Zhang Sheng's Lewd Tales

    page views:1  Publication date:2022-09-28
This poem, "West River Moon," speaks solely of wine and women. No matter how clever, intelligent, strong, or resolute a man, if he doesn't indulge in them, all is well; but once he does, none can escape their allure. Even Chu Chongtong, a ruthless killer, couldn't escape the lament of "Yu Xi, Yu Xi" upon his defeat. This shows that even heroes cannot escape the allure of love. But that's another story. Now, let me tell you about a hero of our dynasty, a literary giant and a martial master, who too succumbed to the allure of wine and women, becoming a legendary figure. Truly a spectacle for a thousand years, an example for those with feelings. In Tianjin, there lived a young man named Zhang Ji, styled She Si, fourteen years old. He possessed extraordinary strength, able to draw an iron-framed bow and wield a halberd skillfully. He had received instruction in single-whip techniques from a mysterious figure, becoming incredibly elusive. He could shoot nine arrows in rapid succession, piercing the wind and piercing the willow. Furthermore, he could unleash a hundred arrows at once, each hitting its mark; and with thirty fire dragon divine spears, those struck by the flames would die instantly. Moreover, he could snatch a general's head from within three hundred paces as easily as taking something from a bag. As for riding a fierce horse and wielding a long sword, those were secondary pursuits. He was born with eyebrows like the character "八" (eight), beautiful as green mountains, and eyes as clear as autumn water. His face was as fair as the full moon, and his chivalrous spirit was unparalleled. If not for a meeting at the celestial palace of Penglai, he would surely be found in the flower garden of Yaochi. At that time, it was a turbulent time, and witnessing the hardships of the era, he had the ambition to bring peace to the world. His father, Zhang Hong, courtesy name Zizhong, had once served as the General of Ningfu, but was now living in seclusion due to his incompatibility with the times. His elder brother, Zhang Quan, had already inherited the title of Commander. His mother, Jin, was also safe and sound. One day, Zhang Sheng felt that he was not as good as knowing a single character, so he told his father that he wanted to study. His father was overjoyed and said, "Our family has a long tradition of martial arts prowess, yet you alone aspire to literary pursuits. This is truly exceptional. Why shouldn't I follow your example?" They chose a teacher, and Zhang Sheng, a man of unwavering faith and a thirst for knowledge, was never ashamed to ask questions of those less knowledgeable. He treated his teachers with respect and his friends with trust, always remaining humble and composed. Even those who knew him as a former military officer could not regard him with arrogance. He mastered the Three Classics and the Five Classics, as well as various literary works, poems, lyrics, and songs. In his spare time, he explored the arts of music, chess, calligraphy, and painting. His eloquence and wisdom were unparalleled; he was comparable to the ancient masters Ji Bai and Pan An. Suddenly, he passed the imperial examinations in the capital, winning all three rounds and becoming an official student. Scholars flocked to his door, their robes flowing in and out. His family had been known for three generations of wealthy merchants. His sudden rise to such prominence was surely due to his studies in archery. Zhang Sheng was unconventional and unrestrained, enjoying his freedom and frolicking among women and brothels without ever turning down a place. He once said, "One can attain enlightenment in wine, and encounter immortals among flowers." Seeing this, he became a fine scholar. At that time, Governor He Guantao, a renowned scholar of the time, reported the good news that Zhang Sheng had ranked first in the quarterly examination. Zhang went to thank the examiner and only then learned that Zhang was the son of Wu Mouzi. He was astonished and exclaimed, "Your writings are elegant and your character is heroic and magnanimous, encompassing thousands. You are destined to be a prime minister, yet you come from a military family. Your loyalty and peaceful spirit overflow from your writing. In the future, you will rise to high office and enjoy the honors of a minister. Who else but you can preserve your good name?" Zhang repeatedly declined. Even the virtuous Yan Hui only became famous after receiving Confucius's guidance. Although Zhang Sheng was a man of both literary and military talent, he had only followed the path of other students and had not yet achieved widespread fame. But after Governor He's praise, everyone in Tianjin knew Zhang Sheng. Furthermore, Governor He sent messengers daily to inquire about him and granted him an audience every two or three days, showing great favor. His father and brother also gained much prestige. One day, the governor discussed border affairs. Zhang Sheng said, "The border general is bound to be defeated if he makes peace." A few days later, a report came that the border situation was becoming increasingly urgent. Governor He was at a loss and asked Zhang Sheng, "With such a vast territory, such a large population, and such strict military strategy, why can't we control a mere clown? Is it because our troops are weak and our generals are not brave?" Zhang Sheng replied, "No, it's not that our troops are weak or our generals are not brave, but what we lack are strategists. It's like a dog hunting a beast, but the one who gives the signal is the person. Without the right person, how can the dog succeed? Today's military strategists are all well-versed in writing, but they are merely good at words. It's not that they don't seek out one or two mentors, but they are all just people who pick and choose phrases and dabble in writing." They could only serve as idle companions, drinking and eating meat, writing frivolous verses; how could they possibly concern themselves with matters of state? Occasionally, one or two officials might attempt to rectify this, but they merely recruited brave men, assigning them the duties of bodyguards and foot soldiers. There wasn't a single humble scholar who dared to recruit heroes. Those with wisdom and strategy, however, were neither interested in rank nor concerned with official position. They harbored great ambitions and possessed brilliant strategies, certain victory in battle and decisive action in reform. They could quell great chaos and save the day, upholding high principles without seeking fame. When they encountered a worthy confidant, they would dedicate themselves wholeheartedly, vowing to die for their cause. "Once this man is found, the people of the city can be driven to their deaths, and the chaos will be brought to the fore. The troops will surely benefit, and how can a mere clown be so difficult to quell?" Governor He praised, "These words are profoundly insightful about the current problems. I beg Your Majesty to invite him to join us." He then asked, "You are from a military family. Now that the enemy is rampant, you must have some strategies for attack and defense." Zhang Sheng replied, "Although the bandits are strong, they fear being attacked from behind and dare not penetrate too deeply. I only fear that local bandits and stubborn people will take the opportunity to launch an attack, which must be guarded against. I have four strategies for attack and defense by land and water, which can ensure the safety of this place." He then took out a map from his sleeve and presented it to him. Governor He looked at it for a long time and sighed, "At this critical moment, with such a son, the country has found a worthy man." Zhang Sheng declined. He then took his leave of Governor He to study and prepare for the autumn examination. Governor He could not keep him and sent someone to prepare defensive measures based on Zhang's map. Now, about two hundred miles away from Tianjin, there is a Phoenix Mountain. Connecting with the Erqi Mountains, its head is in the northeast and its tail connects to Shaanxi, stretching for