Because Long Tiansheng always wanted to befriend Zhang Yang, Zhu Fangqing did the same.
One night, Zhang Yang stayed at Fangqing's study and had an affair with Yuqing.
Fangqing spoke of Yuxiang's beauty and admiration, saying she could not be swayed by her charm.
Zhang Yang said, "This is not difficult. As the old saying goes, 'If you are willing to sacrifice yourself, you will win others.' I guarantee you'll get the hang of it."

Later, Tian Sheng became deeply attached to Zhang Yang. He repeatedly told Zhang Yang that Qiao'er was beautiful and that he wanted to sleep with her for one night so that he would be willing to die for her.
Zhang Yang smiled and thought for a moment before saying, "It's not difficult. Fangqing often goes out to rest now and never comes home. Just wait until she leaves, then you pretend to be Fangqing and go into the inner room to sleep. When Second Madam asks how you got in, just say you were talking to me, and there will be no problem."

上得戏，将完半本，这时玉香到巧娘楼上小解。
芳卿无心上楼，走到床前，恰好玉香未及系裤。
芳卿上前抱住玉香，玉香抵死不肯。
芳卿笑道：“好了两个月，今朝倒不肯起来。”
玉香道：“还不要乱话，我养住你廉耻，不叫起来，好好放我下去。”
芳卿想道：“且放他下去，慢慢再问他便了。”
放他穿好衣服，玉香飞也似跑下楼去了。
不期过了几日，家中忙完了，天生想着巧儿，芳卿思着玉香，末免又是张扬线索。
芳卿见玉香睡在床上，他竟脱衣就寝，有心把玉香便干。
弄得酣美之际，芳卿叫道：“可好么？”
玉香道：“好！”
芳卿道：“今夜这般亲热，为何前番在我家楼上，死也不肯？”
玉香心下吃了一惊：“此事并不吐露一些，缘何丈夫知道？又说有我家楼上，莫非朱芳卿了？”
灯尚未灭，把眼仔细一看，惊道：“你这般大胆，倘遇见我良人，怎样开交！”
芳卿道：“你尚在梦里。也因你夫主要想勾引张扬，我从前月那日，如此如此，直到如今，只我再不提起，所以你不猜疑。”
玉香笑道：“这样奇事，如此和你扯个直了。”
芳卿道：“为何？”
玉香笑道：“你的令正也差认了尊兄，亦被良人冒名宿歇了。”
芳卿听见大怒道：“有这般奇事！了不得，我决不干休。”
玉香笑道：“好没道理。我把你睡了两月。你妻子又难道我丈夫睡不得的。这是你不仁，不是他不义，还是谁先做此事？”
芳卿默默无言。又道：“我妻子怎样与他？”
玉香笑道：“此时天生也在你家，恨着你哩，这是天理昭彰，一报还你一报，还要气甚的。下次肯换，两下交易几次，如不肯，各自守了地方，竟自歇了。”
倒说得芳卿笑将起来道：“不要便宜了他。”
说着便又弄将起来。
这玉香初时，只说弄干她的是丈夫，不在意上，后来这番晓得芳卿奸淫自己身躯，自然又发出一段媚人的光景。
芳卿十分爱极，便道：“玉娘，我与你十分恩爱，不若两下换转了，可使得么？”
玉香道：“活该死的，只好暗里做此丑事，闻知于人，岂不羞死。你是男子汉大丈夫，把人骂了乌龟忘八，看你如何做人！想你二娘还不知是天生，你明晚归家，与二娘说明，看他心事如何。”
言之末已，天色微明，穿衣别去。竟到书房，见了张扬，便牛牛的说着前事。
张扬穿衣起来，笑道：“这是颠倒姻缘的小说一样了，你不淫人妇，人不淫你妻，你家嫂嫂，还不知此事。倘然知道，乱将起来，外人知道，便不好了。只好隐然灭丑，方是高人。若是播扬起来，外边路上行人口似碑，一个传两，两人传三，登时传将起来了。那卖新文的巴不得有此新事，刊了本儿。待坊一卖，天下都知道了。那时就将一万银子去买他不做声也难了。不若静忍，方是上策。”
芳卿道：“我想起来，都是你做成此事。”
张扬道：“干我甚事。你自想玉娘标致，做起的勾当，与我何干？”
芳卿无言，进内房去，见了巧儿，巧儿道：“好梳洗了，只管松头散发的。”
芳卿扯了巧儿，低低道：“我昨夜失陪了，你不要怪我。”
巧儿笑道：“这样说来，昨夜睡在床上的是一只狗！”
芳卿道：“我晚上与你说知。”
巧儿满肚皮疑心起来，欲待再问，见芳卿又走了出去，暗暗千思万想，摸摸情由，想昨夜人要比丈夫身子轻巧，莫非被人盗了？”
磋磋呀呀，嘆息到晚。
芳卿与张扬吃了晚饭，竟至房中，与巧儿睡了，巧儿忙问早上情由。
芳卿将偷玉香缘故，从头一说。巧儿嘆息道：“人必自侮，然后人侮之。原是你不是先起的。如今切不可再蹈前辙了。”
芳卿道：“那玉香是个妓女出身，极会勾人，昨夜说出原由，知是我了，反发出许多情爱之情，一时难舍，必须再与他睡睡，方肯住手。”
巧儿笑道：“如此说来，倘龙天生到来，我也变不得脸了。”
芳卿道：“且看下回分解。”
两夫妻未免有一番儿事情，真像剖白后再弄干起来，竟别有一番情趣。
次日，恰好龙天生往亲戚家拜寿，芳卿知道，竟至后园，开了后门，到玉香房内。
玉香看见，吃了一惊，忙走到后边冷房内，停了脚步。
芳卿随他同到房中，玉香道：“此事只好暗地里还好做做，怎么青天白日，走将过来。倘被他人看见，还是教我叫喊起来，还是隐藏得过。以后切不可如此。”
芳卿笑道：“只因爱卿，一时见天生出去，起了念头，望你怨我之罪。”
芳卿细把玉香一看，果是十分爱人，搂抱求欢。
玉香难推，就在椅上云雨起来。
白昼宣淫，意兴更浓。玉香跪在椅面，扶在椅背，酥胸半露，奶子跌出，小裤儿褪下一截，把夹着小桃源的两大瓣粉臀翘首以待。
芳卿喜玫玫进前，摸乳插穴，你迎我凑，两人愈加恩爱。
直至事完，玉香要出外净手，回首道：“你且坐着，我出去了，再来与你讲话。”
竟至房中净手，并着女使俱在外堂间耍，将轩门反闭，又到房中，笑道：“我昨晚把你情由，说与天生，他也没奈何道：‘这是天使其然。只索罢了，只是难舍巧儿，如之奈何。’我便取笑他道：‘两下换转了如何？’他说：‘却使木得。纵然你是阅人多矣，他是个小妻，两下些混帐儿罢了。我想他肯如此，我怎生作难，不如与张小官说明白，着他中间帮衬，摆席通家酒儿，大家各无禁忌如何？’”
芳卿笑道：“总是槐花净手，白不来了。依你这般说便了。”
芳卿同玉香到园中角门首，芳卿推门，那门锁紧了。忙即两下，巧儿开门，见他两个便笑道：“你两个倒好得紧，明公正气的来往了。”
玉香脸儿红将起来。
巧儿忙道：“大家取笑，如此认真？你我一般般的，有甚羞涩！”
一把扯了她到自己房中，唤女使便整些便物，留玉香吃酒。
芳卿到书房说与张扬道：“玉香说天生原故。”
张扬道：“等我与你两下打一个和局罢。”
次日，张扬走到天生家，就是撮合一般，花言巧语，说了一番。
龙天生已依允了，叉与芳卿说了一遍，两下都座承了，每边出银二两，做了一本戏文，不请一个外客，就摆在花厅后面，就做一本南北两京奇遇的颠倒姻缘戏文，两下自此明明白白交易了。
不期那些左右邻舍闻知此事，传将起来，笑个不住。
有那好事的，登时做下一首(西江月)词儿道：
相交酒肉兄弟，兑换柴米夫妻。暗中巧换世应稀，喜是小星娼妓。倘是生儿生女，不知谁父谁爷。其中关系岂轻微，为甚逢场做戏。
满杭城传得热闹，朱龙二家也觉得不雅，想要挪移开了，又不便;欲要嫁了妇人，又难割舍。遂自拈了四句诗，回着诺人道:
这段奇缘难自由，暗中谁识巧机谋。
皆因天遣偿花债，没甚高低有甚羞。
后众人见了他四句，又题他四句：
张郎之妇李郎骑，李妇重为张民委。
你不羞时我耍笑，从来没有这般奇。
朱龙三家兄了，又復四句道：
商家交好又何妨，何苦劳君笔砚忙。
自己儿孙如似我，那时回覆怎生当。
自此各人勐省道：“果是，倘若儿孙不争气，妻子白白养汉的也有。还不如他小阿妈兑换的好哩。”
内中又有人道：“小阿妈换了，也元此事。”内中又有人一说：“此乃世间常事，岂不闻爱妻换马，篷前赠妾的故事。”
内中有个王小二，是个单身光棍，无赖小人，某日吃醉了，便道：“这朱龙两个都是无耻乌龟，所以做这样事。”
朱子贵恰好出门，听见他骂得毒，打个熘风巴掌。龙天生听见，也走出来帮打。
一众邻舍都采劝息，把王小二怨畅一番道：“小小年纪，一也不该如此轻薄。”
王小二自知不是，到夜深跳人江中死了。大家都不知道。
过了几日，那尸首飘将起来，浮于江面。
渔父捞上岸来，大家-认，方知是王小二投江死了。

