[Wuxia] The Jade Bow and the Cloud Sea (Complete) - 17

    page views:1  Publication date:2023-03-24
In Chapter 23 of Liang Yusheng's *The Jade Bow and the Cloud Sea*, Jin

Shiyi, increasingly puzzled and unable to sleep, found Li Shengnan, perhaps due to exhaustion, fast asleep.
He took a thin blanket and gently covered her, thinking, "She's so young, yet she's endured so many dangers, like volcanic eruptions and storms.
It's truly pitiful!" He then thought, "Of the three women, I dislike her the most, yet I find myself so close to her. Fate
is truly ." Suddenly, a voice seemed to ask him, "Hey, do you really dislike her?" Jin Shiyi's heart skipped a beat,
and he too became confused.
As dawn approached, Jin Shiyi finally drifted off to sleep, but was soon awakened by a noise from the front cabin, as if someone was making
a disturbance. Li Shengnan had already gotten up and smiled at him, "Let's go watch the show!"
Stepping out of the front cabin, they saw the three demons surrounding Meng Shentong. Kunlun Sanren said, "Old Meng, you said you had an antidote, please
give us the courage." It turned out they had been poisoned by Li Shengnan's Five Poison Needles. After the great storm at sea, they were all
exhausted , like someone seriously ill or injured. Their bodies' resistance was weakened, and they felt a dull pain
in their wounds. Kunlun Sanren's wounds had even begun to fester.
Meng Shentong actually didn't have an antidote; he only knew of such poison needles from a fragment of the Qiao family's secret manual. He had only lied to them, saying he also had an antidote, to
prevent the demons from overwhelmingly siding with Jin Shiyi.
Desperate for a solution, Meng Shentong spread his hands and said, "My antidote has already been washed away by the waves. With such a huge
storm , escaping was the priority; how could I possibly preserve the antidote?" The three demons were skeptical. Yun Lingzi said, "So you're
just going to watch us die? Old Meng, your internal strength is profound; please help us heal our injuries temporarily. Even if we're still crippled, at least
we can save our lives." Meng Shentong did indeed possess such skill, but he thought that if he expended his energy to heal them,
he wouldn't be able to defeat Jin Shiyi. If Jin Shiyi seized the opportunity to attack, the monk Jianfa alone couldn't withstand him and would surely throw them all into the sea.
Just then, Jin and Li arrived. Meng Shentong, seizing the opportunity, laughed and said, "The one who tied the knot must untie it, Miss
Li and not hold grudges. You injured them with the Five Poison Needles, so please hand over the antidote."
The three demons had the same idea, but were too embarrassed to plead with Li Shengnan. Hearing Meng Shentong's words, their eyes all turned to
Li Shengnan . Li Shengnan imitated Meng Shentong, spreading her hands and coldly saying, "I swam here from the sea. The scroll
was soaked to the bone and almost couldn't be preserved, let alone the antidote?" The three demons were greatly disappointed, exchanging glances, their eyes gradually revealing
a fierce glint !
Jin Shiyi suddenly said, "Shengnan, when you were packing up the other day, I remember you had a medicine pouch on the clothes
rack in . Try looking for it; see if there's any antidote for the Five Poison Needles inside." Li Shengnan was incredibly clever; she immediately knew Jin Shiyi
was trying to help her out. However, she couldn't quite understand why he wanted to save these three demons, so she followed his lead
and said, "Oh right, I almost forgot. That medicine pouch might still have that antidote."
Li Shengnan went to the back cabin and came out smiling, saying, "You're lucky; the antidote in the pouch
hasn't even gotten damp." Actually, the antidote was just a few small pills, which she had already wrapped in oiled paper and hidden inside her openwork belt
, always carrying it with her.
The three demons were overjoyed and each took an antidote. Li Shengnan then used a magnet to remove the golden needles from their bodies and
applied a few drops of antiseptic and antiseptic powder. After a short while, Li Shengnan said, "Feel
between the seventh and eighth vertebrae of your spine, then take a breath and see." The three demons did as she instructed and found their internal energy flowing smoothly;
the places they pressed no longer caused pain. These three demons were experts and knew that Li Shengnan's treatment was indeed the right one. They
were extremely grateful to Jin Shiyi, and their resentment towards Li Shengnan greatly diminished.
At noon, another storm struck. Jin Shiyi replaced the monk Jianfa and took the helm himself. Li Shengnan quickly brought out
two water vats and placed them at the bow. Jin Shiyi steered steadily, and the ship's rocking was not as severe as the day before. Soon
the storm subsided, and the two water vats were filled with rainwater. Everyone had fresh water to quench their thirst and no longer needed to eat raw fish.
From then on, Jin Shiyi, Li Shengnan, and the few demons sailed together at sea, coexisting peacefully. They gradually became more friendly,
chatting , and their relationship improved considerably. Only the monk Jianfa resented Jin Shiyi for leaving his disciple to instruct him and scolded him, remaining
cold and distant towards Jin Shiyi. Meng Shentong, on the other hand, seemed quite fond of Jin Shiyi, sometimes even discussing martial arts with him.
However they remained wary of each other.
After many days of sailing, the three demons gradually became accustomed to the sea's waves, and Jin Shiyi taught them how to steer
and row . With a few more people to take turns looking after the ship, Jin Shiyi found life much easier. However, when encountering large storms,
he still had to steer himself.
More than twenty days later, one day Jin Shiyi looked out from the ship's top and saw a faint green hue appearing in the distance to the east.
Jin Shiyi exclaimed, "This is the island where Qiao Beiming lived two hundred years ago! Ha, the volcano on the island has gone out..." The
demons, hearing that the island was in sight, were overjoyed. They worked together to row faster, and before sunset, they indeed spotted
an island ahead of them.
They moored the boat and dropped anchor. On the island stood a large mountain, its summit a deep crimson like blood, barren of vegetation,
with a faint smell of sulfur in the wind, though the slopes were lush and green. The island was covered in towering trees, a veritable jungle in the sea. From the forest
came occasional heart-wrenching roars, the source of which was unknown. Wildflowers bloomed everywhere, vibrant as clouds, their fragrance
strange, almost fishy. Snake Island inspired fear, but this island was mysterious,
especially the large mountain; a few glances at it left them uneasy.
As night fell, Meng Shentong and the others, though eager to find Qiao Beiming's martial arts secrets, dared not go ashore. They stayed on
the boat again that night, their emotions a complex mix. The demons were both excited and terrified; Jin Shiyi feared that
once Meng Shentong found the secrets, no one would be able to subdue him. Only Li Shengnan remained calm. Jin Shiyi found this even stranger,
sensing Li Shengnan, like the island itself, was mysterious and unpredictable. Although they continued their usual night watch, no one
could sleep. At midnight, two rhinoceroses broke out of the forest and were killed by the group. The group was exhausted, but
thankfully no other beasts attacked during the latter half of the night.
The next morning, Meng Shentong gathered everyone and said, "This island is vast, and teeming with wild beasts. Qiao Beiming's martial arts secrets..."
"I don't know where it's hidden. If everyone goes to search, I'm afraid wild beasts might damage the ship. It would be better if Yun Lingzi and I went up
to scout it first. Master Miefa, Kunlun Sanren, Jin Shiyi, and Miss Li will stay on the ship. Finding the martial arts secret is probably not something that can be done
overnight . I'll assign the search shifts when I return." Meng Shentong didn't want Jin Shiyi to find the martial arts secret,
so he wanted him to stay. But he was afraid Jin Shiyi would sail away, so he left Master Miefa and Kunlun Sanren to monitor them. Master Miefa's
martial arts were about equal to Jin Shiyi's, while Kunlun Sanren was far superior to Li Shengnan. Meng Shentong thought that leaving these two would be enough
. Jin Shiyi knew his intentions, but seeing that Li Shengnan didn't object, and having promised her, he
obeyed Meng Shentong's orders. Meng Shentong still seemed uneasy, and before leaving, he solemnly instructed again, "I will definitely be back by
evening ." "If anything happens, we'll signal each other with a howl to help each other."
