Dreaming Back to the Martial World, Volume 1: Chapter 1
The morning sunlight filtered through the trees, and a glistening drop of dew slid slowly down the veins of a leaf,
pausing briefly at its edge before gracefully departing.
One drop, two drops… Finally, Li Lang was awakened by the cool dew. He struggled to open his aching
eyelids, brushing aside the withered leaves and twigs covering him.
Li Lang stood up, stretched languidly, and a jolt of electric shock shot through his muscles
, making him unsteady and causing him to slump back down. His back slammed heavily against the trunks of several small trees,
causing the dew on the leaves to rain down.
The cool dew refreshed Li Lang's mind. His long-cultivated professional instincts prompted him
to observe his surroundings.
He found himself on a flat area halfway up a mountain, about the size of half a football field. The area was overgrown
with knee-high weeds and low shrubs, with a few broad-leaved trees, no more than four or five meters tall, sparsely growing on
the side facing the mountain. A dark green helicopter sat silently beside a patch of bushes, its metallic exterior reflecting a deep gleam
in the morning sunlight . Seeing the helicopter, Li Lang finally recalled what had happened the previous night. The pursuing planes had fired two missiles at him, while his own plane had launched two guided missiles, which then exploded. He had estimated that , given the performance of his aircraft, shaking off the pursuing planes would have been a piece of cake. However, after the explosion, lightning somehow struck the clouds , and his plane seemed to have been hit by lightning, causing all the electrical instruments and radar to malfunction. He then struggled to make an emergency landing, having no recollection of how he got out of the plane and collapsed unconscious. Recalling the events of the previous night, Li Lang shuddered. Ignoring his aches and pains, his immediate priority was to contact his unit. Otherwise, if he fell into the hands of the pursuing military police, charges of murdering an officer, resisting arrest, and hijacking an aircraft would be enough to execute him without even a trial. Li Lang returned to the plane, turned on the radio, tuned to the special forces' dedicated channel, and sent a coded signal to his unit. As usual, a reply should have been received within minutes. However, this time, half an hour passed, and the helmet communicator only emitted a static tone. Li Lang curiously turned on the radar, but there was still no signal; it was as quiet as if all radio waves had been blocked. Li Lang simply turned on the communicator and called out, "Headquarters, Headquarters. This is Li Lang from the Third Squad. Please respond." But the communicator only produced the same unchanging static. Li Lang was puzzled. "Damn it, I'm using the full-frequency signal this time! Even if the team can't receive it, the base should be able to , right? How come I haven't even received a single message telling me to surrender immediately?" After waiting for about half an hour, Li Lang's stomach rumbled. Having not eaten or drunk anything all night, he got up and took a box of compressed biscuits and some water from the supply box in the cabin. He decided that if he still couldn't get a signal after eating , he would leave. At least he needed to figure out where he was and find a way to contact the squadron. As for the plane, he'd leave it there for now. The compressed biscuits were as hard as wood, neither tasty nor delicious. But after a night of hunger, even compressed biscuits tasted like a delicacy. He wolfed down five matchbox-sized biscuits , and after soaking them in water, his stomach felt a little bloated. The communicator still emitted only a static, and the radar remained completely silent. Li Lang finally decided not to wait any longer. He went into the cockpit, opened all the weapon cases, and planned to select a few items to wear. He had flown at least two or three hundred kilometers last night, and the surrounding area was all primeval forest. If he encountered a bear or wild boar, he wouldn't be able to win with just his fists. "Wow! It's just an exercise, does it need to be this elaborate?" Li Lang was immediately stunned by the dazzling array of weapons. There were large ones like submachine guns, sniper rifles, and rocket launchers, and smaller ones like Desert Eagles and high-explosive grenades. Such a large supply of weapons and ammunition could almost allow a small squad to complete a combat mission to eliminate a drug lord's base, and a frontal