Chapter Four: The Battle at Sea

"Now I believe,"

Hualuoshi said to the black cat, Quinn, who was struggling to climb up the mast, its swaying motion making it seem as if it would fall onto the deck at any moment.

"You should have believed it sooner,"

the black cat said, swaying but refusing to fall. In its words, it wanted to climb to the top of the mast to see the ocean view.

"Master, we'll be at Yame Port in about half an hour!"

The former female pirate leader, now Hualuoshi's maid, loudly reported the itinerary.

Looking at Liv's beautiful and sexy back, everything that had happened before felt like a dream to Hualuoshi. After he and the black cat Quinn finished reciting the spell, and Liv awoke, the spell's effectiveness was definitively proven. Liv was still Liv; she herself hadn't changed at all, but something seemed to have been added to her memory. Hualuoshi was her master, and she would forever loyally follow him—a memory that was absolutely unwavering.

At the suggestion of the black cat Quinn, after settling the hurricane pirates, Liv sailed with Hualuos towards Yame Port, from where they could reach the capital of the Kingdom of Ruva, the City of Qin. As for why they needed to go to the City of Qin, according to the black cat Quinn: to unite the four divine artifacts, they first needed to find the remaining artifacts, and the closest artifact was in the hands of the Great Sage of the City of Qin, so naturally they had to go there first.

Speaking of the Great Sage, Hualuos had vague memories. He vaguely remembered that the Great Sage and the previous High Priest were good friends, and that she had even visited him when he was young. Hualuos only remembered that the Great Sage was a very gentle and calm person, but the specific details had long since faded with time.

"So how do we obtain the artifact from her? Borrow it from her?"

The black cat Quinn just smiled mysteriously. "She'll tell you when we get to the City of Qin."

At first, the sea voyage was quite interesting. As the leader of the Hurricane Pirates, Liv's familiarity with the sea was unparalleled. Under her helm, the ship sailed smoothly and swiftly toward its destination. However, after a few days, Hualuoshi, having grown tired of the seascape, began to feel bored. He had originally planned to have sex with Liv at sea, to experience this unique experience. But because Liv had to steer the ship and couldn't leave or be disturbed, Hualuoshi had to endure it with frustration.

The black cat, Quinn, finally managed to climb to the top of the mast, barking and jumping around.

Feeling bored, Hualuoshi squeezed next to Liv, asking her about the sea while taking the opportunity to grope her. His hands wandered to her breasts, kneading them. Nourished by his semen, her breasts appeared firmer and fuller, her skin as smooth as jade.

“Master, not now… ah…”

Liv groaned as Hua Luoshi invaded her legs, plucking her clitoris with his fingers. A few kneads were enough to make her legs weak, almost causing her to kneel.

Hua Luoshi’s fingers wanted to penetrate deeper into Liv’s vagina, but the beauty had already wrapped her arms around his neck and offered

him a sweet kiss. If Liv were to be described as an absolute beauty, every man would be grateful to have such a maid, and Hua Luoshi was no exception.

Every part of Liv’s body was incredibly alluring, especially her small mouth, which was one of Hua Luoshi’s favorites.

Liv’s tongue nimbly slipped into Hua Luoshi’s mouth, teasing his tongue, and when he tried to bite it, she deftly dodged, like a mischievous little imp.

Hua Luoshi’s devilish hand immediately grasped her breast, gently pinching her hard nipple. Liv groaned as her tongue immediately entered his mouth.

Like a lamb entering a tiger's den, Liv's tongue was immediately surrounded. The army of tongues that had been attacking her quickly encircled and captured her. His tongue sucked, licked, hooked, and teased her relentlessly, making her willingly fall into the sea of desire.

Aside from kissing, Hualuoshi made no further moves. He didn't want to keep Liv unable to do anything all day because of lovemaking again. Being anchored at sea for a day would drive Mr. Hualuoshi crazy.

Their tongues met, gently kissing each other. Although there wasn't much physical contact, the simple actions contained endless passion.

In the heat of the moment, Hualuoshi seemed to hear the meow of the black cat, Quinn, but he paid it no mind. This black cat always loved to jump around; restlessness was its motto, and it was difficult to get it to stay still.

"You're such a beauty! I really want to take you to bed and let you fully experience what passion and pleasure are all about,"

Hualuoshi said, lightly kissing Liv's nose.

“Master, there’s plenty of time ahead.”

Liv’s words were ambiguous. She not only wrapped her arms around Hua Luoshi’s neck but also deliberately rubbed her high breasts against his chest. The two hard protrusions at the tips further stimulated Hua Luoshi’s penis, making it erect and high.

Just as they were about to continue their flirtatious banter, Hua Luoshi suddenly felt a pain in his leg.

“Ah! What is that… Quinn? Are you crazy? Why did you bite me?”

“You two big idiots! I just saw on the mast…”

Before the black cat could finish speaking, a loud crash interrupted it, followed by a violent shaking.

Hua Luoshi nearly fell flat on his face. If Liv hadn’t caught him in time, he would have definitely kissed the deck hard.

In comparison, the black cat Quinn was more pitiful. It tumbled all the way to the bottom of the mast.

“It must have hit something!”

Liv’s experience was far richer than Hua Luoshi’s. She immediately judged the cause of the accident.

A strange cry rang out, clearly the cry of a wild beast, but it sounded unfamiliar, and Hualuoshi couldn't identify what kind of beast it was.

Liv's expression changed drastically. "Oh no! It sounds like a sea monster, a whale dragon!"

The two stood up and looked through the ship's railing in the direction of the sound. Sure enough, an enormous black creature was swimming on the surface of the sea not far ahead. Its size seemed almost the same as the ship itself; it was an astonishingly large creature.

The black cat shook its head, which was still dizzy from being bumped, and continued what it hadn't finished saying, "We saw a big black thing. Things don't look good. It seems to be coming for us."

"It really is a sea monster, a whale dragon! It will continue to ram us later."

Liv's expression was grave.

"What is a sea monster, a whale dragon?"

Hualuoshi knew nothing about them.

As the pirate leader, Liv knew these marine creatures like the back of her hand.

“Sea beasts refer to those large marine creatures, and whale dragons are a particularly ferocious type. Each of them has its own territory, and any other sea beast that intrudes will be fiercely attacked until one of them dies. As for why this whale dragon attacked us… perhaps it was in heat!”

“If it’s in heat, it should find a burrow to make love, how dare it harass Master Hualuoshi! This unreasonable fellow! Let’s take him down!”

