Chapter 46 The Vengeful Ghost

The biggest disadvantage was in breathing. Wu Tianjiao seemed to have a natural advantage in the water, not in a hurry to breathe

. On the other hand, after struggling for half a quarter of an hour, the Heavenly Spirit Mother's strength gradually weakened. Her left foot was stuck in the driftwood, with no way to escape.

If this continued, she would eventually be subdued by Wu Tianjiao and capsize in the ditch. However, she

had no chance of saving herself and was finally paralyzed after half an hour.

Only then did Wu Tianjiao exhale, weary but with a hint of triumph, and say, "Damn, this woman is as strong as a

wild bull."

Wu Tianjiao quickly pulled the rope, surfaced, and dragged the Heavenly Spirit Mother, along with the driftwood, to the shore. Upon reaching

the shore, he immediately pressed acupoints on the Heavenly Spirit Mother's body, securely binding her hands behind her back. Only then did he catch his breath, finally

subduing her. He couldn't help but feel a little smug, chuckling, "If all women were like her, I

'd be exhausted to death!"

This ordeal had left Wu Tianjiao utterly exhausted, especially from the sword wound to his chest and abdomen inflicted by the Heavenly Spirit Mother.

The wound, which had already scabbed over, reopened after the fight, bleeding profusely. Fortunately,

his self-healing abilities were exceptional; the bleeding stopped shortly after the wound reopened. He lay on the stone ground, panting heavily,

resting for a while before sitting up cross-legged to meditate and regulate his breathing.

As darkness fell and night descended, the mountains and forests were utterly silent.

After nearly an hour of practicing internal energy cultivation, the moon rose, and Wu Tianjiao finally stopped. Having recovered

some strength, he leaned down to look at the Heavenly Spirit Mother. She was soaked to the bone, her clothes clinging tightly to her body, revealing her most alluring features—

her breasts and waist were exposed, her figure alluring, even slightly translucent. This aroused Wu Tianjiao's lust, and

he couldn't resist groping her fiery body. However, he quickly noticed something was wrong with the Heavenly Spirit Mother. Her

fair face was flushed, and her forehead was burning hot to the touch! It seemed that being soaked in water and then frozen

had taken its toll. If it weren't for her profound internal energy and superior martial arts, she would have been dead long ago.

"You damned woman! If it weren't for Sister Yunhua, I would have raped you right now!"

Wu Tianjiao sneered. After a moment's thought, he carried the Heavenly Spirit Mother on his back and left the valley, intending to find a place

to rest.

Wu Tianjiao walked through the forest for a while, then vaguely saw what appeared to be a firelight ahead. He rubbed his eyes hard;

yes , it was firelight. He immediately ran towards it

. Even from a distance, Wu Tianjiao was overwhelmed by the pungent smell of blood, which made him dizzy! As he got closer,

he saw a figure by the firelight, doing something he couldn't quite place. At his feet lay clumps

of mangled flesh , a truly gruesome sight.

The sound of his footsteps startled the figure by the firelight. The figure turned around, and Wu Tianjiao's legs gave way, nearly causing him to fall. The person's

face was terrifying, like a zombie, devoid of any color. His face was covered in wrinkles, without

eyebrows , with sunken eye sockets, no nose or lips, revealing a set of gleaming white teeth. In the firelight,

he truly looked like a vengeful ghost!

Wu Tianjiao stopped in his tracks. Instinctively, he sensed that the inhuman, ghostly figure before him was no

good . Just as he was about to turn back, the humanoid ghost shrieked, "Perfect timing! I just needed two live prey as bait, and

heaven has delivered them to my doorstep! Heaven bless me! Heaven bless me!"

Before the words were finished, *whoosh! whoosh!* Two finger strikes shot towards him. Fast! Too fast! After his

battle with the Heavenly Spirit Mother, Wu Tianjiao's strength had barely recovered, leaving him weak and unable to move before the

finger strikes knocked him to the ground.

The ghostly figure stood before him, and Wu Tianjiao felt a chill run down his spine. His teeth chattered, and

he stammered , "You… what are you going to do?"

