~Chapter Nine: The Hero of Blood, Section One~

Hearing the Third Young Master's roar, Hua Rong, already dressed, hurriedly came out and pulled the furious Third Young Master aside, asking, "Aren, what's wrong with you? Why are you so angry?"

The Third Young Master handed her the paper and said, "Look for yourself."

Hua Rong glanced at the words written on the paper, remained silent for a long time, and said, "Aren, this is clearly a trap. Gongzi Yu wants to kill you; he wants to force you to fight to the death."

The Third Young Master nodded and said, "I know, but this time I have no other choice."

Hua Rong asked, "What do you intend to do?"

The Third Young Master said, "I'm going to Dingzhou City to rescue them!"

Hua Rong shook her head and said, "Aren, you're too impulsive. There are hundreds of thousands of troops stationed inside and outside Dingzhou City, and Gongzi Yu has countless experts under his command. If you rush to rescue them, you won't be able to save them; instead, you'll get yourself killed."

"Then what do you suggest?" the Third Young Master retorted. "Are we just going to ignore them and sit here waiting for them to be killed?"

Hua Rong said, "That's not what I meant. I meant, let's think about it first, discuss a plan, and then go..."

The Third Young Master shook his head and said, "There's no time. If we rush from here to Dingzhou City, we won't arrive until sunset. By the time we figure out a plan, it will be too late to save them."

"But we don't have a single soldier under our command. How can we fight against the hundreds of thousands of troops in Dingzhou City?"

"My mind is made up, no need to say more!" The Third Young Master waved his hand to interrupt Hua Rong: "Brother Wei, Uncle Li, hurry up and buy horses, prepare to go to Dingzhou City! Rong'er, this matter has nothing to do with you, you don't need to go!" As he spoke, the Third Young Master hurriedly went inside to put on his clothes.

Qiao Wei and Uncle Li responded with a "yes" and rushed out of the inn to find the stables to buy horses.

Hua Rong looked at the Third Young Master, who was getting dressed, and said unwillingly, "Ah Ren, are you really willing to risk your life for two women? Without your life, what will you use to compete with Gongzi Yu for the world?"

The Third Young Master replied while dressing, "Without them, what use is the world to me? I once told you that I would use this vast land as a dowry to marry a woman, and that woman... is Song Qing." As he spoke, he finished dressing, picked up the bundle containing the dragon's roar, and walked towards the door.

As he passed Hua Rong, the Third Young Master paused and said, "Rong'er, thank you for your kindness to me yesterday. I may... not have the chance to repay you. Goodbye!" With that, he strode forward.

Hua Rong bit her lip tightly, her small hands desperately twisting the hem of her clothes until her lips turned white and the hem of her clothes was almost torn.

“Oh, right,” the Third Young Master suddenly stopped, turned back to look at Hua Rong, and a radiant, pure smile bloomed on his face: “If you were the one captured, I would still brave the pass alone!”

Tears suddenly streamed down Hua Rong’s face. Looking at the Third Young Master’s tall, imposing back, she felt as if she were looking at a deep, solemn mountain. She knew she would never forget that back; it was etched deeply into her heart, fused into her soul.

What of the empire, what of the empress, what of the grand cause—at this moment, in Hua Rong’s heart, all vanished without a trace. In her heart, there was only the Third Young Master’s departing figure, only the radiant, warm smile he left her with, and the whispered words he had uttered in her ear yesterday.

“Rong’er…I love you.”

The Third Young Master’s figure had disappeared from her sight, and her heart suddenly pounded wildly. She suddenly understood that in this world, she could lose everything—the Demonic Sect, the army, Tiger Roar, magic, even her life.

But she could never lose the Third Young Master.

Because she had lost the Third Young Master, she would have nothing!

Truly nothing, a consequence far worse than death!

At that moment, she made up her mind. She rushed into the room, hoisted the bundle containing the tiger's roar onto her back, and let out a clear cry, "Death Warriors, follow me!"

She charged out of the inn, the two martial death warriors who had guarded the rooftop all night quickly following behind her, like the most loyal shadows.

The Third Young Master galloped away, with Qiao Wei and Uncle Li on either side of him. Six more horses galloped alongside Qiao Wei and Uncle Li for relay.

The sound of hooves on the ground was like rain, and the rain fell like a curtain from the sky. In the vast rain, the Third Young Master's clothes and hair were already soaked.

Qiao Wei and Uncle Li were also drenched. They weren't using their internal energy to push away the raindrops falling on them; at this moment, they had to conserve every bit of their strength to ensure they had enough to kill once they reached Dingzhou City.

Qiao Wei and Uncle Li were never afraid of death; they didn't even know what death meant. In the most crucial moment, they had absolute courage and determination to die alongside the Third Young Master!

In the blink of an eye, nine horses carrying the three men rushed out of the town like a whirlwind. Amidst the pounding rain that shook the heavens and earth, the Third Young Master vaguely heard the sound of hooves behind him.

He thought it was just a hallucination caused by his anxiety and shook his head vigorously, trying to shake the sound out of his mind.

But the faint hoofbeats from behind didn't disappear; instead, they seemed to become even more rapid.

The Third Young Master turned around and saw a woman in a fiery red dress galloping through the overwhelming rain. On either side of her, two figures shrouded in black were running swiftly.

The girl's long hair was no longer flowing; it was soaked through by the rain. Her skirt ribbons were also no longer fluttering; they either clung to her body or hung straight down, scattering strings of glistening raindrops.

A warm current suddenly flowed through the Third Young Master's heart. In the raging rain, it was as if a fiery red sun had risen before his eyes.

He slowed his horse, waiting for the girl to catch up. Looking at her approaching figure, he shouted, "Why are you here? Didn't I tell you not to come? This has nothing to do with you!"

The girl raised her whip and lashed it at him without warning. He didn't dodge, letting the whip weakly strike his body.

"You dead man, how could you really bear to leave me behind!" the girl cried, her voice trembling. "What will I do if you die?"

"Then what do you want?" the Third Young Master asked calmly.

The girl stopped whipping the Third Young Master. She took a deep breath, wiped the raindrops from her forehead, and said, "Of course, I'll go to my death with you." With that, she smiled.

That smile was like a fiery rose blooming in the rain.

Tianjing City, Qin Mansion, Qin Xiaoyao's study.

"Father, the spy has been identified. It's a maidservant who serves Miss Qing," Qin Feng said. "But she's originally from the capital and we don't know who she works for. She only said that someone gave her a lot of money to infiltrate the Qin residence and keep an eye on the people there. As for the person who gave her the money, contacted her, and collected the information she sent out, she doesn't know who it is."

Qin Xiaoyao nodded. He didn't ask Qin Feng how he found the spy; he cared not about the process or method, but about the result.

"What did you do with that little maid?"

"I kicked her out of the Qin mansion." Qin Feng replied, "She was only greedy for wealth and status; she wasn't even a lowly soldier. There was no need to kill her."

"Did you find the search party that went south?"

Qin Feng replied, "Yes, we found them. At the entrance of a small village about 120 li from Tianjing City, all 100 people were killed. Each one was decapitated with a single, clean stroke. Those who examined the scene reported that half of them were killed before they even had a chance to draw their weapons, and the rest had their weapons only half-drawn. The deaths were exactly the same as those of the people who escorted Miss Qing and Xuanxuan, who were killed yesterday at noon. Even the Second Brother praised the killer's swordsmanship after seeing the knife wounds on the victims' necks yesterday."

“Then he must be a rare master,” Qin Xiaoyao asked. “Is there still no news about Qing’er and Xuanxuan?”

Qin Feng replied, “We have news, but we don’t know if it’s true or false.”

Qin Xiaoyao said, “Oh? Tell us about it, it’s better than nothing.”

Qin Feng nodded and said, “The spies in Dingzhou City have sent word that Gongzi Yu has seized Dingzhou, destroyed the Demonic Sect, and gained control of the Northern Frontier Army. Currently, all the commanders of the Hu tribe’s army are dead, and the newly appointed commander is Gongzi Yu’s heir and is cooperating with him. Gongzi Yu sent people…” "They captured Qing and Xuanxuan to lure Xiao San to Dingzhou City to rescue them, then set up an ambush to kill him."

Qin Xiaoyao chuckled and said, "This news is interesting. Since Dingzhou City was occupied by the Northern Frontier Army and the Hu tribes, there has been very little news coming in, hasn't there?"

Qin Feng nodded and said, "Exactly. Therefore, I suspect that the spies in Dingzhou City have been taken over by the Northern Frontier Army, and this news may be false. Gongzi Yu is a good-for-nothing; how easy is it for him to destroy the Demon Sect and seize military power from the Northern Frontier Army? Will Ximen Wudi let him succeed so easily?" "This news is probably meant to lure us into sending troops to rescue Xiao San, but although we have a large force, our combat strength is far inferior to the Northern Frontier Army and the Hu tribes. Sending troops there would only be like lambs to the slaughter."

Qin Xiaoyao slowly shook his head and said, "The news might be true. Gongzi Yu might not be as useless as the rumors suggest. People always wear masks and can disguise themselves. We can't make judgments before the intelligence is verified."

Qin Feng said, "Then what Father means is..."

Qin Xiaoyao said, "You and A Lei, A..." "Take Elder Nu and Elder Xiao to Dingzhou to investigate the situation. If the news is true, then find a way to rescue Qing'er and Xuanxuan. If it's false, don't alert them; just return quietly. Our current strength is too weak; there's no need to compete with others on the battlefield."

Qin Feng nodded and said, "I understand."

At four quarters past Chen hour, Qin Feng, Qin Lei, Tie Jian, Nu Hengmei, and Xiao Tianci, wearing straw hats and raincoats, rode swiftly out of Tianjing City, braving the rain towards Dingzhou City.

※ ※ ※ ※

At the end of Si hour, Zhuo Feifan sat on the city tower of the south gate of Dingzhou City, brewing wine and listening to the zither.

Rainwater streamed down the eaves of the city tower, making it appear from inside the tower like four beaded curtains.