Although he spoke with great enthusiasm, Hualuoshi knew he wasn’t up to the task, so he turned his gaze to Liv, knowing she was a formidable expert.

Liv smiled sweetly, “My master, watch your maid take down this wretched giant.”

Liv drew her weapon, a slender, exquisitely crafted sword that gleamed with an undisguised chill. This weapon was the renowned Sword of the Sea God; though not a divine artifact passed down from a goddess like Hualuoshi's High Priest Mirror, it was still a rare and formidable weapon.

Just as Liv had predicted, the whale dragon circled the ship once more before launching another menacing attack. Its attack method was simple yet insidious; instead of directly ramming the hull, it used the saw-like barbs on its back to swiftly slice across the hull, ultimately cutting it to pieces.

When it was about ten meters from the ship, the whale dragon let out a piercing cry, its massive body disappearing rapidly from the surface, poised to strike the hull from underwater.

"Child's play, die!"

Liv's gentle submissiveness towards Hualuoshi vanished completely; now, her face was filled with murderous intent, her movements agile and powerful—she was a veritable Valkyrie, this was Liv's true nature.

A flash of sword light slanted down from the ship's side, plunging into the seawater, causing the surrounding waters to churn.

A deep roar came from underwater; the ship remained unharmed, and the whale-dragon did not surface.

"Did you take down that wretched creature?"

Hua Luoshi peered towards the surface.

"Definitely not. A creature that big wouldn't die so easily."

The black cat, Quinn, jumped back onto his shoulder; this was its favorite throne.

Liv's face showed no joy at having defeated her opponent; instead, her expression remained grave.

"This is an adult whale-dragon, with an incredibly sturdy body. I just hit it, but it doesn't seem to have caused the slightest damage."

Hua Luoshi gasped. An impenetrable beast—this was truly troublesome.

"Roar!"

As the seawater churned, the whale-dragon surfaced again in the distance, its roar filled with rage; clearly, Liv's attack had enraged it.

The massive whale-dragon once again swam on the surface of the sea, occasionally leaping into the air, creating waves tens of meters high. Even more terrifying was its agility despite its size, especially its long, barbed tail, more ferocious than any whip.

Now even Hualuoshi knew the behemoth's purpose: it was circling the ship, searching for an opportunity to launch a fatal attack.

"Damn it!"

Although Hualuoshi had little combat experience, he knew the situation was dire. This cunning whale-dragon was lurking and watching from afar, making it impossible for Liv to attack. If this continued, it wouldn't be Liv who suffered in the end.

"What to do?"

Hualuoshi was at a loss and could only ask Liv for her opinion. As for the black cat Quinn, it would only offer terrible ideas.

Liv remained calm. The female pirate captain had already faced countless dangers; although this seemed difficult, it wasn't the most dangerous encounter yet.

"There are two choices: go into the sea and fight it, or force it to come and duel."

"How do you force this guy to duel?"

Hua Luoshi was very curious about this method.

"It's simple."

Liv put her finger to her lips and blew a very strange but high-pitched whistle.

Like a bull seeing a red cloth, the whale dragon in the distance immediately roared, emitting a sound even angrier than before.

Liv smiled at Hua Luoshi, "This is a whistle that all sailors know, called the Wrath of the Sea Beast. This tone is very similar to the sound of a sea beast's cub calling for help, so as long as you blow this whistle, you can successfully attract the sea beast's attack. Therefore, some people also call it the Song of Requiem."

Hua Luoshi's mouth dropped open. "Song of Requiem? I think it's more appropriate to call it the Song of Suicide."

He was joking, unless he didn't want to live, who would dare to blow such a whistle? But in this situation, it couldn't be more suitable. Moreover, there was no need to worry about attracting other sea beasts, because there wouldn't be any other sea beasts within a certain range where the whale dragon was.

Liv was right. In just a few seconds, the whale dragon was no longer just ferocious; it had gone berserk to the point of practically boiling the sea. This time, it abandoned its usual ramming tactics and charged straight at the ship.

"Quinn, hold on tight!"

Hualuoshi shouted, grabbing the mast. Judging from the whale dragon's stance, this was definitely a head-on collision, and the impact would be immense.

But Liv didn't think that way. She was even a little excited. The more challenging the battle, the more excited and tenacious she became. Defeating her opponent was what gave her the thrill.

Her blood was boiling, her fighting spirit was burning. Liv let out a clear roar, completely drowning out the whale dragon's grating howl.

"The wrath of the sea beasts is nothing to fear. Let me show you the wrath of the sea god!"

Liv leaped high into the air, and the Sea God's Sword shone with dazzling light, like the radiant sunlight.

"So cool!"

Hua Luoshi stared blankly at Liv's heroic figure, his mind already racing with thoughts of making her hold the Sea God's Sword while they made love next time.

Liv was completely unaware of Hua Luoshi's lewd and irrational thoughts; all she wanted now was to unleash her soaring fighting spirit.

The first to suffer was the enraged whale dragon. The power of the Sea God's Wrath was astonishing, striking its body directly. The whale dragon immediately let out a mournful roar, blue blood gushing out like a fountain, staining one side of the ship's hull blue.

The whale dragon suffered a fatal blow. Instead of crashing into the hull, it slid to the other side, but its massive tail still managed to strike the hull, sending splinters of wood flying everywhere.

"Again! Again!"

Liv revealed a side of herself that Hua Luoshi had never seen before—a side of madness.

This whale dragon wasn't a coward. Despite being severely injured, it circled around and charged back.

"You're courting death!"

Liv was miraculously floating in the air. It's known that many creatures in this world can fly, but humans are definitely not among them. However, some humans, after reaching a certain level, can temporarily defy gravity and fly

into the air; the stronger they are, the longer they can remain detached from the ground. Liv was one of those who had reached this level. This time, Liv didn't unleash the Wrath of the Sea God. She simply delivered a slash in the air, the blade grazing the massive, barbed tail of the whale-dragon as it swung.

There was no sound, and the whale-dragon didn't roar either, because the Sword of the Sea God delivered a fatal blow in that instant. Only when its body sank into the water did its massive form split in two. It turned out that in that instant, Liv's sword had cleaved the whale-dragon in two; her sword was incredibly sharp.

"Phew!"

Liv exhaled, her fighting spirit vanishing completely, replaced by a sweet smile. The speed of her change was astonishing.

"Master, I've taken care of that troublesome fellow,"

the maid boasted to her master.

