Ancient erotic lyrics and songs by multiple authors

Two bodies embrace, perfectly harmonious and wondrous. Their bodies intertwine, gently pulling and tugging at each other. After the kiss, their lips murmur softly.

Caught in the central trap, what joy needs no words! The refreshing rain and dew nourish the flowers, flowing from the orifices of their waists.

------《Jade Linked Rings》

New swallows before the temple, mimicking a pair of birds flying behind the curtain. Having made a vow of love, they flutter into the emerald curtains.

They seem to want to join hands on the flower branches, holding the jade handle of the perfect nectar. The beauty of this gathering surpasses even spring, yet they know that soon their skirts will be removed. ---《Waving Dust Handle》

The first poem is straightforward, the second slightly embellished, but both are no different from the jingles written by bored people on public toilet doors—neither is good poetry.

Last night, while browsing through "Han, Wei, and Six Dynasties Poetry" at home, I inadvertently discovered several good poems in the Yuefu poetry of the Northern and Southern Dynasties, vividly depicting the love between men and women. The following are excerpts:

* **Ancient Yuefu:** "

I entrust you to buy a Wu silk bundle; why ask its length?

You're used to holding me; consider its size carefully.

" * **Jade Song:** "

When Jade was a young girl, my lover was infatuated.

I felt no shame towards him and turned to embrace him.

" * **Midnight Song:** "

I didn't comb my hair last night; my silken hair draped over my shoulders.

I nestled on my lover's lap; how could I not be pitied? "

* **Midnight Four Seasons Song:**

"Autumn moonlight shines through the window; I extinguish the candle and

loosen my silk skirt. Smiling behind the curtain, my whole body is fragrant with orchids."

I like the first one the most. Which one do you all like?

"Lewd and erotic poems" have been abundant since ancient times. Since the Tang Dynasty, countless poets and writers have recited poems about love and lust while lying on the bellies of prostitutes. Some have even counted over 2,000 poems dedicated to prostitutes in the *Complete Tang Poems*. The Song Dynasty was even more prolific; the lyrics of the notorious womanizer Liu Yong are still recited today, while Huang Tingjian was unfortunately incorporated into stories about abstaining from lust and delusion. Even more remarkably, these erotic poems and lyrics sometimes become common expressions in modern speech, though people are unaware of it. Today, we often use the phrase "a pear tree in full bloom pressing down on a crabapple tree" to describe an "old ox eating tender grass," but some people don't know that this allusion originates from erotic poetry. The

poem *A Playful Gift to Zhang Xian* reads: "

An eighteen-year-old bride and an eighty-year-old groom, white hair against red makeup.

A pair in the mandarin duck quilt at night, a pear tree in full bloom pressing down on a crabapple tree. "

The author of this poem is the famous Su Dongpo. In mocking Zhang Xian, he probably forgot about his own time with his concubine, Wang Chaoyun.
