Six Questions About Climax

For many, orgasm is a mysterious and embarrassing thing. Recently, WebMD published an article asking experts from Harvard Medical School to answer six of the most common questions about orgasm. Question 1: Is direct stimulation of the sexual organs the best way for men and women to achieve orgasm? Answer: No. Orgasm through vaginal stimulation is the most common, but least efficient, method. Orgasm requires multiple stimuli. Some people can achieve orgasm simply through caressing, nipple stimulation, or even through imagination. Question 2: Can men achieve orgasm only through ejaculation? Answer: No. Ejaculation and orgasm are two separate things, though they often occur simultaneously. Many men begin to ejaculate less frequently after age 40, and some older men don't ejaculate at all, but they can still experience orgasm. Question 3: Does the ability to experience orgasm decrease with age? Answer: No. The ability to experience orgasm remains constant regardless of age. Orgasm doesn't cease with age; it just takes more time. As men and women age, the sensation of orgasm may not be as intense as before, but this doesn't mean satisfaction is reduced. Question 4: Do people always make noises during orgasm? Answer: No. For men, some experience strong physiological reactions during orgasm, including loud shouts and vigorous physical movements, while others remain quiet. Women exhibit a variety of behaviors during orgasm; whether or not they make noise varies from person to person, but contractions of the uterus, vagina, and pelvis are common. Question 5: Are there different types of orgasms? Answer: Yes. Women can experience clitoral and vaginal orgasms, and can have multiple orgasms consecutively. Men under 30 can experience multiple orgasms after a short rest. After 30, through continuous practice and self-control, they can prolong the time it takes to reach orgasm, enjoying several smaller orgasms before the final climax.