Some men don't like their women to be too much stronger than them, as this severely challenges their ego. However, Hua Luoshi clearly didn't have this problem. The more capable Liv was, the happier he was, because it meant he would feel more comfortable having sex with her. Still relying on your hands? How can that be pleasurable? "Well done! I'll reward you properly when we get ashore."

Hua Luoshi let out a lewd laugh, the implication of which was self-evident.

Liv gave him a flirtatious smile, then prepared to take the helm again.

The hull trembled slightly, continuing to move forward with difficulty. The whale dragon hadn't caused too much damage to the hull, but it had more or less affected the ship's speed.

Liv frowned. "It seems we won't reach Yame Port within half an hour. At our current speed, it'll probably take an hour."

Hua Luoshi was slightly annoyed; he'd had his fill of exploring the sea, but only an hour remained before they could return to land.

A gentle breeze stirred, carrying the stench of the whale dragon's blood far and wide. Liv wasn't worried, though; while the scent might attract some creatures, those troublesome sea monsters wouldn't reappear within an hour.

"Strange, the smell is off. Why is the blood so strong? The whale dragon's carcass should have sunk to the bottom by now."

Liv was puzzled, a bad feeling creeping over her.

"Splash!"

Suddenly, a splash rang out, and a dark figure leaped onto the deck from the damaged side of the ship.

Liv reacted swiftly; before she could even see what it was, she had already drawn her sword and slashed. She didn't care what it was; in her mind, uninvited guests had every right to be attacked.

Unexpectedly, the dark figure withstood Liv's attack without retreating an inch. A whooshing sound followed, and a strange object attacked.

Liv was genuinely surprised. Although it was just a casual strike, it was still more than any creature could withstand. She quickly retreated to avoid the attack.

"Wow! What's that?"

Hua Luoshi reacted quickly, immediately hiding behind Liv with his black cat.

Indeed, the suddenly appearing creature was not only strange but terrifying. Its appearance resembled a werewolf, with sharp, gleaming fangs and a thick tail covered in barbs, each tipped with a barb.

This creature was at least two people tall, with a deep blue body, ferocious and terrifying. Roughly speaking, it bore some resemblance to a rare dragon.

A cold glint flashed in Liv's eyes, "Whale Dragon King!"

Hua Luoshi was immediately terrified. The large creature called the Whale Dragon was already difficult to deal with; this creature, called a king, was undoubtedly even more formidable.

Liv seemed to be explaining to Hua Luoshi as if talking to herself.

"The Whale Dragon King, a variant of the Whale Dragon, known as the King of Whale Dragons. Its strength is equivalent to a lower-ranking dragon. It's ferocious and cruel, and loves to tear its opponents apart."

"So terrifying!"

Hua Luoshi's scalp tingled. He quietly moved his feet, completely hiding behind Liv, but since he was slightly taller than her, he couldn't completely conceal himself.

The Whale Dragon King let out a harsh roar, its gleaming fangs flashing with deadly light. It didn't attack immediately, but slowly approached.

The pressure intensified. Looking at the Whale Dragon King's gaping maw, its swaying tail, and its sharp claws, a chilling feeling truly arose.

Liv, however, was fearless. Her only worry was that she might carelessly let the Whale Dragon King harm her master. Although the Whale Dragon King was terrifying, she was still stronger than it.

"Equivalent to a lower-ranking dragon, the Whale Dragon King... Hmph, take my strongest attack! The Secret Technique of the Sea God!"

Actually, Liv didn't need to use such an energy-consuming attack. If she relied solely on her strength to fight the Whale Dragon King, she could still achieve victory after half an hour. However, that wouldn't be the safest approach, because a slight misstep could allow the Whale Dragon King to harm Hua Luo Shi, something Liv couldn't tolerate. Therefore, a swift and decisive victory was the most correct strategy.

As Liv launched her attack, the Whale Dragon King let out a roar completely different from before. However, its roar was only half-finished before Liv's attack swept over everything.

"The Secret Technique of the Sea God" was one of Liv's strongest techniques, and also her most lethal attack. She had once used this move to punch hundreds of holes in a large ship in one go; before it even took on water and sank, the ship was reduced to fragments.

However, such a powerful attack also has many limitations. The biggest drawback is that it consumes a great deal of energy. Even with Liv's strength, she would be unable to launch any other attacks for several minutes after unleashing this strike. Without the certainty of a decisive victory, this tactic is undoubtedly quite dangerous.

Fortunately, few creatures can withstand Liv's full-force attack, and this whale dragon king was clearly not among them.

Although it was just a sea beast, it possessed the instinct to sense danger. Liv's ferocious attack made it feel that a fatal threat was imminent.

"Roar!"

The whale dragon king had no time to dodge. It suddenly lowered its body, curling into a ball, its massive tail lashing back and forth in the air like a whip, attempting to withstand Liv's overwhelming attack.

The meaning of "futile" immediately came to mind. The whale dragon king didn't even let out another roar. Its body split into at least ten pieces, scattering across the sea surface. Unlike the previous whale dragons, its blood was blood-red.

Without a doubt, this whale dragon king was dead beyond any doubt.

Sweat beaded on Liv's face; this attack had drained her of too much energy, and she needed to rest for a while.

Before Liv could fully relax, Hualuoshi's scream immediately tightened her nerves.

Liv whirled around, and the scene before her terrified her.

Less than three meters from Hualuoshi, a slightly smaller whale dragon king had silently slithered in and was now launching its attack, its sharp claws less than a meter from Hualuoshi's head.

"Too late!"

This thought flashed through Liv's mind. It happened suddenly, precisely when she was exhausted; she could only watch helplessly. Hualuoshi himself was already stunned; seeing the claws coming, his mind went blank.

"Buzz!"

A strange sound rang out, and golden light rose from Hualuoshi's chest. This light seemed tangible and substantial, instantly meeting the whale dragon king's sneak attack head-on.

Everyone present saw a flash of gold, the sudden burst of intense light causing them to blink involuntarily for a moment.

In the blink of an eye, Hua Luoshi suddenly realized that the attacking Whale Dragon King had vanished, disappearing without a trace as if into thin air, and everything returned to calm.

Hua Luoshi blinked, then hugged Liv, who had lunged at him, her face pale with fright.

"I think this world is quite wondrous!"

said the High Priest.

Chapter Five: Hating Flies

Port Alamo, hailed as the most beautiful port in the human world, is home to a unique feature: the Music Tree. This tree is incredibly beautiful, and every day at midday, when the sea breeze blows, it emits melodious and enchanting sounds. This beauty and sound further enhance the elegance and splendor of Port Alamo.

