Chapter 94 The Asura Empire

The Asura Empire, the most powerful military superpower on the Dragon Continent, stretches its borders from

the Tianxue Mountains (connecting with the Divine Eagle Empire to the east) in the east to the Siberian Sea in the west, the Kasara Mountains in the south, and the Sea of Death in the north, spanning the western continent and

encompassing almost the entire western grasslands. Its territory covers over 17 million square kilometers, second only to the Divine Eagle Empire in size

The Asura Empire is not entirely a grassland nation or a nomadic people's landmass. Besides the western grasslands,

it also possesses mountains, plains, rivers, lakes, swamps, and

deserts

. In addition to its abundant cattle, sheep, and horses, it engages in agriculture, cultivating vegetables such as potatoes and cabbage. Its industry and commerce are relatively developed, capable of manufacturing metal goods, although its craftsmanship lags behind the other two major empires on the continent.

The Asura Empire is a multi-ethnic nation with dozens of races, but the most prominent are the eight renowned races of

the continent : the Eight Heavenly Dragon Clan.

These eight Heavenly Dragon Clans are: the Celestial Clan (abbreviated as Celestial), the Dragon Clan (abbreviated as Dragon), and the Yaksha Clan. The Gandharva

race, the Asura race (abbreviated as Asura), the Garuda race, the Kinnara race, and the Mahoraga race are all

part of the Asura Empire. The eight classes of celestial dragons have the largest population and the most warriors, correspondingly controlling the fate, rise, fall, and survival of their respective nations.

Therefore , they occupy the largest territories, naturally

dividing the entire Asura Empire into eight major regions, forming the eight main territories.

These eight territories are also called the eight royal territories: the Heavenly King Territory (territory of the Devas), the Dragon King Territory (

territory of the Nagas), the Night King Territory (territory of the Yakshas), the Gandharva King Territory (territory of the Gandharva race), the Asura King Territory (

territory ), the Garuda King Territory (territory of the Garuda race), the Kinnara King Territory (territory of the Kinnara race), and the Mahoraga King

Territory (territory of the Mahoraga race).

As the most powerful race in the Asura Empire, the Asura people far outnumber the other seven races, thus

their territory is undoubtedly the largest and most prosperous. Besides the Asura Territory, the Asura royal family also occupies

the empire 's political center, Asura Fortress. Their territory is more than half the country's land area. Furthermore, the Asura people

control the vast majority of the empire's army, commanding all other races with absolute obedience.

The current Asura Emperor, Asura XIII, is a man of great talent and strategic vision, making wise decisions. Under his iron-fisted rule, the empire's

power has flourished, reaching its peak in over a century. With a wealthy and powerful nation, his

ambition to dominate the continent has naturally grown. Therefore, on August 6th, 1676 of the Holy Calendar, the Asura Emperor once again

launched a war against the Divine Eagle Empire.

This war was unexpected not only by the Divine Eagle People but also by the Asura People themselves. In the dead of

winter, amidst the freezing cold and initial setbacks, the Asura soldiers, with their troops suffering from the bitter cold,

unexpectedly captured the formidable pass of Xitian City, a strategic stronghold the empire hadn't conquered in over a century.

When news of the Asura army's victory reached them, Asura Fortress erupted in jubilation, hosting

a grand celebration banquet in the main hall of the palace.

There were no dazzling colored lights, no gaudy gold and silver decorations; the Asura Palace

was constructed of massive black granite blocks, with towering Da Luo stone pillars standing between the palaces, and armed Asura Iron Guard soldiers standing between them

. A colossal iron gate and drawbridge surrounded the entire palace, encircling a moat.

The palace's predominantly black color scheme conveyed grandeur, imposing size, simplicity, solemnity, and austerity—it resembled a massive military fortress more

than a palace.

The banquet was underway. His Majesty the Asura Emperor sat in the main seat of the main hall, flanked by two rows of bronze tables.

Important civil and military officials of the empire were

there for their meals. Apart from a few key figures such as Crown Prince Asura Qinglong, Left Wolf King Asura Teng, and Prime Minister Yan Boxiu, who were currently engaged in battle on the front lines, all the imperial generals and tribal leaders not on the eastern expedition were gathered here.

old , who had succeeded as the tribal leader of the powerful Dragon Clan two years prior, becoming the new Dragon King;

and the Sixth Legion of the Empire, the Black Panther Legion, commanded by Xiu Yuhe, also a member of the Asura clan.

Duke Shura Yuan, commander of the Whirlwind Legion of the Eleventh Imperial Legion, is of royal lineage from the Shura clan.

King Namudan, commander of the Swift Lightning Legion of the Twelfth Imperial Legion, is, like Long Tengfei,

a tribal chief of the Kinara clan. The Kinara clan is renowned for its fine horses and excellent cavalry.

Two of the nineteen Imperial Legions are Kinara cavalry legions.

Marquis Na Yanhe, commander of the Gale Legion of the Thirteenth Imperial Legion, is also of Kinara lineage.

Jiaweixian, commander of the Mammoth Legion of the Fourteenth Imperial Legion, is also the chieftain of the Garuda clan, one of the Empire's major clans . The Garuda clan is numerous, but compared to other tribes in the Empire, they are known
