Section 1 Yin and Yang and the Five

Elements The Yellow Emperor asked Su Nu, “My Qi is weak and disharmonious, my heart is unhappy, and I am constantly fearful of danger. What should I do?”

Su Nu replied, “The reason why people become weak is because they have harmed the way of Yin and Yang interaction. A woman’s strength over a man is like water overcoming fire. Understanding and practicing this is like a cauldron harmonizing the five flavors to make a soup. Understanding the way of Yin and Yang brings all five joys. Those who do not understand it will die young. How can they find joy? One must be careful!”

The Yellow Emperor asked Su Nu, "My strength is waning, my pulse is disordered, and I am constantly worried, feeling that danger is imminent and I cannot escape calamity. What is the cause of this?" Su Nu replied, "This phenomenon is the result of an imbalance of Yin and Yang, and improper sexual activity. When a woman's energy surpasses that of a man, it's like extinguishing a fire, leaving the man unable to withstand it. Sexual activity between men and women is like cooking food; water and fire must work together to create delicious and hot dishes. Understanding the principle of the harmony of water and fire allows one to fully enjoy human pleasures. Otherwise, one will ruin oneself and lose one's life; what pleasure is there then? How can one not be cautious in sexual activity?"

The Yellow Emperor was one of the Three Sovereigns and Five Emperors in history. The Three Sovereigns actually refer to Fuxi, Shennong, and the Yellow Emperor. Records state that Fuxi invented the Eight Trigrams, thoroughly studied the principles of Yin and Yang, created the concepts of heaven and earth, sun and moon, and men and women, and established the grand rites of marriage.

The art of sexual intercourse states: "Heaven turns to the left, earth to the right; the man must turn to the left like the heavens, and the woman to the right. The man thrusts downwards, and the woman responds upwards." This indicates the basic positions for marital intercourse. The Yellow Emperor was the leader of several large tribes in the Yellow River basin. According to historical records, this occurred around 2550 BC. The Yellow Emperor was wise and intelligent, discovering the principles of the compass and the solar system. He also observed the claw and hoof marks left on the ground by birds and beasts, distinguishing their differences, and thus invented the principles of writing, initiating the beginning of civilization and record-keeping. More importantly, the Yellow Emperor, along with six renowned physicians including Qi Bo, completed the medical classic, the *Huangdi Neijing* (Yellow Emperor's Inner Classic). Qi Bo was revered as the "Celestial Master" and served as the Yellow Emperor's medical advisor. Due to frequent visits to the harem and numerous but improper sexual encounters, the Yellow Emperor, at only fifty years old, felt physically weak and consulted Qi Bo and Su Nu. According to the *Huangdi Neijing* (Yellow Emperor's Inner Classic), the chapter "On the Primordial Innocence of Antiquity" states: "I (the Yellow Emperor) asked the people of ancient times, 'They all lived to be over a hundred years old, and their movements were not impaired. People today, even at fifty, are already impaired…'" Qi Bo replied that the reason people of the past lived so long was because they understood the principles of Yin and Yang and had a proper sex life.

Lao Tzu said, "All things carry Yin and embrace Yang, and through the interaction of these two forces, harmony is achieved." The Yin and Yang of Heaven and Earth, and the four seasons, have a certain order, which is the fundamental principle of the life and death of all things. Violating this law of nature inevitably leads to disasters. For example, the order of spring growth, summer flourishing, autumn harvest, and winter storage; if sown in autumn or winter, the seeds will naturally wither and die in the mud, unable to grow. Su Nu's answer to the Yellow Emperor's question was based on the theory of Yin and Yang and the Five Elements, believing that excessive water naturally extinguishes the fire element, which is why men's physical strength declines. This is because there are five elements in Heaven and Earth—wood, earth, water, fire, and metal—that exist continuously, forming all things in Heaven and Earth. The Five Elements also have a cycle of mutual restraint: water restrains earth, earth restrains water, water restrains fire, fire restrains metal, and metal restrains wood. Therefore, a strong water element (woman) can easily harm fire (man). Similarly, an inability to coordinate the timing of orgasms during intercourse can also have adverse consequences. Generally, men fall asleep after ejaculation due to exhaustion. If the woman fails to reach orgasm at this time, it can lead to pathological consequences and disharmony in the couple's sex life. Dr. Kinsey's experiments in the United States showed that after ejaculation, a man's sensation drops sharply from extreme pleasure to a state of no sexual feeling. Newlywed women often suspect that the man's sweet talk before sex, once he has achieved his goal, is ignored, or even avoided, or he falls asleep, which is extremely despicable. This is all due to the bride's lack of understanding of male physiology.

Modern medicine has discovered that a woman's vagina responds better to friction from a man's sexual organs, leading to increased pleasure and excitement, and ultimately, an irresistible urge to climax. This aligns with what Su Nu said: men are of the fire element; if splashed with a large amount of water, their fire will extinguish itself upon ejaculation. Women are of the water element; the more they are heated by fire, the more the water in the cauldron boils and surges. Su Nu advised the Yellow Emperor that premature ejaculation is equivalent to a lack of understanding of normal sexual life. The reason he could not fully enjoy the pleasures of sex, and even suffered exhaustion and near death, was due to his lack of understanding of the nature of water and fire, and the imbalance of yin and yang.

Section Two: Nourishing and Strengthening Essence

Su Nu said: There was a courtesan with profound knowledge of the arts. The king sent her to ask Peng Zu about the methods of prolonging life. Peng Zu said: "Loving one's essence, nourishing one's spirit, and consuming various medicines can lead to longevity. However, without understanding the way of intercourse, even taking medicine will be useless. The union of men and women is like the mutual generation of heaven and earth. Heaven and earth, having the way of intercourse, have no end. Humans, having lost the way of intercourse, suffer premature death. If one can avoid gradual harm and master the art of yin and yang, then one can achieve immortality."

Su Nu said, "There is a woman named Cai Nu who has a deep understanding of the principles of Yin and Yang."

The Yellow Emperor then ordered Cai Nu to consult Peng Zu, inquiring about methods for prolonging life.

Peng Zu replied, "Cherishing one's energy, cultivating one's spirit, and taking various tonics can lead to immortality. However, if one does not understand the way of male-female intercourse, taking any amount of tonics will be of no benefit. The union of male and female is like the mutual support of heaven and earth; it is through this mutual adaptation and cooperation that life endures without end. If people do not understand the way of intercourse, they will harm their bodies and die young, unable to live long. If one can avoid harming one's body and fully understand the principles of Yin and Yang and the art of male-female intercourse, one can achieve immortality and enjoy a long life."

The Yellow Emperor, burdened by countless affairs and a life of indulgence in wine and women, inevitably suffered from some degree of neurasthenia. He often felt ill, and the first step in his treatment, according to his medical advisors, was to boost his confidence. Therefore, the Yellow Emperor accepted Su Nu's recommendation and ordered Cai Nu to consult the immortal master Peng Zu. Cai Nu was a woman of both beauty and talent; she was exceptionally adept at understanding the mysteries of sexual techniques, possessed extraordinary intelligence, and was remarkably beautiful. Peng Zu was an old philosopher skilled in health preservation. Due to his proper health regimen and regular consumption of aphrodisiacs, he remained youthful and energetic despite his advanced age. According to the "Complete Biographies of Immortals," Cai Nu was ordered by King Mu of the Western Zhou Dynasty (around 976 BC) to visit the immortal master Peng Zu and inquire about the secrets of sexual techniques. Upon her return, she taught them to King Mu, who found them remarkably effective after his first attempt. During the Eastern Jin Dynasty, the "Records of Lost Tales" also contains a brief account of this event. The story describes how the Queen Mother of the West descended to earth during King Mu's eastern tour when he ascended the throne at the age of fifty. She shared a night of passion with him. In the throes of their lovemaking, the Queen Mother removed the dried dates inserted into his vagina and urged King Mu to eat them immediately as a tonic to strengthen his virility.

Medical evidence confirms the effectiveness of these dates, as they possess high medicinal value. Dates are often used to treat weakness of internal organs. They are effective in preventing aging, promoting urination, and calming the mind. Since the Han Dynasty, a sedative called "Gan Mai Da Zao Tang" has been used to treat female hysteria. Many ancient Chinese tonics for strengthening the body and enhancing virility are available, and this book will dedicate a section to them. These tonics differ from common aphrodisiacs and lubricants, which only deplete one's energy—akin to drinking poison to quench thirst, and are therefore highly undesirable. Although tonics are beneficial, if one does not cherish their body, indulges in excessive sexual activity, does not understand the way of intercourse, and is unaware of the principle of yin and yang complementarity, then even taking more tonics will be of no use. Peng Zu foresaw this long ago, therefore he believed that the correct way for men and women to have sexual intercourse lies in the harmonious principle of the unity of heaven and earth in nature. People must understand this in order not to ruin their health and to maintain happiness and well-being forever.

Section 3 Frequent Intercourse and Less Ejaculation

The concubine bowed again and said, "I wish to hear your essential teachings." Peng Zu said, "The way is very easy, but people do not believe in it and practice it. Now, the king governs the world and cannot possibly explain the way to everyone. Fortunately, the concubines should know the method of intercourse. The key to the method is to have intercourse with young girls frequently and not let them ejaculate, so that one's body is light and all diseases are eliminated." The concubine then asked Peng Zu to teach her more in depth.

Peng Zu replied, "The principle behind this is simple and easy to understand, but most people lack the willpower or the ability to put it into practice. Emperor Huangdi is currently burdened with countless affairs of state, dealing with the affairs of the world, and is physically and mentally exhausted. Naturally, he cannot deeply understand various principles of health preservation. Fortunately, Emperor Huangdi has many concubines. As long as he grasps the key points of sexual intercourse, he can take good care of himself. This key point is to have intercourse with young women frequently, and to maintain a state of ejaculation without premature ejaculation. This will keep his body light and free from illness."

Peng Zu valued psychological therapy. He believed that Emperor Huangdi, burdened by governance, was physically and mentally exhausted, prone to aging and stagnation, and most detrimental to his youth. Therefore, he advised Emperor Huangdi to choose young women as his sexual partners from among his concubines, and to maintain a state of ejaculation without premature ejaculation. In this way, he could maintain a light and cheerful body and a pleasant mood.

The Book of Kings in the Old Testament mentions how a young girl revitalized the aging and frail Emperor Peter the Great. This suggests that the secrets of sexual techniques in the East and West ultimately converge. Both the Yellow Emperor and Emperor Peter the Great chose young women as their partners to achieve rejuvenation and maintain youthfulness, primarily due to the significant psychological influence.

Modern sex psychologists, such as Havelock Ellis, advocate that both partners need to maintain youthful vitality and influence each other to enhance their sexual pleasure. They point out that while men are naturally inclined towards initiative and aggression, easily seeking stimulation and contact with women other than their wives, women also have similar tendencies to varying degrees, desiring contact with men other than their husbands. However, this impulse is easily suppressed by external moral constraints. Therefore, psychologists advise couples to maintain a cheerful and youthful spirit, especially in troubled families. Doctors often advise wives to dress appropriately at home to please their husbands. He further advised husbands that, despite the fatigue of a long day at work, they should still strive to cultivate harmony and enjoyment in their family life with their wives. The principles of marital sex life are similar. In the early stages of marriage, both partners will find it enjoyable; however, as time goes on, they often experience boredom.

Consider this: if the partners are exactly the same, why would impatience arise? This is likely due to the psychological effect of growing aversion over time. Modern couples cannot frequently change sexual partners, and husbands are even less likely to engage in intercourse with other young women as Peng Zu described. To maintain the principles outlined in this chapter in marital sex life, it depends on mutual cooperation, preserving youthful vitality, and engaging in mutual pleasure.

Another secret mentioned by Peng Zu—avoiding ejaculation—is the so-called "touching without ejaculating," which will be discussed in detail in later chapters. In short, Peng Zu's teachings focus on mental well-being, physical and mental relaxation, and maintaining youthful vitality. This aligns perfectly with modern medical concepts. Especially in modern life, with its stressful yet vibrant environment, people often experience a degree of mental unease and psychological threat, making them more susceptible to illness due to emotional instability. Therefore, readers should not take Su Nu's account lightly.

Section Four: Nine Shallow and One Deep . Su Nu said, "

When engaging in intercourse with a woman

, one should regard her as a piece of tile or stone, and cherish oneself as gold and jade. When one discovers that the woman is experiencing pleasure and her body is moving involuntarily, one should quickly withdraw the penis from her vagina."

"If one wishes to subdue a woman, one must be especially cautious during intercourse. It is like trying to control a galloping, raging horse with rotten reins; or like walking on the edge of an abyss strewn with sharp blades, fearing only a misstep and a fall to one's death. One must be extremely careful. If one can find a way to avoid ejaculation, one can preserve

one's vitality indefinitely! Medical tests show that men are more likely to achieve an erection and reach orgasm, but after orgasm, they suddenly descend into a state of asexuality. Women are different; they require a longer period of foreplay to increase their libido. Su Nu, recognizing this, reminded the Yellow Emperor that during intercourse, one should be mentally prepared, regarding one's partner as a mere mortar, not being too excited, and cherishing one's own essence to avoid excessive ejaculation." Premature ejaculation in men is an age-old yet ever-relevant issue. Modern couples should adhere to the principles outlined in the *Su Nu Jing* (a classic text on sexual techniques)

, striving for coordinated orgasms between partners. Men should not prioritize gratification over the woman's response. Jewish sexual practices dictate that the wife's full consent is required before intercourse. A husband who prioritizes his own sexual gratification without providing his wife with adequate pleasure is considered to have committed "marital rape," a strictly forbidden act in Jewish ethics, as they highly value the concept of "sex as a human right." In ancient China, some clever individuals utilized the principles of acupuncture as a form of foreplay to enhance sexual desire. Acupuncture works by stimulating acupoints along the fourteen meridians to achieve desired effects. Following this system when caressing a woman can effectively arouse her, enhance her sexuality, and help her reach orgasm.

Ancient Chinese sexual techniques involved gentle caresses from fingertips to shoulders, and from toes to thighs. The feet are first caressed from the big toe and second toe, then gradually moved upwards, as the nerve endings in the legs are distributed from top to bottom. The hands are caressed from the middle finger, then the index and ring fingers, rubbing them alternately. First, the back of the hand is rubbed, then the palm is moved upwards, using the four fingers to caress the inside of the arm, gradually moving up to the shoulder. After the caresses of the hands and feet are complete, the man's left hand holds the woman's back tightly, while his right hand caresses her sensitive areas, simultaneously kissing her. The kissing also proceeds gradually, starting with the neck, then the forehead. The man also uses his mouth to kiss her throat, neck, and nipples, and gently nibbles on her ears and other sensitive areas. After this process of thoroughly caressing the woman's main body parts, the "nine shallow, one deep" or "eight shallow, two deep" intercourse techniques are slowly employed, resulting in great pleasure and a very satisfied expression on her face. Although Western medicine, based on anatomical and physiological principles, knows that considerable time must be spent caressing a woman's erogenous zones before intercourse, it is far less effective than the principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) acupuncture, which relies on functional physiology. This is because focusing intently on caressing a woman's meridians in the aforementioned manner results in a very sensitive, rapid, and natural response from her.

A common saying goes, "Nine shallow thrusts followed by one deep thrust, three to the right and three to the left, swaying like an eel, advancing like a leech." These sixteen characters suffice to describe the techniques a man should employ during intercourse. The primary purpose is to teach men to rationally control themselves, maximizing the woman's pleasure and helping her reach orgasm, while avoiding premature ejaculation. The penis first penetrates shallowly nine times, arousing the woman's youthful energy and arousing her desire, then a deep thrust is made—this is called "nine shallow thrusts followed by one deep thrust."

During the nine shallow thrusts, the woman experiences the pleasure of gentle caressing, followed by a powerful penetration, causing her heart to race and her breath to tremble. The man's glans reaches the depths of the vagina, immediately plunging the woman into a state of extreme excitement, with the vagina repeatedly expanding and contracting. The more intense the penetration, the greater the pleasure experienced during intercourse. Besides the nine shallow thrusts followed by one deep thrust, the penis should also thrust left and right, rubbing the right side of the woman's vagina three times, then the left three times. At this point, the woman experiences different pleasures from both vaginal walls, further arousing her desire and making her unable to control herself. Furthermore, when the man's penis enters and exits the vagina, it should not be a rigid pumping motion, but rather like an eel swimming, swaying his body laterally so that both vaginal walls can feel the impact of the penis. Alternatively, it can be like a leech walking, arching its body up and down. In this way, both the upper and lower walls of the woman's vagina can clearly feel the pleasure of the penis's penetration, ultimately leading to ecstasy and orgasm. During

the Sui and Tang dynasties in China, there was an ancient sexual manual—"The Jade Chamber Secrets"—which contained the phrase "eight shallow thrusts and two deep thrusts, death and rebirth, right and left." Whether it's nine shallow thrusts and one deep thrust, or eight shallow thrusts and two deep thrusts, they all lead to the same goal: the rhythm of sexual intercourse. At the same time, limit the frequency of deep penetration. Unless in very special cases, a woman should not always penetrate to the deepest part of the vagina. Deep penetration every time can lead to intense pleasure but can also cause numbness and paralysis, ultimately backfiring. It's like scratching an itch on your back! Excessive force and too many times can easily cause pain.

"Death and Resurrection" refers to the fact that the male penis, stimulated by the peristalsis and temperature of the vaginal walls, is prone to involuntary ejaculation. Therefore, upon discovering the penis is aroused and hard, it should be withdrawn immediately, and then reinserted after it softens slightly. This is the so-called "death and resurrection," meaning weak entry and strong exit. "Right to Left" means the penis must rub against both vaginal walls alternately. The principles of the Jade Chamber Secrets, the Plain Girl Classic, and all ancient sex texts advocate that men should be as rational as possible, delaying ejaculation to coincide with the woman's orgasm. This principle remains unanimously advocated by scholars of literature today. If men regularly practice according to the above method, they will surely enhance their stamina for intercourse, ensuring not only lasting marital bliss but also maintaining the husband's vigor and ensuring victory in every encounter.

Section Five: Health Preservation and Qi Cultivation

The Yellow Emperor asked Su Nu, "I wish to abstain from sexual intercourse for a long time. What should I do?" Su Nu replied, "It is not advisable. Heaven and earth have opening and closing phenomena, yin and yang have their own ways of transforming people. Yin and yang follow the four seasons. If you do not intercourse, your vital energy will not be released, and yin and

yang will be blocked. How can you replenish your vital energy in the normal way? You must repeatedly practice qi cultivation, exhaling waste gas and inhaling fresh air to improve your health. If the penis does not move, the

union will be severed. Therefore, it is necessary to practice regularly as a form of guidance. The ability to move without exertion is called 'returning essence.' Returning essence replenishes life." This is the principle of life cultivation. The Yellow Emperor said to Su Nu, "I wish to abstain from sexual intercourse for a while. What should I do?" Su Nu said, "It is not advisable. The yin and yang energies of heaven and earth have opening and closing phenomena, like spring, summer, autumn, winter, and the light and dark of night, all of which differ according to the seasons. People should act according to this principle of yin and yang, following the changes of the four seasons. If you want to stop intercourse, your vital energy should not be released, and the way of yin and yang will be blocked. In this way, how can you replenish your body in the normal way? You must repeatedly practice qi cultivation, exhaling waste gas and inhaling fresh air to improve your health."

"If the penis is not frequently used for intercourse, it will become like a snake, unable to move and stiff in its nest. Therefore, one should practice guiding exercises to allow the essence to flow smoothly throughout the body. During intercourse, one should use the method of returning essence to prevent the semen from being wasted, storing the essence within the body, thus resulting in a full spirit and vitality." From the *Su Nu Jing* (Classic of the Plain Girl), we can see that ancient methods of promoting sexual vitality were a combination of various approaches, not a narrow focus on just one.

Especially sexual techniques, which must be combined with other health-preserving methods, proceeding simultaneously from multiple angles, to achieve the desired results. The *Su Nu Jing* points out that after mastering guiding exercises and qi cultivation, metabolism will naturally flow smoothly. Combined with the method of returning essence to store the essence within the body, the body will become healthy and energetic, and longevity will be a natural consequence. China has a long history of methods for maintaining health and longevity. Intelligent people studied the lifestyles, dietary habits, and sexual practices of various long-lived animals, eventually distilling these into various "health preservation techniques," such as guiding exercises, qi cultivation, fetal breathing, fasting, dietary practices, and sexual techniques. The *

Su Nu Jing* (Classic of the Plain Girl) is one such sexual technique, and due to its efficacy, it was a closely guarded secret among emperors and nobles. Its effects include bringing happiness and longevity.

Guiding exercises can be described as a form of gentle gymnastics. Similar accounts can be found in the book *Zhuangzi*. Hua Tuo (145-280 AD), a famous physician in ancient China, was able to perform surgeries such as abdominal dissection and eye gouging under anesthesia. He had a profound understanding of guiding exercises, stating that ancient methods included imitating bears hanging from trees to exercise their limbs, and imitating owls rotating their heads to invigorate their necks. Therefore, Hua Tuo himself created the "Five Animal Exercises," observing the movements of five kinds of birds to train himself, so that he could be light and healthy, with a clear mind, and even at ninety-nine years old, his hearing

and eyesight remained sharp, and his teeth were still intact. In summary, the Daoyin method is a health exercise that utilizes movements such as bending and stretching, bending and straightening, walking and lying down, standing, squatting, walking slowly, chanting, and breathing. A contemporary of Hua Tuo was a man named Leng Shouguang, who, because he frequently performed swaying and rotating head and neck exercises and deep breathing, and was well-versed in the sexual techniques of Rong Cheng Gong (a deity), lived to be over 160 years old. Although his hair was gray, his complexion still resembled that of a man in his thirties or forties. Rong Cheng Gong's secret to sexual health was the practice of absorbing yin to supplement yang. The Book of the Later Han Dynasty, in its section on Fangshu (arts of magic), records that in Shangdang County (Shanxi Province), there was a man named Wang Zhen who was nearly a hundred years old, with a ruddy and radiant complexion, looking as if he were under fifty. His secret to longevity lay in practicing fetal breathing and fetal nourishment. The so-called "fetal diet" involves abstaining from grains and only swallowing saliva under the tongue. If one can master this technique, even with a large eye, one can still engage in sexual intercourse. Ancient Chinese health practices advocate satisfying both the basic instincts of food and sex in addition to regular rest and exercise. Only by appropriately relieving the pressure of these desires can one continue to live. Maintaining balance in all aspects of life and consciously improving them leads to strength and longevity.

From a modern medical perspective, guided exercises, or gymnastics, can improve flexibility, strengthen the skin, and promote healthy physical development. Breathing exercises, or breathing health methods, ensure sufficient oxygen in the body, normalize metabolism, and stabilize emotions. Furthermore, by appropriately releasing basic desires and maintaining an orderly life, one can naturally prevent aging and prolong life.

For example, guided exercises involve standing still for a period of time before performing a headstand. This method aligns perfectly with modern medical concepts because when inverted, blood flows towards the head, ensuring ample blood supply to the upper body. This not only prevents hair loss and chronic headaches but also stimulates the pituitary gland, promoting increased libido. Similarly, breathing exercises teach "expelling the old and taking in the new," releasing waste gases and inhaling fresh air. This also aligns well with modern medical requirements.

Ordinary people don't inhale enough air during breathing, and breathing exercises address this deficiency. Hao Mengjie, a fellow townsman of Wang Zhen, often held a large date in his mouth, sat still, stopped breathing, and remained motionless for a hundred days without food or drink, resembling a dead person. His wife, simple and honest, witnessed her husband's state without emotion or fear. Cao Cao, knowing Hao Mengjie's profound abilities, appointed him as the chief supervisor of all alchemists.

Indian yoga (originating six thousand years ago) also has a similar form of artificial hibernation, lengthening breathing time, slowing the pulse, and lowering body temperature and blood pressure. It consumes very little physical energy each day, consuming only small amounts of water and oxygen to sustain life. Through repeated practice, it can survive being buried for a month. The ancients used abdominal breathing combined with dietary methods to prevent aging and treat high blood pressure and constipation. They also used Qigong therapy to effectively cure neurasthenia, gastrointestinal diseases, and tuberculosis. This is also a type of meditation breathing method.