When Hualuoshi and Liv arrived, it was close to noon. The sea breeze carried them to the heavenly music, captivating even Hualuoshi, who knew nothing of music.

However, the black cat Quinn was a major spoilsport, dismissing the sound with disdain, saying, "This sound is worse than banging a broken gong!"

Port Alamo is about 300 kilometers from the City of Pianos. Given the distance, Hualuoshi and his companions certainly didn't want to walk. Renting a carriage in Port Alamo and comfortably reaching the City of Pianos was the best option.

An hour later, Hualuoshi, Liv, and the black cat were on their way to the City of Pianos in their carriage.

"Liv, you worked so hard on the ship!"

Hua Luoshi was very grateful to this beautiful and obedient female pirate. If it weren't for her protection, he would have become a snack for sea monsters long ago.

Liv smiled sweeter than honey and more beautiful than flowers.

"As my master's maid, I must always faithfully guard my master's side!"

"Then let my master reward you properly!"

Hua Luoshi reached out and hooked her chin with his finger, lifting her pretty face. His finger gently rubbed her red lips, and Liv obediently stuck out her little fragrant tongue to lick his finger. Her appearance was both obedient and sexy, making Hua Luoshi feel his big penis swell. He really wanted to push her down and have his way with her. But this was just a thought. Hua Luoshi didn't want others to see him having sex, even though he used to often peep at others having sex through the high priest's mirror.

Although he couldn't have sex to his heart's content, satisfying his desire for his fingers was still possible. Hua Luoshi pulled Liv onto his lap, his two hands splitting into two, one caressing her firm, supple thighs, the other reaching inside her clothes to fondle her breasts.

The clothes obscured his view, so he couldn't see exactly how Hua Luoshi's hands were touching Liv's skin, but the movements were evident in the curves of her clothing, and Liv's expression clearly showed that Hua Luoshi's hands were brazenly stimulating her sensitive areas.

Liv now looked incredibly alluring, her face flushed, her nose slightly damp with sweat, her lips slightly parted, her eyes glazed…

Hua Luoshi's lust flared, and he longed to thrust himself upon her, but the sound of horses' hooves interrupted his reverie.

Through the carriage window, Hua Luoshi saw a magnificent white horse gallop past the roadside. The horse was pure white, without a single blemish, and its physique was agile and imposing, making it quite alluring. Most striking was the small horn-like protrusion on its forehead. He automatically ignored the handsome man riding it. Hua Luoshi liked beautiful women and things that shone, but he absolutely disliked handsome men.

"A bastard, showing off on a fine horse," Hua Luoshi

commented.

Liv, however, seemed slightly surprised. "That guy looked like a white horse knight."

"What's a white horse knight?"

Hua Luoshi, of course, knew nothing about such things.

Liv explained, "White Horse Knights are a unique product of the Kingdom of Ruva. Every year when the Music Tree blooms, a knight selection competition is held. One must pass nine trials and three tests to become an apprentice White Horse Knight. Most importantly, one must gain the White Horse's approval to become a true White Horse Knight. Don't mistake these White Horses for ordinary ones; they are actually a branch of unicorns. They look no different from horses, but their strength is as formidable as a unicorn's."

Hualuoshi had heard of the legend of the unicorn. The Tower of Radiance contained numerous books, and reading and peeking were Hualuoshi's main ways of passing the time.

According to the books, unicorns were the mounts of goddesses in ancient times, but during the subsequent war of the gods, they betrayed the goddess and fled the battlefield. Therefore, these creatures were cursed by the goddess, their fertility extremely low, and they were on the verge of extinction.

Whether this is true is hard to determine, but the White Horse Unicorn's fertility is not low, which doesn't match the legend. Regardless of the legends, the power of unicorns is undeniable. Of course, there are many kinds of unicorns, but the most powerful is generally considered to be the Thunder Unicorn, whose power is almost comparable to that of the Thunder Dragon among dragons—it's incredibly strong.

"Hmph, what's so great about those guys riding white horses! One day, I, Grandpa Hualuoshi, will ride a dragon and show them! By the way! Which dragon is the most majestic?"

Liv covered her mouth and giggled. "Among dragons, the higher-ranking dragons are naturally the most powerful, but dragons of that level are extremely rare; at least I've never seen one. Speaking of majestic, the black thunder dragon, the red fire dragon, the silver magic dragon… those are all quite majestic."

Hualuoshi said with great pride, "If I could catch one of each of those dragons, that would be even more majestic!"

"Idiot!"

Black Cat Quinn poured cold water on him. "Are dragons so easy to catch? Use your brain, will you?"

Hualuoshi was already used to the black cat's sarcasm; he would automatically filter out such ridicule and pretend not to hear it.

"Baby,"

Hualuoshi whispered in Liv's ear, "Once we tame the dragon, we'll ride on its back and fly into the sky to make love, experiencing that rare pleasure."

Liv blushed, her neck turning red with embarrassment. Hualuoshi's idea was incredibly lewd, but undeniably, it was extremely stimulating, making Liv yearn to try it.

The carriage wasn't slow, but it would take at least a day to reach Qinzhidu. The horses couldn't run at full speed for long; they had to stop and rest after a while.

The carriage stopped at a place where travelers often rested. The scenery was pleasant, the temperature was moderate, and a babbling brook flowed by—a truly ideal place to rest. For the convenience of passersby, there was a small shop there, catering to travelers.

The appearance of Hualuoshi and Liv immediately attracted the attention of all the customers in the shop. After all, their combination was somewhat unusual; Liv's stunning beauty and the black cat on Hualuoshi's shoulder were things that drew attention.

Hualuoshi sat down at a table, glancing around. He immediately spotted the white-horse knight he'd seen earlier.

However, Hualuoshi had no interest in handsome men; to him, the allure of a beautiful woman was a thousand times greater than that of a man.

"Beautiful lady, may I sit here?"

Just as Hualuoshi and Liv sat down, a man's voice suddenly rang out beside them.

Upon hearing the voice, Hualuoshi was greatly annoyed; clearly, this was an attempt to flirt with Liv—utterly infuriating.

A man appeared before them—the very white-horse knight they had encountered on the road.

The man bowed slightly. "Hello! Beautiful lady, my name is Hollen, Hollen Madelan!"

Liv had no interest in such a flirt; if it weren't for the fear of causing trouble for Hualuoshi, she might have already drawn her sword and killed him. But when she heard the surname Madelan, a sense of surprise welled up within her.

