Volume 4 Sword Dance Chapter 12 Huashan Contest (Part 2)

Hua Feimeng dragged Hua Ruoxu to her room, a smug look on her face. She hadn't actually left despite Hua Yufeng's threats and stayed as before. Ye Wuying, on the other hand, had left Huashan early that morning. She wondered what Hua Tianyun had said to her that had made her give up the idea of taking Hua Ruoxu away.
"Meng'er, you..." Hua Ruoxu wanted to say something but didn't know where to begin. She sighed and sat down silently.
"Ruoxu," Hua Feimeng called sweetly, her face displaying a captivatingly charming expression, "Shall we go find Hua Yuluan?"
"This, Meng'er, why do you want to see your senior sister?" Hua Ruoxu was startled and asked in a low voice.
"Didn't I already say that I'm going to tell her that I'm older and prettier than her, so I'll be the older one and she'll be the younger one?" Hua Feimeng said with a grin.
"Meng'er, don't joke around." Hua Ruoxu forced a smile, inwardly groaning. He knew Hua Yuluan's personality well; if Hua Feimeng really said that, she'd probably grab a sword and attack him in a fit of anger. Although he couldn't persuade Hua Feimeng not to come to Mount Hua with him, he never imagined she'd actually say something like that to Hua Yuluan.
"I'm not joking, I'm serious! Come with me! I keep getting stopped by your second senior sister who likes you but is too shy to confess when I try to find her," Hua Feimeng said, shaking his arm and pleading.
Hua Ruoxu's heart sank again.
"Meng'er, just stay here and don't go looking for your senior sister, okay?" Hua Ruoxu's tone was heavy, his voice low, with a hint of pleading.
"Alright then, I won't go, but you have to stay with me now, or I'll go find her," Hua Feimeng initially looked unhappy, but after her eyes darted around, she smiled brightly.
Hua Ruoxu nodded gently. Hua Feimeng looked very happy, throwing herself into his arms with a smug look on her face, though Hua Ruoxu couldn't see it. In truth, Hua Ruoxu's mind was in turmoil. He had promised Hua Tianyun, but dared not truly persuade Hua Yufeng. He was essentially hiding with Hua Feimeng, though of course, Hua Feimeng was unaware of this; she was secretly pleased with her successful scheme.
The two embraced gently. Whether by carelessness or intention, Hua Feimeng's door wasn't closed tightly, leaving a small crack that allowed those outside to clearly see their intimate moment.
Suddenly, Hua Yuluan appeared outside, her face ashen, her beautiful eyes blazing with anger as she glared inside, her teeth grinding together.
Suddenly, Hua Yuluan flicked her wrist, and the door silently crumbled into dust.
"You, get out of here!" Hua Yuluan's voice was as cold as winter ice. Her cherry lips parted slightly, and angry words poured out one by one.
"Senior Sister!" Hua Ruoxu seemed to have just realized that Hua Yuluan was standing in front of him. In a panic, he subconsciously tried to push Hua Feimeng away, but Hua Feimeng wouldn't let him. She tightly hugged his neck, unwilling to let go, and looked at Hua Yuluan defiantly.
"Hua Ruoxu, get out of here! I don't want to see you on Mount Hua again!" Hua Yuluan's body trembled slightly as she shouted hysterically at Hua Ruoxu.
"Hua Yuluan, how can you treat your husband like this? Fine, leave then." Hua Feimeng added fuel to the fire, speaking in a comforting tone, "Ruoxu, don't be afraid, I'm here. I'll go wherever you go."
"Hua Feimeng, stop talking nonsense here! Believe me, I'll kill you right now!" Hua Yuluan's anger began to shift onto Hua Feimeng.
"I'm not afraid at all," Hua Feimeng muttered softly, but seemingly unconsciously pressed herself even closer to Hua Ruoxu.
"Get out of here right now!" Hua Yuluan glared fiercely at Hua Ruoxu, then smashed the bed in the room to pieces with a single blow. She was clearly enraged, especially seeing Hua Ruoxu embracing Hua Feimeng, which fueled her jealousy. However, she didn't know that Hua Ruoxu was also suffering in silence; he simply couldn't push Hua Feimeng away.
*** *** ***
Hua Yuluan stormed into her room and smashed the dressing table to pieces. She felt incredibly wronged. She wasn't completely unaware of Hua Ruoxu and Hua Feimeng's affair; she could pretend not to know what he did outside. However, she couldn't tolerate him having an affair with another woman right under her nose, especially since he did it during his visit to her father.
“Sister.” Hua Yufeng felt a mix of emotions. She hadn’t expected Hua Feimeng to stay. By the time she realized it, it was too late; the expected outcome had already occurred.
“Sister, you’ve always been the most important person in Junior Brother’s heart,” Hua Yufeng sighed softly.
“Don’t speak up for him. Just think I, Hua Yuluan, have misjudged him!” Hua Yuluan said coldly.
“Sister, I’m not speaking up for him. He really cares about you. If you don’t believe me, look down from the window now,” Hua Yufeng said gently.
Hua Yuluan snorted coldly. She tried not to look but couldn’t resist. Hua Ruoxu was pacing back and forth below, his eyes constantly looking up, but he seemed afraid to come up. Hua Feimeng wasn’t beside Hua Ruoxu at this moment.
Seeing Hua Yuluan storm off in anger, Hua Ruoxu was frantic. He forcefully pushed Hua Feimeng aside and rushed over. However, upon reaching the foot of Luanfeng Pavilion, he hesitated for a long time. Hua Yuluan was undoubtedly furious, and he didn't know whether coming in now would bring trouble or good fortune. But seeing Hua Yuluan appear at the window, and seemingly looking at him, finally made him decide to come up.
"Go tell him for me, I won't see him," Hua Yuluan said angrily to Hua Yufeng as Hua Ruoxu entered.
"Sister, you tell him yourself. I'm leaving now. But there's something I want to tell you first: Junior Brother is a person, not those pretty pebbles you picked up," Hua Yufeng said softly.
When Hua Yuluan was very young, she liked to collect pretty pebbles to play with. She never let anyone touch the pebbles she collected. Once, Hua Yufeng, out of curiosity, took one and looked at it for a while, after which Hua Yuluan threw it away. However, ever since Hua Yuluan picked up Hua Ruoxu while collecting pebbles, she hadn't picked up pebbles again.

Volume 4 Sword Dance Chapter 13 The Twin Beauties' Love Tribulation (Part 1)

