As dusk fell, a red Honda Accord pulled into the garage. I heard the garage door close just as I finished stir-frying the last of my vegetables. My husband has been coming home earlier lately; the economy is bad, factory orders are fewer, and social engagements have decreased. That's good, though, since we're not short of money. Before, when the factory was busy, we might only eat out once a month. Now he's a model husband.

"Dinner's ready," I said as I walked into the living room, just as my husband came in.

"Great! Are Xiaofen and Xiaoping back?" he asked wearily.

"Yes, they're in their room. Go change and call them down for dinner." I poured him a glass of iced tea.

"Okay!" My husband finished his tea and went upstairs. I took the opportunity to sit in the living room and rest for a bit. It's really hard work to keep such a big house in order. Fortunately, Xiaofen and Xiaoping are quite well-behaved. They've tidied up the third floor themselves and occasionally help with housework.