The surname Madelan is not only famous in the Kingdom of Ruva, but also well-known throughout the world. The reason is simple: the family represented by this surname is most skilled in taming, taming all kinds of wild beasts, sea monsters, magical beasts... and even dragons!

With such abilities, the Madelan family became a prestigious family in the Kingdom of Ruva centuries ago, and at the same time accumulated a lot of wealth and power.

"Madelan? The tamer Madelan?"

"Of course!"

The white horse knight Hollen said proudly, "There is only one Madelan in this world, the great Madelan family!"

"Bullshit!"

Hualuoshi cursed inwardly, "What great Madelan family? I think it's a great dog shit family!"

Liv took Hualuoshi's hand under the table and said casually, "Whether you can sit down depends on my master's permission."

"Master?"

Hollen's voice was filled with undisguised surprise, and his eyes held a hint of envy and jealousy as he looked at Hualuoshi. Such a beautiful woman was someone else's maid, and this man was so ordinary.

Indeed, apart from being slightly handsome, Hualuoshi had nothing to boast about. Although his status as the Central High Priest was extremely noble, he dared not reveal it. Apart from that, Hualuoshi's clothing and demeanor were nothing special.

Despite his jealousy of Hualuoshi, Hollen did not show any rudeness and maintained his gentlemanly manners.

"Are you two going to the City of Qin?"

One has to admire this gentleman; he'd already come up with a pickup line in the blink of an eye.

Although Hua Luoshi wanted nothing more than to kick this guy into the sea, he knew he could only dream about it.

Seeing Hua Luoshi nod, Hollen immediately smiled. "Great! We're going the same way. Looks like this journey won't be boring."

"Going the same way my ass!"

Hua Luoshi wanted to say to him.

Despite his reluctance, Hua Luoshi had gained another companion on his journey—an annoying and clingy fly.

It had to be admitted that Hollen was a smooth talker; his words, actions, and handsome appearance could charm countless naive young girls.

However, none of this had any effect on Liv. She remained silent, letting Hollen ramble on, with Hua Luoshi answering all the questions.

"I've heard there's a great sage in the City of Qin. Have you heard of her?"

Liv spoke for the first time, asking a question.

"Of course I have!"

Having finally gotten a chance to show off, Hollen naturally wanted to make a good impression.

"Great Sage Liuyun, the Sage of the South, the only Great Sage, she is a most noble person."

Clearly, Hollen held the Great Sage in high esteem; his tone and expression were serious and respectful whenever her name was mentioned.

"The Great Sage's age this year should be… oh, it's impolite to mention the Great Sage's age, please forgive me. But she is still so young and radiant. I have had the honor of meeting her twice." Hollen

seemed quite proud as he spoke.

"So proud of yourself after only two meetings? I wonder what you have to boast about?"

Hualuoshi scoffed, but he understood the meaning behind Liv's inquiry about the Great Sage, as they were heading to the City of Qin to find her and obtain the divine artifact from her.

"The Great Sage once saved the lives of 70,000 people in El City. At that time, a terrible Black Death was spreading in El City, but the Great Sage entered El City regardless of the danger. A week later, all the patients there recovered their health. Her love and brilliance will live on forever!"

Liv had heard about the very life-saving El City incident, but Liv was just a child at that time, and many years have passed since then.

Hollen continued his incessant rambling: "And then there's the Wellington incident. A very strange thing happened in Wellington, in the Duchy of Elliot. In the end, it was only through the Great Sage's personal intervention that the peculiar phantom beasts causing the trouble were dealt with."

"Ha, and there's another very famous incident. The Great Sage also subdued the continent's most wanted criminal, Earl Lonan. This wanted criminal was no ordinary man; some say his strength rivals that of a mid-level dragon. He killed at least seven hundred bounty hunters and mercenaries; his strength was extremely formidable."

"And..."

"Stop!"

Hua Luoshi couldn't bear it any longer. If he listened to this rambling on and on, it would probably take three days and three nights. So he directly asked the question he most wanted to know.

"Excuse me, where can I see the Great Sage?"

"This..."

Hollen was immediately speechless. He thought for a moment, then said uncertainly, "Theoretically, the Great Sage should be on the Sage's Tower, but... it seems she hasn't been there for many years. The Great Sage's whereabouts are now unpredictable, and she's very difficult to see. Even nobles and royalty need luck to see her; if they're lucky, they might encounter her, like me."

As he spoke, Hollen revealed a smug smile.

"Ah!"

Hualuoshi was a little dumbfounded. If the Great Sage's whereabouts were unpredictable, how could he find her? Perhaps it would be a long time before he could fulfill his wish to meet her.

Liv gave Hualuoshi a reassuring look, signaling him not to worry.

Because there were outsiders present, the black cat Quinn pretended to be mute, observing coldly from the sidelines.

"Then how can we find the Great Sage, Mr. Madelan?"

"I think we should do this: you can stay at my house for now. With patience, you will eventually meet the Great Sage."

Hollen revealed his true intentions, making one suspicious of his motives.

Liv smiled slightly. Her extensive social experience allowed her to see through Hollen's purpose at a glance. His goal was simply to get close to her and achieve what men dream of. As for his claim of not knowing the Great Sage's whereabouts, it was impossible to determine whether this was true or a lie.

"Master, let's do as Mr. Madelan says, okay?"

Seeing Liv's expression, Hualuoshi, though not understanding her meaning, still agreed.

Hollen beamed with excitement, of course, unaware that the black cat was silently thinking, "What a fool, he'll be in trouble sooner or later!"

The City of Qin was finally approaching. In the distance, a tall, dark shadow could be vaguely seen, resembling a tower. Hualuoshi felt that the shape somewhat resembled the Tower of Radiance on Mount Bright.

“That’s the Sage’s Tower, the place revered by all the sages in the world,”

Hollen introduced.

Hua Luoshi suddenly felt a strange sensation; the Great Priest Mirror within him seemed to be drawn to something, or perhaps called upon—the feeling was peculiar. As for direction, the distance was too great to pinpoint.

“This is the City of the Qin, the most beautiful and noble city on the continent!”

Hollen declared proudly.

“The City of the Qin was designed and built by the most famous architect, Akaman. Although its history isn’t long, its magnificence and beauty absolutely surpass those historical cities! It’s not only beautiful, but also melodious! Have you heard of the Music Tree? Qin made from the Music Tree can produce the most beautiful and melodious sounds, and that’s how the City of the Qin got its name. Countless qins and beautiful music constitute the City of the Qin. Every evening, melodious and beautiful music envelops the entire city, intoxicating all who hear it.”