After Meng Shentong and Yun Lingzi left, Jin Shiyi stayed on the boat chatting with Kunlun Sanren, discussing martial arts tales and overseas
scenery Jianfa, still harboring resentment towards Jin Shiyi, refused to join in, sitting alone on the other side. Time
flowed slowly by, from morning to noon. The monk Jianfa was getting anxious, and from noon to dusk, Meng Shentong still
hadn't returned. The monk Jianfa frequently went to the edge of the woods to look around, but the forest was dark and silent; he couldn't see anything except the occasional
roar of wild animals. Fearing that Jin Shiyi would sail away on his own, the monk Jianfa dared not go far. By nightfall, still without
seeing , he had no choice but to return to the boat.
Li Shengnan deliberately asked, "Didn't Old Monster Meng say he would definitely be back before dark?" Kunlun Sanren replied, "Yes,
that's what he said." Li Shengnan said, "The moon has already risen; why hasn't it come out yet?" "Kunlun Sanren said,
'How would I know?' Li Shengnan said, 'What do we do if he doesn't come back?' Kunlun Sanren was also a little panicked and said, '
Jin Shiyi , what do you suggest we do?' The Subtraction Monk snorted and said, 'With Meng Shentong not here, I am your leader,
yet you go to discuss this with Jin Shiyi?'
Jin Shiyi said, 'If he doesn't come back, we only have two paths to take.' Kunlun Sanren said, 'Which two paths?' Jin Shiyi
said, 'Either we go into the woods to find them; or we leave here quickly!' The Subtraction Monk angrily said, 'Nonsense! Meng
Shentong's martial arts are unparalleled; what danger can't he handle? You want to rebel just because he's a little late in returning?' Kunlun Sanren
said , 'What do you think?' The Subtraction Monk said, 'Keep waiting for him; he will definitely come back.' Li Shengnan sneered, 'If you
have patience, then wait.' The Subtraction Monk said, 'What, you want to run away?'" "Li Shengnan said, "I'm not leaving! I
want to see what happens to Meng Shentong!" Jin Shiyi said, "I also hope he can come back. With more people, it will be easier to deal with danger
." Kunlun Sanren, sensing the hidden meaning in his words, couldn't help but ask, "Is there anything more
terrifying in the forest besides wild beasts?" Jin Shiyi said, "I don't know. I only know that my master went to the island once, but he
didn't dare to venture too far. After returning, he repeatedly warned me not to set foot on this island. If there were no extraordinary dangers, why would he do that?
Although Meng Laoguai's martial arts are not bad, my master is much stronger than him!" Upon hearing this, Kunlun Sanren realized that even the Venerable Poison Dragon didn't dare
to linger on this island back then, and his heart was filled with unease. The Subtraction Monk angrily said, "Jin Shiyi, don't
exaggerate !" Jin Shiyi laughed, "If you don't want to hear it, just plug your ears. Who cares?" The Subtraction Monk was furious, but seeing that
the Kunlun Hermit didn't help him and instead questioned Jin Shiyi, he had no choice but to suppress his anger and dare not retaliate.
That night, no one dared to sleep again; the strange cries of wild beasts in the forest never ceased. Jin Shiyi ordered them to light
a fire , and only then did the beasts dare not approach. The Subtraction Monk and the Kunlun Hermit spent a night in constant fear, and the next day, when the sun rose,
Meng Shentong still hadn't appeared. Jin Shiyi suddenly said, "Kunlun Sanren, are you very eager to obtain Qiao Beiming's martial arts secrets?"
Kunlun Sanren replied, "What do you mean by that? If I didn't want the martial arts secrets, why would I risk this sea voyage?"
Seeing Kunlun Sanren refute Jin Shiyi, the monk Jianfa laughed and interjected, "That's nonsense!" Jin Shiyi coldly said, "
Think about it ; it's probably not nonsense." A strong wind blew from the mountains, carrying the smell of sulfur. Looking at
the blood-red cliffs, Kunlun Sanren suddenly felt a strange fear and blurted out, "I don't
need ; I'd rather leave this hellish place!"
Jin Shiyi said, "Fine, monk Jianfa, what about you?" The monk Jianfa angrily asked, "What are you going to do?" Jin Shiyi said,
"Kunlun Sanren is willing to come with me; if you don't want to, you can stay here alone and wait for Meng Shentong!" "The Subtraction Monk's eyes
widened as he glared at Kunlun Sanren and said, 'Are you really going to leave with Jin Shizhi?' Kunlun Sanren stammered, 'I, I…'
unable to speak for a moment. The Subtraction Monk said loudly, 'Fine, go if you want to leave. If Meng Shentong doesn't die,
he will never forgive you, no
matter where you flee!' Kunlun Sanren thought for a moment that if he left with Jin Shizhi, the enmity with Meng Shentong and the others would be over. He was a little reluctant to part with the martial arts secret, and he was also a little afraid of Meng Shentong, so he hesitated again.
The Subtraction Monk said, 'We are all on the same side after all, sharing both good and bad fortune; if you
go , hmph, hmph, you will have no choice but to let him do whatever he wants to you.' Kunlun Sanren was filled with fear after hearing this and
remained silent. Jin Shizhi said, 'If we wanted to do whatever we wanted to you, why would we give you the antidote?' The Subtraction Monk said, 'That's because Old Meng is on
the ship .'" Jin Shiyi also sneered, "Old Monster Meng just wants to use you to deal with me. Do you really think he wants you to share Qiao
Beiming's martial arts secrets?" Both sides tried to persuade Kunlun Sanren with words, and they argued with each other. Monk Jianfa lost his temper and
shouted , "Jin Shiyi, how dare you sow discord! Take this!" Jin
Shiyi unleashed his Vajra Hand technique, slashing diagonally with his palm. With a clang,
he taking three steps back in the process. Unarmed, he was slightly at a disadvantage, but the clash between the monk's staff and his palm
felt like striking metal, causing him to hesitate.
Kunlun Sanren called out, "The outcome is uncertain; let's not ruin our harmony!" Just then, a
long howl "Old Meng is calling us!" Suddenly, he swung his staff, the sound of raindrops echoing as he punched two large holes in the boat's planks,
snapping a mast in half
. He sneered, "Jin Shiyi, let's see if you can still sail!" He jumped onto the beach, shouting, "Kunlun Sanren
, are you coming or not?"
Kunlun Sanren thought that repairing the boat would take at least several days. Once Meng Shentong appeared, Jin Shiyi would have no chance of escape.
Without hesitation, he jumped onto the beach and followed the monk of subtraction into the woods!
Jin Shiyi laughed, "Excellent, excellent! They've all left. We'll repair the boat in two days, and if
Meng Shentong doesn't return within those two days, we can shake off these devils." Li Shengnan suddenly said, "No, since
we've come this far, how can we leave empty-handed?" Jin Shiyi said, "You still want Qiao Beiming's martial arts secrets?" Li Shengnan said:
“My family has dreamt of this martial arts secret for generations, and now I am the only one left. How can I
face my ancestors if I miss this opportunity? Besides, I still have a great grudge to avenge!” Jin Shiyi said, “You are the only one left in the family, so you must not
gamble with your life. As for revenge, let’s trap Meng Shentong on this strange island. He has no ships, and even if there are no
unforeseen disasters in the forest, he will have difficulty crossing the ocean to return to his homeland. You will have avenged all your grudges!” Li Shengnan said, “No, I must
find Qiao Beiming’s martial arts secret! Do you remember the oath you made to me? What did you say to me back then?” Jin Shiyi
sighed and said, “Fine, I promised you I would find the martial arts secret.” " If you won't give up, let's gamble with our lives!"
Li Shengnan smiled and said, "It's not necessarily a matter of losing our lives. Even if we do, we'll die together, wouldn't
that be more fun?" Jin Shiyi's heart skipped a beat, and he avoided her gaze. Li Shengnan asked, "What about that scroll?" Jin Shiyi replied, "I
have it with me at all, what use is it to me?" Li Shengnan laughed, "If you don't want
it, just give it to me." Jin Shiyi asked curiously, "Do you understand it?" Li Shengnan said, "Don't worry about it, just give it to me. It will
be beneficial ." Jin Shiyi was quite surprised, but after arriving on this island, he felt that Li Shengnan had become even more mysterious and unpredictable. After thinking for a moment,
he handed the painting to her.
The two entered the forest together. The ancient trees towered into the sky, and the forest was gloomy, with unknown monsters lurking inside. Even Jin Shiyi, who was brave and
bold , felt a little afraid. The two cautiously made their way forward, occasionally spotting the shadows of wild animals. Fortunately, they weren't
in packs , and the animals seemed unfamiliar with humans, likely mistaking them for monsters. Jin Shiyi didn't disturb them, and they
dared not bother him.