Chinese Tai Chi Chuan evolved from Hua Tuo's Five Animal Frolics, which in turn originated from fetal breathing and guiding exercises. Simplified Tai Chi Chuan has twenty-four movements, spreading from China and Southeast Asia to all corners of the world. While the movements vary from beginning to end, there are no segmented sections; they are all continuous movements, drawing various circular curves. The Eight Pieces of Brocade are similar; the key to practice is to unify the mind and concentrate the will. Although the whole body is in motion, breathing is not rapid, but rather rhythmic and natural, increasing the depth of breathing, practiced daily without ceasing.

This gentle exercise is effective in preventing and treating diseases such as high blood pressure, mental stress, stomach ulcers, heart disease, and many chronic and modern ailments. Furthermore, it is beneficial to the nervous, circulatory, respiratory, digestive, and metabolic systems.

The "Tai Chi Classics" instruct practitioners to practice deep breathing from the dantian. The dantian is the focal point in acupuncture. It has three locations: on the head (brain), on the diaphragm, and below the navel. The latter refers to the area below the navel, which, according to Taoist research, is the most important location in the body. Deep breathing allows "qi" to gather here, maintaining a calm and stable mind, thus promoting longevity. American medical researchers have confirmed that practicing Tai Chi and Baduanjin can stabilize the mind and emotions. "Dantian breathing" is the best method for cultivating endurance.

The purpose of regulating breath and nourishing qi is to increase stamina; those with poor stamina during sex should practice dantian breathing. Ancient texts contain extensive information about dantian breathing. The book Zhuangzi states, "The true man breathes deeply into his feet, while the common man breathes shallowly into his throat." In essence, this means training oneself to inhale as much fresh air as possible to dispel physical fatigue. Marathon runners use this method to replenish the large amounts of oxygen consumed over long periods. Ge Hong (281-341) of the Eastern Jin Dynasty pointed out the "fetal breathing method," which involves breathing as if in the womb. Inhale

through the nostrils, silently count to 120, then slowly exhale, ensuring the exhaled air is less than the inhaled air, thus storing vital energy within the body. Diligent practitioners can often count to 1000 before exhaling. Reaching this level is said to rejuvenate and maintain youth.

The fetal breathing method, by reducing exhalation and accumulating more fresh oxygen in the body, aligns well with modern medical concepts. Applying this principle to sexual techniques involves controlling ejaculation. Ancient China had sayings like "absorbing yin to supplement yang" and "absorbing yang to supplement yin," which we will briefly explore.

"Yin-Yang replenishment" refers to the absorption of a woman's essence and storing it in a man's body, also known as "essence return method," which is one of the secrets to longevity.

"Absorbing Yang to Nourish Yin" involves the man ejaculating and then absorbing the semen into the woman's body, becoming a method of "returning essence" and longevity for the woman. The Qing Dynasty novel "The Carnal Prayer Mat" mentions the courtesan Gu Xianniang's secret method of absorbing male semen, a rather unique sexual technique. Male semen should never be wasted; each ejaculation should have a benefit. When the woman orgasms, she should press the man's glans tightly against the vaginal opening, preventing him from moving, and tightly seal the vaginal opening, absorbing as much of the man's semen as possible. The semen entering the woman's body travels upwards from the coccyx (the end of the spine) to the lower abdomen (Dantian). This effect is unmatched by ginseng or aconite. This is the woman's "Absorbing Yang to Nourish Yin" method.

While the phenomenon of male semen traveling from the coccyx to the Dantian is a legendary Taoist practice, empirically speaking, this method is possible. There are indeed yogi practitioners who have successfully practiced this method.

The ancient Chinese practice of the "Small Heavenly Circuit" involves meditating while sitting, guiding Yang energy through the Dantian (three inches below the navel), Huiyin (between the genitals and anus), then to the coccyx, Jiazhui (middle of the spine), Yuzhen (below the back of the head), Nijiu (brain), and Tanzhong (between the breasts). This level of skill typically requires two to three years to achieve. If a man can master the Small Heavenly Circuit, during intercourse, by closely pressing his penis against the woman's clitoris, he can induce extreme arousal in the woman, causing her to lose all strength and never want to leave him.

The author, Su Nu, points out that men must employ both Qi cultivation and guiding techniques to achieve the goal of "returning essence." The "Jade Chamber Secrets" also records that men who diligently practice abdominal breathing to increase strength and stamina should take a deep breath during intercourse, concentrating it in the lower abdomen (Dantian), silently counting to thirty, then exhaling.

This helps to make the penis firm and last longer. Before ejaculation, one should immediately hold back and resolutely withdraw from the vagina. When it softens slightly, continue, repeating this process of hard-in-soft-out, going through cycles of erection and re-emergence. With diligent practice, in less than ten days the penis will be as hard as iron and as hot as a torch, invincible and unstoppable. What kind of training should women do in this regard? During the Han Dynasty, there was a beautiful woman with a slender waist, Yue Feiyan, who practiced "Qi cultivation techniques" from a young age. She used rapid dance steps to train her waist, tightened her belt, and used breathing exercises to develop strong breath-holding power. Due to this long-term practice, her vaginal contractions became very strong, enough to bring the penis to a blissful orgasm. At this time, she could absorb a man.

This function, like the Qi cultivation method (fetal Qi method), belongs to static training. (My translation of "Yoga Love Techniques" introduces ten forms, each chapter with illustrations and my own demonstration pictures, which are quite valuable for reference.) The aforementioned Zhao Feiyan concentrated her internal energy in her big toe and then danced to the fast and slow rhythm of the music to cultivate her qi and strength. In 1926, Zhang Jingsheng, a sociology professor at Peking University, wrote a book called "History of Sex," which can be considered the earliest report on sexual experience, and it describes it in great detail. According to Xiangmei's experience, "The art of the bedroom is truly difficult to master. First, one must cultivate inner energy, then contract the vagina. Practicing this technique takes at least a year or two to succeed. Once mastered, the vagina can contract freely, and one will enjoy it immensely.

There is a specific sequence during intercourse: when the penis enters, the vagina should loosen; after insertion, it should tighten, creating a sudden, gripping sensation. Each time the penis thrusts in and out, the woman's vagina expands and contracts, bringing immense pleasure and endless enjoyment to the man." Similar to this sexual yoga exercise, it can be easily practiced in daily life. For example, while riding a bus, one can hold onto the handrail and tighten the anal sphincter muscles, creating a contraction and relaxation motion for exercise.

Fasting, in short, is a method of purifying the digestive system by reducing food intake. "Taking ingestion" is similar, using herbs like goji berries to strengthen the body. Hua Tuo frequently used dietary methods for health preservation. He often consumed "Qi Ye Yu Mai San" (漆叶育麦散), a traditional Chinese medicine formula, to expel parasites, strengthen the five internal organs, and promote a light and healthy body, thus eliminating disease. This method of consumption is widely known and is a common Chinese practice for eliminating parasites. The formula for Qi Ye Yu Mai San consists of one dou (斗) of lacquer leaves and fourteen liang (两) of green wheat (huangzhi). Hua Tuo pointed out that long-term use can expel parasites and impurities, promote internal organ function, promote a light and healthy body, and prevent gray hair. Green wheat is mainly produced in Shaanxi, Anhui, Jiangsu, and Henan provinces. Long-term use is a characteristic of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). Zhang Zhongjing's "Jin Gui Shen Qi Wan" (金匮肾气丸), after being improved by Emperor Qianlong of the Qing Dynasty, became one of the ten famous medicines in TCM, specifically the "Bao Shen Wan" (保肾丸), a formula for treating kidney deficiency.

TCM emphasizes the kidney system; any decline in energy, physical weakness, or poor sexual function is considered "kidney deficiency." Long-term use of Bao Shen Wan can strengthen kidney function and improve stamina. Many people can only blow out a candle from one and a half meters away, but after taking kidney-protecting pills for a long time, they can blow out a candle from three meters away in one breath.

Section Six: Atmosphere and Sensibility.

The *Su Nu Jing* states that the Yellow Emperor said, "The interaction of Yin and Yang is governed by proper rhythm. The Su Nu Jing explains the way of sexual intercourse, thus it has form. The man's energy will not decline, and the woman's health will be restored. The mind and spirit will be entertained, and the strength will be strong. However, the practitioner will gradually decline. To know the way, one must calm the mind, soothe the spirit, and harmonize the will. When the three energies reach their peak, the spirit will return to its proper state. Neither cold nor hot, neither excessive nor insufficient, the body will be at peace, and the nature will be relaxed, slow, shallow, and gentle. The desire for pleasure will be strong, and the man's vitality will not decline. This is the first chapter of the *Su Nu Jing*. The Su Nu Jing states that stopping intercourse violates the principles of Yin and Yang.

The Yellow Emperor then asked, "So what are the principles of the rhythm of male and female intercourse?"

The Su Nu Jing replied, "The interaction of male and female intercourse is an innate instinct, but it should not cause the man to gradually weaken, and the woman's... " The principle of intercourse is to cure all diseases, bring joy to both body and mind, and ensure physical strength and vitality. If one does not understand the principles of Yin and Yang, the body will gradually weaken. The key to intercourse lies in emotional stability, a relaxed mind, and abundant energy. If these three energies are abundant, and essence, energy, and spirit are concentrated, one will naturally be resistant to heat and cold, and neither too full nor too hungry. With excellent physical condition,

one's emotions will also be relaxed and carefree. During intercourse, one should still adhere to the principles of shallow penetration and slow movements. To achieve pleasure for the woman while preserving the man's energy, one should strictly adhere to the above principles.” Su Nu told the Yellow Emperor that the key to the way of intercourse is to pay attention to physical and mental well-being, and to prepare and train oneself. Once on the battlefield, one should maintain emotional stability, a relaxed mind, and abundant energy, so that both body and mind are healthy and invincible.

The ancient Jewish sexual classic, the Damd, contains a similar and interesting precept: "If a couple truly loves each other, even a bed as narrow as a sword's edge can provide comfortable and pleasant sleep; otherwise, if the couple is not on good terms, even the largest bed will not bring comfort and peace."

This also refers to the need for men and women to be calm and peaceful, mutually joyful, and free from any hostility. The way of marriage lies in regulating sensuality, including responsiveness to sexual stimulation, external stimuli, and the use of sexual techniques. These three are fundamental pillars, none of which can be lacking. Although these three are interconnected, the latter two require the man to actively cultivate and enhance them.

Psychologists have found that the atmosphere during intercourse is a crucial element for women. According to Dr. Kinsey's report, men can achieve penile erection or arousal through mere imagination. However, women's sensuality is more tangible, requiring visual, auditory, or tactile stimulation to arouse desire.

Therefore, the atmosphere during intercourse must be carefully considered. A woman's libido is also easily interrupted by unfavorable external stimuli. Modern medicine indicates that women tend to prefer sex in the dark, while men prefer the opposite. Men enjoy seeing each other's positions during intercourse and the woman's full-body reactions. Women are less likely to reach orgasm in bright light or in broad daylight. Furthermore, women dislike interruptions during intercourse, such as receiving a phone call midway through. While men can resume, women find it harder to rekindle their desire, demonstrating that women value atmosphere.

The conclusions of sex psychologist Sir John B. Woodrow also highlight the importance of this atmosphere. Because courtship is closely linked to biological phenomena, sexual activity exhibits seasonality and cyclicality in both animals and uncivilized humans, especially for the female. Most animals do not engage in sexual activity year-round. Many higher animals also have breeding seasons, once or twice a year, in spring and autumn, or both.

Many uncivilized cultures also share this custom, and many geographically dispersed populations on Earth possess this characteristic. Even unrelated ethnic groups have grand carnivals in spring, autumn, or both, providing young men and women with opportunities for sexual intercourse and marriage. In civilized countries, the frequency of women's pregnancies also has its own rhythm, generally following a curve throughout the year, with a much higher rate in spring or autumn—this is the lingering charm of these primitive festivals.

Sometimes, couples may not share the same interest in sex, which is when "cultivating the right atmosphere" is necessary. Women do have menstrual cycles, and according to the medical community, their libido is highest around menstruation. Julius Nelson's observations also demonstrated a 28-day sexual cycle or recurrence. Furthermore, Perry Coste and Von Roemer reported similar male sexual cycles. The latter even went further, finding that men have two peaks in their monthly sexual recurrence: a larger peak after the full moon and a smaller one during the new moon. This observation aligns with the experiences of primitive societies, whose carnival gatherings are closely linked to the waxing and waning of the moon.

Some scholars, such as German neuroscientists Von Krafft Ebing, Kossmann, and Guyot, argue that a woman's peak libido occurs a few days after menstruation. Others, like Otto Adler and Harry Campbell, suggest it occurs before, after, or during menstruation.

More recently, physician Katharine Davis, after observing the sexual lives of two thousand women, found that their peak libido almost always occurred between two days before and seven days after menstruation, with the premenstrual period being more intense than the postmenstrual period. Given these differences in the timing of peak libido between men and women, cultivating the right atmosphere during intercourse is crucial. As mentioned earlier, women dislike bright light during intercourse, which is partly due to female shyness, a phenomenon also observed in the animal kingdom.

Initially, shyness is often a sign of rejection in female animals because their ovulation period has not yet arrived. When the mating season arrives, this shyness remains, but combined with the power of sexual impulse, it transforms into a coy, half-welcoming, half-rejecting attitude and behavior. At this point, the female approaches the male, sometimes drawing near, sometimes fleeing, though the escape route is circular. A woman's attitude during intercourse is similar. A primal shyness and a tendency to avoid constantly surface in her mind, and the man who initiates the attack, wanting to capture this beautiful female beast and share the pleasure of union, must weave an alluring trap—that is, cultivating the atmosphere before intercourse. The *Su Nu Jing* (Classic of the Plain Girl) advocates that the way of Yin and Yang lies in the harmony between men and women, cultivating the atmosphere—a truly insightful observation. If this principle is not followed, the woman's sexual flower will naturally not bloom, and may even become a hard bud that never opens!

Section Seven: The Four Seasons and the Five

Organs. The Mysterious Woman Classic states that the Yellow Emperor asked the Mysterious Woman, "I have received the Yin-Yang arts from the Plain Woman and I have my own methods. I wish to receive them back to me so that I may know all that she has left behind." The Mysterious Woman said that the movement between heaven and earth requires Yin and Yang. Yin transforms into Yang and Yang communicates. Yin and Yang depend on each other and move together. Therefore, men feel strong and powerful, while women avoid tension and tension. The two energies interact, and the essence flows and the fluids communicate. Men have eight sections, and women have nine palaces. If they are used improperly, men will suffer from paralysis and carbuncles, and women will suffer from menstrual disorders and all kinds of diseases. Growth and lifespan will decline. If one can know how to enjoy it, one will become strong and long-lived, and one's complexion will be as beautiful as a flower.

The Yellow Emperor said to the Mysterious Woman, "I have learned a general outline of the principles of Yin and Yang from the So-Woman. I hope you can explain it to me in more detail."

The Mysterious Woman said, "All things in the world are derived from the interaction of Yin and Yang. Yang is nurtured by Yin, and Yin grows by Yang. Yin and

Yang complement each other, influence each other, and cycle and generate each other. Therefore, when a man's penis comes into contact with a woman, it will become erect; when a woman is sexually stimulated, her vagina will open, and the two energies of Yin and Yang will come into contact, and the semen will be exchanged, creating a harmonious union. During intercourse, the man should observe eight precepts, and the woman should observe nine rules. If these precepts are ignored and intercourse is promiscuous, the man will easily develop carbuncles and abscesses, and the woman will suffer from menstrual irregularities and a host of other diseases. In the end, she will die and be gone from this world forever. Conversely, if one understands and practices the principles of Yin and Yang, one can be healthy, happy, and live a long life."

Although the eight precepts for men and the nine rules for women are not explicitly stated, we can glean the full picture from the following chapters. Both Xuan Nu and Su Nu were authorities on the art of sexual intercourse, which later generations often referred to as the "Way of Xuan and Su." A book called "Xuan Nu Jing" (Classic of the Mysterious Woman) is also attributed to her, a medical book on sexology published under the name of Xuan Nu, slightly later than "Su Nu Jing." "

Xuan Nu Jing" also mentions that sexual activity must follow the natural rhythm and be conducted in moderation. It also warns that without moderation, numerous illnesses will arise, even leading to premature death. Conversely, if one understands the principles of Yin and Yang and practices moderate and restrained sexual activity, one can not only enjoy the pleasures of the bedroom but also benefit from improved health and longevity.

Ancient Chinese philosophers divided all things in the world into two elements: Yin and Yang. They believed that Taiji (the Supreme Ultimate) generates Yin and Yang, and Yin and Yang create all things. When Yin and Yang are in harmony, all things exist. The views on disease held by Japanese physician Dr. Ishihara Akira are also based on the Yin-Yang duality. He said, "The human body is also governed by the duality of Yin and Yang. Men belong to Yang and women to Yin, thus they are already governed by their innate gender. The same applies to different parts of the body: the back is Yang and the abdomen is Yin; the skin is Yang and what lies beneath the skin is Yin; the five viscera (mostly solid organs, such as the heart, liver, spleen, lungs, and kidneys) belong to Yin, while the six bowels (gallbladder, stomach, small intestine, large intestine, bladder, and triple burner) belong to Yang. Their functions mutually restrain and harmonize each other. Therefore, following the principles of Yin and Yang leads to health. Otherwise, an imbalance of Yin and Yang will occur, and in severe cases, illness will result."

The second volume of the Yellow Emperor's Inner Classic states that Heaven has four seasons and five elements—"Heaven generates storage" and "Cold, Heat, Dryness, Dampness, and Wind." That is, spring brings birth, summer fosters growth, autumn harvests, and winter stores; water is the primary element, hence cold; summer belongs to humans, hence heat; autumn belongs to metal, hence dryness; spring belongs to wood, hence wind; and late summer belongs to earth, hence dampness. In nature, there are four seasons and five elements: spring, summer, autumn, winter, and water, fire, metal, wood, and earth, which govern the timing of Heaven and the development of all things. Humans have five internal organs, which generate five vital energies.

The five internal organs are the liver, heart, spleen, lungs, and kidneys, and the five vital energies are joy, anger, sorrow, worry, and fear. Joy and anger injure the vital energy, while cold and heat injure the physical form. If a person's joy and anger are uncontrolled, and they experience excessive cold and heat, their vitality will inevitably be weakened, making them prone to illness. Traditional Chinese medicine refers to the "five strains and seven injuries," namely, joy injures the heart, anger injures the liver, sorrow injures the lungs, worry injures the spleen, and fear injures the kidneys. To protect the five internal organs, one should strive for emotional stability. People with unstable emotions, whose joy and anger are unpredictable, will naturally affect the function of their internal organs, thus endangering their health. People who are overly tense or excited often experience the unfortunate consequence of extreme joy turning into sorrow, because the heart will be affected. Since the heart's function is to regulate blood circulation, such a person will inevitably appear haggard and listless. People who are naturally pessimistic will have their lungs affected. Since the lungs govern respiration and skin and hair, such a person will inevitably have rough skin, thinning and dull hair, and their organs will inevitably be prone to disease. Many asthma sufferers, no matter how ambitious they are, are worn down by the pain of asthma. Those who live in fear and stress affect their kidneys. The kidneys govern bone marrow, body fluids, and excretion, so such people often feel tired, lack energy, and experience abnormal bowel movements, most notably constipation.

New recruits often experience constipation during the first week in camp due to stress, only returning to normal after adjusting to life there. Unhealthy internal organs not only manifest in a person's appearance but also in their dreams. The 24th chapter of the *Huangdi Neijing Suwen* states that people with weak lung qi often dream of metal weapons and killing people, chickens, or ducks. If they have this dream in autumn (autumn belongs to metal), they will dream of two armies fighting or brawling. People with weak kidney qi often dream of drowning while swimming in water in summer. If they have this dream in winter (winter belongs to water), they will dream of trembling and hiding in water or in icy snow, experiencing extreme fear and panic. People with liver qi deficiency often dream of exotic flowers, mushrooms, and grasses. If they dream of these in spring (spring belongs to wood), they will dream of hiding in dense forests and deep mountains. People with heart qi deficiency often dream of burning paper or male genitalia. If they dream of these in summer (dreams belong to fire), they will dream of a large fire burning a mountain and the need to fight the fire. People with spleen qi deficiency often dream of extreme hunger. If they dream of these in the second, fifth, eighth, or twelfth lunar months, they will dream of building houses, filling them with soil and burying bricks to fill their empty stomachs.

The five viscera belong to yin, and the six bowels belong to yang. The above-described phenomena indicate that the qi of the five viscera is deficient, with excess yang qi and insufficient yin qi. Conversely, if a reader dreams of participating in the Olympic swimming competition, winning the gold medal, and outperforming all others, they should not be complacent. They should be aware of the possibility of kidney disease and carefully reflect on whether they have been frightened recently, whether their life has been stressful, or whether there are any hidden pressures, problems, or crises in their daily life. Furthermore, one should make good use of their wisdom to dispel doubts and overcome difficulties. The aforementioned accounts of diagnosing illnesses through dreams are corroborated by modern medical and psychological theories. Psychologist Sigmund Freud, a master of psychoanalysis, conducted in-depth research on dreams and discovered that frustrations in real life are often released in dreams. For example, a low-level employee might frequently dream of becoming wealthy, the chairman of a large company, and commanding their subordinates. Timid people often become fighting heroes in their dreams.

Therefore, people with spleen deficiency often dream of themselves feasting at a table, or filling in pits and building houses. This is actually a psychological "compensation mechanism." The medical community recognizes that the mind and body are interconnected; the body can influence the mind, and the mind can influence the body. Therefore, physical deficiencies, such as spleen deficiency, cause a person to be prone to overgeneralization and lack of precision in all matters, big or small. Although naturally cheerful and always smiling, they may become careless. Since the spleen governs muscles and other tissues, this can easily lead to a person being bloated and lacking in internal strength. This manifests in dreams during sleep; for example, they may experience excessive eating and drinking, or even become great architects, filling valleys and building palaces and mansions, creating magnificent buildings and spacious rooms. Ancient philosophers said that heaven is yang and earth is yin, the sun is yang and the moon is yin, and the moon is yang and the night is yin. Yin and yang are one, like two sides of the same coin. The *Su Nu Jing* says, "Yang transforms with yin, and yin follows the way with yang; yin and yang depend on each other for their existence." How profound these words are!

Chapter Eight: A Moment of Spring Night is Worth a

Thousand Pieces of Gold. The Yellow Emperor asked, "How does the interaction of Yin and Yang work?" Su Nu replied, "The way of interaction has its own form. Men use it to generate Qi, and women use it to eliminate illness. Mental enjoyment and energy increase strength. Those who do not know this will be weakened. To know the way, one must calm the mind and harmonize the will. The spirit should be at peace, neither too cold nor too hot, neither too full nor too hungry. The body should be stable, the mind and nature should be relaxed, slow and deep, and the movement should be gentle. One should be cautious and not dare to go too far. When women are afraid and happy, men will not decline." The Yellow Emperor then asked, "What is the principle of Yin and Yang interaction?"

Su Nu replied, "The union of men and women is a natural phenomenon, an inherent part of the fixed lifespan of the species. Men become strong and vigorous through it, and women are free from illness; both experience pleasure and good health. However, if one does not understand the proper way of union, the body will be damaged and gradually decline."

"So, what is the proper way of union?" she continued. "It is to maintain a calm mind, harmonious spirit, stable emotions, and unity of body and mind. Following this principle for health, one should avoid extreme heat or cold, and moderate hunger and thirst. With a clear mind and upright conduct, one's temperament will naturally be relaxed and graceful." She advised, "During the initial union, insert slowly and gently, with minimal thrusting. This is the key; avoid any taboos, and the woman will be happy, and the man will not decline." Su Nu placed great emphasis on psychological issues, therefore advocating that men should cultivate their inner strength in ordinary times, and during union, maintain emotional stability and a peaceful state of mind, naturally achieving pleasure in sexual intercourse and promoting health and longevity. Among men's sexual problems, perhaps the most distressing is premature ejaculation.

The fear of being unable to satisfy a woman's needs due to premature ejaculation is the most dangerous thing in sexual life. If a man has experienced something similar and is hesitant, he will easily lose confidence during future intercourse, leading to a decline in sexual performance. Over the years, he will lose his ability to perform.