over a thousand li. It is a gathering place for bandits and a place where outlaws roam. There is a mountain bandit named Zheng Xiong, who calls himself the Great King of Chaos. He has ten Northern Brothers and fifty thousand followers, along with more than three thousand other bandits. Knowing that the border is in turmoil, he plans to raise an army to attack Tianjin, take the mountains, cross the Yellow River, plunder Huaiyang, cross Zhenjiang, and go straight to Nanjing. That day, the group gathered to discuss and choose a day to launch an attack. The strategist Lu Yu stepped forward and said, "Brother, please wait a moment. Tianjin is a vital city connecting the north and south, governing three border regions and serving as a thoroughfare for thirteen provinces. Governor He is humble and courteous, enjoying great popularity. He commands a hundred thousand troops and countless generals. If attacked, the surrounding counties will hear the alarm and send reinforcements to Tianjin. We will be caught between a rock and a hard place, inviting disaster. My plan is for one or two of our capable brothers to go to Tianjin and surrender. If no one there can resist, they can advance in close quarters and provide support. We can then lead a light force, traveling by day and night, reaching Tianjin in less than three days. With support from within and without, we can capture it upon arrival. This army will employ cunning tactics..." "Know yourself and know your enemy, and you will be swift as lightning." "If their forces are superior, then we should rest and prepare, stockpile provisions and supplies, buy horses and recruit soldiers, and wait for the right time to act. Forcing a military action would not be a foolproof plan." Zheng Xiong asked, "What do you brothers think of the strategist's words?" The others replied, "The strategist's view is indeed perfect; we humbly beg you to accept it, brother." Zheng Xiong said, "In that case, which brother dares to go to Tianjin?" A man immediately stepped forward. They looked at him; he was eight feet tall, about forty years old, wearing a white and purple turban, a silver headband, a white python robe, silver-leaf armor, a five-pronged beard, and a purple-brown face. His name was Wang Feibao, courtesy name Huzi. He stepped forward and bowed, saying, "I am but a humble man, but I wish to go to Tianjin." Zheng Xiong said, "If you, my worthy brother, could accompany me, I would surely win over all the civil and military officials of Tianjin. I wonder if you need someone to accompany you?" Fei Bao replied, "Just my daughters will suffice." It turned out that this Wang Fei Bao was from Taiyuan. His wife, Yao, was very beautiful. A corrupt official wanted to rape his wife, so he imprisoned Fei Bao. His wife hanged herself, but the county magistrate realized he was innocent and released her. Fei Bao was filled with resentment and set fire to the official's house at night, killing the entire family. He then took his two daughters and tried to escape to the capital to petition for justice. On the way, he passed a mountain stronghold and was stopped by bandits. He killed dozens of them, and even the leaders could not defeat him. Lu Yu persuaded Zheng Xiong to invite him to the mountain, where he took the third seat. Moved by his wife's loyalty, he never married again. His two daughters were named Nüying and Nüjie. They were well-read, polite, and brave, surpassing all others in the army. Fei Bao often said to the two women, "I was originally a good citizen, how could I be a thief? At that time, I had no home anywhere, and you sisters had no one to rely on, so we clung to our lives and used this as a means of survival. You must study literature and martial arts diligently, and one day, when you repent and reform, you should dedicate yourselves to serving the country, atone for your sins, and become good citizens again. This is my wish." When suitors from the same village came to propose marriage, he replied, "My daughter has sworn that she will be as skilled in literature and martial arts as him, and we will then marry." Several men who fought with him were either beaten or captured alive, and after that, no one proposed marriage to him anymore. Zheng Xiong knew that the father and son were highly skilled in martial arts, so he was overjoyed. He ordered a farewell banquet to be prepared. That day, Fei Bao returned to his room and said to the two women, "Tomorrow, you sisters will go to Tianjin to surrender. If Heaven takes pity on us and finds a way for us to return to the right path, then our days on the mountain will be over." The next day, Wang Fei Bao disguised himself as a soldier, carrying a long spear, the two women in blue cotton-padded jackets and soft boots, and a large sword. He also carried three sets of armor in a bundle, mounted his horse, and was seen off by his brothers at the border. It was said: Phoenix Mountain lost three tigers, but Tianjin gained four heroes. They traveled day and night, eating and drinking as they went, and after three or four days, they arrived in Tianjin. They saw flags waving on the city walls, spears and swords densely packed, a drawbridge high, and notices posted everywhere. The guards at the gates were like wolves and tigers, with large placards demanding the arrest of spies. Fei Bao wanted to go inside to see the notice, but his two daughters said, "In times of war, this might arouse suspicion. It would be better to go and surrender." Wang Fei Bao agreed and went to the city gate, loudly proclaiming, "My father and I, along with my two sons, have come to surrender. Please inform them, sir." The guard replied, "Those who wish to surrender, enter through the south gate. We only handle visitors here. There is a recruitment flag at the south gate. Go there." The three of them went to the south gate and indeed saw the recruitment flag fluttering on the city wall. They explained their purpose to the guard. After the guard reported, a blue-flag bearer led them to the guerrilla headquarters. The guerrilla headquarters asked for their names and origins. They presented their petition, which read: "Surrenderer Wang Fei Bao, eldest daughter Nüying, second daughter Nüjie, from Taiyuan, aged forty-two, eldest daughter seventeen, second daughter sixteen. From a young age, they studied strategy and tactics, and later mastered warfare. They are proficient in all eighteen martial arts, and understand all the strategies of the Six Secret Teachings and the Three Strategies." The Emperor, showing his benevolence, issued an edict recruiting soldiers for the frontier. A soldier, having traveled a thousand miles, volunteered to serve in the vanguard. The guerrilla commander, upon reading the petition, was startled, thinking, "I said he was a recruit, but it turns out he's seeking a recommendation." He immediately ordered him to rise, saying, "If you wish to join, you must be tested in martial arts." Wang Feibao said, "Bring forth the strongest warriors on foot, horse, and water." The guerrilla commander ordered instructors from five battalions to spar with him. Each match lasted anywhere from one to three rounds, leaving them either wounded by spears or beaten. In half a day, twelve men were injured. Wang Feibao laughed, "What else? Bring it on quickly!" No one dared to answer. Wang Feibao shouted, "You cowards who cheated out of grain contracts! Even in times of peace, you've squandered countless military provisions from the court. Today you dare not face me!""Wang Feibao, what if the enemy army comes to the city gates?" The guerrilla was terrified, his face ashen. He mustered his strength and said, "You and your son should return to your lodgings. I will inform the governor and summon you to an audience." Wang Feibao put away his gun and thanked the guerrilla, then asked the guerrilla for accommodations. The guerrilla had no choice but to send someone to take him to an inn and also send him some wine. The next day, the guerrilla told the governor. The governor said, "Since he has made such a boast, he must have ambitions. I shouldn't have sent someone to compete with him so easily. Now he has looked