Why does my private parts make noise during intercourse?

    page views:1  Publication date:2023-04-07
A woman came to the hospital's gynecology clinic and told the doctor that she had recently been experiencing a persistent, involuntary expulsion of gas from her vagina, causing her anxiety, sleep disturbances, dizziness, and weakness in her limbs. A quack doctor had told her it was vaginal flatulence, caused by a ghost, and advised her to burn incense and pray to her ancestors for protection. She did so, but after spending a considerable amount of money, there was no improvement. Desperate, she went to the hospital seeking scientific help.

Another woman, Ms. Liu, over fifty years old, told the doctor that during sexual intercourse, a sound was produced with the movement of the penis, as if air was being expelled. She said she had never experienced this before and asked if it might be a sign of a gynecological disease.

Both women's cases were related to this gas expulsion.

The vaginal flatulence described by the quack doctor is indeed a phenomenon of air being expelled, seen in rectal fistulas, third-degree perineal lacerations, and certain inflammatory conditions where bacteria ferment and produce gas. Alternatively, some patients with neurosis may be more sensitive than usual, experiencing a sensation of gas even without actual expulsion. This is clearly a physiological or pathological phenomenon, not caused by ghosts. Vaginal flatulence is more common in middle-aged and older women who have given birth. Due to the relaxation of the pelvic wall tissues, or the relaxation and atrophy of subcutaneous tissue after menopause, the anterior and posterior walls do not adhere tightly, allowing air to enter. With each contraction, the air is expelled, resulting in vaginal flatulence.

The second patient's sounds during intercourse are also a phenomenon of internal air leakage. Why do sounds occur during intercourse? Normally, during intercourse, the vaginal walls are congested with blood and tightly wrap around the penis, so there is almost no air inside. However, as women age, the vaginal walls become looser and cannot tightly wrap around the penis during intercourse, creating gaps that allow air to enter and remain inside. Furthermore, during intercourse, the outer third of the vagina opens, and the air inside makes a sound with the movement of the penis. The intensity of the sound is directly proportional to the degree of relaxation.

For women experiencing vaginal flatulence, exercises to improve muscle contraction can be performed, such as contraction and relaxation exercises of the anal muscles. It is also recommended to urinate before intercourse and forcefully expel the air. If the noise from sexual activity is so loud that it even affects urination and defecation, anterior and posterior wall reconstruction surgery can be performed to return the bladder and rectum to their original positions. This can eliminate the noise and improve urination and defecation, achieving two goals at once.
