Meeting a couple through renting an apartment in Taiyuan

I'm not sure if this idea is feasible. We're 29 and 31 and are looking to rent a one-bedroom apartment in Taiyuan. This idea suddenly came to mind: how can we meet a couple we know? Perhaps we could rent their apartment or share a larger one. The goal is simply to slowly develop the relationship with the wife. We think we could eventually move on to exchanging partners, but it will still take a long time.