Zhang Tianyun sat opposite Zhuo Feifan, drinking his wine while saying with lingering fear, "Luckily, I reacted quickly and decisively killed the two men who were following me; otherwise, I probably wouldn't have been able to leave the city."

Zhuo Feifan laughed, "Hearing you say that, Lord Zhang, it seems that Qin Ren's women are quite a handful!"

Zhang Tianyun shook his head and sighed, "Lord Zhuo is right. I'm just wondering, what's so good about Qin Ren? A dissolute rogue, a lecher, a womanizer—how come such a villain has so many intelligent and virtuous women devoted to him?"

Zhuo Feifan glanced at Zhang Tianyun, a half-smile on his face, and said, "Perhaps what puzzles you most, Lord Zhang, is that your charming junior sister has also fallen for Qin Ren." "?"

Zhang Tianyun sighed, his face full of grief and indignation: "That Qin Ren is truly hateful! If he hadn't appeared, my junior sister would already be married to me, and maybe even have children! Damn it, I, Zhang Tianyun, will kill Qin Ren in this lifetime. If he doesn't die, I have no reason to live!"

Zhuo Feifan smiled and said: "If Qin Ren is truly a man of loyalty and righteousness, he won't live past midnight tonight. If he's willing to give up those two women to protect himself, hehe... Lord Zhang, let's not kill those two women, but take them into our own rooms and ravage them day and night, so that Qin Ren can also taste the feeling of having his women taken away and being cuckolded!"

Zhang Tianyun nodded and said with a sinister smile: "Lord Zhuo is absolutely right!"

The two looked at each other and laughed sinisterly in unison.

In the center of Dingzhou City, four wooden platforms, each thirty feet high, had already been erected. The platforms were not yet fully completed, and the craftsmen in the army were working hard in the rain to finish them. Once the wooden platforms are completed, Song Qing, Tie Xuanxuan, Liu Yifei, and Yi Jingjing will be tied to them.

The platforms will be piled high with firewood and doused with oil. Even if Qin Ren truly possesses unparalleled strength, and manages to reach the platform in the center of the city, the fire will eventually destroy it, and the four women will perish.

Moreover, in Zhuo Feifan's view, the Third Young Master has no chance of reaching the platform.

The Northern Frontier Army's Divine Archer Battalion, numbering 10,000, is divided into four groups of 2,500 men each, guarding the south city wall and taking turns firing arrows.

Below the south city wall, outside the city, are 30,000 cavalry and 70,000 infantry from the Northern Frontier Iron Cavalry Battalion. As soon as Qin Ren appears, the 30,000 cavalry will charge in waves, followed by the 70,000 infantry. Even if Qin Ren possesses the Heavenly Dragon Roar, capable of defeating the Iron Cavalry and breaking through the 70,000 infantry, he will inevitably be exhausted and unable to fight further. As Qin Ren charged near the city gate, the Divine Bow Battalion on the city wall would unleash a barrage of arrows, and he would be a victim of their arrows.

Even if, hypothetically, Qin Ren could withstand the Divine Bow Battalion's arrow rain with the Heavenly Soldiers' defensive capabilities, once inside the city, every street and alley from the gate to the city center would be crammed with Northern Frontier infantry and Hu tribe infantry and cavalry. Beneath the four wooden platforms, the Hu Tutuha tribe's 30,000 archers would be on high alert. Even with Qin Ren's extraordinary abilities, he couldn't break through this death formation of up to 200,000 troops inside and outside the city!

Of course, the army inside and outside Dingzhou City numbered far more than 200,000, but this formation could only accommodate a maximum of 200,000; any more would be impossible to fit. Moreover, the other city walls also needed defense, and there was no guarantee that reinforcements wouldn't be sent from Tianjing City!

Two quarters past noon, the heavy rain gradually subsided. After the rain stopped and the clouds dispersed, the sun, which hadn't appeared for three days, shone through the gaps in the clouds, bathing the earth in gold.

The clouds quickly dissipated, and a huge rainbow appeared in the sky. Zhuo Feifan and Zhang Tianyun drank wine and listened to music while admiring the beautiful scenery.

"Why don't we invite the ladies up to enjoy the view together? Even if Qin Ren gets here as soon as he hears the news, he won't arrive until dusk at the earliest," Zhang Tianyun suggested.

Zhuo Feifan laughed, "Those two little girls from the Demonic Sect are still seriously injured and can't move yet, so let's skip them. It'll be too much trouble for them. Song Qing and Tie Xuanxuan can be brought up, though."

He then gave the order, and soon someone brought Song Qing and Tie Xuanxuan up to the city wall.

Tie Xuanxuan glared at Zhuo Feifan and Zhang Tianyun with wide eyes, while Song Qing looked at them with extreme contempt. Tie Xuanxuan's gaze was fine; her eyes were naturally alluring, like autumn water. Even when she tried to look fierce, she still exuded femininity. A few glares from her actually had a unique, captivating quality.

However, Song Qing's disdainful gaze was unbearable for Zhang Tianyun and Zhuo Feifan. Under her gaze, Zhang Tianyun and Zhuo Feifan involuntarily felt as if they had shrunk considerably, like ants wallowing in the mud, being watched by a fairy high in the clouds.

Zhuo Feifan avoided Song Qing's gaze and chuckled, "Why are you two ladies glaring at us? We're just following orders. Since it's still early, why don't you sit down and have a few drinks with us? In an hour or two, you'll be tied up on that high platform in the city, where you'll be exposed to the elements."

Tie Xuanxuan spat and retorted, "Shameless scoundrels! You dare to drink with me? With your character, you're not even worthy to carry my shoes!"

Song Qing smiled slightly and said, "Sister Xuanxuan, why waste your breath on such scoundrels? If they knew shame, they wouldn't be making things difficult for us two women." Zhang Tianyun,

inwardly furious, sneered, "You won't listen to reason, so you'll have to suffer the consequences! Let me tell you, whether Qin Ren comes to rescue you or not, after midnight tonight, you'll both become my and Lord Zhuo's playthings. Be prepared!"

Song Qing remained unmoved, smiling slightly, "If Aren comes to save us, after midnight tonight, even though I loathe bloodshed, I will make you wish you were dead."

Song Qing's tone wasn't harsh, but her extremely calm demeanor sent chills down Zhang Tianyun and Zhuo Feifan's spines. They exchanged a glance, neither daring to look at Song Qing.

Zhuo Feifan waved his hand, saying, "I originally intended to invite the two ladies for drinks, but things have turned out so unpleasant. Well, since you two ladies won't do me the honor, then please go up to the high platform now! Hmm, the rain has stopped, so you two ladies don't need to suffer from the rain and wind, but being exposed to the scorching sun for several hours is probably not a pleasant experience. I apologize for the inconvenience!"

~Chapter Nine: The Bloodstained Hero, Section Two~

The dark clouds in the sky cleared away, quickly becoming cloudless. The azure sky was so clear it seemed as if no rain had ever fallen. The scorching summer sun blazed down, relentlessly baking the earth.

Rainwater accumulated on the ground evaporated rapidly, the misty vapor seeming to distort the very fabric of space.

The two mountain ranges and three rivers that intersected around Dingzhou City shimmered with an inexplicable hue under the sunlight.

On a high platform in the center of Dingzhou City, Song Qing and Tie Xuanxuan occupied the eastern and southern sections, their bodies tightly bound to a cross-shaped wooden frame at the top.

Song Qing looked at her own bound position, then at Tie Xuanxuan's, and thought with a touch of self-deprecation, "Why do we look a bit like Jesus?"

The view from here was excellent; bound atop this thirty-zhang-high wooden platform, they could see far beyond Dingzhou City.

They saw that outside the city, the Northern Frontier Army's Iron Cavalry, clad in black armor, wielding long spears, and with sabers at their waists, stood in thirty neat square formations, ready for battle.

Behind the cavalry were seventy square formations of infantry.

The cavalrymen hadn't yet mounted their horses, sitting or standing beside them, sheltering from the sun's heat in the shadows. The infantry sat on the ground, conserving their energy.

The dark armor, like a metallic ocean, almost completely obscured the vast plain in front of Dingzhou's south gate.

Soon, Song Qing and Tie Xuanxuan felt the sun's heat, their heavy clothes soon soaked with sweat. Just as they were about to collapse from the scorching sun, Song Qing suddenly remembered that instead of wasting time here, she should take this opportunity to properly memorize the mantra of the "Time Waits for No Man" divine skill that Qiao Wei had passed down to her.

Unlike Tie Xuanxuan, although Song Qing had begun practicing the "Time Waits for No Man" divine skill, her foundation was still weak. Furthermore, this skill was left behind by a celestial being before his ascension, unlike mortal martial arts. Therefore, neither Zhuo Feifan nor Zhang Tianyun noticed that Song Qing actually knew a little bit of martial arts.

Therefore, Tie Xuanxuan's martial arts were restricted by acupressure, while Song Qing was not treated this way.

Song Qing began to silently recite the incantation in her mind. As she recited the incantation, she unconsciously visualized the route of true qi circulation, imagining a stream of qi rising from her dantian and flowing along her meridians. After completing one small cycle, Song Qing imagined that stream of qi from her dantian flowing into her eight extraordinary meridians. Although her meridians were not yet open, this was purely imaginary, with no actual true qi circulating, so imagining it was effortless.

Gradually, out of boredom, she silently recited the incantation thirty-six times, and the stream of qi originating from her imagination circulated through her meridians thirty-six times.

By the thirty-seventh recitation, the blazing sun had moved to the western horizon, directly facing Song Qing. The scorching heat of the golden sun shone on Song Qing's face, and Song Qing suddenly felt as if a vortex had formed within her body, continuously absorbing the intense heat.

The long-standing chilling sensation that had weakened her body seemed to lessen after the heat surged into her. A warm feeling rose throughout her body, as if sunlight were shining directly into her lungs.

Song Qing was instantly captivated by this feeling; it was a comfort she had never experienced since birth. This comfort was irresistible, so she imagined her true energy circulating even faster through her meridians. The faster it circulated, the faster she absorbed the sun's heat. Gradually, unnoticed by anyone, a strange change quietly occurred within Song Qing…

※ ※ ※ ※

The sun hung above the treetops on the mountaintop; it was sunset.

