When Xue

's mother recounted her experience of finding Jingzhi, everyone was shocked.

You Yang held Jingzhi's hand tightly: "Auntie, I'm so grateful to you for taking Jingzhi home. You saved Jingzhi's life."

Xue's mother looked at Jingzhi, tears welling up in her eyes: "My poor Jingzhi... Luckily, we were in the hospital at the time. We took her to the emergency room, and the doctors worked on her for a long time. I held her close to my chest to keep her warm. The doctor told me that this child was less than 10 hours old, and the umbilical cord had just been cut."

"Mom," Jingzhi sobbed softly.

Mrs. Xue shook her head: "The doctors at the hospital were also puzzled, because it's common for people to abandon children in the hospital, usually children with disabilities. But Jingzhi was healthy and beautiful. After she was rescued, we discovered—although she was only a few days old, she didn't have the wrinkled faces of other newborns, but was as white and tender as an apple. Her father and I were incredibly surprised. How could anyone abandon such a beautiful and healthy little baby?"

You Yang didn't dare look at the expression on Jingzhi's face: "Auntie, what kind of blanket was Jingzhi wrapped in, or was there any token?"

"No… except for that jade."

"No paper, no letter?"

"No, only a small blanket made from a woman's wool shawl. The jade was clutched in the child's hand."

"You mean, this jade wasn't hanging around Jingzhi's neck at all?"

"Yes."

"Oh my god!" Xue Ran suddenly stood up. "You Yang, why are you asking so many questions? That bastard who threw Jingzhi away doesn't want the person who found her to know her background. That bastard doesn't want Jingzhi to live."

"I know," You Yang replied calmly. "But maybe we can find some useful clues from these details."

"What's the point of finding clues?" Xue Ran was still angry. "Jingzhi doesn't need to look for the murderer who harmed her—who knows if that damned woman who threw her away has any conscience."

"Wait," You Yang interrupted him. "How can you be so sure that Jingzhi was thrown away by a woman?"

Jingzhi sat quietly next to Xue's mother, hugging her mother's shoulder. "Okay, please stop talking. I don't want to know who threw me away or about my unknown background. It's all in the past."

"No... it's not in the past." You Yang interrupted her. "Auntie, think about it again... these details are very important."

Okay, stop asking. You Shiqun suddenly appeared behind them, his voice filled with inexplicable frustration. "I can tell you all the details." "

Dad, how do you know the details?" You Yang's voice was as smooth as cold silk.

"We were discussing that cold-blooded bastard who threw Jingzhi away."

With these words, the rain that had been accumulating outside all day seemed to find an outlet. A deafening roar echoed outside the window, accompanied by a deafening clap of thunder—a tropical storm was about to hit.

"I'm that bastard who threw her away."

You Shiqun's words were like dropping a powerful TNT bomb. Another deafening roar followed, and before anyone could respond, the

bright lights inside the villa flickered a few times and then went out.

The tropical storm that had ravaged Myanmar, causing hundreds of thousands of casualties, had lingered throughout Southeast Asia for over half a month before finally reaching Hong Kong and the southern coast of mainland China. Even though the storm was nearing its end, it still caused a major power outage in Hong Kong and several coastal cities.

"Dad," You Yang's voice was surprisingly gentle and calm: "How did you throw her away? Tell me."

Suddenly, a ray of light appeared in the darkness, drawing everyone's attention.

You Yang toyed with the black ice cross lighter in his hand; the sudden light, flickering between light and shadow, shone in his eyes, radiating a strange and beautiful color…

He never smoked, but since he was a boy, it had been his favorite pastime. He loved the feeling of light in the dark, as if the flame could illuminate his soul.

"Say it, Dad, tell it, and our hearts will be at peace."

Another bolt of lightning, enough to light up the entire hall, flashed across the sky, followed by a deafening thunderclap that seemed to explode right next to their ears.

"Heh, calm?" You Shiqun laughed bitterly: "How could I be calm? More than twenty years have passed, and every time I think about how I ordered that child to be thrown away, I can't be calm..."

He paced back and forth, lost in his memories, oblivious to everyone else; the most ridiculous thing was that I deceived myself during her pregnancy, trying to make everyone believe that the child was mine, even..."

He turned around, strode to Jingzhi, and grabbed her shoulders: "Do you know? I can keep you..." His tone was dark and dangerous: "As long as you say that man's name."

"Why didn't you say it?" You Shiqun sneered, the coldness in his eyes enough to freeze a flame: "She didn't say it... Damn it, you... you actually didn't say it... why didn't you say it?"

"Dad, let go of Jingzhi, you're hurting her." You Yang grasped his wrist: "She is Jingzhi, not Mom."

"Jingzhi...

Chapter 101 DNA (Part 1)

The next morning, Jingzhi woke up in the overcast sky. She turned her head and found herself safely nestled in You Yang's arms.

After arranging for Mom and Xue Ran to stay in the guest room last night, Jingzhi wanted to go back to her own room, but You Yang pulled her back to his room.

With a soft sigh, she frowned at the gloomy sky outside the window. After the chaos of last night, she now only felt dejected, tense, and uneasy. The moment she had been afraid of in her sleep had arrived, and they had to face the future today.

"You Yang," she gently pushed his shoulder. What was coming was coming. She felt there was no need to delay the inevitable outcome, but You Yang turned over and fell into a deep sleep again.

Jingzhi frowned and called his name again, but he turned over in dissatisfaction, then wrapped his arms around her waist, slowly and lazily opening his sleepy eyes.

“Stop fooling around, it’s not even dawn yet, come back…” His hands roamed restlessly up Jingzhi’s bare waist.

“No…” Jingzhi blushed and slapped his hands away, but he only held her soft waist more firmly and pressed her against him.

“Don’t run away. Come back to me.” He groaned hoarsely, “It’s still early…” He held her waist tenderly, his new stubble stinging her cheeks…

“You Yang!” she refused firmly, “Let go, I want to get up.”

He finally realized she was serious. You Yang murmured, slightly confused, as he released her, “What’s wrong? What are you worried about?”

Jingzhi shrank back, realizing she was completely naked. She could feel his warm gaze lingering on her chest, and what pierced her instantly was that inexplicable pain—she loved him so much, and he loved her too.

But she couldn’t ignore the forbidden relationship between them, “We must solve the most important thing first, and… who am I?” "

You Yang seemed to recall Jingzhi from last night... He flinched: "Then what exactly do you want to know?"

"Actually, with technology advanced to this point, finding out if a child is your own is very simple; all you need is a DNA test report."

Jingzhi blinked: "Whose child am I? Are we related by blood? I want to know all of these things."

You Yang looked at her calmly. "Is that so? Is this all you want to know? Do you really have to know this world? Can't you just say it's not okay?"

"I have to know. You Yang, don't you understand? I won't have peace of mind until this secret is solved. We absolutely can't let it drag on any longer."

You Yang stared at her for a long, long time, carefully choosing his words: "Is it really that important? What if I don't want to know? I really don't want to know."

Jingzhi sighed: "But..."

"Why create trouble for yourself?" He coldly interrupted her: "Have you thought about it? What if something happens, and it's really found out? Are we going to be separated because of that test report? That's absurd."

Jingzhi frowned: "Don't you want to know the truth?"

"I really don't want to..." He sighed, sitting up straight: "I don't want to know so much truth. Unless I'm crazy, I will never try to find out if you are my biological sister. What if you really are my sister? If that's the result, will you promise me you won't leave me?"

"I... I just say it's not okay..."

You Yang calmly met her gaze: "Then don't open that box. Who knows what's inside?"

“But…” she asked painfully, “I want to know who my father is, and why my mother insisted on giving birth to me instead of revealing that man’s name?”

“Do these things matter?” A hint of despair suddenly flashed in You Yang’s eyes. “You just need to be with me. Why worry about so much?”

Jingzhi calmly looked back at him. “That wouldn’t be fair to Youyu. Besides, what status do you want me to have with you? Your half-sister? Your lover? The surrogate mother of your child?”

“My wife.” You Yang interrupted her. “I’ve said it many times: marry me, be my wife.”

“I can’t marry you,” Jingzhi blurted out unconsciously, then she saw him narrow his eyes, his face tightening.

“Why not?” The coldness in You Yang’s voice seemed capable of freezing flames, his eyes fixed on her delicate face. He caught every subtle change in her expression: "I seem to remember on Treasure Island, you said you loved me, and last night, you said it too..."

"Could it be..." His voice suddenly turned sarcastic, the pain of rejection making him desperately want to hurt her with words: "Or... it's not that desperate island anymore, you don't need me anymore. After returning to the civilized world, you've remembered your civilized fiancé?"

He mentioned the fictitious fiancé. Jingzhi was momentarily confused and unable to utter a single word. It took her a few seconds to recall this almost forgotten lie.

"It has nothing to do with him..." Jingzhi said with difficulty, "He..."

"I'm suddenly very curious, who is he? The man who shared women with me, what's his name?" You Yang's aggressive gaze burned at her: "This man must be very charming, or, compared to him, I'm only qualified to be your lover. And the perfect, tolerant gentleman in your heart is qualified to be your husband, isn't he?"

His almost furious roar lashed at her like a whip. Jingzhi stared wide-eyed at his face in surprise. You Yang was extremely angry. He seemed to want to vent his dissatisfaction through this anger.

"You Yang. You don't understand, he..." He didn't even exist. But could she say that? Was she supposed to tell him it was all a lie? Just because she was afraid?

Jingzhi stared blankly as he jumped out of bed with a sour face and started putting on his trousers.

"You Yang..." She watched him quickly put on his clothes with almost helpless eyes. She leaned forward and instinctively wanted to reach out and touch his arm.

He shoved her away, and Jingzhi fell back onto the bed. When he turned to face her, his face was twisted with an almost fierce expression: "You're a heartless woman!"

"You're just picking a fight," Jingzhi retorted angrily. "You go crazy the moment I mention going to get a DNA test. When did I say I was going back to find some fiancé?"

"I'm tired of your excuses. No need to bother with a DNA test. I'm telling you now, you're free." He forcefully put on his shirt. Then his shoes.

"You Yang, what exactly are you angry about?" Jingzhi tried to grab his arm.

Youyang shrugged and dodged her. As if she were a leper, his voice was hoarse and full of anger: "Stay away from me, I don't need you!"

Perhaps a month ago, Jingzhi might have been frightened by his hostile roar, but now, after they had gone through that disaster together, she understood Youyang. She knew he could be willful at times, as temperamental as a child—perhaps his bad temper was a result of being spoiled as a rich young master?

She suddenly realized that his anger might be a way to mask his frustration and helplessness—because he was afraid of losing her.