The old man said, "If he really did jump into the river, why should you pay with your life? Quickly return the money for the fire and burial."
Zhang Yang, Long Tiansheng, and Zhu Yugui were each given thirty strokes of the cane as punishment for their licentious behavior. The two women, unaware of this, were not punished and were expelled without being questioned.
The interrogation proceeded immediately:
The trial revealed that Zhu and Long were two treacherous criminals, indulging their wives' promiscuity and fathering children like beasts. They brought this upon themselves, daring others to curse them, yet willingly endured the humiliation. Wang Xiaoer, a drunken scoundrel, became a ghost adrift on the river.
Zhu Yugui, without considering the proper methods, recklessly resorted to his frivolous fist techniques.
Long Tiansheng offered his full assistance, and together they were found guilty of an unjust crime.
The two families were forced to agree to a marriage, which is unacceptable given the severity of the punishment.
The crime is over; the two men are guilty and should be treated as one. The two women should each choose a good husband and take a legal wife, thus avoiding punishment from their respective clans.
Wait until the child is born to the father, then there will be no suspicion of the father's impending death. Forgive him thirty times, and act swiftly on the previous matter.
Those who violate the declaration and take office should be severely punished.
The three men, Zhu, Long, and Zhang, walked step by step out of the post station.
Once home, I finished what I had to do.
Helpless, he severed their bond, and each of the two women was married off to a good man and took a wife, thus ending their tragic love.
One moved to Wu Mountain, and the other moved to Yue.
From that moment on, no one spoke again. Indeed:
A clever plan that succeeded by chance has become a topic of conversation for thousands of years.