Song Qing gazed at the fiery red sun. Unbeknownst to anyone, her pupils had become quite eerie.

Each pupil had changed color, half golden, half jet black, intertwined and swirling like a black and white yin-yang symbol, slowly rotating.

Her pale face had now regained its rosy hue, and a faint mist was rising from it.

She discovered that her eyesight had become incredibly sharp; she could even see a lone rider galloping towards Dingzhou City from afar.

She clearly saw that on the back of the black steed was a young man dressed in black, with flowing hair and graying temples. The young man's handsome face bore the marks of time and hardship, and his once frivolous expression now revealed an unwavering, resolute determination, as if facing death without fear!

At this moment, however, the lone rider and the rider on the city wall were merely a blurry black dot in the eyes of Zhuo Feifan and Zhang Tianyun.

"Is that Qin Ren?" Zhang Tianyun asked, looking into the distance with some uncertainty.

Zhuo Feifan smiled slightly, took out a cylindrical object from his pocket, and handed it to Zhang Tianyun, saying, "This is a rare treasure brought by merchants from the Western Regions, called the 'Thousand-Mile Eye.' Although it can't truly see a thousand miles away, it can still clearly see within a few dozen miles. Lord Zhang, use it, and you can see clearly."

Zhang Tianyun took the "Thousand-Mile Eye," brought it close to his eyes, and looked at the small black dot moving in the distance. He immediately exclaimed, "It's Qin Ren! He's here!"

Zhuo Feifan smiled and muttered to himself, "I didn't expect Qin Ren to be such a loyal and righteous man! He actually came to save people all by himself! Alright, someone, take away the demon..." "Bring those two little vixens from the gate up to the platform too. I want to see how Qin Ren will save people today!"

Zhang Tianyun's expression revealed barely concealed excitement and exhilaration. His voice trembled slightly as he said, "Lord Zhuo, Qin Ren is doomed today!" Zhuo

Feifan nodded slowly and said, "Pass on my order: all troops, prepare for battle!"

The horns on the city wall wailed, and the 30,000 cavalrymen of the Northern Frontier Iron Cavalry Camp, who were deployed on the plain outside the city, mounted their horses simultaneously. The 70,000 infantrymen also stood up at the same time, and the 100,000 Northern Frontier Iron Army roared in unison like thunder: "Kill!"

This roar was like a giant thunderclap, shaking the ground as if it had trembled!

On the wooden platform, Tie Xuanxuan was startled by the sudden roar. She turned to Song Qing and asked, "Has he come?"

Song Qing smiled and nodded, saying, "He's here. He's come to save us."

Tie Xuanxuan, oblivious to the change in Song Qing's expression, looked towards the south where the army was amassed, her voice trembling slightly, and said, "How could he be so foolish? How could he really come? Doesn't he know that hundreds of thousands of soldiers are waiting for him, just to kill him?"

Song Qing smiled and said, "He's not foolish. He's just... unwilling to abandon his responsibility. Only a man like that is worthy of our love, isn't he?"

※ ※ ※ ※

As the sun completely set behind the mountains, and the horizon was dyed blood red by the last rays of sunlight, the Third Young Master finally appeared before the 100,000-strong iron army, who were standing ready in battle.

In this momentous occasion, the Third Young Master appeared.

Dingzhou City was destined to be engulfed in bloodshed today because of the Third Young Master's appearance!

He rode alone, unarmed, spurring his horse forward like a black lightning bolt.

The war drums thundered, and amidst the deafening roar, the first thousand-man squad of the Northern Frontier Iron Cavalry charged forward in a crescent-shaped formation, the two crescents at the front and the main crescent in the center, meeting the Third Young Master head-on.

The purpose of this formation was to encircle the enemy, trapping them in a pincer movement. Against another thousand-man cavalry squad, the Northern Frontier Iron Cavalry had a tenfold chance of victory.

Unfortunately, they were now facing the Third Young Master.

A deafening dragon's roar resounded, and a dazzling golden light rose behind the Third Young Master, instantly transforming into a five-clawed golden dragon that coiled above his head, baring its fangs and claws, before opening its massive maw to devour him.

Enveloped in the golden light, the Third Young Master appeared like a majestic sun god.

It was at this moment that the thousand-man cavalry collided with the Third Young Master. The dozen or so cavalrymen in the center of the crescent moon raised their lances and thrust them towards the dazzling golden light. Without a sound, the lances pierced the golden light, and then an incredibly strong suction force pulled the dozen or so cavalrymen and their horses into the golden light.

They were smashed to pieces.

It was the most complete pulverization; men, horses, clothes, and armor were all broken down into the smallest particles, leaving only blood spurting in the air and dust carried away by the wind!

The cavalrymen at the two sharp corners of the crescent moon flanked the Third Young Master from the left and right, surrounding him in the center. At this point, no one dared to rashly attack him.

The golden light dissipated, and the majestic Dragon Roar Armor appeared on the Third Young Master's body.

His blood-red cloak fluttered in the wind, its edges flowing with a metallic luster like blood.

Two strangely shaped swords, each ten feet long, appeared in the Third Young Master's hands. He clasped his hands together, joining the hilts of the two curved swords into one perfectly round, bizarre blade.

This was a ring-shaped blade, a full two feet in diameter, with the entire blade, except for the point where the hilts met, gleaming.

No one had ever seen such a blade before; it could be said to be the strangest blade in the world. How could such a blade be used?

The Third Young Master immediately gave his answer. He gripped the hilt with his right hand, exerted force, and threw it forward. The round blade transformed into a golden ring of lightning, spinning and shooting forward.

"Sizzle, sizzle, sizzle..." A dense, seamless metallic cutting sound rang out. Wherever the round blade passed, not a single Northern Frontier soldier could withstand its momentum; they were all sliced in half, weapon and all!

The Third Young Master, after throwing his round blade, charged forward on horseback, carving a bloody path through the enemy lines, breaking through the encirclement of the first thousand-man Iron Cavalry battalion!

Zhuo Feifan and Zhang Tianyun, who had been leisurely sipping wine on the city wall, ready to watch a good show, were stunned. They hadn't expected the Third Young Master to break through a thousand-man encirclement so easily!

Zhuo Feifan, looking at the 100,000-strong army waiting in battle below, suddenly felt a jolt of fear, and beads of cold sweat appeared on his forehead.

He suddenly realized he had made a grave mistake!

Although there were many troops inside and outside the city, not everyone could directly contact the Third Young Master, nor could everyone keep up with his unparalleled speed. Each time the Third Young Master fought, it was only the few who stood in his way. With Dragon's Roar for defense, he didn't need to worry about attacks from the rear or flanks; he could simply charge straight ahead!

With the Third Young Master's martial arts skills, coupled with the Heavenly Soldiers' Dragon Roar, how many masters in the world could stop him? Although the soldiers of the Northern Frontier Army are all battle-hardened elites, they couldn't even withstand a single light swing of his blade against the Third Young Master!

And the Third Young Master is the only one breaking through; everyone else is an enemy. He doesn't need to worry about friendly fire; he can simply charge forward and attack randomly!

In this way, the advantage of numbers is completely negligible. Those Northern Frontier Army soldiers who followed the Third Young Master after his charge are utterly useless!

"Wrong!" Zhuo Feifan threw down his wine cup and stood up. "At this time, we shouldn't send troops to intercept him. Instead, we should surround him with heavy troops after he has rescued his people and has any burdens around him!"

Zhang Tianyun also stood up. He stared intently at the Third Young Master outside the city, who had broken through the second thousand-man squad and was charging towards the third thousand-man squad. He said, "But if we withdraw our troops now, what if Qin Ren can rush into the city unimpeded and come after us?"

Zhuo Feifan's mind raced. He said, "The troops outside the city don't need to be withdrawn. Everyone inside the city, except for the Tutuha tribe's archers, should withdraw and make way! Lord Zhang, Qin Ren is as fast as lightning, invincible. We can't stay here long. We need to find a safe place to remotely command him."

After saying that, Zhuo Feifan and Zhang Tianyun hurriedly walked down the city wall. Twelve Ghost Shadows, Eighteen Night Demons, and Tianya Yidao followed closely behind them, escorting them down the city wall.

The Third Young Master had already broken through the third thousand-man squad.

He hadn't killed many along the way; in fact, he didn't need to. He could simply keep charging forward.

After breaking through three formations, the Third Young Master's warhorse finally gave out and collapsed.

He leaped from the saddle, soaring into the sky, striding through the air like a celestial horse, following the round blade he had thrown forward.

Another series of rapid, seamless cutting sounds followed. Where the round blade passed, it sliced a straight, two-zhang-diameter path of blood, severing all the Northern Frontier cavalrymen in its path at the waist.

The Third Young Master landed, kicking away the half-corpse on horseback, then turned his horse and charged forward.

The round blade's momentum had ended; with a mere flick of his wrist, the Third Young Master pulled it back from his palm.

He continued his frenzied charge, facing five thousand-man squads charging towards him.

Behind him, the three thousand-man squads he had passed turned their horses and pursued him.

Facing the five thousand cavalry ahead, the Third Young Master let out a roar accompanied by the metallic scraping sound. The sound waves of that roar, like a typhoon, swept outwards in all directions. The warhorses of the Northern Frontier cavalry were so terrified by this dragon-like roar that their hooves buckled, and more than two thousand warhorses simultaneously knelt on the ground, throwing their riders off their backs.

The Third Young Master then hurled his round blade. The blade, like the scythe of death, carried a nightmare from purgatory, mercilessly reaping the souls of any creature that dared to stand in its way.

No one could withstand this terrifying blade. The Northern Frontier Iron Cavalry's armor and weapons, forged through countless trials, were like tofu before this blade, crumbling at the slightest touch. Their bodies were even more vulnerable, unable to even slow the blade's momentum.

The Third Young Master charged forward, his cloak billowing like a fiery cloud in a black sea of steel, his golden dragon-roar armor illuminating the dark earth like a sun.

Where the golden armor passed, the blackness crumbled like a tide.