"Youyang, you're not a child anymore," Jingzhi swallowed her fear, trying to appear mature and rational. "Do you act so irrationally when you encounter setbacks? Even a squid is cuter than you."

"What did you say?" Youyang repeated her words in surprise: "Are you saying I'm irrational?"

"Yes, you are irrational!" Jingzhi jumped off the bed, chin in hand, and walked up to him. The long sheet wrapped around her almost made her trip: "And on top of that, you lack confidence." “

Lack of confidence?” You Yang repeated.

“Yes. Otherwise. How could you think you’re not as good as my fiancé in my eyes before you’ve even met him? You’re insecure.”

“Nonsense.”

“Alright.” Jingzhi smiled: “Come with me to get a DNA test. If you’re not afraid, then come with me.”

“No. Not going isn’t out of fear.” You Yang grabbed her chin, his eyes filled with unfathomable emotions: “You really want to get tested?”

“Yes.” Jingzhi’s answer was resolute.

“Okay, I’ll go with you, but…” He narrowed his eyes: “You can’t use any test results as a reason to leave.”

“Okay, I promise you. ”

When You Shiqun woke up, his head was throbbing, as if a bulldozer had run over it. The

room was dimly lit, and he groaned as he got out of bed. He stumbled to the window and opened it... The sky outside was overcast and gloomy, and the air was damp. He heard the boy's uniquely excited and joyful shouts coming from the poolside in the backyard, accompanied by a melodious, silvery laugh—her laughter.

He froze.

How many years had it been? How many years had this house been without this? That cheerful laughter?

Then, amidst that silvery laughter, a bright and clear laugh joined in… his son's laughter, that was You Yang's laughter. How many years had it been since he'd heard You Yang's laughter?

And Jingzhi… her melodious laughter sounded like her mother's, his Lan'er.

Judging from the sound, You Yang and the others were probably playing by the pool in the backyard, a happy family.

You Shiqun stood there, stunned. His breathing became rapid. He thought of Lan'er… in his memory. Even when she lied, she laughed so calmly and beautifully.

"Shiqun. We have a child…" She said this lie without even blinking.

What a joke. You Shiqun sneered. He wouldn't have a child at all; this secret was known only to him after Aitan dumped You Yang on him. This woman he had always loved and pampered had actually lied?

"A child?" He remembered his gaze turning cold as he opened his arms to her embrace. "When did this happen?" His lips lightly brushed her earlobe.

"You hadn't been in America long when you found out," Lan'er said happily, wrapping her arms around his neck. "Oh my god, I always thought it was over, but now it's great. Youyang has a companion, I wonder if it's a brother or a sister?"

You Shiqun took her hand, removing it from his neck... She looked at him sleepily, and You Shiqun looked down at her. She was truly beautiful, irresistibly beautiful... He picked her up and laid her down on the bed. "Did you miss me?"

"Yes..." she smiled. She was still so charming and alluring on the bed.

"How much do you miss me?" You Shiqun's lips curled into a smile. "Let me know."

"Shiqun..." Her gaze became hazy under his deliberate and skillful caresses. "Shiqun, I miss you so much."

You Shiqun smiled. "Let me feel you, Lan'er, take off your clothes."

"Okay..."

Her fingertips trembled slightly as the soft fabric slowly slipped away, his trembling fingers tracing her delicate, boneless curves.
"Tell me... how much you miss me..."

"Shiqun..." She hesitated under his almost rough plunder. "Slow down, the doctor said I'm newly pregnant,

I can't..."

"Can't?" You Shiqun smiled tentatively. "You can..."

His fingers, which had just been gently stroking her soft, long hair, suddenly tightened!

"Ah..." She cried out in pain, pulled off the bed and kneeling down. "Shiqun, what are you doing..."

"What am I doing? Don't you know?" You Shiqun could hear his own voice barely audible: "Do you think I don't know that while I was away from the country for the past few months, Han Cheng visited you every day, and you even went to England together."

"Shiqun, let go," Lan'er pleaded in a low voice, "Let go, you're hurting me..."

"Hurting? You're hurting?" You Shiqun chuckled almost neurotically in a low voice: "What about me? Am I hurting? I always thought you would be different, I thought that apart from not being able to give you a child, I could give you so much... I never expected that you, like Aitan, wouldn't even spare my best friend."

"No... what are you talking about, I don't understand..." Lan'er's eyes were filled with tears: "Believe me, the child is yours..."

"Mine?" You Shiqun smiled bitterly, he could taste the bitterness on his lips. He looked at his wife and his child beneath him, how could he not want them?

Unfortunately... during the time he was in America, did she think he was just sightseeing?

“Say it again,” he gripped her chin, “Say it again, who is the father of the child? If you tell me, I won’t hurt the child.”

“The father is you.” Lan’er protected her stomach, her eyes filled with defiance: “I won’t believe you until the baby is born!”

“Haha,” You Shiqun sneered, “Over the years, there have been women who came to me crying and holding their children, but none of them were real. Don’t you really know that?”

“You Yang…”

“You Yang is an exception,” he forced out the words through gritted teeth, looking at his wife whose expression was almost like that of a pure angel, but his heart was actually in the deepest pain.

He hoped deep down that he was wrong, that Lan’er wasn’t that kind of person!

If she really had betrayed him, and then could still cry her heart out, then he had to banish her from his heart.

As soon as possible…

But it was too late. He had fallen in love with her. He didn’t know when it happened, but when he realized it, she was already deeply connected to him, inseparable…

“Will you tell me or not?” He knelt between her spread legs, his fingers already dangerously gripping her neck.

“No…” She was unusually unusually docile, desperately protecting her stomach.

“Fine, abort it!”

“No…”

You Shiqun was stunned. He looked down at the woman in disbelief. She had suddenly turned into a little lion, fiercely resisting him, whereas before she had never argued with him.

Yes, now this woman was afraid, struggling, but it was actually his heart that was afraid, struggling…

from the moment she resisted him for the sake of the child in her womb. All his foundations and beliefs about life collapsed. Everything he had strived for, even his career, became insignificant in that instant.

“Damn it. Don’t resist me!” He pinned her down: “You won’t tell me who he is, you don’t even know who this person is… and you won’t abort… fine, the child will be sent directly to an orphanage.”

“You… are too cruel…”

She turned her head away. Tears streamed down his face. "You'll regret it...you'll regret it..."

You Shiqun sighed. He had never considered throwing the child in the trash, but the maid who had taken the child away... He hesitated, recalling the maid's words and expression...

"Don't worry, everything will be perfect." The maid's eager expression for the money was still vivid in his mind.

But the difference between the orphanage entrance and the hospital's obstetrics and gynecology ward trash can was too great.

...

He quietly circled around to the swimming pool at the back of the house, standing silently in the shadows watching You Yang stubbornly trying to teach a squid to float...

Suddenly, the water stirred. Jingzhi, who had been swimming underwater, surfaced like a mermaid. When she saw You Shiqun's Italian leather shoes, You Shiqun could feel his heart pounding.

In the bright sunlight, she was truly beautiful—her snow-white, delicate skin, straight and smooth like the finest porcelain.

"You guys seem to be having a great time." You Shiqun stood still, he could feel himself holding his breath—her thick, black hair shimmered with a halo of light in the bright sunlight.

"Oh..." Jingzhi, now engrossed in her play, looked up at him and smiled: "Sorry, we used your pool, but this pool was built to satisfy our vanity and ambition, wasn't it?"

"Dad!" You Yang threw the squid into a pile of buoyancy foam and swam towards You Shiqun: "Jingzhi and I went to get our DNA tested."

"How was it?" You Shiqun remained cold.

"The results aren't out yet."

"Actually, you didn't need to do the test." Before turning to leave, You Shiqun chuckled softly: "The DNA was tested five years ago."

"What?" Jingzhi murmured.

"Child... do you think I would allow my grandson to be an intellectually disabled person born of inbreeding?"

Jingzhi froze on the spot. Instantly, the entire pool water turned icy cold.

Chapter 102 Results

What exactly did You Shiqun mean?

Five years ago?

You Yangyou said to Jingzhi, "I remember now. Five years ago, when you were pregnant with Squid, Dad tested Squid's DNA. Maybe the result showed that Squid wasn't the product of incestuous marriage?"

"What? So, at least you and I aren't related by blood?"

"Yes, that's what Dad meant."

You Yang hugged Jingzhi tightly. In that instant, all his fear vanished. As long as they weren't related by blood, she was everything to him now!

You Shiqun returned to his room, his mind heavy with worry. He silently poured himself a glass of Martell.

The phone rang at just the right moment; it was Tie Yikun.

"I said," Tie Yikun said slowly on the other end of the line, "I got the DNA report from five years ago from that hospital, and then the testing center compared your DNA with that of the two children..."

"What were the results?" You Shiqun's hand holding the glass suddenly turned white. "No, don't tell me... let me tell you..."

"Cough... okay, the results were quite unexpected."

"Jingzhi... she... is my daughter?" You Shiqun tentatively asked.

"Shiqun, how... how did you know? Didn't you initially not believe it?" Tie Yikun asked in surprise.

“I still don’t believe it,” he said, gripping his cup tightly. You Shiqun almost slumped to the ground, still unable to believe her, unable to believe what had happened. “I don’t believe this from the bottom of my heart, because I know You Yang isn’t… I just… I just deliberately wanted to give the wrong answer.”

“You know You Yang isn’t?” Tie Yikun asked in surprise.

“I knew from the day You Yang came.” You Shiqun half-closed his eyes. “He’s Aitan and Hancheng’s child.”

“Then why did you acknowledge him?”

“Because I thought I would never have children in this life, and I wanted to give Lan’er a child.”

Tie Yikun sighed, “Shiqun, you’ve outsmarted yourself. How do you know you won’t have children? Lan’er never knew about your illness, yet she’s pregnant, and you’ve misunderstood her.”

“Don’t say anymore…” You Shiqun released his grip, and the crystal glass, which had been intact just moments before, shattered into a pile of sparkling fragments. “I still don’t believe it.”

“You can’t not believe it,” Tie Yikun’s tone suddenly became very formal. “The test results show that she is your child. Science doesn’t lie. I’ll send you the test results now.”

“I know,” You Shiqun smiled bitterly. “I know… thank you.”

He slowly put down the phone, feeling a sudden numbness and sluggishness in his heart, but this couldn’t stop the throbbing pain in his chest.

She actually… she actually chose not to tell him that he was truly the child's father, she actually used such a ruthless way to retaliate against him…

He forced himself to stand up, and this time, even when he crushed the cup, he didn't cut his hand?