assault at that. Li Lang reached for two Desert Eagles and four magazines, and finally picked up an alloy dagger and tucked it into his thigh . After disembarking, Li Lang sighed heavily, dragged out a large net to cover the plane, cut some branches to cover the net, set the password on the electronic lock on the plane door, and turned to leave. ******************************** With a 'bang,' a wild boar let out a miserable cry and collapsed into a pool of blood. Li Lang emerged from behind a tree , kicked the boar's lifeless body, tucked his pistol into his waistband, and muttered to himself, "This damn place , two days and not a soul in sight. I'm not eating biscuits today, I'll have roast meat to improve my meals." He reached out and lifted the boar, which weighed at least fifty or sixty pounds, onto his back, pulled out a compass from his pocket to check the direction, and continued walking. Carrying the wild boar, Li Lang trudged through the dense forest along a path trodden by herb gatherers. Hearing the faint sound of flowing water in the distance, he was delighted, thinking he could find a stream or spring to skin and gut the boar. But as soon as he turned a corner, Li Lang was shocked. After wandering the mountains for days, he finally encountered people. Two women approached. What surprised Li Lang was their unusual attire —not jeans, casual wear, and high heels, but… ancient costumes! "Actresses? Stars? Filming? Their film crew must be nearby," Li Lang thought. He stood still, quietly watching the two 'actresses' walk towards him. The two 'actresses' also looked at him strangely as they slowly approached.

As they approached, Li Lang was truly stunned: "Where did they find such elegant
stars? It's a pity they found such beauties; it's such a shame they're in the entertainment industry."
One woman was taller, wearing a moon-white long dress, with flowing, cloud-like black hair
. Her delicate oval face was lightly made up. She had clear, large eyes, arched willow-leaf eyebrows,
a delicate nose, and cherry-like lips, with a natural smile playing on her lips. The other woman was about half a head shorter, also with a rosy
, smooth, and charming face. Her soft, arched eyebrows were lighter near the center and darker towards the back.
Below her bright, sparkling eyes was a smooth, jade-like nose and rosy cherry-like lips.
She wore a bright green, double-breasted skirt, over which she wore a floral Shu brocade vest embroidered
with kingfishers on each side—the needlework was clearly authentic.
"What kind of film company is this? Such a big spender! Just the fabric and craftsmanship of these two costumes
must cost at least tens of thousands," Li Lang muttered.
Just as he was thinking this, the two women had already brushed past him. Perhaps his outfit, plus
the wild boar he was carrying, was too stylish, because the woman in green kept turning back to look at him, her face showing an expression of discovering a monster.
"Excuse me, ladies, please wait a moment," Li Lang called out.
The two women had already walked quite a distance, but upon hearing his call, they stopped and turned to look at
him. The woman in the moon-white dress asked, "May I ask what brings you two sisters here, sir?"
"Seriously? So dedicated, still practicing your lines at a time like this?" Li Lang muttered.
"Well, I wanted to borrow your phones to make a call, because my communication devices seem to
be out of signal, that's all," Li Lang said.
The two women exchanged bewildered glances. "What...phone? What's a telephone?" The woman in green whispered
, "Cousin, what is he saying? Can you understand him?"
The woman in the moon-white dress also whispered, "I don't understand what he's saying either. Cousin, look at his
clothes, could he be a Miao person?"
The woman in green whispered, "No, he's not Miao. No branch of the Miao people dress like that. Cousin
, look, he's coming."
Li Lang approached the two women and said, "I mean no harm. Can I borrow your phones for a moment?"
The two women exchanged bewildered glances again, and after a while, the woman in white said, "We don't know
what you mean, sir. Please forgive us, we cannot help you."
"Really? If you two don't have phones, how far is your film set from here? I can
go with you to your film set to borrow a phone," Li Lang said.
The woman in white coldly said, "I'm sorry, brother. My sister and I have other important matters to
attend to and are unable to help you." With that, she turned and left with the woman in green.
"Hey...hey...don't go! I'm not a bad person!" Li Lang hurriedly said.