After walking for a while, they reached the depths of the forest when Li Shengnan suddenly cried out in alarm. Jin Shiyi followed her gaze and saw
a figure emerging from the undergrowth. Approaching, he recognized it as Yun Lingzi's wife, Sang Qingniang. A large hole had split in her skull, and looking down
, it was empty. Some monster must have sucked her brains clean. Jin Shiyi was shocked. He thought that with Sang
Qingniang's martial arts skills, she could easily subdue a lion or tiger, especially with Meng Shentong and Yun Lingzi traveling with her. What monster could have harmed her? Sang Qingniang
's death was gruesome, a sight too painful to bear. Jin Shiyi broke off some branches to cover her and quickly pulled Li Shengnan away from the
area.
Suddenly, a thunderous roar, like thunder yet not quite, sounded as if someone had struck a giant drum in the sky,
accompanied by a piercing scream like metal shattering rocks. Instantly, a fierce wind arose, and all the beasts fled in terror, tigers roaring and monkeys howling—a truly terrifying sight. Jin Shiyi
cried out, "Not good!" He pulled Li Shengnan onto a large tree, where they saw a large group of wild beasts rushing towards them.
At the head was a large, spotted tiger, followed by lions, black bears, leopards, wild boars, rhinoceroses, and other ferocious animals
, all jostling and trampling each other as if they had encountered a great disaster and were fleeing for their lives!
Jin Shiyi struck a flint and lit a bundle of dry branches, throwing it on the ground to create a blazing fire. Li Shengnan fired
a poisoned mist fire needle, which struck the tiger on the head with a "whoosh." The weapon exploded, spitting out a
burst of fire. Startled, the tiger changed direction and ran for several meters before dying instantly. The pack of ferocious beasts trampled over it and
continued their rampage. It turns out that when wild animals are fleeing for their lives, they blindly follow the direction in front of them. Even though the tiger was dead, they still
followed its direction. Li Shengnan, her initial shock subsiding, wiped away a cold sweat, thinking, "Luckily, the tiger was scared and changed direction;
otherwise with such a large group of wild beasts surging forward, even the best martial arts skills would be hard to withstand!"
Just as her shock subsided, she suddenly heard that heart-wrenching roar again, this time closer and deafening.
In , a monster emerged from the gust of wind, its body covered in golden fur, somewhat resembling a lion, with exceptionally long forelimbs, somewhat like
a gibbon. It moved like the wind, darting into the group of beasts and suddenly pouncing on the back of a lion. The lion instantly cowered, unable to move. At this moment,
the dozen or so nearby beasts all prostrated themselves on the ground, no longer daring to flee.
The monster tore open the lion's brain, sucked out the marrow, and prepared it accordingly. It then ate the brains of two tigers, and
tore open the heart of a leopard. Jin Shiyi said, "So this is the monster that killed Sang Qingniang." Li Shengnan pressed close to Jin Shiyi
and whispered, "What kind of monster is this, so powerful!" Jin said, “This monster is called the Golden-haired Shuttle, and it feeds exclusively on lions and tigers. I’ve heard
my master mention it before, but today I finally see it for the first time. Once it’s had its fill and dispersed the other beasts, I must get rid of it!” Li Shengnan said, “
It’s better not to provoke such a ferocious monster!” "
After the monster had eaten its fill, it used its long arms to stroke the heads of the two tigers, then let out a long roar. The other beasts, as if granted a pardon, fled
in droves , except for the two tigers it had stroked, which remained lying on the ground, too afraid to move. It seemed it intended to keep these two
tigers as snacks to enjoy slowly.
The golden-haired shuttle, swaying back and forth, walked in two circles, as if inspecting something or smelling
something . Suddenly, it roared again and leaped up like lightning. Jin Shiyi was startled, thinking it had discovered him. He hurriedly
broke off a branch and was about to jump down when suddenly a terrifying scream was heard. It was the voice of the Kunlun Hermit,
or rather, the shout of the Subtraction Monk, which blended with the golden-haired shuttle's roar, shaking the trees!
Not far away, under a large tree, the Subtraction Monk was waving his Zen..." The staff clashed fiercely with the golden-haired shuttle,
while was entangled in a thicket of tangled vines, his hands and feet prickly and unable to break free, a truly terrifying sight!
It turned out that the Extinction Monk and the Kunlun Hermit were also hiding in the trees, close to the golden-haired shuttle. After the shuttle had eaten its fill, it smelled
the scent of living people, went berserk, and leaped up the tree to attack them. The Kunlun Hermit, startled by its roar, lost his footing and fell,
landing squarely in the tangled vines. The vines, as if sentient, immediately closed in, like hundreds of octopuses, binding him tightly, making it
difficult to breathe .
Jin Shiyi was horrified at the sight. These were the most dangerous man-eating vines in the tropical forest; even ferocious animals like lions and tigers
would be strangled to death upon encountering them, their flesh melting away within hours, becoming food for the vines.
The Kunlun Hermit, thanks to his refined martial arts, was not in immediate danger, but the Extinction Monk's situation was even worse.
Danger loomed. The Golden-haired Shuttle was swift as the wind, its claws like sharp knives. The monk, Destroyer of Law, unleashed his Demon-Subduing Staff Technique, becoming impenetrable. Stones and
trees touched it would break and shatter, yet the Golden-haired
Shuttle showed no fear. Moreover, it seized any opening with its long arms, surpassing even the most skilled martial artists. Suddenly, in the midst of the fierce battle, the Golden-haired Shuttle roared, followed by the monk's scream
of agony. He had struck the Golden-haired Shuttle in the groin, and the monk's shoulder had been ripped apart. Man and beast were now separated in two.
Enraged, the golden-haired shuttle picked up a stone and hurled it at the monk Mifa. Mifa swung his
staff , shattering the stone into pieces with a deafening crash. The stones bounced back, but the golden-haired shuttle possessed incredible strength. Although Mifa had knocked the stone away,
his hands were bleeding from the impact. Amidst the dust and sand, the golden-haired shuttle roared and pounced with lightning speed. Seeing that even a blow to the
head hadn't killed it, Mifa trembled with fear. His arms were numb and weak, making it
even harder to defend himself. Seeing the golden-haired shuttle charging, he cried out, "My life is over!"
Just then, Jin Shiyi arrived at Kunlun Sanren's place, but before he could rescue him, he was shocked to find Mifa
in danger . Without a second thought, Jin Shiyi immediately unleashed his inner strength, hurling the branch like a flail. The golden-haired shuttle, with its copper skin and
iron bones, paid no heed to the branch, making no attempt to dodge, and continued its attack. However, by sheer coincidence,
the branch struck its eye.
Blinded in one eye, the golden-haired shuttle roared, rolled on the ground, and instantly lunged at
Jin Shiyi as swift as lightning. But in that instant, Jin Shiyi had already drawn the sword of the Kunlun Hermit, unleashing a move called
"Starry Sea Floating Rubbing," creating dozens of sword flowers. The golden-haired shuttle, realizing its mistake,
leaped , its long arm grabbing his vest. Even though Jin Shiyi dodged quickly, his shirt was torn!
In the midst of the fierce battle, Kunlun Sanren suddenly cried out, "Master Destroyer of Dharma! Master Subtraction of Dharma!" It turned out that the Subtraction of Dharma Monk
had fled while Jin Shiyi was shielding him from the Golden-Haired Shuttle. Kunlun Sanren was both shocked and furious, thinking, "You keep claiming to be one of us,
yet you abandon me in this time of crisis!"
If the Subtraction of Dharma Monk had rescued Kunlun Sanren, the three of them together could easily have killed the Golden-Haired Shuttle. Now, with only
Jin Shiyi . Seeing the Golden-Haired Shuttle's ferocious and relentless attacks, and Jin Shiyi seemingly
only able to defend, Kunlun Sanren grew increasingly alarmed.
He cursed the Subtraction of Dharma Monk for his cowardice and desertion while simultaneously praying for Jin Shiyi's victory.
In truth, the Subtraction of Dharma Monk's escape wasn't entirely out of cowardice, but rather a deliberate attempt to weaken both Jin Shiyi and the Golden-Haired Shuttle.
As for Kunlun Sanren's life or death, he cared nothing for him.