Su Nu, aware of this, taught the Yellow Emperor to first remain calm and confident, and to try to prolong the duration of intercourse, which would cure premature ejaculation. In addition, she taught him how to use the meridian principles of acupuncture to perform foreplay before intercourse, hoping to make the woman feel happy, increase her libido, and finally reach orgasm. Details of this can be found in the following chapters. Because the orgasm curves of men and women are different, men often ejaculate prematurely during intercourse. This is especially common among inexperienced men.

This is probably the case on the first night of marriage. According to a survey by Dr. Junmi Ishihiro of Japan on whether there was a failure in the first intercourse, the numbers are as follows:

(1) No failure…………………………73.4%

(2) Failure…………………………36. 0%

(3) No answer…………………………0:7%

This report shows that the number of people who fail their first intercourse is more than we can imagine. Of course, the first failure is not entirely due to premature ejaculation in men, but this reason accounts for more than one-tenth, that is, one or two out of every ten people will fail their first intercourse because they ejaculate before intercourse. However, the number of people who fail their first intercourse because men do not know how to be gentle and are not familiar with the techniques, causing pain to women, is three times that.

Let's take a look at the statistics of the reasons for the failure of the first intercourse:

(1) Penis shrinkage before intercourse………………4.8%

(2) Ejaculation before intercourse………………

11.3%

(3) Pain during intercourse……………………37.1% (4) Cannot find the vulva……………………17.7%

(5) Unknown reason……………………20.1%

(6) Other…………………………3.6%

(7) No answer……………………5. The statistics above show that men are too excited or nervous before intercourse, so they ejaculate before even penetrating the vaginal canal. In some cases, due to excessive tension, they cannot even get an erection, thus making intercourse impossible. Item ( 3

) is mostly due to men being too hasty, not spending enough time cultivating the atmosphere and foreplay, and not having enough lubrication for either partner before attempting penetration, which naturally leads to pain for the woman and ruins the beauty of the first intercourse. As for men who, even with their penises in place, cannot find the opening, cannot feel the moisture, or cannot distinguish the vaginal opening, this is entirely the fault of men's ignorance. Combining the reasons mentioned above (1), (2), (3), and (4), we can easily find that due to men's neglect, the probability of failure in the first intercourse is as high as 79%. This figure does not include the other 30% of unexplained reasons, so 79% is still a very conservative estimate. The *Su Nu Jing* (Classic of the Plain Girl) instructs men to "calm their breath," "settle their minds," and "harmonize their will," and to "move gently and slowly," and "enter and exit with restraint." This is indeed well-founded. What happens to couples whose first sexual encounter fails? Consider the following statistics:

(1) Those who become a very happy couple…73.4%

(2) Those who later become happy but still divorce…

19.2% (3) Those who divorce due to unsatisfactory intercourse

…1.9% (4) Those who divorce because of this…4.5%

(5) No answer…6.6%

One-quarter of the cases result in divorce due to unsatisfactory first intercourse. This shows that men bear absolute responsibility for the perfection of intercourse, both technically and psychologically. Incomplete erection, premature ejaculation, or other reasons preventing intercourse on the first night should not be considered pathological. These are all psychological factors, caused by being too nervous or too excited. Some are due to early masturbation, which leads to feelings of inferiority and the belief in legends, resulting in fear of not being able to complete the task, and in the end, they really cannot have sex. Men with this phenomenon, as long as they are calm and prepared, will surely be able to overcome all obstacles and reach the enemy's lair in the second round. In the survey data, the statistics of those who were able to complete the task and fulfill their mission (the historical mission of procreation and carrying on the past) after the first failed sexual intercourse are as follows:

(1) Second success……………………

30.1 %

(2) Third to fifth times……………………43.8% (3) Sixth to tenth times……………………10.8%

(4) After the eleventh time……………………8.8%

(5) No answer…………………………6.6%

Men with premature ejaculation will always feel some unease and shame. Some women with extensive knowledge of sex might blurt out things like, "You came? That's terrible!" or "You're impotent!" or "It's premature ejaculation!" Such comments can cause men to lose confidence and self-esteem, often leading to actual impotence and premature ejaculation later in life. In such situations, the woman should gently and casually advise her husband to rest early, try again another day, or sleep a while and try again later. If intercourse is difficult due to the woman's pain, never force it and cause adverse consequences.

Take a break, wait until the mood improves, and then use caresses and sweet talk to create a good atmosphere, allowing both partners' genitals to be adequately lubricated before attempting intercourse again. If penetration fails several times in a row, the couple should consult a reputable gynecologist for examination and guidance. Conditions like "hymenal rigidity" are extremely rare; most cases are caused by the woman's anxiety and fear. As long as there are no abnormalities in the genitals, there is no need to worry. Otherwise, if the man forces himself too much, touching the suffocation point may cause a vaginal reflex contraction, resulting in "vaginal spasm," which would be even more troublesome.

To ensure a smooth and perfect first night, both men and women should consult relevant reference books to understand the structure of each other's sexual organs and general sexual knowledge. Then, with a calm and peaceful attitude, they should engage in sexual intercourse. As the saying goes, "A moment of spring night is worth a thousand pieces of gold," so to avoid wasting it, readers may carefully study this book to maintain good health and lasting pleasure!

Section Nine: Calm and Peaceful, Natural and Comfortable

. The Yellow Emperor asked, "Now I want to force intercourse, but my penis doesn't rise. I feel ashamed, sweaty, and greedy. How can I force it? I wish to hear the way." The Plain

Girl replied, "What the Emperor asks is common knowledge. When one desires to have intercourse with a woman, there is a proper way. First, one must be harmonious, and the penis will rise. Follow the five constant principles and maintain the nine parts of the body. Women have five colors, which are sufficient to collect the overflowing essence. Take the fluid into the mouth, and the essence will be transformed to fill the marrow and organs. Avoid the seven harmful prohibitions and follow the eight beneficial ways. Do not go against the five constant principles, and the body can maintain its righteous energy. When the internal organs are full, no disease will not be eliminated. The body will be peaceful, smooth, and lubricated. Every time, the strength will be a hundred times greater, and the enemy will be truly subdued. What shame is there?

" The Yellow Emperor asked, "I really want to have intercourse..." He wanted to have sex, but his penis couldn't get erect. Facing a woman, he was so ashamed he was sweating profusely, feeling utterly humiliated. Even trying to force his penis into her vagina with his hand was useless. How could he become strong in this situation? Please tell me the secret in detail!

The maiden replied, "Your Majesty's problem is a common ailment for most men. Anyone who wants to have intercourse with a woman should be mentally prepared and proceed step by step. First, you must be calm and composed; only then will your penis naturally become erect and firm."

"If a man follows the Five Constant Virtues, a woman will surely exhibit nine responses. A woman's sexual response manifests in five ways; once these phenomena are fully apparent, her body will be filled with vital essence. At this time, if a man sucks the woman's saliva, he can return the vital essence to his own body, filling his brain.

This avoids violating the Seven Losses and naturally follows the Eight Benefits, without straying from the Five Constant Virtues. One can maintain good health, be full of vital energy, and have no fear of illness." Su Nu continued, "If the five internal organs are healthy, one's appearance will naturally be radiant and full of vitality. Each time you have intercourse, your penis will be as hard as iron, with a hundred times the strength, easily subduing your partner, and you will no longer be ashamed of impotence."

Su Nu pointed out that premature ejaculation is a common phenomenon in men, but as long as one remains calm and composed, one can grasp the key to prolonged intercourse and naturally cure the problem. Therefore, if premature ejaculation is considered a physiological ailment, it is better to view it as a psychological issue. Besides maintaining a calm and peaceful mind, what other things should be considered during actual intercourse? It turns out that men and women have their own set of procedures for sexual response. There are also some taboos that should not be violated during intercourse.

If a man can fully understand and skillfully apply the methods of "Five Constants," "Nine Qi," "Five Colors," "Seven Losses," and "Eight Benefits," he will be strong and vigorous, and will have no difficulty in controlling a woman. The methods mentioned in this chapter will be explained in detail in later chapters. Traditional Chinese medicine has always attached great importance to the "kidney" organ among the five internal organs, believing it to be the place where nutrients and essence are stored. Many physicians highly recommend garlic, believing it can strengthen the kidneys.

A large proportion of Chinese people have a habit of eating garlic. The workers who built the Egyptian pyramids also often used garlic to replenish their strength. If garlic and soybeans are cooked together, it is very effective in strengthening the kidneys and improving sexual function. The functions of the kidneys are related to body fluids, bone marrow, and excretion. When a man is in intercourse… Sucking on a woman's saliva to replenish marrow ensures abundant essence and strength, especially enhancing sexual ability.

Various techniques in sexual arts, such as the "returning essence to nourish the brain (marrow sea)," "returning essence," "sperm absorption," and "yin-yang replenishment," are all derived from this principle. Those skilled in sexual arts use the method of "returning essence" to absorb the released secretions. Ancient emperors maintained Taoist priests in their palaces who could enable the emperor to have sex with hundreds of women at night without fatigue, remaining a dominant figure in the bedroom despite having numerous concubines.

Many skilled priests possessed exceptional abilities in yin-yang replenishment, inserting their penis into a cup, absorbing water, then squeezing out the water and returning it to the cup. This allowed them to skillfully use the yin-yang replenishment technique during intercourse. Indian yogis have also demonstrated this practice. They can freely release and absorb water through their anus. Place a full cup of water on the ground, gently shake the side of the cup, and simultaneously draw in water using their internal energy. They can empty the cup in just two or three minutes, then refill it. This may sound impossible, but it is indeed true. For those who cultivate themselves, achieving physiological control through focused willpower is not difficult.

Ordinary people, if they can concentrate, can also achieve some degree of control. The essence of the *Su Nu Jing* (Classic of the Plain Girl) is nothing more than that during intercourse, one should not be too tense or excited, but rather maintain composure. Although ejaculation is a reflex, with proper control and proper training of the autonomic nervous system, premature ejaculation cannot be prevented!

Section Ten: The Necessity of Caressing.

The *Xuan Nu Jing* states that the Yellow Emperor said, "During intercourse, if the woman is not pleased, her body does not move, her fluids do not flow, her penis is not strong, small, and lacks power. Why is this?" The *Xuan Nu* replied, "Yin and Yang interact and respond to each other. Therefore, if Yang cannot have Yin, it will not be pleased; if Yin cannot have Yang, it will not arise. The man desires intercourse, but the woman is not pleased; the woman desires intercourse, but the man is not pleased. Their hearts are not in harmony, their essence and energy do not resonate. Suddenly, the upper body is violently aroused, and the lower body's pleasure is not expressed. The man desires the woman, and the woman desires the man; their feelings are in harmony, and both are pleased. Therefore, the woman's body is aroused, the man's penis is strong, and the man's power is vigorous. The semen flows freely, sometimes slow, sometimes fast. The jade gate opens and closes, sometimes truly engaged, yet without exertion. The strong enemy is at ease, absorbing essence and drawing in energy to irrigate the vermilion chamber. Now, I will present eight matters, the methods of which are fully described. Stretching, bending, and turning forward, bending and twisting—the Emperor and Empress practice these, and one should be careful not to violate them. This is recorded in the Great Classic."

The Yellow Emperor asked, "During intercourse, the woman experiences no pleasure, feels no arousal, and her vagina is neither lubricated nor produces any fluids. The man's penis is unable to achieve an erection, and is weak and feeble. What is the reason for this?"

The Mysterious Woman replied, "Yin and Yang correspond and generate each other. Therefore, a woman needs stimulation from a man to produce pleasurable sexual sensations. Similarly, a man cannot achieve an erection without stimulation from a woman. Under these circumstances, if the man wants to penetrate, the woman will certainly not be happy; conversely, if the woman wants to have intercourse, the man will also lack interest."

"When a man and woman are not in sync, neither can arouse the other's sexual desire. If they force intercourse and act roughly, it will naturally disgust the other. Conversely, if the man is interested and the woman is willing, they will be in sync, and the woman will naturally be aroused and charming. The man's penis will immediately become erect and irresistible. A little fluid will drip from the glans. At this time, the man should press on the clitoral hood and then insert his penis into the vagina. He can do so at his own pace. The woman's vagina can also cooperate by opening and closing. In this way, the woman can achieve great pleasure without expending too much effort."

"At this time, a man should absorb the woman's essence to replenish his strength. The eight techniques of intercourse—extension, contraction, thrusting, forward movement, and turning—are essential. I urge you to thoroughly understand and practice them, and never violate these principles." The Mystic Woman pointed out that during intercourse, if the partners' sexual desires differ, even if one partner is burning with passion, they cannot ignite the other's passion. Forcing intercourse will not only fail to bring pleasure but will also cause the other to feel aversion. She advised the Yellow Emperor to make good use of foreplay techniques, especially focusing on caressing important parts of the body,

particularly key areas related to meridians and acupuncture points. Chinese sexual techniques have always emphasized foreplay techniques to help women reach orgasm quickly and avoid wasting the man's energy. Furthermore, during intercourse, the frequency of friction should not be too fast. Movements should be slow to avoid excessive excitement and premature ejaculation. The woman's "Jade Gate" should be pressed and caressed, followed by pressure on the "GV26" area. The term "Yu Shu" (俞鼠) is a double entendre, with "Yu" meaning "empty boat" and "Shu" meaning "four-legged beast." It implies "a four-legged beast placed in a boat-shaped sacrificial vessel as a sacrifice," a metaphorical reference to the clitoris. This chapter primarily conveys two ideas: first, to stimulate erogenous zones; and second, to absorb the woman's vital energy to "replenish the brain."

Erogenous zones can be broadly categorized into external and internal erogenous zones. The *Su Nu Jing* (素女经) discusses this in depth and detail, as will be discussed in later chapters. As for whether internal or external stimulation is more effective for women, this is a matter of individual perception and experience. The *Su Nu Jing* indicates that external sensations are stronger and more sensitive than internal ones during arousal. This demonstrates the wisdom of our ancient sages. Therefore, modern people should not mistakenly believe that since the ultimate goal is sexual intercourse, external stimulation is unnecessary; this is a grave error.

The resulting in women being unable to reach orgasm and men being prone to premature ejaculation is an inevitable consequence of this kind of hasty and impulsive approach. As for "replenishing the brain with essence," using a woman's saliva to replenish a man's depleted essence, this practice is recognized by modern medicine. Dr. Ishihara of Japan pointed out that this method suggests a relationship between hormones, brain glands, and reproductive glands. Furthermore, this method of replenishing the brain with essence utilizes the intake of large amounts of air to ensure sufficient oxygenation, a method similar to the "Aerobic exercise" principle advocated by Dr. Kuba of the United States.

This chapter mentions "a strong penis, vigorous male...excessive semen," indicating the phenomenon of penile erection and the production of saliva. When people are excited, blood concentrates in the tiny blood vessels under the skin, causing blushing; the penis is similar. Its vascular structure is unique, composed of many connective tissues, arteries and veins, and non-striated muscles, called "erectile voxels," which can be aroused by the central nervous system or by touch.

Therefore, when a man thinks of erotic thoughts, his penis becomes erect, and it will also become engorged if a woman touches it. This is all a result of penile arousal and engorgement, hence the Western proverb, "Erection is the shame of the penis," which, though a metaphor, contains a profound truth. Erection is not unique to men; women experience it too, only the erectile hormones and engorgement are less obvious. In African gorillas, the engorgement of the clitoris and labia majora in females during sexual arousal is readily apparent and very noticeable. In humans, the clitoris is less developed, and the newly evolved mons pubis and labia majora make engorgement less visible.

Although it's not easy to see engorgement in women, it can still be detected through touch. This is because these areas of a woman's body are highly elastic, like a sponge. Once engorged with blood, this elasticity increases significantly. The vagina, including the uterus, is rich in blood vessels. Therefore, during sexual arousal, there is a high degree of congestion, which can be felt with the keen sense of touch of the fingers. This is comparable to penile erection. Besides erection, the penis also secretes a small amount of mucus from the urethra. These are small glands, of two types: the Lithocarpus and Lithocarpus glands. They are located near and connected to the urethra, and automatically secrete mucus during sexual arousal.

Ancient ascetic theologians knew the existence and significance of this mucus, understood that it was different from semen, and even knew that its discharge was evidence of lustful thoughts. The relationship between this phenomenon and sexual desire was also discovered in the Greco-Roman era. However, many modern people confuse it with semen, which is truly regrettable. Conversely, vaginal secretions in women are much more pronounced than in men. When the vagina is congested, it secretes a fluid that spreads and permeates the area around the vaginal opening.

This colorless and odorless liquid is naturally present, serving to lubricate the vagina both inside and out. However, during sexual activity, a larger amount is released, naturally to further lubricate the vagina, making penetration easier and smoother. This fluid is also essential for the fetus to pass through the vagina. This mucus is mostly secreted by glands located near the urethra, which are closely connected to the central nervous system.

Caressing is an art form .

Generally speaking, since women are passive in sexual activity, husbands should know that haste is unwelcome. Therefore, caressing should be guiding, not coercing. All caressing actions should begin with gentle expressions of love, starting with a deep, passionate kiss, then moving to caressing the breasts, stroking the muscles, and lightly touching the vulva. Proceed step by step, gradually increasing the intensity, always following the wife's psychological development, responding to her desire for caresses at the right time and in the right places. This is the art of caressing.

Caressing is an art form. Passionate wives with sexual experience usually have an erection in their clitoris before their husbands even begin to caress it. However, less experienced wives may require skillful stimulation to achieve an erection. When this pea-sized organ is gently stroked, it will immediately become erect, causing the foreskin to retract and expose the most sensitive part of the clitoral glans. If the husband is unsure or touches the wrong spot, the wife should guide his fingers to the correct location. She can also use subtle hints to suggest whether the current position is correct or if adjustments are needed. Through experience and hands-on observation of his wife's genitals, the husband will gradually grasp the art and technique of caressing, fully experiencing its effects on the clitoris, clitoral hood, urethral opening, vaginal opening, and inside the vagina.

Simultaneously, these finger-rubbing actions should be combined with kissing and sucking on the wife's lips or breasts, and should be interspersed with tender and considerate words to enhance the romantic atmosphere. These arousing actions should never be done in isolation; they should be performed in conjunction with various stimuli. Any response from the wife is commendable. When she is sufficiently stimulated and aroused, she will often automatically reach for her husband's penis. Under her caress, the husband's limp penis will gradually swell, at which point she will feel unparalleled pleasure. Generally, the husband's penis will become erect under the wife's manipulation.

Sometimes, extremely passionate wives will even use their mouths to hold their husband's penis or rub their clitoris against his erect penis, deriving pleasure from this. Although they don't do this before every sexual encounter, they at least try it sometimes. This method of stimulation usually brings the husband immense pleasure, but the stimulation can be too intense, often leading to premature orgasm and ejaculation. Therefore, the wife must know when to stop. She should only gently massage the base of her husband's penis with her palm or fingers, or only let the glans of his penis rub against her clitoris. In short, all methods of stimulation are primarily aimed at arousing the wife's sexual desire. Therefore, she should grasp the art of this, avoiding overexertion that could cause her husband to ejaculate prematurely, leaving her disappointed. When the husband explores his wife's vulva, if he lacks experience, the wife should guide his hand to the area that feels most satisfying.

The husband should also experiment with vaginal stimulation. The wife should also guide him to find the most sensitive areas. Some wives crave vaginal stimulation, some welcome clitoral stimulation, and some feel that both provide equal pleasure. This stimulation needs to continue until the wife is fully aroused and desires intercourse. At this point, she can remove her husband's hand, and the husband can decide whether his pre-coital stimulation of his wife is complete. Generally speaking, after a wife receives sufficient stimulation, her vulva and vaginal walls will be completely wet with lubricating fluid secreted by the glands in her vulva, sometimes even overflowing onto the outside of the labia. In this situation, the wife usually has a strong desire for intercourse, so the husband typically doesn't need to check her genitals' reaction to stimulation. While caressing is an important way to encourage a woman to prepare for intercourse, there are several things to be aware of. A woman's acceptance of caresses involves a psychological process.

If a husband, when wanting to have sex with his wife, immediately touches her genitals, this is very likely to cause her aversion, especially if his fingers are inserted deeply into the vagina. Not only will this cause her pain and concern about introducing bacteria, but because fingers, unlike the penis, can explore and reach places the penis cannot. In other words, the stimulation of the inner vaginal walls by fingers is greater than that by the penis. If this method is used frequently, it may divert the wife's interest in intercourse and even make her feel unsatisfied with normal intercourse, which would be counterproductive.

Prolonged foreplay can cause excessive secretion of vaginal fluid, exceeding the amount needed for intercourse. This reduces sexual stimulation and diminishes the satisfaction of the couple's sex life, and should not be ignored. During intercourse, except for the moment of orgasm when a wife may crave a more vigorous touch, she always desires tenderness and care. She wants to be loved, not just to provide sexual release; she wants him to love her body, but even more so, she craves his love for her soul. Therefore, foreplay that touches the whole body can satisfy this desire. If she prides herself on having a standard figure, and his foreplay misses one of her measurements, she may be disappointed. Therefore, during foreplay, whether it's hand caresses, face touching, lip kisses, breath exchange, genital contact, or even physical embracing, all are things women desire. The intensity should progress from top to bottom, from light to heavy, from loose to tight, from outside to inside, from gentle to passionate.

Section Eleven: Rules of Intercourse

The *Su Nu Jing* states that the Yellow Emperor said, "Does Yin and Yang have a proper method?" The *Su Nu Jing* says, "When the woman is about to engage in sexual intercourse, she should first have the woman relax her body and bend her legs. The man should then hold her mouth, suck her tongue, and pound her penis against her vulva from the east and west sides. After a short while, slowly insert the penis. If it is large, insert it one and a half inches; if small, insert it one inch. Do not move it. Slowly withdraw it and then reinsert it. This will eliminate all diseases. Do not allow it to leak out from the sides. When the penis enters the vulva, it will naturally generate heat. Quickly, the woman's body should automatically sway upwards to meet the man's desire. Then, penetrate deeply. All diseases of both men and women will be eliminated. Insert the penis three and a half inches into the vulva. Then close the mouth and insert one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine times." The text describes a woman's actions near a rock, where she inhales inhaled fragrance and performs a ritual called "Nine-Nine." It then mentions a story in the *Su Nu Jing* where

the Yellow Emperor asks, "Does the union of man and woman require a specific order?"

The Su Nu replies, "Before intercourse, the man should first calm the woman, making her lie flat with her legs bent and open. The man should then lie prone between her legs, kissing her lips and sucking on her tongue. He should use his hand to stroke his penis against her vulva and sides. After this foreplay, he should slowly insert his penis into her vagina."

"For men with large penises, insert one and a half inches; for men with small penises, insert about one inch. Do not move; slowly withdraw and then insert again. This will eliminate all ailments. During ejaculation, do not let it spill outside the vagina. After the penis is inserted into the vagina, it will naturally generate heat and excitement, leading to ejaculation. At this time, the woman will involuntarily sway her body, coordinating with the man's rhythm. At this moment, the man will then insert deeply, and all ailments of both men and women will be eliminated." "

Then, shallowly pierce the woman's clitoris, and then insert three and a half inches deeper. At the moment when the vagina is tight, count from one to nine, and then insert the penis to the deepest point, reaching the vestibular gland. During this in-and-out motion, the man and woman kiss the woman's lips, performing the nine-nine method. This is the order and principle of male-female intercourse."

The records in the *Su Nu Jing* (Classic of the Plain Girl) cannot help but inspire admiration in modern people. The Plain Girl understood that a woman's orgasm gradually rises, reaches its peak, and then slowly declines back to its original state. Therefore, she required men to engage in various foreplay before intercourse and to continue intercourse after ejaculation to allow the woman to gradually calm down. Su Nu's emphasis on the use of the lips is very insightful. The lips are a channel for stimulating the parasympathetic nervous system.

A French proverb says, "A woman should be skilled in cooking and bedroom arts." The reason this country particularly emphasizes cooking and intercourse is consistent with the ancient saying, "Food and sex are human nature." Because these two are, after all, the greatest desires of humankind! Regarding the size of the penis, the so-called "inch" here is not a unit of measurement, but a measurement used in acupuncture, specifically the length of the second joint of the middle finger. Men measure with their left hand, women with their right.