down on me. People outside Tianjin will hear that Tianjin has no one to rely on. If there is any military conflict, we must defeat him." At that moment, Hu Dadao, Luo Dusi, and Xiao Tieqiang knelt down and said, "We are honored by the governor's trust and are willing to capture Wang Feibao and his son to strengthen the morale of the Tianjin army and to show the governor's virtue in nurturing talent." Before He Gong could speak, he was suddenly informed that the general had come to see him. The governor ordered the three to leave and greeted General Xu, telling him what had happened. The general said, "I have come for the same reason. Although this matter involves only the three of them, father and sons, the connection is truly in Tianjin. I have experienced generals like Sha Qi, Zhou Zheng, and Sang Xin under my command, who can assist Hu, Luo, and Xiao. In case of emergency, they can manage. I will personally go down to the arena to test our skills and see how they fare." He ordered all officers, high and low, to be fully armed and ready at the training ground the next day. The following day, he ordered a guerrilla to send someone to invite Wang Feibao to the training ground for a duel. Wang Feibao dismissed the messenger and instructed the two women, "General Xu is a seasoned and experienced commander; his subordinates must have capable men. Be careful." The two women were on high alert. Upon arriving at the training ground, they paid their respects to General Xu, mounted their horses, and engaged in combat. Wang Feibao wounded Hu Dadao with his spear, injured Luo Dusi, and was struck by Xiao Tieqiang with an arrow. Within ten rounds, he defeated the three generals. Sha, Zhou, and Sang then joined the fray. The father and sons fought again, but before twenty rounds had passed, the three generals were defeated once more. General Xu was greatly alarmed, but could only force a smile and said to Wang Feibao, "Your father and son are truly skilled in martial arts. Please stay for a few days while I speak with Governor He and submit a memorial requesting you to lead the troops to the capital." He then sent someone to escort them to their lodgings. The three of them returned with smiles on their faces. Meanwhile, General Xu returned to see the governor and recounted the previous events. The governor was quite displeased. General Xu said, "Tomorrow, let's go to the Minglun Hall together and summon the officials of the guard, as well as the local scholars and students. Perhaps we can find someone to repel him." The next day, the local officials all came to the Minglun Hall and discussed the matter for a while, but none of them agreed. The governor was anxious when suddenly Zhang Sheng came from outside to see the governor. After the officials and their friends sat down, the governor told him about the previous matter. Zhang Sheng stepped forward and said, "I am deeply grateful for the kindness of my father and teacher in raising me. Although I am not talented, I am willing to take on three sides alone, capture the Wang family master alive, and tie him up at the gate. There is no need for my father and teacher to worry about this." The governor said, "..." "We've known each other for our literary pursuits, but I never expected you to be so skilled in warfare. This is a blessing for the nation, and a fortune for this old man!" His father, Zhang Hong, shouted, "So many scholars and warriors wouldn't dare to accept this position. What ability do you have to dare to take on this responsibility?" He then said to the governor, "My son is arrogant and unfit for important tasks." Governor He said, "You know your son is not as capable as I am. My three strategies for offense and defense all came from your son, and they were all accurate. I was preoccupied with military affairs and forgot about them for a moment. I didn't ask for your advice. Your son is not one who merely studies without understanding. You have no worries." He then asked Zhang Sheng if he had any armor. Zhang Sheng replied, "I've long been devoted to literary pursuits and haven't prepared any war equipment. I truly have none. Perhaps my father's can be used temporarily, but I can't find any warhorses." It was just as the saying goes: Where can one find a fine steed? The road is full of mediocre horses; a fine steed lies in its stall, and even the great horseman is saddened. Chapter Two: A handsome man fights fiercely, sisters are stranded in the rain. It is said that Governor He asked Zhang Sheng if he had any armor. Zhang Sheng asked to borrow his father's horse, but lamented the lack of one. General Xu said, "Yesterday I acquired a foreign horse named Mo Qilin. It is eight feet tall and twelve feet long, pure black without any blemishes, its body as red as charcoal. No one dares to ride it. I wonder if you, my esteemed friend, can ride it. If you can, I will send it to you." Zhang Sheng asked, "Where is it now?" General Xu replied, "Only the groom Wan Neng can lead it; no one else dares to approach." He then ordered Wan Neng to lead it to the training ground. Zhang Sheng leaped onto the horse. This horse had never been ridden before and ran wildly. Zhang Sheng was strong and courageous, and he rode it fiercely. After about half a day, he had mastered it and found it to be a fine steed. General Xu praised his ability highly and added, "The local official of Xichuan once sent me a set of chainmail black silver tiger armor, a black silver dragon-swallowing forehead ornament, and a Shu brocade robe with floral patterns. I have battle gear but have not worn it. I will also send it to you, my esteemed friend, young and strong." He hurriedly sent someone to fetch it. Zhang Sheng, fully armored, looked as if tailor-made. The governor, seeing this, said to Xu Gong, "Everything has its owner, and nothing is accidental. This one coincidence alone ensures his victory over Wang Feibao." Xu Gong replied, "Indeed, it's as if made by heaven." That night, he invited Zhang Sheng to the back hall for drinks. Zhang Sheng said, "This man has come from afar; his abilities must extend beyond martial arts. Tomorrow, we can send a thousand men to him, firstly to boost morale, and secondly to learn about his skills." The two officials, He and Xu, praised him highly. After the drinks, Zhang Sheng returned home. The next day, fully armored, Zhang Sheng rode his black unicorn to the training ground. His father, worried, also went. The governor had already informed Wang Feibao, who, with his two daughters, had arrived at the training ground. Both sides paid their respects to the governor, who bestowed three cups of wine upon each and ordered them to send a thousand soldiers, to be under his command. Governor He, General Xu, and Zhang Sheng's father sat in the martial arts hall observing the troops. They saw: banners obscuring the bright sun, and a murderous aura swirling among the clouds. Swords and spears gleamed coldly, mirrors and halberds gleamed menacingly. Bows curved like the autumn moon, arrows pierced like stars. Golden armor gleamed like yellow oranges, silver helmets resembled jade bells. The gongs roared, shaking heaven and earth, the drums thundered like lightning. Men were fierce, horses were mighty dragons. After three drumbeats, heroes emerged, slaying generals and seizing flags in half a day. After three drumbeats, Wang Feibao led his thousand troops, deploying them in a single formation. Zhang Sheng deployed an eight-gate golden lock formation. At the flags of both formations, Wang Feibao appeared, dressed as a white horse galloping like snow, his spear gleaming like frost. Where banners fluttered, a demon appeared, a scene of desolation. To his left was a heroine, to his right a female warrior, both imposing and exuding murderous intent. From the east, drums and horns sounded in unison, and Zhang Sheng appeared, dressed as a warrior, his armor made of black silver, his robe of Shu brocade, his arrows concealed tightly. He also wielded a painted halberd, his copper whip appearing and disappearing unpredictably. His swift attacks were astonishing. The black unicorn arrives to steal souls; the handsome young