The golden-haired beast possessed immense strength and extraordinary agility. Jin Shiyi fought it fiercely for nearly half an hour, yet he couldn't gain the slightest
advantage , and he grew increasingly anxious. Suddenly, he remembered his master's words: the navel is always the weakest
point of any ferocious beast. Jin Shiyi tried it out. When the golden-haired beast leaped upright, he thrust his sword tip into its navel. As expected, the golden-haired beast was afraid,
either dodging or crouching down, allowing Jin Shiyi's spear to strike other parts of its body.
Seeing that it seemed like a master, knowing how to avoid the strong points and attack the weak ones, Jin Shiyi was secretly amazed. Its body was as hard as refined steel;
the sword tip would bounce off whenever it struck. After trying this two or three times, Jin Shiyi focused on its eyes and navel. The golden-haired beast dared not
leap , and having to protect its only eye, its ferocity greatly diminished. Jin Shiyi channeled his inner strength, using both sword and palm techniques, striking the creature several
times. Although he still couldn't injure it, he did manage to tire it out.
Just as Jin Shiyi was beginning to gain the upper hand, he suddenly heard another piercing roar, and another
golden-haired , several sizes larger than the first one. Jin Shiyi was greatly alarmed. He thought, "One Golden-haired Shuttle is already difficult to deal with.
If another one comes, Li Shengnan and I might be able to escape, but Kunlun Sanren will definitely become their snack!"
Before he finished thinking, the Golden-haired Shuttle he was fighting suddenly let out a long howl, somersaulted, and escaped the range of Jin Shiyi's sword
strike . It came fast and ran even faster. In the blink of an eye, the two Golden-haired Shuttles had reunited and were comforting each other. They seemed to be
a couple. The one he had fought was the male beast, and the one that came later was the female beast.
Jin Shiyi stared intently at the pair of Golden-haired Shuttles, wary of a sudden counterattack. Unexpectedly, he discovered a very
strange phenomenon. He saw the female beast making a "gurgling" sound from its throat, curling up on the ground,
trembling as if it had a chill. The male beast stretched out its arms and hugged it, warming it with its body. The three eyes of the two beasts were staring at Jin Shiyi, as if
they were also afraid that Jin Shiyi would suddenly attack them.
Upon seeing this, Jin Shiyi was stunned for a moment, then muttered, "So it was injured by Meng Shentong's Asura Yin Sha Gong."
Although the Golden-haired Shuttle was made of copper and iron, impervious to swords and spears, it couldn't withstand the chilling aura of the Asura Yin Sha Gong attacking its heart. Its roar
gradually turned into a mournful wail, even more terrifying.
This was the perfect opportunity to eliminate these two Golden-haired Shuttles. For some reason, seeing their affectionate behavior, Jin Shiyi
hesitated, thinking, "A gentleman doesn't take advantage of someone in distress!" But if he released them, and the female beast recovered from her injuries, the consequences would be endless!
Just as he was undecided, a piercing, earth-shattering howl suddenly came from the depths of the forest!
Jin Shiyi was greatly shocked, even more so than when he heard the Golden-haired Shuttles' roar. He was not only astonished by
the profound internal strength of the howler, as Meng Shentong might also possess such power, but Jin Shiyi had already discerned that this howl was not
Meng Shentong 's! As for Yun Lingzi and his wife, they definitely didn't possess such skill. It could be judged that this was simply
the howl .
It was unimaginable that there was an unknown strange person in the forest. But even more unimaginable was that the two
golden-haired beasts , upon hearing the call, seemed to hear their master calling. The male beast carried its mate on its back, glanced back at
Jin Shiyi, and seeing that Jin Shiyi wasn't chasing after them, seemed to show gratitude in its eyes. Then it galloped towards the source of the howl,
occasionally letting out a long and two short roars, as if responding to its master!
Li Shengnan quietly approached Jin Shiyi and laughed, "That was close! Fortunately, those two monsters ran away. I wonder what kind of monster made that
howl ?" Jin Shiyi was worried and had no time to explain to Li Shengnan that it wasn't a monster's howl but a human's.
He hurriedly went to rescue Kunlun Sanren.
The golden shuttle had left, and the two tigers that had been lying motionless on the ground squatted up, looked around, and suddenly wagged their tails and
walked to Jin Shiyi's side, their eyes seemingly filled with gratitude. Jin Shiyi sensed that they meant him no harm and smiled, "You 85 grams..."
"Xing is gone, no one wants to harm you anymore, go back!" The two tigers crouched down and licked Jin Shiyi's
toes Li Shengnan found them amusing and patted their heads. They were surprisingly docile, like warmed cats. After
seeing the two tigers off, Li Shengnan laughed, "The Golden-haired Shuttle eats the brains of Lion Void. If I wasn't afraid of provoking the Golden-haired Shuttle, I
would have kept these two tigers."
Jin Shiyi swung his sword to cut the "man-eating vines" binding Kunlun Sanren, and with great effort, he rescued Kunlun Sanren.
Kunlun Sanren's body was swollen and red, and he was in terrible pain. Fortunately, Li Shengnan had some antidote and medicine, which Jin Shiyi applied to him,
reducing his suffering. Kunlun Sanren was extremely grateful.
Jin Shiyi smiled bitterly, "Shengnan, are you still going to continue searching for Qiao Beiming's martial arts secrets?" After escaping danger, Kunlun Sanren
was still shaken. Before Li Shengnan could answer him, she said, "This Black Forest is even more terrifying than Old Monster Meng. I only want to leave this island;
I don't want any treasures anymore." Li Shengnan laughed, "You don't want them, but I do. What are those Golden-haired Shuttles and Man-eating Vine? They might take
my life at most, but they can't change my mind. Jin Shiyi, are you afraid?" Jin Shiyi laughed, "It would be
a lie to say I'm not afraid, but I promised you, so even if there's an even more terrifying monster, I won't change my mind." Seeing
them didn't dare to be alone and had to follow them.
As they walked, Jin Shiyi said, "The Golden-haired Shuttles are easy to deal with, but I'm afraid even the three of us can't handle the owner who raises them. What I
'm worried about and afraid of is this strange man!" Kunlun Sanren said, "I also suspected that the strange howl was human. Hearing you say that
confirms it!"
Li Shengnan exclaimed, "What? That was a human howl just now?" Jin Shiyi secretly observed her, noticing that although she was incredibly surprised,
she didn't seem particularly afraid. On the contrary, her eyes flickered, and her surprise seemed to be mixed with a
strange joy. This subtle expression was something Jin Shiyi had noticed because he had spent a lot of time with her and they had developed a certain understanding
.
After leaving Snake Island, Jin Shiyi always felt that Li Shengnan exuded an unfathomable mystery, especially now! Did
Li Shengnan already know about the strange person in the forest? But this was Li Shengnan's first time at sea. Before this, she had
no idea where this island was located. To say that she knew about the strange person there was absurd would be highly unlikely. Impossible! Indeed:
A wondrous woman, accompanied by lakes and seas, her arrival is shrouded in mystery.
To find out what happens next, please turn to the next chapter. ( From

Liang Yusheng's *The Jade Bow
and the Cloud Sea*, Chapter 24)

This island was much larger than the snake-horse one, its dense trees blocking out the sky, like a boundless sea of trees. Kunlun Sanren, facing
this vast, dark, and gloomy forest, was terrified. He followed closely behind Jin and Li, like a timid child
walking with an adult at night, fearing that if he left their side, some ghostly figure would suddenly appear and snatch him away!
Suddenly, a whistling sound arose again. Kunlun Sanren cried out, "It's Meng Shentong!" He had only taken a few steps towards the direction of the sound when
another long whistle came from the east. Jin Shiyi said, "The strange man is chasing him!" "The whistling sounds rose and fell, sometimes from the east, sometimes from the west. The
two men 's skills were roughly equal, and the echoes from the forest came from all directions, gradually making it impossible to distinguish which whistle came from which man
, or what their direction was.
Jin Shiyi said, 'I wonder if Meng Shentong has encountered that strange man? That strange man also keeps a golden-haired shuttle, and his skills seem to be slightly better than
Meng Shentong's . I'm afraid Meng
Shentong might not be able to defeat him.' Li Shengnan said, 'Why do you care about him? It's better if he can't beat him!' Jin Shiyi said, 'The forest is fraught with danger. It's always better to have a capable person. You can settle your grudge with Meng Shentong later
.' Li Shengnan sneered, 'Fine, then go help him.' At this moment, the whistling stopped, but the echoes in the forest still lingered
. After another cup of tea's time, the echoes gradually weakened. Jin Shiyi couldn't recognize the direction and spread his hands with a bitter smile.