The former mentioned that the erogenous zones—the areas of sexual sensation—can be roughly divided into external and internal parts. Sexual organs can also be divided into external and internal organs. For example, the human external genitalia can be divided into the mons pubis, labia majora, labia minora, clitoris, vestibule, and hymen, etc. The mons pubis, also known as the pubic mound, is located below the lower abdomen and above the external genitalia. It has abundant subcutaneous fat, making it appear as a small hill, and

is covered with pubic hair. Beneath the muscle lies the mons pubis (part of a bone), which serves as one of the points of support for the man during intercourse. The labia majora are boat-shaped external genitalia, a pair of thick, raised areas with wrinkled skin, rich in subcutaneous fat, and covered with pubic hair. They can generate sexual desire when stimulated or pressed by the penis, but the level of pleasure is relatively low. The labia minora are located close to the inner side of the labia majora, consisting of two small, folded folds of skin, and do not grow pubic hair. In virgins, they are pale pink, becoming darker and more intense after sexual experience and childbirth. The two labia minora are connected above to the foreskin covering the clitoris and below to the vaginal opening. Due to the dense network of sensory nerves, they are extremely sensitive to sexual stimulation.

The Hottentot people of Africa consider larger labia minora to be more beautiful, and women often pull them themselves to increase their size to please men. The clitoris, also known as the vulva (as mentioned in the previous chapter), is a bean-sized, spongy protrusion located above the junction of the labia minora, similar to the male penis. It becomes engorged and erect when stimulated. It is a particularly sensitive area, more erogenous than the labia minora. The vestibule is a narrow, boat-shaped area surrounded by the labia minora. Its lower half contains the vaginal opening, and its upper half contains the urethral opening. Viewed from above the mons pubis, the sequence is: clitoris, urethral opening, vaginal opening, perineum, and anus.

There are three entrances and two erogenous zones (clitoris and perineum). The area between the perineum and anus is also an important erogenous zone. However, female masturbation mostly utilizes the urethra. The hymen is a thin, elastic mucous membrane that covers the vaginal opening. Even in virgins, the vaginal opening still has a gap about the thickness of a finger to allow menstrual flow. The hymen usually ruptures during first intercourse. However, it can also easily rupture during strenuous exercise or other accidental situations (such as horseback riding or cycling). Some hymens are highly resilient and elastic, remaining intact even after multiple sexual encounters. Therefore, using the hymen as a measure of virginity is extremely unwise. After repeated sexual intercourse or childbirth, the hymen will only leave remnants and eventually disappear.

The paravaginal ducts and vestibular glands are located in pairs on either side of the urethral opening (the former) and on either side of the vaginal opening (the latter). When stimulated, the labia minora open, and these three glands secrete a clear, odorless lubricating fluid. The author points out that the depth of penile insertion is tailored to the female anatomy. When stimulated by penile insertion, the vagina is forced to expand and then contracts to expel foreign objects. This tightening force comes from the pelvic floor muscles. In particular, the bulbospongiosus muscle and the vaginal wall contraction membrane (anal sphincter muscle) are involved. The outer third of the vaginal canal has a particularly strong contractile force, capable of powerfully constricting and compressing the penis, causing the man great pleasure and inducing ejaculation. Therefore, penile friction primarily targets this area of the vagina. Inside the vagina, the man's deep penetration and friction stimulate the peritoneum, leading to female orgasm. This is the physiological analysis of the order and rules of intercourse mentioned in the *Su Nu Jing* (Classic of the Plain Girl).

Section Twelve: The Ethics of Sexual Organs

The Yellow Emperor asked, "What are the Five Constants?" The Plain Girl replied, "The jade penis truly embodies the Five Constants. Living in seclusion, upholding integrity and self-discipline, cherishing virtue within, and practicing selflessly—this is the essence of benevolence. The emptiness within the jade penis represents self-control; its uprightness and restraint represent propriety; its willingness to act immediately and refrain from acting in accordance with propriety; its ability to lower and raise its head in response to events represents wisdom. Therefore, the True Man, through the Five Constants, regulates his benevolence. Though he desires to give, his essence is not firm; his righteousness lies in guarding its emptiness, which signifies restraint and preventing excessive fullness. Having followed the way of restraint, he should then give. Therefore, propriety is the measure of restraint. His sincerity and adherence to propriety are evident, and he will then understand the way of intercourse. Thus, by following the Five Constants, one can achieve longevity.

" The Yellow Emperor asked, "Why are they called the Five Constants?"

The Plain Girl answered, "The yang has five principles that must be upheld. In ordinary times, one should live in seclusion, upholding integrity and self-discipline, like a pure dwelling." A hermit, possessing the highest virtue, gives generously to others; this can be called benevolence. A clear path lies within; this can be called righteousness. A well-defined glans penis is called propriety. To rise and become erect when desire arises, and to cease abruptly when desire is no longer desired, this can be called trustworthiness. To calmly consider the proper conduct before intercourse is called wisdom.

Therefore, a virtuous person can use these five constant virtues to restrain sexual desire; this is the immutable law of intercourse. "Although one may desire to give to women out of benevolence, if insufficient energy prevents erection, one should uphold righteousness and restrain oneself honestly, lest excessive intercourse harm the body; this is the way of moderation."

"When one's physical condition is suitable for intercourse, one should treat it with propriety and sincerity, thus fully demonstrating trustworthiness. This also proves that one truly understands the way of intercourse. Therefore, those who can adhere to these five principles—benevolence, righteousness, propriety, wisdom, and trustworthiness—will enjoy health, happiness, and longevity." The explanation of "humanity" in the *Su Jing* is quite comprehensive. Humanity refers not only to the ability to reproduce and have intercourse, but also to morality. Besides emphasizing the techniques of intercourse for health purposes, the *Su Nu* also stressed the morality of intercourse, which is the correct way of Yin and Yang. Therefore, those who practice the art of the bedroom must cultivate the virtues of "benevolence, righteousness, wisdom, and trustworthiness."

Just as practitioners of martial arts such as judo, taekwondo, and swordsmanship must further refine their character. Confucius said, "Wisdom and sagacity," like an archer; the ability to shoot far is a manifestation of wisdom, while shooting far and hitting the target relies on sagacity. Comparing this to the art of the bedroom, while achieving pleasure and health through sexual intercourse is certainly wise, indulging in debauchery and harming one's partner for personal gain is a moral failing. Confucianism considers the relationship between husband and wife as the beginning of the "Five Relationships," and Su Nu (a Buddhist nun) considers the "Five Constant Virtues" as the beginning of the relationship between men and women—truly an enduring conclusion.

"Ren" (仁, benevolence) is about humanity. A man's spirit is about giving generously, and also about not doing to others what you would not have them do to you. At the climax of intercourse, the man releases his precious semen into the woman's body to fulfill the mission of procreation and the continuation of life, fully embodying the spirit of sacrificing the individual for the greater good. Although ejaculation is a loss, one should have the attitude that "the more one gives, the more one receives." Conversely, if the other party is unwilling to accept, one should not force them; this is the concrete manifestation of the spirit of "Ren." Confucius championed benevolence; when he was not understood by the world, he lived in seclusion; when he could serve the world, he selflessly contributed with a compassionate heart. Su Nu's use of this metaphor to describe the five constant virtues of men aligns perfectly with Confucianism.

"Righteousness" (义) means appropriateness. All actions should prioritize suitability, avoiding excess. When one's energy and strength are insufficient for intercourse, one should not act rashly or recklessly, forcing intercourse and causing physical harm, ultimately violating righteousness. Confucianism advocates, "Accept a light beating, but flee from a heavy one," telling children that if they anger their parents and are punished, they should accept a light beating, but if a heavy beating might injure them, they should quickly flee to avoid causing injury and tarnishing their parents' reputation for injustice. The same principle applies to sexual intercourse. Sexual intercourse is permissible, but not essential. If it violates righteousness, it is better not to engage in it.

"Propriety" (礼) means reason. The proverb says, "Even in the most intimate moments, like husband and wife, mutual respect is essential; this is the way of human relationships." Sexual intercourse inherently carries the sacred mission of procreation. A superficial view holds that sexual intercourse between men and women is merely the release of sexual desire. In reality, life is inherently endowed with the capacity for reproduction, and the endocrine system further motivates this desire to be expressed and satisfied. Animals, for example, are driven by sexual impulses to pursue mates during spring and autumn, or spring and autumn, to achieve the purpose of reproduction. If this is also considered lust, then what about the flowers of plants, with their pistils and stamens, which achieve pollination through various means (such as wind, insects, and water)? Do they also experience lust?

Therefore, behind human sexual desire lies a powerful force for the propagation of the species—a force that is sacred and ancient, a human right and a human obligation. When people engage in sexual intercourse, they are fulfilling this sacred task; therefore, the interaction between men and women should not be regarded as promiscuity, much less descend into promiscuity. To avoid promiscuity, one should adhere to propriety.

Propriety and moderation are combined to form the term "etiquette." The principle of etiquette lies in moderation. Moderation means restraint and not excess. The essence of sexual intercourse between men and women lies in this respect. True sexual pleasure, like the joy of lovers, can only be achieved on the basis of mutual respect.

"Trust" means sincerity. Consistency between words and deeds, being able to act on one's words and actions, being one inside and out. If there is intention for intercourse, one can achieve a firm erection; otherwise, one can cease abruptly. This is what it means to say what you mean and do what you say, and to act with integrity. The world knows of Liu Xiahui remaining unmoved even with a beautiful woman in his lap, not because he was impotent, but because he was a gentleman who valued integrity above all else and disdained promiscuity. Regardless of gender, upholding integrity and maintaining moral principles is the best expression of trustworthiness. "Wisdom" means knowledge. Deep thought and careful consideration are not only signs of intelligence but also maturity. The "Women's Classic" warns men against acting rashly and impulsively upon seeing a woman. Sun Tzu's Art of War also says, "Know yourself and know your enemy, and you will win every battle." Here, "knowledge" is the best explanation of the art of the bedroom.

Section Thirteen: The Measurement of Female Sexual Sensuality

The Yellow Emperor asked, "How can one know if a woman is experiencing pleasure?" Su Nu replied, "There are five signs, five desires, and ten movements. By observing these signs, one can know whether a woman is experiencing pleasure and what kind of caresses she needs." The five major signs are: 1. When the face is flushed, slowly close the mouth; 2. When the breasts are firm and the nose is sweaty, slowly insert the penis; 3. When the penis is dry and the saliva is swallowed, slowly move it; 4. When the vagina is slippery, slowly deepen the caresses; 5. When the buttocks are moist, slowly draw the penis in. The Yellow Emperor asked, "What are the signs of female pleasure?"

Su Nu answered, "When a woman experiences pleasure, she will display various signs, which are called the five signs, five desires, and ten movements. By observing these signs, one can know whether a woman is experiencing pleasure and what kind of caresses she needs."

"Five signs of a woman's sexual response:

1. When her cheeks are flushed, a man can gently place his penis on her mons pubis.

I exercise! I'm healthy! 2. When her nipples are firm and her nose is sweaty, slowly insert your penis into her mons pubis.

3. When her throat and lips are dry and she swallows saliva, slowly sway and move your penis around her vulva.

4. When her vagina is lubricated, slowly and methodically insert your penis deeply.

5. When a large amount of saliva flows down her buttocks, gradually withdraw your penis." This

is because Su Nu not only points out various sexual responses in women but also teaches men to act accordingly based on their partner's reactions. Because female orgasm is slower and takes longer, men must perform actions of varying depths to satisfy her needs and help her reach the peak of orgasm. The entire plan is meticulously designed.

While individual physiological responses may differ, and expressions may vary in degree, the fundamental principles remain the same: female sexual responses are generally similar. If a man can observe carefully, seize the opportunity, and employ appropriate tactics, he will surely defeat his enemy and achieve victory in every endeavor. The female sexual response, including vaginal secretions, has already been mentioned in the previous chapter; here, we will only briefly describe phenomena such as flushed cheeks and sweating. During intercourse, two groups of phenomena are particularly noticeable:

the circulatory and respiratory systems, and muscle movements. In fact, these two groups are inseparable. Breathing during intercourse is shallow, rapid, and intermittent, causing the blood to turn purple, meaning venous activity is higher than arterial activity. This stimulates the vasomotor center, raising overall blood pressure, especially the blood pressure of erectile dysfunction. The increase in blood pressure during intercourse is a significant phenomenon.

According to Poussep's observations, the rapid and astonishing conversion of vasoconstriction and relaxation during mating in animals involves the entire body and brain. The heart rate increases, and the arteries visible in the skin become more bulging. The conjunctiva or optic lining of the eyes also reddens. Glandular function also tends to intensify across the board, with significant increases and decreases in the amount of various secretions.

All skin tissues work harder, resulting in increased sweating, a stronger odor mixed with perspiration, and increased secretions such as underarm odor. Saliva production in the mouth also increases significantly, and kidney work also intensifies. In the second group of muscle movements, voluntary muscle activity decreases, while involuntary muscle activity not only increases but also becomes more widespread and disordered.

For example, the bladder contracts during intercourse, but due to differences in male and female anatomy, the effect is opposite. Men often experience temporary urination after penile erection. Women, however, not only experience an increased urge to urinate but often involuntarily urinate. Other involuntary movements include trembling, throat constriction, dry mouth and lips, sneezing, flatulence, and others. When a woman's libido is heightened, the cervix (vagina) undergoes rhythmic contractions and relaxations, accompanied by the release of copious amounts of mucus. These are all common phenomena of muscle movements during intercourse. During intercourse, men's facial expressions often appear particularly vigorous and energetic, while women appear more radiant, lovely, and glowing.

As climax approaches, both partners undergo changes in appearance: pupils dilate, nostrils flare, saliva involuntarily flows, and the tongue moves involuntarily. In short, this signifies the satisfaction of sensual desire, an almost impatient anticipation before it arrives.

Some animals even perk up their ears. At this moment, people often murmur fragmented, meaningless words, call each other's names, and utter pleasurable moans. Due to photophobia caused by dilated pupils, people always keep their eyes closed during intercourse or kissing. At this time, the eye muscles become highly active, the upper eyelid muscles contract, causing the eyeballs to appear larger, particularly bright and clear. After climax, this pleasure permeates the entire body, and its powerful impact can sometimes have serious effects.

Men are more affected than women because the latter's decline in libido is more gradual and less pronounced, which can be considered a natural safeguard for women. Men experiencing their first sexual intercourse often experience dizziness, vomiting, urinary incontinence, or defecation after ejaculation. Those with epilepsy may also have seizures. In some cases, internal organ rupture and bleeding may occur. In older men, arteries may rupture due to high blood pressure; if the rupture occurs in the brain, it can lead to cerebral hemorrhage, stroke, or hemiplegia.

Elderly men who marry young women or frequent prostitutes may sometimes die from sexual misconduct. Of course, these phenomena are rare unless the individual has exceptionally fragile nerves, poor sexual health, or neglects basic sexual knowledge and hygiene. Generally speaking, reaching orgasm during intercourse is beneficial to both body and mind. It is a very natural process and a wonderful function of the body. Even for someone who is not very healthy, there will be no adverse effects. As long as the environment is suitable and it is done in moderation, this process can be considered entirely beneficial.

Because it can eliminate the tension accumulated in desire, lower blood pressure, and restore the normal state of the muscle system. It provides spiritual satisfaction, a feeling of complete tranquility, a comfortable and lazy mood, a liberated mind, a sense of freedom from all worries, and the joy of a world in full bloom—a joy that is difficult to describe in words. Sexual intercourse not only achieves the purpose of reproduction and fulfills the mission of the species, but also has its own function of maintaining and cultivating the individual's physical and mental health.

Section Fourteen: Female Physiological Needs.

Su Nu said that the five desires are used to understand their corresponding responses: First, when a woman desires to be embraced, she will hold her breath. Second, when she desires yin, her nose and mouth will open wide. Third, when a woman desires semen, she will shake and embrace the man. Fourth, when a woman desires fullness, she will sweat profusely and wet her clothes. Fifth, when a woman's desire is intense, her body will straighten and her eyes will close. Su Nu continued, "The five desires are the different actions and reactions a woman has during sexual intercourse, depending on the degree of her sexual desire. From this, a man can judge the degree of her pleasure."

The five desires of a woman:

First, when a woman desires to be embraced, she will hold her breath and wait.

2. When the genitals require stimulation, the nostrils and lips will open and close.

3. When vaginal fluids flow and desire surges, the body will vibrate and the woman will tightly embrace the man.

4. Upon reaching orgasm and experiencing pleasurable satisfaction, the woman will be drenched in sweat, her clothes soaked through.

5. If extreme pleasure is reached, the woman will feel as if she is in heaven, her body will feel like it's floating on clouds, her soul will ascend, her body will be upright with eyes closed, and she will be intoxicated by a blissful state without realizing it. The union of Yin and Yang, Yin

being still and Yang being active, Yin receiving from Yang. This applies not only to humans but to the vast majority of animals in nature. A woman's sexual desire is rather passive, requiring a man to initiate and guide it. Therefore, a man must not only arouse and strengthen a woman's sexual desire but also skillfully use methods to help her reach a complete climax. A woman's need for sex is not absent or weak, but it is naturally more subtle and less obvious.

However, clues can be found in her actions. As for a woman's needs in this regard, it is undeniable that they are not much different from a man's. Women who have had sexual intercourse naturally have a desire and hope for sexual intercourse with men. Even women who have never had sexual intercourse will use stroking or being stroked of their body parts as a substitute for sexual satisfaction. Dr. Masatoshi Sugai of Sugai Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital in Meguro Ward, Tokyo, Japan, conducted an extensive survey and found that the sexual experience of women and men before their first sexual intercourse was as follows:

(1) Pulling water……………………………65.9%

(2) Kissing………………………………66.3%

(3) Touching breasts…………………………35.7%

(4) Touching female genitals……………………25.0%

(5) Touching male genitals……………………11.7%

(6) Kissing male genitals……………………2.6%

(7) Kissing female genitals……………………2.0%

show that women not only have the desire to be caressed, but also the impulse to actively caress men. For some, especially women, the tactile sensation of caressing is sufficient to provide adequate pleasure and satisfaction before or when intercourse is not yet possible.

Touch is a prominent part of a woman's emotional life. Lilian Martin's research on the aesthetic emotions of female university students found that their tactile emotions were more pronounced than other emotions. At the age of sexual awakening, a woman's expressed sexual desires are generally not for intercourse, but for simpler tactile behaviors such as kissing or hugging. This is also true for married women or women with sexual experience.

Many famous writers have written in their novels: "Although she tried her best to resist and struggle to break free from his embrace, it was clear that her goal was simply to increase the points, surfaces, and lines of contact between him and her as much as possible." The poet Renee Vivien said: "The art of touch is mysterious and complex; it holds an equal place with the dreamlike fragrance and the miracle of sound." This statement, coming from a woman, is especially worthy of our attention. The author, Su Nu, deeply understood women's sensitivity to touch, and thus repeatedly emphasized the importance of caressing in her works on sexual techniques. Therefore, the first point listed in this chapter is a full-body embrace, the second is the caressing of the genitals, and the third and subsequent points are vaginal friction. Finally, it naturally leads to the climax of orgasm.

Section Fifteen: Signs of Female Desire

Su Nu said: The effects of the ten movements are: 1. When a woman embraces a man with both hands, she wants to hold him tightly so that their genitals touch. 2. Extending her legs is to stimulate the upper part of her vulva. 3. Opening her abdomen is to stimulate the release of fluids. 4. Moving her buttocks is to stimulate pleasure. 5. Raising her legs to hold the man is to stimulate the depth of his ejaculation. 6. Crossing her thighs is to stimulate the flow of fluids in her vagina. 7. Swaying to the side is to stimulate the depth of her genitals. 8. Raising her body is to stimulate the man's pleasure. 9. Spreading her body is to stimulate the body. 10. The slippery vaginal fluid is to indicate that the ejaculation has occurred. These effects indicate the woman's pleasure.

Su Nu said: The symbolism of the ten movements of a woman is: 1. When a woman embraces a man with both hands, she wants to hold him tightly so that their genitals touch. 2. Extending her thighs is to stimulate the upper part of her vulva. 3. Opening her abdomen is to stimulate the man's ejaculation. 4. Moving her buttocks shows... The woman is already experiencing pleasure. Fifth, bending her legs and hooking them around the man's body indicates a desire for deeper penetration. Sixth, crossing her thighs and legs signifies uncontrollable lust within the vagina. Seventh, swaying her waist to the side, she desires deeper penetration and swaying from side to side . Eighth, bending upwards and clinging tightly to the man indicates she is on the verge of orgasm. Ninth, stretching her entire body vertically shows that her limbs and bones have reached the peak of pleasure. Tenth, the flow of vaginal fluid indicates she has reached the peak of sexual pleasure and completed orgasm. From these ten actions of the woman, one can see the degree of her pleasure. Although Su Nu listed the "Five Signs," "Five Desires," and "Ten Movements," discovering various postures and reactions of women during intercourse, it does not mean that every woman will have this process or reaction. It varies from person to person; sometimes, even the same person will have differences and inconsistencies.

Especially for women whose senses are scattered, individual differences are significant, resulting in inconsistent actions. While there is a certain process for women to reach orgasm from the initial stages of intercourse, in actual intercourse, not every woman can successfully achieve orgasm. There are many reasons for this, as mentioned in previous chapters. Married women, in particular, find it more difficult and harder to reach orgasm.

This is because they have to care for their husbands, raise children, manage household chores, and if they are also working women, the combined burdens leave them physically and mentally exhausted, making it less likely for them to achieve orgasm during intercourse. Men's lives typically revolve largely outside the home, and they hold a more detached position regarding family life and relationships. Within a man's sphere of activity, the family occupies only a small portion. And within this small portion, he doesn't need to be very active, only needing to rest. Therefore, when a couple engages in intercourse, the man's attitude is often one of release, relaxation, and enjoyment.

Combined with physiological responses, this makes it easy for him to reach orgasm. Women, however, cannot do so with such leisure and ease. They have many concerns, especially regarding childbirth, and the pressures of population and economics leave them feeling overwhelmed. Furthermore, due to differences in female physiology, women's libido rises more slowly, making it difficult to reach orgasm. Thus, the couple's inability to coordinate orgasms, with men ejaculating prematurely, not only leads to sexual dissatisfaction but also psychological problems for both partners.

Women, frequently unsatisfied, are prone to self-pity and emotional distress, even experiencing frigidity or sexual dysfunction. They feel out of place in daily life, leading to frequent sexual conflicts and ultimately becoming a resentful couple. As for men, frequent premature ejaculation severely damages their self-esteem, causing feelings of guilt and leading to avoidance behaviors or defensive actions, resulting in strong resistance to the woman's words and actions. In this stalemate, neither side is willing to compromise, naturally leading to family tragedy.

According to a survey by Dr. Davis, an American medical doctor, 116 out of 1,000 generally considered married women to be "normal" believed that the main reason for their marital unhappiness was sexual incompatibility. Another philosopher, Emerson, studied women visiting his clinic and found that two-fifths of the 1,000 women surveyed were dissatisfied with their sex lives. Dr. Hamilton conducted a more detailed analysis, using a smaller sample of both men and women, all of whom were considered "normal."

He categorized satisfaction or happiness into fourteen levels based on the points each person received. He found that men were significantly more satisfied than women. In the highest levels of satisfaction (levels seven to fourteen), 51 men and only 45 women were satisfied. The remaining 49 men and 55 women were in lower levels of satisfaction. Dr. Hamilton believed this conclusion closely matched his personal observations.

Therefore, the conclusion is drawn that "generally speaking, women's disappointment in marriage is more severe than men's." After reviewing the above research report, we find that while there are many apparent reasons for unhappy couples, "sexual incompatibility" is probably the most significant underlying factor. Therefore, in seeking proper sexual behavior and a healthy sex life, one should deeply understand and diligently practice the knowledge recorded in the *Su Nu Jing* (Classic of Plain Girl).

Section Sixteen: Sexual Life as Seen Through Toe Movements

The *Xuan Nu Jing* records that the Yellow Emperor, desiring constant intercourse, could force himself to have sex if his penis could not become erect. The Xuan Nu replied, "No! The way of intercourse is that the man must be in the four stages of erection, and the woman must be in the nine stages of qi." The Yellow Emperor asked, "What are the four stages?" The Xuan Nu replied, "If the penis is not erect, then..." The *Xuan Nu Jing* states that the penis should not be aroused; if it is not aroused, it will not be large; if it is large, it will not be firm; if it is large, it will not be hot; if the spirit is not present

, then the essence will not be clear. Therefore, arousal is the clarity of essence, largeness is the space between essences, firmness is the gateway of essence, and heat is the entrance to essence. The four stages of qi, bone qi, and firmness, should be regulated by the way. Opening the mechanism without recklessness will prevent the essence from leaking out." The *Xuan Nu Jing* records that the Yellow Emperor asked, "I have always wanted to have intercourse, but my penis cannot become erect. Can I force myself to have sex?"