However, the two women ignored him, quickening their pace and leaving Li Lang far behind, their figures disappearing into the distance
.
"Do I really look like a bad person?" Li Lang said, rubbing his chin in frustration.
"Women these days, especially celebrities, are really good at protecting themselves from predators. If they didn't take me, wouldn't I have
gone with them myself?" Li Lang, carrying the wild boar, followed the footsteps of the two women he thought were 'female celebrities,'
heading towards the 'film crew' he imagined.
Along the way, Li Lang became increasingly frustrated. The two women's footsteps were too light; they barely left any footprints.
If it weren't for his special forces training, he would have almost never been able to track them.
An hour later, Li Lang sat panting on a roadside stone, wiping the sweat from his brow. Carrying the dozens of
kilograms of prey was indeed exhausting. "What kind of world is this? Two delicate women, going for a walk this far away in the middle of
nowhere, are they deliberately trying to attract lecherous men?"
However, he heard several metallic clanging sounds not far ahead. Judging from his experience, it was
the sound of knives clashing. "Finally, I found it." Li Lang perked up and
quickly ran towards the source of the sound, carrying the wild boar.
Turning a corner of the woods, he came to a relatively flat grassy area. The two women he had just encountered stood side by side.
The woman in the moon-white dress held a slender longsword, while the woman in green held a short sword in each hand, coldly
watching a group of people who had surrounded them in a fan shape.
These people were all masked with black cloths, dressed in tight black clothes, and carrying single-edged swords. It was clear that the two women in the middle were
the leaders, surrounding the two women.
A lewd man in black, the leader of the group, said, "Fairy Ge, Miss Tang, you'd better not resist anymore
. My men are all roughnecks who don't know how to be gentle with women. If you try to fight again, you might accidentally
hurt your beautiful faces. It would be a real shame for your delicate skin."
The woman in the moon-white dress, her phoenix eyes flashing with malice, coldly replied, "Don't think that just because you've covered your faces, we
don't know your true colors. When did the people of the Jiangnan Thunderbolt Hall stoop to such a sneaky way?"
The leader of the men in black let out a laugh like an owl and said, "Fairy Ge Ying, you certainly have good eyesight.
You saw through my identity so quickly. Now that you know my identity, please heed my advice and come with
Miss Tang to the Thunderbolt Hall as guests."
"Dream on! You think you can easily capture my sister with just a few of you?"
the woman in the moon-white dress, whom they called Fairy Ge Ying, sneered.
"Exactly, those cowards from the Thunderbolt Hall, all they do is rely on their numbers?" the woman in green sarcastically remarked.
At this moment, another leader of the men in black spoke up. Judging from his voice, he was a young man. He said,
"Stop wasting time talking to them, just take them down."
"Such arrogance! Their skills are so mediocre, yet they're so haughty. I wonder which spoiled brat from the Lei family
they are?" the woman in green mocked.
The young leader of the men in black was enraged and said, "Tang Ling, once I capture you, I'll give you a good beating and
show you what my skills are like. I want to see if you can still put on that act all high and mighty in my bed."
"Show off your power, Miss Tang!"
Tang Ling, the woman in green, roared in anger. "What a foul mouth! I'll tear it apart!" With a flick of her wrist, a
glint of cold light flew from her sleeve, aiming for the face of the young leader of the men in black.
The lewd leader of the men in black beside the young leader deflected Tang Ling's projectile with his knife, cackling,
"Tang Clan projectiles, truly living up to their reputation! Heh heh, Miss Tang, Fairy Ge, since you don't know
what's good for you, then this old man will have no choice but to be ruthless."
He shouted, "Attack them! Take them down!"
A group of men in black rushed forward, brandishing their knives. Ge Ying and Tang Ling brandished their weapons and
engaged the men in battle. Tang Ling's short swords were swift and fierce, with glints of cold light constantly flying from her sleeves. Ge Ying's
moves were light and agile, her figure elusive and graceful, truly living up to her reputation as the "Flying Fairy."
