal brother sees me dressed like this, he'll surely recall the touching scene of our parting in Chang'an. Wukong, wait a moment, I'll get ready and we're leaving." Wukong was stunned. He'd been inside for so long and hadn't even gotten ready yet! The old monk really loved dressing up! Who knew when he'd be out this time?

"Master, hurry up! A moment of spring night is worth a thousand pieces of gold!" Misusing words was Wukong's forte.

"Coming, coming. Wukong, I often teach you to be diligent and studious, but you never listen. Misusing words is bad. If word gets out, even if people don't laugh at you to your face, they'll still mock my poor teaching. What do you mean, 'a moment of spring night is worth a thousand pieces of gold'? We're not going down to the mortal realm for a wedding night..." Tang Sanzang rambled on in the room.

Wukong had no choice but to fall silent, not daring to urge him any further. Just as he was secretly anxious, Sha Wujing entered excitedly, followed by the Eight Heavenly Dragon Horses, their bodies covered in golden scales, their cheeks sprouting silver beards, exuding auspicious energy, and their four claws adorned with auspicious clouds. Sha Wujing strode in, laughing heartily, "Great news! Great news! Eldest brother, incredible news! The Buddha himself has spoken, and not only can I go down to the mortal realm with Master, but even the White Dragon Horse hasn't been left behind! Hahaha, hahaha,

this is truly gratifying!" "Eldest brother, Little White greets you!" The Eight Heavenly Dragon Horses transformed into a handsome young man, his pure white clothes adding to his dashing appearance.

"Haha, Little White's transformation almost made me unrecognizable. Good, good! Now all five of us are gathered together, it's bound to be lively!" Wukong said cheerfully.

"Eldest brother, where's Master? Why hasn't he shown up yet? Let's hurry, I can't wait any longer! Hehe, Second brother down there will never expect me to be going down too, will he? I'll give him a good scare!" Sha Wujing shouted at the top of his lungs.

"Shh, don't be so loud, you'll frighten Master. He's packing his things inside. Besides, don't be too happy yet. Although Buddha has allowed you to go, Master might not let you come along," Wukong poured cold water on him.

"Why? Although I, Sha Wujing, am not as skilled as my eldest brother, my demon-subduing staff is enough to make me Master's personal bodyguard

. There's no reason Master wouldn't let me go with him," Sha Wujing said loudly. Wukong chuckled and said, "Maybe Master doesn't want to be too conspicuous, doesn't want a bunch of people following him around. Besides, you have no sense of humor at all. You always hide on the sidelines when chatting and joking, like a wronged little wife. Maybe Master doesn't like being with you."

"Brother, you're really joking. It seems like you're the least popular one in Master's eyes! On the journey to the West, I wonder who was it that Master chased away twice?" Sha Wujing laughed, teasing him.

"It was me, it was me! Hehe, aren't you talking about me, Old Sun? And what happened? Without me, Old Sun, Master couldn't move an inch, could he?" Wukong said with a nonchalant smile.

"Wukong, who's here, talking and laughing outside? Is it Sha Wujing?" Tang Sanzang's voice came from inside the room.

"It's me, Master! Do you need me to come in and help?" Sha Wujing hurriedly replied.

"Sha Wujing, you've come at the right time. I'm already sweating profusely from packing. Come in and help me." Tang Sanzang called out, panting.

"Alright, I'm coming!" Sha Wujing agreed and went into the room, followed by Xiao Bai.

Wukong, having nothing else to do, followed as well.

"Xiao Bai's here too?" Tang Sanzang was used to Xiao Bai's appearance and wasn't surprised.

"Master, Sha Wujing and I are going down to the mortal realm with you. The Buddha has agreed," Xiao Bai said happily.

"Really? The Buddha would agree to both of you going down to the mortal realm?" Tang Sanzang was skeptical.

"It's true! Master, among all my fellow disciples, I'm the most honest. You can believe me. I personally asked the Buddha for leave," Sha Wujing said sincerely.

"Hmm, since it's Sha Wujing who said it, I can't help but believe it. However, I don't agree to you going with me!" Tang Sanzang said resolutely.

