I had planned to write this piece about old times last Friday, but alas, things didn't go as planned. I kept getting busy and put it off until today. On May Day, before 5 a.m., I had a quick breakfast and dinner and arrived at the hotel. It was so early, so I spent my time in the lobby scrolling through my phone, browsing Weibo and posting on WeChat Moments—all congratulatory messages for my cousin's wedding.
A little after 5 p.m., my phone vibrated. I saw a private message—congratulatory for my cousin's wedding!
