Episode 1
Chapter One: My Journey to Education (Part 1)
Beyond the vast ocean, where sea and sky meet, lies a boundless and mysterious continent known as Central Continent. In the beginning, before the separation of Yin and Yang, humans, ghosts, dragons, and beasts coexisted peacefully. The humans who inhabited the central part of the continent first established a monarchical kingdom, named "Holy Dragon." Its pleasant climate and fertile land attracted immigrants from all directions, and through the combined efforts of many ethnic groups, a prosperous and powerful nation was created. Here, people lived in peace and contentment, officials performed their duties diligently, and scholarship and culture flourished—a golden age unseen for millennia.
In the 120th year of the Holy Dragon Kingdom's rule, one early summer day, two young lecherous men appeared in the city square of the eastern trading city, commenting on the newly erected statue of the Queen.
"Hey Xinran, something seems off about this statue!"
"What, Brother Mingyuan, are you not satisfied?"
"No, no, I mean... Your Majesty's breasts, aren't they a little too... too full?" As he spoke, the short, chubby young man named Mingyuan gestured in front of his chest. "My cousin is only sixteen years old, her breasts can't possibly be that big."
"Girls! Of course, the fuller the breasts, the better. I personally like them quite a bit—does Brother Mingyuan not like that?" the boy named Xinran asked in return.
“I personally quite like your statue, but my cousin—I mean Her Majesty the Queen—may not like it.”
“It’s okay, as long as we like it,” Xinran comforted him with a smile. “Your cousin is far away in the capital, and she may never come to Goode in her lifetime. Even if she does see this statue in ten or eight years, she will be a mature woman by then, and her breasts will have developed to this size.”
The two people who were discussing the Queen's breasts in public were both prominent figures in the trading city.
The short, chubby boy was named Long Mingyuan, the current queen's cousin. At the young age of twenty, he was appointed governor of the wealthiest city in the country, a remarkable achievement for a young man. Although he was the lord of a city, Long Mingyuan appeared to be a follower in front of his good friend Su Xinran.
People who meet Su Xinran for the first time are often captivated by his handsome appearance and elegant demeanor, and may even be unable to tell whether he is a man or a woman.
Especially now, as he crosses his arms and gazes up at the floating clouds in the sky, his fair and jade-like face is more perfect than a statue sculpted from gemstones. His jet-black hair is not deliberately combed, yet it is free and easy without appearing messy. When the wind blows his bangs, his beautiful forehead shines like a mirror.
His bright eyes, shimmering in the sunlight, radiated a captivating and mysterious light, making one involuntarily wonder what was on his mind, accompanied by a touch of melancholy.
However, this close-up profile didn't last long. Su Xinran was a half-human, half-vampire hybrid. Although she could live in the daytime, she couldn't endure the intense sunlight for long periods.
“Brother Mingyuan, let’s sit down and enjoy the cool air! I’m about to faint…” He lowered his head, lazily walked into the shade of the tree, sat down on the ground, picked up a pebble and started drawing something on the ground in a daze. When he was lost in thought, his expression was more like that of a sweet young girl, her bright white clothes standing out among the green trees, making her appear even more ethereal and otherworldly.
Such a beautiful and elegant person, like a fairy descended from heaven, who would have thought that he would be the absurd ghost known as the "nightmare of the trading city"? If anyone doesn't believe it, just go and inquire in the streets and alleys. The misdeeds of the young master of the Su family could be told for three days and three nights without stopping.
Su Xinran's evil isn't the kind that bullies men and women; his terrifying aspect lies in his endless pranks and his fearless personality. He's more like a mischievous child who's both funny and unruly than a villain who's universally resented.
Before Su Xinran was born, his parents were already famous throughout the world.
The ancestors of the Su family were not native to Central Continent. They immigrated from the Kingdom of Silk, thousands of miles across the ocean, at the end of the Flood Era. They started by trading real estate and for centuries remained one of the wealthiest families in the eastern part of the empire. Many similar immigrant families exist in Central Continent. Immigrants from the Kingdom of Silk alone make up a quarter of the country's total population.
Su Xinran's father, Su Jiusi, graduated from the Holy Dragon Academy, the premier academic institution in the Holy Kingdom, with degrees in diplomacy, military affairs, and finance. He was hailed as a genius rarely seen in a millennium and a leading figure among young talents. After completing his studies, Su Jiusi took over the family business from his father. While maintaining the family business, he also engaged in the arms trade, making a fortune from war and quickly becoming one of the wealthiest men in the Holy Kingdom.