man is ruthless. To his left stands his retainer Zhang Zhong, and to his right, Zhang Yi. Wang Feibao stares intently, and sees a handsome young general emerge from the eastern ranks, no more than sixteen or seventeen years old, with an elegant and composed demeanor, showing no sign of recklessness. Feibao is overjoyed, thinking to himself: "Having such a son-in-law is enough. Regardless of his martial arts, his peaceful demeanor alone has tempered many of my carelessness and impetuosity." Then, Wang Feibao calmly said, "General of the Eastern Campaign, would like to know your name." Zhang Sheng bowed and said, "General Wang, I am Zhang Ji, the second son of Zhang Hong, the General of Taiyuan. I have come to learn from your defeat of many generals." Wang Feibao said, "So you are a relative of the late Zhang Zizhong. The late Zhang's reputation is known throughout the world, and I have long admired your name. Today, I am facing this chaos, and I have no face to show under spears and swords. If I make any mistakes, it would be disrespectful to your father. Perhaps it would be better to have another general test his skills against me." Wang Feibao was indeed impressed by Zhang Sheng's words. Zhang Sheng's words were acceptable, but upon hearing them, he was enraged and his heroic spirit soared. He roared, "You scoundrel, how dare you underestimate me! I swear I will not rest until I capture you!" He spurred his horse, brandished his halberd, and thrust it at Wang Feibao's chest. Wang Feibao quickly parried with his spear, and a fierce battle ensued: banners fluttered wildly, and drums thundered. A mournful wind rose, sweat broke out, and the air grew heavy as the clouds hung low. Blood spilled, staining the halberds crimson; dust billowed, obscuring the horses' heads. After the battle, who would prevail? Broken halberds littered the sandy banks. The two fought for over thirty rounds, neither gaining the upper hand. Wang Feibao thought to himself, "What a fine general! I've never met such a match in my life. I never expected to encounter such a formidable foe." He secretly marveled. Zhang Sheng, a young and inexperienced man, eager to show off his heroism, thrust his halberd relentlessly, leaving Wang Feibao with no opening. Zhang Sheng thought, "The halberd can't defeat him; I'll use my whip." He drew his bronze whip, used his halberd to deflect Wang Feibao's spear, and lashed out at the head with the whip, shouting, "Take this!" Feibao cried out in alarm, dodging the blow, only to be struck squarely in the heart. His heart shattered like stars, and he coughed up blood, turning his horse to flee. Zhang Sheng shouted, "Where do you think you're going? I'm coming!" He spurred his black unicorn and chased after him. From the sound of bells ringing on the western front, a general appeared, shouting, "General Zhang, stop your reckless pursuit of my father! I am coming!" Seeing someone engage in battle, Zhang Sheng stopped his horse, looked closely, and exclaimed in surprise, "Zhang Sheng, it's as if Guanyin Bodhisattva has descended!" Before him stood a woman: her forehead scarf ablaze with flames, her crimson robe stained with blood. Her golden armor glowed crimson, her battle robe a long, red cloud. Her sword sparkled like stars, her horse like a red-clawed dragon. Her velvet ropes dripped with crimson, her bronze hammer glowed with purple light. It was as if a fire dragon saintess had descended to earth, her entire body radiating crimson smoke. Zhang Sheng asked, "Who comes?" The female general replied, "I am Wang Nüying. You injured my father, and I have come to avenge the whipping." With that, she swung her hammer. Zhang Sheng, unperturbed, dropped his halberd and met her attack with his whip. This time, the situation was different: this woman sought revenge for her father's death, while the other displayed her extraordinary skills. The double hammers flashed like lightning, the single whip resembled a dragon's belt. One moved with crimson smoke, startling even ghosts and gods; the other moved with a black unicorn, darkening the heavens and earth. The two generals, male and female, were like celestial beings, their battle a fierce and unpredictable affair. After more than ten rounds of fighting, Wang Nüying thought: "She is indeed a formidable opponent. I cannot defeat her. I will feign defeat and capture her with my hidden weapons." She made a feint and turned her horse to flee. Zhang Sheng, knowing it was a trick, spurred his horse to pursue. Nüying, anticipating his approach, released her red cotton lasso. Zhang Sheng dodged it. Nüying then launched a meteor fork, which Zhang Sheng evaded. Taking advantage of the situation, she feigned defeat and fled. Nüying, thinking Zhang Sheng had been hit by a dart, spurred her horse to give chase. Zhang Sheng drew his bow and arrow, intending to shoot, but thought: "Such a beauty, it would be a pity to kill her with a single arrow. I will use a series of arrows to hit her head, hoping she will be grateful for my mercy." He shouted, "Lady, watch me shoot you in the head!" Nüying was startled; the arrow was already upon her. She caught it with her hand and cried out, "Caught it!" Before she finished speaking, the next arrow struck the phoenix's head. She realized Zhang Sheng possessed the divine skill of a rapid-fire arrow, hitting its mark every time. He had shown mercy, unwilling to harm her. Just as she was about to rein in her horse and retreat, Zhang Sheng's horse had already reached her. She had no choice but to regroup and fight again. Another twenty rounds ensued, until Nüying could barely parry, unable to retaliate, her body drenched in sweat. Knowing she was exhausted, Zhang Sheng threw away his whip, luring her in. Nüying, worn out by Zhang Sheng's attack, saw him open and, without discerning the truth, seized the opportunity, attacking with both hammers with all her might. Zhang Sheng forced her in with his whip...The double hammers missed their mark and landed in Zhang Sheng's arms. Zhang Sheng swiftly extended his arm, grabbed the lion-headed belt, and lifted it over the saddle. He reined in his horse and turned back, just as he heard a shout from the western ranks: "Leave my sister behind!" Zhang Sheng turned his horse to look at the female general, who held double swords, rode a yellow-marked horse, and was dressed entirely in yellow. She wore a golden crown with phoenix wings on her head, and golden armor adorned with dragon scales. Her pale yellow robe was embroidered with floral patterns, and her silk belt was adorned with unusual ornaments. A three-foot-long sword hung at her waist, and she wielded a golden hammer like a fierce hawk. She leaped over mountains and streams like a yellow-clad warrior, slaying generals and flags with her double swords. She was determined to avenge her father and sister, her face burning with murderous intent. Seeing her fierce approach, Zhang Sheng thought, "To fight her, I must drop what I've captured. I'd better use my divine claw to subdue her, capture her, and achieve two goals with one move, showcasing my unparalleled heroism." He then took out a flying claw from his leopard-skin pouch, unleashed it into the air, and shouted, "Wait, female general! Watch me take your head with my flying claw!" The heroine, rushing to rescue her sister, heard this and looked up. How formidable! A red tassel reflected the sun amidst the mist, its sound like spring thunder in the air. Five claws extended and retracted like dragons playing, one unattached like a bird in flight. It wouldn't leave until its head was taken, it wouldn't return until its heart was seen. Years ago, Ma Yuan captured Wu Bo; today, Zhang Sheng subdues Li Ji. The heroine, seeing the flying claw slamming down on her head, panicked and cried out, "General Zhang, spare my life!" Zhang Sheng said, "Discard your twin swords and I'll spare you." The heroine had no choice but to drop her twin swords and plead with the saddle. Zhang Sheng said, "It's alright. I'll come to your rescue." He turned his horse and rode to the heroine's side, shook his leopard-shaped pouch, retracted his magic claw, and took the