他悄悄的走到窗前，只见一个穿了捕快衣服、戴上帽的人，背着窗，正在摆饭桌。
「大老爷叫你送饭来？」郭康边说登推开窗，踪身而入。
「大老爷没有吩咐，是我买菜给你烧的！」衙差转过头来，赫然是吴若兰！
郭康呆了呆，忍不住笑起来：「妳原来穿了我的衣服…哈…大了个码…怪不得！」
「你怕人知屋内有个女的嘛…」吴若兰发娇嗔﹕「不作这么打扮，怎去市场？怎混出衙门？」
郭康点了点头，他坐了下来，看看桌上是两菜一汤。
菜是醋黄鱼、五香骨，都很惹味！郭康坐了下来，吃了个干净。
吴若兰看着他的吃相，很满足。

「这亦可能是一对夫妇做的！」郭康提出他的见解：「做丈夫的奸杀了一个女的，跟着做妻子的亦奸杀一个男的，这女的为了示威，特意拣衙门的衙差来杀！
「不！」吴若兰睁大眼：「假如男的在外边拈花惹草，我干脆杀了这淫汉，何必将怒气祸及无辜！
她娇嗔的时候，来得特别美！郭康忍不住拉了她过来，就亲了她一口，跟着手也不规矩起来…

那捕快笑了笑：「冒力副总捕头死了，郭大人亦担忧此地不安全？」
郭康整个下午都在外边，他换了套便服，在南盛坊视察，果然就给他看到一对年青的卖药男女。
那对男女挂了幅旗，上边绣着『马』字。
卖药生意不算好，而那个男的，一面倦容，而女的呢？一面骚姣相。
因为她够骚，所以吸引到不少男的来买药。
郭康站在一角，一直看到天黑，这对姓马的男女收工，他们不是投店，而是租了间破屋居住。
这时，几个捕快亦到了。
「今晚就钉住他们！」郭康等吃了点东西，远远的围着破屋。

「你们继续盯住那屋，我到上面去看看！」郭康一跃，上了瓦面，三跳两弹，就到了破屋上面。
姓马的男女吃完饭，那女的似乎要『娱乐』。
「这狗男女不是兄妹！」郭康伏在瓦面上，从隙中往下望。
那个又姣又骚女人，只穿若胸兜，正追着那个倦容满面的青年：「你不来，我又去找别个男人啦！」

「不要伤她！」马姓青年大叫：「有话好说！」
「你放下武器！」郭康吩咐：「讲出这两天你们的行踪！」
「我是马日峰！」青年不亢不卑。「江湖上的杀手夫妇？」
郭康呆了呆：「你们为钱杀人，干嘛卖起药来？」
马日峰嘆了口气：「我们是受人所託，那人最近…死了个妾侍，他怀疑是仇家之子所杀！
「是不是王礼廉？」郭康大喝。
「通常，我不会讲僱主名称，」马日峰淡淡的：「顾主知道我老婆够骚够姣，所以我四出卖药，希望引那奸杀犯来…」
郭康放开了马日峰的老婆。
他在江湖上行走，『杀手夫妇』的作风他不会不知。
有些人的名誉、行为是一辈子不改的。
「你们退下！」郭康吩咐手下：「我有事和马先生谈。」
「你们在兇案出事后，就从北方赶到，这…不可能吧！」郭康望着马日峰。
「不！我夫妇近年已移居雨花台，那是在金陵外围！」马日峰仍是淡淡定定。
「你僱主出多少钱？」郭康又问。
「杀了採花恶贼，金银各百两！」马日峰面色突然一变。
远处响起马蹄声：「不好了！衙门失火，烧的是知府大人住的地方！」那是郭康的手下。
「又是衙门？」郭康失声。
马日峰摇了摇头：「大人还不赶回去看？这次，我俩目的是一样的，假如有採花贼消息，我一定向郭大侠提供！」
「好！」郭康推门而出，便跃上马背：「快回衙门！」
郭康赶回衙门，只见伍知府的官邸烧了一半。
伍伯棠很悲伤：「小女及内子，都给兇徒放火烧死了…哎…」他亦受了伤，面上、手腕还在淌血：「是一男一女行兇，老夫勉强与他们过了百来招…唉…终于不敌…给他们走了！」
郭康望了伍伯棠一眼，这时才留意到他太阳穴鼓起、显然是武功不弱﹗
「这知府刚赴任不久，怎会有仇家呢？」郭康很诧异：「大人！那么利害的杀手…是不是…」
伍伯棠嘆了口气：「老夫在云南时，确宜是得罪了一些土豪，才申请调任，想不到他们竟追踪到金陵来了…唉…」
「大人…那令媛与夫人…」
郭康抢到坍掉的瓦砾前：「…尸首找出来没有？」

