Just as we were immersed in this joy, a phone call brought me back to reality. It was Qin Yan calling; she must have been worried because no one was home. I answered the phone standing next to Yingying; the arcade was noisy. I practically shouted at Qin Yan as I spoke.
"Where are you? Why are you so angry? Is Yingying with you?" Qin Yan asked me anxiously.
"Yingying is with me, she's fine. I'm taking her to the arcade. We'll be back in a bit." I quickly told Qin Yan to ease her worry.
"Why did you go off to play there? Come back soon," Qin Yan complained.
"Okay. We'll head back now." I agreed and hung up. It was too late to hear clearly anyway, I'd better talk to him when I get home.
"Yingying, how many coins do you have left? Your mom called and is urging us to pay." I shouted in Yingying's ear.
"Oh... there aren't many left." Yingying was riding her motorcycle, her body swaying back and forth with the movement. It seemed she didn't care about her mother scolding her anymore.
Finally, she got off the motorcycle. "Yingying, let's go back. Your mom is worried sick," I said, pulling her along.
"Oh dear, my mom's back. Let's hurry up and go." Yingying pulled me outside.
"Put your clothes on properly so you don't get cold," I quickly told her. Yingying was covered in sweat from playing, her clothes were undone, and her face was covered in beads of sweat. Her face was probably flushed from the heat, and even the hair on her forehead was wet.
"This is so much fun! No wonder they all love coming here. Oh dear... I still have a few coins here." Yingying was still immersed in excitement.
"Don't catch a cold, you're all sweaty from playing," I said with concern.
"It's okay, today is the happiest day of my life," Yingying said, beaming.
"If you want to play next time, just ask me, and I'll bring you. Don't come by yourself," I said with a smile.
"Don't try to fool me! I really will come looking for you then!" Yingying said happily.

"Where have you been? You're all sweaty." Qin Yan complained as soon as she entered the room and saw Yingying's appearance.
"It's okay, Mom. Uncle Ding is with me, isn't he? Mom, is there any water? I'm so thirsty." Yingying said, running to the living room, grabbing a glass of water, and drinking it.
"Slow down, don't choke," Qin Yan said with concern.
"I'm going to take a shower, I'm all sweaty. I feel terrible, you guys chat." Yingying said and went back to her room.
"This child looks like a crazy girl," Qin Yan said to me.
"Kids all love to play. It's fine for them to play a bit during their holidays," I said with a smile. We sat down together on the sofa.
"Sister Qin, have you eaten?" I asked her.
"I ate. It was the first day back at work, so they had a company dinner. I got back early, but everyone else went to some karaoke bar. Xiao Fei drank quite a bit today. That girl is so funny; she went to karaoke with someone, all tipsy. I told her not to go, but she insisted." Qin Yan said while pouring water. When I heard that Luo Fei had gone to karaoke drunk, a pang of jealousy hit me.
"She's just funny," I said awkwardly. I felt terrible inside.
"Mom, I've taken a shower," Yingying said to Qin Yan as she came out wearing a bathrobe.
"Check if the water's hot." Qin Yan hurriedly followed Yingying in and out to help. I quickly turned off my phone, afraid that Luo Fei might call again after drinking too much. That would be terrible for me.
"Xiao Ding, shall we have a chat now?" Qin Yan said, sitting across from me.
"Okay." I've wanted to talk to her for a long time.

But I don't want to make our relationship public. One day, when you find someone who truly loves you, I will leave you." Qin Yan's tears streamed down her face.
"No, how could I let you suffer such a great injustice? I won't look for anyone else. You are the only one for me in this life." I was moved by this woman. She had made such a sacrifice for me.
“Listen to me, Xiao Ding, this is the best way. I’m doing this not only for you but also for Yingying. I don’t want Yingying to be laughed at by others, you know? I didn’t want to have anything to do with you anymore, but I can’t forget you.” Qin Yan cried as she spoke. I felt a sadness I had never felt before.
"Sister Qin..." My tears also flowed. We were speechless.
Qin Yan has practically abandoned all self-respect, willingly becoming a mistress. Where can you find a woman like that? So understanding, yet I still feel like I'm committing a crime. How could I treat Qin Yan like this?
"What's wrong with you?" Yingying stood in the living room, looking confused.
"It's alright, children shouldn't concern themselves with adults. Go back to your room and rest," Qin Yan said, wiping away her tears. Yingying obediently went into her room.
"Xiao Ding, this is the result of my consideration. If you don't agree, then we'll have to stop seeing each other." Qin Yan calmed herself down and said seriously.
"I..." I didn't know what to say. I didn't want to wrong her, but I didn't want to lose her even more.
"Xiao Ding, I know you don't want me to suffer, but I also know I can't face the ridicule of the crowd. Let's do as I say for now. We'll see how things go later, okay?" Qin Yan said, finally softening her tone when she saw my troubled expression. That's the only way; we'll see later. I figured I'd have a chance to persuade her eventually.
We sat quietly on the sofa, neither of us speaking. Time slowly marched on, and it was already midnight.
"Why don't you stay here tonight? It's alright, Yingying already knows everything, she won't object." Qin Yan said to me at the end, her face looking very tired.
"I..." I didn't know whether I should stay. This was the sentence I most wanted to hear.
"Stay?" Qin Yan stood up and took my hand. Her eyes were full of tenderness.
We went inside together, and in the dim light, we helped each other tie our clothes. Everything happened in silence. She was so gentle, like a virtuous wife serving her husband.
I lay in bed, holding her tightly, my heart overflowing with love. I didn't know how to express it, so I simply transformed my deepest affection into a tight embrace. She nestled in my arms, lying quietly like a kitten. It was a peaceful night, and neither of us wanted to break the tranquility. We simply held each other quietly until we drifted off to sleep. But our hearts were filled with boundless love for each other.