opportunity to lift the heroine onto his horse. Without returning to his formation, he went straight to the martial hall, where the three armies cheered and the flag bearers and drummers greeted him. Originally, this claw, if used to strike the face, would be fatal. The overhead strike was just a bluff. The heroine, unaware of the reason, was frightened and dropped her twin swords. Taking advantage of her panic and struggle, Zhang Sheng captured her alive and put an end to the case. This showed great wisdom and compassion. Lord He and Lord Xu, along with their father, saw Zhang Sheng whip Wang Feibao, capture Wang Nüying, and subdue Wang Nüjie. He was truly a hero who could hold off three sides single-handedly. They came down to greet him and saw Zhang Sheng carrying one of them in each hand. Lord He said, "My dear friend, don't let them off the horse. I'll toast your skill in capturing the king." He poured a large cup and called the gatekeeper to serve Zhang Sheng a drink. Xu Gongdao said, "The autumn curtain is near; I toast you with the title of 'Crown Laurel Blossom'." Zhang Sheng also drank. Governor He said, "Since you've already said 'Crown Laurel Blossom,' you can also speak of 'Third Place Scholar.'" Turning to Zhang's father, he said, "Such a son! As his father, I should also offer a toast. We've already spoken of capturing the king and breaking the laurel; now it's your turn to speak of 'Third Place Scholar.'" Zhang Xian also had someone bring a cup of wine to Zhang Sheng, but remained silent. Xu Gongdao said, "Your son is a hero, renowned by all; why shy away from the title of 'Third Place Scholar'?" The three laughed heartily. Zhang Sheng, feeling embarrassed, grabbed the two women and leaped off his horse. He gently placed them on the ground and whispered, "I was reckless on the battlefield; I have offended you greatly." The two women blushed and remained silent. Zhang Sheng thanked Xu Gongdao and his father for their hospitality, and they all offered their congratulations. The governor sent the two women back to their lodgings with Fei Bao, saying there would be other things to discuss the next day. He also sent some wine and food to the Wang family father and son. Meanwhile, he ordered a banquet to be prepared to celebrate Zhang Sheng's victory. Zhang Sheng secretly instructed Zhang Zhong and Zhang Yi to send two tables of wine to Wang Feibao's residence, saying, "My lord offended someone on the battlefield and wished to apologize, but the governor is drinking and cannot leave. I have prepared a simple meal and wine, which I have sent by my servants. I hope Your Highness will accept it." Wang thanked the messengers and accepted the wine. That night, he said to his two daughters, "He is a truly kind and benevolent hero. My defeat is still bearable, but you two, one with a string of arrows, managed to stop the phoenix from taking its head, and the other with a flying claw, managed to snatch it. If you had used all your strength, not only my father and I, but three more would have perished. Yet he remains so humble and courteous; truly one in a million." The two daughters said in unison, "He is indeed a hero of both literary and martial prowess, and of both courage and affection." Wang Feibao wanted to marry his daughter to Zhang Sheng, but he did not know his daughters' feelings, nor whether Zhang Sheng was already engaged, nor who would be willing to marry him. The two sisters also had this intention, but neither dared to speak of it. They nodded in understanding but did not say anything. However, they did not know that the two gentlemen had already expressed this intention and asked Zhang Sheng if he was already engaged. Zhang Sheng said, "Only those with both literary and martial talents can be married, provided there is a prior agreement." He Xu immediately understood. The next day, Wang Feibao personally knocked on the gate. The gatekeeper announced his arrival, and Governor He entered. Wang Feibao knelt and said, "I, Wang Feibao, did not consider my abilities and came to offer myself, but now I know my talents are meager and I am unfit for important tasks. Therefore, I have come to take my leave and return home. I dare not act rashly, please let me go." Governor He said, "You have come a thousand miles to offer yourself; how can you return empty-handed? Yesterday's battle was merely to assess your abilities and determine your rank. I had no other intention. I will soon send troops to aid Liaodong, and I intend to rely on you as my vanguard. Once you have rendered meritorious service, I will submit a petition and appoint you to a high position. I will certainly not let your visit be in vain." Wang Feibao said, "With someone like Zhang Sheren here, what attack cannot be won?" "We were defeated in battle, and my father and I are now defeated generals. How can we be of service again? We only beg Your Excellency to grant us permission to return home. We would be deeply grateful for your kindness." Governor He said, "Zhang Sheren is one of my most outstanding students, skilled in both literature and martial arts, and possessing both kindness and courage. Although he defeated you and your father, he truly praised your talents to me and the Grand Master. We cannot afford to lose such a capable general. You need not refuse. Going to aid Liaodong, repelling the captives, and restoring Liaodong will surely bring you a title of nobility in no time. This is the perfect opportunity to establish your merits and achievements. Do not miss this chance." Seeing the sincerity in Governor He's words, Wang Feibao had no choice but to agree. Governor He then asked, "Are your two daughters betrothed?" Wang Feibao replied, "My daughters have a prior wish: they must be of equal talent and ability before marriage. They are currently unmarried." Governor He asked, "What about Zhang Sheren yesterday?" Wang Feibao replied, "He is a noble young man, skilled in both literature and martial arts. How could my daughters dare to aspire to such a high position?" Governor He said, "Zhang Sheren also has a wish: he must be of equal talent and ability before marriage. After yesterday's battle, he greatly praised your daughter's exceptional qualities and expressed considerable admiration. I have discussed this with Master Xu and will consult you before finalizing this marriage." Wang Feibao thanked Governor He and returned to his residence, where he told his two daughters what had happened. The two daughters lowered their heads and remained silent. Meanwhile, Governor He sent men to meet with General Xu, who arrived at the Zhang family residence in a sedan chair. Zhang Sheng and his son hurriedly donned their official robes to greet them. After tea, Governor He discussed the matter of matchmaking. Father Zhang asked whose family they were, and the two gentlemen, He and Xu, replied in unison, "They are the two girls who competed yesterday. I think they are both talented and beautiful, and are worthy of your marriage, sir." Father Zhang said, "That won't do. They are daughters of commoners from afar, while I am the son of a noble family. We are of different social classes and rank, so how can we discuss marriage?" Gentleman Xu laughed loudly, "Old sir, you are mistaken. Your son has a wish to marry only someone of equal talent. Where else can you find such a match besides these two girls? Moreover, Wang Feibao said that his daughter has also sworn not to marry Kang Fu. In this light, isn't this a match made in heaven? Furthermore, your son is exceptional in both literature and martial arts, and will surely be able to contribute to the world. Having such a wife is truly a blessing for the family and a sign of the nation's prosperity. You are a remarkable man of this world, why follow the rigid views of common scholars? Throughout history, many heroes have risen from humble beginnings. When a prince leads troops to aid Liaodong, the bestowal of titles and honors is a matter of course. Besides, the Wang family of Taiyuan is an old and respected family. And the two girls are not of ordinary appearance either." "A good match is hard to come by, how can we let this opportunity