But none of that mattered anymore…

He had always thought… always thought Lan'er loved him, even though she had betrayed him physically, she still loved him.

But now he wasn't sure anymore. His heart clenched, all the color drained from his face, and he remembered the hazy look in her eyes when he took the child from her arms.

He stared blankly for a while, his mind unsettled.

The fax machine beside him beeped, spewing out a long string of papers. He picked up the report that had been sent, but he couldn't concentrate on reading it.

All he could see was her blank gaze—empty as death…

He closed his eyes in anguish, clenching his fists. After the child was sent away, she never smiled again. The days that followed were long and dreary. She never spoke of the child he had abandoned—their child—until she slowly withered like a flower.

And him? He buried himself in his work, exhausting himself to forget the pain—the pain of being betrayed by his beloved wife.

But…

what he never expected was… that the child he had so heartlessly abandoned was actually his own flesh and blood?

How ironic!

He was going crazy!

Was this Ah’s ultimate revenge? Revenge for his disbelief in her loyalty?

Sweat beaded on You Shiqun’s forehead. He remembered how he had snatched that tiny baby from her arms…

He remembered the baby’s legs kicking frantically, her big eyes staring at him, thinking he was playing with her. He would always remember that baby girl’s smile…

He remembered the first time he met Jingzhi at the beach, Jingzhi’s smile…

He remembered how his heart had been struck a heavy blow, that smile so familiar…

He remembered how he had paced anxiously outside Jingzhi’s delivery room, listening to the screams of the pregnant woman inside. He remembered how he had recalled Lan’er…

He remembered…

he remembered so much, too much to recall.

The door clicked open softly, and Squid's small figure appeared and disappeared in the crack. "Grandpa, what are you doing?"

Squid looked curiously at You Shiqun's stiff back, not understanding why his grandfather was ignoring him.

"Grandpa!" he called out louder.

You Shiqun turned around, stood up almost mechanically, took two steps toward the child, then stumbled and fell straight in front of Squid...

"Grandpa, Grandpa!" Squid ran over, squatted down, and gently pushed him. "What's wrong? Get up, play with Youyu. Grandpa loves Mommy, but you're ignoring me."

...

"Waaah... Grandpa, what's wrong? Don't scare me."

"Daddy, Mommy..." The child finally realized something was wrong, turned around, and ran out to find someone.

Chapter 103 Serious Illness

All the sounds became distant and ethereal...

You Shiqun seemed to suddenly lose his form, slowly floating in the room. He looked at Squid, swaying with a hint of surprise, then turned and ran away.

He looked down at himself, lying silently on the floor… Was this his end?

A hint of mockery crossed his face as the door opened and a large group of people rushed in, including the housekeeper, Uncle Li, You Yang, Jingzhi, Ding Lei, Aunt Xue, Xue Ran…

This was his end. Every morning he woke up in the arms of different women during his years of womanizing and philandering, he had imagined his fate countless times. Killed

by a cuckolded husband, drained by an unsatisfied mistress, poisoned by a woman who hated him to the core, accidentally drowning in the bathtub after a passionate encounter…

He had imagined countless times his glorious death, and every time he thought about accidentally dying in the headlines, he wanted to laugh out loud. But he had never imagined dying like this.

This death was utterly ridiculous, devoid of creativity and meaning. A simple heart attack, and it was all over?

"Dad!" You Yang's voice pierced through the fog: "Dad, you must wake up!"

"Young Master..." Uncle Li directed the servants to bring over a long wooden plank: "Getting the master to the hospital is the priority."

You Shiqun's consciousness drifted in the air. He recognized the wooden plank as the chef's worktable in the kitchen and couldn't help but be amused by the chaotic scene...

Jingzhi couldn't squeeze to the front at all. Her gaze fell on a long strip of fax paper coming out of the fax machine on the bar. She glanced at the long fax paper and found that it seemed to have her name on it.

"Hmm?" Curious, she picked up the paper and looked down, then her face turned deathly pale—she was actually You Shiqun's biological daughter?

Whoosh…

Suddenly, a cold, chilling wind swept across the back of her neck, and Jingzhi shivered.

The long lab report consisted of two parts. The first part was a comparison of the amniotic fluid from when she was pregnant with You five years ago with You Yang's DNA. The second part was a comparison of You Shiqun's blood type and DNA with her and You Yang's DNA.

The DNA test results for You Yang and You Shiqun stated: Incompatible.

But the DNA test results for her and You Shiqun stated: Compatible, 99.99999% probability of biological parentage.

99.99999%…

Why is this happening? Jingzhi frantically rubbed her eyes, but the report was clear and there was no possibility of error.

My God, how could this be?

Jingzhi caught up with the panicked crowd. Before You Shiqun could even be carried out of the study, the medical personnel who had rushed over after receiving the call had already taken over everything.

A standard medical stretcher, oxygen, and emergency medications... the ambulance was fully equipped. Jingzhi accompanied You Yang into the ambulance, which sped into the rushing traffic with its siren blaring.

Jingzhi finally witnessed the usefulness of this well-equipped ambulance. In the congested traffic of a busy metropolis, this perfectly equipped ambulance was practically a mobile emergency room.

The emergency doctors quickly diagnosed the patient's condition and then decisively initiated external assisted cardioversion.

By the time the ambulance entered a large hospital, You Shiqun's previously flat electrocardiogram finally began to slowly show signs of life.

...

In a VIP ward of a hospital in Hong Kong, Jingzhi gently pushed open the door. The room was quiet, with only the monotonous hissing of the oxygen cylinders.

The curtains were half-drawn. She looked around the room; it resembled a flower shop, with every corner filled with fresh flowers, but the patient lying in bed showed no improvement.

Looking haggard, You Yang stood up from beside You Shiqun's bedside. "Jingzhi..."

"How is he? Has...Dad improved at all?"

"No." You Yang shook his head helplessly. "Come in."

Jingzhi closed the door and tiptoed into the room. The fragrant floral scent inside almost made her sneeze.

You Shiqun lay pale among a pile of tubes and instruments. His usually sarcastic smile was, for the first time, devoid of mockery or any other expression.

Instead, he looked remarkably young and fragile, like You Yang's older brother.

Jingzhi stood by the window, staring incredulously at the faint gray hairs at You Shiqun's temples. "His hair..."

"Yes, Dad's hair has turned a bit grayer these days, it seems to get a little grayer every day." You Yang sighed in distress. "What exactly triggered this?"

"The test results are in." Jingzhi suddenly said out of the blue, then shoved a stack of papers into his hand. "The top one is the report we did, and the bottom one... is what was sent to your father from China."

"What?" You Yang took it, frowning as he looked at it. The more he looked, the more his brows furrowed. He looked up and said definitively, "This report must be fake."

“I hope it’s not true.” Jingzhi smiled bitterly. “Do you think I don’t want to? What exactly is going on? What are we going to do?”

“There’s nothing we can do.” You Yang threw the report on the sofa chair. “Don’t worry about these things for now. The doctor has already given Dad a critical condition notice.”

“What?”

“It’s very serious.” You Yang’s lips twitched. His gaze shifted to You Shiqun’s pale face. “He may never wake up… He… has always been so tall and strong in my heart. He… is almost immortal…”

Jingzhi gripped his hand tightly, and he gripped it back. “I believe he will wake up!”

Chapter 104 The End (Part 1)

“The weather is nice today.”

Jingzhi pushed open the window with a light tone, then turned to look at You Shiqun. You Shiqun, lying on the hospital bed, had his eyes open, but seemed not to hear her words.

Jingzhi sighed. You Shiqun had been awake for almost a week. The doctor told the family that fortunately, the rescue was timely, and there were no sequelae.

But he seemed to have lost his ability to speak?

He just kept his eyes open, his eyes wide open, unfocused, and expressionless. He didn't react to anyone who came to see him, including Squid.

Jingzhi and Youyang were terrified by his condition. They thought it would be a relief if You Shiqun woke up, but he just wouldn't speak. His body was still weak, and although he had begun to recover, the process was very slow.

Yes, even though You Shiqun was awake, he wasn't mentally alert. He just kept his eyes open all day, showing no reaction to what others said.

Just like now, Jingzhi opened the window to let in fresh air and deliberately spoke to him, hoping he would respond.

But You Shiqun just kept his eyes open, seemingly deep in thought, but his expression was blank.

Jingzhi sighed, went to his bedside, and tucked him in. What to do? You Shiqun's eyes had become dry from being open day and night, and then, due to the body's natural reaction, his eyes began to secrete tears to moisten his eyeballs...

Sure enough, upon closer inspection, Jingzhi saw that tears were slowly seeping from You Shiqun's eyes again. She had no choice but to use a sterilized wet wipe to wipe away his tears.

She had consulted a doctor about how to treat this inability to close his eyes. The doctor shook his head, simply handing her a tube of eye ointment and saying, "If all else fails, just apply some eye ointment."

Jingzhi sighed. She didn't know how long this would last, but You Shiqun had been like this for almost a week, and this couldn't go on forever.

"Grandpa!" A loud, small child's voice rang out at the door of the ward. With the voice, Squid rushed in, followed closely by You Yang, whose face was grave and dark.

"How is he?" You Yang looked at You Shiqun, then at Jingzhi: "Daddy's still not better?"

Jingzhi shook her head.

What to do? Even experienced doctors had never encountered this situation before.

"Grandpa, Grandpa! Squid's here, Squid's come to see you... Waaah, Daddy... Why isn't Grandpa talking to me?" Squid raised his little face, looking at You Yang in surprise.

You Yang frowned. Squid had already climbed onto You Shiqun's bedside without permission. "Squid, don't bother Grandpa, get down."

"No!" Squid resolutely hugged You Shiqun's neck. "I want to stay with Grandpa, Grandpa..."

"Dad..." You Shiqun, who hadn't spoken until now, suddenly blurted out this when Squid called for Grandpa.

Dad? Jingzhi and You Yang were both stunned.

"Dad... Dad..." You Shiqun continued to utter the word. His blank gaze swept over Squid and looked at Jingzhi...

Jingzhi froze. "You... you called me...?" She rushed over and grabbed You Shiqun's hand. "You, you want me to call you Dad?"

You Shiqun didn't speak, he just blinked, blinked... He hadn't slept for almost 7 days, but he was blinking now?

"Dad..." Jingzhi called out this word that was already unfamiliar to her without hesitation.

You Shiqun blinked again, then the lines on his face contorted stiffly… He smiled.

“Dad, Dad…” Jingzhi called repeatedly, burying her face in his hand, letting her tears flow slowly.

