Friday arrived quickly. In the afternoon, Su Ling, Li Meini, Tom Cruise, and I drove to a beach outside Xiamen.

Li Meini had taken a day off from work for this vacation, and I skipped half a day of class. We first picked up Tom Cruise from the train station, who had come from Fuzhou, before heading to our destination.

Afterwards, they each married and had children. They made a pact that our two families would be friends for generations to come, and that our children would be like siblings. So, from a young age, my sisters Li Meini and Li Meiting, along with I, were instilled by our respective parents with the idea that we were blood siblings and should always love each other.

For a long time, our two families were as close as one. When Li Meini was five, her mother passed away from illness. At that time, Li's father hadn't remarried and was busy with work, so she lived with us for a long time and was cared for by my mother. After Li's father married my current godmother and had Li Meiting, because he was a policeman and too busy with work, my parents let Li Meini live with us for many more years. In a sense, Li Meini practically grew up in my family.

When Su Ling and Brother Tang heard this, they both exclaimed that the relationship between our two families was truly rare, even better than the kinship relationships of many other families. Everyone laughed. I then asked Tom how he met Li Meini. I had only heard that he had helped Li Meini in a heroic act, but I didn't know the specifics.

Tom said that once when he was on a business trip to Xiamen, he happened to see Li Meini and her best friend shopping. He noticed a pervert taking pictures up Li Meini's skirt with his phone, so he went up and grabbed the pervert. In the struggle, the pervert's two accomplices emerged.