这时，部署在衙门的捕快巳追兇赶回来了！
「追了十几里，影也瞧不见！」
「兇手快得很！咱们跟也跟不上！」
郭康捉着一个较得力的捕快：「究竟是怎么回事？」
「捕头你走后，我们四周布防，突然，大人府邸那边有兵刃声，跟着就起火！」
那捕快揩着汗：「我们马上赶过去，就见知府大人受了伤，他吩咐我们追兇手，我们几个兄弟就赶出去…但…对方走得很快，连影也看不见！」
「这么快的轻功？」郭康摇了摇头：「你们搜过可疑的民居没有？」
「当然有，要不是，我们一早就回来了！」
那捕快埋怨：「差点还与守门城的兵哥吵起来呢！」
郭康指挥众人挖瓦砾，果然有两具焦黑的女尸，俱已不成人形。

郭康点了点头：「我也是这么想，今晚，我就暗中盯着伍伯棠！」
吴若兰呶了呶嘴：「我今晚陪你一块去！」
郭康摇了摇头：「不！妳武功还差了一点，碰见血蝴蝶，恐怕打不过他们，妳还是待在家！」
吴若兰只觉心头一暖，她将头伏在他胸膛上：「你也小心点，公门饭不好吃！」
郭康搂着她睡了两个时辰，到傍晚才穿扎妥当，换上夜行衣服。
他特别带了兵器，是根三节棍，插在腰带上。

郭康跃上瓦面，走到伍伯棠所住的屋，细看动静。
他用倒挂金钩，双足勾着屋檐，望进室内。
伍伯棠坐在书桌前，似乎亦是满怀心事。
他面前放若一本《法华经》，他他的目光却不是停留在书上。
郭康看一片刻，身子支撑不住，就倒跃瓦面。他伏了半个时辰，一点动静也没有。
但，他还是耐心的等。
做捕头的，就是要耐心…二更了…
伍伯棠突然吹熄蜡烛，大声的喊了两句「那鲁华、那鲁华！」
「这不是汉语，」郭康愕了愕：「是不是佛经？」
他将面伏在瓦面上，从裂缝上望下去，伍知府似乎伏倒在书桌上睡了。
郭康望着星天，有点累，就在这时，有人跃上瓦面。
郭康是伏在一角，跃上瓦面的人没有留意到，根本亦没有人怀疑，竟然有人会在屋顶上捱了两周时辰的风，而动也不动的！
那黑影是穿着夜行衣，身型高大，他轻功很好，直向城北走去！
郭康远远的跟在后面。
追了半个时辰，郭康发觉黑衣人是去王礼廉的府邸！
从背影看，郭康亦发觉：黑衣人是伍伯棠！
伍知府这么夜去王礼廉家干吗？郭康静静的跟着，他知道最后都会有答案的！
果然，黑衣人是到王家了！
但，接下来的举动又令郭康摸不若头恼！
黑衣人到王家后，并不是穿墙而入，反而是除下头巾，左右望了望，见大街上没有人，就去叩王宅大门！
郭康听到伍伯棠的声音：「来见你家老爷的！」
黑衣人果然是伍伯棠！