Li Shengnan suddenly said, 'Do you remember what I told you on the ship?'" Suddenly, she strode ahead of Jin Shiyi,
as if she knew the way! Jin Shiyi's heart skipped a beat. He remembered her instructions on the ship: once on this island, he should
obey her in everything. He had found it strange then, but now it seemed even more mysterious. Seeing Kunlun Sanren beside him,
Jin Shiyi couldn't inquire further and could only follow her.
After walking for a mile, they reached a sparser area of trees. Suddenly, his eyes lit up. He saw a grave on a lawn. The
lawn was over ten zhang in circumference, clearly man-made. The surrounding trees were lush, and the grass was of roughly the same
length , indicating regular maintenance!
Jin Shiyi initially thought it was... It was supposed to be Qiao Beiming's grave, but upon closer inspection, the foundation stones were intact, unlike an ancient tomb. It appeared to
be no more than ten years old. Qiao Beiming, however, lived two hundred years ago. He arrived on this island after the age of sixty and lived to be over a hundred.
Even if someone had built a tomb for him, it would be at least two hundred years old. Clearly, this wasn't Qiao Beiming's grave.
Looking more closely, there were fresh flowers and wild fruits in front of the grave, and the grass smelled of wine, suggesting someone had recently come to pay their respects.
Whose grave was this? Perhaps it was that strange, unknown person who came to sweep it? Jin Shiyi pondered this silently, suddenly noticing Li Shengnan's
very strange expression.
Li Shengnan looked completely bewildered, muttering to herself, "How could there be this grave? How could there be this grave?"
After arriving at the island, Jin Shiyi noticed many strange phenomena and terrifying things, but Li Shengnan seemed unconcerned .
Yet, she was utterly astonished by this grave. Jin Shiyi couldn't help but be suspicious and puzzled.
Li Shengnan stared at the grave for a long time. There was no name engraved on the tombstone. Suddenly, Li Shengnan knelt down and kowtowed twice.
Jin Shiyi asked curiously, "Shengnan, who is buried in this grave?" Li Shengnan replied, "How would I know?" Jin Shiyi said, "Since
you are not related to him, why are you kowtowing to him?" Li Shengnan said, "He died on this deserted island. Besides that strange man, probably no one
has paid respects to him. Whether we will survive is still unknown; perhaps we too will be buried on this deserted island. I feel a sense of shared
fate, so I kowtowed twice." Jin Shiyi knew her words were hastily made up, and there must be another reason behind them.
Kunlun Sanren, however, was moved to sorrow by her words and kowtowed twice, murmuring, "My nameless
friend , please bless us so we can leave this island safely. Once we return, I will definitely ask a lama at the Potala Palace to chant a life-saving
mantra for you!"
Jin Shiyi laughed, "Your back-and-forth is making me feel eerily uneasy. Let's go. Life and death are predestined;
let nature take its course. The person in the tomb can't even protect himself, how can he protect you?"
Li Shengnan picked a white flower from the grave, placed it on the marker, and continued onward, leading the way
. She turned left, then right, and before they knew it, they had reached the foot of the mountain.
There stood the solitary Wushan Mountain, towering and majestic, its peaks shrouded in thorns and dark clouds. The roof was painted blood red, and the wind carried the smell of sulfur.
The trees on the hillside were lush and dense. Li Shengnan said, "Kunlun Hermit, don't be afraid. The volcano above has gone out." Kunlun
Hermit gazed at the eerie mountain peak, and for some reason, felt a sense of unease. But Li Shengnan was a woman, and since she was leading the way, he
had no choice but to follow.
Reaching the mountainside, Jin Shiyi listened intently and suddenly exclaimed, "Hey, it sounds like someone's killing over there!" Before he finished
speaking someone cried out, "Help! Help!" The voice pierced the air, extremely shrill. Kunlun Sanren cried out, "It's Yun Lingzi
!"
The three hurriedly crossed the hillside and saw Yun Lingzi fighting fiercely with a strange man on a mountaintop. The strange man
was draped in a five-colored striped animal skin, with long hair hanging down to his shoulders, quite striking. Yun Lingzi was forced to retreat step by step. Kunlun Sanren suddenly
cried out, "Not good!" In that instant, there was a clanging sound of rain, and Yun Lingzi's two judge's pens flew into the air. The strange man
laughed loudly and snatched Yun Lingzi into his hand!
The strange man laughed loudly, swung Yun Lingzi over his head, and was about to throw him when he suddenly seemed to remember
something . He pulled him back, glaring at him and asking, "Who are you? Where are you from?" The strange man suddenly
spoke, and with a Shaanxi accent. Jin Shiyi and the others found it very strange. Yun Lingzi, in his grasp, was terrified
. Hearing the question, he hurriedly replied, "I'm from Tibet, Yun Wuzi, the leader of the Lingshan Sect!" The Lingshan Sect
held great prestige in the Northwest, and he hoped the strange man would spare him, perhaps because he was the sect leader.
But speaking only made things worse. The strange man suddenly roared, and with a mighty swing of his arms, he sent Yun Lingzi flying. Jin Shiyi
was too far away to catch him in time and was terrified!
Suddenly, a figure leaped out from around the corner of the rock, catching the flying object—it was the Subtraction Monk. He had been searching for Meng Shentong and had just stumbled upon
this spot, directly in the direction from which Yun Lingzi had been thrown.
Jin Shiyi had just breathed a sigh of relief when he suddenly heard a "crack." He saw Yun Lingzi's massive body lying
stiffly on the ground, while the Subtraction Monk was spinning like a windmill. It turned out that the Subtraction Monk couldn't withstand the force of the strange man's throw
. He had to pull back and dodge, letting Yun Lingzi fall, but he himself was touched by Yun Lingzi's body, and the strange man's internal force was transmitted
to him, forcing him to spin on the spot to dissipate the opponent's powerful force.
The strange man moved with lightning speed, arriving in no time. He opened his eyes wide and exclaimed, "Eh, were you born without hair
?" Apparently, he had never seen a monk before, and he looked at him strangely, scrutinizing him for a moment before suddenly stepping forward and
reaching out to stroke the Subtraction Monk's bald head.
The Subtraction Monk was enraged. His spinning motion stopped, and he raised his staff, flipping it violently with a move called "Overturning Rivers and Seas," coiling towards him like
a dragon . The strange man let out a long howl, leaped into the air, and pressed down with
his palm in the same stance. A loud "clang" resounded, like metal striking stone. The strange man's palm seemed not to be made of flesh and blood; it struck the
monk 's staff, even shattering the bowl-shaped staff. However, he missed the monk's
bald head. He laughed loudly, "Very good, you bald one are more skilled than the one with hair!" Before his laughter subsided, he pounced on the ground again.
The monk Jianfa was so shocked by his attack that he lost his footing and suddenly felt a
chill Seeing the monk lunging at him again, he was terrified. He immediately swung his staff in a circular motion, unleashing the thirty-six defensive forms of the Subduing Demon Staff Technique,
prioritizing safety over merit, while desperately shouting, "Old Meng, Old Meng, come quickly!"
The Subduing Demon Staff Technique is said to have been created by Bodhidharma, the founder of Shaolin Temple, and is one of the Buddhist protective martial arts. It was
passed down to Shenniang, who relied on this technique to become invincible throughout the land, until finally dying at the Battle of Mangshan at the hands of Lü Siniang's
Xuan Nu Sword Technique. The monk Jianfa's skill was no less than his master's in his prime. His staff technique, when unleashed, carried the faint sound of wind and thunder . Even Jin Shiyi,
watching, couldn't help but secretly praise it!
However, given the power of the monk Jianfa's Subduing Demon Staff Technique... Even so, he could only parry. The strange man's palm techniques were not only
extremely powerful but also incredibly unpredictable. The monk had already resorted to defense, using the thirty-six protective forms of the Subduing Demon Staff Technique to defend himself flawlessly
, but the strange man's palms still occasionally pierced through the myriad shadows of the staff and attacked him.
Jin Shiyi was greatly surprised. It seemed that this strange man had been taught by a master and possessed extremely high-level martial arts skills. He thought, "Could it be that
he has obtained the martial arts secrets left by Qiao Beiming on this island? But without someone with profound knowledge of martial arts to teach him, even if an ordinary person
obtains a superior martial arts secret, it is difficult to understand its mysteries. So who taught him martial arts? Was it
the person in the grave?" What was even stranger was that, judging from the strange man's expression and tone, the monk had never seen him before, and it seemed that he had never left this island
in his life . So why did his accent sound like that of the Northwest Plateau of China?