Su Jiusi entered officialdom through commerce, serving successively as a diplomat, finance minister, principal of the National Holy Dragon Academy, and governor of a trading city in the Holy Dragon Kingdom. He resigned at the age of fifty to retire and enjoy his later years. Long Mingyuan, the newly appointed governor, was his student at the Holy Dragon Academy. Despite being a member of the royal family, Long Mingyuan dared not raise his head or speak in front of his teacher. Because of this relationship, Long Mingyuan and Su Xinran had addressed each other as brothers since childhood.
Su Xinran's mother had an even greater reputation; she was the last princess of the Gusaran royal family, the vampire kingdom of the Eastern Dark Continent. Eighteen years ago, King Gusaran died suddenly, and the royal family fell apart. Many powerful earls and dukes declared themselves kings, claiming to be Gusaran's successors. As the most legitimate heir, Su Xinran's mother naturally possessed the most formidable power.
The Holy Dragon Kingdom, citing a succession dispute within the ancient Salan royal family, sent troops to invade. This was met with fierce resistance from the vampire tribes. Humans were already far weaker than vampires, and the hasty deployment further exacerbated the situation, resulting in a very unfavorable outcome. Instead of gaining any advantage, the vampires seized many towns in the north, turning them all into ancient Salan territory. Only out of fear of the kingdom's guardian deity, "Holy Dragon Othello," did the vampires dare not continue their invasion.
The defeat on the battlefield forced the Holy Kingdom to seek progress through diplomacy. So it sent Su Jiusi, then a diplomat, to the royal family of Gusaran. Ostensibly, he was there to support the last princess Cecilia Gusaran in unifying the whole country, but in reality, he was observing the situation to see if this heroine could really make a difference.
Cecilia proved to be politically inept, not only refusing to discuss state affairs but also engaging in a romance with a diplomat. Later, she resolutely relinquished her right to the royal succession and married Su Jiusi. Regardless of their initial motives, their union undoubtedly brought immense political benefits to the Holy Kingdom. The Kingdom of Gusalan, as part of the princess's dowry, became a province of the Holy Kingdom. Although opposition forces still existed, at least nominally, a major threat on the eastern border had been eliminated.
Cecilia did not return to her homeland with her husband after their marriage, but instead remained in the mainland as the first governor of the Ancient Salan Province. She only visited the Su family mansion in the trading city each winter to spend a few months with her husband. This separation was partly due to the fact that vampires cannot leave the Dark Continent to live in the sunlight, and partly a hint at Su Jiusi's clever arrangement. As long as his beloved wife remained in power in the Ancient Salan Province, the Su family's position in the Holy Kingdom would not be shaken. As for the women, Su Jiusi already had one wife and three concubines; when he missed new lovers, he had his old flames to keep him company, so he didn't feel particularly lonely.
Cecilia was happy to obey her husband's arrangements. She was feeling guilty and dared not meet her husband until her son was born, at which point she finally felt relieved.
It turns out that Su Xinran was not Cecilia's child with Su Jiusi. As for who his biological father was, even his mother probably didn't know. Vampires have never cared much about relationships between men and women. Cecilia had been involved with countless men before marriage, so who knows who fathered Su Xinran? It wasn't until she discovered she was pregnant that she chose Su Jiusi, the most suitable man among all the men, and married him off.
The vampire's romantic escapades came to an end with childbirth. Since giving birth to her precious son, Cecilia has been a devoted wife and mother. However, no matter how hard she tries, she can't figure out who the child's biological father is.

"Actually, there's something else," Xinran smiled mysteriously, "I don't believe my sister can become the Dharma King, so I test her spiritual practice every day."
"The Dharma King?!" Old Master Su was stunned by these two words. He had never placed high hopes on his daughter before, but now that he heard that his daughter had the potential to become the supreme leader of the Kuso Holy Church, he was overjoyed.
"Hmm, if Hongxiu really has a chance to become a Dharma King... it seems I must make some moves."
"Dad, don't rush to give money to those charlatans. I don't think my sister will become the Dharma King."
"Nonsense! In what way does your sister not qualify her to be the Dharma King?"
"She lacks willpower and can't withstand the test!"
"How did you know that?" Old Su was so focused on spending money to bribe the cardinals of the French Royal Court to pave the way for his daughter that he didn't give his son's warning a second thought.
"Sigh, if you don't believe me, I won't say anything. Anyway, my sister is no good. She couldn't even pass my test; going to the Dharma King's Hall would just be a pointless embarrassment."
"You little rascal, you know nothing about religious matters, so stop interrupting and spouting nonsense."