“Hmm…” You Shiqun responded softly, then closed his eyes and fell into a deep sleep…

The doctor who came in later was also surprised that You Shiqun had fallen asleep, but whoever was who, he held Jingzhi’s hand tightly, refusing to let go…

“The patient’s condition is improving further, but…” the doctor’s tone remained hesitant: “Do you know, only when he finally lets go of the burden in his heart will he find peace of mind?”

“What do you mean?” Jingzhi and You Yang didn’t understand.

"What's so difficult about that?" Squid interjected, "Grandpa wants Mom and Dad to get married, otherwise why would he make Mom call him Dad?"

You Yang slowly squatted down next to Jingzhi, "Maybe Squid guessed right this time?"

"Maybe?" Jingzhi answered him weakly, "But...he..."

"No buts, no yeses." You Yang hugged her tightly and kissed her cheek, "Wait for me, I'm going to find the judge!"

Chapter 104 The Ending (Part 2)

The ending of all perfect love stories is that the prince and princess walk down the aisle and live happily ever after.

The prelude to You Yang and Jingzhi's wedding, however, proceeded methodically like a classic soap opera.

There weren't many people attending the ceremony, only a few close relatives and friends, Xue's mother and Xue Ran, and lawyer Tie Yikun.

Since neither of them had local ID cards, the wedding had to go through a complicated approval process. Fortunately, the manager of You's branch in Hong Kong was very efficient and quickly got everything sorted out.

Judge Song, an acquaintance of Tie Yikun in Hong Kong, was invited to oversee the wedding. Under his supervision, the couple had to sign a mountain of legal documents. What

surprised Jingzhi most was the prenuptial agreement—she had been startled when she first received it.

The same thick agreement, the same one from Tie Yikun, but five years had passed. Jingzhi suppressed her trembling fear and calmly accepted the agreement.

"This agreement was drafted by Mr. You two months ago," Tie Yikun patiently explained. "He believed You Yang would need it for his wedding."

"Two months ago?" Jingzhi repeated blankly. Two months ago was the time she returned to China. Could it be…?

"Why is there an agreement?" You Yang frowned. "We don't need any agreement."

"Believe me, this agreement must be signed, otherwise Mr. You won't agree."

Mr. You won't agree?

Jingzhi turned her gaze to You Shiqun. You Shiqun was now sober, but he remained silent, neither supporting nor opposing Tie Yikun's words.

Jingzhi sighed. What exactly was You Shiqun planning? Five years ago, she was already bewildered by an agreement relinquishing child custody. Was this agreement going to be the same? After hesitating for a long time, she finally gritted her teeth and took the agreement.

Opening the thick folder, she found the main text of the agreement. Jingzhi patiently read on, her expression gradually shifting from forced reluctance to surprise…

You Yang snatched the agreement away. He had made up his mind—if there were any more terrible clauses in the agreement, he would be the first to object. However, the more he read, the more surprised he became…

You Shiqun had actually formally transferred all his shares to them, and he had also put Jingzhi in charge of the daily work of the foundation for impoverished girls. All of You Shiqun's movable and immovable assets had been given to the two of them all at once.

“Dad…” You Yang looked at You Shiqun in confusion. This… this… was less a notarized property agreement and more a gift of property, or something like a will.

You Shiqun closed his eyes briefly, as if to confirm the authenticity of the agreement once again.

While signing the agreement, Jingzhi felt something was off. It seemed that whenever she was involved with You Yang, there was always an agreement. After hurriedly signing the large stack of documents, her mood became heavy.

Was this really the marriage she wanted?

Jingzhi secretly glanced at You Shiqun, who was resting with his eyes closed. She didn't know what this man was thinking. Why had he drafted this agreement two months ago?

Was this fate already predetermined when he forced her to leave five years ago?

No, that couldn't be right... Jingzhi recalled what You Shiqun had said and done before and after. It seemed that he... he himself was also confused.

Also, since You Shiqun woke up, he had been terribly stubborn. He would pull out his IV drip when the nurses weren't looking, and then he openly refused to take his medication. He only became better when Jingzhi personally took care of him.

He would eat the porridge that Jingzhi cooked for him, and of course, only Jingzhi could stop him from pulling out the IV.

To be precise, Jingzhi was like his spiritual anchor; he felt uneasy and anxious whenever he couldn't see her.

You Yang silently watched everything unfold, showing little emotion.

The wedding ceremony then began. Because Hong Kong was a British colony, this kind of notarized marriage had a British style. First, the judge read out the duties and rights of the couple, then a pastor specially invited for the wedding was present.

"Wait, why is there a pastor?" Jingzhi looked at You Yang in surprise.

"Because this pastor officiated at Mom and Dad's wedding," You Yang whispered in Jingzhi's ear, so her father insisted on having him officiate.

Dad again…

Jingzhi almost tugged at her formal and perfect pure white dress, and the beautiful Brussels handmade lace veil she wore—these were Lan'er's wedding dresses from years ago.

Jingzhi was terrified, not because the dress was inappropriate, but because of a more terrifying outcome: she feared that You Shiqun, in his delirium, would mistake her for her mother.

Yes, she looked very much like her, just as Wu Ma said, the more she looked… the more she resembled her.

“You Yang…” She wanted to voice her worries, but dared not.

“You’re beautiful.” You Yang smiled and kissed the corner of her lips. “Don’t worry about Dad, and don’t worry about the current situation. I’m here for you.”

Jingzhi looked up into his eyes. For the first time, she boldly looked directly into his eyes, and then realized why she hadn’t seen it before—he loved her, just as she loved him. “

I’m here for you”—just those words put Jingzhi’s heart at ease…

She placed her hand in his palm, and he smiled and squeezed it.

The pastor was an elderly man with white hair, very old. He tremblingly announced the start of the wedding, then held up a Bible that was almost an antique, saying:

“We gather here today to witness the wedding of Mr. You Yang and Ms. Xue Jingzhi. God is our witness. If anyone thinks this wedding is not in accordance with the holy teachings, please point it out at this moment…”

It was a routine question, but Jingzhi felt her palms sweating. Everyone present was her closest relatives and friends; there were no outsiders. What was she afraid of?

The old pastor remained silent for a moment, and no one spoke.

Jingzhi turned to look at Xue's mother. Xue Ran, standing beside her, frowned, his face tense. He seemed to want to take a step forward, but Xue's mother stopped him.

“No one objects now, so please remain silent in the future, no matter what reasons you may have…”

Before the old pastor could finish speaking, the tightly closed door was suddenly pushed open.

“Wait a minute, I object!” Before anyone could be seen, a loud voice was heard: “The wedding cannot proceed.”

You Shiqun, lying on the hospital bed, suddenly opened his eyes, and everyone stared wide-eyed at the doorway in surprise.

The people who entered were Aitan and Han Cheng…

“Damn it…” You Shiqun groaned.

“Not ghosts, people.” Aitan answered in a drawn-out voice, “Shiqun, aren’t you cursing us?”

“What do you want?” You Shiqun, contrary to his weak and listless state, became sharper in tone: “I won’t allow you to stop their wedding.”

“Stop?” Han Cheng was taken aback, then burst into laughter: “We’re not here to stop them, on the contrary, we’re here to attend the wedding. Old You, you’re getting more and more outrageous. Your children’s wedding, and you’re doing such a shabby affair.”

You Shiqun frowned: “What did you say?”

“I said… you’re getting more and more stingy!” Han Cheng stepped forward and placed a large paper bag next to You Shiqun’s bed: “This is my gift for the newlyweds.”

The paper bag was torn open, and everyone gasped—it was a dazzling and crystal-clear diamond crown.

“Wait…” You Yang stopped him, “Uncle Han, my dad’s health isn’t good, don’t upset him.”

“What do you mean by upset?” Han Cheng curled his lip, “Can’t a father give his daughter-in-law a little gift?”

Everyone was stunned, then their gazes shifted from Han Cheng to You Shiqun. Tie Yikun let out a breath; he finally realized why everyone had previously thought You Shiqun was You Yang’s biological father.

Han Cheng’s build and facial features were very similar to You Shiqun’s, so…

everyone turned to look at Ai Tan again. Who was this woman?

Ai Tan sighed. She hadn’t wanted to come, but Han Cheng had still orchestrated this dramatic meeting. “It has little to do with me.” She waved her hand at You Shiqun’s gaze, “I always thought the child was yours.”

Now things were in complete chaos. Fortunately, when Tie Yikun and the two of them entered, he had asked the judge and the pastor to rest in the lounge. Only the family members witnessed this chaotic scene.

"Alright, stop arguing!" You Yang's voice suddenly pierced through the chaotic conversation. "The point isn't whose child I am, I just want a smooth wedding."

"Oh? Of course!" Han Cheng patted You Yang's shoulder, his face beaming. "It'll be done soon, right, old You..."

Even Jingzhi rolled her eyes this time.

After a long period of arguing, the pastor and judge were finally brought back out. The old pastor wiped the sweat from his brow with a snow-white handkerchief. "So, if there are no objections, the wedding will continue..."

"Wait!" Another loud, bold, and slightly affected voice rang out by the door.

Here we go again. This time, You Yang turned around almost murderously. He wanted to kill anyone who dared to stop his wedding!

But this time, he froze.

Standing by the door was a handsome foreign man with healthy, tanned skin. Strands of golden hair, like sunlight, danced in his dark brown curls. His aristocratic features, the gleaming white teeth that shone when he smiled, and his hazel-green eyes…

wow, what a stunningly handsome man…

Chapter 104 Ending (Part 2)

What made You Yang clench his fist even tighter was that Jingzhi, standing beside him, broke free from his grasp upon seeing this handsome man and ran towards him by the door: “Patrick? Patrick…” "K, is it really you?"

You Yang froze on the spot. He could hear excitement and surprise in Jingzhi's voice, and even a hint of girlish coquettishness...

He stared blankly as Jingzhi ran into this man's arms, and Patrick smiled, hugging Jingzhi tightly and spinning her around. Jingzhi's snow-white dress fluttered like the white petals of a gardenia...

Jingzhi was actually smiling at another man, and they seemed to know each other well. You Yang clenched his fist, the fake dagger digging into his palm. It hurt... or perhaps it wasn't his palm that hurt?

It was his heart aching. Although he knew Jingzhi had mentioned having a fiancé, he had never concretized that vaguely defined man. But he never expected... never expected that such a person would actually appear.

If it were You Yang five years ago, or even two months ago, he might have stormed off in a fit of anger!

But now, after experiencing so much, he seemed to have become much calmer.