Jin Shiyi secretly observed that Li Shengnan was also staring intently at the strange man, her expression very peculiar. A thought struck
Jin Shiyi , and he asked, "Shengnan, I remember you said your family lived in Suoyang Mountain in northern Shaanxi?" Li Shengnan replied,
"That's right. My ancestors moved there after Qiao Beiming went to sea, almost two hundred years ago." Jin Shiyi said, "
Judging from your accent this strange man seems to be from your hometown. Are there any other famous martial arts masters in Shaanxi?" Li Shengnan said, "Yes, I also find it strange.
There are quite a few famous martial arts masters in Shaanxi, but none of them can beat me, let alone compare to this strange man."
Jin Shiyi and became increasingly puzzled.
Suddenly, a "clang" was heard in the midst of the fierce battle. In the blink of an eye, the strange man had snatched the monk's staff.
The monk's face turned ashen, and he trembled violently, retreating several feet away.
The strange man didn't pursue, but instead brandished the staff a few times. Suddenly, he grabbed one end with each hand, forming a ring
around his arm, and laughed heartily, "Fun, fun!" as if he were a child who had just acquired a new toy. Just
as Jin Shiyi was about to approach, he heard the strange man roar, and with a flick of his arm, he sent the copper ring flying. Suddenly,
a figure leaped out from the mountainside, striking with a horizontal palm. The copper ring emitted a loud whistling sound and plummeted into the valley!
This person was Meng Shentong. He had knocked the copper ring away, and the impact had left his arm numb. He was greatly surprised, never
expecting that there would be a master of unparalleled martial arts on this deserted island!
The strange man rolled his eyes, revealing a pair of white, gleaming pupils, tilted his head, and snorted, saying, "Your surname is Meng?"
Meng Shentong, not to be outdone, also revealed an arrogant expression and sneered, "Ha, you uncivilized savage actually know me
?" The strange man said, "This bald fellow is calling you for help, so you must be more skilled than him. Fine,
try taking my palm strike!"
With a "thud," their palms collided, and Meng Shentong staggered back three steps. The strange man also swayed twice, then suddenly roared angrily, "
So was you who injured my Golden-Haired Shuttle!"
Meng Shentong was even more shocked than before. It turned out that when their palms collided, he also felt a chilling aura
emanating from the other man's palm. Without a doubt, this strange man also practiced the Asura Yin Sha Gong, and it seemed to be on par with his own; neither could harm the other.
Like Jin Shiyi, Meng Shentong immediately had the same thought: "Could it be that he has already found
the martial arts secrets that Qiao Beiming left on the Seven Islands?" But then he immediately thought: "If he had found Qiao Beiming's martial arts secrets, he should have
already mastered the Asura Hidden Fiend Technique to the ninth level. But now it seems he has only reached the seventh level. What's the logic behind this?"
The strange man didn't allow him to ponder this carefully. With a swift movement, his palm strike came like a thunderbolt. Meng Shentong gathered all his strength and received
his palm strike. With a single palm strike, Meng Shentong felt as if his internal organs were about to turn inside out, but the strange man also shivered
.
It turned out that because Meng Shentong had received the internal energy cultivation method from the monk Jianfa, his Shura Yin Sha Gong had reached
between , slightly higher than the strange man's. However, the strange man's internal strength was far superior to his. Therefore, in
the contest of Shura Yin Sha Gong, the strange man suffered a slight disadvantage, but in the contest of internal true strength, Meng Shentong could not defeat him.
Meng Shentong, a master of martial arts, quickly assessed his opponent's strength with a few moves and inwardly cried out, "This is bad!" He thought,
"My Asura Yin Sha Gong isn't enough to kill him. If I fight him for a long time, I'll definitely exhaust him!" He wanted to
escape , but the strange man was as swift as the wind. Before Meng Shentong could even think of anything, his escape route was already blocked. The strange man
unleashed his palm techniques, covering an area of several feet in radius. Moreover, the palm shadows overlapped, as if seven or eight people were attacking from all directions. This
strange man not only possessed profound skill, but the subtlety of his moves far surpassed Meng Shentong's. What was even stranger was that some of his moves seemed to originate from the same
school as Meng Shentong's, but the subtle variations were beyond Meng Shentong's expectations.
Meng Shentong couldn't help but feel secretly alarmed. But he was a veteran of countless battles, far more experienced than the strange man. He immediately focused his mind, intently watching
the strange man's figure. When at a distance, he attacked with a splitting palm strike; when close, he used a dislocating hand technique to repel the enemy. He
countered every move, adapting to every style. Although at a disadvantage, he remained completely composed. Both possessed unparalleled martial arts skills, and their battle raged until the sky darkened and
the sun and moon lost their light! Jin Shiyi was also dizzy and disoriented, thinking to himself, "Meng Shentong truly deserves to be called the number one expert among the evil sects. If it were me
, I'm afraid I wouldn't be able to withstand a hundred moves!"
Suddenly, Li Shengnan whispered, "How old do you think this strange man is?" Jin Shiyi replied, "Probably no more than fifty years old
." Li Shengnan looked bewildered, muttering to herself, "Strange!" At such a tense moment, Li Shengnan asked about
the strange man's age, which puzzled Jin Shiyi even more. Just as he was about to ask, he heard a loud "thud"—Meng Shentong had been struck again by the strange man
!
Jin Shiyi had no time to ask questions. He focused his attention and saw that Meng Shentong was being forced to retreat step by step by the strange man. The strange man was not only
highly , but also had a variety of ingenious tricks. Although he was less experienced in combat, his actual skills were far superior to Meng Shentong's
. As time went on, Meng Shentong found it difficult to cope.
Jin Shiqian inwardly cried out in alarm, thinking, "Sang Qingniang was killed by the cunning Golden Hand, and Yun Lingzi was severely injured by this strange man; he's probably
not going to survive either. If Meng Shentong is also killed by this strange man, the remaining few people will definitely not be able to handle this strange man and his
two Golden-Haired Shuttles. Forget about finding any martial arts secrets; they probably won't even be able to escape!" Although Meng Shentong was his enemy, with
such a formidable foe before him, he couldn't help but lend a hand. He immediately said, "Shengnan, lend me your sword." Li Shengnan hesitated slightly and
said, "It would be best if you could drive him away. If you can't, retreat to my side immediately!"
Just then, there was another "thud." Meng Shentong had taken three blows from the strange man's Spirit Palm. Even though he
had a body that was almost invincible, he couldn't withstand it. In his dizziness, his movements became chaotic, and the strange man grabbed with both hands,
meeting Meng Shentong's palms head-on! Meng Shentong had been avoiding direct confrontation with him, but now that his palms were firmly held, he
had no choice but to exert all his strength to fight back.
The strange man's skill was superior to Meng Shentong's, but his mastery of the Asura Hidden Fiend Technique was slightly inferior. In just a short while,
Meng Shentong was drenched in sweat and panting heavily, while the strange man's face turned slightly pale. However,
to , it was clear at a glance that the strange man could still hold on, while Meng Shentong was on the
verge of death!
Meng Shentong's internal energy was so strong that his internal organs were churning. He tried to break free but couldn't. He couldn't help but gasp, thinking
, "I never thought that after half a lifetime of dominance, I would die inexplicably at the hands of a strange man!" Just when he was in the most danger, he suddenly heard
the strange man shout and push with both palms. Meng Shentong was sent flying, tumbling and falling to the ground. It turned out that
Jin Shiyi had arrived, his long sword pointed at the strange man's back. Upon hearing the sound of the blade cutting through the wind, the strange man knew that a
formidable enemy had arrived. He had no choice but to push Meng Shentong aside and turn to deal with Jin Shiyi, thus allowing Meng Shentong to escape death!
The strange man roared angrily, "How many of you are there? Come at me!" Jin Shiyi said, "Senior, please calm your anger.
We came here to avoid the storm and have no ill intentions towards you." The strange man said, "No matter what your purpose is, no one who comes to this island
will leave alive!" He struck out with both hands, one hand disarming the sword, and the other striking down at Jin Shiyi's crown.
