I'm 36, a returned overseas student,
and have been running my own business in China for 5 years. I'm married but childless by choice. My wife is a classmate from my time studying abroad; we returned together and she teaches at a university. What I want to tell you today has almost driven me crazy. My wife is having an affair. And it's been going on for over 5 years, starting right after we returned to China.
My distress isn't because of her infidelity. Actually, we're both quite open-minded; we've had relationships both domestically and internationally. But these were all purely for sex, nothing more. I never expected her to develop feelings for someone else and even want a divorce. Another reason I can't accept it is that the man is a supervisor in her department, and his mother is an old man nearing 60, whose penis is almost gone, and I don't even know if he can get an erection.
We've had several serious talks about it, but they all ended badly. She seems to be bewitched and won't listen to anything.