The ghost grabbed Wu Tianjiao and the Heavenly Spirit Mother, one in each hand, and muttered to himself, "Yuwen Fang, Yuwen Fang,

even heaven is helping me like this. Your death is near!"

Because he had no lips, his speech was muffled, like sand in his mouth, extremely unpleasant.

Wu Tianjiao recognized the name Yuwen Fang, but couldn't quite place it for the moment due to nervousness.

The vengeful ghost tied Wu Tianjiao and Yuwen Fang to two stakes beside the fire, then returned to his work.

Wu Tianjiao steadied himself and saw that the fire in front of him formed a circle about ten feet in diameter. He couldn't tell

what forming the flames; he couldn't see the burning material, but the flames rose two or three feet high,

remaining steadfast regardless of the night wind—it was eerie.

The vengeful ghost continued to pluck bloody chunks of flesh from a large bag and tossed them

evenly around the fire circle. Soon, the bag was empty, and the vengeful ghost sat cross-legged outside the fire circle, staring intently at

the area encircled by the fire.

The vengeful ghost mumbled something from its lipless mouth, and Wu Tianjiao realized it seemed to be waiting for something.

Perhaps because of the heat of the fire, the Heavenly Spirit Mother beside him was much better, muttering something in a daze.

Listening , it seemed she was calling for Ziyan, but who was she calling for?

A piercing shriek startled Wu Tianjiao. The sound seemed to come from inside the fire circle.

Looking closely, he saw a mound of earth rising in the center of the fire circle, and a small head slowly poked out, like a mouse

. When it emerged from the ground, Wu Tianjiao almost screamed. A flamboyant body, a pair of extra-large ears—

who else could it be but the level seven magical beast, the Flower Fox Sable?

Seeing the Flower Fox Sable emerge, the vengeful ghost howled repeatedly, "I see you ca

n't escape today! How's the taste of this Hellfire?"

The Flower Fox Sable continued to shriek inside the fire circle, but dared not rush out. It seemed very afraid of the Hellfire mentioned by the vengeful ghost

. After several attempts, it retreated just before touching the flames.

The vengeful ghost pulled a gleaming golden knife from its waist, approached the Heavenly Spirit Mother, and said, "Hurry up and come out

! Come out and we'll have a feast. Haven't eaten in ages, have you? Smell this, the smell of blood is strong!"

With that, it tore off the Heavenly Spirit Mother's sleeve and slashed her arm.

Wu Tianjiao was shocked, fearing the ghost would kill the Heavenly Spirit Mother. He was about to summon Hu Liniang and the others when he saw

the ghost only made a cut on her arm. He wondered, "What is he going to do?"

He waited patiently, watching as blood flowed down the Heavenly Spirit Mother's snow-white arm, a striking sight.

The ghost's eyes gleamed with glee, and it said, "Haha, my little sable! Let's see where you run now!"

Turning back, he found a bowl among his belongings. He made another cut on the Heavenly Spirit Mother's arm,

filled it almost to the brim with blood, and sniffed it under his nose, which now only had two holes. "Not bad!

Not bad ! It's still the original stuff, good blood!"

He pressed the blood bowl against the flames of the Hellfire, and wisps of smoke hissed and rose, filling the air with a stench.

Wu Tianjiao saw that the wound on the Heavenly Spirit Mother's arm was still bleeding, and if it continued to bleed, she would be crippled. He frowned

slightly , thinking, "It's good that you suffer a little. Who told you to chase after me!"

The Flower Fox Sable seemed to be desperately craving the bowl of the Heavenly Spirit Mother's blood, but it also knew it was deadly poison.

It approached the bowl several times but then withdrew, infuriating the vengeful ghost, who kept glancing at the moon.

Time passed second by second, and the man and the sable remained locked in a stalemate, as if they were testing each other's patience, both remaining calm and collected.

The moon was high in the sky, and the vengeful ghost's palms were sweating with anxiety. He had spent nearly two years trying to capture the Flower Fox Sable, and today

was arguably his most successful attempt. He had used the Hellfire he had painstakingly conjured to trap the sable in the fiery ley lines.

But time was of the essence; once the full moon passed and the Hellfire died down, capturing it again would be far more difficult!