"Why? Master, I sincerely want to serve you! Please let me go down to the mortal realm with you," Sha Wujing pleaded.

“Actually, I’m not against you coming down to the mortal realm with me. Having you makes my life much easier; your thoughtfulness is a hundred times better than Wukong’s and Bajie’s. However, considering the thoughts of the many Buddhas and Bodhisattvas in Leiyin Temple, I have to stop you and Xiaobai from doing this,” Tang Sanzang said.

“I’m going down to the mortal realm with you, Master. What do I care what those Buddhas and Bodhisattvas

think? What they think doesn’t seem to concern me,” Sha Wujing said.

"That's because you haven't considered things carefully. I often teach you that you can't just look at the surface of things; you have to dig deeper. You know, although the Western Paradise seems peaceful on the surface, there are still discordant voices within. Ever since we, master and disciples, attained enlightenment and became Buddhas, some people in Leiyin Temple have suspected us of forming a small clique and having ulterior motives. That's why I've been intentionally distancing myself from you all. It's not good to be suspicious without avoiding suspicion. Now that the five of us are going down to the mortal realm together, what will the Buddha think, even if he doesn't say anything? What will the other Buddhas and Bodhisattvas think? We can't let such a small matter cause the Buddha and the other Buddhas and Bodhisattvas to harbor resentment towards us, master and disciples. Do you agree?" Tang Sanzang patiently persuaded him.

Sha Wujing was dumbfounded and speechless. Sha Wujing was already dull-witted, and after being nagged by Tang Sanzang for a few moments, he was completely disoriented and dizzy. He had a lot to say, but he couldn't utter a single word, only mechanically repeating, "This...this..." as if he had suddenly developed a stutter. He looked at Wukong with anxious eyes, his pitiful gaze

making Wukong unable to bear meeting his gaze.

The old monk's personality remained unchanged for five hundred years; he was always afraid of this and that, truly a nuisance. Wukong was anxious; if this continued, they wouldn't be able to set off tomorrow. He quickly said, "Master, my hands have been cramping lately, probably because of the change in environment. It's very difficult to carry even a pound or two. If you don't let Sha Wujing and Xiaobai come with you, then you'll have to carry your own luggage the whole way! Master, I'm sorry, I'm willing but unable!"

Upon hearing this, Tang Sanzang glanced at the four large bags of luggage already packed full in the room and said, "What can we do? My luggage is already packed in four large bags, and there's still a lot left unpacked. Am I, a weak scholar, supposed to carry it all down to the mortal realm? I'm afraid I'll be exhausted halfway there!"

"Master, don't worry, with me and Xiaobai here, there's no need to worry about any amount of luggage!" Sha Wujing quickly reassured him.

"Alright, alright, since that's how it is, you two can come down to the mortal realm with me. We can only explain things to Buddha and the other Buddhas and Bodhisattvas when we return. Sha Wujing and Bai Suzhen, aren't you two coming to help your master pack?" Tang Sanzang called out.

"Okay!

We're coming!" Sha Wujing and Bai Suzhen were very excited and quickly helped pack.

"Master, these packages are bulging, what treasures are in them?" Wukong asked casually, watching from the sidelines.

"One bag contains my change of clothes, and the rest are scriptures, including: 140 volumes of the Magadha Sutra, 10 volumes of the Lotus Sutra, 30 volumes of the Yoga Sutra, 170 volumes of the Ratnavali Sutra, 30 volumes of the Western Paradise Sutra, 110 volumes of the Sanghati Sutra, 1638 volumes of the Buddhist Miscellaneous Sutras, 50 volumes of the Awakening of Faith Sutra, 90 volumes of the Mahaprajnaparamita Sutra, 140 volumes of the Ratnavali Sutra, 56 volumes of the Benge Sutra, 10 volumes of the Vinaya Sutra, 14 volumes of the Mahamayuri Sutra, 10 volumes of the Vijnaptimatrata Sutra, and 10 volumes of the Abhidharma-samuccaya Sutra. That's three large bags already; three or four more and it'll be all packed!" Tang Sanzang said. "The rest of the scriptures are already memorized, and considering the long journey, it's alright not to bring them." Tang Sanzang looked reluctantly at the room full of scriptures.