Looking down from the sky, a straight path appeared in the black sea. The hero, clad in golden armor and a blood-red cloak, was like an iron plow, carving a blood-red path through the black earth.

Blood spurted, limbs flew, and the celestial soldiers left behind by the gods swaggered across the earth.

Five thousand-man squads, broken!

The last two thousand cavalry charged forward again, and the Third Young Master hurled his round blade for the fifth time.

On the wooden platform in Dingzhou City, Song Qing and Tie Xuanxuan witnessed all of this.

Watching the Third Young Master galloping through the thousands of troops, Song Qing was momentarily reminded of her father.

When they broke out of Lingnan Prefecture that day, her father had used the same method as the Third Young Master, using his round blade to cut down all the enemies and carve a bloody path.

That day, she was terrified by the scene of blood everywhere and severed limbs strewn across the battlefield. She was so frightened that she couldn't eat or drink for days, and even refused to speak a word to her father.

Only now did she understand that such slaughter was unavoidable. Without killing, there was no hope of survival; if the enemy wasn't eliminated, she herself would die.

This was a struggle for survival, a bloody massacre forced upon her for those she loved, for those she wanted to protect, for those she valued!

Song Qing suddenly burst into tears.

For her father, and for the Third Young Master, her lover, who was now charging through the enemy lines single-handedly, a thousand men against one.

Just as the Third Young Master's solo charge attracted almost everyone's attention, no one noticed that five ghostly figures, moving at a speed imperceptible to the human eye, had slipped into the chaotic army, blending into the cavalry pursuing him. They moved constantly beneath the bellies of tens of thousands of warhorses, gradually approaching the walls of Dingzhou City.

By this time, the 70,000 infantrymen had surrounded him in shifts, and the Third Young Master was now engulfed in a sea of steel. His charge gradually slowed, and he struggled forward through the black ocean.

His warhorse tripped over corpses, but he was too lazy to change horses; at this point, walking was more convenient than riding.

He stopped throwing his round swords, disassembled them, and gripped a semi-circular curved sword in each hand, advancing while frantically hacking and slashing.

Crowds fell like harvested straw, and the crisscrossing sword energy cleaved a vacuum within a ten-zhang radius around him, blood spurting into the air, forming crimson curtains before scattering down.

With each step he took, he left a crimson footprint!

~Chapter Nine: Bloodstained Hero, Section Three~

The Third Young Master gripped the two semi-circular curved swords in both hands, let out a roar, and a sword beam fifteen zhang long erupted from the blades.

He stretched out his arms and spun like a top. The combined length of the blade and his arms, along with the blade's edge, sliced everyone within a seventeen-zhang radius in two with a single rotation.

He clasped his hands together, and the two semi-circular blades merged again. A flash of golden light, and the round blades transformed into a two-zhang-long horse-slaying saber.

Holding the saber in both hands, he charged forward for over ten zhang before slashing down with a single, chilling blow, clearing a straight path in his way. He gripped the center of the saber, which transformed into the hilt, while the side that had been the hilt became the blade.

Holding this double-edged sword horizontally in front of his chest, he used his lightness skill to charge forward, causing chaos and destruction wherever he went. Any Northern Frontier soldier touched by the blade was severed in two at the

chest. The Northern Frontier soldiers in front of him were cut in two at a distance of two zhang by the golden blade's edge!

The blood-red cloak behind him was terrifyingly fluttering, tearing anyone who got close to the Third Young Master to shreds!

In the Three Kingdoms period, Zhao Zilong of Changshan charged through Cao Cao's million-strong army seven times, as if entering an empty field; the Third Young Master was no less formidable!

Taking advantage of everyone's attention being drawn to the conspicuous Third Young Master, the five ghostly figures donned the armor and weapons of the Northern Frontier Army, using the chaos to find gaps in the crowd and advance closer and closer to the walls of Dingzhou City. While

others were charging towards the Third Young Master, they were charging against the flow of the crowd towards Dingzhou City. Of course, some questioned their direction of attack and even cursed them, but almost without exception, those who did die mysteriously, silently turning to ashes.

Such people were a minority; the vast majority of the Northern Frontier Army soldiers were captivated by the Third Young Master, and few paid attention to these five figures, like five drops of water in the ocean.

They even surpassed the Third Young Master; when the Third Young Master was still more than five li from the city wall of Dingzhou, they were less than a li away.

After escorting Zhuo Feifan and Zhang Tianyun to safety, they returned to the city wall to continue monitoring the situation outside the city, relaying the battlefield situation to Zhuo Feifan at any time. The eight members of the Eighteen Yakshas, who were relaying orders for Zhuo Feifan, spotted five people mixed in with tens of thousands of troops, sneaking towards Dingzhou against the tide of the crowd.

"What's going on with those people?" One of the Eighteen Yakshas, the Sea Yaksha, pointed in the direction of the five people and said, "Everyone else is rushing forward, why are they retreating instead?"

"Something's not right," another of the Eighteen Yakshas, the Inuyasha, frowned and said, "Look closely, they're moving so easily against the flow of tens of thousands of people. Anyone who gets close to them seems to be pushed aside by an invisible wall of energy. They appear to be finding gaps in the crowd to advance, but in fact, those gaps are all created by themselves!"

"They're definitely experts!" another female Yaksha said, "Qin Ren didn't come alone; he brought experts to help him!"

"Let me try!" the Sea Yaksha said, snatching an iron bow from a nearby archer from the Divine Archery Camp. He nocked four iron arrows, aimed at one of the people, drew the bow to its full extent, poured his powerful inner energy into the arrows, and released them suddenly. The four arrows emitted a shrill whistle, shooting towards one of the five people like four black meteors.

His archery skills were incredibly accurate; not a single one of the four arrows missed its mark, all heading straight for the man's face. After the arrows were released, the eight yakshas stared intently at the man. Just as the iron arrows were about to strike his head, he lightly flicked his wrist, and the four arrows changed direction, flying into the crowd beside him and pinning four innocent Northern Frontier infantrymen to the ground.

"Such profound skill!" Sea Yaksha exclaimed, "His skill is definitely above mine! Quickly report to Lord Zhuo, the eight of us can't stop them from scaling the city walls!" Upon hearing this,

Blood Yaksha, one of the eighteen yakshas, quickly ran down the city wall towards the direction of Zhuo Feifan and Zhang Tianyun, while the other seven yakshas anxiously watched the movements of the five experts.

"Let's just shoot them to death with a hail of arrows!" Inuyasha suggested.

Hai Yacha shook his head and said in a deep voice, "With so many people below the city, if we fire arrows, we might accidentally injure our own men. Damn it, we can't let the men below retreat either. Now... aren't the Divine Bow Battalion just for show on the city walls?"

Indeed, the archers on the city walls were useless.

The area below was in chaos. Apart from a few enemies, the rest were all Northern Frontier Army soldiers. A volley of arrows would not kill the enemies but would instead kill many of their own. It wouldn't be easy for the troops below to retreat. If there were no troops blocking their way, the Third Young Master could probably reach the city walls in just a few strides. Even if the Divine Bow Battalion fired arrows, they might not be able to hit him. Even if they could hit him, they wouldn't be able to break through the Dragon Roar Armor!

The five people who were mixed in with the chaotic army below the city and approaching Dingzhou City against the flow of people were Hua Rong, Qiao Wei, Uncle Li, and two Death Warriors.

Before the Third Young Master charged into the enemy formation alone, they had already agreed that he would charge in single-handedly, making as much noise as possible. While the enemy's attention was diverted, Hua Rong and the others would disguise themselves as Northern Frontier soldiers, blending into the chaos and entering Dingzhou City to try and rescue Song Qing and the others.

However, when Hai Yacha's arrow struck Qiao Wei's head, Qiao Wei immediately realized they had been exposed!

"Damn it, Young Master Yu's men are indeed very capable; they actually recognized us among so many people!" Qiao Wei cursed angrily, then said, "Miss Hua, Old Li, since they've already discovered us, why don't we just fight them head-on, force our way into the city, and rescue Miss Qing and Miss Biao!"

Hua Rong nodded and said, "Alright! The enemy's strongest force is the Northern Frontier Divine Bow Battalion. Now that we're mixed in with the crowd, the Divine Bow Battalion won't dare to fire their arrows. We'll take this opportunity to break through the city gate, storm the city walls, and wipe out some of the Divine Bow Battalion's archers first!"

With that, she ripped off her Qin army armor and shouted, "Tiger's Roar!"

A deafening roar of a tiger echoed through the heavens. A crimson light erupted from the bundle on her back, shooting towards her head and transforming into a winged, blood-red tiger. The tiger stood erect, roaring to the sky, before lunging down to devour her.

Just as the tiger's roar was about to engulf Hua Rong, Qiao Wei, Uncle Li, and the two death warriors swiftly retreated ten feet away. An

intensely bright crimson light emanated from Hua Rong. As the light surged, every Northern Frontier soldier within seven feet of her, those enveloped in the crimson glow, was sliced into countless equal-sized pieces.

This sudden turn of events threw the area below the city into chaos. The Northern Frontier infantrymen guarding the city never imagined that the enemy had already reached them!

The yakshas on the city wall were terrified. One of them, Hai Yaksha, cried out, "Heavens! It's Tiger's Roar! Hua Rong is here! Fire! Fire now!"

He no longer cared about his own men below; he knew the power of Tiger's Roar. If Hua Rong reached the city wall, their skilled warriors would be helpless, their necks stretched out for her to kill.

The Northern Frontier Army soldiers were known for their strict discipline and unwavering obedience. At Hai Yaksha's command, the 2,500 archers on the city wall, disregarding their own men below, drew their bows and fired. Two thousand five hundred black iron arrows pierced the air, raining down on Hua Rong.

Hua Rong was already afflicted by Tiger's Roar; the two metal fletchings spread above her head, forming a protective net. With clanging sounds, every arrow that struck Hua Rong's head was deflected. However, the Northern Frontier soldiers beside Hua Rong were caught in the crossfire, many wounded by the deflected arrows.

Qiao Wei, Uncle Li, and the two Death Warriors each wielded a Northern Frontier soldier as a weapon to fend off the rain of arrows overhead. Qiao Wei, while rapidly manipulating the two corpses riddled with arrows, shouted, "Miss Hua, open the city gate quickly!"