Jin Shiyi hurriedly used the "Transformation of Form" technique, his sword flashing back with a move called "Surging Waves Crashing Against the Shore," aiming for the strange man's
pulse point . The strange man snorted, deflecting the attack
with his backhand. Instead of retreating, he leaped forward two steps, his left palm shooting out and hooking Jin Shiyi's forearm. This palm technique was incredibly strange; anyone else would surely have been brought down by the strange man. Fortunately, Jin Shiyi's sword technique was
created by the Poison Dragon Venerable, and it was extremely unpredictable, containing a very subtle follow-up move. Just as the strange man's finger was about to touch him, a flash of sword light
appeared . Jin Shiyi's longsword had seized the initiative, slashing at the finger. The strange man roared, retracting his finger.
Jin Shiyi's sword missed its mark, and suddenly a "clang" was heard. In that instant, the strange man's right palm had already attacked. Jin Shiyi's sword had just turned when it was deflected by
the strange man finger
. The two fought two moves with their most superior martial arts skills. Within those two moves, there were many dangers, and both sides couldn't help but feel a sense of unease.
A tremor ran through Li Shengnan, who was drenched in cold sweat. Meng Shentong was so tense he could hardly breathe. He sat cross-legged on the ground, regulating his
internal energy. He was severely depleted and only hoped that Jin Shiyi could hold out for a short while longer to allow him to recover his strength. If Jin Shiyi was killed by that strange man before he could
recover , then Meng Shentong and the monk Jianfa would also be doomed!
The strange man's palm strikes came one after another, like a raging torrent, towards Jin Shiyi. Jin Shiyi wielded his sword swiftly,
not giving . After a moment, Jin Shiyi suddenly shivered and took
two steps back. Meng Shentong was startled, but fortunately, Jin Shiyi had managed to hold his ground. Originally, Jin Shiyi's skill was inferior to Meng Shentong's, let alone that of the strange man. However, the strange man
had fought Meng Shentong first and had also exhausted much of his strength, so the two were now evenly matched. But the strange man's martial arts were so profound that he still held a slight
advantage.
Unable to withstand the attack, Jin Shiyi considered using poison needles, but the thought suddenly crossed his mind: "Judging from Sheng Nan's tone just now, it seems she
doesn't want me to harm this strange man. But if I don't harm him, I'll be harmed by him, and Meng Shentong and the others will also die.
What should I do?" In a battle between experts, there's no time to be distracted. With a "thud," Jin Shiyi was struck by the strange man's
palm .
The strange man's Asura Hidden Fiend Technique had reached the seventh level, and his palm strikes were filled with a chilling aura. Fortunately, Jin Shiyi had received authentic internal energy cultivation techniques
from , which allowed him to withstand it for so long. But now, being struck directly in the back by the man's palm, the chilling
aura immediately attacked his "Great Sweating" and "Lung Healing" acupoints, as if he were immersed in ice water in the dead of winter, causing
him to tremble .
Meng Shentong cried out, "Good brother, hold on a little longer, and I'll be able to help you!" Jin Shiyi forced himself to stay calm and
bravely parried a few blows, but he couldn't hold on any longer. He thought that with this strange man's skill, even if he was poisoned, he might not die. Just
then, the strange man struck Jin Shiyi back six or seven steps with two consecutive palm strikes. Seeing that he was about to reach Meng Shentong, Jin Shiyi
had no time to think. With a "whoosh," he spat out a spray of poison needles.
Suddenly, he heard Li Shengnan scream, and the strange man's figure vanished from his sight. Jin Shiyi was stunned for a moment, thinking, "
Could it be that someone knows how powerful my poison needles are?" Before he could finish his thought, he turned around and was terrified: he saw that the strange man had already
grabbed Li Shengnan in his hand, a strange smile spreading across his lips. Just as Jin Shiyi was spitting out poison needles, Li Shengnan rushed out and was
discovered by the strange man. He moved like the wind, released Jin Shiyi, and in a flash, grabbed Li Shengnan.
Jin Shiyi was greatly startled and rushed towards the strange man. He heard the strange man laugh in a peculiar voice, "Hehe,
a young lady indeed! Haha, you'll be my...my—" Before he could utter the word "wife," he suddenly seemed
to discover something terrifying on Li Shengnan. At that moment, Jin Shiyi had already rushed over, less than three zhang away from the strange man.
He could vaguely see Li Shengnan's lips slightly parted, but he couldn't hear what she was saying. Suddenly, the strange man shouted, put Li Shengnan
down, covered his face, and ran away. Judging from his expression, he seemed utterly ashamed and wanted to disappear as far away as possible!
This sudden change was completely unexpected by Jin Shiyi. In the blink of an eye, the strange man had fled into the dense forest and
disappeared. Jin Shiyi was both surprised and delighted. He pulled Li Shengnan up and asked, "How did you scare that strange man away?"
Li Shengnan smiled awkwardly and said, "I wasn't afraid of him, so naturally he had to be afraid of me." "Oh dear, you've been injured by his Asura Yin Sha Gong!
Lie down quickly, let me treat you!"
Li Shengnan used a needle-based poison-removing therapy, inserting thirteen golden needles into thirteen vital points on Jin Shiyi's body. Jin Shiyi then used his internal energy
to force out the Yin poison. Meng Shentong was utterly shocked. It turned out that although he had secretly learned the Asura Yin Sha Gong, he didn't know how to use
acupuncture to treat it. He thought to himself, "No wonder Jin Shiyi was unharmed that time; this girl must have treated him
. If I obtain the martial arts secret and return to the mainland, I will definitely kill her!"
Jin Shiyi had been injured by the Asura Yin Sha Gong once before, and after recovering, his body's resistance to this kind of Yin cold energy had
greatly . This time, the injury was not as severe as before. After a while, Li Shengnan removed the golden needles and said, "This time, you
only need to rest for three days, and you will be fully recovered. " Jin Shiyi glanced around and saw the monk Jianfa still sitting cross-legged, practicing his internal energy, hot white steam rising from
his bald head . He said, "Shengnan, why don't you treat him too?"
The monk Jianfa hadn't been directly hit by the strange man. Although he had inhaled a lot of cold energy, it wasn't as severe as Jin Shiyi's.
Relying on his refined internal energy, he had already dispersed seventy or eighty percent of the poison in his body. Seeing that Li Shengnan was pricking vital points when treating Jin Shiyi
, he thought, "If she has bad intentions, she could take this opportunity to kill me." Feeling fearful, he declined, saying
, "I don't want to trouble Miss Li. Old Meng, please lend me a hand." Li Shengnan sneered, "If you're willing to suffer for a few more
days , I'm happy to save my energy." "
Meng Shentong knew that after the Asura Yin Sha Gong injured someone, the chilling energy would concentrate at various vital points on the body. Therefore, although he didn't
understand the method of acupuncture, he knew that Li Shengnan's method of puncturing vital points was reasonable. He was originally unwilling to expend
his true energy for the monk Jianfa, but then he thought, 'Now only the monk Jianfa is my best friend. If I persuade him to accept Li Shengnan's treatment, and he
recovers , if Jin Shiyi and Li Shengnan rebel, even if he isn't pulled in, he might be too embarrassed to
fight Jin Shiyi.' Thinking of this, he had no choice but to use his wooden body power to help the monk Jianfa heal. After the chilling energy dissipated, both of them felt
extremely tired.
Suddenly, they heard the roar of the Golden-haired Shuttle coming from afar. Meng Shentong was terrified and said, 'If that strange man brings those two
monsters , none of us will escape with our lives.' Li Shengnan laughed and said, 'Don't worry, he won't come.'" He's currently treating
the golden-haired shuttle's wounds.
Meng Shentong's eyes widened. "Miss Li, why did that strange man release you just now?" Li Shengnan replied,
"I have my own way of controlling him, but why should I tell you?" Meng Shentong, feeling awkward, was half-convinced.
Looking at Li Shengnan's cold and eerie expression, even someone as experienced as him
couldn't help but feel a sense of fear as he found himself on an island facing unforeseen danger! Suddenly,
a wail was heard in the silence. Everyone looked towards the direction of the crying and saw Kunlun Sanren holding Yun Lingzi, wailing
loudly . Jin Shiyi said, "I was so focused on healing myself that I forgot about Yun Lingzi." He rushed over and saw that Yun Lingzi's
face was ashen, his breath was faint, and his body was ice-cold. It was clear that he was beyond saving.