"Master, this trip to the mortal realm is only for a short six years. Is it necessary to bring so many books? Besides, you've already read them thoroughly; aren't you tired of them?" Wukong asked.

Tang Sanzang said solemnly, "Buddhist teachings are profound and extensive. Even if I spent my entire life, I could not comprehend even a fraction of them. How can you say you find them tedious? Wukong, this is all because you are not studious. You get a headache just looking at books, don't you? Alas, how could I, a master of vast learning, have such an unlearned disciple? I have decided that after we descend to the mortal realm, I will devise a complete study plan for you. You must thoroughly study these scriptures within the limited time available. Wukong, can you do it?" Tang Sanzang looked at Wukong with expectant eyes.

"I...I want to throw all these books of yours into the East Sea!" Wukong finally couldn't bear it any longer and let out a desperate cry.

"Wukong, your madness has flared up again? Have confidence! Although your education isn't high, you're lucky to have me, a titan of Buddhism, as your teacher. What's lacking innate talent can be made up for later. I'm confident I can cultivate you into a Buddhist prodigy, enabling you to achieve great things. Alright, Wukong, calm down. Recite a passage from the Mahaparinirvana Sutra. How about I lead you?" Tang Sanzang said with concern.

Wukong felt like jumping off a building. Covering his ears, he weakly said, "Master

, please forgive me! Please? Sha Wujing, Xiaobai, I shouldn't have come back at all! Was I so foolish and naive?"

Sha Wujing looked at Wukong with infinite sympathy and said, "Elder Brother, you must be strong! You mustn't give up!"

Chapter 217 The Wordless Heavenly Book.

With everything packed and Wukong supervising the selection, Tang Sanzang's luggage only filled eight large bags, bulging and heavy. Sha Wujing used his demon-subduing staff as a carrying pole, hoisting the load onto his shoulder. He exclaimed, "Wow, this is really heavy! Master, are you really bringing your whole family to the mortal realm? So much luggage is bending my back. Luckily, I, Old Sha, have been diligently training my body since arriving at Leiyin Temple, keeping my physique largely unchanged. So carrying this heavy load doesn't feel too strenuous. If I were like my second brother, living a life of luxury and never lifting a finger, I'd be suffering terribly now."

"Don't worry, I'll help you when you get tired," the Eight Heavenly Dragon Horse comforted him.

Tang Sanzang clasped his hands and said, "Excellent, excellent! With you two here, my journey in the mortal realm will be worry-free. Wukong, now that our luggage is packed, let's not delay any longer. Let's go to the Great Buddha Hall to say goodbye to the Buddha and then set off." Wukong happily replied, "Okay, let's go quickly then."

Tang Sanzang led Wukong, Sha Wujing, and the White Dragon Horse to the Great Buddha Hall,

where they saw all three thousand Buddhas, five hundred Arhats, eight Vajras, and four Bodhisattvas. The Buddha sat upright, chanting sutras with his head bowed, while the others listened quietly. As Tang Sanzang and the others entered, the Buddha opened his eyes, looked at them, and said, "Buddha of Sandalwood Merit, is your luggage ready?"

"Thank you for your concern, Buddha. We've packed everything. We've come to bid farewell to the Buddha and everyone else before setting off for the Eastern Land," Tang Sanzang said.

"I have summoned three thousand Buddhas, five hundred Arhats, eight Vajras, and four Bodhisattvas to see you off. This time, your journey to the East carries a heavy responsibility, which cannot be taken lightly. After the Tang Dynasty, there was a period in the East where Buddhism flourished, and the country was peaceful and prosperous. Later, it gradually declined, and some morally depraved people disregarded Buddhism, did not pursue good karma, did not respect the three luminaries (sun, moon, and stars), and did not value the five grains; they were disloyal, unfilial, unjust, and unkind, deceiving themselves and others, using excessive force, and killing animals. They committed boundless sins." "The sins of those who commit heinous acts, overflowing with evil, lead to the calamities of hell, where they are eternally condemned to the netherworld, to suffer the torment of being pounded and ground, and transformed into animals. I have recently observed the phenomena of the mortal realm and discovered that it is burdened with countless karmic obstacles, inevitably leading to endless tribulations. Here I have a scroll of the Heart Sutra, which I recently wrote with profound insight

. Reading it can liberate one from suffering and exonerate one's transgressions. I have specially entrusted it to the Buddha of Sandalwood Merit to be passed on to those in the mortal realm with affinity, to proclaim my will." After the Buddha finished speaking, he raised his right hand, and a sutra slowly flew towards Tang Sanzang.