slip by?" Governor He said, "That's absolutely right, Zhang Gong, don't be so stubborn." Upon hearing this, Zhang Gong agreed, saying, "Since I have received your orders, I will obey." Lu Xun once criticized the novels of talented scholars and beautiful women, saying that the authors' original intention was merely to publish a few erotic poems. In classical erotic novels, erotic poems are practically useless, so this situation is inevitable. The poems in the novels of talented scholars and beautiful women are much more obscene than those in erotic novels. This is just my humble opinion; if you don't believe me, you can verify it yourself. In the following chapter, the author proudly presents six poems, which is a real pain for me as the typist. My hands are tired, and I have to endure the awkward sentences. If I were to use a word like "abbreviated," the article would inevitably lose its original form, and I would have to add a supplement later. Therefore, I had to spend more time typing it out. That's all for my rant. Please stop reading now. Chapter 3: Zhong Zizhi cleverly sets up a maze, and Zhang Sheng mistakenly enters A Dou City. On that day, Zhang's father agreed to the arrangement. He asked, "He has two daughters, and I only have one son. Should I marry the elder and the younger?" Governor He replied, "Yesterday your son captured two horses; you should marry both of them." Xu Gong said, "What you say is absolutely right, sir." Zhang Hong asked, "How should we go and tell them?" Governor He said, "No problem, I have my own plan." He took his leave of Zhang Hong and went to the mansion to instruct the patrol officers to summon a matchmaker. After a short while, the matchmaker arrived, kowtowed, and Governor He gave her some instructions. The matchmaker then went to Wang Feibao's residence to explain her purpose. Wang Feibao asked, "Are you referring to the eldest daughter or the second daughter?" The matchmaker replied, "Why did you send me to the main hall? Both young ladies were asked to marry by Master Zhang yesterday. Marrying the eldest would be difficult for the second, and marrying the second would be disrespectful to the eldest. Since they are of similar birth, we should marry both of them to complete the important life events for your two daughters. We hope Your Highness will grant the request to marry your two daughters to Shun, just as Yao did." Wang Feibao said, "Your instructions are very reasonable, but marriage is a lifelong matter. I wonder what the sisters think. Please ask them for my opinion so we can discuss it." The matchmaker went in to meet the two young ladies and recounted the whole story. The two girls said, "How can women make decisions about marriage? We will leave it to our father." The matchmaker relayed this to Feibao, who had no choice but to agree. The Zhang family chose a day to send the betrothal gifts. Soon after, the double peacock screens were opened, and the house was filled with congratulatory guests. The two gentlemen, He and Xu, each contributed to the dowry and accompanied Fei Bao to the bride's home. Fei Bao displayed the two women's double hammers and double swords in a row at the front. Zhang Hong and his wife, dressed in their official robes, welcomed the brides to the hall, where the two brides emerged from their sedan chairs. Their appearances were quite different from those on the battlefield. One woman, Nüying, had delicate, arched eyebrows and a fragrant face, like a fairy descended to earth; the other, Nüjie, was exceptionally beautiful, with striking features, like a fairy gathering herbs. A poem praised the two women's beauty: "The gentle breeze whispers among the lotus leaves, the bright sun shines as birds sing in harmony; they are no less beautiful than the two Xiangling maidens, a pair of beauties capable of captivating a nation." With the two women on either side and Zhang Sheng in the center, after the ceremony, they were led to the bridal chamber. The musicians withdrew, and the three removed their ceremonial robes and sat down. Zhang Sheng said, "I was reckless on the battlefield and startled my two virtuous wives." The two women replied, "We are deeply grateful for your mercy in sparing our lives, having offended your might. We are also deeply grateful for your kindness in allowing us to serve as your subordinates. We are truly fortunate to be alive." Zhang Sheng said, "We each had our own reasons for choosing our spouses, and now that we have met, it is no small matter. The time has come; please, my virtuous wives, ascend the throne." He rose to remove Yingjie's hair and invited him to the bed. Yingjie hesitated. Zhang Sheng, overcome with passion, rushed to the bed and immediately...Clouds and rain. Ying yielded to Jie, Jie yielded to Ying. Zhang Sheng said, "My two wives are sisters, let's proceed in turn." Jie covered her head with the quilt and went to sleep. Zhang pulled Ying to her side, unzipped her pants and pressed her against him, seeing skin like solidified cream, and flesh protruding from her breasts. He saw a narrow opening, and a fragrant scent wafted from her chest and arms. Sheng was very fond of her, embraced Ying and kissed her tongue. Ying lay on her back, not daring to move, Sheng quickly opened her legs, and Ying grabbed his feet. Sheng opened them again, Ying's heart pounded, and she whispered, "You're so scary." Sheng also covered her ear and said, "I won't make you suffer." Then he opened her legs with his hands, and her legs parted. Sheng held a green duster and shoveled it, Ying sprinkled it on her bud with her hands. Sheng worried that she couldn't bear it, so he moistened it with saliva. Ying was a virgin, and had never been penetrated. And Zhang Sheng's green duster was the best of the best, and she couldn't resist the temptation. Sheng added more saliva, moistening her buds with sweetness, and then took the lead and thrust in. Ying, in a desperate embrace, seemed unable to bear it any longer. Zhang gently pried open her orifice with his fingers, then moistened her with saliva. Ying bit her quilt to endure it, but Zhang took a small amount from her nipple and applied it, until the bedding was covered in a bloody red stain. Zhang then gently shook her with a little more saliva, but the saliva dried up again, and her nipple seemed to burst open. Zhang then moistened her nipple with saliva, and the delicate nipple and flower relaxed slightly. Taking advantage of a brief opening, Zhang thrust again, but Ying thought it was too violent and began to weep. Zhang covered her mouth, afraid that others would hear. The bloody stain receded to her trousers, and Ying's cries fell silent. Zhang then added more saliva, which swelled inside and out, and slowly moved closer. He brought a little closer, mostly wetting her head, and rubbing her scalp. Ying felt a little relieved at this moment and pretended to open her eyes to look closely. As he moved away, he suddenly brought in a little more. Ying was extremely haggard and whispered, "Please do it tomorrow." Sheng replied, "Even if I cannot cross the river by boat now, I wish to cross the pass in armor. Can you bear to endure me any longer?" Ying gritted her teeth and endured it. Halfway through, Ying said, "No movement." Sheng continued to move, and Ying's mouth throbbed with pain. As the movement continued, her insides became slightly moist, and she became aroused and wanted to ejaculate, but he forced halfway, unable to penetrate, and the movement became more rapid. Ying saw Sheng rushing around frantically, not knowing what to do, but her body was completely inside her. She was extremely frightened and distressed, suffering endlessly, and occasionally cried out, but then she persevered. Sheng had been rushing around for a long time, and she felt the green dust growing huge, stretching for half an acre. Her neck could hardly bear the pain of pushing against the walls and seizing the stronghold. Suddenly, sweet dew descended and nectar rose, and the raging flames of the fire wheel vanished in an instant. Ying said, "What should I do for my sister?" Zhang said, "I can hold off three sides by myself. How can