The situation here was truly bizarre, but Wu Tianjiao was only half-heartedly focused on it. The Heavenly Spirit Mother stood there

with her head tilted , the wound on her arm no longer bleeding. It was unclear whether she was alive or dead. After all, she was

Yunhua's master, and it would be difficult to face Yunhua if she died like this.

The vengeful ghost knew that waiting any longer would mean all his efforts were in vain. He hadn't expected the Flower Fox Sable to be so powerful and resilient.

It seemed he had to find a different method! Turning back to Wu Tianjiao, he said, "That bowl of Yin blood won't work.

I hope you won't disappoint me!"

He untied the ropes binding Wu Tianjiao, fed him a foul-smelling pill, and tossed him

into the ring of fire by the scruff of his neck!

Caught off guard by the pill, Wu Tianjiao tried to spit it out but it was too late. He was terrified, but as soon as he landed

in the ring of fire, he jumped high. It was so hot inside! He was practically cooked! The sweat

hadn't even surfaced before the fire dried it off!

Wu Tianjiao tried to jump out of the ring of fire, but his legs were completely powerless, and he felt utterly exhausted.

And that wasn't all. The weasel inside the ring of fire, seeing a living creature enter, squeaked happily. It too had been terribly harmed by this vengeful ghost , chased from north to south without a single bite to eat. It was so hungry it could swallow a cow whole. It leaped and darted around

Wu Tianjiao , waiting for its chance to strike. Wu Tianjiao knelt in the circle of fire, his hands pressed to the ground. He was surprised to find that the ground wasn't soil, but a pale red powder, very crystalline and intensely hot, though still bearable compared to the temperature of the fire circle! The vengeful ghost, seeing the sable fox circling Cheng Huan, cried out urgently, "Hurry! Hurry!" Hearing the ghost's shouts, Wu Tianjiao was furious: "I'll let you in here and taste this living hell!" Suddenly, a piercing pain rose from his abdomen. Wu Tianjiao felt as if his intestines might have ruptured; why did it hurt so much! Just as Wu Tianjiao was experiencing excruciating pain, the sable fox smelled a fragrant aroma emanating from him and immediately spewed thick red smoke from its mouth, enveloping him. What was Wu Tianjiao feeling now? If he had the ability to commit suicide, he would have done so without hesitation. The pain was unbearable; he had been careless. Wu Tianjiao never expected to die like this, his body completely obliterated – it was just too unfortunate! The thick red smoke made it difficult for Wu Tianjiao to breathe, causing him to cough violently. However, the smoke tasted sweet , almost addictive. Although it was unpleasant to inhale, he couldn't help but gasp for breath, trying to swallow every last bit of the smoke. Of course, all of this was due to the foul-smelling pill the vengeful ghost had fed him! As Wu Tianjiao continued to inhale the red smoke spewed by the ferret, his was filled with inexhaustible power, his eyes turned bloodshot, and the only thought in his mind was to devour the ferret before him. He slowly got up, his hands like claws, and inching towards the ferret. The ferret also felt it was time to enjoy its feast. It arched its back, revealing a set of sharp teeth, and stared intently at the approaching Wu Tianjiao. The vengeful ghost watched the changes within the circle of fire intently, clenching its fists occasionally. Success or failure hinged on this moment. If the person inside could devour the weasel, then devouring him wouldn't significantly alter the effect, would it? Even if the weasel ate him, it would be exhausted, making the task much easier. Wu Tianjiao's clothes had turned to ash, his body shimmering with flames. Completely irrational, he reached for the weasel, intending to tear it apart and eat it raw. The weasel leaped up, its sharp teeth snapping at Wu Tianjiao's hands, thinking a snack might be better. Wu Tianjiao's only thought now was to devour the weasel before him. Guided by this thought, he moved with lightning speed, dodging the weasel's attack and grabbing its tail. This weasel wasn't very powerful, and its earlier burst of red smoke had exhausted it. Wu Tianjiao caught it red-handed, grabbing its tail. Seeing that Wu Tianjiao had grabbed its tail, the ferret desperately tried to bite his arm, tearing off a chunk of flesh—at least three ounces, if not half a pound—and blood gushed from Wu Tianjiao's arm, pooling on the ground. Wu Tianjiao, oblivious to the pain, pulled the ferret's tail in half, not caring about the fur, and began to chew it with relish. The ferret, its tail severed, shrieked in pain, unable to eat the piece of flesh it had bitten off . It shrank back and slipped out of Wu Tianjiao's grasp. Not satisfied with just half a tail, Wu Tianjiao gave chase . The ferret, holding a grudge, seized the opportunity when Wu Tianjiao bent over and bit his calf again. This time, it swallowed the flesh whole, satisfying its hunger! The vengeful ghost outside the circle of fire roared with joy. At this rate, with both man and sable dead, his martial arts would surely surpass Yuwen Fang's! Revenge would be within reach! There's an old superstitious saying: "What is destined to be yours will be yours, and what is not, you cannot force; the blessed need not to strive, while the unblessed will toil endlessly." This saying perfectly describes the vengeful ghost, who had schemed and plotted, hoping to devour the flower fox sable.