Tang Sanzang took it, bowed to the ground, and said, "Thank you for your grace, Buddha. I will certainly not fail your trust." He glanced at the sutra in his hand; the cover was blank. "Empty?" Tang Sanzang turned to the next page, which was also blank, without a single word.

"Buddha, this sutra has no words at all. Did you give me the wrong one?" Tang Sanzang asked cautiously.

"That's right. This wordless heavenly book is only passed down to a destined person in the mortal realm. Your task is to find this destined person, deliver the book to him, and let Buddhism flourish," said the Buddha.

A group of Buddhas and Bodhisattvas stepped forward to offer three poems of blessing—fortune, prosperity, and longevity—to Tang Sanzang on his journey to the East.

The blessing poem reads:

The auspicious star shines before the World Honored One, blessings extend far and wide. Boundless virtue endures as long as the earth, auspicious fortune connects with the heavens.

Fields of blessing are sown widely, flourishing year after year; the sea of blessings is deep and enduring, steadfast year after year. Blessings fill the universe, bestowing abundant blessings; boundless blessings increase, forever complete.

The poem on prosperity says

:

Prosperity as heavy as a mountain, the phoenix sings; prosperity brings peace and longevity. Prosperity increases by ten thousand bushels, the body is healthy; prosperity is enjoyed in abundance, the world is at peace.

Prosperity equal to the heavens, forever secure; prosperity and fame are like the sea, ever clear. Prosperity and grace continue far and wide, many admire; prosperity and rank are boundless, bringing glory to all nations.

The poem on longevity says:

The God of Longevity offers his radiance to the Tathagata; the realm of longevity shines brightly from this moment. Longevity fruits fill the plate, auspicious clouds gather; new longevity flowers are picked and placed on the lotus platform. The

poem on longevity is elegant and wondrous; the melody of longevity is melodious and skillful. May life be extended as long as the sun and moon; may longevity be as vast as mountains and seas, ever more carefree.

Tang Sanzang thanked the Buddha and the others. The Buddha wanted to offer some words of advice, but Wukong impatiently said, "Buddha, let's talk about this when we get back. It's getting late, we must take our leave!"

Knowing Wukong's impatience, the Buddha didn't scold him for his rudeness, but chuckled and said, "Victorious Fighting Buddha, you must diligently protect the Buddha of Sandalwood Merit on his journey to the East, and don't be lazy!"

"Of course! I, Old Sun, always put hardship before enjoyment! Don't worry, Buddha, if there are any difficulties, just ask Wukong!" Sun Wukong patted his chest and said.

Everyone smiled kindly.

"What are you all laughing at? Did I say something wrong?" Wukong was a little annoyed by the laughter.

"You're laughing at how you talk a good game but your actions aren't so honorable. You were once the Buddha of Sandalwood Merit's chief disciple; you should be at the forefront of this heavy responsibility of carrying the load and protecting the journey," Guanyin Bodhisattva said with a smile, looking at the heavy luggage on Sha Wujing's shoulders.

“Guanyin Bodhisattva, you’ve misunderstood me. At first, I insisted on carrying the luggage, but the Golden Arhat insisted on doing it himself. Seeing how much trouble he was causing, I had no choice but to give in! Right, Brother Sha?” Wukong turned to Sha Wujing and said.

“Yes, yes, I insisted on carrying the luggage,” Sha Wujing said with a simple, honest smile.

“Alas, poor thing. Golden Arhat, meeting Wukong, you’re destined to be one of the oppressed.” Guanyin Bodhisattva shook her head with a smile.