Hua Yuluan's face was tense. She had heard Hua Ruoxu's footsteps and knew he was behind her, but she ignored him, still feeling resentful. Hua Yufeng's words hadn't affected her.
Hua Ruoxu hesitated for a moment, then mustered his courage and hugged her slender waist from behind, softly calling, "Senior Sister!"
"Let go of me!" Hua Yuluan's tone was cold, but she didn't struggle.
"Senior Sister, I'm sorry!" This time, Hua Ruoxu didn't obey her, still holding her tightly, but his tone held some guilt.
Hua Yuluan struggled internally. She considered driving Hua Ruoxu away, but ultimately couldn't bear to part with him. However, if she let him do as he pleased, she couldn't bear it. For a moment, she hesitated.
"Senior Sister, please don't stay silent, okay?" Hua Ruoxu turned her body around, looking at her pretty face, and pleaded softly.
"I... I'll give you one last chance. As long as you agree to one request, I won't hold the past against you." Hua Yuluan seemed to have made a lot of decisions, taking a deep breath as she spoke.
"Senior Sister, please tell me! I... I definitely agree!" Hua Ruoxu was overjoyed, but he hadn't expected that Hua Yuluan's request was usually something he found difficult to accept.
"From today onwards, you are forbidden from leaving Mount Hua, from seeing Hua Feimeng again, and from seeing Jiang Qingyue." Hua Yuluan spoke slowly, each word like a hammer blow to Hua Ruoxu's heart. "Also, you are forbidden from seeing Xue Youyou again."
"Senior Sister, I, I..." Hua Ruoxu stammered, unsure what to say. This condition was truly unacceptable to him. Perhaps he could avoid seeing Hua Feimeng and Xue Youyou, but he could not avoid seeing Jiang Qingyue.
"What? You can't bear to part with them, can you?" Hua Yuluan forcefully broke free from his embrace, her face frosty, and said coldly, "You don't love me at all! I'm your newlywed wife, yet you left me for Jiang Qingyue; you could disregard my feelings for Hua Feimeng, openly meeting her under my nose; and you even gave the jade flute I gave you to Xue Youyou, do you know what that jade flute represents?"
"Senior sister, it's not like that, it's not like that, it really isn't like that." Hua Ruoxu was somewhat incoherent, then suddenly her heart skipped a beat, remembering a question, and her tone changed slightly, "Senior sister, how do you know that the jade flute was given to Youyou by me? Did Second Senior Sister tell you?"
"You want to know how I found out? Well, I'll tell you. Xue Youyou told me herself. That day, she brought people from the four great families here, openly telling others that the jade flute was evidence you left behind, but secretly showing it off to me, saying it was a token of love you gave her. You actually gave away the token of love I gave you!" Hua Yuluan's face flushed red, her beautiful eyes blazing with anger.
"Token of love? I really didn't know. Wasn't that a birthday present you gave me, Senior Sister?" Hua Ruoxu murmured, somewhat bewildered, a pang of sadness in his heart. He stared at Hua Yuluan, "Senior Sister, so you knew all along that I wasn't a womanizer?"
"I knew, so what? I'm going to make things difficult for you and that little girl Xue Youyou, so I admitted in front of so many people that it was yours," Hua Yuluan said resentfully.
"Senior Sister, do you know? I didn't have a single good day during that month. You know how much I longed for you to appear by my side and tell me that you believed I was innocent. But you didn't. Later, I learned from Second Senior Sister that you also tacitly admitted that I was a womanizer and didn't defend me. Although I was very sad, I still didn't blame you because I felt that you must have been deceived by them too, so how could I blame you?" Hua Ruoxu's voice was low, and a half-smile appeared on his face, a little sad and a little helpless. "But, Senior Sister, you clearly know that I am innocent, so why did you do this?"
Hua Ruoxu was very upset. Youyou framed him for no reason, which already made him very upset, but now he knew that the person he loved most was actually indirectly an accomplice to others. How could he not be heartbroken?
"That's your own fault!" Hua Yuluan coldly snorted, feeling a little guilty, but her pride prevented her from bowing her head.
Hua Ruoxu sighed softly. He shook his head, his eyes filled with disappointment, and slowly turned around, walking out of Hua Yuluan's boudoir. Hua Yuluan was slightly startled, opened her mouth as if to call out to him, but didn't. She glared at his retreating back resentfully, then sat down on the edge of the bed, sulking.

"Second Senior Sister." Hua Ruoxu, distracted, almost bumped into someone. In his haste, he looked up and saw Hua Yufeng. He called out to her somewhat reluctantly.
"Come with me." Hua Yufeng sighed softly and turned to walk into the Phoenix Pavilion.
Hua Ruoxu had been in Huashan for so long, but this was truly the first time he had entered Hua Yufeng's boudoir. However, at this moment, he had little mind to appreciate it; he only felt that it was somewhat different from Hua Yuluan's room.
"You know perfectly well what kind of personality my sister has, yet you deliberately provoke her. Do you really like that Hua Feimeng that much?" Hua Yufeng's tone was furious. Hua Ruoxu looked at her in surprise, having never seen her so angry before.
"Say something! Are you happy now that my sister is ignoring you?" Hua Yufeng felt a surge of inexplicable annoyance. Han Shuang seemed to sense the situation was turning sour and secretly slipped out of the room.
"Second Senior Sister, it's not like that. Master needed to see me, and I was on my way back from Master's place when Meng'er suddenly stopped me on the road. She wants me to go to her place." Seeing Hua Yufeng, Hua Ruoxu felt much better and calmer.
"You just go because Hua Feimeng wants you to? Do you really enjoy being with her that much?" Hua Yufeng seemed to have never been so angry before, glaring at Hua Ruoxu with a look of utter disappointment.
Hua Ruoxu suddenly felt a surge of inexplicable anger. Hua Yufeng had always been so gentle and trusting of him, but now she was scolding him.

Volume 4 Sword Dance Chapter 13 The Love Tribulation of Two Beauties (Part 2)

"I like being with her, but do you know why? Do you know why Master asked me to do this?" Hua Ruoxu suddenly roared at her.
"I don't know what Father asked you to do, but what does that have to do with you and Hua Feimeng?" Hua Yufeng retorted irritably.
"Master said you don't want to get married, so he sent me to persuade you!" Hua Ruoxu finally blurted out,
unable to contain himself any longer. "Is that so?" Hua Yufeng suddenly slumped down, a look of weakness on her face. "Does Father really want to marry me off so badly?" Hua Yufeng murmured to herself. Hua Ruoxu couldn't help but regret saying it aloud.
"Do you also want me to get married quickly, just like Father?" Hua Yufeng suddenly raised her head, staring intently at Hua Ruoxu, her eyes filled with complex emotions.
"Master said he wanted to fulfill Master's wife's last wish, to find you a good family, Second Senior Sister. I think Master is doing this for your sake, Second Senior Sister." Hua Ruoxu, somewhat afraid to look at her, turned her head away and whispered.
"I'm asking if that's what you think too? You've never lied to me since we were little, so don't lie to me today either," Hua Yufeng said softly.
"No, no, no," Hua Ruoxu cried out in his heart countless times, but no sound came out. He didn't know what to say, but he silently told himself: Hua Ruoxu, you must be content, otherwise, Master will not forgive you. However, another voice in his heart retorted: You can't do this, don't you understand her feelings now? You can't hurt her heart, don't lie to yourself, you can't bear to part with her either!
"I know, you don't need to say anything more, you can leave." Hua Yufeng's face slowly turned extremely disappointed, her originally rosy face became pale, and she waved her hand blankly, saying these few words seemed to have taken all her strength.
Hearing the soft sound of the door closing, Hua Yufeng finally couldn't hold back anymore, threw herself onto the bed, and sobbed. She had fallen for him long ago, drawn to his refinement, his scholarly air, his honesty, and his deep affection for her sister. She never imagined spending her life with him; she simply wanted to stay by his side on Mount Hua, silently watching over him. Yet, even this wish was unattainable, and it was he who shattered it.
Hua Ruoxu stood helplessly outside her bedroom door. The sobbing inside reached his ears clearly. He sighed softly, hesitating for a long time, ultimately unsure whether to leave or go in.
"Young Master, everyone on Mount Hua knows Miss's feelings for you. Why are you so foolish?" Han Shuang said indignantly. This little girl had been eavesdropping outside the door, and now seeing Hua Ruoxu trying to run away, she felt indignant for Hua Yufeng.
"Young Master, if you don't go back now, you won't be my young master anymore, you coward! I don't have a young master like that!" Han Shuang glared at Hua Ruoxu. Hanxue and Hanshuang have never been respectful to Hua Ruoxu since they were children, so naturally they are not afraid of him now.
Seeing that he still didn't react, Han Shuang angrily went inside.
Hua Ruoxu was filled with mixed feelings, unable to decide whether to go in or leave. If he left, he might regret it for the rest of his life, but if he went in, he didn't know how to explain it to Hua Tianyun or how to face Hua Yuluan in the future.
"Sister, tell me, what should I do?" Hua Ruoxu slowly closed his eyes, his heart filled with longing for Hua Tianxing. In the past, whenever he faced difficulties, Hua Tianxing would always appear in his heart at crucial moments. However, now she was gone.
"Little brother, didn't I tell you? Don't hurt the girls who like you, or I'll be angry." Suddenly, a voice echoed in his mind. Hua Ruoxu was startled, almost wondering if he was dreaming.
"Sister, is that you? Is it really you?" Hua Ruoxu called out in his heart, but there was no sound.
"Could it really be just an illusion? But that voice was definitely yours, I heard it clearly." Hua Ruoxu was filled with confusion.
"Sister, where are you? You must still be alive, you must be," Hua Ruoxu murmured to himself.
The crying inside seemed to have stopped. Without hesitation, Hua Ruoxu pushed open the door and went in.
"Xiao Shuang, you go out first. I have something to say to Second Senior Sister." Hua Ruoxu smiled slightly as he looked at Han Shuang, who was quietly comforting Hua Yufeng.
Han Shuang seemed a little surprised, but her face immediately lit up with joy. She smiled sweetly at Hua Ruoxu and ran out quickly.
"Don't worry, if anyone else comes to propose marriage, I will agree." Hua Yufeng stood up, her back to him. She seemed to have regained her composure, but her tone was somewhat cold.
"Second Senior Sister, are you serious? You have to keep your word." Hua Ruoxu asked with a smile.
"Of course I'm serious!" Hua Yufeng turned around and glared at Hua Ruoxu, feeling a pang of sadness and even more resentment.
"Second Senior Sister, I'm proposing to you now. You won't refuse, will you?" Hua Ruoxu looked at her with a smug grin, as if his scheme had succeeded.
"You, what did you say?" Hua Yufeng was stunned for a moment, unable to recover for a long time before asking blankly, starting to wonder if she had misheard.
"Second Senior Sister, may I marry you?" Hua Ruoxu took two steps forward, reached out and pulled her into his arms, whispering affectionately in her ear.
"Are you, are you alright?" Hua Yufeng pushed him away, her face full of suspicion.
"Second Senior Sister, I'm fine, I'm sincere." Hua Ruoxu felt somewhat amused and exasperated; he never expected Hua Yufeng to react this way.
"Alright, I'll take it as if I heard correctly, and I'll assume you're sincere, but let me tell you, I won't agree." Hua Yufeng took a deep breath, trying to remain calm, as if nothing had happened, but her slightly trembling voice betrayed her.
"Second Senior Sister, you can't go back on your word. A gentleman's word is as good as his bond. You just said you'd agree to marry whoever proposes." Hua Ruoxu felt a sense of helplessness. The saying "a woman's heart is unfathomable" was absolutely true.
"I'm just a woman, not some gentleman. Just pretend I didn't say anything, and let's pretend today never happened. From now on, you'll still be my junior brother—no, my brother-in-law—and nothing more." Hua Yufeng said quickly, seemingly anxious.
"Second Senior Sister, you can't just go back on your word like this!" Hua Ruoxu was both amused and exasperated. "You can go