Hua Rong nodded and leaped towards the gate. Two metallic wings spun and twisted before her, like two terrifying metallic whirlwinds, tearing all the Northern Frontier soldiers in her path to pieces.

In a few strides, Hua Rong reached the city gate. She extended her wings forward, and with a deafening crash, the sturdy, thick oak gate was pierced through a large hole by the metal wings. The metal wings, like human hands, gripped the hole and tore it apart with a loud ripple—the city gate was shattered into pieces!

At this moment, the 2,500 archers from the Divine Archer Battalion who had fired the first volley of arrows from the city wall began to rest and recover their strength. Another squad of 2,500 archers prepared to unleash a second volley of arrows.

However, before they could even draw their bows, the city gates had already been breached. Qiao Wei, Uncle Li, and the two Death Warriors swiftly rushed through the gates, following Hua Rong forward.

At this time, following Zhuo Feifan's orders, the troops responsible for blocking the road to the city center had withdrawn, clearing the way. Therefore, when Hua Rong and the others rushed into the city, apart from the Northern Frontier soldiers chasing behind them, there wasn't a single enemy in front of them.

After passing through the gate, Hua Rong exclaimed, "Up the city!" and then led Qiao Wei, Uncle Li, and the two Death Warriors swiftly up the steps towards the city walls.

The archers of the Divine Bow Battalion had already turned their attention to the side of the city. As Hua Rong and the others charged towards the walls, the archers on the walls unleashed a furious barrage of arrows, raining down on them.

Hua Rong spread her wings wide, spinning rapidly in front of her to form two enormous, blood-red shields, completely protecting her. Qiao Wei and the others following behind her also benefited, but not a single arrow could penetrate the Tiger Roar Wings' defenses; they were all shredded to dust.

In a few leaps, Hua Rong and her group had reached the top of the city wall. The five split into two groups, attacking either side of the wall. Hua Rong charged to the left, while Qiao Wei, Uncle Li, and the two Death Warriors charged to the right.

At this time, only ten thousand archers from the Divine Bow Battalion and seven Yakshas remained on the wall. Of the ten thousand archers, five thousand had already fired one arrow and needed rest. Once Hua Rong and her group charged into the crowd, the remaining five thousand archers who could still fire dared not release their arrows easily, and could only draw their swords to fight Hua Rong and her group hand-to-hand.

Hua Rong, needless to say, with Tiger Roar's power, no one could withstand even a light blow from her. Wherever they passed, they stirred up showers of blood; anything touched by the tiger's roaring wings was pulverized.

On Qiao Wei's side, he and Uncle Li were already invincible masters, and with the addition of two death warriors who were impervious to pain and fatigue, possessing immense strength, killing was as easy as slicing vegetables.

Qiao Wei's "Timeless Trace" had now reached a level where he could kill without even lifting a finger. He used his lightness skill to weave through the crowd at top speed; any archer from the Divine Bow Camp who touched him, even just the hem of his clothing, would quickly age and turn to ash.

Uncle Li's "Illusory Demon at Will" was also terrifyingly powerful. His hands were incredibly fast, often striking dozens of people simultaneously in an instant. Anyone struck by his light palm would instantly become an extremely fragile crystal, easily blown to dust by a mere breeze.

The two death warriors, however, were much more merciful. Their punches and kicks were precise and disciplined, yet their terrifying power shattered anyone they struck. Their speed was even more astonishing; the archers of the Divine Bow Camp fought them like chasing shadows, their heads smashed by a single punch before they even saw them.

Those seven Yakshas were capable of taking on a thousand men; if they had fought Qiao Wei and his group, they might have lasted ten moves. Unfortunately for them, they encountered Hua Rong.

Back in the Heavenly Saint Palace, even the mighty Long Jiu was sliced to pieces by Hu Xiao in a single exchange; those seven Yakshas, no matter how powerful, were no match for Long Jiu.

In a single move, Hua Rong eliminated seven of the eighteen Yakshas, the most capable fighters under Gongzi Yu!

Hua Rong and her group's massacre of the Divine Bow Camp archers atop the city walls, this sudden attack thrown the morale of the Northern Frontier infantry and cavalry who were desperately trying to intercept the Third Young Master outside the city into disarray.

The Third Young Master had been slaughtering under the city walls for nearly an hour and a half, from dusk until now, when it was already dark. Countless lives had been taken, yet he showed no signs of fatigue. While the Northern Frontier soldiers were fearless against a powerful enemy, their rear remained secure. Now, with the city gates ablaze and their strongest unit, the Divine Archer Battalion, being massacred on the city walls, how could they possibly fight with any fighting spirit?

Furthermore, the Third Young Master's methods of killing were truly cruel and swift; no one could even exchange a single blow with him. The Northern Frontier soldiers were like human targets, charging forward only to be hacked down. How could they possibly fight like this? How could they possibly continue?

Gradually, the morale of the Northern Frontier army wavered, and their fighting spirit plummeted. Just when they had lost all will to fight, a gong suddenly sounded from within the city, signaling a retreat.

Finally, they could stop fighting this devilish fellow!

This was the sentiment of every Northern Frontier soldier outside the city. As soon as the gong sounded, the Northern Frontier soldiers retreated like a receding tide, clearing a path for them.

Meanwhile, the archers of the Divine Bow Battalion, who had already lost nearly five thousand men, retreated from the city walls.

Watching the enemy forces that had just been holding them back retreat like a tide, the Third Young Master let out a long sigh.

He gripped his broadsword tightly and strode towards the city gate. No one knew that his forehead, hidden beneath his helmet, was covered in sweat, his hand holding the sword trembled slightly, and his knuckles were white.

Charging through an army of one hundred thousand, single-handedly killing no less than ten thousand enemies, the Third Young Master had not only suffered severe physical and mental exhaustion, but

he also knew he could fight for much longer, or kill many more. The only thing he knew was that no matter how many enemies were in the city, he had to go in, he had to rescue Song Qing and Tie Xuanxuan.

Being a man wasn't easy!

The Third Young Master entered the city.

The city was now completely dark; not a single light shone within its walls.

Hua Rong and the others descended from the city wall and came to the Third Young Master's side, walking alongside him on the main road.

Ahead were four high platforms. On two of these platforms, two young girls were bound; on the other two platforms, two stretchers lay, each carrying two more girls.

The Third Young Master knew that the two bound girls were Song Qing and Tie Xuanxuan. And the girls on the stretchers were, without a doubt, Liu Yifei and Yi Jingjing, still recovering from serious injuries.

He wanted to save all four.

Song Qing and Tie Xuanxuan were his lovers; Liu Yifei and Yi Jingjing were not only his women but also his benefactors who had risked their lives to protect him.

And the Third Young Master was always clear about right and wrong!

The city was quiet, seemingly deserted. However, the Third Young Master and his companions, with their profound skills, sensed that no fewer than 100,000 people were lying in ambush within the city. They were probably waiting for the Third Young Master to rescue them, or perhaps they were waiting for him to have more people to catch before overwhelming him with their forces.

The Third Young Master and his companions slowly walked to the center of the city, where the four wooden platforms stood on a cleared area in the center of Dingzhou City.

Beneath the platforms were piles of firewood doused with oil. The Tutuha tribe archers who had been left there to kill the Third Young Master and his group had been transferred away by Zhuo Feifan. After witnessing Hua Rong and her group's methods of slaughtering the Divine Bow Battalion, Zhuo Feifan finally realized that if the Third Young Master and his group got close, even the most skilled archers would only become human targets.

Therefore, only four people remained beneath the platforms, each holding a burning torch.

When the Third Young Master and his group were still fifty feet away from the platforms, the four men threw their torches into the firewood.

The firewood began to burn rapidly, flames spreading from the bottom of the platforms to the middle, which was also doused with oil.

The Third Young Master took a deep breath and suddenly darted away like lightning. At the same time, Hua Rong, Qiao Wei, Uncle Li, and the two Death Warriors also swiftly moved forward!

~Chapter Nine: Bloodstained Hero, Section Four~

On the north city wall of Dingzhou, the Northern Frontier soldiers on duty guarding the city gate tonight were completely unfazed by the sudden fire that had broken out in the city.

The Northern Frontier army was known for its strict discipline; those not in command were not expected to participate in the attack. Since they were only on guard duty and not involved in today's siege, they wouldn't care about the extent of the commotion inside the city.

Without orders to mobilize troops, even if the sky were to fall, they wouldn't glance at the city.

In front of the city gate tower directly above the main gate, two Northern Frontier soldiers stood like javelins, spears in hand, their eyes fixed intently on the area below. Zhuo Feifan had ordered them to be on high alert tonight, guarding against any nighttime attack.

On the north city wall, from left to right, two sentries stood behind each crenellation, four hundred pairs of eyes fixed on the dark plains below.

Suddenly, one of the two soldiers standing on the city gate tower rubbed his eyes and asked his comrade, "Did you see any figures moving below the city?"

The man shook his head and said, "No, but I did see a lot of shooting stars in the sky."

"Shooting stars?" The first soldier looked up suspiciously at the sky and saw a cluster of golden shooting stars that had appeared out of nowhere, shining with dazzling light. "These shooting stars... why do they seem to be heading this way?" Before he could

finish speaking, the cluster of shooting stars rushed towards them. Before the two soldiers could react, two of them had already pierced through their chests!

At the same time, ninety-seven guards on either side of the two soldiers were also pierced through the chests by the golden shooting stars!

Those weren't shooting stars, but golden arrows—ninety-nine golden arrows in total, the golden arrows shot by Xiao Tianci, the "Golden Arrow and Silver Bow"!

Of the four hundred guards, ninety-nine perished instantly. The remaining three hundred and one reacted immediately, rushing towards the direction where the ninety-nine had been shot. Two of them drew their horns, preparing to sound the alarm.

But the moment they brought the horns to their lips, they felt a chill in their throats, and then all their strength vanished with the rapid loss of blood.

