Looking back, the time span for creating this work is quite long, so long that I don't even have enough hands to bend it. From the time I met Chen Dong in 2005 until now, we have been old friends for 18 years. During these 18 years, we have each lived our own lives, occasionally communicating, but never meeting in person.
Nevertheless, I still consider Chen Dong my friend, and during this period I wrote works for him and his wife intermittently, but they were never published.
How could a writer like me, who suffers from obsessive-compulsive disorder, easily abandon a work halfway through? So, despite the years that have passed, I picked up my pen again, determined to properly organize this work. First, to organize the format; second, to improve the details; third, to add new stories; and also, to express some of my thoughts and reflections over the years. Ultimately, I hope it will become a complete work that can be presented to the world.
Just today, I told Chen Dong that looking back at this work now, it was written too roughly back then. Many details were glossed over. There may be various reasons for this, such as the restrictions on publishing on websites back then, or my writing skills were not high at the time.
Regardless, this time I've decided to rework it according to current creative standards, to truly enrich it and bring the characters of Chen Dong and Yao Jia to life. Furthermore, I've again obtained Chen Dong's permission to include more photos of their activities in the work, aiming to make it more appealing.
It should be noted that the writing style of this work seems to be quite different from my previous works. In this work, I will use several chapters to explain a story, but there is almost no logical connection between the stories. In this sense, this work is more like a "chronicle-style" novel, which can be described as "a book that covers the beginning and end of all things".