back on your word,

so why can't I? You just told me to marry someone else, and now you're saying you want to marry me. You, a grown man, can be so fickle, so why can't I, a mere woman?" Hua Yufeng said calmly, leaving Hua Ruoxu speechless.
Hua Ruoxu stared at Hua Yufeng, who returned his gaze with equally wide, beautiful eyes. They stared at each other for a long time, Hua Ruoxu feeling incredibly awkward. He never expected things to turn out this way; Hua Yufeng's reaction was completely unexpected.
"Second Senior Sister, tell me, what do you want in return?" Hua Ruoxu finally gave up, ready to surrender.
"I won't agree to anything," Hua Yufeng said, her eyes darting around. "However, you can change your request; maybe I'll agree."
"Second Senior Sister, don't you know my request? That's all I want," Hua Ruoxu said helplessly.
"Then there's nothing I can do. I won't agree. Don't waste your time here. Go and beg your sister, otherwise, she might really never speak to you again." Hua Yufeng's current demeanor was completely different from her usual gentleness; she seemed to possess a touch of girlish capriciousness and willfulness.
Mentioning Hua Yuluan, Hua Ruoxu's face darkened slightly. He sighed softly and remained silent, the atmosphere suddenly becoming still.
"I'll go out first," Hua Ruoxu said softly, turning slightly away, his back view filled with desolation.
"Wait a minute, where are you going now?" Hua Yufeng called out to him, startled.
"I'm going for a walk," Hua Ruoxu forced a smile.
"Don't go! Are you going to see Hua Feimeng again?" Hua Yufeng flashed in front of him.
"My sister is angry right now, and you're still going to see her?" Seeing that he didn't speak, Hua Yufeng thought she had guessed correctly and said angrily.
"Second Senior Sister, you still care about me so much." Hua Ruoxu suddenly smiled brightly, his arms suddenly wrapping around her, and before she could resist, he lowered his head and kissed her cherry lips.
Hua Yufeng tried to say something, her hands gently pushing his body away, but she gave up after a while. Hua Ruoxu's hands tightened around her slender waist, gently sucking on her thin, red lips. Hua Yufeng's face, as delicate as a begonia, began to awkwardly respond to his kiss. Her body grew weaker and weaker, until she collapsed against him, utterly powerless.
"I won't leave, okay?" Hua Ruoxu whispered.
"No!" Hua Yufeng breathed softly, but resolutely refused. Suddenly, she found strength and forcefully broke free from his embrace, taking a few steps back. Her chest was still heaving slightly, showing how excited she was.
"Then, then I'll leave. I'll go back to my room and won't go looking for Meng'er." Hua Ruoxu felt a slight disappointment, but at the same time, he felt much more at ease.
“Go find my sister. I know her best,” Hua Yufeng said softly. “She wouldn’t want to share a man with any other woman, and I’m no exception. So, don’t come looking for me again. I don’t know what I’ll do if she finds out. But don’t worry, I’ll tell Father I won’t get married.”
“Although my sister hates you for being with other women, if you go to her now, she definitely won’t kick you out. Then, if you coax her, she’ll forgive you,” Hua Yufeng continued.
“I will go to find my senior sister, but not now,” Hua Ruoxu said calmly, his tone unreadable. He then gave Hua Yufeng a deep look. “I will come to find you later.”
*** *** ***
The melodious sound of a xiao (a type of vertical bamboo flute) rose from the summit of Mount Hua, piercing the clouds. Hua Ruoxu was intently playing a tune whose name he himself didn’t know. Mount Hua hadn’t heard his xiao for many years. The instrument in his hand was just an ordinary bamboo flute. Although its sound quality couldn't compare to the jade flute that Hua Yuluan had given him, the melody he played with all his heart still retained its charm because of the flute itself.
The sound of his flute conveyed his sorrow and bewilderment. Once, his heart belonged only to Hua Yuluan; he never imagined he would fall in love with anyone else. Yet now, more and more women surrounded him, and he didn't know what had changed him. Although he still deeply loved Hua Yuluan, no matter what she did, he still loved her. However, now he seemed completely unable to resist the advances of other young women; even today, he had taken the initiative to propose to Hua Yufeng. Why was this happening? Had his six months in the martial world changed his nature, or had it simply exposed it? He truly didn't know.
He couldn't give up Hua Yuluan; he would do everything she asked, yet she wanted him to leave the other women, and he knew he couldn't do it. He truly didn't know what to do.
The flute finally stopped, and a slender figure appeared beside him.
"Ruoxu, I think I should go. Perhaps I really shouldn't be pressuring you here, but I believe you will soon leave Mount Hua, and at that time, I will come to find you," Hua Feimeng said softly.
Hua Ruoxu watched Hua Feimeng slowly disappear, a wave of melancholy and unease washing over him. He was now deeply confused. Sometimes he truly wished that the events of the past six months were just a dream, a dream from which nothing would ever have happened when he woke up. Yet, he knew clearly that this wasn't a dream; everything was so real.
Hua Feimeng felt a faint sense of loss, yet also a feeling of relief. She could finally temporarily stop doing things she didn't want to do. Perhaps one day, she could love him without reservation.
"Sister Meng, has the mission been completed?" Reaching the foot of Mount Hua, a soft voice reached her ears.
"Holy Maiden, I'm sorry, I don't think I can do it. Actually, if it really had to be done, I think the Sword Master would be a better choice," Hua Feimeng said softly.
"Sister Yue has important matters to attend to and cannot leave," the Holy Maiden sighed. "Never mind, prepare to go to Jinling. There are more important matters there. However, if nothing unexpected happens, Hua Ruoxu will also be going to Jinling soon."
"Please speak plainly, Holy Maiden," Hua Feimeng said, slightly taken aback.
"Go to the Ye family in Jinling and kill Ye Wuying. At least make her lose her influence in the righteous path," the Holy Maiden said softly, her tone suddenly turning cold and stern. "We cannot allow anyone who can threaten our position to exist." (