A gentle breeze swept by, and suddenly a rapid whooshing sound arose from the city wall. It wasn't the sound of a sharp weapon cutting through the air or a master using light-footed skills, but rather the hissing sound of blood gushing from the carotid arteries, tearing through the air.

The three hundred and one guards fell silently to the ground simultaneously. Only after they fell did Qin Feng emerge from the wind.

His feet were three feet off the ground, hovering in the air, his feet treading on a small whirlwind that was spinning rapidly, the wind swirling with countless green blades of grass.

Qin Feng could now walk on the wind!

The emerald green blades of grass swirling in the whirlwind were Qin Feng's murder weapons. The 301 guards had just been killed by Qin Feng, their carotid arteries severed by these blades.

Xiao Tianci, silver bow in hand, leaped onto the city wall. With a flick of his right hand, he pulled the silken threads attached to the golden arrows, retrieving the ninety-nine arrows that had pierced the hearts of ninety-nine guards, which then fell into the quiver on his back.

Qin Lei and Nu Hengmei, carrying Tie Jian, also leaped onto the city wall. Although Tie Jian's Iron Hand Divine Skill had reached the thirty-first level, making him a rare master, his lightness skill was surprisingly poor.

Qin Feng and the other four stood on the city wall, watching the raging fire burning on the thirty-zhang-long wooden platform in the center of the city. By the light of the flames, they could see Song Qing and Tie Xuanxuan bound to the platform.

They also sensed the lurking killing intent throughout Dingzhou City.

Suddenly, a dragon's roar and a tiger's howl resounded through the sky. Amidst the roar and howl, Qin Feng and the others saw six figures rushing towards the four wooden platforms at high speed. The one in the lead was none other than the Third Young Master, dressed in the Tiger's Roar robe!

"Not good! After rescuing them, the Third Young Master and the others will be surrounded!" Qin Feng exclaimed softly, leaping down from the city wall. He said, "Eldest Cousin, A Lei, and Elder Nu are the most formidable. You two will attack from the outside to draw the enemy's attention. Elder Xiao, you come with me to infiltrate the enemy ranks and support the Third Young Master and the others!"

※ ※ ※ ※

The Third Young Master charged ahead, reaching the four wooden platforms.

He brandished his massive saber and plunged into the flames. With a single sweeping motion, he severed the base of the platform where Song Qing was bound. He then did the same to the other three platforms.

With the creaking of breaking wood, the four platforms slowly tilted and collapsed with a crash. Before the wooden platforms collapsed, Qiao Wei caught Song Qing, Uncle Li caught Tie Xuanxuan, and the two Death Warriors caught Liu Yifei and Yi Jingjing, who were still unconscious.

The four women landed safely. After the four wooden platforms collapsed, the fire raged even more fiercely, illuminating the sky above Dingzhou City.

At the same time the four wooden platforms collapsed, a gong sounded, and countless Northern Frontier Army soldiers and Hu tribe soldiers surged in from all directions, trapping the Third Young Master and his companions in the center.

The second, third, fourth, and fifth layers of the encirclement were all filled with Tutuha tribe archers and archers from the Northern Frontier Divine Bow Battalion! The archers in the second layer of the encirclement drew their bows, thousands of gleaming arrowheads aimed at the Third Young Master and his companions in the center of the encirclement, ready to fire at any moment.

"Hahahaha... Qin Ren, you've rescued them, but how are you going to get them out of here?" Zhuo Feifan appeared on a rooftop about fifty feet away from the Third Young Master, with Zhang Tianyun, the Twelve Ghost Shadows, the remaining eleven of the Eighteen Yakshas, and Tianya Yidao following behind him.

Looking at the Third Young Master not far away, Zhuo Feifan said smugly, "Qin Ren, with just one command, my archers will unleash a volley of arrows! Even if you and Hua Rong are protected by heavenly soldiers and impervious to the arrow rain, the others... hmph... will probably be riddled with holes in no time! Qin Ren, you'd better obediently disarm your heavenly soldiers and surrender!"

"Qing'er, cousin, I'm here." The Third Young Master didn't even glance at Zhuo Feifan. Surrounded by thousands of soldiers, he looked at Song Qing and Tie Xuanxuan as if no one else was there. The visor of his helmet parted, revealing his slightly pale, sweat-drenched face. He smiled at the two women and said, "I'm sorry, because of me, you've suffered."

Song Qing smiled calmly and said, "I didn't suffer much. You came just when I was about to suffer." Although her expression was calm, her voice trembled slightly.

Tie Xuanxuan, on the other hand, patted the Third Young Master's shoulder casually and said, "Ah Ren, you appeared just in time! As for me, I didn't suffer much either, so you don't need to blame yourself too much. By the way, besides Uncle Qiao and Uncle Li, who are these three?" Tie Xuanxuan asked, pointing to Hua Rong and the others.

Hua Rong looked at Song Qing and Tie Xuanxuan, removed her mask, and smiled, "Miss Tie, Miss Song, it's me, Hua Rong. These two are my Death Warriors; they have no names."

"Nine Yin Saintess Hua Rong?" Tie Xuanxuan's expression suddenly changed, glaring at the Third Young Master, "Well, Ah Ren, you really have gotten involved with this little demonic girl! Tell me honestly, what's your relationship with her now?"

Song Qing smiled at the Third Young Master, remaining silent, but her eyes held a hint of reproach.

"We're in a romantic relationship now..." the Third Young Master muttered softly, then smiled, "To be honest, Rong'er has reformed and turned to the light. Please don't look at her strangely anymore. I was able to get here today thanks to her. If it weren't for her, I would have died of exhaustion outside the city. Alright, now's not the time to talk. We'll have plenty of time to talk once we're out of the city."

At this moment, not only the Third Young Master, but everyone else remained calm and composed.

"Qin Ren!" Zhuo Feifan was extremely dissatisfied with the Third Young Master's attitude. He was currently the city's commander-in-chief, but the Third Young Master completely disregarded him. Even with Zhuo Feifan's deep-seated cunning, he couldn't help but get angry: "Given the current situation, do you still want to leave the city? Don't even dream about it! Obediently lay down your heavenly soldiers, and I might consider letting everyone except you and Hua Rong go. If you want to resist to the end, hmph, all of you will die here today!"

The Third Young Master picked his ear, looked at Zhuo Feifan, and said, "The first time I met you, you were just a restaurant owner, and you were very respectful to me, even speaking a few human words. How have you become like this now? You don't speak human words, but instead bark like a dog."

Zhuo Feifan was furious and said, "Qin Ren, if you don't think about yourself, you should at least think about your woman. I'll ask you one last time, will you surrender or not?"

The Third Young Master looked at Song Qing, then at Tie Xuanxuan, and asked, "He told me to think about you all."

Song Qing smiled and said, "If you die, I will live." Is it necessary to wear it? "

Tie Xuanxuan also smiled and said: "Aren, from that day on, my life is tied to you. Without you, I would never live alone. "

The third young master asked Hua Rong again: "What about you? "

Hua Rong smiled sweetly at the third young master and closed the mask on his face. A soft but firm voice came from the gap when the mask was slowly closed: "I made it clear to you when I came here. If you want to go to hell, I will accompany you. "

The third young master smiled and nodded, closed the mask on his face, and when he spoke again, his voice had a clanging sound of metal friction: "In my Qin family, there have always been only heroes who have their heads cut off, and no cowards who bend their knees! Zhuo Feifan, my Qin Ren’s head is here. If you have the ability, come and get it!

Zhuo Feifan took a deep breath, nodded, and said: "It seems that you have decided to die here." Shoot the arrow! "

With an order, arrows rained down. The archers in the second encirclement fired arrows at the same time. Thousands of iron arrows shot at the Third Young Master and others from all directions like a heavy rain. The second wave of archers retreated immediately after unleashing a volley of arrows, while the third wave advanced, nocked their arrows, and released them swiftly, giving no chance to catch their breath!

Arrows have always been the most terrifying weapon on the battlefield, and the archers surrounding the Third Young Master and his group were all exceptional archers, almost always hitting their targets. Thousands of them firing simultaneously created a spectacle that seemed to change the very heavens and earth, the sound of arrows piercing the air as powerful as a mountain collapsing or a tsunami crashing down!

Under such a dense and terrifying rain of arrows, even the mighty Qiao Wei and Uncle Li dared not be careless. At such close range, they could not guarantee their own safety, let alone Song Qing and the others!

As the first wave of arrows approached, the Third Young Master shouted, "Brother Wei, you guys protect Qing'er and the others! Rong'er, come with me to break through the arrows!"

After this shout, the Third Young Master and Hua Rong began to run and spin rapidly around Qiao Wei and the others.

The Third Young Master's saber transformed into a huge round shield, used to block the rain of arrows. His cloak, taut like iron, billowed upwards above his head, deflecting all the approaching arrows. In terms of defensive capability alone, Dragon's Roar was far superior to Tiger's Howl; its defense was virtually impenetrable!

Hua Rong, while running around Qiao Wei and the others, used the rapidly spinning wings of Tiger's Roar as a shield, shredding every incoming arrow.

The first volley of arrows was completely deflected by the Third Young Master and Hua Rong, leaving Qiao Wei and the others unharmed under their protection.

When the second volley came, the Third Young Master and Hua Rong's speed gradually decreased, and arrows occasionally slipped through their defenses, but Qiao Wei and Uncle Li intercepted them all.

When the third volley came, even more arrows penetrated their defenses. This time, Qiao Wei, Uncle Li, and the two Death Warriors worked together to intercept all the arrows that had passed through the defenses. During his solo charge earlier,

the Third Young Master's strength and mental energy had been severely depleted; he had only managed to hold on until now through sheer willpower. Although Hua Rong wasn't as severely weakened as the Third Young Master, she specialized in magic. While she could also use magic to command the tiger's roar, the effect was far inferior to internal energy, and the rate of energy depletion was much faster. After blocking three waves of arrows, the two were visibly exhausted and on the verge of collapse!

Zhuo Feifan, with his sharp eyes, immediately recognized that the Third Young Master and Hua Rong were nearing their end. He didn't order a charge, but instead commanded the archers to keep firing. The fourth wave of arrows rained down on the Third Young Master and his companions.

