Snowdrift Manor.
Xue Youyou was intently playing with the jade flute in her hand, turning it over and over, examining it carefully, gently stroking it, as if it were her beloved. Her eyes were incredibly tender, and her movements incredibly delicate.

A girl in white appeared at the door, staring blankly at him.
Hua Yufeng arrived shortly after Hua Ruoxu entered, but when she saw him, she could hardly believe her eyes. The refined, elegant scholar of yesteryear had vanished without a trace. His white robes were almost yellowed, and his hair was disheveled, clearly uncombed for a long time. Seeing him engrossed in his meal, a strange pang of sorrow welled up inside her.