Volume 4, Sword Dance, Chapter 14: A Message from the Heavenly Star (Part 2))

Hua Yufeng leaned weakly against the door, wanting to go out several times but ultimately forcing herself to stay.
Hua Yuluan sat quietly by the window again, the door slightly ajar, seemingly waiting for something.
The third watch drum sounded, but the light in Hua Yuluan's boudoir remained on. She was still sitting by the window when she finally heard familiar footsteps coming from behind her.
The light in Hua Yuluan's room went out, and at the same time, the light in Hua Yufeng's room also quietly went out.
Hua Ruoxu finally entered Hua Yuluan's room. As Hua Yufeng had said, Hua Yuluan didn't refuse him entry; she had been waiting for him. When Hua Ruoxu picked Hua Yuluan up in his arms, a slight smile of victory appeared on Hua Yuluan's lips. She knew he would come.
*** *** ***
Hua Feimeng's departure seemed to restore peace to Mount Hua. Hua Yuluan no longer asked anything of Hua Ruoxu, treating him with gentle tenderness.
However, things in this world always change too quickly. Early that morning, someone delivered an urgent letter to Hua Ruoxu.
Hua Ruoxu opened it with some doubt. Inside was a handkerchief embroidered with a beautiful woman—it was Hua Tianxing! And on the handkerchief were two words: Jinling!
Jinling—more than a month ago, this place name had frequently appeared in his mind for no apparent reason. At that time, a mysterious force drove him there. If it weren't for Xue Youyou's matter, he would probably be there already. Now he could finally be sure that Hua Tianxing was waiting for him there, because no one but her could draw her appearance so accurately.
Jinling, he had to go to Jinling.
"Senior Sister, I have to go," Hua Ruoxu said softly, gently embracing Hua Yuluan.
"Remember to come back soon." Surprisingly, this time Hua Yuluan didn't ask him why, but simply gently reminded him.
*** *** ***
The day after Hua Ruoxu left, Hua Yuluan also left Mount Hua, and on the seventh day, Hua Yufeng also left. Another major event had occurred in the martial world, but Hua Tianyun seemed to be planning to retire from the martial world, leaving these matters entirely to his daughter.
Among the major martial arts sects, except for the Demon Palace and its subordinate underworld sects, several disciples suddenly died. The causes of death were varied, but one thing was the same: the fatal wounds on their bodies were clearly visible, inflicted by the martial arts of other righteous sects. One Wudang disciple died from the Shaolin Vajra Palm, while another died from the Emei Sword Technique. Meanwhile, one Emei disciple died from the Kunlun Sect's Floating Sword Technique, and another from the Qingcheng Sect's Colorful Sword Technique. Such incidents had occurred one after another, too numerous to count, and conflicts arose between the various sects.
Ye Bu'er and his daughter Ye Wuying joined forces to gather representatives from the seven major sects and four great families at the Ye family residence in Jinling to resolve this conflict.
*** *** ***
Jinling, the land of six dynasties, was undoubtedly prosperous.
Hua Ruoxu wandered aimlessly through Jinling City. He had been there for a day, yet he couldn't find Hua Tianxing at all. The handkerchief only bore the words "Jinling," offering no other clues.
"Brother Hua, would you do me the honor of a drink?" A loud voice rang out above him. Hua Ruoxu looked up and saw someone raising a glass to him from the opposite restaurant. This person was someone he never expected—Feng Ping.
Hua Ruoxu sat down opposite Feng Ping. Feng Ping seemed to have changed considerably, or perhaps he hadn't, because he looked almost exactly the same as when Hua Ruoxu first met him, but not the same as before.
"Brother Feng, it's been a long time!" Hua Ruoxu sighed softly.
"Brother Hua, I, Feng Ping, am already content that you still call me 'Big Brother'." Feng Ping tilted his head back and gulped down a large mouthful of wine, then poured Hua Ruoxu a full bowl.
"Come on, let's finish this bowl." Feng Ping said, tilting his head back and drinking the wine in his bowl in one gulp.
Hua Ruoxu hesitated slightly, but didn't think much of it and also picked up his bowl and drank.
"I, Feng Ping, am a drunkard. I don't know how to express my apology, so I can only ask you, Brother Hua, to finish this bowl of wine." Watching Hua Ruoxu finish the bowl of wine, Feng Ping's tone became somewhat sentimental, "From now on, I, Feng Ping, am no longer your brother, because I don't deserve it!"
"Brother Feng, it's all in the past. Don't dwell on the past." Hua Ruoxu was silent for a while before saying, feeling vaguely that something was wrong. It seemed that something had happened to Feng Ping recently.
“Brother Hua, you are magnanimous and can forgive me, but I, Feng Ping, cannot forgive myself. I bid you farewell today. Before I leave, I'll give you one last piece of advice: Don't be too kind-hearted. Someone like me, Feng Ping, is not worth your acquaintance!” With that, Feng Ping flipped over and jumped out of the window.
“Have you not seen the Yellow River's waters come from the sky…” Feng Ping began reciting the poem “Bring in the Wine” again, his tone still as bold and unrestrained as when Hua Ruoxu first heard it, only now seemingly tinged with a touch of melancholy.
A wave of disappointment washed over Hua Ruoxu. He turned around, but froze.
She was still dressed in that emerald green, her face still so beautiful and flawless, still so endearing.
"Brother Hua, don't you recognize Youyou?" A soft sigh
escaped her lips. "Youyou, it's been so long. Are you alright?" Hua Ruoxu sighed softly. She was the one who had ruined his reputation, turning him into a notorious womanizer despised by everyone in the martial world. She was the one who made him endure the torment of being misunderstood, and she was the one who subjected him to constant pursuit. He had harbored resentment and dissatisfaction towards her, but now, seeing her suddenly appear before him, he felt an indescribable emotion. Although he didn't understand what this feeling was, he knew it wasn't hatred.
"Without Brother Hua, how could Youyou be alright?" Xue Youyou said softly.
Hua Ruoxu was puzzled, wondering what Xue Youyou was thinking. He had initially thought that Xue Youyou didn't want to be with him and was deliberately trying to frame him, but now it seemed that things weren't quite like that.
"Brother Hua, it's not convenient to talk here. Shall we go somewhere else?" Xue Youyou looked at Hua Ruoxu with expectant eyes, and he silently nodded.
On the Qinhuai River, Xue Youyou and Hua Ruoxu sat at the bow of the boat. Soft music drifted from the cabin.
The singing girl on the boat was puzzled; she had never seen customers like Hua Ruoxu and his partner come together before. However, as long as they paid, she didn't mind.