Li Lang, carrying the wild boar, slowly turned around, trying not to disturb their "film set." He peered
around, observing where the "director" and others were. He figured he could simply give the boar to the crew to improve their meals, and
borrowing a phone shouldn't be a problem.
As a result, the "director" didn't notice, but Li Lang was spotted by a man in black patrolling the perimeter. The
man in black pointed a knife at him and demanded, "Who are you? What are you doing sneaking around like this?"
Li Lang chuckled and said, "Ah... sorry, you guys continue, I'll go find your work group."
The young leader of the men in black turned around and saw that Li Lang was strangely dressed and carrying a wild boar on his shoulder. He
mistook him for a local mountain hunter and waved to the man in black who had spotted him, saying, "Don't let anyone know
about us, kill him."
The man in black obeyed and stepped forward, grinning maliciously at Li Lang, "Kid, blame yourself for going to all the wrong places,
running into this place. Remember to open your eyes wider next time." He raised his knife and swung it down at Li Lang's head.
Li Lang's eyes narrowed instantly. This strike was fierce and powerful; if it landed, it would sever him in two.
"This isn't a movie shoot...!"
Li Lang narrowly dodged the incoming blade,
slamming the boar carcass heavily towards the man in black with a whoosh, then assuming a fighting stance.
The man in black kicked the boar away, completely disregarding Li Lang.
He considered Li Lang's use of the boar to throw at him as merely clumsy strength, and Li Lang's fighting stance even more laughable. He swung his
blade at Li Lang's neck, bracing himself for the blood gushing from the severed head.
But Li Lang deftly dodged the blow, his movements unpredictable as he closed in, his right hand precisely grabbing
the man's knife-wielding wrist. He then shoved the man over his shoulder with a powerful over-the-shoulder throw, slamming him to the ground. He followed up
with a kick to the man's waist, sending him flying several meters away, blood spurting from his mouth and nose.
Those fighting inside noticed him. Ge Ying and Tang Ling exchanged a glance, surprised, "How could it be him?"
The young leader of the men in black also noticed him. Seeing his subordinate easily defeated, he cursed him under his breath as
"useless." With a wave of his hands, four more men appeared, surrounding him from four corners.
Li Lang coldly looked at them, drew his short sword, and said in a deep voice, "Have you really lost all sense of law
? Trying to kill and kidnap in broad daylight?"
The leader of the men in black shouted from afar, "Stop wasting your breath on him, kill him!"
One of the men in black leaped up, his long sword slashing diagonally down at him from right to left. Li Lang swiftly swung
his short sword to meet the long sword. With a crisp clang, the long sword in the man in black's hand snapped in two.
The man in black stared in horror at the broken sword in his hand, crying out, "A precious sword!"
"Precious my foot!" Taking advantage of his momentary lapse in attention, Li Lang kicked him hard, sending him flying several meters. Then
, he swung his sword at the other three.
The three men in black met the attack with their swords, and after three loud clashes, they stared in terror at
their broken swords, too afraid to advance further.
The failure of the black-clad men's attack on Li Lang also terrified the group attacking Ge Ying and Tang Ling.
The young leader was stabbed in the left shoulder by Ge Ying's sword, and the lewd leader was shot in the calf by a hidden weapon from Tang Ling
. Seeing no hope of victory, the young leader hurriedly called to his men, helping his companions flee in panic.
Li Lang was still completely bewildered. Ge Ying and Tang Ling sheathed their weapons and came over to thank him: "
Thank you so much for your righteous help earlier, brother. We are deeply grateful."
"Uh...you're welcome. But I'm still a little confused. Could you please explain it to me..." Li Lang
sheathed his short sword and said...
***************************
Over the roaring campfire, the skewered wild boar dripped golden fat from the flames
. Its belly was stuffed with wild herbs, and its skin was lightly salted, emitting an enticing
aroma.