"Hmph, I don't understand religious matters, but I do know that the Dharma King, regardless of gender, must remain chaste for life and cannot marry—"
"Your sister never intended to get married."
"Sigh, Father, my sister wouldn't like being the Dharma King; she wouldn't be happy that way."
"I have my own plans, what do you know!"
That evening, Master Su invited his first wife, Madam Song, and Su Hongxiu to his study to discuss his daughter's future. As expected, his daughter was reluctant to go to the Dharma King's Hall. Master Su earnestly advised her, explaining that the old Dharma King had just passed away, and if they didn't seize the opportunity, someone else would beat them to it, which would be detrimental to the family's future. Su Hongxiu remained unwilling and appeared dejected, as if she had suffered a defeat. During her time cultivating in the temple, she had been listed as one of the seven most beautiful women in Central Continent by gossipy individuals and given the nickname "Ice Rose," demonstrating her consistently cold and composed demeanor. However, not long after returning home, she seemed like a completely different person.
The birth mother, Madam Song, sensed something was amiss and asked if she had found someone she loved. Master Su quickly replied, "If she has found someone, that's fine too. Giving up the position of Dharma King and bringing in a son-in-law to inherit the family business wouldn't be bad either." He had given up hope on his son.
Su Hongxiu hesitated for a long time before shaking her head and saying, "My daughter has no one in mind."
"Then you should go to the Dharma King's Hall. Whether you succeed or not, it doesn't matter."
"Father, you make the decision. Your daughter will obey."
And so, Su Hongxiu returned to the Holy Capital the next day to meet with the four cardinal bishops, accompanied by Master Su.
After some negotiation and investigation, coupled with Master Su's connections and financial offensive, Miss Hongxiu reluctantly ascended the throne of the Dharma King. This time, even Her Majesty the Holy Queen had to kneel before her to repent.
Master Su returned home triumphantly. He had started with four carriages, but by the time he arrived, there were forty. They were laden with gifts from priests and bishops from all over. Even the priest who had previously dismissed Xinran after reporting her had come to visit, offering to become Xinran's theology tutor. However, Master Su was no longer the same man; he had a daughter who was now the King of France. Why would he need to cultivate another charlatan? He flatly declined.
Xinran was not happy at all to learn that her sister had become the Dharma King. Partly it was because they might never see each other again, but there was a deeper worry in her heart. Master Su spoke highly of the four cardinal ministers of the Dharma King's court, praising their high moral character, widespread respect, and profound knowledge. Xinran, however, dismissed them with disdain, saying, "Those people are all fucking good-for-nothings." He had ample reason to say this, but dared not say it outright, otherwise he feared for his life.
His sister became the Dharma King, and Xinran was saddened for a while. However, he quickly cheered up again. Master Su visited the Holy Capital and was in high spirits. Compared to the trading city, he increasingly felt that this place was too small to cultivate truly talented people. He planned to send his son to study in the Holy Capital. He had been the administrative principal of the Holy Dragon Academy, the nation's highest institution of learning, and many of his former subordinates and students held positions of power and taught there; securing a place for his son would be a piece of cake. The only thing that troubled him was the question of what to study. He increasingly realized that Xinran was like a quagmire; no matter what kind of fresh water you poured in, what came out was still mud. This precious son wasn't incompetent; he had gone mad, specializing in evil arts.
When the time came, he had no choice but to consult Xinran. Without hesitation, Xinran said, "The murals in the Dharma King's Hall are beautiful and magnificent. I want to go there to observe and learn how to paint them." In truth, his real intention was simply to meet with his sister.
Old Master Su didn't care about all that. If his son wanted to learn mural painting, then so be it. Besides, his sister could take care of him. So he confidently sent his son to the Dharma King's Hall. Following his daughter, another young man from the Su family entered "the most sacred place on earth."
As for what Xinran did in the most sacred place, it was simply appalling.
Three months later, this lively young master was returned to the Dharma King's Hall untouched. The reason given was that he was too childish and unsuitable for the serious environment of the Dharma King's Hall. This was, of course, just a polite remark. In fact, according to Hongxiu's letter home, Master Su had already learned that his son had caused a great deal of trouble and almost implicated his sister. Helpless, he had no choice but to send him home.
On the very night his son returned home, Master Su prepared bamboo sticks and a leather whip, intending to give him a severe beating. He'd tolerated his son's misbehavior at home, but his outrageous behavior at the Dharma King's Hall, embarrassing his sister, was utterly lawless and deserved punishment!
