Episode 33, Chapter 8: War Breaks Out. 然而，越是這樣，魯甸國王卻裝作不明白兩國使者意圖似的，不但在許多宴會之上請他們共同出席，還大大咧咧向兩位使臣傳話，願同兩國都加強睦鄰友好關系，擺明了一副好好先生的模樣，就似不知道目前兩國正在交惡一般！計無咎那個是焦急啊，他知道魯甸是想在兩國之間，尋求到最大的利益，誰能夠滿足它的胃口，那麽它的天平就會向誰偏一些。
兩國都想爭取到魯甸，必然就會滿足魯甸的各種胃口，這是一種不能退卻的競爭，得持續到有一方承受不起而放棄。
然而，一開始明知道結果只能是讓魯甸漁翁得利，但是他們卻不得不互相競爭，以達到各自的目的。
計無咎是率先放棄的一方，他在將預計帶至魯甸的各種禮物用完之后，便不再向魯甸奉上任何東西，也不向魯甸承諾任何事情。
他開始冷靜下來，繼而「專攻」魯甸的太子旦，這本是他出使后制定的一種策略，然而此時，他只好打（原文爲‘大’疑似原文錯）亂一切計劃，尋求這個葉天龍重點交代的突破口了。
如此一來，帕里的使臣甚是開心，在他看來，法斯特使臣率先退出競爭，無疑勝利者便是自己。
的確，最初的幾天，魯甸國王態度一百八十度大轉彎，一方面極力冷落計無咎，一方面極力對帕里使臣示好，並且不斷放出言論，要支援如今出兵受阻的帕里大軍，更有甚者，在一次公開場合的談話當中，竟公然宣稱要向法斯特宣戰！

而在那段日子，帕里的使臣樂得簡直忘乎所以，整天進宮面見魯甸國王，希望盡快簽署結盟協定。
然而，每次卻都被魯甸國王熱情的招待遮掩了過去，直到突然有一天，魯甸國王提出如若帕里將臨近魯甸的五個州郡劃歸到魯甸版圖、雙方才能締結真正的同盟關系之時，帕里的使臣驚呆子了。
他終于認識到，魯甸的胃口實在太大，是很難在此種情況之下喂飽的。
現在已經都到了法斯特甘願放棄的這種程度，魯甸還要帕里割讓五個州郡的土地才肯結盟，只能說明一個?久不變的道理————得寸進尺！先是貴重禮品，再是貿易等優惠措施，現在竟然是割讓土地！誰知道這些也滿足了他們之后，又會有多少個割地、貿易等等獅子大開口的要求。
當這個消息傳回帕里國內，簡直是炸開子鍋。
加上有心人的強力渲染，帕里國內的主流意見是一片罵聲。
當然，有罵魯甸落並下石、得寸進尺的，也有更多是咒罵國家軟弱無能、搖尾乞憐的，還有少數人士更是激進宣稱，出使魯甸的使臣以及支援這種行動的人都他媽是漢奸、賣國賊、帕里的千古罪人！這些聲音傳到當政者的耳朵里，那可謂刺耳至極，惱怒至極。
廣大民衆是不管什麽政治、戰略的，他們只相信自己的耳朵，只相信親眼看到的東西。
縱然此時政府出面向民衆解釋跟魯甸的聯合有多少好處，恐怕憤怒的民衆也只會更是情緒激動而已。
無奈之下，當政者爲平息國內民衆的情緒，立刻召回魯甸的使臣，並向魯甸提出如此霸道的條款提出嚴正交涉和抗議！盡管這是做給民衆們看的，然而，行動一旦實施，魯甸看在眼里的，卻是帕里斷然拒絕這一要求，並且掀起了兩國外交上的巨大波瀾。
作爲回應，魯甸自然也向帕里提出抗議和交涉，稱對方此舉損害了魯甸愛好和平的良好形象，在大陸各國之間造成了十分惡劣的影響，並要求帕里就此事公開向魯甸道歉！兩國頓時陷入外交危機當中，而遍布兩國的有心人士自然不會放過這等大好時機，開始在兩國國內煽動民衆宣泄不滿，一時間兩國全體上下群情激奮，都要求本國政府要向對方不負責任的行爲采取相應措施。
兩國當政者之間雖然明知此次事件之中，大多起于誤會，然而如今他們就似被廣大民衆架在奔騰的馬車之上，想要停下來已是不能。
言論就似迅速彌漫的瘟疫，迅速在兩國國內蔓延，有心人士又不住地煽風點火，短時間內兩國外交層面的危機，迅速演變成爲軍事、經濟、文化等全方位的危機。
而恰在此時，魯甸國內出兵帕里的聲音又再次冒了出來，這次聲勢更加浩大，規模更是空前，不但先前主張此舉的許多將領出面公然回應，許多文臣也開始站到出兵帕里的這邊來。
直到這時，計無咎才算徹底松了口氣，只要趁此良機再加把力，自己的任務完成便指日可待了！而就在此時，他接到了葉天龍通過三重機構給自己的诏令！
然而，現在看到這份诏令，他的心里輕松多了，因爲以目前魯甸國內的形勢判斷，他幾乎可以回去交差了。
于是，他連夜趕擬了一份奏疏，經由秘密機構直達天聽。
而另一方面，爲了鞏固魯甸國內目前的成果，他還必須在太子旦身上繼續下功夫才是。
如若能夠將他盡快推向高位，這對葉天龍治下的法斯特帝國來講，將是一件十分有利的事情。
出發之前，他跟魯圖先都在葉天龍親自授意之下，各自帶了一件秘密禮物給兩國王子。
當然，魯圖先帶給英西帝國七王子高奇的禮物已經出場，而計無咎直到此時，還沒有將帶給太子旦的禮物拿出來呢！不過，接到葉天龍的诏令，他覺得是時候拿出來了。
這一晚，計無咎將奏疏轉交秘密機構之后，便又去了太子旦的府上。
經過這麽多天的接觸，太子旦已經對葉天龍派來的這個使臣十分熟絡了。
計無咎于國都的這些日子里，他俨然已經成爲太子旦府上的常客，經常有人看見他出入于太子府，許多人都以爲他是太子旦新近招募得一名幕僚呢。
「喲，計先生來了。」太子旦個很隨和的人，一見面便親自向計無咎迎了過來。