"Jingzhi...you got married and didn't even tell me?" Patrick released Jingzhi, grabbed her shoulders, and pushed her away slightly. "If I hadn't received that call from Xue Ran, and if I hadn't been attending an international academic conference at the Chinese University of Hong Kong, I really wouldn't have made it."

Xue Ran? Jingzhi turned around suddenly. Xue Ran avoided her gaze. This girl, even though she had no chance, she still wouldn't give up.

You Yang frowned. What language was this man speaking? Not English, not French, and certainly not Russian. Right, Jingzhi had mentioned that she had been going to Italy all these years.

Italy... You Yang's understanding of Italian men came solely from football. Italian football had a huge female fanbase, simply because of those handsome men who made women scream.

These Italians, as descendants of the ancient Romans, inherited almost all the excellent qualities of their ancestors. It can be said that the most classically handsome men in Europe are none other than Italians. They possess sharply defined Roman faces, melancholic and deep eyes, physiques as strong as Apollo, and a masculine spirit reminiscent of ancient Roman gladiators.

Italian men are practically the epitome of the perfect lover. If Jingzhi couldn't see this man's perfection, she would truly be blind, and he was certain that Jingzhi wasn't blind either.

You Yang strode forward: "Jingzhi." Although he called her Jingzhi, his gaze never left Patrick's face: "Who is this gentleman? Aren't you going to introduce me?"

"Oh." Jingzhi snapped out of her reverie, "You Yang, this is Patrick, he... is a very good friend."

"Oh, Xiao Jing..." Patrick's face flashed with a captivating smile, his Chinese still rather broken: "You're more than just my friend."

He extended his hand to You Yang: "It seems you're the lucky one who has appeared in Xiao Jing's life, her true love."

"Oh..." Jingzhi corrected him softly: "It's her true love, not her name."

"Yes, that's right..." Patrick gripped You Yang's hand tightly, giving him a smile like an old friend: "Xiao Jing can be quite stubborn sometimes."

"Yes, I know." You Yang narrowed his eyes, his gaze full of wariness. What other charming personality traits of Jingzhi did this man know?

Even with Jingzhi's naturally easygoing nature, when two men held hands for so long, their gazes almost igniting sparks, Jingzhi couldn't be so oblivious as to miss the sudden hostility between them.

"Okay...okay," Jingzhi tugged at Youyang from behind, "Patrick, you sit down first, our ceremony will be over in a bit."

"You want me to sit?" Patrick asked, his thick eyebrows furrowing. "I believe I've already made my intentions very clear; I'm here to stop this marriage."

"Stop? What right do you have?" You Yang was also furious, his tone becoming increasingly aggressive.

"Jingzhi promised me." Patrick turned to look at Jingzhi with doting eyes: "Jingzhi, have you forgotten? You promised me you would be the mistress of my castle?"

"No!" Jingzhi hurriedly denied before You Yang could speak: "That was a joke, and I was talking about the library in your castle."

"But..."

"There are no buts!" You Yang grabbed Jingzhi: "She's mine, she was five years ago, and she will be even more so in the future! You want her? Don't even think about it!"

"Oh, Jingzhi..." Patrick completely ignored You Yang and turned to look at Jingzhi.

Jingzhi gritted her teeth, turned around, and waved to Squid, who was standing to the side acting as a flower girl: "Squid, come here."

Squid, dressed like a little angel, ran over, and Jingzhi squeezed the child's hand: "This is my child, named Squid, he's five years old."

Patrick quietly looked at the child, then squatted down to be at eye level with him: "It's nice to meet you, you're a handsome little boy."

"Oh, thank you." Squid accepted the compliment without hesitation, then blinked: "You're handsome too, Uncle, but I won't betray my mother just because you compliment me."

"Oh? Then what would it take for you to give me your mother?" Patrick's interest grew, and he decided to ask as many questions as he could.

“Uncle, you’re so silly.” Squid shook his head. “A mother is a mother, how can she be given to anyone other than a father?”

“Hahaha…” Patrick laughed at the child’s innocent remark. He picked up Squid and gave him a big kiss on his cheek. “Good boy.” Then he stood up and looked at You Yang directly. “I lost, but I lost because I didn’t know Jingzhi before you. I lost even more because I don’t have such a lovely child…”

“I understand…” You Yang looked back at him, his hostility turning into a warm smile. “That’s why I cherish her even more.”

“I hope you’re not lying.” Patrick’s hazel-green eyes deepened. “If you’re lying, I’ll come and take her away anytime.”

“Don’t worry, I won’t give you a chance.” You Yang smiled back.

Finally, the interrupted ceremony resumed.

The old pastor slowly said to them, “I’m going to ask you both the same question. It’s a long question, so please answer after you’ve heard it.”

They nodded.

"You Yang, do you take Xue Jingzhi to be your wife, to live with her according to the teachings of the Bible, to be united with her before God, to love her, comfort her, respect her, and protect her as you love yourself? Whether she is sick or healthy, rich or poor, to remain faithful to her until death do you part?"

"I do," You Yang's voice was loud and clear.

"Xue Jingzhi, do you take You Yang to be your wife, to live with him according to the teachings of the Bible, to be united with him before God, to love him, comfort him, respect him, and protect him as you love yourself? Whether he is sick or healthy, rich or poor, to remain faithful to him until death do you part?"

"I do..."

Then came the exchange of rings, and the pastor's voice rang out again: "The ring is gold, signifying that you are giving each other your most precious love as the most precious gift. Gold never rusts or fades, representing your love lasting forever. It is round, representing unreserved devotion, endless commitment, and unbreakable bond."

Jingzhi looked down at the ring You Yang had placed on her finger, blinked, and for a moment couldn't believe it was real.

“You Yang, please repeat after me, word by word: This is my wedding token to you. I will marry you, love you, and protect you. Whether in poverty or wealth, in good times or bad, in sickness and in health, I will be your faithful husband.”

You Yang said firmly.

“Xue Jingzhi, please repeat after me, word by word: This is my wedding token to you. I will marry you, love you, and protect you. Whether in poverty or wealth, in good times or bad, in sickness and in health, I will be your faithful wife.”

Jingzhi also repeated the vows.

“Please both of you repeat after me: Where you go, I will go. Where you stay, I will stay. Your country will be my country, and your God my God.”

It was as if the ceremony and vows had a purifying and hypnotic effect; after reciting them, Jingzhi’s heart was incredibly peaceful.

"By the authority given to me by the Bible, I hereby declare you husband and wife. What God has joined together, let no one separate." The old pastor finished reciting the last sentence, then smiled at them: "The groom may now kiss the bride."

You Yang hugged Jingzhi tightly and kissed her fiercely, with an irrepressible passion...

Jingzhi was finally his... finally... his love, his heart was at peace...

The perfect ending in fairy tales always concludes with a happy marriage, doesn't it?

--The End Extra

Chapter 1

After the wedding, Jingzhi was instructed to turn her back to everyone and throw her bouquet. She was determined to throw it to Ding Lei, so she deliberately glanced into the crowd before turning around.

Ding Lei smiled, but she shook her head at Jingzhi. Jingzhi

didn't care about any of that. She turned around, closed her eyes, and threw the bouquet to her right rear...

Then, it seemed as if all the sounds in the room suddenly fell silent. Jingzhi turned around, and the bouquet was caught by Aitan, who was standing not far behind her...

Aitan's expression seemed to have become very strange...

"Hehe," Han Cheng shook his head: "This bouquet has the wrong owner."

Aitan frowned, held the bouquet to her chest, and examined it carefully: "Heh, how can you say it's the wrong person? I am indeed single."

"Okay..."

"What's the 'but'?" Aitan's eyes narrowed dangerously: "Don't you believe someone will marry me?"

"I believe!" Han Cheng nodded hastily. Actually, his purpose was to stop her from arguing any further. Well, who would dare to marry Aitan? As unpredictable as a gypsy, who else but him would...

Han Cheng suddenly froze. What was he thinking just now? He... Aitan... Fine beads of sweat suddenly appeared on his forehead. What was wrong with him? Although a mistake years ago resulted in the birth of You Yang, it was Aitan who impersonated You Shiqun back then…

He would always be a substitute.

Han Cheng's gaze fell on Jingzhi, dressed in a snow-white dress, Lan'er… Even in Lan'er's eyes, he was just a friend. He suddenly felt frustrated. He was the most famous pirate in the Bay of Bengal, how could he have fallen to such a miserable state?

You Shiqun, it's all You Shiqun's fault! He frowned as he looked at You Shiqun lying on the hospital bed, and sighed again. This old guy was really seriously ill this time, but he deserved it!

“Mr…Mr. Han,” You Yang's voice suddenly interrupted his thoughts.

“Oh? What is it?”

You Yang's expression was also awkward. He didn't know how to address this man who was actually his biological father: “Let's leave here first. My dad…he has something to say to Jingzhi.”

When everyone left, only Jingzhi and You Shiqun remained in the room.

Jingzhi stood there blankly, staring at You Shiqun, not knowing what to say.

“Jingzhi, my child…” You Shiqun hesitated for a moment, then reached out his hand to Jingzhi.

Jingzhi lifted her skirt and walked step by step to You Shiqun’s hospital bed, gently sitting down on the chair beside the bed.

“Child…” You Shiqun closed his eyes, his face pale, but he forced himself to speak: “You are very beautiful.”

“Thank you, Mr. You… thank you, Dad…” Jingzhi was not used to this address and managed to say it, her cheeks flushing with embarrassment.

“Um… Dad… call me again.” You Shiqun sighed: “Do you know, you—the baby girl I abandoned back then, in my dreams that baby girl calls me Dad, and every time I wake up from a nightmare?”

Jingzhi shook her head, her hand held tightly in You Shiqun’s… She looked down, but dared not meet You Shiqun’s gaze.

“Jingzhi, believe me, I didn’t have anyone throw you into that terrible place back then. I had him send you to an orphanage, and I even gave him a large sum of money to donate to the orphanage… It was that money that ruined you. If it weren’t for that money, maybe you really would have been sent to an orphanage…”

“Dad,” Jingzhi raised her head: “Your health isn’t good, don’t think about that anymore, I…”

“No, I have to tell you.” You Shiqun gripped Jingzhi’s hand tightly. “I have to tell you… I thought, I thought your father was someone else. I wanted to threaten you into sending you to the orphanage, to force your mother to reveal that man’s name…”

His eyes were filled with tears. “I planned to pick you up from the orphanage in a few days. Even if you weren’t my biological child, I never intended to abandon you.

I thought I would give you the status of a daughter, I would force everyone to treat you as my own flesh and blood, just like You Yang did. But that money ruined you. That heartless servant quit his job immediately after sending you away.