(Volume 4, Sword Dance, Chapter 15: Deep Affection (Part 1))

Hua Ruoxu also didn't know what Xue Youyou was up to, dragging him to such a place. Although he wasn't very familiar with the area, he knew it was a brothel.
"Brother Hua, do you think the women here are pitiful?" Xue Youyou suddenly asked softly.
"Perhaps, but they probably don't want to be pitied," Hua Ruoxu thought for a moment and said.
"Actually, not many people are born wanting to do these things. Perhaps they can live a luxurious life, but they long for a man who truly loves them, even if that man is poor," Xue Youyou said slowly, her face displaying a maturity beyond her years.
“Many men showered them with sweet words and vows of eternal love, but unfortunately, most of the time, these men only wanted their bodies and then discarded them. Brother Hua, don’t you think such men are irresponsible and shameless?” Xue Youyou stared intently at Hua Ruoxu, whose heart skipped a beat.
“Brother Hua, are you like those men?” Xue Youyou turned her gaze away from him, letting out a soft sigh.
“Youyou, I…” Hua Ruoxu vaguely understood her meaning and wanted to refute her, but didn’t know where to begin.
“Brother Hua, do you still remember the vows you made that day?” After speaking, Xue Youyou slowly rose, her body floating in the air before gently landing on the ground. Then, without looking back, she gracefully walked forward. Hua Ruoxu was slightly stunned, then quickly followed.
Xue Youyou walked slowly in front of him, and Hua Ruoxu followed closely behind, until they arrived at the inn where she was staying.
"Youyou, why did you come here alone?" Hua Ruoxu finally spoke.
"Why did you break your promise?" Xue Youyou didn't answer his question, but suddenly asked.
"Youyou, I will definitely do what I said I would do," Hua Ruoxu said softly.
"You said you would take care of me for the rest of your life, but what happened? You left secretly without even saying goodbye!" Xue Youyou shouted at Hua Ruoxu, "Don't you know that a man shouldn't make promises lightly? If he makes a promise, he must keep it."
"I originally wanted to ask your father for your hand in marriage, but before I could even speak, he told me that you were already engaged. How am I supposed to tell him?" Hua Ruoxu's tone was full of helplessness.
"My father is my father, and I am me. You're marrying me, not my father. Why don't you ask me yourself? Besides, even if I'm engaged, so what? Even if I'm married, you still have to keep your word. You said you'd take care of me for life, and unless I die, you'll take care of me!" Xue Youyou's pretty face was frosty as she stared fiercely at Hua Ruoxu, a gaze that made Hua Ruoxu feel uneasy.
"Youyou, I'm sorry, I shouldn't have left secretly." Hua Ruoxu sighed, a strange feeling suddenly creeping into his heart. How come he had never thought before that Xue Youyou was framing him for this reason?
"Brother Hua, I only have one question now: are you willing to keep your promise?" Xue Youyou's expression softened slightly, but her eyes remained fixed on him.
Hua Ruoxu nodded. Could he say no? Xue Youyou was right. A man's word must be kept; if he can't, he shouldn't make promises lightly.
"If someone forces you again, will you secretly run away again?" Xue Youyou said she only had one question, but she still kept asking.
"Youyou, I promise you now, unless I die, I will definitely keep you by my side and take good care of you." Hua Ruoxu said in a somewhat solemn tone.
"Really? That's great! I was really afraid you wouldn't want me anymore." Xue Youyou suddenly smiled, her soft body suddenly throwing herself into Hua Ruoxu's arms, her hands tightly wrapped around his neck, her tone suddenly becoming incredibly tender.
"Youyou, how come..." Hua Ruoxu was a little taken aback; Xue Youyou had changed too quickly.
"I ran away from home, and now nobody wants me. If you don't want me either, then I'll have nowhere to go, hehe, but now I don't have to worry about that." Xue Youyou giggled.
"Youyou, can you tell me now what exactly happened this time?" Hua Ruoxu was really not used to Xue Youyou's sudden change of heart.
"Can I not tell you? You'll definitely blame me if I do. I heard you're in a terrible situation, with people trying to kill you all the time. It's all my fault," Xue Youyou said coquettishly in his arms, unwilling to speak.
"Tell me, I won't blame you," Hua Ruoxu said helplessly. Although he could guess the general outline of the situation, he still hoped Xue Youyou would tell him herself.
"Hehe, Brother Hua, you're so kind. You said you wouldn't blame me, so I'll tell you then," Xue Youyou giggled and began to recount the whole story.
On the day Xue Youyou learned that Hua Ruoxu had actually left Piaoxue Manor, she was furious. So, without Xue Mingfeng's knowledge, she spread the news that Hua Ruoxu had raped her. Although Xue Mingfeng was enraged when he found out, he had to start thinking of a countermeasure. At this time, Xue Youyou took the initiative to suggest that Xue Mingfeng join forces with the four great families to issue a kill order, and then go to Mount Hua together to demand that Mount Hua hand over the perpetrator. She had long known that Hua Yuluan was inherently jealous, so she deliberately used the jade flute to provoke her. Hua Yuluan fell into her trap, and everything that followed unfolded naturally. However, Xue Youyou was unaware that Xue Mingfeng intended to use this opportunity to truly kill Hua Ruoxu.
"Brother Hua, let me tell you, this jade flute has a secret you definitely don't know," Xue Youyou said, feigning fear of Hua Ruoxu's wrath. In reality, she wasn't afraid at all, seemingly certain that Hua Ruoxu would dote on her.
Hua Ruoxu finally saw the words inside the jade flute. The words were incredibly small, and given how precious he had always been, he would never have looked at its inner layers like this. No wonder he hadn't discovered it before.
"May you understand my heart," Hua Ruoxu silently murmured to himself, lamenting the impermanence of life. If he had seen these words back then, perhaps he would never have left Mount Hua, and none of this would have happened. However, all those years later, he never discovered it, nor did Hua Yuluan tell him. Perhaps, in the grand scheme of things, everything was preordained.

Volume Four, Sword Dance, Chapter Fifteen: Lingering Affection (Part Two)

"Brother Hua, do you think Youyou's eyes are prettier or her nose is prettier?" Xue Youyou asked sweetly.
"Eyes," Hua Ruoxu replied casually.
"You mean my nose is ugly?" Xue Youyou looked like she was about to cry.
"No, Youyou's nose is pretty too," Hua Ruoxu quickly said.
Xue Youyou immediately smiled.
Looking at her bright and innocent smile, sometimes Hua Ruoxu really felt that she was still a child who hadn't grown up. She would always get hung up on small things, and she would be happy for a long time every time she received Hua Ruoxu's praise.
"Brother Hua, do you think my hair is the prettiest?" Xue Youyou started to act coquettishly in his arms again.
"Every part of Youyou's body is the prettiest," Hua Ruoxu already knew how to coax her.
"Hehe, Brother Hua, you're lying. How do you know every part of my body..." Xue Youyou giggled, then suddenly her face turned red, and she couldn't continue.
Her alluring appearance stirred ripples in Hua Ruoxu's heart. The passion in the stone house, her trembling and fiery body, seemed to reappear before his eyes. He gazed deeply at her, leaning his head slightly closer.
He gently kissed her pink cheeks, slowly moving downwards inch by inch, her cherry lips, her delicate neck, his hands beginning to gently caress her body.
Xue Youyou's body gradually grew hot, her body becoming softer and softer. Hua Ruoxu gently embraced her, pulling her into the bed curtains, his hands sliding inside her underwear, her clothes slipping off her flawless body piece by piece. Her crystal-clear, jade-like skin, her full, high breasts, her flat stomach, her slender legs stimulated Hua Ruoxu's eyes. His heart burned with passion, and raindrops of hot kisses fell on every inch of her skin. Her soft, seductive moans brought unparalleled allure. The two gradually became one, the bed curtains warm, their dreams rekindled, a night of passionate lovemaking, a goddess meeting Ruoxu.