The Third Young Master's speed had completely slowed; his hands and feet were trembling, and deflecting the arrows was no longer as effortless as before. When he saw hundreds of arrows pierce his defenses and hurtle towards Qiao Wei and the others, he gave a bitter laugh, shook his head, and muttered to himself, "Damn it, am I really going to die here today?"

Just as he was sighing, a thunderous roar came from the north, followed by a rough, thunderous voice shouting, "Raging Lightning—Thunderbolt!"

Clang! A long, resounding metallic clang, like the tolling of a morning bell or the sound of an evening drum, accompanied by a snow-white blade of light soaring into the sky. The light shot fifteen zhang (approximately 33 meters) into the night, wreathed in

shimmering lightning! The blade cleaved through the air, its light as dazzling and brilliant as a rainbow piercing the sun; its momentum as imposing as Mount Tai, its power overwhelming; its intent as vast and boundless as the universe, breathtakingly beautiful!

Everything in the world seemed to lose its luster, as if the very fabric of existence existed solely for this one strike!

"Boom!" A thunderous roar echoed, and wherever the blade's light passed, everything was cleaved in two. Houses, people, armor, weapons—nothing could even slightly hinder the blade's downward momentum!

Zhuo Feifan's expression changed, and he exclaimed, "Tyrant Blade Qin Lei?"

The Third Young Master laughed and shouted, "My Second Brother is here! Rong'er, it's time to fight back! You hold them off for a while, I'll go and fight my way through! Wei Ge, come with me! Take Qing'er and the others north to meet up with Second Brother!"

Zhuo Feifan roared, "Send ten thousand men to intercept Qin Lei!"

The Third Young Master rushed north, and as he heard Qin Lei's thunderous roar, his Asura Demon Eyes opened again, unleashing the boundless potential within him, and an undisguised, fierce killing intent permeated his surroundings.

As the three young masters charged, the task of defending against the rain of arrows fell entirely on Hua Rong's shoulders. She strained her mind, pushing her mental energy to its limit, manipulating the Tiger Roar Wings to spin at an unprecedented speed, single-handedly blocking all the incoming arrows!

The massive round shield in the third young master's hand transformed into four ring-shaped blades, each three feet in diameter. He gripped two round swords in each hand, throwing them out. The four swords flew forward in a row, trailing four straight streaks of light.

A dense, seamless sound of sharp weapons slicing through flesh filled the air, carving a bloody path two zhang in diameter to the north. Every archer along the way was killed, their bows snapped!

At the same time, Qiao Wei and the others began to follow the third young master northward, with Hua Rong fiercely guarding their perimeter.

Zhuo Feifan repeatedly ordered, "Fire arrows! Fire arrows! Don't let them get away! Damn it, Qin Ren and Hua Rong were clearly at their last gasp, about to die from exhaustion, how come they've suddenly become so powerful?"

On the other side, Qin Lei, carrying the Thunderous Blade, strode forward, his feet paving a bloody path. Tie Jian and Nu Hengmei walked beside him.

Around the three of them, infantry and cavalry from the Northern Frontier Army and the Hu tribe surged forward like a tide, charging towards them.

Qin Lei shouted, "Crouch down!" Tie Jian and Nu Hengmei quickly crouched down upon hearing this. As they lowered their bodies, Qin Lei gripped his blade with both hands and unleashed a 360-degree sweep, the blade's light flashing out fifteen zhang away like a windmill, engulfing all enemies within fifteen zhang in all directions.

Amidst the agonizing sound of flesh being sliced, every enemy within a fifteen-zhang radius was cut in two. Even the mounted cavalry had their legs severed as their horses were cleaved in two!

Blood instantly stained the earth, forming pools of crimson, and mountains of man and horse limbs piled up. After Qin Lei's powerful strike, even the battle-hardened Northern Frontier Army and the fearless Hu tribe were too intimidated by his overwhelming aura to advance!

Tie Jian stood up, and in that instant, an intensely bright red light erupted from his body. The red light quickly turned blue, then slowly white. The scorching heat emanating from his body instantly parched and cracked the ground beneath his feet, then billowed smoke.

The intense light emanating from him was blinding; everyone who looked at Tie Jian felt as if they were staring at the blazing sun at its most intense moment!

The Northern Frontier soldiers and the Hu tribe warriors were blinded by the light emanating from him, tears streaming down their faces, and they involuntarily closed their eyes.

Tie Jian strode forward, like a white, active volcano, charging towards the thousands of troops blocking his path!

~Chapter Nine, Bloodstained Hero, Section Five~

Tie Jian charged into the crowd, countless swords, spears, and halberds attacking him, but he neither dodged nor evaded.

The weapons, forged through countless trials, melted into molten iron from his heat just before touching his body. The intense heat instantly spread to the hilts of the soldiers' weapons, scorching their hands until they cried out in pain and dropped their weapons.

Tie Jian stretched out his large, fan-like hands and plunged them into the chests of two Northern Frontier infantrymen before him. The heat from his hands instantly turned their bodies into fireballs, even their armor flaming and melting into molten iron!

Tie Jian hurled the two fireballs, each fueled by burning human bodies. The soldiers behind him scrambled to avoid them, but those struck by the fireballs were instantly engulfed in flames, reduced to charred remains!

Laughing, Tie Jian snatched two spears, which glowed red-hot in his hands. He hurled them, and they shot forward like two fiery dragons, piercing the bodies of any soldiers in their path, the edges of their wounds instantly charred black!

The spears flew over thirty zhang before finally collapsing to the ground, killing no fewer than two hundred soldiers along their path!

Nu Hengmei charged forward at the same time as Tie Jian.

His robes billowed, and the internal energy emanating from his body created a thunderous explosion as he charged.

He clenched his fists, sparks crackling from them. As he charged into the crowd, every soldier within a three-zhang radius was sent flying by his protective aura, bones broken and tendons snapped!

His fists unleashed a lightning-fast barrage of blows, the force of his punches like bolts of lightning surging through the air. Any soldier touched by his fists was instantly blasted to pieces.

Arms broken, legs broken, abdomen ripped open, heads shattered!

Weapons and armor could not withstand the force of his punches; it seemed nothing could withstand even a light touch of his thunderous fists!

Qin Lei, carrying his enormous, lightning-fast Thunder Blade, followed closely behind Tie Jian and Nu Hengmei. Although the enemy soldiers behind and to his sides followed him closely, none dared to approach within fifteen zhang of him.

Occasionally, a fearless enemy soldier would dare to cross the line, and Qin Lei would immediately unleash a slash, the blade's

energy cleaving the man in two from fifteen zhang away! Qin Lei's path was one of dominance; his overwhelming aura was the natural enemy of all living beings. Even the Northern Frontier Army and the Hu tribes, who were known for their willingness to die, couldn't help but feel a deep-seated fear under Qin Lei's domineering presence.

※ ※ ※ ※ *

Swoosh*—The Third Young Master cleaved dozens of Northern Frontier soldiers in two with a single slash, simultaneously grabbing a Hu cavalryman by the thigh, dragging him from his horse, and wielding the cavalryman to smash seventeen Hu cavalrymen.

He then hurled the Hu cavalryman's remaining thigh, after smashing seventeen men, and pierced the chests of three Tutuha archers. *

Crack*—The Third Young Master heard a slight popping sound.

It was the sound of his blood vessels bursting; this was the seventeenth popping sound he had heard that night.

Nine blood vessels burst from his hands, six from his arms, one from his forehead, and one from his neck.

Although the bleeding wasn't visible from outside his Dragon Roar Armor, the Third Young Master knew that his clothes, concealed within the armor, were likely soaked in blood.

This was a consequence of excessive internal energy cultivation. No matter how strong his power, how great his potential, or how resilient his body, he couldn't withstand such depletion and constant strain.

The Third Young Master knew clearly that if he continued this high-intensity cultivation, another burst might occur in his dantian.

But he couldn't stop. He charged ahead, bearing all the pressure from both the front and sides.

Only through his desperate struggle could Qiao Wei and the others, protected by Hua Rong, successfully escort Song Qing and the other three women forward.

Qiao Wei, Uncle Li, and the two Death Warriors were undoubtedly formidable masters, but Song Qing was unskilled in martial arts, Liu Yifei and Yi Jingjing were seriously injured and unconscious, and although Tie Xuanxuan was skilled in martial arts, her "Silent Finger" technique was useless on this battlefield; at best, it could blast open the enemy's armor and scrape off a layer of skin from their chests.

Therefore, Qiao Wei, Uncle Li, and the two Death Warriors had to stay close to Song Qing and the other three women, never leaving their side. The task of charging into battle and defending against the archers had to be entrusted to the Third Young Master and Hua Rong.

The Third Young Master also knew that even if they could reunite with Qin Lei and the others, breaking through would still not be easy. With limited manpower, Qin Lei, apart from using his full power twice with his Overlord Blade at the beginning to create a great impression and intimidate the enemy's morale, did not easily use any more energy-consuming sword techniques afterward.

No matter how strong Qin Lei is, he is only a master capable of fighting ten thousand men, on the same level as Qiao Wei and Uncle Li. Nu Hengmei and Tie Jian are slightly inferior to Qin Lei. The three of them together can fight at most thirty thousand enemy troops, but there are hundreds of thousands of enemy troops inside and outside Dingzhou City!

The Third Young Master's skill was slightly superior to Qin Lei's, and with the Heavenly Soldiers' Dragon Roar, he was now equivalent to two Qin Leis. However, even two Qin Leis could only fight 20,000 men. After repeated intense battles, the Third Young Master was now truly at his limit, not far from his dantian exploding!

As for Hua Rong, although she wasn't directly fighting the enemy, she had to constantly parry the incoming rain of arrows.

The powerful arrows from the Northern Frontier Divine Bow Camp and the arrows fired by the Hu tribe's Tutuha archers were not easy to block. Even with Tiger Roar protecting her, Tiger Roar was primarily for offense, not defense, so her current level of exhaustion was not much different from the Third Young Master's.

However, she couldn't use it for offense. She used her mental and magical power to activate Tiger Roar, which was inherently more taxing than using internal energy. If she were to attack, she would probably already be exhausted and dead.