Two women in ancient costumes sat by the campfire, their legs drawn up to their sides, watching Li Lang intently as he flipped
the wild boar. Tang Ling, dressed in green, exaggeratedly sniffed the air, exclaiming, "It smells so good! I never imagined
you were so skilled, brother, that your cooking is amazing too!"
Li Lang smiled, poked the wild boar with his finger, and said, "It's cooked. Sorry to have kept you two ladies waiting
." He then drew his short knife, cut off a foreleg and handed it to Ge Ying, then cut off the other foreleg and handed it to Tang
Ling.
Tang Ling thanked him and took the pig's leg, saying, "Brother, your precious sword can cut through iron like mud; it's truly priceless.
Using it to cut meat, don't you think it's a waste?"
Li Lang chuckled, cut off a piece of meat, took a big bite, and said, "Don't talk about a precious
sword. It's just an ordinary alloy dagger, worth at most a thousand or so yuan. What do you mean 'priceless'?"
He spoke quickly, chewing on the roasted meat, causing the two women to hear "a thousand or so yuan" as "a thousand coins." Tang
Ling exaggeratedly said, "A thousand or so yuan wouldn't even buy one of those ordinary steel knives those good-for-nothings had. Brother
, you're joking. Your precious sword is worth a thousand taels of gold."
"Haha, a thousand taels of gold? Beautiful lady, you're joking..." Li Lang swallowed the roasted meat in his mouth and said again:
"Could you tell me your names?"
Ge Ying, who had been quietly and elegantly eating her grilled meat, said, "I am Ge Ying,
a descendant of the Snow Mountain School of Xiling in Sichuan. She is my cousin, a member of the Tang Clan of Sichuan. May I ask your esteemed name, sir?
Your grappling skills are truly remarkable, unlike anything I've ever seen before. May I ask which school you belong to, and which
senior disciple you are a disciple of?"
"Hahaha, still reciting lines at a time like this? My surname is Li, and my name is Li Lang. And who were those thugs just now
?" Li Lang was amused by them and laughed heartily.
Upon hearing this, Tang Ling said resentfully, "If we're not mistaken, they should be
from the Jiangnan Thunderbolt Hall. The Thunderbolt Hall has always had a grudge against my Tang Clan. I never thought they would dare to attack my cousin and me."
Li Lang was annoyed. "Tang Clan? Thunderbolt Hall? Snow Mountain Sect? They're all very famous. Can I ask you one more question?
What era is this? Hahaha, martial arts sects..."
Ge Ying replied, "It's the first year of the Hongxi reign of the Ming Dynasty. Emperor Yongle
passed away on his way back from his northern expedition against the Mongols. The current emperor has just ascended the throne and changed the reign title."
Her answer was calm and collected, but to Li Lang it was like a bolt from the blue. He was taken aback and involuntarily
stood up, shouting, "What? You're saying it's the Ming Dynasty now?"
"Indeed, Brother Li's master must be a reclusive master, unaware of the
rise and fall of dynasties in this world. It's not surprising." Compared to his reaction, Ge Ying was quite calm. In her mind,
there were many extraordinary people in this world, and it wasn't unusual for them to live in seclusion in the mountains, unaware of the era.
"The Ming Dynasty? The Ming Dynasty! Damn it, I've actually come to the Ming Dynasty... No wonder, no wonder... I was wondering why I
couldn't get a signal... I've come all the way to the Ming Dynasty, how could I possibly get a signal... I've actually come to the Ming Dynasty? This is truly unbelievable
..." Li Lang seemed lost and bewildered, muttering as he stumbled backward and sat down on the ground.
"Brother Li, Brother Li, are you alright?" Ge Ying
asked with concern, seeing that he had just been chatting and laughing but suddenly changed his expression.
"Hey, hey, what's wrong?" Tang Ling asked curiously, turning to Ge Ying in surprise,
"Cousin, what happened to him? He was fine just now."
Ge Ying said in astonishment, "I don't know either. Brother Li must have encountered something. Let's not disturb
him and let him calm down and recover on his own."
Suddenly, Tang Ling drew her sword, turned around, and shouted sharply, "Who goes there?"