“Brother Hua, wake up!” Xue Youyou gently tickled Hua Ruoxu’s nose with a strand of hair, calling out with a giggle.
Hua Ruoxu opened his eyes, only to be greeted by an unforgettable sight. Xue Youyou, engrossed in her play, didn’t care that she was still completely naked. Her sideways, delicate body looked quite alluring.
“Youyou, you’re so beautiful!” Hua Ruoxu murmured, suddenly pulling her tightly into his arms.
“Of course, Youyou is naturally beautiful.” Xue Youyou seemed to sense the heat in Hua Ruoxu’s heart, her pretty face slightly flushed, but she pretended not to know anything as she spoke.
Xue Youyou let out a soft moan, and Hua Ruoxu took her nipple of crimson flesh into his mouth.
“Brother Hua, it’s already dawn.” Xue Youyou said softly, somewhat shy, but seemingly not objecting, just a little embarrassed.
After another round of passionate lovemaking, the sun was high in the sky. Xue Youyou nestled gently against Hua Ruoxu's chest, the two embracing softly.
"Brother Hua, aren't you going to the Ye family?" Xue Youyou suddenly asked softly.
"The Ye family? What for?" Hua Ruoxu asked, somewhat puzzled.
"Don't you know many people are heading to the Ye family? The Seven Great Families and the Four Great Clans will probably be there." Xue Youyou was also surprised.
"I only heard that something happened, but I didn't ask in detail." Hua Ruoxu sighed slightly. These past few days, he had only thought about getting here as soon as possible to see Hua Tianxing, and had no time to care about anything else. But even after arriving, he still hadn't heard from Hua Tianxing.
Xue Youyou slowly told Hua Ruoxu about some recent events in the martial world. Hua Ruoxu frowned slightly, feeling a vague sense of unease, but unable to quite put his finger on it.
"By the way, Youyou, has something happened to Brother Feng?" Hua Ruoxu recalled seeing Feng Ping yesterday, who had acted strangely.
"I'm not entirely sure either. I just know he suddenly left my sister and ran off to the martial world alone. He used to be inseparable from her every day," Xue Youyou said after thinking for a moment.
"Strange, I always feel like something's off about him," Hua Ruoxu said to himself.
"I'm not really sure either. I told you I ran away from home secretly. After I left, that Su Dai'er burned down my house," Xue Youyou pouted. "Su Dai'er is so awful! You have to help me get revenge! She even burned down my house! I still have so many fun things I didn't have time to take out."
Hua Ruoxu thought Xue Youyou was angry because Su Dai'er burned down Piaoxue Manor, but he found out it was because her toys were burned.
"Brother Hua, I heard you and Su Dai'er are very close, is that true?" Xue Youyou suddenly asked, her eyes darting around.
"I know her," Hua Ruoxu said, unsure how to answer, so he just said something that was essentially meaningless.
"Next time you see her, make her pay for my things, or I'll never forgive her!" Xue Youyou pouted, looking sullen.
"The things are all burned, how can you pay for them? If you're going to pay me, your family seems to have a lot of money." Hua Ruoxu muttered to himself, but didn't dare say it aloud, otherwise Xue Youyou's tantrum might go on forever. Most of the time, Xue Youyou was like a child who hadn't grown up, and loved to play, but occasionally she showed a maturity that she shouldn't have, which puzzled Hua Ruoxu.
*** *** ***
The Ye family of Jinling was actually just Ye Bu'er and his daughter Ye Wuying. The Ye family seemed very wealthy, but no one knew where their money came from. Other major families had their own ways of making money, but the Ye family didn't.
Hua Ruoxu and Xue Youyou were on their way to the Ye family. Xue Youyou said she wanted to go out and have some fun, and Hua Ruoxu couldn't refuse her. Besides, he couldn't find Hua Tianxing, and wandering around Jinling City like a headless fly wasn't a solution. He figured that since Hua Tianxing had sent him, he would definitely come looking for him, so this was a last resort. He could only wait for Hua Tianxing in Jinling. Since Hua Tianxing hadn't come looking for him yet, going to the Ye family wouldn't hurt. It had been strange lately; no one had been chasing him anymore. Could it be that they were all too busy? Hua Ruoxu wasn't naive enough to think they had let him go.
However, once they entered the Ye family, would that troublesome Ye Wuying come back to cause trouble all day? When they reached the entrance, Hua Ruoxu hesitated again.

"

Youyou, do we really have to go in?" Hua Ruoxu was indecisive; going in would definitely bring a lot of trouble.
“Brother Hua, the major sects in the martial arts world are probably all inside. If I go in with you, we can clear your name of your past crimes,” Xue Youyou said sweetly.
“Youyou, don’t you understand? My crime was just an excuse for them. Even without that crime, they might come up with other ones,” Hua Ruoxu sighed softly.
“Youyou knows,” Xue Youyou said softly, “but I don’t want this excuse to involve Youyou. Do you understand, Brother Hua?”
“Let’s go in.” Hua Ruoxu nodded, took her slender hand, and slowly walked into the Ye family’s gate.
*** *** ***
The seven sects and four families had not yet all arrived, but the four great families had already come, as had Kunlun. Although the main figures from Shaolin, Emei, Qingcheng, and Wudang had not yet arrived, they could be considered representatives because they had always had someone by Ye Bu’er’s side and their influence in their respective sects was considerable. However, Huashan and Xueshan had not yet seen a single person.
The Snow Mountain Sword Sect is located far away in the Tianshan Mountains and rarely sets foot in the Central Plains, so their late arrival is understandable. Mount Hua, always the leader of the Seven Sects, wouldn't openly complain about their lateness, so everyone could only wait patiently.
"Master Ye, there are two people outside requesting an audience!" Besides Ye Bu'er and his daughter Ye Wuying, along with a few servants, the Ye family had practically no one else. Therefore, some of the subordinates from the four great families had become the gatekeepers. The burly man in black who came to report was from the Yue family.
"Oh, who requests an audience?" Ye Bu'er frowned, somewhat displeased, but showed no sign of it on his face.
"Hua Ruoxu and Xue Youyou, the second young lady of the Xue family," the burly man in black said.
"What?" Several people exclaimed simultaneously. These two were indeed unexpected. Xue Mingfeng's expression changed slightly, and he quickly stood up.
"Master Ye, I'll go out and see," Xue Mingfeng hurriedly walked towards the door.
*** *** ***
“Youyou, your father is out.” Hua Ruoxu smiled bitterly, not expecting Xue Mingfeng to be the first to greet them.
“Hua Ruoxu, you are indeed despicable! Youyou really has fallen into your hands!” Xue Mingfeng glared angrily at Hua Ruoxu.
“Youyou, it seems I’ll have another charge of abducting a woman.” Hua Ruoxu shook his head and smiled at Xue Youyou.
Xue Youyou giggled and leaned closer to Hua Ruoxu, their appearance becoming even more intimate.
“Hua Ruoxu, I will kill you now to rid the martial world of this scourge!” Hearing footsteps behind them, Xue Mingfeng knew others were on their way. His mind raced, and with a roar, he lunged at Hua Ruoxu with a palm strike. The fierce wind from his palm enveloped both Hua Ruoxu and Xue Youyou simultaneously. Hua
Ruoxu’s expression changed slightly. With a swift movement, he grabbed Xue Youyou and leaped a good ten feet to the side, dodging the attack.
Xue Mingfeng, having missed his first attack, showed no sign of giving up. A series of palm strikes rained down, the offensive growing increasingly fierce. Hua Ruoxu was shocked and enraged to discover that Xue Mingfeng's target was actually Xue Youyou, whom he held in his arms.
A surge of inexplicable anger welled up within him, and with a clear, resounding cry, Hua Ruoxu withdrew his Love Sword. "Heavenly Star Wrath," a flurry of sword flowers shot towards Xue Mingfeng.
The flashing cold light approached, and Xue Mingfeng's heart skipped a beat; he quickly withdrew his attack. The sword light vanished abruptly. Hua Ruoxu did not attack again, but coldly stared at Xue Mingfeng.
"Xue Mingfeng, as the saying goes, even a tiger doesn't eat its cubs. You actually don't even want to spare your own daughter!" Hua Ruoxu's eyes flashed with anger, his tone icy.
"Hua Ruoxu, you kidnapped Youyou and used her as a shield, and you still dare to say such things!" Xue Mingfeng also looked furious, showing no sign of feigned anger.
“Xue Mingfeng, I could overlook how you treated me before, because I could believe you cared about Youyou and were only doing it for her own good. But today, I finally know your true colors. In your eyes, Youyou is nothing more than a tool, a tool you use to achieve your own goals.” Hua Ruoxu held Youyou tightly in his arms, his gaze coldly fixed on Xue Mingfeng. “Tell me now, whether Youyou still wants to acknowledge you as her father or not, I will keep her by my side and take good care of her. If you still want to use her, don’t blame me for being impolite!”
“Youyou, let’s go. I really don’t want to see these people!” Hua Ruoxu said softly to Xue Youyou. Xue Youyou nodded obediently, tears glistening in her eyes. She glanced at Xue Mingfeng with a sorrowful look, then resolutely turned around and nestled against Hua Ruoxu.
“Wait.” A low shout rang out behind them.
"What instructions does Sect Leader Ge have?" Hua Ruoxu turned around and asked coldly. A hint of hostility flickered in his eyes as he looked at Ge Yunxiang. Ever since learning about the affair between Hua Feimeng and Ge Yunxiang, and discovering that Hua Feimeng still couldn't forget him, he had felt a deep aversion to him.
"If you're just going to leave like this, wouldn't that be incredibly disrespectful to us?" Ge Yunxiang said with a faint smile.
"Brother Hua, could you please let me go?" Xue Youyou suddenly said softly. Hua Ruoxu looked at her, nodded, and released his arm from her slender waist.
Xue Youyou slowly took two steps forward, her beautiful eyes slowly sweeping over everyone present before landing on Ye Wuying.
"Sister Ye, could you come here for a moment?" Xue Youyou said softly. Ye Wuying was slightly taken aback, nodded, and walked to Xue Youyou's side.
"Sister Ye, please check for me. Am I being controlled by anyone? Are my skills normal?" Xue Youyou raised her voice slightly. The people present vaguely understood something, but not entirely, because few truly knew the details of the affair between Xue Youyou and Hua Ruoxu. "
Sister Youyou, perhaps Wuying's abilities are limited. I can't find any trace of you being controlled," Ye Wuying sighed softly.
"I wasn't kidnapped by Brother Hua, and he has never violated my body. It was just that Youyou was being willful before, arguing with him, and thus wronged him. Today, I'm making it clear to everyone here that he is innocent." Xue Youyou's gentle voice clearly reached everyone's ears. "Sister Ye, I would like to ask you to provide a notarized statement to prove what I said today. In the future, if anyone uses Youyou's story to harm Brother Hua, please speak on their behalf."
"Youyou, there's no need to explain to these people. Let's go," Hua Ruoxu said softly.