The Xuan Nu replied, "No! During intercourse, the man must be in the four stages of erection, and the woman must be in the nine stages of qi to have intercourse.

" The Yellow Emperor then asked, "What are the four stages for the man?"

The Xuan Nu replied, "If the penis is not aroused, then... " "Insufficient energy reserves; an erect but not hard penis indicates insufficient muscle strength;

a hard but not firm penis indicates insufficient tendon strength; a firm but not hot penis indicates insufficient internal strength. Therefore, an erect penis signifies pent-up energy ready to be unleashed and high morale; a hard penis signifies a strong army ready to attack;

a firm penis signifies being ready to pounce and conquer; a hot penis signifies a boiling cauldron, irresistible."

Su Nu then specifically mentioned: "Even if harmony, muscle strength, bone strength, and spirit are all present, do not be reckless and waste your vital energy. You should know the way of moderation, not to initiate intercourse indiscriminately, and not to ejaculate excessively during intercourse."

The Yellow Emperor's weak erection is probably a common problem for most men in today's busy society. While the strength of a man's energy is closely related to innate factors (such as heredity, race, diet, and lifestyle), acquired training can change these influences.

Readers may have experienced this while traveling globally: some hotels and restaurants always provide male condoms in their bathroom facilities. In hotels in East Asian or rice-eating countries, there are usually one or two condoms. In Europe and America, there are often more than half a dozen. This suggests that European and American men are generally more sexually capable. Of course, there are also East Asian men who are more sexually capable than their Western counterparts; this is just a general observation.

When a man's masculinity reaches zero, it may be when the woman is unable to be satisfied. The two men watch helplessly as the "jade stem" hangs limply like a stiff silkworm, reminiscent of Xiang Yu, the King of Chu, at his end. Such shame can drive a man to the brink of suicide. Ancient Chinese medicine has secret remedies for this kind of impotence.

Ancient sages discovered that "the toes can affect sexual ability." The body's meridians run from the tendons of the five toes up the ankle and knee, through the thigh and buttocks, directly to the genitals. If the toes lack the ability to flex and extend properly, it will affect the strength of the sexual organs, eventually leading to atrophy and impotence. Furthermore, the liver and tendons of the feet are closely related.

Once the liver becomes diseased and its function deteriorates, the meridians malfunction, making it difficult for the toes to flex and extend, consequently affecting the sexual organs, causing them to atrophy and become weak, resulting in impotence. Among the five toes, due to their meridian pathways, they are closely related to the liver, kidneys, stomach, and gallbladder. Therefore, although the key to impotence lies in the feet, the indirect influences are numerous. The ancient method of observing the toes (the foot's center) uses the big toe to diagnose the spleen and liver, the second toe to determine the stomach and heart, the middle toe to observe the stomach and spleen, the ring toe to observe the gallbladder and lungs, and the little toe to observe the bladder and kidneys.

By observing the deformities of the toes (bent, swollen, small, stiff), one can know the state of the functions of the five internal organs, allowing for early treatment and elimination of diseases. Conversely, if the ankles are frequently bent and the toes are constantly flexed and extended, not only will the internal organs be healthy, but the penis will also grow stronger and more powerful. Women with slender legs or short, thick calves are often sexually weak.

This is because the tendons in the feet that connect to the genitals are restricted and cannot move fully. The only remedy is to do more toe flexion and extension exercises. As mentioned in the previous chapters, the method of forging the penis is "death and rebirth," which was first recorded in "The Secret of the Jade Chamber."

If you follow that method, after about ten days, the penis will be as hard as an iron rod and as hot as a torch, becoming an invincible weapon. Many ancient books and novels also mention forging the penis. During the Northern and Southern Dynasties, Empress Hu, the favorite of Emperor Wucheng, had sexual relations with the Western Region monk Tanxian. Tanxian was extremely skilled in qi cultivation and forged a penis as hard as steel. During intercourse, it can expand and contract freely, shrinking like a eunuch after castration, almost invisible.

When extended, it bulges and stretches, reaching up to twenty centimeters in length, thick, hot, and scorching to the touch. It is said that in the late Taisho period of Japan, there was a group of porters called "Aino" in the Osaka region who possessed remarkable sexual stamina, able to maintain intercourse until dawn. Even prostitutes were frightened away by their presence, fleeing through the back door. Apparently, they had a special method of penile training: using an iron weight, similar to a scale weight, suspended from the penis, never removed except during intercourse and urination. The weight was tied to the penis with a rope, making it appear as if it had three testicles.

Section Seventeen: Important Processes in the Bedroom

The *Xuan Nu Jing* states that the Yellow Emperor asked, "Excellent! How do you know the nine qi of a woman?" The Xuan Nu replied, "Observe the nine qi to know them. When a woman breathes deeply and swallows saliva, it indicates the arrival of lung qi; when she moans and sucks, it indicates the arrival of heart qi; when she embraces and holds, it indicates the arrival of spleen qi; when her vulva is smooth and moist, it indicates the arrival of kidney qi; when she is diligent and affectionate, it indicates the arrival of bone qi; when her feet are firm, it indicates the arrival of tendon qi; when she caresses her vulva, it indicates the arrival of blood qi; when she plays with a man's breasts, it indicates the arrival of flesh qi. When a man engages in intercourse,

he plays with the flesh to arouse his desire. All nine qi must arrive; if any do not arrive, it will cause injury. Therefore, if they do not arrive, one can follow the prescribed method to treat it." The *Xuan Nu Jing* records that the Yellow Emperor asked, "I understand the four arrivals of a man, so what are the nine qi of a woman?"

The Xuan Nu replied, "The nine qi of a woman are not difficult to observe, and are described as follows:

rapid breathing and swallowing saliva indicate that the lung qi is full;

low moans and kissing a man indicate that the heart qi is full." "When the Qi is full;

embracing tightly with arms indicates that the Spleen Qi is full;

a moist, misty genital area indicates that the Kidney Qi is full;

a diligent and eager expression, biting the man, indicates that the Bone Qi is full;

bending the legs and hooking them around the man's thighs indicates that the Tendon Qi is full;

gently stroking the penis with soft hands indicates that the Blood Qi is full;

being confused and caressing the man's breasts indicates that the Flesh Qi is full;

frequently engaging in intercourse with a woman, stroking her clitoris (the clitoral hood), and observing her nine Qi, it is essential to wait until the time is ripe and the conditions are right before engaging in intercourse. Otherwise, physical and mental harm will result. If there are signs of insufficient Qi, the Nine-Nine Method (see Chapter Twelve) should be used for treatment." Men have four energies, and women have nine Qi. The four energies and nine Qi are complementary. As early as the time of Xuan Nu, she discovered the characteristics of sexual responses in men and women and taught the ancients that when men and women engage in intercourse, they must consider each other's physiological responses. The idea that intercourse should only occur when the timing is right and the time is ripe is a very wise insight when considered in modern medicine. Dr. Kinsey of the United States also presented similar clinical reports. If both partners disregard this natural sexual response and engage in intercourse before the time is right, inconsistent orgasms can lead to premature ejaculation in one party, often causing physical and psychological harm. The previous chapter mentioned the close relationship between internal organs and toes. Here, let's further explore the relationship between internal organs and the five senses.

Traditional Chinese medicine has found that the lungs react in the nose; the heart in the tongue; the spleen in the mouth; the kidneys in the ears; and the liver in the eyes. Therefore, when a woman's nine vital energies are abundant, they will naturally manifest in her actions.

For example, abundant lung energy will result in rapid breathing and swallowing; abundant heart and kidney energy will cause low moans and tongue movements; abundant kidney energy will cause the genitals to secrete mucus for lubrication; abundant bone energy will cause the teeth to feel like biting, and so on…

Unfortunately, although the *Xuan Nu Jing* mentions "nine qi," it only explicitly records eight, missing one. This is likely due to the absence of the liver. Besides its close relationship with the five senses, according to the *Huangdi Neijing Suwen*, "Heaven nourishes man with the five qi, and earth nourishes man with the five flavors." The five flavors affect the five internal organs; therefore, one should not consume too much of sour, sweet, bitter, spicy, or salty

foods, otherwise the internal organs will be damaged. For example, excessive sourness leads to wrinkled skin and peeling lips; excessive sweetness leads to bone pain and hair loss; excessive bitterness leads to dry skin and hair loss; excessive spicyness leads to muscle tension and dry nails; and excessive saltiness leads to poor blood circulation and poor complexion. The five flavors nourish the five internal organs, but excessive consumption harms them. Which five organs do the five flavors nourish?

Sourness benefits the liver. Eating sour foods easily generates saliva, which strengthens the liver. When the liver is overactive, it affects the spleen. Damage to the spleen causes wrinkled skin and peeling lips; in more severe cases, it can lead to spinal curvature and difficulty urinating. Because the liver belongs to wood, the kidneys to water, and the spleen to earth, wood controls earth. Sweetness benefits the spleen, but excessive sweetness harms the kidneys, causing shortness of breath, bone aches, and hair loss. This is because the spleen belongs to earth and the kidneys to water, and water controls earth. Bitterness benefits the heart, but excessive bitterness harms the lungs, causing dry skin and hair loss. This is because the heart belongs to fire and the lungs to metal, and fire controls metal.

Spicy flavors benefit the lungs, but excessive spicy flavors harm the liver, leading to muscle spasms, dry nails, and lethargy. This is because the lungs belong to metal and the liver to wood, and metal controls wood. Salty flavors benefit the kidneys, but excessive salt intake harms the heart, causing poor blood circulation and poor complexion. This is because the kidneys belong to water and the heart to fire, and water controls fire. The characteristic of ancient Chinese sexual techniques lies in using sexual intercourse to achieve both pleasure and health. Therefore, it particularly emphasizes the four cardinal points of men and the nine vital energies of women. Firstly, it is hoped that both men and women can reach orgasm and enjoy the pleasure of sex; secondly, it is hoped that both partners' senses and internal organs can be fully activated and fulfill their proper functions. Therefore, the Mysterious Woman said that if the nine qi do not arrive, it is easy to harm the body and ruin the appearance, and it is necessary to use the Nine-Nine Method to cure it and save it.

Section 18, one of the nine methods - Dragon Turning.

The Mysterious Woman Classic says: The Yellow Emperor said: I have never heard of the nine methods mentioned. I wish to explain them to open my mind. I went to the stone chamber to walk. The method is mysterious.

The woman said:

The first of the nine methods is Dragon Turning.

The woman lies upright facing upwards, and the man lies on top of her, hidden on the bed. The woman raises her vulva to receive the jade stem, which pierces the hub and attacks the top. The movements are gentle and shaking, eight shallow and two deep. Death and life return, the momentum is strong and powerful. The woman will be aroused and happy, like a prostitute. She will close herself off and all diseases will disappear.

The *Xuan Nu Jing* records that the Yellow Emperor asked, "You once said there are nine techniques for sexual intercourse. Please explain them one by one in detail, so that I may compile them into a book, keep them safe, and practice their secret methods."

The Xuan Nu replied, "The first is called 'Dragon Turns.'" "The woman lies face up, and the man lies prone on top of her, his buttocks between her legs.

The woman's vulva receives the penis, which pierces the clitoris and attacks the upper part of the vulva. Then, during penetration, gently rock the penis, using the method of eight shallow thrusts and two deep thrusts. When the penis is erect, withdraw it; when it softens slightly, insert it again, following the principle of 'death goes, life returns,' so the penis will become stronger day by day; the woman will experience unparalleled pleasure, her passion will surge. The vagina will tighten, and all diseases will be eliminated."

Of the nine methods, "Dragon Turns" is the first. This is because this position, with the woman on the bottom and the man on top, is suitable for everyone and is the position most people use. During intercourse, the man's hands and knees are bent to support his body, resembling a dragon, hence the name "Dragon Turns." The "turning" refers to the dragon's movement. Sexual intercourse consists of rhythmic movements of up-and-down motions and side-to-side friction. The "eight shallow, two deep, ancient to the left, death to life" principle advocated in traditional Chinese sexual techniques is perfectly suited to the "dragon-turning" position. Therefore, readers are encouraged to utilize the dragon-turning position to fulfill the requirements of the

*Su Nu Jing* (Classic of the Plain Girl). Among the nine methods, there is a particular emphasis on stimulating the woman's external genitalia. For example, this chapter mentions "piercing the valley," which refers to stimulating the clitoris (or vulva) with the hand or penis. This is because it is the most sensitive area for a woman; deliberate caressing can quickly increase her libido, leading to orgasm and satisfaction. In the "dragon-turning" position, the man is on top of the woman, providing her with the pleasure of being in the act of intercourse.

The woman's breasts and mons pubis, facing forward, bear the pressure of the man, creating a tactile pleasure of skin-to-skin contact. For the man, being on top of the woman satisfies his "desire to conquer." This subconscious sense of superiority resides throughout the man's mind. Although unspoken, a sadistic tendency is evident during intercourse, thus enhancing the pleasure and enjoyment of the act.

If this psychology develops abnormally, it becomes "virginity-breaking" mania. Many obese individuals, spending hundreds or thousands of times more than the cost of prostitution, under the arrangement of greedy brothel owners, specifically choose virgins for their "deflowering" night, indulging in extreme sadistic behavior. The "dragon-turning" position is not only a common position used by Chinese people but also a traditional position explored by people around the world. Westerners call it the "Cupid's gaze position." This name alone reveals how highly it is revered. Just as the *Xuan Nu Jing* (a classic text on love) mentions it alongside the "dragon," the dragon, a divine creature symbolizing good fortune, shares a similar connotation with the sublime and sacred meaning of "Cupid."

Section Nineteen, Method Two – Tiger Step.

The second step is to have the woman kneel with her buttocks raised and head tilted back, while the man kneels behind her, embracing her abdomen, and then inserts his penis into her. He must be extremely careful, making sure to move deeply and closely, advancing and retreating in a series of five or eight movements. When the woman's vagina is fully open and her semen overflows, she will rest, and all diseases will be prevented, while the man will become more vigorous.

"The second method is called Tiger Step."

The Mystic Woman continued, "The woman lies face down, buttocks raised, head down. The man kneels behind her, hands around her waist and abdomen, inserting his penis as far as possible. He thrusts in and out rapidly, about forty times, controlling the movement as needed. When the woman's vagina contracts and tightens, and her fluids flow, he can stop and rest quietly. This will prevent all illnesses, and the man will be even stronger."

In this position, the man resembles a tiger crouching behind its prey, its eyes fixed on the prey, ready to seize it at any moment; hence the name "Tiger Step," a very vivid description. In evolutionary history, all the higher animals closest to humans have mated in that the male goes behind the female to mate.

It was only with humans that the face-to-face, orthogonal, method of intercourse gradually emerged. Therefore, when a man and woman adopt, or when the man suggests, this "Tiger Step" position, both will immediately experience a primal stimulation. This stimulation can quickly increase mutual libido, making it a very valuable position.

Children often curiously watch two dogs mating. While adults, both men and women, immediately understand what's happening, the mating posture leaves a deep impression, and they often wonder about the pleasure it brings. Most women, perhaps due to shyness, will refuse sexual positions other than the traditional (dragon-flip) method, let alone be encouraged to suggest them. Therefore, variations in position rely on the man's initiative and guidance.

From behind, the man can fully appreciate the woman's rounded shoulders, smooth back, slender waist, and full buttocks; the double S-shaped curves are even more alluring from behind. The advantage of the tiger-step position is that the man doesn't need to support his body with both hands; the free hand can be used to caress the breasts, grasp the waist, and rub the perineum. During thrusting, he can tightly embrace the woman's waist and thrust forcefully all the way to the vagina. He can also use both hands to swing the woman's hips, coordinating with the left-right movement of his penis.

Therefore, the flexible attack of the penis is the greatest characteristic of the tiger-step position. However, it is particularly important to note that in this position, both the vulva and anus are exposed. If a careless man inserts his penis into the wrong opening, the pain of such a large penis entering the anus can easily ruin the enjoyable atmosphere of intercourse.

In the "tiger stance" position, although the clitoris cannot receive the rubbing satisfaction of the penis, the penis can penetrate deeper into the vagina, which compensates for this. Simultaneously, the woman can enjoy the pleasure of easily swaying from side to side in sync with the man's rhythm. While caressing the woman's ample genitals, the man cannot help but admire the beauty of motherhood and the magnificent characteristics of womanhood. The international aesthetic standard requiring the hips to be two centimeters larger than the bust is not only based on aesthetics but also stems from the consciousness of racial reproduction.

The admiration for large hips primarily reflects the fundamental conditions and location of the fetus within the maternal tract. Large hips and a large pelvis are necessary to give birth to infants with larger heads, and superior races invariably have larger heads. Furthermore, the world's most advanced races are also characterized by large hips.

Section 20, the third of the nine methods—Ape Play.

The third method is: In Ape Play, the woman lies supine, the man supports her thighs and abdomen, then her chest, buttocks, and back are all raised. Then, the man inserts his penis, piercing her. The woman, annoyed, shakes her, and her semen falls like rain. The man penetrates deeply, becoming extremely vigorous and angry. When the woman is satisfied, all ailments are cured.

"The third method is called Ape Play."

"The woman lies supine, raising her legs high. The man faces the woman, kneeling behind her thighs, supporting her legs with his hands, placing them on his shoulders, so that her knees are above her chest, and slightly lifting her buttocks and back."

The Mysterious Woman continues, "At this time, inserting the penis and piercing the 'stinky rat' (another name for the 'Yu rat') will bring the woman unparalleled pleasure, and her sticky discharge will fall like rain. The penis is then inserted deeply, becoming even harder and stronger; after the woman's orgasm, the task is complete. Using this technique, all ailments are naturally eliminated."

The "Ape Play" position is characterized by the man supporting the woman's legs on his shoulders. It was a position very popular among men in ancient China, and many erotic paintings depict this sexual position. The male position is the same as in the Tiger Stance and Ape Swing, except that in the latter, the man must support the woman's legs on his shoulders.

The advantage of these two positions is that they raise and protrude the woman's vulva, making intercourse easier. This is especially beneficial for women with a lower vulva position. It also prevents the penis from slipping out due to its small size. This position is most suitable when the woman is slender and the man is plump. In obese individuals, the large waistline reduces the depth of contact between the penis and vagina, making it difficult for both partners to achieve pleasure. Furthermore, the penis, unable to penetrate deeply, will constantly slip out, thus diminishing the enjoyment of intercourse. However, the Tiger

Stance or Ape Swing position can remedy this drawback. The idea of the woman's legs being supported by the man's shoulders is novel, but this is only suitable for women with beautiful, shapely legs. If a pair of obese, large, and unsightly legs is considered "foolish," it not only fails to produce aesthetic appeal but might even make a man nauseous for three days, let alone allow him to engage in any kind of sexual activity. Men generally prefer slender beauties and women with small feet, likely because large kidneys and big feet present a disadvantage of being difficult to move.

Linking "feet" with "sex" is a common phenomenon throughout history and across cultures. Jews often use the euphemism "feet" to refer to sexual organs. The Old Testament book of Isaiah mentions "hair on the feet," meaning pubic hair. In China, Spain, Rome, and many other cultures, women's feet were a source of shame in ancient times, requiring concealment and not easily shown.

At the same time, feet (and even the shoes worn on them) were objects of attraction, a phenomenon that was very common. Many famous Chinese poems use the image of "three-inch golden lotuses" or embroidered shoes. Westerners also frequently drink brandy while wearing high heels. Contrary to large feet, bound feet often stimulated male libido.

A novel from the Six Dynasties period, "The Tale of Flying Swallow," describes the anecdotes of Zhao Feiyan and the Hede sisters. It mentions that Emperor Cheng, in his later years, suffered from decreased energy and impotence due to excessive sexual activity. However, whenever he saw Hede's bound feet, he would suddenly feel energetic and sexually aroused. Feiyan's feet were also described as "able to dance on a palm," indicating that she was not only as light as a swallow, but her bound feet were also smaller than a man's palm.

It is said that after Yang Guifei was forced to commit suicide by the emperor amidst the chaos of war, someone found one of her embroidered shoes, only ten centimeters long, and considered it a priceless treasure. No wonder poets described women's bound feet as "golden lotuses," and the custom of binding feet, like lotus petals, likely began around the Northern Song Dynasty. Foot binding, combined with gentle gymnastics and breathing techniques, allowed women to exhibit special skills during intercourse, bringing men immense pleasure.

Zhao Feiyan, from a young age, tightly bound her waist, practiced breathing exercises, and diligently danced, thus gaining the emperor's favor. This trend led to a widespread societal appreciation and high regard for small feet. Consequently, mothers bound their daughters' feet tightly with cloth from a very young age, resulting in a swaying, graceful gait. These methods, based on ancient guiding exercises and fetal breathing techniques, were considered unhealthy and have long been rejected by the Chinese people.

Some argue that foot binding was a necessary measure to restrict women's freedom of movement and prevent them from escaping. This argument is somewhat far-fetched and lacks logical strength. Poor husbands expected women to share labor and financial burdens; the more work she did, the better, even pushing carts and carrying slop. How could small feet possibly bear such a burden? In wealthy families, even with three or four wives and concubines, there was always the possibility of escape. However, the sheer number of servants and guards guarding the estate made it impossible for even the woman with the largest feet to escape.

It's more reasonable to compare foot binding with the system of polygamy. Men at that time viewed women as property, objects of forbidden lust and indulgence. Foot binding was merely a derivative of this system. Li Yu, a scholar of the Qing Dynasty, wrote "The Carnal Prayer Mat." He consistently opposed foot binding, but clearly pointed out that its purpose, besides being cherished and caressed by men, also served a sexual function.

Many ancient martial arts masters, despite having bound feet, could still lift heavy objects with incredible speed, and their skill in wielding swords and staffs was second to none. This was because their martial arts training differed from that of ordinary women. Due to foot binding, combined with techniques of sexual arts, forty-eight kinds of boudoir secrets were developed, becoming what is known as "secondary sexual techniques." For example, when foot binding was applied to the "food" aspect, foods such as melon seeds and raisins could be placed in the deep grooves where the five toes were bent, and men would lick them with their tongues. This was a stimulating and arousing flirting action.

As for the "support" aspect, it involves stroking the small feet on the cheeks, knees, and penis to enhance sexual desire.

"Suspend" involves untying the woman's bound feet and using this cloth to suspend her feet upside down on the bed, further enhancing male desire.

"Catch" involves placing the woman's small feet on the man's feet and gradually raising them.

"Hold" involves the woman tightly embracing her small feet to her chest.

"Push" involves the woman using her legs as a cart, pushing with her hands as if pushing a cart. "

Lift" is a sexual action where one of the woman's feet is placed on the man's shoulder. This action of placing one foot on the man's shoulder also appears in the book "Dong Xuan Zi," as one of the "Thirty Methods," called "Horse Shaking Hoof," and was enjoyed by many men.

In addition, "sucking" and "licking" involve using the tongue and teeth.

The former involves the man sucking on the tips of the small feet like a breastfeeding mother;

"licking" involves kissing the soles of the small feet.

"Nian" refers to gently nibbling at the lotus feet;

"Yao" refers to forcefully biting the toes.

In "Jin Ping Mei," Ximen Qing uses three fingers to play with and admire Pan Jinlian's toes,

which is called "Nian." Holding with both hands is called "Wo," and there is also "Nie." Scratching the sole of the foot with the thumb is called "Sao." Inserting the middle finger into the groove between the toes and gently rubbing is called "Kong."

The "Shun Shui Tuan" mentioned in the book "Rou Pu Tuan" is the "Long Fan" in the ancient women's classics. Pushing the boat downstream with less force makes the boat move faster, so the author used this name. "Long Fan" and "Yuan Bo" are both sexual techniques to enlarge the penis.

