Did I do the right thing?

The day before the Qingming Festival holiday, my wife texted me at noon saying that her company leaders and several middle managers had arranged to have dinner with some major clients that evening, and that they would be drinking. She asked me to be ready to pick her up if I was free. This happens several times a year, and my wife always gets drunk. Firstly, as a middle manager, she's bound to be toasted, and she's expected to offer toasts herself and shield her superiors from further drinks. She's bold but not heavy drinker. Secondly, she doesn't like calling a designated driver, saying she's afraid of encountering a lecherous driver who might take advantage of her while she's drunk. Around 11 o'clock, my wife texted me saying room 1105 was ready and I should come right up because she couldn't walk any further. So I went up to the hotel. When I got to the 11th floor, I found the soundproofing was terrible; I could hear the TV and people talking inside the room as I walked by. When I got to room 1105, I first put my head close to the door to listen for any sounds before knocking. But what I heard was a woman moaning loudly. I listened carefully and confirmed it was the sound of a woman having sex, intermittent and like the sounds of repeated thrusting during sex. I recognized my wife's voice. Then, it seemed the man sped up, and my wife's moans suddenly rose in pitch.
I listened for a while, then realized I might be seen standing at the door for too long, so I went to the stairwell and smoked a cigarette. Then I went back to the room. Two women passed by the door ahead of me. One grabbed the other, and they both stopped and listened intently. I wasn't far away, and I could hear my wife moaning inside. Noticing me behind, the two women covered their mouths and laughed as they continued walking. I stood at the door, took out my phone, and called my wife. She didn't answer. The passion inside continued; I could hear her moaning briefly as they changed positions, then immediately resumed, still very loudly. She was probably enjoying herself immensely. I didn't knock. I went back downstairs and waited in my car, texting my wife to say I'd arrived, but she didn't reply.
I went back to the hotel room around 1 a.m., and this time there was no sound. I knocked gently on the door, but there was no response. I called again, but there was still no answer. Having no other option, I went back to the car and waited. Around 6 a.m., my wife called to ask where I was. I told her I'd been waiting downstairs. She said she was drunk and hadn't heard the phone, and asked me to wait a little longer. Almost another hour passed before I saw my wife come out. As she got into the car, I asked her what was wrong. She said she was drunk and had fallen asleep alone in the room. She had just taken a shower and was urging me to drive back to the company to get the car.
Later, I thought about it. My wife was definitely drunk, but what was going on in the room? How many men were there? Could they have forced themselves on me? If something had happened, it would have been a real problem. Sigh, I also felt I had done something wrong.