"Hehehe... Miss Tang, you have excellent hearing. Even the slightest sound from us can't escape your earth-hearing technique."
With a chilling laugh, several people emerged from the woods, led by a middle-aged scholar with a sinister face, and
walked towards them.
"One, two, three... six, seven." Tang Ling carefully examined their attire, noticing that each of them
had a Big Dipper embroidered in silver thread on their chests. Her gaze narrowed, and she said in a deep voice, "The Thunderbolt Hall's 'Seven Stars
Fiends,' I didn't expect the Thunderbolt Hall to send even you. It's said that the Thunderbolt Hall has four teams of Seven Stars Fiends: 'Heaven, Earth, Black, and Yellow,'
all elite members of the Lei family. They cultivate the Big Dipper Formation to coordinate their attacks. If the four teams are combined, they can evolve into the 'Twenty-Eight
Constellations Formation.' May I ask which team you seven belong to? And which experts from the Lei family are you?"
"Hehe, Miss Tang, you certainly know a lot about the Thunderbolt Hall. I am Lei Ding, the leader of the Yellow Team of the Seven Stars Fiends
." The middle-aged scholar, holding a folding fan, bowed to Tang Ling.
"So it's the worst Yellow Team." Tang Ling sneered.
"I am of poor talent, and despite being selected through multiple rounds of trials, I can only serve as the leader of the Yellow Team
. I am no match for the other experts of my Thunderbolt Hall," Lei Ding said calmly, waving his folding fan.
Ge Ying, however, was secretly alarmed. Those short-tempered, easily provoked opponents from before would have been easy to deal with, but
these cunning and calculating adversaries were difficult to handle. And this was only the weakest team among the so-called Seven Star Fiends.
Lei Ding turned to Li Lang and said, "Just now, did this brother possess a sword that could cut through iron like mud, and
teach my worthless subordinates a lesson? I am Lei Ding of the Thunderbolt Hall. May I ask your esteemed name and which
school you belong to?"
He then bowed deeply to Li Lang.
Li Lang remained silent for a while, causing Lei Ding's expression to change. He said in a sarcastic tone, "Could it be that this brother
looks down on me and disdains to pay me any attention?"
Li Lang raised his head and slowly said, "I don't care who you are, get lost."
Lei Ding's expression changed, and he laughed angrily, saying, "Fine... fine... brother is indeed arrogant. I originally
intended to invite Fairy Ge and Miss Tang, but now I must experience your superior skills."
At this moment, a man emerged from behind Lei Ding, holding a sharp sword, and said, "Brother, why waste words with this brat? Let me
test his mettle..."
After saying that, the man made a sword gesture with his left hand and thrust his sword straight at Li Lang's chest.
Li Lang swung his hand sharply, and a cold light slashed at the sword in the man's hand. A clang of metal rang out, and the man staggered back a step, noticing a large nick in his weapon. He exclaimed in horror, "It truly is a treasured blade! It can even wound
my refined steel sword!" Lei Ding shouted, "Third brother, step back. Fourth brother, your weapon is heavy; you handle him. The rest of you , follow me and capture these two women first." Having given his orders, Lei Ding closed his folding fan and leaped forward, the fan flashing like a viper's tongue as he pointed at Tang Ling. Ge Ying cried out, throwing her longsword to block Lei Ding and engage him in battle. Tang Ling, wielding two swords, was about to join her cousin in the fight when she was stopped by a Thunderbolt Hall disciple wielding a knife. She cried out again, her two swords flashing as she clashed with him. Li Lang was now cornered by a burly man wielding a circular steel shield with sharp teeth all around its edges . The man spun around, slashing left and right. Li Lang's short sword struck the shield, sending sparks flying, but the shield was heavy and thick; though sharp, the short sword couldn't harm it. At this moment, two more Seven Star Fiends attacked Tang Ling, while the remaining two, armed with weapons, calmly guarded the outside, occasionally launching sneak attacks. Lei Ding's folding fan flashed with points, thrusts, cuts, and slashes, but all were deflected by Ge Ying's longsword.