In the book "Rou Pu Tuan," the performative protagonist is "Wei Yang Gong," who, because he was once guided by a fairy, has a penis as long as a bamboo chopstick, as thick as a teacup, and as firm as tofu. There is a reason why he compares it to tofu. Because although gold, silver, copper, and iron are hard, they are afraid of fire and water. Tofu not only doesn't spoil when soaked in water, but it also becomes firmer the longer it's boiled. This analogy is truly apt. In the Ming Dynasty novel "The Monk's Loyalty in the Sea of Sin," the high-ranking lama monk possessed two secret methods of intercourse, known as the "Dual Cultivation Method," namely, the positions of flipping and wrestling like a monkey. Both of these positions are excellent techniques for enhancing the penis and bringing pleasure to the woman.

Section Twenty-One, Nine Methods, Fourth—Cicada Attachment

: The fourth method is Cicada Attachment. The woman lies prone with her body stretched out, and the man lies behind her, deeply inserting his penis and slightly lifting her buttocks to tap her vulva. Repeat this six or nine times. The woman's semen flows into her vagina, causing unexpected opening and pleasure. When the woman experiences pleasure, the seven injuries are naturally eliminated.

The Mystic Woman said, "The fourth method is called 'Cicada Attachment.'

'The woman lies face down, her body upright and prone. The man lies on top of her. After deeply inserting his penis, he slightly raises her buttocks and then thrusts his penis into her labia minora (the red pearl), repeating this fifty-four times. When she is aroused, her vagina is wet and trembling, her vulva is wide open, and she reaches orgasm, he stops. This can eliminate ailments caused by ten emotions: joy, anger, worry, thought, grief, fear, and shock.'

In 'Cicada Attachment,' the woman lies face down and moves less during intercourse, mostly swaying her hips from side to side to meet the man's thrusts. This is very suitable for women whose vulva is lower. Although the man is on top of the woman, he doesn't place his full weight on her. Instead, he supports his weight with his elbows, his legs spread and resting on the bed.

Therefore, the woman in the lower position won't feel suffocated by the man's weight. Breathing is often rapid during intercourse. If the lungs and chest are compressed, it can cause breathing difficulties and spoil the pleasure of sex. When a man performs this position, he should understand that it is "attached" rather than "pressed."

Due to the positional constraints and the man lying on top of her, it is unlikely that the woman will cooperate perfectly. Therefore, the man is responsible for the majority of the "labor." If the woman's vulva is too low or the penis is not long enough, it may slip out of the vagina during thrusting. In this case, it is advisable to place a small pillow or similar object under the woman's pelvis to elevate and expose the vulva. A variation of this position is when the man and woman lie side by side for intercourse. In this position, the woman is not burdened by the man's weight, and the man does not need to support his body with his hands and knees. Some lazy men may not exert any effort at all, allowing the woman to move freely.

Bai Xingjian, the younger brother of the great poet Bai Letian, once wrote a poem praising the pleasure of the emperor and Wu Zetian's intercourse. Emperor Xuanzong of Tang was rather lazy when it came to sexual intercourse, preferring the side-lying position. The poem "The Great Joy of the Union of Heaven and Earth" (天地阴阳交欢大乐赋), unearthed in a stone chamber in the Wusha Mountain area of Dunhuang County, Gansu Province, describes Empress Wu Zetian opening the curtains, climbing onto the dragon bed, her face like a flower, her eyes bright and clear. Supported by her maids, she removed her clothes, revealing her snow-white skin and plump buttocks. The emperor thrust his penis in and out repeatedly to satisfy Empress Wu's boundless desires…

While the *Xuan Nu Jing* (玄女经) doesn't mention the side-lying position in its nine methods, it appears later in the "Seven Losses" (七损). Bai Juyi's *Song of Everlasting Regret* (长恨歌) contains the line "In heaven, we wish to be birds flying wing to wing," which is said to describe the side-lying sexual technique of Emperor Xuanzong and Yang Guifei, resembling birds flying wing to wing.

Section Twenty-Two, the Fifth of the Nine Methods – Turtle Ascent:

The fifth method is called Turtle Ascent. The woman lies face up with her knees bent. The man then pushes her legs up to her breasts, inserting his penis into her vagina. The depth of penetration should be adjusted to ensure the penis reaches the target. The woman will feel pleasure, her body will sway, and semen will flow. When the penetration is deep enough, the woman will experience pleasure, and the man should stop. Do not lose energy, as this will maximize your vitality.

"The fifth method is called Turtle Ascent." " The

woman lies face up with her knees bent and raised to her chest."

The Mysterious Woman continues, "The man kneels facing the woman, pushing her legs up to her breasts with both hands. The penis stimulates the vestibular glands and pierces the clitoris. With each thrust, the depth must be appropriate, and the clitoris should be thoroughly caressed and rubbed."

"When a woman experiences intense pleasure, she naturally sways her body, and her vaginal fluids are secreted in large quantities. The penis then penetrates deeper, leading the woman to orgasm before ceasing intercourse. Following this technique, a man will undoubtedly have boundless energy and a strong body. In this position, when the woman experiences pleasure, her entire body is bound by the man, and her legs are pushed tightly to her chest. To release her ecstatic emotions, she will inevitably sway from side to side, causing the man to also sway back and forth. Combined with the penis moving left and right, she will be immersed in a state of ecstasy, like a turtle soaring through the clouds.

Therefore, this position is called 'Turtle Soaring,' a truly vivid description. The Turtle Soaring position allows for deep penetration of the penis into the vagina. Because the woman's legs are raised, her buttocks naturally rise as well, allowing the man to fully view her vulva. Some people have very incorrect views, especially women who are afraid of men admiring their mons pubis. In fact, the female reproductive organs are one of the body's various organs, and their function and structure are magnificent and wondrous."

Generally, the area with the most pubic hair for women, besides the head, is the pubic hair around the mons pubis. In many cultures, or at certain times, plucking pubic hair was very fashionable. For example, in ancient Rome, plucking pubic hair was a fashionable custom, much like dancers shaving their armpits today. While we don't find female figures with pubic hair in Greek sculptures, this was merely an artistic convention and had nothing to do with actual life. We find that in contemporary vase paintings, all female figures have pubic hair. Furthermore, pubic hair is also present in nude portraits of geishas.

Helen of Troy, a quintessential figure of Greek female beauty, has pubic hair in her portrait, and the same can be expected in other depictions. This shows that aesthetic views across different cultures and periods are largely similar. The fate of female pubic hair is similar to that of men's beards. Initially, it was merely a purely physiological protective function and a manifestation of secondary sexual characteristics, just like the feathers of many birds and the manes of horses and lions. Pubic hair and beards can sometimes be highly valued.

For men, they represent dignity and nobility; for women, they are the ultimate symbol of beauty. However, they can also be disliked, leading to their trimming, shaving, or complete removal. Early Christianity strongly opposed keeping beards, and later advocated for the removal of pubic hair. During the reign of Queen Victoria in England, it was generally accepted that pubic hair should be styled above the eyebrows.

Section Twenty-Three, Nine Methods, Six – Phoenix Soaring

: The sixth method is called Phoenix Soaring. The woman lies face up with her legs bent and open. The man kneels between her thighs, his hands deep within the mat, his penis piercing her clitoris. The woman moves and thrusts twenty-eight times, her buttocks throbbing, her vagina opening and releasing semen. When she reaches orgasm, the man stops, and all ailments are eliminated.

"The sixth posture is called Phoenix Soaring." "

The woman lies face up with her legs bent and open. The man kneels between her legs, his elbows on the ground." "The penis enters the vagina and pierces the clitoris. While the erect, hot penis is inside, the woman moves twenty-four times."

The Mysterious Woman further says, "It is essential that the woman's thighs are tightly pressed against the penis, and her vagina opens wide with excitement, with fluid gushing out like a spring. Once the woman reaches orgasm, the man stops. Regular practice of this method will naturally eliminate all ailments."

Phoenix is often mentioned alongside Phoenix (凰). Phoenix is male, and Phoenix (凰) is female. Phoenix can also be called Phoenix Emperor. Like the phoenix, there are also mandarin ducks, butterflies, and so on. They are all objects of marital harmony, enduring love,

and inseparable companionship, inspiring envy. The Zuo Zhuan contains the phrase "phoenixes flying together," describing the sweetness of a marriage and the steadfastness of love. Using "phoenix soaring" to describe the sexual position in this chapter is truly apt. Including the phoenix soaring, we have already introduced six sexual positions and three more below, all of which are very beneficial to human physiology. So, do changes in position also have an impact on the psychology of both men and women? When discussing methods or positions of intercourse, some believe that there is only one normal and reasonable position: the man is on top, face down, lying prone on top of the woman, while the woman lies face up, supine beneath the man. This is the "dragon flipping" position we mentioned in Chapter 18. Other positions are considered lewd or evil.

The famous American physician, Van Tefert, when discussing European sex life, said that most husbands were unaware of the monotony of sexual life, nor did they know that this monotony could be improved by changing positions. This change in posture did not exceed the normal range. However, due to insufficient understanding, they were unable to resolve this issue, thus failing to improve their monotonous and dull sex life.

In modern times, many doctors and psychologists have acknowledged that changes in sexual positions, as long as both parties are psychologically tolerant and physiologically accepting, are very beneficial to both physical and mental health and can enhance romantic enjoyment.

According to psychologists, the concept of "sexual beauty" has approximately three aspects:

(1) Racial customs: Each race has its own physical characteristics, and the psychology of cherishing these characteristics can easily develop into a psychology of praise and admiration. For example, the natives of Europe, Asia, and Africa are born with large buttocks, thus creating a custom of liking "full buttocks". In addition, the medieval Europeans' praise of slender women (even requiring flat chests and buttocks) and the ancient Chinese custom of foot binding are all caused by "racial customs". As for sexual positions, although the methods adopted by each race are largely similar, each race has its preferred changes in posture. The oldest known picture of sexual intercourse was discovered in Dordogne, in southwestern France. It belongs to a cultural period of the Paleolithic Age, the Solutrian Age. In this picture, the position of intercourse is not like a dragon in a flip position. Instead, the man lies face up and the woman squats on top. This shows that the changes in sexual positions have existed throughout history, both in China and abroad.

(2) Personal taste: Each person's physical strength, personality and experience often affect their view of "sexual beauty". On a large scale, this is reflected in the choice of a spouse, and on a smaller scale, in the choice of sexual positions. For example, some men like women with a voluptuous figure, while others like women with a slender figure. The same is true for women. Some like athletes, while others like gentle scholars. For some people, one position is enough to solve the problem, but for others, the problem is more complicated and serious.

This is because women have two major characteristics: shyness and slow orgasm. Shy women! Women are often ashamed to ask for changes in intercourse positions. Even if a man makes a request, they are embarrassed to readily comply. Women, on the other hand, have slow orgasms and find routine intercourse monotonous and unstimulating, hoping to increase pleasure and satisfy their sexual desire by changing the mood. Changes in intercourse positions can often quickly increase the sexual desire of both men and women and lead to orgasm.

Because the level of sexual desire is difficult to completely control with one's willpower, it requires sexual stimulation. In particular, the erection of a man's penis and the sexual arousal of a woman are not directly caused by willpower. They need to be stimulated by sight, touch or other factors that can arouse sexual excitement. The change of intercourse positions itself has this characteristic of stimulating sexual excitement. However, not all positions that can be changed are suitable for everyone.

Among various positions, some are particularly suitable for certain people, and some people particularly like certain positions. These all depend on personal interests.

(3) Curiosity: This is the third major factor in "sex".

Going back to the beginning of love, both men and women mostly have some curiosity about each other. Even in early childhood, people are curious about the physical structure of the opposite sex, especially girls. Seeing what a boy has between his legs, something they themselves lack, sparks their curiosity to find out why. As people grow older, this curiosity persists, extending beyond physical physiology to include psychological aspects. Both psychological characteristics are fundamental factors in the attraction between the sexes. Therefore, men often prefer a woman's gentleness and charm, while women often prefer a man's strength and masculinity.

The complementary pleasure in physical attraction is similar. A woman's physical beauty is enough to evoke a man's longing and yearning, while a man's strength is something a woman admires and desires. Thus, the attraction between the sexes is fundamentally based on what the body lacks and what this lack results in. Married couples, or those with sufficient sexual experience, often find their curiosity about sex, especially intercourse, lacking novelty. Should the romanticism of the past then disappear entirely? Especially for people living in modern times, the monotony of daily life has become tiresome. Coupled with the stress of life, economic pressures, and the impact of childbirth, interest in sexual intercourse has drastically decreased. Men would rather spend their nights at the mahjong table or in nightclubs than return home to share a bed with their wives. Women, on the other hand, frequent department stores and entertainment venues, reluctant to return home for intimate moments. Even couples who live routine and conventional lives often remain stagnant in their sexual encounters due to a lack of understanding of the pleasures of sex, limiting their interactions to the primal need for sexual release.

Generally, anything unusual evokes a sense of mystery and precious curiosity. Changing the roles of partners in sexual intercourse will undoubtedly make the already stimulating and mysterious world of sex even more exciting and enigmatic. This, in turn, will inevitably lead to a sweeter, more steadfast, and more fulfilling love between the couple.

Section 24, the seventh of the nine methods—The Rabbit Sucking its Hair.

The seventh method

is called "The Rabbit Sucking its Hair." The man lies face up with his legs extended. The woman straddles him, her knees outside. Her head is turned towards his feet, and she kneels on either side. She lowers her head and inserts her penis into the woman's vagina, stimulating her clitoris (the

"string" of a harp). The woman experiences intense pleasure, her vaginal fluids flow like a spring, and she is filled with joy and pleasure. When she stops, all diseases are prevented. "The seventh method is called 'The Rabbit Sucking

its Hair.'" "The man lies face up with his legs extended. The woman straddles him, her knees on either side. She holds onto the ground with her head down." "The man inserts his penis into the woman's vagina and stimulates her clitoris (the "string" of a harp).

The woman experiences heightened pleasure, her vaginal fluids flow like a spring, and she is filled with joy and pleasure, which is evident in her expression. After reaching orgasm, the act of intercourse is stopped, and all diseases are prevented." In this position, the woman's knees are bent and her head is lowered, resembling a jade rabbit licking its fine, silvery fur. Therefore, this position is called "The Rabbit Sucking its Hair," a truly lifelike and arousing sight. People often see cats bending their heads to groom their fur, like a careful girl combing brocade. Some people who have raised rabbits often find that the cute little rabbits are better at grooming themselves, and their cleanliness and attentiveness are no less than that of kittens.

In the "Rabbit Sucking on a Hair" position, the man holds the woman's thighs with both hands and can freely caress any part of her body. During this position, the woman must actively sway her hips up and down or side to side for the penis to penetrate and move within her vagina. In inexperienced women, the penis may initially struggle to find its way in. In this case, the woman must guide it with her hands or use her vagina to accommodate the penis for successful insertion.

Because the penis is long and unstable, it can easily slip out of the vagina during the woman's movements and the vagina's opening and closing motions, causing a pause. Therefore, the woman must be careful and gentle, like a rabbit. Otherwise, if the woman's hip movements are too rough or rapid, the penis may slip out or break painfully. The woman's active swaying and rocking is a characteristic of the "Rabbit Sucking on a Hair" position.

This movement relies on the strength of the legs and waist, making them prone to fatigue. Women are naturally weaker, and since intercourse is often passive and involves little exertion, they may find this method more tiring and therefore avoid it. In fact, as long as both partners cooperate properly, the difficulty will diminish naturally with practice. Especially for women, shifting from passive to active, there will be a unique psychological experience. As both partners become more proficient, the stimulation and pleasure will increase.

The great calligrapher Wang Xizhi, skilled in using the brush, once mentioned using rabbit hair as a brush, saying, "The rabbit is neither superior nor inferior; it is the skill of the brush that matters." This statement is also very apt when applied to the sexual technique of "rabbit sucking the brush." Countless men and women in the world engage in sexual intercourse in a state of confusion and uncertainty; it should be viewed as a release of sexual desire. Only the skillful can effectively utilize the art of the bedroom to achieve the dual goals of pleasure and longevity—truly, "skill and clumsiness vary from hand to hand!"

Section 25, the Eighth of the Nine Methods – Fish-Scale Intercourse.

The eighth method is called "Fish-Scale Intercourse." The man lies supine, the woman straddles him, her legs gently moving forward, slightly penetrating him, then stopping. The penetration should not be deep, like a child suckling. The woman alone moves, ensuring duration and pleasure for the woman,

while the man withdraws. This method cures various ailments. An ancient woman said, "The eighth method is called 'Fish-Scale Intercourse.'" "The man lies face up, legs straight, on the ground. The woman straddles his front legs and hip bones." "

The woman moves her hips forward, slowly enveloping the penis with her vagina. Do not penetrate deeply, just shallowly, like a child suckling." "The man does not need to move; only the woman moves, and this must be sustained for a considerable time. After the woman reaches orgasm, the man stops, ending intercourse. Regular practice of this method can cure various diseases."

From the very meaning of "Fish-Scale Intercourse," one can appreciate the charm of this position, which combines both allure and delicacy.

Women are naturally known for their gentleness and charm; in this position, the woman uses gentle movements to actively initiate the attack. For the woman, this is a new attempt at taking the initiative, reversing the roles of guest and host. Because she is entirely in control, she feels in control of the situation, which enhances her libido and pleasure.

The man, contrary to his usual position, plays a passive role, quietly admiring the woman straddling him, savoring the undulating breasts and buttocks, her delicate fists and legs. Especially the woman's breasts; due to their movement, whether trembling up and down or swaying left and right, they drive the man wild with desire. This breast movement is unique to this position, resembling fish scales or a rabbit suckling at a brush.

The only difference is that in the latter, the woman faces backward, while in the former, she faces forward. During intercourse, the man can freely caress the woman's breasts, indulging in the "freshly peeled chicken head meat" described by poets as reminiscent of Yang Guifei.

According to Dr. Kinsey's research, the vagina and nipples are the primary erogenous zones for women. Usually, caressing either of these areas is enough to bring the woman intense pleasure. If both methods are used simultaneously—stimulating and rubbing the vagina while simultaneously caressing the nipples—it can lead to a multiplied pleasure for the woman. Therefore, in the fish-scale-like intercourse position, the man can not only enjoy the sight of the breasts and buttocks, but also effortlessly bring the woman greater pleasure and satisfaction.

Zhuang Nanzhou's "He Dian" is a famous encyclopedia of the art of insults in China, and was a favorite reading of the late Kuomintang elder Wu Zhihui, who was known for his "playful and angry" writings. One line that Wu Zhihui often praised as particularly vivid is: "Flesh to flesh, swaying and rustling, unlike anything else..." Readers and couples engaging in "fish-scale-like" intercourse should carefully experience this enchanting scene; they will find that the sensation truly is flesh to flesh, swaying and rustling, unlike anything else.

"Fish and water's joy" is a metaphor for deep marital affection, or an allusion to male-female intercourse, originating from Guanzi's "Xiao Wen" chapter, which shares a similar sentiment with the "fish-scale-like" intercourse of the Mysterious Woman.

Section 26, the Ninth of Nine Methods – Crane Neck

Intertwined: The ninth method is called Crane Neck Intertwined

. The man

sits upright with his legs spread apart, and the woman straddles him, her hands embracing his neck. The penis penetrates the woman's vulva, rubbing against her labia and stimulating her clitoris. The man holds the woman's buttocks, assisting her in rocking, and then stops, thus healing the seven injuries.

The wisdom of our ancestors is invaluable. The use of "neck intertwined" instead of "tail intertwined" to describe intimate moments is evident here. In the Crane Neck Intertwined position, the man and woman face each other, embracing, cheek to cheek, neck to neck, experiencing a blissful intimacy unattainable in other positions.

According to the book "The Sea of Sengni Ni Ni" (僧尼孽海), Emperor Shun, the twelfth emperor of the Yuan Dynasty, supported Lama monks and learned "Shuangxiu Fa" (双修法), a secret sexual technique of Lamaism, consisting of nine positions. These nine positions are very similar to the nine sexual techniques described by the Xuan Nu (玄女). Both discuss methods and purposes for health preservation and disease prevention, as well as techniques such as penetration depth, speed, and frequency of intercourse; with a few exceptions, they are almost identical. Even the names are largely the same. Except for the second technique's "Tiger Step" (虎步) changing to "Tiger Walk" (虎行), and the eighth technique's "Fish Connecting Scales" (鱼接鳞) changing to "Fish Swimming" (鱼游泳), the other names are completely identical. The

"Thirty Methods" (卅法) recorded in the book "Dong Xuan Zi" (洞玄子) also, like Shuangxiu Fa, study and discuss techniques for lovemaking, sexual positions, and various esoteric practices. In short, whether it's the Thirty Methods, the Miscellaneous Cultivation Methods, or the Nine Methods of the Plain Girl Sutra, they all use sexual intercourse to achieve the goal of health and longevity, seeking to cure diseases and promote health and longevity in both men and women. While the Nine Methods of the Plain Girl Sutra, the Lama Monk's Dual Cultivation Method, and the Thirty Methods of Dongxuanzi are largely similar, they also have minor differences.

The Nine Methods of the Plain Girl Sutra emphasizes that men should strive for calmness, cultivate the atmosphere, and seize the opportunity. The "techniques" used are mainly aimed at giving women pleasure. Intercourse is based on the principle of one man to one woman, and the frequency of penetration is emphasized. The Lama Dual Cultivation Method, as the name suggests, focuses on "dual" cultivation, that is, the study of techniques to enable both men and women to obtain sexual pleasure. The Dual Cultivation Method places greater emphasis on the study of penile insertion into the vagina during intercourse.

For example, the Dragon Turns is described as eight shallow and five deep, the Tiger Walks as five shallow and three deep, the Ape Swings as nine shallow and six deep, the Cicada Attaches as ten shallow and four deep, the Phoenix Soars as six shallow and three deep, the Rabbit Sucking its Fur as four shallow and one deep, and the Crane Intertwines its Neck as ten shallow and seven deep; only the Tortoise Leaps and the Fish Swims are not described. The *Su Nu Jing* (Classic of the Plain Girl) only describes these depths in the Dragon Turns (eight shallow and three deep).

Furthermore, the *Zhi Xiu Fa* (Only the Method of Cultivation) also introduces a sexual intercourse method involving two women and one man, such as the "Fish Swimming" posture, which is a sexual position for one man and two women. This differs from the "Fish Connecting Scales" of the eighth of the nine methods in the *Su Nu Jing*. The method involves one woman lying supine on the bed, while the other lies face down on top of her, like a man and woman in intercourse. The three flirt and play until sexual arousal, after which the man lies supine, and the two women take turns riding on him, attacking upwards and doing as they please. In this position, although the man doesn't actively attack, he can lie still and watch the two women take turns vying for his penis. Especially when the two women are aroused, unable to stop and eager to reach orgasm, the pleasure is bound to be immense and unforgettable.

Similar sexual positions resembling fish swimming are also recorded in the Sui and Tang Dynasty sex classic, *Dongxuanzi*. The fifteenth method in the book's thirty methods is "Double Phoenix Dance," named for its resemblance to two phoenixes dancing. During intercourse, the two women assume a male-female union position, facing each other, while the man lies prone behind the woman on top, allowing him to alternately penetrate both women's vulvas. Ideally, the man should have his knees slightly bent on the ground, allowing for easy movement of his penis, alternating penetration between the two women. The biggest difference between *Double Phoenix Dance* and *Fish Swimming* is that the man easily takes the initiative. At this point, the man must strive to remain calm and avoid excessive excitement, otherwise he will quickly ejaculate and reach orgasm, ending the sexual act prematurely and disappointing all three. Section Twenty

-Seven: Various Positions to Enhance Sexual Function .

In addition to the nine methods mentioned above, the art of the bedroom also includes methods of "seven losses" and "eight benefits."

Their function is to harmonize Yin and Yang, and through the practice of sexual techniques, not only can men and women achieve perfect harmony and strengthen their love, but they can also improve their health, strengthen their bodies, and live longer.

Traditional Chinese medicine places more emphasis on the internal organs, believing that strengthening the body and consolidating its foundation should start from the inside out. Take gymnastics as an example: if the internal organs are unhealthy, the muscles and bones cannot develop normally. This is because the function of the internal organs is to control the entire body; if the internal organs themselves are incomplete, how can the muscles, bones, skin, and hair be healthy?