He had been working tirelessly for two years to improve his skills, and today he finally looked forward to success. However, just as

the fortune teller predicted, his appearance didn't suggest he was a lucky person! It seemed that Wu Tianjiao and the Flower Fox Sable

would both perish in a moment, but at that very moment, the moon slowly moved past its zenith, and the appointed time had passed!

The Hellfire suddenly extinguished, and the shimmering red powder on the ground disappeared. What had been unbearably hot

was now cool, as if nothing had ever happened.

The Flower Fox Sable, its entire tail already swallowed by Wu Tianjiao, was filled with hatred and wanted to bite him to death

when the Hellfire went out. The threat around it vanished, and it felt more comfortable than if it had eaten countless cows.

With a shriek, it darted out of the fire circle like lightning, fleeing south for its life—escaping was the priority!

The vengeful ghost howled to the sky, its voice almost like a ghostly wail. Moving like lightning, it chased the almost invisible flower

fox-wolf for half an hour without success. Forced to turn back, it searched for Wu Tianjiao. Seeing that Wu Tianjiao

had eaten a tail, it figured it was at least somewhat useful; otherwise, after two years of hard work ending empty-handed, this rage would

have suffocated it.

As the fiery earth vein disappeared, Wu Tianjiao collapsed, his body writhing as if

engulfed in an inextinguishable flame, convulsing and tormented!

The vengeful ghost had fed Wu Tianjiao an unknown drug, rendering him delirious, but the torment was so

intense that he desperately wanted water to quench his burning anger. Every movement was incredibly difficult for Wu Tianjiao,

yet he crawled forward, for not far ahead lay the bowl of blood from the Heavenly Spirit Mother, emitting a faint,

slightly watery scent that was incomparably potent for his strength!

Finally, after a long while, Wu Tianjiao held the bowl of blood in his hands, slowly brought it to his lips, and gulped

it down, as if drinking sweet nectar, savoring its boundless flavor!

Just as Wu Tianjiao put the bowl down, the vengeful ghost turned back, walked up to him, and cried out, "You've really lost the big picture

for a small gain! Heaven is truly blind!"

After drinking the blood, Wu Tianjiao felt a cool sensation flow from his Baihui acupoint on the top of his head to the Yongquan acupoint on

the , a feeling of immense comfort. In a semi-conscious state, he felt a sudden gust of wind press down on his head, and Wu Tianjiao instinctively

raised his hands to meet it.

A loud bang followed, and Wu Tianjiao was sent flying about three zhang (approximately 10 meters) away, while the vengeful ghost was also thrown back seven or eight steps.

Wu Tianjiao felt nauseous, staggered to his feet, and stared at the vengeful ghost with bloodshot eyes,

wondering why he had been attacked!

The vengeful ghost rubbed its numb arm, staring at Wu Tianjiao in disbelief. Could such a small amount have

such an effect? Excitedly, it cried out, "If I can't eat the flower fox, eating you is just as good!"

With that, it instantly unleashed dozens of claws, each one aimed at Wu Tianjiao's vitals.