Ge Ying, with her agile and unpredictable movements, launched a series of unexpected attacks, gradually gaining the upper hand.
Tang Ling, surrounded by the three, was slowly losing ground. Had the three not intended to capture her alive, she would likely have been
injured long ago. Even though the three deliberately refrained from using lethal attacks, Tang Ling's face was flushed, and sweat beaded on her temples; she was in grave danger.
"Cousin!" Seeing Tang Ling in peril, Ge Ying was greatly alarmed. She unleashed three swift sword strikes, forcing
Lei Ding back, and leaped towards Tang Ling.
Lei Ding was furious. He discarded his folding fan, took out an object from his robes, and shouted, "Since you've chosen to die, don't
blame me for being ruthless!" He raised the object, aiming it at Ge Ying.
Upon seeing it, Tang Ling's face turned pale, and she cried out in horror, "Fire God Spear! Cousin, be careful!" Ge Ying, still in mid-air, heard Tang Ling's cry. She turned around in shock, and with a loud bang, a ball of fire erupted from
Lei Ding's hand.
A burst of blood erupted from Ge Ying's chest, followed by a painful groan as
she fell to the ground like a kite
with a broken string. "Cousin!" Tang Ling cried out in despair, disregarding her own safety and attacking relentlessly, forcing
back three Seven Star Fiends. Tang Ling stumbled over, knelt, and helped Ge Ying up, crying, "Cousin,
cousin! How are you?"
Lei Ding approached, his face filled with murderous intent, and said, "Fairy Ge, I didn't intend to kill you, but
..."
Ge Ying's face was pale, and she gritted her teeth, saying, "I didn't expect... the Thunderbolt Hall's Fire God Spear is indeed as
powerful as rumored..."
Tang Ling said hatefully, "Lei Ding, I, from the Sichuan Tang Clan, will never let you get away with this... Give me your life..." She swung
her twin swords at Lei Ding, but was blocked by the third brother wielding the sword.
Lei Ding said, "May Fairy Ge have a safe journey. I won't see you off. Fifth Brother, give Fairy Ge a quick death...
"
Fifth Brother revealed a bloodthirsty smile, pulled out a musket identical to the one in Lei Ding's hand from his pocket, aimed it at Ge
Ying, and pulled the trigger.
Ge Ying was about to close her eyes and await death when suddenly someone rushed over and threw himself on top of her. At the same time, 'Bang!'
'Bang!' Two gunshots rang out one after the other.
Fifth Brother's head exploded like a smashed egg, and the one who had thrown himself on top of Ge Ying to take the bullet for her was none other than Li Lang.
He held a Desert Eagle with a murderous look on his face, slowly got up, and a shiny lead bullet
rolled off his clothes and onto the ground.
"Fifth Brother!!" Lei Ding exclaimed in shock, and quickly turned his head, only to find that Fourth Brother was also lying on the ground with his eyes wide open,
Li Lang's short knife embedded in his chest, all the way into the hilt.
"How come you also have a Vulcan gun?" Lei Ding's expression was extremely horrified.
"Vulcan Gun? A rather domineering name, even more imposing than the Desert Eagle..." Li Lang spat out a
mouthful of bloody saliva and sneered. He had just seen Ge Ying shot, and in a moment of panic, he had taken a blow from Lao Si's shield. Lao Si then
swung his shield at him, expecting to see his flesh and bones ripped apart. But no blood splattered; the savage smile on his lips froze,
as Lao Lang stabbed him in the heart from below, killing him instantly without a sound.
Li Lang glanced down thankfully at his flight suit, made of special nanomaterials that also served as a bulletproof
vest—it had saved him twice. To him, Lao Wu's Vulcan Gun was no
better than a homemade gunpowder gun used in street brawls; Lao Si's strength and heavy shield had nearly broken his
ribs. (To be continued)