I let her be lonely?" He then went to invade Jie. Jie saw Zhang Shengxing, so gentle and kind, and her heart stirred with desire. Yet, she was suddenly overcome by a mixture of love and fear, her body almost unable to move. She could only grit her teeth and push herself away. Shengxing pulled back the covers, refusing her advances with both hands. Shengxing said, "We travel directly from the Ziwu Valley to Chang'an, witnessing firsthand the majesty of Han officials. Why do you refuse to let me in?" He pulled back the covers and entered, spurring his horse into the Hongmen Pass. Jie, flustered, said to Shengxing, "My lord, send out your elite troops to attack! I'm about to burn my boats to cross the river!" Shengxing said, "How about a 'backwater' formation?" Jie said, "The daytime battle is scheduled; now, you can act as a spy." Half-heartedly resisting, her heart pounding, she went along, feeling both welcome and reluctance, her soul trembling. The man, lusting after the woman, almost broke free, while the woman, fearing the man's prowess, begged to rein in her horse. It was truly: Never before had she understood the Flower Pass, and upon arriving, the night and day were cold. Jie cried out softly a few times, and remained silent until dawn. The three slept together under one pillow. The sun had already risen high in the east, and the rosy clouds shone through the window. Their harmonious marriage thereafter goes without saying. Why Wang Feibao was recommended by the two gentlemen and appointed as the Tianjin military commander based on his martial prowess is another story. Zheng Xiong, having received this news, abandoned his plan to take Tianjin. But enough of this digression. Let us speak of a scholar in Tianjin named Zhong Tunan, courtesy name Liuhe. He was well-versed in Confucianism and Mencius, and skilled in martial arts like Sun Tzu and Wu Qi. Handsome and refined, he valued integrity, understood the times, and was self-satisfied with his refined taste. He was no different from Song Yu, Sima Xiangru, or Han Yi. Furthermore, he was wealthy and powerful, spending money like water and having many followers, much like Lord Mengchang. He was extremely fond of the south wind, and once he had tasted it, he would do everything in his power to achieve his desires. Since the day he saw Zhang Sheng win three victories and marry two women, Zhong Sheng privately sighed, "Such beauty, such talent, and such strength! Our region has such a fine specimen; it's truly a rare commodity." He then devised a plan: "This man is dashing and charming, but the ravages of time are inevitable. I have a small literary reputation; I'll go to him out of admiration, and he'll surely succeed in my plan." So he prepared gifts and went to congratulate Zhang Sheng. Zhang Sheng, knowing he was a renowned scholar, straightened his clothes and came out to greet him. Zhong Sheng said, "I have long admired your name; it's like a thunderclap in spring. To be able to meet you today is a great honor." Zhang Sheng said, "I am honored by your kindness. I apologize for not welcoming you properly." After tea, they were served wine, and parted in high spirits. The next day, Zhang Sheng returned with his servant to pay his respects. Zhong Sheng was overjoyed and said, "Brother Zhang, your arrival is perfectly timed! Six young ladies came to visit me, and I was just about to send someone to invite them. Your presence has delighted me greatly." He then called the ladies to join him. They introduced themselves. One was Yan Hanxing, another Huang Haitang, another Tao Youhua, another Zuo Xianglan, another Jin Jinlian, and another Lihua Peng—all famous courtesans of Tianjin. Zhang Sheng, observing them closely, found each one stunningly beautiful, each a natural beauty. Then, delicacies were laid out, and golden goblets were filled with wine. Zhang Sheng almost forgot he was in the world. After becoming intoxicated, the six women asked for his opinion. Zhang Sheng, in high spirits, composed a line of poetry for each, presented them with a song, and inscribed it on a fan. (Omitted) Presented to Yan Hanxing with Apricot Blossom: The goddess descends from the balcony in vain, Erlang Shen's literary talent shines through. Fragrant blossoms in the middle of spring, like a rosy cloud. The branches protect the eyes, naturally vibrant, their beauty beyond description. The goddess does not climb the wall, her beauty shines on the balcony. She herself is wrapped in dew in the upper forest, how can those heartless bees and butterflies be so easily jealous? Presented to Huang Haitang with Crabapple Blossom: The oriole flies over the crabapple blossom, the oriole's spring colors reveal its fragrance. Her skin is like jade, lightly rouged. Facing the wind, I try on my new makeup; the moon shines brightly on the crabapple blossoms. Cherries, like golden bullets, hang like silken threads. Today, in this desolate place, it is not in vain that the envoy from Jinjiang came to seek flowers, moved by a kind of lightness. I present a peach blossom to match the peach blossoms; the peach blossoms and the face of the person reflect each other's redness, like the golden osmanthus by the river. I only thought Wuling Creek was far away, how could I know it was right before my eyes? Just this one flower in the gate, all the other flowers are inferior. Why need the ten thousand trees in Wang Cave be fresh? I am ashamed of my meager share of the river wind; how fortunate I am to have been captivated by Liu and Ruan in three lifetimes. My heart is happy to be joined with you, but the pain of parting is suddenly spoken. The willows sway golden; I wish to see you again next year, and when we meet again next year, your beauty will not be diminished. I present a orchid to Zuo Xianglan to match the orchid; the beauty of the woman is as delicate as a flower, and the delicate fetus of Niannu is filled with tears. Compared to the usual beauty, the famous flower is uniquely pure and strange. Where it dances in the wind and sun, its fragrance lingers and clings to my clothes. I only wish to be a ginseng, not to hide among the grass. Few know the secluded ravine, surpassing even Guanyin, truly possessing all the splendor. The jade hibiscus, even more so, should be known, its fame in the Golden Valley fittingly fitting. A golden lotus paired with a lotus flower, a red skirt vying to see the green-clad young man, the fragrant willow maiden admiring her elegant attire, requesting a taste of wonder. Emerging from the soil, yet untouched by its muddy appearance. The poppy, adorning the green shade, bringing spring in the nine summers, dancing in the gentle breeze, its fragrance carried for ten miles, a beautiful sister's shy charm. Even if it loses to the sixth prince, Zhu Nu'er, treading on the waves, endless longing remains. He Xinlang, entrusting the orchid boat, the immortal guest lightly rows the oars, fearing it might easily diminish the red blossoms. A pear blossom paired with the moon, upright against the window railing, a cluster of moonlight, locking the cold window in its distance. The flowers do not compete in spirit. Closing the heavy doors, its flavor is genuine. Casting a pale moon, a dream of cold, idle clouds, snow diminishes its slenderness, frost loses to its tender leaves, inferior in quality. Fragrance containing jade essence, sought between man and moon. The poem of Lun Yuan, mistakenly given to another. After finishing the letter, he wrote it without hesitation, presenting it to everyone in admiration. Zhong Sheng read it and said, "A prodigy, surpassing even the Yuan dynasty masters." He then drank heartily. The third watch of the night had passed when Zhang Sheng took his leave. Zhong Zi said, "A talented man and a beautiful woman, perfect company, how can you bear to leave?" Zhang Sheng gladly accepted and stayed in Zhong Zi's study. Indeed: wine doesn't intoxicate, people intoxicate themselves; beauty doesn't bewitch, people bewitch themselves. Zhong Zi set up a bed for six concubines to accompany him, then took his leave. The six concubines took turns flattering him, and Zhang Sheng was almost overwhelmed. When