Volume 4 Sword Dance Chapter 16 A Difficult Reputation (Part 2)

Xue Youyou suddenly smiled, as radiant and beautiful as a hundred flowers in full bloom.
"Brother Hua, Youyou doesn't want to walk," Xue Youyou said sweetly, her voice both sweet and crisp.
Hua Ruoxu smiled helplessly, and amidst the surprised and complicated gazes of the crowd, he picked up Xue Youyou's soft body and slowly disappeared from their sight. Ye Wuying watched their retreating figures thoughtfully, while the others clearly showed resentment and helplessness. Feng Congyun felt as if his heart was bleeding, his hand gripping the hilt of his sword tightly.
*** *** ***
"Youyou, don't be sad, I will take good care of you from now on." Back at the inn, Xue Youyou's originally radiant smile began to fade slowly, and Hua Ruoxu gently comforted her.
“Brother Hua, I’m not really sad. There are some things I’ve known for a long time, it’s just…” Xue Youyou trailed off, unable to continue. She buried her head in his chest, seemingly wanting to cry, but unable to.
Hua Ruoxu tightened his grip, a sense of confusion washing over him. He was an orphan, without parents. He didn’t know what real parents were like. In his eyes, his master was like a father. Although his life was primarily cared for by Hua Yuluan and Hua Yufeng, he knew that Hua Tianyun also loved him dearly. Although Hua Tianyun possessed exceptional martial arts skills, after his wife’s death, he rarely ventured into the martial world, devoting himself entirely to caring for his two daughters. He was certain that Hua Tianyun adored his daughters. However, not all fathers in the world seemed like Hua Tianyun. In Xue Mingfeng’s eyes, Xue Youyou didn’t seem like his daughter at all. Instead, she seemed like an enemy, and he even wanted to kill her without any mercy.
"Brother Hua, if one day you find out that Youyou is hiding something from you, will you ignore me?" Xue Youyou suddenly asked, tilting her head up.
"I promised you I would take care of you for the rest of my life," Hua Ruoxu said softly, looking at her with doting eyes.
"Brother Hua is still the best to Youyou," Xue Youyou smiled brightly.
Suddenly, the door was kicked open. Hua Ruoxu looked up and saw Hua Feihua standing there, looking furious.
"Hua Ruoxu, you bastard!" Hua Feihua cursed at Hua Ruoxu.
"Brother Hua, what have I done to offend you this time?" Hua Ruoxu was somewhat amused and exasperated. To be honest, he didn't dislike Hua Feihua, even though he often caused him trouble.
"I'm asking you, where is my sister? Has she been abandoned by you again?" Hua Feihua questioned.
"I don't know..." Hua Ruoxu was interrupted by Hua Feihua before he could finish speaking.
"Hua Ruoxu, let me tell you, I admit I can't beat you right now, but I'll never let you off the hook in this lifetime," Hua Feihua said bitterly. "You're a womanizer, fine, I, Hua Feihua, also often fool around, but I've never met anyone as fickle as you. I haven't even settled accounts with you for abandoning Qingyue, and I couldn't stop my sister from following you, you bastard. I thought my sister liked you, so I let it go, but I didn't expect that after only a few days, you would abandon my sister again."
"Brother Hua, please don't get so agitated," Hua Ruoxu sighed slightly. "Meng'er is only away from me temporarily, and Sister Qing has other things to attend to. I know you care about Sister Qing and Meng'er, so you can scold me however you want, I won't say anything. But what I want to tell you is that although I, Hua Ruoxu, am not a lecherous person, and I will never be fickle."
“That’s right, Brother Hua, Brother Hua is really nice.” Xue Youyou suddenly muttered, her sweet voice startling Hua Feihua, whose anger seemed to vanish instantly.
“Brother Hua, if you don’t mind, why don’t you sit down and have a drink and chat? I think our misunderstanding might be a bit deep.” Hua Ruoxu’s mind lit up slightly, as if he had remembered something, and he said.
“Brother Hua, Youyou has never drunk with anyone before.” Xue Youyou said sweetly.
Whether it was Hua Ruoxu’s sincere invitation or Xue Youyou’s charm, Hua Feihua actually sat down, and his hostility towards Hua Ruoxu seemed to lessen considerably.
“Brother Hua, all seven sects and four families have gathered in Jinling this time, it seems this place is going to be lively for a while.” After a few cups of wine, Hua Ruoxu smiled slightly.
"It's lively! Jinling is a wonderful place; I used to love it here the most." Hua Feihua's thoughts seemed to drift back to a few years ago. With his reputation as a playboy, it would be strange if he hadn't frequented Jinling's brothels
. "By the way, were any Hua family disciples killed or injured this time?" Hua Ruoxu asked casually.
"Yes, they died under the Qingcheng Sect's Colorful Sword Technique, a single fatal blow." Hua Feihua sighed.
"Do you really think it was the Qingcheng Sect who did it?" Hua Ruoxu pressed.
"Actually, I don't know. It's said that this matter can only be decided after all the sect leaders arrive. I'm just a junior in the martial arts world; there are many things I don't know." Hua Feihua thought for a moment and said.
"If the seven sects and four families become enemies because of this, who do you think will be the biggest beneficiary?" Hua Ruoxu pondered for a moment and asked.
"Of course, it's the Demon Palace. They can reap the benefits." Hua Feihua said without hesitation.
"The Demon Palace?" Hua Ruoxu couldn't help but think of Su Dai'er again.
"Brother Hua, you're not allowed to think about that Su Dai'er right now," Xue Youyou suddenly said sweetly, seemingly seeing what Hua Ruoxu was thinking. Hua Ruoxu blushed slightly, feeling somewhat embarrassed, but there was nothing he could do about it.
"I won't disturb you two anymore, Hua Ruoxu. For now, I'll believe you haven't wronged my sister and Qingyue, but if I find out you're lying, I'll come looking for you again," Hua Feihua said with a hint of loneliness. "Also, if my sister comes looking for you, remember to tell her to come to us."
"Brother Hua, you're so mean! How could you steal someone's sweetheart and even their sister?" Xue Youyou suddenly giggled.
Hua Ruoxu stared at her intently, saying nothing, his eyes gleaming with a burning light.