Perhaps it was this sense of superiority at work; Hollen went on and on praising the City of the Qin, belittling all other famous cities on the continent. In his words, only the City of the Qin deserved the title of a famous city.

However, Hollen wasn't entirely exaggerating; the City of Qin was indeed incredibly beautiful. As the carriage entered the city, breathtaking scenery unfolded everywhere, the streets were impeccably clean, and an atmosphere of harmony permeated the air.

Hualuoshi had no time to look around; he was troubled by a strange feeling.

Since entering the City of Qin, his previous feeling had become even stronger—that sense of being drawn, called, was ahead, in the direction of the Sage's Tower.

Hualuoshi was somewhat uneasy; he didn't know if this situation was good or bad, but he had a premonition that something wondrous would happen in the City of Qin.

Seeing Hollen riding his white horse, the pedestrians on the street bowed to him. White-horse riders held a very prestigious position in the Kingdom of Ruva; they were known as the guardians of the kingdom.

Hollen was always pleased with such situations, and this time he was especially delighted. It gave him face in front of the beauty; his handsome appearance, noble bearing, and respectable nature made him confident he could attract Liv. He didn't care that she was a maid belonging to Hualuosi; in this era, it was common for nobles to exchange maids—a very ordinary thing.

Thinking of Liv's beauty, Hollen couldn't help but feel a surge of heat. This woman was not only beautiful but also possessed a very special aura. Coming from a high-ranking family, Hollen had seen countless beautiful women. There were women as beautiful as Liv, but they all lacked something indescribable—perhaps a heroic spirit. In any case, Hollen had this feeling that this woman was the ultimate treasure for a man.

"I'm almost home, and the time to get this woman isn't far off, is it?"

Thinking of this, Hollen felt a burning desire. He had never looked forward to anything so much, not even during the White Horse Knight's test. "I've fallen in love with her!"

Hollen told himself.

"We've arrived!"

Upon reaching the Madland Mansion, Hollen greeted them politely. "Welcome to the Madland family." The night view of

the

City of Qin is unparalleled on the continent. Perhaps it's not the most beautiful city on the continent, but the City of Qin under the night sky is definitely one of the most beautiful and enchanting sights.

The sky above the City of Qin is exceptionally clear, with countless stars twinkling and casting soft light, creating a beautiful scene. The brightest light is from the lamp atop the Sage's Tower. Every night, this lamp shines, its light not glaring but exceptionally soft, enveloping the City of Qin and allowing the sleeping people to sleep more peacefully and sweetly.

The people of the City of Qin call the lamp on the Sage's Tower "our lighthouse," a very sacred existence, theoretically equivalent to the function of the Tower of Radiance. However, while the Tower of Radiance is revered throughout the world, the Sage's Tower is largely confined to the Kingdom of Ruva.

The city of Qin is very safe, and crime is virtually nonexistent near the Sage's Tower. However, in the darkness, two figures were advancing towards the Sage's Tower.

"Damn it, Liv, why did we have to come here in the middle of the night? But it's good we don't have to stay at that idiot knight's house anymore; that guy's face is just irritating!"

"Of course, Liv will always be Master's maid."

Liv wore a black bodysuit that made her look extremely sexy, highlighting her curves.

"That idiot knight is indeed annoying, but I did manage to get some internal information about the Sage's Tower, which will make it easier for us to find the Great Sage Liuyun."

"Tell me about it!"

Hua Luoshi immediately became interested.

"That idiot knight is lying, but it's a white lie. He said the Great Sage hasn't been in the Sage's Tower for many years, and her whereabouts are unpredictable and hard to find. None of that is true. The Great Sage is always in the Sage's Tower, and she only comes out when there's a major disaster. However, it's true that the Great Sage is hard to see, and the area around the Sage's Tower is a restricted zone, accessible only with the King's permission. Of course, none of this affects us. The only thing we need to be careful about is that it's said there's a guardian in the Sage's Tower, and to see the Great Sage, we need to go to the top floor."

"A guardian? It's not a dragon, is it? Haha, if so, we'll catch it and keep it as a pet."

Hua Luoshi was full of confidence, and this confidence stemmed from Liv's strength and the strange phenomenon that occurred when they were ambushed by the Whale Dragon King at sea, which made him confident that his safety was guaranteed.

Although it was designated a restricted area, unlike Mount Bright, the Sage's Tower wasn't guarded by any soldiers. This allowed Liv and Hualuoshi to easily break through the restricted area and approach the tower. The black cat, Quinn, wasn't with them; the mysterious cat had disappeared again, but Hualuoshi wasn't worried. He had

initially thought it would take some effort to enter the Sage's Tower, but Hualuoshi simply pushed the seemingly heavy entrance door, and it opened without a sound, as easily as opening two small wooden doors.

"How strange, this door opens with a push!"

Although it seemed eerie, Hualuoshi didn't care and strode inside. "Luckily, I got in so easily."

Liv stood guard closely beside Hualuoshi; she could sense danger. There must be a powerful expert here, and for Hualuoshi's safety, she dared not be careless.

The interior of the Sage's Tower was virtually identical to that of the Tower of Radiance. Hua Luoshi was intimately familiar with this design; he felt as comfortable as if he were in his own backyard.

"Don't be fooled by the empty hall and the lack of stairs; there are stairs, you just can't see them!"

Indeed, the first floor of the Sage's Tower was completely empty, just a vast hall. No matter how Liv examined it, she couldn't find any stairs leading up.

"Watch closely, your master is quite capable,"

Hua Luoshi said smugly.

It was no wonder he was so proud; there were probably no more than five people in the world who could find the stairs leading to the upper levels.

"This first floor is designed to prevent access to the top. Few people can pass through without the tower's owner's permission. Generally, only guests with the owner's consent can continue upwards,"

Hua Luoshi explained, summoning the High Priest Mirror.

The moment the High Priest Mirror appeared, a strange phenomenon occurred simultaneously. As if echoing the light emitted by the high priest's mirror, a glowing, circular staircase appeared around them, spiraling upwards to the top of the tower, where a luminous entrance awaited. "Alright, we can go up now."

"It's amazing! Even more amazing than the entrance to Iron Salt Mountain!"

Liv exclaimed in surprise. She tested the glowing staircase, confirming it could support weight and reach the next level.

"Master, I'll go first. You must stay close to me. I sense a dangerous enemy up there."

Hua Luoshi readily complied, immediately and cautiously following behind Liv.

