Knight's Bloodline

    page views:1  Publication date:2023-03-24
I originally intended to post this in the long-form serial, but I found my screen size had dropped to 1 inch, so I can only post it here.
"The Bloodline of the Knight" by Lan Jing (Blood Coral) is an author I greatly admire. She has written many excellent works, including "The Magic Thief," "The Magic Warrior," and "The Magic Apprentice." For some reason, this time she wrote an erotic novel. I'm posting it here for everyone to see.
The first volume of "The Bloodline of the Knight" by Blood Coral:
The preface
is similar to the Napoleonic Wars. A new empire is rising, and the continent is on the verge of a power redistribution.
This new empire annexes and wins over a number of countries, forming the Norman Union.
Other countries on the continent seek to unite, planning to form another alliance—the Dante Union.
The protagonist's country, the Republic of Münstok, is a relatively strong democratic nation. It has become the next target of the Norman Union.
While resisting, the Republic of Münstok seeks aid from other countries, striving to promote the formation of the Dante Union.
The story begins just as the negotiations are about to begin.

In this book, the army's combat power is divided into high-end and low-end. The low-end consists of soldiers, using weapons from the Napoleonic era, while the high-end comprises knights and mind-controllers.
Warfare has entered the era of firearms, but knights remain the main force. Ordinary soldiers are only used for defense and occupation.
As high-end force, knights are the true main force, while mind-controllers play only a supporting role, occasionally intervening.
Knights fight in small groups, using armor as their weapon.
This armor is a magically powered weapon, weighing from six or seven hundred kilograms to five or six tons, possessing magically powered tendons, and is usually transported by a special vehicle.
Knights are chosen through bloodline inheritance; the protagonist unexpectedly inherits this bloodline, but his parents do not have knightly blood, raising questions about his origins.

Chapter One: Bloodline Awakening .
A light drizzle fell from the gray sky, pedestrians hurried by, umbrellas offering little protection as the rain danced in the wind, soaking everything.
Soldiers stood every five or six meters on the towering city walls, pitifully exposed to the rain. Many more huddled helplessly in corners, where makeshift shelters offered little protection from the damp, chilly wind.
To keep warm, the soldiers lit small fires.
The firewood was all from shards of furniture, many pieces brand new, yet no one seemed to care.
This was wartime.
A sergeant wearing a straw raincoat patrolled back and forth. Suddenly, he stopped and yelled at a group of soldiers huddled around a fire, "Move the gunpowder barrels further away! Are you looking to die?! If you set that thing on fire, we're all done for!"
"Yes, sir!" "Yes, sir!" The soldiers scrambled to their feet.
The sergeant felt a little better, but his face immediately hardened again. Seven or eight muskets were leaning against the city wall, soaked by the rain streaming down.
"Damn it! Guns are your lives! You don't even care about your lives?"
The sergeant's furious shouts were jarring in the light rain.

This city was called Glaslova, the third largest city in the Lavor Province of the Republic of Monstok, a large city indeed, but the area enclosed by the city walls wasn't very wide.
After all, Grasslova was merely a commercial city, neither a military stronghold nor a capital, so it didn't need heavy defenses.
Yet, even in such a commercial city, fear gripped the city.
Outside the towering city walls, the once bustling commercial streets were now deserted, and the once crowded squares were now teeming with stray dogs.
These walls existed six centuries ago, when Grasslova was first built. Over the years, successive mayors had considered demolishing them. However, intermittent wars ultimately allowed the walls to survive.
With the passage of time, the area enclosed by these walls became the oldest part of Grasslova, last renovated two centuries ago. The streets were narrow, the houses close together, and the inhabitants mostly possessed some property, but weren't particularly wealthy.
Now, however, most of Grasslova's 250,000 inhabitants had moved here.
Of the entire old town, only the Garden Street on the west side remained somewhat neat and tidy; this area had now been requisitioned by various departments of Grasslova.
On the top floor of a four-story building, Colonel Marvin looked out through a narrow skylight. The gray sky perfectly matched his mood.
The colonel glanced at the person standing behind him, then at the note on the table.
Just a few hours earlier, the theater command had sent this man, along with a vehicleload of injections and this order from the theater command.
"Captain Schurant, I want to hear the truth. Is what you brought truly a vaccine to prevent the plague?" the colonel asked. In principle, as a soldier, he shouldn't ask such a question. He dared to ask only because he was certain the man behind him would never betray him.
“Since you’ve already guessed…” Captain Shulan sighed. He could have remained silent, or lied, but he couldn’t do that to his former superior. He could only tell the truth: “The official name of these drugs is X23. It’s the most commonly used muscle growth agent. After using it, it can rapidly catalyze muscle growth and increase the speed of metabolism. Frontline medics often inject this drug into wounded soldiers to help their wounds heal quickly.”
Although he said this, the captain felt uneasy.
Everyone knew that this drug wasn’t for ordinary people. While it would bring many benefits to ordinary people, it came at the cost of their lives.
Injecting a standard unit of X23 could increase a person’s physical strength two to four times in a short period, making them less prone to fatigue, able to work overtime, and less susceptible to injury, increasing their survival rate on the battlefield several times over.
However, within ten years, this person would suffer from vascular embolism, muscle atrophy, and rapid aging; almost no one could live past twenty years.
After thinking for a long time, the colonel seemed to have made up his mind. He turned around, put away the order on the table, and wrote a new note.
After finishing writing, the colonel put down his pen, sprinkled some sawdust on the paper to absorb the ink, and then called in his adjutant.
"This is an order from the war zone command. To prevent an outbreak of plague, all seriously wounded patients in the infirmary must be vaccinated."