When I tried to find you a few days later, I discovered that the orphanage hadn’t registered any baby girls for adoption those two days. You were missing…”

Jingzhi could hear the dejection in his voice, she could feel his hand trembling as he held hers. “Jingzhi, can you forgive your father?”

“Father, it’s all over now,” Jingzhi whispered. “After all, my mother took me in, and I haven’t suffered much these past years.”

"Don't say anymore, my daughter..." You Shiqun's voice trembled. He recalled the first time he saw Jingzhi, clumsily carrying her large pregnant belly—that was how she looked when she was forced to sell herself to save her adoptive mother.

At that time, she was being relentlessly hunted down by Wu Yanya. What had he done? Coldly scheming against a helpless, orphaned girl, she might really have been a hindrance to You Yang's bright future.

Just thinking about this, thinking about all this, made You Shiqun's heart bleed.

“Jingzhi, Jingzhi, my daughter…” He suddenly sat up, pulling Jingzhi into his arms, seemingly from nowhere…

Jingzhi stiffened for a moment, then relaxed. This wasn’t how a man embraced a woman; it was how a father embraced his newlywed daughter…

“Dad…” Jingzhi hesitated before calling out the still somewhat unfamiliar name, “Dad.”

“Forgive me, child, Dad is a bad man.” You Shiqun seemed drunk, muttering incoherently, “Damn it, I even thought…” He didn’t finish his sentence, but Jingzhi could hear something in his remorseful tone.

Jingzhi recalled You Shiqun's attitude towards her when she first returned to China. At that time, he seemed to see her more as an expensive but certain prey...

Clearly, her sudden realization and trembling reminded You Shiqun. He slowly released her, his voice hoarse and full of self-mockery:

"In the Buddhist legend of reincarnation, there is a saying—a daughter is her father's lover from a past life.

Because of past missed opportunities, after countless reincarnations, experiencing heaven and hell, this girl is reborn as his daughter in this life. Therefore, a father will reserve all his love for his daughter. His daughter is the softest spot in his heart, the woman he most wants to protect.

Perhaps, subconsciously, I already knew you were my daughter, which is why I kept making things difficult for You Yang, even provoking his anger... Sigh, am I the worst father in the world?"

"Dad, please stop talking," Jingzhi sobbed, shaking her head.

"Oh, your makeup's all ruined from crying..." You Shiqun smiled as he wiped the tears from her cheeks. "I've always raised You Yang as my own son. After you marry him, you'll be both my daughter and my daughter-in-law, and he'll be both my son and my son-in-law. Live a good life, don't end up like me... letting anger and misunderstandings ruin your life."

"No, it won't happen..." Jingzhi sobbed. "Dad, why are you saying this? I think Senior Sister Ding Lei is perfect for you."

"Ding Lei... she's a good woman..." You Shiqun was momentarily lost in thought. "However, she told me long ago that she's not right for me, and I'm not good enough for her. She deserves a better man to love her, and I... I can't give her love anymore. Besides... since your mother died, I've already given up on the idea of remarrying."

"But..."

“Good child, don’t say any more,” You Shiqun smiled weakly, “Good people don’t live long, but evil people live a thousand years. Dad will live on. I still want to watch the squid grow up, get married,

and have children. Believe me, I won’t give up on life.” Although You Shiqun’s expression was weak, his eyes radiated an inextinguishable vitality. He held Jingzhi’s hand tightly and kissed it, “Alright, go find You Yang. You’ve already booked your honeymoon plane tickets. You’ll be late if you’re any later.”

Jingzhi nodded. She watched as You Shiqun loosened his grip on her fingers one by one. His deep eyes were filled with a deep love—a father’s love that transcended romantic love…

II. Wedding Night

“Here’s your room key!”

The receptionist smiled slightly at Jingzhi. Jingzhi thanked her, wondering a little nervously if the receptionist would guess what they were doing at this resort.

"Congratulations on your marriage," the waiter smiled again, "It's peak wedding season now."

Five years. Five years ago, she came here alone, nervously carrying her small bag. Now…

She turned around and saw You Yang standing in the middle of the lobby, talking to a manager-looking man.

Jingzhi swallowed a groan. Why would You Yang choose this resort again?

This was the resort where they first met five years ago, located in a 3A-level national scenic area. The scenery was undeniable, and it was relatively secluded, a perfect place for rendezvous and vacation.

But for their honeymoon?

Jingzhi gritted her teeth. You Yang booked this place? She was going to have a serious talk with him later.

What did he mean by choosing this place for their honeymoon?

"Jingzhi!" You Yang called out to her from afar, "Waitress, please take you to your room first. I'll go check the dinner arrangements."

"Sigh…"

Jingzhi watched the waitress place her luggage in the lobby of the cabin, and her mood suddenly turned melancholy. She looked out the window at the cabin's courtyard, where the swing set covered in vines still stood.

Everything was just like it was five years ago—the fireplace, the sofa, the cushions carelessly tossed on the wooden floor—everything… just like it was five years ago, no… yet different.

“Jingzhi…” You Yang’s voice arrived before he did: “Where are you?”

“I…I’m here.” Jingzhi’s voice came from inside the bedroom: “Wait a minute, I’m packing.”

You Yang smiled and pushed open the bedroom door: “Okay…Jingzhi…”

He was suddenly surprised to find Jingzhi sitting on the edge of the bed, wiping away tears.

“What’s wrong?” You Yang rushed to the bedside and took her hand: “What…”

“What else can I do?” Jingzhi retorted defiantly. “What do you mean by bringing me here? Could it be… could it be…”

“No, why would you think that?” You Yang smiled bitterly. “I didn’t tell you beforehand, but this is where we first met.”

Jingzhi turned her back to him, trying to hide her confusion and hurt. “Do those nights five years ago matter to you that much?”

You Yang placed his hand on her shoulder, gently but firmly pulling her into his arms. “You know it’s not like that. I just want… to get to know you again… Jingzhi, this time I will do everything right. I want to make up for the regrets of our first time.”

Jingzhi froze, her body trembling as she felt his warm breath. She could feel him slowly pulling her into his arms, her strong, muscular body pressing against her softness.

“Jingzhi,” he continued, “this is our honeymoon, but actually, five years ago… we…”

He pulled her into his arms and kissed her with burning lips, the resolute tenderness extinguishing Jingzhi’s last shred of resistance.

"Jingzhi, would you do something for me?" He stopped, panting, after a passionate kiss, and murmured hoarsely.

Do something?

Jingzhi looked up at his firm and alluring lips, then up at the long eyelashes on his half-closed eyelids. In an instant, all her defenses and fears vanished.

He loved her, so what did she have to fear?

"Yes, I'm willing..." she whispered.

"Say you love me..."

He cupped her face in his hands. Night was falling, and the wooden house slowly sank into darkness... darkness...

Jingzhi opened her mouth, but no sound came out. This darkness, this terrifying darkness, suddenly made her feel extremely uncomfortable. She remembered that night five years ago, she remembered those wild nights, she remembered how her lower abdomen was wracked with pain, but he had entered her body again and again like a demon.

Oh God, that terrible feeling was back. She tried to struggle, but suddenly couldn't find her voice. She couldn't forget... couldn't forget that humiliating pain...

You Yang's embrace slowly stiffened: "Jingzhi..." he called tentatively, "What's wrong?"

"No..." she cried hysterically, but dared not speak her feelings. She didn't want You Yang to know how terrible the memories she had of this place were back then. She hugged his body tightly: "No, don't make me say it now... please..."

You Yang froze, stiffening on the spot. He remembered the surprise on Jingzhi's face when she saw Patrick, he remembered the missing hymen when he entered Jingzhi five years ago...

His heart suddenly clenched painfully. He loved Jingzhi, loved her almost to the point of madness, but why, why was he now so obsessed with hearing her say that she loved him too?

Was he going crazy?

You Yang looked down at the contours of her face. This time, the curtains weren't drawn in the cabin, and he could see the torrent of tears streaming down her cheeks…

He raised his fingers and wiped away her tears, hating himself for being blinded by a sudden surge of jealousy.

…He wanted to kill every man who had touched her…all of them, all the men who had brought her pain or passion, including himself!

Jingzhi sobbed, holding him tightly. She didn't want him to know the pain; she only wanted to remember the beautiful memories. But why?

“You Yang,” she pleaded softly, “turn on the light, I’m afraid of the dark.”

“Don’t say anything else, nothing about darkness…don’t make excuses!” His tone suddenly turned stern. He grabbed her shoulders: “Tell me you love me, just tell me…”

The pain in his voice pierced Jingzhi’s hazy consciousness. She reached out in surprise, trying to smooth his furrowed brows: “What did you say?”

“Say you love me.” He buried his head in her shoulder, his voice filled with pain: “No, while we’re still in the dark, tell me…”

“Tell you what?” Jingzhi asked quietly.

“How many…”

“How many?”

“How many men…” He slowly uttered these words: “Before me, or after me…”

“You…” Jingzhi froze. She slowly raised her hand, covering her mouth, stifling a gasp of surprise and a sob-like groan. What was You Yang thinking?

“What are you saying?” Jingzhi asked again, dumbfounded.

"You know what I'm asking!" You Yang roared. Why did he care so much? "I just want to know who else, besides Patrick, is here? Who else?"

He breathed heavily, lowering his head to capture her lips. His tongue possessively invaded, swallowing her gasps and gasps. "Here," he said, placing her hand on his chest.

"And here," he guided her hand downwards, "it all hurts. Just thinking that someone else has touched you besides me makes me..."

His throat tightened. He pressed her down, his breath ragged and labored. "My whole body aches. I... I don't care if you make me hurt even more. Tell me, so I don't have to keep overthinking."

You Yang... he was... jealous...

Jingzhi, as if struck by a sudden realization, opened her eyes abruptly. In the darkness, she could see the expression on his face distorted by passion and other inexplicable reasons.

"You Yang..." she asked tentatively, "Do you really want to know? You promise you won't be angry after you find out?"

"I promise, I promise..." You Yang also doubted whether his promise would be effective.

"Can you guarantee that because of what I said, you won't use it against me in the future..." Jingzhi clenched her fists. She really wanted to test how deep Youyang's love for her was: "Will you use this to hurt me in the future?"

"I won't..." Youyang hesitated...

"Are you sure?" Jingzhi asked cautiously: "If you're not sure, then I'd better not say anything."

"No, you must tell me!" Youyang almost stubbornly held her cheek: "Tell me, I just need to know."

"Why do you need to know? Wouldn't it be better if you didn't know?"

"I need to know..."

Jingzhi sighed: "There's no Patrick, no Patrick's friends."

