New Year's Day is just around the corner, and the city is filled with a long-lost excitement.
After Fang Yiyue was promoted to team leader, his work pressure increased even more. He worked five days a week, with two days of overtime. Every time he went home, he was greeted by the lonely, howling smoke of war. Fang Yiyue nodded. "What a coincidence."
Do you work in this building?
"Yes, on the 28th floor."
"Hey? Isn't that Morgan Stanley? My dad's there too!" Xiao Rui exclaimed excitedly, her big eyes, covered in false eyelashes, blinking. "My dad's name is Tang Jie, do you know him?"
Fang Yiyue and several colleagues exchanged glances and chuckled.
“Of course I know him,” Fang Yiyue replied with a faint smile. “Tang Sir is the second-in-command at Morgan Stanley.”
"No wonder, I was wondering why an ordinary girl would eat here. Turns out she's Tang Sir's daughter."
"Hey girl, you have the dashing and heroic air of Tang Sir. You're bound to be extraordinary in the future."

"Hmm." Fang Yiyue responded coolly, crossed his legs and sat in the passenger seat, watching Shen Zong happily start the car.
"Oh right, weren't you hungry? I just went to the nearby store and bought a small bread roll. I heard this kind is the most popular among office workers here, right?" Shen Zong took out a beautifully packaged small bread roll from the drawer and handed it to him, smiling like a student hoping to get praise from the teacher.
"Where did you learn all this nonsense from?" Fang Yiyue asked, taking over the conversation.
"That's not important." Shen Zong revealed that mysterious and cunning smile again, which, combined with his innocent face, gave him a childlike mischievousness.
The two arrived at the largest imported goods supermarket in the vicinity. Shen Zong originally didn't want to come here, but he had no choice but to compromise at Fang Yiyue's request.
"Yiyue, things here are more expensive than in other supermarkets..." Shen Zong muttered as soon as he entered.
"I'm paying, what are you yelling about?"
"You're going to pay?" Shen Zong was stunned.
"You cook, I pay, what's so strange about that?" Fang Yiyue said as she put a basket of cherries into the shopping cart.
Shen Zong took a while to react, then said softly, "Actually, you don't need to do this. I'd be happy to pay for Yi Yue's meal..."
"It's better to keep money matters separate." Fang Yiyue didn't look at him and continued adding things to the shopping cart. "We don't have any special relationship."
Shen Zonggang shut his mouth, which he was about to use to refute, and stared blankly at Fang Yiyue, who had his back to him, with an expression that could be described as sadness or disappointment gradually appearing on his face.
"Alright then, Yiyue, I'll go pick out some vegetables over there first. Don't go too far."
Fang Yiyue frowned as she listened to the footsteps fading into the distance.
He had been listening the whole time, glancing around out of the corner of his eye, and he knew what Shen Zong's expression might be during the brief silence. He turned around, but he could no longer see the other person.
He had already told Shen Zong that their relationship was limited to being bed partners, and Shen Zong already knew that, so why was he still upset? In his eyes, Shen Zong had always been shameless and neurotic to the point of being obsessive. No matter how much he mocked and insulted him, Shen Zong always seemed indifferent. Their relationship should have been a harmonious one where one was willing to hit and the other was willing to be hit.
What's even stranger is that he's started to notice this change in Shen Zong.
Fang Yiyue stood quietly in place for almost a minute, then pushed her shopping cart and walked quickly toward the vegetable section.
Shen Zong was picking through a patch of lush green vegetables when he saw him. He paused for a moment, then gave him his usual gentle smile: "What kind of vegetables would you like to eat?"
"Baby bok choy, with some shrimp and glass noodles, like last time."
Shen Zong was stunned for a while before he remembered that Fang Yiyue was referring to the dish she made for him when he was sick. "You thought it was delicious, didn't you?"
"It's alright, a little better than restaurants."
Shen Zong's eyes lit up after receiving the praise: "Okay, I'll make it for you tonight."
After the two finished picking out vegetables, they passed through the daily necessities section. When they came across a full-length mirror, Shen Zong suddenly stopped and stared at his reflection in a daze.
"Yiyue, look."
"What?" Fang Yiyue also looked in the mirror, where the image of the two of them standing together was reflected. Shen Zong's childish, fair, clean, and extremely deceptive face was particularly eye-catching.
"Don't you think you're a perfect match?"
Fang Yiyue nudged his butt with the shopping cart: "Hurry up and go."
Shen Zong smiled sheepishly, but he still lingered on the mirror, turning back to look at it so much that he bumped into an oncoming shopping cart.

Fang Yiyue thought to herself, "What a small world! I can't believe I ran into Xu Feng while shopping at the supermarket, and next to him is Yuan Fei in a wine-red dress."