This theory was recorded as early as in the *Huangdi Neijing Suowen Jiezi*: "The heart governs the blood vessels and its manifestation is the complexion; the lungs govern the skin and its manifestation is the hair; the liver governs the tendons and its manifestation is the nails; the spleen governs the muscles and its manifestation is the skin; the kidneys govern the bones and its manifestation is the hair..." A healthy heart ensures smooth blood circulation, resulting in a rosy complexion; healthy lungs ensure smooth skin and lustrous hair; a healthy liver ensures strong muscles and healthy nails; a healthy spleen ensures agile muscles and vibrant lips.

The Eight Benefits Method is based on this theory, applying various sexual positions to strengthen the functions of muscles, joints, internal organs, blood circulation, meridians, and nerves. Besides actively strengthening internal organs and improving organ function, the Eight Benefits Method also relieves physical fatigue and mental exhaustion during intercourse. Most notably, the eight methods involve significant variations in sexual positions, especially the inclusion of many side-lying positions.

This side-lying position is not mentioned in the previously nine methods. From this, we can better appreciate the versatility and meticulous consideration in the *Su Nu Jing* (Classic of the Plain Girl). The female postures in the Eight Benefits primarily involve bending, opening, and pressing the knees together, twisting the waist, and engaging in full movement of other parts of the body. Their purpose is to strengthen the function of internal organs, especially the kidneys, improve blood circulation in the pelvis, strengthen abdominal muscles, maintain a healthy uterus, and preserve a woman's libido.

In short, the Eight Benefits aim to strengthen internal organ function and solidify sexual function, enabling both men and women to not only fully enjoy sexual pleasure but also prolong life and maintain good health. One of the Eight Benefits – Strengthening Essence: The Plain Girl says that Yin and Yang have eight harms and eight benefits. One benefit is strengthening essence. The woman lies on her side with her legs spread, and the man lies on his side between them. Repeat this eighteen times. Stop after counting. The man strengthens his essence. This also treats women's bleeding. Repeat this for fifteen days and it will cure . The Plain Girl says, "Sexual intercourse between men and women can harm or benefit the body. Improper practice will harm both body and mind.

Therefore, I have listed seven methods of harm and eight methods of benefit as treatment guidelines."

"The first benefit is strengthening essence." "The woman lies on her side with her legs spread, the upper leg slightly bent. The man lies on his side facing her, inserting his penis into her vagina eighteen times consecutively, then stops. This will help the man strengthen his essence and thicken his semen, and it can cure excessive menstruation in women." "Following this method, do it twice a day for fifteen days to cure bleeding and seminal emission."

In the Plain Girl's Classic, among the nine methods mentioned above and the seven methods of harm and benefit to be introduced, there are many descriptions of sexual positions and movements, although these are merely the frictional movements of the male sexual organ—the penis—and the female sexual organ—the vagina.

While the movements appear simple, there are actually many different sexual positions between men and women, numbering over a hundred. A rough analysis identifies approximately eight basic positions. These can be categorized by the direction of the man and woman and the active/passive relationship:

Facing each other

(1) Woman lying supine with her face down… Man active

(2) Woman lying on her side… Man active

(3) Man lying supine with his face down…

Woman active

(4) Man sitting… Woman active (5) Both lying on their sides… Man active

Back-to-back position (woman facing away from man)

(1) Woman lying

face down… Man active (2) Man lying supine with his face down

… Woman active (3) Man sitting… Woman active

(4) Both lying on their sides… Man active

The above list of nine main sexual positions can be considered the basic positions for over a hundred sexual positions. While there are many other variations, they are all just minor differences in movement. For example, in the first facing position, the woman's slight changes in posture lead to many different positions and names. For example, a woman might bend one leg, or both legs raised... and so on.

Section Twenty-Eight: The Eight Benefits .

One of the Eight Benefits: Strengthening Essence. The Plain

Woman said: Yin and Yang have eight losses and eight benefits. The first benefit is strengthening essence. The text describes a method for treating excessive menstrual bleeding. It includes descriptions of sexual positions, such

as the woman lying on her side with her legs spread , the man lying face-to-face with her, and inserting his penis into her vagina eighteen times. The text then explains that this method strengthens the man's semen and thickens it, while treating excessive menstruation in women. It recommends performing this twice daily for fifteen days to cure excessive menstruation and spermatorrhea. The text further describes the seemingly simple movements of the penis and vagina, suggesting that there are over a hundred different sexual positions . A rough analysis reveals approximately eight basic positions. These are listed below according to the direction of the man and woman and the active/passive relationship: Facing-to-face (1) Woman lying supine with her face down… Man active (2) Woman lying on her side… Man active (3) Man lying supine with his face down… Woman active (4) Man sitting… Woman active (5) Both men and women lying on their sides… Man active Back-to-back position (woman facing away from man) (1) Woman lying face down… Man active (2) Man lying supine with his face down… Woman active ∷ I exercise! I'm healthy! (3) Man sitting… Woman active (4) Both men and women lying on their sides… Man active The above list of nine main sexual positions can be considered the basic positions for over a hundred sexual positions. While there are many other variations, they are all just minor differences in movements. For example, in the first facing-to-back position, the woman's slight changes in posture lead to many different positions and names. For instance, the woman may bend one leg, bend one leg, or raise both legs… and so on. The second of the eight benefits is calming the qi. The second benefit is calming the qi. The woman lies upright with a high pillow, legs extended. The man kneels between her thighs and inserts needles three times nine times. After this, the qi is harmonized. It also treats coldness in women's genitals, performed three times a day for twenty days to cure.

"The second benefit is calming the mind.

The woman lies on her back with her head elevated. Her legs are spread flat on either side. The man kneels between her legs, his knees and palms on the ground, his palms placed on either side of her vagina.

The penis is inserted into the vagina twenty-seven times, then stopped. This method can calm the mind, promote the flow of qi, and also treat coldness in the vaginal opening.

This method must be performed three times a day for twenty consecutive

days to be effective. Sexual intercourse is also an art. Careless, reckless men, 'using force,' will finish quickly. Such men, who only care about their own gratification and disregard the woman's reaction, are unwise and mistaken.

Sexual intercourse, as the name suggests, is the union of two sexes. It must be mutually pleasurable, not a one-sided release. Psychologically, both parties aim to satisfy and please the other.

Although intercourse positions vary, they all involve one party taking the initiative and the other carefully cooperating." The decision of who takes the initiative depends entirely on the sexual position. Generally speaking, it's about 50/50 between men and women. Men typically have more opportunities to take the initiative, often lying down. Women usually take the initiative in a sitting position, and the room temperature must be moderate, not cold, during this position. Also, it's less likely to reach orgasm while sitting, due to the structure of the sexual organs.

In ancient times, many emperors were lazy and preferred to lie in bed with women straddling them, face-to-face or back-to-back, during intercourse. In this position, they could enjoy the sight of the woman's breasts trembling from the vibrations, creating a unique "wave of breasts and buttocks."

Many women believe that men should be the ones to initiate intercourse, which is a misconception, just as many women mistakenly believe that intercourse is shameful. In reality, "sex" and "union" are a unified whole, and the woman should take the lead, seeking variety. During intercourse, women should also cooperate with men. Men, in turn, hope that women will sometimes take the initiative, gaining new stimulation from it. It is not appropriate to mistake a woman's initiative for the man being too masculine. Of course, on the wedding night, it is advisable for the bride to take the initiative, otherwise the groom will surely become timid and hesitant.

The third of the eight benefits

is to benefit the hidden organs. The woman lies on her side with her legs bent, and the man lies horizontally while the woman is penetrated from behind. The penetration is repeated for 49 times, then stopped. This method harmonizes the qi and treats coldness in women's genitals. Repeated four times a day for 20 days will cure the condition.

"The third of the eight benefits is benefiting the hidden organs."

"The woman lies on her side with her legs bent, exposing her buttocks and thighs."

"The man also lies on his side and attacks from behind. The penis is inserted 36 times and then stopped.

This method breaks a man's calm and peaceful state, causing him to ejaculate and induce moaning in women.

" "When using this method, it should be done four times a day, without ejaculation, for 20 consecutive days to cure the above-mentioned ailments."

The fourth benefit is to strengthen bones. The woman lies on her side with her left knee bent and her right thigh extended, and the man penetrates her from behind. The penetration is repeated for 59 times, then stopped. This method harmonizes the joints and treats

amenorrhea in women. Repeated five times a day for 10 days will cure the condition.

"Zhang Gu is the fourth of the Eight Benefits."

"The woman lies on her side, bending her left knee towards her chest, with her right leg extended."

"The man lies on top of her, inserting his penis into her vagina in a frontal attack from the side."

"The penis is inserted forty-five times and then stopped, five times a day for ten consecutive days. This will improve joint mobility for both men and women, making them feel light and agile, and can also cure prolonged amenorrhea in women."

The fifth of the Eight Benefits

is regulating the pulse. The woman lies on her side, bending her right knee and extending her left thigh. The man, positioned on the ground, inserts his penis six times, counting to nine, then

stops. This will improve the flow of qi in men and cure vaginal spasms in women, performed six times a day for twenty days.

"The fifth benefit of the Eight Benefits is regulating the pulse."

"The woman lies on her right side, bending her right knee towards her chest,

with her left leg extended." "The man lies on top of the woman, attacking her from the front from the side." "

The penis is inserted into her vagina fifty-four times, six times a day for twenty consecutive days."

"This method can improve the flow of qi in men and cure vaginal spasms in women." In

this position, the woman's left leg is bent in the previous method, while in this method, the right leg is bent.

The sixth of the eight benefits is blood stasis.

The sixth benefit is blood stasis. The man lies upright and the woman kneels on top of him, covering his buttocks, and inserts the heel into him. The woman then repeats this seven or nine times. After the repetition, the man becomes strong.

It also treats irregular menstruation in women, with menstruation occurring seven times a day and curing it in ten days.

"Blood storage is the sixth of the eight benefits."

"The man lies supine, in a passive position." "

The woman kneels astride the man's hips, her knees on either side of his buttocks, her vulva facing his penis."

"The woman clamps her vulva around the penis, allowing it to penetrate deeply sixty-three times, then stops." "

This method can strengthen a man's virility and cure a woman's menstrual irregularities."

"This method should be performed seven times daily for ten consecutive days to see results." The seventh

of the eight benefits

is "Benefiting Fluid." "

In this sexual position, the woman lies prone with a high pillow under her abdomen and hips, raising her buttocks and protruding her vulva for easy penetration." "

The man supports himself with his palms and knees, straddling the woman's legs, inserting his penis into her vulva, thrusting seventy-two times before stopping." "

I exercise! I am healthy!"

"The Yiye Method can make the bones of those who have sex strong and firm."

Although the original text of the Su Nu Jing does not specify how many times a day this method should be used, judging from the previous six methods and the last eighth method, it seems more accurate to say that Yiye should be done eight times a day for ten consecutive days.

The Eight Benefits of the Eight Dao Body Method:

The Dao Body Method requires the woman to lie face up with her buttocks pressed against her buttocks, and the man to use his thighs and ribs to stab her. After nine times, stop. This will strengthen the bones

and cure female genital odor. Do it nine times a day for nine days to cure it

. "The Dao Body Method is the last of the Eight Benefits."

"The woman lies face up with her legs bent backward, her feet touching her buttocks."

"The man places his knees and palms on the ground, with his legs straddling the woman's sides. He inserts his penis into the vagina and thrusts in and out eighty-one times, then stops."

"The Dao Body Method must be done nine times a day for nine consecutive days to cure female genital odor."

The biggest problem with this method, for the man, is that he must have sex nine times a day, and each time he must thrust his penis in and out eighty-one times, without ejaculating at all. For women, this translates to the pain of bending their legs. However, these two points are precisely what the *Su Nu Jing* (Classic of Plain Girls) requires; without them, the goal of health and longevity cannot be achieved. Weighing the two, the lesser of two evils is chosen. According to Traditional Chinese Medicine, bones and bone marrow are related to the kidneys, which are considered the organs responsible for reproduction, growth, development, aging, and other life processes, storing essence. Therefore, the Eight Benefits can help men increase their sperm count, regulate the body, and are therapeutic positions.

Many modern Japanese people, from infancy to old age, suffer from weak bones and pain in their lower back and joints due to insufficient ultraviolet radiation.

While their younger generation may be tall, their muscles and bones are not necessarily strong. Although they may know many sexual positions from reading numerous books on sex, they lack stamina in practice, and many are even impotent.

Modern Japanese people have used standing forward bends and upper body arches as methods to measure flexibility. The results showed that men reach their peak around age twenty, and women before that age, indicating premature aging.

If one learns the Eight Benefits, one can strengthen muscles and bones, smooth joints, and strengthen internal organs, resulting in a natural reduction in illness, increased stamina, and even the potential cure of impotence.

However, there are two types of postures: those that are practical and those that are not. This refers to the most practical and optimal postures.

Regarding methods to enhance essence, there are several, such as massaging the area around the navel, near the second lumbar vertebra, and the sacrum below it with the palms, using abdominal pressure techniques with probing breaths, or performing exercises like contracting the anus to hold back the urge to defecate, and practicing the left-right bow-opening exercise. These are methods to strengthen kidney function.

While massage or abdominal pressure techniques were mentioned earlier to enhance energy, this refers to the "Eight Pieces of Brocade Sitting Exercise." Wudang boxing is a branch of Shaolin boxing. Before performing Wudang boxing, one must first perform the preparatory exercises of the Eight Pieces of Brocade, a unique form of martial art performed on horseback, where the lower body remains still, using only the upper body and hands. (Detailed illustrations are included in my book "The Eight Pieces of Brocade Health Method").

Kohinata Hakuro, a notorious Japanese bandit leader in Northeast China, once controlled all the bandits in the region. He trained in a Taoist temple in Ganshan, learning from preparatory gymnastics to develop a fierce fighting style where a single, decisive blow could kill.

The Eightfold Path of Sex is one of the methods for strengthening the body, a secret derived from Eastern medicine.

A prostitute named Kaguya, through long experience, learned several practical sexual positions, but only recommends a few.

Xiangmei learned dozens of sexual positions from the madam, but she thought the following two were the best: "Regarding sexual positions, although the madam taught me dozens, I would like to recommend two:

(1) The woman lies on her back on the bed, and the man lies on top of her. The woman raises her legs and wraps them around the man's waist. They hold each other tightly with their hands, making their bodies closely intertwined. Although this is a commonly used old position, it should not be taken lightly.

(2) The woman lies on the edge of the bed, and the man stands under the bed and holds the woman's legs, as if he is pressing down on two wheels. In this way, the woman does not have to worry about the man pressing down on her, and the man does not have to bend his knees and hunch his back. He is lying down and stationary, and he can move freely. It is very comfortable, especially in the cool summer. This position is the most suitable.

As for other positions, although I have tried them out of curiosity, I do not use any of them, so I do not use them." However, the choice of sexual position also depends on one's physique. Of course, personal preferences also vary.

Between these two positions, a prostitute might choose the first one for efficiency, as this position allows for close physical contact between the man and woman, and the lower body movements can be well coordinated, resulting in mutual pleasure. Therefore, it is indeed a practical position.

Section 29: Seven Positions for Treating Sexual Decline .

The seven losses in this chapter are paired with the eight benefits. Illnesses caused by forcing sex due to physical discomfort can be treated using sexual positions. This is clearly explained in this chapter. For example, sexual weakness, premature ejaculation, impotence, atrophy, sex during overexertion, or symptoms caused by drinking alcohol, internal organ damage, or excessive sexual activity are all problems that greatly trouble modern people.

The *Su Nu Jing* views these as problems of physical and mental imbalance. To promote normal sexual life, she uses the aforementioned positions as methods to restore function. Furthermore, in addition to the aforementioned nine methods and eight benefits, the *Su Nu Jing* (Classic of the Plain Girl) further sought transformation, painstakingly devising twenty-four sexual positions. Her goals included the benefits of strength, longevity, and happiness, emphasizing self-reliance throughout. This was akin to giving modern people a shot in the arm.

Modern people, due to declining physical strength, coupled with stress, wearing thin and transparent pants and shirts, and using condoms, have experienced a gradual decline in sexual ability. Many modern people suffer from mental fatigue, leading to impotence, ultimately rendering their sex lives futile. This is why methods for satisfying one's partner through sexual positions tailored to the body and mood have emerged.

One of the Seven Losses – Exhaustion of Qi

: The Su Nu (素女) says that the first loss is exhaustion of qi. Exhaustion of qi means that if one forces intercourse without desire, one will sweat profusely

, lose energy, and become excited to the point of being unable to open one's eyes. The treatment method is for the woman to lie on her back, and the man to lift her legs and then force intercourse, allowing her to move freely until her saliva flows out. The man should not ejaculate. If this method is used nine times a day, the ailment can be cured in ten days. Exhaustion of qi refers to the loss of "qi," which is considered the most essential element for maintaining life. Unrestrained sexual activity will lead to a severe imbalance between body and mind. Regarding the position for treating this condition, it is the "Monkey-like" position among the nine methods, which is primarily initiated by the woman. As mentioned above, the flexed position is considered a normal position. This activity can avoid the sustained excitement and fatigue caused by positions with extremely high intimacy. For male pleasure, it differs from the "Monkey-like" position, but it strongly emphasizes the woman's initiative. If excessive sexual activity weakens one's vitality, leading to neurasthenia such as difficulty opening the eyes, then it is necessary to change the pleasure position and increase intimacy so that the woman takes the initiative.

The second of the seven detriments—Ejaculation of Semen.

This refers to the loss of semen due to excessive desire and unbalanced yin and yang, resulting in premature ejaculation. Furthermore, intercourse while intoxicated or full of alcohol can cause shortness of breath and disordered breathing, damaging the lungs and leading to symptoms such as coughing, conjunctivitis, thirst, dry throat, and difficulty urinating. (During intercourse, emotions such as joy, anger, sorrow, and fever are exacerbated, and prolonged intercourse can even lead to impotence.) The treatment involves the woman lying supine with her knees bent, and the man gently inserting his penis one and a half inches into

her vagina. The woman should then move herself to release her semen before the man enters. Do not rush the intercourse; repeat this nine times a day for ten days to cure. "The second detriment is called 'Ejaculation of Semen.' This refers to the loss of semen due to burning desire and unbalanced yin and yang, resulting in premature ejaculation. Moreover, intercourse while intoxicated can cause shortness of breath and disordered breathing, damaging the lungs and leading to symptoms such as coughing, conjunctivitis, thirst, dry throat, and difficulty urinating. (During this illness, emotions such as joy, anger, sorrow, and fever are also exacerbated, and prolonged intercourse can lead to impotence.)" "The treatment position is for the woman to lie supine with her knees bent, and the man gently inserting his penis one and a half inches into her vagina. The woman should then move herself to release her semen. The man should not be overly eager. This should be repeated nine times a day for ten days to cure." The woman bends her knees and intertwines her legs with the man's. The man inserts his penis about one and a half inches, causing the woman's hips to sway. Stop when the woman's vaginal fluids flow, avoiding ejaculation. Using this method, having intercourse nine times a day can cure the aforementioned symptoms in ten days. "Ejaculation is a physical symptom of exhaustion and premature ejaculation. Excessive sexual activity, especially after drinking, can lead to respiratory system imbalances, lung damage, and even long-term impotence. Regarding the positions for treating these conditions, a comfortable facing position and shallow penetration are recommended to prevent premature ejaculation. The woman should take the lead, reducing the man's workload. Because intercourse requires energy equivalent to breathing and circulatory system activity, it is essential to study sexual positions to prevent a vicious cycle of holding back breath and ejaculation. Having sex after drinking..." This can cause an imbalance in body and mind, leading to long-term impotence. If the above-mentioned positions are used during intercourse, these ailments can be cured in ten days. For women, this position gives them control; it also strengthens the abdominal muscles, which is very effective in treating impotence. Simultaneously, one can enjoy sexual pleasure while simultaneously treating illness – a prime example of the wisdom of the Chinese.

The third of the seven harms – "Deprivation of the pulse"

– refers to the inability to achieve an erection. Forcing intercourse when the penis is not firm leads to exhaustion of essence and energy. Intercourse after a full meal also damages the spleen, causing indigestion, impotence, and lack of sperm. The treatment involves the woman lying flat with her legs hooked around the man's buttocks, while the man sits on the mat. The woman should let the semen flow naturally, and the man should not rush. This should be done nine times a day for ten days to cure

. "The third harm is called 'deprivation of the pulse' (a state of irregular pulse throughout the body)." Deprivation of the pulse refers to the penis not being erect, but forcing intercourse, resulting in premature ejaculation and exhaustion of energy. Intercourse after a full meal damages the spleen. Indigestion leads to penile atrophy and loss of essence. The treatment position involves the woman lying supine with her legs wrapped around the man's buttocks. The man supports his body with his hands on the bed, inserting his penis and inducing movement in the woman. Once the woman is satisfied, the position should be stopped. Although the man may not experience pleasure, this position, repeated nine times a day for ten days, can cure the aforementioned symptoms. Indigestion is caused by improper sexual practices. In Traditional Chinese Medicine, the spleen is the digestive and absorptive organ. Dry throat due to seminal emission or damage to the spleen due to pulse deficiency, leading to indigestion, are all caused by disharmony within the digestive system. There is a Chinese saying: "Don't overeat, or you'll live longer." This implies that gaining weight can shorten lifespan by three years. Lack of energy is also evidence of spleen damage.

Constipation caused by indigestion is also a red flag for spleen health, leading to signs of weakness and aging. Drinking a glass of water on an empty stomach in the morning is very effective in relieving constipation, as constipation is a major enemy of sexual function. This is something to be very careful about. Foods beneficial to the spleen include soybeans and beef, while the most famous medicinal herb is Poria cocos.

The fourth of the seven detriments is "Qi leakage." Qi leakage refers to the leakage of vital energy from the body.