"Then what is it..."

"There's only one," Jingzhi whispered: "He took my virginity, and I don't even know him."

Youyang listened blankly: "Then did he force you?"

"No, he didn't force me."

"Okay, I understand." You Yang's tone became flat. "Thank you for telling me."

Jingzhi was happy to feel his stiffness. For a moment, her heart clenched. She really wanted to just let it go. You Yang, that blockhead, she had made it so clear—he took my virginity, and I don't even know him. Wasn't she referring to You Yang himself?

Damn You Yang, he was pressing down on her so uncomfortably. Jingzhi writhed beneath him. "Okay, let me go now."

"You..." You Yang suddenly asked again, "Do you hate him?"

"No, I don't hate him," Jingzhi answered honestly, "I love him."

These three words struck You Yang like a hammer blow to the chest: "You love him?" His voice shattered.

"Mmm..." Jingzhi was about to laugh. You Yang really loved her; she was certain of it now. But, to punish his belated realization, she teased him a little longer.

"Then why did you love him and agree to marry me?" Her tone had clearly turned sour.

"Because you kept begging me to marry you," Jingzhi almost burst out laughing.

"Fine," You Yang released her, turned his head away in a huff, and turned his back.

"What's wrong?" Jingzhi nudged his shoulder: "Are you angry? Don't you want to know who he is?"

"Fine, I'm not interested." You Yang's voice was muffled: "I'm sleepy."

"Really don't want to know his name?" Jingzhi breathed into his ear: "I'll tell you anyway."

"No, I don't want to hear it!" He sat up abruptly, childishly covering his ears.

“Listen up!” Jingzhi shouted in his ear, “His name is You Yang. Back then, he was a reckless young man who didn’t know how to cherish women at all. He only knew…”

“What did you say?” Had he heard correctly? You Yang suddenly turned around and grabbed Jingzhi’s shoulders. “Say it again?”

Jingzhi looked quietly into the depths of his eyes. “There are many things I will only say once: I love you!”

“Jingzhi…” You Yang hugged her tightly, so tightly that there was no space between them. “Is what you said true? No, no! I’m so damned, I… I actually knew a long time ago… You were very uncomfortable that night, I…”

“I don’t have that hymen…” Jingzhi asked softly, “Aren’t you surprised? Don’t you doubt it? You would believe my words instead of what you see and feel?”

“I believe your words more than what I see.” You Yang said softly, “Is that hymen really that important? Wu Yanya does have one…”

“It’s Wu Yanya again…” Jingzhi sighed.

“Jingzhi,” You Yang said softly, “Forgive me, I still have the worst side of a man. I was blinded by so many illusions.”
“The surrogate mother can’t be a virgin,” Jingzhi sniffed, “I had that hymen removed at the hospital.”

“Jingzhi…” You Yang trembled as he hugged her tightly, “Forgive me, forgive me for hurting you…”

“Okay,” she smiled faintly, “Then I’ll punish you by making you let me do whatever I want in bed for three days, and then we’ll be even.”

“Okay,” he rolled over and pinned her down, “Let’s start from tomorrow, tonight doesn’t count…”

Part Three, The First

Night Jingzhi didn’t know when the first morning after their wedding night arrived, but when You Yang kissed her awake, it was just dawn.

"Get up! You sleepyhead!" You Yang gently called in her ear. When Jingzhi woke up, her body stiffened. Darkness... Her mind went blank for a moment before she remembered where she was. She rolled over and pushed You Yang's heavy body to the side:

"So early? I'm not awake yet..."

"Don't sleep!" You Yang chuckled: "Get up."

"No..." Jingzhi sighed: "Why so early?"

"Because... we're going to take a bath." You Yang smiled mischievously.

"What? A bath?" Jingzhi repeated in confusion, and then the next moment she was picked up by You Yang.

"Yes, a bath... This bathroom here is quite nice."

The ambiguous tone, and the unmistakable desire... Jingzhi suddenly opened her eyes...

You Yang had already pushed open the bathroom door. It was still that huge bathtub that looked like a small pool. Outside the floor-to-ceiling windows that covered the entire wall, there was a lush green valley.

"Oh..." Jingzhi let him carry her into the warm pool. "This...it's strange..." She shifted uncomfortably in his arms. "I...I'm not used to taking baths."

"Hmm, you'll get used to it." You Yang smiled. The slight weightlessness of the pool allowed him to gently lift her body. He adjusted the angle to a better position, held her tighter, rested his chin on the top of her head, and gently massaged her aching muscles.

Jingzhi was still drowsy. "You Yang, it feels so good...ah..." she breathed softly. So...there was a reason behind You Yang's seemingly considerate actions. He wasn't gentle, but he entered her with unwavering determination.

"This position is so strange," Jingzhi bit her lower lip, her fingers digging into his shoulders and back, moaning softly, "You...you've been planning this for a long time, haven't you?"

"Yeah, ever since I carried you here to bathe you, I've been thinking about it..."

"What...when did that happen?" Jingzhi froze, forgetting to struggle. You Yang took the opportunity to penetrate even deeper, his gaze deepening with an uncontrollable desire: "Remember the first night...you passed out, and I carried you here to wash you..."

"Oh..." She sniffed, pouting, "You're so bold, didn't you even think to check if I was still alive? Aren't you afraid of carrying a corpse you killed?" "

Hehe..." You Yang let out a pleasant laugh from his chest, his tone filled with inexplicable tenderness: "Back then, I was such a heartless jerk, wasn't I?"

"It's all in the past..." Jingzhi gently nuzzled him with her nose: "Hey, didn't we agree that I'd punish you by letting you do whatever you want in bed for the next three days? How come you beat me to it again?"

“I promised in bed, but we’re not in bed now.” You Yang chuckled, then grasped her small fist and said seriously, “Don’t be silly. There’s a reason we came here so early.”

“What reason?” Jingzhi asked, confused.

“Sunrise!”

“Huh?” Before You Yang could finish speaking, Jingzhi turned around, and in that instant, a red sun rose above the still-white eastern sky, its rays instantly illuminating them…

Jingzhi’s eyes widened in surprise as she gazed at the myriad rays of light, which enveloped their intertwined bodies, gilding everything with a golden edge. Their eyes met, then their lips…

love… in the myriad rays of light…

“It doesn’t count, this time doesn’t count.” Jingzhi murmured, “You’re punished by having to watch the sunrise with me every day.”

“I’d rather have something more substantial.” You Yang’s tone was full of implications, “The sunrise isn’t enough for you, is it?”

“Is there something else?” Jingzhi blushed and stepped back.

“There are too many things.” You Yang looked down.

Jingzhi broke free from him and swam to the other side of the pool: "For example?"

"For example, hunger..." You Yang continued to tease her with a double meaning: "Feeding her husband is a wife's duty." "

I don't think so!" Jingzhi splashed water at him: "Why don't you say feeding your wife is a husband's duty?"

"Wow, what did I just hear? Is this someone complaining about unsatisfied desire? Wait, don't run away..."

"Haha, only you, the person involved, know the answer." Jingzhi hurriedly climbed out of the pool on the other side, and fled the bathroom barefoot. With a bang, the door was closed, followed by the sound of a lock and key turning.

"Jingzhi!" You Yang tugged at the door. It was locked? "Jingzhi, what are you doing?"

"Let you calm down!" Jingzhi's voice outside the door was muffled: "Reflect on your actions!"

"Open the door!" You Yang knocked on the door: "If you don't open the door, I'm going to jump off a cliff!"

"I won't open it!" Jingzhi's voice faintly came in: "I'm going to eat. You reflect on your actions."

"Open the door or I'll give you a piece of my mind!"

"Don't be afraid, don't be afraid, I'm not afraid of you..."

"Jingzhi," her tone suddenly turned serious, "Open the door!"

"No!" Jingzhi giggled. She had never played such a chase game with Youyang before; it was fun.

But there was no response from inside the bathroom.

Jingzhi waited a few minutes and tried knocking: "Youyang?"

...

Jingzhi was getting anxious: "Youyang?"

...Still no sound. She hurriedly used her key to open the door, but the bathroom was empty. The huge bathtub was calm and still, and the window was open...!

"Youyang?" She panicked noticeably and rushed towards the wide-open French window. Suddenly, the water in the bathtub moved, and before Jingzhi could react, Youyang, who had been hiding in the water, leaped out.

"Oh..." With a loud splash, both of them fell into the water.

The resort's front desk received a call from a cabin owner saying that dinner would still be delivered to the room.

IV. The Second Night

On the second night, Jingzhi refused to have dinner with Youyang in the cabin, no matter what.

"Please, let's eat out." Jingzhi placed her hand on Youyang's chest and smiled. "If we don't show up, those people who pass by our cabin every day and see the 'Do Not Disturb' sign on the door might laugh at us."

"Laugh at what?" Youyang grabbed her wrist and breathed into her ear. "We're on our honeymoon. Do you understand what a honeymoon means? It means... not getting out of bed for a month..."

He flipped over and pinned Jingzhi down, his eyes gleaming with a playful light. "How about it? What do you think of this suggestion?"

"Ugh, ugh, I give up..."

Panting, Jingzhi struggled to get out from under him. Youyang reached out and gently touched her lips. Then his lips twitched. Although they had only been married a short time, they had been together for over a month before, but even now, Jingzhi still felt shy in his presence.

He smiled; it would be a lie to say he wasn't happy. He thought of the passion they had shared, and the truth he had just learned…

He was Jingzhi's only man. This was like an unexpected gift. He shook his head. Was he really that traditional?

So what if Jingzhi had other men over the years? He didn't care; he only cared that she loved him.

But he knew that Jingzhi's chastity over the years was a great gift he had unexpectedly received, one he couldn't take lightly.

Five years ago, there was only desire between them, or rather, nothing but the physical, perhaps even pity?

But now, after everything, he knew he loved Jingzhi.

He watched casually as Jingzhi broke free of his embrace, gracefully reaching for her robe by the bedside, as if their passionate love had never happened.

He twitched his lips and smiled, asking, "You really don't want to have dinner with me on the living room carpet? Last night, I remember when I smeared cream on your lower abdomen, and when I entered you, were your moans a form of protest?"

"Ah..." Jingzhi blushed, giving him a coquettish glare, "You're so annoying." "

And," You Yang chuckled mischievously, "I remember who woke me up in the middle of the night yesterday? It seems I was the one being taken advantage of, wasn't I?"

Jingzhi trembled slightly as he gently bit her fingertip, "You Yang..." she groaned softly, half hesitant, half surrendering, "Don't do this."

"Don't what?" You Yang's voice was almost inaudible, "Have you forgotten how you attacked me? Today... I want them to send another cream cake for dinner."