Volume 5: A Chaotic Night of Passion Chapter 1: The Divine Palace Appears (Part 1)

Xue Youyou, who had just been playing, insisted on drinking, and Hua Ruoxu had no choice but to comply. As a result, her face, which had never drunk alcohol before, instantly flushed red, making her look exceptionally alluring.
"Don't look at me like that," Xue Youyou said sweetly, seemingly a little embarrassed, but this only accelerated Hua Ruoxu's heartbeat, and he lowered his head to kiss her.
*** *** ***
The night was deep, it was the second watch of the night.
The passion gradually faded, and a faint blush remained on Xue Youyou's face. She lay obediently on Hua Ruoxu's body, and Hua Ruoxu felt almost infatuated with her body; the midnight conquest had left her somewhat tired. She gently closed her eyes, when suddenly a low whistle reached her ears. Xue Youyou abruptly opened her eyes, her expression changing slightly. Looking at Hua Ruoxu beside her, she raised her hand to press on his pressure point, but withdrew it mid-air. Listening to his even breathing, she seemed somewhat relieved.
Gently climbing off him, Xue Youyou quickly dressed, glancing at Hua Ruoxu on the bed with a hint of reluctance, before turning and floating out the window. Her expression instantly turned cold and stern.
Hua Ruoxu opened his eyes, opening his mouth as if to call out, but then held back. He put on his robe, got up, and followed her.
*** *** ***
"Greetings, Envoy Rou, to the Holy Maiden." Xue Youyou bowed gracefully.
"Youyou, are you with Hua Ruoxu now?" The Holy Maiden's voice was gentle.
"Yes, Holy Maiden," Xue Youyou answered honestly.
"Hua Ruoxu possesses a sword called the Sword of Love, as you know. That sword holds a secret, Youyou. What is that secret? You'll have to ask him," the Holy Maiden said softly.
"But Holy Maiden, didn't we say we didn't want the Sword of Love?" Xue Youyou couldn't help but ask.
"Legend has it that the Sword of Love hides unparalleled martial arts and countless treasures. We've already confirmed the existence of martial arts within it with Hua Ruoxu. We don't need the martial arts, but we urgently need money," the Holy Maiden sighed softly. "We can get the sword anytime we want, but we need to know its secret first. A divine weapon chooses its master. Since Hua Ruoxu is the Sword of Love's owner, I think he himself should be more likely to know the secret than we are."
"But why me? Couldn't the Sword Wielder and the Serenity Wielder also do it?" Xue Youyou asked, her voice trembling with tears.
“Youyou, isn’t it all the same who it is? We don’t want to harm Hua Ruoxu either, but I’m currently in a very dangerous situation. If we can obtain the secret within the Love Sword, perhaps we can overcome this difficulty more smoothly.” The Holy Maiden sighed softly. “Actually, we won’t harm his people, Youyou, so why are you so worried?”
“This subordinate knows what to do. This subordinate takes his leave.” Xue Youyou said softly, her tone seemingly devoid of any emotion.
“If you really want to know, why don’t you just ask me directly?” A faint voice rang out, and Hua Ruoxu appeared like a ghost not far behind the two of them.
“Brother Hua, you, how did you get here?” Xue Youyou was shocked, her face turning pale instantly.
“Youyou, didn’t I promise you I’d take you with me wherever I went? Now that you’ve run off alone, I was worried something might happen to you, so of course I followed.” Hua Ruoxu smiled slightly, speaking as if it were the most natural thing in the world.
“It seems Young Master Hua has been here for quite some time now.” The Holy Maiden’s voice rang out. Hua Ruoxu turned his head and looked at her carefully. She was dressed entirely in white, except for her black hair. Her face was veiled, obscuring her features, but even from that outline, one could sense her extreme beauty. Her slender figure stood proudly in the night wind, her white dress fluttering, her long hair rising with the wind, her beauty unparalleled and extraordinary. Her eyes were exceptionally bright, possessing a unique brilliance, like a deep pool of water, clear yet unfathomable, with an endless allure.
"How long I've been here is none of your concern, young lady. But there's something I can tell you now. There's no treasure or other secret within the Sword of Love. If you don't believe me, you can come and ask me yourself later, but please don't force Youyou," Hua Ruoxu said with a cold snort. "
Young Master Hua is indeed a man of deep feeling. I have no ill will towards you. Since you say so, I won't disturb you any longer today," the Holy Maiden's melodious voice rang out again. "Take care, Young Master Hua. Perhaps we will meet again soon."
The Holy Maiden drifted away, but before leaving, she gave Xue Youyou a deep look.
"Youyou, let's go back," Hua Ruoxu said softly.
"Brother Hua, aren't you angry with me?" Xue Youyou asked timidly.
"Silly girl," Hua Ruoxu sighed softly, picked up her delicate body, and quickly left. When Xue Youyou wanted to use the pressure point to put him to sleep but couldn't bring herself to do it, he knew that no matter the reason, he wouldn't blame her.
"It's almost dawn, go to sleep." Hua Ruoxu pulled her into the covers, helped her take off her outer garment, and then gently held her, speaking softly.
"Brother Hua, why didn't you ask me?" Xue Youyou finally couldn't help but ask.
"There's plenty of time. If you're willing to tell me, one day you will." Hua Ruoxu said softly.
"Brother Hua, have you heard of the Divine Palace?" Xue Youyou whispered.
"I have." Hua Ruoxu nodded.
"The Divine Palace has four envoys hidden in the martial world, and Youyou is one of them. Brother Hua, that's all I can tell you." Xue Youyou finished speaking and gently nestled against Hua Ruoxu.
"Youyou, whether you're the second young lady of the Xue family or a gentle envoy of the Divine Palace, I only know that you are my Youyou, and that's enough." Hua Ruoxu said softly, holding her delicate body tighter.
The two fell asleep in each other's arms, each with their own unspoken thoughts. What could be the relationship between the Divine Palace, the Demon Palace, and the Immortal Palace where he once spent some time? Xue Youyou was originally the second young lady of the Xue family, so why would she obey the Divine Palace? He remembered that the Immortal Palace once possessed martial arts manuals from various sects, and could the events currently unfolding in the martial world be a deliberate attempt by the Immortal Palace to frame various sects and incite conflict? If so, what benefit would the Immortal Palace gain?
Xue Youyou was also filled with mixed emotions. She was only sixteen years old, but in reality, she had known her true identity for many years. She originally just wanted to be a playful and mischievous little girl, but she was forced to become an envoy of the Divine Palace, bearing responsibilities she didn't want to bear. She gained a lot from this; she held a transcendent position in the Xue family, and even her father dared not offend her. She also possessed the extraordinary martial arts skills belonging to the Divine Palace. At the same time, she lost a lot; a maturity that shouldn't have appeared on her sometimes appeared, and she lost much of the joy that a young girl should have. She loved being pampered by Hua Ruoxu and preferred to be an innocent little girl in front of him. However, reality forced her to reveal her true identity to him.