It occurs when a person is exhausted and sweating profusely, and then engages in intercourse before the sweat has dried, resulting in abdominal heat and dry lips. The treatment involves the man lying supine with his body straight, while the woman sits facing the man in a leg-straddling position. The woman then uses her knees and shins to support her body while gently contracting her vulva to hold the penis, thus engaging in hip movements. Once the woman is satisfied, the act ends, and the man should not ejaculate. Using this position and method, having intercourse nine times a day can cure the aforementioned ailments in ten days. "Having intercourse before recovering from labor can cause abdominal and digestive problems, and dry mouth. This female-on-top position, with the man riding on his back, is the least tiring for the man, requiring minimal exercise. This is similar to the 'Rabbit Sucking Hair' position in the Nine Methods. In my country, this position has been described as 'inverted lotus flower.' The lotus seed is considered the best tonic for strengthening the body and enhancing sexual function. Regarding foods that promote longevity, the 'Compendium of Materia Medica' records that long-term consumption of this medicine can strengthen the body, eliminate all diseases, make the body light, and prolong life." The fifth of the seven types of damage— the five types of damage to the organs—is called "the organ injury." This refers to injury to the organs. Those with organ injury experience difficulty urinating and defecating. If sexual intercourse is forced before recovery, it harms the liver. Even with gentle movements, without proper consideration of timing and pace, it leads to fatigue, blurred vision , and impaired circulation. Over time, this can result in paralysis, impotence, and inability to stand. The treatment involves the man lying supine, the woman straddling his legs, leaning slightly forward, and slowly inserting her penis. The woman should not move herself; the semen should not be released. The man should not rush. Nine times a day for ten days for recovery. The fifth type of damage is called "the organ injury," which refers to injury to the organs (referring to chronic internal organ diseases). Patients with organ injury experience difficulty urinating and defecating. If sexual intercourse is forced before recovery after exhaustion, it harms the liver. Even with gentle movements, without considering the appropriate pace, it leads to fatigue, blurred vision, and impaired circulation. Over time, this can result in paralysis, impotence, and inability to stand. The treatment position is for the man to lie supine, the woman straddling his legs, leaning slightly forward, and slowly inserting her penis. At the same time, the woman's waist should be exercised. Stop when the woman is satisfied. The man should not ejaculate. Even if the man does not achieve orgasm, using this method for intercourse nine times, the above-mentioned symptoms can be cured after ten days. To ensure good circulatory function, blood flow must be smooth. Maintaining a balance of Qi and blood will allow for recovery. Utilizing these principles and breathing techniques can strengthen the penis. For example, in the bathroom, while taking deep breaths, grasp the base of the penis with your hand, exhale forcefully, and remove your fingers. Repeat this action for several minutes. The sixth of the seven losses—the hundred blockages— is called the hundred blockages. The hundred blockages refer to excessive sexual activity with women, unrestrained intercourse, exhausting one's essence and energy, and forcefully ejaculating until all semen is released, leading to a hundred diseases and thirst. The method of treatment is for the man to lie upright, the woman to straddle him, and the man to lie prone on the mat, causing the penis to sway and the semen to stop. The man should not rush. Nine times a day for ten days will cure the condition. The six losses are called the hundred blockages, which means the pulse in the body is blocked. The so-called hundred blockages... This refers to a situation where a woman's lustful desires are overwhelming, and she engages in intercourse several times without restraint. The man's vital energy is depleted, and although he desires to ejaculate, he is unable to do so due to exhaustion. Consequently, various ailments arise, including dry throat, urinary retention, and dizziness. The recommended position for treating this condition is for the man to lie supine, with the woman straddling him, leaning forward, supporting herself with her hands on the bed. The woman then uses her vagina to suck and contract the penis, and continues to move it until satisfaction is achieved. "Stop the act, the man should not ejaculate, but if this method is used nine times a day, the above-mentioned diseases can be cured in ten days." The seventh of the seven losses—blood depletion. Blood depletion refers to those who exert themselves physically, sweat profusely, and then engage in intercourse. Afterwards, lie down and thrust deeply to quell the blood loss. The treatment involves the woman lying upright with her buttocks raised and legs extended, while the man kneels between her and thrusts deeply, causing the woman to shake her body. This is because the sudden and intense stimulation causes the disease to worsen. If the treatment continues, the blood and qi will be depleted, leading to weak skin, tightness, penile pain, dampness in the scrotum, and leakage of semen. The man should not rush. Nine times a day for ten days will cure the disease. "The seven losses are called... " Blood depletion. Blood depletion refers to the exhaustion and sweating that often result from strenuous work and walking. If this is followed by sexual intercourse, and even after initial satisfaction, further penetration leads to the depletion of vital essence, the disease erupts. This results in continuous ejaculation, blood depletion, complete loss of vital energy, skin discoloration, urethral pain, scrotal dampness, and hematuria. The treatment position is as follows: the woman lies supine with her buttocks supported by an object to create a raised area—legs spread. The man kneels between her legs and penetrates, causing the woman's hips to move. Intercourse ceases when the woman is satisfied. The man should not ejaculate. Using this method, nine times a day for ten days can cure these symptoms. Thus, the fourth, fifth, and sixth types of damage are caused by internal imbalances, excessive sexual activity, and unrestrained sexual behavior. These symptoms can be cured by the comfortable female-on-top position. Only the seventh type of damage requires the male-on-top position. The seven sexual positions share a common feature: the woman takes the lead, preventing the man from ejaculating, and engaging in intercourse nine times a day. If this method can be applied, allowing the woman to take the lead, changing positions, altering stimulation areas, and prolonging the duration, such methods represent highly intelligent practices. Traditional Chinese medicine believes the eyes correspond to the liver, hence the frequent dizziness. The eyes are not only a "window" to internal organ dysfunction but also a "window" to sexual activity—a fairly scientific explanation. Chinese people consider black eyes to be a sign of passion and exuberance, while women with calm corners of their eyes and a cherry blossom-like hue around their eyes are considered to have abundant vital energy and healthy internal organs. Without internal organ dysfunction, sexual life will naturally be normal. Women whose whites of their eyes appear cherry blossom-like indicate passion; their blood circulation is good, and their vulva often feels moderately warm, due to strong sexual desire. Many modern women have wrinkles at the corners of their eyes, indicating a red signal in their sex life, as the corners of the eyes correspond to the heart; therefore, a red signal from the heart indicates a problem. A woman whose eyelids twitch incessantly is often experiencing sexual problems, as the spleen is traditionally associated with the eyelids. Therefore, anxiety indicates a problem with the endocrine glands. To enhance libido, one must first ensure the health of the internal organs. This chapter emphasizes the application of the principle of "touching without ejaculation," and then advocates using sexual positions to treat ailments. Of course, this not only involves paying attention to sexual positions but also to how to take tonics under certain physiological symptoms. For example, for decreased energy or incomplete recovery of sexual function, quail is a tonic that is very effective with long-term use. Empress Wu Zetian of the Tang Dynasty, even past seventy, remained energetic. To prevent her energy from declining, she went to great lengths. When Empress Wu was with her beloved courtiers, she would always drink and make merry. A book called "The Unofficial Biography of Wu Zetian" mentions a potent wine called "Empress Wu's Wine," which she supposedly invented. But what exactly was Empress Wu's Wine? Cai Yifan said: The main ingredient is still quail. A whole quail (or three pieces of tongue if using) is added to 35-degree shochu, but the quail's feathers, head, and intestines must be removed. In addition, prepare 50 grams of Polygonum multiflorum, 10 grams of deer antler, and 300 grams of Korean ginseng. Polygonum multiflorum is also produced in Japan, and its essence was used to make a popular aphrodisiac drink in the early Showa era. Deer antler is made from the antlers of a deer species found in eastern China and eastern Siberia. Ginseng and deer antler are two major ingredients in aphrodisiacs. The Wuhou wine is made by placing the above ingredients in a bowl, adding shochu, steaming for 50 minutes, then cooling, and sun-drying in a suitable place during the day to allow air to seep in. Then add some shochu, evaporate for another 30 minutes, cool, and sun-dry for another 20 minutes. Finally, soak everything in fruit wine, add some honey, seal, and store in a dark place. It can be consumed after three months.

According to traditional dietary methods, daily consumption can prevent illness. For example, some methods in Taoist practices recommend a diet to enhance physical strength: Job's tears in spring, mung beans in summer, lotus seeds in autumn, and peanuts in winter, each consumed regularly for three months. Recently, Job's tears have been used as a preventative medicine for cancer. Job's tears are also effective in strengthening the liver and acting as a diuretic and stomachic. Additionally, it can promote clear skin in cases of beriberi and diabetes. To prepare Job's tears, add four grams of licorice root to three cups of water and boil for thirty minutes, or half a bowl of the decoction. Take one dose thirty minutes before breakfast, then boil the remaining dregs again for another thirty minutes before bedtime, for a total of two doses per day. In the past, some people taking the imperial examinations often ate walnuts, as they are considered a representative tonic food, effective in treating insomnia and neurosis. According to Cai Yiluo, eating the walnut peel when hungry is also beneficial for strengthening the genitals. Because of its stimulating properties, one should be consumed every five days until twenty are consumed daily, then one should be consumed daily for one hundred days as a cycle, repeating this process. It can be considered a medicine to strengthen the virility.

Section Thirty: Thirty Sexual Techniques of Dongxuanzi

This chapter is the famous Dongxuanzi Theory of Positions and Postures. Dongxuanzi was the pseudonym of Zhang Ding, a Daoist of the Tang Dynasty. The thirty techniques summarize the most basic sexual positions in married life. Some of them overlap with the nine techniques mentioned earlier, but while the nine techniques are mostly for health preservation, the thirty techniques are mainly for pleasure.

Dong Xuanzi said: "There are about thirty kinds of intercourse positions, including forward and backward bending and stretching, up and down bending and stretching, etc. Although they are generally the same, they also have slight differences. Therefore, these thirty methods can be said to have covered all methods without any omissions."

(1) Xu Chou Mou: "The state of two people embracing each other intimately."

(2) Shen Qian Juan: "The state of two people holding each other's hands tightly."

(3) Bao Sai Yu: "Describes the state of a woman's pubic mound being excited like a fish exposing its gills to the air and struggling."

(4) Qilin Jiao: "Describes the state of a penis being excited like the horn of a Qilin."

The above (1) to (4) types belong to the prelude stage of sexual behavior. They are not separate and independent, but exist simultaneously in a series of behaviors.

(5) Silkworm Entanglement: "The woman lies on her back with her arms wrapped around the man's neck and her legs crossed behind his back. The man holds the woman's neck with both hands, kneels between the woman's legs, and inserts his penis."

(6) Dragon's Twisting: "The woman lies on her back with her legs bent and raised high. The man kneels between the woman's legs and pushes her legs forward with his left hand so that the woman's toes can bend behind her breasts. Then he inserts his penis."

(7) Fish and Eyes: "The man and woman lie side by side. The woman places one leg on the man's body and they face each other, sucking on each other's tongues. The man straightens his legs, pulls up the woman's upper leg with his hands, and inserts his penis." (8) Swallow's Heart: "The woman lies on her back with her legs straight and apart. The man lies on the woman's abdomen with both hands wrapped around her neck. The woman holds the man's waist with both hands and then inserts his penis."

(9) Jade Crossing: "The woman lies on her back with her legs bent. The man squats behind her with his legs apart and between her legs. He holds her waist with both hands so that his penis can attack her clitoris."

(10) Mandarin Duck Union: "The woman lies on her side with her legs raised. One leg is placed on the man's leg. The man rides on the woman's lower leg from behind, kneeling on one foot and stepping forward with the other foot to insert his penis."

(11) Somersault Butterfly: "The man lies on his back with his legs straight and apart. The woman sits on the man's body facing him and presses her hands on his knees before inserting her penis."

(12) Flying Owl: "The man lies on his back with his legs straight and apart. The woman sits on the man's body with her back to him and lowers her head so that her penis can be inserted."

(13) Reclining Pine: "The woman lies on her back with her legs raised and crossed. The man holds her waist with both hands, and the woman also holds the man's waist with both hands before inserting his penis." (14

) Bamboo by the Altar: "The man and woman stand facing each other, embracing each other mouth to mouth, and insert their penises deeply."

(15) Luan Shuang Wu: "Among the two people, one lies supine and the other lies prone, facing each other, and inserts their penises."

(16) Feng Jiang Chu: "The woman is tall and fat, and a young man is used to have intercourse with her, like a female phoenix nursing its chicks."

(17) Hai Ou Xiang: "The woman lies supine on the bed, and the man stands by the bed, lifts the woman's legs, and inserts his penis." (18)

Ye Ma Yue: "The woman lies supine, with her legs on the man's left and right shoulders, and then deeply inserts his penis."

(19) Ji Cheng Zu: "The woman lies supine, and the man squats behind her thighs, his left hand holding her neck, his right hand supporting her legs, and inserts his penis."

Generally, married couples, or men and women who have enough sexual experience, have lost all curiosity about sex. Especially people living in modern life, have long been bored with the monotony of daily life, coupled with the stress of life, economic pressure and the impact of childbirth, all of which have greatly reduced people's enjoyment of sex. Even if most people live their lives in a routine and conventional way, their lack of understanding of sexual pleasure keeps their sex life stuck at the stage of "releasing sexual desire". If men can actively change their sexual positions and cooperate with each other to experience the fun of the changes, their sex life will go beyond the original need of "releasing sexual desire". Unless there are physiological obstacles, changing sexual positions is absolutely beneficial and harmless to both men and women, both physiologically and psychologically.

Section 31 Basic Sexual Positions

(I) Man on Top

(1) Normal Position The woman lies on her back with her legs slightly bent and apart. The man lies on top of her with his knees and hands on the bed to support his body. His legs are placed between the woman's legs. The man on top position is the position in which the man has the initiative. Therefore, this position can satisfy the man's self-esteem and sense of superiority; while the woman can get the satisfaction of caressing and being protected. However, in this position, because the angles of the vagina and penis are not the same, the penis may sometimes slip towards the anus during penetration. If the woman elevates her lower back with a pillow while the man pushes the penis upwards slightly, penetration can be achieved smoothly. The missionary position can be considered the basic form of all sexual positions. Many other positions can be derived from this position.

Therefore, if the normal position is not suitable due to differences in physical condition or other reasons, other positions can be appropriately changed. But no matter which position is adopted, when reaching orgasm, both men and women usually want to hold each other tightly. As a result of sexual behavior, the normal position can be said to be the most natural position. However, the disadvantage of this position is that its contact sensitivity is not the best. Therefore, the man who has the initiative needs to hook the woman's waist with one hand and caress her with the other hand. Also, this position is less suitable for women with short and heavy penises, incomplete erection, abdominal obesity, or when the woman is pregnant.

(2) The extended position

is combined in the same order as the normal position. Then the woman gently closes her legs and straightens them, and the man clamps the woman's legs with his legs. Because the woman's thighs and the man's thighs outside give moderate pressure from the outside, the vaginal opening is small and tight, and the penis is clamped. As a result, the penis is greatly stimulated, which increases the man's pleasure. Also, because the back of the penis stimulates the clitoris, or because the man's pelvic pressure increases, the woman's sexiness is also enhanced. However, because the woman straightens her legs in the extended position, the degree of penetration is worse than in the normal position. Therefore, this position is not suitable for women with short and shallow vaginas or underdeveloped uteruses. Because the vaginal opening is narrowed, the glans penis is strongly resisted by the posterior vaginal wall. Therefore, this position is very helpful for men with reduced energy and erectile dysfunction. Because the penetration is shallow, the penis is easy to slip out of the perineum or anus during intercourse. Men with reduced energy will have their penis slip out every day and will soon atrophy, making it impossible to have intercourse. Also, because the woman has to support the man's weight, this position should be avoided during pregnancy, just like the normal position. In the extended position, the man usually clamps the woman's legs with his legs, and sometimes he can place his legs parallel on the woman's legs. Because the man does not support his body with his knees, the woman has to support the man's weight. If the man is overweight, it is a burden for the woman.

(3) High-waisted type:

The woman lies on her back and the man is on top. Like the extended position, this is a variation of the normal position. Its characteristics: The woman elevates her lower back, and the man's position should be adjusted accordingly. The woman uses a lumbar pillow or lies on her back, using the man's upper legs as a platform to slightly lift her lower back. In this situation, the man supports the woman's lower back with his upper legs and places his arms under her lower back for support. When lying in bed, the woman's lower back can be placed on the edge of the bed, with her legs hanging down and slightly apart. The man, adjusting to the height of the bed and the woman's lower back, adopts a standing or kneeling position, positioned between the woman's legs. In the high-lumen position, because the man's upper body is upright, the penis enters horizontally without the obstruction of the man's knees, resulting in deeper penetration. Also, in this position, the penis enters along the anterior vaginal wall, thus minimizing pain during the first sexual encounter. For newlyweds whose pain has not yet subsided, or for those with vaginal vulva inflammation due to the stimulation of the first intercourse, this position can alleviate pain or reduce the burden on the inflamed area. However, because the man's upper body is upright, there is very little clitoral stimulation, and the contact sensation is not ideal. For women, the high-waisted position is a strenuous posture, so it is too much of a burden for women who are not strong. Therefore, it is not suitable to use when tired or weak, and it will also cause tension in the abdominal muscles of women, so it is not suitable to use during pregnancy. Because this position has the nature of agility and skill, it is very suitable as a love expression, and will make you feel provocative excitement.

(4) Flexed position

The woman lies on her back with her legs bent at about 135 degrees and her legs are placed on her chest. The man lies on her as in the normal position, with his arms straight or bent, his upper body straight, or he can kneel. When the flexed position is adopted, the penis and the vaginal opening are almost at a right angle, so the penetration is deep and the semen is directly shot into the cervix. Because it is easy to store in the cervix, it is easy to get pregnant. When the flexed position is adopted, the man can move freely and can see the woman's body and feel the stimulation and excitement, but because he cannot rub the clitoris, the woman may not be very comfortable. This position is not suitable for women who are having their first time or who have a short vagina.

(II) Woman on Top

(1) Reverse Position The reverse position is the opposite of the normal position. The man lies supine with his legs apart, and the woman kneels down and lies prone between him. As with the normal position, the direction of the vaginal axis is not the same as the direction of the penis's entry. Therefore, the penis may sometimes slip out towards the anus during insertion. Thus, the man needs to bend his knees and raise his waist to enhance stimulation of the clitoris. In this position, the woman lies prone with her breasts hanging down, making them easier to caress. It is said that the reverse position makes it easier for the woman to reach orgasm than the normal position. This is because the woman's upper body is kept as straight as possible, and the uterus and vaginal area directly impact and contact the glans penis, thus enhancing stimulation. Therefore, those who frequently use the normal position sometimes find the reverse position incredibly different and enjoyable. Since the positions of the man and woman are reversed, the initiative is transferred to the woman. In this position, the woman's movement is more suitable for a straight back-and-forth motion rather than up-and-down movement. That is, along the male thigh or abdominal wall, with a straight line and a plane, to enhance the stimulation of the male genitals or the stimulation of the self.

(2) Riding position

Riding position refers to the male lying on his back and the female riding on his back. In this position, the vaginal axis is opposite to the vagina, so it is easy to combine. When combining, the vaginal opening is downward, and the semen is easy to flow downward after ejaculation. Therefore, there are fewer sperm entering the cervix. Although complete contraception cannot be expected, it can achieve contraception to a certain extent. Riding position can give women a fresh feeling, and at the same time, the rotation movement is free, and can obtain the satisfaction that cannot be obtained when lying on the back. If the woman does not put her knees on, but adopts a squatting position with her legs clamping the male body, the movement is more free. In the riding position, the female upper body is more upright than in the reverse position, and the face is separated from the upper body, so the male can see the female body. Therefore, the female's shyness will be more stimulated than in the reverse position. If the female is too shy, the male can close his eyes and not look.

(III) Side-lying position

(1) Front-lying position The

front-lying position is a position in which the man and woman face each other and lie horizontally. The man can caress the woman's body with his right hand. The woman is not completely lying on her side; her upper body is almost supine, and her lower body lies horizontally. The woman's right leg is usually placed under the man's waist due to the pressure of his weight. This position can reduce fatigue for both men and women. The disadvantage is that the man cannot move freely, and the woman's right leg has to bear the weight of the man. The connection is shallow, and the contact is not very strong. This position is ideal when many people sleep in the same room.

(2) Rear-lying position The

rear-lying position is a position in which the man hugs the woman from behind while she lies horizontally. In this situation, if the man's chest is pressed against the woman's back, it is difficult to connect. Therefore, the man needs to straighten his body backward and separate his upper body. If the woman bends her knees slightly, it will be easier to connect.

When adopting this position, the man caresses the woman with his right hand and takes the left side, while the woman takes the right side. At this time, the man should bend his right leg and place it on the woman's leg, or make a triangle shape. In the rear-entry position, if the woman bends her legs and squats forward while the man straightens backward, the penetration is deep. However, the stimulation of the woman is limited to the posterior edge of the vaginal opening and the anterior wall of the vagina, while the clitoris is outside the stimulation range. Therefore, the man must simultaneously caress the clitoris and breasts to compensate for the lack of stimulation. During pregnancy, no matter how careful one is, the abdomen will always be compressed during intercourse in the facing position, which is harmful to the fetus. If the rear-entry position is adopted, there is no such concern. Moreover, the man's body can be pressed tightly together or the body can be adjusted to achieve a deeper penetration, so the vagina or cervix will not be damaged. During pregnancy, the cervix gradually moves closer to the pelvis, and the vagina becomes shorter. At this time, it is dangerous to insert the penis deeply. Therefore, the rear-entry position with shallow penetration can be said to be suitable during pregnancy. In addition, this position is mild and does not cause excessive excitement, so it can also be used during menstruation. However, if the woman suffers from anesthesia, it is not suitable to use this position due to poor sensitivity.

(IV) Rear-facing position

(1) Rear-entry position

In the opposite position to the normal position, the woman lies prone first, followed by the man. The legs of both partners are positioned the same as in the normal position; the woman can open or close her legs, while the man, depending on the situation, places his legs inside or outside the woman's. In the rear-entry position, the subcutaneous fat of the woman's buttocks acts as a cushion, mitigating the impact of the man's thrusts on the pelvis. If both partners are thin, the pelvis may impact against each other or touch the ischial tuberosity in the normal or riding positions, causing pain and difficulty concentrating. The rear-entry position avoids this problem. Therefore, this position is suitable for thin individuals. In the rear-entry position, because the woman lies prone, the vaginal opening opens downwards, while the man's penis points forward and downwards, creating a reverse orientation. Therefore, during penetration, the penis is bent like a bow, resulting in shallower penetration and a risk of slippage if the thrusting is vigorous. Moreover, when engaging in intercourse from behind, the main stimulation center for women is limited to the perineum, frenulum of the labia, and the posterior edge of the vaginal opening, without the clitoris. For women, the contact sensation is insufficient, and their sexual arousal is not free. For men, there is a visual effect. The stimulation is greater than that obtained in the lying position, and men can caress women with both hands.

(2) Knee-elbow position:

The woman lies prone with her knees on the bed, leaning her upper body forward. The man kneels behind her, keeping his upper body straight, in a semi-sitting position. The man's arms encircle the woman's buttocks to facilitate intercourse. The woman's upper body leans forward, and the man should cooperate, otherwise the penis will slip out. However, once intercourse occurs, the glans of the penis strongly contacts the posterior wall of the vagina, and the penis is compressed into an arch shape, increasing the friction. The man is very handsome. Furthermore, due to the strong stimulation of the clitoris by the lower part of the penis, the pleasure is increased. In this position, the woman can be said to be idle, with everything being initiated by the man. However, the woman can move her hip muscles or make some rotating movements to show that she also has desire, which is used to arouse the man's lust. Also, in this position, the woman's vagina is open due to vaginal pressure. Because of the intake of air, the vagina is relaxed or the air is squeezed out during intercourse, which makes an unpleasant sound.

(V) Sitting position

(1) Front sitting position

The man sits on the bed, usually with his legs spread apart, and the woman sits facing him on his thighs, and they can hug each other. In particular, the man can hug the woman's waist, and the woman can hug the man's neck for stability. Because the woman spreads her legs apart, the vaginal opening is exposed, and the man's penis can easily enter. Moreover, once the union is complete, the man hugs the woman's lower body with both hands. Due to the tilt of the pelvis, the woman's clitoris is stimulated, the vaginal walls contract, and the penis gets a tight contraction. It can also enhance the erection and make it last longer. At the same time, this position allows both parties to press their chests together. The man can put his face into the woman's arms, so he can lock his penis in place and suckle her breasts. Furthermore, the man can freely rock the woman's pelvis by moving his legs up and down and hooking his buttocks, so the depth of penetration can be freely adjusted. This position is also suitable for intercourse during pregnancy. The man's legs are in a half-kneeling position, with a shallow penetration. During the thrusting motion, the clitoris can be stimulated to compensate for the lack of contact sensitivity, and the abdomen will not be compressed, making intercourse safe. If the woman is obese and wants to use this position, she can straighten her upper body backward and separate, but if she straightens too much, the penis will penetrate too deeply. When the man is obese, he can straighten his body backward, but it is not suitable.

(2) Rear-sitting

position: The man sits upright, and the woman sits on his thighs with her back to him. Usually, the woman's legs are placed outside, but she can also sit upright. Her arms are placed near her thighs. The man's arms are wrapped around the woman's waist and caress her breasts. In this position, the man kneels on the bed and reaches out from behind to wrap around the woman's waist or breasts. In this position, sexual intercourse can be performed freely. If the woman cooperates properly, the duration can be prolonged. At the same time, the woman can lead the sexual intercourse, making forward, backward, rotating, and diagonal movements. When in the rear-sitting position, the vaginal axis and the direction and angle of penile entry are roughly the same, but because the woman bends forward and faces away from the man, a deeper penetration can be achieved.

In this position, because the woman's legs straddle the man's outside, her external genitalia are exposed. Therefore, the man can caress the breasts and clitoris at the same time. Stimulating the clitoris with fingers is more effective than stimulation by pressure or friction during intercourse. When using a chair, the woman sits on the man's lap with her back to him. She places her legs outside and sits with her legs parallel. To achieve a deeper penetration, the woman must place her legs outside, as her genitals will open due to straddling. On a sofa chair, whether high or low, if it is not stable, the woman can place her legs on the bed and make up-and-down or rotating movements. In this case, placing a table in front of the woman for her to lean against will enhance the effect.

(VI) Standing position:

The man approaches from behind the woman while maintaining a standing position. When both are standing, penetration can be difficult. The woman should slightly bend her knees and place her hands on them, while the man should slightly bend his waist to facilitate penetration. The woman should slightly separate her legs, bend her upper body forward slightly, and protrude her buttocks backward for stability. The man should place his legs on the inside of the woman's thighs, bend slightly forward, and enter her waist diagonally forward and upward, placing his arms on her breasts or embracing her lower abdomen. Maintaining breast movement and body stability, he should alternately hook and relax to achieve the desired effect of intercourse.