Jin Shiyi placed his palm on Yun Lingzi's "Dashu" acupoint on his back, forcefully channeling his inner strength to shake him, and asked, "What else do you have?"
"The final matter?" It turned out that Yun Lingzi was already on his deathbed, barely clinging to his last breath. Even a god couldn't save
him. Jin Shiyi was merely helping him regain his strength so he could give his last words.
Yun Lingzi's body trembled, and his lips slowly parted. Kunlun Sanren quickly put his ear close to his lips, only to hear him
say intermittently, "Please, please collect my and my husband's remains, bury her with me. You, you should go back as soon as possible
. Don't, don't even think about any more martial arts secrets. Alas, Qingniang tricked me into death, she died so tragically, I, I'm so sorry to her." "
After saying these words, he immediately breathed his last, his whole body stiffening.
Kunlun Sanren, Yun Lingzi and his wife, and Sangmu Lao, these four demons, came
together from Tibet to find Qiao Beiming's martial arts secrets. Sangmu Lao was melted by volcanic lava, Sang Qingniang had her brains sucked by the Golden Hair Shuttle, and now Yun Lingzi was killed by the strange man, leaving only
Kunlun Sanren to suffer the loss of his life. He was truly heartbroken!
Kunlun Sanren cried for a long time before finally managing to persuade him to stop crying. Jin Shiyi said, "It will take at least
ten days Fortunately, there are still five of us. If there are any dangers, we can work together to deal with them." "Kunlun Sanren had no choice but to advance and
retreat with them.
Meng Shentong, however, was extremely worried. His and the Subtraction Monk's skills were failing; if that strange man attacked within the next few days,
the consequences would be unimaginable. Therefore, he had to try his best to curry favor with Jin Shiyi and Li Shengnan. Fortunately, Li Shengnan remained remarkably calm,
and although they didn't know what Li Shengnan was up to, this somewhat lessened their fear.
After descending the mountain, they set up tents in the forest. Meng Shentong, the Subtraction Monk, and Kunlun Sanren shared one tent, while Jin Shiyi
remained in the same tent as Li Shengnan, separated by a cloth curtain. The next day, Kunlun Sanren retrieved Sang Qingniang's remains and,
following Yunling's instructions..." According to his dying wish, the couple were buried together, adding another grave to the forest, further darkening everyone's mood.
Fortunately, in the past few days, no trace of the strange man had been found, and even the Golden-Haired Shuttle hadn't descended the mountain, allowing everyone to focus on healing their injuries.
By the third day, Jin Shiyi's strength had recovered, and Meng Shentong was seventy or eighty percent better. Only the Subtraction Monk was still unable to use his
strength, but his movements were normal.
On the night of the third day, Jin Shiyi lay in his tent, recalling the various adventures of the past few days, tossing and turning, unable to sleep. Suddenly, he heard
rustling sounds, and the curtain separating the two tents was suddenly pulled open. Jin Shiyi was startled and hurriedly asked, "Shengnan,
what are you doing here?"
Li Shengnan shushed him and whispered in his ear, "Don't make a sound, come with me quickly!" Jin Shiyi was filled with surprise and doubt.
Li Shengnan tugged at his sleeve, and Jin Shiyi involuntarily followed her out of the tent.
Outside Meng Shentong's tent, it was Kunlun Sanren's turn to keep watch that night. Li Shengnan pulled Jin Shiyi to lie hidden in the weeds. They seemed
to hear some noise, looking around. Suddenly, Li Shengnan pinched her throat and made a strange "coo-coo" sound. A strange bird
flew and also made a "coo-coo" sound. Kunlun Sanren, who was most timid, was startled by the strange bird and hurriedly
squatted under a tree. Li Shengnan put her arm around Jin Shiyi's shoulder and whispered, "Let's go!" Jin Shiyi used his superb lightness skill and ran more than ten feet away in a flash
, without Kunlun Sanren noticing at all.
Li Shengnan jumped down and laughed, "Luckily it wasn't Meng Shentong on watch, otherwise we definitely wouldn't have been able to hide from him.
Ha, did I sound like that strange bird?" It probably thought I was one of its kind and flew here seeking company. "Kunlun Sanren is such a coward
!"
Jin Shiyi laughed. "You have so many tricks up your sleeve! Hey, where are you taking me?" Li Shengnan said, "
Of course, to find Qiao Beiming's martial arts secrets!" Jin Shiyi was very surprised and asked, "How do you know
where the martial arts secrets are hidden?" Li Shengnan said, "No need to ask. Just follow me. We've come all this way to find
the martial arts secrets. Are we going to let Meng Shentong get there first? We'll look for them even if we don't find them."
Jin Shiyi was full of doubts but followed Li Shengnan. Reaching the foot of the mountain, Li Shengnan chose a path, parting the grass, turning left and right, and soon they were deep in the dense forest. Jin Shiyi said, "That strange man lives in the mountains. What if
we run into him ?"
Li Shengnan laughed, "Why have you suddenly become so timid? Alright, if you're afraid, I'll lend you this sword
." Jin Shiyi was about to refuse, but Li Shengnan said, "Take it with you. If you encounter that strange man, it can at least withstand thirty to fifty moves. He didn't harm me
that day , so even if we meet again, I'll be fine. That's why I regret not using this sword."
Jin Shiyi took the sword and said, "Shengnan, you must be hiding something from me." Li Shengnan said, "If I
wanted to hide something from you, why would I have brought you here? Don't be impatient, I'll tell you eventually." Jin Shiyi felt a pang of sadness and refrained from
asking her any more questions. After walking for a while, Li Shengnan stopped under a large tree.
The tree was unusually large, its branches and leaves spreading out like a gigantic umbrella, covering several acres. Its trunk was as straight as a giant
, so thick that it would take dozens of people to encircle it. Another strange thing was that there were no other trees around it,
as if the earth's energy from the mountain had been used to nourish this tree.
Li Shengnan examined it for a long time, her face showing a mixture of surprise and delight. She beckoned to Jin Shiyi and immediately climbed up.
Jin Shiyi was full of doubt, thinking, "Could the secret of martial arts be hidden in this tree?" Following her up the tree, they reached the top.
Li Shengnan parted the branches and leaves, and there was a recessed area on the trunk. Li Shengnan pressed it with her hand, rotating it a few times.
Suddenly, a hole appeared. Jin Shiyi looked and realized that the tree was hollow. Li Shengnan exclaimed, "That's it!" "I found it!" She then
slipped into the hollow tree.
Jin Shiyi, not having time to ask her, followed her in. Using their gecko-like skills, they slowly descended along the tree trunk. When their feet touched
solid ground , they saw a seemingly endless tunnel ahead, cold and dark, terrifying yet mysterious.
Li Shengnan took out a string of luminous pearls, illuminating the area within a foot's radius, and said softly, "Let's go in!" Jin Shiyi
stood still, coldly saying, "Shengnan, are you still unwilling to tell me the truth at this point? Have you been here before?"
Li Shengnan smiled, "If I had been to this island, I wouldn't have needed you to come with me." Jin Shiyi remembered her seasickness; she
was indeed someone without any seafaring experience. His suspicions deepened, and he asked, "If you've never been here before, how did you find such a
hidden place?" Li Shengnan smiled but did not answer. Jin Shiyi said sternly, "I risked my life to accompany you to find the martial arts secret
, yet you've kept everything from me and treated me like an outsider. Fine, now that we can get the martial arts secret, I'm of no use to you anymore. Since
you won't tell the truth, I don't want the martial arts secret either. Let's part ways here: go in by yourself."
Li Shengnan grabbed him and laughed, "Why are you so angry? A few days ago I wasn't sure if we could find this
place ,
but now I can tell you." She paused, then suddenly changed to a heavy tone, slowly saying, "The martial arts secret isn't
hidden
here . I'm going to find that strange man." Jin Shiyi was startled and asked, "Going to find that strange man?" Li Shengnan replied, "Whether the future holds
fortune or misfortune, I
don't know. If we find the wrong person, neither of us can escape death. I don't want to implicate you. If you want to leave, I won't stop you."
Shiyi
said, "What's going on? As long as you explain clearly, I'm definitely not someone who's afraid of death." Li Shengnan said, "Alright,
let's go then!"
As she walked, she said something that astonished Jin Shiyi: "
For three hundred years, so much hatred has been expressed; some have spent their remaining years on a deserted island.
" To find out what happens next, please turn to the next chapter.
