As far back as Chu Feng could remember, he had always lived in that cold and gloomy orphanage.
Every day, staring silently at the gray ceiling and mottled walls, he remained silent. No one knew why he was like this, why he always liked to stare blankly in one direction with his eyes that seemed to see right through people. He can be considered to have friends now, can't he? The first time he showed a smile was because he had a friend who wouldn't throw stones at him or call him a mute.
This child, who couldn't act cute or speak, had somehow learned to read on his own and had read through all the books in the orphanage's collection.
Of course, this didn't attract much attention. When snacks were served, the teacher often forgot to call Chu Feng's name. In the large library, Chu Feng would often be forgotten there all day. Sometimes, when he was so hungry he had a stomachache, he would go to the kitchen to get a cold bun to eat before going back to find his "book friends." He only had to leave when it was time for roll call at night.
The next day, he got up early again and went to his friend's place to report for duty...