Jingzhi pushed him away in a flustered manner, her face as red as an apple, "I'm so thirsty, I want to drink water..." She hurriedly got up and put on her nightgown, "Do you drink beer? There's some in the fridge..."

Beer...

You Yang smiled slightly. "Thank you, no need, I just finished a can."

Jingzhi didn't know about the beer from five years ago. You Yang sat up, leaning against the cushion, watching Jingzhi open the refrigerator and search for her mineral water among a pile of drinks. He suddenly smiled: "If you have German beer, give me a can."

"German beer?" Jingzhi murmured, "I don't think so, I'll go to the supermarket to buy some later."

You Yang quietly gazed at her slender waist, firm and slightly upturned buttocks, and two long legs exposed outside the dress, outlined by her thin nightgown. Slowly, desire dominated his senses.

For the past five years, every time he dreamed of her in the middle of the night, it was Jingzhi's pregnant and cumbersome body, but he couldn't suppress his desire for her. He had once ruthlessly assumed that once he found her again and possessed her, he would no longer feel that intoxicating feeling.

But unexpectedly, upon meeting again, he couldn't get enough of her. What's more, he wanted her to be his alone, even if... even if it meant binding her with a child!

Now, they were married as he had wished… Only at this moment did he realize that his desire for her wasn't just lust, but overflowing with love.

Jingzhi could feel his gaze. She took a sip of her carbonated mineral water with a slightly hurried air, turned her head, and found his gaze still lingering on her body, his eyes flashing with a lazy teasing.

“Jingzhi… come here, I want to drink the water in your bottle…” Although he said water, his gaze was fixed on her chest.

Jingzhi felt her legs go weak; she was powerless against his gaze, and her voice became hoarse. “No, don’t do this.”

“Be good…”

As if hypnotized, Jingzhi slowly walked towards him, her eyes locked on him…

Seduction successful! Who says a handsome man's charm won't work?

After their lovemaking, Jingzhi fell into a deep sleep, and You Yang released her and slipped out of bed. He lit a cigarette—one of the few bad habits he had developed over the past five years—and walked naked to the window to look outside.

In the distance, the sun slowly set, its golden rays streaming into the room, bathing everything in a mesmerizing golden glow…

He leaned against the window, slowly exhaling a puff of smoke, a calm smile playing on his lips. Now, he finally understood what love was.

But… he clenched his fists. He knew he was still despicable; he had done so many things to hurt Jingzhi. Could this happiness truly heal the wounds in her heart? He still remembered her trembling sobs…

Jingzhi lay motionless, secretly watching Youyang through her half-closed eyelids. Seeing his troubled and melancholic profile, her heart sank.

Sadness slowly filled her heart. Youyang's perfectly masculine body leaned against the window; though his expression was relaxed, his stiff shoulders and serious features betrayed the inner turmoil he was struggling with.

Desire and love—how long could their desire sustain this love?

Now You Yang loves her, but back then, he loved Wu Yanya; otherwise, he wouldn't have obeyed her every word to meet her.

And this honeymoon, they chose this place again… Jingzhi hesitated, looking at You Yang. Had he thought of Wu Yanya again?

“Awake?” You Yang suddenly felt Jingzhi's gaze, stubbed out his cigarette, turned to look at her, the melancholy in his eyes slowly fading. “Tonight, let's go to a restaurant for dinner.”

“Okay!” Jingzhi nodded. She would agree to go wherever You Yang took her, because… she loved him.

This resort is quite large, with many bungalows and a tastefully decorated restaurant with a superb atmosphere. Despite its secluded location, the restaurant boasts a first-class ambiance and attracts numerous guests every day, making it always full; reservations are essential.

You Yang seemed to have booked well in advance, as the waiter led them to a window seat at the back of the restaurant as soon as they arrived. The seat was partially obscured by two potted tropical plants, offering a good view while remaining quite secluded…

“What would you like to eat?” You Yang opened the menu, and Jingzhi gazed at his perfect profile: “Anything.”

“Oh? Anything?” You Yang turned to ask the waiter.

“We have stir-fried dishes.” The young waiter’s admiring gaze lingered on Jingzhi for a moment before politely suggesting they look at the chef’s recommendations on the first page of the menu.

You Yang skillfully ordered, also choosing a bottle of red wine, planted a kiss on Jingzhi’s cheek, and then went to the restroom.

The restaurant was dimly lit. Jingzhi rested her chin on her hand, quietly observing the diners. Most of the customers were couples or spouses; each table was sparsely populated, with small groups eating quietly. There was none of the hustle and bustle of a large city restaurant.

Her gaze swept around the restaurant, suddenly stopping on two people who had just entered.

It was a man and a woman. The man was tall and handsome, but his face was thin, and he seemed to have a hint of gloom in his expression. And… that woman… Jingzhi was almost stunned. That tall, beautiful figure, and that cold, beautiful face—it was Wu Yanya?!

Good heavens, how could this be?

Encountering Wu Yanya here again, Jingzhi felt as if she had instantly become the helpless little girl she was five years ago. This was a nightmare. Why was Wu Yanya here?

Her palms were sweaty, and Jingzhi nervously shrank back in her chair. Fortunately, Wu Yanya and her companion were seated near the door, with their backs to them. Jingzhi nervously looked around again and again, afraid that Wu Yanya would turn around and see her.

"What are you looking at?" You Yang asked her curiously when he returned.

"Nothing..." Jingzhi stammered. She didn't know how You Yang would react if he knew Wu Yanya was here. To be precise, she didn't want to know. She just wanted to ignore that woman like an ostrich.

Soon, all the dishes were served. You Yang smiled and pushed the stir-fried dish in front of her: "Here, your dish."

Jingzhi picked up a large mouthful, then watched as You Yang poured her a little bit of blood-red wine: "Why don't you drink your favorite German beer?"

"Pfft..." You Yang almost spat out the wine: "Please, don't tease me..."

"What's wrong?" Jingzhi asked curiously.

"I'll tell you when we get back," You Yang smiled and picked up an oyster for her: "Eat this."

It was an oyster arranged in a circle on a plate of crushed ice, with some lemon slices, and the plate was decorated with a lot of beetroot shreds. The oyster was sprinkled with a thick layer of mustard-like sauce.

Jingzhi slowly tasted it. It was delicious. She looked up and saw You Yang smiling at her again.

"What's wrong?"

"I got something on my chin." You Yang wiped away the small clump of mustard with his finger and sucked on it.

Jingzhi paused for a moment, then continued eating.

You Yang said softly, "Most of today's food is Western. There's a specific order to serving Western dishes."

Jingzhi didn't know what he meant. As the waiter brought the food, You Yang whispered in her ear,

"The order in which Westerners eat is like the steps of making love. The preparation of the sauce is like the varied foreplay; the appetizer is like the beginning of the caressing stage, gently stroking and licking; the soup is the warming stage; the appetizer is like the pleasure of erotic games, eating one leaf at a time, like a series of kisses; the main course is the perfect stage of lust; and dessert is the happy ending."

With each sentence he finished, a dish was served as if to match his explanation, until the final dessert...

Jingzhi blushed with amusement at his explanation. This bad guy, how did he bring up the bedroom again from the dining table?

Seeing her blush, You Yang chuckled and planted a kiss on her cheek: "Eat up, then we'll go home. Did you know oysters can arouse desire?"

"Cheng Jian! You beast!" A heart-wrenching scream from a woman pierced the quiet atmosphere of the restaurant, followed by a loud slap.

Everyone turned in surprise to look at the source of the sound. You Yang froze… that sound… He slowly turned back and saw a woman being slapped hard by the man at her table, sending her flying and knocking over several tables.

To be precise, the woman was half-fallen, half-sitting behind his chair…

You Yang stood up, and the man who had hit him strode over, yelling at the woman on the ground, “Don’t come to a place like this to cause trouble! Who do you think you are? You’ve slept with me a few times, and now you think you’re something?”

When he saw the woman struggling to get up, You Yang’s face turned deathly pale…

Jingzhi silently watched Wu Yanya stand up from the ground. Her perfectly made-up face showed the marks of time up close. There was a deep frown between her brows, and even heavy makeup couldn’t hide the crow’s feet at the corners of her eyes. A trickle of blood was slowly flowing from the corner of her mouth…

Then, Wu Yanya’s gaze met You Yang’s, and then she saw Jingzhi standing behind You Yang.

Time seemed to freeze at that moment. Jingzhi's gaze suddenly flashed with shock, hesitation, grievance, fear, regret, and hatred...

The last look of hatred was directed at Jingzhi. She saw You Yang involuntarily holding Jingzhi's hand. Her eyebrows furrowed, as if time had suddenly turned back five years: "Let go, let go, you little bitch!"

She seemed to have gone mad, rushing forward like a shrew to scratch Jingzhi's face.

"What are you doing?" You Yang reached out to stop her. "You dare touch her and see what happens?"

"You...you actually..." Wu Yanya's voice was hoarse. "You actually don't want me, but you want this little bitch?"

"Please have some self-respect!" You Yang's voice was low. "Jingzhi is hundreds of times more noble than you."

"Heh, heh..." Wu Yanya suddenly stepped back, laughing bitterly like a madwoman. "What's wrong with me? I'm really crazy. Back then, it was actually me..."

"Do you think you were able to get medical parole from prison?" You Yang's voice was still very cold. "It's because I felt that if it weren't for you, I wouldn't have met Jingzhi. That's why I told Uncle Tie not to pursue you anymore. Listen to me, stay away from us."

"Haha...So, I did a good deed after all?" Wu Yanya turned around with a bitter laugh and walked step by step to the man who had just hit her. "Did you hear that? I did a good deed after all."

"I don't have time for you, you crazy woman." The man named Cheng Jian narrowed his eyes. "If you want to come back with me, hurry up, or I'll leave you here and see how you get back to the city."

"Going back to the city for what?" Wu Yanya hissed. "To warm the beds of your buddies? Damn it, I hate those perverts."

"How could that be? You were moaning so enthusiastically back then!" Cheng Jian grabbed her hair, his face contorted. "I'll only say this once, come or don't."

He turned and left. Wu Yanya stood there, stunned, then turned back, looking at You Yang with a pitiful expression. "You'll help me, right? He dumped me here, and I don't have any money on me... Will you take me home?"

Jingzhi's heart skipped a beat. She squeezed You Yang's hand back. Would he... help her?

"No!" You Yang's answer was crisp. He simply took a hundred-yuan bill from his pocket: "Take this to a taxi!"

Then he turned and pulled Jingzhi away from the restaurant.