The situation had reached an extremely critical moment!

By this time, Zhuo Feifan could see through the tool called "Thousand-Mile Eyes," which was actually a monocular telescope, the iron halberd gleaming white, the furiously angry-browed man crackling with electricity, and Qin Lei carrying a giant sword, leaving bloody footprints with every step.

He saw that the distance between Qin Lei and the Third Young Master was less than two hundred feet. Although a massive army, like ants, blocked their path, and infantry and cavalry from the Northern Frontier Army and the Hu tribes were constantly arriving from all directions to surround them, he felt no relief.

Zhuo Feifan knew that with his forces, even if Qin Lei and the Third Young Master joined forces, along with the four burdens including Song Qing, they would not be able to break through smoothly. Zhuo Feifan could still use his superior forces to surround Qin Lei and the Third Young Master, and then fight them to the death from exhaustion.

The original intention was to surround and kill Qin Ren and Hua Rong, but now Qin Lei, who was sent to his death, had also appeared. If this battle could kill the two Qin brothers and their helpers, then seven or eight out of ten of the Qin family's top experts would be gone. Zhuo Feifan would then have performed a great feat, which could be considered the greatest contribution Gongzi Yu had made to pacify the world.

However, Zhuo Feifan still couldn't feel happy or relaxed. He vaguely felt that he had missed something, forgotten something.

While nervously watching the battle, Zhuo Feifan didn't forget to think about what he had forgotten.

Zhang Tianyun squinted, his face expressionless as he stared intently at the Third Young Master charging through the army.

In his view, the Third Young Master was basically already dead. The Third Young Master's ferocious, dragon-like attacks and killings were just a final burst of energy before his death.

A breeze swept by, and Zhang Tianyun couldn't help but shrink his neck. He felt that the wind was a little cold.

But it was the height of summer, and the summer night breeze was the most pleasant; the cool summer wind only made people feel refreshed, not cold.

However, Zhang Tianyun paid no attention to this; all he cared about was when Qin Ren would die.

Another gentle breeze swept by, and Zhang Tianyun suddenly saw a leaf drifting down from the sky.

Curious, Zhang Tianyun looked up at the leaf swirling in the wind as it drifted towards his head. He recognized the leaf; it was the leaf of a wild grass that was commonly found in the fields outside the city.

This grass had long, narrow leaves with tiny serrations along the edges, something rarely seen in the city, and even less so in the air.

Zhang Tianyun couldn't help but ask Zhuo Feifan, "Lord Zhuo, did a strong wind or a tornado occur today?"

Zhuo Feifan replied, "Although it rained heavily during the day, there was no strong wind. As for a tornado, heh, how could there be a tornado in inland areas? Lord Zhang, aren't you paying attention to the battle situation? Why did you think of asking this question?"

Zhang Tianyun shook his head and said, "Nothing, just asking casually." As he spoke, he looked at the drifting leaf again.

At this moment, Zhang Tianyun noticed that it wasn't just one leaf falling from the sky, but four or five leaves swirling in the wind, slowly drifting down. The first leaf that had fallen had already landed on the roof tiles.

Curious, Zhang Tianyun reached out to catch a leaf to examine it.

Then, when a blade of grass landed in his palm, he almost screamed in shock and pain. The blade, upon touching his palm, pierced through it as easily and effortlessly as burning embers on fabric, leaving a trail of blood!

Zhang Tianyun recoiled as if electrocuted, opening his mouth to cry out, when the blade of grass gently grazed his carotid artery.

His throat quickly filled with blood, and instead of a scream, he let out a hissing sound like air leaking out. Blood gushed from the corner of his mouth, dripping onto his shirt.

A hissing sound, like blood spurting from his carotid artery, echoed from Zhang Tianyun's neck, even splattering onto Zhuo Feifan's face beside him.

Zhuo Feifan turned around in astonishment to see Zhang Tianyun's eyes wide open, mouth agape, swaying twice before collapsing limply to the ground.

"Who did this?" Zhuo Feifan exclaimed in disbelief. He couldn't believe that someone had silently killed Zhang Tianyun, who was standing right next to him, and that none of the twelve ghost shadows, eleven yakshas, and Tianya Yidao guarding them had noticed who did it!

At that moment, the forty-six experts guarding Zhuo Feifan reacted as Zhang Tianyun gushed blood. The twelve ghost shadows swiftly moved to Zhuo Feifan's side, the eleven yakshas formed a protective circle around him, and Tianya Yidao and the others scattered to search the rooftop.

"Is...is there a ghost?" Zhuo Feifan asked frantically. He knew Zhang Tianyun's martial arts skills; they were comparable to his own. But now, Zhang Tianyun, surrounded by forty-six experts, had been silently killed. What other explanation could there be but a ghost?

One of the twelve ghostly figures said calmly, "Lord Zhuo, we are ghosts. Before us, what other ghosts could there be?" He looked up at the sky and shouted, "Assassins in the sky!"

With this shout, a large swirling mass of grass suddenly rained down from the sky, enveloping Zhang Tianyun and the twenty-three experts beside him.

The twelve ghostly figures swiftly leaped into the air, each striking twice with their palms, twenty-four dark palm strikes instantly hitting the grass. However, the grass only paused briefly before rapidly falling again.

Seeing this, the eleven yakshas also leaped into the air, each striking twice with their palms, twenty-two cyan palm strikes whirling through the air towards the grass, which then scattered with a whoosh.

The twelve ghosts and eleven yakshas landed back on the roof, nervously watching the sky. One of the twelve ghosts said anxiously, "Lord Zhuo, the newcomer's skill far surpasses ours. It takes all twenty-three of us combined to break one of his attacks. We shouldn't stay here any longer; please leave immediately!"

Zhuo Feifan had long wanted to leave, and upon hearing this, he immediately nodded vigorously. However, before they could even land, a cluster of golden meteors descended from the sky, heading straight for their heads!

"Arrows!" one of the ghosts shouted, leaping into the air. The other eleven ghosts and eleven yakshas quickly followed suit, leaping into the air as well. The golden arrows were too fast for them to dodge; they could only block them before they hit the ground.

At this moment, the twenty-three Heavenly Blades had swiftly reached Zhuo Feifan's side. As the twelve ghosts and eleven yakshas intercepted the arrows, they protected Zhuo Feifan and leaped off the roof.

However, as soon as they leaped off the roof and into the courtyard, they saw a young man dressed in a black night robe, with long flowing hair and a cold expression, already waiting there with his hands behind his back.

"Who are you?" Zhuo Feifan asked in a deep voice.

A mocking smile appeared on the young man's lips as he slowly said, "The dead need not know."

As he spoke, he moved, like a gentle breeze, following an unbelievable trajectory towards Zhuo Feifan. Twenty-three swordsmen simultaneously leaped to intercept, their gleaming blades striking the young man with unimaginable speed and from impossible angles—slashing, sweeping, or cutting.

Twenty-three blades, twenty-three sword techniques, combined into a single move. Yet, this move, executed by twenty-three people simultaneously, possessed indescribable power. The seemingly flawless net of blades actually sealed off all the attacker's paths of advance and retreat!

It was a flawless move!

Facing this move that blocked all his escape routes, the young man revealed a strange smile.

He lightly pointed a finger, a seemingly slow but actually swift movement, emitting a sharp whistling sound like a sword piercing the air.

His finger actually pointed into empty space, but the gust of wind generated by the sword energy emanating from his fingertip caused the twenty-three flawless blades to deviate slightly from the source of the wind.

Perhaps it was off by a fraction of a second, or perhaps only a fraction of a second. But even that slight deviation was enough to make a flawless sword strike riddled with holes! Taking advantage of

this, the young man followed the wind's trajectory, escaping the sword net and heading straight for Zhuo Feifan.

"It's Qin Feng! Heavenly Sword Qin Feng!" one of the members of the Heavenly Blade suddenly cried out.

Who else in the world could unleash such a transformative sword strike, turning stone into gold, but Qin Feng?!

Zhuo Feifan's face was ashen.

The Heavenly Blade hadn't stopped Qin Feng; now Qin Feng was rushing towards him. Qin Feng's movement, as if treading on the wind, made Zhuo Feifan realize he had no chance of escape. And Qin Feng's earlier display of a finger-sword technique also made Zhuo Feifan understand that even if his martial arts were ten times stronger, he wouldn't be Qin Feng's match!

Qin Feng had already reached Zhuo Feifan. Zhuo Feifan futilely attacked Qin Feng with three palm strikes, five punches, and twelve kicks. Qin Feng merely smiled slightly, pointed a finger at him, and whispered, "I'll borrow your head for a moment!"

The twelve ghost shadows and eleven yakshas landed back on the roof.

One ghost shadow and two yakshas returned as corpses.

Each of the three had a golden arrow piercing their chest, pinning their bodies firmly to the roof.

Of the ninety-nine golden arrows, aside from the three embedded in the bodies, the rest were embedded around the eleven surviving ghost shadows and nine yakshas.

Twenty-three experts should have easily intercepted ninety-nine arrows. Unfortunately, these ninety-nine arrows were shot by the best archer in the martial world.

"It's Xiao Tianci with his golden arrows and silver bow!" a ghostly figure said in a deep voice. "Only he could shoot such arrows!"

A night demon said, "Xiao Tianci's Nine-Nine God-Slaying Archery Technique can fire eighty-one arrows in a row like just now. Why doesn't he take the arrows back and shoot us again?"

A ghostly figure said, "Because Xiao Tianci isn't confident he can kill us all. If he fires another arrow, we can find his hiding place. He doesn't take the arrows back just to trap us!" As he spoke, he kicked up Zhang Tianyun's corpse on the roof and kicked it out at random. Silently, Zhang Tianyun's corpse mysteriously broke into dozens of pieces in mid-air. "Xiao Tianci's golden arrows are wrapped with silkworm silk that can cut iron like mud and is as thin as transparent. Without divine weapons, we can't cut the silkworm silk and can't escape his formation!"

"Then let's collect the arrows for him!" A night demon said, reaching out to pull out an arrow stuck at his feet.

Several ghostly figures cried out in unison, "No..."