郭康掠上屋顶，从高处望下去，王礼廉家内的护院武师一个也不少。
郭康正想爬前时，突然听到有人喊：「捉兇手！捉刺客！」

几个护院武师的刀枪刺了过来，郭康想也不想，一招『大鹏展翅』，三节混縴出，挡开兵器！
「妳又闯祸了，还不跟我一起走！」他捉住吴若兰的腰带。
「捉血蝴蝶哪！」远处响起锣声，燃亮的灯笼越来越多。
郭康提着吴若兰：「跳！」两人踪身就跃上瓦面。
「沙、沙！」声响，是那些武师掷出飞标、飞刀等暗器，直射郭康两人的背嵴。
郭康将吴若兰一扔，扔出两丈远，跟着舞动三节棍，一招『移山倒海』将暗器击纷纷落！
在武师跳上瓦面追来时，郭康已掠出两丈外，跟随在吴若兰身后：
「妳，有觉不睡，误了我的大事！」

郭康和吴若兰回到所住小屋内！
他狠狠的抓着吴若兰，就在她屁股上打了七、八记：「今晚要不是我适巧到王家，妳…妳一定被人捉了！」
吴若兰呶着小嘴：「你手脚放干净点，不要老是打我屁股！」
郭康冷笑﹕「看来，我是给妳利用透了，白天，妳藏身在我这里，王家的人想不到妳躺在衙门内，晚上，妳老是找机会做杀手，又不知自己武功低！」
吴若兰的眼一红：「好，郭康，我走，我再也不靠你！」
她抓起佩剑就想沖出门口，但郭康的手更快，一扣就扣着她的手腕：「三更夜半，妳…妳要走…明天才走！」

「我不知，只见有多个婢女捧着饭菜进房！」吴若兰蹙了蹙眉。
「有没有送酒进房？」郭康抢着问。

「你发现了什么？」吴若兰急问。郭康还未回答，门外突然响起『捉血蝴蝶』的唿喊，来的人有数十众！
「郭康，枉你是捕头，想不到竟做出伤天害理的勾当！」门外响起伍伯棠的声音。
郭康用被将吴若兰一盖：「妳不要作声，待我出去一看！」
他拉开大门，就见全城捕快，还有兵丁，在伍知府带领下，包围着他的小屋。
伍伯棠面色铁青：「郭康，想不到你知法犯法，竟是杀人採花的狂贼血蝴蝶！」
「大人，这话怎说？」郭康分辩：「假如诬我是血蝴蝶，也要有证据！」
「哼！血蝴蝶是一男一女，你房内不是窝藏个女的吗？她今晚还想再到王礼廉家犯案！」
郭康呆了呆。
伍伯棠得势不铙人：「王家上下就十几个武师见过那女血蝴蝶的样貌，郭康，你交不交人受绑？」
郭康望着众捕快：「各位兄弟，郭某在金陵做捕头三年，一向托赖，假如在下是血蝴蝶，为什么早不做案，迟不做案呢？」

「马车行得慢，应该可以追上的！」
郭康的马奔出城，在官道上走了一个时辰，树林内突然走出两女一男来。
那是杀手马日峰。
女的是美芳，及绑手塞口的吴若兰。
「郭捕头！」马日峰似乎料到郭康追来，他冷冷的：「昨晚不是我两夫妇挖开墙角的砖，在千钧一发救了你的情侣，郭捕头恐怕身败名裂了！
郭康滚下马来：「马兄，你是…」

而妖媚骚姣的美芳亦亮出兵刃，那是一把铁尺！

他扶着美芳就想走。

郭康朗声：「王祖廉带若妻妾离城，可能半途会遇上血蝴蝶，姓马的，不若你我一齐追去，找着王礼廉一问离南京原委，就知端详！」
马日峰想了想：「假如你那女的是血蝴蝶，那王尚书…岂不是更危险…」
他始终不信吴若兰。
郭康嘆了口气：「在下怀疑…金陵知府伍伯棠…是与血蝴蝶有关系！」
跟着顿了顿说出疑点：
「第一，是他到任不久，就有这採花血案！」
「第二，是有仇家杀他妻女！」
「第三，伍伯棠与王礼廉一定有什么关系，才令到王礼廉离家出走。」