The two ascended the spiraling staircase, circle after circle. Soon, after being at least thirty meters above the ground, they entered the next level, and the entrance closed.

"Watch out!"

Liv pushed Hua Luoshi aside. A bright flash of light swept past him, striking the wall with a loud bang.

"Who is it? Step forward!"

Liv shielded Hua Luoshi behind her, her expression serious as she stared ahead. She could clearly sense a formidable enemy before her; it was a pressure she had never felt before.

"It's here! The feeling is incredibly strong. The magic is definitely up there; I can feel it!"

Hua Luoshi was absolutely certain, and the enemy before him materialized.

Judging from its appearance, the enemy was human. He was tall, with a full beard, making it impossible to discern his features. The only thing he could make out were his lightning-like eyes. He held a peculiar weapon, like two swords crossed together, its design extremely unusual.

Seeing the strange weapon, Liv seemed to remember something, and her expression became more serious than ever before.

"Master, do you see the stairs behind that person?"

Hua Luoshi peeked out. "Yes, that must be the stairs to the next floor, but this guy is blocking them."

"Master, stay behind me. I need to get you up there first. This enemy is very troublesome; if you stay here, you'll be caught in the crossfire."

Hua Luoshi had never heard Liv speak with such uncertainty before. Even when facing the Whale Dragon King, she remained calm and composed. It seemed this enemy was truly extraordinary and extremely difficult to deal with.

“Be careful, remember! If you can't win, run. I have the High Priest Mirror protecting me, I should be fine.”

Liv gave Hua Luoshi a resolute look and took a deep breath.

A wind suddenly arose inside the tower, slowly growing larger in front of Liv, forming a whirlwind.

“Follow me!”

Liv's Sea God's Sword shone with a blinding light, merging with the whirlwind and surging forward. The strange man seemed startled, not expecting the woman before him to unleash such a fierce attack. Caught off guard, he dodged Liv's attack.

“Success! Quick, let's go to the next floor, I'll hold him off!”

Liv pushed Hua Luoshi towards the stairs, then turned and stood at the top. If he wanted to continue pursuing Hua Luoshi, he would have to get past her first.

The strange man could no longer pursue; he stopped, staring intently at Liv.

Until now, the strange man hadn't uttered a word, but his actions showed his attitude: intruders die.

The strange weapon was tilted, pointing towards the ground—a peculiar posture.

"Count Ronan, once the most wanted criminal on the continent, known as the Bloodthirsty Count, has killed at least a thousand people in his lifetime, also known as the Thousand-Man Slayer! His crucifix was invincible, unmatched in his prowess."

Liv immediately revealed the strange man's identity.

A cold glint flashed in Count Ronan's bearded eyes, but he remained silent.

"Legend has it that Count Ronan disappeared after being subdued by the Great Sage, his whereabouts unknown ever since. Now it seems he's become the gatekeeper of the Sage's Tower! Does the Great Sage have some physical or spiritual need, which is why he took you in?"

Liv's words were merciless, even insulting the Great Sage. In truth, she didn't harbor ill will towards the Great Sage; she did this only to provoke Count Ronan. This legendary former most wanted criminal on the continent put immense pressure on her, and only by provoking him could she find an opportunity.

Count Ronan still didn't speak, but Liv could clearly feel his rapidly rising anger, a raging torrent that might have triggered a heart attack in someone weaker.

Liv was not alarmed but delighted. Though the enemy was strong, their weaknesses were being exposed, and even the strongest momentum couldn't last.

"Come on!"

Liv's Sea God's Sword rang softly, challenging the Crusader.

"Buzz!"

As a weapon of equal rank, the Crusader trembled, responding to the Sea God's Sword's challenge. An invisible impact reverberated in the air; within this range, no creature could enter.

"Count Ronan, please attack first."

Liv's words grew increasingly vicious; a few simple words were enough to drive someone mad.

Count Ronan was indeed enraged, immediately launching a fierce attack.

The battle had finally begun.

The Crusader sliced through the air, slashing diagonally with the force torn through space. If this strike landed squarely, even a dragon would be annihilated.

Liv's Sea God's Sword swiftly rested on her arm, then bounced upwards with the vibration, meeting the Crusader's attack precisely. This head-on combat style wasn't Liv's forte, but she wanted to ascertain just how powerful Earl Ronan truly was.

"Boom!"

The two powerful forces collided head-on, and Liv was at a greater disadvantage. Earl Ronan staggered back several steps without flinching, while Liv was nearly thrown back, retreating more than ten steps before almost crashing down the stairs to stop her momentum.

"Such strength! Even a Hammer Dragon's strength is nothing special."

Liv was astonished by her opponent's immense power; it wasn't the strength of a human. She almost thought she was facing a Hammer Dragon, a dragon known for its strength. She hadn't expected the crucifix, supposedly designed for agility, to wield such power.

Her arm felt slightly numb, and Liv dared not let Earl Ronan build up his momentum to its peak, lest she be at a disadvantage.

"Again!"

Liv charged towards Earl Ronan.

"Boom! Boom! Boom!"

Three times in a row, despite Liv's main attack, Count Ronan's technique was extremely skillful, forcing the Sea God's Sword to clash head-on with the Crusader each time. Compared to Count Ronan's monstrous strength, Liv was completely at a disadvantage.

Liv's arm was almost numb; Count Ronan's strength was truly terrifying. If it weren't for her skillful techniques, she might have already given up.

"This guy is indeed powerful; I can't hold back any longer!"

Liv no longer engaged Count Ronan in direct combat. She suddenly accelerated, her body becoming as agile as a whirlwind, dodging the power of the Crusader.

Liv's figure seemed to transform into a wisp of green smoke, circling around Count Ronan. Whenever he had a gap in his defense, the Sea God's Sword would strike like a venomous snake. However, Count Ronan's Crusader was indeed worthy of its reputation. The uniquely shaped weapon spun in his hand, providing impenetrable protection, deflecting all of Liv's attacks.

However, passively taking hits was never Earl Ronan's style. With a flick of his wrist, he launched a counterattack.

The crucifix seemed to come alive in his hands, each strike appearing and disappearing unpredictably, and the sound of it cutting through the air left no doubt about the immense power it contained.

Liv was secretly alarmed, moving even faster. She hadn't yet figured out an effective way to deal with Earl Ronan, so she could only try to remain undefeated for now.

After repeated futile attempts, Earl Ronan immediately changed tactics. His burly body suddenly became as agile as a cat, his speed increasing dramatically, making it impossible for Liv to trap him in a circle of attacks.