it was over, Pear Blossom Moon offered a cup of hot wine to enhance the festivities. Zhang Sheng drank it all in one gulp, then felt dizzy and fell asleep on his pillow. This was Zhong Sheng's own intoxicating wine. When Zhong Sheng arrived, he found Zhang Sheng fast asleep, unresponsive to his calls or shakes, so he dismissed the six concubines. He undressed and lay down on the bed, touching it with his hand; it was warm and smooth like jade. Reaching the dragon's yang point, it was moist and glistening. Zhong Zi was greatly alarmed, saying, "This thing should be here." Then he thought, "That's it! He's been with six concubines; even if it's just lustful semen, he's using this thing as a prelude, not saliva." He then probed the opening with his hand, finding it quite interesting. He bent down and entered, lifting his wicked root; it was slippery and easy to insert. He thrust hard. Zhang Sheng stirred in his sleep, and Zhong Zi quickly stopped, but Zhang Sheng fell asleep again. Zhong Zi added saliva, moistened the opening with his fingers, and then rubbed the wicked root, lifting himself up. With a forceful thrust, he was already halfway there. Seeing that Zhang Sheng didn't move, he thrust again, both times reaching the root, pumping and thrusting wildly, Zhang Sheng seemingly unaware. Zhong Zi said, "Well, at least it's good enough.""Even if I die happy, I'll be content with this pleasure." Taking advantage of the situation, he pushed Zhang Sheng around. Zhang Sheng, intoxicated by the bewitching wine, still believed in his dream that a woman was seducing him, so he followed the push and turned around. Although he wanted to, he couldn't break free. Zhong Zi, with a gag in his mouth, rushed forward, heading straight for Zhang Sheng's "dragon's den," running wildly and thrusting about a thousand times. It felt as if something was coming from inside Zhang Sheng's buttocks. Zhong Zi used all his strength to dart around like a shuttle. In his drunken dream, Zhang Sheng's body was out of control. It felt as if insects were burrowing inside his buttocks. It felt like they were pricking him from the outside, but he couldn't let go from the inside. He swayed uncontrollably, groaning. His waist swayed, his buttocks trembled, his hands clung to him. His bones felt loose, his heart pounded, and his spirit was terrified. He breathed lightly, his feet relaxed, and he was so exhausted that he almost didn't know whether he was male or female. Zhong Zi's heart pounded and his spirit was shaken. His yang essence overflowed, and he was about to die of pleasure. He didn't let his wicked penis out of his body and fell asleep tightly embracing her. At the fifth watch, the effects of the drug subsided slightly, and Zhang Sheng awoke. He realized that the person he was holding was not a woman, and that there was something stuck in his anus. Knowing he had been tricked, he pushed her away, rolled over, jumped up, threw on his clothes, and left the bed. His anus was soaked with vaginal fluid. He roared angrily, "How dare you provoke me! Do you think my sword is useless?" He grabbed the sword hanging on the wall and prepared to kill Zhong Zi. Zhongzi, startled, quickly put on his clothes, got out of bed, and knelt down, pleading, "No need to be angry. I wish to cut off my head to vent your hatred and fulfill my wish." Zhang Sheng, seeing that he showed no fear and spoke calmly, asked, "What do you mean?" Zhongzi replied, "I truly admire your talent and beauty, brother. I wish to smell your fragrance, and I would die willingly. That's why I came to your door to pay my respects and invite you to be with me, all to fulfill this desire. Now that my wish has been fulfilled, please cut off my head to atone for my sins. Let the world and future generations know that I, Zhongzi, was willing to lose my life for love, and that I, Zhang Sheng, was executed for losing my chastity. It is not that we are strangers, but we can both be immortalized in the world. I am not unaware of your fierce power, brother Zhang, and that touching you would surely lead to death. But my initial desire had already broken the life-or-death barrier, and we had not discussed this until today." He offered his neck to die without the slightest fear. Zhang Sheng threw down his sword and sighed, "It was my fault for lightly coming here and falling into your trap. How can a man who has been defiled by a woman stand between heaven and earth?" After speaking, several tears streamed down his face. Zhong Zi said, "I made a single mistake, which has defiled your body. Reflecting on it calmly, I deserve to die. I hope you will not grieve, brother. I am willing to die to atone for your sins." After saying this, he picked up his sword and was about to commit suicide. Zhang Sheng quickly grabbed him and said, "Things have come to this. What good will death do you? You are a commoner. Death is a word, but some are as heavy as Mount Tai, while others are as light as a feather. You are risking your life for a moment of pleasure. Why do you despise your own body?" Zhong Zi said, "No, my brother is talented in both literature and martial arts, and handsome beyond compare. To have met you would be worth nine deaths without regret. Now that our love is fulfilled, even if I die, it will be as if I live. Why can't I die?" Zhang said, "Brother, you are a true man of feeling. Although I am a man, I am willing to be your concubine." Zhong Zi bowed and thanked him. Zhang replied, and they took hands and slept together, with no more suspicion between them. In the fourth chapter, the two good friends of Qishan were separated and presented to the capital. A chance encounter solidified the bond between Zhong and Zhang, and the suspicions surrounding them vanished. Afterwards, whether one came to the other or went to the other, their hearts were united, unwavering. During the autumn examinations, Zhong and Zhang passed together. Just as they were about to go to the capital for the metropolitan examination, Governor He sent someone to invite them. Zhang hurriedly went to see Governor He. Governor He said, "Your father-in-law was sent to Xiangshan, but he was unfamiliar with the terrain and was led into a dangerous area by the enemy. He has been trapped there for over twenty days. We just received an urgent dispatch from the Ningfu military governor. I wanted to send troops to rescue him, but the generals are not up to the task. I would like to trouble you, my worthy friend, to go. Also, Shi Guanhua is here. How should this matter be resolved?" Zhang said, "Fame and fortune are minor matters. How can I not rescue my family? Father, you need not worry. I will go home to bid you farewell, and with my wife, we will lead troops to Ningfu to rescue him." Governor He was overjoyed. Zhang returned to his parents and told them what had happened. His parents said, "Support is urgent, time is of the essence, act quickly and without delay." The next day, he and his wife went to the training ground, where the two gentlemen, He and Xu, held a farewell banquet for him. Zhang Sheng accepted the military seal and sword, ordering his two wives to lead the troops ahead and wait ten miles away. Meanwhile, Zhong Zi was preparing to travel north with Zhang when Zhang Zhong suddenly arrived at the mansion, saying, "The prince is trapped, and it is my duty to rescue him. The military situation is urgent, and we cannot delay any longer. The two gentlemen, He and Xu, held a farewell banquet at the pavilion, and I did not have time to say goodbye in person. I urge you, sir, to take care on your journey north." He seemed disappointed, and knowing that the governor and the general were holding a farewell banquet, he did not want to interrupt the feast, so he hurriedly ordered his family to prepare a farewell banquet twenty miles away. After waiting for a long time, suddenly they saw banners fluttering, and a troop of soldiers swarming in: a murderous aura rolled up the dust, and faint red clouds reflected on the green moss. Ten miles away, they heard the sound of halberds and armor, and a mountain of soldiers emerged from the ground. Zhong Sheng sent someone to in