Wu Tianjiao, completely oblivious, instinctively retaliated against the ghost's attacks. Each punch he

threw generated a wave of heat, as if trying to extinguish the lingering embers of the blood. Each punch brought

a sense of relief, until finally his punches were lightning-fast, his arm movements like mountains!

The vengeful ghost initially thought that with its decades of martial arts experience, dealing with Wu Tianjiao, who had just eaten a flower fox tail,

would be a piece of cake! But he was wrong. Wu Tianjiao was so difficult to deal with that

the tail of the sable fox was less than a tenth of the solution. First, he fed Wu Tianjiao a pill, and then

he threw him into the fiery ley lines surrounded by Hellfire, tempering his meridians. The fiery ley lines moved in and out of Wu Tianjiao

's body several times, almost burning him to the point of exploding. Then, Wu Tianjiao drank the bowl of blood from the Heavenly Spirit

Mother . The Yin blood from the vengeful ghost's mouth, the Hellfire, and the fiery ley lines were mutually reinforcing and restraining.

The Hellfire could restrain the fiery ley lines, while the Yin blood could neutralize the Hellfire. So when Wu Tianjiao drank

the Yin blood that had neutralized the Hellfire, it completely sealed off the essence of the fiery ley lines still in Wu Tianjiao's body

!

For the first twenty-odd rounds, the vengeful ghost could hold its own against Wu Tianjiao. However, as Wu Tianjiao grew stronger,

the ghost began to struggle. It was like fighting a tireless machine, and Wu Tianjiao was almost

entirely offensive, with no defense. He would attack relentlessly, indifferent to the blows, and would deal with the ghost however he pleased

. Who could withstand such a fighting style? So, after twenty moves, the vengeful ghost was on the verge of collapse, nearly

being crushed to death by Wu Tianjiao several times.

The vengeful ghost was now unable to defeat Wu Tianjiao, yet unwilling to give up, so it had no choice but to grit its teeth and persevere

! Wu Tianjiao, supported by the strange power within his body, was performing at an extraordinary level. Even Wu Wudi

would find it difficult to bring Wu Tianjiao down at this moment, because Wu Tianjiao's mind was blank;

he didn't know anything about power, only the maddening, unbearable pain within him.

The vengeful ghost barely held out for nearly eighty rounds, knowing it wouldn't escape if it didn't leave soon. It made up its mind and

was about retreat when Wu Tianjiao let out a deep roar. His fists instantly multiplied into millions of

fists, each radiating heat like an erupting volcano, which spewed towards the ghost.

Unconsciously had unleashed the Iron Family's ultimate technique, the Five Thunder Heavenly Fiend Fist, taught to him by Tie Yuhu, its power surpassing even Tie Yuhu's own

!

The vengeful ghost screamed, its palms flying, channeling all its strength to try and withstand Wu Tianjiao's earth-shattering

attack. Instantly, countless deafening sounds exploded, as dense as firecrackers, converging into a deafening bang that pierced

the eardrums Then, the vengeful ghost screamed, spitting out a stream of blood, and using the recoil to flee rapidly,

disappearing into the moonlight.

Deprived of his target, Wu Tianjiao went berserk, wildly swinging his fists in all directions,

smashing the chunks of flesh laid out by the vengeful ghost beneath his feet to pieces, sending bits of flesh flying. When he saw the Heavenly Spirit Mother bound to a stake a few feet away

, he leaped down in front of her, ready to turn her into mincemeat. Just

as his fist was about to strike her head, an indescribable feeling rose from Wu Tianjiao's heart. The bowl

of Yin blood he had drunk formed a subtle connection with the Heavenly Spirit Mother. A cool sensation slowly flowed from his heart to his entire body, soothing

his soul scorched by the flames. Wu Tianjiao coughed up blood, instantly regaining his senses, and stammered, "

What happened to me?"

As Wu Tianjiao's mind cleared, he saw that the Heavenly Spirit Mother was still bound to the stake, while the vengeful ghost had vanished...

He hurriedly untied the ropes binding the Heavenly Spirit Mother. Only then did Wu Tianjiao feel the indescribable

pain on his body. Before he could properly place the Heavenly Spirit Mother, he cried out in pain, collapsed to the ground, and lost consciousness.