The opponent's strength and difficulty greatly fueled Liv's fighting spirit. Her soaring fighting spirit burned brightly; fighting such an opponent was a unique kind of enjoyment.

"Earl Ronan, you are indeed powerful! Take this, Sea God's Wrath!"

The Sea God's Sword shone with dazzling light, illuminating the space.

Earl Ronan's eyes showed seriousness. Liv's attack this time was different from before; it was a powerful move beyond ordinary attacks, its power absolutely extraordinary.

"Guardian of the Mad God!"

Count Ronan finally unleashed his ultimate move, a pale golden shield appearing as he swung his crucifix to meet Liv's Wrath of the Sea God.

The shockwave from the impact seemed to make the Sage's Tower tremble, but this was an illusion; the Sage's Tower, like the Tower of Radiance, was virtually indestructible.

Liv was almost thrown backward, barely managing to maintain her stance, blood trickling from the corner of her mouth.

Count Ronan fared slightly better, though one side of his face was missing a considerable amount of beard.

In fact, the two were evenly matched this time, neither gaining the upper hand.

Count Ronan was also excited; such an opponent was truly rare. Even when he was the continent's most wanted criminal, he had never encountered a master of this caliber, let alone since entering the Sage's Tower, where no one had ever been able to enter again. Over the years, his ability to speak had almost deteriorated, but his burning fighting spirit remained undiminished. Today, he finally had the chance to unleash it once more.

"Berserker Cross Slash!"

Count Ronan's breath returned incredibly quickly; his cross-blade swept across his chest, charging like an enraged bull, its ferocious momentum terrifying to behold.

Liv could certainly dodge, but judging from the opponent's momentum, if she didn't confront him head-on, Count Ronan's aura would grow unstoppable. Clearly, Count Ronan worshipped the Mad God, and the Mad God's power emphasized momentum. Once a master wielding the Mad God's power accumulated their momentum to its peak, defeating them would be extremely difficult.

"The Mad God may be mad, but the Sea God is invincible!" Sensing its master's determination and courage, the Sea God's Sword hummed, and a light and shadow appeared behind Liv—the light and shadow of the sea.

In stark contrast to the previous battle, this time the clash of their ultimate techniques was silent. Count Ronan felt a trace of fear, the fear of death. Before his "Mad God's Cross Slash" could fully unleash its attack, his body's instincts forced him to dodge. With a soft

"clang,"

the crossbow slipped from Count Ronan's hand, flying high into the air before crashing into the wall and landing with a crisp sound.

At the same time, Count Ronan felt a chill on his neck, and drops of red blood dripped to the ground. He was just a hair's breadth away; if his reaction had been even a fraction slower, he would already be lying on the ground, his neck severed, never to open his eyes again.

Count Ronan touched his neck, looking at his blood-soaked hands, and a smile actually appeared on his face.

"Well done, finally someone can hurt me!"

He hadn't spoken in a long time, his voice was very strained and broken, but the meaning was very clear: he acknowledged Liv's strength, overwhelmingly so, despite the extremely brief praise.

Liv, however, remained calm; not a drop of blood stained her Sea God's Sword, the tip still pointing at Count Ronan.

"This is merely a minor wound to awaken you. Now let me see your true strength!"

"As you wish!"

Count Ronan roared, his voice faintly carrying the roar of a dragon. He didn't pick up his crucifix, but instead crossed his arms, forming a cross shape.

Count Ronan's roar had ceased, but the dragon's cry continued to echo in the space. Liv found the sound waves increasingly piercing, eventually reaching an unbearable level.

"Not good, this is also one of his attacks!"

Liv sensed the situation was dire; it seemed Count Ronan had unleashed his full power. She could no longer hold back; in this level of top-tier combat, any restraint would result in annihilation.

"Sea God's Profound Truth!"

This was Liv's strongest attack, but she didn't immediately unleash it. Instead, she added a layer to the "Sea God's Profound Truth."

"Sleeping soul, gently awaken from the sword, release your power, break through all obstacles!"

Liv was now using the legendary divine power enhancement, said to make attacks as powerful as if launched directly by a god.

Count Ronan's attack was no less formidable; his body radiated a pale golden light. "Berserker God Possession, Shatter!"

His massive body lunged through the air, engaging Liv in a final, decisive battle.

"Boom!"

This time the feeling was real; the Sage's Tower did indeed sway slightly, albeit a very small one.

Count Ronan was thrown backward, crashing into the tower wall before slamming heavily to the ground, covered in blood and lying motionless.

Liv was in slightly better condition; the impact sent her tumbling backward until she hit the stairs. Although she had no visible wounds, the blood gushing from her mouth indicated that her injuries were no less severe than Count Ronan's.

"I can't fall here! My master still needs me!"

Liv mustered her strength to try and stand, but the exhaustion from her attack and her severe injuries left her powerless. She struggled several times but couldn't get up, which only aggravated her internal injuries, causing her to unconsciously pass out.

She didn't know how much time had passed when she was suddenly awakened by a strange sound. She barely opened her eyes and saw Count Ronan shakily getting to his feet.

Liv was horrified. She struggled to get up, but quickly found herself powerless. Her energy had vanished without a trace, and it would take days to recover.

Liv watched helplessly as the Sword of Poseidon lay beside her, unable to grasp it. She could only watch as Count Ronan, covered in wounds and blood, slowly rose, leaning against the wall. Though his movements were extremely slow, he still retained the strength to move.

This revealed the difference in strength between Liv and Count Ronan. In terms of combat prowess, they were roughly equal, resulting in a draw. However, Count Ronan's physical condition was clearly superior, and he recovered much faster. Although Count Ronan looked wretched, at least he could still move slowly, while Liv had no strength left to fight back.

As Count Ronan picked up his crucifix and approached step by step, beads of sweat appeared on Liv's face, from pain and anxiety. This was torture; watching death draw closer, and being powerless to stop it, filled her with resentment.

Count Ronan's footsteps pounded like the drumbeats of death in Liv's heart. She watched helplessly as he approached, then raised his crucifix.

"It's all over, Master..."

Liv closed her eyes.

The crucifix reached its highest point, then, with the momentum of its descent, brought it down. With the weapon's sharpness, Liv had no chance of survival.

"Get out of my way! You'll have to ask me first if you want to touch my maid!"

In the nick of time, a savior suddenly appeared. The powerful Count Ronan was kicked and rolled a considerable distance across the ground.
